pls tell me im not crazy and nami indeed had a horrible character assassination post-timeskip. the new chapter of her whining like a baby actually has me baffled. who is this???? this is not the nami i loved!! she was never the "sakura stereotype", give her back!
Ty for the spoilers anon idk how many times I have to say I only read the officials and you will know when I've read it because I stream the chapters.
And yes you are going crazy she has literally always run away, whined and cried at danger ever since she's been allowed to open up and stop having to pretend to be brave after Arlong Park. She's literally close with Usopp (and Chopper) for that very reason, she's complained and sobbed to Luffy multiple times due to Luffy pulling them into danger she wanted no part of. I strongly advise you to go back and re-read One Piece if you think Nami sobbing or whining at any sign of danger or peril is character assassination lmao

AITA for asking my mom to stop singing?
okay so a couple months back i (a uni student) moved out of my old apartment and back in with my parents while i try to find a new one. the only issue is, since i first moved away, my parents had moved into a smaller house than they had when me and my siblings were growing up. they now have their bedroom and my dad's study, but no additional bed or guest rooms. for this reason, i have been sleeping on their living room couch.
my mom also doesn't have a room of her own, so her laptop is also in the living room, as is mine. so basically the living room is our shared domain for the time we spend at home. i have class and friends to spend time with, so i'm away relatively frequently (though i'm on winter break now of course), while my mom is retired and is at home basically 95% of the time year-round.
me and my mom both listen to music a lot and our tastes do not overlap basically at all. i listen mostly to indie, folk, rock, the kind of stuff white queer kids love, while my mom's music is almost entirely soulful christian pop about big j and stuff.
up until recently, my mom didn't wear headphones. she'd play music directly from her laptop speakers. this obviously bothered me somewhat, but i hadn't said anything about it. recently (i.e. a couple weeks ago) i asked her if she'd consider starting to wear headphones, which she has for the most part, though sometimes she forgets. i just kinda let her do whatever if she does, i haven't mentioned it again since.
so that's the first time i asked my mom to be quieter, and i don't think i'm an asshole for that. my worry is about the second time. you see, over the last week, she's taken to singing along to her tunes. maybe she did that before and i just didn't notice over the actual song itself? anyway, i can definitely hear it now.
and of course it's not the best musical performance, it's a lady with little singing experience belting along to her favourite songs, but it's not really about the quality of the singing. i don't like the music she likes and would prefer not to listen to it, is all.
today, whilst she was singing, i gently asked her: "could you stop singing?" i didn't mean forever, just in that moment. i really tried to say it in a nice way, and i don't think i sounded particularly rude? it should be noted, though, that my parents do seem to think of me as some kind of sensitive sally intent on criticizing every little thing they do. that feeling does kind of go both ways, but i admit sometimes i can be harsh on my mom, because she can be overbearing and a bit neurotic, and i don't really get to have the space i wish i could, especially not now when i'm living with them.
anyway, so i ask: "could you stop singing?" and my mom says something like "okay- well, i would prefer not to." the way she said it really made it sound like i had hurt her feelings. so i said, "okay. that's alright. you can sing." she stopped singing and has been sort of running around for the last 10 minutes or so restlessly doing random things.
my parents are that kind of people who are really really deep in "politeness" and genuinely baffle me since i'm autistic (like, a couple of days ago we had some leftover cake, and my dad straight up forced me to take half of what was left over even though i said i didn't want it. i still don't really know why?) so i'm sure even though i said "okay, nevermind then," my mom didn't believe me.
while she was running around doing random things, i told her, "sorry if i hurt your feelings." and she said, "oh, it's nothing." i genuinely don't know if i'm in the wrong here. i feel like, on the one hand, this is a space we have to share, and i should have the right to ask her not to make noise (i always wear headphones and never sing along to music or vc with friends when my parents are around), but on the other hand, it's her house, and she should have the right to sing in it, right? i don't know.
TL;DR: i asked my mom to stop singing in the only space for our computers in the house and i'm pretty sure it upset her. AITA?
What are these acronyms?

New anon. I've been a few reading your thoughts and general posts, and I really agree so strongly to many of them. Some of my biggest pet peeves in the story were really how weirdly disjointed it felt, with missing reasoning and foundation? If I may share my thoughts? I wish they had genuinely focused more on characters besides Zelda, because by the end of the storyline, and having watched all the tears, I was left more confused and empty, and not satisfied at all. Not to be rude to Zelda, but I really stopped caring about her because I was so hyperfocused on wanting to know more about the Zonai, Sonia, the Sages, and Ganondorf... and then nothing, well except two tears, and they gave almost no plot relevance? It was such a pity. The sages? Who? Why? How? Every sage showing the exact same memory with only a tiny bit of their personality sprinkled, but nothing about them as sages made me miffed. Ganondorf felt really like a missed opportunity, I think you, other anon's and everyone has already said it. In my words: Lost potential. I don't even need a big sobstory or anything, a monologue like in WW? Yeah he's angry that the Zonai are wasting their "god like powers" but WHY is he so angry about it? How are the lives of the Gerudo? Why are they split? Even if he was raised to crave power, just getting more of a look at why would have been nice. The Gerudo sage would have been a perfect candidate to get some explanation. (I'd have much preferred that over some of the more slice-of-life Zelda tears tbh.) I know it's called "The legend of ZELDA!" But I always took that to be more along the lines of "This is the legend of Zelda, but we (the player) see the legend from behind the scenes." Zelda being a major player and royalty would obviously be more interesting to in-universe historians, and easier to write down, with Link always just being "The hero clad in green!" But us, as the player, we see what really occurred, how the hero came to be, and that he's not "just a hero" but he's actually just a guy, who then takes up the mantle of hero. I just wasn't too invested in Zelda's story, especially since she's just background noise for a lot of the story. (Idk how to best word it, pardon me.)
Hello, thank you for the ask and sorry for taking so long to reply!!
Yeah, I mean I don't even think that Zelda got much opportunity to be a character either, despite her being the throughline for most of it. I don't feel like I learned anything new about her character that I didn't know from BotW, and some aspects developed in that game were gone entirely. As you said, she does feel like background noise, a witness to other people's story. Her nerdiness is set-up and then never really paid off (despite her and Mineru interacting), she gets no personal interaction with Ganondorf... I actually don't think they ever speak to one another directly, for the whole game????
Just went out to check that out and... Ganondorf says Zelda's name to her once, then Zelda asks him how he knows their name. That's it. That's the entire sum of their conversation in the entire game, and it happens in the first 5 opening minutes. Unless you count fake Zelda, but even then that would only be a single sentence, and honestly I don't think it counts?
The more I dig around and the more I'm truly baffled by some of the narrative choices made in this game. Like I want to be Normal about it again (and managing, slowly, just getting through the last asks) but.... honestly I don't understand what happened. The straight up refusal to build up any kind of actual dramatic tension between the leading trio is so baffling to me. Like, not to dip back into the TotK Rewrite Well, but: why didn't they fully commit to the OoT route, since they were already so far down, where Zelda is the only one to suss out Ganondorf is out to get them, and so the tension is concentrated between the two of them, where she tries to save Rauru and Sonia from his scheme but can't (which would also give weight to her sacrifice as she turns into a dragon)? Then you'd have an actual reason to feel invested in the plot and want to avenge her and those she cared about! Why are the stakes so split out between Rauru, Zelda and Mineru, to the point where nothing has any oomph and you, as Link, feel pretty much uninvolved in the entire situation?
Like, sure the buildup to the final fight was amazing, the soundtrack is sooooo sososo good, the mood and ambiance is probably at its best, the fight itself is a little treat, but. I really felt like I was a Hyrule appointed cop having to walk into the freaky abandoned basement and yelling "sir I've been mandated by the royal family to formally ask you to stop dumping experimental chemicals into the sewers of the kingdom" to the local weirdo squatter in his broken hot tub, and then fighting about it.
But personal investment and stakes really didn't land for me. I was glad to see Ganondorf, tho I would have prefered him telling me anything other than generic anime villain stuff before repeatedly punting my face into the floor. But yeah. The story was disjointed, and it kept me from enjoying the extremely carefully crafted mechanics to their fullest capacity. :(

I just saw some of your posts regarding your day and how horrid people are treating you at the library and in general and you don't deserve that. No one deserves that!
I am so sorry that people are rude and being hurtful for the sake-of.
Hey thank you friend 💜 I'm alright now. It just baffles me. I mean I literally did not even know that guy was there, and it didn't even register that he was talking to me til half, 3/4 the way through him going off on me. It is genuinely just weird how people treat me sometimes.
Anyways. How's your day? Anything fun or interesting? I'm about to see if there's anything to eat. I had a tomato, mozzarella, cucumber, and onion mix that I munched on earlier but I am all of a sudden really hungry.

