I apologize if it is too personal but how do you deal with "antishipper" and the way they make callout posts and harassment campaigns against you ? It’s legitimately so scary and it makes me hesitant of posting my own art

Anon! I am very sorry you are going through this horrible feeling of hesitation and anxiety; knowing that people get targeted like that could not only stop you from posting, but stop you from creating altogether, and this is the worst part about this whole thing.

It’s not too personal, and I don’t mind talking about it at all. I’ve talked about our position and our relationship with fandom policing a bunch of times already, so I’m sorry if I’m repeating myself.

I used to be worried about posting certain stuff too. Well, when I was a teen/in my early 20s I wasn’t worried about anything: we had so much juicy stuff posted here lol But then the nsfw ban happened, and the social climate of this app and internet in general started shifting, the first stories about people driven to end their lives because of the hate they received started to come out, and we stopped posting completely. It wasn’t a huge loss to us back then, and this situation wasn’t the only reason why we stopped, but still, it clearly became much more difficult to just appear out of nowhere, throw problematic stuff in your blog and run away again.

I vividly remember us wanting to post my Shingeki no Kyojin drawings and comics based on our AUs and stuff, but not knowing what to do with Ereri – there was no way for us to be “unproblematic” (which was never a concern to us, we just didn’t want to get tons of hate lol) and still post Eren with a man twice his age. So we started posting them without a tag, starting with a drawing that wasn’t too shippy, and then miraculously the world didn’t end. That made us bolder, and we started to post them openly, and posted them for almost two years pretty regularly, alongside some of our other problematic ships + problematic themes. Of course we did get hate, we got a lot of hate while we were posting SnK stuff from all kinds of people, but what we also got a lot of people who found our content refreshing and interesting, even if it was weird and uncomfortable at times.

We weren’t the only people who shipped Ereri (let’s ignore my petty thoughts about the difference between Ereri and Rivaere for now), and we weren’t the only people in Twst fandom who liked Shroudcest, which is another ship that we were super hesitant about posting or even mentioning at first. But with all the hate around I was so certain the world was going to end the moment we post them, and that didn’t happen. The end of the world never happens, but what does happen is that people either get introduced to a fun new dynamic and get invested, or get happy that someone finally posts for the ship they were too afraid to post for. Somehow, when you see some other person being ballsy, you don’t feel as scared anymore – it happened to us with other people’s posts too. Yes, I still say this even though it spawns a bunch of callout posts and harassment, as it did with us. Were we cancelled? Yeah, somewhat. There’s so much you can say about an acc that states “problematic stuff, 18+”, right? I was super relieved and happy, actually, that a lot of people left/blocked us just because they’re the people I’d never want to interact with my art.

I’ve been yapping for a long time already lol so I’ll give you some pieces of advice instead… These are things that legitimately help us.

Surround yourself with people who support you – if not you personally, then at least your ideas (i.e. other proshippers). Luckily, nowadays it’s easier to find them… But also, having a friend who you can vent about these things to helps a lot! It’s cheesy but it’s a fact: when you’re not alone, it’s not as scary.

Always ignore comments/asks from antis and block them on sight, block anonymous asks too. Even if you really want to sass them, it’s much more effective to ignore them: when you give them attention, it invites more engagement from them.

Block people you get bad vibes from. Block those who like or comment bad takes or support harassment of others, block all of their alt accounts. It’s tedious and takes time, but it really helps to keep you hidden from them, at least to some degree. I look up Shroudcest sometimes just to block new people. They try to make fun of me for that, but who cares if it works? You can’t block everyone, but these people usually flock together and it’s usually just a bunch of friends, so taking several posts on these topics from people from the fandom and blocking everyone involved will obliterate the majority of harassers.

In terms of your safety, having multiple accounts in case you main one gets mass-reported helps + I would advice to keep irl stuff away from your fandom stuff just in case.

This is going to sound stupid, but please keep in mind that this isn’t about you. These people are very miserable and not very smart. Even if they try to paint you like a bad person, they don’t know anything about you, so don’t let their judgment affect how you feel about yourself. This is exactly what they want – to have power over you.

Stay strong and take care of yourself, i.e. lock your acc and/or take a break if you feel overwhelmed. Don’t worry, it will pass: it’s very rare for these clowns to keep focus on one person for a long period of time; they have like 5 different dramas per day. There are some absolutely batshit crazy rapid assholes who won’t leave an artist alone for years, but those are super rare and special cases altogether, I don’t think you need to be worried about those.

Keep in mind which fandom you want to do this with, btw. It’s usually okay for the most part, but if the fandom is just a bunch of kids, it’s more likely not worth it or deserves an empty account, at least. Twst is surprisingly good despite anything it might look like! Thanks to Yana being a shotacon and a creator of Kuroshitsuji, I guess. There are many great and supportive people in the twst fandom, it’s been a pleasure to be here, even though, once again, it’s the first fandom where I got a bunch of callout posts and nasty stuff in my ask (SnK fandom usually harassed me for other things).

