watching female muslim athletes competing in black wrist to ankle and head coverings in 30C (86F) high humidity french heat when even athletes wearing barely anything have been passing out and throwing up :(

#couldn't they at least be in something cooling and reflective like white??#most heat is lost through the head and they often have TWO coverings on the head to ensure it all stays in place #poor things must be boiling #for people who say 'well they're from the middle east and north africa they're used to higher heat'#humid heat is a different beast #bodily tolerance for heat goes way down #because you can't sweat properly

#hexatxt #do you imagine the puppets to dispense steam like that..#i do think of the puppets as having an organic external layer (which is how they can look soft and squishy to an extent)#with how ive designed nsh he basically has a terrible fucking face cuz that jaw emits steam and lets out internal heat and w/e #but they still have obvious primarily metal bits . some of em just have more of that stuff ig #(i do believe the puppets themselves need cooling but its more akin to how a persons body sweats to maintain a proper temperature)#his ''mouth'' is his biggest heat exit on the puppet . its fucked and unbalanced LOL #it fuckign drips water way too much . thats why the scarf is important and isnt just an accessory here..#two reasons to cover the ''mouth'' . to not have it dripping out water constantly and to hide it when needed #btw the steam goes crazy if hes feeling or thinking too much . it makes it obvious thru the puppet that something is going on #idk if ive talked abt this design stuff on here before #cs #excuse their outfits i fucking love dressing bitches up .

sneepy cozy time....

#cats #longing to one day hopefully feel sleepy cozy like this again...#There was a pretty cool week here so I thought we had progressed closer to cool fall weather but... NO #..wrong!! It's like 80F in my room right now and was 98F outside yesterday. We get two more 'cooler' days and then #it starts going up again and will be in the high 90s possibly 100 something later this week #in my mind september should be COOOOOLLLL!!!!! or at least STARTING to get there.. Like mid 80s at the highest.#I am going to explode the world with evil wizard powers aaRGHaaHHHHHHHH #OR at least it should get down really low at night. I think thats the main thing is if it's 95 in the day and only 62 for like 3 hours in #the middle of the night then even leaving a fan in windows all night is not enough to fully cool down the house because its just not #enough cold air or cool for long enough. If it were 98 in the day but 15F outside at night then you could probably bring cool air inside al #night and your house would be at a relatively low starting point for the next days heat.#Like for example - in my apartment on a hot and sunny day. Even with every window #closed and blocked off with thick layers of reflective stuff and also not using the stove or doing anything to generate heat - the apartmen #will still go up on average about 6 - 8 degrees in one day. Peaking around 8 - 10pm night time. If I start off with the house cooled down #to 60F. then the highest it would get is 66 - 68 which is tolerable #.But if the lowest I can cool the apartment all night is still only 75F #then it's going to be 81 - 83F by the end of the day. So really it would be bearable (ISH)#for it to be warm as long as it was colder at night.#Though still the IDEAL is to not have to structure my life around envrionmental management and constantly be checking the #outdoor temperature so I can put the fans in the second that it's colder outside than it is inside and putting elaborate curtain systems #up and down at the exact right times and meal prepping 4 days in advance so I dont have to use the stove for 3 days and blah blah blah #Life in the colder weather months is so effortless and breezy in that sense. I can just have the window open all day and get natural light.#I can cook whatever I want. I can wear what I like. I can move around the house freely without needing to always #carry a fan around with me or douse myself in water.#ANYWAY.... oh if only that were me.... snuggled in a warm blanket ... a comforting wintery image...

Absolutely up to you of course, but I super recommend recovering from surgery in the fall/not the summer. After surgery you can't move a lot to regulate your temperature, and I was so itchy I cried for a long time, really would not recommend adding sweat and heat to that situation! However you do it I'm sure will be great, congrats on getting funded!!:)

I AM DEFINITELY GONNA TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION... I think you're responding to my tags where I mention it but yeah, I was def already thinking about the Sweat Factor!! there's no way that summertime and healing stitches are a good match?

It's wild to me that people keep posting about summer temperatures being dangerous outside of any context

Like. Yes you're right and you should say it, the heat is bad and lots of people are at risk and we should all be aware of the signs of heatstroke or whatever. That's not what I'm talking about.

It's the people posting stuff about how 90° F is or isn't hot / is or isn't dangerous / is or isn't uncomfortable without any mention of humidity or wind or cloud cover.

Guys I was out doing stuff in 113° heat the other day and it was hot, yeah, but there was shade and a light breeze and basically zero humidity and it was fine. I didn't love it, but eh.

Likewise I have gone for walks in full sunlight and 80% humidity when it was 87° out and I wanted to fucking die. It's... kind of an important distinction.

#also like #is this about doing something out in that heat for thirty minutes #or about being out in that heat for four hours #or about being in a relatively cool house but needing to deal with running ac and occasionally going outside #or about being homeless in that heat #I can tell you when I step out in July and it's 117 for one second it actually feels good like you're a loaf of bread in an oven but then #oh then that second is over and it very rapidly becomes a Very Bad Time #also on that note holy shit the difference between 110 and 113 and 116 is massive to me #three degrees jump for each but hoooooooly shit

Little "bouquet" of random flowers I found growing wild in a yard

#flowers #photo diary #I think people are way too mean about ''''weeds'''' and not appreciative of them. Like.. dandelions are super nice looking #and bright and pretty.. forget me nots are so cute and a nice color.. etc. all of these random things that just spring up in the yard #are so neat. and it's evil that people tear them up and mow them down all the time #I guess maybe I get dandelions because they can kind of take over a space?? MAYBE?? but even then #if I was going to have a yard that is just a giant empty plot of blank grass. I would ratherit have a scattering of dandelions than #just like....... nothingness.#Also super cool that this person I know has columbines growing wildly in the yard. They hate them and pull them up #since they've kind of ''taken over'' a patch of grass near a bench they use #but they're soooo cool... Though they only have the single color ones just purple. My favorite columbines are the ones that are two colors #and almost look like two flowers in one or something.#There's a hill near a road around here where poppies seem to be growing wild.. ough... I wish I could go and take some or something #I've tried to transplant forget me nots everytime I'm in some realitive or friend's yard who has them and I ask to dig a few up but #I think theyre just not the type of flower that really grows long term on a deck lol.. but I wish they were... I just really like the blue #color. THOUGH this year in someone else's yard I found a very cool flower just randomly growing wildly that I had never seen #before. It's called Bethlehem Lungwort and it has spotted leaves and multi colored flowers and it looked like a flower out of a cartoon #at first. Since it was randomly growing wild in a yard the person let me dig one of them upand its' still aliveon my deck actualy #It's not blooming flowers anymore but the leaves are still prospering fine. Though it seems to really dislike the super hot sun #and will wilt in this heat wave if I'm not watering it at least once every other day lol.. anyway
