@general-illyrin @tar-thelien @who-needs-words I think you all mentioned being interested in the reverse gondolin au - is anyone interested in helping with wrangling the timelines, especially the second age stuff? Here's the current outline:

3310 - Morgoth cult publicly reappears.
3319 - Downfall of Numenor. Tar-Miriel leads a greater force of the Faithful away.
(green // blue means two main options, red means i need to think about it more)
The main details I'm figuring out right now are
does Celebrimbor still die at Eregion - I don't think he's getting captured/tortured, but he could still die in the battle. On the other hand, he could probably survive by using Narya & Lomion using Nenya, but that would definitely have repercussions further down the line
how does Idril's deal work - I'm currently thinking of Idril exchanging the location of Gondolin for her family's guaranteed safety, because it seems in character for Reverse Idril? But on the other hand, even if I limit it to immediate family at the time of the oath (tuor, turgon, earendil) then idk where turgon dies? Maybe Maglor can kill him but that seems kind of random
where and how does Turgon die
how does Prince Elrond's character even work
how does Numenor still fall when factoring in Prince Elrond - I'm thinking that the morgoth death cult gained enough traction during the time sauron was there that even after Elrond kicks him out, the cult still sticks around and reemerges later? The Fall still happens, but they never go to attack valinor and there's a good deal more Faithful (maybe 40-60%?)
#silm#silmarillion#not art#reverse gondolin au#basically elrond is giving me a Lot of trouble here#i tacked an extra 30 years onto the FA (so the SA dates are mostly shifted up by 30 years to balance it out; hence elros being king in SA 2#this means e&e were adults during the Fall of Gondolin and the war of wrath and all#so instead of 'kind as summer' elrond of the last homely house in rivendell#we have gondolithrim veteran/dragonslayer Prince Elrond of Imladris Stronghold#and later the Bastion of the Faithful of Numenor#ironically enough he turned out way more feanorian when not raised by feanorians#instead of sirion e&e's defining Childhood Trauma was the gondolin kinslaying#in which mae and aredhel duel to the death while screaming at each other about fingon's fate and the Oath#and argon and elenwes deaths on the helcaraxe#also elwing fully died trying to protect them in this one#and then e&e were like 20something and sons/grandsons of two Lords durign the FoG so obviously they ended up fighting there too#and then again at the war of wrath#and by the mid SA elrond has already lived through so many wars he's running rather low on hope#so Prince Elrond still tries to be kind but is also substantially more willing to threaten people if need be#after eregion he founds imladris as a haven but also an impenetrable fortress#he saw the fall of gondolin and he knows that rivendell couldn't last forever#but he believes he can make it last long enough to defeat sauron first#or at least push him back so that the refugees of eregion can rebuild and survive#meanwhile celebrimbor takes up the last homely house role#but yeah Prince Elrond is pretty interesting#he intervenes more with numenor bc hes watching them self destruct and knows (bc foresight) exactly what would happen#so he tries (eventually in vain) to prevent it by disowning and exiling ar pharazon#and later exiling sauron around the time of the burning of nimloth#but it's too late and the morgoth cult already gained enough traction#on the other hand there's a lot more Faithful led by tar-miriel

#9 What if...
Harumi took Lloyd's destiny, but Destiny didn't like that?
A LEGO Ninjago fanfic
Destiny holds its threads in a tight embrace. Weaving more colors into its grand tapestry while cutting frail strands mercilessly.
But even the dead strands remain, tucked into the corners of the weave because Destiny will never let go of its strings.
Even the smallest, least favored thread has its place. But don't fool yourself into thinking Destiny doesn't play favorites.
Destiny will always have its favorites after all.
Often people fool themselves into thinking Destiny favors them. Thinking they can demand destiny to let their wildest wishes come true.
Oh, how Destiny laughs at them. So foolish to think Destiny would possibly favor them!
Those who are favored by Destiny always know even if they wish to ignore the truth.
