[Kuroshitsuji Collab] 6★ William T. Spears (MOON) Translation 最終話 生活リズムは乱れなく Final Chapter: Circadian Rhythm, Unaffected
"Whilst unable to find any clues for a way to return home…"
CV: 杉山 紀彰 (Sugiyama Noriaki)
*Yume100 Masterlist *Requested by A. Carina Spears~ *Spoiler free: Translations will remain under cut *Name will remain as my normal ( ラン )
Moon Chapter 1 / Chapter 2 / Final Chapter / Secret Story Normal / Sun + SS
The light of the setting sun paints the brick-paved streets of the city with a tastefully orange hue.
Our inquiries had borne no fruit. Hence, we were now walking the streets in an effort to find a new way to search for clues to return William home.
Man on the Street 1: Oh, hey! If it isn't the reaper guy!
The two men we passed by stopped to strike up a conversation with William.
Man on the Street 2: Did you manage to find any leads on how to get back to your original world?
William: No, not yet. Please do inform me if you have any information whatsoever. It will be of great help.
William: I have to hurry back, for there is a long list of souls waiting to be collected.
Man on the Street 1: Oooh, what funny jokes you tell!
The man roared with laughter, smacking William on the back in jest.
(He seems to have gained popularity while I was away…)
A small chuckle left my lips as I watched him quickly straighten out his slightly rumpled suit.
He instantly glared in my direction.
Ran: I'm glad to see that the investigation's progressing!
I tried to laugh it off, but that didn't seem to help his mood as he still looked as displeased as ever…
William: What little information we've managed to obtain pertains to this country's population, climate, terrain, water quality, the statistics of ore mined…
William: The number of tailors and optical stores, the local gathering place for strays, and… the easy-going personality of the locals here. That about sums it all up.
(Personally, I think that finding out all of that information in such a short time is quite an amazing feat…)
However, the lenses of William’s glasses glinted like the sharp edge of a blade as if contravening my thoughts.
William: That being said, none of the above can be considered as a step in the right direction. Understand?
I hurriedly straightened up in response.
Ran: Yes! I’ve also requested an audience with the king in hopes of broadening the scope of our search.
William fixed me with an appraising look.
Ran: We will surely be able to cover more ground if we manage to enlist the king;’s aid.
William: …Very well.
Although he still looked as stoic as ever, I could tell that the revelation left him slightly stunned.
I smiled, happy that we were still partners.
━━━━━━━∘◦ ✰ ◦∘━━━━━━━
That night…
The King’s messenger had approached me, informing me that we’d been granted an audience with the King.
(Looks like the king wanted us to know about this as soon as possible…)
Overjoyed to finally be of help to William, I quickly dashed off to inform him.
Ran: William-san?
Knocking on his door, a moment of silence followed before a muffled voice sounded from the other side of the door.
William: …Come in.
I slowly opened the door. And then…
━━━━━━━∘◦ ✰ ◦∘━━━━━━━
Tumblr media
(Wha-?)
William: What brings you here at this hour of the night?
William was already lying in bed.
He had changed into a clean set of pajamas and his hair was no longer styled back. He wasn’t wearing his usual suit, and for some reason, it made my heart race.
Ran: S-Sorry! I didn't know that you were about to turn in for the day.
I quickly turned away, ready to close the door, but William continued speaking as if merely striking up a conversation.
William: Reapers require sleep. Were I to be disturbed, it would no doubt affect my work performance tomorrow.
Ran: Sorry… I just wanted to let you know that our request for an audience with the king got approved as soon as I could.
William: I see. Though, you could have just told me about this tomorrow.
Ran: Right…
I shrunk back at his admonishment.
William: It’s important to get off work on time and get the appropriate amount of sleep required to ensure maximum work efficiency.
William: This is a principle that I strictly adhere to, and under no cost will it be broken.
Ran: I… see?
William: You should get some rest as well. It would be an issue if you were to turn up late again.
I instantly straightened up. His words had hit a sore spot.
Still…
Ran: I won’t be late again, promise!
My answer rang loud and clear — a promise to him, and an oath to myself.
William: But of course. I look forward to working with you, partner.
Ran: …!
━━━━━━━∘◦ ✰ ◦∘━━━━━━━
Having said so, he closed his eyes.
Ran: …Good night.
I bid him a quiet good night before closing the door behind me on the way out.
(He called me his partner…)
His words warmed my heart.
(I’ll give it my best tomorrow too!)
For some reason, this dreary-looking corridor now looked akin to a bright path to tomorrow despite how dimly-lit it was…
The END

Real DecaP DARK Fanfic.
Warning: contains quite a bit of violence, blood, some swearing.
This isn't DecaP fluff fanfic (there's a bit at the end tho), I wrote this while imagining a DARK DecaP game. Harvard is an actual merciless bastard, and his teammates don't have a good time.
Writing this caused me some emotional pain, so be prepared.
(Also I'm so tired, this is like 5,500 words long... I didn't beta read it, no energy left 😅 I'm sorry if there're any wording mistakes)
Plot: The team experiences Harvard's darkness firsthand.
*Huff puff*
Carl was running alone in an abandoned building.
'Where is everyone?' Carl thought as he went around a corner.
*BANG*
'What was that?!' Carl heard a loud sound coming not far from where he is.
'Are the others in trouble?!' He tried to once again contact his teammates through his special police assigned phone, but it still didn't work.
'Damn it... I guess there's no other choice...' Carl began to turn the other way and started running to the source of the loud sound he had heard.
'Everyone... please be okay...!'
*bang*
"Hm? That was..." Zhang muttered to himself as he checked his laptop for any contacts from his teammates.
"It was quite loud, but still far off from where we are," said his partner, Manimani.
Her tone of voice signaled worry, yet still radiates a strong calmness.
"Any news from the others?" Manimani asked her partner.
"No, not yet..." Zhang shaked his head and began typing on his laptop.
"We've been separated from them for quite some time now... Did Mikey contact you?" asked Manimani again.
"Nope... This is just speculation on my part, but I think this old building is jamming our signals," Zhang begins to explain.
"Mikey just went in to search for Carl and Harvard, so maybe he hasn't had any new info to tell us," he continued.
"...but it's weird that Carl or Harvard hasn't contacted us at all, is what you're saying right?" Manimani said.
"Exactly," said Zhang as he finally tears his sight away from his laptop screen to face Manimani.
"Especially Carl," Manimani emphasized.
"Especially Carl... he's the biggest worrywart of this team," Zhang agreed.
"So, what should we do know? Me going in after them won't solve any problem," Manimani puts her hands on her hips, slightly annoyed.
"Right..." Zhang begins to think.
"Honestly we were so lucky to be regrouped with Mikey, only for him to immediately went off in search of those two," Manimani briefly remembers when they managed to accidentally find Mikey in this labyrinth of a building.
"Mikey!" Manimani shouted a bit to get her teammate's attention.
Mikey was running, about to turn around a corner when he heard Manimani's voice calling him.
"Goodness! What a coincidence! Good to see you two!" Mikey, noticing Manimani and Zhang, began to ran over to them whilst shouting a bit.
"A coincidence of great effort, this place is like a maze!" Zhang said, "Why didn't you contact us?"
"Oh! Yes, contact! Sorry, I forgot!" Mikey admitted, an embarrassed smile began to form on his face.
Zhang and Manimani sighed at the revelation, 'Knew it,' they both thought at the same time.
"Putting that aside for a moment, did you find anything? Where are our leader and his partner?" Manimani asked.
"Very weird. I found nothing, not a single person. And no Harvard or Carl either," Mikey said, perplexed.
"Wait, not a single person? But you came from the other way. We also didn't find anyone, so thinking logically, you should've had more chance in encountering those members!" the news shook Manimani.
"Yes, very weird. This is hideout of a big crime organization, correct?"
"Right, but we also didn't find a single person..." Manimani looked to Zhang for correction, and he only nods.
"Could it be that they already fleed?" Zhang raised a possibility.
"No way, Harvard clearly told us they'd be here. He was sure of it," And Harvard was rarely wrong when he's that sure, Manimani added in her mind.
"Damn it, this is turning into a mess. I thought we'd be able to instantly raise our achievements if we're able to caught a big crime organization by ourselves," Zhang sighed.
"I told you so," Manimani said perturbed.
'What a mess... This is what happens when you don't listen to Carl and me, we're like the only functioning brains with common sense in this team...!' Manimani swallowed her words, making the situation worse is the last thing she wants to do right now. Scolding Zhang can come after they're all together and safe.
"How about we search for leader and Carl together?" Mikey asked, sensing the disturbance in the air.
"Can't do, I wanna try contacting headquarters," Zhang said, rejecting Mikey's offer.
"I see, what about you Manimani?" Mikey turns his focus to Manimani.
"I want to, but Zhang's horrible at fights. Can't risk him getting jumped by the enemies while he's working on contacting headquarters," Manimani shook her head, a bit disappointed she couldn't go searching for her teammates.
"That's okay I understand, Zhang's the worse at fights in our team. I would also be worried if I were to left him alone in the middle of enemy territory," Mikey agrees.
Zhang didn't mind being spoken off like a deadweight at fights, he's good at other things after all. And he's about to demonstrate that other things right now as he opens his laptop and begins working.
"Alright, then see you guys later!" Mikey said as he began to run off to find Harvard and Carl.
"Ah, don't forget to contact us with updates!" Manimani shouted at Mikey's running figure that's getting farther and father away from them in just a few seconds.
She could see him making an 'OK' sign with his hand, and lets him leave, hoping he wouldn't forget again.
"Maybe we shouldn't have let him leave after all..." Manimani said a bit dejected.
"Don't say stupid things like that, if that happens then we three'll be sitting ducks here when there might be something happening to our two missing teammates," Zhang debated, he's already working on his laptop again.
"Right, Mikey's strong anyway, he'd be able to handle himself just fine. You say some pretty good stuff sometimes too, huh?"
"Yep, glad you understand," Zhang answer as he types on his laptop.
"How's the progress with contacting the headquarters?" asked Manimani.
"No luck, we're sitting ducks," Zhang answered, his typing stopped.
"Figures," Manimani sighed, "Still, what was that noise anyway?" she asked.
"Don't know, but it seems to be coming from the way Mikey ran off to, so he may be close to it. We're definitely far off though," Zhang said.
"Should we go there?" suggested Manimani.
Zhang closed his laptop with a clicked, "Sure, it's not like we're making progress here," and stood up.
*Huff puff*
Carl could hear himself breathing.
The building he's in is old and so very quiet.
He could only hear his footsteps and rapid breathing.
'That source of that noise should be close... Damn it!'
Carl thought about how it all came to this, and almost swore to himself to give Harvard a good beating when he sees him next.
'Harvard, you stupid...!'
He remembers when Harvard came to them with surefire proofs on a crime organization and a plan to catch them all by themselves.
He and Manimani tried to convince him otherwise and to at least tell their higher-ups, but Harvard wouldn't listen.
Not only that, he managed to gain Zhang's support by luring him in with talks of achievements and promotions or whatnot.
With Mikey not really supporting one or the other, they were at a tie.
But Harvard was reckless enough to tell them that he would even go by himself, so there's no use stopping him.
Carl has been friends with Harvard for at least 3 years and he had an ability to understand other people's hearts and, through them, their thoughts and personalities.
He understands his friend and partner's personality very well.
So he knew he couldn't stop him, but, "Okay, we'll come with," Manimani gasped, shocked at his decision.
"But, let me contact our instructors first. At the very least, they should know if we're about to attempt this. Things may go south after all, we may need their help," Manimani's relieved sigh reached his ears.
