IMPORTANT EDIT MAY 18 2024
A lot about this has changed since I originally wrote this up, especially around act 3 since while right now itâs still up in the air between a few different ideas, the act 3 in this post is cringe-tier and Iâm embarrassed for having wrote it. Another significant enough change to mention here is that old Agent 3 and Agent 8 now join Off the Hook as antagonists, and recruiting âenemyâ Octolings is now a core mechanic that the story anchors around more heavily. Also, Cy actually looks good now.
Iâll do a revised writeup of this at some point, but for now, take most of this with a grain of salt! A lot has changed. Now, flashback to about a year ago!
Soooo... Iâve been dead for a while and thatâs because Iâve been fixated entirely on Splatoon 3 basically since it launched and all this time Iâve been working on an AU/HC/Fanfic/Something Like That called Culture Shock.
Given this has been something Iâve been working on for a LONG time, and given itâs entirely tied to Octarians, I figure I might as well make a big post about it before Side Order totally invalidates it! (Though Iâll keep working on this as an AU even if I donât like how it interacts with Side Order.)
Details and more art under the break! (Though the quality will vary greatly as, again, Iâve been doing stuff with this since Splatoon 3 came out.) This is an extremely long story concept and if you read the whole thing I officially owe you my soul
There's a LOT to this (as there is with any hyperfixation concept like this) but I'll try to keep it somewhat light on details. Of course, itâs subject to change, and the exact plot progression is still kind of in the air. A big part is whether the climax of Act II should actually happen at the end of Act I... But hereâs what Iâve developed so far.
The Story
Prologue
Culture Shock is designed as a DLC story mode set a year after the end of Splatoon 3's main story. The Squid Sisters have disappeared at some point in that time (a familiar situation), and ol' Cuttlefish has called in all of the agents-- plus Pearl and Marina-- to join forces against the Octarians that are undoubtedly behind it. Rather than going into stages alone, the levels are designed for you to do them with CPU teammates.
It's pretty quickly made certain that Octarians were involved, and thus the group is airlifted by Off the Hook into Octo Valley to find Callie and Marie. Upon landing, the player is ambushed by a group of Octolings -- that is, until one member in the backline pulls down her mask and excitedly calls out. Itâs Callie? And though she doesnât immediately unmask, Marie is definitely next to her.
After some confusion and accusations from both sides, the Squid Sisters assure the Squidbeak Splatoon that theyâre not brainwashed, and offer to explain everything. Though Marie warns that itâs a long story, so the group settle down by olâ Cuttlefishâs shack for a massive flashback played from the perspective of the Squid Sisters.
(Gameplay-wise, this whole setup is to allow the player to interrupt the Squid Sistersâ sequence at any time, and then pick up where they left off. It being a flashback also means itâs easy to replay missions or go for 100% by just asking Callie to repeat something.)
Funny title card, and the real story officially starts. Iâm gonna skip through things a lot more, since at this pace it would take WAY too long to summarize every little scene and there are a lot of things not really settled on. Iâll be keeping detail for the introduction, as well as some key scenes, but for any less important/in-between type stuff, Iâll be summarizing what happens. Even doing this it will be extremely long, though Act I is far bigger than Acts II and III because itâs primarily setting up the world and motivations.
Act I
Introductory cutscene, in which the Squid Sisters find themselves stuck in purple ink, locked in an Octarian vault. The Octarians who squidnapped them keep their distance, though one particular Octoling does try to chat (to the annoyance of the others).
She claims that the Octarians will let them go in time, and that they wonât be hurt - though the Squid Sisters are suspicious at best. And, after noticing their discomfort in the Octarian ink, she offers them her Octoshot to paint the ground their own color. As the Octoling goes back to standing guard, Callie inks the floor and the two slump over, one of them idly singing the Calamari Inkantation under her breath.
Fade to when the Octoling swaps guard duty with another Octoling, who leans up against the wall and, after the first Octoling leaves, promptly falls asleep. Callie realizes she still has the Octoshot from before, and suggests slipping through the keyhole in squid form. With help from Marie, sheâs able to get out on her own, and sets out to find the key to the vault. (This serves as a tutorial for stealth missions - though the guard will not wake up even if you fail.)
After freeing Marie, the two of them head towards the door, whispering about how crazy it was that the guard slept through all of that. The guard then dully tells them that he wasnât asleep. The Squid Sisters prepare for a fight, but the guard barely has his eyes open and has not moved. After some back and forth with Callie, this Wendyâs employee of an Octoling just assures them that if he could beat them, it wouldnât have even gotten to this point, and tells them to do whatever they want - just warning them that the other Octarians wouldnât be so lenient.
An Octoling watches them come out, but just looks around frantically before running up to meet them. Marie declares that theyâre breaking out, and prepares for a fight... but the Octoling starts freaking out instead, first worrying that theyâll get hurt trying to escape, and then worrying about what the rest of the Octarians are going to do with the Squid Sisters gone.
Before either Inkling can interject, a much more stern Octoling calls out while angrily marching up to the group. Through this conversation the Squid Sisters learn that the worried Octoling is named Aris, the tired Octoling is named Oregil, and this new more angry Octoling is named Cy. What originally seemed to be a jailbreak quickly turns into some (rather silly) negotiations with Cy, the Squid Sisters trying to convince her that Aris didnât do anything wrong, and that Oregil totally did all he could to stop them.
Though Cy clearly doesnât buy it, she lets it go, returning Arisâs Octoshot but also warning the Squid Sisters that their squadronâs mission is of utmost importance, and if the rest of them wonât do their jobs properly, she will. That said, the two of them just broke out of the only vault they had. So now, the Squid Sisters have to just stay in camp under Cyâs supervision.
With no more weapon to brandish and a clearly blown cover, the two of them kind of have no choice but to agree. Though Marie alludes to how dysfunctional this squad appears to be, and how easy it will probably be to escape.
Though before the conversation ends, Aris asks if âTetraâ will be okay with this. Thereâs a sort of tension in the air immediately upon mention of the name, immediately pierced by an intimidating voice asking what was going on. This was an Elite Octoling, apparently Tetra. After a recap from Cy, Tetra turns to the surrounded Squid Sisters, and tells them in no uncertain terms to always remember that they are prisoners - they are not one of them.
From here on out, the rest of Act I is a sort of slow burn. At the start, itâs purely the Squid Sisters looking for ways to escape. But as time goes on, they learn more about these Octarians by sort of living their life, and through learning about the octo squad themselves.
Aris is kind, possibly to a fault. While sheâs committed to the squadron and their goals, sheâs also the most both-sides-ist of the bunch. She wants to think that everyone is trying their best, and does everything she can to avoid conflict, but as a result she doesnât speak up as much when the Squid Sisters make faulty assumptions about them, and she uninentionally hinders their growth at the start by letting them hide behind her leniency. Over the course of Act I, she eventually has to realize she canât just hold everyoneâs opinion equally - the Squid Sisters are making judgements off of bad information, and she realizes that her enabling that is making it harder for everyone.
Cy is the opposite. Cy is deeply passionate about their situation, and takes any opportunity to show the Squid Sisters what they get wrong. She especially butts heads with Marie, having little patience for the various non-solutions to their problems, or for the ignorance about Octarian culture. Sheâs extremely well connected among Octarians, even having worked with Octavio himself, although she doesnât seem thrilled about it. Thus, despite coming across as very headstrong and aggressive, she also is the source of a lot of information about Octarian life.
Oregil is a self-proclaimed realist - in actuality, a doomer. He doesnât say much, but what he does say is not particularly hopeful. When put in charge of something, he doesnât tend to have a lot of energy behind it, as heâs become convinced that, in the end, Octarians cannot be saved. That said, it would be wrong to call him fully complacent. He still sticks with the team, even if he doesnât have much energy to contribute, and would rather go down with his sinking ship than abandon his friends and family. Though he always seems to be napping on the job, he never actually does, though not for lack of trying. He has insomnia, and itâs rare to find him asleep at all even when laying in bed.
The Elite Octoling Tetra rarely shows herself. The only things the Squid Sisters have seen of her is that sheâs intimidating, and not to be reckoned with. But the way the others talk about her and interact with her betray a different story. Oregil is flippant about her commands and doesnât actually give anything his all. Cy goes along with Tetraâs commands, but seemingly only due to her own reasons aligning with Tetraâs rather than out of any respect for her authority. Aris obeys, but the way she acts and talks about it makes it almost feel like sheâs obeying out of pity.
Lastly, there is also a fifth mysterious Octoling that the Squid Sisters will occasionally grab a passing glimpse of. They donât know who this Octoling is, and whenever sheâs mentioned, the others assure them that âsheâs nobodyâ.
As the act goes on, Callie especially pries deeply into the hows and whys of a lot of Octo stuff. She had been in Octarian territory before in Splatoon 2, sure, but she was being brainwashed by DJ Octavio himself and held up as a superstar. This time, she was fully aware of herself, and living the life of the average Octoling soldier in the time between Octavioâs Zapfish heists.
The two of them wonder why the sun hasnât come up, and learn that without the Great Zapfish, the kettleâs âsunâ cannot shine. Itâs a land of eternal night. The Octolings seem to live on a diet of mostly power eggs and salmon, which they learn is because without light, most crops donât grow. Many little things like this illustrating just how resource-starved this nation is.
There are a lot of assumptions made and corrected. A lot of complaints put into perspective when the things they find uncomfortable or annoying are things these Octarians have had to deal with every day. But one of the biggest things is their ideas of resolution. An early question being, âWhy donât you just leave? Inkopolis is a stoneâs throw away.â
There are a lot of answers that are given to this, but to some effect, they all boil down to âcultureâ. Inkopolis isnât the same as Octaria. It has different people, different history, different fashion, different food, different expectations... itâs just a totally different place.
Oregilâs lived in Octarian society his whole life - itâs his home. Cy is an artist, she makes distinctly Octarian music and sees firsthand how it connects those in Octarian communities. Aris knows Octolings are âacceptedâ, but only insofaras they appeal to Inkling expectations. Itâs hard to express their culture without being seen as weird or other. Even little things like how they look - Octolings in Inkopolis tending to make their hair slimmer, straighter, adding patterns and minimizing the amount of visible suckers. Plus, how many non-Octoling Octarians do you see in Inkopolis and beyond? Maybe an Octoling can fit in, but what about an Octotrooper?
The most impactful realization for the Squid Sisters as well, is just how few Octarians are even there anymore. Between the exodus in Octo Valley, the bigger exodus in Octo Canyon, the horrors of Octo Expansion, and just recently the similar horrors of Alterna... all stacked on top of the nation itself being less and less hospitable year by year? Since the events of Splatoon 1, so many Octarians have been lost. Within the squad theyâre in, pictures and murmurings from the rest of them tell the stories of at least four other Octolings that were previously in their squadron.
So then the other aspect of the Squid Sistersâ arc is... if they donât think Octarians should be stealing the Great Zapfish or dealing with Salmonids or anything like that... what should they be doing?
Because so far, nothing has worked for them. Negotiations fail, because Inklings donât know enough about Octarian society to understand why they need so much support. They donât know enough about the history of Inklings and Octolings to realize that Inkadia is largely the reason theyâre suffering. The average Inkling doesnât know enough to realize thereâs a problem, and the average Octarian doesnât have a loud enough voice.
All this compounded onto the fact that now, the only Octolings Inkadia sees are the ones who decided that Octarians were oppressing themselves, to the point where they abandoned everything they knew to live in the nation that started this in the first place.
Though, itâs hard to blame them when life in Octaria is practically nonexistent. Losing so many people, living in such horrible conditions, led by an egomaniac whose awareness of his people is performative at best... but most Octolings canât let that take away from who they are as a people. They donât let it tear their communities apart, or sever the bonds they have with people. Their lived experiences show them that itâs worth fighting for. Well... except in one scenario weâll get into later.
The final important thing that comes to light over this period... This whole time Octavio has barely come up, because he doesnât even know the Squid Sisters are there. The squadron are a real squadron in the Octarian army, but this whole mysterious operation involving the Squid Sisters is entirely outside Octavioâs control. In fact, it becomes apparent that the Octarians at least in this squadron or associated with this squadron, hate Octavio and everything heâs been doing to their society as a whole.
Theyâve always seen the Zapfish heists as a horrible, horrible ego trip. An extremely hollow, expensive move that only plants targets on the backs of Octarians. But even in feeling that way, Aris and Oregil both admit that there isnât much else offering them hope. If not for Octavio stealing the Zapfish for those couple days of âsunâlight, what would they be doing? Though Cy has a much more strong opinion there, asserting that doing nothing would have put those resources into survival rather than gambling it all on a foolâs errand.
Needless to say, the Squid Sisters get a bit wrapped up in this stuff. Talking to these Octolings, learning about their life, living it, offering to help (gameplay sections), and all around having a lot of beliefs challenged. Itâs a lot of stuff that they are only able to wrap their mind around from actually knowing what itâs like to live through it, without the option to just leave when it gets too rough.
While at the beginning they were just looking for an opening to escape, by the halfway point they arenât even really being watched anymore, let alone trying to break out. Tetra may call them prisoners, but by that point theyâve had so many opportunities to just walk away. The only thing keeping them there is the fact that if they leave, what will happen? And can they confidently say that itâs the Octariansâ fault for it happening?
By the end, their primary objective is to find something they can do to actually give them a shot. And for that... theyâll need more than just the two of them. The idea of bringing in the Squidbeak Splatoon is immediately dismissed as insane by Cy - especially the idea of bringing in THE Agent 3. But after a little while, with Oregil indifferent as always and Aris on board, she comes around, though warning that Tetra will not like it, and they could be accidentally luring Agent 3 into a death trap. But itâs a risk they decide to let the Captain decide for themself.
Act II
Acts II and III are far less elaborate, because this is after all the characters have been established, and the world has been largely explored.
Act II kicks off with there being a lot of reactions. (As a note, the Octolings with the Squid Sisters at the present time are Oregil, Aris, and Cy. In their own ways, theyâre uncomfortable in the presence of Captain 3. Cy and Oregil also seem to have an attitude with how they look at Marina.) A lot of disbelief, but also, to some degree, understanding. Naturally, Captain 3 is skeptical, taking a moment to contemplate what theyâre being asked to do.
But around this time, Marina cuts in, asserting that regardless of the cause, Octarian society is inherently a problem. Thatâs why she left. She accuses the squadron of perpetuating DJ Octavioâs oppressive rule, and that they could have their cake and eat it too just by moving to Inkopolis.
The group go back and forth, with escalating emotions and accusations, until Pearl declares that, whatever theyâre plotting, Off the Hook and the Squidbeak Splatoon will put a stop to it. Silence falls over the group, until Marie retaliates saying that she doesnât think she can in good conscience fight against people who are only trying to exist.
The other agents start taking the Octariansâ side, even Agent 8 who, despite hesitating given their trust in Off the Hook, still resonates too strongly with the plight of the Octarians to turn their back on them fully. Pearl is taken aback, but after a glance at a very betrayed Marina, declares the Squidbeak Splatoon their enemy too, Marina locking eyes with Agent 8 before Off the Hook take their leave.
Cy remarks that itâs a shame, but she understands exactly why Marina is acting this way. Callie asks why, but Cy just assures her that Marina isnât stupid, so if everything goes right, sheâll come around. Aris tells the player where the kettleâs entrance is, and at their leisure, they can join the Octarians there.
Upon entering the kettle as the player Cy assumes you know how things work, and there are a few filler travel stages to break the story up a little, before eventually the group return to see Tetra emerge for the first time, locking eyes with Captain 3, removing her goggles for the first time, and immediately going on the attack. Captain 3 drops their weapon and holds up their hands, but Tetra still rushes them down, holding both Dark Tetra Dualies up to their face.
After a long moment of them staring each other down, Tetra narrows her eyes, throws her arms down in a burst of anger, and leaves without saying anything else. After a few sighs of relief across the group, the tone lightens up, and Cy guesses that Tetra wonât be bothering them - which is a relief.
The bulk of Act II itself is actually fairly underdeveloped story-wise and is a lot more gameplay focused. It reinforces a lot of the character stuff from Act I, but a big ongoing theme is repeatedly clashing with Off the Hook in various places, and getting more glimpses of the strange fifth Octoling and getting more hints as to what it really is that the squadron is planning, and why theyâve kept it hidden.
While their convictions are still the same, there is a growing level of uncertainty among the group as they feel less okay with being kept in the dark. Eventually, the Squid Sisters, Cap 3, and Agent 8 catch a glimpse of the mystery Octoling leaving, and watch them enter a building off the edge of the camp alongside the other Octolings. The Squid Sisters take the opportunity to snoop around the building, which appears to be a laboratory of some sort.
As the group search deeper within for answers, strange, distorted music can be heard - with oddly familiar vocals. It turns into a full stealth mission, until eventually towards the end youâre spotted and confronted by all four of the squadron members. Tetra warns that they were not supposed to come here, Cy is quiet for once, Aris is quiet as usual, and Oregil... actually looks motivated to stop you.
Of course this is a video game and you win that horrible 4v4, breaking through into the room ahead to find that fifth Octoling in a room full of synthesizers, speakers and computers. She calls for Cy, before turning around and realizing who it actually is.
Marie asks the obvious question, of what the hell this is, and the fifth Octoling who introduces herself as Sock, answers that this is a studio, actually. Well, a lab and a studio. Maybe it should be called a studyo. Weirdly lighthearted for what the group was expecting.
Cy, having respawned and entered behind them, is audibly defeated as she guesses an explanation canât be avoided.
The studio was used over this entire period to study the effects of a song whose influence is as potent as it is destructive... the Calamari Inkantation. Itâs the song that spawned not one, but two mass exoduses. It has an undeniable impact on the cephaling psyche. And, as they know, itâs one of the most important songs to not only the Squid Sisters, but Inkadia as a whole.
The fact that the Inkantation can grab the mind so easily when it isnât being actively fought, and cause such extremely psychological changes... it was, and still is, one of the biggest problems Octaria has had to deal with. And up until recently, there was little you could do about the Inkantation besides actively study its influence.
What they found, was that it was able to simply cloud out your own lived experience. It would walk you down mental shortcuts, take advantage of the simplicity of certain ideas, and corrupt experiences that contradicted it. Causing Octolings to simply leave their struggling communities, their memories twisted with the idea that theyâve somehow invented their own struggle, corrupted only to enable the Octoling to gravitate towards assimilation without dissonance.
The only Octolings welcome in Inkadia are those who have listened to and internalized the Inkantation... those who, consciously or not, allow it to twist their memories and reshape who they are as people.
Itâs a lot. Some Octolings are more resistant than others, and some, like Sock here, have managed to reverse engineer it and escape that way. Sock, an Octoling raised in Inkopolis, raised with the Inkantation, and only later exposed to its flaws - without memories of Octaria to have been twisted by it, she was only able to create new ones, to learn from those who live Octaria every day, rather than being stuck behind a layer of cognitive dissonance.
Of course, other Octolings simply could not leave. The new experiences formed after the Inkantation constantly falsify the old, corrupted memories, and reinforce the reality. But many Octolings, upon being swayed by the Inkantation, simply left and assimilated into Inkling societies.
The idea that the Inkantation is not only not good, but actively a corrupting force, was not something Cy nor any of the squadron were confident the Squid Sisters or anyone else exposed to the Inkantation would be able to process. And without that, how else would they understand the importance of their mission - to reverse the effects of the Inkantation using the strange, distorted song the group have been hearing.
Taking a lot of voice samples from the Squid Sisters was the only way they would be able to relpicate the sound that originally entranced those under the Inkantationâs effects. Thatâs why they needed to go for broke and resort to squidnapping. The Inkantation being a strong corrupting force meant that it was unpredictable how they would react to learning the truth behind the song, while still at least partially under the effects of it.
And thatâs also why Cy said of Marina that she understands why sheâs so hostile - Marina is one of the most deeply Inkantationed Octolings.
A lot of the breakdowns of how the Inkantation affects Octolings also resonates extremely strongly with Agent 8 - who, despite how prominent and overpowering the Inkantation was, was still able to hold onto friendly feelings around Octarians, and frustrations around their place in Inkling society. So many weird, dissonant feelings, are starting to make sense. But also, a lot of really awful feelings are starting to surface as well - traumatic feelings, now that theyâre starting to think back on their life, and counterbalancing that to the horrors they witnessed in the Deepsea Metro. Horrifying, but... real. So, so, horribly real.
This is their last shot. If they can reverse the Inkantation across Inkopolis... who knows what it would achieve. But the plan, at the very least, is unity and community. Cy admits that in all likelihood, most Octolings will stay in Inkopolis even after the Inkantation is cleared. Thatâs their home now - they have new friends, new commitments, a new life... and thereâs not much of a home to return to in Octaria.
But, maybe, some Octolings come to visit. Maybe some Octolings come back. Maybe those that donât, can at least use their new life in Inkopolis to raise the voices of those suffering back home, and create a real partnership - no egotistical DJ required. And not just turning Octolings into Inklings with funny hair.
Act III
Well, once this whole reveal happens, there is a lot of internal conflict, but on the face of it, thereâs really nothing to argue. Thereâs the disgust and to a degree personal insult felt at the idea that this song that was so important to them, that became a cornerstone of Inkadia, was harmful. That they the Squid Sisters enacted that harm onto tens of thousands of Octolings.
But itâs all there. Their minds want to deny it, but thereâs nothing to stand on.
At the very least, they have a rare opportunity to set things almost entirely right. And so, they take it.
The plan is simple: Do what the Inkantation did. Blast the song out to as many Octolings as possible, and then... maybe overthrow Octavio for fun just as a bonus lol
The Squid Sisters are already popstars - they can just take the song into the Inkopolis News Station, perform it live, and get it playing all over, such is how Inkopolis is with its new music. Or well, thatâs how it COULD work... if there wasnât a sudden âNEVER GONNA HAPPENâ and muffled âPearl--!!â coming from Agent 8âČs earpiece, that they forgot to take out.
So... the easy walk-in walk-out strategy just turned into a big climactic final battle for the station. The specifics of which........ are still being ironed out, sORRY!
But generally, Pearl and Marina get backup in on the situation, and itâs a lot of small missions in one building, split across multiple teams, some stealth, some just battle, some objectives, and the final battle being a survival section over the Squid Sisters performing the song (playing as the squid sisters is cool but its not quite a Splatoon Final Boss if the Squid Sisters arenât singing some variant of the Calamari Inkantation over it except that one time) including Pearl and Marina themselves getting in on the battle.
Iâm not musical enough to think of how this would work, but it would be kinda crazy for it to sort of be objective-based by whether the Squid Sistersâ reverse-Inkantation or perhaps even Off the Hook singing the normal Inkantation is playing for more time - like a dueling song of some sort
After itâs over and you win, thereâs this sort of both relief and confusion since it feels like not much happened - but it affects Marina. Like, god, does it affect Marina after everything that happened to her after the Inkantation. A lot of what she knew, the people she was close to, her life in general, all just flooding back. Suddenly realizing that these were not shadowy monsters that were out to get her, they werenât evil clones trying to destroy the world. They were people she knew, old friends, family even, that were just trying to get by as best they could without leaving their friends and family in the dust. And then she let herself be swayed by a song, and then suddenly... how could she have just left them like that? What did she do to them? What did she do to herself?
But cutting through it all is Pearlâs voice, asking if sheâs okay. Despite what she was worried about... itâs still Pearl. It didnât make her hate Pearl or not recognize Pearl or change anything about how she felt about Pearl. It just, cleared the fog around the other people she cared about, that she had been convinced she didnât.
So.... yeah!! Once all is said and done, Marina assures Pearl that sheâs still her, that all these fears she had, didnât happen. Plus, some minor panic over how close she got to keeping these thoughts down forever. But she didnât, and now that itâs all over, she can let it out to Pearl and the rest of them.
Epologue
Other Octolings throughout Inkopolis start feeling similar things, though minus the Deepsea Metro trauma, and as anticipated, some of them do return. Some come back temporarily, some just have a lot to think about. Many who come back in some form or another will also sadly realize how close Octaria is to just crumbling to the ground. But over the following days, weeks, months, and years, both Octolings and Inklings work together to both raise awareness and to help reconstruction efforts.
Itâs the start of a much, much, much larger social shift - that kind of also passively involves removing Octavio from power, but thatâs easy enough at this point. And of course, Pearl and Marina come up with some shenanigans to get the squadron and the Squid Sisters... off the hook.
And thatâs Culture Shock, the entire story exists for that one throwaway pun at the end thank you for listening youâve been a great audience and even if this FINDS its target audience NOBODY will be able to read this before the direct that will inevitably have Side Order content which means NOBODY except ME will have the knowledge of this before their expectations are shfited by the existence of Side Order
Okay but seriously if you somehow finished all of this like, DM me on Discord @aviivix or something because we will become best friends
Also... if you can believe it... this is like maybe HALF of like all the story stuff Iâve got in Culture Shock - each member of the Octo Squad has an arc (especially Tetra she has the biggest arc but I barely mention Tetra here) and thereâs big ass history with the dead Octos and a lot of specifics I didnât touch... if you ask me about any of it I will be your best friend no questions asked.

