Childhood best friends turned into something more, at least with the label. Katsuki Bakugo, a fast-rising hero and fast-learning guy who is ever so slow in getting attached to and loving someone. Even three long years into a relationship, and your friends even forget you're even dating. Nothing happening, spare a few kisses.. like 3 kisses, during high school. Graduated and living together, and you guys have done absolutely nothing to further the relationship. Are you sure you're not just friends? Also not edited!! It was a turn back to normal after the long conversation between the two of you. Tears sliding down your faces, majority yours but you saw a couple fall from his. It was a necessary conversation. He opened up about his quirk and apologized for ditching you. You apologize for the same.

Easily enough, the two of you moved on from it quickly. Talking about the past two months when all the overwhelming emotions passed. You blabbed about how many new offers you were getting and he talked about how he was hiring more and more people to his agency.

Despite not being able to ignore the last two months, it was easy to move past.

Growing past it within the night, having everything off your chest. It still didn't make things go back to normal.

You continued to share a bed, but changed your schedules around again to see more of each other. Flipping back into your old routine as much as possible. Not without a few changes though. Lunches would only be once a week rather than daily, and you'd be working for another hour or two after he got home. Since you wanted to sleep in still.

But it still improved your relationship again. Building it back up slowly. You were able to eat a late dinner together each night and share an off day. Sharing your off day made it easier for you anyway. After the break-in it was hard to be home without him, so the last two months were rough. Your therapist said you were doing great though, so that helped.

The first days of going back to normal was rough, having to adjust to seeing each other daily again. Conversations between the two of you felt awkward, mainly on your side. You grew so much in those two months, no longer relying on him. It shifted the dynamic.

"Y'good?" Katsuki's gruff voice broke your train of thought. Your eyes flickered up to him.

"Huh?"

"Been fuckin' playin' with your food," he points his fork at your plate, "Don't like it or some shit?"

"No, I like it," you looked back down. It was definitely not your favorite meal he made, but it was good.

His silverware claddered roughly against his plate, his arms crossing, "The fuck has been wrong with you?"

"Do you have to swear with every sentence?" you avoided, taking a bite of your food instead.

You could feel him roll his eyes along with his heavy sigh, "You've been off since."

"A relationship doesn't heal just like that," you pointed out.

"Will you look at me?" he asked annoyed. A glance up at his expression made you cut your attitude. He was trying, that much was obvious. And after all your talk of communication, you were doing nothing.

"Sorry," you set your fork down, engaging in the conversation, "I'm just lost? I guess. Hard to place it. I've changed a lot in the past two months-"

"How?"

You glared at him for interrupting you. "I've stopped prioritizing you. I'm more focused on myself now. It's hard to go back to normal when the 'normal,' was me running circles around you."

He shuffled in his seat, "That's fine. I'm glad you've moved on in that sense, done you good."

"You're not worried how it'll change us?" you asked softly, it's been all you were thinking of for the past few weeks.

"I'm always fuckin' worried," he admitted, eyes drifting to look at the wall instead of you, "But we'll work it out."

You were glad he still viewed the two of you as a 'we,' heart melting slightly as you reached your hand across the table. "I'm not going to tip-toe around you anymore, Kats."

"Good," he gruffed out, uncrossing his arms and grabbing onto your hand. Changing his focus onto that, "I don't want you to."

"Good," you agreed, smiling at how he let his thumb trace over your knuckles.

"You, um," he fumbled for a minute, eyebrows furrowing, "You're still okay with us not doing shit right?"

"I'd never push that," you confirmed, shocked he even thought you would complain about that.

"Don't get me wrong, I would, just-" he pulled his hands back wiping them on his pants before running them down his face, "my dumb fuckin' quirk."

"You love your quirk," you pointed out.

"Yeah and I'd fuckin' love to touch my girlfriend but no, I gotta be a horny virgin 'cause of it," he groaned, crossing his arms again.

Stifling a laugh was difficult, but you managed, "Maybe we can just work up to it? Get you used to the baseline first before, that."

His quirk went off suddenly, "Can't even fuckin' think of it," he groaned, standing up to go wash his hands off.

