Though I have been wondering what Shadow's beef with Sonic really boils down to. I highly doubt it but maybe Sonic reminds him more of Maria than he even wants to believe? Maybe at times he even sounds like her? Idk ??? How carefree and enthusiastic she was, helping shadow come out of his shell. IDK im a sonic noob !! He probably feels like this about a lot of people!

I can understand that there's more parallels with Maria and Amy than with Sonic and Amy. Putting myself in Shadow's shoes; I have a sister, I love like Shadow loves Maria. We are the best fucking friends. I can talk to her about ANYTHING. We're a team. But when it comes to finding a romantic partner, I dont want to look at my partner and just think of my sister lmao. But I would like a similar feeling. Comfortable, understanding, to have that team work, and able to talk about anything to them. And I think Sonic and Shadow have that if things were different I guess. Although Sonic doesn't always talk Shadow down from a decision, it does seem like they both can come to an agreement. "Two sides of the same coin". Like yeah, Sonic might've not been able to change Shadow's mind on going back to the Ark BUT I feel like Sonic probably wouldn't even try. All my thoughts on sonic movie 3 that I can write out in one post (spoilers included)

Where do I start? There’s so much I love about this movie, and just a few things I’m a bit disappointed about. The good stuff first of course.

They’re a family! Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles really act like brothers here and I love that! I also love that Tom and Maddie are still there as parental figures but don’t hold them back from being ultra powerful beings. They trust that they’ll be alright on their mission, and are supportive when they ask for help.

I loved Shadow in this, because of course I did. I was a little hesitant about Keanu voicing him at first, but it really grew on me. Every scene with him looked amazing.

Shadow and Maria are so cute! We’ve never gotten to see them having fun together and it just feels so special that we get that now.

The parallels between Tom and Sonic versus Maria and Shadow! So good!

The action scenes! Every single action scene was awesome!

I kind of like what they did with shadows origin story. It leaves it kind of open ended whether he’s from the same planet as the rest of them or if he’s from the black arms. It’s something that could be explored more in depth in a potential spin off.

METAL SONIC! This leads to so many questions!

God they really turned up the fruitiness of stonebotnik. If you thought they were gay af in the other films they take it to another level. Robotniks last message was basically a love confession.

Both so many references to the games and call backs to the previous films.

I know it isn’t everyone’s favorite thing, but I enjoy the goofiness in these movies. It’s just unadulterated fun, and I feel like that’s really at the core of what Sonic is. Along with the seriousness and the hardships, he just loves life and his friends so much. And we to get to see him growing as a hero from this, balancing that carefree attitude with moments of reflection and maturity when it’s really needed.

And now, just a few things I was left a bit disappointed with:

Look, Maria’s illness doesn’t define her as a character. It’s not her one and only trait that makes her notable. But I think they missed out on the deeper connection that she and Shadow have because of it. That Shadow was literally created because of her. She is his very REASON for existing, she is his whole world. Her death takes such a deep toll because of that. His reason for existence is gone, taken away from him, ripped from his arms. Of course their story is still touching in the movie, and grief over a loss like that is powerful, but there’s a bigger character arc that they’re missing out on. Who is shadow now that she’s gone? What purpose does he now live for?

The pacing is just a bit too fast. I know that’s really saying something about a Sonic movie, but it just stood out more to me than in the other films. It felt like we didn’t get to take in a lot of the hard hitting scenes. Instead most of the more long drawn out scenes were focused on the comedic scenes. And I know I said I like the goofiness of the movies, and I do, I just think it shouldn’t be the only aspect we really get to take in. While the second movie I felt like they should have cut down, I think they could have benefited from just a few more minutes of runtime. Just something that let us breathe and take in a scene or two.

Those are probably my only real complaints about the movie, but they really hold be back from being absolutely in love with everything about this movie. But just like the other movies, despite my few complaints, I had an amazing time with it! My friend that came with me really enjoyed herself, we were laughing together at it, and it was great! I’m already gushing with my other friends who just saw the movie about everything I loved in it.

