Just finished Canto II, pretty interesting! Has a good few twists and turns, but overall, a fun time, learning how this game works and all! I am thankful for Seven Faust always being there to help me. Also Sonya did nothing wrong. Also what they're setting up with the mark of cain is interesting. I will see that cunt Demian soon. And that fucking weirdo called Kromer who's just. Kromer. Also god I am gonna fucking miss Vellmori's artworks at the end scenes. Fuck Project Moon for how they handled everything. They handled shit so poorly. Lol.
Anyways fun game!

Sharp nails trailing along his shoulder blades with the intent to comfort as if scratching a persistent itch, not the hard and vicious clawing usually involved in his encounters with Cora, thrust Jarod, violently in its unexpectedness, back into his early childhood. There were nights when he would crawl into bed with his mother, either because he had a bad dream or simply out of a desire for closeness with her, and his father would sleep on the couch to give them space. Jarod felt at once very grown-up, sleeping in the big double bed for adults, and simultaneously tiny and fragile, unable to fill his side of it, relying on his mother to anchor him, prevent him from drowning in the sheets glowing while from the moon in the window. He lied with his back to her, and she ran her nails up and down it, just like Cora was in the present, and waited for him to sink lower into the mattress. Sleep always came over her too quickly, and she drifted off before him so that her hand lie limp between them and he could not ask her to keep going. Jarod would then stare at the wall for the next while, thinking whatever thoughts a seven-year-old boy had to think, until the sound of her snoring dragged him into unconsciousness as well.
The dredging up of this distant memory caused fresh tears to well in Jarod’s eyes, and he choked back another sob. Goddammit, he had lost her, too. This, right here and now, was really all he had left, and the spirit of everyone he had ever cared about would die with him.
If that was not proof enough, though, that he had to keep going, he did not know what was. It was lonely to persist without them, and he thought often about giving up. However, he was it, and the stark reminder that he was it and that his family would all vanish with him was enough to compel to continue teetering forward, lurching blindly into a dark tunnel that seemed to hold nothing else for him.
Cora’s description of her past sounded so staggeringly like his present. If he had to hurt, why shouldn’t everyone else? While he was bent on killing Bob and Sonya, why did it matter how many more innocents got caught up as collateral? Weren’t they guilty by association with the rotten world? Hearing his own long-held sentiments parroted back to him in past tense made him twist his neck to look at her with shining, bloodshot eyes.
“A lot of somethings happened to change your mind, huh?” he rasped. “Think I’m still a few somethings away from that…” But this conversation was at least a start, the first of his own ‘a lot of somethings.’ He got the feeling that he might remember it tomorrow, even if it would be cast over in a dream-like haze.
“I didn’t know,” he said, shaking his head and laying his rough cheek against her breast. That only proved her point, though, that everyone was facing some struggle you know nothing about. He wasn’t the only one who lost someone in the peak collapse. It was easy to say that they were all Brigades and therefore had it coming to them, but then, what had Lola been? If anyone said that shit about her, it would gut him. Not all of them were innocent, that much he was sure of, but…
This was getting a bit too complicated for his current state of inebriation and was, perhaps, something to save for the morning, so he went back to Cora. “I mean, I figured something had to have happened to you for you to end up here. It’s not exactly…” A profession for upstanding young women, died on his tongue. Cora was a good person, and there wasn’t a way to word what he was trying to say that didn’t sound antithetical to his real feelings on the subject. “Well, people don’t just think about… without…” No, he gave up.
“I’m not a good man,” he squeaked, then shook his head more fervently. “Don’t give me that, not yet.” There was so much he had to make up for, and he might never atone for some of it. “If I get better”—because he still wasn’t convinced—“you can give it to me then, not before.”
𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 . while it’s always something she subtly encouraged within her clients who share similarities of isolation &. a lack of faith , coraline can’t ever guess who will take that step to break down the barrier of their own routine to welcome in a frightening , unknown change of the other side ; the light can be just as intimidating as the dark .
remaining quiet , hands continue their soothing journey against war torn skin &. allows jarod the space to let go , words were hardly needed at the moment , not until his sobbing came to a stop &. the tears allowed the heaviness of the emotions he held on his sleeve to ease their weight . some of the tears that stained his cheeks end up on skin , though pays no mind . she wonders if it’s an alcohol fused agreement &. while those never hold any weight to them , it was still something to even entertain the conversation .
the questions has her head tilting slightly to the side , eyes trailing face , attempting to detect any hint of bullshit - hands turn to cup his face , thumbs grazing under his cheeks , trying to think of how to respond to the questions ; it wasn’t that she was ashamed of who she was , where her journey began - she’s just not good at putting things into words in this area .
