here's my 2023 art summary! (template by CainineThistles) I feel like I've improved a lot as an artist, particularly with posing and backgrounds.

Slight personal ramble under the cut:

I know I posted a lot less this year, and real talk, the back half of 2023 was really hard. I had a lot of mental health struggles, mostly relating to my coping mechanisms. I know I joke a lot about being 'chronically online' but it genuinely was a real problem. I didn't really feel like I was living my life, you know? Not to mention, basically everything I drew and wrote was for this blog. I barely created just for myself anymore. I got so consumed with trying to get my art and fics to blow up, that I kinda forgot why I started in the first place - to just have fun.

Taking time off of tumblr was huge for me. I rediscovered the joy of art and writing all over again, and tried living more in the real world. I got more involved with the people around me, and I even got into a relationship. Being present is really scary, but it also helps. I actually felt like a person for the first time in recent memory.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is don't let those fictional worlds and online numbers consume you. Try to be present and live in the real world more. I know it's cliché advice, but it seriously helped me a lot with le mental health, and there's a whole lot more going on around you than you'd think.

Anywho, here's to 2024!

Hi P, I know your blog focuses mostly on source info and Sam's love life but do you watch the show? I'm assuming you became part of the Outlander fandom because of the books or the show. Have you watched the first two episodes of Season 7?

I understand if you don't want to talk about that on your blog but I'm just curious if you did watch and your thoughts. I'm really pleased with this season so far.

Hi, Anon, I do watch Outlander and have read most of the books. I love the show. But I have to be in the right headspace to watch it, since it's so emotional and intense.

EPISODE 1: all I gotta say is top knotch acting by everyone involved.

Cait as Claire breaks my heart every time. So exceptional.

Mark Lewis Jones as Tom Christie is such a powerhouse of subtle acting at its best.

As for Sam...I won't say Sam AS Jamie...because Sam IS Jamie. He doesn't play Jamie Fraser; he literally IS Jamie Fraser. Say what you want about Sam's other acting roles, but no one can deny he was born to play James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser and he embodies him to PERFECTION.

The last scene, where he's sitting there unblinkingly fixating his gaze on Brown and then icily deadpanning "And I'm also a violent man," I literally jumped up and started clapping. That episode was an incredible start to what looks to be an amazing season.

As for EPISODE 2, I just finished watching it. I'll summarize it in emojis:

hello!! given that it is the first weekend in june, i'd like to go through everything that i read in the month of may and say if i would or would not recommend it and why. lets go !!

in chronological order of reading:

king of pride - ana huang: YES absolutely! god i loved this book. more specifically, yes i would recommend it if you like opposites attract in romance and dating, or if you like income gap relationships ( he's a billionaire, she's a struggling author ), and yes if you like incredibly hot and well written spicy scenes between characters. i honestly can't even think of a no unless you literally just hate spicy romance as a genre; even then i still think this book deserves a chance for your time. i absolutely adore this book.

2. den of vipers - k.a. knight: yes if you miss reading self-insert on wattpad and like pick me fmcs. the vipers themselves do have a lot of good character behind them, but as far as the fmc...i just really didn't like her. i did finish the entire book hoping that it would get better towards the end, but in my opinion the ending was one of the worse parts of the book and throughout it all it felt very predictable. would i generally recommend this? no. but it's definitely a hit or miss book. you'll either really like it, or not like it at all.

3. does it hurt? - h.d. carlton: yes yes yes yes yes. this was my favorite read of the month of may. i'd recommend it even more if you like witty and funny fmcs; it's sort of a dark romance version of grumpy x sunshine. it has a lot of spice and it's very creative if that makes sense? it's not just boring vanilla missionary, that's for sure. the mmcs character is phenomenal and both of them each have very full character arcs. but i wouldn't recommend it if mentions of incest and domestic abuse trigger you, or if body horror and gore triggers you.

4. never lie - freida mcfadden: yes if you're new to thrillers and want something easy to digest. definitely not if you're not new to thrillers and have read some absolutely breathtaking ones that kept you up at night. to me it had a rather predictable storyline, a twist that falls flat, and characters with absolutely zero depth or anywhere near a completed arc. i really did not like this book at all. also yes if you like a quick read; this didn't take me very long to get through.

5 + 6. there are no saints / there is no devil [ sinner's duet ] - sophie lark: yes if you like a "beginner" dark romance that doesn't stray too far into depravity, but still has a very dominant and demanding mmc. no if you've read things by h.d. carlton or other dark romance authors and that's your expectation level. this might come off as boring to you. however as this was a bit tame for me storyline wise, the spicy scenes were amazing and i did like that they were both artists. i feel like usually billionaires are business-oriented but it was cool to see a wealthy and famous artist. also yes if you like mentor romance dynamics.

