#sorry for being a little tardy in my reply!
Note
Hiiiii, its me again lmao can I ask for a Jing Yuan oneshot with fem reader what if somebody close to him casually and unexpectedly confessed to him, like, she thinks it's normal for him to have somebody confess to him so reader just did so casually in the middle of their interaction, a little flustered, but doesn't make it too obvious.
Thank youuuu~♡ sorry about earlier btw, i got too excited when I saw you want to take requests and forgot that rules exist 😭 but you're so nice for correcting me, so thanks again.. and i hope you enjoy as well 😊 🥰
Hi! Thank you for the request. Lol, it's okay, you're a good egg. I understand that you were excited and I appreciate the enthusiasm. It all worked out in the end so there's nothing to worry about. I really hope you like this, I had a lot of fun writing this and I don't think I'll ever get bored of writing for Jing Yuan.

“You’re late.”
Those were the first words out of your mouth when General Jing Yuan finally showed up to your appointed lunch meet up. You tried to not let your disdain show as your nails tapped against the wooden table, tapping to an unknown beat as Jing Yuan took a seat across from you. There was an obvious pinch in your furrowed brow as your eyes briefly drifted over Jing Yuan only to be greeted by his lackadaisical smile. You should be used to his tardiness by now, he tended to run on his own internal clock. Yet somehow, you were still irritated as you pressed the seam of your lips into a tight, thin line.
The warm rays of sunshine danced off Jing Yuan’s face, the light almost as blinding as his smile as he settled in his seat on the private terrace. The gentle breeze played with the tips of his white mane of hair, rustling the bright red ribbon tied into a neat bow as you idly watched the movement from the corner of your eye. Your attention snapped back to Jing Yuan as he cleared his throat, his smile turning warm as he greeted you with soft eyes.
“My apologies for being late” he said. “I hope you haven’t been waiting long.”
You took a deep and calming breath, trying to let your seething resentment breeze past your lips and be lost in the dancing winds that rustled through the trees. You lightly shook your head as you straightened up in your seat.
“Not long, I suppose” you replied with a soft huff.
Jing Yuan tilted his head to the side, his eyes shimmering with endearment at the small little pout that formed on your lips. He waited for you to continue speaking, sensing the question that itched at the back of your scalp and lay heavy on your tongue. Your eyes focused on the little beauty spot just under his warm, honey coloured eyes, unable to look directly into his piercing gaze lest you be lost forever in their depths.
“So, why are you late?”
Jing Yuan waved his hand through the air, brushing off your question as a warm chuckle pushed past his lips. He shook his head.
“Do not worry about it” he replied.
Your gaze narrowed and your ears itched something fierce as you were waved off. Was he trying to tease you, knowing that you would be deathly curious now to wring an answer out of him? Sometimes, you think that Jing Yuan did subtly like to tease you, holding an air of mystery about him, keeping his cards close to his chest and a smile that told you that he knew something that you didn’t. And you really wanted to squeeze an answer out of him now. With a small and undignified huff, you crossed your arms over your chest and it took every ounce of Jing Yuan’s willpower not to coo at the adorable pout that tugged on your plump lips.
“It must have been something important, if it required the General’s rapt attention” you surmised.
Jing Yuan’s smile didn’t falter as you subtly tried to prod at him for more information, your body leaning forward slightly in your chair as your ears perked up for the next few words to slip past his lips. A warm hum stirred in the back of Jing Yuan’s throat as he lay his hands in front of him on the table, tracing the tips of his fingers over the dips in the wooden frame.
“You could say that” he replied with a firm nod and a nonchalant roll of his shoulders.
You waited for a brief moment, still leaning forward in your chair as you waited with baited breath.
“So?” you prompted.
The corners of Jing Yuan’s lips twitched a little higher, seeing as he now had your complete and undivided attention. He was pleased that you weren’t so cranky anymore now that your attention was diverted elsewhere.
“I had someone profess their love to me on the way over to meet you, that was all” Jing Yuan divulged.
Your eyebrows shot up to your hairline as you gave the General an incredulous look. Why was he talking so casually about it like he was observing the weather? Your arms fell from your chest and you almost jumped out of your seat to launch yourself across the table at him.
“Another?” you squawked. “That’s the third one this week!”
Jing Yuan laughed at the perturbed look on your face as you tried to wrap your head around it. You knew he was General and quite popular on the Luofu but sometimes, it was just a little ridiculous how much people fought for his attention. You had been friends with Jing Yuan for such a long time and no matter how many times this happened to him, you would still be astounded how casual Jing Yuan acted about the entire situation, like some poor soul didn’t just pour their heart out to him only to have him turn them down. Speaking of…You swallowed thickly, tongue darting over your lips as you considered your next words carefully, settling back in your seat as you cleared your throat with a polite cough.
“So, what did you say?” you inquired.
Jing Yuan quirked a bemused snowy brow in your direction as his smile turned coy. “Oh, interested to know?”
You playfully rolled your eyes as you bit the inside of your cheek. “You know I am. Come on, spill the tea.”
Jing Yuan continued to smile as he leaned forward in his chair, shoulders raised in a small shrug.
“What is there to spill? I turned them down, of course.”
Your eyes brightened at his words and you could feel your heart sing with joy. You let go of the breath you didn’t even realise you were holding and sighed in relief. You weren’t sure where in your relationship that your friendship started to turn and mean something more to you. Every time you heard someone confess to him, there was always a sense of panic that would knot in the pit of your stomach as your heart lodged itself in your throat in anticipation. But the amount of relief you would feel when he denied them always put you at ease, after feeling a little guilty about it. After all, they had plucked up the courage to admit their feelings and yet you were more of a coward. It was an inner turmoil you struggled with on a near, daily basis and you feared that if you didn’t act soon, someone else may just steal him away from you.
Jing Yuan continued to speak but you didn’t quite catch what he was saying, pulse racing frantically in your ears as you pondered on what you were about to do next. With the amount of people he had confessing to him, maybe you could try and shoot your shot as well. The worst he could say was no. You swallowed around the hard lump in your throat as you idly chewed on the dry skin around your cracked lips, your cheeks warm as the words suddenly came spilling from your mouth like a flowing river.
“You know, I think I should probably confess my feelings too, since half of the Luofu has already done it…”
“Hm?”
Jing Yuan paused with what he was saying when he heard you speak up, immediately swallowing his words as his ears pricked towards your meek voice. He blinked owlishly down at you, trying to process what you had just said for what felt like an eternity. After a brief pause, he stirred and smiled at you.
“Did you say something?” he asked.
It felt like your heart dropped down into your stomach and your skin fluctuated between icy cold chills and a rapid hot flush. You shook your head as you placed your shaky hands on the table as you pushed yourself upright, planning to make a quick escape so you could go bury yourself in a nest of blankets and cry for the next few days as you berated yourself for how stupid this idea was.
“Nope. Nothing. Not a damn thing” you stuttered in a flustered rush. “I have to leave now. Excuse me.”
Before you could get a chance to tuck your tail between your legs and make a swift exit, Jing Yuan reached over the table and grabbed your wrists before slamming your hands back to the table. The sharp sound rang in your ears as you cringed, eyes nervously flitting up to Jing Yuan. He smiled warmly at you. You tried to tug your hands free but he wouldn’t budge.
“Repeat what you said” Jing Yuan said in a slow and firm tone.
Gone was the dozing General. Now you were forced to deal with the war General that had been steering the Luofu clear of disasters for several centuries. And he would not brook your disobedience. You couldn't muster up the strength to try and leave. Not that Jing Yuan would let you get away with such an attempt. A shiver tickled the base of your spine as you lowered your gaze, chin tucked into your chest as you quietly murmured to yourself. He squeezed his hands around your wrists, the large palms of his hands warm and almost swallowing your tiny hands whole.
“Raise your head when you speak” Jing Yuan said. “I cannot hear you when you murmur like that.”
Irritation prickled at the back of your scalp and you couldn’t help but roll your eyes as you were put on the spot. Like he asked, you raised your head and jutted your chin out as you bared your teeth at him.
“Who are you? My Mother?” you grumbled with a biting tone.
“I will act like it if you keep giving me that attitude” he playfully bit back.
A long sigh blew past your lips as your shoulders sagged in defeat. You slowly raised your head, a frown tugging at your lips as you gave him big, sad doe eyes. It made his own gaze lose its sharpness as his eyes suddenly went soft at the little pout that crossed your visage. You idly scuffed your shoe along the floor.
“Why do you always have to be so mean to me?” you lamented.
A soft chuckle stirred in Jing Yuan’s chest. “Because it’s fun to tease you.”
Your cheeks puffed up as your pretty, soused lashes fluttered over your burning cheeks. Jing Yuan soothed the erratic beat of your heart as he drew his thumbs in circles over the fluttering pulse of your wrists, giving you a moment to gather your thoughts before he spoke in a soft voice.
“Speak to me, my dear.”
The term of endearment that breezed past his lips made you weak in the knees as you slowly crumbled under his alluring charm. You almost collapsed back down in your chair, the tips of your fingers tingling with numbness as you poked them into the rough calluses adorning Jing Yuan’s weathered hands. You turned your words over in your mind before trying to speak to him without the anxiety trying to force your throat to close up.
“I like you, Jing Yuan” you said. “Really, really like you. So much that I want you to maybe, possibly consider…going out with me?”
Your head was a mess and your sentences felt like a jumble of incoherent words strung together. Your emotions were violently swinging from side to side like an unstable pendulum and you were so surprised that you hadn’t gotten whiplash by now. You hated it when Jing Yuan put you on the spot like this and roasted you in the open fires of a furnace with his scrutinising gaze. Once your confession spilled past your lips, Jing Yuan snorted in response. Your face fell flat.
“Did you just snort at me, General?” you asked, trying to keep the venom out of your voice.
His shoulders shook with mirth before he roared with laughter. Not exactly the response you were expecting. Your jaw clenched as a soft hiss whistled through your teeth.
“You’re hurting my feelings, Jing Yuan.”
Jing Yuan shook his head as he squeezed your hands with reassurance. “I apologise. I’m just so…elated, to hear you say that.”
You blinked owlishly down at him, a small smile tugging at your lips. “Really?”
Jing Yuan rubbed his thumbs over your knuckles, his demeanour slipping back into casual and playful as he raised your hands to his lips. His breath was warm as if puffed against your skin and you couldn’t tear your gaze off the way his lips parted around a soft coo of your name.
“Of course. Why do you think I keep inviting you to these lunch dates?”
Your brain stopped functioning properly the second you felt his lips ghost over the back of your hands. That and what he had just casually admitted. The gears in your head started to chug and whirl as you came upon a sudden realisation. Had Jing Yuan been subtly hinting at you his true feelings this entire time and you were too dense to pick up on them? You were about to experience the five stages of grief within the span of ten seconds.
“You…should have made your intentions clearer” you said.
A mischievous smirk curled on his lips as he gave you a sly wink. “Now where’s the fun in that?” he purred as he kissed your hands again.
There was a scathing remark itching somewhere at the back of your mind but you lost it somewhere in the clutter of thoughts running a mile a minute through your skull.
“We’ve wasted a lot of time” you pointed out.
“Then I guess we’ll just have to make up for it.”

Wholesome moments
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Formula one grid & female!driver!reader
Summary - 5 wholesome moments
Warning - none tbh, happy crying?? Being drunk??
Reader drives for RedBull
-
One - Late to post race press
I was in my drivers room, relaxing after a race. Strolling through tiktok when my manager, Emma, rushs in looking annoyed. "Oh hi Emma" I offer her a small smile which seems to only annoy her more.
"What are you doing?!" Her tone angry, by now I was confused. Pointing down to my phone which had a random tiktok playing on repeat. "You have the post race press, it was meant to start ten minutes ago but their waiting on you!" It was only then when I finally looked at the time, she was right.
Jumping up from the leather sofa, rushing out of my room toward the conference room with Emma close behind. Walking in, I could see everyones eyes on me. "Hey...so sorry for my tardiness" Laughing at myself awkwardly whilst everyone soon joined in with laughter.
Sit down in my seat between Fernando and Carlos. "So tell us Y/n what was so important that time fell away from you?" Turning my head to Daniel who had a smug smile on his face.
"Well if you must know Danny, tiktok has become very addictive recently" I wore a sheepish smile on my face as the room once again erupted in laughter.
"See kids these days, hooked to their phone" Daniel replied, shaking his head knowingly. It wsm't long before the laughter died down and we started press with myself in attendance.
Two - Prankster
If there was one thing on the paddock that I was known for it would be my notorious prank on anyone and everyone. LIke one time, I posted a instagram announcing 'my retirement'. This meant that I had my phone blowing up, texts, comments, missed calls and etc. I remember about two minute after I posted the instagram, I could a call from Christian. "Hey Chris!"
"What the hell Y/n?! What is going on with your instagram post?" I had to surpress my laughter and acted somewhat sad. He sounded upset, this made me feel almost sad for him.
"Oh yeah I know that its the middle of the season but I found some thing better for myself.." It was going great, I loved it. After a few seconds of silence, he came back to his sense.
"What could you have possible found that is better than not only driving for Redbull but for formula one?!" His voice was soon becoming more and more annoyed, and what I was about to say would set him off.
It was really hard to surpress myself from laughing when I told him the 'better thing'. "Have you ever heard of dog food tasters?" One could only imagine what his head was going through.
Yet again there was a few seconds of an awakward silence, a silence to sit through and not laugh. "Y/n... you're kidding me, you're the fussiest person I have ever met! And you're going to from fucking formula one and redbull to a dog food taster... you won't even drink coffee, let alone dog food!"
I could no longer hold in my laughter, doubling over I could hear Chris questioning my laugh. "Oh my god! You actually believed me, Christian I'm not leave redbull or formula one. I just pranked you" Dead silence until I heard Christian chuckle.
“I should of known, you little prankster” Let’s just say for the rest of the day, my phone would not turn off. Nearly every other driver on the grid calling, anxiety coursing through their heads.
Three - the little weight
It was the yearly FIA prize giving ceremony, everyone swapped out of their uniforms for gowns and suits. Hair and makeup done.
Sat in the buzzing venue, the night of celebrations meant I had not kept track of the amount of alcohol I was downing. Until I was announced as rookie of the year.
Raising from my seat, I made my way to stage. The crowd were clapping and cheering, I could see the other drivers sporting proud smiles.
Arriving to the mic which sat in the middle of the stage, I was handed my trophy. “Oh wow, thank you! I would like to say that I love you all and I’m that I want to thank Alex Turner for this because he is hot!” All it was rambling, I continued to ramble until Lando stood up from his seat.
“Quick question! Y/n how many drinks have you had?” His voice contained both concerns and amusement.
Holding up my free hand with two fingers, almost proudly. This small gesture made everyone burst into a light laughter. “Oh god! You are so drunk..” Lando trailed off whilst climbing up the stairs before walking me off stage.
“Come on, I think it’s time we start getting some water down you and maybe getting you home” He continued to walk me over to the grand reception where we waited for a taxi and drank some water.
-
Waking up the next morning, I was in my bed. Looking over at my phone, I could see a text from Lando along with other notifications probably regarding last night.
‘Hey kiddo, I managed to get you back to your apartment last night. Maybe next time don’t drink as much
Lots of love your big brother’
Checking social media, I immediately got embarrassment as my drunken ramble went viral.
Four - First F1 podium
“Okay Leclerc and Hamilton have a hot 7 seconds gap between you and them, keep pushing” It was the Austrian race and I had somehow settled myself into p2.
My anxiety was on an all time high when I was racing but currently being in p2 made that anxiety worsen. “Copy..” I was focused on getting that podium.
It would be my first podium, and even if I didn’t stand in pole position I would be happy. “How many laps left?” I asked my race engineer through the radio, I wanted to finish the race as soon as possible.
“Only two laps left, you can do it!” Only two that was reassuring to say the least. I could hear crowd cheering but I didn’t let that next my focus from the p2 spot.
“One lap left! Keep pushing!” One lap. One more lap until could stand on that podium for the first time. I accelerated the car, there was no chance I would catch Max but I had to keep that distance from the Ferrari and Mercedes behind me.
“There’s the checkered flag! You can do!” I could see the line and flag waving in the distance, it was only when I crossed the line that I really let my focus go and come to the realisation that I was on the podium.
“I did it! I fucking did it! P2 baby! That’s what I like to hear!” I could my race engineer laugh at my antics of the radio, whilst also tell me that they were incredibly proud.
-
Standing on the podium, I looked over at the crowd. A large smile was planted on my face. “Kiddo you did it! You’re on the podium!” I heard Max who was of course in p1 exclaim beside me.
I was soon soaked in sweet champagne, I didn’t care if it ruined my hair. All I cared about was the position I finished today’s race with.
Five - P1…oh how I like this view
Once again I was sat in the redbull car, awaiting for my the race to begin. I was very lucky to be granted pole position in Monaco of all places. It was tense as we all waited for the five lights to flash out.
And when the did, I was off leaving the wait line in no time. Tackling every tight curve, accelerating when ever I saw someone even get close to me.
I could feel the blazing sun down on my race suit. I could smell the scent of burning rubber. I could hear crowds who had lined the tracks. I could taste the exhaust filled air. But I felt like I had gone blind, just focusing on the track and maintaining my car from any possible damage.
Whilst in pit stop, my anxiety ran through the heavens. Just wanting to get back on the track and end with my win.
I was up against some of the best of the best. And I had to hold onto the pole position, hold onto that winning position.
“Verstappen is just over 5 seconds behind you so not much of a gap, keep pushing when you can” My race engineer was aware of anxiety when it came to racing, but she was also aware of my hunger for that winning position.
“Copy, how many laps?” Once again I was twisting around the narrow corners.
“Three, if you push the gap bigger you’ll probably win!” That’s was all I needed to give me motivation to push as hard as I can.
Pressing down on the accelerator, I heard the rumbling of my car increase in sound.
-
After three agonising laps, I could see the checkered flag being waved. Tears were welling up on my waterline. It was only when I cross that finish line when I then let them fall down my cheeks.
“I did… I’m first” I whispered, so only myself and my face engineer could hear. It was barely audible over the loud crowds who were cheering me on for my first win.
-
Finally standing above the number felt great. I felt tall, empowered, unstoppable and proud. Everyone was cheering as I was handed the trophy. Off to the side were the rest of the drivers who hadn’t won podium stood smiling up at me.
I felt that familiar family love once again. I always did whether I didn’t place top ten or if I had gotten to that first place position. I would be lying if I didn’t feel that love to them in return.