Destiny favors those destined for greatness. Even if greatness means anguish.
People, of course, then blame Destiny for their subpar lives, and their deaths.
Foolish they are to think Destiny would care. For all Destiny is possessive, as everything they live is theirs, so too are their deaths.
[Lest Destruction take them, but that’s off topic for today]
Destiny is but a guiding force. A gentle or iron hand is up to the individual.
People may think their paths are set in stone, but no. Their paths are set in pencil, and one's will marks their way in pen.
But Destiny never believed in equal lives and equal struggles. That would make their loom oh so boring, you see.
For gold will always be gold.
And you will always be less.
Still, you have the free will to think you can amount to more.
The will to live.
The will to act.
That is all up to you, my dear.
…
Oh, you think you're so special to be a favored of Destiny’s?
You truly believe you can mess with its tapestry so brazenly, and It will sit back?
…
Ha, Destiny will tear you apart my dear.
…
Power is always so enticing. A taste of the poison that has you addicted without a cure.
*Sigh* I guess you’ll have to learn the hard way.
…
You’ll learn how Destiny is something you’re born into.
No matter how much you strive and hunger, you will never be any better than the sewer rat in Destiny’s eyes.
You’ll never be those treasured threads that Destiny helped spin from Creation. The strings held so tightly and brightly on Its loom.
The strands that It'll never let Destruction take.
…
Now go. Foolishly try to prove you’re favored, you're loved, by dear Destiny.
But don’t say I didn’t warn you.
…
Bye-bye!
××××××××××
Harumi gathers a lot of power to change Destiny, so she is the green ninja adopted daughter of Garmadon, and Lloyd is the abandoned Jade Prince.
Lloyd doesn't know why everything always felt so wrong, like this itch in his body that never went away, but then he meets the ninja, he meets his dad (the good one), and he sees her — the once Jade Princess from his memories, now the green ninja. And he feels furious. Those powers are his birthright, as the grandson of the creator of Ninjago, a descendant of Creation and Destruction in Oni and Dragon ancestry. They will never be her’s, and she’ll soon learn what happens to mortals that play with powers beyond their control.
It’s why Destiny always favored Lloyd, and Harumi was a mere footnote to Destiny, a cockroach that didn’t like to die if you will. It’s Lloyd’s birth rite to be the Green Ninja, and it will never be Harumi’s try as she might to change her destiny.
And so, Lloyd will fight, his will strong and unmovable. He'll fight to save his and his families’ destinies before Harumi threatens the whole loom to collapse with her meddling.
In other words, this a role swap au that Destiny hates and will not allow, but that doesn't mean that It will do all the heavy lifting to get things back on track. No, that's the true Green Ninja's job.

young elim gets in more trouble than any of the other garak-bashir kids in school. his classmates think its so weird that his father keeps a scantily-clad scaleless federation human as a husband and lim has to defend his father's honor
#dee s 9#garashir adoption au#garak teaches all the children some solid self-defense. at least keep your thumb outside your fist#julian is apoplectic. he does NOT need his 10 year old son to Defend His Honor#sadly lim is easy to tease because his skin is sososo thin... but the man is proud of his It has to be done so I will Do It quality#and sometimes what has to be done... is beating your classmate's ass for calling your dad a ho#garak: my dear boy! this is NOT the way to do it. sada and turo are fascinating characters for the obvious reasons and it definitely drives me crazy thinking about how they were willing to do a bunch of insane and dangerous things for the sake of bringing about paradise on earth, but i don’t think we acknowledge enough the fact that their idea of ‘paradise’ consists of a bunch of dinosaurs and robots running around. no world peace, no sociopolitical movements, no bringing back long-lost people. they straight up just wanted to play with cool toys they read about in picture books and that ended up driving them insane. they’re so funny
