Jihoon breathed for the third time that morning. He had to focus, he only had forty minutes left to finish his paint.

Mr. Kim tought it would be fun to add a little challenge that morning so as soon as the class started he told his students "you all have an hour to paint something, at the end of the class, i will call your name and you will have to explain to everyone what did you paint and why".

Usually he wouldn't be this stressed, and today wouldn't be different if it wasn't for Kwon Soonyoung.

Kwon Soonyoung was tall and a bright smile was always on his face. He was a dancer and had the same age as Jihoon. But that wasn't what annoyed Jihoon. What in fact did annoyed Jihoon was his loud voice and the way he was always talking with so many people, trying his best to make them laugh and become them their friends.

As you can imagine Lee Jihoon wasn't someone who enjoyed loud places or loud people, and that was exactly Soonyoung's description.

Someone laughed behind him and Jihoon rolled his eyes again. Damn, can't this boy be quiet for once in his life?

He looked at his phone again, 9:27 am. Time was flying and he had to started it now. His inspiration was nowhere to be find. All he could hear was that boy.

- Look what you are doing Soonyoung! This is the fifth time you are drawing a tiger, I don't think Mr. Kim would accept another one this week.

- But it is not just a tiger, Wonwoo. - Soonyoung replied- also what is wrong if I love to paint tigers? This is my work anyways. What are you painting? A pink tree? Wow, that's amazing.

Jihoon could hear the sarcasm on his voice.

- it is not just a pink three Soonyoung- Wonwoo replied with a sigh- it is almost spring, the whole city will be pink, don't you think it is the perfect moment to paint something pink?

Wonwoo was Jihoon's classmate. He had silver hair and big glasses. Jihoon had talked with him some times on lunch breaks and the boy was fine. He wasn't loud and he wasn't the type of person who talked to people him until he was spoken to.

Jihoon was almost hundred percent sure he heard a boring coming from Wonwoo's friend but he was already busy with his paint.

Annoying Soonyoung, he thought, why are you so annoying? Why can't you be quiet?, he starred painting, can't you stop moving for once? You have hit my left two time already, Jihoon rolled his eyes again while he was mixing red and white to get a pink pastel tone, wasn't Mr. Kim tell him something? He was distracting everybody with his voice. And his laugh.

Jihoon breathed once he finished. He looked at the time. 9:58. The time was almost finishing and he saw some of his classmates rushing to finish their paints.

He looked at his paint again. And he realized the big mistake. Oh no, Jihoon thought while he went pale, what have I done.

- Okay students, time is over. Please stop painting. Let's start with your presentations- Mr. Kim informed and all Jihoon wished was to not be selected. He was trying his best to avoid Mr. Kim's eyes. - Jihoon - he heard- please come forward and show us your work.

If Jihoon was pale before now he was a fucking ghost. His hands were sweating. And he rising want to go there. He wanted to run away from that classroom.

Mr. Kim was waiting for him on his desk. The man was already on his fifty and a strong accent could be heard whenever he talked with his students.

As soon as he was in front of his classmates he knew the amount of teasing he would be receiving for the whole month.

- We are waiting Mr. Lee, please show us your painting.

Jihoon breathed and turn around the paint he was waiting to burn right there and showed it to the whole class. And something was in fact burning, but it wasn't his paint, it was his face. His face was red because in front of everybody was a guy with pink hair, with small eyes and a small nose. On a dark night with a carousel behind him and a pinwheel on his left hand. It was a night full of starts and based by the guy's clothes it was a cold night.

Jihoon's paint was Kwon Soonyoung.

- Could you please tell us what is this and why did you paint it? - Mr. Kim asked while he was making the class quiet, Jihoon could hear some whispers here and there, and some laughs. However he refused to look at a specific person. How this even happened? All he knew was how annoyed and mad he was feeling because the tall guy was constantly talking, and singing, and kicking his chair whenever he moved.

-i... am not exactly sure - Jihoon confessed.

- I see a person over there, is that your friend? - Mr. Kim asked even when Jihoon was really sure it was pretty obvious who the person was. His eyes were really distinctive.