Quiet
Hobi x Reader
Summary: Just a lil blurb about Hobi realizing that it's okay to not always be his sunshiny self around you.
Warnings: not proofread
A/N: Thanks to @seleneacyoflove for requesting this, as well as the lovely anon who sent this headcanon! This is short and kinda eh, but I hope you’ll still like it💜
Masterlist
°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
Quiet was something that Hobi had learned to avoid over the years. Quiet was awkward, quiet meant concerned glances and inquiries. In his work, quiet meant stagnation. Even on his own, he had come to dread the silence.
But after weeks of packed schedules and non-stop traveling and rehearsals, fatigue had finally weighed him down enough that nothing could possibly compel him to move from the place where he’d spent the better part of the last hour, resting heavily against your side on the sofa, head on your shoulder while your hands traced absent-minded patterns on his skin.
The two of you hadn’t gotten to spend any time together in weeks, but mercifully, you had managed to match up your schedules so that you had an entire weekend together to catch up and reconnect.
Normally he would be bouncing off the walls with excitement; no work, no worries, just you and him and two days of freedom to do whatever you wanted. And although he was happy to finally have time with you, he was so unbelievably tired that he found himself drifting, unable to find the energy to add much to your conversation throughout dinner, just quietly basking in the comforting rhythm and cadence of your voice.
Eventually though, you fell quiet as well, letting silence settle over the two of you as you cuddled together watching tv, his eyes on the screen but not taking in anything that was going on, his mind wandering further as a faint sense of guilt began to swirl in his stomach.
“I’m sorry.” He suddenly said in a quiet voice.
You looked down at him, confused. “For what?”
“For not being here.” He said, playing with your fingers as he avoided your eyes.
You intertwined your hand with his, stilling his movements.
“You are here.” You said gently.
He shook his head. “Not properly, not how I want to be.”
He was always known as everyone’s sunshine, their energy, their hope. But at moments like this, when he was so drained and distant, he felt like he was letting you down.
He was pulled from that train of thoughts by the feeling of your lips against his cheek, glancing up to meet your gaze, your face full of understanding.
“That’s okay. Everyone needs quiet time, there’s nothing wrong with that.” You said. “I don’t mind being like this with you.”
And in a way, it was such a simple statement, but the sense of relief that it caused to wash over him was so profound, it was like he could breathe properly for the first time in he didn’t know how long, his whole body relaxing back against you, letting his head slowly droop to rest on your shoulder again.
You were still looking at him with a small smile. “Is there anything you need me to do? Do you want to just go on to bed?”
He shook his head, snuggling closer to you.
“Can we stay here?” He asked. “At least for a little longer?”
“We can stay here as long as you want.” You replied, letting your fingers resume their previous activity, tracing tiny designs along his arm.
“Thank you.” He whispered, the silence that surrounded the two of you for once not feeling suffocating to him. Instead, it felt comforting, like slipping into bed at the end of a long day. It felt peaceful, safe.
“Anytime, baby.”

For art request. Would love to see Dick and Tim being feral chaos brothers. They enabled each other so hard in Tim's Robin days and I find it hilarious. If that doesn't inspire, no worries. Thanks for sharing your art with the batfandom!
Super sorry for the tardy reply, college shook me out of all my creativity (so sorry if the dick & Tim chaotic energy doesn’t go as hard as in the comics lmaooo, love those boys though) but I made a little gif for ya!
Also ofc! I love sharing my stuff, glad ppl are enjoying it as well, hehe!
I do think dick & Tim would bully Jason whenever they’d have the opportunity if he hadn’t bit it too early in the game 🤧
Hope you enjoy! :D

Mr. Fushiguro [I]
Tumblr media
flirtation and humiliation with your professor part one | part two wc 2200
You have a meeting with Mr. Fushiguro, your personal tutor, this afternoon regarding your dissertation. You're dreading it a little, not only because you're unsure what your project will be, but Mr. Fushiguro is also incredibly intimidating and attractive. You often feel nervous during his seminars, or passing him in the corridor, but being alone with him makes you pretty anxious.
Despite feeling nervous, you arrive outside his office a few minutes early so as not to displease him. He hates tardiness. It seems as though he can hear you hovering outside his door as your knuckles hesitate inches from the wood. “You coming in or what?” You hear his deep voice, muffled from the inside.
You enter, a little startled, and step up to his desk as he flicks through some paperwork. He looks up at you as you stand fidgeting near the chairs on the opposite side of the desk. “Sit.” He mutters and returns to his work. The quick glance he gives you with his striking green eyes is enough to make your heart rate increase as you take your seat.
You feel intimidated by everything he does, everything he says, and it's like he knows you're so weak for him. The way you blush under his gaze and your shy glances at him give you away. You also avoid spending time with him alone, not without him noticing of course.
In fact, he notices and takes advantage of this. He often requests that you stay behind after lectures, just so he can talk to you some more, usually about your studies or just pointless small talk. He enjoys watching you squirm.
But today he can't be avoided. You fiddle with your skirt and wait patiently for him to finish what he's doing. As the clock ticks over to 4pm Mr. Fushiguro sets down his papers he was marking and straightens up in his chair, looking up at you with his piercing green eyes.
“Y/n,” he greets you like he's only just seen you, “remind me what our meeting is about today.”
“I need to decide… what my dissertation project will be, sir,” you reply.
He taps his pen on the table, “Mm hmm. That should be easy for someone like you,” he strokes his neck then stretches his arms over his head, desperate to move after sitting down for too long.
“So, have you had any thoughts, y/n?” You look down, feeling flustered as his muscles flex, his shirt pulling tight over his chest. “Um…” You murmur and twist your hair.
“Look, did you come here for a chat or not?” He asks flatly. Mr. Fushiguro is impatient and snappy at times, which adds to his intimidating personality.
“S-sir, it’s not that I–” you start, unable to find your words as you look up at him again, watching his lips curl into a slight smirk. He’s enjoying the embarrassed look on your face as you can barely look into his eyes.
“So, what is it then?” His voice sounds rough and deep. You look down into your lap again, then try to look up at him, “I, I– I’m sorry, sir. I’m a little stuck for ideas at the moment. Can we discuss this over email?” You blurt out your excuses, unable to withstand his intense glaring for a second longer as you suddenly stand and turn, ready to bolt for the door.
“Y/n.” Mr. Fushiguro’s deep voice stops you in your tracks. He steps around his desk and sits on the edge as you turn to face him. He raises his finger and beckons for you to come back. “I told you to sit. I don’t remember permitting you to leave just yet,” he says as you step back towards him, your legs quivering as you fight the urge to run.
He pats the chair that’s right below him now, encouraging you to sit in front of him again– this time much closer. Although you feel like you're being ensnared in some kind of trap, you sit and peer up at him as he gets comfy on his desk, one leg lazily dangling off the edge as the other props him up. His trousers fit him so well– you can see his defined thigh muscles as the material stretches over him.
“If you’re not going to talk, then I’ll have to start.” He looks down at you with a smile. “I’ll begin with a question– one that you should easily be able to answer. Why do you act like this around me, y/n?” He asks as if it’s the simplest question in the world.
“A-act like what, sir…?” you trail off, realising that he’s going to be dissatisfied by this non-answer. “Don’t answer my question with another question, y/n.” He snaps predictably, furrowing his eyebrows. He waits, tapping a big finger on the wooden desk and raising an eyebrow at you. You know he won’t repeat himself.
“Ok, I’ll try an easier question.” His expression shifts from displeased to curious as he peers down at your blushing face. “Do you find me attractive?” You look down as your hand covers your face. “I-I…” you stumble. “It’s very simple. Yes or no, y/n.”
“Mr. Fushiguro… I, I…” you feel so embarrassed– he must get a lot of attention like this and you figure he might be fed up with it by now; young, inexperienced women fawning over him, unable to express their feelings to him. You presume that he finds it all very bothersome and tiring.
So you try your best to get your head clear and speak to him properly. “Yes, sir.” You say quietly as you look up at him again. “Very good.” He praises you, smiling slightly at your answer. “Now, another question: do you want to fuck me?” He asks flatly.
You can’t help but take your bottom lip between your teeth, looking up at him pleadingly as if to say, please don’t make me answer that. He’s just doing this to humiliate me. You think as you put off answering him for just a little longer.
But his intense eye contact indicates that he wants you to answer right now. You nod, looking away from his eyes. He sighs and taps his finger on the desk, waiting for you to answer him properly.
You sigh, your cheeks and nose blushing pink. “Use your words, y/n. You’re usually very good at expressing your thoughts in class.” He encourages you.
“Yes, sir…” you manage, feeling totally overwhelmed with shame. You can’t believe he made you admit that. Out loud. You just want to disappear. “Well done. Now that we have that cleared up, would you like to talk about your dissertation project with me?” He asks, sounding insincere as a snarky smile spreads over his features.
He knows you can barely form sentences right now, let alone think about your third year research project that will carry most of your grade for your final year and overall degree. You let out a sad sigh, “I, I don’t think I can… right now…” you admit as you look down. You must look pitiful. That just adds to your embarrassment.
“So, you want me to fuck you first, then talk about your project?” Your heart skips a beat. What the fuck did he just say? Your mind is racing– you presume you didn’t hear him right as you look up at him with wide and confused eyes. There’s a long pause before you murmur, “E-excuse me, sir?” You feel your lip trembling.
He really doesn’t like repeating himself. He just sighs through his nose, his patience clearly wearing thin. He gazes over your body, his eyes trailing up your long legs and hovering over your short skirt. His eyes snap up to meet yours, “If you’re having trouble with that, perhaps you shouldn’t be on my course.” He hisses, looking down at you menacingly.
“Y-yes…” you manage, your voice wavering as you don’t know what he’ll do once you’ve answered. He’ll probably kick me out, or maybe he’ll remove me from his course.
“Yes, what?” You can’t take it anymore; the long pauses, the deafening silence, his fierce glaring have all got you feeling feverish. You close your eyes tight, “I want you to fuck me first, Mr. Fushiguro!” You blurt out, finding it easier to talk with your eyes closed.
“That wasn’t too hard, was it?” He asks, then pauses, tapping his lip with a big finger. “Shall we see just how badly you want to fuck?” He almost lets out a chuckle, his scar curling over his lips.
You’re so close to letting out a whine as you wait silently in trepidation. “What shall I have you do… ah, first please lock the door, y/n.” You sigh in relief and stand to complete your task.
“Ah, ah…” he stops you, shaking his head, “on your knees.” He sneers. Fuck. You should’ve known it wouldn’t have been that easy. Your big eyes look into his, silently asking him do I really have to do this? “If you don’t want to do it, you can leave.” He says simply, giving you your answer.
You turn and try to pull down your skirt a little, earning a low chuckle from your professor as you look back at him with wide eyes. You know he won’t budge. He’s made up his mind and he’s going to have some fun with you before he fucks you. You’re not even sure if he will fuck you.
You slowly bend down and get on your knees as you begin crawling towards the door. You lock it, turn to face Mr. Fushiguro again and start to stand up. He doesn’t move, he doesn’t say a thing, but his piercing eyes stare you down, forcing you back onto your knees. He intimidates you so much.
“C-can I stand up, sir?” He just shakes his head, his eyes following you as you reluctantly lean over, revealing your cleavage to him as your shirt drops.
In the meantime, he’s tilted the blinds and turned on his desk lamp, illuminating the room as you kneel near your chair, wanting to stand up. He looks down at you with a smirk as he’s ready to give you your next instruction.
He makes you tidy his desk, organise his papers, books and stationary. Although this situation is embarrassing, you’re very aware of the fact that he’s turning you on by ordering you around. He’s getting you hot without even touching you.
Next he asks you to sit in his chair and unbutton your shirt. You’re a little hesitant, but you comply, unfastening each button slowly, pausing as you reach just above your bra. “Did I tell you to stop?” He asks, his gaze unfaltering.
You undo one more button then hear a knock at the door. You freeze, sitting below Mr. Fushiguro as he leans on his desk, “Answer it.” Your fingers frantically attempt to button up your shirt. Mr. Fushiguro clicks his tongue, demanding your attention as your eyes dart up to his.
“Did you hear me say ‘do up your shirt then answer the door’?” You shake your head. “No, you didn’t. So answer it like that. You can walk this time.”
Your shirt is barely covering your lacy bra underneath as you answer the door and explain that Mr. Fushiguro is busy. You make some excuses as you quickly close and lock the door again, stepping back towards his desk.
You feel your professor's eyes all over you as you walk towards him. He stops you halfway back and makes you hike up your skimpy skirt. “I can’t believe you decided to wear that to my office.” He shames you for wearing the short skirt, which is kind of revealing (but really cute).
He hands you some books and asks you to place them on the second to top shelf on his bookcase. You can just about reach, tiptoeing and stretching up, but the reason he asked you to do this is becoming apparent as you feel your skirt lifting up further, exposing your cute underwear as your back arches, your ass pushing out.
You're really struggling with one of the books. It's so heavy, your delicate fingertips are having trouble pushing it the last few centimetres onto the shelf. The book suddenly slips from your fingers and falls to the floor, making a loud slamming noise in the quiet office.
You hurriedly bend over to pick it up and try again, but you can hear Mr. Fushiguro clicking his tongue behind you. “That's an expensive edition, y/n. Let me see it.”
You step over to him, his large frame looming over you as you hand him the book, his fingers brushing over yours. He examines the cover, “Looks like you'll have to be punished.” He shrugs and sighs, setting it on his desk.
You try to make your excuses but your professor isn't listening. He beckons for you to come closer. This is the closest you've ever got to Mr. Fushiguro; you feel his breath fanning you and you notice the faintest wrinkles on his handsome face. You stare up at him with wide eyes, daring to meet his.