#now i knowww i’m sure it’s more complex than that#like the real implication here is that both of them are on the whole dissatisfied with the present age#sada is like ‘reject modernity embrace tradition’ and turo is like ‘PROGRESS PROGRESS PROGRESS’ to a reckless degree#i think their end goal was really to let the modern world be entirely reshaped into that old/new image#they knew very well that the paradox pokémon wouldn’t be able to peacefully coexist with the rest of the living beings in modern-day paldea#that destruction was foreseen#they saw it as a feature and not a bug#they WANTED that. they wanted to violently raze the world as it was to the ground and have their research byproducts create a new one#sparing only themselves and their son#(au where they succeeded but the paradox mons get way out of control and kill arven too. and then the prof experiences Regret.)#basically this is all to say i think the professors knew full well what they were doing and there was a lot of subtext in there#making them truly and genuinely insane people who still cling to the notion of a good cause#BUT. on the surface it looks like yaaay dinosaurs :) woah cool robots! :0#literally just a pair of kids in preschool reading picture books and developing hyperfixations#so i think it’s funny#pokémon#scarlet and violet#sv spoilers

kinda curious how ryuken would view akira lol
huh i barely consider ryuuken in this au which is funny bc its like oh yeah he exists 💀 akira and ryuuken barely talk moreso bc akira doesnt like him bc of uryu and ryuuken finds akira a little uncouth and rude but he does see that akira is good for uryu as a good friend bordering brother which is good for social development and such. theyve probably exchanged a few words before when they are standing awkwardly in a kitchen in silence bc uryu isnt there to be a sort of bridge. the main sort of thing of note ryuuken takes of akira is that oh this is masaki’s son so he isnt exactly uncaring but hes not harboring much affection or really any positive emotions other than he looks like masaki and is displaying more quincy stuff i should say hi or something. he knows they’re different people. i feel like ryuuken finds akira a little off putting bc he does connect akira to masaki so seeing someone who resembles masaki and seeing so much anger its a little unsettling for him. even though he’ll do nothing about it he does wonder how dark of a path akira’s rage will take him
#ask#50offsoul#ichiverse au#akira is driven by vengeance moreso than uryu like uryu has to keep akira incheck sometimes#akira is pretty self destructive i would say. and i dont consider the fact that they all will go through character development spoilers#but if he doesnt go through the arc i planned for him and never met the others#he absolutely would have a pretty depressing fate its more like ryuuken can see it but he doesnt think he should interfere#ryuuken probably sort of hints at isshin that maybee you should check up on your son. probably. or he doesnt who knows#ryuuken is just an odd characger to me sometimes its like man what is your deal

Hihi! Oc post here about Kere and Oveah because I've been meaning to post about them anyways, and @dyson-the-vacuum asked me about them so of COURSE I'm going to oblige ♡
(More Below Cut)
So, Kere and Oveah are two young adults (no one kept track of their ages, but like, 19/20) who were raised in Space in a place that humans usually aren't found.
To cut the story very to-the-point, Kere and the aliens who raised him land on the planet where Oveah has lived all his life. Oveah acts as ambassador for the new aliens since he's the only sentient thing there, and after some shenanigans Kere and Oveah end up in love.
To go more in-depth:
Kere Kcora, Age 20(ish), 6'1", He/They
Kere was a young child when the space-exploration crew he was with was captured by hostile forces. The crew was killed or sold off into lavor/expetimentation/etc for species who weren't friendly with Earth. Kere, as a baby, ended up with the Kcora. (A race that has a tech-based hivemind that absorbs other species into itself to learn.)
The Kcora decided that he was too young to fully absorb into the hivemind, so instead they partially connected him and left him be somewhat independent. It was originally a study that wasn't meant to last, but somehow the hive as a whole decided that leaving Kere as a half-hive would suffice.
As he grew older, Kere started acting as a mediator between species on planets and his own people, since he had free will at all times it made things easier. Kere rarely connects to the hivemind unless he's in distress, and he's very brash and unapologetic. He has his entire hive behind him, so what's to fear?
