The lack of information given as to recent events causes Fariah's face to twist ever so slightly in the mildest of frustrations. However, it is only a flicker before it evens itself back out to her usual neutrality. She chalks it up as the young Princess is simply unable to answer, either due to ignorance or an agreement. It is not on purpose or for devious reasons, she does not imagine Zelda could be devious in that manner, even in so short a time knowing her.

That is fine. She can wait, and Fariah is no stranger to the waiting game. She figures it will come up later in conversation, it is not so pressing she would push for answers. Yet.

The veiled inquiries as to Sidhe magick and music is handled as elegantly as one can expect. She is inwardly pleased that Zelda is taking steps to wonder, and to learn. Knowing one's world is instrumental as a politician, it helps to understand the culture you are inviting into your home, or walking into at theirs. Are they good people, known as friendly to outsiders and easy to please? Or are they cloistered and hard, burned by one too many and more willing to shut their doors in your face than to extend a hand of alliance? She has dealt in both, bringing gifts and celebration to one, and guards and weapons to the other.

If she were to describe her people, she would see them as open and friendly for the most part. The people themselves have not seen war in a very long time and have always been amicable to others. That is not to say war doesn't happen in the Modern Era. It does, frequently enough, and Fariah is no stranger to it, be it starting one or ending it. But that is for the career military to worry about, and the common man to continue his daily life otherwise.

"Music is as much a part of the Sidhe as our poetry is, or our dance. It is simultaneously tied to the roots of our magicks, and its own thing as well. We, the Sidhe, worship life as we worship death. Both are entwined, there is not one without the other. It is a delicate and very revered balance.

"Our magick does not allow the use of song to travel, however. To do so, I feel, it would kill the caster. Blood magick draws on the energy of life within you to wield. It can do many things, it has done many things. But to use it to move great distances, the cost would be far too high. Too much to shed, too much to use, too much can go wrong.

"Vocal magicks are a strange creature built on similar foundations. But to use one's voice is not the same as warping the fabrics of reality. No, I fear it would be used for other purposes, but it also uses life energy. It is also most unpredictable, only our Oracles can understand its character and they are not fond of sharing. Even with the Imperial family. I was lucky enough my mother even attempted to teach me."

'Attempted' being the operative word. The only child of Dael and Sonyt Ariad, their Crown Princess was already destined to be a Blood Mage. Only an accomplished Blood Mage can control the Aeroglaive, and only an Imperial in control of the weapon has the right to rule the Three and Ten. Vocal magicks are typically unneeded in such situations and although she did cement the basics of the craft, it is still very hard to control for her and so she uses it very little.

Of blood magick, however, she is a prolific mage. Her grip on the Aeroglaive on her arm tightens a small bit, a reminder to herself of her right to the crown of Sidhe as she is reminded of the bond to it.

She sighs, a small heave of her shoulders barely noticeable. "I was thinking something closer, however. If that is no trouble. Markesh is good, but I feel even he would have trouble finding me if I was outside your city limits."

His dedication to his duty and his Imperial was borderline freakish sometimes, she did admit. But even then, her Regent was still quite mortal and she felt there was a range to even his prowess.

"Perhaps when he has caught up, we may decide on a location outside your town then." She hopes this is a reasonable request.

Everything spoken was taken to heart.

Of course, she knew a lot of it already. But there were bits and pieces that had been lost to the echoes of time, during her teenage years. One may say she was still a teenager, at only nineteen years old, yet her wisdom lied beyond her years, no doubt aided by the Triforce of Wisdom. To be forced into rigorous training, to be forced to hide in a secret spot for years on end. It could really do something to someone's mind.

Maybe that was why she desired adventure to such an extent. Traveling in disguise was the closest she'd ever gotten.

As a child, her prophecy felt more like fun and games. She didn't realize just what she was dealing with at that age, and how her own actions were the reason Hyrule was plunged into darkness. All her fault, due to selfishness and childishness. It was a heavy burden on her soul, she could never forget the screams of those who were being attacked as she and Impa fled the castle.

As she was taught the ways of the Sheikah, transforming herself through the Triforce that appeared in her right hand, once Ganondorf had claimed the Golden Power.

Physically, the sage remained stoic. Sweet, unwavering smile. Hands resting in front of her, and blue eyes that spoke for more than her words. She didn't have anyone to teach her magic. Impa's magic was that of Shadow, an ability the princess did not possess. Rather, she trained in safe spots. The Great Fairies themselves as her teachers. With their extreme level of magical ability, they took her under their proverbial wing, each sister specializing in a different form of magic.

Now Zelda had mastered most of it, but there was always room to grow, and improve. There was so much good to be done, but sometimes war was inevitable. That was why she prepared for that inevitability, and would protect her country to no end. Should evil rise again, there would be more to it than her, and her guards. There were six other Sages, and the seven of them would rally together, using their extreme power to bring peace to Hyrule.

Just as the last time.

"I wholeheartedly agree with you on all points."

As for discussing politics, she was inwardly quite pleased with not having to worry about it today. Today was her day of rest, though she'd make exceptions for special visitors. This meant she could enjoy the nature, while simultaneously learning things about a new culture entirely outside of Hyrule.

It was most certainly something to be respected.

"I am unfortunately not certain how things work where you are from, but here, music is a very magical thing. Simply by singing a song, I could take us to any of Hyrule's six magical focal points. I do hope it is alright to list them off."

The Temples where Sages resided, consistently using their magic to aid her in keeping the seal strong. In the end, it was up to Zelda. But the magic of the other Sages was an incredible asset.

