my point overall (if i have to be clear) btw is that manpain is a bad trope overall and rooted in misogyny but also it’s still something that can happen but the character in question can still be compelling. like shadow’s grief being used to manipulate him constantly, or how taranza basically indirectly caused sectonia’s death and he has to cope with how he enabled her all the way through until it was too late
