I think about Mithrun’s parents a lot. I wanna know what they’re like, if they’re still alive, what his relationship with them is like, etc.

Spoilers Ahead ‼️

I especially think about his biological father. Was he a noble or a commoner? Did Mithrun’s mother truly love him or was it a fling? Did the affair last long? And when did Mithrun find out the truth?

I think if he found out pre-dungeon, he’d refuse to ever meet his biological father, resent his mother (more than he already did), and try to pretend that he was a legitimate son. It would be another insecurity, another quality of his life and himself to hate.

Post-dungeon, he wouldn’t care. Why would he ever want to meet him? It doesn’t matter.

Post-canon, I think he’d still not care, but wonder sometimes if it might be beneficial. Kabru is always talking about closure, so…

I headcanon that his parents are obsessed with their image as a family and their connections, which contributed a little to why pre-dungeon Mithrun was like that. I think post-canon Mithrun would avoid them just bc they’re tiring, and for 20-ish years treated him like the unwanted, secret child hidden in the attic. He went from the favorite(except when it mattered, like when choosing who to send to the canaries, ofc they wouldn’t favor the bastard) to the son that they pretended didn’t exist. And when he becomes Captain, they wanna claim him again— though not as much as before, seeing as he’s not ~perfect~ anymore. Once he starts to learn how to respect himself, he wouldn’t put up with them. He wouldn’t put up with them before that either, but it was more just bc he was apathetic towards having a relationship with them.

But I think about how they might be as people. Maybe they stayed together, and his not-biological father chose to raise him only because it would be looked down upon by their peers and other nobility if they divorced. He might be humiliated that his wife cheated on him, but pleased that Mithrun was outwardly charming and able, unlike his real son who he didn’t prefer bc ableism. And that, combined with elven society, contributed to Mithrun’s complexes. So, pre-dungeon Mithrun might’ve just been like decor to them, a pretty trinket on the shelf intended to impress their peers. And when the trinket broke, they just brushed the pieces beneath the furniture to be ignored.

🌑Creepypastas Personalities and things they do in my eyes🌑

🫀 Eyeless Jack is very stoic, not showing much emotion ever. If he has to, for example if he helps to calm down Sally he’ll show concern. But outside of the mansion he never shows emotion. He’s kind when he wants to be, and isn’t completely heartless. If a pasta that he particularly likes is sick than he’ll go out of his way to check on them and grabbing something they need and once his sees that they’re okay he’s gone. If one of the proxies gets hurt in the field? He’s actually throwing a fit that they should be more careful. He’s one of those types of people where he gets mad when someone’s hurt because he couldn’t stop them from it, but he’ll never admit it.

🌲 Slenderman I see as a father figure for everyone. He’s is like a single dad. With the help of two out of his 3 brothers (offenderman is seen as a disgrace to his family’s name and unfit to be around children, especially Sally) He lets the kids (the grown adults that most of them are) rant if they want and tries to have fun with them. He understands that almost all of them didn’t have good childhoods and he feels bad. That’s why he keeps taking them in, having them promise to work for him. Once they say yes, he takes them in and the mansion grows another room (or tombs as I like to call them) 🎮 Ben is pretty nice. Sure, he’s snarky sometimes but he’s a kid. What do you expect? Plus he stays in his room most of the time or he’s hanging out with Jeff. He sees some of the other proxies as his siblings, but he’ll never admit it. Never in a billion years. He’d rather go swimming. Slender does have to trick him into showering because of how scared of water he is. Don’t ask me how bc I dunno. Personally, I would just spray him with a hose. But I digress

🧸 Sally is the average little girl, but she gets angry easily. I’m not sure where people got the notion that she wouldn’t be an angry restless spirit but that’s their opinion and it’s valid too. I feel like she’s usually nice and kind like everyone says but if she sees offenderman or anyone she deems a threat she can and will throw one of her “fits” where she makes the house rumble and she throws things towards the threat. She’s done it because she saw a spider. 🔪 Jeff is an ass. Period. But he does see the creepypastas as some sort of family. He’ll never admit it either. He makes fun of everyone because that’s how he shows affection. The only person who recognizes that is liu, his brother, who says nothing. Slender tries his best to just leave the kid alone, if he’s behind honest he’s kinda worried about him, but he says nothing. Jeff also is really smart he just never uses his brain so no one knows that.