Peace At Last

A purely self-indulgent Ten x Reader fic because I just love Ten so much okay! (gif made by me)
Let me know what you think!
Read on ao3
Tagging some people I’ve recently followed who I think might like it: @denaliwrites @tatennant @doctor-donnaa @quite-right-too @theetherealbloom @my-lonely-angel @casasupernovas @kbishop @tennant @raining-stars-somewhere-else @davidtennan-t
Ten x Reader, she/her/hers pronouns, one use of Y/N
(Sorry if this causes pain especially since it’s the last episode with Fourteen and David Tennant as The Doctor today. Wishing everyone so much love and hope you can cope with the pain we will all be experiencing in 5 hours!)
They bumped into each other.
Literally.
He wasn’t looking where he was going, just trying to focus on not collapsing in the street before he could make it back to the TARDIS, and she was coming out of a shop.
This was almost the end.
He could feel it.
He felt it when he saw Rose but he couldn’t let go.
Not yet.
He had one more stop.
He wanted to be near where she lived.
He just wanted to be near her.
One last time.
He didn’t want to wipe her memory but he had to.
It wasn’t like it was with Donna but he knew that one day she would die because of him and he didn’t want that.
He couldn’t bear the thought.
It had to be done so she could live and she never would have left of her own accord. She would never leave him willingly so what other choice did he have?
Especially after trying to change time and becoming The Time Lord Victorious. Look how that turned out.
Adelaide Brooke still died only it was his fault instead of it being an accident.
“Oh shit! Sorry! I should have been looking where I was going!” A voice said.
“No, it’s m-” He knew that voice. His luck really was great(!)
He must’ve paused for a beat too long because she spoke again. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
That was her all over. Always worrying and caring about others (him especially).
“Yeah! I’m fine!” He replied, trying to sound nonchalant. “Just feeling a bit under-the-weather. Winter and all, you know?” His voice didn’t sound like him. It was nervous, slightly high-pitched, and shook a little. He hoped that she didn’t know that there was something wrong.
“I know. You might want to invest in some actual winter clothes though to keep you warm. Converse and winter are not the best combination,” she laughed, looking him up and down at his unusual (to her now anyway) attire.
He could’ve cried and hugged her at hearing the jibe she’s told him multiple times while travelling with him. Instead, he forced himself to laugh and smile at her.
“Yeah, I suppose I should. Maybe one day,” he replied, scratching the back of his neck. A habit that he had developed when he was nervous.
She would have noticed and usually tried to comfort him. But not now. The thought made his hearts ache.
“Sorry but do I know you?” She asked, staring at him with a slight frown. His hearts leapt into his throat. “You just seem so familiar. What’s your name?”
He quickly composed himself before replying with a classic phrase. “No, sorry, I don’t think you do. I guess I just have one of those faces. Name’s David. David Smith.”
She had told him to stop with the John Smith alias as “no-one believes that’s your name. I may as well call myself Jane Doe.” So he had changed it as soon as he wiped her mind. Just in case he ever saw her again and the name John Smith made her remember.
“David…” She trailed off, as if she was trying to place the name, still slightly frowning until the crease between her eyebrows eased. “I guess you do just face on of those faces. Sorry about that,” she finished, smiling sheepishly.
He mentally released a breath that he didn’t realise he was holding.
“No worries,” he replied, smiling to try to ease her embarrassment that he knew she was feeling.
She may not remember him but he still knew her like the back of every hand he’s ever had.
They stood there for a few moments, longer than two seemingly strangers should, just smiling at each other before she looked away, a light blush colouring her already flushed cheeks from the cold.
His hearts ached again and pain filled his entire being.
He would never get to see her blush from embarrassment due to looking at him for too long again.
“I should probably go before the snow gets worse,” she said.
He looked around and noticed that the snow had started to get heavier since they had been talking.
“Of course. Get home safe.” His voice cracked. Home should be in the TARDIS with him.
“You too. Before you go,” she said, putting a hand on his arm as he was turning the leave.
He could feel the pain of having to leave her almost bring him to his knees due to feeling her touch again. It had felt so long since he had felt that and he never wanted her to stop.
He would never feel her comforting touch or her hand in his again and he was starting to break
She was rummaging through her bag and took out a blue scarf. TARDIS blue.
“Here,” she said softly as she leaned up on her tip toes and wrapped it around his neck. “I don’t know why but I just bought this. It’s not really my thing and I don’t have anyone else to give it to but there was something in my mind that urged me to buy it. Maybe this was fate,” she chuckled. “There! Looks great!” She grinned, smoothing out the scarf and his breath caught as her fingers grazed the back of his head.
“Thank you, he responded quietly, tears filling his eyes “Truly. Thank you.” He took her hands in his and kissed the back of them.
“You’re very welcome,” she said, just as quietly as him, and blushed once more.
He let go of her hands and took a step back. He swore that he saw disappointment on her face at that.
He didn’t have time to dwell on it for too long as she had thrown her arms tightly around his waist and pressed her face into his chest, taking a deep breath of him in.
He wasn’t sure if his hearts had stopped completely or if they were beating so fast that he couldn’t feel them beating properly anymore.
He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head, taking in the familiar and comforting scent.
The hug ended as quickly as it had started but before he could feel too disappointed, she had placed her hands on his shoulders, almost wrapping her arms around his neck like the scarf was, and pressed her lips to his cheek.
She stepped back and smiled brightly at him
“Merry Christmas, Doctor,” she said as she walked away.
He was frozen.
Did she just-?
Could she-?
No.
She couldn’t remember him.
Could she?
His brain was working faster than normal.
“Merry Christmas, Y/N,” he called after her before he knew was he was doing.
She briefly turned back and waved, that beautiful smile still on her lips, lighting up her whole face.
“Merry Christmas, my love,” he whispered, turning the corner as quickly as he could to find the TARDIS before him.
He could feel the old girl humming happily in his head and he smiled at her in return.
The image of his love didn’t leave his mind.
Not even as he noticed Ood Sigma.
Not even as he started to feel the pain of death returning.
Even when the Ood started singing to him and he felt himself burning, he could still see her.
Her smile bright and warm, helping him find peace.
At last.
~ A few streets away ~
“Huh. That was weird,” she said out loud.
Shrugging, she entered a café, still smiling and felt a warmth that travelled deep into her soul.

Little Companion (10th Doctor x fem child! Reader)
Summary : Little companion has nightmares and seeks comfort with an alien with two hearts
Warning : it's 10th Doctor.. He's sweet, warm, cuddle, nightmare, reader age between 5 or 7 years. Papa Figure.
As usual, I'm sorry if there are any wrong sentences or typos or grammatical mistakes, please forgive me and again English is not my first language, so I try to improve my language and writing in this way.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *. .* :☆゚. ───
Tossing left and right, you're whining slowly. Your eyes are closed tightly but your face is scrunched as if you see something scary and then suddenly you wake up from your slumber.
you panted a few breaths and looked around fearfully. Your forehead is visibly wet with sweat while your body is shaking with fear.
It's been 3 times you've had nightmares. everything is the same and does not change. Your dream of being kidnapped by a Dalek and having to see the Doctor suffering with the torture that the Dalek put on the Doctor in front of you makes you afraid and worried about the situation you see. And there was a time when you could hear the shrill voice of a Dalek shouting "exterminate!" around you and one by one they blast shots at you both causing you to jerk awake from sleep.
You whimper in fear, your eyes are glossy with tears as you reach for the pillow to hug and hug it tightly to your body seeking comfort from it. You don't have anyone to comfort you, so a hug pillow is one of the comforts you get, but it's not enough.
While you have been traveling with the Doctor for 2 months, you are still afraid to seek comfort with the Doctor because you are afraid of him do not like physical touches.
You know the Doctor is easy going and bursts with joy energy but you are still worried about finding comfort in him. There are times when the Doctor can be serious and intimidating.
But you really need someone to comfort you if you have nightmares again. So you dare yourself to go seeking comfort at the Doctor.
Slowly you got up from your bed and walked out of your bedroom. The atmosphere of the TARDIS is quite quiet and calm and humming can be heard around it, probably it is the TARDIS that made it. You let out a short breath and walked over to the console to find the Doctor.
As soon as you arrive at the control console, your eyes search for a glimpse of the Doctor who usually lodges at the control point to find the next adventure. But he is not there.
Strange, you looked for the Doctor and saw him sitting under the TARDIS controls fixing some wires while talking to himself. You walked over to where he was and kneeled over him.
The doctor who was busy fixing the wire looked up after noticing your presence.
"Y/n, why aren't you sleeping yet?" The Doctor asked you confused.
"I was asleep but I woke up because of a nightmare" you replied in your small voice.
The Doctor's face then became concerned. "what happened? how many times have you had nightmares?"
"it's been 3 times I've had nightmares but all nightmares are the same" you said lowly.
The Doctor then got up from where he was and sat next to you. Doctor then hugged your small body tightly. Your head was on his chest and you could hear the sound of the Doctor's hearts beating quietly.
"You can find me if you can't sleep, you know?" The doctor said and put his head on top of your head and closed his eyes.
"I really want to find you but I'm afraid you don't like physical touch" you said into his chest even though it sounded muffled because of how close your head was to his chest.
"That's not right. I'm always open to whatever comfort you want. So don't worry because I'll be there for you" Doctor kissed your hair and stroked your back gently.
"I dreamed we were kidnapped by the Daleks and.. and you were tortured by the Daleks. It's scary and overwhelmed." you said shakily.
"hey, hey.. It's ok.. it's just a nightmare. Besides, we've escaped them many times, haven't we?" The doctor tried to lighten up the mood.
You nodded slightly. "Can I cuddle with you until I fall asleep?" you ask the Doctor.
"Of course you can. Before that, we don't want to sleep in the control area do we?" The Doctor jokes.
You chuckled and nodded then stood up and walked with the Doctor to your bedroom with your hand tightly around the Doctor's.
No matter where you are, the Doctor will be there to comfort you.

Acolyte
word count: 2.7k a/n: hii i'm going through a depressive episode and this is my fic about soap with a depressed reader cos he's my babygirl. might expand on them idk i love soap i wanna keep writing for him
Johnny is a friend of Kyle’s, and Kyle is a friend of Farah, who is your friend. And Johnny, or Soap, is here because Kyle invited him since he had “nothing better to do”. And it’s alright, he’s fun and a little loud, he talks over people but always apologises. You were a little nervous to meet him, having been promised a get-together with people you were already well-acquaintances with, but the tears in your eyes, from laughing, that is, dismiss all previous nerves.
“And then he-” He’s cut off by his own wheeze, it’s been going for a couple of minutes; him and Kyle trying to retell a story about their captain, but they keep getting interrupted by their own laughter. You don’t think it’s that funny, if anything their reactions are the thing that make you all go into hysterics. It’s hard to feel sorry for all the other patrons.
You feel drunker than you really are, save for Farah, you only had two to three beers each. It’s the kind of silly drunkenness induced by being with friends. The forgotten UNO cards on top of the table shake as Johnny’s fist hits the table trying to catch his breath.
And the pub’s playlist keeps playing every top #1 hit from the last 20 years. And at some point you’re all performing a rendition of smash hit “500 miles”. And you’re getting giggly with sleep. And Farah’s driving you home. And she’s asking you about Johnny, which makes you giggly all over. And she’s telling you he’s single.
And then it’s morning. And there’s a message from an unknown phone number.
“Hey. This is Johnny.
Just wanted to let you know I had a blast last night, loved meeting you :-)”
It makes you smile trying to figure out what to write back. Why is it so hard to sound nonchalant while also a little interested in getting to know him?
“So did I!
Haven’t laughed that hard in a while lol”
That’s cool, right? It’s half a good response at the very least, since you get a response back.
“Wanna meet sometime?”
Oh, that’s good. At best, you get a little attention and maybe a lay, at worst you get a new friend. You keep texting throughout the day, you two fit like a puzzle piece: talkative, extroverted and active. He sends you a picture of a squirrel he saw earlier on his morning run, you send him a picture of your cat back with the caption “my asshole son” to which he replies “don’t be mean to him”. Those little interactions keep getting exchanged. On Monday, you send him a fun fact about a shark that had a virgin birth. Tuesday, he’s telling you about his fear of dogs. Wednesday is the perfect occasion for a picture of your cat, Gus, sleeping in a funny position. Thursday, your phone pings with a string of texts ranting about Glasgow City. Friday you’re texting Johnny that you’re at the restaurant you’re meeting at, a hole-in-the-wall that mastered the art of oily food and crispy chips, he replies he’s running late.
“I’m so sorry for making you wait.” Is out of his mouth before any greeting. “Are ye hungry?” It’s more a conversation starter than an actual question.
“It’s okay! No worries.” You’re just happy to be hanging out, not bothered by his tardiness.
The two of you sit and chat, you learn he has a tattoo of a revolver but won’t say where. He laughs at the face you make while imagining where it would be. “Don’t be dirty!” He chastises, it’s within the law that you steal one of his chips as payment for the teasing. You ask where does Soap come from.
“A’m good at cleaning.” It’s a short answer that explains enough, you’re not keen on pushing the topic any further. Luckily, he changes the topic rather quickly, it looks like he’s not a big fan of silences. “Tell me aboot Gus. How’d you get him?”
“A colleague’s cat had kittens, she was trying to find them homes, Gus was the only one left, runt of the litter you know?” He nods, listening, interested in what you have to say. “Kept pushing and showing me pictures of the guy until I caved. When I took him home he wouldn’t stop screaming, I think he might be part siamese, they’re really vocal. So, he kept me up all night, I thought he was sick or something, I even took him to the emergency vet, turns out he’s just a dickhead.” He smiles at the insult. “A very cute one, though.” You add, it’s hard not to love him even if he wakes you up at 6 a.m. on the dot.
“Can I meet him someday?” he might if you’re lucky enough.
You might as well thank every saint, divinity, and omnipotent being for your luck tonight. He accompanies you home, only because “he’s a gentleman”, according to him. The kind of gentleman that kisses you dizzy and gets invited into your flat.
You text Farah about the events of the evening before falling asleep, it’s not kiss and tell if she’s your best friend. And in the early morning you’re both woken up by an angry Gus, whose side of the bed has been stolen by a guy that almost doesn’t fit in it. You’re cuddled on his side, one leg over his.
“Gus-Gus….” It’s a groggy mumble of displeasure, you know he only wants to be beside you, but the hour doesn’t help your mood. Still, you move away from Johnny so he can jump onto your chest for cuddles.
“He does skirl alright.” That morning voice might actually be the death of you.
“Told you. He’s an asshole.” A breathy laugh makes his bare chest move as he turns to face you.
“He’s real cute though.”
“Are you not tired?” The early morning light peeks through your window, the sun isn’t even out yet and you can’t imagine anyone that is appreciative of being woken up so early.
“Naw, no’ really. ‘M used to it.”
It feels weird, good weird, to have him in your bed like that. Barely a week since you met, and he feels so close, more like a friend than a one-night stand, more than a friends-with-benefits. He checks the time on his phone before speaking again.
“Ye want breakfast?” Your eyes are closed again, hugging Gus close to your chest, hand moving up and down his fur but not doing much to pet him. His call of your name is answered by a groan, it makes him chuckle. He scoots closer to you, you can feel his arm coming up for Gus to sniff and the cat readjusts himself so his head is closer to Johnny’s. “Hi”.
Oh but the warmth dissipating from his body is to much, that and the soft noise of Gus’ purr drives you to fall asleep again. You only half dream, a mixture of images that won’t make any sense once you’re awake again, which happens rather soon as the bed adjusts and you feel a hand run through your hair.
“Can I make tea?” His voice sounds softer than earlier, you nod, opening your eyes just a smidge to look up at him.
“Biscuits in the cupboard…”That’s as much as you can muster now. “Wake me up when it's done?”
“Course.”
He left with Gus following behind, but you can’t seem to fall asleep again. That was…rather intimate. Your stomach feels hot and your chest tighter. Shooting your eyes open you’re quick to grab your phone again, Farah replied an hour ago.
“Wooo! Good for you”
“You’re gonna have to tell me everything about it btw”
“Farah”
“How pathetic is it to have a crush on your one night stand?”
Oh you don’t like that, calling him a one night stand, feels too impersonal, rude almost.
You’re getting out of bed, into your restroom and to the kitchen.
“Good morning” He leans against the kitchen counter where your meds are,he’s looking at his phone waiting for the kettle to boil, clad in his boxers from last night, hair a mess and body soft under the morning light. Even though it’s the same body it feels so different from last night, scars, bigger and small, litter his body, it’s muscular and soft at the same time, big pecs a tad too inviting and a tattoo on his forearm. Reaching for the pills would mean standing next to him, probably brushing against—no, touching him, and that makes you nervous. Oh. You’re embarrassingly down bad.
He stayed the entire weekend, Friday through Sunday. Next week it was picnic and football. You’re convinced any major team would be jealous of your 1-person teams and 5 meter field. He’s good, but you’re full of fear as he chases you for the ball, it’s the predator-prey kinda adrenaline that makes you score.
“Yes!”
“Offside! Offside!”
“What do you mean offside? There’s no one I can pass the ball to!” In fact, there’s not even a goal. You grab the ball and go back to him, looking straight into his eyes in fake defiance.
“Talking back to the referee? That’s a red card.” He looks so handsome like this, standing tall and unmovable, even if only joking, and you let him know via a quick kiss to his lips. He’s pulling you back to his lips not even half a second after, deep and slow, giggly. “Bribin’ me, huh?” You let out a soft, happy, sigh and kiss him again.
“Wanna go home?”
You tell Farah everything over a cup of tea and a piece of cake, of course. And she laughs at you, not in a mean way at all, only friendly and amused, still you hit her arm.
And the following week it’s film night. This one’s more spontaneous than the others, it’s been a tough week at work, you want a quiet evening and some company so you ask him if he wants to come hang out, he replies saying that he’ll be there in 30.
It’s the two of you, your favourite take out, Gus-Gus sitting on the back of the sofa and Fargo on the TV. He’s not paying as much attention to the film as he is to you.
“What?” You say, turning to look at him.
“Ye’r a beauty.” You smile shyly and kick him on the leg with your foot slightly. “A’m serious. I like you a lot.” A big smile grows on your face, and it’s enough confirmation for him to know you feel the same.
Or at least he thought so. There are no plans for this weekend, not for lack of trying, that is, Soap’s been trying to text you all week, it’s a big shift from your daily texting. He misses the little life updates you send him. Tuesday, he thought you might just be busy. Wednesday he stops trying to contact you, did he do something wrong? Went too fast? Are you ghosting him? What did he do that was worth the silent treatment? Thursday, he tries calling you, multiple times. Friday all rational thoughts have left his brain, did something happen to you? Are you okay? Christ, what if you’re dead? He texts Farah, swallowing his embarrassment.
“She’s okay, I think.”
“Going through a bit of a depression episode at the moment.”
“She’s going recluse, I know she wouldn’t mind a bit of help.”
“I have a spare key to her flat if you want to come get it.”
The string of texts floats around his mind, spare key in hand in front of your front door. He’s been inside before, but he was invited in, this feels invasive, but Farah trusted him, and she knew you best. He sent you a message before showing up, the last bit of chivalry he can offer before showing up in your home, it went through, and he hoped you read it even if you didn’t reply.
He calls your name upon entering, no response. Gus comes running up to him to headbutt his legs and meow, a quick look lets him know his water bowl is clean and automatic feeder full, that’s a good sign. His voice trembles as he calls for you again.
“You know where she is?” Great, now he’s speaking to the cat, and he meows in response, great, an actual conversation with a cat. Gus takes off and squeezes himself into a room with the door ajar, your bedroom. He knocks before entering, not expecting a response. The room is dark except for the light coming from your laptop, empty and half-full glasses taking up most of the space on your desk, chair full of unfolded clothes and a doughnut of blankets on the bed.
“Go away.” The doughnut speaks. His heart breaks at the sad, much softer than usual tone of your voice.
“Love.” The pet name slips from his lips, he notices but doesn’t attempt to correct himself. He walks closer until he’s sitting next to you. “Can I help you?”
You shake your head no, or what’s visible of it. “Go away, I stink.” He chuckles.
“That’s fine, smell better than the lads in base.” It’s a pathetic attempt at humour, you still shake your head no.
“You don’t have to do anything.” You don’t sound sad or angry like he thought you might, it’s emotionless, almost like an automatic generated response.
“But I want to. Want tae tak’ care o ye” He wants to make everything better, wants to fix everything, wants you happy and energetic and smiling. It’s silly how much he cares for you after barely a month of knowing eachother, scary now that he’s admitting it out loud. He pulls down the blankets for a full view of your face, his hand goes to your hair, it’s tangled, he’s careful not to pull on it. “Am gunna run you a bath.” It’s not a question, you laugh slightly and he smiles, realising what he said. “Didny mean it like that, c’mon.”
He helps you up from the bed and into the restroom. From your seat ion the toilet, you observe the way he turns on the tap and rummages through your cabinet, trying to find something to put in the water, you assume. “The orange bar in the back.” He halts, looks for a second and comes up with it, he leaves it on the sink while he turns off the water, you grab the bar and crumble a bit of it into the tub. He looks at you and gets up, you take it as your cue to undress and get in. Johnny comes back with a change of pyjamas and underwear and leaves again. You can hear him moving around and making noise, talking to the cat in occasion, while you clean yourself, when he comes back it’s to put your dirty laundry in the hamper. You don’t know why that’s the thing that makes you break and start crying. As soon as he notices, he’s on his knees next to you, softly caressing your cheeks and moving your damp hair away from your face.
“Whit’s wrong?”
“I don’t want you to do this.” Is no reply to his question. “I don’t want you to have to do this.”
“M’eudail.” He starts. “It’s okay.”
“No it’s not!” You look up at him” I’m so sad all the fucking time and I don’t want you to have to deal with that, it’s not fair to you, you know? I don’t want you to have to take care of me or put up with me.”
“But what if I want to? Wanna take care of you, wanna put up with you.” You shake your head no, looking back down.
“Johnny, I’m so much. I get so clingy and stupid.”
“That’s fine by me.” There’s no deterring him. He lifts your head up by your chin to kiss your forehead, bright blue eyes staring at you.
And you realise how ridiculous this is. You’re crying in the bathtub, your friend-situationship is on his knees next to you, again, crying in the bathtub. You let out a sigh and nod.
“Okay.”

