I really like the MC and OC questions. I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you a few about yours : Relationships & Personality :2. Concept and design :2. Demon :3: Human :3. And also (if you like, it's not in the questions but it intrigues me): what is their favourite food? -^^

Relationships & Personality 02: On a scale of 1 to 10, how annoying are they to Lucifer? :)

I'm gonna give Arsenios an average score of about an 8. Normally Arsenios avoids Lucifer because he knows he's gonna get annoyed lol. He doesn't want to start trouble. But if he actually talks to Lucifer, it shoots up to like the max. So averaging it out I'm going with eight.

Ciaran is always a 10. Ciaran doesn't like Lucifer very much for quite a while. They eventually come around, but even then, they are a troublemaker at heart. They are actively contributing to Lucifer's grey hairs and most of the time it isn't even on purpose.

Concept and design 02: What inspired you to create them, and what is the first thing you decided about them?

Arsenios was based on the concept of the crossroads demon, but specifically the idea that musicians will sell their soul in exchange for musical talent. I was just thinking about more traditional demon stories and how they might fit into the world of OM. So the first thing I decided about him were his powers and that part of his history.

The only thing that inspired me to create Ciaran was the need for an MC lol. I actually went through a few different iterations before finally settling on who they are now. They had different names and slightly different looks and personalities. Their backstory has always been somewhat the same except that the amount of siblings they had changed drastically. Like at one point, they had four siblings. But anyway, I think the first thing I decided about Ciaran was their name. It's a name I've always liked. So I basically went okay, my MC's name is Ciaran, now who are they? And then I took bits and pieces of everything I'd written so far and that's how Ciaran came to be lol.

Demon 03: Do they have any special abilities?

I answered this here! And rambled quite a bit, too lol. But I will add something about the way Arrie makes pacts - obviously the whole point is to give humans musical talent. So instead of just raw power, Arsenios is essentially giving the human he has a pact with knowledge and ability. He's passing on his own skill at playing an instrument to that human. He can still be controlled through the pact like any other demon, so I think he could give the human raw power if they demanded it. But that's not usually the point and most humans who make a pact with him are doing it for the talent.

Human 03: Did they believe in demons and angels before the exchange program? Did they have any contact with the paranormal before it?

Ciaran tries not to think about these things at all. They were perfectly happy not believing in such things and now they want to enjoy the ride of being an exchange student in the Devildom without having a religious crisis at the same time lol. Ciaran's mother is a devout Catholic and Ciaran was raised with that belief system. So for a time, they believed in all that stuff. But as they grew older, they began to question and eventually left the church altogether. So they very much stopped believing. After that, they didn't really have an opinion. If you asked them about what they believed, they would say they didn't know. They would say that they think it's more important to focus on the now, on the life you're currently living, than to worry about what might happen in the afterlife. They're too busy living to worry about it. (This all changes dramatically in the AU where they're half fae, but let us not get into that lol.)

I don't think Ciaran has had any paranormal contact previously. They're pretty thrilled about magic existing because it's something they liked to believe in (in a non religious way). But if they had ever encountered anything like that in their life, they were unaware of it at the time.

what is their favourite food?

Arsenios's favorite food is macarons! It's kinda silly, but he's friends with Barbatos and has been for a while. So Barb invites him over to the castle for tea parties and such. And that's where Arrie first encounters a macaron. He's amazed when he picks one up and it's super light. And forever after that, they were his favorite. Arsenios is a good cook, but he's terrible at baking. So I think he sees them as really special in that sense, too.

Ciaran's favorite food is a roast beef and provolone sandwich on sourdough bread. Specifically bread baked by their older sister. Even better if there's also pepperoncinis on it. Their sister Fiadh owns her own bakery and she's been baking since they were little kids. She's been making sandwiches for Ciaran for so many years, it's like a comfort food for them now.

You know how I know Natalia gets written out? Because we saw what happened with Ali and how Taylor had to be written into so much of seasons four and five for Buck to have a story line. Unless Natalia came back as a dispatcher, she'd never be around. You know how I knew Marisol wasn't getting written out? Because Eddie has yet to date a first responder and the average viewer has no idea about Edy's shitty joke. And even if they did, that doesn't mean they all would think what she did was wrong. Transphobia doesn't start and stop with her, sorry. Oh, and there was no way both Buck and Eddie were going to start the season single even with a legit time jump. That was fandom being fandom. You know how I know Tommy is the likely LI were Buck to start dating guys? Ana. Taylor. Lucy. Natalia. Marisol. When fandom *still* tries to convince itself that "Buck and Eddie can be friends with these characters!!!" they're never fucking right. It makes perfect sense for Tim to apply the same logic to a man since the general audience and social media fan base aren't going to make that connection until they see it for themselves. Just like you're doing now. I don't need to hint at having an "inside source" when the answers have been laid out for me the last six seasons. ;) Whether or not everyone else chooses to take note of them is out of my control. (And by the way, if I had an inside source, why don't I talk about anyone else? It's almost as if I focus on the two story lines I've come to understand the best, no?)

Healthy relationships: Even when both characters are undeniably horrible people, I can't help but make them soft, tender, and just incredibly good for one another.

Height differences: I love me a good height difference, okay? It's why most of my OCs are so damn short/tiny. It's the only way I can get a significant height difference between them and Cillian's characters.

Canon compliant: Outside of the very occasional AU, I like to keep my stories for each fandom all in one continuity and as close to canon as possible.

Tragic backstories/trauma: Almost all of my OCs have had some sort of backstory or trauma that strongly defines their arc and characterization.

Angst/comfort: Listen, I love writing angst, but I also love writing comfort and, as forementioned, I love writing characters in healthy relationships that work together to fix their problems and make sure each other are okay. It's really hard for me to introduce an angsty scenario and then just leave it hanging or give the characters an unhappy ending.

Established relationship: I don't know why, but I love writing characters who have been together for a long time and just have the vibe of an old married couple who can speak to each other through just glances alone.