Harvard gave him a look, indicating 'not bad', then smirked and shook his head, "If they know, they would first stop us from going, then issue a formal request to their higher-ups to be allowed to catch them. It could take DAYS. There could be an information leak, and the entire organization could be gone from that building by the time that venerable permission comes out."
Carl couldn't say anything, especially when he thought about what's going on inside the force currently.
There were talks about traitors inside Broadstone Police Force.
"We're going, NOW," was what Harvard said last before he left the room.
Carl wasn't about to let that kill them all though, so he whipped up his phone and was about to call one of their instructors, Misae or Granger.
But just then, a message came in. From Harvard. Carl pales and closed his phone, he then followed the others and left the room, chasing after Harvard.
*BANG*
'It's that noise again, I'm getting close!' Carl thought as he fasten his pace.
*BANG BANG BANG*
'It's increasing?! What are they from? Gunshots? It's so loud, like metal...'
*SCREAM*
'What in the-?! I need to hurry up, someone's life could be in danger!'
Carl slowed his pace as he gets closer to the source of the loud metal noises and screams.
He very carefully peeked inside the room where the noises originated from.
'What is... ugh-!' Carl held his breath.
*BANG BANG BANG*
"Agh! Spare me!" pleaded a bloody man covered his head with his hands.
"Sure, once you tell me what I want to know!" a voice resembling his partner's, Harvard's, told him.
"I already told you, I don't know anything- UGH!" the man's words were cut short by a metal pipe hitting his side.
*BANG*
"Harvard...?" Carl stood shocked, unable to let a single word out.
"I'll give you another chance!"
"I don't know, please-"
*BANG*
Carl reflexively turned his face away and closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, he took a glance at the room they were in.
There was a lot of red splattered on the floor and the wall, and...people. Unmoving people. Dead people.
Carl felt nauseous.
"C'mon, spill it!" Harvard demanded.
No, if this goes on...!
"Harvard stop...!" Carl heard himself scream.
Harvard seemed to hear him, his hand holding the steel pipe froze and he turned around to face him.
"...Carl," was all that Harvard said in this situation. Carl could hear the annoyance in his tone of voice.
"What were you doing?!" Carl asked, terrified.
"I was just beating information out of our suspect here," answered Harvard, his hand still holding the steel pipe.
"Oh goodness..." Carl could feel himself dizzier by the second, his partner was showing absolutely no signs of guilt.
"Look at all these people Harvard! Y-you... What did you do to them?! They couldn't be...dead?" Carl asked in disbelief.
"Don't worry, I made sure they're still alive," Harvard said, his patience getting thinner.
"That's not the problem you-"
"It was self-defense. They attacked me first with steel pipes, I just returned the favor," his voice exasperated.
Carl felt that Harvard is saying, 'Are you done yet?' with his body language.
"Harvard, j-just put down that steel pipe first," Carl begged.
Harvard sneered, "Or what? You'll beat me up?"
There was no way Carl could win against Harvard, his fighting prowess is second only to Mikey in their team, while Carl is only as strong as Manimani.
Beating Harvard in a hand-to-hand combat is like asking for broken bones and pain.
Yet, he can't use any of his official police assigned weapons, like his gun, he needs permission from their higher-ups.
And he for sure didn't even tell their direct higher-ups, their instructors, that they would even be here, in this mess.
'Harvard's mess...' thought Carl.
Carl stayed quiet, unable to answer Harvard's provocation.
"Just like I thought," sighed Harvard as he went back to terrorize the bloody man that couldn't even stand up anymore.
"Now, tell me what you know, or I'll bust your head open."
"I-I don't know, I don't know...-"
*BANG*
"UGH!!" the man let out a muffled scream and coughed out some blood.
"HARVARD STOP!!" before Carl realized, he was running to stop his partner.
Carl tackled him from behind.
Harvard's footing wobbled, but he easily pushed Carl away.
Carl landed on his back, "Guh...!"
"Carl, I'm warning you, don't get in my way," Harvard's voice was serious and laced with anger.
"You can't do this! This isn't right!" said Carl as he attemped to get up.
"And who decides on that?" Harvard sneered.
"The law does!" Carl yelled.
"Well, the law is wrong."
Harvard's eyes looked down on him, and Carl trembled from the fear and pressure.
Harvard's eyes were merciless, his eyes now were like the eyes of criminals they've caught together before.
Dark, cold, merciless, cruel...
Carl couldn't bear to look at them.
Harvard turned away from Carl and looked back at the man lying down in his own blood.
"Tell me, what do you know about the Clown case from 10 years ago?"
The man didn't answer and only laid still while covering his head with his hand pitifully.
"Answer me!!" Harvard screamed as he swung the metal pipe once more.
"HARVARD NO!!"
Carl ran over and gripped his partner's hand that's holding the steel pipe tightly, trying to get him to let it go.
"Harvard, please don't do this!" Carl cried.
"Carl, LET. ME. GO!" Harvard's strength outpowered Carl and he swung down the pipe to hit Carl's upper arm.
"Aagh!!" Carl wailed as he fell down.
Harvard sighed annoyingly as he steadied himself, he lifted his hand again to hit the man.
"Harvard no...!" Carl clenched Harvard's leg, pleading for him to stop this madness.
Harvard kicked him back and swung down his metal pipe on the man again.
*BANG*
"Harvard no! This is wrong! Please stop it already!!" Carl could feel tears streaming down his face.
"Is this your justice?! Harvard!!" Carl cried at the top of his lungs.
"That's right, this IS my justice," Harvard coldly answered.
Carl's heart fell.
Why am I so weak? Carl hated himself at this moment.
If only the others were here, any one of them could do a much better job at stopping Harvard than he could...
"Harvard STOP!!!" Carl forced himself to get up, the pain in his upper arm tearing through him mercilessly, but he hold it back.
Carl tackled Harvard from behind again, and he felt a sharp pain stabbing his stomach.
Harvard had elbowed his stomach.
Carl could taste blood in his mouth, but he held his ground.
"Har..vard!!" Carl swung his fist to Harvard's face, but Harvard caught it.
"Stand. Back. Carl."
Harvard kicked his stomach and threw him back.
The impact from hitting the ground made Carl gagged on his blood.
Carl felt pitiful.
If only anyone from his team were here, they could surely stop Harvard.
Carl couldn't, Carl never could. He was too weak, too fragile, too much of a pampered crybaby to do anything.
He was scared, terrified. He couldn't even properly look at his friend without trembling so much.
He wants to go home to his family. He wants to sleep in his soft and large bed, and have his parents and elder siblings tell him that everything will be okay.
He hated this. Why did he even go to Police College for? He should've stayed and continued his family's business. What dreams? Being a hero? Laughable.
"Uhh...uwaaaa..." Carl cried.
He couldn't even lift his arms anymore, one of them hurt too badly and he just has no more energy left to lift the other anymore.
'It hurts...' Carl's whole body was screaming in pain, he was coughing up blood, but most of all, his heart hurt.
His friend and partner is doing something so horrible, yet he couldn't even stop him.
Since he's 2 years older, he always feels like should show Harvard the way, that he should guide him on the right path.
But he failed, miserably.
He is a failure.
*Sniff sniff*
Unbeknownst to Carl, Harvard was silently watching him, his expression contorting slightly.
Harvard suppressed the feelings in his heart, and began to interrogate the man again.
"I'll ask again, what do you know about the Clown case from 10 years ago?"
The man curled up and stayed silent.
"I know you know something. I've obtained information that before you founded this criminal organization 8 years ago, you were in contact with Clown. My source even told me that you were sending hit list to them."
The man kept silent.
"Tell me, 10 years ago, were you the one that gave the instruction to kill a woman surnamed Marks?" his voice intensified.
"..." silence.
"Hahaha... is that how you wanna play? Fine."
*BANG BANG BANG*
"You know, maybe you'd be interested to know who's the source of all my information on you," Harvard gave a forced smile.
"Do you have any idea of an old woman and her daughter who's surnamed 'Hart'?"
"...!" the man responded slightly.
Harvard smirked, "The old lady has trouble with her left leg and walks with a cane, while the daughter has burn marks on her right hand. Do you suppose know who they are?"
'...You-" the man's teeth clenched.
"Willing to talk now?"
"What did you do to them?" the man face Harvard with a new fiery determination.
Harvard let out a geniune laugh, "Ahaha, nothing. Yet."
The man lunged at Harvard as if his wounds aren't bothering him.
"Heh!" Harvard easily evaded him, "If you tell me everything you know and did with Clown, nothing would happen to them."
"You...monster!" the man screamed as he lunged forward to attack Harvard.
Harvard just clicked his tongue and kicked him back, "Monster? If I'm a monster, then what the fuck are you huh?"
"You killed people, you terrorized them, you were so evil that you wife and kid left you AND told all of your wrongdoings to the police to get you in jail. You're a fucking PIG in a human society."
"SHUT UP!!" the man yelled and got up again.
"You're the shit of society, the least you could do is own up for being a shit and tell me everything I want to know from you."
The man attempted to tackle Harvard, but Harvard dodged and hit him hard with his metal pipe.
*BANG*
"Feel like talking now?"
*Cough cough* the man coughs up a lot of blood.
"Harvard...stop...he's gonna die...sniff," Carl tried to force himself to stand up again.
He's a failure, sure, but if he and the man were gonna die in his partner's hands, the least he could do is to reduce that kill count from 2 to 1.
He's used to cleaning up after Harvard anyway, one more time wouldn't hurt.
"Stand down Carl. What am I gonna tell your prestigious family if you get hurt any more than this?" Harvard sighed.
Carl clenched his teeth and forced himself to get up again, and, oddly enough, he couldn't quite feel the pain anymore. Is that good or bad? He was supposed to be knowledgeable about this, but he couldn't quite remember. He feels dizzy.
"ZHANG, MANIMANI, MIKEY, HELP!!!" Carl screamed loudly.
Carl couldn't do it alone, so he called for help. After all, that's what teammates are for.
*Huff puff*
"This place is a labyrinth!" Manimani said between breaths.
"Tell me about it," Zhang unenthusiastically replied.
"At least we are together!" Mikey added.
"I'm glad we found you! But why were you still so close to our location?" Manimani asked.
"I got lost! This place is a labyrinth!" Mikey said a bit too enthusiastically.
"Wow," Zhang replied.
*BANG BANG BANG*
"We're already so much closer to the source of those loud noises, just a bit more!" Manimani said.
"I hope Harvard and Carl are already there, I don't think I could manage to run around again to search for them," Zhang said, out of breath.
"Don't worry, I could still go for another run!" Mikey said with a reassuring smile.
"Gee, good for you," said Zhang.
*BANG*
"Another loud noise! It's so close now!" said Manimani.
"C-Can we take a short break?" Zhang pleaded.
"Not now! We're so close..." rejected Manimani.
"B-But I'm so tired...can't go on running...!"
"That's why we always told you to train with us! But you always refused!"
Manimani and Zhang were about to start a scuffle.
"ZHANG, MANIMANI, MIKEY, HELP!!!"
"Huh, that was...!" Manimani was suprised for a second, but immediately began to search for the source of the voice.
"Carl...?" Zhang added, surprised and out of breath.
"Here! Let's go!" Mikey acted first, the two then followed behind him.
"Carl!!" Mikey called back.
Carl could feel his heart literally jumped with joy and relieve hearing that voice.
Mikey was the strongest in their team, if anyone could stop Harvard, it's him!
Carl sniffled for one last time before steadying himself, 'That's right, this isn't time for crying. We need to stop Harvard. We need to help him!'