7. iced out - veronica eden: yes if you like boys who are very clearly written by women ( in a good way! ). the mmc is perfectly balanced; he's as hot and dominant as he is cute and sweet and nice and thoughtful. he's pretty much the picturesque model citizen for what a girl typically would want in a perfectly healthy romantic relationship. there's very little drama between characters, which i personally liked. but no if parental death or familial death or grief/loss are triggers for you. for a more in-depth response, i did a spoiler free book review here!

♡ Episode 8 | Recoupling #2 | GENEVA ISLAND

♡ Autumn woke up angry due to hormones, developing an addiction to caffeine, and from what Sean did the night before. She made breakfast and Rowan helped her, strengthening their friendship. She confronted Sophie about bullying Blakes, yelling at her, which could also secretly be because of Seans flirting with Sophie the night before. Later, she had fun chatting with Sean and gained a fun from laughing sentiment towards him, which makes it seem as though she is deciding to ignore the previous situation with Sophie, for now.

♡ Judi stayed away from all the drama, and helped Autumn vent her frustrations. In the evening, she flirted with Rowan, then she chatted with Autumn and Sean, enjoying their company, building great friendships and deepening the growing connection between herself and Rowan.

♡ Sophie woke up mad and decided to insult Blakes until he left her alone, as she is done with their relationship, at least for as long as her emotions are involved. She got called out by Autumn for her bullying, which was embarrassing to her. She proceeded to continue to insult Jasmine (Blakes new love interest). While she was trying to cool off with a workout, Blakes approached her and had an unpleasant conversation about the ending of their relationship. Unfortunately, Blakes chose Jasmine over her at the recoupling, and she left the Villa.

♡ Jasmine tried to talk it out with Sophie, but she got insulted instead. Unfortunately she is used to bullying and so Sophies words didn’t affect her. In the evening, she flirted with Blakes.

♡ Rowan stayed away from all the drama revolving around Sophie. He helped Autumn cook breakfast as they are building a very strong friendship. He also chatted with multiple islanders throughout the day. In the evening, he flirted with Judi.

♡ Sean was furious from being around Sophie all morning. He spent the day working on feeling better, which included playing chess with Autumn and laughing with her.

♡ Blakes was insulted by Sophie all morning, making him very angry and giving him a festering grudge against her. He talked with her while she was working out, having an unpleasant conversation with her about the ending of their relationship, which eventually turned offensive. Later, he flirted with Jasmine.

Clara’s new outlook on forgiveness and Frederick’s understanding of his past and how it didn’t need to influence him led them to give their relationship a second chance, this time unburdened by the Trenchards’ secret past. Their future traveling also means a new path for Davison and Fletcher, and the general message of a new start is also reflected in Emily asking after another man at James’s gathering, moving on from her crush on James. All in all, Belgravia: The Next Chapter episode 8 diametrically opposed its parent series’ ending, instead promising happiness for all the characters at its center.

It’s certainly been a while since I last updated, but things have been hectic! I’m progressing well through the entertainer career [Elly is a Jingle Jammer now], and life is good~ On my love life front, things progressed surprisingly quickly!

It started when Paolo asked to stay with me for a few days - I guess there was trouble with his housemates or something, and I was the nearest option. From there, I guess we connected or something? Before long, we were happily in a relationship, and by now we’re happily married~

 We also have a cute baby girl named Nissa, isn’t she sweet? 

She’s such a daddy’s girl, Paolo loves tending to her and cuddling her. He tells me excitedly every time she hits a milestone~ Oh yeah! Paolo is in the athletic career, although sometimes I catch him strumming on the guitar. Seems he has a musical mind too ^^