- I think my mind made that person. - That wasnt necessary a lie, his mind has made that scenario last night while he was sleeping. Jihoon was walking, alone, at night, looking for someone. The more he walked the more exhausted he was.

He remembered how his legs were shaking, and when he was almost giving up he saw a carousel. He stayed there, waiting for someone until he woke up.

Seems like when he started painting his mind went to the guy behind him and his mad hands painted him as well.

One thing was for sure, If he kept receiving all this unwanted attention for more time he would die. - I called this... Hoshi... because... the start. Thank you.

He rushed to go to his chair without looking at any of his classmates. His cheeks were pink and he was really close to just go out of the classroom.

- Miss Park, you are next. - Mr. Kim didn't wast time to call another student.

He felt his phone vibrating on his pocket. It was a message from his friend, Jun.

He tried to believe him. He. Really did. Until he heard someone moving behind him and whispering onto his ear

Soonhoon “Ghost” AU Part 2

• Soonyoung is able to get out of the Hospital 3 weeks later. • During those 3 weeks, Jihoon spent time with both Soonyoung and Soonyoung's family. • Jihoon is there with Soonyoung when he is able to sign himself out, and Jihoon texts Jeonghan like he had been doing the past 3 weeks ever since Soonyoung woke up. • "Man, your life is crazy. I'm glad your Not-Ghost-Lover is alive. Can't wait to actually meet him." • Jeonghan loves Jihoon's life. • Jihoon drives Soonyoung to his parents house, Soonyoung talking animatedly about how excited he is to see his house and how he can't wait to meet Jihoon's friends the next day. • Jihoon is excited to sit on his couch with Soonyoung by his side again. • Jihoon also knows that he probably looks very fond of Soonyoung, to any outsider. • When Soonyoung and Jihoon arrive at Soonyoung's parents house, Soonyoung's mom makes them sit in the dining room as she makes a home cooked meal for them. • Soonyoung and Jihoon sit next to Soonyoung's 8 year old brother, who is drawing a picture that looks oddly like Soonyoung and Jihoon. • The whole thing seems very domestic and reminds Jihoon of his friends. • Soonyoung looks up from Jihoon and his intertwined hand when Soonyoung's brother goes out of the dining room to play a game, leaving his drawing on the table.