TL;DR: it is scary, and you could easily get callout posts about yourself, but guess what, you also get to be yourself. Because realistically, callout posts can’t stop you from creating art. They want you to believe that they have power over you, but this isn’t true. Your life online won’t end after some random callout post – mine didn’t. They also don’t understand that each consequent callout post affects the person being called out even less. We do have a minor panic attack for the first hour or so, and it does involve more extra blocking, but mostly it just sours our mood for the day and drops our morale. I still draw, though, out of spite a little lol Oh, and do try to report these types of posts if you get them, there’s nothing wrong with that.

People had been persecuted for their art and ideas for centuries, so what happens now is really nothing new. Without diving into specifics, there are way worse things they could do than writing callouts, but they aren’t super likely to do those. Luckily.

Take care of yourself, but also please don’t doubt yourself; when it comes to your art being way too fun for lovers of censorship to handle, you’re in a very good company. I’m referring to all the artist and writers of this world btw and not just me and Katsu lol but us as well!

From my conversations with @drcranessweetestdoe, she does not behave like Kill (nor does her writing style compare to his), and I am pretty positive he is incapable (or at least very bad) at taking on different personalities since I believe I witnessed his attempt with the second account you mentioned. Aurora is very sweet, and she used to be a fan of Kill's writing and mine. I don't want people to be suspecting her of foul play because I do believe she is genuine. Kill has a pattern of reblogging fics as a way of seeing what victims he can latch onto and I see that as a coincidence with his reblog of Monster's.

As for @monsterfromthewoods... I was hesitant to make a callout, mainly because no one has actual solid proof that he is Kill. But, there is too much evidence for me to ignore, and I wanted to give my honest opinion and observations. Monster, if you are not this person, feel free to reach out and vouch for yourself, and if I am wrong, I am deeply sorry.

Fuck that. As I was typing this message up, I decided to check my DMs and noticed that my friend had said that he gave her the same name that, as of this morning, was revealed to me as his actual name along with his real picture and Facebook profile. That really sealed the deal for me. Here is the rest of my evidence to prove that this is "Kill":

Monster followed my friend around the same time that she blocked Kill.

Monster followed me the same day that I sent Kill a confrontational message, calling him out for his lies and pleading with him one last time for medical treatment and answers.

From the posts on Monster's account, and the one comment I know he made on my friend's post, his personality exactly fits Kill's. This is why I said I do not think he is capable or likely to be able to craft a believable persona.

Monster made a post about suicide, and a pro-Palestine post, the former of which Kill discussed with me a lot and the latter my friend pointed out as suspicious since Kill was also very strongly pro-Palestine. Seeing as Monster doesn't have that many posts yet on his blog, this isn't irrefutable evidence but it is very coincidental.

Lastly, I actually did my best to analyse and compare Kill and Monster's writing, since I had recalled a few things that stuck out to me when I read Kill's writing. Him and Monster share many similarities with their writing habits/consistencies. They are as follows (the examples listed are from 18+ content so please do not view if you are a minor):

Use periods and exclamation marks -- but never commas -- as punctuation to end dialogue tags.

Starter dialogue tag always facing outward. Like: ”So... Tight”

Tend to each use a snapshot style of writing, favouring incomplete sentences with frequent use of periods. Examples: K: "His mind, usually so sharp. Focused and organized like the most expensive machines. A killing machine, that worked in perpetual motion, living off killing, adrenaline used like a drug." M: "Your dear, understanding doctor. Doctor Jonathan Crane, who laughed out loud suddenly a couple moments ago. The dark colour covering his exotic looking eyes as he revealed his real nature to you."

Similarly, they both tend to avoid using possessive pronouns and determiners. Examples: K: "_ Pale, little pussy peaked from between her thighs." M: "The scars covering _ man's pale skin," _ = absence of "her, that, the," etc.

Often use adverbs after verbs in a way that feels out of place.

Capitalise after ellipses, always.

I'm not a "ship" person whatsoever but I do scroll character tags on occasion and see quite a bit of Vox and Vel together as well as what seems to be a lot of what I'm assuming is female original character stuff. I've even seen some Charlie and Vox too. So it's out there, but unless you're scrolling through character tags I can see how it might be hard to find. Personally, I also block/filter a lot of the big "ship" tags so maybe that also makes it easier for me to stumble across this stuff that "slips" through since I don't know if those pairings have names.

I get your point though. I do think many are inclined to erase his bisexuality when it's convenient. Interestingly, they also erase Valentino's pansexuality too. The same with Husk as well, but I check his tag a lot less so who knows.

What disappoints me, and I know I'm about to come off as nit-picky right now lol, is the lack of research people put into their "sexuality" headcanons for the characters with reference to their different eras. When reading some of them, you'd think the idea of "gay rights" was a completely new and foreign topic that only emerged after the early 2000s. I get people want to go for the simplistic "repressed and doesn't know what being [insert identity here] is" for some of the older characters but that completely ignores a fascinating and rich tapestry of queer history that could create far more interesting (and still accurate) stories for the characters/their backgrounds. I would really encourage those who haven't already or are generally unfamiliar to dive into this history as it might inspire their character ideas while also educate them on the work, art, and activism our queer elders have contributed to the community we have today.