❛ i used to be a nasty piece of work ❜ the best place to start , right ? ❛ i liked hurting people . i was hurting , as long as it wasn’t me … i didn’t care , the world sure as shit didn’t care about me for what it turned me into . ❜ eyes leave his , head falling back against the pillow , staring up at the ceiling - one hand remains on his face , the other having nails drag lightly over shoulder . tongue presses against cheek , trying to piece thoughts together . deep down , the part that always caught her off guard was very much alive part of of her that craved that destruction again , the violence , it was like an itch begging to be scratched , she’ll refuse to , again &. again , not entertaining it even if crimson offered her a way out for good if the cost was giving into the thoughts just one more time .
❛ something … several somethings happened to me , things i couldn’t ignore ❜ the drug addiction that began to sink her deeper &. deeper into a self made hell . lucas , too , he was a huge starting point of realising the life she was living wasn’t sustainable . a twinge of sadness lingers - she hopes he’s okay . voice returns back to normal , steadier than the weaver that slipped it’s way in for a moment too long ❛ i realised i just … couldn’t do it anymore , there comes a time where you realize the well you’re using to poison the village is also where you get your own water . ❜
❛ the how is complicated . everyone begins their journey different because it started for different reasons . for me , it helped to remember everyone has their own story , some struggle that they’re not telling anyone . i’m not the only one suffering , it doesn’t give me a pass to be cruel . simple , yet oddly effective ❜ eyes seek out jarod’s face again , finally comfortable in words to look up .
❛ you have start with what’s doable for you ; maybe treating strangers in your backseat a little kinder , give their stupidity some grace ❜ index finger taps the tip of his nose , a playful pointed gaze .
coraline doesn’t think she’ll ever see the man he does when looking in the mirror , some feral monster cursed for the rest of his days to live life in a murderous rage . he wasn’t damned , he was human &. although it felt like damnation , it wasn’t grounded in reality . there was always light , jarod simply needed to put in the work , step out of the shade an allow himself to bathe in the sunrays .
❛ whatever it is . you’re a good man &. i have faith in you , you’ll find your way , i know it . ❜

Here Are Some Fat Positive Activists, Educators, Therapists, and Artists to Know!
First and foremost, the pioneer of organized fat activism:
• Bill Fabrey (he/him)
Bill Fabrey, a self-proclaimed fat admirer, founded NAAFA (the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance) in 1969 after gaining an understanding of the day-to-day oppression and discrimination faced by his wife, Joyce. Fabrey founded the organization in hopes to raise awareness of weight stigma, criticize biased studies, and increase overall acceptance and accessibility to fat Americans. He is considered one of the pioneers of the fat liberation movement, and is heavily involved to this day.
• Judy Freespirit, Sara Fishman, Lynn McAfee, Ariana Manow, & Gudrun Fonfa (she/her for each)
(Members of The Fat Underground, 1979)
Fat, radical, feminist members of NAAFA! Their agenda was much more aggressive than NAAFA’s, and eventually they broke off and formed their own group called The Fat Underground, which acted as a catalyst in the creation and mobilization of the fat liberation movement. Based in LA in the 1970s, the Fat Underground did not fight to change discriminatory laws but rather discriminatory thoughts and practices in different aspects of society, which included those of doctors and other health professionals who perpetuated the unhealthy habits encouraged by diet culture. In 1973, Judy Freespirit and Alderbaran published the “Fat Liberation Manifesto” which establishes that fat people are entitled to what they were denied on a daily basis: “human respect and recognition.” The other objectives then outline the commercial exploitation of fat bodies by both corporations and scientific institutions. (x) I will go into more detail about the Fat Underground in my next post, “The History of Fat Activism!”
• Dr. Lindo Bacon (they/them), PhD
(no photo)
Creator of the concept of HAES (Health At Every Size).