"Mikey! We're here!" Carl called out to Mikey again.
Harvard's expression showed his displease, 'More annoyances...'
"CARL!" Mikey's loud voice was even louder as he got closer.
And he finally managed to find them.
Carl almost cried again out of joy when he saw that Zhang and Manimani were also with him.
"Carl- What in the?!" Manimani spoke first, she scanned the room and immediately formed a hypothesis.
"What the..." Zhang was second, he turned paler as his gaze traced the people lying on the ground in blood.
"Oh goodness..." Mikey was the last as he looked between Harvard and Carl in confusion and horror.
"Carl, what is happening?!" Manimani asked agitated.
"Speak later! Mikey, you need to restrain Harvard!" Carl's orders were straight and sure without a hint of doubt.
That, coupled with Harvard's annoyed expression and his steel pipe, were enough to mobilize the three people who just arrived.
"I don't really get what's happening, but I need you to drop that steel pipe leader!" Manimani demanded.
Harvard sighed, and finally dropped the steel pipe.
"Mikey, go get that man lying beside Harvard!" Carl instructed.
Mikey carefully went over to Harvard's side.
As he bended over to grab the man, Harvard's kick swerved upward aiming right on Mikey's stomach.
Fortunately, Mikey managed to dodge at the last second due to his natural fast reaction and body control.
"Harvard...?" Mikey got into his fighting pose as Harvard picks his steel pipe up again.
"Manimani, Zhang! Help Mikey restrain Harvard. Subdue him if necessary," Carl quietly said.
Manimani and Zhang gave a short nod as they ran over to Harvard.
Harvard was now surrounded by his 3 teammates.
"I don't know what's going on, but I don't want any trouble," Zhang said to Harvard.
"Harvard, drop that steel pipe. I'm warning you," said Manimani.
"..." Mikey stayed quiet, his fighting pose maintained.
...
...
...
After some very long seconds, Harvard finally spoke up, "Try me."
Mikey went first, his fist aiming at Harvard's stomach.
Harvard dodged him as his steel pipe swerved to hit Zhang who's coming from behind him.
"Uugh!" Zhang grunted in pain as the steel pipe hit his side.
"Harvard!" Manimani yelled as she tried to kick Harvard.
Harvard dodged again and was about to hit Manimani's side with his steel pipe as Mikey suddenly came from behind Harvard and restrained him.
With his arms locking Harvard's torso, Mikey pulled him back.
Due to Mikey's height, Harvard was currently lifted a few centimeters off the ground.
Manimani rushed over and quickly tore the steel pipe from Harvard's hand.
She also put handcuffs on him to make sure he can't attack anymore.
"It's over, mister!" she said to Harvard as she turned back to check on Zhang just as quick as she came.
Mikey, relieved, let his guard down for a second.
Just then, Harvard tried to kick Mikey back.
"Mikey focus!" Carl yelled.
Mikey immediately let go of Harvard, swiftly pulled up behind him and, with one fell swoop, knocked him out.
The unconscious Harvard immediately fell, but is caught by Mikey.
Relieve washed over Carl as his legs buckled and he fell down himself.
Looks like his body finally gave up.
The last thing he could hear was Manimani screaming his name.
...
...
...
Carl woke up in a hospital room.
"You're awake?" a familiar voice called out from beside him, it was his eldest brother, Alfred.
"Elder brother...?" Carl called out sluggishly.
Alfred gave a nod, "Do you know why you're here?"
Carl tried to think back and remembered Harvard's madness.
"H-Harvard, what happened to him?" Carl asked, worried.
"Don't worry, he was just knocked out by your other teammate. No other external injuries were found, it's almost a miracle," his brother answered.
"How is he now? Will he be punished...?"
"Hm, it seems like his higher-ups will give him some sentences for going off alone and badly injuring a key person in the case," his brother calmly told him, "but, all of the other people he injured confessed that they attacked first, all of them just lost."
"So, it's really self-defense?" Carl asked.
"Yes, it seems so. The only injuries he caused because of his own agenda, were to the man who was the key suspect and leader of the crime organization that used the building as their base of operation and to his teammates, including you," explained his brother.
"But," Alfred continued, "none of the injuries he caused were life-threatening, case in point, the worst injury you got is a cracked left upper arm, and to the man, quite a bit of cracked and broken bones."
"He also caused injuries on your, the man's, and one of your teammate's stomachs, but none of it was life-threatening," Alfred concluded his explanation.
"I see..." Carl said as he quietly digest all of the information.
"Keeping a lion and disguising it as a cat is quite dangerous, sometimes it causes this sort of unexpected trouble, but the benefits it gives to the Police organization are also immense. It could even be said that this sort of trouble is just a small price to pay for all of its given benefits," Alfred continued, "The city has never been this peaceful in years."
Carl listened quietly.
"He didn't want to hurt you nor your other teammate, Carl. Trust me, I already had the chance to spoke to him for a lengthy while," Alfred puts a hand on Carl's shoulder.
"As for the man though, he was quite fortunate that your partner still wants to be on the side of the law, not against it."
"He still has use for it, you mean?" Carl asked with a painful smile.
"I don't have an answer to that, maybe you should ask your partner about it. Although, I doubt that, at this point in time, he knows the answer himself," Alfred pats Carl's head and gives him a soft smile, "Be there for him, why don't you? I know you could never leave him alone."
Carl clenched the blanket tightly.
"Harvard Marks could be the one to greatly alter Broadstone. As Oxfords, we will continue to be watching over him," Alfred said as he began to get up.
"...for the Oxford's sake?" Carl asked, almost bitterly.
His brother gave a smile and said, "A lion who obediently follows his owner, is nothing more than a cat. Harm his owner though..."
Somehow, in Carl's eyes, his brother's smile seemed terrifying.
The day is turning dark as Carl said farewell to his 3 teammates, Manimani, Zhang, and Mikey who came to visit him in his hospital room.
Zhang's injury was pretty light and had already healed fully, maybe Harvard really held back against them after all.
Carl too, aside from his cracked upper arm bones, all of his other injuries were healing rapidly.
"What did the doctor say?" Manimani asked.
"He said that I'm actually able to be discharged already, but my family wanted me to at least stay for another 3 days, jut to be on the safe side," Carl explained.
"Gee, your people sound great!" Manimani said with a smile.
"Yeah, we're a tight-knit family," Carl gave a wry laugh.
They had a pretty nice converstation.
The 3 were visiting after all of the 'Harvard caused' paperworks were done, and stayed for about an hour.
It seemed like Harvard just acted like his usual self back in their office, much to their chagrin.
Harvard didn't tell them anything, or even if he was sorry.
He did, however, bought Zhang lunch today, which was a very rare occurence.
Maybe that's his way of apologizing, Mikey suggested.
Zhang, reluctant at first, soon maximized Harvard's offer and bought lunch enough for the other 2 as well, much to Harvard's chagrin.
Carl laughed at their story, and briefly wondered when he'll be able to talk to Harvard again, and how'll their conversation flow after this incident.
After the 3 left, Harvard immediately visited him.
"I thought they'd never left," Harvard said.
"You were waiting for them to leave? Why?" Carl asked.
Harvard awkwardly scratched his hair and said, "Explanation, I thought I owe YOU at least that much."
Harvard seated himself on the chair beside Carl's bed.
"So yeah, about your injuries..." Harvard started.
"My bad."
Carl waited to hear Harvard's continuation, but it seemed that there was no continuaton.
"Wait, that's it?" Carl asked baffled, "Where's the explanation?"
"Yeah, maybe I changed my mind," Harvard gave a joking smile.
"Don't joke around!" admonished Carl, still he's kind of happy to see Harvard back to his usual self.
"...10 years ago, my mom was killed by Clown," Harvard began.
Yes, Carl knew about that.
"The man I was trying to get info out of? 10 years ago, he was the one giving out hit lists to Clown."
"Huh? But, Clown was a serial murderer, not a hitman," Carl said confused.
"On the cover that is, I have information that suggested Clown actually took requests from big corporations," Harvard said serious.
"W-wait, are we alright with talking about this stuff here?" Carl looked to the surveillance camera on the corner of the room.
"Don't worry, I talked with your brother. This hospital belongs to the Oxford right? He'll be able to do something about it, besides, it's not really super-secret anymore. I heard the higher-ups plan to release this info to the masses soon, since Clown's long dead," Harvard calmly explained.
"A-alright, then please, continue."
"During the course of my investigation into Clown, I met the 'Hart' mother and daughter. The mother told me about her divorced husband being a possible carrier linking Clown to the bigshots."
"Though she said 'possible', her demeanor showed that she was sure of it," Harvard said while thinking back on the mother-daughter duo.
"Next, I researched into her husband's past and current whereabouts, and, lo and behold, turns out now he's the leader of a crime organization right here in Broadstone," Harvard eyed Carl meaningfully.
Carl doesn't need further explanation, he know that the divorced husband was the man from the building.
"So, it was all connected to your mother?" Carl asked after some time thinking.
"Everything, is connected to my mom. Everything I do is for her," Harvard answered, his eyes directly locking into Carl's.
"I admit, I lost control," Harvard remembered the state Carl was in, coughing up blood and crying on the ground. Something inside him hurted, "So, my bad."
Carl's right hand slowly reached up to the top of Harvard's hair, and he gently pat him.
"Next time, Harvard, we'll handle it together," Carl spoke gently.
Harvard made an expression like a sad and guilty kitty, making Carl smile a bit, "There, there."
As the youngest of the Oxford siblings, Carl only had older siblings, so he had always wanted to have a younger sibling.
When he met Harvard and, subsequently, as they got closer, Harvard's existence felt like the younger brother he had never had but always wanted to have.
Sometimes Harvard made him angry, other times he made him happy.
Sometimes Carl couldn't take his eyes from Harvard lest he'll make trouble, and sometimes Carl couldn't help but to depend on Harvard.
Being with Harvard was as frustrating as it was fun.
Carl both adore and admire Harvard, but deep in his heart, there was a sense of uncertainty and fear as well.
Carl knew Harvard so well, he fears himself getting too close to the darkness inside Harvard.
A deep, black, unending darkness.
It could consume Carl whole if it so wishes to.
He briefly wondered, what he means to Harvard.
And, if the time comes when the darkness inside Harvard is unleashed, would their bond endure?
------
Author's note: if you read this far, thank you!!
Also, before you ask, "Clown's dead?"
Yes, I headcanon (for this fic) that they're already dead, since at the end of the 'Concept Image Trailer', Harvard said that he wants to meet Clown in DecaSim.
That raises the question: "Why not just meet him in real life?" Unless he CAN'T.

what happens when you listen to three audiobooks in like a week and a half
We've been at trial for like the past two weeks at work, which means I have been alone in the office, with approximately 2 hours worth of work to do every day max, mostly just there to answer frantic emails and texts about "what exhibit number is [vague and potentially inaccurate description of email or other document]?" and occasionally file supplemental trial briefs. Anyway, it's all up to the jury now! Only not now now because it is a court holiday and because this case lives to torment me and never ever ever finish ahahaha it's fine i'm fine, we better win.
Anyway, all of that is to say I was bored as hell so I decided to finally finish listening to the audiobook of Gideon the Ninth, which I had started listening to LAST FEBRUARY. You can perhaps guess that, as good as the audiobook narration was, I was not entirely feeling the book. Ahaha. Ha. I was already mentally writing my Goodreads review, complaining about how yes, the narrative voice is great, and yeah, the set up and genre mashup are fun (lesbian necromancers in space! country manor mystery! slasher horror!), but there's just not enough context and the worldbuilding is so vague and what are the overarching stakes even. And then the last 1/3 of the book happened, and I listened to all three current books in the series in like a week and a half and I have spent the last two days rotating these characters in my head and reading meta and such. Sorry in advance about how in approximately two weeks time, my queue will be full of TLT shit.