Plus they act like a married couple." • Soonyoung's eyebrows furrow. • "My friends are my only family, Soonyoung. My mom died when I was 11, which was when I could start seeing ghosts, by the way. And my dad cut contact with me when I was 18, because I'm gay. And my brother moved to the states and hasn't really talked to me since." • Soonyoung frowns, "Your dad seems like a dick." • "He is." • Soonyoung's mom comes into the dining room with a whole cooked meal, and Jihoon is so thankful for it because he's been living off of fast food ever since Soonyoung woke up. • Soonyoung is probably also very thankful for it. • After they eat, Soonyoung tells his mom that he is going to Jihoon's apartment for the night, and Soonyoung's mom smiles and gives them leftovers before sending them both off with a kiss on the cheek. • Soonyoung plays the radio in the car, and holds onto Jihoon's free hand while he drives. • Jihoon loves it. • When they arrive to Jihoon's apartment, he turns on the lights and drops the keys on his coffee table, pulling Soonyoung softly to the couch. • He turns on the television, and having Soonyoung next to him so close is familiar but also entirely new to him. • Now he can touch Soonyoung and wrap his arm safely around him as they "watch" whatever is playing on the television. • But like before, they mostly just converse. • Soonyoung kisses Jihoon somewhere around 1 am, after they were conversing for hours about different things. • Like what it was like growing up being able to see ghosts and what it was like actually being a "ghost". • Soonyoung straddles Jihoon's lap, kissing him deeply. • Jihoon sighs into the kiss, and he is so very thankful that Soonyoung is alive. • Soonyoung moves his hips, and Jihoon immediately grabs at them, pulling back. • "Don't start that, please." • Jihoon couldn't raise his voice past a mumble. • "I told my friends that we would be up by 9 and if you start then I don't think we're getting sleep tonight." • Soonyoung smiled at Jihoon. • "We should go to bed then." • And Jihoon seriously tried to keep from touching Soonyoung on the way to his bedroom, but he decided that it was okay if he didn't get much sleep. • But he lowkey regretted it in the morning when he heard banging on his door and that was what woke him and Soonyoung up. • Jihoon lazily got out of bed, and Soonyoung did the same, going for his bag and getting his clothes. • Jihoon grabbed whatever was thrown on the ground the night before, too lazy to actually go to his drawer. • He pulled Soonyoung with him to the door (which had constant knocks) after he was dressed. • Jihoon opened the door to see Jeonghan standing there, raising his hand for another knock, Seungcheol behind him, massaging his shoulders. • "Finally!" Jeonghan said, exasperated and pushed his way past Jihoon. • Seungcheol followed his boyfriend inside, stopping to look at Jihoon and Soonyoung. • He nodded. • Soonyoung smiled at him. • Jeonghan was still complaining about having to wait. • Jeonghan stopped in the middle of his sentence when he looked at Jihoon, "Is that a new shirt? It's too big on you Jihoonie! This is why I always ask you to wait for me to go shopping. Do you like bowling Soonyoung?" • So they all plan to go bowling and Soonyoung walks out of the door joking with Seokmin as Jihoon waits for everyone to exit. • And like he always does, Jeonghan closes the door after everyone leaves to stay to talk to Jihoon. • "I'm fucking happy to see you like this Jihoon." • "Like what?" Jihoon plays stupid. • Jeonghan rolls his eyes at him. • "Happy and in love. I'm so glad you're not scaring yourself away from it. You deserve someone like Soonyoung, he seems awesome." • Jihoon sighs happily. • "He is, Jeonghannie. Trust me. It was a Friday afternoon, and Jihoon was lying on Seungcheol’s bed, listening to the furious clacking of Seungcheol’s keyboard as he scuttled around on MapleStory. No doubt one of the characters on screen was Wonwoo, but Jihoon had no idea of knowing which one.

“Should I start exercising?” Jihoon wondered aloud.

“Why the sudden interest?” Seungcheol asked suspiciously, still focused on his computer screen.

“Why not? You’re always saying I’ll die early if I keep living this way.”

“And when did you ever listen to me?” Seungcheol groaned when his character actually plummeted to his death. He glanced at Jihoon over his shoulder before he respawned again. “Do you have a crush on someone?”

“No. I just think I should be able to keep up.”

There was some clacking. “Keep up with what? Other guys our age?”

“Yeah.”

“Like who, specifically?”

Jihoon stared at the back of Seungcheol’s head. “Why does it need to be someone specific?”

“Because there’s a huge difference between guys our age. Just look at Moonsik and then look at me.”

Moonsik was Seungcheol’s third-year classmate and somewhat of a soccer star at their school. Jihoon saw Moonsik around rather often nowadays — he was physically fit, to say the least, but Seungcheol was also pretty athletic.

“What’s the difference between you and Moonsik?”

“He actually works out. I don’t.”

Jihoon studied his own arm. It wasn’t particularly thin, because he had big bones like his mom, but there was also no muscle definition whatsover. “I’d rather be you, I guess.”

“Excuse me, why do you sound so disappointed?” Their conversation was temporarily derailed by a monster fight, and then Jihoon prodded Seungcheol to continue. “Oh, yeah, exercise. You should definitely pick something you like, or else you’ll never do it.”

“Right,” Jihoon muttered. What if he didn’t like to move?

But then his mind wandered back to Sports Day last month, when his class won the relay race. Jihoon had almost dropped the baton, but Soonyoung miraculously caught it and flew to the finish line. The memory stuck, for some reason: Jihoon with his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath, as he watched their classmates toss Soonyoung in the air for snagging first place. He had seemed so far away for a moment.

“Maybe I’ll try running,” he said, as Seungcheol shook his computer screen and proceeded to call Wonwoo to berate his risky defense tactics.

This was highkey inspired by that one movie with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, so. It turned out differently than I planned, but I worked too hard on this so I can’t just ditch it. 