I think this may partially relate to character ages being under explored as well. While I've seen debate on what is canon/has been decanonized many of these characters, as far as we know, died in their late 30s and beyond. That's a lot of life to live and experience. While certainly many people throughout history (and even today) kept their sexuality hidden from the public due to culture, shame, and safety that doesn't mean there weren't many incredible private venues/spaces that could be utilized to explore those feelings/identities in secret.

I could go on and on about this but I've totally strayed from your original point (I'm sorry!) and I'm very tired haha. I just think there are multiple factors coming into play here with these character interpretations and, for me, the biggest missed opportunity is the lack of historical research. But end of the day people should have their fun! Just an observation.

Completely agree with this! I doubt my response will be as long since I just woke up but other characters doing certain things or not knowing about sexualities is interesting, it just seems like a lot of people think older people don’t want to explore any of that like it only just happened recently as you said. I like to joke about Angel being shocked about gay marriage and not knowing a bunch of current terms but thats about it. With him being in the mafia when he was alive makes it much more interesting as well, I’m pretty sure around his time the mafia was blackmailing men in gay bars but dont quote me on that I might be wrong.

Anyway for Husk and Valentino pan erasure I see that a bunch too. Not exactly erasure but just… ignoring it? Moreso erasure on Valentino’s end because Ive seen people get mad at people for shipping Valentino with a woman and was like “hes gay dont do that” no he isnt. Also dont ship Valentino with anyone for the love of god. But like people are super used to just making up headcanons that they dont bother to look up actual canon stuff. I know Hazbin isn’t the best but if you want canonically LGBTQ+ characters use what you have and add on later. Or headcanon a background character, thats what I did with Molly.

People are very focused on modern day queerness and forget that this stuffs been happening for decades and it’s a bit sad. Also I seem to have strayed from my own question as well?? Anyway ty for mentioning this! Its very interesting 🩷

Geoff & Sanders Sides crossover fic thing

So basically this idea wouldn't leave my head until I got it written down, and also I partially blame FallingBlueRoses for this (affectionate).

Alright first of all, if you somehow found this through the Sanders Sides tag and you don't know who Geoff Castellucci is, go look him up on YouTube! Much more than just a pretty face ;). But you don't really have to know too much about Geoff to understand this fic - think of it as an Outsider POV fic, with a bit of a twist at the end. But also note that I haven't actually watched any Thomas Sanders videos since 2021 (it's just that Sanders Sides somehow continues to remain in my head rent-free and I can still hear all their voices clear as day), so their visual appearances are based off of what they all looked like back then (in case there have been any changes since - I really don't know).

Geoff yawned as he walked through the doors of Pattycake Studios. He was never really a fan of early wakeups, especially when it wasn’t even for a proper filming day, but he knew his latest video plan could benefit from some light rehearsal and blocking first, and for situations like this, it was easier to get things done when the studio was quieter. But he certainly wouldn’t say no to a bit of an energy boost first. Thank someone for the coffee machine…

Geoff made a beeline for Pattycake’s coffee-maker, while glancing down at the video notes he had typed out on his phone. It took him a couple moments to register the five men in his peripheral vision, sitting on the blue leather sofa in the breakroom. Must be filming a video here today, or doing prep work at least. Geoff knew Layne and Tony were often willing to hire out parts of the studio to anyone who needed such a space for filming, but he didn’t usually bother to keep up to date with such things, other than checking that certain sets would be available to use when desired. And so Geoff didn’t initially think much about the quiet whistle from the side of the room, until he happened to overhear what one of the men was saying.

“Hey! Hey Thomas! Look!” said one of the people on the couch.

There was a sigh, and then another voice – Thomas, presumably – spoke up. “What is it, Roman?” The voice had a similar timbre, brothers, perhaps.

The first one, “Roman”, spoke again, now sounding indignant. “Oh I’m sorry, have you somehow not noticed the definition of handsome that just walked into the room? I mean come on! The hair! The arms! The hair! Quite frankly I’m not sure what I feel more, love or envy!”

“Hey Thomas, why don’t you have arms like that? Ever thought about that?” asked a third voice, a little lower and with slightly more roughness to it than the first.

Having reached the coffee-maker, Geoff finished reading through his notes, and then turned on the machine, while the conversation off to the side of the breakroom continued.

“Okay but just hear me out, Thomas,” said Roman. Geoff snuck a quick glance across the room, and identified Roman as the one wearing a Prince Charming-esque costume straight out of a Disney movie. Or a Pattycake Productions video, even. Roman continued. “All I’m saying is, that guy looks like he knows what he’s doing, like he’s been here multiple times before! He might even work here regularly!”

“I’m saying that there could be multiple opportunities here for the taking! First you go up and say hi, make small talk, you could say you need help with your video, and you’re gonna have to come back here at least a couple more times before it’s done, so you exchange contact details, for purely Business Reasons of course, but then maybe-”

“I’m going to stop you right there,” cut in a different voice. It was stern, clear, and direct, almost like a schoolteacher. “During your flights of fancy and prolonged aesthetic appreciation of this man, did you take even a single moment to observe his hands?”

“His hands? Why would I- Oh, right. He’s got rings on.”

“Precisely – he’s married. And besides, who’s to say that he’s romantically attracted to other men anyway?”