The couple is constantly horny for each other: I've made it a point to ensure each of my pairings get at least one detailed smut scene together. And they are constantly making little passes at and flirting with one another (Lucy and Tommy are easily the worst about this though).

Happy endings: Of both the narrative and smutty variety. 😉 In all seriousness though, this is often the one place where I will throw canon compliance out the window, or at least very strongly bend it if I need to. My babies are getting their happy ending riding off into the sunset together, goddammit.

Dating a co-worker: Looking back at my works, and yeah, this trope shows up a lot. Vanessa and Jonathan are both psychiatrists at Arkham, Alice is Robert's assistant at Fischer Morrow, Lucy is Tommy's personal assistant, and Rose and Raymond are both timekeepers. It gives me more opportunities to write them in scenes together, and sometimes adds a layer of understanding of the other's worlds that the characters might not otherwise have.

Snuggling/cuddling: Maybe it's because I'm touch starved but I just can never pass up the opportunity to have my characters hold or cuddle up to one another. There's a lot of physical affection in general in my work.

If i'm being honest, i'm not really a fan of JeRza cuz not having grown up with FT or "The Big 4 ship", I'd just find them completely moronic. I kinda don't mind GruVia or GaLe cuz I don't really care for them that much however, I greatly despised NaLu cuz I get the feeling, it will be an abusive relationship where that Natsu would caused so many problems to Lucy to the point of extreme levels of headaches. Lucy deserves so much better than that retard. As for JeRza... I used to hate Jellal but now I don't really care about him, he's kinda just.... there? That ship just wasn't for me. Sometimes I don't understand what Erza sees in him? But truth to be told, I also have a fictional crush on Erza, too. I don't like Jerza cuz they're relatinship feels kinda tiring and kinda boring. Also, they need years of psychological therapy which I never see them do. I really don't like it when Erza changes deamanor wherever she's around that pretty boy. It kinda feels just like when Sakura changes wherever she's around Sasuke(although I hate Sakura). I mean, why ship that when Erza can have so many fun ship dynamics with other characters. But hey, it's just an cartoon/anime/manga. Non of these relationships would work in real life... Although, I could be wrong.

P.S. If I wanna ship Erza with someone, I'd ship her with Denji(Chainsaw Man).(Okay, I'm joking, that's was joke XD)

P.S.2. I'm kinda pissed off when Jellal accidently grabbed Erza's cans as well feeling them. Some people thought it was sweet and funny. As for me, come on! Anybody, could have done that!... Although, I could be wrong.

P.S.3. I kinda get the feeling that some/most people ship JeRza cuz they're both hot and attractive characters.

And I don't understand how you think nalu would be abusive, for as much as i criticize it, that is in fact one of the few things i don't think would apply to that ship. Is it just because Natsu is a bit of an idiot (only a bit, flanderization has been at work in the manga for a while)? Having a partner who's a himbo and kind of impulsive doesn't mean the relationship is going to be abusive. Likewise, don't understand why you care more about the ways in which nalu could be abusive but you don't mind gruvia which has actual disgusting and toxic behaviors from early on.

No sorry, I mean the show is making 'the' humanlike Ghoul significant when it is slightly less so in the later games. In the very first game it is significant, the surviving ghouls in particular have become somewhat removed from human culture (like Set) - this is an issue with the later games where things which are very significant end up being downplayed (super mutants, ghouls, Deathclaws) - but I was trying to say that the show gives it more metaphorical Beastlike meaning than just video game monsterliness.

You're right, there are still plenty of bad endings possible, but I'm surprised at how much positive foreshadowing there is for his character. But there was a lot of that for Kylo Ren in TFA.

I'm also a bit baffled with the Fallout show (and Hot D), both recent major productions, because some of the editing and the pacing is just baffling. There are some real plot contrivances that just feel ultimately verryyyyy silly, and I'm not somebody who ever complains about that!!! So my concern now is less whether they stick the landing and more worrying about the current state of editing and whether anybody's getting paid enough

Could you tell me why you think so? I don't know if I'm getting that vibe. They do definitely suggest he's rare in being in nearly perfect shape when he's so old, but it's focussed on his ability to survive such a dangerous and miserable life rather than just the fact of persisting as a ghoul. Older smoothskins aren't in great shape, either. It seems more about his skill and tenacity than an innate quality he has. Characters seem to be mostly questioning his will to go on rather than the how. I don't know that I think he's more human than other ghouls we see. The pale guy Lucy rescued seems very normal and his look is pretty similar.

Totally. Honestly, my only real concern is that he'll die. Either tragically or 'bittersweetly'. I don't think there's a chance worth worrying about of his character arc going in a negative direction in any other way than death being the ending. Either bc they think of him as 'already dead' or bc peaceful death is the happiest they'll allow him to be. I fear both those possibilities. I don't fear for his soul, if you will. He's not going to become a villain.

The pacing did strike me as very strange. I didn't know if I was just grumpy because I've not been feeling well or if it's because it often dips into a horror movie style that maybe I just don't like? but yeah. Because there's the opening prologue scene, which is an absolute fucking 10/10 cinematic masterclass, note perfect in every way, and then the rest of the episode after that felt weird/incredibly slow. I think the structural edit is fine, but something about the shot to shot editing is off. The timing is awkward, particularly when there isn't dialogue. I've felt that way about pretty much all the streaming original movies I've seen to varying degrees, so it's definitely a production process problem.

Lucifer

He was confused at first, wondering if you did something wrong. He keeps an eye on you after this, observing if you reacted the same way with his brothers or just with him. You, on the other hand, were not dumb. You knew he was observing you, you just don't know the reason why.

You approach his office after a long day, intending to get to the bottom of this. Lucifer is eager to finish his paper. He wants to get this issue over with and head to your room to talk everything out. He was pulled from his thoughts when he heard the familiar pattern of your knocking.