Genderbent!Loud Siblings x Reader
Linka groans from the sight of her paper. Her test was marked with an F. She rests her head on the desk, defeated. “I don't get it, Claudia. Usually, I'm a good student but lately it's been all C's and D's and now an F.”
Claudia grabbed Linka’s test paper and grimaced at it. “Ugh, and a frowny face too. Girl, I cannot.” Claudia’s reply made Linka groan even more, disturbing others around them. “If I don't turn this around, I could fail fifth grade!”
“Linka, you can't! If I go to middle school without you, I could fall in with the wrong social group, and get frosted lips, and start being into bubble nails." Claudia shivered.
Linka just stared at her best friend blankly almost lost hope but she remembered she knew someone who could get her to tutor.
That is… no other than Levi!
“No.” Levi refused while staring blankly at his sister. The two siblings are at home. Linka approached her brother the first thing after she came home from school.
“But, Levi!” Linka whined, Levi is the only one who could help her right now as he is the prodigy intellectually among her brothers. With no way out, she tried to do puppy dog eyes at him to try and persuade her younger brother to give in and help her.
“Cute, but you really thought that would work on me? Sorry, Link. Unfortunately I am completely booked. I got math with Lars on Mondays, geology with Lynn on Tuesdays, finger painting with Leon on Wednesdays, et cetera et cetera." He showed Linka his schedule for the rest of the month which made the girl sigh.
“Oh, since you did the puppy eye thing, I’ll give you an advice. I've heard through the tutoring grapevine that some high school students tutor for extra credit.” With that, Levi turned to walk away from Linka.
“Hey, you said the puppy eye thing didn’t work!”
“Oh, pish-posh.” Levi grinned and left. At a distance, he could be heard yelling at Loni about being tardy with the Pre-Cal tutoring session.
Your phone dinged as someone sent you a message about being interested of booking you as a tutor. Finally, the time has come! You’ve been growing anxious about being a tutor. Although this isn’t the first time teaching another student, it’s still nerve-wracking since it’s a stranger this time.
It really wasn’t your idea to offer tutoring sessions but your friend suggested that it might be a good idea to build an image for college applications in the future.
You opened the message and found that you would be tutoring a fifth grader since she’s bound to flunk if she continues to fail the remedial. Your body relaxed a little knowing the lessons would be a bit easier to teach and nothing could go wrong.
You ringed the door bell to what you assumed the Loud Residence as this was the address the tutee gave you. Within a minute, a young girl with striking white hair opened the door for you and gave you a welcoming smile. “Hello, is this the Loud Residence?” you gave her your professional smile you practiced prior.
Her eyes glimmered and gave you an affirming nod. “Yep! You must be my tutor. I am Linka.”
After introducing yourself, she led you to their dining table and set up her textbooks. “I really appreciate this, (Y/n). I have a big multi-subject test coming up, and I need to ace it.”
You smiled at her, “I’m sure you’ll be able to ace it, but after thorough assessments from our sessions of course. So, I’ll do my best to help you.”
“And I thought that angels only exist in heaven.” Linka dramatically says while clenching her fist on top of her chest. You only laughed at her.
“So, I'm like, if you literally don't know the difference between rugby and football— Oh, Linka brought a new girl friend around.” A male voice spoke which caught both of your attention. His tone was a bit playful.
“Loki, get out! Can’t you see we’re studying here?” Linka hissed but the boy never faltered. “Oh really? This is our kitchen, Link. I can do whatever I want.” You turned to look at him as you can feel his presence between you and Linka. He ruffled Linka’s hair, satisfied at annoying his sister.
Must be a family of blondes. Loki has a common blonde hair compared to Linka. He also has a light stubble that complimented that growing smirk of his. He suddenly turned his head and made eye contact with you. “Don’t ogle too much, it’ll be harder to concentrate.” He grinned at you, but instead of being flustered, his comment only irked you.
“Wipe that smirk off your face before I do it for you.” You undoubtedly replied not thinking it through. You only came to your senses when it suddenly became quiet and Loki looked at you dumbfounded. Your cheeks became flushed and felt embarrassed. What were you doing in your first day of tutoring?!
You hanged your head low, mentally facepalming yourself. You’re sure Loki caught on about your reply. “Yeah, right! Give him an uppercut!” Linka instigated.
Yeah… an uppercut…
While looking down, you saw that Loki dropped his phone and handed it to him. “Loki, you dropped your phone.” However, when you looked up, you’re sure that his cheeks were tinted pink or maybe your eyes were just playing with you.
His silence broke Linka from her uppercut suggestions. “Loki, are you okay?”
Loki rubs the nape of his neck and trying to build “I uh… I am… I’m fi—“
“I heard a goose! I call dibs!" A young blonde came into view holding a net, however upon seeing you, he was a bit confused. “What’s a pretty stranger doing in this house?!”
“A what?” Another boy came into the kitchen. He’s wearing a clay mask and has cucumber slices in his eyes. He removes the slices and made eye contact with you. “AAH! MY FACE!”
Yep, a family of blondes. Your claim was disproven immediately when the rest of the siblings came into the kitchen probably curious about the commotion.
Ah… there are lots of them.
All of them started talking at the same time. Unfortunately, you can’t comprehend any of this as their voices became inaudible. You just stared at them amused of how this family caters a lot of siblings.
The one who cleansed his on-going skincare came back and greeted you. “Hey, guys. Oh, Linka, I didn't know you were entertaining. Hi. I'm Loni.” Is this guy for real? He acted as if he wasn't here minutes ago. You can’t help but let out a laugh about his silliness which caught the siblings’ attention.
You became self-conscious when they all stared at you. Their stares made you a bit shy. “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m Linka’s tutor, (Y/n). It’s nice to meet you all.” You nervously laugh.
“Ugh, could all of you please get out? We’re trying to study!” Linka snapped at them but the sibling with a crown pushed a chair between Linka and I, and sat, "It's a free country, Linka. We can go where we want to."
"I'm standing here!" The boy with the net stood next to you while smiling ear to ear. You're now trapped between these cuties. They resemble each other, must be twins.
"The heck you are!" The princely twin retorted, but before any punches were thrown you immediately disputed it. "Boys, I know you're interested in joining Linka and I, but she can't concentrate if eyes are observing her." You grabbed something from your purse
"And mouths yapping" Linka raised an eyebrow at his brothers.
"Yes- wait-, what I mean is she can't focus if there are distractions." You grabbed something from your purse. "Here, I'll give these to you since I'm hoping you'll behave accordingly." You handed each twin a lollipop and gave them a wink.
Their smiles grew wide and immediately shoved it in their mouths. "Roger that!" They saluted and walked away with puffed chests. You turned to the remaining brothers. "We'll just occupy the space for a couple of hours, if you don't mind."
"No problem, Love." A brunette with a faux hawk leaned his arm on your chair gave you a boyish smile. "You can be here anytime of the day. You can even join me on my rock sessions upstair-- Ow! Lane!" On instinct, you leaned your head away when a brunette with braces karate chopped his head. "No, you're not, you just want both of your strings to get attached. Haha! Get it? Strings!"
"Come on, (Y/n)! Let's go somewhere a little less crowded." Linka dragged you away from her swarming brothers. She's clearly annoyed with her brows furrowed.
She led the both of you to the living room and settled on the couch. When she was opening the textbooks, voices were heard outside the house. "The one who catches Geo wins!" The younger brothers were playing in competition with each other, and Linka could see that they were showing off to impress her tutor.
"What are they doing?! They're literally disturbing you. I'm sorry, (Y/n)." Loki sat next to you on the couch and started typing on his phone. His presence made you a bit shy, being this close made you notice his arms' lean muscles, and his full eyebrows. You instantly looked away as he might caught on that you were staring. "Ooh, Linka, you have so many books. What's the story about?" You were caught off guard by a voice coming from behind you. When you turned your head, you saw Loni peeking his head behind the couch. He emits a clean and sweet scent, and he also looks neat.
"I think it'll be better if we went to my room instead." Linka gathered her books and gave the stink eye to her older brothers while escorting you to her room. They only responded with a smirk. Living with ten brothers her whole life, Linka knew what her brothers' antics are all about. They can't even hide that their expressions are living subtitles of their intensions.
After entering upstairs, you saw a brother with an eyeglass interrupting Linka for dragging you to her room, “I need to borrow (Y/n) for a second. I'm tutoring Lexx.” She only gave him a questioning look. You look your tutee with worry, but maybe it wouldn’t hurt to help a little.
“Okay, but I can’t stay for more than 5 minutes. I’ll just explain an specific topic they’re having a hard time with.” Levi stared at you with a creepy smile and made a creepy giggle to go along with it.
“This is called a gluteus maximus, otherwise known as the butt.” Levi pointed his pointing stick at the side of your ass cheek. "Wait, what?!" You jerked away from Levi face flushed from embarrassment. You held your hands up to the level of your bust and backed away. "I'm so sorry, I know it's educational but I think I'm not the the best model-- Oof!" Your back bumped into someone's torso. Before you could apologize you were interrupted, "Don't worry about it, (Y/n). These boys are just getting cheeky." Lane came in and pinched both Levi and Lexx's ears which earned a yelp from each sibling. "Wait, I just made a pun! Get it? Cheeky?" Lane laughed to himself.
"All right, all right, CLASS DISMISSED!" Linka grabs your arm and dragged you away from the scene.
"I'm sorry about that, (Y/n)." Linka opened her door and got scared when a goth kid started talking "I wrote a poem about you. (Y/n). Pretty face. Mysterious eyes. Pretty cool for a living girl. (Y/n)."
"Everybody out!" Lexx screamed at Linka's door. "It's time for The Knight, The Princess and The Dragon. You're the Princess, (Y/n). You don't have to do anything your beauty is enough." Lexx giggled. "Lexx, what did we agree on earlier?" You raised a questioning eyebrow at him. "Oopsies." Lexx nervously laughed and bowed before leaving Linka's room.
"Finally, we can get down to business." Linka rejoiced and set her books on bed. "I'm so sorry about my brothers, (Y/n)."
"I'm sorry too, Linka. I should've been more stern with your brothers because tutoring you is my priority." You apologized too. "It's okay, you just met us. I'm sure you just wanted to help." Linka is so cute and can't help but hug her at being understanding. You girls laughed and continued studying.
Hours later, Linka completed the assessments you provided for her. Surprisingly, she got good marks. "Linka, you're spot-on in all of your lessons. Even surrealist art." Linka looked at her assessment scores in confusion, "It's weird. I thought I needed so much help."
"May I ask what happened the day you failed your test?"
"Well, Mr. DiMartino became the substitute for the day--" "Wait Mr. DiMartino? The hunk teacher in elementary?" You laughed at Linka but she only gave you a questioning look. "Girl, no wonder why you're getting distracted and failing your test. Mr. DiMartino is so hot that girls ogle at him and lost their focus."
"Oh my god, you are so right." Linka must've went through a flashback while you're yapping about Mr. DiMartino "I almost failed too because of him. A piece of advice, try not to look too much and you won't worry about failing fifth grade." You winked at Linka and patted her back.
You arranged your things and Linka escorted you downstairs. "It's all in your head, Link. There's no reason you shouldn't be getting top marks on your exam. Well, I guess you won't be needing me anymore." You gave her a hug.
You could hear the whining from the younger brothers about you leaving while the older ones frowned. "Thanks for having me guys!"
Linka tapped your arm just before you left the door. "Can we still hang out after this?" She looked at you with that puppy dog eyes. you only grinned aat her, "You really thought that's gonna work on me? I am a professionally at that, but since you tried, we can 'literally' hang out." You peeked behind Linka and see the guys smile a little.
I guess these dudes needed a playmate.