Kere's design is actually lacking tech in comparison to the rest of the Kcora. His right arm was only replaced after he asked for it to be (He didn't look enough like his family.) and his chest has that glowing target shape which monitors his emotions and physical wellbeing (the center ring pulses with his heartbeat, the outer ring glows brighter/dimmer based on his mental state) and was placed on him when he was young. He'd never let these devices be taken from him willingly.
Oveah Eden, Age 19(ish), 5'9", (He/It/They)
He also has a lot of wires and glowing implants just beneath his skin that mimic an android body without having to actually replace parts, hense the lines along his legs and the slight glow/color given off by his hair. They don't harm him at all, just look a bit more pleasing and make him blend into tye vibes better.
Oveah was born on Earth, but as an infant his family was chosen to move to a new colony. On the way there, the ship crashed into a planet known as Eden. There were very few survivors, but Oveah's parents and himself were among them. His parents cared for Oveah the best they could, they outlasted the other settlers at least, but they too died due to the hostile environment and wilds on Eden.
Having said that, the planet had sentience. Just enough to decide to keep Oveah alive. Incubate him in a plant pod until he was old enough to comprehend language and do basic survival tasks. He was about 11 perhaps when Eden woke him from the incubation, and he already had the understanding and teachings beyond an average 11 y/o might (same way the Planet understood what the settlers were saying/doing despite not ever having seen humans before. Understanding chemical energies and subtle things that happen subconsciously to convert it into sonething recognizable w/o any thought).
Oveah was given a rock (which can be seen in his headband) that Eden uses to communicate directly with Oveah through. Hid whole life he was very self-sufficient with executing tasks, but without the advising of Eden in his ear, he had no curiosity or personal drive to accomplish things. Often if Eden ignored him for a day, it would find him slumped in its sleeping nest where it was that morning. Very rarely does Oveah find sonething that interests them outside of Eden's guided suggestions. The planet trues to socialize him, but with no other living sentience to communicate with, there was nothing to be done.
Oveah's design is very lightly colored. His jacket is made of left-over material from a space-suit he found tucked in a stump once, and the rest of it he weaved/sewed himself. His hair is tinted pink thanks to the incubation period slightly altering his DNA.
The Kcora are a traveling species that will mine for ores from older planets, though they've learned to only take from one section at a time as to not deplete resources. They've been to Eden before, Millenia before the boys were born, buy they return to the planet with the hopes of once again mining that protected section of the planet.
Kere is sent with a small group to meet Eden's representative (in all the recent centuries Eden has been abandoned in the record books) and that's how they meet.
Kere is the first thing in a long time that genuinely interests Oveah, meanwhile Oveah is adorable in Kere's eyes while also being extremely unsocialized which bothers him. From their first few meetings onwards, Kere is insistent on Oveah trying out new experiences, while Oveah is working through his interest in Kere.
The first time Kere sleeps on Eden he unintentionally plops sideways onto Oveah and the poor planet-boy is never away from Kere's side ever again. Touch (whether that be soft like swiping hair away or sitting beside eachother, or it's rough-housing and tumbling around in the mud) is what ultimately brings them together.
The Kcora are notorious for their closeness, but only mentally. Because their minds are linked, their bodies rarely have time for affections like humans. Only because they realized Kere would thrive in a more touch-based environment did they start hugging him or giving him head pats or sparring. He never went a day w/o friendly touch. Meanwhile Eden was full of dangerous and untamed creatures that Oveah could never tame, so he was utterly alone all his life. The first time Oveah asked to rest in the same space, Kere was happy to smother him in cuddles (platonic, at the time) simply because he rarely got the opportunity with the Kcora. It wasn't the same.
And eventually, when Pveah had to move off-planet for a while to let the surface shift and do things that definitely would've killed him, he rarely left Kere's side. They were practically the same entity for the week or so that they had.
