But yeah, you are 100% right. After he picked up the ring, it was complete chaos. At least once a day, Quinn would be like "fuck it i love her so much, I can't wait." And he'd be down on one knee, and Jack and luke would look absolutely horrified and immediately spring into action.

Tackling him to the floor, throwing a glass of water in his face, yanking his leg out from under him, jabbing him with their cue stick, literally anything they could think of. Because Quinn was a perfectionist and a romantic. He would've never forgiven himself if he proposed while the atmosphere wasn't perfect, and both Jack and Luke knew that.

One time, Jack and Luke weren't home, and you and Quinn were chilling on the beach, having a little picnic. You swiped ice cream off of Quinns lip and licked it off your thumb without a thought, and then Quinn was kneeling, and by the grace of whatever higher power there was, Ellen happened to be walking by. The situation was unfolding in slow motion, and Ellen was panicking a little. She did the only thing she could think of, and pushed Quinn into the water.

You had laughed your ass off because one minute you and Quinn were chilling and eating ice cream, and the next Ellen was sprinting in the sand and pushing Quinn into the lake. As you were laughing, she took her opportunity to push you in the lake as well, much to your surprise. She then ran away, cackling, while you and Quinn sat in the shallow water ice cream-less.

After the boat incident, Jack made the executive decision that he would be keeping the ring until the date Quinn actually planned to propose rolled around. Unfortunately, that didn't stop Quinn from kneeling and starting to ask the question.

Jack bought an Airhorn. Actually, he bought five or six. He kept one for himself, gave one to Luke, and left a few around the lakehouse. One om the boat, one in the pool room etc. That way, even if the two of them weren't around, someone could intervene if need be.

At first you questioned what the fuck was going on, and why someone was always blaring an airhorn at Quinn. Eventually, you brushed it off as little siblings being little siblings.

That time around the campfire, somehow both Luke and Jack had forgotten their trusty airhorns, and suddenly Luke was tackling Quinn the the ground, and Jack was screaming about a bee. To this day, everyone who was around the campfire still tries to gaslight you about the bee.

Until Jack revealed the whole story in his best man speech. You laughed your ass off while Quinn's cheeks grew flushed, and he smiled sheepishly.

I will set the scene: Lando and Oscar are in their second year as teammates, now, and they’re proper friends, right? Much closer than they were the year before. Time to…. meet the family?

Meddling Nicole. We know now that she will canon throw her son under the bus and expose him for a little laugh. She also knows that Oscar has been maybe a little obsessed with Lando for years, and getting to know him as a teammate has not dulled Lando’s shine for Oscar at all. He’s actually worse. Tries to be really lowkey about it, not bringing up Lando too often, only mentioning him when he feels it’s relevant, but Nicole can tell by the change in his voice when he talks about Lando, the way he edges Lando into conversations he doesn’t really NEED to be in. Anyway. A few weeks ahead of the Australian GP she’s on a call with Oscar and is like “You should bring Lando round when he’s here, honey. Have him stay a night, we’d love to meet him properly.” And Oscar is like… oh. uh. Yeah. Sure.

In what world is Lando going to say no to Oscar on that when Oscar’s got his soft Lando Smile on and he’s like “just for a night, my mom really wants you to”?

The day after the race perhaps? Because Lando podiums and Carlos wins so they go out and Lando is perhaps a little hungover and cranky when he arrives, but immediately goes soft for Oscar. He’s headachy and tired and reaches for Osc as soon as he’s in the doorway, wrapping his free arm around Oscar’s back and resting in the hug for a long, long second. They’re speaking in soft little private voices to one another and giggling and Oscar is smiling his hopeless, besotted smile, and Lando’s eyes are sparkling even through the hangover exhaustion. And then “Lando, so glad you could make it!” and they spring apart and Lando rubs at his cheek with his palm and Oscar rolls his eyes at his mum and gives Lando a little squeeze around the wrist as apology.

“Let me take your bags, Oscar can show you around a bit and you can get some lunch in you.”

They’d hang out all day, maybe with Oscar’s sisters (who love Lando obviously bc they can all team up on Oscar together), perhaps kicking around outside or whatever.

