Headcanon that there were a couple online chatrooms for new parents of demigods, so they can find a support network. (because chronologically speaking it was the 90s back when the Seven were born).

Sally meets this one woman from Texas, and they get to talking. She’s got a little boy, about a year younger than her Percy. They share stories about the constant anxieties of parenting a powerful demigod, the horrors of demigod pregnancy, the fears for their boys’ futures, the cute little moments when Percy drew his mommy as a mermaid. Esperanza is funny, and they become good friends despite the fact that they’d never met in person.

Eventually, though, school and work and Gabe all get in the way of things, and Sally and Esperanza lose touch. She still thinks about that woman, though, who was her only confidant in a freaky world. Her one place she could offload all the stresses of life. Her one… hope. She made Sally feel less like she was doing it all on her own. When she had to raise Percy all by herself, she was there. Their lives touched from across the country.

She tried to get back in contact, years later. No response.

She’s probably just not using that old messaging system anymore.

Sally wonders where she is now. She hopes she’s happy.

May I ask what were the best transformers media you ever saw/read?

Well Transformers Prime, Transformers 1986 and IDW comics are having the first place that’s for sure

And then the second place is kind of shared by Fall of Cybertron, Exodus, Prime wars trilogy, Robots in disguise(2001) and Transformers One.

The third place goes to G1, Animated, Earthspark, Armada, War for Cybertron Netflix series, Aligned Robots in disguise, Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and Cyberverse because I only liked some little parts of them.

And then I also saw some of the Bay movies, Victory and Headmasters and didn’t like them at all.

Separate first place for J-Decker. It is not exactly Transformers but it is a show about giant robots and I loved it

i know we love to rag on Siffrin for feeling so miserably guilty and manipulative for the crime of [checks notes] “doing nice things for their friends so that they’ll be happy and care about him even if it’s not perfectly sincere on his end”

but like. in context i don’t think that thought process is anywhere near as nonsensical as it always sounds written out like that

i’m sure i’m just stating the obvious here but it’s not really about the “crime” of making people happy. it’s about what he’s not doing, which is anything that would allow their friends to have any real knowledge or agency over the situation they’re all in.

it’s about never acting according to his real feelings in the moment and letting them see the messier version of him that exists now, never allowing their relationships to evolve or develop meaningfully beyond the “safest” iteration, the thing that is Known and produces the Correct Results, because anything else has the possibility of leading to negative emotions towards Siffrin.

Siffrin knows he’s not really doing all this for their benefit, not entirely, because the “right” thing to do would give them the full context to choose how they feel and what to do about it. they’re happy, but in a way they don’t get to keep. they’re happy, but in a way that keeps Siffrin safe from anything more complex and real. they’re happy, but only because some Siffrin in the past said the right things once, and this new, bitter, lonely, desperate version wouldn’t know how to get the “correct result” without a script to follow. they’re happy, and it was real once, it meant something once, but not anymore.

they cared about that Siffrin, yes, but would they still care about this one, if they knew? if Siffrin ever allowed them to know? (he won’t, he can’t, he refuses.)

and there’s something that could have been said in favor of Siffrin allowing himself this “selfishness” if it made him happy anyway, if it could be a genuine source of comfort in a difficult situation—but it doesn’t! not really! because that guilt is there, because that fear is there, because of how flimsy it all inevitably feels.

so they’re not doing it for their family’s benefit, because that happiness is predicated on lies and ignorance. he’s barely doing it for his own benefit, because they’re torturing themself by revealing things they no longer want to reveal, concealing things they no longer want to conceal, acting out of fear of rejection rather than genuine desire for connection. who benefits from this hollow “kindness,” really?

that’s why the last loop had to be the ugliest one. Siffrin had to see that the worst could happen and there could still be love and connection on the other side. that even when the party sees the worst of him, when they have the agency he’s been knowingly denying them, they will still choose to love him.

Probably not, because Ra’s never took Tim’s spleen.

This is something entirely made up by fandom. Ra’s wasn’t even in the room when it happened.

Tim got stabbed in the gut in red robin #4 and his spleen was hit. It was damaged and needed to be removed (which he can 100% live without. no spleen means a slightly weaker immune system especially in the first couple of years, but things like vaccines and antibiotics mean you can defend urself against illness and be Fine, and you can live a totally normal and healthy life without a spleen)

There was also another person (can’t remember their name) who also lost an organ, and two more who died.

iirc it was White Ghost and a group of lesser assassins who did surgery on Tim (and the other person) tended to his wounds. Ra’s was not in the room and was only mentioned by name as White Ghost’s boss when White Ghsot introduced himself.

So if Tim were to tell the batfam that ra’s “took his spleen”….well, he’d be a liar 💀

Also, the whole spleen thing is just. Kinda weird. Idk why it became so popular, but people now assume that that’s what happened and often times it’s mentioned to whump Tim and have the family coddle him because “he gets sick so easily🥺🥺🥺” but some people so easily cross the line in to being kind of racist about how they describe Ra’s.