"A vast forest. The inside of a volcano. A deep lake. The Goddess of the Sands. A Temple of Light. And... the House of the Dead."

Zelda was no stranger to Hyrule's bloody past. That was what she was trying to stop. The greed, the wrongdoings of royals. The unfairness that some were treated by. The princess was working constantly on getting everything in order, no longer would any be treated unfairly. Nabooru had taught her so much, and helped her unlearn a lot of really bad mindsets that her father had instilled in her over the past year.

"Wherever you desire, we can either walk, or ride upon the winds of magic. If you would like more information on a specific focal point, I would be only too pleased to explain them to you."

A letter to media for their apathy against Shankar-Jaikishen

To, The print media, TV and radio stations,

Dear Sir/Madam, On behalf of the music lovers all over, I share my displeasure over your indifference towards the outstanding music of Shankar Jaikishan. We have noticed that you been deliberately ignoring the vast contribution that the legendary composer duo had made to the music world. Your reporters, disc and video jockeys choose not to mention Shankar Jaikishan’s name anytime their music is played or sung in your programs. Their music, composed nearly seven decades ago, has been heard and sung today in countries across the globe. That the media in chose to ignore them in their own country cannot be tolerated.

Today marks the ninety sixth birth anniversary of Shankar (SJ) and we hope that due recognition is made to him in your programs by playing the memorable music composed with his partner Jaikishan.

Szép kijelzővel, de szolid frissítéssel indított a Sony

a berlini IFA kiállításon. Az XZ3 pletykái kapcsán sokan értetlenül álltak a gyors modellfrissítés előtt, az XZ2-esek ugyan februárban jöttek, de az idei Prémium modell például még csak épphogy a boltok polcaira került. Sajnos a kétkedés jogos volt, az XZ3 nem tűnik világmegválltó modellnek.

A legfőbb újítás talán az egyre többször kritizált megjelenítőt és káváit érinti. A 6 colos, 18:9-es arányú panel ezúttal már OLED(!), méghozzá egy Gorilla Glass 5-tel védett, QHD+ (vagyis 2880 x 1440 pixel) felbontású, HDR10 képes darab, melynek szélei "ráfolynak" az oldalsó élekre (igen, ezt mind ismerjük már évek óta), ezzel csökkentve optkailag is az oldalsó kereteken. Maga a kijelzőtechnológia egyébként a BRAVIA TV-kben is használattal megegyező (azaz az LG műhelyéből származik).

A hardver ezúttal is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, amihez valami érthetetlen módon csak 4 gigabájt rendszermemória jár (igen, ez bizony tényleg kevés lehet hosszú távon), egy csúcsmodellhez képest szintén nem túl acélosan hangzó 64 gigabájtnyi háttértárral. Ez utóbbi legalább bővíthető. Pozitívum, hogy Android Pie rendszert kapott már gyárilag - bár a Sony mostanában amúgy is komolyan veszi a frissítéseket.

A kamera terén azonban nincs frissítés, egész konkrétan még az XZ2 Premium dual objektíves megoldását sem aplikálták. Ehelyett maradt az a már korábban is látott 19 megapixeles Exmor RS, ami az XZ2 és XZ2 Compactban is megtalálható, a maga kis f/2-es numerikus apertúrájával, 1/2,3-as szenzorával, 4K HDR rögzítéssel és akár FullHD-ban is 960fps lassítást produkáló felvételeivel. Semmi ami optikai, azaz se zoom, se képstabilizálás, mindkettő szoftveresen van megoldva. Az előlapra 13 megapixeles kamera került. 

Van AI! Igaz, hogy a legtöbb gyártó ezt az egyébként inkább marketing fogásnak minősíthető AI használatot már meglépte, de most a Sony is alkalmazza rögtön a kmeraban és a kezelőfelületen is. Előbbiben ugyanúgy a megfelelő témához csapja a megfelelő beállításokat, míg utóbbiban a "Side Sense" kulcsszavak égisze alatt az oldalélekre koppintással egy kézzel is elérhetőek kedvenc alkalmazásaink. Ez igazán komoly képesség...

...volt, ezelőtt 4-6 évvel. Elhangzott a Smart Launch marketing kifejezés is, aminek lényege, hogy az oldalra fordított telefon elindítja a kamerát is. Wow. A készülékház az idén bemutatott dizájnelemeket használja, azaza a hátlap homorú, ami szöges ellentétben van a régebbi Sony formatervekkel és sík felületen sem fekszik el jól a készülék, de tenyérbe nagyon jól simul. Amióta egy az USA-ban érvényes szabadalmi akadály miatt az oldalélre helyezett bekapcsológombtól külön választották az ujjlenyomat olvasót, az a szerencsétlen modul azóta próbál megfelelő pozíciót találni a hátlapon - ez ránézésre most sem sikerült túl jól. 

Az XZ3 158 x 73 x 9,9 mm-es, súlya pedig nem kevés, 193 gramm, de ez alapján mondjuk van is benne anyag. No nem akkumulátor, az ugyanis csak 3330 mAh-ás, sokkal inkább az IP68-at biztosító szigetelés és olyan masszív fémváz, ami miatt már a tavalyi generációt sem sikerült meghajlítani egykönnynen.

Igazából ennyi. Semmi olyan, amitől leesne az állunk, sokkal inkább csak egy kijelzőcsere tanúi vagyunk itt. Én kifejezetten újra megszerettem a Sonyt - igaz még az old-school dizájnnal, de az XZ3-at nem tudom hova rakni és értelmét sem látom ennek a sűrű de semmitmondó frissítési ciklusnak. Az ár lemaradt: hivatalosan 800 dollárról indul a készülék október 5-én.
