i feel like a lot of people headcanon jisung as a shy, flustered almost mousey person

and i can see why (jwisung)

but i think that that image is something that was carefully and deliberately crafted (and perhaps something that he eventually grow into a little more)

but on the flipside jisung is hard to read at first

like i said, he's just got so much going on in his head that you're almost unsure which side of jisung you're dealing w

Erida and Echo are such an interesting duo and honestly I can see Erida having even bigger of a struggle in trying to approach Echo first. Mainly because she's most definitely aware that her behavior and mannerisms resemble too much of Dusknoir's and if she were to ever find out about what the guy did to Echo and Sora.. yeah she'll be extremely careful when approaching out of fear to not set off any alarms (because it's already enough that someone she resembles who was nice turned out to be evil, what's stopping her from just ending up like him?). But once she regains her memories of her past life and finds out about Echo's origins as well? she'll be so worried for her. even when they both hailed from different worlds and acted differently, Erida will at least try to comfort Echo in her eternal self-struggle with her past, be it by trying to comfort her or at least be the shoulder she has to lay on when things get rough emotionally. She won't try to be pushy about it but she'll let Echo know that she isn't alone in her struggles and that Erida is just one call away if she ever needs her.

AND GAIA AND SORA.. don't even get me started.

I think what truly separates between Gaia and Erida and their backstories is that whereas Erida had her memories screwed over twice and didn't find out about who she was until later on, Gaia was aware of who she was/is on day 1. From the moment she landed on the Grass Continent, she knew what she was and what she hailed from, but masked her feelings about it and just saw everything that had happened as a second chance for a better life. And while she would absolutely love Sora just as much, her aura sensing abilities would scare Gaia a bit because a part of her tells her that the whole reason people treated her a bit nasty is because parts of her past life and soul just flared like an aura that set them off and told them exactly what they had to know about her, even if shes redeemed. but for Sora to know all of that and tolerate Gaia, and even go as far as ENJOYING her company??? that little claydol would cry tears of joy (if she had tear ducts, that is.). Just the idea of having a friend and someone who wants her around besides Erida is so foriegn to her that she might even doubt a bit and think that her chain is getting yanked. but once she knows it's legit, you bet that she'll levitate all happily around and be just as happy as Sora is.

they all mean so much to me... (sorry if i rambled too hard in your askbox... your girlies have taken a part in my head as well so the feeling is mutual.)

Erida being the one to struggle even more than Echo in the first stages of their friendship messes me up (Erida being so kind and patient and gentle because she's working on her own self-image and perception and AUGH I love her).

Echo is pretty bold so I can definitely see her warming up to Erida first despite the fact that Erida resembling Dusknoir so much brings back some harsh memories. But Echo could care less though. Erida is not Dusknoir and so she has nothing to do with those unfortunate experiences. And the idea of these two girlies being friends and UNDERSTANDING each other makes me unhinged. And Echo is so ferocious when it comes to protecting those she cares about (she will NOT lose another friend, she'll use her abilities to shelter the ones she loves) so if anyone even LOOKED at Erida cross-eyed once they're friends Echo would tear them apart.

(I am now thinking of a cute idea that when Echo and Erida laugh or feel happy together their gold rings glow in sync and light up and it's the most adorable thing I've ever considered in my entire life). They're like... nightlight besties. I love that for them.

And Gaia and Sora! I talked about this already but you agreeing that Gaia would adore Sora too once she realized that Sora genuinely likes her and enjoys having her around is!!! THE BEST!!! THING!!!

Sora would be so enamored with Gaia I am TELLING you. She is the type to write out letters to friends just to update them on even the most menial, but sweet things. Like flowers she saw that day which reminded her of Gaia's coloring. Or good food that she had and it made her think of happy memories w/ her friends. Or something like, "Gaia! Today, Echo and I visited Shaymin Peak. While climbing I picked up a little trinket called a Sky Gift and the Shaymin tell me that it's an item meant to be shared with those you care deeply about, otherwise the item inside will cease to exist when opened. Of course I thought of you! I hope it ends up being something worthwhile. Write to me soon!" (and the item ends up being a friend bow!!)

I'm sorry I'm just emotional over the idea of Gaia doubting Sora's friendship with her (because surely Sora /knows/ something is wrong with her, she can sense aura and thus Sora should fear her) but then a SKY GIFT manifests an item symbolizing their bond w/ each other and it's a FRIEND BOW. If that isn't the most literal "Sora adores you" moment in the world, then I don't know what else is.