"What is it, my love? Shouldn't you be resting by now?" He put his pen down as you sat down on a chair. You shrug, "I was busy doing homework." You lied. You reach for his hand from across the desk and say, "Luci, I know you've been observing me for the past week. I just want to ask the reason for it. "You know you can always talk to me, don't you?" He tells you the reason, and you kind of feel bad. He didn't do anything. In fact, he tried to warn you about the attic, but you didn't listen.

You proceeded to tell him the reason for acting that way and how you were still uncomfortable around Belphegor and a bit distant towards the others, who immediately accepted his apology and moved on. He nods his head, "I understand. I'm sorry we made you feel that way. Do you want me to get you a human therapist? Just say anything. I'll make sure I can help you in any way, love."

Mammon

He immediately thinks he's the problem. Did he do something wrong? Did he make you upset? Did you find out about him selling your favorite merc- he's worried. At first, he's kind of distant with the subject, not really mentioning it or completely forgetting it happened. He's reminded of the issue when it happens again during a makeuot session where he grabbed your neck, out of habit.

"W-what happened? Did it hurt?" He said, resting his hands on your waist. You shake your head no. Burying your head in his neck, you can't help but tighten your arms around his shoulders as you explain the reason for reacting that way.

He's silent for a moment before you feel something wet dripping on your shoulder, followed by his cries. He sniffs, "I'm sorry... I should've been there to protect you. Lucifer assigned me to be your guardian because he trusted me and I failed both him and you. I try hard not to think about it and just continue living with you, but sometimes it just comes to my mind."

You scratch his head in the spot he loves, "I know, Mams. I don't blame you at all. You protected me the best you could, and I'm grateful. No one expected what happened, much less it happening inside the house." You held each other that night, saying your worries to each other.

Leviathan

Yep, no. He's not questioning you, immediately blames himself, and won't leave his room. The one time he initiates a victory hug with you, you freeze and slowly let go. Did he overstep boundaries? But you always hugged him! He's scared he might've offended you.

You kind of expected Levi to not take it well. You know how he struggled with affection. So you head to his room to explain what happened that night. You expected him to be on his knees apologizing or something, because let's face it, Leviathan is just as dramatic as Asmodeus.

He slowly nods, "C-can I hug right now? I promise not to touch your neck in any way!" You nod, and he wraps his arms around your shoulders, chin resting on top of your head. He traces patterns on your back as he speaks, "I was one of the first demons who forgave Belphie. I'm sorry for not thinking about how that would've affected you. I was just happy to see my brother again..."

Satan

He's not dumb, he understood what happened the moment his nails grazed your neck in the slightest. He doesn't question you, he leaves the room, claiming he forgot something in the living room. You use this time to collect yourself and calm down. You know Satan already knew what was going on and you're grateful to him for not pushing the subject.

A few moments pass, and he arrives in the room with a tray of your favorite snacks and soda. He places the tray in front of you as he reads a line from a book you both love. You sigh as you lean against him, your mind fully at ease.

Asmodeus

Another one who's clueless: he was always this touchy with you and you never complained or showed any action that you were uncomfortable. The first thing he did was sit you down and carefully ask what was wrong. Asmo is very observant when it comes to body language. He's also memorized every quirk of your body language.

You break down as you tearfully explain what's wrong. He looks at you with sad eyes and says, "MC, I know what you've been through was tough. If it was me, I wouldn't even know how I would've reacted. I'm sorry for taking it so lightly and for forgiving Belphegor so quickly. I love my brothers, MC. You know that, right? But I love you as well. You're still alive, so I assumed everything was fine as it was before."

He sits down beside you, lovingly caressing your face, "I ignored it. I just didn't want to remember how you looked that day, how lifeless you were. Now I know what I did was wrong. If you'd like, you can ask me anything. Anything I can do to help your situation, love"

Beelzebub

He's also one of the guys who immediately understood why you reacted in such a way. He's heartbroken. All he wanted was for his family to be together and for you to be there with him. He's disappointed and mad at what Belphie did, but he knows he can't resist his twin.

He puts himself in your shoes, having to experience dying, seeing your own dead body, and watching your boyfriend forgive your murderer so quickly. Everything went back to normal in a flash that you couldn't even process. How Belphie suddenly became nice to you when Lilith's ancestry was revealed.

He lifts you up and gently places you down on the kitchen counter as he gathers his courage to speak, "MC, I-i don't know where to begin." You take his hands into yours and kiss his knuckles, "It's fine, Beel." He cuts you off, "No, it's not! I should've done something to prevent it, if only I knew. When I saw you standing by the stairs, I was so relieved that I tried to forget everything that happened before. Trust me, MC. I'll do anything for you to feel better... Even if it means leaving Devildom and living in the human world."

You let out a laugh, "You don't have to go that far, Beel. I understand you love your family. I don't want to take that away from you. I just need some time to sort this out. You can help me by helping me find a therapist. Okay?" Your smile makes him calm down, convincing himself that everything will work out well.

Belphegor

The moment his fingers accidentally graze your neck, he feels you freeze. He immediately pulls away from you and leaves the room. He can't think clearly, on one hand, he wants to confront you about this to get all your feelings out, but on the other hand, he's scared of what you'll say. What if you don't want to be with him anymore?

He figures the latter will be better for the both of you. He enters the room again to find you neatly arranging the bed, acting like nothing happened. He sits down, "MC, we need to talk?" You smile, "About what?" He motions to your neck and a wave of realization dawns on you. You sheepishly rub your neck, "That was nothing! I was just surprised."

He furrows his brows, "I'm not dumb. We won't get over this issue if you don't tell me what's wrong and what I can do to fix this." You sit down to tell him everything on your mind since the incident happened, all the while holding his hand while Belphegor is slowly brought to tears because of how much you suffered because of him.

He sniffs and wipes his tears, "I understand and I'm sorry, MC. I didn't consider your feelings. When you helped me with my relationship with my brothers, I thought everything was fine. I want you to get better, even if it means I have to completely remove myself from your life."