"It's cute." You followed behind him to place dishes in the skin, having cleared your plates a while ago.

"Fuck you."

"Hey," you laughed, "At least you can tell Denki and Sero that you beat them at No Nut November. And have for the past 19 years."

He shot you a glare from the sink, "The one challenge I wouldn't want to beat, great."

"It's what makes you number one to me, baby," you teased, kissing his shoulder as you moved past him, wanting to pester him while the mood was light and he was already flustered. It was nice how easy it was to move past something with him. But you wanted to test how much he'd react to you not tiptoeing around him anymore.

With success, his quirk popped off again.

"Fuck off."

You let out a crackle of laughter, "You're too easy."

"Die."

He finally stopped washing his hands, turning to dry them off. You watched from the counter, plotting. "Your back looks nice," you commented, his muscles have been more defined lately and you only got to appreciate it now. His tank top showcases his shoulders nicely.

He froze for a moment, side-eyeing you. "Do you want to get blown up or something?"

"No, do you want to get blown?" you asked back, letting Denki's crude humor influence you.

Like a charm, his quirk sparked off. "Quit it."

"Nah, it's too much fun," you smiled at him, kicking off the counter you were leaning on and moving to leave the kitchen. Hand squeezing his bicep when you walked by.

He didn't let you get even a step away before he grabbed your hand and pulled you into him. His hands grabbing at your hips and moving to push you into the counter. "Where do y'think you're goin'?" he smirked down at you.

Your face bloomed a deep shade, blushing harshly at how close he was. He hasn't been that close since you argued two months ago.

"Nothin' to say?"

You blinked up at him, trying to steady the rapid beating of your heart with the way he was tracing circles onto your hips.

"Might like you but that doesn't mean I'll let you say shit and get away with it," he crowded you closer to the counter.

"What happened to your quirk?" you whispered, losing your voice at the proximity.

"You offered to work up to it, right?" he brushed his hands clean on his shirt briefly before going back to your hips.

"Yeah," you looked down at his hands, trying to make sure the watch was off.

"It's off," he confirmed, twisting his wrist so you could see. When you looked back up at him, he held his gaze deeply, "What happened to that smart mouth?"

"Want me to show you?" you placed your hands on his chest, running over the span of his shoulders. Your body was on fire, the two of you flirted, sure, but this was different. His quirk was fully there. He was fully there.

His eyes lidded slightly, zeroing in his focus on your lips, "Fuck yeah I do."

Your lips closed the gap between the two of you. It wasn't as soft and nervous as all the past kisses, it was something you just threw yourself in. Stomach crazy with butterflies as your mind started buzzing. His hands tightened their grip on your hips as he stepped even closer to you.

Bodies curled into each other to get closer. Your hands digging into the hair at the base of his neck as you deepened the kiss. Full of passion and sexual tension. There was hardly any innocence to the kiss, and if there was, it faded within seconds.

A sigh of relief falling from your lips when his hands slipped under your shirt, brushing over your skin roughly. Fingers being callused and dry from work.

"Stop looking at me like that," he shied away, washing his hands in water for a moment.

You paused for a moment, considering how you looked. With how flushed his face was you could tell you were no better. Lips plumped and freshly kissed red as your shirt was ruffled up from his hands as you leaned back into the counter. "Why would I? You clearly like what you see?"

The confidence within you came from nowhere. There has been sexual tension between the two of you before, many times before. Even before he had the watch. But normally you had to be drunk as hell to make such obvious jokes towards him, especially ones about sex. Maybe it was the fact that it was on the table, when before it wasn't. You knew he wanted it as much as you did.

"Fuck off," he grumbled.

"Come on, Kats," you pushed your luck.

"I love you, but please stop whatever the fuck you're doing before we need a new apartment," he spoke without thought, freezing the second he realized what he said.

You barked out a laugh, he spoke so plainly. You didn't want him to get wrapped up in his head, so you ignored the rushing butterflies over his admissions. "Fine, fine," you gave in, smiling happily at him, "Hug?"

He looked at you, untrusting of you before he opened his arms, gesturing you near.

Taking the moment, you threw yourself in his arms. Wrapping your arms around his waist he pulled you in fully. Letting you rest your head on his chest as he rested his on yours.