To sum it up, Sora loves with her entire heart and she'd make no exceptions for Gaia. I want them to hang out all the time. I will not take criticism. c:

Once upon a time, before you nuked the other blog for this one, one of the posts I remember you having was GIFs of Channing Tatum helping Stan Lee off from a stage, and I know you dug the act of him doing so, but I think I also remember you liking him as an actor as well?

Anyway, I know the MCU is like, rough, but he did get into the newest Deadpool as a role he wanted for a long time, so I thought you ought to know for once it comes out? Might be worth watching (plus all the other stuff - people seem to be liking it; sorry you need to wait for the subs/captioning, but still)

I am actually planning to see the new Deadpool movie in theater next weekend! I did not know Channing Tatum was in it at all (edit: OMG WAIT YES I DID I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT HIM BEING GAMBIT OMG I LOVE GAMBIT!!). My bestie is All About It and has been checking the cinemas every weekend just waiting for a day when its not insanely packed full of people, so we can go see it. Deadpool is always an exception to MCU burnout for me, there's just so much whimsy going on there.

Your big chain cinemas offer the use of caption devices these days and the major movie studios make sure their shit has captions for those devices to access, which a huge improvement over the movie-going days of my childhood.

The devices fit in your cupholder and that long arm is bendy so you can position the little screen where it wont block the big screen. The captions show up on the little screen like so:

The device is tuned to a channel which is set by which screening room you are in, so it syncs the correct captions to the correct movie at the correct time. And its good about that. The device may occasionally Not Work, like not pick up the signal at all at the beginning of the movie for whatever reason (tech never works flawlessly, but swapping out to another device always solves this), but if its got captions showing up they will be correct and they will be in sync with the audio. which is so nice to be able to rely on.

Also anon... you've been around a long-ass time, my friend. I haven't Channing Tatum-blogged since my last Jupiter Ascending phase which I don't remember when that was exactly but that was some pre-pandemic posting 🧡🧡🧡

12: What do you like least about this fic? - I'm not sure I'll really know the answer to this until it's done but at the moment, I dislike how anxious and insecure about it I've felt and continue to feel?

I've said on here again and again that I really don't mind if people don't comment or reblog or even like my fics. I want everyone to read however they're comfortable and if that means not interacting then I am so OK with that. That's because, while I LOVE sharing these stories with you all, I'm writing them because I feel like I want to and need to. I have novels - plural - sitting on my computer and in notebooks that no one has ever read and it's very likely no one ever will. I've been writing things because I feel compelled to (and literally never reading it again lol) since I was a kid. I taught myself how to type when I was 11 to make writing my first novel easier.

BUT Yearling was the first fic I started after people started following me on here and on AO3. When I started Lavender, some lovely folks were reading Beskar Doll on AO3 but it certainly didn't seem like a ton and I'd sometimes post a chapter and get 0 comments (which is totally fine!) I didn't expect people to pay attention to Lavender. I started Beskar Doll without the intent of ever publishing it at all and then, when I did, figured a handful of folks might read the first few chapters and then give up - it's long and very slow burn! I didn't feel like there was any pressure or expectation with them because no one but me was paying attention. With Yearling, I've worried that no one would like it because it wasn't Lavender, that y'all might feel let down that it was a different dynamic, that there wasn't enough smut and you'd feel misled, any number of things. I'm still going to tell the story I want to tell because it's the story that I think needs to be told, I just get anxious about it a lot more. Lavender was like waking up and suddenly being in the middle of a roller coaster ride with it getting all the love it got. Yearling (which everyone has been absolutely lovely about, this is not even remotely a complaint!) has felt more like the chain lift up the first hill. I keep waiting for the bottom to drop out, for y'all to be like "This isn't what you made us believe it was!" or, worst of all, find out that I've got all the writing skill of three raccoons in an overcoat.

Sooooo yeah! I don't have anything really narratively that I dislike so far? I might change that as time goes on. But my desire to serve people definitely clashes with my creative drive and that's really really apparent (internally) with Yearling for me!

man i don't even remember what ppl said the first few times i saw it, i think something about nikolai's wish for freedom and chuuya's chains of loyalty. the thing that triggered this post was someone saying it in the context of dazai and fyodor being foils (actually i remember a few ppl saying it. like. if dazai and fyodor are foils, then that must mean nikolai and chuuya are too) which. again. not how foiling works 😭

besties i can assure you not everything is connected. at least not in this very specific way that's used to highlight certain qualities in (usually main) characters. it's okay to just let things be, or even point out how similar or different they are without misusing this very specific term

You wanted ideas, here are ideas (Zuko related sorry if it's not what you wanted)

On Ember Island, a couple days before the final showdown. You can't sleep, and aparently so does Zuko. A chat ensues, with you both comforting each other

(Waterbender reader who can heal) You go with Zuko and Katara goes with her brother when the time comes to separate for the war. The lightning strike was supposed to hit you, not him!. Cue angsty moment of you coming to him after chaining up his sister and crying while trying your besty to heal him. One thing goes to another, and it ends up in an unexpected kiss and confession.

