ELOD episode 23 review
Tumblr media
Feng Jiu mopes. Cheng Yu takes her out to drink away her sorrows.
Zhe Yan comes as a matchmaker for Cang Yi the mountain immortal. Bai Yi, Feng Jiu’s father, decides to let Feng Jiu accept/reject the marriage proposal. Ali was eavesdropping and got caught.
Lian Song interrupts the girls to persuade Cheng Yu to help him prepare the flower festival. It took some beatings to get her to agree.
Dong Hua is haunted by memories from his mortal trial and eventually asks to see his mortal scroll. But the fake Si Ming gives him is not satisfactory. Lian Song is serious for a moment and warns Cheng Yu she and FJ must not affect Dong Hua severely. But then he tries flirting again and accidentally ruins her work. Cheng Yu chases after him, preparing to give him another beating.
Ali warns a drunk Feng Jiu not to go home but too late. Bai Yi lectures his daughter for sneaking to the mortal realm and mourning Qing Ti. Then he tells her about the marriage proposal. Thinking over Cheng Yu’s advice, Feng Jiu immediately accepts.
When Feng Jiu wakes up, Ali tells her what went down. While Feng Jiu wants to cancel the marriage, Bai Yi refuses. Even Bai Zhen can’t convince him. Overhearing how Feng Jiu has failed to prove herself, she decides to take care of things herself and tell Cang Yi to cancel. He also refuses so Feng Jiu challenges him to a duel. The fight ruins Cang Yi’s courtyard and a Cang Yi saves a falling Feng Jiu. She wants to continue the duel but her father arrives.
What I like
Dong Hua being haunted by his memories. Sure it makes him uncomfortable but I don’t want him to forget Xiao Jiu that easily. Thank God Xuanren loved her so deeply.
Ali is such a loyal cousin!
What I dislike
Bai Yi is an idiot. Who lectures a drunk when they won’t even remember it? Why the hell tell Feng Jiu about the marriage proposal now? Wait till she’s sober before you go into all this stuff. You are as much to blame for rushing this marriage.
What’s wrong with mourning for a mortal? Ye Hua mourned for Su Su! Besides Qingti died saving Feng Jiu.

Eternal Love of Dream: episodes 54 & 55
Tumblr media
One to go...
Spoilers, probably...? Maybe???
episode fifty-four
Tumblr media
I’m questioning this... *I have googled this out of curiosity and have not concluded much from it* Would have found out you were pregnant anyway when you started to show.
Tumblr media
Well holy sh*t
Tumblr media
Yes... reminiscing to kill your heart off even further... very wise choice.
Tumblr media
After 40 episodes he’s finally coming back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
don’t @ me, I said what I said.
Tumblr media
The Bai Zhen content we are getting. damn. But what a man to be in love with. *The drama he’s just starred in I plan on watching soon as well.*
Tumblr media
Zhe Yan, you totally know what’s going on.
Tumblr media
What an effortless transition from mortal to immortal... In just the way he grasps the situation.
Tumblr media
My bby boy.
Tumblr media
The way he walks off in pout mode is too cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you want to know how extensively he searched for you??????????
Tumblr media
I miss Bai Gungun already.
episode fifty-five
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tbh, it makes quite a lot of sense for Ye Qingti to be Donghua’s successor. Sure he doesn’t have much training and this is probably the first time they’ve met but Ye Qingti and Song Xuanren did get along quite well in the mortal realm. Ye Qingti also did give pretty reasonable opinions in the mortal realm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What a pairing this could have been. *sorry don’t mind me*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fengjiu has no idea what is to come...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The subtle meaning behind this...
Tumblr media
Be careful with the ring!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now it’s Donghua who loves you so much Fengjiu.
Tumblr media
In the novel, Bai Gungun was present for this scene. Bai Fengjiu says goodbye to her son and rushes off to Tai Chen Palace.
Tumblr media
We are reminded that Donghua never got to see Fengjiu in her wedding attire. Damn. This hurts.
Tumblr media
Where is this man’s acting award? *I think I also have another drama to watch that stars him*
Tumblr media
What a fitting romantic gesture for Donghua...
See you next time for the finale and my overall review!

For those going into Three Lives Three Worlds The Pillowbook, don’t expect Song Xuanren - he’s a fabrication of Eternal Love of Dream. Emperor Song was in his 40s, had an 18 year old son, many wives/consorts, and literally yeet Lady Chen (Feng Jiu) after four years because she wrote a love letter to one of her fellow consorts as an attempt to break his heart. When all he did was give her to Qingti to have as a second wife (while also giving him a main wife at the same time). Qingti was married to her for five years until his time of death (age 23 til age 28). Those five years which he spent in love with Feng Jiu, who he knew was an immortal, and who refused to return feeling (note, it does not say she d i d n ‘ t have feeling, just that she refused).

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 22
Tumblr media
Still trying to move on. Still trapped by my love for Ye Qingti. Don’t show me donghua, I don’t care about him and his tears. He woke up and a servant whose I don’t remember his name comes. He says that if he wants to know what happened, he can just ask Siming. But Donghua is like no need to since it’s already all in the past.
Nie Chuyin got his hands on the soul sealing jade and is hesitating about if he should give it or not to the Demon queen. What if she doesn’t keep her promise? Then he won’t be able to give back the power to his tribe and he might even die.
Yan Chiwu is working really hard to make Ji Heng get back her memories. Seems like he found a way. But the process hurts her a lot. I think she sealed herself her memories. He says it’s okay if it didn’t work, he’ll find another way, even though he already tried many. But it worked and she remembers everything. He’s so happy when she call out his name. I am sad for him somehow. Because he will never get her, I can feel it. Nice guys never get the girl. She asks him why is he so nice to her and he just says because he likes her, of course he should treat her well. He says he will never give up on her. She asks him to go get some herbs for her, but she’s probably going to leave.
Lian Song goes to see Siming and asks about what happened to Donghua for his trial but Siming won’t say anything. So Lian Song asks him if tries to keep protecting that person, isn’t it because he has a crush? He denies that and says the person who wants to protect that person is Chengyu. lol. He asks if it was a woman or a man though, and Siming is like who do you think Donghua spent his trial with a man or a woman?
Nie Chuyin decided to give the demon Queen the soul locking jade.
Chiyan gets back home only to see that Ji Heng left. She gave a note in which he instructed not to follow her. He then finds Nie Chuyin and fights with him. He asks him he would hurt her but he claims that he saved her. That she stayed in the mortal realm willingly.
Fengjiu is going back to Qingqiu. Chengyu is waiting for her there. She asks her if she’s wearing so plain clothes because of Song Xuanren, but she says it’s because of Ye Qingti. Yeah, you should. Poor Qingti. She says she realized now that she wasn’t trying to pay back her debt, but she just couldn’t give up Donghua. It cost the life of Ye Qingti and almost ruined Donghua’s trial. Now she really gave up.