Everything felt secure in your relationship, you'd move one step at a time together. With a lot of teasing between, but that was common between you and him, despite the lack of it lately.

"I love you too, by the way," you mumbled into his chest, having a happy feeling travel through your body at the small number of times he's actually said it.

"I know."

You moved slightly to look up at him, his eyes fell on yours before you spoke, "Are you hard?"

He glared sharply, embarrassment covering his features as you felt him grow hot. You were going to ignore the feeling of him pressing into your lower stomach, but decided you wanted the chance to rub it in his face that you have the upper hand here. He tried to pull away, only for you to keep your grip.

"Stop," he warned, his hands raised away from you.

"It's only a little spark, Kats," you tried to comfort.

With a roll of his eyes he smiled evilly down at you, "You asked for it," before you could protest, he wiped his sweaty hands on your face before rubbing the rest of it off on your sweater, down your chest.

"Katsuki! That's gross," you pulled away from him, using your sleeve to wipe away the damp residue of his sweat off your cheek before you pulled the bottom of your shirt out, seeing if he got sweat marks on it. "You just used that as an excuse to touch my tits," you glared at him, seeing the faint marks of his handprint on your shirt, right over your tits. It surprised you that he sweat enough to leave a mark.

He laughed sharply, walking out of the kitchen, "Got no proof, Brains."

"I literally have the proof of your hands on my tits," you called out to him.

He looked over you, "How do I know those are mine?"

"This late?" you asked as you eyed his work phone.

You heard mumbling for a moment before he huffed and put his phone on speaker. "Can she hear me now?" the lady's voice rang through, the same manager you've spoken with before.

"Hello," you answered for him, "What can I do?"

"You've done quite enough," she spoke abruptly. It took a lot to get her mad, so to have pissed her off five words was a record. "People are spreading pictures of you crying in the middle of the street."

Katsuki's eyes shot to you, concerned.

"They also claim to of heard you talking to Deku, saying you said his name several times."

His concerned look turned to a glare quickly.

"I can explain that," you said quickly before Katsuki added his two cents, "I was having a rough time and decided to call a friend, simple."

She laughed, "It's not the simple. It was the night of your party. And with the lack of social outings between Dynamight and you, people are saying the two of you broken up."

"Why does this matter?" you asked annoyed. It was still a sore subject.

"It matters because bad things are being said about the two of you. It's not just Dynamight's image anymore, but yours too. They're saying he's abusive while also saying that you're sleeping your way to the top."

You've heard that said too many times to count. Both things. So filled with anger, you grabbed the phone from Katsuki's hand and hung up.

"The fuck?"

"I don't know! I'm annoyed," you huffed, tossing his phone onto the couch before pacing, "I'm sick of people talking."

"I get it's annoying but you're gonna hear it-"

"Not helping," you glared at him.

"PR helps get them to knock it off," he pushed.

"She hardly says anything but the obvious," you rolled your eyes, "We can just post a picture of us or something."

"How does that prove I don't hit you?"

You paused your pacing, "Under a truth quirk I said the worst thing about you was your socks. I think if you abused me I would have said that."

He gave up his fight with a shrug, moving to sit on the couch instead.

"Don't get me wrong, it pisses me off that they say that. There is just no way to prove otherwise. Nothing is ever enough for them," you corrected, not wanting him to get the idea that you were only concerned for yourself.

"If you think that, why are you so pissed right now?" he crossed his arms.

You shook your eyes off the flex of his arms, throwing your hands up in frustration, "Because everyone says that, I hate hearing it."

"What do you mean?"

"Everyone thinks you hit me or some bullshit," you huff.

"Everyone?"

"Like people that don't know you," you changed, "you're a softy and they ignore it.

"Who you callin soft?" he sat up straight.

You smiled at him, "Kats, you can't even look mad at me."

He glared at you, eyebrows being the only thing supporting it. His eyes were soft. "Die."

"Let's just forget about it," you sighed, not wanting to talk about the press or your relationship. Nothing stressful.

"Why were you even cryin' to Deku?"

"You," you admitted shamefully, looking away. Talking about this would be stressful.