#light's spot#my art#oc#sketch#wip#Kere#Kere Kcora#Oveah#Oveah Eden#the Kcora are basically the Borg from startrek but a lil more curious and a lot less destructive#and Eden is a sentient planet that speaks to specifically one (1) kid who is also its son#Kere is basically the extrovert and Oveah is the introvert#best-socialized human in the universe vs. worst socialzed human in the universe#(spoilers they kiss)#these guys were actually versions of Dream + Killer (as in snas aus) back in the day meant for personal fics#but I ended up liking them too much and made them humans recently :)#it always comes back to that goofy game lmao

Ancestor's Fury AU
( Inspired by @glow-in-the-dark-death and @vixen-uchiha )
The Infinite Realms are, well, Infinite. They are the doorway between dimensions and contain every after life. This includes the Krypton one.
When Danny learned that the Infinite realms contained the afterlife for aliens he didn’t stop gushing about it to Jazz for days. He was awestruck. Not everyone would stop to talk to this excited child, especially when they don’t know that he is the King, but some would, like the Kryptons. They were quite happy to talk to the boy king, especially when they could get updates on the last of their kind in the Living Realm. When they learned about the Anti-Ecto Acts and the role the Justice league and the last of their living had in it they were angry and confused. To learn about why the Justice League didn't do anything about the Acts they traveled into the Living Realm to find out. This is how they found out about how Superman treats Superboy.
When Danny first told them about Superboy they threw a party, after all they gained a new family member. Look at the baby, isn’t he adorable?! Traveling to the Living Realm and finding out he was a clone didn’t change that fact. Learning how Superman treats him for being a clone however opens the floodgates of their fury. They were already weary because of the inaction with the Anti-Ecto Acts and now he is calling the baby an “it”! Not happening on their watch.
Then they remember the boy king. The one who brought this to their attention in the first place and who has a clone he treats as family. So they decided to bring this to his attention.
Danny, when he learns of this, is furious. He knows what it is like to be cloned by your worst enemy in an attempt to replace you, but that is on the fruitloop who cloned you not the child who was dragged into their scheme and is as much of a victim as you are. He could never treat Ellie the way Superdouche does. For Ancients sake he was barely a teenager when it happened and yet he handled it better than a full grown adult superhero (not that he should be called that after what he has done).
In conclusion no one is happy with the news, especially Ellie. She is furious with how her fellow clone is treated and is definitely planning Superasses demise, though silver lining, clone buddy!
All of this leads to Danny putting a blacklist on Superman. No one from the realms can help him and are welcome to beat him up as long as no one else gets hurt. So when the JL Dark gets called to help because Superman keeps getting targeted by supernatural beings they refuse and explain the black listing. The JL then bullies John Constintine into summoning the Ghost King, who is his nephew, not that they know that, to retract the blacklisting.
Danny: Yeah no, can’t help you there. The ghosts hunting you down are not very happy with your parenting, and neither am I for that matter.
Superman: ??? I don’t have a son.
Danny: *sarcastically* So the kid running around with the moniker Superboy is someone else’s Krypton kid? Sorry, didn’t know there was another Krypton that survived the destruction of their planet.
Superman: It’s a clone, not my son.

Ok, I don't really post here, but there's a Merlin AU idea that's been rattling around in my skull like it's a pinball machine and I need to get it out, so here we go:
Imagine an AU where Balinor doesn't die and banishes Kilgarrah before sneaking away so Uther doesn't catch him and can't put his newfound son in danger. Of course, both he and Merlin are heartbroken about having to be separated again after just finding each other, but they work out a way to keep in touch and occasionally meet in secret.
And this is all well and good, and everything in the show just kinda proceeds as normal up until about season 4, where we have the knights of the round table well-established in Camelot.