We’re going to have to move soon, when Nissa ages up she’ll need her space, and this house is a bit too small. So right now we’re looking for something ideal. In the meantime, we’re just pressing on. My dreams of starhood are on the backburner while Nissa is still young, but I’ll get back on that path sometime. hiii wanted to make one of these just so I can ramble about everything bc what a crazy night LMAOO gonna make another post about the day so this is just about the show

my soul left my body when the lights went dark omfg, that is literally one of my favourite parts about concerts/live shows. the smoke and lights was a lot but the second they came out it’s like everything cleared up, i loveee how they come out with their backs to us and then the happy silly music when they’re running around saying hi hehehehe

the whole intro/beginning part was so fun i just loved the bits when they were just talking to us, canada love, the history of dnp/why we're all here etc etc. the dolls/diorama is such a fun little phistory recap, though i will say it was not as wild as i was maybe expecting or what they've done on other nights lol. they "wrestled" in the first one, nothing in the manchester apartment, "kissed" (69-ed lol) in the london one and that was it but they were all SO well made (shoutout pj and sophie), i loved phil's hoodie for the 2 apartment era hehe

role model or no-le model: very fun section, i wish i could tell you all the fill in the blanks we did but i can't remember for the life of me lol i shouted yaoi so loud for all of the lawyer dan ones but alas :( but i do remember lawyer dan writes erotica about timbits, then when the side by sides came up on the screens after it had been changed to "Phim Phbits" which made them both genuinely laugh it was so sweetie. we killed regular dan and doctor phil

phanspiracies were: toilet, clothes, tour bus and wedding. honestly very solid picks, it was so surreal seeing those "phan proof" comps of them wearing the same clothes on the screen down to the zoomed in picture of the underwear from the christmas cookies video 😭 the tour bus clip will never not be crazy but it was SO funny bc we cheered so loudly after phil said it was true that they shared the bed and dan was judging us but all i could think about is the stunned silence from phantwerp day one, i will never forget listening to that live and it's probably been so entertaining for them to see the shift from that lmao. the wedding edits were so funny dan was like "i know you had that as your desktop background for 6 years" and someone behind me was like "YES I DID", dan's little kick and cheeky smile at "i'm just opposed to anything traditional" ok sure

i can't remember which section this was during it was something to do with discussing a past era but phil said "maybe I was just horny" and i screamed lmao

the boxing segment ajdjkskjsf i have been waiting for it my entire goddamn life tbh and it was so fun. no one told me about the visuals on the screen ok why do they look so GOOD in them?? i wasn't actually expecting them to knock each other out or anything but it did seem a tinyy bit tamed down from what i've seen before, like they were being very gentle with each other lol but it was cute, the bite was still bite-y and the run around the theatre was craaaazy, the camera following them is so good lol

they yapped for moose. meese. meeses for a minute straight and i forgot it was supposed to be a bit it was so natural they're good at it whether they like it or not

oh yeah that's the other thing. they are fucking INCREDIBLE performers. like, they are so good at what they do and it was one of the highlights of my life getting to experience it irl. the show is incredibly well paced, the script is funny, the audience participation makes it but it's so insane to see how well they work together. the comfort and familiarity after so many years plays a huge part (there was a solid like 7 shoulder touches btw) but their dynamic is soooo good, they play off of each other so well. literally everything @cheekyvank described to me about dan as a performer is true. he was ALWAYS moving, he moves his mouth and bends and grooves and does the absolute most but it's soooo natural, like he has so much fun doing it. that man is a theatre kid all grown up and it's incredibly endearing but he's also a master, like he was MADE to be on a stage, he's so fucking good at balancing between roasting and teasing us and pointing out at people and winking and he called out someone filming without actually saying anything and it was so smooth and lowkey hot but also like jesus i didn't even risk TRYING to take a picture i am sooooooo scared of him. also thanks to you @jonsaremembers i was looking forward to the 4 g's all night, i am their geeky girlie forever and ever 🫶

and phil. oh my sweet precious baby angel. my heart was burstingggg with phil love all night. he is so, so so so good literally everything right with this world tbh. you can tell he has SO much fun on the stage as well, there's moments where his smile softens or he just looks out onto the audience and i want to shower him with love and affection (and we did! i honestly think one of the loudest screams was for "normal phil" during role model hehe). he is so effortlessly funny, the silly little run over to the microphone every time for the "hiatus" was one of my favourite bits of the show. i absolutely loved his getting real with us bit, it reminded me so much of his youtube videos- and i hope he knows how powerful and meaningful that "light entertainment" is for us. his voice was soooo soft and gentle it was like we were his children he was talking to which i guess we kind of are in this context. i love him forever and ever

sister daniel. INCREDIBLE follow up. i knew it was coming and nothing prepared me for Her. another part of the set design/production that is so well done, the visuals and the bass dropping when she comes out is SOOO fucking good. i have never screamed so loudly in my life. i would do anything she asked me to. the underwear were so fucking short i could not see a THINGGG like. fucking hell. lots of pulling the dress down and legs crossed/staying sat the whole time though lol which fair but the confessions and water spraying was fun, it will never not be funny when dan shames people for opening their mouths after they say it's sister daniel's bath water lmfaooo

the SONG!!!!!!!! the most fun. in the entire world. it's so good it's so fun. the lyrics, them going FULL boy band mode, the hands folding over and doob grab was infinitely more devastating irl. dan is so fucking good at the dance i love you forever terminal theatre kid and i think phil has reached the peak of how well he can do it and i want to give him his flowers for trying his damn best every time you keep doing you baby. the part where it kinda slows down and they're just doing the geekiest moves ever like those are my BABIESSS dfjksajdks standing up to rave with dnp in a room full of phannies was the highlight of my entire fucking life.