Okay, I just finished watching Sex Education, and I will be honest, I was very⊠underwhelmed.
I know this show means a lot to a lot of people, and I can see why, and I liked parts of it, but to me it started out very strong and ended so disappointingly.
I was captivated by the struggles of some of the characters, by how their stories were weaved into one another, but thatâs easier to do when you have a handful of characters. By season 3, there were so many characters, and the creators seemingly insisted on developing each individual storyline as profoundly as possible, but that just resulted in stories being presented and resolved in a rush, sometimes inexplicably, and it all felt just very clunky. I tried to suspend my disbelief of how time passed in this universe, how one storyline seems to be moving slower than another in the span of the same day, but it became so glaringly obvious that it came down to shoddy editing, and too many loose ends to trie to tie up.
By season 4, I didnât have enough time to connect with anyone new, didnât feel like any of the new characters was actually given enough time and space to unfold properly. It was just jam-packed with tropes and themes and difficult topics that deserved much better development. Like Calâs dysphoria, or Vivâs abusive relationship, or Isaacâs and Aishaâs disabilities, or Oâs asexuality, or even Jean and Joannaâs difficult relationship and Jeanâs postpartum depression (in fact, I feel like Jean really got done dirty this season, because she was an interesting character the whole way, and she went through a lot, she almost died, sheâs going through massive heartbreak, and those things are never addressed again except that one little moment, and Otis is THE ABSOLUTE WORST to her in this seasonâŠ)
And that did not happen, of course, to the characters from the first two seasons, they got to be fully developed and nuanced and you get to examine their whole stories and they make sense. You get to see Aimee deal and come to terms and put behind her the sexual assault, you get to see Maeve get out and then have massive doubts about her talent and see her dreams interrupted once more by her motherâs overdose and her brother going down the same path; you get to see Eric come fully into his own skin with his sexuality and struggle with the fact that he might have to choose between that and his community; you get to see Adam go from bully to realizing his sexuality to realizing what has made him into a bully to trying to change and be honest to himself and others; you get to see why Ruby is the way she is but also that itâs all just a front and why itâs hard for her to not put up walls.
It felt like, by season 3, the creators were just ticking boxes: non-binary character, check; trans characters, check; characters with disabilities, check; boy with two mums inexplicably wanting to find their biological father, check⊠It felt a little like (and I swear this comparison hurts me the most) watching Glee.
(Remember Glee? Most people would say âwell Glee walked so that Sex Education and Heartstopper and Young Royals, etc could runâ⊠No, unfortunately it feels more like Glee took two steps and then stumbled horrible so that these other shows could run. And sadly, in my opinion, Sex Education didnât fair much betterâŠ).
It made me sad to learn about how LGBTQIA+ activist and ace representative Yasmin Benoit collaborated with the Sex Education creators to create a character that was a well-rounded representation of the asexual community, but in the end they turned her into the seasonâs villain and for no good reason. I understand peopleâs frustration with that, especially Yasminâs, because it felt like it could have been handled much better. And as an acespec person myself I would have been more upset about this too, were it not for the fact that everything else was so bad in comparison that O being turned into a villain felt like the least of this seasonâs problems.
Something else that bothered me was that, whilst Sex Education is a satire and a lot of the characters are caricatures (like Ruby being the popular glamorous bitch with her two cronies who do everything she says, and Aimee is the bimbo with the heart of gold, and Mr Groff is the stuffy narrow-minded professor, and Lily is the unashamed weird girl, etc), there is a fine line between caricature and cartoon, and some of the characters went too far. Like Hope in season 3 was too much of a cartoon villain, and Molloy being the admirable but former literature sensation who is brutally harsh with his students; and Beau going from flirty to abusive in .5 seconds; and Joanna being the over-the-top disaster person. There is no further substance to these people, they are just there to fulfill a role as a foe to one of the main characters, but the lack of realism makes them very underwhelming, and all the plots associated with them become predictable and boringâŠ
And this might be a very unpopular opinion but⊠at first the whole Otis and Maeve thing, although clichĂ©d, seemed like a nice idea, but the more time passed, and especially with the way that Otis became in the last season, by the end of it I really didnât like it at all. It felt like Maeve deserved a lot better.
Otis was a somewhat interesting character in the beginning, and I could sympathize with him for all his flaws and the way that he tried to help people but ultimately couldnât deal with his own shit. But it was so frustrating to see him making the same mistakes over and over, to the point where it affected his relationship with everyone important, from his mum to his best friend to his girlfriend.
Not that the show had to be perfect. No show is perfect, but it truly felt like the creators had a really good idea but didnât figure out how to wrap it up, and promptly cornered themselves and then were fighting their way out of that cornerâŠ
My favorite things about the show, though, were:
-Anything with Eric (except maybe that whole thing about him and his bully becoming a thing, because that was disturbing, but I really really liked when Otis brought this up, and I really really hated when Eric got defensive about it, and I also reaaaaally hated when Eric got mad at Adam for not wanting to have anal sex, like he didnât even want to talk about it, youâre better than that, Eric Effiong).
-Despite this, Adam and Eric not having a happy ending together was a breath of fresh air, because as much as they were cute together (I just reaaaaally wish Adam hadnât been the former bully) they werenât right for each other.
-Aimeeâs whole journey from being with Adam to being with Steve, to ditching the Untouchables for a meaningful friendship with Maeve, to exploring what she wanted to do, to coming to terms with her assault, to discovering art as a way to express herself. She really is one of my favorite characters.
-Colin and Ms Sands were my absolute favorites too, and them coming back for one episode, and Colin playing With Or Without You at the funeral. And Ms Sands always wanting Maeve to fulfill her potential, and trying to help Adam and even coming to see him in the dog show.
-Any moment when Eric is just fabulous, especially wearing that kilt at the queer night club. Ncuti Gatwa is truly one of the most beautiful men in this world, and he just canât help but sparkle. He is the sparkly one.
-And as I said before, Adamâs poem to Eric, absolutely broke my heart.
-I loved the set design and costume design on the show, it was so unexpected for everything to feel so old-fashioned, and I wonder if thereâs a meaning to that. Also, Jean and Otisâs house is my absolute dream house. I do wonder however what happened to all the penis and vagina decoration.
-I really liked the variety of characters and how we got a diversity of storylines and tackled a lot of important topics, but I just wished they had done a better job at it.
Thatâs about it. This turned out way longer than I expected. But Iâd been putting off watching this show for so long, despite how relevant it became, and was really disappointed that I didnât like it as much, so I had to vent.

Change // Mikey x Fem reader // Chapter 2
Summary: Y/n was returning from London to see her older twin, Takemichi. What she didn't expect was that when she returned she would find her twin in the hospital with State criticizing him, making him remain in a coma almost on the verge of death and all because of Manjiro was healthy, so he found out, so without further ado, thanks to the fact that he looked enough like Takemichi, he pretended to be him in order to carry out his revenge.
Finish EDIT (february 2, 2024): This story is incomplete.
N/A: I finally publish the second chapter, it took me a lot to write it, between the time and how to do it, but I managed it, I hope you like it. History is just being written, but publications will most likely be periodic. If I see how long it takes I'll let you know. This prologue is corrected and translated, although if you see any errors I would appreciate it if you let me know (I must warn that at some point there will be obscene content, but I will let you know beforehand so you can skip it).
Words: 1189
Pairings: Manjiro sano x female!Reader
Warnings: none
ââ¶ââââââąâŁâââșâ»â°â°Û°ââ¶ââââââąâŁâââșâ»â°â°Û°
He looked at them intently as he listened to their words carefully. What they said was hard to believe, but he couldn't help but think about it clearly. The Takemichi they were describing was not the one he knew. He was more reserved, more surly and more isolated. His idea was to let it go but he assumed that they wanted him to help them with the matter.
Mikey frowned. "What should he do?" he asked himself. The last time he saw them, his dark impulsiveness got out of control and that was what caused Takemichi to end up in the hospital, he warned her on the videotape but Takemichi was very stubborn when it came to helping. to others. He knew perfectly well that he was at a crossroads. On the one hand, he wanted to help them. On the other hand, he feared that his dark impulsiveness might cause them harm again.
âMikey... we owe him. "He's helped us so many times that I've lost count," said Draken, interrupting Mikey's thoughts. He was happy to see him... at that time I thought he died like everyone else did, but a few days after they entered Takemichi they told us that the information they had they gave us was wrong and the bullet did not pierce him enough to kill him. âAfter all he was right, they couldn't leave it like thisâ he thought.
âWhat's the plan? âHe asked, to which in response he received a smile from ear to ear from Chifuyu and Draken feeling a bittersweet feeling, as if they were going back to the old days.
"You are the plan," Chifuyuu mentioned, making him completely surprised and confused. âWhy don't they remember the last time we got together, they won't even want to see me in paintingâ he thought, believing that his former colleagues went completely crazy.
"Don't worry, everything has its reason, it's going to take time to explain it, let's sit down because this is going to require a detailed explanation," said Chifuyu as they headed towards some sofas and settled down. Then, he began to tell his plan.
"The first thing we have to do is find out what's happening to Takemitchi," said Chifuyu. â He's going to have to earn his trust again and get closer to him, we have to set traps to get him to lower his guard.
âNow we need people, not too many but just enoughâsaid Draken.
"How many?" Mikey asked.
Chifuyu smiled. âThe old Toman, we need the captains and vice-captains, Inui and kokonoi, Taiju and, whether you like it or not, Kakucho. Together with Takemichi's friends, together we can make him fall, Mikey nodded pleased, he had the feeling that something big was coming and he wanted to be part of it.
Draken and Chifuyu set to work to reunite the ancient Toman. They began by contacting the captains and vice-captains, who were willing to help. Then, they contacted Taiju, who also agreed to participate in order to pay his debt to Takemichi and without forgetting Kokonoi and Inui who did not hesitate to accept the proposal along with Senju and his brother.
The next step was to contact Kakucho, this part would be the most difficult due to the rivalry they had in the past but with a few calls and messages they managed to convince him.
Once everyone was together, they managed to form a group of more than 50 people. Now all that was left was to put together the pieces of the plan. Each one of them, although it didn't seem like it, had a great debt with that crying hero and they will not give up until they can help him.

later
She looked at the photos scattered on the wall âthis won't lead anywhere if I can't get close to himâŠâ she sighed tiredly and she felt herself on the edge of the bed when her phone started ringing âyes? âI ask without enthusiasm.
-Where are you? We have looked for you and called you during these weeks! âThe voice on the other end spoke so loudly that Tn had to move it away from her ear.
âI left you a message on my nightstand, I'm in Tokyo.
âThere was no message Tnâ the voice on the other end huffed tiredly as if she were already used to him disappearing like that out of nowhere.
âMaybe I forgot, sorry Luke.
"It's because of that letter, right?" I ask, sure that that was the reason. "How is your brother?" âHe added, receiving a long silence in responseâso the Letter was right... You can't be alone there, Tn, today I'm packing my bags and leaving with you.â
âno need... I just have to make my plan work and finish healthy once I achieve it I will return to you
"You know I'm not going to listen to you," he responded just as I just spoke.
"But what about the others? Who will take care of them?" she asked worriedly.
âYou know that Cynthia will take care of them perfectly for a reason, she is the captain of the first divisionâTn nodded with a slight growl.
-when will you arrive? âI ask now a little worried, she didn't seem that way but she didn't like the feeling of being alone in Tokyo, she missed her best friend Luke and the boys.
âAs soon as possible, I will take the first plane that leavesâTn nodded again this time releasing a light sighâOkay now go to sleep you need to have strength if you want us to finish off ManjiroâLuke had become the brother and father figure that he never had For her, she still remembers the first time she met him perfectly.
Flashback
Those blue eyes and raven hair were what hypnotized her and she knows that better than anyone.
It was her third day in London and she didn't know anyone. What she did know was the feeling of loneliness. She missed her twin brother deeply. They had never been so far apart, but she was 9,553 km away from him. She was supposed to be happy. because they chose her to enter a superstitious school in London, according to them a mind like hers should not be wasted
But she didn't think it was that big of a deal.
She sighed determinedly, right now she was in front of the door of that school, his hand trembled while a thousand not very positive questions came to his mind, he took a step forward to enter with courage and fear at the same time and that was when she asked him. saw; His skin was dark, his eyes were blue like the ocean and his hair was messy, black as coal. His heart began to beat rapidly, making him put his hand on his chest. âAn attack,â he thought. âNo, this is not an attack.â He said mentally, already knowing what they were like.
âHey, are you okay? âhe asked her, she didn't know when he had approached her, that left her in shock and made her jump slightlyâY-yesâshe responded with a slight stutterâthank goodness, I thought I would have to call the ambulance, you stayed still with her hand on her chest for a long time â âthat explains why I didn't realize itâ she thought and gave him a slight smile. âNo need, thanks for the helpâShe thanked him for going willingly to where she thought before everything happened.
âIt's okay, are you new by the way? I'm Luke, you don't look like you're from around here.
And that's how it all started.
End of Flashback