It'd make sense that after a few years of travelling around with Kilgarrah, Balinor would be pretty well-known and well-feared throughout all the five kingdoms as "that dragonlord who escaped the purge and now travels around on the back of a giant dragon", and people all over Albion are kinda terrified of the guy.
Rumors say that he never smiles, that he can kill a man in a split second without even utterring a spell, and can decimate kingdoms with the dragon under his total command. That makes for a formidable figure!
And then one day, Balinor is trying to sneak into Camelot to visit his son (he heard Merlin got hit by a dorocha and wants to make sure he's ok!), and the knights see him and freak out because holy shit that's one of the deadliest guys in Albion!
They're in a tense standoff, with Balinor threatening to call down the dragon on them if they don't let him through. The knights are all ready to give their lives to at least buy the people in the castle time to evacuate, when suddenly Merlin and Arthur make it to the standoff. Arthur immediately starts strategizing with his knights on how they're going to negociate with the sorcerer in an attempt to make sure that they aren't all slaughtered.
Meanwhile, Merlin just laughs and pushes through the rows of knights blocking Balinor's path to the castle. The knights, being very fond of Merlin and not wanting to see their kind little friend be brutally murdered by one of the most terrifying men in exsistence, are trying to grab Merlin and pull him back to safety or shouting at him to get back, but Merlin manages to avoid them as he walks up to Balinor.
For a horrifying moment, the knights and Arthur think that Merlin is about to sacrifice himself for them, but Merlin breaks into a huge grin, yells "Dad!", and runs right into Balinor's arms.
(Merlin and Balinor reason that now that Arthur's king, they might as well start easing him into some of Merlin's less shocking secrets)
And even more shockingly to the knights, Balinor hugs him back, asking Merlin all about how he's been doing, how are his studies under Gaius, etc etc.
And all of the knights just bluescreen. Because the math isn't mathing on this one. Hunith + Balinor = MERLIN?! Does not compute.
They're all pondering how could someone as joyful, friendly, and kind as Merlin be the spawn of a terrifying man like Balinor?? They just cannot comprehend it. The manservant who they all know and love came from this sorcerer who's name is synonymous with the threat of death and destruction??
They're all jolted back to reality however when Balinor asks Merlin if he wants to come back to Balinor's newly-renovated stronghold in the mountains (that's only accessable by riding a dragon) to learn more about one day becoming a dragonlord. And suddenly, the knight understand why Balinor's here. He wants to kidnap Merlin from them and twist him into a terrifying sorcerer to carry on Balinor's legacy!
It all basically dissolves into a long game of high-stakes tug-of-war between Balinor and the knights + Arthur, and Merlin's just enjoying spending time with his father and his friends.
Balinor will just casually crash one of their quests while riding Kilgarrah and "kidnap" Merlin while the knights fight to keep Merlin with them.
Balinor eventually gives Merlin Aithusa so he can get practice raising dragons, and the knights see it as some evil scheme to make Merlin betray Camelot and attack it from within, but damn it Merlin's already adopted the damn thing so now they're stuck with a baby dragon.
IDK if I'd ever write a fic about it since I'm pretty busy writing another fic rn, but I thought that it was a funny idea to throw out there!
PS: if anyone wants to read my current project, where I'm giving Sir Leon more anxiety with each chapter after a kinda-botched magic reveal on Merlin's part (and Merlin may or may not be an eldritch god), feel free to check it out here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/54027337/chapters/136771564
Thank you all for sticking with my incoherent rambling! :D I hope you have a great day/night!
Also, please let me know if you guys wants to hear more of the ideas that pinball around in my head!

Apprentice of time Danny AU.
in Danny’s dimension, he was Phantom, savior of Earth, and also Danny Fenton. To the rest of the universes he was a nobody, a cryptid, a shadow.
As Danny got older, he began to learn what it would take to be King. This causes Clockwork to send him on missions through time and space, which eventually lead him to the DC verse.