Dinner has Meet the Family (tm) vibes where Oscar’s parents are quizzing Lando about his own family and racing and how Oscar is at work. And maybe there’s some food Lando doesn’t eat and he feels really bad and is stressed but Oscar is like “you don’t have to eat that. Mum, I told you Lando doesn’t eat seafood.” Very Romantic. Very Domestic.

Afterwards, they all convene in the living room to play a game or something and Lando doesn’t understand the rules and doesn’t have the attention span to learn so he’s like “I’ll just be on a team with Oscar.” Except he’s really just leaning into Oscar’s side, looking at the cards but mostly just Oscar’s hands, and watching Oscar play. Eventually he kind of catches the gist and makes a suggestion about something right at Oscar’s ear, lips brushing skin, and the move… works? And Oscar is like “thanks, mate” all soft and Lando is like “I’d say we make pretty good teammates, yeah? someone should hire us that way” and yawns and smirks at the way it makes everyone giggle.

Eventually Lando starts nodding off against Osc’s shoulder, everyone’s talking and laughter warm around him. After it sticks, Lando’s cheek smushed against Oscar’s bicep, Oscar’s hand curled around Lando’s knee, Nicole goes “you should take that one to bed, honey, he looks exhausted.” And Oscar is like… simply why would you phrase it like that? but “okay, is he staying in the guest room?” and Nicole is like “oh! did I not tell you? we’ve got your grandmother there. huh. could have sworn I told you this. I figured Lando could just bunk with you, hope that’s alright!” and Oscar is like... well. I���m not going to make him sleep on the COUCH 24 hours after a race.

So he wakes Lando up sooooo gently and Lando blinks soft and sleepy and a little frowny because he was cozy there, actually. And everyone else feels like they’re intruding, as is prone to happen around Lando and Oscar.

Oscar apologetic explaining the situation, but Lando just shrugs and stretches and follows him up the stairs, because it won’t be the first time he’s fallen asleep in the same bed as a teammate, probably.

Oscar’s childhood bedroom hasn’t changed much since he left for boarding school, and Lando perks up once they get there so he can poke fun of Oscar about the posters and the knickknacks on his desk. And Oscar’s blushy and laughing and a little defensive, but mostly just fond fond fond having Lando in this part of his life.

They brush their teeth side by side, elbows knocking, and it’s… so domestic. Overwhelming. Oscar is scared of how easily they move around each other, Lando’s hand on the small of his back as he sneaks by to grab his face wash from the bedroom where he’d forgotten it, Oscar handing over a towel to dry Lando’s face before Lando can even ask.

Oscar’s stressed that it’s going to be awkward when it comes time to actually get in bed, but Lando just tucks himself in against the wall and curls up on Oscar’s pillow. Oscar dilly dallies a bit, but Lando huffs and pats the bed and goes “Oscar,” drawing out the last syllable, “turn off the light and come to bed, I’m tired.”

Which. Does THINGS to Oscar. But Lando asked nicely, so he flips the switch and crawls in next to Lando.

They don’t touch at first. And Oscar’s bed is only a full, so it’s like… intentional. And that lasts a few minutes. But Lando whines and pats at Oscar’s side until Oscar says “what“ and Lando’s eyes are big and soft even in the dark and he says “‘m not very comfy” with a small little smile and Oscar is… only a man. So he lifts his arm up and lets Lando crawl happily under and settle against his chest with a contented sigh. And from there it’s easy to pet Lando’s hair and let Lando practically purr into his chest about it. SOFT. CUDDLY.

Lando falls asleep almost immediately because he’s still recovering from the night before. Oscar watches his eyelashes flutter prettily and toys with his curls and strokes the side of his cheek and just. Yearns. Because Lando fits so easily here in Oscar’s life. Everything felt so natural and right. Feels even more right now, with Lando in his bed, in his arms. So Oscar presses a little self-indulgent kiss to Lando’s forehead. Except the skin wrinkles beneath his lips and Lando’s fingers flex where they’re tucked against Oscar’s waist. Lando’s eyes crack open and he looks. so! soft! but Oscar’s heart is racing because he just really, really thought Lando was fast asleep.