Dr. Bacon is best known for their paradigm-shifting research and advocacy upending the weight discourse. They have mined their deep academic proficiency, wide-ranging clinical expertise and own personal experience to write two best-selling books, Health at Every Size: The Surprising Truth About Your Weight, and the co-authored Body Respect: What Conventional Health Books Get Wrong, Leave Out, or Just Plain Fail to Understand about Weight. Both are credited with transforming the weight discourse and inspiring a hopeful new course for the fat liberation movement. Dr. Bacon holds their PhD in physiology, as well as graduate degrees in psychology and exercise metabolism. Dr. Bacon formerly taught at City College of San Francisco, in the Health Education, Psychology, Women’s Studies, and Biology Departments. A professor and researcher, for almost two decades Dr. Bacon has taught courses in social justice, health, weight and nutrition; they have also conducted federally funded studies on health and weight and published in top scientific journals. Their research has been supported by grants from the United States Department of Agriculture and the National Institutes of Health. A truly great pioneer in medical health research!

21 answers for a fanfic 2021
1. fandoms you wrote for this year
Star Trek: Voyager
Star Trek: Picard
Star Trek: Lower Decks
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Ted Lasso
2. favorite fic you wrote this year
I’m really proud of The Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy. I’ve always wanted to write a character backstory, and am grateful to have had the opportunity.
3. favorite fic you read this year
I fangirled — hard — for Who Shot AR’s Everything Will Come Right (If You Only Believe), a Julius Eaton/Kay Eaton origin story from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s “Far Beyond the Stars” universe. I misted up for parts of @marymoss1971’s The Inspiration, in which newly minted Captain Kathryn Janeway visits a mentor, Captain Benjamin Maxwell, who is in prison due to the events of TNG’s “The Wounded.” I, of course, delighted in @ussjellyfish bringing Kirsten and Matthew Clancy into her Star Trek: Janeways universe with her delightfully naughty Unscheduled Time and sweet what we can. Oh, and the Michael Burnham & Paul Stamets conversation in SiderumInCaelo’s i don’t forgive you (but please don’t hold me to it) was exactly the between-the-seasons discussion I needed for those two characters.
4. favorite opening line/scene you wrote this year
I’m pleased with both opening scenes of Fly Me to the Moon, a non-linear Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris story that examines four universes of their relationship — three canon and one AU.
5. favorite ending line/scene you wrote this year
Again, I’m pleased with both endings to Fly Me to the Moon. I love the feeling of tying up a story with a little bow, and I think I did it well on that one.
6. a trope you wrote this year
I actually kicked off the year with a Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris four times, one time: Console Me (Four Times Paris and Janeway Almost Had Sex and One Time They Did).
7. pairings you wrote this year
Just looking at main pairings, not sub-pairings, I wrote:
Jet Manhaver & Tom Paris
Kirsten Clancy/Original Character (Matthew Clancy)
Raffi Musiker/Seven of Nine
Kirsten Clancy & Jean-Luc Picard
Kirsten Clancy & Sonya Gomez
Kirsten Clancy & Edward Jellico
Kirsten Clancy & Simon Tarses
(untagged, but I’m proud of it) Kirsten Clancy & Tom Paris
Kathryn Janeway/Tom Paris
Kathryn Janeway & Tom Paris
Chakotay/Kathryn Janeway
Tom Paris/B’Elanna Torres
Kathryn Janeway/B’Elanna Torres
Kathryn Janeway/Kes
Kathryn Janeway/Harry Kim
The Doctor (Star Trek)/Kathryn Janeway
Keeley Jones/Roy Kent (Ted Lasso)
8. a fic regret from this year
I don’t know.
9. a song that helped you write
Fly Me to the Moon (of course). That fic had an entire playlist. And I have, ahem, four Clancy playlists.
10. total number of fics you posted
I think 14 [edit: 15 — another little one happened]. (It’s a little hard to tell with so many crossovers within the Trekverse and one fic that carries over from last year.)
11. total number of words you posted
92,769 [edit: 92,960 — yes, the little addition was very little]
12. most popular fic written this year
By hits, kudos, subscriptions, bookmarks, and comment threads, Fly Me to the Moon was my most popular fic this year, which makes me happy because I am very proud of it. (Shout out to beta extraordinaire @caladeniablue! 🎉)
13. least popular fic written this year
It’s a little tougher to tell least popular, but I think In Bed has my lowest hit and kudos count. That’s okay. I knew my E-rated vignettes that dip into The Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy universe through the perspective of Matthew Clancy wouldn’t get a lot of traffic. I’m pleased with the work, though, and that’s important.