🐍 liu is shy and quiet. Doesn’t really like talking to many of the proxies so he just keeps to himself. He only ever talks to slenderman and masky really. Sometimes he’ll have a chat with his brother, but he and his brother don’t have a very good relationship. He’s very cuddly when he wants to be and only when he wants to be. He loves a good book. Usually true crime books or something with a good plot. He doesn’t like romance novels because it reminds him too much of who he lost. He tries to be as optimistic as possible, but sometimes it’s hard for him.

🍬 LJ is giddy and goofy, always cracking weird jokes. He has learned over time what everyone’s sense of humor is so he’ll make jokes based off of that. Have dark humor? Dark jokes. Have dad humor? He’ll crack a good dad joke. Deep down he likes making people laugh still, he just doesn’t wanna be laughed at. He’s the one who hangs out with Sally the most when slenderman isn’t around because 1. He has the same childlike wonder and 2. Slenderman thinks he’s funny enough to keep that little ball of energy occupied long enough to not run off into the woods and find some poor hiker and scare the soul outta them.

🪓 Toby is kinda a mix of quiet and a fuck. He likes being nice to some people when he wants and then he’ll be a dick to others. I have a headcanon that he has BPD so that’s why he constantly switches between being nice and acting like you murdered his cat in cold blood. Usually he’s pretty nice and knows how to control it most of the time but it gets the better of him. He is also very good friends with Ben and Jeff, being nicer to Ben and meaner to Jeff. I don’t think he’d hang out with Masky and hoodie too often, but that’s just my opinion.

🚬 Masky’s just plain “I don’t want to talk to you leave me alone.” Never has liked talking never will like it. He has exceptions for certain people like Hoodie and Slenderman. Sometimes he’ll talk to liu because he’s actually one of the more chill proxies and leaves people alone unless they want to talk to him. You could also probably find him smoking outside or sitting outside Slenderman’s office because he feels important when he’s near him. 🍁 Hoodie is the opposite of Masky. Wanna talk? He’s so down. Loves talking about everything and anything. If there’s a mission, though? He stays quiet. Doesn’t talk. He’s laser focused. it’s like he has 2 different personalities.

⚕️ nurse Ann seems like the type that likes taking care of people. She is a nurse after all. She just doesn’t like men very much, considering what happened to her. She trusts most of the proxy boys not to do anything, but if they do then she doesn’t let them near her again. She gives off lesbian vibes and I kinda headcanon that she is dating or best friends with Jane. After missions she’ll patch up the people that need it and I think she’d have her own little infirmary tucked in the corner of the mansion with everything she could possibly need.

🖤 Nina is the perfect example of an extrovert. She’s so hyped up and excited that she gives Sally a run for her money. Contrary to popular belief I think she’d be pretty good friends with Jane. They both got their heart broken by Jeff but Nina continues to try and get him to love her. She likes baking and playing games with all the proxies. Sure she’s seen as annoying but she’s really one of the only extroverted people in the manor.

🕷️ Jane is quiet and kind. She likes to help where she can. I see her as religious to some extent? Not a woman of god per say but a different religion. I feel like she would be pagan and have an altar of some sort to some kind of deity. She is usually in the library reading some sort of book or bringing a book from there to the infirmary to read to Ann.

Disaster Week!

What is your favorite 911 Lone Star disaster or emergency?