This is under the wire so who knows if it'll make a difference, but briefly, here's my case for why you should vote for Hira and Kiyoi on this one.
This kiss is truly the culmination of both seasons of Utsukushii Kare, on multiple levels. To wit:
It represents Hira making progress toward what Kiyoi calls "looking at [him] straight on"--in other words, treating him like a partner/actual human being rather than idealizing him and putting him up on a pedestal that ends up isolating him. This is the most central arc of the story.
More specifically, it represents Hira initiating intimacy, something that he hasn't been in the habit of doing (both broadly and specifically around physical intimacy). This is a big area of growth for him and a huge component of what needs to change in order to address the issues in his relationship with Kiyoi.
This scene alludes to a whole other part of their relationship story that's in the novels but isn't shown onscreen for the vast majority of the time. I've only read snippets of this novel material but what I've seen bears out what I've heard, that the Nagira Yuu uses her portrayal of Hira's and Kiyoi's sexual relationship to get into some complex aspects of their characters that don't come across anywhere else. This scene is the only place where this other layer of characterization comes through in the series.
It's also remarkable from the perspective of Hagiwara Riku's and Yagi Yusei's performances throughout both seasons of the show. Hagiwara came to the show with a good bit of experience with screen kisses and love scenes, while this was Yagi's first major role in anything. Neither had done this type of scene in a BL context. In season 1, their first kiss (the graduation day scene) fit the long BL tradition of dead fish and/or obscured kisses seemingly intended to allow the actors to avoid anything resembling a real kiss. The ending of the season 1 finale was a lot more realistically demonstrative but the lighting, blocking, and editing choices still made it feel rather avoidant--it was an impressionistic montage that allowed for a lot of the same face-turned-away maneuvering as the first kiss but also included some moments that felt meaningful and real.
Then, for the entirety of season 2 up to the point of this scene, every time the characters might be about to kiss, something happens to interrupt them (another standard BL move). It's only in this scene that Hagiwara and Yagi finally do an uninterrupted, well-lit, longer-take kiss. Personally, despite being a fan of both actors and thinking they did amazing work on the series, until I saw this scene I really didn't know if they had it in them, if they could actually pull off something that felt real. But they brought it. They're not holding back. As opposed to more stylized kisses you see in BLs and other romance dramas sometimes, I found it very naturalistic, like the way a couple of real kids in their early 20s would kiss. (I like a more stylized, romanticized and/or super-suggestive kiss scene as much as the next person but I thought this more authentic-seeming approach made a lot of sense here.)
There's an idea that I haven't exactly formulated my thoughts about yet (maybe I'll start trying to?) and I feel like others have commented on it but the larger significance is often implied rather than stated explicitly. That is, the idea that the way kisses are handled in BLs has real significance in terms of the quality of queer representation and the political impact of BLs. So when I saw Utsukushii Kare take this aspect of the show to the next level I thought there was some additional significance to that choice beyond what it does for the characterization, the narrative, etc.
That's all. If you see this in time, vote Hira x Kiyoi!
Round 3: Hira and Kiyoi Final Kiss (Utsukushii Kare 2) vs Sean and White First Kiss (Not Me: The Series)
[Submitted Reasons Under Cut]
Hira and Kiyoi Final Kiss: "Itâs an important plot point (because Kiyoi has said he wonât kiss Hira until he stops putting him on a pedestal and now Hira is making progress on that front, and because Hira hasnât initiated physical stuff in the past, and initiating is itself a way of treating Kiyoi more like an equal). Itâs also just a really well-acted and effectively shot kiss, and as a result it communicates so much about the characters and shows a side of their relationship not portrayed elsewhere in the show. And of course, itâs super hot. That includes the kind of weird but suggestive details that are typical of the show, like Hira passing candy/candy spit to Kiyoi through the kiss and then switching into this really distinct sexy voice that makes it sound almost as if heâs changing personalities."
Sean and White First Kiss: "âThis is the goal that keeps me alive. And so are youâ like !!!!! Sean showing he trusts White to keep him from falling (issues with physics aside). The passion, the tenderness, the forehead kiss, the hug afterwards, the emotions, all of it is just so good. Off and Gun proving why theyâre one of the best."

could you do an analysis of elliot's dream sequence in 1x4 please? i love reading your thoughts on the show. thx
i sure can try!! this gets lengthy tho so sit back & enjoy while i try my best to write coherent sentences. under the cut we go;
alright so the way iâm going to do this is by dividing the dream sequence into 6 parts, give a quick summary of whatâs going on in each of them, and then add my thoughts; sounds good? here we go:
part 1.
summary: mr robot leads elliot to some drug house, elliot gets injected, thereâs a shootout, both he & the girl are shot, he glances at the tv to see the weather forecast, followed by an fsociety speech, before he closes his eyes. next, heâs standing next to mr robot who hands him the key and the mask, then the program switches to an ecorp commercial.
first and foremost, i want to point out the symbolism when the shooting begins. the girl who had given elliot the shot was kissing him before she was killed and fell dead next to him. so i think the drug-supplier-girl who he hooks up with & she ends up dying is a reference to shayla? (keep in mind this dream happens before her death); just as how him getting shot and falling on the floor could be seen as foreshadowing.
when it comes to the fsociety speech, mr robot delivers a very unique line in my opinion: âif you have any interest in waking from your slumber, in retrieving lost, damaged, or stolen memory, we are here for you.â how i see this particular quote is tied to my overall opinion on elliotâs coping mechanisms. he suffers from DID- so we know for a fact he has lost & damaged memories. but what about those stolen ones? maybe it goes with the package but maybe itâs something weâve yet to find out. waking up from his slumber could just be a reference to this being a dream- or in a sense where elliot needs to step up and discover these things for himself.
the key, as youâll come to realize, is a constant repetition in these scenes. in this first part, mr robot is the one who has it around his neck. once elliot stands next to him, heâs handed the key and the mask. in my head this is a direct symbolism to what we see at the beginning of the show. mr robot introducing elliot to fsociety. so letâs say whoever holds the key, is the one in control of the operation and hold onto that thought for the rest of these, okay?
when elliot asks âwhatâs it open?â mr robot answers with just âit belongs to you nowâ followed by saying the mask was made in orient (meaning east, could even be china. dark army.) and just for his head- which i see as a little âweâre the same personâ detail- but then adds ânow, find your monster, and turn the key.â then the commercial plays. this could be there just to get us to believe e-corp is the monster, turning the key is taking them down. but thatâs far too easy.
part 2.
summary: elliot is walking down a neighborhood until he stops in front of the aldersons house. as he turns to look at it, the house is replaced by a pillar with a note spelling out âerror 404: not foundâ. next shot is of a little girl on a scooter humming a tune then stopping to look at elliot. they chat a bit, then she picks up the key and hands it to him. once the keyâs with him again, he hums along and approaches the house.
the first thing we see, aside from the copy-paste houses, is the mailbox which has the number 404 written on it above the name âthe aldersonsâ so we know that once he turns to look at the house, itâs supposed to be his childhood home. itâs in the shot until he turns only to see the aforementioned error. itâs common knowledge by now but iâm going to add it anyway:Â âthe browser was able to communicate with a given server, but the server could not find what was requestedâ as a callback to what i mentioned before about lost memories, iâm also going to mention that there is something about this house that heâs forgetting. my guess is the reveal in s3 finale. finding out that he had been the one who jumped.
we know the girl with the scooter is young darlene, humming frĂšre jacques. (brother john/or however your version translated the name) and essentially the lyrics are âbrother [name] x2, are you sleeping? x2, ring the morning bells x2, ding ding dong x2.â we can make the connection to the 'slumberâ which mr robot mentioned in part 1- with the same meaning, iâd say. though to continue with my point, elliot greets her with âhello. hello, friendâ to what she responds with âbut weâre not friendsâ because she is his sister. again, this dream sequence had been before we knew that obviously, so this is important because in the french version of the song; the brother is the one who is supposed to ring the morning bells- and as elliot hums along and approaches the house, he sings âding ding dongâ out loud as further confirmation heâs, in fact, the brother in question.
i avoided the âfirst can you tell me, whatâs your monster?â part because i donâT KNOWâ
now, i mentioned before how whoever holds the key is the one in control of the operation? darlene had been the front face of fsociety while elliot was away during s2; once heâs out of prison, he gets the key back.Â
part 3.
summary: the door opens and elliot is standing in his apartment. tyrell is there, holding the key- looking at elliot and not saying anything. instead, qwerty the fish is the one to chat him up as elliot sits on the couch next to him.
at this point we know 'whoever holds the keyâ theme iâm going with- and here itâs no different. we know tyrell had been the one who initiated 5/9 with mr robot on that day. though he never gives it back, since heâs technically working with elliot ever since the hack.
now qwertyâs dialogue is so interesting to me because itâs this whole loop thing which i love so much and iâm gonna put the most important quotes here: âtimeâs money, elliot.â we all know which character is obsessed with time, and keep that in mind cause iâm about to bring it up again later. the rest goes: âwhen youâre in a fishbowl, ainât no such thing as change. my entire life has been spent in this thing. my whole worldâs on your side table. i look around same shit, different day. the lighting, the furniture. even the sounds always the same. iâm stuck on a loop. and it wonât stop until my life does.â now i think what heâs referring to here- being stuck in a 'fishbowlâ and seeing the same things, being stuck on a loop- could be seen as foreshadowing to elliotâs jail time. however, itâs not the only time elliot has this 'loopâ moment. the one that i think is being predicted here as well is the loop he has while working for e-crop? so the answer to how to âhelpâ his pet is to âmove him to a goddamn windowâ it just screams 'do something.â or rather- see the bigger picture.
part 4.
summary: theyâre in a restaurant, angela is cutting up a big betta fish. elliot is sitting on the other side of the table as he stares in betrayal and informs angela itâs his friend. she tries to feed him a piece but he refuses and looks over to see his younger self being force fed the fish by his mother. then elliot gets served a raspberry pie in which he finds the key upon the first bite. angela misunderstands the gesture and accepts the 'proposalâ which is followed by applause as she takes the key, hugs him, and they leave.
since qwerty had mentioned 'time is moneyâ as some kind of whiterose symbolism. seeing angela being the one to cut him up and say heâs delicious is, at the same time, betrayal in the sense sheâs associated with whiterose; and the fact she has been working with mr robot behind elliotâs back.this further proves the elliot working at e-corp loop i talked about earlier since qwerty is associated with both whiterose and angela at this point.Â
when she offers him the food, he refuses and sees his younger self do the same thing- but whatâs fun is that the woman sitting behind his mother has a white rose in her hair. so this could be seen as his motherâs general abuse plus both of them trying to get him to work for the dark army. this refusal is further emphasized with a symbolic 'wallâ between himself and angela.
the food in which the key is placed is a raspberry pie- or rather, raspberry pi. the one elliot is supposed to plant in steel mountain in this very episode, if it werenât for the withdrawal heâs going through. so heâs- once again- holding the key. though not for long, since angelaâs the next one to get it. i think her control had been in the episode where she had to help darlene.
bonus: the image taped next to elliot on his table seems to be a guy in a boat?? thereâs another one, too- but i never got a good look and have no idea what it means but itâs there.
part 5.Â
summary: elliot is entering the arcade in a tuxedo (with the hoodie still over it lmao), slowly approaching angela who is leaning against the wall and wearing a white dress. she approaches him, tells him a couple of things w a cynical attitude, before giving him the key back and saying it doesnât fit. when he asks why, it cuts to black in the middle of her response.
first of all the song playing in the back is an absolute bop and i suggest listening to it but ok letâs go back to serious stuff:Â
angela is dressed in white and standing in front of an illustration of a joker. the one symbolism i know about that in particular is that heâs a symbol of beginning and end- considering you have him at the top and bottom of the deck. so it could be seen as another loop, right? itâs there and i can see it in the scene when angela rewinds the video of the buildings falling- but it might as well have more meaning than that. for instance, itâs important to note that elliot has the same illustration behind himself. when she approaches elliot, thereâs a line separating them, suggesting they are opposites. further emphasizing the two sides of the deck reference.
the highlights in her monologue for me are the following: âyouâre not gonna do it, are you? change the world. figures, you were only born a month ago.â and this is so, so strange because itâs later followed by âyouâre not elliot, youâre the-â and then it cuts off. itâs too obvious to say it might be another personality elliot created. either mr robot, or us- but the last part changes everything because she isnât asking elliot what his monster is. sheâs asking the person she sees in elliot. âyouâre afraid. afraid of your monster. do you even know what it is?â and honestly?? i fuckiN DONâT.
part 6.
summary: dark room filled with childrenâs laughter. elliotâs calling out and saying hello- then he sees the camera and the fsociety mask in front of him. he slowly approaches it, has an inner monologue with us, puts it on and says 'i am here. you are alone.â which is followed by the arcade lights turning on & beeping as elliot takes the mask off and gasps. then the dream is officially over.
the laughter i associate with forgotten childhood, i think? iâm not too smart on this scene i wonât lie. i think it was supposed to be seen as the âyou created all of thisâ or âi am mr robotâ foreshadowing but that seems a bit too simple? though honestly, i canât see much else here other than the sound of the arcade being the 'alarmâ that wakes him out of his slumber.
another one for this, thatâs a bit far fetched but can work goes: the childrenâs laughter are young darlene & elliot- and the camera elliot is looking at, the one w the mask attached to it could represent the camera he took from his father on that day he jumped out. considering the mask had originally come from a movie darlene & himself used to watch as kids.
the words elliot says when he puts the mask on, when heâs mr robot, are âi am here. you are alone.â which could mean a number of things?? since the moment he says this, the arcade lights up and shows that he is, in fact, alone. once again the symbolism i personally see the most here is 'although nobody else is physically here with you, iâm there inside of you.â another âweâre the same personâ one here, iâm guessing.
so i must admit i ended on quite an anticlimactic note. since itâs the scene thatâs the shortest and confuses me a lot- i donât know how much sense this all made but i tried my best to sum my thoughts up without going all over the place. but!! you can tell me what you think about all this in my inbox and give some of your own input all the time, iâd love to hear it!! same goes for if you want me to analyze any of the other dream sequences elliot has. thanks for reading!!
#something came up & i ended up being interrupted a lot i might edit some parts later cuz rn im dead so sorry for that!!#mr robot#elliot alderson#darlene alderson#angela moss#mr robot theory#/mine#shutupneil