BAI QIAN! My dear Bai Qian, she’s going to ease my heart, sill so hurt by Qingti’s death. Awww my Bai Qian <3 She scolds a little bit Fengjiu and asks how come her body’s hurt from using her powers in the mortal realm. She scolds her a little bit more, she can lose face, but she can’t let Qingqiu lose face. She trusts her though and we make the medicine for her to heal. When Fengjiu leaves, Bai Qian asks Ahli to go and see if he can make Fengjiu a little less sad.
So Fengjiu makes Ah Li dress like a girl, Wow. Maybe they used a little girl to play Ah li just for that scene, I don’t know haha. There are going to the village. Really quickly, Fengjiu lost Ahli. His love for bingtang hulu hasn’t changed. When Fengjiu tries to look for him, she saves somebody. Then that person asks for her name and she’s trying to not say it when Ah Li runs in calling her Fengjiu which makes everybody recognize her and bow to her. Hahaha. Ah Li <3 They have no choice but to go back then. Back home, Fengjiu sends Ah Li back to his mom. Ah Li is such a smart child though.
Lian Song tries to convince Chengyu to help him at organizing some event, but she doesn’t want to and he keeps on humiliating himself. I like that couple much more than the main one haha. They are more interesting. I really don’t care for Donghua and Fengjiu hahaha. Why I am still watching this? Just to know if my Qingti will come back and meet a girl a thousand times better than Fengjiu. And because the ost is beautiful. I always listen to the whole opening and the whole ending songs. I love them a lot!

To those who have read Three Lives Three Worlds, The Pillow Book . I’m watching the drama and out of curiosity I went and give a look at the book’s synopsis and noticed the book begins with Bai Qian’s marriage. So I was wondering: the part in the drama that takes place in the mortal world, with Song Xuanren snd Ye Qingti, was it completely invented by the scriptwriters or is there a corresponding part in the book later on?

On Names
Demigods and Semi-devils is a phrase that comes from Buddhist scripture. Many Mahayana scriptures describe how eight non-human beings looked on as Buddha preached to bodhisattvas and monks. In the Lotus Sutra, for example, it is said that these eight beings “beheld from afar the dragon’s daughter becoming a buddha”. These eight mystical beings may resemble humans, but they are not human. Chief among them are the Deva and the Naga; the other six are the Yaksha, Gandharva, Asura, Garuda, Kimnara, and Mahoraga.
According to Buddhist scripture, Deva are gods but not supreme beings; they merely enjoy greater and longer-lasting karmic rewards than mortal men. Buddhists hold that everything is transient, and therefore even the Deva must die. There are five signs of a Deva’s imminent death: their clothes will be soiled, the flowers on their head wither, their bodies will stink, sweat will come out of their armpits, and they no longer delight in their place. These are the five great sorrows of heaven, and they are a Deva’s greatest sorrows. Indra is the leader of the Deva.
Naga are dragon gods. The dragons in Buddhist scriptures are not so different from those in the tales of our own country, except that they have no feet, and pythons are occasionally called dragons. In actual fact, the Chinese understanding of dragons and dragon kings is largely derived from these scriptures. Buddhist scriptures make mention of the Fifth Dragon King, the Seventh Dragon King, the Eighth Dragon King and so on.
The ancient Indians revered dragons. They felt that the dragon was the strongest of all creatures living in the water, and that the elephant was the most powerful of all creatures living on land. This is why greatly-respected personages are called “dragon-elephants”*. When someone says that “a dragon-elephant approaches from the west”, this refers to an eminent monk that has come from the west. In ancient India, people believed that rain was water that dragons took from the sea and scattered on earth. The Chinese also accepted this belief. The almanacs indicate how the number of dragons carrying water impacted rainfall for the year. One of the dragon kings was called Sagara, and his eight-year-old daughter spoke of the scriptures to the Shakyamuni Buddha, became a boy, and attained enlightenment.
The Yaksha are a type of demon, and some have been termed the “Eight Yaksha Generals” or “Sixteen Great Yaksha Generals”. The original Yaksha were gods that ate demons, were nimble and agile, as well as brave and secretive. The Vimalakirti Sutra divides the Yaksha into three categories: those that live on earth, those that float in space, and those that live in the fork between night and day. These days, when we speak of Yaksha, we typically refer to demons. But in the Buddhist scriptures there were many good Yaksha. Indeed, the task of the Eight Yaksha generals was to protect all the beings of the world.
The Gandharva are spirits that neither eat nor drink, but subsist on fragrances. They are the chief beings that wait upon Indra, and their bodies give off a fragrance. In Sanskrit, gandharva means “inscrutable change”. For that reason, magicians are also known as gandharva, and mirages are called gandharva cities. Their fragrance and music are faint, indistinct, and hard to capture.
Asura are a unique race of spirits because the males are terribly ugly, while the females are exceedingly beautiful. The King of the Asura often goes to war with Indra and the Deva, for the Asura have beautiful women but not good food, and Indra has good food but not beautiful women. There is a mutual jealousy and a desire to possess what the other side has. Every battle between the Asura and Indra sets the earth into tumult. For this reason, the aftermath of terrible, corpse-strewn battles are known as “asura grounds”. The King of the Asura is typically defeated in these battles. Once, after being roundly beaten, he had nowhere to hide and slipped into the hollows in a lotus root.
The King of the Asura is irascible, stubborn and quick to jealousy. When the Shakyamuni Buddha speaks of the four domains of mindfulness, the Asura king is quick to speak of the five domains of mindfulness. When the Buddha speaks of the 37 qualities conducive to enlightenment, the Asura king is quick to say that there are 38 qualities. There are many examples of this in the Buddhist scriptures. The King of the Asura has great power and ability, but he is often deliberately contrary and his mindset is “the more chaos, the better”. He is also very suspicious. In the Great Treatise on the Perfection of Wisdom, it is written that the King of the Asura “was frequently suspicious of Buddha... when Buddha spoke of Five Clusters, he said there were six; when Buddha spoke of the Four Noble Truths, he said there were five.” The Five Clusters and Four Noble Truths are all basic concepts in Buddhism. But the Asura king feared that Buddha deliberately left out one of each because he sided with Indra.
The Garuda are large birds with many solemn colours on their wings. They have a large growth on their heads, which contains a lucky jewel. These birds have sorrowful cries and eat dragons. The old myths say that the general Yue Fei was the reincarnation of a “mythical, golden-winged bird”. The Garuda is that bird. The Garuda need to eat one dragon king and 500 smaller dragons each day. When they are about to die, they spit poison and are unable to eat. They fly up and down seven times before flying to the Jingganglun Mountains to die. During their lifetimes, Garuda accumulate a great deal of poison in their bodies from all the dragons they eat. When they die, this is released and they burn to death. All that is left of a dead Garuda is its heart, which has the clarity of green glass.
