Really though, Agatha’s backstory is the embodiment of the phrase, “a child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel warmth.” But she didn’t stop with the village. Agatha’s problem really is envy and how could it not be. What sort of witch would coven with a witch who’s power is to kill them. And what sort of girl wouldn’t be jealous of others who got to be together when her own tried to kill her. Agatha is so so jealous, of witches to heal where she couldn’t, of mothers who kept their children when she lost hers, of witches who could stay together when she never had anyone except Nicky. And Rio.

The only woman Agatha could truly be with is Death herself. And death wronged her so she can’t even be with her anymore.

wait idk anything about the tevis’— why would tommy tevis call dick his son? would you be willing to give a quick rundown

After Dick failed to get himself incarcerated, he became an enforcer for a mob boss named Tommy Tevis. Tommy took Dick in and made him part of his family. Tommy considered him an honorary son and thought very highly of him.

Nightwing (Vol. 2) #107

He even told Dick that everything he had (his home, his reputation, his family, etc.) was Dick's as well. Lynette, Tommy's wife, told Dick that Tommy would let Dick do anything. The whole family loved Dick, including Tommy's 15 year old daughter, Sophia. Sophia actually had a crush on Dick, but Dick acted like an older brother to her, helping her with her homework and such.

While Dick was away from the family for a few days, the cops busted into the Tevis's home. Lynette got killed in the gunfire, Tommy got taken to jail, and Sophia got taken in by the state.

Dick, while mentoring Rose, broke Sophia out of the state home. He got Sophia to help him with the mob. Then, when Chemo fell on Bludhaven, Dick saved Sophia and left her with Amy. When they reunited at the hospital, Dick asked Sophia to leave the mob behind and join a boarding school.

So, yeah, that's Dick's relationship with the Tevis family.

Speaking of clunky writing that's bugged me for a while, I still can't believe how badly this joke was botched. The set-up is fine, but the punchline should be Sophia (or anyone, really) saying, as Isabel runs off to be first in the forest, "She does know the food here is free, right?"

OR if they really want to convey Sophia's competitive spirit that badly, she could still say the "You're on!" part of her line and someone else (probably Valentina) can say, as the two girls sprint off, "They do know the food here is free, right?"

A yandere 37 is someone that I can hardly call a Yandere, feeling more like Jessica that's the line between not having enough human communication and being obsessed.

She's extremely delusional and lovesick. She thinks everything her beloved (Sophia) does for her is in a romantic way, every time she says something, every time she helps her with an equation, and so on. She would do anything Sophia asked as well, which is mildly concerning.

It's not as obvious, no one on the island would notice a change in surface level, it's just your usual 37, but things do change once Sophia is around. Like tunnel vision, her mind and eyes are centered on Sophia, it's like she herself doesn't even notice that she's doing so.

Stalker behavior is something that she used to have, but Sophia addressed it very quickly after she noticed it. She also stopped multiple other obsessive behaviors that could have gotten dangerous quickly, props to Sophia for being smart.

There's also a lot of jealousy in her part, she wants ALL of Sophia's attention to herself, if Sophia is doing the same things she does to her to another person, 37 would feel extremely uncomfortable and angry. Before that had been addressed by Sophia, 37 would storm in and glare, dragging Sophia away with a painful grip on her arm.

It's only after Sophia told her to stop, that it hurts and it certainly wasn't a pleasant experience that 37 stopped doing so, but she's still inexplicably angered every time Sophia combs a little girl's hair, hugs a fellow friend or holds the hand of another person.

It should be her.

She's not that harmful to any extent, her personality only gets more obsessive but Sophia is no dense person, and she knows she has to deal with some behaviors before it gets significantly dangerous.

And 37 is no professional in manipulation, common sense or feelings, so she's only an obsessive and delusional person following after her beloved in a no discrete way.

She holds close to her small trinkets given to her by Sophia, we're going to gloss over the fact she might steal a couple of her clothes to hug them close at night.

And we might have to touch on the fact she gets physically intimate with Sophia (err, not sexually, more like very touchy) even when sometimes it's obvious it's a bit too much for her. 37 just wants her to be close, very, very close.

Holding hands, hugging, snuggling, occasionally touching... Intimate holding... Sophia does stop it before it goes too far, but she's never too sure how long 37's respect for her space could last.

the parallels between morrigan and the mage warden (especially one who snitched on jowan and so isn't automatically doomed if they stay in the circle) both being unceremoniously kicked out by their parental figures from the isolated nests they've been cooped up in all their lives and sent flailing out into the real world to test their wings. the love that you can read in between the lines there from irving, and even flemeth -- in both cases this is a cause of action taken partly to save their children (from the circle, from the blight, from the isolation and constriction they would be doomed to otherwise), and in both cases it also opens them up to a world of new dangers. (I wonder if irving knows how many grey warden recruits die right off the bat. from his general character I think he might take that chance even if he knew because otherwise the circle is all but inescapable, but from what he says to amell/surana at the time and how set duncan is to keep that particular detail on the down low I feel more on the side of him not being aware.)

irving at least is encouraging and explains the outlines of what he's thinking even in his hurry to get you out the door, flemeth takes the opportunity to get in a few more stabs of emotional abuse haha. but I think my amell looks at morrigan's shock and partial dismay to be sent away with them so abruptly (and despite everything, the sting of it being so easy to do on her mother's part, emotionally) and feels a sympathetic sinking in her stomach. because yeah she knows that feeling too

Just thinking about how horrid Sophia and Francis are for each other. Francis is so focused on “love will overcome any problem” he ignores the absolute massive list of reasons Sophia wouldn’t be happy with him - let alone her “nope, you’d be an unsuitable husband”. And Sophia knows she won’t ever agree on marrying him but still wants to have whatever relationship they have to go on, even though her entire family is making Francis miserable over it. But instead Francis drives himself into depression spirals over not giving up hope and Sophia accidentally sends him on a suicide mission via “well if you love me do this dumb thing for me”