Like everyone else, I can’t not say the ice storm!! All the arcs, the emotions, the way it involved everyone, and of course how it was resolved in the legendary episode Push😌

BUT, I will mention the solar storm as next best - so crazy and silly and epic and how they tried to make it grandeur in a way - the story of the astronaut being so far out, but also so heartbreaking, how Grace beings brings him together over the phone to say goodbye to his family😭 and of course, added bonuses: the spookiness of technology in this time and age suddenly going wonky and out of control, Tarlos getting together (hand on thigh, gOod TEaM RigHt? HAND ON THIGH- sorry I’m wonky technology now), and I think one of the first montages where we see where all the members of the 126 end up after the chaos?

And then also just all the smaller natural and non-natural disasters, I love them all! That scritchy-scratchy sound before “911, what’s your emergency” makes me 🤭 every time and I’m always excited to see what silliness they’ll come up with now and I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with in season 5, although I still can’t fathom that it won’t be Grace’s voice saying those words, but that’s another talk.

I love the Texas-focuses ones in the beginning emphasizing the Lone Star of it all, and ‘city slickers’ TK and Owen having to learn new stuff and get used to working in Texas - the bull, the tornados, the corn silo, etc. - also how it brought out all the team members different experiences from being firefighters in different states.

Is there a disaster the show hasn’t already done that you’d like to see?

I can’t even say anything original here, a lot of people mentioned water-based, one even mentioned flooding, and seeing Marjan shine in that type of emergency, which would be so cool! Something boat-related even could be cool but I know that maybe unlikely in Texas.. I also hope to see TK and Nancy show off their competences more while Tommy’s away an for Mateo to show off a bit as well since is no longer a probie and still has that kind of sometimes silly funny side character role that doesn’t do the character entirely justice I think. And I want more of Paul doing ‘THE THING’!

If you’re keeping up with BTS/spoilers, which season 5 disaster are you most looking forward to?

I only really knew about the train and poisonous cloud things, which both look soo cool, but then I heard something about a meteor?👀 that sounds crazy and I’m excited to see how they’ll go about that. We know the Lone Star writers can get very unhinged with these things😂

Which three main characters would you want with you in the event of a massive natural disaster and why.

Tommy! She literally does miracles by saving people very beyond saving realistically speaking and I don’t wanna die in case I get almost decapitated lol. I was going to say Judd bc he basically counts for two bc he has Grave and her building plans and Wikipedia search expertise on speed dial, but then I think @lightningboltreader was like “I don’t want my leg cut off with an axe”🤣 and while I definitely respect Judd’s rationale I’m trying to abide by protocol and keep his crew alive, I would want them to not do that and still survive by some miracle if it was my leg that was stuck😌 so I’m going with Paul and Marjan bc they’re badass and relentless and will go to great lengths to save everybody!!!

Which three main characters would you not want with you in a massive natural disaster and why.

Hm.. Owen because I don’t want a building to fall on my head, TK because I’d be doing the CPR at some point, and Carlos because as @lemonlyman-dotcom he’s probably not actually that good in an emergency and as @lightningboltreader said, he’s literally too beautiful, I’d get distracted and be unable to focus on surviving the disaster😅

Thinking about established tg and how they would be the most annoying clingy couple on the planet. Tom needs to touch Greg At All Times or he will simply pass away. Any gossip Greg hears immediately gets reported to Tom. No one is allowed to say anything vaguely mean to Greg or Tom will throw his coffee at them or fire them on the spot (or both tbh). All of waystar knows when they are fighting bc they make it everyones problem and dont get anything done. People quickly learn they have to be on the same business trips or else Greg pouts the entire time or Tom looks ready to start biting people. This makeout everywhere like its a waystar is a high school hallway. They are annoying as fuck and everyone hates them (but they dont want them to break up because they will be even more annoying)

Libra rising: the people’s Prince. Think of Harry styles they just have a way w people and they know it. Charming asf and very easily likable. Dimples and a noticeable nose (someone said libra rising look like hamster but I think they all have something about their nose that stands out) he spoke in an interview about how important making sure he wears the right clothes and how every little detail is important.