Hey, don't let rude anons get to you. I know that it's easier said than done, but they're just not worth your time. People will comment shit on anything, and it only proves how worthless they are.
I'm sorry that you do receive them though. I know that it's not a good feeling. Just know that I personally love your fics, and a vast majority of us TF fans appreciate your work so much!
Take care!
This is such an incredibly kind thing to say, I'm genuinely touched, thank you!! I get little insults in the replies of my work from time to time and I think I just get so caught up in the "Why?" with those comments, and from there I get stuck. It's just so incredibly baffling to me that someone would stumble upon something they dislike and then spend actual energy letting the person who made it know. The level of immaturity and entitlement borders on baffling.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this message, I really mean it when I say I've got lots of self esteem issues when it comes to my writing, so comments like these genuinely help me keep going when times get tough. I hope you have a fantastic day!!

something that has alwayssss baffled me about the audio drama world is that 85% of its creators tend to genuinely believe that because they made something, no one should criticize it. the amount of times i’ve seen creators screenshot or cite negative reviews (that are just a person saying they didn’t like the show for very normal and understandable reasons) complaining about how mean and ungrateful the reviewer is for not considering...that a lot of hard work was put into the show? well, let's just say that number isn't zero, and it's truly baffling.
i'm sorry to break this apparently brand new information to you but. that's how every single piece of art ever put out into the world works. just because you put a lot of effort and care and love into your podcast doesn't mean people aren't allowed to dislike it, or express that dislike. obviously people shouldn't be unnecessarily rude, but also this is the internet and sometimes people just are. and i think you're allowed to be hurt by that, because that's normal, but i don't think even then you're allowed to argue the fact that they are just allowed to dislike your creation. you are not entitled to someone's good opinion. you are not entitled to someone's positive review. and whining about the fact that some people don't like your work is just immature and unprofessional.

The love is real! Part 3
Stephen strange x reader
Part 2 part 4
Tumblr media
What fix? She was baffled to think what he means, what are his feelings for her? Does he ever realise how she felt when he left her on their wedding night, even though she said so but she was new to everything, she needed to be clear of his feelings so she asked, "answer me this, why were you jealous?"
"I'm jealous because..." He hesitated, he didn't want to bring out his feelings, he could clearly see she wants to get out of there, he barely new the truth but he finally said, "because I like you".
Out of everything she didn't expect him to confess this quickly, it's hard for her to trust anyone, she won't let her heart break whatsoever. So she stared at him blankly not knowing what to say.
"Do you like me? Or atleast will you try to do so?" Stephen asked.
"I said, I don't dislike you" y/n said blankly her voice a little shakey.
"That's good" Stephen said smiling, his eyes teary too, both of them stared eachother with moist eyes, one scared to admit her feelings and one scared that he admitted.
She couldn't believe she could get genuine love, especially from a marriage which is for the sake of a mission she shrugged off and said, "I'm, going to have a talk with Kevin".
Stephen let's her go and says,
"yeah I'm going to check on them too, we could talk later as well you know?"
Talk! Yes talk. This was the right time to ask him something she's been wondering for so long she turned to him and enquired, "may I ask you something?"
She was afraid he's being kind what if she falls in love with him, what if he's not the kinda person he shows. His eyes lit up with this question, he asked, "sure what is it?"
"If you like me, then why were you rude that night? Why you left me alone in that room ? It really upset me".
"Just like you I too was confused , thinking about this marriage, I didn't intend to behave like that, but if I did, I'm very very sorry."
Is he still confused about the marriage? She thought, she must not get attached to him. So she runs and freaks out, "you're not my husband, I don't accept you".
Stephen sighs , no matter whatever he does she ain't listening, he sat on the stairs. He then finally speaks "you know if I had too, then I think I... Well I might".
She turns to him and snaps "you might what?"
He looks at and says "I might love you, in fact, I love you". These weren't the word she was expecting. They both stood still, he waiting for an answer and she, still processing what she heard and then when she got her senses back finally uttered "you what?"
"I love you" he said, she still can't believe it, is it real? All she ever wanted was a loving marriage, can this forced one would be a loving one any how? But no, what if he's lying, just so she stays till the mission and then he leaves her? She grew more stony and said "are you trying to claim me forcefully?"
To be continued....

Hi! I read your tags on the aro!LQG post and I wanna talk about it a little if you don't mind? (Disclaimer I'm rlly awkward so if anything sounds rude pls know I don't mean it to be.)
Okay so I feel like when Madam Meiyin talked about SQQ's fated person LQG did think that it was him, because I'm pretty sure no one else knew LBH was still alive by then (cmiiw)? To be fair the traits could be used to describe LQG which is hilarious so it's probably deliberate for comedic effect. When I read about LQG getting more aggravated by Madam Meiyin's prediction, I deadass thought he was just baffled like "why is this random demon telling that I'm SQQ's soulmate??? this is definitely bullshit we shouldn't continue listen to her." and so the rest is history hahah. I had thought it was really funny for LQG to be self-conscious about the prediction and so unhappy about it.
Anyway yeah that's it. Sorry for bothering you I just want to talk :')
first things first, you didn’t bother me at all!! this ask actually made me smile because i don’t engage a lot with the svsss fandom…or just any fandom in general, in discussions so i was happy to see someone reach out to me to just get to talk. second of all, i did a reread of that scene purely to see from a better pov than i did when i first read it and it truly is something.
**what is even more something is how much i write, hence why i put this “keep reading” sign.
hopefully any of it is salvageable :’)
the laughable thing about all this is that i genuinely feel like sqq regarding that scene in that … it just did not occur to me that lqg could possibly have been who madam meiyin was talking about. there was not a single brain-cell that considered lqg was thinking along those lines as you said where he was like “what the hell, is this stranger insinuating i’m sqq’s soulmate?”. while sqq didn’t consider any guys at all, in my case, i think i was very biased bc of how much i love bingqiu that any other character who may have an infatuation with our mc just wasn’t in the cards for me.
reading your own interpretation of that scene, i feel dumb now because it just seems so obvious. i said in my tags of that post you mentioned that that prediction can go both ways and madam meiyin’s words can apply to both lqg & lbh, i think.
“Your fated person has very little interest in others,” Madam Meiyin went on. “But once they find someone, their devotion is absolute.”
“A first-class beauty, peerless among all humans.” Madam Meiyin said with certainty.
i would also say this one below but i’m not too sure, since if we’re applying it to lbh, that “first meeting” would have been when he met sj!sqq, not sy!sqq so idk if the lines are just blurred there.
“Your first meeting was unhappy, and there might even have been loathing involved,” said Madam Meiyin. “But after a critical moment, that all began to change, and thoroughly so.”
but i can definitely understand now why the fandom are so rattled when it comes to lqg and his feelings for sqq, whatever they are. it now makes me curious to see fics that explore that, but i’ve also just been very wary of reading any svsss fic that isn’t centered around bingqiu as the main pairing😅
thank you for giving me your thoughts on that scene!! it honestly makes a lot of sense in reflection, and i feel like it definitely hits hard because whoever this “fated soulmate” this madam was talking about was, for both lqg & lbh, it reveals a certain depth in the impact that sqq has had on these two characters that they just end up sort of blurring the lines in this prediction.
which makes what happens during those years where lbh held onto sqq’s corpse and lqg constantly chased after him so much more heavy to think about…..