In Sanskrit, Kimnara means “the one who looks like man, but is not man”. Kimnara look like men but have a single horn on their heads, which is why they have been given this name. They enjoy music and dancing, and bring happiness to Indra.
Mahoraga are huge python deities. They have a man’s body and a snake’s head.
Demigods and Semi-Devils is set during the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a story of the Dali Kingdom in Yunnan.
The Dali Kingdom was a Buddhist kingdom, and its kings were Buddhist. They often set aside their station to take up monkhood - a very strange and unique phenomenon in our country’s history. Of the Dali kings, Shengde, Xiaode, Baoding, Xuanren, Zhenlian, Shenzong and others abdicated to become monks. The South King in The Legend of the Condor Heroes was a Dali king. Demigods and Semi-Devils takes place before the events in that book. This book takes place between the Yuanyou and Shaosheng eras, around 1094 AD.
The eight beings classified as demigods and semi-devils have their own characteristics and magical abilities. Although they are beings from outside our world, they experience the joys and pains of the mortal world. This novel does not contain such mythological beings, but merely uses these beings from Buddhist scriptures to represent certain characters. This is similar to how Sun Erniang in The Water Margin is known as the Female Yaksha, or Ou Peng as Golden Wings Brushing the Clouds.
* I couldn’t find a proper translation for this term.

ELOD episode 22 review
Tumblr media
I like this episode. Despite Feng Jiu’s sadness, there were many elements I liked.
Dong Hua wakes up, feeling the remnants of sadness. While he decides not to see his mortal scroll, he does muse over the tear he shed.
Feng Jiu leaves Qingti in Lord Xie Guchou’s care. He tells her Dong Hua has returned.
Lian Song visits Dong Hua, then Si Ming. When Lian Song gets too curious, Si Ming warns that if he gets in trouble, so could a certain someone (FJ) who is Cheng Yu’s best friend. Lian Song stops asking questions. But he is momentarily curious if Cheng Yu’s best friend is a man, until Si Ming explains the best friend was Dong Hua’s love trial.
Feng Jiu returns to Qingqiu. She is greeted by Cheng Yu and Jingwei. Then she goes and greets Bai Qian and Ali. Bai Qian notes that Feng Jiu is sad and in mourning. She tells Feng Jiu she should bear in mind that she is now an empress and should not act so willfully. Bai Qian tells Feng Jiu the Bai Clan will always have each other’s back. Bai Qian and the fox queen then ask Ali to cheer Feng Jiu up.
Lord Nie is hesitant about giving the jade to Miao Luo, but he can’t use it. He just has to trust she won’t betray him. Anyway, it will take a while for Miao Luo to absorb the jade.
Xiao Yan manages to recover Jiheng’s sad memories. She thanks him but leaves to go to Fanyin Valley and recuperate. Plus, she wasn’t interested in him wooing her. Xiao Yan is upset and decides to pummel Lord Nie for taking advantage of Jiheng’s amnesia. Lord Nie responds that Xiao Yan should let him go since he also saved Jiheng.
Lian Song pursues Cheng Yu, asking her to help him with the Mille flower festival. Both times end to his embarrassment. 1) she breaks his fan 2) she dumps water on him. Lian Song tells the guard witnesses to spread the word, only in such a manner that it seems like Cheng Yu is interested in him.
Feng Jiu and Ali go to a festival in disguise. There Feng Jiu garners romantic interest from a boy she saved, and a visiting mountain deity. Ali also ends up revealing her identity, ruining their fun early.
What I like
Cheng Yu and Jingwei meeting Feng Jiu as she returns home. Their joy at seeing her is so touching.
Bai Qian. I was a fan of Liu Yifei’s BQ than Yang Mi’s partly because the former had so much regality and fire while the latter kept retreating and even bowed to her horrid mother in law. This version we see a sharper Bai Qian who not only reminds Feng Jiu of her duties, but still cares for her niece.
Ali - this is my fav version of Ali. His depression at having to cross dress is hilarious, and ironic considering the actor is an actress. He also confidently claims to be the closest to Feng Jiu. I would have thought it would be Bai Qian. But he senses she is trapped in the woes of love. So smart!
Seeing how the Qingqiu folk respect their queen.
Dong Hua musing over the tear. Xuanren must have really loved Feng Jiu deeply.
Cheng Yu breaking Lian Song’s fan and dunking him in water is even funnier since there are witnesses. That’s what you get for being pushy and trying to announce to the world you are a couple when you are not.
What I dislike
I understand why Jiheng left Xiao Yan, but saying goodbye in such a brief letter. That’s cold hearted, especially when he had searched so hard for her and tried to heal her many times.

ELOD episode 12 review
Tumblr media
Xuanren is lovestruck. And this is the emperor who stayed away from women despite having a harem. Jiheng tried to gain favor but he ain’t interested despite promises to visit her later. He is much more happy when Xiao Jiu arrives.
Xiao Jiu impresses Xuanren with Lian Song’s weapon blueprints. He rewards the Praetorian Guard with a feast.
Feng Jiu informs Cheng Yu and Si Ming. They confirm that Jiheng has no involvement with his majesty’s trials and that she truly has lost her memory. So what is her true purpose there?
Xuanren is disappointed Qingti can’t find the girl of his dreams, but decides to continue the search himself with Xiao Jiu.
Qingti is successful in locating Mengxi. She is dead. He also finds himself confused by his feelings for Xiao Bai. It seems these Bai women are excellent at causing men to question their sexual orientation.
Feng Jiu feels guilty for causing Meng Xi’s death. Si Ming consoles her. He tells her she has to take Meng Xi’s place.
What I like
Xuanren calling Feng Jiu’s beauty heavenly. It’s funny because Jiheng is also a famed beauty there but her beauty isn’t being praised. Guess she blends in with the mortals. Lol.
Chengyu is such a loyal friend!
Is the emperor questioning his sexual orientation too? During the sword fight....
What I dislike
I am reminded of a future episode in the restaurant. But the way Jiheng enters the emperor’s study. I sincerely doubt even his concubines are that bold.
Poor Meng Xi...

ELOD episode 15 review
Tumblr media
Qingti is unable to come up with evidence since Xiao Jiu is so secretive about her background. The emperor isn’t happy. He can’t save her without evidence. He doesn’t need Qingti’s belief in her innocence. He needs proof. I’m sensing that there may be some jealousy over how Qingti is so sure of Xiao Jiu’s innocence.
Chu Wan makes her move to get closer to the emperor. She can’t find the Lingbi Stone in his chambers. While Xuanren is distracted by her, he can’t forget Xiao Jiu, who won’t even divulge her past to him.
Cheng Yu is upset. Si Ming holds her back. Cheng Yu ends her date with Lian Song early.
Feng Jiu promises to save Mu Yun. In her last hours, she recalls that the plates were changed.