14. longest completed fic you posted this year
That would be The Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy, at 32,536 words.
15. shortest completed fic you posted this year
As a stand-alone story, the shortest is Starlight, a 154-word, G-rated, Chakotay/Kathryn Janeway musing on the ways different people see and express love.
16. favorite character to write about this year
Kirsten Quayle Clancy
17. a fic you didn’t expect to write
All of them.
18. most memorable comment/review
So many! When Fly Me to the Moon comments became a forum for Tom Paris character analysis, I could feel my fandom soul begin to ascend. Also, every time someone commented some variation of, “How did you make me care about Kirsten Clancy?” or, “I don’t usually ship this, but …” or, “I’m so happy you wrote this friendship/scenario/pairing,” my writerly heart filled with joy. I don’t want to single anyone out, but comments wishing for an Autobiography of Kirsten Clancy book club, comments from regular commenters who said they tried something new because I wrote it, and comments from re-readers were all especially meaningful.
19. trends you noticed in your writing this year
I don’t know why but, across three stories, I wrote experiences during and immediately after Wolf 359 for Kathryn Janeway, Tom Paris, Raffi Musiker, and Kirsten Clancy, plus glimpses for Nick Locarno and Edward Jellico, the latter of whom was in two stories, so he got two experiences — and two characterizations.
20. fics you wanted to write but didn’t
Real life has been demanding this year. I have a few fics I hope to finish next year.
21. something you want to write next year
I’d like to finish my post-Endgame Kathryn Janeway/Mark Johnson story. I also have a few other WIPs rattling around. But I just don’t know.
If anyone has questions on any of that, please ask. Also, if you write, I’d love to read your fanfic 2021 answers!

Hello, fellow ShikaSaku lovers! Guess what time of the year it is?
Yes, it’s ShikaSaku Week 2020! The main event of the year, during the worst year of the millennium, of course. We don’t do things by half, here at ShikaSakuWeek Ltd. For this edition, we have an interesting mix of prompts for you, and we hope you’ll be inspired by them and give us even more content than last time! Fun fact: ShikaSaku Hanami 2020 was the most prolific week since the event was created, and we know you can do even better this time! Let’s get started ♥
— The Rules
• you can post anywhere! Tumblr, AO3, FF.net, DA, Twitter, Pillowfort, go wild! • please send us a link to the fanwork so we can add it to the masterpost • tag it with #shikasakuweek or @shikasaku-week to help us find it • the only requirement is for ShikaSaku to be the main pairing in your fanwork. It can be a fic, a fanart, a fanvid, a gifset, an edit, it’s up to you!
When: Sept 30th to Oct 7th. We would have loved for it to match with Shikamaru’s birthday like we usually do, but we want to let people know a bit in advance, so herewe are.
Please, no character bashing. We’re here to create content for our ship, not ruin other people’s day.
This time, you get two prompts, like for Hanami, with a twist! One prompt is our traditional group of obscure words and obtuse metaphors. And the second prompt is a song from which we picked two lyrics and you have to find a way to work one of them into your story (bonus point if you use the quote word for word, but it’s not mandatory, you can just be inspired by the lyrics).
You get to choose if you’d rather use our pretentious word prompts, or the song lyrics (and if you’re not inspired by the lyrics we picked, you can still use the song prompt and pick your own lyrics in it to integrate in your story! We just encourage you to challenge yourself with the limitation of the lyrics we picked).
We tried our best to pick as many different genres of songs as possible, so everyone can find something they like. So there’s pop, rap, folk/trad, indie, hard rock, glam metal, you get the idea. Have fun!