My one regret is that I didn’t go to a fan event to watch it. My theater was packed, but everyone was just so quiet? Like, everyone after was talking about how much they enjoyed the movie on the way out of the theater, but there was just something in the air. It was a smaller theater, and everyone there either had kids with them or was clearly a Sonic fan wearing merch and dressing up, but there was just this weird vibe. It’s hard to explain. It’s sort of like everyone there was afraid to be seen as a “weird fan”, and while I admit I was low key worried about people cheering at Maria’s death, I think we somehow over corrected? Like even at parts that got a laugh out of me and my family it felt like everyone was just quiet. Maybe the jokes didn’t land as hard with them, but even the moments that I know got everyone hyped felt quiet (I know from what people walking out of the movie were saying). Which is totally fine, but it’s just nothing compared to the energy when I saw the second movie. Of course that was because our game club had rented out the theater as a big trip. Still, I really just missed that energy. I loved feeling as excited as everyone around me that was watching it. As much as my friend enjoyed herself, it just wasn’t the same feeling as being in a room of people cheering.

I’ll admit though, I was the exact same. I’m an autistic person who’s been masking my entire life, if the audience is dead then I’m dead on the outside while I’m internally screaming. I at least had my friend to whisper all my excitement to.

I’m sure there will be many people who have the opposite experience in the theaters. If you can find a fan event to go to, I hope everyone who looks forward to things movie doesn’t feel the need to hide their excitement. (Except maybe don’t cheer at a child getting killed, that is just a bit too much). But for everything else, don’t be afraid to show your excitement. Don’t be ashamed at cheering at a laser shooting the moon, or pissing on the moon if that’s the meme that got you into this franchise. Cheer at super sonic and super shadow. Cheer when live and learn plays. Cheer at the end credits (which is when I really got to hear my theater whisper in excitement). Please, never be ashamed of your interests and what makes you excited.

Carbine is the Egg Councils Cyborg Enforcer/Engineer. In Sonic Prime he would be tracking Sonic thru the city until Sonic the resistance are in a building and Sonic knowing how he looks wpuld figer this is new yoke Al. Cybernetic limbs giving Carbine a Advantage in fights. And his ears giving him a better sense of hereing. Even tho the council ag first could use these to contole him and hurt him. By the end of prime he would be free of that and well. Would more stick close to nines as well. Both seen as bad guys and not the best to trust. Dose lead to a good friendship between them tho

Iceberg is a Captain of his own crew. Sold to be sent away by his mother. Spent sometime being shipped around until he broke free, and broke the others free and took over the ship. Thru the fights Al lost part his ear and bit of one of his tails. He gained the name Iceberg due to he purposely crashed the ship into a Iceberg. Sinking it. But all the captive on the ship managed to escape and the ship Al crashed managed to float. As time went Iceberg became the Captain and his crew would make sure any ships holding people who was to be sold on to others be freed and the sellers would pay. Also Very much swashbuckling. This Al would be seen as the more fruity out of the Als in this AU of Prime

Savage is a not as intresting. Simple thing. He is a Savage fighter, bite, claws, punches, kicks. You name it. But beside the fact he is fine to hurt. He's sweet. Only hurting when needs be. No one knows his perents or anything about him. Nether dose he honestly but being alone in the wild he became a good fighter and not to be messed with. But long as you are close to him he won't bite