Kitchen Kisses
Yet another 10th doctor x reader. Am I ashamed? Yes. Will I stop obsessing over this man any time soon? Absolutely not. Requests are open. Sorry if this is short, I wrote it in a hurry. Reader is gn and as always this is also on my Ao3. Idk if I should start making a masterlist. Enjoy!!
Tumblr media
Cooking wasn't easy for you.
Every time you even came remotely close to a stove, it seemed ready to explode. Even so, you could manage on your own most times. You could warm up milk and boil pasta with (almost) no problems. Plus, you could always count on delivery.
You couldn't count on someone to deliver you a pizza, however, on a spaceship like the TARDIS. You also couldn't count on your culinary skills anymore, because you ended up being continuously distracted by the Doctor. He had the tendency to often look over your shoulder and suddenly ask if whatever you'd been cooking was ready, or if you needed anything, or if that fire in the corner was normal (it never was).
Nevertheless, you never gave up. Alien food couldn't always be healthy for you, you thought, referring to all the snacks the Doctor got for you in your travels; plus, you really wanted to impress him. "One of these days you're going to crawl to me begging for a recipe", you jokingly bragged, making him smirk; "yeah, sure, one of these days", he replied sarcastically, getting your cheeks all red.
It had been a rough day, full of adventures and trouble, and you had been left with a headache and too little to keep your hands busy with. You'd decided to scurry over to the kitchen to attempt (and probably fail) at making an omelette. You played some music on your cellphone and got to work.
Step one: crack the egg. Done. Step two: heat the pan. Also done. Step three: add the oil. You almost burned yourself, but nevertheless you got it done.
You looked around before going onto step four. It was odd. The Doctor wasn't around to distract you, the music was relaxing, nothing was on fire. It almost seemed impossible. Nonetheless, it wasn't over yet.
Step four: add the egg. You poured the liquid into the fizzing oil very carefully. Success! In your head you cheered, a smile making its way onto your lips.
Suddenly, you felt yourself being hugged, and audibly gasped. Realizing it was only the Doctor (who else but him smelled like candle wax and argan oil?) you sighed, relieved. "You scared me."
"Sorry. Whatcha making?" he asked, peeking at what was cooking in the pan. "Egg?"
"Yeah. I'm making an omelette. Wanna share?"
"If it survives the process," he laughed. You giggled with him. "What's that music?"
"Just my playlist. It was supposed to help me stay focused."
"Why are you using the past tense?"
"Because now you're here to distract me, aren't you?"
The Doctor smiled. "Not at all!" he chuckled. "Why do you think that?"
You raised an eyebrow. "Because you always distract me."
"You mean you can't focus when I'm around?"
"Yes." You realized what it sounded like as soon as the Time Lord stared at you with his satisfied smirk plastered onto his face. "Wait. No. No, I didn't mean that. Stop looking at me like that."
"Like what?"
"Like I said exactly what you wanted to hear."
"Well, maybe you did say exactly what I wanted to hear."
There was silence for a couple seconds. His arms were still around you. He was so warm.
His lips were also warm. They made their way over to yours, erasing every inch of space left between the two of you. Your breaths slowed down. Time didn't stop, it went on and on and on, and the seconds you shared with your bodies pressed together like that didn't feel like years to you, but maybe to the Time Lord they did. You were broken apart by the sound of the oil fizzing a little too loud. With his arms still around your waist, the Doctor turned off the stove.
"Better get back to your cooking", he whispered, testing the waters.
You smiled. "Why would I do that now? I'm busy."
"Busy?"
"Indeed. Very busy kissing your stupid face until you say sorry for startling me earlier."
The Doctor gave you one of his best smiles. "Well, then, let's get down to business. But I'm not saying sorry if that means you'll stop kissing me. You know that, right?"
"You dumbo. C'mere", you murmured, kissing him again.