— The Prompts Light & Shadow Theme
DAY ONE streetlights at dusk Insomnia by IAMX Lyrics #1 “ Oh, my god, you're beautiful Why do you stay with this neurotic fool?” Lyrics #2 “ I don't know what is happening to me Or if I'll die, 'cause I just never sleep”
DAY TWO like a moth (to flame) Moby Dick by Jakey Lyrics #1 “I'm not the one that you wanted But damn it I think I could be what you need” Lyrics #2 “I know you better than you know yourself Well, my self said "you can go straight to hell"
DAY THREE chiaroscuro/clair-obscur The Seed by Aurora Lyrics #1: “Through dirt and shadow I grow I’m reaching light through the struggle” Lyrics #2: “Suffocate me So my tears can be rain”
DAY FOUR eclipse (looking for the moon) Bushes and Briars by McDonnel Trio Lyrics #1: “I overheard a voice, it rang so loud and clear Long time have been waiting for the coming of my dear” Lyrics #2: “Sometimes I am weary and troubled in my mind But if I should go to love, my love he will say, "Nay." If I show to him my madness, he'll never love me again”
DAY FIVE Well then, kiss me,—since my mother left her blessing on my brow, There has been a something wanting in my nature until now” “Though my soul may set in darkness, i will rise in perfect light; i have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night Only The Good Die Young by Kissin’ Dynamite Lyrics #1: “I'll never sleep, how long the game will go? I have to burn bright like a star” Lyrics #2: “Only the good die young Living as a rebel, dying as a rebel”
DAY SIX (like a crystal) he diffracts the light
The Chain by Fleetwood Mac Lyrics #1: “Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise Run in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies” Lyrics #2: “Break the silence Damn the dark, damn the light And if you don't love me now You will never love me again”
DAY SEVEN the night is ours (i want, i want) Her Sweet Kiss by Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli Lyrics #1: “I'm weak my love, and I am wanting If this is the path I must trudge I'll welcome my sentence, give to you my penance Garroter, jury, and judge” Lyrics #2: “A storm raging on the horizon Of longing and heartache and lust She's always bad news, it's always lose, lose”
DAY EIGHT (bonus day) free day or remix challenge
If you’re interested in the remix challenge and didn’t participate in it last edition, here’s a quick explanation: Basically, you browse through the masterposts of the previous years and pick a story or art you like a lot. Then you write/draw an interpretation of that fanwork! Summarize in your head what the core idea of the fanwork you picked is (for exemple: Shikamaru and Sakura are captured. The story is their escape.) and use that to make your own, based on that same premise. It’s basically like making a movie remake, or writing fanfiction based on the canon of something you like (we have a feeling you know how to do that, don’t you?). So there you go, that’s the remix challenge! We hope you’ll enjoy yourselves and that you’ll rediscover works from previous years!
Once again, thank you for participating in ShikaSaku Week. I (Mako) can’t believe how far we’ve come, from this little event in 2017 where two people and a half knew about it, to the massive (for a rarepair, at least) amount of content from the last edition. Thank you so, so much for being here every year, you’re the best. Let’s celebrate ShikaSaku one more time!

Sky of Sinners Worldbuilding: Monsters
In Sky of Sinners, after the Immortality Virus prevented death for all humans and wiped most of them out, it didn’t just affect one species. In fact, the entirety of Earth’s ecosystem was affected by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Animals began to act strange, some species died out from an overabundance of predators, and others had populations explode from lack of it. Pets became a burden and were freed from captivity in mass, causing common animals like guinea pigs and parrots to enter back into the wild where they haven’t been for generations. The new animals in the wild weren’t the worst part though. It was the species which was never meant to reach Earth in the first place.
Ganymedans, the alien species which cause most of the problems in Sky of Sinners, are organisms which originate from one of Jupiter’s moons, called Ganymede. It’s Jupiter’s largest moon and is actually more massive than Pluto, making it the ninth largest object in our solar system, and it looks like this:
Ganymede History and Geological Makeup
The name “Ganymede” came from a Greek myth surrounding a Trojan boy named Ganymede who was abducted by Zeus and forced into immortality to become his cupbearer for eternity. Hmm...I wonder why I picked this moon o.o
Due to the ice that exists below the planet’s surface as well as having a magnetic field surrounding the planet, life was able to exist on this planet. Ganymedans don’t need to eat or drink but they enjoy living below the surface of planets and absorb minerals from dirt and sand, which makes them particularly dangerous since it’s impossible to know when they’re about to strike.
Ganymedans are the top predators in their environments, meaning that most of their skills and weapons are tailored to their environment. While underground, they formed colonies and even technological advancements. However, the main threat to the Ganymedan species is itself. Constant wars ravage the planet, forcing Ganymedans to craft newer and better weapons, which is why there are an abundance of alien weapons on Earth: they brought the weapons not to kill humans, but to kill each other.