ALSO, warning for vulgar language and a small mention about suicide. 

• Jihoon moves into a new apartment complex, which is only, like, six months old. • He's startled to find Soonyoung lounging on his couch, and actually thinks he's human at first. • "What the fuck? Get out of my house, man." • "This is an apartment, not a house." • Jihoon just gives him a done look and tells him to get out again, and tries to throw a candy bar at him, but it goes through him. • Jihoon realizes that Soonyoung is a ghost and mutters, "for fucks sake" before picking up his candy bar and heading to his room. • "I'm your new roommate!" • Jihoon slams his door shut. • Jihoon tells his best friends Seungcheol and Jeonghan the next day about Soonyoung, at lunch when the two visit him at his music studio. • They have been his friends since he was younger and started seeing ghosts, after he was in a car accident which led to his mom's death when he was about 11 years old. • They thought it was the coolest thing, at that age, when the two were 12. • Jeonghan asks Jihoon if Soonyoung is cute, and Jihoon rolls his eyes, "He's a fucking ghost. Even if he was cute, I don't date ghosts." • "A ghost roommate! Did you talk to him after you went to your room?" • "No, I went to bed. Are we done talking about this? I'll talk to this ghost dude when I get home, see how I can get him to Heaven or Hell." • "Jihoon comes home to Soonyoung on his couch again, just laying down and looking at the ceiling. • "Is that all you do?" • "No! Soonyoung is very enthusiastic, and Jihoon cringes. • "Okay, do you know anything about your death?" • "Yes." • Soonyoung's reply surprises Jihoon because most ghosts know nothing about their death. • Jihoon figures he must have gotten into a fight with someone before he died, it could be his unfinished business. • Jihoon asks Soonyoung about it. • "I remember everything before I died. I had already said I love you to my mom and dad, brothers and sisters, and my boyfriend. I don't feel unfinished at all." • "Boyfriend?" • Soonyoung gives a tiny glare towards Jihoon, "Yeah, is there something wrong with that?" • "No, not at all. I'm fucking gay, so." • Soonyoung gives a smile, "Good." • Jihoon ignores the comment, and goes to his room again, trying to figure out what could possibly be keeping Soonyoung there. • He tells Jeonghan and Seungcheol about what Soonyoung said, and Jeonghan smiles. • "He's gay! Perfect." • Seungcheol punches his boyfriend's arm lightly. • "Stop trying to make Jihoon fuck ghosts." • Jihoon tries to ignore the weird look a guy at the table next to them gives. • Seungkwan, who works at the coffee shop they're currently at, sits down next to Jihoon. • "I'm on break, let's have a housewarming party at your house." • Their other friend who works there, Seokmin, overhears as he is cleaning the table. • "Right now? I still have a shift after my break." • "Plus Hansol wouldn't be able to come right now," Jeonghan teases, which earns a kick under the table from Seungkwan. • "We're not having a party at my apartment," Jihoon refuses.

• But Friday they do, because Jeonghan and Seungkwan show up with alcohol and tell him that they're going to set up.

• Jihoon knows not to go against Jeonghan, because Jeonghan always gets his way, so he lets him and asks how many people he invited.

• "Just the usual people! I know your place is kind of... small."

• Soonyoung is still chilling on the couch from the conversation he and Jihoon were having about music and how Soonyoung loved to dance when he was alive.

• "Oooh, I get to meet your friends?"

• "They can't fucking see you, Soonyoung."

• He receives a pout from Soonyoung, which almost made him feel guilty, and a curious look from Seungkwan, which he shrugs off.

• Jeonghan snickers and turns to Seungkwan, "Our dear Jihoon has an imaginary friend."

• Soonyoung's pout gets bigger, "I resent that statement."

• Jihoon just wishes his life could be normal.

• Even though Jihoon was doubting it at first, Jeonghan was actually true to his word and only invited their close friends.

• They sit around the coffee table in front of Jihoon's couch in a circle, and just laugh and drink some of the alcohol Jeonghan and Seungkwan brung even though Chan is underage and Joshua is a lightweight.