this was SO much longer than i anticipated and i'm probably still gonna go on about things as i remember it but it was genuinely the most fun and memorable night of my life. i love these two silly little guys so much, it was so surreal seeing them in person after over a decade and i would do anything to experience it again but i'm so, so grateful i got to do it once and i will cherish the memories forever. and this has only made me more insane about them and cemented the fact that i wholeheartedly believe they love us, this new era, and that they're not going away anytime soon so i WILL see you guys back on the internet and hopefully outside of it one day again too <3

leverage: the long goodbye job

y'all i just finished watching this episode for the first time and let me tell you. i. am. sobbing. it was a roller-coaster of emotions. anyways here are my thoughts:

the "job" being to stop someone from going through the same pain nate went through when is son died had me in shambles from the beginning

parker and nate on the roof. the passing of the torch. the "i trust your judgment" from someone who has spent the whole show planning everything alone. what the fuck.

the fake out. parker and hardison escaping through the elevator shaft. parker dropping hardison because she got shot. "i've got you, i've got you". eliot getting shot. the three of them die HOLDING HANDS. "did eliot make it". "im right here" parker dying last and alone. nate and sophie looking back and seeing that theyre dead before holding hands and driving off the bridge. because if they go out they go out together.

"WHY WOULD I LIE? WHY? I SCREWED UP, I GOT THEM KILLED! I LOST EVERVERYTHING, THE ONLY THING I EVER HAD! WHY! WHY WOULD I LIE?"

the worst possible senario for nate being loosing them. loosing his family. the tears in his eyes. sophie taught him well

nate was the patrol officer all along. eliot rolling his eyes when he gets shot. the recap. the goofy knight costumes so they can blend in on stage.

I think this is one of the things I can appreciate about kotlc. there'd be some random unfamiliar word when you start reading a new book and then there's sophie explaining again what it is. or when sophie is recapping everything that happened in the previous book when a certain character or location was mentioned

♡ Episode 9 | GENEVA ISLAND

♡ Autumn woke up and talked with Sean, Judi, and Rowan all morning, enjoying the company of good friends. On her one-on-one with the new islander Justin, her first impression of him is that he is off in dreamland.

♡ Judi spent the morning chatting with Sean, Autumn, and Rowan. When meeting Justin, her first impression is that he is utterly charmless.

♡ Jasmine talked with Blakes and helped him cook all morning. When he asked her to be his girlfriend she accepted without giving much thought, because she wants Blakes to herself after the Sophie incident. When meeting Justin, she accepted his flirting. She became upset to see Blakes upset with her, and she questioned moving too fast. Her head was an a swivel all night between the two boys.

♡ Rowan likes to work out every morning to keep up his physique for not only his job but also his rugged hobby lifestyle. He spent the morning helping cook and chatting with Sean and Judi. When he met the new islander, Justin, his first impression is that he is reasonable.

♡ Sean woke up hungover, which he seems to do often. His looming fear of failure and death catches up to him every morning as he continuously has nightmares of losing what he worked hard for back at home. That, and he is nervous that the experience will be a waste of time. He met Justin and thinks he is reasonable because of how similar they are to each other.

♡ Blakes woke up and talked with Jasmine before making breakfast with hers and Rowans help, and asked Jasmine to be his girlfriend which she accepted. He doesn’t like Justin and thinks he is in dreamland. Later, he caught Justin flirting with Jasmine and it made him very upset.

♡ Justin entered the Villa and had one-on-one time with each girl while they played a game of chess. He met Autumn and had the first impression that she is pretentious, and gave her a suggestive look while they played. When he met Jasmine, his first impression of her is that she is funny, and he thinks she is very charming.  He met Judi last, and thought she is not his type. When meeting Sean, he thinks he is sophisticated and likes his style, and thinks Rowan and Blakes are both imaginative. In the evening, he flirted with Jasmine.