Clockwork had told him of some things to say if he was ever confronted about his identity. Danny agreed, because why would he argue with the ancient of time? Clockwork knew best. But he also knew Clockwork was an asshole, and he figured this was one of those times.
He was floating above the surface of the planet. He didn’t want to touch ground on molten lava, so that’s why he had opted to float. He was going to try and reason with Darkseid, the way he always tried to. He was a being of peace, after all. But Darkseid was not to be reasoned with, so Danny did what he must for the timeline. Apokolyps was destroyed violently. The shockwaves of this planet’s destruction echoed through the universe.
Earth found all of their missing meta teens delivered back safely, and they didn’t have any other problems from Apokolyps ever again. Highfather invited Danny to a grand dinner fit for a god.
By the time whispers travel to Earth of the new god of space, the legends had already dubbed him as the son of Kronos. The protector of the innocent.

Batfams sin Batman are some of my ✨favorite✨ AUs.
Consider:
Talon!Dick gets assigned to Tim Drake (kid of an Owl family, the Drakes.) They are both very lonely and EXTREMELY undersocialized. They bond.
They eventually meet up with Resurrected!Jason, who has already lived and died (RIP) and is now back to take Gotham under his crime lord wing. It'd work better if tiny!Damian wasn't clinging to him, but eh. It'll do.
"If we work together, we could take down the court of owls...👀"
Red Hood now operates out of Drake manor. Rent is free and they don't lose out on warm water at random. It checks out.
Damian goes out at random because he's eight and a menace. On three separate occasions, he comes back with a cat, a dog, and Cassandra Cain
"Cain is LIKE a dog." "A girl is not a dog, Damian."
"Sometimes they are." "DAMIAN."
Jason comes home one day with Duke. No one questions it. He's just lumped into the cloud of brothers/sister/sibling thing they currently have going on and he gets sorely needed sandwiches
The destruction of the court of owls ensues—badly, because everyone is under the age of 25, and poorly fed to boot—
and then culminates in Batman opening an unusually loud sewer grate, and finding a) a dead child he failed to save, b) his dead son, c) the neighbor, d) TWO child assassins, and, 5) Duke Thomas, arguing at the top of their lungs about how to attack a highly sought after and popular local politician.
Batman looks at the Robins(es).
The Robins(es) look at Batman.
...Everyone immediately books it in a different direction lol
#everyone joins the batfam weirdly lol#Imagine opening a sewer grate and inside are all your future kids#and you're dressed up as a bat#and they're trying to blow up the local government because...?#wait does this make the Robins a domestic terrorist group? Imagine a terrorist group that can all resoundingly go to Juvie#Jason: I'M NOT GOING TO JAIL!!!#Bruce: ...? Of course not. You're seventeen#Jason: ...#Jason: FUCK#dc#talon!Dick grayson#court of owls

I understand that many people prefer the Odysseus raising Astyanax AU because killing an infant is cruel. But you guys need to remember that cities have been doomed because people didn't dispose of their prophesied-to-do-evil babies correctly.
Oedipus was prophesied to kill his father and marry his mother, so he need to be rid of. The servant who was supposed to kill Oedipus spared and sent him away. Years later, Thebes lost its rulers and was wrecked with plagues.
Paris was dream-prophesied to cause the fall of Troy, so he need to be rid of. The shepherd who was supposed to kill Paris spared and secretly raised him as his son. You see what turned out for the whole city later on.
You see the resemblances with Odysseus' pleas?
"I could raise him as my own
Or send him far away from home
Make sure his past is never known."
Zeus weren't just being an unreasonable jerk for making Odysseus kill Astyanax. That child was prophesied to be the destruction of all surviving Greeks who sacked his city, whether out of his own rage or accidentally through some chains of events.
Odysseus knew the preceeding stories and how it had turned out. So he could only do what needs to be done if he wanted to save his family, his allies, and himself.
It's only one life to take to save thousands of other lives. For once, Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves was the right choice.