• Jihoon doesn't drink, he has work the next morning, and he sits with his back against the couch, Soonyoung somehow finding enough strength in his ghost body to play with his hair.

• Soonyoung probably finds it odd that he's not jumping away from his hands in his hair, but Jihoon enjoys people playing with his hair, no matter how cold he seems.

• Jihoon tries not to speak to Soonyoung, though, because the only people who knows about him are Jeonghan and Seungcheol.

• He is sat next to Jun and Jeonghan, the latter on his right, and when Wonwoo makes a dad joke that makes Mingyu laugh and everyone else complain, Jeonghan leans in and asks Jihoon if Soonyoung is there.

• Soonyoung gets excited at the mention of his name.

• "They know about me!? Why aren't you talking to me if they know?"

• Jihoon nods to Jeonghan, and turns slightly to Soonyoung, "Only two of them know about you. I would prefer to seem sane in front of my friends."

• Soonyoung rolls his eyes, "Lame. You're all close, you should tell them."

• And it suddenly reminds Jihoon of when he was in High School, finally coming to terms with the fact that he was gay, his brother telling him that he should just tell his friends.

• And even though he was kind of iffy about them being supportive, they turned out to be.

• And most of them turned out to be as fucking gay as he was, too.

• Over the next few weeks, Jihoon becomes a little closer to Soonyoung.

• He comes home from the studio to always find Soonyoung lying on the couch, and whenever he comes in, Soonyoung lifts up his feet so they can talk or watch movies together or even sing to whatever girl group songs they like (but Jihoon would never tell a soul about that).

• Jihoon gradually begins to not look for a way to get Soonyoung gone, because, even though it's kind of selfish, he doesn't really want him gone.

• He likes Soonyoung a lot.

• Jeonghan catches onto that when Jihoon is hanging out at Jeonghan and Seungcheol's apartment, the two of them waiting for Seungcheol to come back with food.

• "You seem to talk about Soonyoung a lot."

• "Yeah, well, I talk to him a lot, so."

• "You told me you'd never date a ghost."

• "And? I'm not dating Soonyoung, we're close friends. I like him as a friend. He likes music."

• "Yeah, you told me he likes music. About fifty times. Face it, Jihoon, you're falling in love with a ghost."

• And that maybe makes Jihoon realize that he is actually falling for Soonyoung, and he freaks out.

• So when he gets home that night, he goes straight to his room, ignoring Soonyoung calling his name.

• And on impulse, he asks Jun on a date, even though they both know that Jun is in love with Minghao, who says he's straight but kisses Jun when he's drunk.

• Jun and Jihoon go on a date to a bar, and because they're both lonely, they get drunk and hop in a cab to go to Jihoon's place.

• When Jihoon opens the door to his apartment with Jun wrapped around him, kissing his neck, Soonyoung is on the couch and looks right at them both.

• Jihoon feels so fucking guilty at the look Soonyoung has, as if he was betrayed by Jihoon.

• And when Jun glides his hands down to the waistband of Jihoon's pants, Jihoon mutters Soonyoung's name as he watches him disappear.

• Even though Jun is wasted, he catches the unfamiliar name.

• "Who is Soonyoung?"

• Jihoon closes his eyes, upset that he had let his name slip.

• "Um.. A ghost, I guess."

• "You guess? How drunk are you?"

• Jihoon shrugs, "Let's talk about it in the morning. Can we go to sleep?"

• Jun nods, and says he's going to the bathroom to take a shower.

• Jihoon hands him a towel, washcloth, and the biggest clothes he owns, and shows him exactly where the bathroom is.

• When he hears the water running, he sighs and flops face first into his pillow.

• Falling in love with a ghost is not a good idea.

• The next morning, Jeonghan comes in and finds Jun and Jihoon curled up together, and demands and explanation.

• Jihoon explained that he and Jun went on a date and came back and didn't do anything.

• "Is Soonyoung here?" Jeonghan asks, glancing around. "It's not cold."

• Jun groans, "Who the hell is Soonyoung?"