Lando doesn’t look mad, but he doesn’t really look anything discernible at all in the dim light filtering through Oscar's window. Mostly he just looks sleepy. From a distance, Oscar hears the familiar sound of the air-con kicking on.

“‘s nice,” Lando says after too long, eyes fluttering back closed. There's a little smile turning the corners of his lips up and his nose twitches a little where it's rested above the collar of Oscar's loose pajama shirt. He doesn't normally wear one, but he'd figured, given the circumstances, that it would be best to.

Emboldened again, Oscar places another light kiss, just to the left of the first. Lando's smile grows with it, and he turns his face into Oscar's chest, like he's bashful about it. Oscar wonders, if he turned his bedside lamp on, whether Lando's cheeks would be pink with his attention.

"Keep going," Lando says. Mostly breath, eyes still shut.

"Yeah?" Oscar's not sure what they're doing, where they're going with it, but it's been 18 months and he hasn't learned how to say no to Lando yet, so he puts his lips next to Lando's eyebrow, on the bridge of his nose. He pauses after that, and when he breathes in, he swears he can taste his own toothpaste on Lando's exhale.

"Os-car," Lando sing-songs. Oscar doesn't think it's fair, how Lando gets to hide behind his eyelids while they do this. Whatever it is.

"Lando," he gives Lando a scratch between the shoulder blades, "look at me."

It's bolder than he normally is, bolder than he feels, still, but it gets Lando to crack his eyes open. Lando's still smiling, but it's a little tighter again.

Oscar's heart is beating hard. He remembers suddenly, absurdly out of place, that he'd lost his virginity in this bed. He thinks that was easier.

"Are we doing this?"

Lando's fingers twitch at his side. Oscar can't tell whether they're curling into his side or into Lando's own palm.

"I mean," he's at least properly awake again, "yeah. If you want to. I want to."

Oscar's pulse hasn't slowed down. It feels like a final flying lap, one shot to get everything just right.

"I want to," Oscar confirms, "But not just to do it."

"Like how?" Lando says. He props himself up on his arm so he's looking down at Oscar. Oscar's hand falls to the small of his back. Keeping him close.

"Like not just to kiss, or whatever. Like I want to because I like you. And you're important to me. So I don't want to make things weird if it's not like that for you."

Something changes in Lando's gaze, and Oscar thinks it should probably be a look he hasn't seen before, but instead it's familiar, the way it settles over both of them.

"Os-car," Lando says in that same tone from before, "I'm in your fucking twin bed. Your sisters added me to a group chat while you were at the bathroom this afternoon. I learned a card game for you." He lifts his free hand to run a thumb under Oscar's eye, "It's weirder that I've done all that before we got here."

Oscar thinks that's a yes, but he has to be sure, so he catches Lando's fingers in his hand and brushes his lips over them.

"So?" Oscar says.

"So," says Lando, "your mum is going to be so happy when you tell her."

Like qualifying on pole. Like coming home. Lando kisses him.

And then every member of Oscar's family teases them endlessly and it's sooooo fluffy and cute and domestic xoxo the end

How do Vernias and brent take care of bad customers like oddly annoying and angry ones?

Here is my brainstorming session (that helped me establish some stuff once again, yay! /gen) let me know if it fits them and what ideas y'all have! I'd be happy to hear them! ( ´⁠꒳⁠` )

I think Brent just rolls his eyes at very annoying customers, too tired for their possible bullshit. He would just push through it, prepare the very specific orders and additional changes with gritted teeth and the most fake smile a man could carry. (He'd text Eevee about it later, letting all his frustration out and ranting to him about it. Eevee's there for him, maybe suggests Brent call him or play something together, and Brent has never felt so seen and heard. It helps him deal with those kinds of customers, and people in general.)

Vern i'd say doesn't mind annoying people too much - maybe he tries to see the human behind them regardless of how much they can get on someone's nerves. Vernias' goodwill and kindness may even result in the customer loosening up a little and they mumble "Sorry for the inconvenient fuss..." as they scratch their neck before they leave. (And Brent is surprisingly shocked like "... How did you do that?" "Honestly? ...I have no idea.")