Sagittarius sun: funny asf and it’s crazy because you wouldn’t expect his jokes or funny moments because of his persona. Very very smart and loves to learn. He does talk about home a lot but it’s also a possibility he enjoys traveling. Usually can fit in with people from cultures different than him and is very respectful of their customs. ✈️

Capricorn moon: oldest sibling energy which is crazy bc I think he is the oldest. Money oriented idk a Capricorn moon who does not have a job or some sustainable way of living. Not very emotionally expressive because sometimes emotions don’t “make sense” to a cap moon and they have a hard time letting that mindset go and just feeling.

Mars in the 1st: FAST literally. Can gain muscle easily and enjoys working out. Lives challenges and finds new ways to get better and better and better. Omg their faces can look so mean sometimes😡

Capricorn Venus: Money Money Money. Idk if he’s publically dated anyone but when he does they might be older than him and have some sort of fame outside of him. He took a picture w Naomi Campbell and she’s a Cap rising. I think she’s a perfect description of what a Cap Venus looks for. She’s in the public eye, has an amazing reputation in her industry, classy style, and her bone structure😮‍💨

Libra Mars: a true romantic. Dates, Protective, fancy restaurants. I think people underestimate how powerful libra placements are. Libra get things done and they can do so in a pretty manner. They’re such nice people however you do not wanna see them angry. Think about the guy who shows up to pick you up for a date in a suit w roses in his hand💕

Mars trine Pluto: big “never gonna give up” vibes. Has great self control when they want to. Esp for a male this can make them very magnetic. Control control control. He probably hates lazy people who make excuses for their position in life. Thee coach ♟

Klancers who hate canon lance are so weird and I don’t know why they’re even here. I feel like they just saw allurance, hated it, and projected all their hatred onto him. I saw a klancer say they hate him bc he’s canonly an unempathetic and self centered jerk. Unempathetic?? Lance who stuck up for the Blade of Mamora in canon, the one who everyone looked to give Keith the feelings talk, stuck by Pidge about her dad, and the only character to call out Lotor for not freeing the planets he colonized? That lacking empathy character? And self centered when he was willingly to give up Red and Blue to Allura and Keith? Ready to give up his desire to pilot black to encourage keith to take the role? That self centered selfish asshole?

Canon and fanon Lance gets treated badly by the very fandom who ships hims with keith sometimes and we need to talk about this.

Is...is that a thing? Why would someone like a ship that included a character they hated? I’m actually asking, here, because I’ve never come across someone who ships klance who dislikes either one of them. It’s always the opposite in my experience, where they really enjoy finding good and bad qualities in both characters to make them more relatable and human.

I know that people can ship whoever they want, for whatever reasons they want, but I just feel that if someone actively dislikes Lance then maaaaaybe they should find a ship that they actually enjoy?

But okay... if we wanna talk about how empathetic Lance is...he is. 

The impression I got of him is that he is very aware and sensitive to how others are feeling around him (aka empathetic).  Honestly the only character he is unwarrantedly, legitimately mean to is himself.

And okay, it’s been a while since I dug deep on a post, so here we go.

Lance was the youngest of his siblings (I believe that is actually canon in the paladin handbooks?). Being the youngest, he would have wanted to stand out, which is the most likely reason why he is loud and abrasive, and butts into conversations in an antagonistic way at times. This doesn’t make him self-centered, it just means he has learned that in order to be heard, he has to make himself heard.

The most relatable thing about Lance in my opinion, is how basically all of his behavior can be explained by how others have lead him to believe he is stupid. (This honestly hits on a very personal note for me so it’s something I noticed in Lance quickly.)

He notices everyone around him, and he wants to stand out from the bunch - but he believes he can’t do it with his own intelligence so he finds other ways to stand out. He makes sure others know he is there, even if it means he is the butt of the joke.

It’s easier for him to cope with feeling stupid if he is in control of the narrative.