The page to page observations make some sense as to the mixed options of the fanbase, but at the same time it can be difficult to figure out how we should view the characters. Are we supposed to like them? Hate them? Be indifferent to them? My opinions of each character are on a roller coaster every time, even if I reread the story multiple times. I understand it's a dramatic/ realistic approach to high school drama, but then how do we know who's growing in character and who isn't? (1/2)

I find it's better to empathise with them. It might be easier if you're older. Personally speaking, I feel like the majority of people in their late teens to early 20's tend to ride their emotions on characters, particularly with things they relate to them, whether thats how they behave or the situations they've encountered, like being cheated on, betrayed, assaulted, etc. This is a broad generalisation though. It's taken me a number of re-reads to form my own better understanding of the characters, and not to mention I tend to feel a lot of people don't enjoy looking at things like characters holistically, or feel they don't have the time to commit to that.

I used to have favourites when I started reading the story, Paulo was cool, I felt for Lucy, resented Mike, but after a certain point in time I started to really care about how each of the characters has been put together and the reasons for why they were the people they became. I found it harder to outright hate them after that point, and at the very least I just pity them because they've all got inhibitions and traits to them they've yet to overcome.

Abbey was probably a great example of this because I was never a fan for him when I first started reading the comic, though I suppose that's because at the same time I was also riding that Paulo and Lucy would be a thing before re-reading and realising how much of a problem that would be. When I cared to look at Abbey carefully (as I also did in the megapost) things started to click and I started to see new things about the character, you know, one that ultimately had a great sense of morals and ideals, but was far too inexperienced when it came to relationships and friendships to know when it was necessary to involve himself, and when he shouldn't. Such was the case when he could have likely done something with Lucy and Mike's failing friendship, or involve himself with his then-girlfriend friendships with another character whom he resented.

Which characters you like or dislike is ultimately up to you. I wouldn't feel too pressured to need to follow the 'collective hivemind' as it were of any fandom. You don't tend to know how the others are all reading the story, if they care for the characters etc. So I'd be hard pressed to say you should let it influence how you enjoy the story. I'd feel this with any fandom, BCB or not. Being part of the discussion doesn't necessarily mean trying to fit in with the majority with who is universally good or bad but having civil discussion as to the direction they're taking, and at least ensuring both sides acknowledge the flaws in the characters before dictating whether the development is good or not.

A calculated person, Satan is a smart player

But there are times when he’s particularly angry and he becomes a reckless one, jumping into fights impetuously

This is where you come in and beat the enemy for him

He may get angrier, thinking you are underestimating him

But, for the sake of the person he loves, he calms down knowing you didn’t mean to offend him

A small part in the back of his head also admires you for being able to handle the fight a ton better than he did

Congratulations, you just earned yourself the great Satan’s respect (resident evil-wise).

Asmodeus

They are slowly returning to normalcy... - "He was the laziest, most stubborn man you could find on this planet….He was untactful , brutally honest and worst of all, sometimes he could be so awfully mean and grumpy , especially when it was Tuesday...Juvia never got that...why Tuesday?….Dear God , he could be so unbearable...."- Juvia stopped for a moment, then smiled playfully.- "Honestly you two are pretty similar in that case" - "Ekhem....So.. you're suggesting that I'm mean and grumpy ? Oh ..Alright... I'll remember that when you want something from me..."- Gray said, pretending to be offended and trying hard not to smile. Juvia laughed loudly, then wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a sweet kiss on his lips. After Jerry disappeared, she was sure she would never get attached to anyone again. She didn't want to suffer more. But as we all know, life likes to surprise us, and "never" is not eternal. First she met Gajeel , with whom, by some strange coincidence, she found a connection. Funny, considering how different they were. Even then a quiet voice in her head, similar to Jerry's, whispered to her to not get too attached….that it didn't make sense. On that day, for the first time in her

life, she decided to ignore it, and thanks to that, she gained a wonderful friend. The same situation happened again after she met Gray and Fairy tail. The insistent voice kept reminding her of the past. 'Just because you've miraculously found a friend who hasn't left you, doesn't mean that it will happen again...' 'So what if he stopped your rain, one day you'd be able to deal with it by yourself…..Besides, don't you remember what happened the last time you felt something for a guy? It's just stupid, meaningless crush, just get over it....' But as time passed and she became more and more attached to the guild mates, more and more in love with Gray..... The voice in her head gradually faded and after a while the only sound she heard was the laughter of her loved ones. Despite the suffering of the past, Juvia no longer regretted anything. She would go through it even 100 more times, just to be happy with her new family. -"Oi ! - she felt Gray lightly tap her nose- Juvs don't fall asleep, we have a train in about two hours….. Remember? That's awesome, wish you a great time guys." -they heard Lucy's voice behind them. - "They are such a beautiful couple."- added Erza proudly-" I can't believe that our Gray has grown so much..I hope you'll have an amazing vacation." - '"I also wish you an amazing time'' -said Wendy happily. -Ohhh..young love…- sang Happy, flying over their heads. - " And where are you two going anyway?"- asked Natsu curiously while finishing his lunch. - "We decided to visit my hometown,"- said Juvia. Her friends didn't need to know more... - "Oh cool..Where is it?" -continued Natsu. He never really thought much about where his guild-mate came from.. -" I don't think that's your business Flame-brain. Besides you probably wouldn't know where it is anyway." -said Gray, slightly annoyed. He was slowly starting to get on his nerves. Why does Natsu always have to meddle in things that are not his own? - "I asked Juvia ,not you Icy-pants" said Natsu teasingly. Jeez what's wrong with Droopy eyes today , he just asked a simple question. - "Calm down both of you "- said Lucy. She didn't like where this conversation was going. -'' Lucy is right, there is no point in arguing....Natsu if you really want to know, Juvia was born in the town of Tempeville, in the south - said Juvia, trying to calm down quickly. - "Oh, I've never heard of that place," Natsu said, surprised. Looks like there's a lot of towns he didn't know about. - "See, I told you so,"- said Gray. "Now if you'll excuse us, we have a train to catch. their faces. - "Gee..Buddy..you don't have to be so rude," - said Max. - "My God… what's with you?- whispered Lisanna - "Exactly Gray, what kind of behavior is that? "- Erza asked in a stern tone- "If you don't want Natsu to come with you, just tell him politely. The Devil Slayer wanted to disappear... It wasn't supposed to be like this. He turned his gaze towards his fiancée, silently asking for any kind of rescue. However, he was met with the same horrified gaze. After a moment, the girl bowed her head slightly and said to the rest of the guild. -"Everyone , please forgive us, especially Gray. I don't know what's going on with him lately...." - ' Huh ?'- Gray must have heard that wrong….There is no way... -"....He's been very tired and stressed lately, probably because of work, that's why we decided to go on vacation…..Juvia didn't know what to do...." said Juvia, brilliantly pretending to be distraught. 'Stop making me out to be some kind of aggressive freak,' Gray shouted in his mind 'Juvia is sorry but this is kinda your fault'- thought blunette , while taking a look at her lover. - "Relax Juvia, you don't have to apologize to us... To be honest Natsu tried to force his way into your trip" - said Lucy, looking at her partner with an annoyance. - Sorry Juvia….-said the pink haired boy meekly-"...but the ice princess can kiss my ass. I won't apologize to him.." -he added quietly. - "It honestly sounds like an excuse to leave you alone so you can shag in peace" -said Cana under her breath. She wanted to add something else but then she felt a murderous gaze of the black-haired man and decided to shut up. -"True!"- added Gajeel, receiving a look full of indignation from his best friend. -"That's so MANLY" - "How could you blame them though….." -laughed Macao. -"GOODBYE !" - shouted Fullbuster blushing furiously ,as he headed straight to the door, dragging his equally embarrassed lover with him. A very amused girl could not stop laughing for a while , until they got on the train and they sat down in one of the wagons. Otome characters you might like according to your OM! favourite (Lucifer, Asmo and Belphie)