Brent would get negatively affected by angry people visiting the Café immediately most of the time. (Or he'd laugh it off cuz he thinks it's pathetic and he's too tired. May also depend on his mood i think). Like, he would be close to starting a lighthearted argument or lose his cool when he gets too frustrated/annoyed on a bad day or when his lack of sleep kicks in. The heavy sighs and eyerolls wouldn't be enough because he'd get more and more frustrated.

Brent pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation and sighed. He opened his mouth, ready to spit something very unfriendly at the costumer-

Then Vernias stepped in. A warm smile on his face as he gently put a hand on Brent's shoulder that Brent wanted to shrug off, but didn't.

Vernias could handle those situations/people best, I think. He would start trying to calm the angry customer, and if that won't do it, he will just stay quiet and prepare their order. He'd still try to be nice and even smile at them.

Brent stays silent while he represses the urge to mumble to himself in aggravation as he turns his back to them or goes to clean tables (that are already clean). He will complain/rant about it once the customer leaves. (He will also tell Eevee about it :3 If they know each other already that is)

If things get out of hand, he will not hesitate to jump in to calm any kind of situation. He doesn't kick people out, never raises his voice; he tries to be understanding with them instead. The way he handles and diffuses situations always fascinates Brent and Vernias and makes them look up to him. He just has a way with soothing people and easing bad tension. What else can be expected from a former police officer?

Adored Feels Like Home! I feel like Jack would buy an engagement ring after a month of dating (like Jim from the Office for reference lol). Not to propose with, but just because he knows.

Ngl, I've never watched the office so o don't get the reference 😭😭 but you are absolutely right.

He calls Quinn a month after you've officially been dating. He's rambling, and Quinn can barely make out what he's saying. In good old brotherly fashion he threatens to hangup because, well- he's a busy guy.

Then he catches the words ring and love and marriage and he's all like "woah woah woah, slow down Jackie, i dont think i heard that right so im gonna need you to repeat that"

Jack slowly repeats what he said. That he loves you and he knows you're the one, and he can't wait to marry you, and he just picked up the ring, and if he didn't tell someone he would implode.

At this point, Quinn hasn't even met you. But as an older brother, sometimes he just knows.

And he knows that Jack is right about you. He can hear it in jacks voice.

Because before this ask, I didn't really think about those aspects about Skill & Spill! So thank you for making me brainstorm some more, it really helped me to establish the pc and other things for the AU some more! Long yap yap answer under the cut (⁠＾⁠∇⁠＾⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠♪

💜💚🩷🧡 Their designs/appearances:

💜 Eevee wears a long purple coat, it's like his trademark. Depending on the day and time, he wears fancy attire (a shirt and a vest) or some cozy clothes under it. Fancy attire because he works as a freelance creative developer and often meets with game developers/studios. (I will go in depth about this in a different post :3). He wears his glasses most of the time and is surprised when he finds out Brent wears glasses as well.

💚 Brent in this AU is known for a style that reminds of high school nerds in a way but not too much. He wants to look tidy and neat but without being over the top. However, he doesn't care about any of that when he takes his night shifts. He has a scar slightly over his right elbow, which he got when he was a child. The scar is the result of playing on the playground as a kid and happened by a childishly accident. It is actually a fond memory of his family and happy childhood for him. Reminds him there used to be easier and brighter days in his life. He mostly wears dark blue and green clothes, the cold tones being a huge contrast to Vernias' bright colours. Vern likes to call him "The Grumpy Barista" or simply "Robot" because of his behaviour and demeanour. (I forgot he wears glasses irl lmao.) He wears his glasses when he really has to and sometimes when he takes the night shifts.

🩷 Vernias has pink hair that grows out noticeably but makes him stand out. He therefore often gets called "the pink Barista" or "Kirby Barista" and he loves it. He also wears a pastel pink shirt under his apron, which he never irons (Brent hates to see it). Casually he wears tank tops and loose pants. Vernias has a burn scar on his left arm, it's not too big but noticeable and it happened in his early days as a barista; when he burnt himself on a freshly brewed coffee by being too hectic. He also has a tiny scar on his left index finger from the metal of the coffee machine (he has no idea how it happened). Vern is just a bit too clumsy.