This, again, doesn’t make him a self centered jerk, it just makes him desperate for a place among his peers, while battling the feeling that he doesn’t deserve that place.

Because emotions are complicated.

The instance where he stood up for the Blade of Marmora is possibly the best example of empathy and lack of self-centeredness.

Lance noticed the scene playing out. He noticed the disdainful looks the Galra were getting and he put himself in their shoes, because he knows what it feels like to be looked down on and he doesn’t want that for anyone else when they don’t deserve it. So the minute something even remotely negative was said toward the Blade, he jumped in and made sure everyone knew that he, a paladin of Voltron, was recognizing and acknowledging the Blade members for their assistance. 

If he had been a self-centered person, he would have taken all the praise for himself and not thought twice about it. If he had been an unempathetic person, he wouldn’t have even noticed the way others were treating the Blade members.

In my opinion, Lance is the most selfless and empathetic character of all of them.

And one of my favorite tropes with klance is having Keith recognize this; having Keith understand how much Lance contributed to the team just by being himself and being there for others. 

That’s the kind of potential that makes klance a good ship to me, and if people are ignoring those traits in Lance then what’s the point of shipping them?

Okay well I’m gonna start with and mostly talk abt dynamics bc I talk about their majors in another ask!! (Also quick note: I’m mostly basing this off of my experience as a college student in the US as well as the glimpses of college we see in canon so if anything is inaccurate to university in Japan I apologize, this is just for fun and not meant to be too serious!)

But so Ryuk and Light Are roommates, and Misa and Rem are roommates. L lives on his own (or at least without another person) partially bc he doesn’t handle people well but also because he lives with his service dog. She’s a large chocolate Labrador retriever named Clue. She helps him with being autistic, mostly she’s there for social and moral support, as well as meltdown avoidance. She’s a big sweetie and is very good at her job!

Light and L are both still tied for being top of their class and as a result have a rivalry from the entrance ceremony onwards. They’re both on a debate team and definitely have full arguments both in debate and in general but it’s nothing too serious, they aren’t outright mean to each other.

Both of them are friends with Misa but don’t realize it until she tries to introduce them and they both freak out bc like of course she wants them to be friends with the one person they can’t stand in the school, but they kind of tolerate each other for her.

Misa and Rem are dating and are very cute, I love them a lot. Ryuk is just Light’s weirdo roommate that he has no idea what to do with. But it’s chill bc Ryuk just kind of does his own thing 99% of the time so Light mostly ignores him aside from polite conversation and Ryuk does the same. Misa and L are definitely super confused the first time they see Light wave politely to this super weird dude (Ryuk) in the hallway one day.

Misa still models though she’s not as famous in this au, and L thinks it’s cool, sometimes he comes along to watch her photo shoots and do his homework. Plus Misa bribes him to come with sweets afterwards. Light came along once and was bored, and just drank coffee after. Rem also goes along sometimes to support her gf.

Hi nonny! Well, I’ve officially come out to my mom, my brothers, my bff, my fiancé and a couple of other close friends. They know I’m bi, but they don’t know I’m a demigirl, and honestly, they never will. I don’t feel comfortable telling them that, tbh. I don’t rlly fancy the idea of me telling them that, especially when the concept of “gender” is something pretty difficult for many Asians to grasp (at least in my experience, don’t come at me, ok? 😭😭😭😭😭)