Spoilers and assorted jumbled reactions below, because I'm not about to ramble like this on goodreads. But real talk, I have skimmed so much spoilery talk/fan art/etc about these books and absolutely none of it made any sense at the time so tbh I don't think it matters all that much if you're spoiled. The spoilers won't even make any damn sense most of the time.
I wish I could give this series some kind of pitch that would, idk, explain it or make it seem enticing, but lol I have no idea where I'd even start. I'll just say that if you are in need of Enrichment in your Enclosure, these books are like being tossed a very meaty bone full of delicious marrow which you can gnaw upon for a good long while.
Gideon's narrative voice is a lot of fun, and I do quite enjoy how she's basically a big lesbian jock, even if that did make a lot of the first book rough going for me because alas, Gideon, bless her, is not interested in much beyond hot ladies, swords, staying alive, and getting off her home planet. And Harrow, of course.
HARROW. For 2/3 of the first book, Gideon hates her passionately, they've been enemies their entire lives, they are vicious and awful to each other. Now, I knew Gideon/Harrow was like THE ship for these books, and I was like "...hm. Listen, I simply do not vibe with this kind of enemyship." But then that last third happened, and auuughhhhh. They're enemies, they were all the other had, they were two rats trapped in a barrel, desperate to get out, clawing and biting and snarling and hurting each other, they were each other's only solace, they were doomed from the start. They've been trapped in a cycle of terrible violence, and I have no idea if they can ever get out. And the love Gideon wants from Harrow is to be used and consumed and destroyed by love, and the love Harrow wants to give is to save her and keep her even if it means forgetting her. Like, y'all, I ship it, but I have no idea how there's any kind of future in it.
And then Harrow the Ninth happened, and goddamn, poor fucking Harrow. I felt for her already after the revelation in Gideon the Ninth, but Harrow the Ninth made me so desperately sad for her.
Good job on the soup though, Harrow!
Also the low key comedy of all of them stuck with each other on the Mithraeum was *chef's kiss*. Just like THE most demented and toxic workplace sitcom while poor Harrow is descending into a total mental breakdown.
The worldbuilding is so fascinatingly, complicatedly BONKERS. Also it's so SPACE CATHOLICISM that I don't even know what to say about it. I'm not qualified. But like. It is. It's so Space Catholicism, but also make it More Goth. And it's clearly concerned with religion and faith and all that, but not in a Narnia kind of way, and I am FASCINATED about where it's all leading to.
What a fucking villain this series has in John Gaius aka God aka Necrolord Prime aka the Prince Undying aka the Emperor of the Nine Houses aka Jod. Just absolutely skin-crawlingly horrible, the literal Worst Person Who Ever Lived, even as he's affable and funny and occasionally endearing and pathetic. And like I'm not even sure all of that stuff is a mask or a cover for his monstrousness! Like I think he genuinely is affable and funny and endearing and pathetic! He is just also quite literally History's Greatest Monster. I'm not sure if he was always like this, though I'm leaning towards him having been an awful man before he became god, in all those quiet, too-easily unnoticed ways men are awful, the moment they have any power over someone. And then Jod gets all the power so of course his awfulness becomes correspondingly greater.
I will say though that Jod's origin story is an actual horror movie, the stuff of nightmares. It's the end of the world because climate change and he and his team are frantically working on some way to save everybody but it doesn't quite work, not well enough, and no one is listening to him, and the clock is ticking down and of course the billionaires have a way out, of course they're gonna get on some space ships and bounce, but what about everyone else? Jod is sure he can save everyone else, if only he had the resources, if only they'd listen to him. And someone was listening, it turns out. Someone--something gives him power. Terrible, terrible power over life and death. And he becomes something else and makes choice after terrible choice, enabled by his friends, and then whoops not whoops! He's killed everybody on the fucking planet and ate the sun and the whole solar system too!! Absolutely terrifying reveal, and it's built up to so well. We spend so much time listening to Jod and so much of what he says is reasonable or understandable, but every so often there's a hint that under his commendable politics and goals and general hapless nerd vibes, there's something else, something much, much worse.
Actually, this whole part would make a truly great horror movie, especially if it starts off as an almost dark comedy that shifts genres as it goes: from dark comedy to suspenseful thriller to eldritch horror.
Also he gets, like, super weird about the cadavers he's been experimenting on. Like, deeply, horrifying creepy and weird about them.
Lotta people get weird about corpses in this series, if I'm being honest.
CAMILLA AND PALAMEDES. I am UNWELL about these two. I am UNHINGED. I am still rotating them in my mind, unable to do much but WEEP. "So...do you ship them??" you might ask. To which I say idk and idc, what does to ship these two even MEAN at this point, they are platonic, they are romantic, they are eros, philia, AND agape, and they're the Love that Is Perfected in Death. The absolute fucking pinnacle of insane codependence. Childhood BFFs who crawled into each other's skins and hearts and souls and never crawled back out. How much more codependent is it possible to get? NONE. NONE MORE CODEPENDENT. They have MERGED THEIR SOULS AND BODIES TOGETHER INTO ONE BEING. [actually, real talk, i am uncertain of the Soul Situation, I am pretty sure they've merged their souls together, but like. idk. they do also say they will be known as themselves "beyond the River" after death] I am WEEPING just THINKING ABOUT IT. That is not fucking hyperbole btw, the mere thought of them basically makes me cry, it's fine, i'm fine. They love each other SO MUCH. I CANNOT HANDLE IT.
Anyway, rather difficult to "ship" a pairing that has become...one person. Like, still willing to make a game go of it even during the period where they're sharing a body, but like. Now they are one person??? Because this is not a Steven Universe-style fusion where Ruby and Sapphire can unfuse from Garnet, Camilla and Palamedes are now one person, no takebacks while they live. I do love Paul though! Fucking adore that some of Paul's first acts as a new person were acts of kindness and mercy. Jod's lyctors are called saints, but I think Paul is the only one who is a saint in truth.
So, a triumph or a tragedy or both that Camilla and Palamedes died to become Paul? Idk! I adored Camilla and Palamedes as individual characters, I adored how in many ways they're the certain, just moral center of this entire series, I love their intelligence and ferocity, and oh, after Nona the Ninth, I loved so much how they loved. Each other, and other people. I loved Camilla using truths like her swords, her dry humor, how she was still so kind even while being an absolute stone cold fucking badass. I loved Palamedes, his brilliance and how he bent basically all that brilliance into helping people. I loved so fucking much that he was the one who figured out that there was a better way to achieve lyctorhood than the way Jod and his lyctors set out for them. I loved that stuck in a bubble in the underworld, with nothing but a terrible erotic novel, he started having serious opinions about said erotic novel and undoubtedly wrote terrible fanfiction in his head about it.
Ahem. Anyway. Abigail Pent and Magnus Quinn were also delightful, and I was especially charmed by the lovely Welsh accents Moira Quirk gives them in the audiobook. Love that Abigail has immensely powerful, friendly mom friend energy while simultaneously being an immensely powerful Eldritch Speaker for the Dead. Gideon observing her all like "ah, her eye contact is...extremely very unsettlingly intense! but also she is wearing an apron and is cheerful so that's alright then."
God, this is really long, sorry to anyone who actually read it, possibly i will reblog with more disjointed thoughts.

(Some) Comics I read this Week:
Tumblr media
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1
(Cody Ziglar, Federico Vicentini, Bryan Valenza, Cory Petit)
This issue does a great job of picking up the plot threads from the previous run it needs and quickly moving on from the ones it doesn't. I love the tension bubbling up in Miles life (well I love it as a reader but feel sorry for Miles. He's really going through it), and how it connects to his problems with anger in the previous run. Miles' life is one disaster away from falling apart, and it leaves you in suspense because you know it's going to come eventually. 9/10
Tumblr media
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1 (of 5)
(Jordan Ifueko, Alba Glez, José Marzan Jr, KJ Díaz, Travis Lanham)
This book continues what the animated show has seemingly started (judging soley by the trailer), making Lunella nicer and more approachable. Which imo, misses what makes her character work so well. Lunella is an outsider who makes no effort to change herself to be more likable, instead embracing her independence. And she finds a friend anyway, Devil Dinosaur, by being herself. While I'm fine with her having friends (she had friends in the original series), she seems to let them into her space too easily compared to how Lunella used to treat other people in her books. I also don't believe she'd stop being a superhero so easily.
And where was Devil Dinosaur? He's half of the title but he was barely in this story. He brings something to the table that's clearly missing here, softening Lunella while also causing her problems that further her "other" ness. Now she's just soft already, and her problems come from something else. Still, it was fun and the new villain seems interesting. 7/10
Tumblr media
Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #1
(Josh Trujillo, Adrian Gutierrez, Wil Quintana, Lucas Gattoni)
Jaime is back! And I'm having a great time. The art is so goofy (in a good way) but is incredibly kinetic, allowing for cool action sequences and expressive faces. The set up of the Reach returning and possibly taking control of Jaime is intriguing. You can feel the pressure being put on him by the authority figures in his life, as his normal and superhero responsibilities pull him apart. I'm interested to see more. 8/10
Tumblr media
Little Monsters #8
(Jeff Lemire, Dustin Nguyen, Steve Wands, Greg Lockhard)
I've stuck by Little Monsters for awhile, half because I've enjoyed it, and half because I want to understand what's going on and see the conflict between the kids boil over. The story moves far too slowly for a monthly book, especially with the hiatus. It feels like we've been watching the vampire kids hide this human girl for months, and while that's true, it shouldn't feel that way. I also don't have a good handle on most of the characters, and what little I did know I'm forgetting. Yui, Romie, and the twins are the only ones I remembered going in.
Despite that, it still is an intriguing book. I liked getting some insight into how the kids were recruited through flashbacks, and that the "elders" might have lied. But it's telling that I don't remember the name of the girl who the flashbacks were about, since the revelations about her character (that she was a poor orphan child) don't add to anything that happens in the issue (she's barely in it).
I'm getting tired of the book, which is unfortunate because I love the art and I was so excited for it in the beginning. 6/10

Hi spar! I just wanted to say I really enjoy your metas and character analysis. You always seem to have a great grasp of the characters and narrative and emotional beats that I find super helpful!
I was wondering what you think Imogen’s mindset might be going forward as Laudna slowly recovers and has to deal with her trauma and Imogen tries to meet her where she’s at and support her. Do you think her conversations with Delilah are weighing on her more now that she’s seen some of the things Delilah put Laudna through (not just her violent death but also how much she took from her in terms of her happier memories of her home etc)? Do you feel like Imogen will internalise this or that it will unwittingly come out as Laudna’s trauma response is further explored?
Firstly- thank you very much! :'''D What a lovely compliment, I really appreciate it :) I'm a real sucker for emotional beats and character dives and narratives that get influenced by these things, and I'm thrilled other people also get mileage out of my metas about these subjects. Secondly, this answer is late, and I'm very sorry. But its here now!
TL;DR: Oh yeah totes. Absolutely. Yes on all fronts. Its gonna be wild. :'D
I think that the entire experience absolutely puts a lot of things into a new light. About Laudna, about her shaded past, about each time she trailed off mid sentence because of Delilah. And I don't think it's that Imogen didn't know about any of it before, or didn't treat it with importance, (although the layers of deflection and misdirection between them didn't help). But it's very, very different to have it laid out like it was. In visuals and ghosts and tangible hurt and misery, in faces to names and at the end of it all- Laudna. Tired, and exhausted, and hopeless, in a cage, saying she doesn't think she can do anything. That the choice is all out of her hands. That maybe it always was.
