Am I upset that I didn't get a shot of the closet with Mamiya's white clothes next to Toma's black outfits in the final episodes of Cosmetic Playlover?

Yes, but not as upset as Mamiya is about random men showing up at his job asking about his Black Brooder.

Because apparently, Toma comes from a FAMILY of Black Brooders.

Yes, Toma has an entire FAMILY who he doesn't speak to, care about, or even acknowledge, and Heavenly Human Mamiya is pressed and stressed about it.

Because Mamiya is pretty open with his family and actually talks to them. They know about Toma, and Mamiya easily admits they are living together and dating.

But instead of Mamiya just sipping his tea and letting it go, he tells Toma that he needs to not only speak to his family, but to also move back to New York to be with them! In Mamiya's Heavenly Human mind, he thinks he is holding Toma back and he is willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.

Which is incorrect! Toma doesn't care about those Black Brooders! He tells his brother he is perfectly capable of helping with the family or at least he better start acting like it because TOMA! AIN'T! GOING! BACK!

So while Mamiya starts shifting to Toma's color to show he loves him even though they are arguing,

Toma actually planned the magical festival day that Mamiya had because he isn't just about thoughts and feelings, but about actions!

So they make up and kiss after Toma reminds Mamiya he doesn't want nor need anyone else except Mamiya.

And BAM! They both become happier and lighter! Previously, Toma's house was still dark, and even when he wore gray, it was darker,

But now Toma's gray is so light, his color almost looks white. Toma is a makeup artist and his beauty advisor boyfriend is living with him, and they are spending all their time together, so all is well!

Even when Toma has to help out his Black Brooding family at a modeling event, Toma only trusts his boyfriend to help him.

And they live happily ever after in perfect balance.

Well, until the help Toma gave his family leads to Toma's phone constantly ringing because people want him to model for them.

And Mamiya becomes stressed and pressed again.

So his color gets muddier.

While Toma gets a bit lighter as more offers come his way.

And, once again, Toma becomes so darn light.

But it's not just because of the offers, but because he finally sees Mamiya's possessive side in the form of an unfriendly competition.

Toma has been clear that he only needs Mamiya, but this is the first time Mamiya has shown that he doesn't want anyone else to have Toma's attention or time.

So Toma plays into his brooding ways.

And even though Mamiya tries to act tough as he turns gray with little black strips,

It's very clear he loves his Black Brooder as he wraps himself up in a black blanket on the couch instead of snuggling up to Toma in the next room.

So although Mamiya loses the competition, he proved that he was the best and won an award for it.

And Toma is happy for his Heavenly Human as he combines their colors with his gray sweater.

Because Toma wants Mamiya to be happy. He wants Mamiya to be by his side. He wants Mamiya, period.

And now that he knows Mamiya wants him just as much, to be happy, to be by his side, to be his, period, they can live happily ever after.

They finally found the balance they needed between a Heavenly Human and a Black Brooder.

Which means they are completely obsessed with each other and possessive of each other, but it's not one-sided. No, they are EQUALLY crazy about each other.

Good for them.

I might have a song recommendation that might fit Licorice. When I listen to & read the lyrics of Brandy's song "Come a Little Closer" (one of my favorite songs of hers), it makes me think of Sweetheart & Bitterbat as teens right before they had to say goodbye & how sad they were (that one pic you drew of them a while back also comes to mind). What do you think?

I see Brandy mention, my faith in the song being accurate to some OCs I got increases ten fold.

THAT BEING SAID - Yeah it def fits.

Brandy is one of my fave artists when it comes to me handing music to my OCs because there's those little 90s and 2000s RnB sounds in her songs that really tickles my brain the right way.

They especially fit for Glitter and Guilt since I typically imagine the sound track for that story, as well as Sweetheart and Bitterbat's relationship, being really early 2000s songs.

sometimes i feel the need to yell about how much i love Damage Gets Done by Hozier and Brandi Carlile

i always feel like no one fully understands me on this but GOD every single thing about that song is goddamn PERFECT

i mean WHAT THE SONG IS ABOUT first of all, just feeling young and loving life WOW

Brandi Carlile going “if the car ran the car was enough” is something i feel in my SOUL, it scratches my brain

AND THEN “that first car was like wings on an angel” AAAAH IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT

Episode five and six of Cosmetic Playlover showed me that Sahashi, no TOMA, has always been a Black Brooder because the world has been cruel to him.

And even now, he is looking sad in all the nicest places as he sits in a Parisian café with no service and broken heart.

But, of course, even Heavenly Human Mamiya is sad because he keeps sending message.

Yet gets no reply.

So I liked that both boys were slightly out of their color (and element) this episode when we saw them with Harukawa.

Yet when the service kicked back in and so did the messages, Toma was in grey and Mamiya was in his usual cream/white with black lines.

As if they were ready to mix their colors (and lives) together.

Yet they were back in their element (and color) the day after as they settled into their new norm.

(Even though Mamiya had to put on the same clothes so he could do the walk of shame an adult who slept with his boyfriend and spent the night which is perfectly normal and should not be shamed!)

But my favorite part of these two episodes is when they moved in together because it's clear Toma is still holding onto secrets about his past (as Black Brooders do) like stating he doesn't know if he has siblings and commenting how he has always been territorial in a way over his stuff.

But I fully expect to see Mamiya's white and cream clothing filling up the right side of the closet before this series is over.

Because these two do balance each other out.

And are very happy together.

So it wasn't surprising that we saw Mamiya had one grey shirt when he moved it.

Because he immediately wore it coming home to his boyfriend the next day after confessing to Harukawa that they were dating as a small way to show they are blending their lives (and colors) together.

And both of them have started wearing bits of each others' color on them.

So regardless of what this Black Brooder does (it's always another Black Brooder in this show just popping up to stir up trouble!)

The boys will be fine because Mamiya has to still put his white and cream colored clothing on the right side of Toma's closet.

And because color-coded boys in love get happy endings.

Or else.

The idea of them always finding eachother, that they know something is missing is so beautiful. Do you ever just cry at your own writing? You've written some really beautiful stuff

thank you so much 🥺 i don't think i'm a very technically good writer, so my goal has never been to write the most eloquent prose, but i like to think i'm good at capturing emotions. at the very least, it makes ME feel something jfkjsds but i don't usually get emotional about my own story until i'm seeing the final product. there's so much time and effort that leads up to each scene, with the writing, scene setting, pose making / posing, taking screenshots, editing, etc. that it's kind of impossible to immerse myself. but when i read through the final scene, i can take the time to really feel it for what it is.

i think i've only cried (like actual tears) once that i can remember...? it was this scene, because i listened to do not let your spirit wane on repeat long enough for it to STILL be my most listened to song on spotify. so... i was really feeling my emotions that day lmao. sometimes i'll just be sitting around doing nothing and finn's face in this scene pops into my brain and i'm like 🥹 and asa running like that sjfkjsd it's a top 10 post for me