Captive Together - Mer!Jotaro x Mer!Reader P1
Okay, fair warning, this oneshot is LONG. Like, really really long. I divided it into 4 parts but still every chapter is a monster. I edited it best I could, but when it takes a whole day to do so, you can get tired and unattentive, lol. This whole thing got out of hand and it is weird, but I like it. With that out of the way, enjoy some Mer!Joot đ
Part 1Â |Â Part 2Â |Â Part 3Â |Â Part 4
Word Count: 8531
Opening your eyes, you winced a little at the stinging jab of pain that shot through your abdomen. With sluggish movements, you drifted forward until you could feel your hand hit glass.Â
Right. You were in that human facility...
How did you end up in this mess again?
- - - -
âQuick! Go! Go!!â Your voice was urgent and a little panicked, scaring the two pups in front of you to do as you asked. They didnât know who you were, where you came from, and if you were even able to be truly trusted, but the looming shadow closing in on your location and the terrifying rumble and roar of - what they thought was - a shark was enough to spur them into doing whatever you said.
You had just been swimming by, travelling from place to place looking for a place to live, maybe even a pod whoâd accept you. And that was when you spotted the two pups, all by themselves and playing with the sand on the ocean floor, no adults in sight.
Seeing how big and mischievous their grins were, you quickly realised they had most likely snuck away from their pod; bringing back some memories from when you had done that yourself.Â
With a good-natured sigh, you started to swim over, deciding to take them back to their pod before something would happen.
âHey, you two.â You clicked out as you approached them calmly, a warm smile on your face. Upon the sound of a voice, the two - they couldnât have been older than 1,5 years - shot their heads up, eyes comically widening. âWhatâre you playing?â You asked as you bridged the remaining gap, letting yourself float down to sit on the seabed close to them about two meters away; giving them a little bit of space yet also sitting close enough, to show them you meant no harm.
âWeâve never seen this kind of sand before.â The pup with a pretty, dark blue tail and impressive hairdo spoke up a little meekly and your smile widened just a little bit more at the sweet answer, making both kids relax a bit.
âSo you decided to come out here and play in it?â
âMhm!â The other pup, with a darker grey tail and two markings running crossed down his face, hummed happily, his voice sounding gruff as if he had spent a week in the Red Sea, even at his young age.
âSoo, you didnât sneakily sneak away from your pod and parents to go exploring the big blue and happened to stumble across this seabed with sand you hadnât seen before, right?â You questioned cheekily, leaning your chin in your hand as you raised a teasing eyebrow.
Both their eyes widened a bit and you chuckled while the pup with the hairdo curled in a bit on himself. âAre we in trouble?âÂ
âNot with me, no.â You smiled, making him come out of his shell a bit again. âWith your parents however? I canât say.â Now they were both making themselves small, guilty looks on their faces. âCâmon, Iâm sure it will be fine.â You reassured them as you pushed yourself off the seabed, swimming over to the two pups until you were in right by them and placing a hand on either of their backs. âItâs best to get you back to your pod now though.â
âO-Okay.â
You hummed a little and pushed them gently to start swimming, one on either side of you. You looked between them both, seeing the anxious looks on their faces and decided to try and distract them a bit as you chaperoned them back. You happened to have noticed a pod took up residence in this area and these two smelled like they came from it, so you knew where to go. You also knew that pod was quite a ways away so you had to find a way to fill the time anyways.
âSo, what are your names?â
âI-Iâm Josuke, thatâs Okuyasu.â
You hummed a little, giving them both another smile. âSo, how long ago did you sneak out?â
âUh, the sun was about there.â Josuke pointed up to where the sun had stood in the sky when they left, filtering through the surface of the water at an angle that told you they snuck out about an hour ago.
âHm, well, maybe no one in your pod has noticed your absence yet and I can help you two sneak back in!â You started in a secretive voice, making both pups perk up. Okuyasu drifted a little closer to you and grabbed your hand, Josuke seeing and doing the same on your other side, nodding happily at you.
To be honest, you highly doubted no one had noticed their absence, but swimming with two anxious pups was something you would rather avoid. Not only because you feared your lack of experience would make you unable to handle it, but also because anxious pups meant slow pups, and matching their pace when they were anxiously swimming in dread for what was to come was about the most nail biting experience one could have.
âSo, why did you swim out so far th-â whatever you were going to ask was interrupted when your ears picked up on the distant sounds of a motorboat.Â
Your eyes widening in alarm, the two pups noticed the warning signals you automatically gave off and soon picked up on the noise as well, seeing as the boat was speeding closer very fast.Â
Now, humans were aware of the existence of Mer, but this was supposed to be a protected area. So if there were humans here, especially those with the loud motors? That could only mean bad news.
âQuick! Go! Go!!â You wrenched your hands from their grips before starting to push on their backs, trying to urge them to go.
Okuyasu let a feared whine escape from his throat while Josuke immediately employed the tactic he had been taught to use whenever in danger: call out.
âShark! Shark!â He trilled out in a panic, the trills and clicks of his voice carrying a lot further through the water than at his normal pitch and volume, soon joined by Okuyasu in the same fashion as he remembered what he was supposed to do.
While you were glad they had their security systems in order, you knew how clever humans were, especially those who went against the rules set in place, and you feared that they might hear the two pups.
âSsh, ssh, Iâll keep you safe from the shark! Letâs hide between those rocks, come on!!â You managed to grab both their little hands again and frantically dragged them along with you as you swam full speed towards the rocks that sat about forty meters away, both Josuke and Okuyasu too shocked by the sudden speed they were being pulled along with to keep shouting warnings in panic.
It was dangerous to get to the rocks. The boat was almost right above you by now and to get to safety, you had to swim with the pups underneath the belly of the thing. The water was crystal clear today and the chances of being seen were high.
Safety for the pups was your one and only priority though and so you gunned it.
With an incredible speed, you shot through the water, making full use of your tail as you dragged the poor kids with you, them trying their best to flap their tails and help swim - although it was mainly for decoration and show by now.
Forty meters,
Thirty five,
Thirty,
You were now swimming directly underneath the boat and you tilted your head, keeping a wary eye on the thing as you saw it suddenly stop and rock, presumably from movement from the humans on top.
Twenty five,
A shape on the boat, barely able to be made out through the distortion of the water, tipped you off to the incoming danger and you immediately pulled Josuke and Okuyasu in, pushing them forward with all your might right before a sharp and searing pain shot past your left side.
From the boat, someone had thrown a harpoon down, the speed and angle serving to graze your side, creating a nasty cut on your waist that ran from there, diagonally over part of your stomach before the thing embedded itself in the sea floor.
A sharp and searing pain came in waves but you refrained from calling out, only hissing through your teeth with a small grunt before you shook your head, ignoring it for now as you saw a rope was attached to the end of the sharp stick. It was slowly wrenched free from the sand and you wasted no time in shooting past it, scooping Okuyasu and Josuke up in your arms as you rushed past them, seeing as they were clinging onto each other in shock as they saw you being hit.
âYouâre bleeding!âÂ
âItâs okay!â You chirped back over the rush of water coming past as you tried to swim as fast as possible with the pain, leaving a trail of blood behind as you went.
Fifteen,
Ten,
Five,
âOkay, hide behind those rocks and stay there no matter what happens okay? Donât come out until someone from your pod comes and gets you, do you understand?!â You shook them both a little, maybe not being the best course of action but you had to make your point clear.
âO-Okay!â
âDonât make a sound either!â You called back over your shoulder as you started swimming away, secretly looking to see if they were well hidden and stayed put as you asked them to. You saw the both of them look at you with fear and anxiousness, peeking from behind the rocks, and sent them the last best reassuring smile you could muster before turning to look forward again and booking it. You were gonna save those pups if it cost you your damn life.
- - - -
Your fuzzy memory finally began to clear up a bit and you remembered how another boat came and chased the hunterâs one away. You had led the hunterâs boat away from the pups but got trapped in a cove, only for the new boat with science humans to come to your aid.
Upon seeing your injury, they got very concerned and offered to take you with them so they could treat you and help you.
Despite their honeyed words and friendly appearance though, there was one blaring warning signal. These humans that were claiming to trying to âhelp youâ, smelled exactly like the ones from the boat that had injured you. Which meant these people had interacted; and not just in passing or a small falling out, no they spent a while with each other to have the scent rub off that heavily.Â
In other words, these were no friends to you.
Despite knowing this, you had agreed to their offer. Those pups were still nearby, what could you have done? Maybe if they took you along theyâd be satisfied, and never realise there were more Mer nearby. And so you allowed them to take you.
-
âGood news! Today the bandages come off and we are planning to transport you to a bigger tank while you further recover!â One of the humans you had come to see a little more often in your past two days in this tiny tank approached, that easily recognisable false smile on his face. Whenever he approached like that, there was something else behind it. Yet, you pretended to not notice, perking up in happiness and sloshing around in your tank like an excited puppy despite the pain that brought.
âFor me?â You asked. Your human English was a little rusty and sounded somewhat garbled, which was no surprise given how you had to use completely different parts of your vocal cords to speak it, but at least it was understandable.
âYes!â He grinned before stepping even closer. âAnd! Inside there is a surprise! Around the same time as we found you, we found another Mer, stuck in a fishing net. Theyâre in the tank you will be transferred to today!â He sounded genuinely happy this time and you realised with a bit of horror he probably saw it all as a big experiment. Most likely wanting to see how two of the same species reacted upon meeting. âItâs that one over there!â He pointed behind himself to a large tank on the opposite end of the large room.
You had noticed this tank almost immediately when you first got to this facility. After all, why were you stuffed into a tiny tank that was more fitted to fit an octopus rather than the large tank that was available right there? But if it housed another Mer then that was logical. Probably a bigger Mer than you as well.
You had seen the scientists hover around it but you never saw any creature inside when you looked at it.
Would it be a male or female waiting for you in there? Given the manâs excitement however, you had a hunch. All you could say was you hoped they hadnât been injured by the humans to bring in like you were.
- - - -
You spent the rest of the day just trying everything in your power to annoy the ever living fuck out of the scientists around.
You were in a small glass tank, barely big enough to let you stretch your tail out fully and with an open top, allowing you to communicate.
Sloshing around and making water spill over the tank was one of your favourite things to do, your goal to make the papers in the hands of the scientists wet or to make them slip and slam a few teeth out on the floor. If they glare at you, you just acted like it was completely involuntary, having pain in your injury, or the need to move being the cause of you sloshing and splashing so much.
Your next method of annoying scientists was: throwing the small ball they had given you directly to their heads. It was a small yellow thing, apparently filled with air so that it would float on the water. And just the perfect size to lob at someoneâs head.
Of course, if they turned around angry, ball in hand, youâd act as if it was all a game. All a game your dumb and simple mind could come up with. And so the scientists just let it happen, picking up the ball and begrudgingly returning it to you every time so you wouldnât start sadly whining like some puppy.
And that was exactly what your goal was; to convince them you were no smarter than a seal.
Of course, you had the ability of speech, but you intentionally kept your vocabulary in the low. Talking a bit like a pup, with missing or incorrectly pronounced words while the rest of your behaviour mirrored it.
You smiled a lot, indulging the scientists in questions about Mer life that you answered âas best you couldâ while in reality you were stringing lie after lie after lie. You pretended to be their friend, just like they did to you. What comes around, gets around, after all.
Sometimes though, when you were talking to the humans, you felt as if there were eyes on you. And not the scientist eyes or the camera eyes, but angrier ones.
-
As the morning bled into noon, you noticed how warily the scientists were being around the big tank. It was open at the top same as yours and reached until about the humanâs midriff, but the rest of the tank disappeared into the floor for it was probably a lot deeper than it seemed to you if there was another Mer in there that youâd never even seen before.
But, noticing how hesitant the humans were to stick their head over the glass and look down, you figured youâd test them a little.Â
No one was really paying attention to- or around you, so you picked up your little yellow ball - the only entertainment you had - and tested its weight a few times before chucking it so hard and so far that it soared over everyoneâs heads and plopped right in the bigger tank.
As it landed, you cheered as if it had been your childish goal all along before expectantly looking at the humans. They were, after all, expected to bring it back to you.
Much to your internal delight, you watched how the humans looked back at you in horror and disbelief. It all but confirmed your suspicions that whoever was in there, was very much not happy. And different from you, they decided to go the aggressive route.
When none of the scientists made a move to retrieve your ball for you, you started to make a little whining noise in the back of your throat, making puppy eyes and starting to look all sad.
If the Mer in there indeed went the aggressive route, that meant that your plan was still in full swing. For, if they only exuded aggression, the scientists wouldnât necessarily see many signs of higher intelligence. They would most likely chock it up to animal instinct instead of genuine anger. Which meant you could continue playing as dumb as you liked without them getting suspicious.
âItâs okay! Iâll, uh... go get it for you!â One of the scientists spoke up towards you and you perked up a little, gripping the edge of your tank and pushing up a bit to mock excitement.
Curiously, you watched as he went to grab a long net on a stick. Was it not within arms reach?Â
You watched as he walked back over to the tank and warily started inching the pole towards the ball. The entire thing shook with nervousness and you watched in awe as suddenly, out of nowhere, a large Mer shot up, slashing through the invading item and breaking it clean in half before disappearing below the floor again in a flash.
The scientist screamed in fear as the pole got cut clean through, the net falling down into the water before sinking, while one of the other humans went to comfort the scared one.
That was the best thing you had seen in all your time being here.
âWhat has been said about unauthorised interactment with the large tank?!â A large booming voice suddenly sounded from the door the humans constantly walked in and out of and you, together with all the scientists, turned your heads towards it.
âS-She threw her ball in there, I was just trying to get it back like protocol says!â
âShe can go get it herself. Weâre transferring her right now.â
All eyes turned to you with that and you shrunk a little, lowering yourself into the water until only your eyes shyly peeked out. Somehow you had a bad feeling about this.
- - - -Â
Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad! BAD!
You were dangling in mid air on a crane or contraption, some sort of harness put around you and painfully rubbing against your wound. Mers healed faster than humans but your wound was still very much present and open and painful. Did they completely forget you had that or something?? They were even supposed to take off the bandaging today and they didnât! Although right now it was your only protection from excruciating pain.
Your tail barely had any support and was basically dangling in mid-air, held up only by the fact and grace of being attached to you and your attempt of using your abdominal muscles to keep it steady. Unfortunately for you, that was where your wound was as well, so WAHEY!
You were cursing up a storm as the crane moved you across the room, hovering over the floor as if you were flying. To the scientists, it just sounded like a bunch of panicked clicks and trills, but for you, you were using language so colourful, it would make anyone blush.
Water dripped from you like stalactites in a wet cave and the only satisfaction you had in this moment was that it would make the floor a little slippery for the scientists, hopefully with at least one falling on their face. After what seemed like an excruciatingly long time but was only a few minutes, you were dangling over the larger tank.Â
Your knuckles were white as you gripped onto the harness holding you up. You looked down and noticed how big it actually was. As you tried to gauge the depth from above the water however, the support holding you up clicked loose and you fell down into the tank, harness and all.
Thankfully, you managed to angle yourself to dive in at least a little gracefully instead of just belly flop in - which would be very bad from that height and with your injury.
As you fell into the water you had your arms protectively shielded over your head and your eyes screwed shut, but now you hesitantly blinked them open, bringing your arms down as you sunk down a tiny bit more before stopping.
Looking to your right, you were surprised to see several scientists looking through the glass. Apparently there was a room a floor lower which gave them perfect view of the big tank and the happenings inside it. They all had clipboards and notes and whatever, ready to record and write down everything that was about to happen.
That was the last thought you could really give it, for you suddenly saw something large and fast move from the bottom of the tank, all the way up to you.
Curling in on yourself on instinct, you looked up only to be met by one of the biggest and most intimidating Mer you had ever seen. His torso was in proportion to you but his tail was absolutely massive, almost twice the size of yours. It was strong and powerful looking, sleek black and probably about four or four and a half meters in length while his torso himself was impressive as well, muscle and raw power screaming from every inch of him.
How in the fuck were those scientists ever able to capture him?
His face was set in a glare and you instantly averted your eyes, displaying submissiveness as you turned your head and bowed it a little.
Now, you had wanted to display submissive behaviour from the beginning, just to keep your act up, no matter what kind of Mer was in here, but when you opened your mouth to try and talk and he growled in warning, you immediately slammed it shut. This shark Mer made it very easy.Â
After a few more seconds of him glowering at you, you opted for safety and abruptly turned around, swimming down as fast as you could to the bottom of this 20-meter deep tank and shooting into the massive skull that sat there. You had to struggle to fit through the eye, the harness still on you hooking against it and hindering you even more, but with some squeezing and manoeuvring, you managed to get inside.
Looking out of one of the eyes, you saw he hadnât really moved but was still glaring at you before letting out a âTchâ and casually turning to the side, languidly swimming away and down to the corner opposite of the one you were in.Â
There was a thick, white, concrete column in the middle of the tank, impeding your vision of him as he disappeared behind it.
Letting out the breath you were holding, you closed your eyes for a second before inhaling the water around you. It felt much cleaner and more crisp than the stuffy tank you had been forced to sit in, though the scent of the other Mer was very present as well.Â
Looking down at yourself, you hissed a little and cursed out the humans as you grabbed hold of the harness and lifted it as far away from the wound on your side and stomach as possible.Â
The skull you were in provided cover yes, but it was also half buried in sand and you barely had any room to move or even breathe, let alone try to get that damn harness off. Going out while the shark Mer was around and wary of you seemed like a bad idea however so you just stayed put, opting to wait until night before getting out and trying to get the damn thing off.
So, in the time you were waiting, you decided to try and figure out what the fuck kind of skull you were in. It was slanted and half buried in sand, elongated jaw with big round eye sockets. It sure as hell wasnât any animal you knew of. You even started doubting if it was a real animal at all. When you touched it it definitely didnât feel like bone at least.
Several hours passed like that and you finally peeked your head out the eyehole again.Â
The tank itself was not too bad. The bottom was filled with sand and rocks, water plants and seaweed and such sticking out and growing from it, making it look rather natural.Â
With some effort, you squeezed yourself out of the eyehole again, hissing as you scraped your wound before settling on the sand right in front of the skull and starting to wriggle and tug at the harness.
Why did the humans do it like this? Werenât they supposed to take it off? Or were they so afraid of your new tank-mate that they just decided âfuck it, youâre on your ownâ?
Aggravated, you attempted to pull it over your head. Unsuccessful.Â
You tried to unclasp it. The clasps are at the back where you canât reach. Unsuccessful.
You attempted to pull it apart. You are not strong enough. Unsuccessful.Â
By now you were running out of options and just violently tugging at the constricting thing. It sat over your gills on your neck, making it hard to breathe - though that didnât stop you from spitting every curse in the book at the scientists who were undoubtedly still watching, even if the glass where they stood earlier was as dark as the night.Â
A flutter of the water suddenly reached your ears and you snapped your head up to see the shark Mer quickly swimming towards you, angry and with a murderous look in his eye.Â
Under optimal circumstances you would have hidden somewhere he couldnât fit, like the skull. Unfortunately for you, you were wearing a harness and also wouldnât be able to get inside fast enough.Â
With not many options left, you darted to the left, quickly swimming away. Taking a glance back, you gasped when you saw he was in hot pursuit. With his larger tail he was quickly gaining but you shot to the side, cutting the corner around the concrete pillar in the middle as much as possible.
Looking to the left briefly, you spotted a corner where the sand was more tailored than everywhere else, a large indent where a body had been resting.Â
That was all the time you got to look at it however, since you were already rounding the pillar again to show the skull you had been hiding in.Â
Right now, you cursed yourself for darting. There was no way you could outswim him. You should have just rushed into the skull back there or stayed still, hoping he wouldnât tear you apart. Now, all you could do was try to get back in the skull.
That was a vain hope however, as he had already caught up with you.Â
Your blood froze as his right arm curled around your waist, ready to grab. Yet before he did, he hesitated. Instead, he allowed you to slip away a bit further before clamping his arm around your tail, tightly grabbing hold there as he forcefully stopped your momentum and yanked you back, grabbing your shoulders with both hands once in range.
In one smooth motion, he slammed you shoulders first into the concrete pillar before removing one hand and using the claws on it to rip straight through the harness still stuck on you.Â
âStop disturbing the water with your thrashing and sleep!â He growled out, a threatening undertone in his voice while his face was so close to yours.
You were breathing fast and staring back with wide eyes but it seemed he wanted an answer before he backed off so you nodded.Â
Seemingly content with that, he rudely shoved you aside before lazily swimming away, flicking his hand to get rid of some excess fabric of the harness, his tail swishing side to side as he disappeared behind the pillar again to the corner he seemed to have taken up residence in, not looking back once.
You blinked a few times, looking at where he disappeared for some seconds before you swam up, swimming out of the harness with as little tail motion as possible.
Your breathing finally levelled and you turned back around, grabbing the remains of the harness and swimming over to the skull, draping the destroyed thing over a lip on the outside before squeezing into the eye.Â
- - - -
Waking from your slumber, you got to work digging.Â
You had a hunch this skull was going to be your home for the time being, so you decided to make a better way of entering and exiting. Digging through the sand laying in the mouth of the skull, you followed the elongated jaw and dug until you made a nice little opening that you wouldnât have to squeeze through.
While you were digging, you noticed the other Mer swimming around. He avoided your little hovel but otherwise would not sit still. Making laps, checking the corners, running his hand along the wall of the tank as if testing it.Â
Everything pointed to him wanting to get out of here, just as much as you did.
For now, you decided to keep staying out of his way though.
Right as you exited your skull, you were met with the powerful and intimidating form of the merman. There goes your plan. âWhatâre you doing?â He snapped at you almost, his tone curt and to the point.
You were still half inside but decided to just stay there like that, looking up at him. âIâm making an easier and less painful entrance.â You explained, motioning to the blood stained bandage on your side. It was designed to be worn under water but even so you doubted it was doing much good.
âWell, be more quiet, youâre making too much noise.â He growled before turning around, nearly hitting you with his tail fin as he went.
You were about one second away from giving him a well earned tap on said tail fin, but managed to refrain yourself at the last second.
âWait.â You called out after him and he surprisingly enough stopped, looking back at you over his shoulder while you got out of the skull fully. âWhatâs your name?â
â...âÂ
He didnât say anything for a second, just looking intently at you for a second, almost as if he was searching for something. Whatever he found he must have been satisfied with though.
âJotaro.âÂ
A smile appeared on your face at his answer and that piqued his interest. For, when he had been watching you in the small tank opposite the room, you had smiled so much whenever the scientists interacted with you, and it had annoyed him to the point of making his blood boil. But now? Up close? He could see this was the first genuine smile you had given since arriving in this facility, even if it was timid.
âNice to meet you, Iâm Y/N. Letâs get the fuck outta here soon, okay?â
Before anything else could be said, you heard your name being called from above. You had given it to the humans but that didnât stop the pit of disgust when you heard it. Your face contorted for just a second before you steeled yourself and twisted it into the sweet innocent look the humans were used to.
Unknown to you, Jotaro warily watched you as you did that, sharp eyes following your form as you went to the skull and grabbed the harness laying on top before swimming up to the surface.
Shyly poking your head out of the water, you darted your eyes back and forth a bit before landing on the man standing right next to the edge of the tank who had called you.
âGood morning.â He smiled and you bobbed your head a bit in greeting. âWhere is the harness?â He then asked and you let your hand drift to the surface, the broken harness in hand.
The man tutted a little but then stuck out his hand, taking it from you before moving it to his other hand and using the one in the water to motion you closer, pointing at the bandaging around your waist. âWe didnât have time to take a look at that yesterday. How about now, Hm?â
God how you wanted to bite his hand. Leave that damned harness on all night and then act like nothing happened? Claiming to just want to look at and take care of your wound again? It almost made you regret trying to trick them by acting dumb and nice.
Someone else didnât have the gripe of trying to keep up the act of being friendly however.
Out of nowhere, Jotaro breached right in front of you, immediately diving back down and pushing you down with him while he violently smashed his tail against the scientists outstretched hand.
Said scientist screamed in pain as several of the bones snapped at the powerful strike, others rushing towards him while Jotaro just left the chaos behind and pushed you further down before abruptly letting go about halfway to the bottom.
âThe fuck are you doing.â He snarled and you backed up a bit.
âWhat do you mean?â
âInteracting with them. What is your plan to get out of here that makes you need to get all friendly with them?âÂ
As he said that, you tried to steady your breathing. No matter his looks or his seeming temper, his mind was clearly not to be underestimated and already proved to be very sharp. He knew you were putting up an act.
âIâm trying to make them think I am no more intelligent than like, what? A four or three year old human?â You spoke, getting a little lost in thought thinking about human ages and their behaviours during it.
âWhy.â
Jotaroâs voice snapped you out of it and you focused again.
âIf they expect this level of intelligence from me-â You kept your hand flat and stationary at the level of your bellybutton. â-they will tailor security measures and such around that level of intelligence. Humans like to cut corners. If they think I donât know how to open a door, they wonât lock it.â You continued and Jotaro had his eyes narrowed at you. âSo, when I suddenly show this level of intelligence-â You moved your hand up and hovered it at the level of your neck. â-they wonât expect it and Iâll be able to get out of here while they try to figure out what happened.
Despite seemingly getting your explanation, Jotaro seemed truly revolted by the idea of buttering up the scientists.
Without another word, a frustrated rumble tumbled from his chest and he turned to the right, starting to swim away, back to his corner. But not before stopping once more and looking back at you. âDonât let them touch you.â With that, he continued on his way.
Bringing your arm in, you held it to your chest as you watched him swim away.
- - - -Â
About two days passed and during that, your communication with Jotaro had been minimal. You two more or less avoided each other - though there wasnât any bad blood between you two.
Just now, a big slab of tuna had been lowered and - while you had planned to just wait until Jotaro was done - he seemed to have other plans. He sliced off a chunk, letting it drift down as if he didnât notice it falling while he himself continued with what he had. Yet subtly, you could see him look at you, releasing one low click sound from deep within his chest. A non-verbal go-ahead that many leaders of a pod used; to show that it was for you.
Sending him a quick smile, you darted over and scooped up the meat from below him right before it could touch the floor. With that, you then turned around and went to the corner opposite of him. For once, Jotaro was not in his usual corner. And you were going to make full use of it by doing what you had been meaning to for the last few days.
Putting the tuna in your mouth and just holding it there, you started plucking the gigantic seaweed that grew from the bottom, slicing it at the soil with your claws until your arms were practically completely full.
Peeking your head around the pillar, you saw Jotaro still eating and thus silently yet quickly swam over to his corner.
The sand was bunched up in a small hill on one end, a deeper and bigger indent right in front of it, showing it was where Jotaro slept every night. There were some plants growing around it, but not many. None close enough that they would be able to bend in the current and annoy him as he tried to sleep at least. That was good.
Now, you knew sleeping on the sand was fine. You had been doing it yourself, even insulated and kept a little more warm because of your protective surrounding skull. And, while the heap of sand behind the dent was meant for the same purpose - to retain some body heat - you knew from experience that plants were way better at that.
So, you started placing the seaweed leaves on the sand indentation. One by one you placed them down, layering them over comfortably until it padded the entire space.
You were happy you picked a lot because you had underestimated how big Jotaroâs bedding would be, seeing he was quite massive as well.
Next came the tricky part. Getting the leaves to stick together and stay on the sand, paired with getting rid of all the prickly edges.
Opting to make sure it stayed in place first, you curled the edges of the leaves around the edge of the sand indent and buried it firmly in the grain, making sure to tuck it in well and good so that it would not let go. With that out of the way, you began chipping away at the sharp edges.Â
You worked as fast as you could, wanting to be finished before Jotaro was done eating and would return here.Â
Finally done with the snipping, you ran your hand across it, satisfied that there was no uncomfortable plant membrane sticking out anymore.
Onto the last step, you started with the hardest part: weaving the plants together. Cutting small incisions in the leaves with your nails, you started interlocking those cut sections, fitting them together like a puzzle until every leaf on the entire bed was interwoven.
You were almost done when you spotted movement out of the corner of your eye. Turning your head, you saw Jotaro swimming closer, a confused yet wary look on his face.Â
In the blink of an eye you were already swimming away, booking it towards your skull and shooting inside with practiced ease. You were pretty sure Jotaro couldnât fit through the mouth, so you felt relatively safe in case he got mad about you messing with his sleeping spot.
No angry sounds came however.Â
- - - -
Several more days passed just like that. You had made a seaweed bed for yourself as well, stuffing it in the skull and spending quite some time digging a little further into the sand so that you would have a true little hovel. Because of this you realised the skull had no lower jaw, which allowed you to dig down into the sand, causing for even more insulation to keep yourself warm at night. Was it necessary? No. Did it feel great to sleep in a warm environment? You bet it did.
Your interaction with Jotaro was still bar to none. Although he did seem more accepting of you, no longer letting out a dangerous or angry rumble when you moved too much or splashed around a bit.
You had gone back to playing with your yellow ball, throwing it at the scientists heads - though they dodged it more easily now that their attention wasnât divided between two tanks. Still, whenever you did hit one of them, it felt like a huge accomplishment.Â
While pretending to play however, you took the opportunity to gather information. Pick up on what the scientists were saying, checking the tank walls while you were pretending to swim around as fast as you could - while in actuality you went only about half as fast. In particular, hopping up on top of the concrete column rewarded you with figuring out there were cameras in the thing. They were small, built in and probably very expensive.
So the scientists were watching your every move even if they werenât watching.
You honestly felt terrible when you figured that out and had retreated back to your skull, not coming out for 28 hours, not even for food.
About thirteen days had passed since you first came here, and you still had no idea how to get out...

