i think when people ask "how did you draw that" they moreso mean "what was your thought process for executing the idea the way you did it". which is sometimes extremely hard to answer because the process is so deeply ingrained in our subconcious because it's something we've been drawing for void knows how long. and sometimes the thought process isnt even easy to see when watching the artist draw (either through a speedpaint or a stream), because the better people get at executing their ideas with their subconscious thought process, some of them tend to just. Not sketch basic shapes whatever even though they are thinking subconsciously in those basic shapes to make the sketch and just know where they're supposed to go