When he said nothing, you turned back to him. He was staring out the window. The view was filled with city lights.

"I only called him 'cause I couldn't call you," you comforted, stepping closer to him.

"Could always call me," he spoke softly.

"Kats," at this point you were standing right in front of him

"Yeah?"

You swallowed quickly, "We don't need to do everything together."

He took a deep breath, "I know, just want you to know you can call me, no matter what."

"I already know that," you smiled fondly at him. It was one of the best things about him. No matter how mad he was at a friend or family, he would never ignore them if they needed anything, even a random call. He might ignore a stupid text, but he never missed a call from someone close to him.

"Good."

"Maybe," he looked up at you, "We don't do anything publically? If they think I'm dating you then good, if they think I'm not, I don't care."

"If you want," he shrugged.

"You don't mind?" you step closer to him, him making space for you by manspreading further.

"Not really, just don't go making 'em think you're dating that damn nerd."

"Okay."

"Want somethin'?" he looked at you with a brow up. His eyes flickering from your chest to your face.

"Seems like you do," you smiled, inviting yourself more into his personal space by straddling him, both knees by his side.

"What are you doing?" his hands were pushed outwards, far from you.

"It's fine," you hushed him, sitting your weight on his lap.

"We didn't even do this stuff with the watch," he hissed at you, face flushed.

"Yes we did," you looked at him confused, "I made you cum y-"

Tim Bradford x Male!reader

So finding out that you had slept with your sister's training officer was pretty awkward to say the least but you really liked Tim and talked to them separately to see if there was any possible way you could continue to see him.

They each had valid concerns and neither wanted anyone to think Tim would give Lucy special treatment just because he was dating her brother but after a couple of weeks the two of them decided you and Tim should give this relationship a real shot.

You didn't necessarily keep it a secret but you weren't so open about it either which wasn't hard for Tim since he already preferred keeping his private life private… well, except for his best friend Angela who still found this whole situation quite amusing, most people at the station didn't even know he was gay.

Lucy on the other hand had a much harder time not spilling your relationship to everyone especially Jackson and Nolan.

“Tim seems in a good mood, maybe he'll take it easy on you today,” Jackson laughs as they collect their war bags for their shift.

“Huh? What? I have no idea what you're talking about I wouldn't know why he's in a good mood,” she rambles, avoiding eye contact as she ejects herself from the conversation and hurrying out the door to the patrol cars.

You rarely brought Tim to the apartment, usually spending time at his house to avoid creating any awkward run ins like the time he used your shower after a day at the paintball range and Lucy came home to him walking around in only a towel.

Tonight however Lucy told you she was going to be gone due to plans to go bar hopping with Jackson, Nolan and some of the other rookies they graduated with from the academy and her crashing at Jackson's apartment afterwards.

You took the opportunity to invite Tim over for a date night in, cooking him dinner and watching a movie however the movie was forgotten about half way through when Tim started kissing your neck.

Now you were on top of him making out on the couch, your phone on the kitchen counter where you couldn't hear your it buzzing with texts from Lucy saying how plans changed and Jackson was crashing with you guys instead.

The movie was too loud for you two to hear the front door opening and Lucy turned the light on to the sight of you in Tim’s lap, both of your shirts gone but luckily you were still dressed from the waist down.

“Oh my god,” she says covering her eyes.

“Hey Tim what are you doing here?” Jackson says pretty tipsy, taking him a minute to put the pieces together yet, “woah wait, are Y/N and Tim dating?”

You quickly hop off Tim and you scramble for your shirts, “you can open your eyes Lucy we’re decent.”

“You really couldn't go to your bedroom to do that?” Lucy questions, her words slurred, “now I have to burn the couch.”

“Don't be so dramatic nothing happened,” you sigh, “come on you are both drunk you should drink some water and go to sleep.”

“I can't wait to tell Nolan that you and Tim are dating Y/N, he didn't believe me when I said Tim was totally gay,” Jackson laughs.

After getting Jackson set up on the couch and Lucy in her bed you stand outside your apartment door with Tim saying goodnight to him.

“Sorry our date was a bust,” you apologize.