To say the scientists of the research facility were in excited chaos and confusion that morning was an understatement.Â
After nearly two weeks of no process at all with the Mer they captured - the two of them only avoiding each other as much as possible - they come in for work, only to see the two of them curled up in the maleâs nest and sleeping together!?
âWhat the hell happened?! John! Get the footage of last night!â
âRight!â Said man immediately sprinted away to get it while the rest stayed glued to the glass, watching the two Mer as best as they could with how far away from the glass they had set up camp.
A few minutes later, John returned and they all watched with baited breath to see what happened.Â
Operating the four cameras, they switched between them and fast forwarded the footage from last night until there was motion, pressing play.
âWhat happened that gave them a change of heart?âÂ

Disturbance in the water had roused Jotaro from his sleep.Â
There was absolutely nothing in this tank except for a feeble artificial water current that helped with filtering. So, to suddenly feel such jerking motions in the water could only mean that it was the other occupant of the tank.
Jotaro tried to ignore it for a bit and go back to sleep but the irregularity and violence in which you were moving meant there was no chance of that.
A little annoyed, Jotaro got up and started swimming over to the skull you had taken residence in.Â
Unlike the last time you had woken him up during the night, you were not in front of it. Furrowing his brows, Jotaro turned up and swam to one of the eye sockets. Gripping the edge of it, he pulled himself closer and peered inside.
It was hard to make anything out in the dark but with the limited night vision he had, Jotaro could see your form, completely curled in on yourself on top of a bed similar to what you had made for him.Â
Only, then you twitched.
Your whole body jolted for a bit, a barely audible squeak leaving you before you settled again, only for you to jolt again a few seconds later. Your face was screwed up in pain and discomfort and Jotaro let his gaze drift to your waist, seeing if you could be in pain from that, even if it should have healed for the majority of it.
It wasnât that though. You didnât clutch at it in pain or explicitly tried to avoid touching it. You seemed to just be having a nightmare.
For a moment Jotaro considered just leaving. Youâd wake up from it eventually and would then just go back to sleep. But that thought was quickly chased away.
Not ever had he seen you so... vulnerable. And as he looked at you, something in him screamed at him to protect you. To protect you, to hold you, to keep you close and safe. Only after a few seconds of feeling his stomach twist did Jotaro realise. Wait, shit- did he just imprint on you?
Just like pups would imprint on parents, so could future mates imprint on each other. It didnât always happen or all that often actually, but something in Jotaro told him that that was exactly what just happened. Fuck.
Stunned for a few seconds longer, it was another small whimper from you that snapped him out of it. Pushing forward, Jotaro got closer to the eye but he could soon see that he wouldnât be able to reach you through there with his arm, you were too far to the back and he definitely wouldnât be able to fit. Hell, he wouldnât even be able to put both his shoulders through there, let alone his tail.
So, with no other option, Jotaro would have to fully go inside another way.
He didnât want to invade your personal space, but what other choice did he have? With a bit of hesitation, he swam towards the entrance you had dug and looked down into it. While it was big enough for you to be a comfortable and easy fit, Jotaro would either not fit at all, or have to really squeeze.
He got up for a second and sighed. He could hardly believe he was actually gonna do this. With a little stretch of his back and tail in anticipation, he grabbed hold of the roof of the mouth of the skull.Â
Lifting it out of the sand was less heavy than he had thought, most likely because of the light material of the skull, but that didnât mean it was easy. The sand was suctioning it quite strongly but he only had to lift it a little bit to accommodate himself, not pull it out completely.Â
After a few seconds of lifting it up, Jotaro released it, content to see it stayed at the same height he had put it in before he almost immediately ducked down and made his way inside.
Swimming slowly to not scare you awake even more than you probably would be, Jotaro reached where you were tucked in the corner.
âY/N.â He softly called out your name but it didnât do shit. With a lack of social skills or experience, and the need to do at least something, Jotaro instead just opted to grab your shoulder. âWake up.â
In an instant, you came to life. Seeing nothing but a large form hovering over you caused an immediate fight or flight response and you grabbed at the hand on your shoulder, using your other to swipe at your attacker, only for them to grab both your wrists.
âItâs just me, calm down.â The voice of Jotaro spoke and your breath hitched in your throat. Jotaro? What? How?
Any logic was cast out of your mind as your instincts kicked in. Right as Jotaro let go of your wrists, you shot forward and clung to him. The safety that him being larger and stronger provided and the body heat he emitted the only thing playing in your barely awake mind, still half stuck in the nightmare.
Jotaro was taken aback as you wrapped around him, yet, for what felt like the first time in forever, he welcomed the contact. As he raised one arm to attempt to wrap it around you and provide more safety, he instead painfully slammed his elbow against the skull, making you squeak and cling tighter to him before realising it was not a threat and letting up a bit.
As much as Jotaro wanted to, he couldnât stay here. This skull could barely fit him as is, let alone with another person there.Â
Patting your shoulder twice, you looked up at him and Jotaro felt his heart seize at the look you gave him. You also understood what he meant however and let go of him, floating back a bit.
Placing his hand on your head, Jotaro turned with a bit of effort and swam out of the skull.
As his tail disappeared from sight, you cast your eyes down. You were so tired and barely conscious enough to keep your eyes open, yet still, going back to sleep sounded like the last thing you wanted to do.
Suddenly however, you felt your wrist being grabbed and Jotaro yanked you with him out of that skull.
Confusion riddled your sleep heavy mind and you barely had enough thought to move your tail, attempting to help swim but mostly being dragged along by Jotaro.
Before long, you two reached Jotaroâs nest and he sat down on it, pulling you a bit closer since you were practically as far away as you could be, stretched out arms and confused. When you still didnât seem to get it, Jotaro pulled you down with him until you were pressed against him, your back to his chest as he had his arm around you from behind. His tail started curling around you until it fully encased your form, pushing under your head until you were laying it on top, as if using his tail as a pillow.Â
âSleep.â Jotaro spoke softly from right behind you, almost whispering it into your ear, making your heart skip a beat. Almost immediately after saying that, a faint and low rumble began coming from his chest, almost as if he were purring, and you could instantly feel yourself becoming less anxious.
The soft vibrations on your back together with the protective arm wrapped over you and the strong, thick tail curled around and in front of your entire body made you feel safer than you had in a long time - maybe ever.Â
By now, you could barely remember your nightmare, only that it scared you to death. But even then, all those fears were slowly driven away by the comfort of Jotaroâs warmth and the protection he brought.

Summary:Â You keep your promise to Gojo and the two of you enjoy a little bit of roleplaying.
A/N: I know it's been a while since I posted last. Here is the updated chapter (she is kind of long) and it's basically 5% plot where everything else is smut. I have been reading this same thing for over a week and spent most of today editing, so I hope it's fine! Please keep in mind again that I do not have a beta, and will highly miss a lot of things or even misspell them. I hope you enjoy the chapter!  Requests are still open! I currently write for Gojo, Geto, Nanami, Toji, Sukuna and Choso. Please make sure I can see your age on your profile, otherwise you will be ignored (minors dni)Â