(Okay. Yes they are orange. Fitting in the lore of why main Al is purple, would not be able to be done in Prime. In Prime we have no clue about shadow, so newyoke al. the hole ultimate lifeform thing dosnt exist, only robots so the hole DNA thing would not exist. No starline, no shadow ect. So only modified Alvis would be Carbine (newyoke) who's a cyborg)

i did already go on a whole rant in a different post about how much i hate dulcy the dragon, but i wouldn’t say that’s much of a controversial opinion considering most people don’t know who she is 😭

i don’t have many tbh but i’ll share the few i do have

first off i don’t like sonic x that much and it’s definitely a lot of people’s favorite sonic show. i think there’s a generational difference, seeing as though my fav sonic show is sonic boom 💀 i’ve only seen the first season so like my opinion could very well change if or when i finish it, especially cus i’ve seen clips of later stuff such as shadow and the chaotix being introduced and that seemed cool and a lot more interesting to me compared to the formulaic things i’ve seen so far. i think the argument that sonic is barely in his own show is a decent one too, bro literally never wants to do anything but nap and avoid chris (which i can’t blame him for that part). i personally also just haven’t gotten back into anime in general for several years becus i’m tired of the whole “you gotta wait for it to get better” type thing and i would rather just watch mindless stuff but everyone has their cup of tea and i don’t think it’s an inherently bad show at all either. it can never be as bad as the knuckles show…*shivers*. and ofc animation wise it’s fantastic and super nostalgic.

next hot take is about the song “almost dead” from shadow the hedgehog. it’s one of the most hated songs in the fandom however i LOVE it. i will blast that shit in my headphones thanks to the kind soul who uploaded it to spotify podcasts. the criticism that it doesn’t really match shadows character is valid, and it especially makes sense becus it was also in a horror movie. but as just a song in general my brain goes “ooo funny noises” and doesn’t really think about that part. i’d say the other infamously hated sonic song is sweet dreams from sonic 06 (and while i haven’t listened to it in awhile so i can’t be certain) i remember that song being pretty bad imo so i agree with that part at least

lastly i’m just gonna say that i’m not a fan of the ships sonjet, sonilver, and blazamy. this is not me hating on them at all!! and i have seen super cute fanart of them as well. the only ones i straight up despise are the ones that are illegal (looking at the weird ass sontails shippers on this app…). i just don’t particularly like them becus of either personal headcannons and/or just a gut feeling. with sonic and silver i feel like they have kinda like a sibling or cousin dynamic. for sonjet and blazamy i feel like they haven’t had enough interactions to really warrant a relationship, and i think they would be better off as playful besties. also i just realized that all three of these are gay ships and i really really hope people don’t think i’m homophobic for this especially also becus i spam sonamy on my page GUYSSSS IM A MULTISHIPPER I LOVE SONADOW TOO AND IM FRUITY MYSELF DONT KILL MEEEE 😞😞😞

Yokai Au updates/headcannons.

The chapter I posted is completely irrelevant to the main story, I'll write it on Wattpad and post it here so I can keep a word count and edit easier.

Yokai Sonic is a punkupine, a long with Knuckles, Amy, Surge and any other quilled character because Yokai is very limited, they are different, I know but my thing is they're origans are from different regions of Japan to accommodate to their looks, Knuckles is from the mountain regions where he needs big hands to dig and a longer snout to get bugs and berries from low bushes without hurting his self.

Sonic, Leonardo and Espio are trans! Sonic is pansexual, Leo is gay, Espio is bi.

Sonic markings around his eyes glow in the dark a long with his freckles that turn soft white in the dark and a few quills.

Espio has more prominent scales scattered around his body, they're a little darker or lighter than others, he has 3 fingers like the Ninja Turtles cuz its cool.

Leo is fruity as usual, I gave him a more markings that a red eared slider has and he paints on the full eye stripes because as he was put into the wrong body female red eared sliders only had tiny red dots.

Silver is still from the future, just not the messed up one with the Kraang, timelines and stuff, yay.

Tails is taller than most everyone, Sonic is the shortest (because its funny, he's a Short KIng) he has brown markings and he's like 12, instead of him being weird for having two tails he's weird because he doesn't have 6 tails as a kitsune! when Kitsunes are born they have two tails, he just never got the rest.

Shadow appears much, much later he's not from space, he was created on Earth and put into a time capsule pod. Maria is sadly dead but of old age after GUN took Shadow away after she was healed, its been 80 years instead of 50. Shadow is 20, forever. He is 3 foot 8 inches, 8 inches taller than Sonic (I love making fun of Sonic's height, its just too good to pass up)

Knuckles is like 34, a parental figure to Sonic and Tails, like Raphael is to his little brothers and how Vector is to Charmy and Espio.