🧡 Nick likes to be flamboyant. He has a style that is a perfect balance between elegant, fierce and laid-back. He likes to draw attention and always walks with a certain confidence only he can harbour. He definitely stands out and it's exactly what he wants and also kind of craves. He sometimes wears his sunglasses, even when he is in a building/in the cafe. He only wears his normal glasses when situations require him to and wears more cozy clothes when he is at home.

💜💚🩷🧡 First impressions of each other:

💜 Eevee:

- he didn't like Brent's vibe at all. Brent seemed so down all the time. Met at the Cafe.

- Eevee made it his secret mission to make Brent laugh or even just smile (which he learns looks and sounds adorable and warms his heart)

- Eevee and Vern got along immediately, Vern kinda thought he was intimidating at first sight, but as soon as Eevee started to speak, they both shared a cheerful mood. They also met at the Cafe.

- Nick and Eevee have been friends since high-school, but actually hated each other in elementary school and bullied one another. They laugh about those memories nowadays and have a very good friendship.

💚 Brent:

- Eevee was annoying at first. Not in the way of bothering you, no. Eevee was annoying because he said the most random and stupid shit - and Brent liked it. Something about Eevee fascinated and yet irritated him from the start.

- Brent and Vern (many of you described them as Squidward and SpongeBob and I ??? (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠) ??? - Idk if that's a good thing?) Brent's first expression of Vernias was actually positive. Vern had an aura to him that was actually charming and helped Brent to loosen up faster than he normally would. (...he normally doesn't.) And while Brent seemed annoyed, they actually balanced each other out nicely and became a great duo in a noticeable short amount of time. Vern always tried his best to create a good mood and lighten Brent up a little, but he also stayed polite and gave him space when Brent wasn't feeling it, which Brent secretly was and is always grateful for.

- Brent and Nick clashed at first. It wasn't too bad, it was just that they couldn't really communicate with each other well. But there has always been a silent mutual understanding in a way both of them don't quite understand till this day.

🩷 Vernias:

- He saw Brent and immediately asked himself "what an awful life did this man live until this point?" Because Brent looked like a tired cat that didn't care about anything anymore. Vern didn't know how to handle Brent at first, but he tried his best and acted nice yet polite towards Brent in the first shifts they shared together. (Vernias was the one who showed Brent everything and trained him and such, like Brent was his trainee.)

- Eevee came into the Cafe for the first time and Vernias thought he was getting robbed. (Cuz Eevee wore a huge ass grin and his purple coat just stands out.) But then Eevee just stumbled over his words as he tried to order something way too sweet, and Vern immediately knew the guy was chill. Vern randomly dropped "purple suits you really well!" Before Eevee left the cafe. He thinks about this random compliment he gave Eevee everyday.

- Vernias had mixed feelings when he saw Nick for the first time. He had noticed Nick in the streets many times before, but when Nick entered the Cafe for the first time when Vernias had an early shift, Vern was frustrated by how Nick carried himself all high and mighty. And then Nick acted like he was the ruler of the town and the owner of the shop, leaning on the counter and pulling his sunglasses down slightly to look directly into Vernias' eyes. Bi panic endured for some seconds, but he registered the order that also sounded like an order. "I get a large cappuccino with three sugar and almond milk." - Eevee is his ride or die. He hates and loves the dude but hates the fact that Eevee does not seem to know the meaning of the terms "privacy" and "boundaries". They bullied each other in elementary school but are inseparable since high-school. They spend a little less time together in real life nowadays, but are still very best friends. Though Nick sometimes wants to hit Eevee on the head.

- Like i said, him and Brent didn't really get along at first but shared a silent connection and mutual understanding. Both of them were(are) secretly tired but act differently about it. They frowned at each other on their first encounter.