So I think the big takeaway from this revelation will manifest in details of choice and agency, and Imogen with this deep, shattering understanding of how little of it Laudna has had previously. During the res ritual, saying to her: Make your own choice, please, do what you want, and I will support it. But its your choice. Its yours. She was so emphatic about giving Laudna that, desperately wanting her to be happy, wanting her to choose that happiness.
And that mentality, from Imogen, who has spent years clawing for control, her insides and out upended by bigger forces. From Imogen, who has learned the hard way that her best tool, her strongest one, is a weapon- a mind like a spike, like a hammer, in lightning striking down, lies and consequences doled out without hesitation. From Imogen, who very, very recently, has been reminded that the best way (the only way) to keep her loved ones safe has to do with ripping the storm out of her veins and letting it loose.
(What use are all these powers if not for protecting the people she loves? What are these scars, if not a reminder?)
(Evidence?)
... So to answer your last question- yes, and, honestly, yes. I think Imogen will be invested in advocating for Laudna's happiness and Laudna's choices, and be fighting to not push her into anything she doesn't want. Fighting to not let any of her own wants or needs override Laudna's. And I also think this is going to meld beautifully (Subtext: Uh Oh) with the trigger-happy, protective, self sacrificial "ill gladly do damage to myself to do damage to enemies" things Imogen already has going on.
(So. yes to the internalizing, and then some).
But, as we've already seen in this group of powder-kegged playing-hot-potato-with-therapy individuals, this kind of internalizing is not usually a long term solution, especially under duress (Moon's haunted), especially when someone already has a ton of shit going on (Moon's haunted). So its absolutely going to come out, sooner or later, and we are ripe for Interactions, Situations, and Shenanigans in the meantime. Especially if, Laudna, fresh off of "oh god everyone derailed their lives to fix my issue" tries to focus more on Imogen as a result. Wow what a mess. Hell yeah.
(That said, there are so many other people in the Bells that need* to have 1-1 conversations and resolutions and talks with Laudna, so Imogen might have a bit of breathing room right now for putting all focus and attention on her. So I guess, internalize away, my gal.)
*Need is, technically, MY need, but it still counts. Ashton WILL talk to Laudna soon or i will Combust. F.C.G, Fearne, Chetney, Orym...... Give Me The Conversations, CR. Give them to me.
... cannot wait for the next bit of combat though.

Crashing down
Summary: A rewrite of Bk 1 Ch 13 on-call room chat with Bryce. Casey discusses what's got her stressing out and also her relationship with Ethan.
Pairing: Ethan x MC (Casey Valentine). Ethan doesn't appear in this fic, but the relationship is discussed with Bryce.
Warning: Mild sexual reference
Word Count: 950
A/N: I am currently rewriting and adding scenes from book one. I thought I would add this one in as I thought it was a nice opportunity to discuss the relationship with Ethan with another character. I have also been exploring what may happen if 2 of the LI's were aware of MC's relationship with the other. In my version of events Casey slept with Bryce after she kissed Ethan in Miami. Things happened to make each aware that something was going on with the other. (Read my previous 2 fics here and here)

Casey sat on a cot in one of the on-call rooms. Bryce sat alongside her, his arm draped around her shoulders. She had bumped into him a few moments before, as she walked frantically through the corridor, her thoughts threatening to overwhelm her.
"I can't stop thinking about...about everything. Poor Mrs Martinez and the investigation into her death...wondering if I'll still have a career at the end of the week...wondering if I even deserve one. Dr Banerji's diagnosis. Dr Ramsey quitting the hospital, being sabotaged at every turn...and now this sweet, sick kid I can't diagnose. I feel like everything is crashing down around me." She placed her head in her hands and let out a long sigh.
She had hoped that saying everything out loud would make her feel a little better. But hearing herself list everything just made her wonder how she had held it together for as long as she had.
"Why didn't you say anything?" He asked, concern etched across his features.
"Because good doctors can handle whatever's thrown at them. And I really want to be a good doctor."
"You're already a good doctor. Hell, you're the best medical intern in the hospital."
"Don't think I didn't notice you qualified that to just the medical interns."
"To be honest, you are better than most of the surgical interns too."
She leaned her head on Bryce's shoulder.
"I don't know if I can keep doing this. It's all too much. If Ethan Ramsey quit, what chance do I have?"
"Hey, you can do this." He squeezed her shoulder, encouraging her to look at him. His eyes were intense and earnest.
"It's wild to me that you don't realise how great you are." He gazed into her eyes and rubbed her cheek. "Casey, how can I make you feel better?"
The way he looked at her told her that she could ask pretty much anything of him in that moment. Yes, he was promiscuous, but he was also a kind and caring guy. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease around him. She knew from their previous encounters that he could leave her feeling physically satisfied at the very least. But, then she though of Ethan. Her feelings for him seemed to be getting stronger by the day. As much as their predicament left her frustrated, she felt that she was now beyond the point where she could engage in anything casual with someone else. Ethan was who she wanted and until she knew for certain there was no future for them, she was prepared to wait. She was sure of that now.
She pulled Bryce in for a tight hug. "I'm sorry, it was a moment of weakness."
He rubbed her back gently. "Hey, your moments of weakness are a hell of a lot tougher than most folks at their best. So keep your chin up okay."
She smiled as she enjoyed their embrace for a few more moments.
"Can I be honest with you? I've known you a while now. And I know you can handle pressure. I don't think that's what's got you so mixed up." He said as he leaned back to look at her.
"Then what has?"
"This isn't something new, its the same thing you've carried with you all along. Your doubt. I know people think I'm an arrogant jerk. But, I just know how to own my talent. You've never done that, you always justify why you're here. I think you don't feel like you're cut out for this. And you're so wrong." He smiled at her warmly.
"Thank you Bryce." She said, smiling back at him.
"Can I ask you something before we get back to work?"
"Sure." She replied
"Is something going on between you and Dr. Ramsey?" He eyed her cautiously, unsure if he was crossing a line.
Although she definitely didn't want whatever was going on between them to be public knowledge, she had always found it hard to lie if someone asked her a question directly.
She decided to tell him the truth.
"Umm...well, not really. I mean, we've kissed a couple of times. But we're not together or anything."
Even though it was he who brought up the subject, he still looked a little shocked by the revelation.
"Wow. I kinda pictured Ramsey as some sort of syborg who was incapable of human emotions and relationships." He chuckled.
She couldn't help but giggle. "Bryce! Honestly, you'd be surprised. He can be really...different sometimes." Her mood soon returned to being more serious.
"You've really got feelings for him haven't you?"
She nodded.
"And does he feel the same way?" He asked with intrigue.
"I think so, I don't really know. It's complicated." She laughed as she realised she had uttered the words she disliked hearing Ethan say.
"I don't know what's so funny, but it's nice to see you laughing." He looked sincerely happy to see her smiling.
"Do you think I'm stupid even thinking of getting involved with an attending?"
"Casey, the heart wants, what the heart wants. I don't think much can stand in the way if two people really want to be together. I just don't want to see you getting hurt though. Honestly, he'd be lucky to have you."
"You always manage to cheer me up Bryce. I hope you know how much a appreciate having a friend like you."
"Yeah, I am pretty great." He smirked.
She laughed at him. Although some people thought he was arrogant, she had nothing but affection for Bryce Lahela.
"You ready to face the world again?" He asked.
"Yeah, thanks to you." She replied, smiling at him. "Let's go."

Pairings: Will Byers x Reader [you two are some shy adorable little babies]
Tumblr media
The egg timer that you had set went off with a shrill ring. Cringing, you sat yourself up, and reached over turning it off. You had set the timer as a reminder to take the horrific cold medicine and now it was time to take another spoonful. It was disgusting and it make you gag. But you had been recovering quickly so it meant it was working.
Your face was scrunched up in disgust as you poured the gross goopy liquid out into the spoon, and set the bottle aside.
You sharply exhaled, bracing yourself for the foul taste and closed your eyes. It was even more disgusting than the last time and you felt an involuntary shiver run up your spine. Fortunately, you remembered to set aside your favorite juice to wash it down with, learning from your mistake of taking a swig of water.
Setting aside the medicine and setting the timer for your next dose, you slid yourself under the blankets once more. Nestling yourself up in the caccoon of blankets and pillows you had made for yourself on the couch. After all, you had the house to yourself for the day and you figured it didn't hurt to have some entertainment so the TV was on, the remote next to you.
The cold medicine shortly began taking effect. You could feel your eyelids grow heavy, and the next thing you knew you were being pulled from sleep by a loud thud, followed by a string of hushed whispers.
This of course concerned you, given nobody was supposed to be home until eight PM, but felt relief wash over you when you recognized one of the voices to be Dustin's who was cursing under his breath.
"Shit. Shit. Shit. Dammit. Motherfuc-"
"Dustin!" Will hissed under his breath. "Shut up! She's sleeping."
"I'm trying to" you slurred.
Great. You forgot how drowsy and loopy you got on this stuff. It was was easy to forget since you had been home alone while on it. With nobody to interact with, it was harder to tell.
"Y/n. I'm sorry, we didn't mean to wake you." Will said quietly. "We just thought we'd swing by and see how you were doing. We even brought your stuff from school. I took notes for you, so,"
"Really?" You asked, now on your side facing Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Mike. "Tha- Thas'sweet, thanks" you cooed, your brain foggy from sleep and cold medicine.
Will chuckled weakly, a genuine smile on his face. "No problem."
Dustin, who was still hopping on one foot, grasping his other was taking sharp breaths.
"Dude, what is your problem?" Lucas asked.
"I stubbed my fucking toe!" He exclaimed.
Max chuckled and Lucas rolled his eyes.
"There'ssome ice in the freezer," you slurred.
"Thanks," Dustin said, hobbling off to freezer in the kitchen.
"Have a seat" you mumbled, and the party looked at one another and shrugged, finding seats scattered across the living room.
Will ended up taking a seat near you, in case you needed anything. Something you appreciated.
"I missed you guys," you pouted, and sniffled, a combination of the cold and your emotions. "So much,"
They gave each other a confused look and looked back at you.
"Man, she's really out of it, huh?" Mike said.
"No kidding," Max said.
"Give her a break, she's been out sick all week" Will said, looking at them.
You smiled tearfully at Will. "You're so nice!" You whined.
Will chuckled, knowing you weren't thinking clearly from the meds.
"Thanks, Y/n," he said kindly.
It was quiet for a short minute, nobody knowing what to say when Dustin came back into the living room with a small baggie of ice.
You giggled, smiling weakly and you called out enthusiastically your friend. "Dustybun!"
Dustin's frowned at the name given to him by his girlfriend, and everyone burst into laughter. "Not cool, Y/n,"
"I like her like this," Lucas said.
"I like you too, Lucas. You're cool." You mumbled, snuggling up to your pillow, thinking he gave you a compliment.
"You're pretty cool too, L/n" He chuckled.
At that moment, your stomach growled, loud enough for everyone to hear, and you frowned.
"Do you want me go get you some food?" Will offered.
Your eyes closed, you sighed contently. "Yes pleeaase," you drawled.
Will got up and disappeared into the kitchen.
"Could he be any more obvious?" Dustin whispered.
Mike elbowed Dustin, shushing him.
"What? Like she'll remember this." Dustin argued.