Vector is basically Leatherhead, because he's the best, he's loyal and he's amazing.

Day 18: Stuffed Animal

During a stressful time, Amy gives Shadow her first stuffed animal.

Heavy breathing and subtle crying filled their bedroom. Blankets and pillows haphazardly lie across the floor. These panic attacks never last long but they are very intense. After his nightmare and waking Amy, he gripped his quills so tightly that Amy thought he would rip them out or even embed his claws into his scalp. Amy slowly moved across the room, Shadow's eyes snapping to her, watching every step she made. She reached into her closet and high up on a shelf was an old stuffed bear. There were plenty of stitches on its arms and ears. She slowly returned to the bed, kneeling in front of Shadow. 

“I’ll go make you some tea to help you calm down. I think this might help a little bit to ground you.” She hands him the bear and he hesitates before he slowly reaches for it. He runs his fingers over the face, matted down fluff in spots, a smooth set of eyes, and a stitched nose. He focused on the feelings under his fingers as Amy slowly left the room.

He pulled the toy to his chest and buried his face into it. It smelled of Amy’s favorite fruity laundry detergent. It felt comforting as he squished the toy with his hands, slowly feeling his heart rate finally beginning to lower. He didn’t realize Amy had walked back into the room until he heard the ceramic mugs she held, being set on the table. He looked up to her and she had the sweetest smile on her lips. Her eyes filled with love and concern. She was perfect with her messed-up quills and messy pajamas. 

“Did he help?” She quietly asked. He didn’t feel ready to speak just yet, so he nodded to her. “I’m glad. I’ve had him since I was a baby apparently. I used to carry him around all the time. But when I started to adventure with Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, I never took him. I would get home exhausted and talk to him as if he were my only friend.” She chuckled and she grabbed her steaming mug.

“Did it make you happy?” He asked with a scratchy voice.

“It did.” She took a sip. “He would always be a comfort when I was scared about something. When Metal first captured me, when the typhoons were extra loud and the power went out, even when I decided to stop chasing after Sonic. He was there to help me through it all.” She smiled at Shadow and slowly leaned her head onto his shoulder, barely pressing her weight on him, testing how he was feeling. 

“It’s a very soft stuffed animal.” He says rubbing his cheek against it. “Thank you.”

“Would you like your tea?” She asked him, sitting upright.

“Please.” He set the bear down next to him and gingerly took the cup from Amy’s hands and took a small sip. The flavor was gentle and comforting, just like Amy herself.

💕: macaque and Redson, yeah I know I know, they are really liked a lot. But sometimes villains are just really fun. Macaque I like him because he’s a broody villian as the shadow or dark opposite of another who’s desperate to not be seen as the opposite of the other, but at the same time obsessed with the other. He’s a villian as a victim of circumstance, turned ally. Don’t get me wrong he does some messed up stuff but some of my favorite characters are genuinely insane. You have to put a lot of work of keeping them balanced between crazy but not stupid and there are soooo many way to do these things. Plus he’s smart too and it’s just really fun and shadow abilities are so cool to me. As for Red, I just really like him too, I like to analyze him like a scientist picking apart something. It’s fun!

💔: mayor I guess? I haven’t been able to get myself to watch the entire show it’s a hard thing to commit to so I don’t know about him all that much. But like at the same time him and LBD are hard to hate because everyone loves when a villain is done well. And they are done well.

It surprises me that there’s so many homophobic Sonic fans. Like I joked about some Sonic and Shadow comic art being fruity and people just freak haha. ‘You’re ruining my childhood’ oh boohoo! Sonic was also my childhood. Sonic made me gay! (Jk, but like, I learnt about gay fanfic BECAUSE of Sonic as a preteen and as a result learnt a lot about the LGBT+ community—and discovered that yo I ain’t straight).