• Jihoon swallows.

• "I think it's time that I told the group, Soonyoung said I should."

• Jeonghan has the look of a proud father when he takes out his phone to text the group chat to come to Jihoon's place.

• They all arrive, Mingyu and Wonwoo holding 12 cups of coffee for everyone because, "Why the fuck would you make a family meeting at 9 in the fucking morning, Jeonghan?"

• They all gather around the same place they did last time, and Jihoon feels sad when Soonyoung still hasn't shown back up to run his hands through Jihoon's hair when he has back pressed against the couch.

• "So, Jeonghan and Seungcheol, you can tell them."

• Seungcheol gives him a look like he's crazy, "This is yours to tell, Jihoon."

• Jeonghan shakes his head, "Tell them."

• "Okay well... I'm not crazy or anything but. Um, I can. Um. See ghosts?"

• It comes out as a question, and Seungkwan fist bumps the air.

• "I fucking knew it. Pay up Hansol, I told you!"

• "Aw fuck. Why couldn't you have said you were a vampire?"

• "You thought I was a vampire?"

• "SO SOONYOUNG IS ACTUALLY A GHOST?"

• "Uh.. Yeah."

• "A ghost you fucked your chances up with," Jeonghan says accusingly. "Didn't you?"

• "Wait are you trying to fuck a ghost?" Hansol asks, "Fucking rad."

• Seungkwan glares at him.

• "I never even had a chance."

• "You had more of a chance before you fucked Jun."

• "YOU FUCKED JUN?" All of the other boys besides Jihoon, Jeonghan, and Jun said.

• "Hey! Why wouldn't I be the one fucking? I think I was pretty in lead last night."

• "I didn't fuck Jun!"

• "So Jun fucked you?" Jihoon did not like being on the end of Minghao's glare, and shifted uncomfortably.

• "No, we didn't fuck at all."

• "Yeah, because you were thinking about your ghost lover." Jun muttered and Minghao glared at Jun.

• "Why the fuck are you glaring at me? Stop being jealous, you always say you're straight."

• Minghao looks to the ground, and almost everyone got silent.

• Seokmin speaks up, "So you fucked up with your ghost lover because you didn't fuck Jun?"

• "He left last night because I came home with Jun." Jihoon sighs. "I don't know where he could have gone."

• "Did you ever figure out how he died?" Jeonghan asked.

• Jihoon's eyebrows furrow, "He already knew how he died."

• "But do you know how he died?" Seungcheol joins his boyfriend.

• "Why would I need to know?"

• "Could possibly get you closer to getting rid of me." Soonyoung speaks behind Jihoon, and it's the first time Jihoon has ever jumped because of a ghost in years.

• "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

• Everyone looks confused, before they all realized it must be the ghost.

• "Is your ghost lover here now?" Hansol asks, and Jihoon glares at him when he says Soonyoung raise his eyebrow.

• "Who's your ghost lover? Is that guy a ghost too?" Soonyoung points to Jun.

• "No, Jun's not a ghost. Or my lover."

• "You guys sure looked like lovers last night."

• "If you stayed longer you would have seen us just go straight to sleep."

• "Sorry if I didn't want to risk watching you fuck some guy."

• "You're gay, it shouldn't have bothered you. Besides, even if we did fuck I have more decency to take it to my bedroom."

• "It bothers me when it's you!"

• "Soonyoung's gay? That's cool, more gay friends." Hansol says, and Jeonghan shushes him.

• "Can't you see they're having a moment?"

• "Actually, no. I can't see ghosts."

• Seungkwan punches Hansol in the arm.

• Soonyoung looks surprised that Hansol knows about him.

• "I took your advice and told my friends." Jihoon explains.

• "Am I high? I've never taken drugs before," Chan mutters, and Joshua laughs next to him. "Ghosts are real, I guess."

• Mingyu and Wonwoo are exchanging words with Seungcheol, before Wonwoo stands up and pulls Mingyu with him.

• "Alright kids, we're letting Jihoon have his moment with his lover."

• Jihoon glares at Wonwoo.