Thomas sighed. “Yeah, you’re right, Logan, I know,” he said flatly.

Well, at least that got sorted out by itself. Geoff just had to wait a few more moments for his coffee to be ready, and then he could go get to work.

A fifth distinct voice spoke up, lighter and bubblier than the voices of the others. “Hey now, no need to let it get you down! After all, there’s no saying you can’t talk to him at all! You could go say hi, get to know him a little!”

“Nope, no way, nuh uh,” said the lower-voiced guy quickly and firmly. Geoff matched the voice to the one wearing a black hoodie covered in purple plaid patches. “Well, not right now at least,” he continued after a beat of silence. “Look, he’s here as early as we are, and he’s clearly busy with his own stuff, and probably the last thing he wants is to be distracted or held up by some random guy wanting a conversation.”

Geoff couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for Thomas and the one in the hoodie. He recalled moments in his younger years, when he had had similar dialogues play out in his head, in regards to people he admired, or simply wanted to get to know better. And sure, he didn’t always have the biggest ‘social battery’, but that didn’t mean he wanted to be viewed as aloof and unapproachable. At least the coffee is finally ready.

He took a long drink of coffee, and relaxed his shoulders as he felt the hot, caffeinated beverage already begin to work its magic. Perhaps the video work could wait a little longer – after all, it was just basic courtesy to acknowledge these newcomers, wasn’t it?

Geoff took a step away from the coffee machine and towards the group of five, giving them a friendly smile. “It’s okay, I don’t bite,” he said. “Well, once I’ve had my morning coffee, anyway!”

Geoff wasn’t prepared for the shocked and surprised expressions on each of the men, as five pairs of eyes rapidly fixed upon him.

“Wait, you can hear us? And see us, too?” said Roman, gesturing to everyone else except the guy in the middle, who was currently shooting a half-panicked half-frustrated look in Roman’s direction.

Geoff raised an eyebrow. “Uh, yes? Am I not supposed to?” he replied, deeply confused.

The guy in the middle of the sofa chuckled nervously. “Oh just ignore him,” he said with a forced smile. This must be Thomas, based on the voice. “It’s like a… comedy bit, yeah, y’know, just a silly joke!”

“…Riiiiight,” said Geoff, having another drink of his coffee while side-eyeing the group. There was definitely something going on here – he just couldn’t fully put his finger on it yet.

The individual wearing a blue striped tie leaned his head over to Thomas. “I don’t think he fully believes us,” he said flatly.

“Yes, thank you Logan!” Thomas snapped, but there was more worry in his tone and demeanour than annoyance. He took a deep breath in, and looked back at Geoff. “I’m so sorry, we really didn’t mean to disturb you,” he said. “I’m sure you’ve got work to do, so we’ll leave you be and you can forget that any of this ever happened!”

Geoff took a final sip of coffee before setting the mug down. Perhaps video planning can wait a little longer. He folded his arms and took on a relaxed position, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. “Well, you don’t have to tell me anything if you don’t want to, but there’s obviously a story here, and I must admit that now you’ve got me kinda curious!” he said. “And I’m in no real hurry to get started on my own stuff.”

Thomas glanced uncertainly at the men sitting either side of him. The one in the light blue polo shirt smiled encouragingly at him, but the other three looked uncertain. Thomas sighed. “Okay, but you have to promise not to tell anyone else-”

“-Not that anyone else will probably believe you,” said the one in the hoodie.

“…and promise not to freak out.”  

Geoff gave a light-hearted scoff. “Please, I’ve been involved in a lot of crazy stuff over the years,” he said, thinking especially about some of the things Layne would come up with for video shoots. Geoff smiled, but paused when he saw Thomas’ expression. “I promise. Oh, and I’m Geoff, by the way.” He took another step towards the couch and held out his hand. Thomas stood up and shook it.

“I’m Thomas,” said Thomas, “and these-” he moved to stand next to Geoff. “-are, well, it might be better if I show you something first.” He then spoke to the other men still on the couch. “Okay guys, go back in please! I’ll call you all back shortly, probably.”

Geoff was about to ask Thomas what he meant by “show you something”, but then his gaze focused on the couch, and his eyes widened. Before his very eyes, the four other men had quite literally faded from view, going from solid, to translucent, to completely gone in just a few seconds, so that now it appeared that Geoff and Thomas were the only people in the room.

Thomas turned to Geoff. “Look, I know this is still probably gonna sound really crazy, but those were-, are literal representatives of different aspects of my personality – my “Sides”, I call them – and actually there’s a couple other Sides as well but those four are sorta the ‘main ones’, and I’m probably not doing great at explaining this because they’re usually only seen by others when they want to be seen by others! And we weren’t planning on you being able to see or hear them – not that I’m saying it's your ‘fault’ or anything, but…” Thomas trailed off helplessly.

A small bell of familiarity was ringing in the back of Geoff’s mind, but the rest of his brain was trying to process the whole ‘different aspects of one personality’ thing. “…Like Inside Out?” he asked, remembering the sequel he had watched at the cinema not too long ago.

Thomas brightened a little. “Yeah! Sorta!” he replied. “But a bit more complex than that, I guess you could say. I could introduce them properly if you’d like?”