Qingti presents evidence that it was a maid who poisoned the plates, switching Xiao Jiu’s plates for those that belonged to Chu Wan’s palace. Prince Ying kills the maid as she attacks the emperor. Obviously he’s the one behind this. Chu Wan knows it too but can’t say anything. Seriously, why serve such a traitorous brother?
Xuanren goes to free Xiao Jiu and apologizes to her. She never blamed him (having intended to go down without a fight so the love trial would be complete with him feeling guilty over her wronged death). She is promoted to Madam and Xuanren prepares lots of unwanted rewards for her. She doesn’t like fancy stuff. She likes things simple.
Qingti blames his infatuation for the delay in solving the case.
What I like
Qingti never giving up on Xiao Jiu. And I gotta admire his peristance in the slim hope that there will be a plate fragment left to find from the crime scene.
Mu Yun’s loyalty to Feng Jiu.
Xuanren’s indigo outfit is gorgeous. Like a starry night.
Xuanren still bothered by Xiao Jiu despite being distracted by Chu Wan.
Xiao Jiu’s name being cleared
What I dislike
Did they have to kill a dog?
Xiao Jiu’s willingness to give up. I get it. It’s for the trial. But come on, show some fire to solve the case and identify the poisoner.
Poor Qingti. Ironically he was the one solving the crime but has to watch his beloved and best friend from the sidelines.
Xuanren being distracted by Chu Wan. I don’t care if it’s her birthday, the love of your life is imprisoned in a dirty cell, and you’re listening to music! You are having Qingti doing all the thinking, and blaming him for having no evidence. But what are you doing? If you love Xiao Jiu so much, you should be doing more to try to save her, you should not be distracted by other concubines while she is in a freaking cell!
Jiheng’s character is kind of despicable. It is kind of confirmed she is vain if she keeps sitting in front of a mirror. She is bothered that Xuanren clearly values Xiao Jiu more than her, but she doesn’t even like him that way if she is planning to steal from him.

Eternal Love of Dream: Episodes 12 & 13
Into the chaos, we go...
(Apologies for the delay, I was distracted by another drama...)
Tumblr media
*Just look at that poster. I can’t wait for these moments.*
A couple of pointers that you may or may not know:
1. You DO NOT need to have seen Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Eternal Love) to watch this. 2. If you have seen Eternal Love, ignore what happens between these two. (They weren’t able to gain copyright access to this novel for Eternal Love, so their storyline was made up and put in as a filler) 3. This is based on a novel, you don’t need to read the novel but it is a great read if you’re interested. 4. I may refer to this as The Pillow Book or TPB. 5. Lastly, there will be some comparisons and I will relate to the novel at times.
Also spoilers, maybe? (If you haven’t seen these episodes yet)
I think we can all agree by now, we’re all watching these episodes at least three times each, if not, what are you doing with yourself?
Episode twelve
Tumblr media
You got that right but you’re still gonna act like a fool! Could we move back to the nine heavens? I miss Donghua.
Tumblr media
Yes!!! #president#oursaviour#fengjiu’sprotectionsquad
Tumblr media
It’s like you’ve just woken up and your parents are here to scold you! haha. Cheng Yu being the mother and Si Ming was just dragged along. He’s just trying to be a supportive father.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cheng Yu is the queen in my book. (sorry fengjiu!) She’s sooo right. Fengjiu suffers emotionally the most out of all of this.
Tumblr media
Saying what we are all thinking at this point. Well, I am, at least...
Tumblr media
Really???????????????????????????????????????????????????
Tumblr media
Yes. We would all like to know. If Ji Heng wasn’t in the mortal realm, this arc would be 5 eps at the most, not even 5.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The seed in Fengjiu’s head is growing. (the misunderstanding that Donghua likes Ji Heng)
Tumblr media
If people could be spirit animals, Cheng Yu is mine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cheng Yu.... lmao.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like how she only went to collect the drawing for Fengjiu but ended up having to go on a date. Liansong’s deception skills 10/10.
Tumblr media
Let us say yes and be done with it. We’ve got to protect Fengjiu and me from this emotional pain. I’m already preparing myself for a certain someone’s storyline and that’s painful enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HA! Xuanren is the exact opposite of Donghua. Hmm, maybe not though. Ignore me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(18+ for the next bit. It’s not explicit but it references things in the bedroom department. I’d say it’s pretty tame but still, tread lightly.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah, here we go. The moment we all wait for in every show, to discover who is top and who is bottom in the realtionship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we’re preparing. Just a thought, although Fengjiu is EXTREMELY innocent, I could totally see her being a switch once she got used to it. But who am I kidding? Donghua wouldn’t even give her the chance. (I should shut up.)
Tumblr media
ICONIC.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we’ve established the top & bottom debate. Donghua, without even needing to discuss is the dominant one. (I’ve gotta put a warning on this part now... ahh. The warning is over now.)
Tumblr media
I know this is Song Xuanren, but don’t you just want to slap him? Fengjiu has been, currently and will be in love with the man standing in front of her for forever. No matter what form he appears in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(credits to whoever made this)
This is going to be painful for all parties involved.  A. Fengjiu is in love with him and has now been asked to destroy his heart.  B. She’s adding to her own misery. C. Breaks Xuanren’s heart.  D. Donghua won’t even know. (shhh. this is from a future ep. shhh. I should pretend I don’t know this yet. It’s all you to keep this secret now.) E. The third-party involved in this will also end up with their heart crushed. F. I’ll be in pain from watching A-E occurring.
Episode thirteen
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeahhhhhh you have.
Tumblr media
Damn it! I was just waiting for a double identity scene. She pretends to be both characters... aww. *You missed out on peak comedy here @ the writers*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*sigh* I should be happier.
Tumblr media
Ye Qingti... you are my only hope. Don’t let me down man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think everyone saw this coming, it plays well into still keeping the plot of the novel as well. The novel didn’t say much about about the mortal realm, except (Spoilers: Ye Qingti and Fengjiu were married and I vaguely remember Donghua & Fengjiu didn’t meet whilst in the mortal realm either.) Although I like the decision to include the mortal realm because it is vital to Fengjiu’s plot and character development, I personally would have liked to have seen more relationship development between Fengjiu & Qingti (speaking of future episodes) instead of it focusing on Donghua. But, I understand the writers' decision because the show is based on Fengjiu & Donghua. I mean we’ll probably get to see more emotions on Donghua’s part when he realises Fengjiu has been accompanying him for the past too many years to count, we’re probably up to 100,000 right?
Also this is my mood at Si Ming currently:
Me                                                                         Si Ming
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Me & Fengjiu thinking of this at exactly the same time. The power.
Tumblr media
IT’s YOU, YOU DUMMY!!!!!!
Tumblr media
*facepalm*
Tumblr media
She misses him >.< Same girl, same.