I think I'm a little late on this subject but that's ok. I read a lot of things about this new movie Priscilla that made me really scared of the evil of people, So many people on Tik Tok and Tumblr saying inhumane things like, 'Good thing Lisa died before she saw what a monster her mother was' or people saying that Cilla should be abused, killed and things like that. Don't get me wrong, I personally believe that everyone has the full right to express their own opinions (specifically about things or artists that you like) but this is getting genuinely scary.... You have the complete right to be disappointed or upset with Cilla but threatening her and saying mean things about Lisa's passing is completely inhumane! It's okay to express your opinions, but the moment your "opinions" violate other people's rights as human beings, they stop being "opinions" and start to become hate speech. I don't want to seem rude or anything like that, I just think there is a limit to everything.
(English is not my mother tongue so sorry for any mistakes)
I want to start off by saying that I agree with you. Everyone has the right to their opinions until those opinions go too far and become borderline scary and well.. just bat shit crazy. I’ve seen a lot of this as well and it’s honestly sad. I get that people hate her or dislike, whatever. That’s valid and everyone is entitled to their feelings and opinions. But wishing death, abuse or wishing murder on someone is so sick and ridiculous to me. I understand people hate her.. But when do we take things too far? On top of that if Elvis were to hear the the way people are wishing these things on her I doubt he’d be happy. I feel like people who say things like that forget the kind of person Elvis was and that was not someone who wished death or horrible things onto people no matter what.
For someone to wish something like that on a person you have to be very sick and twisted and honestly full of hate. Which all I have to know is how do you sleep at night? It’s not like she committed some like sick crime or something to warrant such disgusting things like that. It’s really not that deep. Then when they bring Lisa into it that baffles me. She knew her mother better than we will ever know. She clearly didn’t hate her mother as much as people claim or hoped she did. I can imagine she too would be disgusted by the things people are saying about her mother. Because I don’t know if people realize she’s always defended her mother. Whether people like that or not. It’s true. Just like any parent and child they had their issues. It’s normal. I mean, hey, if everyone has a perfect relationship with their mother then cheers to you! But being in the public eye the way they were because of Elvis it probably wasn’t easy on either of them. I’d also like to point out that the only two books written about Elvis that Lisa read and only ever liked written about him was her mother’s and Jerry’s.
But I digress. I don’t wanna rant any further. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But as you said.. Until those opinions become hate speech and death threats.
(Also your English is perfectly fine!)

WONDERLAND MASTERLIST ⇜ ᴘʀᴇᴠɪᴏᴜꜱ - ꜰᴏᴜʀ-  ɴᴇxᴛ ⟿
CHARACTER LIST:
White Rabbit - Choi Jongho Absolem (Blue Catterpilar) - Kang Yeosang Cheshire Cat - Kim Hongjoong Mad Hatter - Choi San Haigha (March Hare) - Jung Wooyoung Tweedle Dee - Song Mingi Tweedle Dum - Jeong Yunho Bloody Red King - Park Seonghwa
[Send me a DM, an ask or comment to be added to the tag list] Big thanks to my dear friend @smallfrye for making the banner <3
Tumblr media
“She, my friends, is going to trick the King.”
The room echoed with gasps from the crowd.
"Aaaabsolem," the Hatter sang "are you trying to take my place as the mad one? That is not very nice!"
"I'm dead serious. The King has obviously taken a liking to her, she came back to us with a dress and with her head still attached to her body. The King took her for a stroll in the garden! She's the only one that can get close to him. Get close to him, and kill him."
You tilted your head and furrowed your eyebrows as you looked at him in disbelief. Was he serious?
"Sir, or whatever it is I'm supposed to call a caterpillar, I'm not about to kill someone."
"Tell me, what are you going to do?"
You gulped. You didn't know what to do. You didn't know where you were, you weren't even sure you were alive. But from not knowing what to do to committing murder, it went a long, long way.
"I can help you get close to him. That is as far as I'll go. I don't know the laws of this place or the morals anyone has, but where I'm from you can't just kill someone."
The hatter walked closer to you and caressed your cheek.
"My dear, the only law in Wonderland is that you can't disrespect the King's wishes."
"And does the King wish to die?"
The Hatter laughed loudly.
"I supposed not... Sucks to be him I guess! Off you go!" The Hatter said, grabbing your old dress and pushing you into a room to get dressed back into the horrid black and red, heart-decorated dress.
Once you came back all of their faces scrunched in disgust. The King really had ruined red for everyone...
"Alright beautiful, hmm here's the deal," Cheshire told you, twirling and swirling around in the air before settling right beside you "I have so kindly volunteered to take you to the castle. You're not entering thought, you will lay right outside under one of the trees, and you will pretend to be passed out, as our dear Tweedles inform the King that they saw a pretty lady with a black and red dress passed out not far from the castle. The card Knights will bring you in and you will tell the King you were scared when he started yelling. Apologize. You have to apologize, make sure he knows that you think you're in the wrong, because if he starts thinking that you blame him for something he'll lose his mind... And you'll lose your head!"
His tongue grazed along his sharp teeth and he chuckled lowly.
"And that's where Hatter comes in. After a few days, you tell him that he should get a new crown, a bigger one, and you suggest him to commission one from your good friend Hatter. And when Hatter tries to get the measurements, he'll kill the king. Make sure you find the witch in the castle, the King keeps her locked in a cage where she can't perform her magic."
You looked around the room, meeting everyone's expectant (and slightly insane) eyes.
"Fine, but you have to promise that while I'm away you find a way out of here, to send me back home."
The Wonderlanders looked around, with uncertainty in their eyes. They agreed to the promise they knew they would never be able to accomplish. They didn't even know where to start! But if lying was a step closer to their freedom, then so be it.
After going over the plan once more, Cheshire escorted you to the palace. The trip was mostly quiet, aside from his incessant humming and occasional curious questions about your origins. Cheshire kind of scared you... Although he was quite small compared to everyone else you had met, something about him made him very eerie. Maybe it was the way he smiled so widely, maybe it was his sharp teeth or the way his fearless eyes stared at everyone with a seemingly ghoulish look, but the fact was that he scared you beyond belief.
"Hmm, we're here darling." Cheshire sang in his creepy, mellow voice.
You looked at him briefly and watched him disappear into thin air without so much as a goodbye.
You laid under the big tree. The stump was purple and its blue leaves formed a big heart (unsurprisingly), and the soft foliage slowly fell beside you as you tried your best to seem passed out. Soon enough you heard the familiar heavy footsteps and rustling of armor, and you assumed the card Knights were near.
"Miss?" A raspy, deep voice called, as the owner poked you with his sharp spear.
Classy.
You slowly opened your eyes and pretended to be confused with your surroundings.
"Miss it appears you have passed out. The King requires your immediate presence in the castle."
The faceless card Knight commanded two other Knights to pick you up, and so they did, carrying you to the castle not so gently. Once you were past the big, heavy gates you could see the King anxiously (or furiously, you couldn't quite tell) pacing around the big garden decorating the front of the castle.
"Here she is, my King."
The cards released you roughly, nearly pushing you onto the ground.
"Careful! Idiots!" The King yelled and scurried to help you.
He looked into your fearful eyes, and although he could not recognize emotions to save a life, he could tell something wasn't right.
"Should we go for a stroll? I must talk to you..."
You accepted the King's request by taking the hand he extended to you.
"I-I'm sorry for running away, I shouldn't have done that."
You looked down at the grass as you apologized, too afraid to look him in the eye.
"Do I scare you?"
You stopped dead in your tracks and glanced briefly at the King. His eyes were not evil but showed curiosity and hurt instead.
There was a conflict in you, between wanting to be honest and wanting to keep your head. You flinched suddenly as the King's cold hands held yours.
"Please be honest, if the reply must be yes I promise there will be no consequences..."
You gulped.
"Well... Yes, you do scare me a little."
The King looked at the ground, with an adorably confused expression and scrunched nose.
"I guess I could have guessed that... But please, what scared you? What can I do to... not scare you?"
You were baffled that the tyrant King of this land was willing to change for someone like you.
"You must calm down Seonghwa, the way you yelled at someone because of the roses really scared me... Especially the way you asked to get them killed."
The King looked genuinely confused.
"But darling, don't they look so much better in red? Besides, what am I supposed to do to the incompetent peasants?"
"Well, maybe you could reward the people who do well, so the people who don't do well will work harder!"
The King had a disgusted face as you suggested that.
"My darling they are hardly people..."
You looked at him apprehensively.
"Fine, I'll consider your proposal, but only if you join me for dinner. I want to get to know you better."
"I accept your invitation, I have some questions myself."
The King took your hand and lead you inside the palace and up the slippery marble stairs. Everything in the castle was adorned with gold, and every wall had a painting of the King. Both of your shoes clicked against the floor in a movie-like way as you made your way into the big dining hall, that had all types of expensive-looking food.
"Where should I sit?"
The King stood behind a chair right on the other end of the table.
"Here, of course, opposed to me."
You cocked your head and looked at him as if he was stupid.
"Seonghwa how are we supposed to talk if we're so far away?"
"Hm..." The King thought for a second, tapping his chin with his index finger "Well I suppose you could sit next to me."
You smiled and took a seat next to the one where the King sat. It was pretty obvious from the extravagant, unique chair that it was there where he usually sat to have his meals.
"Well, I don't mean to sound rude but I don't even know your name. What should I call you?"
You watched a frogman served the King a couple of slices of whatever animal was roasted and served in a silver platter in front of you. You hadn't even realized he didn't know your name.
"Y/N, my name is Y/N."
"Oh! What a peculiar name! Tell me, Y/N, what is it that you want to ask me?"