Ganymedans came to Earth by accident, hitching rides on asteroids and chunks of rock that break off from their planet, burrowing their way in to survive. The Ganymedans have a hive mind, connecting every member of their species, so when the first few Ganymedans came to Earth and learned about it, they sent word back to their planet, and within a few decades, about 80% of the Ganymedan population resided on Earth. Earth had what Ganymede never did: biomes, complex organism-made structures, and most importantly: heat.
Ganymedan Sociology and Physiology
Since Ganymede is smaller than Earth, when they settled around the world, their once strong legs and capable bodies were crushed by the weight of the planet, crippling them and rendering them only partially effective. The number of legs ranges from individual to individual, but most have around six or seven legs holding up the Ganymedan’s brain, heart, and reproductive system (they have no digestive system) in a tough sack. They look similar to Louise Bourgeois’s “Maman”, created in 1999, which stands in London:
This sculpture is about 30 feet high and Ganymedans stand at about 10, but you catch my drift.
Though at first they appear mindless, their collective intelligence allowed them to learn human language and even negotiation. In order to control Earth, they made a deal with the humans for something they know they desperately want: infinite immortality for the Earth’s resources. After intense United Nations collaboration and fierce protest from advocacy groups across the globe, the humans agreed.
Now Ganymedans roam the stripped planet for reasons unknown, occasionally attacking humans but generally living below the surface with their heat and wealth of mineral deposits. No one knows when they’re going to leave -- if at all.

Smackdown Fake Rankings, 9/6/2020
Men’s heavyweight singles division - babyfaces
Bray Wyatt
Jeff Hardy (WWE intercontinental champion)
Jey Uso
Big E
Matt Riddle
Drew Gulak
Men’s heavyweight singles division - heels
Roman Reigns (WWE universal champion)
Braun Strowman
AJ Styles
Sheamus
King Corbin
Shorty G
WWE’s official position seems to be that Reigns and Strowman are heels and Wyatt is a babyface. This would have been a lot clearer if any of them had done a full-fledged turn--as it is, Braun and Roman really haven’t done anything Bray wouldn’t do. But at least they’ve technically got the heels and faces balanced out over here.
They’ve begun setting up Reigns vs. Uso and Hardy vs. Styles vs. Sami Zayn. It looks like Big E vs. Sheamus and Corbin vs. Riddle will just keep going. Wyatt and Strowman probably need to settle their issues once and for all. Man, it’d be real funny if they do a Hell in a Cell match, considering that each of them was involved in the two cell matches that failed to settle anything.
In the long term, I get the feeling they’re prepping Big E for a main event run. They could go with Reigns vs. Wyatt for Wrestlemania, but I think Reigns vs. Big E would be more productive. As for Wyatt, if he’s going to be a face I’d feed midcard heels to him like he’s mid-90s Undertaker. Of course, they’re talking about doing another draft to rearrange the rosters, so none of this may matter in a few weeks.
Women’s singles division - babyfaces
Sasha Banks
Mandy Rose
Nikki Cross
Tamina
Dana Brooke
Women’s singles division - heels
Bayley (WWE Smackdown women’s champion)
Lacey Evans
Bayley just turned on Banks the other day, so Sasha hasn’t had a chance to get back up and do anything babyface-like. All the same, I assume she’s turning face, although knowing WWE she’ll just continue being a jerk who happens to feud with heels.
Other than Banks and Bayley, the most heavily promoted woman on the roster may be Rose. Thing is, Mandy only had two or three matches all summer, and now that she’s done with Sonya Deville it’s possible they’ll just present her as Otis’s girlfriend. Everyone else here (Cross, Tamina, Brooke, and Evans) hasn’t done much besides lose a battle royale a few weeks ago.
With Banks and Bayley split up, and Cross trying to figure out if Alexa Bliss is turning heel or not, there are no women’s tag teams on Smackdown. They’ll probably throw one together after the champions (Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax) run out of contenders on Raw or NXT. But that might not be for a few months.
Men’s tag team division - babyfaces
Heavy Machinery - Otis (Mr. Money in the Bank) & Tucker
Lucha House Party - Kalisto & Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado
Men’s tag team division - heels
Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro (WWE Smackdown tag team champions)
The Miz & John Morrison
I think they’re building to Lucha House Party challenging for the tag titles. Meanwhile Morrison has stolen Otis’s Money in the Bank briefcase, potentially setting up a two-on-two match over a contract for a singles title match.