You had been zoning out and suddenly you burst into a fit of giggles. The others looked at you skeptically but you were in your own little world.
Mike shrugged. "That's fair,"
At that moment, Will returned with a small snack and a glass of water. He walked over to where you were sitting and set the glass of water down on the side table and handed you the food.
"Here you go Y/n"
You looked up at him, he was looking at you kindly, waiting for you to take the food.
You were focused on his face. More specifically his, nose. You slowly reached up and touched his nose. "Boop."
He gave you an amused look, and chuckled nervously.
"Um, do you not want eat right now?" He asked awkwardly.
"No, I'm hungry." You stated confidently, and you struggled to sit up and get comfortable.
Noticing this, Will knelt down on his knees next to you on the couch and adjusted the pillow behind your back.
Your head felt heavy when you sat up, and you realized how sluggish your limbs felt.
You frowned. "My head is so much!" You exclaimed distressed.
"What?" He asked confused.
"You heard her, her head is so much!" Lucas laughed.
"Yeah!" You said.
"My head is heavy, duh!" You sent Will a look that said 'keep up, man' and looked at the others, Lucas in particular like 'can you believe this guy?'
Lucas, who was now thoroughly entertained, nodded along with you, encouraging you.
"But it's okay," you patted Will's cheek. "It's a good thing you're cute."
Will turned pink, and looked to others for help, but they only grinned back at him, eyes widened slightly, obviously happy with where this was going.
"Um, thanks?"
"You're welcome," you cooed. "You're so nice, and cute, an-and nice!"
"Thanks," he chuckled weakly.
"Tha-that's why I like you so much, silly!" You said matter-of-factly.
Max who had already found out about your crush on the boy, bit back a laugh, feeling bad for you, but also reveling in the fact that this was happening.
Everyone else was just as shocked, no more so than Will though of course.
"Um, I- uh," He stuttered, his face now scarlet. "Why don't you just eat a couple bites, and uh, we'll let you sleep some more. We've kept you up long enough. Besides, you need the rest."
You pouted. "But I don't want you to go."
"Yeah but you need your sleep. This cold really did a number on you,"
"Ugh!" You exclaimed suddenly, startling the group, and you gestured lazily to the bottle of cold syrup. "I hate that stuff! It's nasty and it made my brain tired,"
You didn't know how else to phrase it, your entire brain felt sluggish and you were barely making sense of this conversation.
A look of disappointment flashed across Will's face as he looked at the bottle. It disappeared quickly and he looked back at you.
"Yeah, which is why you need rest. That stuff is super strong,"
"It super sucks," you retorted, giggling at your joke.
"Yeah, it super sucks." He chuckled, looking at you fondly.
Will stood up and the others followed suit. "Alright, is there anything else you need before we go?"
You blinked rapidly, your brain still catching up. "There is one thing?"
"Yeah?" He raised his eyebrows, waiting for you to continue.
"A hug goodbye?" You asked, looking up at him innocently, your eyes still droopy.
He seemed taken aback, but complied leaning down to hug you.
Arms outstretched you engulfed him in a hug and as he pulled away you took the opportunity to kiss his cheek, making a small 'muah' sound that the others noticed.
He jumped slightly, and stood up quickly. Looking at you with wide eyes as he lightly touched his bright red cheek where your lips just were.
You giggled mischievously. "Now you're gonna get my germs"
+++
It was Monday morning, and you were finally back at school. You were bummed that you didn't get to stay at home all day but you were relieved you didn't have to deal with that shitty cold that made you miserable.
Plus you would get to see your friends. You barely remember them coming to visit you, and just like that bits and pieces came flowing back. Your face suddenly went pale.
You told Will you liked him. You told your crush you liked him and doted all over him in front of everyone.
Yeah, no, you couldn't show your face to them ever again. You had to get new friends. Sure it would suck, making new friends was a chore and it would suck never seeing them again but that was the price you had to pay. It just couldn't be helped.
Too bad.
"Y/n!"
And now it was time to leave the country.
Cringing to yourself, you sharply exhaled and tried to physically relax.
"Hey, Will."
"Hi Y/n," He said shyly, shuffling on his feet.
"What's up?" You prayed he didn't bring it up.
"I just, I wanted to see how you were feeling. You seemed, pretty out of it."
You sighed, looking anywhere but him. You stomach had a flurry of butterflies.
"Listen, I'm really sorry. I understand if you want some space for a while."
"Y/n it's fine."
"No, it's not."
"It's forgotten. Look, I know you were on some pretty heavy stuff so, it's fine, really. So you kissed me, who cares?" He shrugged.
You eyes nearly popped out of your head and you grew nauseous.
"I what?!"
Will faltered, somehow going pale and turning pink.
"Yo-You kissed me. Don't worry though, it was just on the cheek. It's fine, really."
You backed up slightly, and turned to face the wall of lockers and buried your face in it. You wanted nothing more than the floor to swallow you whole.
Sure you were relieved to hear you didn't actually kiss him but hell, this was still ridiculously mortifying.
"Oh God," you groaned.
"Y/n," his voice was soft and for the forgiving but you hated the pity.
You only groaned louder and shook your head no hoping that would do something to ease the embarrassment.
"I can't imagine what you must think of me." You sighed, prying yourself off the lockers, but you still refuses to meet his eye.
"Well," he said, fiddling with his hands and looking down at his feet. "I thought- I thought it was kinda sweet."
Your mouth ran dry and you looked at him for the first time and ripping your gaze away from your shoes.
"W-What?"
Will smile shyly, and looked around a bit before looking back at you. He took a deep breath and spoke, the words spilling out of his mouth quickly.
"What I'm trying to say is, I like you too Y/n."
Your heart started pounding, harder than it had been before if at all possible and a nervous but happy smile tugged at your lips.
"You do?"
"Yeah, I do." He smiled sheepishly and nodded his head. "In fact, everyone has kinda been teasing me about it for some time now," he laughed and you giggled along not believing this was happening.
Your eyes met and there was a silent but mutual understanding. He held out his hand, and looked to you fondly. The same look he had in his eyes when he saw you on Friday. A look he only gave you.
"Want to head to class together?"
You looked down at his outstretched hand and you took it, smiling brightly at him, finding it endearing how shy and sweet he was.
"I'd love to,"
A look of relief washed over Will and he beamed at you. Suddenly, his face scrunched up ever so slightly and you frowned. He brought his other arm up and sneezed into his elbow.
He looked back and you laughed. "Well, I guess you were right."
"What?"
"You did give me your germs."
The words you had said to him days ago came back to you and you instantly felt guilty.
"Oh Will, I'm sorry!"
He began laughing and you couldn't stop the giggles that arose from your chest, finding the situation humorous. You were also just so relieved at how things smoothed over.
Will caught his breath and smiled genuinely. "It's okay. It's a good thing you're cute."
You were taken by surprise at his boldness, but then you realized just what he had said. Having thrown your own words back at you from your drunken-like state and you laughed, running your free hand down your face.
"Oh God, let's just get to class" you giggled.
The pair of you started walking when he looked up at you.
"In all seriousness, even if I do get your cold," He shrugged, smirking. "It was worth it."
The flurry of butterflies in your stomach doubled in numbers, and your heart fluttered.
It was now your turn to be a blushing pink mess.

RED DAUGHTER FANFIC - What if she survived?
Tumblr media
Alex had returned to Kara's appartement after the speech, she gave to Lena. She just hoped that she had convinced Lena in some way. Made her understand. Because she couldn't bare seeing her little sister like that. Her condition right now was worse than when Mon-El had to leave the planet.
And the incident with Lena had only been a day ago while Kara's grief over Mon-EL had built up over several days.
She worried about how she would be in a few day's time - would she lose herself completely?
The blonde was a wreck now already, curled up into her older sister's arms. Linda sat next to them, not knowing what to do since stuff like this was new to her. She didn't know how to deal with someone else's grief or sorrow.
Suddenly, it knocked.
Alex gave Linda a look and the other blonde nodded simply, standing up to vanish into the bedroom again. Alex gently unwrapped herself from Kara, gave her little sister a kiss on the forehead and then went to check on the visitor.
When she opened the door, she came face to face with none other than Lena.
Alex' eyes widened. Did she really do it?
"Hey, uh. You know what, just come in, I'll have to go to the store anyway actually.", Alex came up with the lie on the spot, just grabbing her jacket, waving at Kara and then walking past Lena. The latter now entered, closing the door behind her.
When Kara noticed who it was, she shot up into a sitting position, her jaw dropping. "L-Lena, h-hey."
"Hey.", Lena said quietly.
There were a few seconds of awkward silence.
"I'm sorry.", Kara blurted out. "I am so so sorry, I-"
"Don't.", Lena said. Her words didn't come out harshly or angry, as Kara expected they might do. "I... I'm the one who should apologize. I... I was an idiot."
"No, don't say that. You have every right to hate me, I-"
"Hate you?", Lena asked softly. She came closer and sat down on the couch next to her. "Kara, I could never hate you. I... I got angry, yes but I overreacted. Alex helped me understand and see that I was wrong. I get it now, I really do."
Kara sniffled. "You don't hate me?"
"Of course not.", Lena smiled, reaching over to hug her.
Kara collapsed into her arms, relief washing over her.
It took a while until they were able to pull away from each other and then they just smiled at each other for a while.
Until Kara remembered something. "Hey, uh- Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"What did you think I was going to tell you before? Before, you know...", she asked cautiously.
"Oh.", Lena said, her cheeks turning red. "I... thought you were coming out. Sexuality-wise."
Kara felt like her throat was being tied up. "Really?"
"Yeah.", Lena chuckled, fidgeting with her hands, not looking at her.
"Well uhm...", Kara suddenly felt very hot and like her mouth was being dried out. This was her chance. "Well, actually, that... that's not too far from the truth either."
Now it was Lena's turn to ask "Really?" as her head jerked in her direction again.
Kara giggled nervously. "Uh-huh."
"That's great.", Lena said, a little too enthusiastically, making Kara raise an eyebrow in both confusion but also curiosity. Lena blushed and her fingers slowly laced with Kara's. The superheroine heard the Luthor's heartbeat, rapidly picking up in speed and intensity. She was obviously extremely nervous. And Kara's heart soon enough mimicked that speed as she awaited her next words. "Because, um... me too."
If Kara hadn't been sitting, her legs would have probably given in at this moment. She was just able to gape at her.
For a second, there were only Lena's eyes staring right back into Kara's and then their faces were drifting closer towards one another, as their eyes fluttered shut.
And when their lips were just a few millimeters apart from each other, the opening of a door disrupting the silence startled them and they pulled apart to look at the disruptance.
In the doorframe of the bedroom stood Linda, obviously uncomfortable.
After a few seconds of silence, Linda said apologetically: "Sorry, it got so quiet. I didn't know what was going on."
Kara swallowed, trying not to show her disappointment of having been disturbed. "It's okay."
"Kara, what-?", Lena whispered, wide-eyed, staring at her doppelganger.
"Oh, um, right. Lena, you know Red Daughter? Yeah, well... she's actually a really good person, you know. And... well, now she's family. My sister. Her name is Linda.", Kara explained, turning back to Linda and waving her over. Her twin came closer.
"Huh.", Lena just made, still looking bewildered. Then she pulled herself together and forced up a smile. She didn't trust anyone who had worked for her brother but if Kara said she had changed, she'd give it a go. "Hi then. Nice to meet you."
"Oh, we've met before.", Linda said casually.
Both Kara and Lena looked taken aback.
"Excuse me?", Lena asked at the same time as Kara asked with furrowed brows: "You did?"