“Please, go right ahead!”

“Alright, first of all, meet Roman.” Thomas lifted up his hand in the direction of the couch, and Roman faded back into view. “He represents my creativity, my imagination, and, well, he’s also my romantic side.”

Roman looked away, a reddish hue on his cheeks. “I’m sorry again about all that,” he said to Geoff, not meeting his eyes. “I honestly wouldn’t have acted that way if I knew you could hear me!”

Geoff smiled reassuringly at him. “It’s all good, no harm done,” he replied.

“Next up: Logan!” said Thomas, again lifting his hand. Logan, who wore thick, black square glasses, a black polo shirt, and a dark blue striped tie, faded back onto the couch just as Roman had, and nodded at Thomas in greeting. “Logan is my logical side,” Thomas explained, “he represents my knowledge, my rational thinking, my reasoning, that sort of thing.”

“Yes, and may I highlight the fact that I was the one who stopped Roman from taking things too far just before?” said Logan with more than a hint of smugness.

“Yes, well done,” Geoff replied. Roman folded his arms and made an indignant humph sound. “…but I can’t exactly stop people from fantasising, and it’s not Roman’s fault that I heard what was obviously meant to be a private conversation!” Roman brightened at that, and turned to Logan and poked his tongue out at him. Geoff laughed. Oh yes, I know this dynamic well.

Thomas then introduced another Side. “Now it’s Patton’s turn!” Patton wore glasses similar to Logan’s, though a little more rounded. His polo shirt was like Logan’s as well, but sky blue instead of black, and he had some sort of grey hoodie tied over his shoulders. “Patton represents my emotions, as well as my moral compass and inner child.” Patton beamed and waved happily at Geoff. Geoff waved back, and noticed the symbol on Patton’s polo shirt, which wasn’t a brand logo like Geoff had initially assumed. It was a small picture of a smiling heart with glasses on it. Geoff looked at Logan’s polo and was unsurprised to see a picture of similar form, but this one a brain wearing glasses.

“Let me guess,” said Geoff to Thomas, “Logan represents the brain, and Patton represents the heart?”

Logan smiled approvingly. “Very astute!” he said. Patton nodded eagerly and clapped his hands in delight.

“Well finally,” said Thomas, “meet Virgil!” Geoff was a little surprised when Virgil, instead of fading in gradually like the other three, instead simply popped into view in the blink of an eye. His hair was tinted with purple, his face was paler than the others, and he wore heavy black eyeshadow underneath his eyes. “Virgil represents my anxiety, but he’s also my self-preservation and my fight-or-flight response!” Virgil gave Geoff a nod and a two-fingered salute in greeting.

Geoff turned to Thomas. “So you said none of them can usually be seen out in the open except when they want to be? Is that right?” he asked.

Thomas shrugged. “Don’t ask me how it works, but basically, yeah,” he said. “I’m a YouTuber, and sometimes these guys get involved in some of my videos, and that’s when we can pass it off as it all being ‘me’ the whole time, y’know?”

The bell that had been ringing in Geoff’s brain grew louder. “Actually, I think I do know,” he replied, “and I think I might have an idea why I could see and hear your Sides? It might be totally unrelated, but…”

Thomas looked at him curiously. “Oh?

Geoff rubbed the back of his neck. “I guess you could kind of say I have something similar,” he said. “Not exactly a ‘different aspects of personality’ situation, but, well, I suppose I might as well show you?”

This Geoff guy has Sides too? Okay, well, maybe not Sides exactly, but still, of all the explanations for Geoff being able to see and hear the Sides when he wasn’t supposed to, Thomas hadn’t considered this one.

Geoff took a couple steps away from Thomas and looked to the side, saying something too quiet to hear. Then Thomas and the Sides watched in shock and amazement as Geoff seemingly split into five people, with all of the "copies" of Geoff stepping out of the original Geoff, one-by-one. Thomas wasn’t quite sure whether this made things make sense, or whether he was just now more confused, but either way, it seemed like he and Geoff did have something to talk about after all.

I have heard maurader fans admitting mauraders bullied Severus but it's okay because "someone should have done it" and everyone took it with a grain of salt, it was funny. But god forbid a Severus fan says his abusive treatment towards kids was funny.

If you can like Barty who tortured Neville's parents to insanity, which doomed Neville for the rest of his life and traumatized him further by using Crucio in front of him, I can't like a guy who was verbally abusive to kids? I don't get your moral standards. If you can't handle Severus fans, you won't be able to handle Bellatrix or Voldemort fans.

It's fine to not like Severus because of him being abusive to children, you're allowed to not forgive him for that, that's a valid reason! But then liking regulus and Barty in the same breath for reasons that are completely made up? Interesting.

We do know a bit about canon regulus, I thought you were his fan? He isn't a completely unknown character like Mary McDonald or Dorcas Meadows is. He was anti Voldemort at the end but that doesn't mean he was pro muggle rights. He likely died as a blood supremacist, which means he wouldn't mind if Harry and the others were killed off, something that Severus would not be okay with.