okay SO I got some drama to rant about
There's this girl in one of my classes named Aditi, and I fucking hate her. I don't want to hate her, but she makes it so damn easy. The entire school hates her at this point, which doesn't help haha
But anyways, she's in my business class, and SHE ALWAYS COPIES OFF OF ME. I'm fine with people copying my work once or twice cause I understand that sometimes you forget things or you have an off day; and that's fine, that happens every now and then. But this girls acts like she's entitled to copy off my work. Like what the hell??
She asked me about how I asked Jaden if he liked me, and I told her that I gave him a note, and she straight up told me that was stupid and cringey. And then she asked me "so, I like Jaden's friend Sasank, how do I tell him I like him?" I gave her advice AND SHE SAID IT WAS STUPID and I was like if you don't like my advice, don't ask me!!!!!
AND THEN (and this is the worst thing) she asked me about my ex. She literally asked me if he dated me because he felt bad for me. like, WHAT THE FUCK? WHO SAYS THAT??
I had so many mean things to say but I didn't say anything because I felt bad for hating her, but now I JUST CAN'T DEAL WITH HER. The audacity of this bitch I swear to god-
I genuinely don't know if I have the right to hate on her so much. Am I overreacting? I don't know and I honestly don't care anymore after the shit she's said to me
Okay my rant is over haha sorry about that :)
*grabs wine* spill!
SHE COPIES OFF YOU??? Well, she clearly doesn't think she's clever enough to do it herself. How is she entitled, is she like "Nasha gimme your homework so I can copy it"?
Well, this should go unsaid, but no one is entitled to anything from you, much less your work. Next time she does something like that, simply tell her "no." Sounds easier said than done right? But, hear me out, she'll probably be surprised because she didn't expect you to say no to her. She may act badly with you. But honestly, if she makes a scene, no one is going to be on her side for demanding your homework.
Ok, asshole move to bring up Jaden so close to the rejection, she's trying to get under your skin. Why was making fun of how you asked out Jaden necessary??? Like why be that unnecessarily rude??? And I cannot make out why she asked you for advice in the fist place if she was just going to dismiss you like that. Maybe she thinks you're friends, and she thinks it's a quirky dynamic?? Baffling.
I don't know much about your ex or if the relationship ended well or not, but regardless that is just bang out of order. How is it any of her business?? Why would she say any of that?? What is her problem???
Do not stoop to her level. She is acting like a brat, what you have to make sure is that you aren't a brat. She has enough audacity to fuel the Americas, but that's a show her character, not yours. Quite frankly, if you can't deal with her, shut her down, distance yourself, engage in minimal conversation — make it clear without being mean that you are not interested in a relationship with this girl. I don't think you're overreacting, what she said to you about your ex, about jade, about your advice was inappropriate and unecessary.
Maybe she's jealous of you? You are a lovely girl and maybe she feels she isn't? People don't behave this way if they're confident. I'm sure she doesn't feel clever or liked either. Remember to have empathy for others, no matter how fucking annoying they are. HOWEVER, empathy is not licence for someone to walk all over you. Be kind, but shut her the fuck down if she behaves this way again. This is not on.