- Vernias was looking way too cheerful for his taste - and the fact that he was also behaving so cheerful was not helping. He ordered his cappuccino casually and Vernias just smiled at him brightly and nodded very fast, before humming a tune as he turned his back to Nick to prepare his drink. Also Nick thought Vernias' voice was way too loud (maybe because it was early in the morning, but Nick kept the impression that Vern speaks a little too loud for his taste and hearing)

Moot game: random things that remind you of your moots

starting off with the obvious, i think it’s very noticeable that if you take a chance to get to know rhin, the very things that pop up in your (my) head are: hair clips, bows (specifically those long white and pink ones), and as well as chiikawa (chiikawa gang!!). those three things combined is literally the epitome of rhin. hair clips and bows all have several different designs and i feel like rhin could be all of them.. from cute to silly, i think the variety of those things resemble rhin’s easygoing and bubbly personality! like something cute and things that are always fun to collect, you know? it’s similar to the feeling of wanting to talk and getting to know her more, which resembles the fun aspect of collecting!

now, if i were to get into something more personal or specific, to me, i would simply compare her to the moon. it’s something that no matter what place i could be at, i will always be able to see her at least once everyday, like the moon! and the moon is really pretty too, just like her! with that in mind, her presence is soothing & it gives me a message that she will always be there for me & i will always be there for her. so, without rhin, life wouldn’t be or feel the same as she is a main aspect of mines. she is something that will forever stand out and someone i could never EVER forget !! i feel like if you get to know rhin, she will become someone you can’t seem to forget either!! safe to say, we are inseparable 🫶! she will forever be one of my favorite girls, so thank you rhin for entering my life,i will forever cherish you and our friendship 🤍

starting off with the obvious, with alya, you (i) can’t help but be reminded of cats, strawberries, and usagi (chiikawa gang!!!)! alya just might be one of the biggest cat lovers i know, given how she keeps sending pictures and posting stories about them LMAO. but i feel like it’s such a alya thing so it correlates well (there’s a reason why i included a cat pic for one of her themes)! and strawberries because if i felt like strawberries were human, they’d be alya… crazy comparison but the fruit just gives off sweet and outgoing Oh yup do you get the vision?? no…? okay but either way its one of the best fruits so that makes her one of the best people i know <3

now, if i were to get into something more personal or specific, to me, she reminds me of snow. if alya is reading this, no, this is not simply about you consistently talking or sending videos about some huge snow storm brewing up in your area (maybe a little…), but also about the beauty of it all that seems to connect my thought of snow to you. snow is something delicate and it’s able to just simply make the world look more prettier and brighter. it’s something peaceful and you can’t help but take a moment to admire the snowflakes that fall. with that picture in mind, i would say that replicates what i feel like around alya perfectly! anything she says or does, specifically about what she’s been doing regarding works or life in general, i honestly (and forever will say) admire her dedication and her as a person overall. she’s just something i always want to see and always willing to look forward to be with, similar to how i feel as i wait for the next snowfall :] <3

starting off with the obvious, things that appear in my head when it comes to lili are four leaf clovers, the color light blue + cream combo (if that counts?), and han tatpung! clovers are already a given since i am truly a lucky individual to be able to be one of her friends :’) !! and the blue+cream combo is very pleasing to the eye and i just feel like those SCREAM lili… it’s just really appealing and ngl i think i only chose this because the color palette suits han tatpung, which leads to me associating him with her too ^^ and that he’s a cutie and so is she!!!! in conclusion, lili&taesan are fatez i (do not) fear!

now, if i were to get into something more personal or specific, to me, she reminds me of stars. stars are rare to see, at least for me, so whenever i do, it’s just a sight that instantly mesmerizes you. it’s something that you can’t get out of your head once you see it & you always look forward to it the next time. that’s me with lili since ever since i saw her on my feed… i was very much hooked! like when she followed and reblogged back… oh yeah i was pretty much fangirling… so, stars portray a bright light that’s very difficult to look away from, leaving you simply just looking in awe. there’s a sense of comfort of simply looking in the night sky and that’s what i feel whenever i’m with lili. it’s almost as if there’s an energy there that creates a sense of trust and calmness if that makes sense? it’s like lili is one of the very few stars that i was granted the ability (and honor) to see & hopefully she sticks around me (and in my mind) for many years to come ><

i swear every chapter makes me feel worse for regulus. he was SO underprepared to become king and he’s left filling a throne he never wanted. i know in the end he’ll be a better king than sirius could’ve but the betrayal of being abandoned and left to clean up someone else’s mess so they can be free and happy…it’s an interesting interpretation for canon black brothers too. sirius’ freedom coming at a cost only regulus can pay…it’s gut wrenching really.