Being attacked for not tagging properly is not a little thing, it's quite literally basic fandom etiquette. It's the same as reading a fanfic you thought was good but then it has untagged incest. I desperately wish you hadn’t ruined Shaemond just because you didn’t like the backlash against Qoren — it seems you’re going in a completely different direction out of spite. I know people can be genuinely shitty but you punished your readers too.

You’re a good writer, that’s not the issue but it really feels like 2 separate stories since you had Shaera marry Qoren and it’s not even enjoyable to read anymore because the characters have changed so much, the story feels disjointed and you can tell it wasn’t a natural progression of change. I’m really gunna miss Shaemond and the ending that could’ve been.

man idk what to tell you then cause this has always been the plan for Shaera and aemond and Qoren if you look at my old edits and posts. It’s always been planned this way. If I was *really punishing* shaemond fans, which you claim, shaemond wouldn’t still be endgame and they wouldn’t have any more arcs. I also just wouldn’t be writing the fic.

This is so incredibly rude and idk what you thought was the point of this. Shaera and Aemond are my favorite and I think that’s pretty obvious with how I still make aemond sympathetic despite his developing monstrosity and still vehemently push them as endgame, WHICH ALSO WAS ALWAYS THE PLAN!! Like the foreshadowing was in the feast chapter (chapter 3 I think) or even in the very first one. It’s all been there with Helaena’s riddles too. Mind you, tragedy and betrayal and angst and love triangles have been tagged since the beginning.

God I shouldn’t even reply to this but yes people were shitty. If I was punishing them, I’d block them, which I did, so now they can’t read my work. Everyone else though? Y’all still have access to the work and I’m still updating when I can. Sorry that the story is going through plot progression? Idk why y’all expect perfect shaemond (there never has been btw, even in their best moments, there’s always been underlying tension). Luke is dead. Shaera is forced by duty and doing the best she can. Aemond is flipping out and spiraling into something terrible without Shaera there, and he’s gonna blame her! Qoren has always been very pro-Shaera, and he’s always been flirty and kind. Shaera has admitted to herself she would go with Qoren if not for aemond, but now aemond has killed her brother and all she knows is that he was celebrated and he seemingly went along with it. What do you expect her to do?

Grovel on her hands and knees for his forgiveness?

Listen, you can be upset about this arc and you can stop reading or think the story sucks now, and that’s fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and all you need to do is drop the fic and go read other ones! There’s plenty where the fmc and aemond stay together throughout it all and there’s no problems, and that’s fine! There are a ton of talented fic writers out there for this fandom especially!

But don’t get in my mentions behind anon claiming I’m punishing my readers because of the story direction I’m going for the fic I’m writing, and have been writing for myself since season 1. I’m very grateful for all my readers, always have been, always will be, because even when I was on deadline for school or sick in treatments or just struggling in general, I still made and will make time for my readers and this fic because I love them and shaemond and shaera and Qoren, and I enjoy the act of writing.

Update!!!!!!!!

Hey Y’all!!

Here is the start of hopefully monthly updates. I know in my last update I said I was going to be more consistently here and active. Obviously, that didn’t happen lol. Trying to hold myself to that rn. So this is probably going to be the format for all of my update posts, just so they are easier to follow.

Refresh:

So I am almost completely done with the blog refresh. I think all that is left is updating links and getting some other posts (ex: theme days) made/redone. Most of that got put on the back burner due to how long they were going to take lol. But hopefully, over Spring Break, I’ll be able to get those done (no promises, another thing I’m trying to do, is be more realistic about what I want to get done by when so). 

Writing/Other Content:

Ik I said I’d write more. Once again didn’t really happen. Well, I have written a decent bit, but never finished anything. There is one fic that I am going to try and work on after this week (midterms lol) and have someone look over it (the first time I’ve had a beta reader, look at me go lol). Like the blog as a whole, I am trying to organize my writing, like requests and my ideas and what is going out when etc. (@ any of the other writers if you have any suggestions of what to/where to organize my stuff so it doesn’t get all confusing and mixed up you should def let me know). Speaking of requests, I am going to try and do at least two requests a month. That doesn’t sound like a lot but for me, that feels like something I can realistically do. I will be doing old requests first because even though they are years old at this point, I liked the ideas so I genuinely want to write them. I am still going to be accepting new requests (esp because sometimes that helps spark creativity/help with writer’s block so feel free to send in any ideas!!) but I will try to get those older ones done first. As for any other content (playlists, moodboards, IG edits, drawings, etc.) I am also taking requests for those so feel free to send in any of those requests too.

As of rn the second hockey blog has not been “released”. I want to catch up on things for this blog before I throw that into the mix and try to grow that as well. I am hoping to add that sometime this summer. Also, I do technically have a sideblog already (@samistheman) which is normally where I reblog random things, and I don’t really have tags for that blog I just kinda willy-nilly reblog there (it used to be mostly PJO stuff but now that’s kind of here because of how much of it there is lol).