i saw your reblog of the Spencer giving Aaron a father's day card thing and i can't stop thinking about how Aaron is the father figure to the entire team now.
(yes I'm also especially thinking about that one scene of Spencer and Derek stuck in the malfunctioning lift shrieking for Aaron just because. 🥴 dad!Hotch ftw!!!!!)
i know this concept has probably been done hundreds of times already but imagine: (SORRY THIS IS GOING TO BE A REALLY LONG ASK, I deeply apologise in advance)
[tw food/eating habits, some references to murder cases because you know this is Criminal Minds, some slight spoilers for people who haven't really watched the show and also reference & mention of autism & a character on the autism spectrum -> just a heads up, a disclaimer, I'm in no way diagnosed with autism, so if i have misrepresented autism, or made any mistakes, i apologise, it wasn't my intention, and i welcome all feedback & criticism — i genuinely want to learn]
a year after Spencer joins the BAU, Aaron notices & becomes very concerned over Spencer's (super bad) eating habits aka him only drinking coffee and forgetting to eat actual proper food when he gets absorbed in cases or research or reading etc -> which results in Aaron absolutely being like "hey Spencer let's grab lunch together" almost everyday just so Spencer eats (healthy, full meals)
(also Spencer picking up on this after Aaron "casually" gets him lunch/treats him to dinner/invites him over for meals for almost every day of the week and he was initially almost irritated/offended until he realised he could use Aaron's habit to make Aaron himself eat properly too because this hypocritical bastard doesn't eat properly himself either so every alternate day you can see Spencer purposely not going for lunch breaks while sneaking glances at Aaron's office just waiting for him to notice and drag them both to lunch together 😌)
also I really think Spencer is on the autistic spectrum (high functioning, imo, but I'm not really sure how this works, and I'd have to do more research) so I'd like to imagine Aaron knows that too because he's noticed Spencer's behaviors + Spencer got an official diagnosis and told him about it maybe 6-7 months into joining the BAU so I really think Aaron lets Spencer stim (physically, his hand gestures) on their lunch break because he knows that Spencer can't really do that in front of the others, so even when they're on cases, he would take Spencer out either for a private lunch or dinner or something, just the two of them, and he'd let Spencer stim & talk about any subject of his fancy as much as he wants to (I'm pretty sure someone wrote a fic like this and I absolutely can't remember the name or the author but I really LOVED the idea too)
initially Spencer was really taken aback too, because you know, this isn't something you do with your boss, of all people, but Hotch had always meant what he says and his facial expression and body language suggested that he was being absolutely sincere and serious about this, so Spencer tentatively started talking, and as their meal progressed, he eventually got comfortable enough to just go on, and not once did Aaron cut him off rudely, until the end of their meal, when Aaron couldn't continue to pretend to drink his soup because he'd finished it somehow with those incredibly small spoonfuls, and he'd had to gently tell Spencer that they had to go back, but Spencer wasn't upset, because he'd just got over an hour to talk about this recent seminar about the connection of ancient Greek mythology to the developments of the society in ancient Greece which no one had ever done for him before and he's full, satisfied and beyond elated because Hotch really didn't have to do this, but he did anyways
at first it was just something between them but eventually Derek noticed & like in the end I think it's a kind of open secret between Aaron, Spencer & Derek and now when Derek notices Aaron doing it he gives Aaron a small nod and he wards off & deals with the questions that the others have when they inevitably notices the private meals Aaron & Spencer has
speaking of Derek, Aaron definitely has 1 on 1 time with Derek too, but doing different things. Derek's thing is sports & home renovations, and he repairs/maintains cars & bikes when he can, and I like to imagine Aaron knowing about his hobbies and casually asking Derek about the home renovation he's working on one time (before or early S1) Derek came into his office to submit a case file, and Derek being kind of shocked/caught by surprised initially (because he knows Hotch has a soft spot for the kid because he's much younger and much, much more inexperienced but Derek's older and should know better, so Hotch won't do the whole private lunch thing with him, right?) but then he grins and starts telling Aaron about how "I got that place absolutely shining right now, man" and then he invites Aaron over to take a look at the place out of courtesy/habit (his mama raised him as a good, polite young man, and no way Hotch would even say yes right?) and to his surprise once again, Aaron does accept his invitation
after that one time, Aaron begins casually asking him about his projects and even starts offering to help him do some of the painting and decorating (to be fair, it calms Aaron too, to have a getaway from Haley and initially from the crying baby, because while he absolutely loved Haley and Jack with all his heart, some days, some days he just couldn't take it, all the stress from Strauss and from trying to be a good father unlike his own, and he had to take some time off to himself, and painting walls is calming and therapeutic to him in some sense) & Derek and Aaron start bonding over hotdogs while sitting out on the front porch of some halfway remodelled house, talking about the latest sports news (they support different baseball teams but that's okay, because Derek gets to grin at Hotch and ask him to pay up when Hotch's team loses to his, and Aaron gets to raise his eyebrows with that small knowing smirk of his and ask Derek to "complete this by the next weekend, will you" when Derek's team loses to his)
when Aaron recruits Penelope, he's read her file, or what little the FBI's cyberteam got on her anyways. he knows the Black Queen's reputation, and he knows that the cyberteam really don't trust her and recommended high levels of surveillance, but the moment he saw her through the glass of the interrogation room and her resume & application on pink paper, he knew that she's not just what the file said she is. initially, she sticks to the "bureau regulated office attire" because you know, Penelope knows she's lucky, she should've been jailed for what she did, she was jailed, until this Aaron Hotchner guy decided, somehow, that she was deserving to be on his team, even after looking at her resume, which she had written on pink paper out of pure spite (because nothing in the FBI rulebooks said anything about submitting your application on specialized coloured paper anyways) but she was moody and unhappy because she's stuck in this tiny office having to answer the phone whenever agents called to ask for details on icky, gruesome murders and disgusting, vile murderers so she decides that hey, since no one ever comes in here anyways, she might as well do some re-decorating right? so she starts bringing in her own soft toys and figurines and starts amassing a whole collection of soft, plushy, and colourful toys in because it's her office and if she has to deal with all these yucky stuff on a daily basis she's going to make it at least bearable to be in here
one day, some tall, stern looking guy just comes into her office with this Tupperware in his hands saying "hey, Garcia right? my wife made some extra cupcakes for the team, you want some?" and she asks "do i know you?" and he blinks, stands there for one, two seconds before- "sorry, i forgot we haven't actually met. Special Supervisory Agent Aaron Hotchner, assistant unit chief of BAU Team 1, nice to meet you," [i like to headcannon that before Boston & all, Hotch was Gideon's assistant, some kind of assistant unit chief probably, but while he wasn't yet the unit chief he was definitely taking care of most, if not all of the administration matters i.e. hiring new agents etc already because let's be real Gideon is caring & capable but really hands off sometimes (also in S1E1 Derek referred to Gideon as their Unit Chief so I assumed Hotch took over the position full time, officially somewhere between S1E1 and S1E2 or 3)]
and then Garcia's brain kind of short-circuits because holy shit this is her BOSS, aka the guy who somehow, crazily looked at her resume and decided to HIRE her and she just asked him if she knew him OH GOD ALL THOSE FIGURINES- and she tries to explain because she really didn't mean to break any rules with them and they aren't, are they? and she can remove them but just, please, she can't go back to prison.
but then Agent Hotchner just goes "hey, hey, Penelope. it's fine. I understand. this is your office, and you have the right to decorate it. I'm not going to fire you over.... My Little Ponies? and uh, some unicorns?" and Penelope can't help but laugh because he genuinely looks baffled by her collection on her desk, and did he just call her Penelope?
and after that, once, after a bad case that Aaron knew affected Penelope (it involved murdered parents & their only child left orphaned and it just hit too close to home for Penelope), he stopped by a local toy shop and bought the brightest, most sparkly, most colourful thing he could find in there (it ended up being a small figurine of a princess on a small, detachable throne that could light up and play some really funky pop music. Aaron cringed internally as he brought it over to the counter, and awkwardly nodded as the cashier asked, "buying this for your daughter, sir? she's going to love it, it's the latest in a collectable series" and he pretended to not see the questioning eyebrow that Derek gave him after seeing the package) and when he presented it to Penelope when they got back, he got the biggest and most bone crushing hug ever from Penelope because "aw that's so sweet, thank you! and you got me the latest in the collection! it's limited edition!" and it just ended up becoming a tradition — Penelope always looks forward to the end of a case now, not only because that means her people are coming home, safe, in one piece (sometimes debatable but still, they're coming home, to her) but it also means that Hotch has brought her yet another tiny figurine or souvenir to add to her collection and she can't wait to see what it is, and Hotch always, always, finds the time after they've wrapped up the case, before the jet leaves, to pop by a local toy shop to get both Penelope and later, when he's older, Jack some toys or souvenir from wherever state he's in, because he wants both of them to know, that despite all the bad out there, there is still good in the world, and they should never forget that
OKAY this ask is SUPER LONG already i apologise skfjsk i have ideas for JJ & Emily but idk if you'd even wanna continue reading them... (maybe.... give me a sign and I'll send another ask and write it? 🥴)
anyways this was just something that came up and i had to write it out 🥺 sorry for spamming you, i hope you're having a great day/night ahead.

Hi so I'm putting everything below the cut for scrolling purposes x
He is!!
Oh my god, I love that scene. It came up in a TikTok about ships, because Person A and Person B are both very smart when they're alone, but put them together and it cancels out, and it made me laugh.
I also love Dad Hotch. Like I love him as much as I love "fighting to keep his emotions in check because he needs to be a leader, but you can tell from the slight change in tone, or the slight glaze of his eyes that he's seconds away from crying" Hotch. Which is saying something.
DON'T APOLOGISE FOR LONG ASKS!! That's what the keep reading on posts is for :))
Oh I love how much Hotch cares about Reid, and of course Reid uses it to his advantage to get Hotch to do the same, because they're similar in that way. Also, he would definitely start grinning when Hotch looks down at his empty plate like: oh. Platonic Hotchreid is everything to me, because it's these two people that have been caretakers their entire life trying to look after another person that wouldn't let anyone do that and it's just... the HOTCH ANGST POTENTIAL THAT IS SO UNTAPPED!!!
Also, not a criticism of you, but from what I've heard from people is that functioning labels are harmful and shouldn't be used because it misrepresents the situation!
I love that idea though!! And Derek being protective over them so he's just like: no, you won't interrupt them, and I will take control of the situation for a few hours AAH!!
OH I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT MORGAN AND HOTCH BONDING!! It's so perfect!! I love the idea of Morgan teaching Hotch to do things, and Hotch realising how relaxing he finds it to do these things.
And because we can't have nice things: he refuses to go after Foyet breaks into his apartment because he doesn't deserve peace, but then Morgan just uses his key, drags him out, takes him to a house and presses a brush into his hand because he's not going to let his friend self destruct like this.
EVERYTHING ABOUT GARCIA!! OH MY GOD!! I need to get some work done, so I'm going to finish up there, but seriously!! Amazing!! I love the idea of Hotch getting her little figurines and stuff <33
(shameless self promo, she does the same for him in "and he will come back home" hehe)
I would love to hear the Emily and JJ ones!! I hope that's the sign you need :)
Don't apologise for spamming I was having a dull day, and I hope you have a good day too!