“It's alright let's just stick to having dates at my place,” he chuckles, “but uh could you talk to Jackson? I don't care if Nolan knows about us but I don't need him going and blabbing my personal business to the whole station.”

“I'll talk to him in the morning,” you smile, “but you know he's gonna tell Angela about this right.”

“Oh great, something else for her to tease me about,” he laughs, kissing you sweetly, “are you still in for the double date with her and Wesley next weekend?”

“Looking forward to it,” you say, kissing him one more time.

Dating your sister's TO was a lot harder to navigate than you thought it would be but you had fallen hard for Tim so you wouldn't change a thing.

Akira: Owen! I finally found you!

Owen: What do you want? Did you wake up and decide to be an annoyance today?

Akira: I was just wondering if you were free right now. There’s some stuff I want to ask you.

Akira: Since it’s been a while since our last interview, I thought I’d do another one for the Sage’s Book.

Owen: I have nothing to say to you. Never have, never will.

Akira: I- It doesn’t have to be serious. We can talk about anything you want, like the sweets you’ve been into for example…

*footsteps*

Heathcliff: Oh, Master Sage. I see Owen’s here as well.

Chloe: Are you guys going on a walk too? The weather feels soo nice today, right?

Owen: ...And two more annoyances show up.

Akira: Good afternoon Heath, Chloe. I was just in the middle of asking Owen for an interview.

Chloe: Oh right! What are you gonna talk about, Owen? I wanna know more about you too.

Heathcliff: C- Chloe. We probably shouldn’t interrupt them, so let’s get going…

Owen: You’d like to know more about me? And why is that? So you can gauge my weaknesses and use them against me?

Owen: And even if you aren’t planning to do that, I bet you’ll blab about it to everyone else, and get me killed either way.

Akira: O- Owen. I’m sure Chloe didn’t mean it like that, so you don’t have to snap at him…

Akira: Still, if we’re already working together, then I want to do things that make you happy and avoid the things that won’t…

Akira: Besides, I want to leave as much as I can for the next Sage once I return to my world, so they won't have to start from scratch with you.

Akira: Alright, it’s time for Owen’s interview take two. I hope I can find him…

Cain: ! Akira! Look out!

Akira: …Cain!?

Cain suddenly burst out of the thicket and grabbed my arm.

As he swung me behind him, a gust of wind blasted through us.

Owen: Getting careless, are we? Your defense is riddled with holes.

Owen: <<Cur Memini>>

Cain: Gah…!

Akira: W- what’s going on…!?)

Floating in the sky on his broom, Owen fired a volley of ice pellets at us. Still protecting me, Cain managed to dodge it.

Akira: C- Cut it out you two…! What if someone gets hurt because of your fighting!?

Owen: Aw, I wouldn’t call this fighting. I’d say it’s more of a collaboration with yours truly.

Owen: I’m just helping Sir Knight out, so he can take his eyeball back that much faster.

Cain: Yeah right… Aren’t you just here to mock me while I’m training?

Cain: Anyways, let’s call a truce! If we keep going, Akira’s gonna get hurt.

Owen: Fine then, I’ll just have to take them too.

Akira: Wah…!

Owen suddenly grabbed my hand and yanked me onto his broom like pulling vegetables from a garden.

Cain: Hey, whoa!

As Cain reached for me, Owen batted him away with magic.

With a faint smile on his lips, he looked down at Cain.

Owen: What’s wrong, Sir Knight? If you’re upset, why don’t you hit me with everything you’ve got?

Cain: …

Keeping his eyes steady on Owen, Cain sheathed his weapon.

Cain: A knight should never swing his sword in a moment of anger.

Cain: If I want to become worthy of my spell, I’ll make sure to beat you fair and square someday.

Cain: However, I’m done for today. Let Akira go.

Owen: …Oh?

Blinking his mismatched eyes, Owen crossed his legs with a somewhat impressed look on his face.

Owen: If you keep putting things off, it’ll be centuries before you’re ready. The reason you can’t react quickly with magic is because you only train your body.

Owen: You need to be more comfortable with using magic in battle.

Akira: (...It’s almost as if Owen’s giving him a lesson)

Akira: (That’s probably not what he’s thinking though…)

I snuck a quick glimpse at his face.