Life Update:

College is a lot rn. I’m doing 17 credit hours and tbh do not know what possessed me to do that. At first, I was doing pretty good, but now not so much. Like I said earlier I have midterms this week. If y’all didn’t know this, I’m shit at taking tests so not doing great rn. Thankfully one of my classes ends on Sunday so at least I don’t have to worry about that. I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life recently that is impacting a lot so trying to navigate that as well. I am moving out in May, which is yes months from now but there is still a lot that I need to do beforehand. Anyway, I’m going to a college hockey game on Thursday and I am super excited. I haven’t been able to go to a game since October. Also little fun update, I’m going on a weekend (work) trip to Boston. Super excited for that. I’ll be getting to go to a Celtics game and a Red Sox game (I’m a Royals girlie tho). I’ve never been to an NBA game so that’s for sure gonna be really cool. I’ve been to many MLB games before but this will be my first at a different stadium. Anyway, I think that is it for this update. Hope y’all are doing well!!

You all I FINALLY got a Playstation 5 a month ago (so happy!!!) and while the 90% of the owners of a PS5 are talking about THAT wizard game which name I’ll not say I’m here, obsessed with Detroit Become Human. I mean I wanted to play it since the day it was released (five years ago lmao I know I’m late) but I couldn’t because I didn’t have the console but now I do and I knew it was great but OH MY GOD I didn’t except to be THAT GOOD. IT’S A MASTERPIECE. IT’S ONE OF THE BEST GAME EVER CREATED. Like I bought it 4 weeks ago and I already did 3 different walkthroughs (yes that’s why I haven’t been a lot on tumblr lately sorry about that) but I can’t wait any longer to talk about it so here you go, my opinions about this awesome game and everything I loved about Detroit Become Human who none asked for. You’re welcome (if you are following me for Braime or something else and you don’t want to see things about Detroit Become Human don’t worry just filter/block the tag, I tag all the posts).

- Always loved the games where a story takes different ways because of your choices (my icon is literally a screen from a game who works that way) and this one has like 99+ different endings based of how you played and most chapters have like 5 different endings like hello??? I love this???

- The screenwriting is terrific. Amazing. And I don’t mean only the story, but the dialogues and characters too. The characters OH MY GOD. There isn’t a single positive character that I didn’t get attached to and none of them is stereotyped, not even the villains. Fuck David Cage, why you didn’t write GOT??? It’s a totally different story from DBH, but I know you could have done better than Dumb & Dumber. Before buying it, I was 100% positive to do every single choice even the worst ones who would get every character killed but now I can’t??? I love them all???

- I wish the story was longer. It wasn’t short at all, but the story was that profound and beautiful and I love these characters I wanted more????

- Loved how they showed the way androids were treated by humans. They didn’t show a lot of the violence humans did to androids because they didn’t need to. Because you could feel it. Seeing public places with “Androids not allowed” on the door and seeing them in the bus being in a limited space for them separated from the humans exactly like it happened to jews and black community in the past. Also the camps where in the end they put the androids to exterminate them look intentionally like Extermination Camps (even in the game itself they say so). A punch in the stomach.

- Loved that most of the characters are androids. The only human character of the protagonists is Hank, literally everyone else is an android and this was perfect. This is a story about androids. They are the ones who are being oppressed. And the humans in this story are pretty good in their villains roles.

- Thank God they didn’t put a romance as the main theme of the story, “an impossibile love between an android or a human” bullshit. This is a story about robots created by humans that were treated like objects, that were a property, who were selled on shops, and they were THAT oppressed they were able to develop emotions and their own personality and break their program to be themselves, people who wanted their freedom and start living as the living beings they are with dignity. This is what makes the story powerful.

- Loved that when Kara, Markus and Connor stop being machines and become deviants you see them fighting against an invisible wall until it’s destroyed, because that wall is their programming and breaking it means they’ll be free to be who they want, stopping being a machine and becoming a living being. Beautiful.

- Android Chloe being on the menu settings that talks to you sometimes but when you finish the story for the first time she tells you she feels different and ask you the permission to leave to discover herself and if you say yes she thank you and leaves??? I don’t know who had this idea but he/she is a genius

- The music. Gods. The music.

And the characters. Gods. Let’s talk about them.

- I knew Connor is loved by everyone and I fully expected to don’t like him that much. I was wrong. I love him.

- I don’t know what the fuck is going on between Markus and Simon, but there isn’t a single logical heterosexual explanation for them. Actually wait, I kinda know what’s going on 😁

- Never romanced North in any of my walkthroughs and never will. I love her but fuck it, if Simon can’t have Markus, NONE CAN.

- I love Ralph. So much. He deserved more screen time! They put him there to scare you with him being mentally unstable and always with a big knife in his hand (pretty sure he killed people too but shhh), but he’s like that because of trauma!! Someone help him and give him some love and therapy!! It’s crazy that they worked so hard making him so interesting when some players don’t even know of his existence since he has like 10 minutes of screen time and you met him only if you do certain choices. Again, the writing is killing it.

- Loved that Zlatko got killed (at least in my walkthrough) from the androids he tortured for fun. Poetic cinema. Freeing them from their cells so they could kill him was one of the best choices I made in this game.

- Protect Simon at all costs. Him and Ralph are the kings in being cinnamon rolls.

- I know a lot of people ships Hank and Connor, but I actually got the Father/Son dynamic from them? I can see why someone like them as a romantic couple, but I see them like a Parent and his kid, like Joel and Ellie from the Last of Us. They have the best non romantic relationship of the game.