Find my Way Back Home V

Summary: Bucky Buchanan Barnes is smitten to a four insignia military officer—you. How do you think things will unfold?
 Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
 Word Count: 1,654
Warning: Swearing?
You were cleaning your guns when you heard a knock on your door. You glance at the clock right just above the door frame and when you saw what time it is, confusion plastered on you face. 24:30.
Who would be up this late? and most importantly knocking at your god damn door?
No one.
Never did you have someone to visit your room especially at this god forbidden hour, that's why you were hesitant at opening the door, but then you realize, what's it that you have to be afraid of? If it is a friend then what a surprise then if it a foe then surprise mother fucker because you ain't backing down shit.
You held your gun tightly why you're walking discreetly to your door and when you open it you quickly held you gun right at the person's face while slightly backing up, away from his reach.
When you saw who it was your bewildered state become more visible.
"Bucky?" you intended it to be a firm statement but it came as a questioning one. Bucky only plastered you a hesitant smile while holding his hand up.
"Geez, do you usually point a gun in every person on your doorstep?" he remark, amuse but then keen and on his defence stance. You on the other hand were still baffled. Why the hell is he here? and when you further study him you noticed what he was just wearing— a plain pj's and a black fitted shirt. Who would of have thought that the Winter Soldier could look this domesticated. And then the bag in his hand caught your attention. Your brows knitted at further perplexity.
"What the hell are doing in here?" you asked directly. Is he lost? because that's the only logical thing you could think of, that must be the reason why he found his way to your chamber. His answer says otherwise.
"Uhm, I brought you coffee?" was that a question? or a statement. But then it occurred to you it must be a statement and your demeanour probably factor the way he delivers his speech. Your colleague would often comment at how intimidating you were that it sometimes makes them unsure of themselves.
"Oh" was your only response, for a moment there was silence between the two of you not knowing what to say, it then register to you how Bucky was still standing outside. There's two cups in his hand. Should you invite him inside? was that necessary? but then is keeping his outside an ethical to your side? would it be appropriate?
You followed your guts.
"Uhm do you like-uh want to get inside?" since when did you fucking stutter and become unsure? Well yeah, probably under Buchanan's gaze. Geez!
Now you grew flustered, was it really wise of you to invite a person who's in opposite sex of you inside your chamber? at this hour? You don't want him getting any wrong idea, would he?Fuck, since when did you become such an overthinking twat ?
Luckily your invitation brightens Bucky's face an gladly took your invitation.
"Yeah, sure, of course please" he answered, and he quite wince at how he stumbles on his words. Steve would trip. You didn't pay any attention to it though, to his great pleasure.
You step aside and open your door further to let him in and when he stepped inside that is when he notice the different guns laying at the top of your table and couch, scopes and usual materials in artillery.
"Oh you were busy" he said out loud, you just shrugged and told him that not really, and that you were just passing your time. Bucky knitted his eyebrows, passing time? at this hour?
Well he's really not the one to talk especially since he's also still wide awake.
You proceed at doing your task before Bucky knock at your door, Bucky then quietly examine your room, it was extremely organized like how he pictured it, your bed was neatly made, the books at the your nightstand where organised, even how your pens were laid at the table were put in order then his glanced dropped at you physique.
He took his time at examining your feature, savouring every detail of your face. Then he noticed it, for the first time your hair was down, different from the up do that he was accustomed to, not that he's complaining. You're wearing a mustard yellow shirt and—oh you're just wearing a shorts. He could feel the heat rising at his cheeks. He has to sip on his coffee to hide his embarrassment. Geez, he's not usually like this, he thought.
Despite of it all, he can't help the butterflies growing in stomach, the quick thomp thomp of his heart and the unnerving desire to scoop you over and embrace you with a hug, snuggle with you till you both see the sunlight beaming at the curtain. He can't help it. So once again his gaze fell on your form, he decided that he has to keep his gaze on your face and never to travel it down or it might continue to affect him and some other parts of him, he doesn't want to get himself any further embarrassment.
"You know Barnes, staring could be rude" and that snapped him out of his trance, he was quick to pull out his gaze and look at anything but you. He was like a child caught doing something he shouldn't.
"But don't worry I don't mind" you said smugly and despite his embarrassment he can't help but smirk at your remark. Why does he feels like you usually have this playful manner. That behind your stoic and uptight manner you were actually a goof. He didn't dare to voice it louder though.
"Oh uh- sorry" he apologized not really knowing what to appropriately say.
"I-uh I don't really know what kind of coffee you like so I just follow my guts, something's telling me you like Black and strong one you Uh-" Bucky was mentally cursing hisself, he was not usually a stuttering mess under any dame's presence. In fact he was a lady's man because of how subtle and smooth he is. Always charming and not a mess. It must have something to do with time, he blamed.
You seeing Bucky's predicament, you decided to put an end to his tense demeanour, his blubbering mess were quiet cringing you.
"Good choice" you said, and that put an halt to his talking.
"Great instinct, I like Black and strong coffee" you added and you could hear him muttering really?. When you glance at him you saw his beaming with joy as if he just perfected his exam and got an A on a test.
"Yah, keeps you awake" you added, and then Bucky notice it, how everything in you looks so perfect but then your eyes looked so tired and worked up. It doesn't make you any less beautiful but it clenches his heart thinking you were not getting any enough rest.
"Were you even getting any enough sleep" he asked, you were just about to take another sip at the coffee he just offered when his comment drew your attention. The sudden display of concern flips your stomach but you decided to ignore and shrugged it off.
You don't want Bucky to see he was affecting you, so you pull out your usual defense mechanism against this kind of stuff. Being a sarcastic and coy.
"Why, do I look like shit Barnes?" the alarmed look on Bucky's face would of have make you laugh, only if you were not pulling this act. The prior concern look on his face were replaced with a panic one.
"What?! No!" he quickly denied "of course not, what I mean is just— no uh-of course you're pretty- I mean you're always pretty but—I, I always find you pre—shit!" he curse and you saw him taking a quick breath seemingly collecting hisself before talking again.
"What I'm trying to say is that, you look pretty" amusing were now dancing on your face and that sends Bucky more on edge "but I'm not saying in a way that you're pretty pretty more on a — I mean yeah you look good but not that" he's mentally beating hisself for this.
"So are you saying I'm not pretty then?" you beamed
"Of course you are!" he answered way too quickly.
"Shit it's all coming out all wrong!" he exclaimed with frustration.
He wanted to say that you looked great without creeping you with the thought that he was finding you attractive or at least he doesn't want to scare you off. He wanted it to come out as a genuine and platonic compliment but it's all coming out and sounding like he's head over heels smitten with you—not that he's not, but he doesn't think he wanted to come out like this.
In the midst of bubbling mess your heart felt laugh echoed in the room and snapped him out of it.
"Geez Barnes, calm the foxtrot down" you laughed off.
"You can just say that I look good and you found me attractive and that would save you from the stuttering mess you are" you said smugly, Bucky would of have denied it, smeared the smugness off your face but then he would be lying.
Bucky just laugh at how straightforward you were. Didn't know you could be this vulgar.
"and I won't bite" you added while laughing with yourself.
"Instead of digging yourself a bigger hole, geez"  Bucky laugh with you this time, no longer holding hisself back. You were right, why is he still denying it to hisself and to you. What's the point.
So he gathered all his guts and admitted it.
"Yeah, yeah you look great, exquisite in fact" he mused.