ok so I came out to my mom one day when I was still a teen. We were talking about one of my closest friends, at the time, my mom told me the girl had very pretty eyes and I went on this ramble about all the beautiful things things the girl had. My mom was just kinda staring at me like “😯”. So I just straight up went and said “Mom, I like girls as well as boys. I’m bisexual” and my mom (who I knew wouldn’t be homophobic abt it) said “cool, now go clean the dishes! 🥰 or ur lazy ass gonna get whooped” (typical Asian mom, smh). I never told my dad cuz his family is much more conservative and my halmeoni from his side think “gay” is synonymous to “mental illness”. I think my dad kinda guessed it, he’s never said anything about it, tho. My older brother came out as pan a few years before me, when he introduced his bf. Then a few years after me, my twin came out as aroace. They preferred to come out to my dad and I preferred my mom. That’s just how shit is. U tell who u wanna tell, and if ur parents are homophobic then they can go fuck themselves tbh. u can tell whoever u want to ok, nonny? And despite what the str8 media tells u about ur parents needing to be the first to know, it doesn’t have to be like that if u don’t want to. Your friends can be the first to know and ur parents could be the last. Your parents don’t even have to know if u don’t want to.

I came out to my friends and while all of them weren’t homophobic to my face or in that moment, many of them showed their true colors with time.

When you come out, you never really know how they’re gonna react. So you gotta learn to not gaf abt their say on this bc they don’t get one. Plus, at the end of the day, this is about u not them, don’t let them twist you’re coming out into something about them. You don’t have to even tell them and if u do tell them, u r doing it for u, not them. You don’t own anyone anything.

If you wanna know, I‘ve never really learned how to deal w the homophobia and I don’t think I ever will. Homophobia, is not something u assume and it doesn’t always present itself in the same way. Sometimes it’s a comment abt how bi ppl are sluts, other times it’s “joking” comment about being able to have as many threesomes as I want, another time it can be someone straight up calling u a slur. You never know, when or how or from whom the homophobia may come and personally I can’t live with having my guard constantly up. So sometimes I fight back, other times I feel like just ignoring them and maybe a couple of times I break down and cry about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ sometimes the most “innocent” comment can be my breaking point while some days and don’t even mind them. Honestly? I find pretty scary the fact that sometimes I realize that I have assumed receiving homophobia and slurs to a very deep level.

i already explained this whole thing multiple times from the reblog from op to couple answered asks about it but yes! but i do believe that the whole argument (if there should be one) should’ve been whether or not the spelling should be /better/ as miru or mireu instead, because they are the most accurate (and if we’re being literal, the only accurate ones for pure korean romanisations.) another new example i would have is when we would romanised surnames like seo or suh, choi or chwe. people use both and can be use interchangeably unless the person put one as their actual government name. nevertheless, they are the same. the only difference would be the easier pronunciation for foreigners who doesn’t speak or know korean. if you consume any korean media and pick up their proununciation and how they romanise/write names, you would know that the ‘eo’ sound is spoken as ‘uh’ and for choi, it is written and pronounced as ‘chwe’ (accurately, though they do let people in western countries pronounce it as choi sometimes... like with lee but it’s pronounced as “ih” literally). of course, there can be exemptions to this rule like no one will romanise a name like eunjae as unjae or eunjeh whereas you can use jaehyun vs jaehyeon. thats why i found it a bit ??!!¥!}¥!¥?_!}_ when i saw them use “mir” and their t/n i was a bit disappointed because they tried to localise a pure korean word. one of my pet peeves and the reason why i learned languages is because i reaaaaaaally disliked it when certain things get lost in translation 😖 and for me, this one felt like it. [as in, it just sounded high and mighty to me the way they worded it but even if you try and google the pure korean word, everyone does romanise it as mireu]. in addition to this, it just makes me a tiny bittttt sad because cale has ALWAYS emphasised the fact that raon’s name is PURE KOREAN so this means a lot to me?!!?¥!}¥!¥ [and tbh, i have translated a few rofan and esp wuxia/xianxia centric novels and manhwas so it was so weird to me when a translator’s thought was to try and romanise a pure korean name like it was a borrowed word. but it’s aight anyways since i do read the raws and just wanted to put my two cents in since a lot of novel readers thought that miru was innacurate] [and like i said before, im not sure if this tl team translate terms like hyung or oppa, etc as is but if they do, i just really don’t understand the type of spite they gotta have for them to try and translate miru/mireu as mir......???]