- North, Simon and Josh following Markus wherever he goes being ready to die every time, even if they disagree with his approach. Wow. That’s fucking loyalty.

- Markus has the best story, Connor the best arc and Kara has the most anxious story (with better plot twists). At least in my opinion. Everyone is the best in something.

- Loved that Kara and Alice met Luther because of Zlatko. After that awful experience with him, it’s good to know that it brought something positive too.

- I fangirled everytime two of the three main characters of the game met, I didn’t even know it was possible??? I fangirled even more when I saw the choice of making Connor a deviant.

- It makes sense that Connor becomes a deviant at the end, since he was created to stop deviants, he needed more time to evolve and to break his program. I just wished i saw more of him with Markus and the Jericho group fighting together against the humans, the humans he worked with before, and I wanted him to interact with Simon, since if previously you did different choices, Simon would have died because of Connor. Maybe if you pick certain choices they meet? I don’t know.

Everyone should play this. Everyone should know this amazing, profound story. This isn’t game, this is an experience. It has been done with passion. Passion from everyone. From David Cage who created this story and these characters and from the actors who played them with such emotion. Part of me wish they made a series they already have the actors since the characters have the actors’ appearance well maybe except the actress who played Alice I imagine she grown up but actually nope, the game is already with great cinematography and music and acting, it looks already a series. A great series.

okokok soo there r a few different places u can start :33 there r like 4 campaigns that r easy to access.

there’s the main one Riptide!!! which is what i post about most :3 theres pirates and gay people and idk i’m really bad at summarizing things. but very much found family and a good mix of seriousness and silliness :] this playlist has all the episodes in order (108 episodes…. it’s very daunting. i stared watching at about 80 episodes i think?) it’s currently still going (and according to the dm, grizzly, about halfway through!)

the other on going camping is prime defenders !! idk anything about pd rlly, except that it’s like teenage/young adult superheroes? and i think it starts pretty lighthearted but gets way more serious. i barely know anything about this campaign tbh. i think there’s 5 episodes on the youtube and the rest is on patreon (there may be a totally approved playlist with the patreon episodes though. idk tho) this is the first episode tho !

then one of the two completed campaigns is APOTHEOSIS!!!!! i think apotheosis is tied with riptide for my fav campaign :] i think u might like apoth, idek know how to properly summarize it it’s so so good. like. godslaying, queer people, sex jokes, religion, angst, it’s amazing . i can’t pick a fav pc either it’s so so good. the first episode is on youtube and the rest (12 or 13 i think) are on patreon (i have a link to a totally approved and public playlist tho if u want it). it’s genuinely such a good campaign. i’m not an expert on it tho uhh if u wanna know more my good friend @/scrubbythebubble knows a lot about it :3

and last but not least BLOOD IN THE BAYOU!!!!!!!! ogh. i can’t even start this campaign is amazing. like horror? friendship? middle aged men? bugs? this is the campaign for u. charlie slimecicle is such a good dm. it’s a call of cthulu campaign but if u don’t know the mechanics they’re explained very well through the campaign . it’s genuinely so so good it’s given me the shivers so many times. the first episode is on youtube and the last 3 are on patreon. the last 3 episodes r audio only so i sadly don’t think there’s a totally approved playlist out there 😔 it’s rlly good tho just uh. quite a few content warnings

Coming here is so comforting I swear. Sometimes I go through the pro ship tag to see what people are doing and saying cause idk if I should consider myself pro shipper or not, cause some of the stuffs I read are definitely too dark and taboo for a lot others but at the same time I know that I do not need to label everything about myself so I'm like well I like this thing and that other thing and that's it. But it makes me kinda angry seeing people só easily and simply judge others based on what they like as if it immediately makes them a bad person, as if thoughts are harmful and dangerous like they're actions.

And I hate specifically when I myself feel uncomfortable with what I like cause I know that rationally it makes no sense but???

Have you ever felt like that? Writing and reading things that have made people mad™? And if so how do you deal with it? Most of the time I'm pretty good at just being like 🙄 but sometimes it just bothers yk

It’s sort of this new wave online where media literacy has been tossed out the window. Honestly just any critical thinking. And people are so scared of being criticized or hated on that they’re quick to jump on what’s considered ‘the correct’ bandwagon

Like some 1984 shit where they’re off tattling to Big Brother cause you like something they find an issue with 🙄

But to answer for real, I think it bothers all of us who enjoy/write/read darker content (hell even in the dead dove community some people get crap for liking things that other find distasteful—like bitch we’re all in the same boat lmao)

Not sure if it’s much of an answer but I’m the same as you; I do tend to overlook it, let it slide off my back so to speak. I’ve also taken to blocking a lot more than I ever have before. If I see a blog sharing or spouting off about censorship of any form or fucking asinine comments like “people who like x y z should just kill themselves” then they’re blocked and off my feed for good.

It pisses me off though; I really don’t understand where this purity policing and being jerk asses to strangers online started to pick up speed. They can go back to their sad little chat rooms and bitch to each other in that echo chamber and leave the rest of us to enjoy our online experience without being hated on (but no they gotta feel like they’re in the right 😒)
