“Car Thief, 22, Sent to ‘Pen’,” Windsor Star. October 18, 1938. Page 5. ---- ONE-YEAR TERM --- 2 Pals Remanded ---- Harry LePage, 22. of Ottawa, was today sentenced to one year determinate and three months indeterminate in the Ontario Reformatory on an auto theft, charge. The youth pleaded guilty to the charge in county police court and was sentenced by Magistrate Hanrahan. 

LePage also confessed to having stolen $3 worth of gasoline from a Maidstone garage operated by Edward O'Neil. The three months he received on that count will run concurrently with the other sentence. 

Douglas Day and John Whitfield, 19-year-old London youths, who also pleaded guilty to similar charges, were remanded a week for sentence. The trio admitted stealing the car of Fred Sorrell, of Leamington, on September 29. 

The Ottawa youth is the only on-of the three with a police record. Dating back to 1933, his career of crime included six convictions for theft and three for vagrancy. He has already served terms in reformatory and Kingston Penitentiary.