(Three Years Ago)
âLooks like someone is being spoiledâŠâ
You glanced around your apartment that has been completely decorated in flowers. You started grinning like an idiot thinking of Haruâs promise to give you a garden before replying, â itâs a long story... â
â Soo , things worked out after the failed anniversary dinner?â Gojo questioned, noticing the way you shyly bit your bottom lip as you returned your attention back onto the T.V. screen.
â Yes, they did âŠâ you answered casually, still holding that pretty smile on your lips. You were clicking the button on the remote as you switched between movies to pick one to watch for the evening. âI donât think I gave you the full updateâŠâ
Gojo took a sip of his melon soda, before leaning back comfortably against your couch. âNo you did not. Last time we spoke you told me you were going away for the weekend. So tell me, how did prince charming work his way back into your good graces?â
Hakone , the weekend getaway; memories of you and Haruâs trip flooded back to your mind. The onsen experience, strolling through nature by day, visiting art galleries and losing sleep at night just to make loveâŠ
âIt was⊠perfect.â you whispered breathlessly, your heart skipping a beat after you gave Gojo the brief explanation.
â How romantic⊠â the sorcerer replied, doing little to hide the hint of sarcasm in his tone.
You rolled your eyes at his comment, nudging your elbow playfully into his stomach. âDonât be such a killjoyâŠâ
From behind his dark frames, Gojo was reading your body language when you spoke. He pressed his lips together, not wanting to take away the happiness you were basking in and burying the thought that lingered his mind.
âYou really love him, donât you?â he asked again, his eyes glued onto you as he patiently waited for your reply.
Your cheeks went warm and your reaction was to adorably bury your face into the palm of your hands, desperately trying to fight off the butterflies swarming in your stomach. You leaned back on the couch next to your friend, dropping your hands down by your sides as you tilted your neck to face him.
â Hopelessly so⊠â
Gojo swallowed hard, a sinking sensation pummeled through his gut upon hearing your words. Your eyes flickered when you noticed how his expression hardened but he quickly switched to a big grin.
âAs long as youâre happy ⊠â he reassured, giving you a thumbs up.
âI am, very much so âŠâ
â Good!â Gojo replied, but the word tasted sour in his mouth and he quickly changed the subject. âNow letâs get back to picking our movieâŠâ
What the hell am I supposed to do now? he thought to himself, the disappointment weighing heavy on his heart.
I canât tell her yetâŠ
Iâll just have to wait...
(Present)
Gojo was exhausted. His day was tiresome and everything seemed to be getting on his last nerves. His morning started off on a bad note thanks to the higher ups. Itadori Yuji swallowing one of Sukunaâs fingers was not what he expected but now he had a problem on his hands involving the life of another teenager.
A talented kid at that, Itadori definitely had potential...
Gojo was good at hiding his frustrations from his students, and even from some of his peers. However, the minute he stepped into the lobby of his apartment building, the weight of his day came crashing down on his shoulders. He exited the elevator, slowly making his way over towards his apartment door but paused for a second before entering inside the safe haven of his home.
He immediately sensed your presence.
You called him earlier when he was at the school, asking if you could stop by his place to pick up something that you had forgotten.
âJust ask the security to let you in, Iâll give them a heads up and inform them... â Gojo distractedly replied before ending the call.
He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly to himself, thinking that maybe you decided to stick around and hang out at his place.
âWhat are you still doing here?â he asked, as he stepped through the threshold of his front door. âDid you really miss me that mu-uhhhhhhâŠâ
Gojo dropped his keycard on the floor, his mouth agape as he took in the sight of you standing before him. His heart literally stopped beating for a whole second and the sorcerer found himself frozen in the entrance of his living room.
â Gojo-san,â you purred, turning your heel from the large glass window you were wiping and smiling as you faced him directly. â Youâre home...â
Catching the great Gojo Satoru by surprise was something rare but you managed to do it with ease because he always had his guard down around you.
Gojo admired the outfit you were wearing. Your black dress was short, very short, with the bodice buttoned all the way up to your neck and little puffy sleeves covering your shoulders. The white apron you were wearing over it was trimmed with little frills, matching the detailing along the collar. His mouth went dry when he reached your legs covered in a pair of stockings but he noticed the single garter wrapped around your thigh adorned with a tiny bow. You were wearing black pointed high heels to match the ensemble, adding a decent amount of inches to your height. The cherry on top was the white silky headband that was pulling back your beautiful hair.
Gojo had given up on your promise weeks ago, thinking there was no possible way you might actually follow through with his idea.
Yet, here you were , dressed up in a french maid outfit.
You placed the cloth in your hand in the basket on your floor. Your heels clicking against the wooden surface and echoing around his quiet penthouse apartment as you approached him, holding your head high as you confidently nestled into the role you were playing.
You gripped his attention, but couldnât see how shocked he was from behind his dark sunglasses. As you stood in front of him you bent down to pick up the key card before elegantly standing upright and holding it up to his face.
âYou dropped this,â you stated quite matter of factly, batting your lashes at him innocently.
The man had been rendered speechless.
You raised your brow as the seconds passed, waiting for Gojo to say... something.
He could sense your heart beat increase, as you shifted your weight from one leg to the other and you nervously glanced away from his direction. You dropped the act for a minute as you placed your hands around your waist to look down at the outfit you were wearing.
â Uhm ⊠did I do this wrong ? This is the only outfit I could find online that was even close to the idea you had and it took weeks to actually get here. I can...I can try to find another dress if this isnât what you li-â
Gojo cupped your face in his hands, interrupting your comment and tilting your head up so you were looking at him as he snapped himself out of the trance you seemed to have put him under.
âNo! No, no no âŠyou look⊠fuck⊠you just caught me by surpriseâŠâ he replied, a wave of excitement rushing through him as he stumbled over his words. He proceeded to lower his sunglasses so you were met with azure eyes, softening his gaze as a cheeky grin spread across his gorgeous face. âYou look ...perfectâŠâ
He stretched out that last word, ensuring to savour every part of you. Your face grew warm but you couldnât help but smirk with approval that all your hard efforts into this costume worked their magic on your friend.
âReally?â you questioned in a hopeful tone, reaching for his wrist and giving him a squeeze. âIâm glad! You worried me for a secondâŠâ
Gojo leaned forward to kiss you, the heavy weight he bore when he stepped into his home dissipating as he tasted you on his tongue. Once he had his fill of you, he broke away from the kiss before casually walking backwards and instructing, âdonât mind me, Iâm just going to step out for a second so we can properly start this overâŠâ
You giggled before turning around and making your way back to your position next to his window. Gojo noticed your white slip peak from under your skirt, and he gently bit down on his knuckle unable to contain his own anticipation.
This is going to be fun, he thought.
When he stepped back inside his apartment it was with a totally different demeanor. He cleared his throat as he made his way over, noticing your face playfully light up before repeating your initial greeting:
â Gojo-san, youâre home... â
***
One hour.
You had the man stirring for an entire hour.
Gojo didnât think you would take this as seriously as you did but you were putting on a performance for him.
At first he sat in the living room, watching you mindlessly wipe his spotless windows and bending over ever so slightly for him to peep under your skirt. He impatiently tapped his finger against his thigh, knowing full well that he was not allowed to touch you unless you touched him first .
That was the rule you both agreed on.
When Gojo realised that you werenât planning on giving in so easily, he used the moment as an opportunity to change out of his uniform but that didnât stop you from being a tease.
While he was in his room, he switched to a pair of comfortable sweatpants and just as he was about to slip on his hoodie, you barged into his bedroom.
â Iâm sorry to intrudeâŠâ you announced innocently, sauntering your way over with your eyes lingering on his abdominal muscles and lifting up his half-filled laundry basket. â I just needed to wash theseâŠâ
Gojo pressed his tongue to his cheek, shaking his head at you as he moved to his drawer to replace his shades with his blindfold, knowing full well you were going to draw this out for as long as you can.
Maybe this is paybackâŠ
Gojo returned to the living room, his eyes fixated on the television screen as a way to distract himself from you.
After you did a few meaningless chores, you picked up the feather duster from your equipment basket and directed yourself into his line of sight. You began to â dust â off his shelves, swaying your hips deliberately from side to side as you walked in front of him.
â I hope you donât mind me in your way, Gojo-san âŠâ you said serenely, flicking the duster over the random items on his shelf.
âNot at allâŠâ the sorcerer replied, his voice smooth as silk when he spoke. âBut you should know you missed a spotâŠâ
You raised your brow as you glanced over your shoulder to meet his stare.
â Oh ?â
Gojo spread his legs further apart, resting his long arm on the back of the sofa before bringing his other hand forward to point high on his shelf.
âRight there,â he indicated.
You hummed to yourself, knowing full well that Gojo wanted to see more of what you were hiding underneath your outfit. As you stood on your tiptoes, you deliberately arched your back to stick out your rear in his direction.
Gojo trapped his bottom lip between his teeth, humming in approval and deciding in that moment just how he plans on eventually fucking you in this cute outfit of yours.
âA little higherâŠâ he commanded, forcing you to stand on your tiptoes as you âcleanedâ his top shelf, and he felt himself harden against his pants when the fabric of your dress just barely covered your ass.
The minutes passed, dragging slowly until the sorcerer found himself growing impatient. The longer you were making him wait, the more cruel he was planning on delivering his own punishment in return.
âMay I get you some water, Gojo-san?â you asked him, snapping him out of his own thoughts as you made your way over to the kitchen. âYou look a little thirstyâŠâ
Oh yes, he definitely wasnât going to hold himself backâŠ
â PleaseâŠâ he said through gritted teeth.
You made your way over to the kitchen, pulling out one of the random trays he had and placing a glass right in the middle. You fill it up with ice before pouring in the water, then lifting up the tray and making your way over to him.
â Here you goâŠâ you offered, but instead of picking up the glass with your fingers, you deliberately knocked it over, allowing the cool liquid to pour all over Gojoâs lap.
The man hissed, surprised that you caught him off guard yet again with your tactic. The water pooled between his thighs, making his muscles tense up even more.
You captured your bottom lip between your teeth, the goosebumps running up and down your arms when you noticed the outline of his dick against his sweatpants.
Staring at him with your knowing, apologetic eyes, you proceeded to say, âIâm so sorry, let me get something to help you dry upâŠâ
When you returned, you found your place down on your knees in front of him. You pressed the dry towel against his inner thigh, earning a grunt in response because your touch was close to his growing erection.
Your other hand glided up his calf, sending your message across as Gojoâs eyes widened when that same hand replaced the towel.
Fucking finally, he thought, no longer frustrated by his own desire or the fact that he was now soaking wet.
âI can dry these with the rest of the clothesâŠâ you explained, lifting yourself upright on your knees. âIâm going to have to take these off..â
You hooked your hands around the waistband of his sweats, pulling them down his lean legs and removing them.
âWhat about these?â Gojo asked, tilting his head towards his tented boxers. âIâm soaked all the way throughâŠâ
â Uhm⊠of course!â you chirped, as you removed the second article of clothing. âIâll get these dry for you right awayâŠâ
As you tried to stand up, Gojo reached for your forearms and dragged you back down on the rug.
âWhat about this?â he asked, directing your attention towards the length of his swollen cock.
âI-I donât know if I can help you with that,â you teased, averting your gaze as you feigned shyness.
âI pay you to use your hands, donât I?â Gojo questioned.
â Yes, Gojo-san âŠâ
âThen you should do whatever it takes.â
Gojo could have sworn he saw you smirk but you were swift to hide your reaction. You brought your hand to his length as you began to stroke upward, circling your thumb around his swollen tip. Your other hand teasingly traced a vein up and down his shaft, and Gojo exhaled as his body relaxed against his plush sofa.
You squeezed his cock, feeling the width of his hard member as you continued teasing his head. You spread the pre-cum all over the tip, before bringing your lips down and replacing your thumb with your tongue as you swirled around the head before finally sealing your mouth over him.
You gently suck, your cheeks hollowing but you remain focused on just his head. The hand that isnât holding his shaft moved to his thigh, where you gave him an eager squeeze as you tasted him in your mouth.
Meanwhile, Gojo leaned his head back against the sofa, closing his eyes as he hummed with relief. The low rumble of his voice spread down his abdomen, and your ears perked upon hearing his satisfied reaction.
You released him with a pop, before adjusting your position so your forearms were now resting over his thighs.
Gojo was average in thickness but his length definitely made up for it and you wanted to get comfortable before taking him all the way in.
You guided him into your mouth, easing him down inch by inch as you bobbed over his impressive length. Your hands pressed into his thighs, a small whimper escaping you as your teeth grazed lightly over his cock while you expertly worked him.
âYou keep doing this and I might consider increasing your payâŠâ Gojo murmured, half-drunk with arousal as he began losing himself to you.
You quickened your pace, ignoring the discomfort in your jaw as you let him fuck your mouth. Gojo reached his hand to the back of your neck, gently stroking you with his slender fingers as encouragement. His chest began to rise and fall as his breathing grew heavier.
â Keep going âŠâ he coaxed, his voice shaking and growing tender. He rolled his hips in rhythm to your movement while your hands began massaging his legs and working their way high up to his pelvis.
His fingers curled around your hair, your throat burning but you kept going not wanting to disappoint your esteemed employer.
â Mmm , F-fuck⊠â he whined, his words sweet in your ears as he reached his peak.
Gojoâs hips bucked into you and he held you in place, releasing thick ropes of cum in the back of your throat as he moaned.
His grip was tight around your head and you tried not to gag as you swallowed everything he gave you. You slowly retracted him out of your mouth, desperately catching your breath in between small coughs as you settled yourself.
âSuch a beautiful messâŠâ Gojo complimented as he looked down at you from where he was sitting.
Your chin was covered with  your saliva, your perfectly styled hair unraveling from his grip and your smokey eye makeup smudged. Gojo flicked his fingers in his direction, ordering you to get on his lap.
Your knees hurt when you stand up, the cheap fabric of your stockings already wearing from the friction against the rug. You spread your legs as you straddled him, lifting the hem of your dress up as you adjusted your position.
â Well, wellâŠwhat have we here⊠â he cooed when you flashed him. âHold your dress up for meâŠâ
Your face grew hot but you obediently obliged as you bunched up the dress to your waist, giving Gojo a full view of your stockings that covered your bare pussy.
Gojo dragged his index finger along your slit, your arousal stringing on the tip of his finger as he pulled away from you.
You were completely soaked through.
â Do you always show up to work without any underwear on?â he teased, bringing his finger back between your legs  and pushing the material of your stockings between your lips.
âOnly when I know I am seeing youâŠâ you replied seductively.
âIs that so?â Gojo mused, biting his bottom lip as he focused on his finger circling your folds. âHow professionalâŠâ
âActually I'm very unprofessional. I have something to confess, Gojo-san âŠâ you whispered, dropping your dress as you placed your hands on his broad shoulders. You leaned forward, brushing your lips against his ear before stating, ââŠI touch myself whenever youâre not home .â
Gojo froze his movements. You were doing everything he described when talking about this particular fantasy: the hot maid that he comes home to who teases him into fucking her.
Oh, and you were playing the role beautifully. Â
âDid you do that today?â The man questioned, directing it towards you and not the character you were pretending to be.
You giggled in his ear, â twice .â
A deep chuckle rumbled in his chest, his free hand that wasnât between your legs reached for his blindfold. He lifted the fabric, where a pretty blue iris was staring at you with sheer adoration.
â Oh, angel, you continue to surprise meâŠâ
âNone of that, yetâŠâ you announced, covering his eye as you pulled his wrist away. â Weâre still playing, Gojo-san.â
On that reply, Gojo reached for the band of your stockings. He ripped the flimsy fabric with his strong hands, tearing it straight down the middle before picking you up and laying your back against the arm rest.
âIâm going to have to start putting security cameras around the place,â he added, getting back into the role as he slipped off his hoodie. âBut I think I would prefer seeing you with my own eyesâŠâ
He instantly noticed the way you checked him out, your gaze hungry for his body. He lifted up your dress, bunching it up at the waist to reveal your torn undergarment. Your sweet pussy was glistening with your arousal and Gojo licked his lips with anticipation. He raised one of your legs over the sofa, leaving the other  to dangle off the side and exposing you completely to him.
â Touch yourself.â
You brought your fingers to your fold, working your throbbing clit as you closed your eyes. Your body was electric, riled up to the point where you were already so sensitive as you rubbed yourself. Soft whimpers left your lips and Gojo held your knees apart as he watched you masturbate.
âAre you always this quiet?â He teased, âA dirty slut like you begging to be fuckedâŠIâm sure you get louder than thatâŠâ
If you werenât so heated by everything that was going on, you would have been caught off guard by what he was saying but instead you moaned at his derogatory words.
The character you were playing began blending in his mind with your own person, his dear friend, and the thought of you eagerly pleasing him made the blood rush between his legs, his arousal making him harden again.
âYou hear that?â Gojo continued, knowing full well how much you enjoy his dirty talk and pointing out the way your pussy squelched as your fingers drove themselves inside you. âYouâre so fucking wet and I hardly even touched you. Are you that needy already? Are you that desperate for someone to fuck this pussy of yours?â
âY-yesâŠâ
âDo you call out my name when you make yourself come? Do you beg for it?â
â Mmmm, yes, Gojo-sanâŠwant you so bad âŠâ
âIf you want me to fuck you, you little slut , youâre going to have to tell me how much you want itâŠâ
You gasped, your free hand reaching to massage your breast over your uniform as you finally opened your hazy eyes to meet Gojoâs. Your heart was racing, your body gyrating against his sofa as you slipped your fingers between your folds.
â Mmahh, Gojo-san, I want you to fuck me on this couch. I want to feel you inside me. P-please, I need you inside meâŠso fucking badâŠI canâtâŠI ca-â you voice pitched as you increased the speed of your movements, rolling your hips in circles and your dropped your head back against the arm rest.
You came all over your fingers, your orgasm hitting you hard, as you sang your noises of pleasure. You were trembling against the chair, panting heavily as you pulled your fingers from between your legs.
Gojo flipped you on your stomach, unable to hold himself back any longer. Your hands were on the arm rest, your knees pressed into the plush cushion as you spread yourself as wide as you could for him. Usually, Gojo would enjoy taking this time to lick your sweet cunt clean but he was barely holding on himself after what he witnessed.
The tip of his cock teased your lips, before he slipped himself inside you with ease, coating his entire length with your arousal. Your eyes widened as you looked at him over your shoulder with slight panic.
âSatoru, youâre not wearing aâŠâ
âIâll pull outâŠâ he replied, holding your hips up before snapping roughly into you.
You were dizzy, completely functioning on your urges without giving logic any thought. If it was anyone else, you would have stopped but Gojo wasnât just anybody and the man had quite the control over his own body.
You cried out feeling your walls clench around him. He was moving hard and fast, fucking you roughly on his sofa, with every push harder than the last and leaving your legs trembling as you tried your best to hold yourself in place for him.
He drags his length out of you, ensuring that you felt every inch before wildly plunging back inside. You could feel yourself dripping down your thighs against your stockings, your nails digging into the sofa as you whimpered.
Your drenched cunt made it so much easier for Gojo to fuck you but his slightly sadistic mind was forcing you to feel it more.
Your toes curled inside your pointed heels, your back arching as speckles of black clouded your vision. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as your hips jerked when your orgasm compounded into you, making you drop down to your forearms as you were unable to counter your explosive release.
Gojo was covered in your juices and with a few sloppy thrusts he finally pulled himself out before finishing himself off by pumping spurts of cum all over your back, decorating your outfit with his release.
The man didnât stop there. Instead, he flipped you onto your back bringing his hands to the buttons of the top half of your dress and ripping it apart.
Your chest was bare, covered in a bra that he tugged down until it was resting underneath your breasts. He brought his insatiable lips to your mound, rolling your pointed nipple between his thumb and index finger before closing his mouth over the other nub.
You were shaking underneath him, unable to handle any more stimulation as he pinched one nipple and peppered the other with kitten licks.
Gojo did it until he was hard again, leaving marks all over your breasts as he pushed himself inside you. He held your legs apart but you barely had anymore energy to keep up with him. Instead you kept him motivated with your pleasured mewls, praising him for all his glory.
â Harder, pleaseâŠharderâŠ.â
Gojo stopped, holding himself inside you and feeling you pulsate against him. He ensured to drag the seconds out making you whimper with impatience as you were desperate to have him continue.
â Gojo-saaanâŠâ you pleaded, tears pricking  your eyes as you wailed for mercy. âDonât stop fucking-ahhhhhhh âŠâ
You couldnât even finish until he was thrusting inside you again. Fucking you to the heavens and back with the same intensity he did earlier. When he pulled out of you as he climaxed, he finished himself off all over your cunt, marking you with his essence.
***
Steam covered the glass door surrounding you, the warmth engulfing your body as you and Gojo stood in the hot shower together. Your body was sore but in the most pleasant way possible and you allowed the water droplets to massage your skin, closing your eyes as you exhaled and enjoying the amazing pressure from Gojoâs  shower.
You only opened your eyes when you felt Gojoâs large palm on your stomach, bringing you into his torso as he leaned down and kissed your ear.
âDid you have fun?â
The knot in the pit of your stomach twisted, sending shivers down your back from his question. He treated you with so much kindness after you both slept together. He sang you praises, telling you over and over how good you were to him as he took his time to clean you up, not allowing you to even lift a single finger while he used the time to focus on taking care of you instead.
You turned around to face him, your eyes gazing up at that unjustifiably handsome face that was uncovered because he had his hair slicked back.
âSurprisingly, I didâŠâ you teased with a smile, placing your hands on him, as you delicately traced your fingers up and down his forearms.
His height was overbearing now that you didnât have your heels on, and the sorcerer found himself tilting down just to look at you. His fingers pressed into your lower back as the silence filled the space between you both. Gojo used it as an opportunity to bring his lips down to meet yours, indulging himself with a kiss. He picked you up in his strong arms, before holding you against the grey tile of his bathroom wall. You moaned into his mouth, playing with his tongue as your hands reached for his neck.
âSo, tell me, angel⊠â he whispered into your mouth in between a kiss. âWhat kind of fantasies do you have?â
âUhm, I donât really have any fantasiesâŠâ
You felt his fingers underneath your chin, tilting your head back so you were looking him in the eye.
âYou know, if you tell me , I can return the favorâŠâ he stated, flashing his pearly whites as he gave you an easy grin.
âYouâll think itâs stupidâŠâ
âTry me.â
You rested your head against the tile, playing with the back of Gojoâs hair as you cleared your throat.
âUhm, so , back in college there was this professor that I had. He was extremely good looking, I think everybody in our class had a crush on him. I realised I did too because everytime I would try speaking with him, I always jumbled up my words or said the wrong thing. It was super awkwardâŠI mean, he wasnât awkward but I definitely wasâŠâ Â
A small laugh escaped you but Gojo was still listening attentively.
âAnyway, I never told anyone. I was with Haru and always felt like I was being a terrible girlfriend because I was just so attracted to my professor. He was also the sweetest guy, was married and had three kidsâŠâ you sighed as Gojo grazed his hand across your thigh, blushing before admitting, ââŠbut I used to think about him taking me on his desk all the time. Like, it got to the point where I had to drop his class because he was too much of a distractionâŠâ
Gojo chuckled, âoh, you dirty slu-OW!â
You tugged at his earlobe, pouting to stop yourself from laughing at his snide comment.
âThatâs what you get,â you replied, before loosening your grip and dropping your hand to his pecs.
âRelax, it takes a slut to know one. There is no need to get offended!â he teased, shifting the joke onto himself and you couldnât help but giggle. âOkay, so youâve got a little thing for a teacher/student scenario?â
âJust a littleâŠâ
Gojo brought his lips to your neck, planting small kisses upwards until he murmured against your ear.
âAs a teacher myself, it will be my utmost pleasure to be your sensei for an evening,â
âYou donât have toâŠâ
âYou're not forcing me, angel. I want to,â Gojo insisted, his lips now hovering above yours. âBesides, Iâm your friend, right ? We take care of each other, thatâs what friends do.â
You nodded in agreement, your eyes dropping down to his lips as you patiently waited to taste him on your tongue.
âSince you did a stellar job with me tonight, let me do the same for you⊠â he whispered, taking your bottom lip between his teeth and nipping at it gently.
You squeezed your legs tighter around his torso as you held him close, feeling faint when Gojo kissed you again like he was pulling the oxygen straight out of your lungs.
And yet, you had no desire to let him go.

For the requestsâ what about a family trip to the beach with Purgatory Hall + the royals and MC? Like Simeon and Barbatos setting up a picnic table meanwhile MC and Luke play around in the sand searching for shiny or strange things to building a sand castle (everything also keeping Solomon and Diavolo far from the preparations for the picnic)â playing with water guns or swimming. And after eating maybe playing a match of volleyball sand, admiring the sunset till it's nigth time and before going backâ playing with fireworks, do a little stargazing or something--
Feel free to ignore this and thanks in advance anyway~
FINALLY I've come to write something for this lovely request. It's packed with so many fun ideas that I kinda went overboard with it xD this means the story is so big I'll have to split it into two posts!
To Bisshitu: I wanted to thank you for your continuous support! I see you in my notifs a lot and I really appreciate it!! (ALSO I AM SO SORRY YOU'VE WAITED SO LONG I HOPE YOU WILL STILL ENJOY THIS CHAOS)
Literally just 13 idiots on a beach trip~
Part 1
MC was leaning against one of the walls in the giant entrance halls of the House of Lamentation. Standing next to them, Solomon handed MC an opened bag of spicy newt chips. "Want some?" He asked and MC gladly took a few while constantly watching the commotion that was going on in the rest of the hallway.
Who would've guessed that going on a vacation with the seven rulers of hell would involve the most panicked, loud and chaotic packing of bags to have ever existed?
Well, let's be real, MC did expect it, but maybe not to the degree that they were in amusement about now.
The oldest brother had called the others for a "luggage check" as he had been sceptical of his brothers' talents in packing reasonable items in an, likewise reasonable, amount of suitcases and bags.
And of course, the first one to show up had to present his luggage in the form of... nothing.
Yes, Beelzebub came up to Lucifer, only the remains of a sandwich in his hand (which didn't last longer than three more seconds), confused when Lucifer mustered him with an angered glance.
"Where's your luggage?" Lucifer asked, to which Beel only gave a shrug.
"We're going to the beach, right? Which means I'll only need my swimming trunks, and I wear those underneath my pants."
Now the confusion has wandered over to rest on Lucifer's face. "But... Won't you need clothes to change into, or at least pyjamas for the night?"
"Hm..." Beel scratched the back of his head while thinking about Lucifer's words. "Nah, I don't need those. I'm planning to stay at the beach all the time, so..." Then suddenly, he gasped as he remembered something. "Wait, I do have something else prepared to bring along!"
Beel reached into his pocket, and when he pulled out a hand-written list that unrolled itself, plonking onto the carpet and rolling all the way to Lucifer's feet, the avatar of Pride knew exactly what said list was going to be.
"There are a few food stands that I'd like to try out..." Beel announced, eyeing the paper. "First of all, there's one selling shaved ice, which I want to compare to the ice-cream from this other stand, but who's also selling parfaits of which I kind of want to try all twenty-five flavours... Also then there's of course-"
"Beel" Lucifer interrupted the avatar of Gluttony in a strict tone. "Go pack a proper bag."
"But-"
"Now."
Letting out a sigh, Lucifer watched as Beel left.
But little did he know, this had only been the beginning of the chaos...
Moments later, Lucifer has found himself explaining to Satan why taking 70 different books with him would be ridiculously much. Also Mammon had taken this opportunity to "lend" some of his brothers possessions, arguing that he "needed those for the beach". This had worked until his swift fingers touched Levi's limited edition Ruri-chan sunscreen.
So, as Lucifer was spam-calling Belphie to wake him up and finally have him start packing, a sudden argument could be heard from upstairs:
"... How dare you steal my precious Hana Ruri 'magical sun ray protective lotion for all blooming heroes of justice'?! This very sunscreen is an homage to the legendary beach episode where Azuki-tan got a sunburn and couldn't help Ruri-chan in the intense battle against the evil kelp-army that was threatening to overgrow the local reef-"
"OKAY OKAY, HERE'S YOUR STUPID CREAM NOW LEAVE ME ALONE"
"S-STUPID CREAM?!?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW PRECIOUS THIS ITEM IS TO A FAN LIKE-"
That was all Lucifer could understand as an awfully annoyed scream Mammon let out was drowning Levi's gibberish. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, Lucifer knew this vacation was going to be one intense experience...
An hour later, the group found itself where this little story had started off. The Purgatory Hall crew had already arrived long ago, enjoying the chaos together with MC -- who, btw, had been the only one to pass Lucifer's vibe luggage check right away.
Slowly it felt like most of the brothers were ready to go, only Asmodeus was left in the judgemental glare of the avatar of Pride.
But Lucifer noticed they already were way behind the time they were supposed to meet Diavolo at his castle. So, to Asmo's luck, he let off of trying to see what's inside the pretty boy's suitcase and announced the group's departure.
In enthusiasm shared by almost everyone, they let out a big cheer:
"Off to the beach we go!"
Some of the demons had whined about wanting to visit the human world beach. But as those idiot boys literally couldn't be trusted to act responsibly (which is okay, we love them regardless), Diavolo offered to stay at the beach resort he created in the Devildom.
Looking over the endless ocean, surrounded by the equally large beach and glistening in an artificial sun's light, MC was wondering just how powerful the demon prince must be to have created all this. But they were left only little time to be in awe over the location, as their friends demanded their attention shortly after having arrived.
Without going into much detail -- the day was packed with lots and lots of fun. MC was running around the beach, playing and goofing around with their friends, only to take a collective rest and then go do something silly again. Only a few other demons were to be found at the resort, but those were some acquaintances of Diavolo's family, and the group seemed to have scared them off of the beach after, like, an hour or so. Hence, the whole beach served as their playground for whatever activity they wanted to do, until in the afternoon, most of them were about to collapse from exhaustion and hunger.
"That's right, we didn't really have a proper meal since coming here" Asmo noticed as several tummy grumbles undermined his statement.
"We DID bring a picnic basket..." Satan mumbled. "But some genius had to let Beel carry it."
The culprit gave an immediate pout. "I had to hurry, 'kay?!" Mammon huffed. "MC was already at the beach and I--" he stopped. "... U-uh... I mean..."
Gaining a round of sighs and shaking heads, his brothers however decided to let Mammon's... mammon-ness slide for once. Mostly because, approaching from the distance, Barbatos and Solomon were getting closer, their hands full with bags that seemed to be stuffed with food.
"Y-yoU BroUGhT S-nAcKs?!" Beelzebub was already on his feet running towards them but Barbatos' stare was actually enough to make him stop.
"Not before the dishes are prepared, Beelzebub" Barbatos explained calmly, but with this very weird hidden tone in his voice that gave everyone chills despite the scorching summer heat.
"We figured everyone must be starving by now, so Barbatos suggested we'd make a little picnic party with everyone" Solomon cheered, presenting the bags in his hands.
"That sounds lovely" Simeon could be heard among the general noise of approval. "Let me help you prepare everything, Barbatos."
The demon butler beamed him a smile, thanking the angel for his help.
Then, Solomon spoke up again, and every bit of joy vanished from all their faces: "Thank you, Simeon! With the three of us working together the food will be ready in no time!"
--------------
Barbatos was putting all kinds of spices into a bowl to create a delicious sauce. Right next to him, Simeon prepared mouth-watering sandwiches.
And behind their back, there was this chopping sound. Chop reaching their chop ears in an chop never- chop ending thread, over and chop over again...
Swallowing his tension, Simeon was fighting a frown. "He's only cutting the fruits..." He whispered. "You shouldn't be able to mess up a fruit salad..."
"I know" Barbatos mumbled back. "However I cannot fight this unease that urges me to check if he's really-" He was interrupted by a very unsettling "oops" coming from that certain sorcerer at the cutting board.
In honestly quicker than the blink of an eye Simeon and Barbatos were at Solomon's side, frantically scanning the table for whatever Solomon must've messed up. When all they found were slices of fruit that, well, might have been chopped a bit wonky, they gave Solomon a confused stare.
"I cut off too much of this poor Hellberry's pull" Solomon explained. "Oh well, I'll just cut around the stem and add it to the fruit salad like this."
Both Barbatos and Simeon couldn't help but stare for a moment longer, their brains not really comprehending NOT finding an abomination in Solomon's cooking.
"Can I help you two with anything?" The sorcerer then asked.
"U-uhm, no..." Simeon mumbled. "It's all fine, we just..."
"We wanted to see if there's anything we can help you with" Barbatos jumped in to continue.
"Thanks, but I'm fine. Actually I'm almost finished, so maybe I can help one of you afterw-"
"Nononononono...!" Simeon almost whined. "I-its fine! We're actually almost finished ourselves, so..."
Solomon looked back, raising an eyebrow. "Doesn't look like it to me..."
Suddenly, another voice joined the group.
"I agree! You two are likely just being humble again" Diavolo had walked up to their working station a moment ago, but neither of them seemed to have noticed in their stress. The prince continued: "That's why I decided to lend you a hand as well. This is a vacation for all of us, so I should not burden my loyal butler with all the work."
"That's a commendable attitude for royalty like yourself" Solomon cheered. "Well then, I think Simeon and Barbatos could use a hand."
Diavolo was already squeezing his quite broad body into the tiny cooking space, this certain over-excited sparkle in his eyes as he mustered the food.
Barbatos and Simeon on the other hand were exchanging glances, so immensely stressed that their thoughts were almost audible:
'Barbatos I don't think I can handle any more of this stress' Simeon stared.
'We shouldn't have let Solomon help in the first place, our kindness was foolish' Barbatos stared back.
'What do we do now Barbatos this is the only food we have left, they cannot ruin it'
Thankfully, the perfect butler was not planning to let their "help" threaten the food for any longer. "Young master, I highly appreciate that you thought of my well-being. Which is why I indeed have a request for you and Solomon."
Simeon almost barged in on a frightened impulse, but Barbatos continued before anyone could raise their voice. "There is dessert stored in our hotel's main storage. Would you be so kind and bring enough for our whole group?"
A little surprised, Diavolo agreed. He waited for Solomon to finish cutting the fruits, then they went off to the hotel.
Finally able to catch a breath, Simeon shot Barbatos a last glance. "That was easier than expected. Why didn't we let Solomon bring the desserts earlier?"
Back to mixing spices, Barbatos didn't look up at the question. "What desserts?" He simply asked.
"... Uhm..." Simeon was quite startled. "Are there... Are there no desserts in the storage room...?"
"Oh, I sure hope there are" Barbatos said. "Otherwise I will have some explaining to do..."