Linda nodded. "Lex Luthor brought me here to find out Information about Kara. I read her diary-"
"Wait, you read my diary?", Kara questioned. She wasn't angry, just embarrassed. She didn't expect this revelation.
Linda nodded again and continued: "And she wrote a lot about you, about your potential and her love for you. I wanted to meet you, so I took some of Kara's glasses and went to you."
Kara's face was as red as a tomato when Linda talked about her diary entries about Lena. The latter felt very flattered if she was being honest but she focused on the other part of what Linda was telling them.
She scrunched her nose, deep in thought, rummaging through her memories, getting stuck on one. "That day where Kara was supposed to be on vacation but appeared at CatCo because she needed to help Alex with something... That was you, wasn't it? I was thinking that Kara behaved rather strange that day."
Linda smiled and nodded when Lena figured it out.
"Alright.", Kara said sheepishly, still not completely being able to shake the embarrassed feeling off. "Anyone hungry?"

Volume 4, Chapter 9: The Night of the Ancestors
(english version)
Night had fallen. All the villagers were all gathered outside to the west of the village. Cagney, Hilda, Linda, Fio, Fluffy and Oswald go there.
"I can't wait to find my parents!" Said Fluffy, impatient.
"Yes I hope." Said Cagney, nervously. Because nothing was safe. Once there, the show was bright. All ancestors were gathered near their families, great grandparents, grandparents, parents, children or more.
"All this makes me emotional, all his people who find their family." Linda whispers. Hilda was just as good. She looks carefully everywhere if she ever recognizes her mother. Further, Fluffy called his parents, hoping they would be here, because they never missed this event. Suddenly, a voice calling him.
"Fluffy, where are you?"
It was his mother's voice. Fluffy is the way where he heard his voice, he approaches but what he sees freezes him on the spot.
"Fluffy, my little one, you're alive, your father and I were very worried." His mother said, extending his arms. He was alive, yes, but not them: they were spirits.
"But ... why are you like this?" Fluffy asks, throat tight.
"Son ... we did not want to hurt you, you have to be strong now." Said his father.
Fluffy's eyes swelled with tears, he also felt anger rising in him.
"He lied to me !!" He screams, and runs away.
Meanwhile, Oswald had asked Hilda and Linda to stay away from the villagers, because of course, this was to remain secret, Cagney join them until he saw Fluffy, sitting, crying. He approached him, he understood that Fluffy saw his parents but not as he hoped, he knows he would never see his parents again.
"Fluffy ... you ...?"
"You lied to me !!"
"You promised me they would be alive, did you know?"
"I ... I did not want to hurt you, I really hoped they were still alive, I'm sorry ..." Cagney said, feeling guilty.
"Fluffy, you would never have believed, because I knew what happened to your parents long before." Said Fio.
"I am really sorry."
Hearing these words, Fluffy collapses with sadness. Fio took him in his arms.
"It will take a little while, you have to mourn."
Cagney approaches to try to console Fluffy but he turns his head and says:
"I don't want to see you anymore ..." Fluffy cries.
"Nothing is your fault Dad, leave him a little time, I have a speech to give to the ancestors, I'll be back." Said Fio turning around. Cagney was hurt, the kid did not want to see him anymore, he hopes it will be a passage. Then he goes to Hilda and Linda. Suddenly, a small shower of stars flows from the sky and a majestic silhouette stands in front of them. It was Luna, their mother.
"Prostrate yourself, it is a mark of great respect for the ancestors." Whispered Oswald. All prostrate themselves before her.
"Please stand up." Said Luna in her sweet voice. She looks ahead and recognizes Hilda, her daughter, with her sister, her second daughter. On her face, she knew something was wrong. Hilda was happy to see her mother again, but she was angry inside her, determined to tell her the truth.
"Hilda, my daughter, how you changed, I knew you would be like that when you were an adult." Said Luna approaching her.
Hilda does not move, she tells her dryly.
"I'm not the only one who has grown up, as you see, you have a second daughter, if you want to refresh your memory."
"Hilda, watch your words, I know you're angry, control you, it's your mother!" Said Oswald.
"You have the right to express yourself, to blame me too." Said Luna, calmly.
"Why did you hide all this ... our origins, my sister?"
"Hilda, it's very complicated to tell, about you, I had to protect."
"Protecting me?" But of what? And who?"
"There was the war a few days after your birth, I already told you about it, remember ... Your father had sacrificed himself to save us and the tribe against the devil. to abdicate, to take care of you ... "
"And when did my sister come?" Hilda asks again.
"The lunar-blooded Bergs are very fertile after giving birth, your father and I wanted a big family, and here we are, later, you know, I was pregnant too, I had to leave, Oswald, accompanied me on this long journey, then arrived at Inkwell and stayed with me until Linda was born. "
"Wait, did you abandon your people, but ... you're a coward!" Crit Hilda, feeling her tears rise in her eyes. Cagney held her back to prevent it from doing a bad move.
"Why did not I notice his presence, why did not you ever tell me about Oswald, I'll end up believing you were LOVERS !!!" she yells, crying.
Tumblr media
Luna does not say anything, she understands the pain of her daughter. Oswald feels uncomfortable after what Hilda just said.
"All this is wrong, he and I, we've never been lovers ... he and I wanted to be discreet not to disturb you, I was still alone with you and pregnant, I needed help, I did not want not that you think it's your father, then your sister was born, when I knew her disability ... "she took the time to say her words carefully, in front of Linda.
"I could not be a good mother to her, not just because of her handicap, you were there, I did not want you to suffer from a blind sister, to be unhappy, that I could not be able to I gave it to Oswald to take care of her, and he went with her, hoping that she would be happy. instructions to Oswald, to call me dead, to take care of Linda, to watch over the tribe while waiting for the next leader, to say nothing to Linda while waiting for the moment when she will be old enough to understand. "
"50 years later ... well ... was it still too early to tell the truth?" Said Hilda, still angry.
"But you still thought that you, you dropped your people, you pretended to be dead, and you gave up your second daughter and you lied to me!"
"I wanted to protect you Hilda, I did it for us."
"Protect me from whom?"
"Of the devil…"
"It was useless, I had to deal with the devil anyway for my soul contract!" Then finished, then he attacked my son, Fio, your grandson! father lived in him, and then he disappeared. "
"Hilda, I told you everything, I thought well, yes, I was selfish, I was cowardly, I abandoned our homeland, I lied to you about your origins, but I Thinking of you, of you two, because I loved you, you can hate me, the only thing I regret is to have separated you both , I want you to forgive me ... "Luna asks.
Hilda remains silent. She's mad at her mother, but she thinks about everything she's done for her, she loved her, even though she was distant. She turns to her sister but she is no longer there.
"Where are you, Linda?" Hilda asks, panicked.
Neither Oswald, Cagney, and Luna had noticed that she had left discreetly.
"I think it was the revelation that made him leave ..." says Luna.
"We have to find her!"
"I'm coming with you, but you will not have to rush it with what just happened." Said Cagney. And they turn around. Oswald remains Luna.
"Luna ... you did the right thing."
"Oswald ... I was stupid to ask you to do the impossible for me."
"I did it, I'm still faithful to you, even in death."
"My friend ... I'm always grateful, you took good care of Linda."
"I think we have to let them swallow these revelations, they are shocked."
To be continued

At least that's the way you're running your mouth, like Buster: I already told you I don't have any regrets Rio: There's your answer then Rio: I need to know why Rio: and how the fuck Buster: Why and how the fuck what? Rio: Why and how don't you regret it Buster: Why should I? Rio: You really need the list or? Buster: Not of your excuses, nah Rio: Be serious Buster: I am Buster: I don't give a fuck about any of your sob story bullshit Buster: Do what you want Rio: My sob story? Rio: This is about you stop deflecting Buster: Bullshit Buster: It's about you and who you're trying to be Buster: You already admitted that Rio: Well why the fuck aren't you trying Rio: you've got people relying on you too, you said Buster: I am Buster: You know I'm doing my best for my kid. It's nothing to do with this Rio: Sure Rio: Compartmentalise, always works Buster: What do you know? Buster: You ain't in my head Rio: 'Cause you ain't special Rio: immune to fucking reality Buster: I don't need to be Buster: Whatever you think this is, it ain't some great catastrophe Rio: Yeah, it is Buster: Nah Buster: We've both got bigger problems Rio: That is precisely the fucking point Rio: You think you can do whatever the hell you want on the weekends and that that's not going to affect your kid? Rio: Grow up and dream on Buster: Who I fuck doesn't and won't affect my kid Buster: Grow up yourself, I'm not out here trying to marry you Rio: Yeah, 'cos that's all that counts Rio: you're so fucking clueless Buster: You wish, babe Buster: I don't need to cry over this to be clued in Rio: Yeah, save it for when it's too late Rio: fucking genius Buster: Says you Buster: being a fucking idiot Rio: Just because it takes too much effort for you to try and do and be right Buster: If you say so Rio: Whatever Buster: Sounds like it's too much effort for you to try and be in any way convincing Rio: If you aren't listening you aren't listening Rio: can't force you Buster: If you're chatting shit, you're chatting shit Buster: Can't stop you Rio: Jesus fucking Christ Buster: What the fuck do you want, Rio? God's sake Rio: Just be a decent human being so I don't have to fucking worry about you too Rio: alright Buster: You don't have to worry about me Rio: Oddly enough, your word isn't all that reassuring but cheers Buster: Says the girl who fucked off and left me worrying about her Rio: Why would you worry about that Buster: 'Cause I'm not a total cunt and we were both in a state last night Buster: How can I not worry when you were that fucking high, babe Buster: You could have gone anywhere, anytime, how would I have known, like Rio: 'Cos I left cash, like Rio: Hardly the actions of a mad woman even if you love to pay Rio: but alright, I hear you Buster: Good Rio: Doesn't change the fact but my bad on that bit Buster: Fine Buster: Anything else you wanna tell me or is that it? Rio: About covers it Buster: See you around then Rio: Yeah Rio: Christmas, probably Buster: Yeah. Can't really get out of it Rio: Yeah, well maybe Rio: can't nah at our grieving card if we pull it, idk Buster: Yours maybe. My parents would have something to say about me trying that Rio: Obviously Rio: Not that closely related like, let's not get crazy Rio: Parents and siblings only or this shit'll spread like wildfire Buster: Obviously

Fraze & Ali
Fraze being a real cunt