As always, his ice cold beauty looked so delicate, one would think he’d shatter with a touch…

Akira: (When I first met everyone, Owen was so frigid, especially towards Cain)

Akira: (He was the same towards Chloe and Heath too, but it seems like his relationships are changing little by little…)

[Hallway]

Akira: Alright, today’s the day…!

Akira: I’ve brought a ton of Owen’s favorite sweets with me, so surely he’ll be open for a little conversation!

Akira: Are you in there, Owen? It’s me, Akira.

*enters Owen room*

Owen: …Master Sage?

Akira: Owen! I’m so glad you’re here. Um, I brought you a gift. Do you mind if we eat these together?

Akira: I’d also love it if we could talk just for a tee~nsy weensy bit?

Owen: A gift…? Can I really have these?

Akira: (Oh boy…)

A soft voice. An innocent expression. The childish aura cast upon the grown-up features of his face. As Owen endearingly tilted his head, I sucked in my breath.

This was his other personality, the childlike one that had emerged as a result of the <<Great Calamity>>.

Akira: …Of course, feel free to help yourself. I brought them for you, after all.

Akira: The chocolates are especially sweet and delicious.

Owen: Chocolate…

Owen’s eyes quickly lit up. Taking a single piece of chocolate from my hands, he slowly and carefully ate it.

Owen: …It’s so yummy! Can I have another one?

With an angelic smile, he asked me the question in earnest.

It reminded me of the last interview I held with him.

Akira: Owen, there was something I once told your other self…

Akira: If you ever want someone to do something for you, all you have to do is smile like you’re doing now.

Akira: I think you could get anyone to listen to you, to lend you a hand.

Owen: Smile…?

Akira: Umm, like this. Chee—se..

*Owen switches back*

Owen: …? What are you doing…?

Akira: !?

Like waves receding from the shore, Owen’s smile vanished. The gentle look in his eyes had once again hardened to ice and his eyebrows furrowed with suspicion.

Akira: W- Welcome back, Owen.

Akira: I came to your room for an interview, but your other self opened the door…

Owen: Ugh… He has the worst timing.

Owen: Well? What did you talk about with not-me?

Akira: Umm…

Owen: Spit it out.

Akira: …I told him that if he ever wanted anything, all he’d have to do is smile. I’d gladly help him with whatever if so.

Owen: Heh… So you still haven’t dropped that?

Owen: I can get what I want just fine without your advice.

Owen tore the basket from my hand and flipped it upside down, dumping all the sweets across his table.

Then, with a devilishly beautiful smile, he dangled the empty basket towards me as if playing a trick.

Owen: Aw, looks like we’re all out of candy. Why don’t you go fetch me some more?

Akira: But they’re right the—

Owen: The quicker you come back, the quicker we can have our little chat.

The haughty smirk on his face wasn’t exactly the smile I had envisioned.

However, the satisfaction it radiated felt perfectly in tune with his personality.

Akira: (There’s still a lot I don’t understand about Owen…)

Akira: (But it does feel like we’re closer than before… probably?)

Akira: …Okay, fine. But you have to talk to me afterwards!

The Things I Can Only Say Now - Card Episode

[Courtyard]

Owen: Well, don’t you look busy, Master Sage.

Akira: Oh, Owen.

Owen: Are you still working on those pointless interviews?

Owen: I doubt us wizards have truly changed in the meager amount of time we’ve spent together.

Akira: Even if it doesn’t seem like you guys have changed… I still think that things are slightly different now from how they started.

Akira: When you get to know someone, you’re able to talk about things that you can’t with anyone else. With that in mind, is there anything you'd like to share with me, Owen?

Owen: Don’t think this makes us friends by any means, but… I could give you a couple tips on how to really twist a knife in the wound.

Owen: You start by observing people, seeking their deepest insecurities, and identifying the things they hate most.

Akira: I- I’m not sure how useful this will be, so I think I’ll pass…

Owen: While it’s always a solid plan to tighten the noose within conversation, it’s never a bad idea to prepare a couple of their worst fears beforehand.

Owen: For example, I hate washing. [1]

Akira: I… What?