Summary: EDDIE X PENCILS RIDE AGAIN - listen I’ve been thinking about this ask for two days and I thought what if- what if everyone else loves pencils so much and rudely robs Eddie of her time and the fallout of the kids being all steal ya girl- poor Eddie-
“I swear man, I’m about to start plastering her poster on telephone poles and milk cartons. It’s getting pretty freakin’ dire over here.” Eddie speaks as he presides over the squares of the board splayed before him.
Friday night. Doused under the blooming tulip bulbs of the Hellfire club room. Shadows spot the room where the dramatic lights can’t scrape. Swimming sea blue and fiery Sahara amber.
The candles are lit. Jerky flames flicker their licks of light. Stage set. Atmosphere geared up for the adventure and the conflict that may come. The dice are gathered. Board awaits. Poised for another one of Eddie’s imaginative campaigns.
Some would say sadistic- he would say mildly warped at best.
Folks were still strolling in from end of class. Numbers not assembled to full platoon yet.
Gareth, Jeff, Sinclair, and Matt are the first ones to rock up. Still waiting on his other tardy freshmen. They sit at the table. Drink sodas. Scarf down the snacks Gareth bought cause it was his turn. Cheetos, red vines, pretzels, and Reece’s pieces.
Eddie chucks himself back in his throne. Sits with his heels popped on the table edge. They sit and slowly kill time. He listens to them munch chips loudly, bicker over dumb shit, and somehow, the conversation had turned its attentions onto you-
His pencils. His maiden. The Art to his Garfunkel. Only much, much, hotter.
Gareth chucks Eddie a Reece’s cup. He catches it one handed - but there’s no celebratory fist pump. No jerking smile. He doesn’t scoff it down in three seconds like his usual bottomless-pit style when it came to candy.
He’s subdued. Something irks at him. Like a thread he can’t find the end of. He taps the edge of the table.
“So you haven’t seen your girl in a while then huh?” Jeff asks in reply to Eddie’s statement about milk cartons. A sloped smile on, as he snaps open a Pepsi can.
“Nada.” Eddie answered. “It’s really starting to grind my gears.”
You ate lunch at their table some days. Were welcome to, in fact. Sought after. Your absence is noted on the days you don’t, with curiosity and longing.
You caught a ride with Eddie to school. Mixing with them with no hint of awkwardness, and arguing about which was better, Sabbath or Motörhead.
I’m sorry but Motörhead rules in my book. Have you heard Lemmy play? Like c’mon open those ears kiddos. You know Ozzy wanted originally wanted to call ‘Iron Man?’ Metal bloke. C’mon.
As Eddie walked into school with his arm slung around your shoulders. You were still arguing with Jeff about it. He couldn’t get a word in. Once you start arguing about music you cannot be placated.
Alright, alright then can we at least agree that Twisted Sister is better than Bowie, Jeff tried in vain to argue.
You turn to your boyfriend. Clutching your pearls. Choking on the crazy statement.
Edward the children are delusional. What have you been feeding them? LSD?
He cackled all the way to class.
You got in on their jokes. Poked fun with them at the jocks. Correct their English homework when they get spelling mistakes, cause you happened to walk that class last year and got an A+.
Dustin honey, you spelt transcendence wrong. As you rubbed out his mistake with him with the end of your pencil eraser and filled it in. Told him to put his argument in the first paragraph to give it more punch up top. Science he got, lit essays were hard.
Your girlfriend is a freakin genius, man.
You think I don’t know that? C’mon you think I couldn’t pull the brainiest, hottest chick around? Please? I’m beating off chicks with a stick over here. Comes that devil Munson grin.
You patted his chest. Do I need to put a tongue depressor in your mouth? Are you getting hallucinations again?
C’mon pencils that was one time after a bad trip.
You’re slowly growing into familiarity in the social circles Eddie turns in.
Not like you could be apart for long. You two were inseparable and grossly in love. The making out was frankly, sickening, in its duration, frequency, and volume. Like something strummed right out a carpenter song. Heart throbbing teen love. And oh, it’s clutches were fierce.
That was, when he could lay eyes and hands on you. Which hadn’t happened now for four hellish, crawling days. Time is being waded through treacle for him.
It’s making Eddie fucking itch.
“Maybe I should file a police report.” He jokes. But in all seriousness, it’s actually crossed his funky little mind.
“I think I saw her earlier. She was out in the lot helping that Mayfield kid. Putting stickers on her skateboard or something.” Gareth told him.
“Not you too, red.” Eddie sighs muzzily as he crashes his head back to his seat in despair. Arms flailing out. Pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Does everyone in this school get a bigger slice of her than I do? Oh you know. I’m only her boyfriend for fucks sake.” He whines.
“She is pretty cool though.” Matt piped up. “Even by our admittedly limited standards.”
Eddie side shoots him a acid glare that says ‘yeah, no shit.’
“She busy with schoolwork or what?” Sinclair asks.
Eddie flails his hands. A mock attempt at trying to assuage his lovesick heart.
“I guess. I mean she does looovvve to stick her head in the books that one. Or she’s always sketching away. I know she had a history paper at the start of the week she had to stay home and work on but seriously, I’m dying of vicious neglect over here.” He makes a clawed hand over his heart like it’s gonna slowly squeeze to a stop.
“Yeah, it’s like we’ve gone what? Three lunch times now without seeing you guys noisily attached to each other’s faces.” Sinclair the elder, chuckles.
Eddie lobs a Reece’s piece at his head. “Ow. Hey?”
“That was called for. You know it. Pain is a part of life.” Eddie frowns at him.
“You’re just snippy cause you haven’t sucked face in so long.” Sinclair pointed out.
“I wonder if she remembers what I look like.” Eddie dreamt dazed. Staring at the ceiling so wistfully. Always so dramatic.
“It’s Friday night. I’m sure she’ll be free.” Jeff tries to play the kind and hopeful card.
“She better. Or else I’m not joking about that milk carton idea.” He wags an over accessorised finger in warning.
“Yeah, yeah.” Gareth placates as he chews on a red vine.
The bang of the doors has Eddie’s eyes slamming across. Ready to beat seven shades of shit out the tardy pair. Hellfires club rules were absolute: Eddie was known to take his rules seriously. To the death.
Henderson and Wheeler come careening through the doors. Wary of the lateness of the hour. Incurring the Munson wrath.
“Hey, don’t mind us.” Dustin says as they throw themselves into their usual seats and grab their things.
“Sorry we’re late. Got- held up.” Wheeler explained as he rooted elbow deep in his bag.
“Oo red vines. Gimme.” Dustin screeches. Mike snatches for the Cheetos packet.
“It’s ok man. We were just talking about Eddie and how he hasn’t seen pencils in like, forever. It’s driving him nuts.”
Silence. Thick as soup. You could sip it.
Eddie drags his eyes up and catches the way Wheeler flicks his eyes across to Henderson. Who has suddenly clammed right the hell up. Sat there holding a red vine.
Henderson usually trilled on and on like tweetie pie. Something was definitely up. All was not right in whosville. Boy better not bother with poker. Not with a giveaway face like that.
Those whiskey dark Munson eyes never missed a thing. Dagger tips that scratch into his two young opponents.
Henderson knows they’re being scrutinised. The way that crazy mane of Eddie’s flicks where he tilts his head at the two of them.
He braces his arms suddenly on the throne and sits up to crouch on his heels. Dustin and Mike actually flinch.
Their terrifying rabid DM coming level like a metal perching gargoyle. Really, Hellfire wasn’t Hellfire without Eddie scrambling around or climbing on shit.
“Something to say there, gentlemen?” He pressed. Sawtoothed edge to his voice that grates. Cuts skin. He claps his hands together.
“No. No. Nothing man.” Henderson spits out. His knuckles are white on the edge of the table.
At the same time of Wheeler’s “Nothing. Nothing at all.”
They’re prickling with sweat along the hairline. Hands fidgeting with their back pack straps. Plus, the inevitable fact that Eddie’s dark-cold stares are among the most intense things ever known to man. Arctic frostbite skimmed off a razor cold ocean could cut less.
Through narrowed whiskey eyes. “Have a seat.” He bit out each word.
Dustin tried to make small talk as he unzipped his bag. Got his character sheets. Very loudly excited over the prospect of snacks. Loved everything. Everyone looks good tonight. Everyone’s good. Good, man. Cool.
Wheeler just kept his mouth shut. Eddies eyes burned holes in the both of them like bleach.
“Why so late.” Eddie asks punchily. Creeping accusation hangs heavy on his tone.
“Uhhhhh. We-“
“We, why are we uh, late? Mike do you- recall.”
Eddies white knuckles crack together. His teeth will soon be dust.
“We… ran into Mr Clark. He started chatting about- science and, shit. You know, other stuff.” Mike got out.
Eddies bullshit-o-meter was creeping into the red. Hazards flashing. Alarm bells wailing. The rest of the guys at the table are side eyeing each other with drawn back smiles. Biting lips to stem laughter.
“Name the stuff.” He grins. So wide. Too wide. Scary wide. Calling the bluff.
Mike gulps. Dustin’s mouth gaped and no words came out.
“Man-I-think--I-think-we-should-just-tell-him.” Dustin whispers out the side of his mouth. Turning to Wheeler who was crumbling under the famous Munson poison stroked gaze.
“I feel like a rat.” Wheeler explains.
“Funny. Cause In about five seconds I’m gonna feed you to an entire army of rabid rats unless you spill, and tell me what the shit is going on.”
“We, have an advanced calculus test on Monday.” Dustin piped up.
“And?” Eddie urged snappy.
“And, uh, we needed some help and luckily, you know this really awesome someone, very selflessly offered us some assistance in furthering our education. Which is really nice of them, when-when you think about it” Dustin yammered.
Eddie nodded. Sucking in a deep breath. Eyes darting back and forth on them.
“This someone-“ He started.
“Man I told you he’d be wicked pissed.” Wheeler snuck out the side of his mouth at Henderson.
“Shut-the-hell-up. It was your idea.” Dustin hissed between clenched teeth.
“Describe them to me.” Eddie waved his hand in a curling motion.
“Who?”
“This selfless being who helped you. Describe them.” Eddie’s eyes threaded with steel.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
They blink owlishly at him. Mouths slack like guppy fish.
“Medium height. Hair. Uh, Eyes.”
“Do they also have feet and teeth, cause that’s not narrowing down any of the general populous for me.” He bitches at them.
“Studies art. Likes all kinds of cool music. Works in the record store. Loves Billy Idol. Bout yay big-“ Wheeler explains. Holding his hand up to roughly your height.
“You probably… know who we’re talking about… now.” Dustin summed up with a closed fist nervously waving in the air. Smoothing his clammy hands down to the table top.
Eddie slumps back to his chair. Rubs his fingers into his temples. A storm of pins starting to thunder at the roof of his skull. Like top pitch Slayer shredding screams in his ears. It’s deafening. Pins and needles plucking in his brain.
“Let me get this straight-“ He announced with the usual Dungeon Master fanfare from his ornate throne. Voice booming in the quiet of the echoing room.
He crosses his arms. Rattle of his chain bracelet. Clack of those rings as he swirls a finger in the air trying to pluck at the right words.
“I couldn’t lay eyes on my own girlfriend for the entirety of my week. I don’t see her at lunch. Or after school. Not a peep. I look everywhere for her today. And I mean everywhere man, and now you’re sitting there, telling me, she was helping you pipsqueaks, finish your calculus paper?”
He leans forwards and stabs his finger into the tabletop. The whole thing quakes. Storm Munson hitting hard. Expect casualties.
Wheeler looks at his shoes. Dustin nods nervously.
“That’s hmm, about uh right. Yeah-“
“You are skating thin thin ice my friends.” Eddie warns.
“Whilst we’re on the subject, I suppose I should mention, I uh, did invite her over to watch band practice tomorrow night. She said she’d bring cookies.” Gareth revealed.
“Awhh neat score man. What kind?” Matt asks.
“White chocolate and raspberry.” He grinned.
“Oh my god.” Jeff giggles in glee. Fist pumping.
Eddies fit to tear his hair out.
Wondering how long he would have to spend in prison for the completely spontaneous and cold-blooded murder of his entire DnD club.
He wonders if he could make it worth it. Or to the border-
“I can’t believe I have to share my girlfriend with all of Hawkins and now I have to try and compete with you morons? Unbelievable.” He mumbled to himself.
“Are we gonna start this campaign or what?” Gareth asks. “As you say, we don’t come here to chit-chat. We’re here to play.” He pushes his hand on the table before him in emphasis.
“You’re lucky I don’t banish you.” Eddie snaps. Eyes crazed.
“Banish me? Wait. Like in real life. Or the game?”
Eddie stares at him for a second too long. Raps knuckles on the table.
“Haven’t decided yet.”
Gareth shrinks in his seat.
“C’mon man take it easy. Nothing wrong with everyone liking her. Surely that’s a compliment right?” Jeff tries to argue.
“Oh yeah. I’m feeling the benefits right here. Hey, if I need any help scheduling a date with my girlfriend anytime soon I’ll just ask one of you bozo’s. She free tonight, how about next Thursday?” He jokes around. All jocular and pissy.
“Nah man, she said she was going home tonight to-“ Dustin began but tapered off when Eddie shot his famous ‘really’ look. Deadly.
“…study for chem lab.” He finished slowly. “But she said to say she’d call you…. After… Hellfire.”
Eddies committing war crimes in his head. Truly.
“I detest you all so much. Let’s start please, before I-“ He clenches his hands and cracks his knuckles. Takes a deep breath.
“So, we start in the wild plains of-“ Eddie explains. Voice slipping into hushed storytelling mode.
“Hey, does she play DND?” Gareth interrupts, with something that definitely looks similar to flirtatious. Big big smirk.
Eddie glares. It’s steeped in all kinds of poison.
He reaches across and flicks over Gareth’s figurine. It clatters to the floor.
“Oops. Look at that. Bad storm.“
~
The sun dips low over the low slanted street of houses as you walk up the smooth tarmac of Gareth’s drive towards the Garage. The Fall night pricks unkind at your back and churns your breath silver.
Through the trees on the horizon the sky is stroked into layered slices of punchy lilac and petal pink. Black trees loom thick from the woods like prickly pine sentinels.
You’re lugging a tugging heavy bag crooked on one arm, and a whole plate of cookies in the other. Rocky road and raspberry and white chocolate. Teenage boys ate like a ravenous pack of wolves half starved.
You smile as you come to the muffled metal wall of sound thrashing it’s rhythm the other side of that garage. The crash of drums. The bass. The cry of that warlock you recognise so well.
Hands not free, you rap awkwardly on the clanging door with your elbow. You ick when your banging disturbs some rain drips that scatter off the overhang and drips chilly down your collar.
You gaze up as an eruption happens the other side of that door. You smile at hearing the music come crashing resoundingly to a clunky screech and stop. The pitchy whine of the amps and microphones.
Voices blare over the din. You hear the rush of footsteps. Sneakers scraping over the tarmac. You know exactly whose-
The garage door clunks up so fast with a fierce rattle. Rolling from the other side. Showing you in slow degrees, the red drum set. The mic stands. Rust square of carpet. The corroded coffin sign emblazoned proud on the wall.
Cords snaked everywhere. Boxy amps and all those metal posters Gareth tacked around the place. Half of them were from you. You bought him two more today from work that Sal let you snag.
You hear Eddie’s shrieky shouts rattle at the door. “Back off. Hey, hey hey hey, back off. My girlfriend, man. Mine.”
“Hey guys- uhfff“
A gut punch of a sudden attack crashes into you because your boyfriend ducks under the partially open door, and full body tackles you. Like the scurrying menace of a jangly golden retriever that he is. Beloved guitar slung right around his back. He toddles you backwards down the wet driveway.
You hold your arms out either side with the cookies in one, and your bag in the other as he limpets like lichen. He bends his knees and scoops you up off the floor. For a skinny guy he was freakishly strong when he had to be. Your sneaker toes scuff and drag the rain sheened tarmac.
Wiry leather arms enclosing you. But they’re strong too, clutching you to a firm warm chest draped in a black Zeppelin tee. His mouth at your neck. Apple smelling hair tangled in your mouth. Elbow hooked around your head.
You hum a smile. Cause it’s just entirely wrapping you up. Leather and bar soap. Red smoke smacking into you. Eddie. He’s burying you alive in one of his all encompassing hugs that you just burrow yourself into. Warm t shirt body surrounded by the outer colder layers of denim and leather.
You knock your head to rest into his. Whole body fluttering with the giddiness of being near again.
Eddies hooked his arm around your neck like he’s keeping you there, hostage.
Sweat damp bangs and burning off so much manic energy, and a smile splitting his lips. Waterfall spill of curls cupping that face. Making a frame out of those intense espresso dark eyes.
“Missed you.” He rumbles as he rubs his cheek on your hair. Delighting in the smell of you in his nose. Coconut and perfume. You, soft and real under his hands and you’re here- listening to the slow dub-dub of his heart as he holds you closer than was physically possible. If you were any closer you’d be on the other side of him.
“Never would have guessed-“ You smart at him. But you can’t crow too loud. Your stomach is cartwheeling. This boy has you so soft. It had been an interminably miserable week without him. Like being sat in the darkness for a week without your spots of golden sun.
“Missed you too, Munson.” You peck a kiss back on the side of his head. “You gonna put me down anytime soon?”
“Unlikely.” Is his answer. If anything he wraps around you tighter. Squeezes the stuffing out of you like a crushing boa. Like he could crush you up and snort you. Swallow you. Anything- still wouldn’t be close enough.
He does put you down. Mainly so he can cup your face and shove his lips onto yours. Warm hands on your cheeks tugging you to a messy kiss. He presses every ounce of yearning into it. Pours it into you via those pillowy lips.
“Gotta stop that annoying school habit. Y’know. It’s really getting in the way of my quality one-on-one pencils time.” He says with the tip of his nose brushing into yours. Stroking your hair back off your neck.
“Fine. It goes. Tomorrow.” You smirk back.
Tipping in so he can kiss you again. You smooch him all slow. He leans into it. Humming a moan that sends a reactive zing up your spine. You want to grab at his denim back and kiss him some more but your hands are annoyingly full. He sucks on your lower lip and scraped teeth, your breath skips.
“Please for the love of god, keep it PG.” Gareth calls out. Sat at his drums still. Twirling his sticks in hand as the band stands and watches Eddie kiss and kiss, and twirl you around in the cold stained twilight air. How it brushed you both in cloaking purple.
“We don’t need to see that.” Matt piped up. Looking down at his guitar.
“Man, you ruin all my fun.” Eddie grins back at his friends. Slinging his accessorised fingers into your belt loops. Reeling you inside.
“Can you take these before my arms freakin fall off?” You laugh to Eddie.
“For me? Shucks.” He takes the cookie plate off you. Of course he does.
“Don’t scarf them all down to yourself like last time.” Matt pleads.
“Or lick them all.” Jeff adds.
Eddie is already tearing the saran wrap off and shoving a rocky road cookie right into his mouth. The whole thing. Opens his mouth as he chews making his signature demon face. Charming.
Covering his shirt in a waterfall of dark chocolate crumbs. You kindly brush them off him as you step past.
“Sounded good guys. Another Judas Priest cover?” You ask as you come inside and dump your bag down by the ratty old couch off to the far side.
“We’ve almost got enough new covers for a set“
“Next gig at the hideout is in two weeks, right?” You asked. You recall Eddie telling you over the phone.
“Yup. And we wanna have a couple of new songs rehearsed by then.” Jeff says. Nervously trailing his hands over his guitar strap. Shuffling his feet on the squashy carpet.
“Nice one.” You comment. “Can’t go wrong with Judas Priest. Though you know in my opinion you should totally throw a little Blondie in there. Crowd pleaser.”
They all groan in unison.
“You always say that. Or Talking Heads. You’re unnaturally obsessed.”
“Debbie Harry is such a babe though, man.” Gareth sticks his tongue out.
“Really?” You ask as you stand and chew a cookie. “This coming from the boy who has the Kim Wilde poster up in his bedroom.”
“That’s not mine. It was my sisters.”
“Crawled it’s way into your room did it?” Eddie winked at you. Beaming. Leaning against the couch arm.
“I hate you guys.” Gareth decided.
You round back and confiscate the cookie plate off Eddie and hand them round. He snatches off what he can before they’re ripped away. Noisily sucking chocolate off his fingers.
The guys cluster around to get one. About time they stopped for a break and a snack anyhow. He’s all set to pout at you until:
“I also have a Six pack in my bag.”
Eddie’s smile whips back around tenfold. “God, you’re a babe.” He sticks his lips to your temple with a disgusting wet smooch. All lips and spit.
“Awh c’mon.” Gareth opened his arms wide. Disappointed at the lack of the beer being shared around.
“It’s band practice not a kegger.” You pointed out. “Besides I brought Pepsi and spent half an hour of my day making cookies for you guys. I’m not totally evil.”
That was met with a chorus of disgruntled mumbles and grunts.
“Evil pencils.” Eddie whirled in close and hissed naughtily in your ear. His breath on your neck made goosebumps break across your skin.
“I’m sorry. When did you all turn 21? I must have missed the party invites.” You smile at them with your arms crossed. Stroking your hand over Eddie’s arm, as you made sure they all got a cookie.
He made a ‘suck it’ face to his band mates as he cracked open a cold one.
“You’re 18 and Eddie’s 20.” Matt unhelpfully pointed out with a grin.
“Watch your mouth when you talk to your elders.” Eddie pasted his chest to your back as you handed the plate around. A ring clad hand flashes for another one. White chocolate and raspberry was his weakness after all.
“You can’t have all the cookies and a beer. Not fair man.”
“Pencils baked the cookies. Guys. Pencils is my girl. Which means that the cookies are mine too. SO, you only partake if I decide to let you, idiots.”
“So, if she’s hanging out here with us in band time, does that make her our groupie?” Gareth asks cleverly. Waving the cookie in his hand around, gesticulating.
Eddies hand reaches over and lightly flicks the curly hair near where the top of Gareth’s ear should be.
“Hey.” He winced and cupped the side of his head.
“Any more groupie talk and one of those drumsticks is going up your nose, man.” Eddie warns. Gareth did love sticking his neck out
“I’ve got two posters in my bag drummer boy, don’t make me take them back to Sal.” You threaten with a grin. Eddie is making devil eyes at him.
“What’s the score?” Eddie asked you. Hands linked around your waist. Just enjoying the way he could sway bodily into you. Chin nesting on your shoulder. Cold beer within reach. And his guitar. His perfect Saturday night was set. His two favourite chicks.
“Scorpions live tour 85’ and, a Sabbath poster from the 1980 tour Live at Last.”
“Comment rescinded, Mi’lady.” Gareth decides as you chucked him over the shiny rolls of paper.
“I’m keeping you geeks in posters and new tapes here. You should build a monument to me. Fifty feet tall.” You joke as you grab a beer.
You toss the nearly empty cookie plate down on the coffee table and fold your legs up to sit criss-cross on the old orange couch with its sagging cushions and patchwork blanket thrown over the zig-zag floral pattern.
Eddie tips his head back to look across at you. Slumps down the arm to crash next to you. “We will dance around it naked, light a fire, and beat our chests whilst howling at the moon.” He smirks with mischief skated eyes.
You crash your sloshing beer can to his. “There’s the devotion I so crave.” You admire him being close by - at last - brushing the salty sticky bangs off his head with your fingertips.
“The very least I could do. You keep these bozos happy. You keep me in beer and kisses and…” He lowers his voice and sneaks his head closer to your ear to whisper “other much dirtier things.”
You smile. Letting your head fall back to the couch cushions. Eddie’s full out and out beam catching yours. Laying his head down to this saggy couch. Slotted right next to yours.
Heaven really as a place on earth. He’s sat here gazing into your eyes like they’re a new fascinating form of glittery stars.
“It’s been a long week without you, Munson.” You tell him with a note of gladness taking up your whole throat. It was a relentless flurry heartache, of school, work, homework heaps and heaps. Too much. You feel stretched thin and brittle as burnt twine.
“Those little puffy baggies under your eyes are a dead giveaway, pencils.” He thumbs below your eyes, squishing down softly at the bags that seem darker and more black-purple than usual.
“Insane workload this week. Rudely kept me from seeing my favourite metal head.” You said with sulk.
“I can remedy that.” He twists to set his beer down on the floor. Returns with hands free to tuck you close. Hand slipping around the back of your waist. Splaying you to his chest. Plucking a deep inhaling kiss into the nest of your sweetly tropical scented hair.
“M’here now. You’re here. The world is set right again.” He comforts.
You smile and welcome the touch. Hand on his soft stomach. Grounding yourself in the barely soft pudge of his tummy through his shirt. Sat hip-to-hip at last with your menace of a metal head. Breathing in worn leather and smoky reds and it’s like he’s your jagged little rock n’ roll touchstone for normality. You can sink into relaxation now he’s here by your side.
“Apparantly you were really mean to whole of Hellfire yesterday.” You asked with humour traced on your mouth.
“That’s subjective. I can be a fair DM.”
“Mhmm? Apparently you banished Gareth.”
“He was being annoying.”
“You made him cry.”
“Who told you that?” He fidgeted. That meant it was true.
“My little birds and spies.” You mocked in a witches cackle.
“That’s concerning.” He commented.
“Lucas chatted to Red about it. She tells me all the goings on.” You inform him.
“Dammit, red.” He cursed with a silly grin.
“Why were you being mean?” You coaxed out like he was a toddler throwing a tantrum over someone touching his favourite hot red fire truck.
He slung his eyes up to yours. All dewy lashes and bambi. “Because-“ he starts with stroppy inflection. His arm unconsciously squeezed you in closer.
“They’re stealing you off me. If I can’t find you, you’re in the library helping Henderson and Wheeler with their homework. I come to see you at work and you’ve got this gaggle of meddlesome kids I have to bat away to get a look in. I find you at lunch and you’re monopolised drawing npc’s for Hellfire club or band posters for our next gig.”
You can’t help smiling. Oh, Eddie.
“Here, I didn’t even ask you here tonight. Gareth did. You brought cookies for them all and posters for the little shithead. You ask Jeff about his mom and his brothers broken friggin leg, and Matt’s asthma.”
“Is his brothers leg any better?” You check.
Eddie grits his teeth.
“He broke it at the football try outs. He so wanted to make the team. It was very traumatic.” You added openly.
“I just wasn’t counting on having to share you around with the entirety of Hawkins High.” He shakes his head. His hair goes all flicky. Something sad skates across his eyes.
You parse his sullen words through a filter:
One day you might chose them over me. And I wouldn’t blame you if you did.
“Munson?” You say seriously. He sulks but catches your gaze. “What?”
You answer by cupping his chin and lean in to smooch him real slow. The way he likes. He can’t stand half ass cold little pecks on the cheek. What have we been married for forty years- fuckin C’mere I’ll show you a kiss, pencils. Propriety be damned.
Eddies way was always to devour whole. All or nothing.
You hold onto his face even when you pull back. Lips all kiss stung. His eyes are all yummy and dark chocolate heavy. He’s dazed already.
“I don’t mind the babysitting. They’re cool kids. They adore the absolute shit out of you, and I’m glad they don’t despise me. And this goes without saying but I only have one rockstar in my life. That’s always gonna be you, baby. Period.” You tell him. Rubbing your thumb across his jaw.
“Yeah?” He asks all dopey. Puppy grin on his big silly mouth.
“Fuck yeah.” You grin. Eddie kisses you so hard it tips you sideways.
You laugh and it’s mumbled and crushed onto his lips. His sneakered foot flails out and catches his beer. Whips it over. Hoppy bud lite spilling everywhere.
His band mates clamour over the new sight of you both slanted horizontal on the couch. Eddie piling on top of you and some definitely sloppy making out happening.
“Heyyy-“ they all shout. “No dear god, please stop.” Like you’re a couple of dogs they’re trying to stop from humping.
“No no. We don’t have time for you guys to be horizontal right now. We have band practice!”
Eddie ignores them. Selective Munson hearing.
“Come over after this?” He asks with a low tone that you definitely catch onto the very sultry meaning of.
“Unchaperoned? Brazen. I’ll be ruined.” You tease.
“I’ll make the ruination very worth your while.” He picks the back of your hand up and kisses it all soppy and daft.
“Don’t you always.” You smile. Biting your lip. He’s simping hard when he nuzzles into your neck and lays out his arguments. Giving you those huge sad baby cow eyes.
“I’ve got a list of reasons you should accompany me home.”
“What are they, pretty boy?” You ask. Tucking hair behind his ear before it sticks to his lips.
“Number one, You just called me pretty…” He held up as his hand as he ticked off his reasons.
“Number two, you’ve got a really nice butt. Really. It’s like, super cute.”
“Thank you. Number three?”
“Wayne’s missed you. Asking me every damn day when I’m bringing you over again and you know I don’t like to disappoint.”
“Of course.”
“Number four, there is a spider in my room that looks like it might eat me. And I need a witness in case it tries something.”
“I’ll have to consider that.” You negotiated. But truth be told you made your mind up hours ago.
“I might consider it. Even if only for the express reason of spider protection. Not for any other reason whatsoever.”
He nods solemnly. “Mhmm yeah. I’m just trying to be safety monitor you know? Safety in numbers.” He says as he slides his hand up your sweater. Brushing over your stomach. You hold his hand over you.
“I like your thinking.” You tell him. He seals a lush kiss at your lips. Playing around with you.
Eddie parts from you with a sticky smooch. Licking lips. Your fingers tunnelled into the back of his hair. Lost in the sea of wild curly black. “Later, rockstar.” You bite your lip.
He blushed so much at your praise. That’s one other gorgeous thing. The amount of compliments you can pour into this boys ear in whispered praise or dirty filth: he lights up with the giddiness of it every time. Bulb bright. Megawatt.
He scrambled up and off you. “Alright, alright you little shrimps-“ He hissed moans and groans where he hauled himself up, and away, after smacking a wet kiss to your cheek that lingered.
“Where were we huh?” He crowds in and peers at the scribble of their set list. Leaning over to take a look.
You mop up the spilt beer with the too big sleeves of your sweater. Dabbing the floor. Gareth’s mom wouldn’t care for the garage being left smelling like a frat house.
You put the can back into the table. Laughing to yourself as they start to bicker over what song should be next.
Jeff sidles over to you all nervous as you’re knelt on the cold floor. “Can I beg a favour?”
He gets a pretty mangled tape out of his pocket. “Player in the car chewed it up on the way over. I know you have the touch.”
“Indeed I do.” You wipe your beer hands over your jeans and shimmy your fingers and take it off him with a curling grin. Slipping a Bobby pin out your front jeans pocket. “Leave it with me kid.”
You look down at the Corey Hart tape. Hook a brow. “Sunglasses at night, Jeff?”
“It’s my moms.” He offers all jittery. Hands sliding into his pockets. You nod. Carefully handling the shiny tape that needed rewinding.
“That’s what I say to Eddie about the Bryan Ferry and ABC I have shoved under my car seat and if you dare tell him- I will kill you ten different ways.” You grin with narrowed eyes. “Everyone’s allowed a guilty pleasure.”
“Secrets safe with me. You’re awesome.” He lisped bashfully, before joining the rest of his band. Who were now breaking out into a full blown argument now. The air fragrant with it. Thick shouts and interjections layered over each other. Everyone rising over each other to be the loudest.
Eddie is, of course, winning. Shaking his mad head and snatching the red sharpie and scrubbing over Gareth’s writing and almost running the pen over his fingertip on the page.
Stuffing another cookie in his mouth. They’re clamouring louder and louder. He’s spitting crumbs everywhere and now it’s turning into “Ew, gross dude.”
You shake your head and settle on the couch cross legged, sipping back cold beer occasionally, and patiently put Jeff’s poor mangled tape back to rights.
“You’re coming right?” Floats over to you. You break your concentration and look up. Gareth is talking to you.
“To what? You ask. Feeling behind and dumb.
“Our gig at the Hideout. It’s totally your thing.” Gareth flirts.
“Mmm audience of six drunks. I promise to be there and to misbehave.” You say methodically as you focus back on the cassette.
Eddies giving his best Billy Idol attitude glare at Gareth’s head. “Did you just invite my girlfriend to our gig?”
“What? She’d totally be into it.” He defends.
“Nothing wrong with getting some babes in the audience, right?” You shrugged, looking over at Eddie with a snappy wink.
“Exactly.” Gareth answers. A touch too flirty.
Eddie inhaled deep in rage as he snatched his own drumstick off him. “This is going up your nose, now.” He snapped.
Gareth wound around the drum set and Eddie gave chase. You watched them loop the damn thing ten times whilst Eddie shrieked at him and aimed random things at his stupid curly head. Half a cookie. An Iron Maiden cassette tape. Empty Pepsi can.
Symbols clash where they sprint past. Dodging cords underfoot. “Interfering son of a- MY girlfriend. You hear me, MINE, you lil shit.”
You stayed in your corner. Saturday night now apparently in full swing. Shaking your head as you smiled. Boys.
~
The crickets are creaking and the stars were vivid, winking so bright, when you and Eddie step out the garage door, and into the relentless night air. Thick and cool. So smooth you could sip it like a dirty martini.
It pricks bumps up your arms as he slings his metal clad fingers through yours, and lopes along with you. Band stuff corralled messily into the back of his beaten old van.
He stops when he scans the street. Shoes scuffing the sheet of tarmac.
“Huh.”
He flicks his eyes around. You lurch ahead of him. His hand still stuck wrapped in yours.
“Something up?” You ask.
There’s a glint of promiscuity in your eyes. It’s a menacing conspiratorial look. One that you’ve studied and poached off him, no doubt.
“Lack of a certain Capri sat on the curb out here, pencils.” He looks around. Making sure his eyes don’t deceive him.
You grin. “Yeah huh. How strange.”
He comes level to you. Twirls you into his chest. Arms linked around your middle. Those pillowy lips grazing the top of your jaw. Clever Pencils.
“Guess l’ll have to stay over now.” You accept. One hand over his. The other holding your overnight bag you’d assembled hours before.
“Seems that way.” He flirts all grinning, as he waddles you down the drive. Inside he’s fist pumping and yowling at the top of his lungs.
He pitched for you again. Leaning down and shouldering into you. Biting his lip all cheeky as he growls out a sound as he flips you over his shoulder. Carrying you with your legs dangling down at his back.
“I win. Pencils. I win. Suck it kiddos. How you like me now.” He says as he clumsily runs with you down the drive.
“Eddie!” You shrill. He slaps your ass. Makes an Mmmm sound as he does.
“I got your juicy ass now baby. I ain’t sharing anymore.”
Your laughs and shrieks and his cackles echoing in his ears all the way.