The Missing Piece - Little moments in the library.
Cordelia Goode x Wilhemina Venable x reader
If you haven't read the Mystery woman series, the link for it are below.Â
The Mystery woman part 1, part 2, part 3
Warning : none really. A little tiny mention not so innocent thoughts.Â
will be edited sooner or later.Â
This is part 2. Part ones link is below.
Part 1Â
The best part of the academy is the library, the shelves filled with many different types of literature, ranging from the classics to modern-day literature. There was a shelf dedicated to magic books, only the simplest books, however, the more complex books were in Cordelia's office for obvious reasons. You also appreciated the little details, unlike the academy's halls and main rooms it wasn't minimalistic. The room was heavily furnished, with a couple of tables and chairs around the room and paintings that were centuries old on the wall. The room was magnificent, the most superior part of the room is the fireplace, it was placed in the centre of the furthest wall. Your favourites spot was the corner of one of the three-seater sofas, close to the fireplace, of course. It wasn't a popular place for the more youthful students, you do spot the odd bookworm in the corner of the room reading. You might spot Zoe deep in a book. When you do, you would join her, and silently read.
That's what happened, you had joined Zoe in the library. However, she was dragged away by Madison a couple of minutes ago and now you were alone. It wasn't like you were complaining, you enjoyed your own company. It didn't last long as a heavy shut of the doors snaps you out of your calm and silent state. Wilhemina steps out of the shadows with a book pressed against her chest, with a tight lip smile as she sees you. She settles on the opposite sofa to you. You glue your eyes back on the page you were currently reading, however, in your peripheral vision, you see her settle her cane against the table next to her. She flexes her hand out a little, almost as it became stiff due to holding the came for long periods. What you didn't know was that your thoughts were a little correct, her back had been unbearable today making her hold her cane more tightly than usual. Her knuckles were almost too white at the grip she had on the cane. The tension in her back was very similar to someone repeatedly poking it with a hot pipe, despite the fact that she hadn't gone through that suffering. It seemed her body had decided to torture her today. You overhear her take a deep breath out before opening the book. The heat of the fire gives her an orange hue which made her hair more vibrant. You can see the various colours of orange and red in her hair, it was extremely similar to the sun. Tempting to touch but too hot to.
Shaking your head out of your thoughts, you go back to reading your book. After, a couple of page-turning you feel a pair of eyes on you. Looking up you see the redhead observing you, offering her a gentle smile. "Yes?" You question, wanting to know the reason for her looking. "Nothing, Ms L/N" Shaking your head at the formalities."Y/N."You correct her."Huh?"She mutters."Y/N. My name is Y/N, not Ms. I've told you to call me Y/N."You say daringly. A smirk graces her lips, she tilts her head a little, studying your reaction. "Well, Y/N. I will remind you that I know your name, I just like teasing you."Your eyes widen a fraction, heat graces your face. The book in your hand long forgotten as you stare at the woman across from you. She was staring intensely into your eyes, a wicked smirk gracing her lips.
Wilhemina went back to reading, the smirk still on display. Focusing your eyes back on the abandoned book in your hands. The words on the page, mixed together in a jumble, nothing making sense. You try hard to focus on the words on the page, but nothing works. You quite enjoyed this side of Wilhemina, the calm and teasing side of her It was unexpected of her to joke around.
Perking up a little bit you hear a set of recognisable footsteps outside the door. A second later the doors open, the supreme walks in with a tray. She looks up a little startled seeing you. There was a little hesitation before she comes further into the room, you send Cordelia a gentle smile. The small glow of the fire coats your skin in a rosy glow, Cordelia thinks it makes you look like you are bathing in the sunlight. There was a gentle look on her face as she stares at your sitting figure for a few seconds before placing the tray on the coffee table in front of you. Her eyes catching Wilheminas stare, a twinkle of mischief in Wilheminas brown orbs. On the tray are two cups, a hot steaming teapot, milk jug and sugar cubes tray. "I'll be a minute. I'm going to get another cup for you Y/N." Cordelia flashes the two of you a smile, your try to decline but she sends a playful glare to you.
There were a few awkward glances from you and Wilhemina when Cordelia left. Wilhemina glances down to the book laid on her lap, her fingertips tracing against the spine of the book. Your eyes follow the simple strokes of her fingers, wondering what else they could do. Wilhemina can see your eyes following her fingers, she knew how distracted you can get at them. She has seen you stare at them a couple of times around the Academy, desperately wanting to know what thoughts were going on through you head.
They halt as the door opens again, the blonde strutting in with a cup in her hand. She places it on the tray with the others, she holds eyes contact with the redhead for longer than necessary, almost as if they were having a silent conversation. Cordelia settles down next to you, a smirk gracing her lips, very similar to Wilehminas smirk across from you.
"Is it okay if you read to me, Y/N?" Cordelia questions softly. "I've always wanted to read that particular book and since you are reading it, do you mind if you read to me ?" She adds, a lip toyed between her teeth as she observes your reaction. You hum. "Sure." You shift a little in your seat, gazing at the blonde next to you. Wilhemina leaned forward a little pouring herself a cup of English tea, her hands stilled before she decided to pour the other cups with tea. There was a little wince as Wilhemina moves, you decided not to say anything knowing very little about her pain. She lifts the other jug with milk and pours a small amount of milk in her tea, followed by three sugar cubes. A crackle of the firewoods shakes you out of trance, locking your eyes with the redhead. She gives you a tight lipped smile. Cordelia nudges forwards too, doing the same, she pours a hefty amount of milk in her tea followed by two sugar cubes. Noticing the differences of each of their taste in tea, one liked it strong but sweet, the other weak but and not sweet. They almost complimented each other, having complete opposite preference in tea. "How do you prefer your tea, dear?" Cordelia asks, a fond smile on her lips as the fire glows in her brown orbs. "Not too milky and not too strong and two sugars, please." She follows your demands, you watch Wilhemina brings the cup to her lips, she blows at it a little before taking a sip. A hum slips from her lips, and an unexpected smile tugs at them.
Some movements from the side of you catches your attention. Cordelia sits back down further into the sofa, she shifted a little bit closer to you, a couple of inches away. A blanket lays across her legs and the cup in between her delicate hands. "Whenever you are ready, dear." She says before resting her head against the back of the sofa. You capture Wilehminas eyes, not wanting to disturb her reading, her eyes meeting yours, you silently ask if it was okay. She nods her head a little, before directing her eyes on the blonde and smirks. "Okay then..."
The words on the page escape your mouth, each sentence producing an image in Cordelia's minds. The image played the scene in great detail, her eyes closed, distracted by your voice. It was smooth and sweet, a lot like honey. It was addictive, it made her crave more wanting to hear it for the rest of her life. Wilhemina had also become distracted by your voice, watching your mouth form each separate word. The way the words were formed from your lips captivated her, much like Cordelia she found your voice soothing. Cordelia's head tilted a little closer to your shoulder. You shivered a little, not because you were cold but due to how close the blonde was. Wilhemina had witnessed this, she was hoping that Cordelia had noticed too, Wilhemina had noticed a little shake in your voice, from the smirk on Cordelia's lip, she had noticed too. As one would expect, she did, this was her plan after all. "Are you cold, Y/N?" Cordelia softly interrupts.
You didn't want to admit being nervous around them, so you nodded a little, which you regretted because the blonde scoots closer to you placing the woolly blanket over your lap, a heavyweight landed on your shoulder. Glancing there an eye full of blonde hair greets your eyes, you could smell the coconut shampoo and the whiff of earthiness, it warmed your insides. Wilhemina observes the interaction, she could tell that they were affecting you, and pride filled her up, confident that you felt something between them. "Carry on, dear." The words were shaky, and you were hoping that they couldn't tell, which sadly they did.
You were concluding the chapter when you stopped to release a yawn. "I'm gonna end it here Cordelia. If that's okay with you?" You say, exhaustion visible on your features. Wilhemina sees it, the little twitch in your left eyes and the slow blinking. She had abandoned her book a couple of minutes after you began to read. , it captured her attention and she enjoyed how your voice mimics the characters bringing the story to life.
"Yes, that's fine, dear," Cordelia claims, breaking Wilhemina's attention from you. She was reaching down for her cup, a frown making its way on her face when she realises there was none left. You placed a bookmark on the page you stopped at, placing the book on the coffee table you start to stand up. There was a round of cracking echoing in the room, being in the same position for longer than expected caused your body to stiffen.
"Goodnight, Cordelia. Goodnight, Wilhemina." You gently say, facing each woman, a kind smile from Cordelia and a less stern expression from the Wilhemina. "Goodnight, dear," Cordelia replies, equally soft. "Goodnight, Ms L/N," Wilhemina says, a smirk gracing her lips as she notes your narrowed eyes. Cordelia gives Wilhemina a little questionable look, which Wilhemina brushes off. "Ms Venable, I've told you before. Don't make me say it again." You rasp out, Wilhemina's eyes widen a fraction. The tip of her tongue pokes out, licking her dry lips. Her teeth toy with her bottom lip before she lets it go, it stirred something inside her. The way you spoken with confidence. Walking away with a smirk on your lips you hear a little shuffling. "As I've said before Ms L/N, I like teasing you."
Once the library door closes, you take deep breaths, in and out desperately trying to even out the fast beating in your heart, your legs have a mind on their own as they carry you to your bedroom. A smile settles on your face as you think about the feeling of Cordelia's head against your shoulder, feeling her body heat against you and Wilhemina's intense gaze on you. It made you feel warm. You knew when you were reading that Wilhemina had stopped reading her book and concentrated on you. The atmosphere moments ago was intense when you spoke to Wilhemina. Her words repeating themselves inside your mind. She liked teasing you.
When you left the library, you missed a certain blonde moving to the side of Wilhemina. She curls into Wilhemina , snuggling against her neck placing a light kiss against it. "When do we tell her ?" Cordelia whisper against Wilhemina neck. "Soon, little one. Soon."

Sk8 headcannons because brainrot pt. 2
- everything Reki has ever taught himself has been because of the wonderful world of YouTube tutorials
- Kojiro wanted to get his ears pierced in highschool like Kaoru, but he didn't do it because he was afraid of tarnishing his image (which is ironic when he gets a massive tattoo later in life)
- Langa doesn't like cats because he thinks they're mean
- thereâs a stray cat that lives near Langaâs house and even though he doesnât like cats, he leaves out milk and some fish for it sometimes because he feels bad
- Langa has never had a pet except a goldfish he won at a carnival once that he managed to keep alive for four years somehow.
- Kaoru technically needed glasses in high school, but he didn't wear them because he just didn't care at the time (until his vision grew poor enough that it affected his skating)
- Miya gets called a furry by Reki on the daily
- Reki has some knowledge in video editing and has considered starting a YouTube channel
- Langa has a diary, something he started after his father died. At first he didn't really know what to write, so he would just talk about his day, but eventually he got to the emotions part. The diary was especially useful during his fight with Reki in which he was trying to figure out his emotions (it was also useful when he realized he might have an itty bitty crush on his best friend)
- Joe is the biggest dad friend of the group in terms of doting on the kids and giving advice and stuff. Both Reki and Langa come to him often for advice, and Miya hangs around his restaurant a lot.
- Langa has one (1) succulent that he has managed to keep alive for three years. Its name is Gary, and it may not be the prettiest, but it is not dead yet!
- Reki never tells his mother when Langa is coming over and she's trained herself to just expect a lanky Canadian to be wandering around her house at any time.
- It took Kojiro a really long time to figure out his sexuality (and that's valid!!)
- Hiromi has been hopelessly in love with his manager for three years and has tried on multiple occasions to confess to her, but either something interrupts them or there's some sort of misunderstanding about it. Those are his more violent nights at "S".
- After befriending Reki, Langa and Miya, Hiromi is a little more careful about his tools of sabotage during beefs (and he lowkey feels guilty for injuring Reki in the beginning)
- Kaoru and Reki are actually closer than one might think. Reki ends up asking him for advice just as much as he asks Kojiro.
- Reki can't do something mundane without his ears being occupied. He ends up listening to music or podcasts a lot when he does chores or is working on a board alone (but if Langa is there with him, he'll talk his ear off instead).
- Miya's family isn't particularly bad, they're just a little distant. They assume everything is okay because Miya's so successful with school and skating, and they trust his integrity (which makes it very easy for him to sneak out to "S"). He doesn't really talk to them (or anyone, really) about his struggles.
- When Miya and Koyomi meet, he shows her all his video games and suddenly Reki's little sister is a gamer girl
- Langa almost wore a long-sleeved top to the beach and Reki had to go make him change before they left ("you'll melt in that, are you crazy?!")
- Kojiro knew damn well that Kaoru had a business trip and that the gang was going to the beach, but all other parties were unaware. He just decided to tag along as to not be left out.
- Kaoru trims his own hair, as he finds salons to be ridiculously overpriced for those with long hair
- Reki dogsits for his next door neighbor sometimes, they have a shiba named Onigiri (rice ball).
- Kojiroâs pennant was a gift from Kaoru and he wears it literally all the time except in water (so it doesnât get ruined)
- Rekiâs father is pretty absent, so Oka takes it upon himself to look after him
- Langa occasionally picks up odd jobs in order to help his mom out with finances
- Langaâs favorite animal is dolphins. He had a phase as a child where he read like fifty dolphin books and it was his entire personality for a few months. Despite this, he has never actually seen a dolphin irl
- Reki takes really good care of his nails and Langa⊠does not. He bites them and it annoys the shit out of Reki to the point where heâs just like âplease⊠just let me file them for youâ and Langa relents despite the fact that he hates the sensation of getting his nails filed
- Reki sometimes talks to Langa about getting depressed and one time Langa is like âyeah I getchuâ and Reki is just like âheh?â And Langa says âI mean my dad died and I was in counseling for like months after that before I came hereâ and Reki is just like âohâ
- Langa is Rekiâs bi awakening and it takes him a hot second to figure that out
- sometimes Langa pretends to be more oblivious than he is, either for shits and giggles, or to obtain information
- Kaoru knows exactly how to seduce women, and occasionally uses this to his advantage. It just sucks because heâs not into women.
- Reki is super observant, but whenever Langa does something thatâs an indication that he likes Reki, heâs just like âWELL MAYBE IM OVERANALYZING THIS CANT BE REAL-â
- Langa (in general) doesnât feel the need to be super secretive about anything. Heâs honest (sometimes brutally so) and doesnât always think twice before he says something. This can be both good and bad depending on the context.
- Reki doesnât sleep a lot. He literally has to go to bed past midnight, he absolutely cannot fall asleep earlier. He gets up at 6:30am every day of the week, even weekends. Itâs just how heâs programmed.
- Kojiro used to go to the public gym before Kaoru commented about how unsanitary that was. Ever since then he got freaked out about going to public gyms (especially as someone who works in food services) and cancelled his membership. He bought his own equipment and works out on his own now
- Reki knows how to do rainbow loom. His sisters had a phase with it.
- Kojiro drew on himself with pen when he was bored in school.
- Miya has a habit of eavesdropping on conversations heâs not meant to hear