Tumblr media
Ah.. this look we’ll have to get used to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m just putting it out there... but I think he had already when she was a man... ngl. I can imagine Donghua being bisexual... I said what I said.
Side note: Their subtle references to Donghua, the purple ribbon and the thing that is hanging from his belt?? (I’m not sure... someone has said before what they are.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And we’re finished! Any questions I will do my best to answer them.  See you next time!

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 28
Tumblr media
So, back to the story here we are. Since lately I have mostly been binge watching, I just kept on posting on each episode separately, but still as one big piece in the end since I just continue on with what’s happening. So let me talk a little bit more about what I think about this series so far. It’s getting better. It’s definitely not perfect and I am still grieving for Ye Qingti because I don’t know, I have such a crush on this character, but I still find pleasure in watching. More actually than in the previous arc. The mortal realm part was pretty boring, nothing really happened except that Fengjiu got hurt again and again, fell more in love with Donghua even though Xuanren and Donghua are actually two rather different people. Good think about is that she became more mature and that makes her less annoyingly childish in the following episodes. I really enjoy the fact that even though she still greatly admires Donghua and likes him very much, she is less stubborn about her feelings and doesn’t try at all cost to stay near Donghua. That’s really enjoyable for me. Plus, the more we get to see of Donghua, the more interesting he is. In my opinion. I can’t help but to compare with ten miles of peach blossom, but this Donghua is actually relatable. He has lived such a long time, done so many great accomplishments that he’s most of the time  little bored and gets pleasure from teasing people. He feels less distant and actually a little bit more human. So far I can’t say that I strongly ship the two of them, but I can see how they can be a match. I am beginning to get a little more curious about how things will develop in the future.
So back to business, Chong Lin is wondering why Donghua is so concerned about where was sent Yan Chiwu and he says that it’s because he sent him to the Fanyin grotto and lost a handkerchief in the process. Then, he’s posing at the door. And I am just thinking that Fengjiu isn’t there to see it, thus you don’t need to try and be so elegant. But oh well, who doesn’t like a handsome man looking poetically in the distance? Plus I must say, the design of the palace is really beautiful. They did a really good job about that.
Yan Chiwu is convincing Fengjiu that Donghua is in love with Jiheng haha. I love this character, honestly. He’s so infatuated with Ji Heng that he finds so easily explanations to how Donghua is so attracted by the demon princess. Fengjiu says he didn’t want to give Ji Heng his spiritual fox to raise and Chiwu is like “of course that would be so Ji Heng would go to his palace to see the spiritual fox”. Donghua isn’t a guy like that, I think that if he liked someone he would be the kind to actually just take that person by his side, I can’t really picture him scheming something like this. Well, he likes making fun of people and would probably set that kind of traps on Lian Song and Siming, but the purpose is really different. Chiwu wonders why did Donghua liked that little fox so much and a very sad Fengjiu suggests that they get out of there instead of keep on babbling on.
In the clouds, Fengjiu didn’t notice she was close to a cliff and feel down. Seeing a lady in danger, Chiwu also jumps to go and save her. They end up falling on top of the second prince of the Biyi Bird clan. Woops. So they get sent to jail and it seems also that Qingqiu and the Biyi Bird clan doesn’t have a very good relationship.
Well, everything ends up nicely, the second prince lied to protect them. Then... Chiwu notices that there is a girl looking exactly like Ji Heng sitting in the corner. What is she doing there? Anyways, prince lied that they came to study and thus the queen arranges everything for them. The prince says he’ll take them but Chiwu can’t take his eyes off Ji Heng. Poor him.
So they will be stuck in there for at least 60 years. The grotto only opens like once in a while to protect the Biyi bird tribe. To forcefully get out, you would need like 3000 years of cultivating. So even though Fengjiu tries to get out, she’s really not able to. Of course, she has to end in second prince Xiangli Meng room while he’s taking a bath hahaha.
Fengjiu dreams that Ahli comes to get her, but in the end doesn’t manage to do it. She wakes up screaming.
Everyday, they they class and Fengjiu thinks the teacher isn’t fitted to teach and even angers him. Since he left, Chiwu takes the opportunity to go and see Ji Heng. However, she won’t acknowledge him at all and he plays a trick on her, which reminds them of the first time they met. She tries to drive him away, but he won’t, if she wants to stay there as a music teacher, then he’ll just stay too to protect her.
Xiangli Meng asks Fengjiu if she will register for the competition and she’s like, what competition? So they are holding a competition every ten years and this year the price is Pinpo Fruit, the exact fruit she needs to make an immortal body for Qingti. But she has to manage to convince the teacher to let her participate.
Donghua goes to the Fanyin grotto to teach. And Chong Lin feels it’s weird that Donghua wouldn’t bring him.
Jie Lu, Xiangli Meng’s cousin is planning a trap for the new teacher coming, because she doesn’t want a new one and wants the one she likes to come back again. Because of what he said, Xiangli Meng made her cry and to comfort her, he asks Fengjiu’s help to  make the plan better.

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 23
Tumblr media
Fengjiu is still pretty depressed by what happened in the mortal realm. No wonder. It was quite a trial for her too, hurting the man she likes (even though Song Xuanren and Donghua actually nothing in coming, except maybe that they look alike) to the point that he died and  causing the death of somebody who was innocent. That’s something I like about this Fengjiu compared to Ten miles of Peach Blossom. She’s growing. She’s still that mischievous fox girl and she’s still doing foolish stuff (and probably will again) but she’s actually in the process, she’s getting more mature. And even though I am really sad about what happened to Ye Qingti and I am probably going to sob for a while thinking about it, I feel that was a turning point, forcing Fengjiu to actually grow up. She had a hard time in the mortal realm, and she knew she messed up big time. However, without a consequence as important as the death of someone who didn’t deserve to die because of her mistakes, I don’t think she would have really understood that sometimes love means that you won’t help the person you like and watch them go through trials. It’s too early to know how much did she understand by now, but I feel she’s less childish and this is going to make that whole story on a different level than Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. I hope.
So back to the story and behind with my own thoughts, Chengyu comes to take Fengjiu out. She has been secluding herself for a  few days and seems like she’s thinking of drinking the Love forgetting water, like Bai Qian did. Chengyu warns to not imitate her aunt. We all know how bad it ended up for a long time. Then, Fengjiu argues that their cases are different, since Yehua loved Bai Qian all along whereas Donghua doesn’t even know that she exists. Not yet. Anyways, Chengyu pulls her out.
Zheyan is having tea (does he actually drink something else other than peach wine? I didn’t know haha) with Fengjiu’s father. He actually came to look out for him because one of his friends is interested in Xiaojiu and wants to talk wedding. Bai Yi guesses on the spot that this friend of him must be Cangyi. Zheyan confirms it is him. He fell in love at first with Fengjiu and cannot stop thinking about her since then. Since they are of the same... hm how can I say it? They have a similar rank amongst the deities and immortals? Bai Yi has already had an eye on him, he’s pretty awesome (well he doesn’t say it like that but I am just helping him to be honest) and he does think he’s a match for Fengjiu. Bai Yi says he’s going to discuss it with Fengjiu first, because after all she’s the one that needs to be okay with it, not him. The wedding letter has already been written, if Fengjiu agrees they can start to get ready.