Eleventh Doctor x Fem!Reader
Synopsis: When Y/n has a nightmare about the Weeping Angels the Doctor is there to comfort her and make sure she knows that nothing bad will ever happen to her. Not while he's here.
Word Count: 965
A/N: Taking requests for Eleventh Doctor fics!
Somewhere in Deep Space.
It was night. Well, night for her. The Doctor had ordered her to go to bed when they got back to the Tardis after a quite terrifying encounter with the Weeping Angels.
Alone in the room the Doctor was walking around the console. His mind racing with everything that had happened and everything that could have happened. Who had been lost and who was saved.
A vision of Y/n standing unblinking as an Angel was right in front of her. He had been a hairs breath away from never being able to see her again.
He was so deep in his mind that he never heard the Tardis humming to him.
And oh, how she hates being ignored.
The Tardis jerked and made him fall to the floor, catching himself on his hands.
He shook his head in a daze, “Hey!” he grumped as he got off the floor, “What was that for?”
Groaning louder back at him he raised his hands in surrender. He didn’t want a Tardis tantrum happening while Y/n was trying to sleep.
“Oh alright, I’m sorry. I wasn’t ignoring you.” He gently rubbed his hands along the console to comfort her.
Placated with the apology, the Tardis whirled gently this time.
“Ohhh. Oh, I see. Back in a tick.” He realised what she was trying to tell him and skidded out of the console room to go to Y/n’s room.
When he reached the door he pressed his ear to it. Hearing the muffled sobbing coming from within.
He opened the door and slid in, softly closing it behind him again.
The room was lit by the nightlight he had created that showed different galaxies from across space.
She had her face buried in the pillow as she cried.
The Doctor’s hearts broke seeing her like this. He spun on the spot, towards the door and then back to the bed again, wringing his hands out of nervousness.
He’s really not good in emotional situations.
“Y/n?” he whispers.
Getting no reply he called a little louder. “Y/n.”
She shot up from her pillow with a gasp before realising that it was the Doctor who called out to her.
She quickly wiped at her face and sniffled, “Doctor? Is everything okay?”
He gave her a sad smile, always looking out for him.
“A little blue birdy told me that someone aboard wasn’t feeling very good at the moment and well,” he gestured to himself, “The Doctor came to help.”
She smiled at him which caused him to smile back. Her smile will always make him smile, without fail.
“It was just a bad dream. Everything from today just... got to me.”
“Letting something get to you.” The Doctor sat down on the edge of the bed and took her hand, “You know what that’s called?”
She shook her head.
He smiled and waved his hands in the air again, “Being alive. Best thing there is. Being alive right now is all that counts.”
The Doctor grinned and rolled over her. Her giggles warming his heart as he threw himself onto the other side of the bed and onto his back. Opening his arm for her to slide underneath. She gladly took the invitation and attached herself to the Doctor’s side. His arm protectively wrapped around her shoulders.
“What if the Angel got me first? Instead of them. It touched me, I felt the cold stone around my wrist before I landed in the past. Never seeing you again. Alone. Frightened. I had no one.” Her tears started to flow again against the Doctor’s coat.
“Hey. Hey now.” He pressed her tighter to him, “That didn’t happen. We are right here on the Tardis. You and me.” He lifted the hand that was clutched in his shirt and kissed her wrist before pressing his lips in her hair. “Alive.”
“We’d never be able to see each other again.”
He closed his eyes and wrapped both arms around her. He had also imagined what would have happened if the Angels had got her and it had filled him with a rage he has felt only a handful of times.
“I would burn worlds and tear galaxies apart to get you back again.” He whispered into her hair. “I’ve done it before.”
She looked up at him with teary eyes. Filled with a love he never thought he could have, “Yeah, and the Universe ended.”
“Hey!” he huffed and booped her nose with his finger. “I got it started again.”
She giggled into his chest and looked back up into his eyes. His eyes glittered like stars, full of knowledge and words and the craziest stories she’s ever heard. She raised her head and the Doctor’s eyes fluttered closed and his fingers tangled into her hair as their lips came together.
A kiss that burned brighter than suns. Deeper than a black holes. The most perfect thing in the Universe and it was in the Doctor’s arms.
She ran her fingers through his hair as he teased her lips with his tongue. Giving her a second peck and pulling away before it got out of control. He rested his forehead against hers.
“Will you tell me a story, Doctor?” she whispered.
He smiled and kissed her lips once more before bouncing back onto the bed, shifting to get comfortable.
“Have I told you about the Vampires in Venice?” his unoccupied hand flapped in the air as he began the story.
Y/n looked up at the ceiling, the galaxies floating around her room and the Doctor’s hand flailing in the air, his giddy words flowing through her, fighting away the darkness and wrapping around her in safety.
She will always be safe in the Doctor’s arms.
He’d make sure of it.

The Doctor (13th) comes to pick you up after a terrible weekend with your family
**I'm not fluent in english so PLEASE feel free to correct my mistakes!!! i'll gladly learn more
The screams are still very loud even after you closed the door. A sound of a slap follows, and you tremble slightly, even though it was just an usual sunday morning in your house. Your hands feel numb as you retrieve your phone, hidden under the pillow, and call the Doctor's number, tears stinging your throat.
"Hello?" She answers almost immediately, and you were about to respond when a door slammed loudly in the hallway, causing you to almost drop your phone in fear. "What's happening?" she asks before you could utter a word. You don't even attempt to steady your voice.
"Can you come pick me up?"
"Of course."
The Tardis materializes behind you, and the Doctor emerges from the doors in mere seconds, approaching you with worried eyes. And you are crying now. Crying and buried in her arms, your face nestled between her neck and shoulder. She frozes momentarily, unsure of how to react to the sudden hug, but quickly recovered and held you tightly.
There was no need for explanations as the sounds of their ongoing argument echoed from their room. You couldn't discern the exact words, but their heated voices send waves of anxiety through you. You are so sad, and so scared, and so tired.
The Doctor placed a comforting hand on your back as she led you to the Tardis, saying nothing as she navigated the console and whisked you away from that place.
You stood by the doors, tears streaming down your cheeks, and words stuck in your throat. The Doctor hurried back to you, cupping your face in her hands. The slight sense of comfort caused you to cry even harder, and in exasperation, she changed her position, pulling you close with her arms encircling your waist.
"I hate them." She says when you're not facing her anymore. You let out a soft sob against her chest.
"I don't." you reply. "But I wish they didn't hate each other."
You can almost feel the ghost of her lips against your forehead as she holds you close, gently guiding you to sit together on the stairs. You're so close to her, craving her touch and comfort so intensely that you're almost sitting in her lap, your head nestled against her chest and her hands resting on your thighs.
"I'm not sure what to say, but I'll hold you until I figure it out," she says with a faint chuckle.
"You're so kind, Doctor." You let out a little laugh.
"I'm sorry," she whispers, barely audible, and then she adjusts your position, pulling you onto her thighs and holding you tighter. "I'll always be here for you. No matter where or when. If you need me, I'll be there. I can't stand to see you sad."
"It's their fault," you whisper.
"You deserve so much love," she admits, finally giving in and planting a gentle kiss on your hair. You exhale, feeling exhausted yet experiencing something else you can't quite identify.
"You're the only one who makes me feel like I deserve it."
The Doctor runs her fingers through your hair, a gesture that speaks volumes even though she may not be certain how to comfort you. This closeness is new for both of you, and while she's always been kind, these recent moments feel more... intimate. She doesn't say anything, and she doesn't need to. You try to forget, if only for tonight, the rage and chaos that fills your home and focus on the love found in the Doctor's arms. She embodies everything the younger version of you always yearned for —being cared for.
"Do you want to go somewhere?" she asks after a while. You open your eyes and raise your head to meet her gaze. She smiles softly. "I can think of plenty of fun places we could visit."
You return her smile but refrain from nodding.
"Can we just stay in for now?" you ask.
Her eyes soften. "Of course. I'm pretty sure there is a fireplace somewhere in the library... Does that sound good?"
Your heart is finally warm.

Hiding Away (Clara Oswald x reader)
Summary: when you distance yourself due to insecurities over your body, Clara does her best to make you feel better
Tumblr media
Warnings: hurt/comfort, some angst, reader has body image issues but it's not specified why
A/N: I've been feeling pretty down lately due to dysphoria so I decided to be self indulgent and write this to help comfort me. I kept the reasoning behind the reader's body image issues vague so anyone who has troubles or insecurities about how they look can read this. just know that I love and cherish each and every one of you that have difficulties with how you look, regardless of the reason. it's okay if you have trouble accepting your physical body as a part of who you are. you're not broken or any less of a person for it ❤
Tumblr media
Clara hadn't seen you all day. In fact, she'd barely seen you the entire week, and while that wasn't entirely uncommon after a disasterous trip with the Doctor (you'd been attacked by the Daleks yet again) it was troubling to her just how little she saw of you.
That's how she ended up standing in front of the bedroom you had on the TARDIS. She really didn't want to pry, but she was starting to get concerned. Plus, she missed you.
Bringing her hand up to the door, she lightly tapped her knuckles against the wood before calling out softly. "Are you in there? It's been awhile since I've seen you and I'm a little worried."
She heard you call out a muffled "I'm fine" through the door. Clara waited in hopes that perhaps you'd elaborate, sighing to herself when you didn't.
"I'm going to come in, if that's alright with you?" She could've said it more as a command, but she posed her words as a question instead, so you'd feel a tad bit more comfortable with her sudden intrusion.
When she still got no answer, she turned the knob and slowly pushed open the door. The lights were out, but from what she could tell you were curled up in a ball on your bed, surrounded by a mountain of blankets.
Clara frowned at the sight, knowing it must be something truly bad to have you acting like this. "Sweetheart?" She called out tentatively as she walked over.
You let out a muffled grunt in response, peeking part of your face out a bit so she could see you. "Hi," you mumbled softly.
She gave you a gentle smile as she took as seat down on the edge of your bed. "Hello, darling. Are you alright?" She carefully asked, bringing her hand up to rest on what she assumed was your back, hoping to comfort you.
"Mm." You closed your eyes and muttered out a soft reply. "I haven't been feeling well recently. Been having problems with my body and how I look."
At your admission of what was really going on, Clara felt her heart break. So that was why you'd been hiding away. "Oh, sweetheart..." She whispered in a sorrowful tone as she knew exactly what you were talking about, even if you didn't say it in so many words. "Darling, I'm so sorry. May I touch you?"
She was careful in asking for your permission to touch you first, knowing how you'd sometimes rather to be comforted from a distance, but much to her delight you nodded your head before letting out a soft "Okay".
She nodded her head in turn before getting down on the bed next to you. As she pulled you close, she was careful not to shift or move your blanket off of you in any way, not wanting to raise your discomfort levels, even by accident.
You allowed her to cradle you close to her chest, nestling against her almost as if you were a small woodland creature who was trying to stay warm for the winter. "Thank you for being here. I really appreciate it," you spoke to her in a quiet voice. "I'm sorry for being so distant lately."
"It's alright, sweetheart. I understand completely, there's no need for you to apologize." Clara leaned her face down and pressed a loving kiss to where she thought your head might be. "I'll be here for as long as you may need me."
You felt as her hand moved up and down your back in a soothing nature while she added, "And just so you know, there's nothing 'wrong' with how you look. I know that might be difficult for you to believe right now, darling, but it's true."
Tears filled your eyes as you felt yourself become emotional. "Thank you..." You choked out while pressing your face into her chest. "Thank you, Clara.... I love you..."
The brunette felt her heart soar when you told her you loved her, even though you'd said it before numerous times. "And I love you," she reply before kissing your head again. "And I'll always be here for you if you need me. Okay?"
You didn't say anything else, but she knew you heard her from the way you grabbed her hand and held it close. The two of you stayed there like that for a good, long while, and even though it didn't diminish your awful feelings completely it did feel nice to have someone there to help take your mind off it, at least for a little while.

