I’ve been debating for a long time whether or not to repost this from AO3. This is my biggest “hit” & I have a love/hate relationship with this fic. It took me almost 3.5 yrs to complete including rewriting the last 3rd of it because 2019 Author Emily chickened out where 2023 Author Emily went for the throat. I also haven’t reposted any of my BTS work & I thought it was time. The main pairing is SOPE with a side of Namjin & Taekook. Yes, I was a cliche. Also I want to post some bonus content for this fic for JFW so I need to, like, post the fic itself.

❥ my review:

this is the first fic that i ever sat in my bed reading and sobbing in the early hours of the morning. it was also my first mxm fic, and it is the blueprint for my desire to write yearning the way that i do. i think it is safe to say this fic has inspired me so much.

from how real the characters feel, to living inside Yoongi's overthinking little head...ugh. i visit this fic from time to time when i need to feel my feelings. and even tho i know what is coming, i always tear up.

my only regret is that this fic has been orphaned, so i cannot pour my heart and soul out to the author. i think about this fic often and i would love to tell them how much they have inspired me. i hope that wherever they are, they are having a good life.

When the lights turn on, everyone jumps out from behind furniture and doors and yells “Surprise!” “Happy birthday to you...” they sing as Jimin and Taehyung come forward with a strawberry covered sponge cake. “Happy birthday to you… Happy birthday, Hoseok-ie (Hoseok-ie hyung for the maknaes)... Happy birthday to you!” Hoseok claps his hands excitedly before closing his eyes to make a wish. The yellow glow of the candles gives him a golden appearance, like an angel or a deity. He blows out the candles and everyone cheers. Taehyung hand feeds him a few strawberries while Jin and Jungkook take a few for themselves. Yoongi stands off to the side, smiling softly and taking it all in. Hoseok looks so happy surrounded by the people who love him the most. Happiness looks good on you, Yoongi thinks. And I want to make you happy for the rest of my life.

Angel's review : I'm introducing you one of my most favorite trope on Ao3 : Exes to Lovers ! And this fanfiction is the best to portray that. I am in love with the author's writing. He has a way to depict the characters' feelings in the most raw, fair and heart-clutching way. The pining, the miscommunication, the push and pull, the emotional constipation...As much as exes to lovers in real life might be a little toxic and not the best solution for your mental health but, in this story, you cannot not root for Sope to get back together. You see that this separation has resulted from a lack of talking and emotional availability. All in all, it's a favorite trope, compiled with my favorite pairing, compiled with a beautiful writing, compiled with the best plot. A 10000/10 recommendation.

Yoongi was never rough with his toys. He was such a gentle person through and through that it naturally translated into his regressed headspace. He’d never once thrown, kicked, or smashed a toy. He treated all his toys with lots of care since they were all so precious to him.

His favorite toy was his Mang plush. After having the plush for so long, it was bound to get dirty. So only a few months into their little space endeavors, they had to start washing Mang every once in a while. Soon enough it became routine to throw the stuffed animal in with the delicates and move along. Each time they made sure everything was okay with the plush; no stitches undone or snagging.

Today it was Yoongi's turn to do the laundry and he'd been on edge for a few days, unable to slip.