I'm going to include both paid and free otome games. I'm also going to mention some games that aren’t otomes but have dating sim stuff (i.e Fire Emblem). This post is only my opinion and based on the games I've played. I hope these work as recommendations for you!

Lucifer

Hijikata Toshizo (Hakuouki): Hijikata is the first commander of the Shinsengumi, a short-tempred, but intelligent man. He is the most mature character from the main cast. Hijikata is very strict with the other commanders, who are very chaotic just like the demon brothers, and the protagonist, whom he distrusts at first. He also has a close relationship (though without any implications) with the Shinsengumi leader, similar to Diavolo. He lacks some of the kinky stuff Luci has, but leaving that aside, Hijikata might be a good route to play.

Jumin Han (Mystic Messenger): Jumin is a CEO who likes cats a bit too much. He is cold and centered on his work. The only close relationship he has is with the leader of the charity organization he belongs to, who is his best friend, and lacks any romantic experience. I would say Jumin is much less developed than Lucifer regarding to social interactions. Also, one of the characters has a strong distaste (which seems to be one-sided) for him. When you enter into his route, he is possesive, but in a slightly different way than Lucifer, more...over-protective. However, in some instances, he can have the same style of possesiveness as Lucifer. If you don’t mind he is less assertive, Jumin could be a very decent alternative.

Xander (Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest): Xander isn’t from an otome, so he  doesn’t have as much romantic stuff, but he is the most similar character to Lucifer, story and character-wise imo. Xander is the crown prince of the country of Nohr, a stoic and wise man. He is the older brother of the royal family, so he has to assume all the responsabilities, taking questionable decisions and pushing away his own feelings in order to maintain peace and protect his family. The relationship with one of his siblings, Leo, is similar to the one Lucifer has with Satan (post Satan arc). Xander has also a very complicated relationship with his father: to keep it spoiler-free, let’s just say he is what would have happened if Lucifer hadn’t rebelled against God. 

Nobunaga Oda (Ikemen Sengoku): A charismatic and intelligent warlord who is trying to unify Japan.  Very bold with the MC. He basically wants to own her, winning Go matches and claiming a part of her body with each victory. It sounds somewhat fucked up at first, but tbf it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Nobunaga isn’t as strict as Lucifer, but when the moment comes he can be very serious. 

I haven’t played it, but...I’ve been told that Victor from My Love’s Queen Choice, Jumin and Lucifer form the holy trinity of sugar daddies in mobile otomes. Chikage Kazama from Hakuouki isn't that similar to Luci, but he has some points his fans could enjoy a lot (he is one of my favourite LIs)

Asmodeus

None of these recommendations are as kinky as Asmo, sorry I don't play many +18 otomes. I still hope you like them Dx

Karma and Rumpel (Cinderella Phenomenon): I think both might work for someone who likes Asmo. First, Rumpel is quite a flirt. He has a curse that provokes him amnesia, but that doesn't stop him from trying to charm beautiful women. Then we have Karma, who has a curse that makes women fall in love with him, so he usually dresses as one to not attract them. He isn't that much of a flirt, but he is quite narcissistic. Put both in the same room, what could go wrong? Both characters end up having a decent depth and growth, so if you are one of those people who wants Asmo to be more than his quirks, you are probably going to enjoy them a lot.

Zen (Mystic Messenger): At first a narcissistic actor, then the most supportive and sweet character from all Mystic Messenger (and also the most stable). I would say he subverts the archetype of the flirt/narcissist in otomes. He has a past and context explaining why is he like that, and his route makes a twist with the rival in love with him. If you want a different focus of the archetype Zen is a really good option for you.

Ikki (Amnesia):  Ikki has a special charm that attracts women. This charm will cause the protagonist in Amnesia to get into lots of problems with people who are totally in love with him. He isn’t narcissistic nor a flirt, but if you are interested in a story about how might be dating Asmo with the consequences of his powers in other people, Ikki's route could interest you.

Yuri (Nameless): Yuri has also a charm that makes people being attracted to him. However, it isn't as exaggerated as Ikki or Asmo especially because all the main characters in Nameless attract a lot of people. He is a flirt and narcissist, practically at the same level as Asmo (I had a lot of fun with his moments). Imo, he is the most intelligent person in the game, and reads quite well the other characters. In his route we will learn more about his behavior, and he will be forced to grow and leave behind his attitude.