10th doctor x reader - the stars in your eyes
Tumblr media
Part 5:
You got in the TARDIS and Martha excused herself to go grab something to eat while the pair of you talked.
You walked around the console, running your hand along it, and you stopped when you got to the chairs and you sat down.
“I’m sorry I got angry with you, and for the things I said.”
“I messed up, you had a right to be angry.”
You leant back, tilting your head back and you closed your eyes, letting out a heavy sigh.
“I should’ve told you straight away, but I saw a chance for adventure and I really wanted to go…”
The doctor studied your quietly for a moment.
“You should have told me, this can be really dangerous (Y/N), what if you get hurt or worse?”
“I’m used to being blind doctor, I’ve adjusted, it’s why I know you’re stood about five feet away from me right now.”
“How do you know?”
You thought for a moment, trying to come up with a clever lie that would be somewhat believable.
“I can tell by the distance of your voice.”
He hummed a little and walked over, sitting next to you and you turned your head to look at his golden form.
“Answer my this. If you can’t see, how did you know that the galaxy we were looking at was the milky way? How did you ask to see the stars?”
“I have a small perception of light, not much but a little, it’s why my eyes are sensitive to the light because they can’t handle it.”
The doctor nodded his head and he looked at you.
“But how did you know where we were?”
“I guess you can call it an instinct? I always know where I am, exact location, whether it’s north, south, east or west, I know where I am and how far I go to get to where I have to be.”
“Impossible.”
You gestured to the console and he got up, and you rattled off the exact location of the TARDIS and he looked at you amazed.
“No…”
“Been able to do it since I was a child.”
The doctor walked back over.
He stood in front of you, his hands in the pocket of his jacket.
“Why didn’t you tell me though? Before you started travelling? Does Donna know?”
“Of course she knows I grew up with her, she was there when my vision went. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to say no to me coming, but I now realise that was a mistake.”
You slowly stood up and sighing heavily.
“Just answer me this doctor, two hearts. Why?”
“Oh that’s right you kept me alive!”
He quickly pulled you in for a hug and you hesitated for a split second before hugging him back, resting your forehead on his shoulder.
“I never did thank you for that, so thank you so much…” he whispered.
“The universe needs the doctor.” You chuckled.
You pulled away and crossed your arms over your chest.
“So, two hearts. What exactly are you Goldman? I know you’re not human.”
“I’m a time lord.”
That word rattled around in your head like a church bell, over and over and over, repeating non stop.
The doctor waited for you to reply and after a moment he went to say your name but stopped when the door creaked open he stopped.
He looked up and you took a step away.
“Sorry, like I said I know I shouldn’t have come. It was a mistake and I’m a liability.”
You turned around and ignored him calling out to you.
“Did you make a list…?” You mumbled to Martha.
“I did, I sent it to that address you asked me too.”
“Thank you, I might be seeing you around Martha Jones.”
You cracked a smile and you stepped outside, the doctor rushing behind you calling your name but you were gone.
You melted into the sea of people and he couldn’t pick you out from the crowd.
“What was that about?” Martha asked.
“She had other things to do I suppose…”
When you were sure that you could be seen by the TARDIS, you began to jog slightly around a corner that had no people.
Your body disappeared into small particles until no one could see you, and you reappeared back at the house by the front door and you opened it.
“(Y/N)!?” Wilf called.
“Yeah it’s me! Did you get a list of books?!” You called back.
You closed the door and set your glasses aside, and you wondered into the kitchen, sitting down at the table.
“I did, Donna’s out right now getting them all. What are they for?”
Wilf set a cup in front of you and he sat down at the table with you.
“They’re books that talk about a legend, about the child of the universe. Stories made up through all of human history, apparently humans have been talking about me for centuries.”
“Really?”
“I knew there were some stories out there, but I wasn’t aware how many people knew about me, or, rather believed in something like me, it makes absolutely no sense.”
“And why’s that?” Donna asked.
She set a few bags down on the table and stood behind you, her hands resting on your shoulders and you took a deep breath.
“I thought you were staying with him? Oh and Grandad mum wants your help with something outside.” She asked.
Wilf grumbled and got up, and Donna took his seat at the table.
“So? Why aren’t you staying with the doctor?”
You cracked a weak smile, looking down at the table.
“I can’t…”
“Why? What happened?”
“He knows I’m blind, shouted at me, I stormed out, we spoke, I found out he’s a time lord so I can’t travel with him.”
“He shouted at you?!”
“Donna it’s fine.”
She shook her head.
“It’s not! I’ll smack him! And what’s a time lord?”
You ran a hand down your face.
“It’s a civilisation from a distant planet, I’m not sure what happened to them, but for some reason he can’t tell I’m not human, he has suspicions but he can’t tell.”
“Is it such a bad thing if he knows?”
You heard talking in the hallway and you got Donna to followed you upstairs to your room.
You closed the door and sat on the bed, and Donna sat next to you, taking the remote for your tv to put something on to cover the talking.
“What you found me I came crashing down from space itself right? But was there anything else that seemed strange?”
“No?”
“I was frozen Donna, frozen in time. The time lords put me in a time lock which for some reason or another broke. The froze me in time which was why I was still so young.”
Donna looked at you.
“Why…?”
“Because I was something unknown to them, powerful even at such a young age and they feared what they didn’t know. They feared me, a little girl who was just trying to find her parents again… they took me and locked me away in the furthest depths of the universe and the time lock broke, and I came crashing down to earth.”
You took Donna’s hand in yours and held it.
“I love you all like my own family, you are my family. But you’ve seen what the doctor does to any aliens on earth, if he finds out what I am Donna he’ll do that to me…”
“I won’t let him!”
“You won’t get a say… he’ll send me away.. he’ll time lock me again.. but I keep hearing whispers in the universe, things that don’t make sense, it’s why I got those books, I thought maybe it would help.”
“Help with what? I don’t understand.”
“Help in trying to figure out why in here, why I hear these whispers. Something is happening Donna, and I need to find out before it’s too late.”
She looked at you and you looked at her, and she could have sworn she saw the flicker of one of the stars in your eyes going out.
She focused on your eyes, carefully studying them to make sure that they weren’t going out, but she never did.
“Alright, I’ll get them, you do your project thingy.”
You laughed softly and laid down, projecting yourself out of your body as you waited for her to return with the books.
You sat down and turned your attention towards the stars, furrowing your brows a little bit, you created a replica of the universe in front of you, and you spun it around a few times.
You felt like something was missing, a planet was missing, but you weren’t entirely sure what it was.
Waving your hand through model universe, you made it disappear and Donna came back in, dumping the books on your bed.
“Do you need any help?”
You looked at her and walked over, placing your finger on her forehead.
“Anything that mentions child of the universe got it.”
With that, you sat down on the floor while Donna went through the books, you sat with your legs crossed and closed your eyes.
The universe had things it wanted to tell you, and you were listening, taking in everything it was whispering for you to hear.
But nothing was standing out, so you began to search harder, trying to clear some of the words that weren’t quite making sense.
You needed a lead, anything that could help, and right now the only sounds echoing were the same thing.
The darkness was coming.
The child of time and the child of the universe.
But there was a new one.
One seemingly calling out for you, but somehow linked to the doctor, a female voice whispering.
The voice was calling out to the doctor, but she sounded so far away, her voice rippling through space like she wasn’t in the same universe you were right now.
But you could hear her words just barely

Chapter 7: Nothing Else Matters
——————
Michiko accompanies Lord Ren on a mission. A familiar face resurfaces. And more OC’s are introduced.
Tumblr media
“Kuni, get up. You’re joining me on a patrol today.”
Ren called as he knocked on her door. Michiko groaned as she sat up in the bed, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She let out a grumble to let him know that she was up as she heard him retreat down the hall outside her door. Michiko knew better than to try to talk him out of joining him on the patrol so she complied and started changing from her sleep wear to the Yiga uniform.
After a long day and night, the sun was beginning to set when Ren announced that patrol hours are officially over. Since his patrol area around the Tabantha area, sometimes other young Yiga would join in on the patrols while disguised as normal civilians. When he dismisses them all back to the hideout and only Ren and Michiko remain, she contemplates asking him if they can stop for food before they make their way back to the hideout.
“Kuni, let's get going. There’s an annual blade master meeting tonight.” Ren stated.
Confusion washes over Michiko’s face as she raises an eyebrow and glances over at him. “A blade master meeting?”
Ren started walking away before she could even ask her next question. “But I’m not a blade master. Why am I coming?”
He’s silent for a few seconds as she catches up with him and he looks over at her. “Master Kohga has asked for an update on your training.”
Anxiety begins eating at her as they make their way to the hideout.
They both arrived at the hideout a little later than everyone else. The other blade masters were all standing in a line, waiting for the master.
“I’m so sorry, my fellow blade masters. We were patrolling and left as soon as we could. Excuse our tardiness.” Ren apologized.
“Hello, Ren.” A woman about his height greeted him. “Who’s we?” She asked, slightly tilting her head in confusion.
All eyes land on Michiko as she emerges from behind Ren, with a shy wave. Her eyes immediately catch sight of a familiar horned mask but this time there’s a crack on the mask.
“Michiko?!” Sooga suddenly asked.
“Sooga?” She responded.
“You two have met before?” Ren asked.
“Yes,” Michiko replied to Ren’s question. “I aided him on a mission quite a while ago.”
“Ren, who’s that?” Another blade master asked as he pointed over at her.
“My apprentice, Michiko. As I said before, we were finishing patrolling and as soon as we were done, we came here for the meeting.”
Michiko was surprised that he left out the part of why she’s at the meeting. After all, only blade masters are allowed to be at these annual meetings and the other ones know that too. But before anyone else could get another word in, Master Kohga arrived.
“Thank you for coming to the annual blade master meeting.” Kohga says.
Tumblr media
“Ren, a word please.” The meeting had ended and the master called for Ren. As Michiko was about to join them, Master Kohga waved a hand. “Not you, Michiko.”
She nodded and remained in place in the hall where the other blade masters were. During the meeting, she was allowed to stay. Nothing peculiar happened other than the blade masters updating their ongoing investigations on finding the princess’ knight, the status of their patrolling areas. Not all the blade masters had apprenticeships other than Ren and the woman who had greeted him earlier.
Michiko was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt a hand being placed on her shoulder.
“Michiko.. it’s great to see you again. How long has it been, two years?”
She turned around to see Sooga and a few other blade masters. Their masks were off as Michiko pulled hers off as well. They all looked like they were in their late teens to early twenties.
“The pleasure is all mine.” She smiled at him. “And yes it’s been nearly two years since we completed that mission.”
“Lord Sooga, will you introduce us?” The woman from earlier excitedly requested.
“Yes, Michiko, these are a few of my fellow blade masters. This is Ayame,” he said referring to the woman, “and those two over there are Matsuda and Yoshida. Twin brothers that I personally trained.” The twins looked over at her and one of them waved while the other silently observed.
“Don’t worry, Matsuda has always been more reserved. Even with me.” Sooga slightly chuckled.
“How did you become an apprentice for Lord Ren? He has never been keen on finding one.” Yoshida asked.
Michiko awkwardly scratched the back of her neck, “it was Master Kohga who told him about me.”
The twins glanced at each other as Ayame spoke up, “I definitely look forward to having another woman join us.”
Michiko smiled as Ren emerged from the master’s study.
“Tomorrow we have more training to do.” He announced glancing over at Michiko.
“Ren, you must join the three of us for a late dinner before we all depart to do our tasks.” Sooga suggests. “Michiko, you as well.”
She raised her eyebrows as Michiko looked over at Ren. First she was able to stay in for their meeting and now she might join them for dinner? She never would’ve expected her day to be so.. eventful.
“Okay.” Ren sighed and gave in as the six of them headed to the dining room.
Tumblr media
Despite popular belief, bananas weren’t the only thing in the clan’s menu, as the Yiga’s chef brought out bowls of harusame soup for each of them. And besides the six of them, another blade master who went by Ryuji, joined them. Michiko tried to greet him at the beginning of dinner, but he just glanced at her before turning away.
At one end of the table sat Ren and at the other end sat Matsuda. Michiko, Sooga, and Yoshida on one side, with Ayame and Ryuji facing her. Michiko sat in between Sooga and Yoshida, with Sooga closest to Matsuda and Ayame closest to Ren. Everyone ate and chatted idly while Michiko simply observed. With all of them knowing each other so well, she felt a bit out of place being in the middle of them.
Eventually Sooga started making conversation with Michiko since their first interaction.
“So how’s your training with Lord Ren going?” Sooga asked.
For some reason, Michiko didn’t feel the need to hide anything from him so she told him the truth.
“It’s a lot harder than I thought to join all of you among the blade master ranks.” Michiko admitted.
Sooga hummed in agreement. “It’s difficult to get your body to get used to the techniques but once you master them, it's as simple as breathing.”
“Did you have difficulties ranking up?” She asked.
“At first, yes. But that was because I was nearly starving to death when I found the Master and he took me under his wing. I was just a fourteen year old boy putting too much pressure on myself and trying to rush my recovery process. But over time and with training, I was able to defeat a golden lynel and that’s when I was given the rank of blade master.”
At the age of fourteen, he was already a blade master.
“I just… I just feel like I’m falling behind with me being nineteen years old and still being an apprentice.” Michiko sighed.
“But you made quite the progress. With your hard work, you went from being a Yiga captain to an apprentice to a blade master. Lord Ren is also one of our strongest warriors.” Sooga praised.
Michiko’s cheeks turned pink. “Actually… Master Kohga told Lord Ren about me after I punched a fellow captain. Because he sees potential in me.”
Sooga raised an eyebrow, “why’d you do it?”
“Because he said that women in the clan should just stick to being wives or being nurses and that we shouldn’t be out there on the battlefield.”
The two of them were so engrossed in their conversation and for a moment, it felt like nothing else mattered.
“How’s the engaged life going for you two?” Ryuji asked Ren and Ayame.
They’re engaged? Michiko thought.
Sooga must’ve noticed her surprised expression. “Teenage friends to lovers who’re set to marry. They met since they joined the clan at the same time..”
Yoshida must’ve noticed her expression too because he starts speaking to Michiko.
“Tell me, how old are you, Michiko?”
“I’m nineteen.”
“Ah, the same as me. A year younger than Lord Sooga.” Yoshida smiled.
“Do you have a significant other waiting for you back home?” Yoshida playfully asks. “Or a girlfriend even? Surely a pretty girl like you wouldn’t have any trouble finding a suitor.”
Michiko shakes her head as she blushes, “no, nobody has caught my interest yet.”
“Yoshida, leave the poor girl alone. Not everyone needs to be married off at a young age like you.”
Yoshida huffs at Ayame’s comment. “I’m just saying. She’s a beautiful young lady, anyone would ask to court her.” He suddenly smirks and looks over at Sooga. “Right Sooga? Wouldn’t Kuni be a beautiful bride?”
Sooga regretted not having his mask on to conceal his face as it turned red and he stuttered for an answer. “I-… yes. Wait, I didn’t mean it like that. She’s beautiful but just not for me.”
Yoshida snickered.
“She’s beautiful but she should focus on her Yiga duties first. Michiko, you’re still young and have plenty of time to pick a suitor.” Sooga settles on that response at last. His cheeks were as red as their uniform.
Michiko giggled to herself. He always seemed so calm and collected during their interactions. Never this flustered.
“Are you romantically involved with someone, Lord Sooga?”
“No.” He quickly replied.
“Are you interested?” Yoshida asked with a shit eating grin.
Now it was Michiko’s turn to get flustered. “What? N- no. I was just curious.” She chuckled breathlessly.
An awkward silence falls between her and Sooga. And everyone else around them hollers and cackles.
“There’s early training tomorrow, so you should get plenty of rest, Kuni.” Ren suggested.
Michiko had never been so grateful for Lord Ren intervening.
“Right.” She responded.
The two of them stand up.
“I should go to bed too.” Ayame said.
“I too, must leave.” Sooga added.
Suddenly everyone was getting up from the dining table. Before Michiko makes her way to the hall where her room was, Ayame stops her.
“Good luck with your training under Lord Ren. When you join us in the blade master ranks, I look forward to having another woman to talk to.” Ayame said enthusiastically.
“Of course.” Michiko smiled at her.
Since Ayame is a blade master, she joins Lord Ren as the two of them walk off down the hall.
“I meant to congratulate you for being in the apprentice rank now. Best of luck with your training and I hope to see you join us in the next blade master meeting among our ranks.”
“Only one can dream.” Michiko whispered.
He turns to leave but Yoshida had other ideas. He’s standing behind Sooga and reaches forward with his massive arms, pulling you in for a hug, essentially squishing Michiko into Sooga’s chest.
“Such a great time! Kuni, it was nice meeting you. I look forward to seeing you again.”
Yoshida released them both and threw an arm around Sooga’s shoulders as they headed down the hall.
Michiko shook her head and smiled. She was beginning to get attached to everyone in the clan.