I don’t get the sense that WWE has a plan for Otis and the MITB contract. Fans keep wondering if he can use it to challenge for the tag title, which reveals two things. First, people ask questions like this because they cannot discern the answers for themselves from where Otis’s storyline is headed, because WWE has done nothing to push him except as part of a comedy tag team. Second, the fans can tell Otis would get creamed by anyone who’s been universal champion lately, so they’d rather see him cash in for a match he could actually win.
No matches in over 30 days: Alexa Bliss, Bo Dallas, Carmella, Daniel Bryan, Jaxson Ryker, Mojo Rawley, Sami Zayn, Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake
Bliss hasn’t wrestled since she was “abducted” by Wyatt, and they’re doing a thing where we’re supposed to wonder how the experience changed her. Zayn was gone for months waiting out the pandemic, but I suppose he finally decided he couldn’t wait forever.
As far as I can determine Carmella, Bryan, and Rawley haven’t appeared at a WWE show in person since the big COVID-19 outbreak in June. I assume Bryan decided to stay home for the safety of his family and won’t be back soon. Carmella posted some workout footage recently, so even if she caught COVID in the June outbreak, she’s clearly healthy now. Mojo’s unexplained absence, however, is perfectly consistent with his entire WWE tenure.
Ryker, Cutler, and Blake have been in the doghouse ever since Ryker picked a really bad time to kiss Donald Trump’s ass. I don’t think Dallas has even appeared on TV in 2020.
Part-time/semi-retired: Goldberg, John Cena, Kane
Inactive
Elias (chest/shoulder - pectoralis tear)
Ember Moon (right ankle - Achilles tendon tear)
Jimmy Uso (knee - unspecified injury)
Kofi Kingston (unspecified injury - maybe kayfabe?)
Lars Sullivan (knee - unspecified injury)
Xavier Woods (right ankle - Achilles tendon tear)
Sullivan was originally projected to be back by June 2020. We know nothing about Kofi’s situation except that he was supposed to be out for “six weeks,” and that was six weeks ago. Woods should be ready soon, and I assume that’s why he’s doing the Talking Smack show. Although, given Ember’s problems--her injury may end her career--you can’t take an Achilles tear lightly.
I don’t know what the timetable is for Jimmy Uso. My guess is that Roman Reigns squashes Jey Uso on September 27, and then they both return together as a tag team. But that might be six weeks or six months from now.
There doesn’t appear to be any info on Elias’s injury beyond the kayfabe reports from WWE. We know he has pectoralis tear, but not whether the tear is at the shoulder or breastbone, or the severity of the tear. The only word is that he’s expected to miss Wrestlemania 37, which is seven months away.

YA GIRL GOT THE GREAT COMET BOOK!
and then binge read it all in one night. Anyway, these are some of my fave bits, somewhat in order!
In an email to the cast in 2012, Prologue’s original title was “Look It Up In Your Program, You’re In A Complicated Russian Novel, What Did You Expect?”. The lyrics “We’d appreciate it, thanks a lot” was also “What did you expect?”, but Rachel Chavkin suggested Dave be nicer to the audience.
People are referred to as Unicorns on two occasions, “This cast of beautiful unicorns” by Jason Eagen on Pg 22, and “We’ve always said that The Great Comet is an ensemble of unicorns” by Sam Pinkleton on Pg 56.
“This is what happens when you mix mass anxiety with a lot of vodka.”-Paloma Young, about the costumes.
Andrey is there during the Duel, rocking the party from Pierre’s study-turned-DJ-booth. He has been nicknamed both “DJ Andrey 3000” and “DJ Dreteen 12”.
Pierre is a conspiracy theorist, and the robe for Old Prince Bolkonsky’s costume was once used in some shrouded Freemason activity.
Phillipa Soo and Nick Choksi went to Juilliard together!
For about a week at A.R.T., Nicholas Belton gave out Scott Stangland’s phone number during Letters with a note reading, “My friend Pierre is lonely, won’t you give him a call?”. Scott received several awkward voicemails and text messages from women wanting to know if he was busy later.
When Josh Groban joined the team, Josh Canfield decided to start calling him Josh 2, and Groban referred to him as Josh 1 since Canfield had been there first.