Fengjiu can give up on Donghua in her head, but not in her heart. She feels bad for hurting him and she hurt him, but she’s hurting more than he does.
Maybe not. Ever since Donghua woke up, he feels pain in his chest. Okay, maybe I was wrong and Song Xuanren actually liked Xiaojiu for real in the end. It might have started as just admiration for her beautiful looks then he slowly fell for her personality. I still don’t like Xuanren because he thought everything he wanted should  belong to him and I don’t think his love was entirely sincere. In the sense that, even though we know she didn’t like Qingti that way for real, if he loved her so much, he should have let her go way earlier. But now that I think back, he begged the Dowager Queen to free the two of them, probably knowing that they would get back together once out of the palace. Well, this trial thought him a lot about love, if he ever remembers it. He won’t look at the report of his mortal trial, he thinks it’s unnecessary.
Fengjiu asks Chengyu how should forget about Donghua and Chengyu tells her to find somebody who loves her, somebody who would worry about her, take care of her. Chengyu notices that Xiaojiu always wears the bangle Qingti gave to her and she says that if she didn’t go to the mortal realm because of her selfishness, he wouldn’t have died. She owes him a life. She will definitely find a way to bring him back. Then they hear some sound at the door and Chengyu hit the impertinent one listening at the doors!
Naturally, that would be Lian Song. Who else would pester so much Chengyu. Actually, he’s probably the only guy in the Nine Heavens who dares to annoy her. Seeing the two of them, Xiaojiu bids her farewell and goes back  to Qingqiu. He actually came to deliver the weapon he designed for her. She takes and shuts him outside the room haha. They are so cute. He begs her again to help and she agrees when he says if not, then she shall finish the date they had together. So she agrees to get rid of him as fast as possible.
Wow. Donghua is dreaming of his mortal trial and wakes up startled. He wonders if these dreams are from his mortal trial and why would he still have these memories. He wonders who’s the girl in his dream. Not long after, Chengyu and Lian Song happens to fight again and she ends to throw the weapon and it almost hit Donghua. When he sees it, he reminds more memory of his mortal trial. He just gives back the weapon and Liang Song says, when he’s gone, that ever since he came back from the mortal realm, Donghua has been weird and wonders if he encountered something bad in the trial. But Chengyu just attacks back and resume the fight haha. She’s so angry and says that Donghua’s the bad thing. Such a loyal friend that Chengyu though <3
When Fengjiu comes back to Qingqiu, she’s extremely drunk and Ahli asks her why did she drunk so much wine? Then he tells her not to get in because Bai Yi is waiting for her. But he doesn’t have the time to finish what he was saying because Bai Yi comes right then. Fengjiu runs to her father and hugs him, saying she missed him. Ahli shakes his head and tells Bai Yi that Xiaojiu is really sad. Riceball is the cutest though <3
Dad scolds her. She regrets going to the mortal realm. He forgives her and tells her to never do it again. In the next days, she should focus on her classes. He then tells her that Cangyi asked for her hand. As she reads the wedding letter, she agrees to the wedding. Bai Yi is like, daughter, you have to think carefully, your wedding isn’t a game. She’s like you’ll been drinking alcohol at my wedding soon!
Back in the Nine Havens, Lian Song sees Zhong Lin looking worried. He asks him, since Dong Hua came back not long ago, how come does he look so worried like that? He says Dong Hua has been weird lately and now he wants to have a look at the report on his mortal trial. Wow, he did change his mind faster than I thought.
Siming brings the report himself to Donghua, so if he has any questions, he can answer them. But he keeps playing chess without looking at the scroll. Donghua looks at it and then Lian Song asks to see it too. Siming didn’t write the truth, he said Donghua was in love with Zhou Mengxi. But he says there’s nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t match his memories. Lian Song tells him since it’s in the past, just leave it in the past if it doesn’t show any problems. So Donghua is like, well you should leave Chengyu in the past too then. And Lian Song is like, this is different.
Fengjiu and sees Ahli playing with wedding ornements. She tells him not to play with his mom’s stuff and Ahli says, it’s not Bai Qian’s, but her’s since she agreed to marry Cangyi. She suddenly remembers and rushes to see her dad. She asks him to cancel the wedding. He says it’s too late and he can’t help her. She should be responsible for her choices.
Since daddy won’t help her, she’s going to run away. Ahli asks her why doesn’t she ask Bai Qian to help her, but since it’s soon to be Bai Qian and Yehua’s wedding, she doesn’t want to bother her. Then, she remembers she has another uncle hehehe. She blames him for letting Zheyan come and talk about this wedding proposal and tells him she’s going to run away. Bai Zhen agrees to help her though. A letter comes from Cangyi saying he had to go to the mortal realm and can’t come to chose the wedding day. Bai Zhen says that’s not good for Xiaojiu. But Bai Yi won’t change his mind, saying how nice and a good party for Fengjiu.
Wow, Ahli is so smart. He says that if Cangyi doesn’t want to marry her anymore, than everything would be solved. Ahli runs to tell Bai Yi that Fengjiu left to cancel the wedding herself. Bai Yi runs out right after her.
Fengjiu asks to see Cangyi and he’s happy to see her, it says it’s fate he gets to see her before he leaves for the mortal realm. She tells him it’s all a misunderstanding and that she doesn’t want to marry him. Then he says it’s normal since she doesn’t know him yet, but he doesn’t doubt that with time, she will like him. Wow. Are all the boys so sure of getting Fengjiu’s heart all the time?
Anyways, he won’t agree to cancel the wedding so she says since she’s going to be the Queen, there are rules. If she wins a fight against him, then they should cancel the wedding. At first he doesn’t want to, because he never fights with woman so she’s like if you don’t agree it means you accept to cancel the wedding and she’s about to leave. So he agrees to fight with her. She destroys like... everything around and at some point almost fall down and he catches her. She’s like, we’re not done, let’s keep on fighting, but they don’t get the chance because daddy just came to stop his daughter.

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 11
Tumblr media
Siming pays a visit to Fengjiu and asks her if she went to help Dong Hua. He suspects she did and he takes her pulse. And he knows she did, he feels angry because if she interferes it could have an influence on his recovery. Then she’s really shocked because she didn’t know he was injured. By saving him, she changed his fate and and didn’t meet the girl he was supposed to meet and fall in love with. So the only way to make things right, is to make them meet.