• "Sorry, ghost friend."

• All of Jihoon's friends send a goodbye to both him and Soonyoung, but Jeonghan stays behind.

• Jihoon gives Jeonghan a questioning glance.

• "Where is Soonyoung?" Jihoon points in Soonyoung's direction, though he is confused.

• "Listen, Soonyoung-ah. Jihoonie is my best friend and if you hurt him, I will find your bones and burn them or some shit like that."

• With that, Jeonghan left.

• Jihoon sighs, and looks at Soonyoung.

• "Sorry that I brought Jun home last night."

• "It's fine. I overreacted, I can't dictate if you're able to be with someone or not and.. I'm sorry. I guess I just, like you or something."

• "I like you too, that was why I was with Jun last night! But," Jihoon drops his head. "We would never work out. You're a ghost and eventually you'll leave."

• "I'm not though."

• Jihoon looks confused, "You're not what?"

• "I'm not a ghost."

• "Um, yes you are? My friend's can't see you and I threw a candy bar through you. I'm pretty sure you're a ghost."

• "Okay, maybe this form I am but.. I believe there's still hope that I can come back."

• Soonyoung sighs when Jihoon looks at him like he's crazy.

• "Look, my actual body is in a hospital. The one closest one to here actually. When I'm not here, I go there and watch my parents and siblings give me speeches. I guess I'm in a coma or some shit? I don't know, I just know that my heart is still beating."

• "You couldn't have mentioned that before?"

• "I didn't know how to explain it!"

• "You said you knew how you died!"

• "Yeah, well almost died, I guess? My boyfriend stabbed me."

• "You said that you had told him you loved him before you died!"

• "That I did."

• "WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU TELL THE DUDE STABBING YOU, YOU LOVE HIM?"

• "Kill him with kindness?"

• "I... can't believe I like you."

• "I'm glad you do," Soonyoung smiles, lifting his hand to Jihoon's hair. "Now can we figure out how to get me out of the coma so we can be together?"

• "Do they know that your boyfriend is the one who did it?"

• "I hope they do. No one else could have, unless they think I did it? Have you googled my name?"

• "No, not really. You said you knew what happened so I trusted that."

• "Do it now."

• Jihoon goes into his room and grabs his laptop, and sits on the couch next to Soonyoung.

• Soonyoung's hands automatically go back into Jihoon's hair.

• Jihoon searches up Soonyoung's name, and they immediately find what they're looking for.

• Headlines about Soonyoung's "attempted suicide" and about how there is still hope for him to come back.

• "They think I tried to kill myself?" Soonyoung shakes his head. "Why would my parents or siblings believe that?"

• "I don't know, but this means that you're dumbass ex-boyfriend is still out there, not getting the blame. Maybe if we find a way to get the blame on him, you'll come back?"

• "I sure hope so."

• "How can we frame him?"

• "Hm. I have a lot of college friends my family didn't know about, so you could probably play as one of those friends. Maybe you could go to his house and try and find the murder weapon? Say you just heard from another friend about what happened."

• "Can I? Go to the hospital first to see you?"

• Soonyoung looks surprised.

• "I want to maybe write something on your hand, that way you'll remember me when you do wake up."

• "I don't think I'll be able to forget you, but of course."

• The next day Jihoon find himself in front of Soonyoung's comatose body, Soonyoung's ghost right next to him.

• "Write your name," Soonyoung says as he pulls out a sharpie.

• "Okay." Jihoon writes his name under the long sleeve of Soonyoung's shirt, on his wrist.

• He places a kiss on Soonyoung's hand, and turns back to see that Soonyoung is gone.

• Jihoon sighs, and turns to walk away and go back to his apartment to find Soonyoung, but he is stopped by a hand grabbing his wrist.

• He turns in surprise to see Soonyoung's eyes opened, and Soonyoung looks surprised himself.

• "It worked, Jihoonie." He whispers, and Jihoon is confused, "But I didn't even frame your fuck face ex yet? How the fuck.. WAIT OH MY GOD YOU'RE ALIVE."