You know that snow machine in No One Else? Well when it was added, it took a few shows to calibrate it to snow the right amount, so on occasion Natasha would be singing her sweet love song to the moon in the middle of a full on blizzard.
“Pierre shook his head and arms as if attacked by mosquitos or bees”- a line from War and Peace, which Dave desperately wanted to include. For the sequel!
Josh Groban named his accordion Olga.
Lucas Steele says that he first thought Dave seemed pensive and slightly gruff-looking, but he later learned that he was “an absolute teddy bear”.
One of the first times Lucas sang Natasha and Anatole, Rachel Chavkin had the casting director Henry sing as Natasha. Lucas had no problem with this, and said he knew he was capable of having chemistry with a tin can if needed. He then proceeded to make direct eye contact with Henry for seven whole measures before slightly cocking his head and flashing him a smile. Everyone at the table laughed.
Now we get to the actual lyric annotations!
The original draft of Prologue was “a lyrical nightmare” and features lines such as “and Dolokhov, his friend, is fierce. Wouldn’t wanna mess with him.” and “Mary and the Old Prince are minor characters. They’ll get things going and you’ll never see them again.”
Sometimes during rehearsal Pippa would sing “Oh I can soothe myself with ironing” instead of “irony”
The first draft of the show did not have the Duel, but rather a scene where Pierre, Anatole, and Dolokhov get roaring drunk, tie a policeman to a bear, and throw them both into a river. This was actually in a workshop, using a large stuffed bear. Sadly, this idea did not survive the workshop.
Dave and Rachel would say that Balaga’s age is probably a few millennia into immortal.
Denisov has a speech impediment which is transliterated in different ways, one of which is literally the uwu voice. Meaning Paul Pinto originally gave his speech in the Duel as “As the advewsawies have wefused a weconciliation, we shaw pwease pwocede with the duew…” This was cut.
Dave calls the strings after Anatole and Natasha’s kiss “the strings of doom”
During rehearsals, sometimes Brittain would sing “I burst into flames” instead of “I burst into sobs.” (Starchild, anyone?)
“On the day that Sonya decided to save her” Oh so Dolokhov is an omniscient narrator, at least when it comes to the woman he once proposed to.
“What a foot she has”- Dave’s annotation literally just says “Anatole is totally into feet”
Nick Choksi, aka Dolokhov, cannot whistle, so when they say “When they reached the gate Dolokhov whistled” either Or or Andrey has to do it for him.
“So thankful I am here on earth during the same time Grace Mclean is visiting.”-Dave Malloy, page 192.
Sometimes during rehearsals, Dave would sing “I have been snorkeling” instead of “I have been studying.”
The high C# on PETERSBUUUURG was written as a joke in a moment of Dave’s frustration that he forgot to about until rehearsals when Lucas just...did...THAT.
On the page with the Pierre & Andrey lyrics, there’s just???? A picture of a drumset on the side????? With no context whatsoever??? Dave Malloy what????
Sorry this was so long! I might make another post with the great ponytail hairstyle Lucas had on page 112 because it wouldn’t let me put it here, but that’s all for this one.
#great comet#Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812#npatgco1812#dave malloy#rachel chavkin#lucas steele#phillipa soo#this took forever#but it was worth it#dave malloy I have questions

Lost in Space 04
Hello, Isolans! We have conducted an activity check for the month of October!
If your character isn’t on this list, make sure to check this page to see how many stars that character has earned this month! Stars can be used for purchases at the marketplace.
The blogs that were removed from the Isola Radiale masterlist are under the cut. Note that both blogs with broken links and deactivated accounts will be included both at the top of this list and in their proper categories.
If you were removed in error, please simply send a re-application message. Several different people work on the activity checks, so it’s possible there are mistakes! If this happens to you, you will be able to keep everything you previously had, you just may be placed in a different residence.
Our general activity rules regarding checks are as follows:
Make at least three in-character posts during a calendar month.
Only one drabble and/or meme response of 300+ words counts as activity.
One-liners or minis not tagged #isola mini also do not count.
Please Note: If you are removed during two consecutive activity checks, you will not be allowed to re-apply as that character for two calendar months.
Additionally, anyone removed during the activity check will have a 12-hour window from the time of posting to re-claim their character. Any character not reclaimed during that period will be open to the community at large.