Sylvain from Fire Emblem Three Houses and Jiyeon from Dandelion  might also be good recommendations, it’s just that they are a bit more...controversial.

Belphie

These characters are very spoilery, I'll try my best to explain why you might like them.

Unknown (Mystic Messenger): A twin, just like Belphie. Both have violent episodes, even trying to hurt the protagonist. They direct their hate to certain characters, whom they consider responsibles of their miserable situation. At heart, they are really kind and sensitive, but have changed because of their circunstances. I would say Unknown's route doesn't portray him as well as the rest of the game, but regardless you might enjoy it if you like Belphie.

“Nameless” (Nameless): Okay, this one quite spoilery, I'll try to explain it without saying much. Belphie's situation? Imagine it but worse, with nobody knowing where you are and not being able to try anything to escape. Then combine his hate for humans and his love for Lilith, and you'll have the complicated feelings this character has towards the protagonist of Nameless. For me, he is literally Belphie, just much more dramatic and dark...

Monshiro (Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly): if the character before is a darker Belphie, this is a lighter Belphie. All the characters in Psychedelica are trapped in a mansion with monsters inside. This mysterious man appears to help the protagonist to fight them at certain times. Even if the rest of characters are very suspicious of him, he seems to be kind and calm, to the point he doesn't appear to know much about the situation the main characrers are involved in. When we continue advancing through the story, we will learn his real identity, and the sad truth about him. There is also another important similarity with Belph, but, spoilers.

Yeonho (Nameless): Like you can guess from the other character, Nameless is darker than other otomes. Yeonho is a sweet boy, very dependant on the protagonist. He is shy, and doesn't like to socialize with people, even if he is quite popular in his class. When you enter into his route, he becomes a little bit obssesive, and some of his endings are terrifying. If you are a masochist like me enjoy being alert with a sweet character that could break in any moment, Yeonho's route is for you.

I would want to recommend another character from Nameless, who I think has some points that could remind of Belphie, but given that this is not apparent at first, I'll let you discover by yourselves if you play the game.

I wouldn't consider them that similar, but Ukyo from Amnesia is quite the Belphie experience. If I had to pick an only route among otome games I would pick this one. Totally recommended. Kei Okazaki from Collar x Malice has also some quirks Belphie fans might enjoy.

Chapter 8.) Love Me Like You Do.

It had been a week since her first dream about Trent.

And Naia was sleeping in Roman’s arms, dreaming about Trent again. They were running through the woods together with reckless abandon. They were wolves. Bounding through the woods on all fours. And when Naia reached the edge of the woods she looked back to see if he was still behind her, but she saw nothing but darkness. She didn’t know where he was. She frantically looked around for him but he was gone. When she called out to him he never responded.

That’s when she woke up gasping for air and in a cold sweat. Something that hadn’t happened since coming to Hunt’s Peak. She had just sat up and was getting her head out of the fog it was in, when she felt Roman’s hand on her shoulder.

“Are you alright Beloved?” He asks.

“Huh? Yeah. I-I’m okay.” She replied trying to downplay how and what she was feeling.

“Your heart is racing. Are you sure that you’re okay?” He asked.

“Yes. It was just a nightmare. I promise I’ll be fine.” She replies.

Roman knew something was wrong but he decided not to press the issue.

“You should rest Beloved.”

“I will. No need to worry.”

She grabbed Gino from off the floor and snuggled him close as Roman’s arms wrapped around her.

“Not so tight!”

Roman raised his head.

“You’ll squish Gino.”

He groaned.

“I do not understand why you are so attached to that thing.”

“Well if you didn’t want me to have him…you shouldn’t have given him to me.”

She snickered as he rolled his eyes. She settled in his arms and was soon fast asleep.

The next morning Naia was with Layla helping her with laundry for the Pack.

“Thank you so much for the help. It would’ve taken me hours to get all this done.” Layla told her.

“No problem. I’m surprised that the Pack believes in washing machines.”

“You do NOT want to know how hard it was or how long it took me to convince them.”

The two shared a laugh as they folded blankets. When Naia reached for one another blanket, Layla cautioned her.

“You might want to be careful with that one.”

“Why?” Naia asks.

“Because that one is Roman’s.” Layla replies.

“Ohhhhhh.”

“Yeah. He rarely lets me wash it.”

“Why? It’s just a blanket.”

“It was his mother’s. It never leaves the den unless he allows it.”

“He told me about her. Sounds like he really loved her.”

“Yeah he did and still does. Roman is the quintessential mama’s boy.”

Naia laughed.  

“Just don’t tell him I said that.”

“Don’t worry. My lips are sealed.”

“Good. Because he’d be pretty pissed at me if he knew I said that about him.”

“Even if it’s true?” Naia asked.

“Especially because it’s true!” Layla replies.

The two shared another laugh.

“Tell me about his mother. All I know is that her name is Delia.”

Layla went quiet as she considered how to answer.

“Ms. Delia was a joy to be around. She was fair and stern and always loving. Even after she married and mated with Roman’s father, she continued on to be a school teacher. She cared for the Pack. Maybe even more than Xander ever did. She was as protective as she was funny. She’s one of the reasons why I’m loyal to them as well.”

“Did she welcome you?” Naia asks.

“Oh yeah. She welcomed anyone to the Pack. Even though some Pack members thought it was a mistake.” Layla replies.

“Why would they think that welcoming others is a mistake?” She asks.

“Because the Pack is an old guard. And many believe in its old and kinda outdated ways. Many of the werewolves, especially some of the elders only look at humans like us as a means to an end. But to some like Callum and Roman, humans are and always will be welcomed and loved. Just like Ms. Delia taught them.” Layla replies.

“How was she with Roman?” Naia asks.