Back in the mortal realm, Fengjiu dresses as a guy. I am sorry. But none of them look like a guy. Even in Eternal Love, they at least played on the fact that Siyin looked like a girl even though nobody ever knew who she was. Dilraba Dilmurat is even more girly than Yang Mi... anyways. The princess is coming in town to marry King Song Xuanren, but they get attacked. If it wasn’t for Fengjiu, Ye Qingti would have been shot. When he sees her, it’s love at first sight. Oh god. Oh my god. That Ye Qing ti. He’s awesome. I hope we get to see more of him.
Wow, so many people came to kill the princess. They all have poison and kill themselves when they get caught. Anyways, everyone is safe and Ye Qingti sends his men arrest everyone who looks suspicious. Which seems to include Fengjiu. But as soon as Ye Qingti see her, he releases him and says he will take her to the palace to meet with the king.
Of course it was the jealous brother behind it.
When she gets in the palace to meet with the king, Fengjiu realizes that the princess that was sent was actually Ji Heng. She wonders wether she came for a mortal trial or if she’s there to help Dong Hua too. As she get in and sees Dong Hua, she completely forgets about etiquette and she only remembers with the reminder of Ye Qingti. But as soon as she’s done bowing, she barely touched the ground, Xuanren makes her stand back up, with a big smile. He wishes to grant her any wish she has, but she has none. He insists and she asks to stay by his side as his servant. He agrees really easily ._____. Is he dumb?
Fengjiu and Qingti get along pretty well. But is she faking it? I would rather like that she’s genuine. I love Qingti. Why do I always like better characters that are not main leads?
Fengjiu takes a stroll in the parc and sees a snakes which scares her and she runs into the king himself. And pushes him into the water. Then Xuanren sees her flower mark on her forehead and she dives in the water to hide herself. Has he noticed that she’s a girl? I mean, it’s pretty obvious. He didn’t realize that the girl is Fengjiu. Oh well. She managed to escape.
Oh well. Now he fell in love with Fengjiu for real. He’s too dazzled to drink his ginger soup properly and the eunuch suggests he goes to sleep with Chuwan. Hahaha. Eunuch guy, I like you. He’s openly saying: go make babies please. Thank you. But I don’t think Xuanren will ever sleep with Chuwan now that he fell so hard for Fengjiu.
Next morning, he even asks Fengjiu to find the woman that pushed him in the water. Qingti is like “we are looking for a suspicious woman” and Xuanren be more like “we are looking for the woman who stole my heart, she’s a goddess.” I guess there won’t be any way that Siming’s plans get realized now... She basically ruined it all.
Both Qingti and Fengjiu decides not to find that lady for the king, since it’s too suspicious haha. Qingti introduces Fengjiu to the other soldiers. They want to test out her strength because looking at her, they are not convinced. So she fights each one of them. EASILY LIKE THAT. I don’t get it. I thought she was unable to fight? Since when and how did she get those skills? Did she eat some kind of magic pill or what?
Qingti looked for Zhou Mengxi, the girl Dong Hua should have fell in love with, but there are no traces of her at all in the palace.
Conclusions for now, so far on this drama. Basically, it’s almost everything that happened in Eternal Love. But a little bit different. I think that’s mostly why I am not interested in Dong Hua and Fengjiu’s love story: I feel like I have seen all of it and the new characters are way much more interesting for than those two. So far, I especially like Qingti, Xu Yang and Siming. I am also wondering a little about the relationship between Lian Song and Cheng Yu. Normally I would love Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen, but I liked better the Zhe Yan from Eternal Love. The style is too different with Baron Chen, not that he’s not doing a good job, I just like him less for that role. For now, I just hope that we stay in the mortal realm for a while, because after that, no more Qingti ):

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 19
Tumblr media
There were no plays about a king and a beauty in town, so Xuanren wonders why is she lying to him. Outside, Qingti has waited for a while, but he won’t see him. Qingti says he has something really important to discuss that cannot wait, but the eunuch tells him he probably knows in his heart why the king won’t see him and some things are better left unsaid. He asks him to leave.
Song Xieren gives to Nie Chuyin the map of the royal tomb. As soon as they get their hands on the jade, they will help him to get the throne he wants so much.
The empress dowager goes to see Xuanren in his palace. Seems like he fell asleep on his desk. He was drinking and only totally wakes when he realizes that it’s the empress that’s sitting next to him. She scolds him for being such a mess. She tells him he can’t be like that only because of a woman. He’s not up to the people expectations. Also she has something else to discuss with him. He should chose a woman to become his empress. She won’t bother him too much about it, but she warns him that the empress has to come from a good family and cannot be from unknown origins, otherwise it is going to be a failure for sure.
Mu Yun tells Xiaojiu that the king is going to chose his queen (I’m sorry I keep mixing up king and queen) and it’s a good opportunity for her to win. But Xiaojiu isn’t intending to participate in that fight. She doesn’t think that it’s a position that you win. Later at night, she’s rather  depressed so Chengyu comes to see her. She should be happy that he’s about to chose his consort queen, but she actually can’t. She managed to pass the love trial, but she’s really unhappy. She wonders who he’s going to chose and Chengyu says as long as it’s not her, whoever it is good.
So it’s time for Xuanren to announce which of his wife will become his Queen. Please. Not Fengjiu. I mean, he can’t be that stupid. Yep. He chose Xiaojiu. Qingti looks so sad. Poor him. The ministers all oppose to that idea. The only person who doesn’t say anything is Qingti. Xuanren asks him what does he think about it and Qingti says he doesn’t have anything to say. He looks so hurt.
Queen dowager is really mad that Xuanren chose Xiaojiu as his Queen. He asks for forgiveness and tells her that he had to chose her. First, because in his heart there’s only her. Second, because she saw the jade and it reacted to her presence, which means she was sent by the heavens to help them. After he told her that, she sends him back.
Xiaojiu is really surprised that she has been chosen to be the Queen. While Mu Yun is extremely happy for her, Xiaojiu is getting depressed. This means all of her efforts went to nothing. Donghua’s love trial is a failure so far...
The next day, Xiaojiu is walking in the palace and realizes that Qingti is following. YES! TAKE HER AWAY! And steal her heart <3 I would love that. Xiaojiu sends away all of her maids so he could come out. He asks her if he should congratulate her and if she’s happy. She says that the future is so unsure that there’s nothing to congratulate her for. And that she should be happy. But her face tells him she’s not. He tells her again, if she’s unhappy, to tell him. But she tells to not be a fool, it’s not like he has a way to help her in getting away. Well... yes, you ride his horse together and you go back to Qingqiu. If you run away with another man, the trial is a success. Let that man be Qingti, bring him to Qingqiu to thank him for his bravery and offer him a new life. Together. Qingqiu is a good place for the two of you and your parents are looking for a husband for you. You will never find someone like that again. He gives her a letter in which he wrote some things he always wanted to tell her. Then leaves.