Owen: That candy from your world.

Akira: …Oh! Did you mean wagashi?

Akira: I remember telling you about dango and youkan before. We have a lot of soft and squishy sweets. [2]

Owen: Exactly. Now that I’ve generously given you my secrets, you should try them out on me.

Owen: Strike me with the squishiest, most sickening sweets you have.

Akira: (He… just wants to eat wagashi doesn’t he?)

I dunno what to title this...

I was just thinking, that yes the VAT7K fandom is getting a little more popular now, but do you guys think that we could possibly make VAT7K or little VAT7K comics? And yes, I know about copyright and other things, but as long as we put continuous credits to Disney, Kait Ritter and Anna Lencioni, I don't think we'll get copyrighted. It would also let more people know about the show, right? I mean, I really love this show and I know you guys do too. I just wish we could do something a bit more for it! Like, if we got some people who are good at drawing and people who are willing to voice act the characters (I belong in the latter category lol) then we could make, like, our own version and show Disney that it would be a very good idea to release VAT7K instead of sequels from other shows that noone really wants. I don't mind if nothing comes of this. It's just an idea and if you don't like it, or don't reply, that's okay, but would be preferred. Ok, just wanna say that I love your Hephaetus!Nikto.

Just a few things I’d like to say about Aphrodite. Love the way you have them written, I am in no way trying to make you change your interpretation of them.

She is one of the oldest gods along side Poseidon. Their lore dates back way before Ancient Greece and yet Aphrodite still predates him. Aphrodite is not just a soft thing. She started the Trojan war dammit. And she’s been associated with War as well, and not just in the sense that she has a relationship with Ares but of herself (then again haven’t done much research on this part so I could be wrong).

And Aphrodite is of the sea. The sea is no tame thing. It is wild. She is the Goddess of love and beauty and I’m getting a little pissed at Nikto for thinking she wouldn’t find him beautiful when it is her literal job to see the beauty in everything. Like come on dudeeee!!!!

I think the way you wrote him also pairs kinda well with the way you have the other Olympians view Aphrodite!Reader. I’d wonder if Aphrodite!Reader will ever snap on them and show them what it means to be the goddess of love and beauty.

Also fun fact, the ancient Greeks had multiple names for love that all had different meanings. I personally don’t know them all, but from what I recall, Eros is what they call romantic love.

Sorry for blabbing on, you don’t have to respond to this at all, just wanted to vent a little.

Oh no you're fine venting, I think a lot of people often think of Aphrodite in a specific way (pretty goddess of love who just cheats on her husband and is vindictive all the time) and here's what I will say regarding the way I'm writing Aphrodite!Reader:

Neither the reader nor Nikto is a reliable narrator.

Aphrodite sees herself as this wonderful loving force but she still walks the battlefield, taking trophies as often as she takes lives. She views herself as innocent in all of this drama and rumors, but she's done nothing to stop them(It's nice having Ares talk about how beautiful and good in bed she is, y'know?) She loves Nikto but she also treats him a bit like a curiosity, waiting for him to come to her because, well, everyone does eventually.

And Nikto is stuck in his vision of being cast aside by the gods. He's trapped in their mockery of him, why wouldn't he assume his unwilling wife, who begged to be kept a virgin goddess right before their wedding, doesn't like him? Aphrodite forces their way into his life, into his space, disrespecting any boundaries he tries to put up, of course he's wary of them. But at the same time Nikto only sees the parts of Aphrodite that they want him to see, the soft, the gentle, the loving with sweet voices and stroking fingers, so of course he thinks they're a bad fit. He's every bit her opposite.

The Trojan war has yet to happen in the timeline of the hephaestus!Nikto anthology, but I keep thinking about it because it will feel very out of character for Aphrodite to start a war over something as petty as vanity, but that's only because we've been seeing her through her own eyes.

Also I will say I think a lot of my softening of Aphrodite comes from my disbelief at the way goddesses act within Greek mythology. You're telling me every single goddess is vain and jealous, that they can't keep their man from cheating on them, that the Goddess of love can't find anything to love in her husband, that Artemis would turn her back on her desire to remain a virgin because one guy looked at her the right way? Like the way that the goddesses are depicted just reeks of misogyny and that particular brand of ancient Greek hatred for women. IDK So excuse me for making Aphrodite a little out of character from the myths in my attempt to give her the benefit of the doubt where no man ever did.