I won’t say Ra’s isn’t a villain or can’t be written as one but a lot of time with these posts seem to stray in to the territory of describing him similarly to barbaric stereotypes about brown men or describing him as some kind of mysterious witch or some thing.

I think it’s weird how hostile the art community, on Twitter especially, has become towards children as of late? Like artists that i follow one or two people in common with, I’ll go to their bio and there’ll be something saying “minors fuck off” (or something more violent like kys) and like… dude did the 🔞 emoji not suffice? I completely get not wanting to engage with children (I’m gradually reaching a point where someone follows me and I see they’re 15 or so and get Stressed™️), but that’s still a human person. Grown ass adults will have some weird hatred of kids online for the crime of being children. Something they can’t change.

Idk, maybe I am too woke but calling people miserable for pointing out that the second season of TLOU uses trauma porn as a plot mechanism involving the deaths of characters of color that’s associated with Zionism when it’s a very known critique since the second game is just tone deaf as fuck. I know that people who just want to stick their head in the sand and engage in this content don’t want their experience to be ruined, believe me I do, and talking about these things isn’t done with the intention to do so. But for the love of god, if poc are telling you very valid and very real moral justifications to acknowledge that a tv adaptation relies on the context of ethnic cleansing from a known Zionist, listen to them. I love Joel Miller, I do, but sitting here and pretending not to connect the dots when we’re watching him being played by a man of color who’s tortured to death by a character intended to be seen as a white savior followed by most poc right after is just insane. People are actually dying, the administration is stripping people’s first amendment rights and testing the constitutional limits of revoking citizenship to people who criticize the ethnostate of Isr@h3ll, and they’ve already done that by making an example out of Mahmoud Khalil and sending him to a detention center in Louisiana knowing the judge will not rule in his favor, which they did just last week. It’s all going to set off a domino effect that targets anyone this administration wants to harm and disappear, and that is a very real threat people have to go through under an authoritarian government.

I know that at this point it doesn’t matter what I say, how much I educate people or even explain that multiple things can be true simultaneously with all of the nuance. But it won’t matter because people just want their old man on the screen and they’ll block out everything else, and I know people will still miss my point after this and will be more reactionary than anything and that’s fine. Honestly, I’m glad y’all find enjoyment in TLOU, I know I used to, but for many people they can’t, not in this political climate, not anymore, and that’s valid and true too. My frustration with all of this comes from a place of genuine hurt with the reality me and many others live with, and I just wished some of you weren’t so quick to dismiss critiques and shut people out when you take disagreements so damn personally. Whether or not you actually care, just because you don’t understand the implications of media like this doesn’t mean those who do are automatically wrong or are purposefully trying to ruin something for others.

I can’t believe a boyfriend made a silly sex joke to lighten the mood after both partners had a moment of vulnerability. The audacity. The horror. The normalcy! Unbelievable. A very spooky housekeeper

Lucille is a housekeeper at Castle Dimitrescu but she does a little more than just housekeeping. ‘Cleanup duty’ is what she calls it.

The cleanup duty in question:

She probably dismembers victims she’s dragged into the basement to be made into meals for the Dimitrescu’s because she just enjoys it— quiet time !!😌. She also likes to get some of the maids killed and used for experiments, just because it’s entertaining to her; she’s silly like that.

Real talk, though: Lucille is cold, cruel, and very manipulative; she lacks any sort of empathy and compassion for others and she uses them for her own personal gain/enjoyment. Just quirky !!

Side note; she has a gun because she uses it more in her original lore/my story, but I also imagine she shoots the samcǎ down from the rooftops when they’re just being annoying lol (cause they piss me tf off in the game). She’s a good markswoman, but in the re universe, she likes to use an axe (cause I think that would be neat and I wanna draw that)

Also I have to include this somewhere—it’s my civil duty as a Puzzle enjoyer. Behold the really poorly rushed Procreate photo mashup edits of Puzzles that I snuck into animation as a fun goofy Easteregg detail lol. Same thing with the SMG3 plushie in the corner—although he was included solely because I noticed other people had him in their MAP parts. So I wanted to keep a little continuity going to connect all parts together. We love sillies here <3

I’m prone to rolling my eyes at a “church bad actually” storyline in games, not because that can’t be a good story or anything but because often that’s just it. The church is nebulously evil with a few Big Atrocities to point at so the player knows it. Thats fine and all, but it’s often not that interesting to me

Metaphor Refantazio has me invested though, because while it is a Church Evil story in part and BOY are they not shy about doing atrocities, it takes the time to show the more mundane, realistic ways that organized religion can take advantage of people and become rotted from corruption. The subtle ways it speaks about the people it’s conquered to lay claim to all that they have and state that those things in fact ALWAYS belonged to the church

A big part of the narrative is about the logistics of governance, both good and bad, and that comes through in most aspects of the story, the church storyline included

It’s not groundbreaking or anything like that, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised a few times now where things play out slightly to the left of what I’d expect