Siming comes right when she’s reading Qingti’s letter and says the turning point finally came. She aks him what to do, because so far, he’s still so very nice to her and there’s no way to end the love trial. Siming tells her to use Qingti genuine heart towards her to get away from this. She doesn’t really want to imply him into this, he wasn’t supposed to be related to Donghua’s love trial, but Siming tells her that ever since she changed the game at the battle, everyone’s fate has changed. But before they can finish they talk, the king comes to see her.
Xiaojiu ordered that everybody in the barracks should have new clothes. Qingti isn’t really eager to try his on. But when he looks at it, he finds something curious. It’s a note giving him a meeting point.
I love Xiaojiu’s dress, the black suits her so well. She doesn’t like it very much, it’s too... luxurious. She likes things much more simple. But Xuanren says that’s the dress she’s going to wear for the ceremony, which is much more than just appointing her as his Queen, but their wedding. She looks so depressed. She’s even crying and he tells her not to cry. She hugs him, thinking sorry.
When Mu Yun comes the next day, Xiaojiu is no where to be found. Xuanren is so eager he can’t keep in place and the dowager queen tells him to calm down. Then the eunuch comes in a hurry to tell them that Xiaojiu disappeared. Then the dowager queen tells him to send Ye Qingti to find her, but he disappeared too. They go to search Xiaojiu palace and they found the letters Qingti wrote to her. She probably left them on purpose to hurt Xuanren.
Oh it was not her idea. She wanted to burn them. But Siming comes in and won’t let her do so. Only if he knows she ran away can he completely give up on her. She then asks, won’t it hurt Qingti? But Siming tells her that since he chose to follow her, alive or dead, it’s the same result. TAKE HIM BACK WITH YOU. I don’t want Qingti to die TT It’s basically, so far, the only interesting character that we got to see in this drama.
Xuanren is super angry and orders that they chase them and bring them back.
Wow. So the episodes with my beloved Qingti are soon to be over ): I am so sad though about it. Depending on the ending, maybe I will write something to make my heart at ease. It’s not my type, I don’t write fictions but for this character... If I don’t like his ending, I have to write back something for him. He deserves better.

Eternal Love of Dream - Episode 12
Tumblr media
So I am a tiny bit late on this, but oh well. Computer broke, I couldn’t do any better. So we left last episode Fengjiu gaining all of the soldiers’ respect due to her nice fighting skills. Skills that popped out of I don’t know where or I just don’t get that character. I really can’t understand how come she goes from idle child, uninterested in sword wielding to professional, but oh well. Drama.
So Xuanren’s big brother gets notice that the king is infatuated with a woman and that he let enter in the palace a man whose background is quite mysterious. So he asks his underling to look into that Bai Xiaojiu and find any suspicious things about him.
Xuanren misses that woman he saw in the pond and was thinking about drawing her portrait, I believe, but she’s so beautiful that he doesn’t know where to start his drawing and concludes that she’s probably out of their worlds as she looks just like a goddess.  How cheesy.
When Chengyu hears that Fengjiu is in the mortal realm to accompany Donghua in his mortal trial, she’s furious and she rushes to the mortal realm to bring Fengjiu back to Qingqiu. However, Fengjiu and Siming manage to convince her to let it be until Fengjiu finds the girl that’s suppose to accompany Xuanren and then she will go back. She also informs both Siming and Jiheng that she has seen Jiheng, now named Chuwan and sent to be a concubine for his majesty. They are very surprised and decide to look into it and confirm wether she is or isn’t Jiheng.
Chengyu confirms it is really Ji Heng, but Siming says he checked it and that Chuwan has nothing to do with his majesty’s mortal trial. Chengyu is still worried about Ji Heng trying to bully Fengjiu and goes visit her again. The Fengjiu tells her it seems that Ji Heng lost her memory, she doesn’t recognize her own name. Chengyu thinks she might be pretending and that they should test it with the sword design that Lian Song gave to Donghua so he could modify it and make the gift for Chengyu. Chengyu will bring the plans to Fengjiu as well as some food because she can’t get used to the food in the mortal realm.
Chengyu manages to get the plan, but she has to pay a price which is a date with Lian Song hahaha. That ship is so much more interesting than the main leads one! I hope they get a happy ending.
Back in the mortal realm, Xuanren releases Ye Qingti from looking for the mysterious girl in the pond. He has another task at hand for him. But he doesn’t really say and as Ji Heng-Chuwan comes in he just leaves. No matter how much she tries, Xuanren doesn’t pay any attention to her and she gets really disappointed. But at least she gets to have a look at the scripts his majesty possesses.
Ye Qingti informs Xiaojiu that Xuanren decided to stop investigating the search for the mysterious girl which makes Fengjiu really happy. They bump then into each other and... Did General Ye realizes that Fengjiu isn’t a man but actually a girl? Uh oh! but we definitely need more Ye Qingti and Fengjiu together. I will miss that character so much when the mortal realm segment is over ):
So Fengjiu rushes to see Xuanren to offer him the plan for the knife while Chuwan is still there. However, she doesn’t react to it, as if she never saw it in the past. So Fengjiu really wonders about why she would comme to the mortal realm.
Awwww. Okay, so Ye Qingti hasn’t notice yet that Fengjiu is a woman and he already starts to have feelings about her. And is in denial since she’s supposed to be his sworn brother. How cute. I’m sooooo team Ye Qingti. But I don’t want him though to end up fighting with Xuanren. I feel I am going to be heartbroken.
Xuanren big brother’s underling couldn’t find anything about the background of Xiaojiu, which makes him angry. They have to find out. Not long after that night, Xiaojiu gets called by his majesty. Of course, that would be a trap. There’s no other way. Especially since they called her to such a creepy place. Oh. No. It’s really the king. What? How weird is this? He’s still looking for that beautiful girl and says that since Qingti was never in love, he can’t understand how he feels. That Xuanren is really annoying haha. In love? You are mesmerized by her beauty and that’s it. That’s not love. You don’t even know who is that girl and you already have consorts.
Finally, Qingti found out about Zhou Mengxi, the girl Fengjiu was looking for. She actually died around the time Xuanren was supposed to be hurt and meet with her. So in the end, Fengjiu’s actions interfered with this girl’s life too and she feels bad about it. Siming then comes as he also got to know that the girl died. In that case, Donghua’s mortal trial failed and he won’t be able to gain back his spiritual powers. Unless... Fengjiu becomes his love trial. So now she’s stuck with an ill body to stick aroung Xuanren’s side. Woops.
At least, that’s more interesting than in Eternal love where basically the mortal trial was for her to have her love story with Donghua and he actually told her how to get that position. It was still a love trial, but I like it more this time, as it is because she messed up. And I just pray for that the love trial won’t be because Ye Qingti is falling for Fengjiu. Qingti has nothing to do with those gods/saints/whatever you want to call them going to the mortal realm for trials. I hope they don’t break him. Poor baby.