A more simple one: Zuko and you stargazing a couple weeks after the war is over, thinking about the future and what awaits you. Cuddles, fluff!

oooo ok I really like all of these, but I'm a sucker for comfort fics, so I'll start with the first prompt. (I might write the other ones later on, who knows?)

So because I absolutely love earthbenders and would love to be one (validation plz) reader's an earthbender in my eyes, but I tried to write this to be as vague as possible with the reader's abilities. All you need to know is that reader is a boss b***h who occasionally needs her fire prince by her side.

Here's the thing:

Under the Stars

Very few things in your life so far made you as nervous as this.

As much as you enjoyed the company of a certain fire prince, you hoped to never hear the word “ember” again.

And maybe that’s what led you to your current predicament. Strewn across the grass, just beyond the Gaang’s tents. At first, you were just staring at the stars, hoping the night sky would help ease your mind. Instead, you found yourself tense, eyes closed, mind swimming with hopelessness and doubt.

You questioned your own abilities, wondering if you really were good enough to hold your own in a couple of days. You couldn’t help but feel inadequate sometimes, being surrounded by the avatar, the legendary Blind Bandit, a prince, a waterbender and healer, and two of the greatest warriors you had ever seen. Sure, you were strong, but would it be enough. Hell, would all of you be enough? Ozai and the fire nation were no joke, seeing that they managed to bring this much trouble to the all-powerful Avatar and his team.

The more you thought about it, the more your confidence decreased, and the more your insecurities heightened. You shut your eyes tightly and shook your head, trying to dispel such negative thoughts.

“You too?”

You jolted, immediately scrambling to stand and face whoever your potential attacker was. Instead of a threat, Zuko stood in front of you, slightly alarmed at your frightened reaction.

You cleared your throat and lowered your guard once more.

“Um… yeah I-I couldn’t really sleep. I guess you have the same issue?”

“Uhh, yeah. I mean, I’m about to go fight my family and my home, can you really blame me?” he chuckled dryly, meeting your soft gaze.

You would be lying if you said you didn’t have any feelings for the firebender, and this situation, both of you in close proximity, alone, under the stars, wasn’t helping at all.

“I’m sorry Zuko. I know that this is probably more important to you than anyone else. But just know that I’m here for you, whatever you go through,” you gave him a small smile.

He took a few steps closer, and it was at times like this where you could swear that the feelings you held for him were mutual.

“Thank you, but what are you doing out here? You should be getting some rest, I mean, we’re all going to need our energy for-”

“Do you ever feel inferior? Lesser than? Not good enough?” you blurted out, finally speaking your mind.

“Wha-what? How often do you feel this way? Of course you’re good enough! In fact, you’re stronger and better than almost anyone I know!” he exclaimed, clearly shocked. “Is this what kept you up?” He inched closer, and spoke more softly this time.

You suddenly realized how close Zuko was to you right now. “Well, I-I just feel like everyone else is much more powerful. They always know what to do, and sometimes I think I’m just another soldier, for more manpower. You can’t tell me you don’t think that of me-”

You were interrupted by the feeling of Zuko’s lips on your own. You froze for a moment, too shocked to reciprocate. Zuko took this as a bad sign, and immediately pulled back.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to overstep, and I understand if you don’t feel the same way, i just-”

You stopped him from rambling further by looping your arm around the back of his neck and drawing his lips to yours again. This time, both of you melted into the kiss, moving as one. Zuko drew his arms around your waist to pull you closer and deepen the kiss. You both pulled away breathless, and slightly in awe.

“You talk too much.”

He laughed at that. “Well, I quite enjoy how you’ve decided to shut me up, can we do more of that?”

You scrunched your nose as you giggled, and Zuko thought he could die of happiness as it finally sunk in that this was real, you were real, and you, laughing as he held you close, was real. Suddenly it didn’t matter that a war was coming. In fact, both of you found yourselves invigorated with new hope, new confidence.

“You are so annoying,” you said as you squirmed away from Zuko, who was trying to peppering your face in kisses.

“Ah, but you love me. Hopefully.”

“That I do Zuko, that I do.”