• Soonyoung weakly chuckles, "Yeah, can you get me water? My throat really hurts."

• "OF COURSE LET ME GET A DOCTOR TOO HOLD ON."

• Soonyoung smiles, "Wait. Can you.. give me a kiss before you get him? I think that's what made me wake u-"

• Jihoon leans down and kisses Soonyoung, smiling at him when he pulls away.

• "I can't believe you remember me, God. I'll go get the doctor. I love you."

• Jihoon quickly heads out the door before Soonyoung can react, and grabs the first doctor he can see, telling them about Soonyoung waking up.

• There's a lot of excitement in the place after he tells him, the doctor immediately going to see the awake Soonyoung and the other doctors and assistants calling his family to tell the news.

• "Don't call his ex-boyfriend, though." Jihoon says.

• "You mean his boyfriend?" The lady who is calling people says.

• "No, ex. Soonyoung told me that he was the one who stabbed him. Maybe call the police and tell them that."

• Her eyes widen, "Oh, I definitely will."

• Soonyoung's family arrives and Jihoon waits outside for all the chaos to settle down, texting Jeonghan about his busy day.

• When it's almost night, Soonyoung's mom comes out of the room, and sits next to Jihoon.

• "Are you Jihoon?" Soonyoung's mother asks, and Jihoon nods.

• "Thank you so much, for saving my baby boy. He told me all about you while I was in there. Thank you."

• Jihoon blushes, "It's what I'm for."

• Soonyoung's mother stands up, "He wants you in there."

• Jihoon goes in with Soonyoung's mother, and sees Soonyoung's siblings sleeping on a chair and Soonyoung's father next to him, running his fingers through his hair.

• Soonyoung smiles at Jihoon's arrival.

• "I told them everything. About me being at your apartment and about Eunwoo stabbing me."

• "I told the front desk lady to call the police on him."

• Soonyoung sends a fond look at him, "We're a good team!"

• Jihoon chuckles, "Yeah. We are."

• The rest of the evening was spent with Jihoon getting to know Soonyoung's family, and when they left Jihoon stayed.

• "I'm staying until I know for sure that your ex-boyfriend is behind bars."

• "I'm sure they already have him behind bars."

• "And I also want to stay with my boyfriend, is that bad?"

• "Oh, I'm your boyfriend now?" Soonyoung teases.

• Jihoon leans in and gives him a kiss, "I hope so." Jihoon leans back and gives Soonyoung a thoughtful look, "Why did you end up in my apartment by the way? Did you used to live there?"

• Soonyoung shakes his head, "No, I lived with Eunwoo. Maybe it was fate that brought me to lounge on your couch."

• "I believe it," Jihoon pecks his lips. "I can't wait for you to actually meet my friends."

• "Yeah, I can't wait to punch that Jun dude in the face."

• Jihoon groans, "You wouldn't."

• "No, I wouldn't," Soonyoung laughs. "But I'm going to show off that your mine now by hanging off of you all the time."

• "Usually I would hate that, but that sounds like the best thing now. You out of this hospital bed and in my apartment, showing off to my friends."

• Jihoon rests his head next to Soonyoung's, their hands intertwined.

• "I can't wait for you to be at my apartment again."

• "Yeah," Soonyoung mumbles. "I can't wait neither."

• Jihoon begins to drift off as Soonyoung strokes the back of his hand with his thumb.

• "And Jihoonie?"

• "Hm?"

• "I love you too."

• Jihoon falls asleep with a smile on his face.

• Falling in love with Soonyoung was a good idea.

“Let go of my underwear, you—!” The shout came much closer than Soonyoung anticipated and he quickly shook himself back to reality, where a cluster of three guys nearby were fighting for the ball. Soonyoung was squinting to see who had it, when it came shooting through the forest of legs straight towards him.

There was no time to react.

Or so he thought. When Soonyoung opened his eyes again, he realized his arms had reflexively come up to shield him. As he lowered them, he felt a tingle in his forearms where the ball had bounced off… and into Jihoon’s face. Soonyoung watched in slow-motion horror as blood trickled out of Jihoon’s nose. ☀️