Sorry for the kind of spam, but I’m also wondering about your thoughts on Anya? Despite her, Swansea, Jimmy and Curly being the older “OG” crew and Daisuke being the newbie, there’s more of a divide between her and the rest of the crew. It’s Daisuke and Swansea, Curly and Jimmy, and then Anya. She doesn’t really seem to be anyone’s first choice.

I have a lot of thoughts on Anya! They're all kind of scattered because I haven't put the time in to sort them out in my head yet, but I find her super interesting. Probably the most tragic member of the crew but maybe that's stating the obvious.

(Okay I blabbed for like 8+ paragraphs again so I'm putting a cut here to spare people. Sorry for talking your ear off, but also thanks for the questions!!)

You are right, Swansea and Daisuke grew much closer to each other than either seemed to be with Anya. It makes sense given the internship situation and how their own respective issues played into each other, but it does suck that Anya ended up being so isolated. Especially considering how much longer Anya must have known Swansea.

I wish we could have seen more of it, but we do get some little hints that she at least got along with Swansea and Daisuke. Like at the party, she and Swansea are the only two people standing together, and she teases him about actually enjoying the shitty cake. I thought that was really cute. It's interesting to see that they have kind of a positive relationship even though Swansea also says some pretty shitty stuff to/about her. I wonder if, like Daisuke, she can tell that it's just kind of how he speaks and he doesn't really mean anything by it. Especially because she trusts him enough to tell him about Jimmy. Although that could have been out of desperation at that point too. Curious to hear what other people think about their relationship!

With Daisuke, it seems like it's pretty difficult not to be cool with him. As for how close they actually were, there's the Ludo game where Curly talks about Anya getting super mad at him for being so lucky. For a person like Anya I feel like being able to show that means she was pretty comfortable with him. (It's also the correct response to playing Ludo. Fuck that game.)

As for some other off-the-cuff thoughts:

This is kind of a chicken or the egg situation, but she struggles a lot with her self confidence, and the way the crew treats her just reinforces it. Like, she's trying to do her job, but when the crew won't co-operate she literally can't, but even though she can't control that she just accepts that it's her own fault, because that's what everyone else says.

Jimmy always gives her shit about having to give Curly his medication, but when she tells him she can do it herself he just shuts her down. Even when she doesn't ask him to do it. So she internalizes that and convinces herself that she really can't. But she kept the guy alive in that condition, with limited supplies, for like, 3 or 4 months. She can't really be as incompetent as everyone is telling her she is. I know there's some suspension of belief involved as well but I still think she deserves that credit where it's due.

On a similar note, I think the other reason she has trouble giving Curly the medicine, and hearing him struggle in pain, is because she feels guilty. Like, I think she blames herself for the crash.

Remember that first time you give Curly the medicine? When you talk to Anya again she asks why he did it. Then later we find out that right before the crash, she was talking to him about Jimmy and the pregnancy again. She thinks she sent him over the edge. Not to mention she was supposed to be making sure they were both mentally fit to fly. Obviously it's not her fault that Jimmy assaulted her, and it's not her fault that they refused to be honest about their problems with her.

You could say that if Jimmy's problem is that he can't take responsibility, Anya's problem is that she takes on too much of it, even when it's not hers to carry. And sometimes against her own will.

One more half-baked thought: I don't like to diagnose characters when it's not a clear/important part of the narrative, but I do think Anya takes part in some potentially compulsive behaviour.

When she has her conversation with Curly about the crew quarters not having locks, Curly mentions safety. We then see the word flash on the screen in the way key words or phrases often do.

At some point later, Daisuke mentions that ever since the crash Anya has been religiously reading the safety manual. I thiiiink there was at least one more time where it pops up, but I might have to go through the game to refresh my memory. I thought that was an interesting but fairly easy to miss little Anya trait.

All this to say Anya deserved a nice beach vacation and a stiff drink. (One without any mouthwash OR isopropyl alcohol, even!)
