Antonette was looking around for empty houses or apartments she could move into after she was done working for her transfer papers in New Athens University. As she was looking around the town hall, where all available spaces can be seen, she felt another presence beside her. She took a glance and noticed it was Alabaster and it had been a long time since they had talked so she decided to make conversation. “Hey, Al, long time no see!”

Friends Never Say Goodbye || Alabaster + Annabeth

It had been far too long since Annabeth had set foot in New Rome. After her years at the academy here, she had resided solely in either Camp Half-Blood or New Athens. Leaving the new city near the Greek camp had been out of the question while it had been under construction, as Annabeth wasn’t about to trust anyone with what had been her pet project for the last few years. But now that the new city was mostly complete, and there was nothing she could do outside of New Athens, she figured it was about time she visited some of her old friends in New Rome. Already she had seen a few familiar faces, and she stopped to talk with each of them.

Now it was halfway through the day and Annabeth had made a coffee stop to refuel. Her love for coffee knew no bounds, and as she exited the shop she couldn’t help but scan the nearby tables- looking for familiar faces. But it was also a part of the habit she’d adopted ever since falling into Tartarus, one of hyper awareness of her surroundings, as if something might go wrong at any moment. This time something didn’t exactly go wrong, but it was unexpected. There was a familiar face at one of the tables- though it was one from a memory that seemed lifetimes ago. Alabaster Torrington. For a moment her emotions at seeing him didn’t even register, though she knew she needed to talk with him. It wasn’t a question of if she would talk to him as she was already grabbing some sugar cubes from nearby and walking at an alarming pace towards his table. Dropping the cubes into the tea before her old friend, her face was stony and set— her infamous steely gaze at it’s hardest. “Alabaster. Long time no see. Fancy meeting you here. Drinking tea. In New Rome. Breathing. Alive. Perfectly fine. Perfectly able to tell someone that you’re perfectly breathing and alive and fine.

Conrad wasn’t so much scared of the Labyrinth, as he disliked being under ground. He wouldn’t openly admit his large fear of being anywhere below the surface though. He just knew he had to get through this to get to one of the temples down here. He was walking, hands in his pockets, when he spotted someone familiar. “Alabaster?” He called, seeing if it really was him. He hadn’t seen Alabaster since before The Recall. While he wouldn’t call them close friends, they did often share a table at his local coffee shop. He never would have guessed the other boy was a demigod.