Chapter-1
Good girls always fall for bad boys.
Now, did they? At least, that's how the legend went. All your life, it was exactly what you had read in those books you carried in your bag. And they were the reason you were starting to believe this pointless theory. Or was it your irresistible attraction towards that leather-jacketed classmate of yours? Obviously, the former. You weren't falling for him of all the guys. And you weren't exactly the good types, were you?
"Y/N!" You heard your friend call from behind, "You up for tonight's party at Jo's?
"Jo? I thought you hated her?" You raised your brow in your friend's direction, continuing your walk down the hallway.
"Nooo, why would I hate that beautiful babe?"
"Lisa," deadpanning, you continued, "Cut the crap."
Lisa smiled at you cheekily, squinting her eyes and you obviously got the sign.
"Boys" You said with the roll of your eyes, whilst she echoed simultaneously with an excited squeal. Shaking your head, you smiled at her excitement, whilst she continued to grin your way adorably. At least someone's looking forward to living their life.
You and Lisa were totally different, to the extent it got you thinking about how you were even friends in the first place. She was one of the most popular girls of the college, whilst you were a hidden hermit. She loved partying and drinking, whilst you made excuses to stay home and read one of those fanfictions they wrote. Not that you got a lot of invitations, but ever since you started hanging out with Lisa, they were more. It was uncomfortable at first, and quite frankly, it still was. You weren't used to it—the attention, so many people around you, people talking to you. Although before you met Lisa, you felt way lonelier than you'd ever like to admit, you still sometimes missed the calm in it. But again, you did you. You still ditched parties for books, still said no to drunk boys, still wore baggy hoodies and Potter glasses, and still ate street food. Uncool? Fair enough. Uncool it is, then.
"So, you coming?" She tugged at your backpack just as you were making your way into the class.
"No"
"Please"
"No"
"Y/N"
"No"
"Today's food on me"
"Yes"
"Yee!" She squealed and hugged you, locking your hands to your body, as you froze in your place. You really did like to maintain that reputation of the tough, unaffectionate girl you had among the few people you talked to.
"Yeah, yeah. It's the free food." With a fake scowl, you went in the lecture hall, as she made her way to hers.
_____________
It was a rather boring lecture, and you would sell your soul to bunk the other one scheduled after the break. All you did during the whole class was scroll down your Instagram feed, or Tumblr checking for another part of the fanfiction you were currently reading. Hunters. How cool was that! You lived to read such fantasies, or who knew if they existed in real life too.
"Didn't take you for the one to use your phone during the class." You looked up to see him, and tried your hardest not to gawk at his entire confident demeanor. Leather jacket, spiky short blonde-ish brown hair, green eyes and—were they...freckles?
You cleared your throat locking your phone, "Didn't take you for the one to talk to unpopular girls during the break, either."
A smirk started to grace his lips as you quickly averted your gaze back to your phone, unlocking it and scrolling through the posts again.
"Ah! That hurt," he mocked hurt as you found yourself resisting a smile at his antics, "Did I see a smile there, and can I sit?" He smiled to himself.
"No," You said with a roll of your eyes shifting to the seat next to the wall, "So what brings you here, Winchester?"
"Low attendance," He chuckled to himself but it subsided soon, clearing his throat, as he heard no laugh from your side, "Sorry, wasn't funny."
"No it was, I'm just trying not to laugh." You said, the bored expression not leaving your face, as you again turned back to your phone, just before it was snatched from your hands.
"First, it's very rude to use your phone when someone's talking to you," He smiled in return to the glare you threw his way, "And second, Y/N, I've come here to be friends with you.
Now that piqued your interest, as you raised your right brow at him, "No, I mean it. I'm buddies with everyone in the class but you. The only time we ever talked was back during the first year, and it didn't quite end well."
"Sweets. Tempting but no," You gave the freckled man in front of you a tight lipped smile, "Winchester, what kinda bet you at, this time?" You said nonchalantly, definitely not believing a word of what he was asking for.
"No bet, I promise! I genuinely want to know you." And he thought you'd believe him, didn't he? As if.
"Guess what, Dean?" You smiled at him sweetly, as he started to grin, "Buzz off, not before giving me my phone back."
His grin faltered midway as he sighed, "You really are a hardhead, are you not?" He handed you over the phone and walked out of the hall.
Well, wow.. that was weird.
_____________
Dean knew it wasn't going to be an easy task. She wasn't a soft nut to crack. Not that he had expected her to just believe him like that. He wasn't joking when he said that their first encounter wasn't the most pleasant one. A bet. That's what it was.
New to college, he knew he needed to make a reputation to survive those four years. He couldn't go down on his first day, after all. He wasn't going to. And as his seniors dared him to throw the next student out of the door into the pool, he did. He was very hesitant, he knew it was bullying and he sure wasn't in favor of that but he also knew that if he didn't, they'll make the next three years of his life hell. He had no other choice.
That's when she walked out of the class—baggy sweater, round glasses, reading a book, your typical nerd. Her appearance just made him more guilty for what he was about to do next, she was too innocent to be a part of any of this. Other bullies of the school would just make her college years a living hell after today, if he did that- when he did that. Although, he was determined he wouldn't let anyone near her after today, it did little to no good easing his guilt.
Next thing he knew was that she was scooped up in his arms, her book on the floor, deep Y/E/C wide orbs staring back into his apologetic ones and her arms tight around his neck as if to make sure she wouldn't fall down—oh boy, only if she knew—and splash!
It was all a matter of seconds when he realized she was struggling to keep up on the surface, "The bet's over, I won!" He yelled at the couple of boys and three girls laughing behind him as he jumped into the pool to save the tiny bean.
"Look I'm sorry, I know it was an ass move but you gotta believe me, I didn't mean any of it. It was a bet, I mea-" He looked at her still baffled expressions, as she tried to regulate her breathing, "Are you okay?"
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" His eyes all but widened at the unexpected not-just-an-outburst but a hard slap to his face.
Turns out, she didn't need all that saving after all.
He chuckled at the memory. It's been three years, and they were still not friends. Gosh, what did he not do after that. Passed her sorry notes, apologized to her in person, waited for her outside her classrooms and even sneaked into her dorm earning an earful from the warden. Oh, Y/N still didn't know about the dorm one, not that she ever would. Finally, after all those efforts she sure forgave him, but they decided that they won't talk ever again.
And they didn't.
It wasn't that he never wanted to. He did, he really did. Y/N really intrigued him, to the point he found himself staring at her just to study her, in hopes to look past the mysterious aura she carried. If he didn't know better, he would have thought he had a crazy crush on the girl.
Right then, though, he hoped she came to Jo's party that evening, and he sure as hell hoped he could get some help winning over the beautiful girl he had gotten a crush on.
Lisa.

Hey, it's the anon that said I feel queerbaited and all that stuff. You didn't come across as harsh, but idk. I don't fully agree with what you said (especially in regards to Keith not being an asshole and the queerbaiting thing) but I respect your opinion, obviously. I just hate being told that I queerbaited myself because I didn't. That's the one thing that really bothered me that you said. I have a lot of reasons why but I don't have enough characters so I'm gonna leave it here I guess.
If you ever wanna elaborate on that last point, my IMs are open :D I already talked with someone whose opinions on the new season & the characters differed from mine and it’s all cool. As you said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I really, really, really did not expect any more representation than what they already offered us at the con for the reasons I already stated, so I genuinely fail to see where people could think they were baited^^’
The only thing we will most definitely have to agree to disagree on is Keith being an asshole. I’ve been here for the post s2&3 hate and I never stood for it. Keith is a genuinely kind person and it baffles me that people are able to think the contrary. And this season?? He was just as kind as ever…
Tumblr media
“We saved each other.” / “Where were you? We tried to get ahold of you.”
Like, what an asshole. Can you believe he was concerned for them?
Tumblr media
“Is everyone okay?” / “I’ve got your positions, we’re headed your way.”
Look at him caring for his friends
Tumblr media
“Let her go!” / “Coran, where’s Acxa?”
Wow Keith, do you have to get this protective over your teammates and allies??
Tumblr media
“Lead the way, Lance. Keep the team together.” / “I’m gonna go find Acxa, she saved our skin.”
It’s totally uncalled for to leave the team in capable hands to rescue someone who has already saved his life twice now
Tumblr media
[points at his blade] / [cheers]
Him, trying to help Lance? Cheering when he gets something right? Rude.
Tumblr media
“Thanks for saving us.” / “Thank you for everything you’ve taught me, mom.”
There he goes, THANKING PEOPLE
Tumblr media
“Okay everyone, to your stations. Running battle simulations now.” / “Oh, that’s a good one.”
How dare he look out for the team? Make sure that they stay prepared for battle? Make them have daily routines, which is important for your mental health, especially if you’re stuck in space where there is no day and night cycle? And on top of that compliment his mother on her good work?
Tumblr media
“I love you, too, mom.” / “We just gotta hang on tight. We’ve got each other.”
The nerve,,,, to tell people he loves them,,,,,,,,,,, to try to reassure them,,,
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry I said all those hurtful things earlier. I was wrong.” / “But more importantly, they brought us together as friends.”
HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO APOLOGIZED. THE. ONLY. ONE. And don’t even try to tell me that the others didn’t say hurtful things too, because they did.
Tumblr media
“I guess I wasn’t the best cadet back then. I owe you a bit of an apology, too.” / “Look, I’m not the best at talking to people… and I don’t expect you to open up to me… but if there’s ever anything on your mind-”
More apologies… offers at comfort… yes, he’s the Very Definition of an asshole >.> [I’m not continuing this list because it’s after midnight already, not because I ran out of points to make lol]
No, seriously. It’s like he isn’t allowed to have negative emotions towards his teammates without getting called an asshole for it. He’s HUMAN. He makes mistakes. He’s allowed to get annoyed with Lance after he keeps guessing things for his drawings that a) don’t resemble them and b) they never even encountered in space. It’s fair to want to trade Coran who won’t stop singing Altean children songs for his wolf who Keith is extremely close with. It’s okay to not smile at every joke he makes and to take his newfound responsibilities as the black paladin more serious than maybe necessary.
He’s trying. He’s kind. He’s forgiving and self-sacrificing and more affectionate than ever. Just because this character development isn’t primarily directed towards Lance, doesn’t mean he is an asshole :(