Fraze: Sort it out for fuck's sake. Ali joined the chat 101 minutes ago Ali: Nah, youse the ones having to deal with her, so I shan't Fraze: Yeah I am so stop being a twat. Fraze: Or stay round Caleb's and really do ma in. Ali: 😂🖕  Unlucky Ali: And I am, I'll drop the kids round at some point so youse can see them but I've got shit to do so I won't be staying Fraze: Big of you. Fair dues though throwing a tantrum can be an all dayer when you're such a brat. Ali: Boo hoo, you're the one crying to me 'cos you can't stomach her for five seconds Ali: Give a shit, Fraze, this doesn't involve you Fraze: I was trying to appeal to you 'cause it's Christmas and dad wants you there but fuck off then. Ali: That's the spirit Ali: Why would I wanna be there? I'll see dad, and everyone else who isn't being mad cunty, in my own time Ali: I've got no need to commit to another day of this shite Fraze: Keep being a selfish cunt it's not like I want you there after you threw me under the bus calling me one of ma's failures Ali: Yeah? Glad I won't be missed then, no hurt feelings all round Ali: And go to ma for comfort, she'll happily tell you the truth will set you free on that score Fraze: I'm not the one whose proper hurt. She is. You don't give a shit but the rest of us do. Do me a favor and gimme a time you're coming so I can be out. Ali: Well she ain't the only one but the only one that matters, right? Ali: Then console her with how much of a success you are, console yourself whilst you're at it Fraze: Fuck you. You're such a spoiled bitch. You're hurt 'cause what she told you to man up and tell Ro Drew's a cheating scumbag woe's you Fraze: Just 'cause you feel guilty no need to make ma feel it worse Ali: I'm not the one crying 'cos I've not got my way here Ali: Its hilarious you believe everything she tells you 'cos that ain't the conversation I had with her Ali: Like she needs any help with her guilt complex Fraze: Aren't you? Ruining christmas 'cause you didn' t get your way for once ain't no better. Fraze: I'm surprised you wanna bother bringing your kids around if she's such a shit mum Ali: Who's ruining anything? She doesn't want me there, you don't, like I said, I'll make the effort to see the people who want to see me too Ali: Well I'm all for second chances, even if she thinks they're bullshit Fraze: Act like it then. Give her one. Ali: I am. Ali: She hasn't taken it yet Fraze: You haven't offered it. All you've done is avoided her Ali: That's how you see it. You don't live here, don't act like you're involved in this family any more. She sees me multiple times a week, she's had ample opportunity, I'm not the one hiding Fraze: Neither do you. Until Caleb upsets you and you come running back. You see her too. Why's it all on her? Ali: Grow up. Ali: I'll make myself and my children homeless, shall I? Ali: Not all of us bum the moral high ground as much as you, you moron Ali: Because its never on her Ali: She needs to learn to apologize when she's the one in the wrong, its not hard Fraze: You're the idiot that needs to grow up. Fraze: If its so easy do it Fraze: You can't even own the shit you said Fraze: Except her to kiss your feet though don't ya? Fraze: Hypocrite Ali: No, because I'm NOT in the wrong Ali: Keep up Ali: I know what I said Ali: and I haven't felt the need to be telling tales on what she said Ali: which is evidently all she's been doing so yeah, I'm good pal Fraze: Fuck you. She didn't rat you out, princess I overheard her telling dad why he's precious fave wouldn't be at the table Ali: Then you shouldn't be so nosy, should you Fraze: Yeah its all my bad. None of yours. Get a fucking clue. Ali: What's this got to do with you? Fraze: Oh fuck all except I wanted a nice family Christmas for my kids like we used to have Fraze: I'm the selfish one of course Ali: You aren't going to find it here Ali: you're not a child, any more, it isn't going to be that fantasy you've got in your head Ali: if you wanted that, take 'em to disney world Fraze: Cheers for the ma impression while she's radio silent Fraze: But don't speak on my childhood or how I raise my kids again 'cause you know less than nothing about either Ali: Please, you're 4 years older than me, don't act like I wasn't there Ali: You don't get to control the narrative Fraze: Why not you are Fraze: You don't get to tell me what's a fantasy Ali: Believe it if it makes you any happier Ali: evidently not Ali: it was what it was for all of us, we can all say how we found it but the stories aren't gonna add up and that'll create dissonance, hohum Ali: it doesn't matter either way Fraze: No it was what it was for you 3 and it was what it was for Joe, Bea and me Fraze: which matters to me Fraze: even if you're an ungrateful cunt these days Fraze: and apparently always were Ali: Yeah yeah yeah, and it was different for ma and da Ali: like I said, no one wants your war stories Ali: its different for us, you all agree, so stop pushing your bullshit onto us making us try to 'learn' from you Fraze: But it's fine for you to spout all your bullshit, yeah? One fucking rule for Ali Mckenna as per Ali: am I asking you to listen? Ali: I don't want to be talking to you, as per, you came screaming at me, like she did Fraze: Fuck off then I'm done Ali: ta ta dearest brother you're really good at this Ali: just like mummy Fraze: I ain't trying to be good to you I don't owe you shit Fraze: I was trying to help ma who I do Fraze: But forget it 'cause she's better off not talking to ya Ali: and I owe nothing to you, you can try and hold seniority over people for a while but don't act surprised when they tire of the lectures Ali: I sincerely hope so Ali: FYI, you're your own person, she'd like you to know that, according to her, you're NOTHING to do with her Fraze: FYI I already know that. I own up to my own shit good and bad. Fraze: If that's news to you suddenly too bad Ali: Hahahaha Ali: no, THAT is news to me Fraze: I thought you had shit to do Ali: Sick burn, some of us can multitask Fraze: Tell someone who gives a fuck Ali: Oh, you are VERY bad at appearing non-plussed Ali: your entire life experience should tell you that Ali: the only person you've got fooled is yourself Fraze: Thanks doctor fraud Fraze: throw that all seeing bullshit lens on yourself Ali: ??? Ali: You screaming at me for however the fuck long=me not WANTING to say sorry Ali: wowee, what a revelation Fraze: Just keep doing what you want. Please yourself like you always do Fraze: I won't see you later Ali: its only what our darling mother would want Ali: she's a bad person, don't you know Fraze: She thinks she is yeah. No thanks to you Fraze: really helping to change her mind ain't ya Ali: Sorry I'm such a disappointment, there you can have that one Ali: I mean it Fraze: Good you should be sorry too bad I ain't the one that wants to hear it Ali: you can tell her yourself Ali: it isn't my job to mother my own mother Ali: she wont give you a gold star but you can whack off to how smug you'll feel Fraze: Fuck you. I mean that. Ali: I don't care Ali: None of us love each other, its all falling apart Ali: I don't fucking care Fraze: You don't love us anymore now you've got your cosy set up that ain't the same thing Fraze: Good luck to you. Ali: Bullshit Ali: Joe's gone, Tommy left as soon as he feasibly could and he's only back 'cos he's got no other option Ali: You're busy pretending you're someone else Ali: and I won't be here soon either, so why delay the inevitable, it's all gone Ali: and I haven't got sod all 'cosy' literally what the hell do you know, all I've got is MY kids Ali: and they need me more than Tess ever did, I was surplus to requirements from the jump there Fraze: Some genius you are. You don't have a fucking clue. Joe's an addict, he's struggling. Tommy has been doing what he loves which meant he had to move. Also not about you sorry princess kitty kat. I'm trying to build a future same as you. It's hardly end of days. Fraze: Sorry you're not the centre of everyone's universe for one sec. Fraze: And everything ain't rosy all the damn time. Big deal. Ali: and why is he an addict? hmm? lets explore that shall we Ali: Bea's the only one building anything Ali: you're on her coattails Ali: its never been rosy that's my fucking point! Ali: and i'm sorry i've got sick of pretending its anything close to rn Ali: because it isn't and we all know it, aren't you all sick of pretending Fraze: That ain't for me or you to say. You'd have to ask him Fraze: You don't know shit about what I'm achieving or not you patronising twat Fraze: Nobody's asking for that except you and none of us are pretending either we're just making the best of what we've got which is apparently optional for you now you're over it Fraze: Life don't have to be exactly what you want for it to be worth a fucking damn Fraze: Stop acting like you're above us all and be with us Ali: Except I can't because he's gone. He's gone and you didn't give us a chance to say goodbye, no, I'll be as selfish as you want me to be, you didn't give ME a chance to say goodbye Ali: Oh yeah, my life is fucking peachy, I'm so great Ali: Everyone fucking hates me, is that the teen angst you want? Well whoop there it is. Everyone in this fucking town looks down their nose at me or outright abuses me on the daily, the kids I'm too young to have have a part-time dad and heaven forbid I act my age, my own family tell me to fuck off and die in a ditch, or tell me what an awful person I am Ali: there it is, yuk it up 'cos I don't know what else you want from me Ali: I have NOTHING to give, I'm so sorry I'm not worth my place in the tribe Fraze joined the chat 29 minutes ago Fraze: Put that and whatever else you gotta on me. It don't matter. I did what I did and I'd do it again. For him. Fraze: Boo fucking hoo. Deal with it. Nobody made those choices but you. Those kids don't need your sob story they need you to decide what the fuck you and Caleb are doing. Together or apart. Fraze: You don't get to act your age 'cause you're somebody's fucking ma now and its on you to let them be kids. Fraze: If you can't hack that you shouldn't of done it. Simple as. Fraze: As for the pity party you're having about us, nobody said anything like that. Calm down or keep projecting I don't care. Ali: Of course you would, no one matters but the sacred three. I know that, no need to remind me when you spend every waking day showing us exactly where we are in the pecking order Ali: This is a joke, what have I said to you, and mum, what is ALL I said Ali: we didn't need theirs, we didn't need yours Ali: but we got it Ali: and yet I'm nothing like my mother and my problems are NOTHING like hers Ali: I dare you to call her a spoilt bitch Ali: Wow, write a pamphlet. Ali: Read back what you've said, I'm not telling you what you said, you'll only say its bullshit. Just read it Ali: I just Ali: Never mind Fraze: You're a joke, Ali. Fraze: Your situation is nothing like ma's. You've had so much support all round. Like fuck are you working 4 jobs you're going to uni, you have multiple people willing to help with your kids and anything else at the drop of a hat Fraze: She had nothing but da. Fraze: I know what I said and didn't say. Spin it how you want just like with whatever mum said. Fraze: I'm not going in circles with you. Ali: That's all your doing Ali: our entire lives is one big circle revolving around them Ali: please tell me how hard she had it again Ali: as if that makes an iota of difference to my struggle Ali: so much support? Ali: I feel it Fraze: It should make a difference to your fucking behavior Fraze: but whatever I'm sick of this and if you can bail so can I Ali: Why? Ali: Why should it Fraze: It's called empathy brainiac Ali: No, it isn't Ali: that's the past, empathy is doing fuck all to change what it was Ali: you show empathy to the people who need it Ali: in the now Fraze: she does still need it in the now Ali: and i don't? Fraze: You get a shit ton of it Ali: WHERE Ali: I'm a joke, I'm a fuck up, I'm a cunt Ali: I'm not doing enough to help Ro Ali: I'm not doing enough for mum Ali: I'm a bad mother who shouldn't have had her kids Ali: there is nothing Ali: I'm not pulling this out of thin air, Fraze Fraze: You're pulling it out of your arse 'cause you wanna feel sorry for yourself and for everyone else to Fraze: You think I ain't been called shit. Made mistakes. We all have including mum Ali: Please do bring it back round to you and mum Ali: continue to prove my point Ali: call me crazy and tell me i'm making it all up Fraze: I didn't say that I said you're making a meal of it Fraze: build a bridge and get the fuck over it Fraze: talk to the people you gotta to change shit Fraze: Or just keep crying to me Fraze: what's that gonna do? Ali: Yeah, silly me for trying to get my own brother to care Ali: that's not how families are meant to work Fraze: I'm still here talking to you ain't I Fraze: you're the one not caring Ali: of course, what a cold bitch Fraze: You wish Ali: no i don't Ali: even if no one respects the fact that i have feelings that can get hurt just like the rest of you do Fraze: Again, literally nobody's ever said that Fraze: we're just trying to get you to tell ma your feelings are hurt Fraze: at least Ali: actions speak louder than words, even though your words HAVE been fucking horrible and you aren't convincing me otherwise Ali: she knows...she's the one who hurt them Fraze: and you hurt hers too Fraze: and Fraze: I don't know what else I can do here Fraze: this ain't even my fight as you said Ali: i know, i was the one who did it Ali: yeah a real impasse we find ourselves in Fraze: Do whatever it is you're gonna 'cause I can't multitask and I do actually have shit that needs doing despite what you think Ali: i was planning to