“She loved Roman and his siblings. But, many whispered that she always favored him because he’s the oldest and her firstborn. She always knew how to tame her son. And when she died, it nearly killed him. He was closed off for a while. And as of late, he’s just been so absorbed in his role as Alpha.” Layla replied.

“I wish I had the chance to meet her.”

“She would’ve loved you.”

“You think so?” Naia asks.

“Yup. She was always a sweet woman. Even though she lived amongst the Pack.” Layla replies.

“What was his father like?” She asked.

“When you think of Xander, think of an older, stuffier and scarier version of Roman.” Layla replies.

“Yikes! Yikes! And triple yikes!”

“Yeah…compared to his father and especially how he ran the Pack, Roman is an angel.”

“Sheesh! I’m kinda sorry I asked. “

Once they were finished with the laundry, they stopped by the furniture store to pick up a few things for the den. Then went to the local boutique for themselves.

“I love this boutique so much. I just wish I could fit in the clothes.” Layla said in a wistful tone.

“I’m sure they’ve got something in here for you.”

“You see this?” Layla asks, pointing to her very pregnant belly. “Ain’t nothing in here fitting all of this.”

Naia rolled her eyes and chuckled.

“Buuuuuuut that doesn’t mean that we can’t find something for you.”

“You just want to live vicariously through me, don’t you?” Naia asked.

“Maaaaaaaybe.” Layla replied innocently.

“Uh huh…”

After picking out a few outfits that she really liked, Naia turned her attention to the lingerie in the boutique. Using Layla’s critical eye, she narrowed her choices down to two colors red and purple.

“Well you can’t go wrong with red. It’s a classic color for a reason. But then again I really like the purple one.”

Naia tried on both and showed Layla.

“Well damn Miss America! Who knew you could twirl like that?” She teased.

Naia rolled her eyes good naturedly.

“So…which one should I get?” Naia asked her.

“Split the difference and get both. Especially if you want to make Roman drool.” Layla replied.

“Oh no honey! Never buy lingerie for a man. Always do it for yourself. But you are right I think I’m gonna get both.”

“Of course I’m right! Now go pay for them so we can go get some food. We’re starving!”

After paying for her new clothes and getting food, Naia and Layla were back at the den rearranging and organizing the kitchen. With the Pack out on a hunt, Naia took the initiative to freshen the room she was given. She figured she’d deal with Roman and his opinion later. She had just finished redecorating the bedroom when he walked in.

“What did you do?” He asks.

“Made this more of a bedroom and less of a cold, sterile cave with a bed in it.” She replies.

He gives her a lopsided look.

“What? Gino likes it.”

“Gino can’t speak.”

“He still likes it.”

“Gino is a toy.”

“Well I say he likes it!” She huffed.

He shakes his head and smirks at her. She could feel his victory through their bond.

“How was the hunt?” She asked after clearing her throat.

“It was highly successful. How was your day in town?” He asks.

“Good. We got the laundry done and did a little shopping. Well I shopped, Layla watched.” She replies.

“What did you buy?” He asks.

“A little gift for myself.” She replies.

He raises an expectant eyebrow.

“If you must know, I bought lingerie.”

“Hmmmm I see.”

She watched Roman as he took a look at what she had done around the room. When his eyes fell on his mother’s blanket laying on the bed, his gaze softened. He sat down and held the blanket in his hands. She sat down next to him.

“Layla told me that it was your mother’s.”

“It was. She made it herself.”

“She was a quilter?” She asks.

“Yes. She was also a school teacher.” He replies.

“Layla told me that.”

“What else did Layla tell you?” He asks.

“That you really loved her and that you miss her.” She replies.

“She’s right. Mother was an angel. There isn’t a day where I don’t miss her.”

“I’m sure she’s proud of you Roman. Wherever she is.”

He smiled softly at her.

“Gino was right. What you’ve done is…nice.”

She chuckled softly before laying her head on his shoulder.

“If you don’t like it, I can always change it.”

“No. I want this to be as much of a home for you as possible. And if changing things around and adding things does that for you, I won’t protest.”

She felt their bond swell as they sat together. She secretly loved seeing him be vulnerable with her. After a few moments, he put the blanket down.

“Will you come with me?” He asks her. “There’s something I want to show you.”

“Sure. Where are we going?” She replies.

“You’ll see.”

He led her along the north side of the woods towards a field.

“I don’t see anything.”

“Just watch Beloved.”

Beside her Roman had transformed into his wolf form. After hearing him let out a commanding and slightly startling howl, she watched as a pack of actual wolves came through the tall grass. She counted at least 7 adult wolves as Roman changed back into his human form.

As they approached she hid behind Roman.

“Yipe!”

“They won’t harm you Beloved.”

“If it’s all the same to you, I’d rather not take the chance of finding out.”

She watched him as he knelt down to greet the Alpha of the pack. The wolves greeted him like they were greeting an old friend. Roman nodded to the alpha to meet Naia.

“I promise you, you’re safe Beloved. Come meet Kuvo.”

Naia knelt beside him and held out her palm for Kuvo to sniff. After sniffing her palm, Kuvo walked around sniffing the rest of her before headbutting her shoulder affectionately.

“Hi Kuvo.” She said as he nuzzled her. Kuvo looked to his pack then the adults took off. Leaving the pups behind.

“Where are they going?” She asks.

“To hunt.” He replies.

“So we’re babysitting?”

“Yes. I thought you’d like to see what Gino would look like if he was real.”

“Look at you. Jealous of a toy.”

He rolled his eyes as they walked to where the pups were playing. As they got closer the pups ran to Roman, nearly tackling him when he sat down.

“You’re covered in pups. You know that right?” She said as she snickered. She sat down close to him and one of the smaller pups ran up to her.

“Hi there little one! You are absolutely adorable.” She said as she nuzzled the pup in her arms. She rubbed behind the pup’s ears as she watched the other pups climb all over Roman.

“You look natural Beloved.”

She blushed.

“Thank you.”

He nodded to the pups and they went from climbing all over him to swarming Naia.

He watched as she giggled and pups yipped.