I don't mean to be rude, but' i'm genuinely confused. I understand liking Nesta, but I don't know how you would love her so much knowing that she was this abusive : "...Feyre, you’ll have no one left to remember you, or to care that you ever existed.” "No one in this family cares about you and we would all be happier if you were dead”. "You stink like a pig covered in its own filth. Can’t you at least try to pretend that you’re not an ignorant peasant?” and many moreeeee
“I think Nesta feels everything— sees too much; sees and feels it all. And she burns with it. Keeping that wall up helps from being overwhelmed, from caring too greatly.”
“You know nothing about who I am, and what I’ve done and what I want.“
“What happened to Tomas Mandray?” I asked, the words strangled.“I realized he wouldn’t have gone with me to save you from Prythian.”
“He stole you away into the night…It wasn’t right.”
“But beneath the wall, I witnessed children - entire families - starve to death. Were it not for my sister…I would be among them.”
And many moreeeeee.
And all that while we have only one side of the story and not a clear picture since we only got Feyre’s PoV. For every example you put here for Nesta’s abusive behavior I can present an action of hers that showed remorse and love and sacrifice for Feyre. And yet somehow those do matter in this equation at all.
What surprises me here however is that somehow people are ready to be confused and jump to conclusions and ask explanations as to why someone likes a fictional character. As if there has to even be a reason for liking a character as if it is wrong to love it and therefore you need to explain your thoughts and motives for daring to like a fictional character.
This truly baffles my to be honest. Also a helpful reminder. When you send an ask to someone starting with the phrase  ‘I don’t mean to - insert whatever word’ then the receiver of that ask will immediately get into defensive mode because chances are that what the sender did not mean to be actually…is.
Generally speaking however I can like whatever I like without having to explain myself. Fiction is not reality. And what attracts one person to liking certain things in fiction is a matter of personal taste and …you know…different strokes for different folks.
Nesta Archeron is a fully developed character. The side you showed in your ask (which I am not excusing because I do not have to pretend as if it is not there in order to like Nesta) is only a part of Nesta’s characterization. In order for me at least to like a character I need to eventually go through their journey and progression and then decide. Personally I liked Nesta from the very beginning. Why? Because she was not a character that we have seen a thousand times on repeat in the YA genre over and over and over again. That alone made her a breath of fresh air in a collection of anachronistic cliches to which Feyre succumbs to in every aspect and form for most parts in the trilogy to the point where in the last book became practically a bland character with no characterization. But liking is not the same as genuinely loving and as I saw more sides and layers in Nesta I came to love her. I came to love her cold exterior and the fear that lurks underneath. I came to understand how closed off she is. I came to see her struggle with her inability to express emotion. I came to see her mental disorders. I saw the battle  that raged inside her. I came to love the little things and those that were left untold when it came to her. I came to like the realistic parts of her portrayal.
When Acotar began it was obvious that the author wanted to give a Cinderella presentation (so to immediately make Feyre more likable) and did not care for Nesta or Elain aside from showing them as the bad fairytale sisters. They were there simply to play that role (which really made me roll my eyes) and then Sjmaas decided to change her tune and showed more layers. And -for me at least- …it worked.
Yes Nesta is problematic. Yes she is an asshole. You won’t find any arguments there from me.
Nesta is a flawed character. She is not the typical ya heroine. She is not a certain typecast of the Mary Sue protagonist. She also presents characteristics that are both female (propriety, lady mannerisms, dress code etc) and male (rage, unapologetic selfishness etc). She is intelligent and not a warrior. She does not need to yield a sword in order to be a badass. She is not a tomboy in the way tomboy girls are unrealistically presented in these kind of books. She shows characteristics that when are shown in male characters then they appear sexy and hot and their behavior is always excused while when women show the very same characteristics they must always apologize and be condemned for them. I am sorry but I would rather see and like a rude, loud, damaged, unapologetic, flawed and angry asshole lady rather than a picture perfect snowflake at any day. I can LOVE a character without expecting them to be moral or good or even nice. This is fiction after all.
I want to relate to characters. I want to see their flaws, I want to feel them. I want their layers. I want their aggression and their emotional blockage and their depression and their anger and I do not want them to be sorry for it or change their character so to become…likable or loved by others. I want them to speak with actions instead of words. I want them to be consistent. I want them to not be perfect. I do not want the author to spoon feed me any redemption for me to like them or hit me with constant dialogue and exposition so to tolerate a character and come to like it. I do not want one character to be condemned because another is in the highlight and can do nothing wrong which is hypocritical most of the times...and a lie. I want a character that has meat and bones and down to the marrow I can sink my teeth in them and still find more things to explore instead of the same old same old we meet in certain types of literature constantly.
Grey characters are interesting. Morally flawed characters are interesting. Characters that are conflicting and bring conflict are interesting. Female characters of that sort are hella interesting for me.
And because Nesta is an amalgamation of all those traits I came to not only like her but love her. I stan her. I want to read more about her. I am here for her as a character.
On the other hand let me tell you that I also adore Rhysand. Like I live and breathe. And no one is confused when people like Rhysand. No one was even confused when people expressed their love for Rhysand during the first book when we did not have his explanations and excuses for his actions and behaviors. Most people adored Rhysand in acomaf before the chapter in the cabin came. Most people did not even bat an eye when it came to how ‘normal’ it was for Rhysand to have such a fanbase in the acotar fandom even before acomaf was published.
I do not judge people for loving Rhysand (hell I am one of them and I do not want to relate only with moral characters in fiction) but I cannot stand the double standards here.
No one asked me why I like Rhysand. Rhysand that can be manipulative and abusing and secretive and an asshole. Like the way he treated Morrigan in acowar for example. People keep on seeing nothing wrong in him but that does not apply to other characters.
We are still talking about Rhysand that despite his reasoning abused Feyre too. The fact that an abusive action can be understood or explained or ‘excused’ does not negate the abuse no matter the reasons one may have. People seem to somehow forget or excuse that and give a pass to Rhysand as a character AND to people that like Rhysand despite it. The fact that Feyre forgave him or decided it to avert her eyes from his behavior and the author decided to pretend that Rhysand is a feminist and a character that can do no wrong and must be put in a pedestal does not negate his abuse or how interesting as a character he is (at least in the first two books). The fact that he drugged Feyre and treated her the way he did still remains a fact. Or that in acomaf he purposely sent her to the weaver in a situation that could have led to her death which was during a time that she had severe PTSD and could be triggered and further damaged. Or the way he treated Morrigan when it came to her abusers and the way he acted towards her taking away from her all of her agency. And do not even let me start on the suicide pact he made with Feyre while he should know better since he is over 500 years old while Feyre is not even 20. The fact that the author decides to sugarcoat that behavior and even glamorize it as healthy does not change it from being problematic and yet it is constantly praised.
It is praised when it comes to Rhysand but not when it comes to Nesta. Imagine that really.
No one argues about how Rhysand is likable despite being a grey amoral character and an asshole. The fact that he uses honey in his words and not vinegar like Nesta does not change his amorality.
Is it a matter of nobility and motives? Like those Nesta showed when she wanted to save kids and stood up in the High Lords meeting and wanted to sacrifice her life in the war? Is it because Rhysand was abused UtM when Nesta was abused when she was thrown into the cauldron (which we do not even know how much time passed for her in there). Is it because he was a rape victim because Nesta can have Tomas Mandray for that. Is it because despite his PTSD he stood up defending his ideals just like Nesta did? Is it because he is an extrovert while Nesta an introvert? Is it because he loved Feyre despite the abusive moments? Because Nesta’s actions also show love towards Feyre. Is it because of the romance? Because sibling love and rivalry can be just as interesting. Is it because Rhysand’s honest actions in contract with Nesta’s that are also there. Is it because Feyre loves and forgave Rhysand so the fandom has too and be alright with it and not expect more from him? Because the last time I checked Feyre loves her sisters to death and forgives them and is ready to go down for them but the readers choose to ignore that. When Feyre called the names of  those she loved in her list inside her head to give her strength both under the mountain and when she was a spy in the spring court Nesta was always there but people act as if that should not be the case despite the fact that Nesta is Feyre’s family and in families you forgive.
Or is it because Rhysand is a man and does not have to excuse himself especially since the writing favors him even beyond reason and logic while Nesta is a woman so she will have to be judged -by far- more harshly and the people that like her must always explain why they like her as if they should not?
I can’t help but wonder.
In the end I don’t necessarily have to filter everything I read in fiction through a politically correct perspective and apply to the fictional things I like a real life way of thinking. At least not all the way through.
In the end I can just like characters either they are heroes or villains or in the between or nothing of that sort.
And Nesta is one of the character that has won me over. With her bad traits and her good traits. With her dark moments and her moments of light. With her wrongdoings and her ideals. She is not perfect. And I would never expect her to be. And I actually love her exactly because she is not that. I would take an imperfect character any time of the day. Just I have done with Scarlett O’Hara and now Nesta Archeron. They are my jam I can’t help it.