“Oh my God! I should’ve been born an octopus because I clearly don’t have enough arms!” She said as she giggled and tried to pet and pick up as many pups as she could. When she finally got up and tried to walk away, the pups followed behind her.

“I feel like a mother!” She giggled.  

“You look like one.”

Just then an adult wolf came out of the field. The pups ran straight to the wolf and led the wolf to them.

“Who’s that?” She asks.

“That’s their mother, Oma.” He replied.

He knelt in front of her then allowed her to nuzzle and lick him. When Oma turned to Naia, she was holding one of the pups. Oma cautiously walked towards Naia, who had her hand stretched out to her. Oma sniffed her hand then licked her palm. While the pup ran off to play with its siblings, Oma laid down next to Naia with her head in her lap.

“Hello Oma. Your pups are the cutest little things.” She said to Oma as they watched the pups play. She rubbed behind Oma’s ears Roman sat down on the other side of Oma.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Of course.”

“Why did you bring me here?” She asks.

“Because I wanted you to see why I protect these lands. These wolves are some of the most endangered in the country. And not just from SEP  but poachers as well. It is my duty to protect them. And it’s getting increasingly difficult to do so.” He replies.

“Why is that?” She asks.

“Because if SEP gets their hands on this land, they’ll tear it all down to build mines. Which will drive Kuvo and his pack further away from here and right into the hands of poachers.” He replies. His tone hid a calm fury.

“They’d turn all of this into mines? What kind of mines?” She asks.

“Coal.” He replies.

Naia shuddered at his words.

“I hope you see why I must fight against these evils. I am Alpha. It is my job to protect and defend.”

“I do understand why you fight so hard.”

“I hope you will be at my side as I fight for this land.”

“As your mate you mean.”

Roman smirked.

“Yes. I would love for you to be my mate. But only if you want to be.”

Naia snuggled Oma as she considered his words. In the distance a howl was heard and returned by Oma and the pups.

“What’s going on?” She asks.

“It’s Kuvo. The hunt is over and was a success.” He replies as he looks out to the distance. Oma rises and goes with the pups to meet Kuvo and the other wolves. They watched as the wolves shared the kill.

“That’s a huge deer!” She exclaimed.

“Indeed. This is what it means to be an alpha. Kuvo excels at his duty as alpha.”

“So do you. Don’t ever forget that.”

Roman smiled softly at her. He noticed that she was shivering.

“Are you cold?” He asks.

“Just a little bit.” She whispered.

She felt his arms wrap around her. He was trying to use his body heat to keep her warm.

“Thank you Roman. I feel better.”

“Good. Now come. It’s getting late and you should rest.”

“But I’m not—“ she said before letting out a giant yawn.

“You were saying?” He teased.

She huffed then smirked.

“I do miss Gino. He’s probably lonely without me.”

“Yes…I’m sure that a toy is very lonely.”

She snickered as they began to walk back to the den. As she crawled into bed, she saw Roman getting ready to leave.

“You’re leaving?” She asked.

“Yes. Do not worry I will be back.” He told her.

She felt her heart start to ache. She didn’t want to be away from him.

“Don’t go.”

“I must Beloved.”

“Stay with me.”

He sat across from her as she clung to Gino.

“Beloved…”

“Roman please…”

I have to say, I REALLY loathe the math/cor/jam triangle that is forming. apparently it will be james who'll tell cordelia that math is no better than her father (cordelia SHOULD know what she is getting herself into/be cautioned; my issue here is JAMES doing the warning. that's your BEST FRIEND/parabatai, why are you even discussing his issues with someone else, WHERE is lucie, why don't we ever actually get to SEE the strength of a parabatai bond when it's purely platonic etc) and it uncomfortably reminded me of will treating tessa like shit just to corner her later on by confessing that it would break his heart if she married jem. it's that disregard, the selfishness that tries to masquerade as selflessness. cassie said too that the math/grace kiss will be making a comeback and I don't see james reacting gracefully. math is no saint but so far the herondales have had a history of treating their love interest AND parabatai like shit (kit and cecily serving as notable exceptions and no, kit's outburst + his leaving ty is lot more complicated and nuanced than fandom cares to acknowledge bc everyone is so set on infantilising and/or blindly absolving ty instead of acknowledging that they both were put in an impossible situation and fucked up but that's a different discussion lol). bottom line being that I dislike how herondales treat their One True Love and best friend yet it's always the characters around them that end up with the short stick lmao.

But I don't see how James is the one who will tell Cordelia about Matthew's issues? Also, James doesn't know anything about Elias. And if he does, it's probably about that he's in prison. I highly doubt James will compare his parabatai, one of his closet people, to a man who can be a criminal just because he's jealous. Besides, he doesn't see Matthew's alcoholic addition as that serious issue - at that time it really wasn't viewed as such. (Also, the Merry Thieves (except Thomas) are minors who regularly drink alcohol in the Devil Tavern - it was something normal at the time and no one view Matthew's drinking as a problem. Cassie explained it once)

However, I think it's very unfair of you anon to be angry at James for something he hasn't done. Yes, he could, I suppose, but I have never thought he would be the one warning Cordelia for Matthew. I don't know why you think that. (Again, if there is a scene where James talks about Matthew's issues with Cordelia, let me know, I want to read it and decided for myself).

But really, where is Lucie? It makes me sad but I admit - the parabatai bonds so far are very disappointing.

Ok, I kind of agree that Herondales have such history *looking at Jace and Will*. I just don't remember when Cassie said the kiss will make comeback? But I'm gonna trust you in this one, I doubt that it would so easily dismissed anyway. Also, for James' reaction - I think it depends if he's with the bracelet or not. And he would have the right to not react "gracefully" - from his point of view his parabatai kissed the girl he's in love it. He has no idea Matthew was forced to do it. Hell, even Matthew doesn't know. I think he would has every right to feel betrayed.

Also, I totally agree about what you say about KitTy situation. They both fucked up and no one should take sides - but this really is different discussion, ajaha.