You wake up on your ex's fire escape; wc 2.5k
A/N: I don't really know how to categorize this ? starts as funny, gets into angst with a happy/hopeful ending. I might write this again for another character and make it 0 angst but using Megumi just let this get away from me. Thank you @sixeyesgojo for reading through my first draft, it helped me edit a lot since đ. Although I have not looked over the ending since I wrote it, I'm done working on this fic so sorry if it falls flat.
CW: Mentions of excessive alcohol consumption.
Suggested listening: song 1 and song 2 you can pick just one to cater your experience (they are VERY different vibes) or switch over around the shampoo situation.
Objectively, there were good ways to wake up. In the arms of a beautiful person, with cold sheets and a warm body, or with the scent of your favourite breakfast wafting through the air. No disrespect to mornings at all, there were good ways to wake up, you were mature enough to recognize this.
A perplexingly rough, wet, and warm sensation gliding across your cheek, while last nightâs jeans dug into your waist, and there was a pounding in your head? It was fairly safe to say this was not a good way to wake up.
It spoke volumes for how out of it you were that it was only just beginning to register in your brain that you werenât at home, you were not even on a bed, and that the continued licks across your face were the work of animal far too large to be one of your friends cats.
âFucking hell youâre supposed to be intimidatingâ you hear a voice grumble without much heat behind it.
As you forced your eyes open you are met with an excited dog tapping its paws in excitement of your presence, and the man behind the half hearted grumble. His gaze was unmistakably familiar, but his expression could not be more foreign to you.
âuhm, Hiâ you croaked out while plastering a wide grin in hopes he wouldnât murder you.
His eyebrow raised on instinct in response. You knew he was waiting for you to explain what you were doing, but the reality was you didnât have an answer.
âI wish I could explain, but honestly Iâm not sure what happened â last thing I remember was being bought another shot⊠Wait, where am I exactly?â You were desperately hoping you came off as charming instead of pathetic given the circumstances.
âHow out of it are you?â he scrunched his face in confusion as he muttered to himself. âYouâre on my fire escape, itâs in Ikebukuro? Tokyo⊠Japan, in case you needed the reminderâ
It felt infantilizing to have him scold you like this, which only made this next part all the more difficult. You were not supposed to be Ikebukuro. You were not supposed to be in Tokyo. You were supposed to be in Yokohama. What was even more concerning is that you were definitely not supposed to be on your old fire escape, the one connected to the apartment your ex still lived in.
As you painstakingly pushed yourself upright, a warm weight laid on your upper thigh, a furry face nuzzling into your stomach â you wondered if she was aware of tension between you and her owner. You scratched behind her ears, letting Jade know she was in fact a good girl despite the earlier reprimand from her owner.
As much as youâd love to spend the day sitting on a fire escape petting your exâs dog, you had to go home, you just need to call â
Your phone. Where was your phone? You felt around frantically for your phone, only to come up with nothing. A light sense of panic bubbles in the pit of your stomach, only to be swiftly interrupted.
âitâs already charging, I plugged it in last night, you dropped in inches away from falling downâ
So, he was still watching you despite having returned inside long ago. It was difficult for you to parse this sort of gesture, how caring could it be to plug someoneâs phone in when you still left them to sleep outside? Maybe he was just doing everything he could to get rid of you. It was too much to try and analyze for someone who blacked out and woke up in a different city.
âWhy did you come here?â you hear him bite out from inside. It sounds harsh, but it feels like his stange way of inviting you inside.
âI donât know what youâve picked up from these circumstances, but not knowing is kind of a part of the problem. Believe me, thereâs no amount of conscious desperation that would leaf me to sleeping on a fire escape, even yoursâ
You glanced around the apartment to avoid his void expression; it was spotless. But it was even harder noticing, the turned over picture frames, your favourite quilt still on the back of the couch â remnants of the past living in the present.
This tension only increased as a mug of freshly brewed green tea was placed in front of you. How thoughtful to remember you hated coffee, to realize your throat was probably killing you â you would have tasted a creeping bitterness from all these emotions, if it wasnât overpowered by what was the distinct taste of your favourite brand that had to be special ordered.
He had always complained, there were plenty of good options for tea at the grocery store, why wasnât that enough for you? It was so much extra effort to special order from a tea shop across town, the only place that you were able to charm the owner into ordering for you.
âHow are you still so fucking awful at taking care of yourself?â he spat the words out like an insult, it was jarring honestly. Despite the time away from each other, it was no less strange to feel his detachment.
He moved towards the door beckoning Jade to follow. âThereâs a towel and change of clothes in the bathroom, you should probably take a shower. If Iâm not back by the time you leave, just lock up before you go, I havenât moved the spare key.â Without looking back or waiting for a response he left.
You were starting to recognize your growing frustration â you had known him how long? Dated and lived together for a not-insignificant amount of time? Yet here you were, no idea how to interpret this strange morning, much less his last comment. Did he want you to be here when he returned? Were you supposed to leave and act like you had never been there? Could he genuinely be as indifferent as he wanted you to believe? It pissed you that your feelings were probably plain on your face.
You searched for your phone, finding it on what used to be your side of the couch. It felt ridiculous to think you ever had a side of the couch, but you were both creatures of habit and slowly without even thinking you both made your own little sanctuary mere metres away from each other.
You awoke your phone, expecting a flood of texts and phone calls from your friends, only to find nothing. Not a single check in from anyone. You open the group chat and furiously tap out a message.
<Hey assholes who let me go home on my own last night? Anyways good job I blacked out and Iâm on Fushiguroâs fire escape! You are all absolutely useless to me I swear to god.>
Your phone vibrates rapidly as you place it down but youâre not in the mood to field their questions.
Youâre tempted to leave now, just to get it over with, go home and crawl into bed and forget any of this ever happened. But, you felt gross, it was late enough in the morning that you could run into someone you knew, and you missed the water pressure here.
As you got ready for your shower you surveyed your options. You refused to smell like him, but the only other bottle in the shower was doggy shampoo. Surely dogâs fur and human hair werenât so different right? Jade did have a beautiful coat, very soft and shiny⊠You reprimanded yourself for the ridiculous idea, but the point remained, there had to be something else for you to use.
Your brain, far more alert than it was 30 minutes ago, thought of all the things he hadnât changed, all the fixtures still in place. You had always kept an extra set of all your supplies under the sink. By the grace of all that is good on this cruel cruel earth, they were there, in all their dusty glory, your prized hygiene products sat unmoved under the sink. It would have been sick and twisted to have to leave your ex-boyfriendâs apartment smelling exactly like him, left to spend the rest of the day agonizing over whether you should take another shower.
As you entered the shower you wondered more. He had to have noticed the softness in your eyes, the faint smile you wore just having an ounce of his attention again, the way ti widened at every caring gesture, and falling with every biting remark.
Yes, it hurt every day missing him. Yes, it would hurt if he hated you. But none of that compared to the feeling of not knowing. What were you supposed to do with all these residual feelings that have yet to go away? Were they worth the suffocation or should you strip them away?
You were proud of yourself, all these reminders of what you once had, in a place you once loved, and you had yet to break down, not even shedding a tear. If you werenât wrapping yourself in a towel, you wouldâve given yourself a pat on the back. This victory was short lived, everyoneâs strength has its limits and you had taken yours too far past it already. But then you saw it, something you were completely unprepared for.
Laid neatly on top the closed laundry basket was THE outfit. It was nothing special to anyone else, just a grey sweater and loose joggers, but how many days had you spent alone breathing in his scent for comfort while he was gone? How many hard days at work had you reaching for these exact pieces as if they were the cure to all your problems?
Unable to support your own weight anymore, you fell to the tiled floor, tears spilling out, as your already sore throat grew even more hoarse â you felt like everything was collapsing around you. You werenât expecting to see him, and you certainly werenât expecting to need him in so many little ways. It was easy to forget how easily he weaves himself into your life, encroaching on everything you do.
The world disappeared behind each shallow breath, and an endless stream of tears you couldnât control. Your fingers scratch against your forearms repeatedly, trying to ground yourself in some reality you could no longer grasp. It is so exhausting trying to be over him, going through these cycles of strong emotions, over and over and over again.
Suddenly, for the second time in as few hours, you felt an overwhelming weight encompass your body.
Of course, his stupid fucking perfect dog would still know how to bring you out of a panic attack like he had spent so much time training when you started dating. You clutched to Jade as your breathing slowed, but it did nothing to stop your sobs, if anything it was just another painful reminder of everything you let go.
âUhhhâŠ.â Megumi was frozen at the door, for the first time today he didnât know what to do. His indifferent façade dropped as he observed the scene on his bathroom floor.
Thereâs nothing left to lose, not for a moment that he has seen this morning have you possessed more than an ounce of dignity, âSo thatâs it? You donât know what to do either? You know itâs been a whole fucking year and I still havenât figured out how to live without you. A whole year and Iâm still a mess. I canât survive being reminded of us, look at me. And yet every attempt to get over you was a knife twisting because theyâll never be you. Now Iâm here and I get to witness the wonderful Megumi Fushiguro, unaffected, and you⊠you have it all together.â You trail off, giving to him everything left in you.
You werenât expecting the confused and indignant expression on his face, âYou think this is having it together?â His voice lightly raising with each word âThis place might as well be a sealed shrine to you and our relationship. I havenât thrown a single thing out, moved any furniture, bought anything new â the only thing thatâs ânewâ is your stupid tea I keep buying even though I hate it, and for fucks sake y/n I shouldâve moved out. Every part of me that looks like I have it together is just my version of a mess.â He brushes a stray strand out of your face, his own face moving far too close for this to be purely platonic anymore ây/n Iâm no better off than you are, Iâve just kept everyone from lookingâ.
âSo what are we supposed to do with all this?â Your eyes shining, naĂŻve hope seeping through your defenses at the confirmation that he couldnât live without you either.
âWe could try againâ Somehow, it wasnât quite what you needed to hear. âI, am going to get dressed, and then weâll talk, Iâll meet you in the kitchen.â He nodded lightly, pulling himself up and exiting with Jade on his heels.
Dressed in the clothes you thought would burn your skin to even touch let alone wear, you let out a long sigh as you sit on at the breakfast nook. âLook, Megumi, I need to know if youâve worked through it, any of it? I canât, I canât wait another three years for you to tell me you canât say the words I love you, that you canât commit to more than a yearly rental, I canât just have you here I need more security than thatâ
He pursed his lips, unsure of what he could say to that, how he could make sure you didnât leave again.
âMegumi, I donât need you to say it to me today, I donât need you to commit to anything today, but I have to know youâve tried that I canât keep waiting for youâ
âI⊠Just give me a minute, pleaseâ his voice weak pleading with you. You waited, knowing better than to rush him, laying a hand on top of his assuring him you werenât going to run out the door.
ây/n, Iâm supposed to be honest and vulnerable, Iâm supposed to tell myself that people wonât abandon me just because I give them access to who I really am. I want to tell you I love you, because thereâs no other explanation for feeling this way. For feeling like your eyes outshine the stars, that your mind is more brilliant than the sun. Iâve tortured myself for a year with the idea of you meeting someone who could give you everything I couldnât, and selfishly I prayed they were awful, I wished you were miserable so I pretend the truth wasnât real that I was not enough for you, that I couldnât give you what you needed. Iâve never seen a loving relationship, certainly not for long enough to form memories, but I look at you and I canât imagine anything elseâ
Your thumb reaches to brush away the stray tear sliding down his face as he spoke to you. Manoeuvring yourself around to be on the same side of the nook as him, you pull him into you, letting him bury his head into the crook of your neck. You placed a gentle kiss into his hair before whispered into his ear âYou were always enough, I just needed you to know it too.â

RWBY Recaps: Volume 8Â âRiskâ
Welcome back, everyone! I have a lot of mixed, complicated feelings about today's episode and I'm already sure this recap will miss a great deal that should be said. There's a lot to digest, we need some time to do that, so until things have settled I think that the one, entirely confident claim I can make here is that our writers weren't BSing the fandom on twitter. The last few days have seen a number of big claims made regarding "Risk" â
â and whatever else we might have to say about the episode, it certainly delivered in terms of shocking content. From confessions to reveals to a new plan in place, there's a lot to unpack.Â
So let's get started.
Our first shot is a problem.Â
I don't want it to be! But I've got to work with what I've got. We open on Salem's flying monkeys â or gorillas, if we're being technical â and my immediate thought is where in the world they came from. I mean, obviously I know where. We ended Volume 6 with the post-credit scene of Salem adding wings to an army of Beringels, Hazel commenting that she'll lead the invasion herself. When Salem arrived at the end of Volume 7 and we picked up where we'd left off in Volume 8, the fandom was obviously expecting an attack led primarily by flying, transformed grimm. That didn't happen. For ten episodes the plot forgot that the Beringels existed, focusing instead of the Hound, the grimm soup, then the Whale, then the ground grimm the Whale was producing. Months back I encountered a number of posts asking, "What happened to the resource we know Salem brought to this fight?" and those questions are partly what inspired the "Introducing new grimm that are then quickly abandoned" spot on the bingo board. Now, suddenly, the Beringels have re-appeared and that is a good thing. Though it's too little, too late, as is so often the case with RWBY. Getting something you expect has a sour taste when it arrives months past when it was needed, especially when that something only exists for a second on screen.Â
This is doubly true given that we saw Oscar eliminate the grimm last episode.
At least, I thought he had? Pretty much everyone I've spoken to thought he had. This last week's discussions have centered around RWBY nerfing the stakes, taking out a whole army of grimm in one, magical blast. That's far from great. Yet now we see that we were apparently wrong. Atlas remains overrun with grimm, this problem remains a problem... so, yay? But we're once left with a tradeoff. RWBY has no longer eliminated the stakes with a deus ex machina as we had originally thought, but in its place we're left with a badly executed scene last episode and an assumed problem that is "fixed" with an enemy we should have been dealing with since the start of the volume. The road to the Beringels has been messy indeed and all they've done so far is fly across the screen.
Which reminds me: if this army of grimm still exists â and absolutely existed prior to Oscar's blast â how come not a single one is attacking the Schnee manor? This opening is in Atlas, the skies are overrun, we've seen a few grimm show up to help out the Hound, yet miraculously nothing bothers the group while they freak out at the dining table, or freak out as Penny tries to leave. That's a whole lot of grimm and a whole lot of negativity... yet somehow these two things never meet in a way that would inconvenience our characters. While from a writing standpoint I can understand not wanting to interrupt all these conversations and feel good moments, the show can't simply ignore the rules of its world whenever it's convenient. If anything, given that Atlas' population is currently hidden beneath the city, Schnee manor should be even more of a hot-spot than it normally would be. There is one (1) group of people out in the open for them to target.Â
Yeah, we're a single shot into this episode. It's a doozy.
Moving right along, those Atlas citizens (and, let's not forget, a large number of Mantle evacuees too) are still huddled in the tunnels, listening to Ironwood's insane broadcast. They're obviously terrified, as are those down in Mantle who are staring execution in the face. Fiona bursts into tears.
It makes me wonder why we didn't get the airship subplot now. As I've mentioned extensively in the past, that decision didn't make much sense and I think the writers knew it didn't make much sense because they chose not to reveal what Ruby and co. planned to do with the citizens once they were on board. The point was never to come up with a feasible plan, something the audience would put to the test, but rather to just make it seem like the group was doing something Smart and Heroic before Ironwood inevitably derailed it. Don't look too closely at the man behind the curtain. Normally, I'd comment that yes, it's damn hard to come up with a brilliant plan to save others in a situation like this â our characters can only be as smart as our authors! â yet that sympathy dissipates when we hit this episode and are given a scenario where airships would have been great. Ironwood has threatened to nuke Mantle. Suddenly, it is imperative that the civilians leave the safety of the crater as soon as possible (whereas before it was not). So Whitley remembers that they have access to these ships and the group hatches a plan to sneak them down while Ironwood is distracted, get everyone up into Atlas so he can't use Mantle as a bargaining chip anymore. Then they're spotted, the plan revealed, and Ironwood shoots their ships down, leaving them devastated that their attempt to help the citizens has literally gone up in flames. We're still left with the problem of why Ironwood wouldn't just allow a continued evacuation now that Salem is briefly out of the mix and the Schnees have provided extra resources â the writing really took a sledgehammer to his characterization â but the group trying to get people to Atlas to avoid death by bomb at least makes more sense than them trying to move the citizens to an undisclosed location, for unestablished reasons, when they were already relatively safe. The bomb is what makes those airships a necessity.
It really makes me wonder how much editing goes on and how much time the writers have before they finalize scripts.
Regardless, we cut from terrified people to Ironwood himself, accompanied by Winter. The animation has some nice parallels going on here, what with the same black, white, and blue color scheme, hands behind their backs, the need for robotic accommodations, and steps perfectly in synch. As we're about to see though, Winter is very good at looking the part of a loyal soldier while actually bending the rules.
However, are we really going to ignore that she betrayed Ironwood last episode? Betrayal from his perspective, that is. Winter was given a direct order, disobeyed that order, pissed off Harriet in the process, and wasn't able to give a good explanation for her actions â she was too busy being creeped out by Ironwood's reaction. For all intents and purposes she should be considered disloyal right now. Or at least under suspicion, yet Ironwood acts as if everything is fine. We've skipped over any meaningful fallout between them, or a reason why Ironwood would dismiss her betrayal. This ties into something I'll bring up later in the episode: namely, that RWBY introduces too much too quickly and doesn't have time to satisfyingly tackle â or tackle at all â the plot points they've introduced, simply because there's always a new one to focus on. We dropped the "Winter went against Ironwood at great personal risk" plotline to make room for the new "Ironwood has randomly threatened Mantle" plotline, which likewise doesn't do Ironwood's characterization any favors. I don't just mean the obvious "Omg he's willing to murder a whole city now" issue. Ironwood used to be smart, yet his unfounded trust in others makes him look foolish now: first trusting Watts, now Winter. Alongside that, the story and fandom have both pushed the idea that Ironwood is paranoid, yet that "paranoia" has only ever been attached to justified threats. If he were actually paranoid then Winter's actions would have caused him to mistrust all of the Ace Ops now, labeling everyone near him a disloyal enemy, despite evidence to the contrary (especially when it comes to Harriet). Yet across two volumes Ironwood has continually been "paranoid" only in regards to things like Cinder and Salem â proven threats â while simultaneously trusting known villains and ignoring when his subordinates straight up say, "She let our enemies go free." Thereâs little rhyme or reason to any of his decisions here.Â
Still! A nice, meaningful shot lol.
As Ironwood and Winter get closer we see the Ace Ops discussing the threat. "Of course he's not going to do it," to which Marrow pushes back with, "So what? He's bluffing with a whole city?" This is a really, really important moment that I don't think the writers realize is important. See, everyone is shocked when Ironwood reveals that he intends to go through with the threat. The Ace Ops, Winter, Robyn, our heroes... everyone grapples with the idea that this is actually happening. Everyone has some moment of, "It's just a bluff, yeah?" and I don't think that's just denial. The characters' shock tells us that Ironwood normally wouldn't be a man who'd do something like this. Ever. That shock has to stem from something, such as an ingrained understanding that Ironwood is a protector, not a murderer. Note the difference between the fandom and the characters' reactions. Whereas a good chunk of the fandom went, "Of course Ironwood means it. We all saw this coming! Remember how he..." and then proceed to list various things â persuasive or otherwise â that prove he was always a bad guy in the making. Yet no one in the RWBY world is inclined to use those moments as evidence. Winter doesn't go, "He's not bluffing. I saw him shoot the councilman just for speaking up" and the Ace Ops don't go, "Oh, he'll do it. This is the man who destroyed his arm to take down Watts. He'll stop at nothing." After everything they've seen â the same things we've seen â there's still some instinctual, nebulous knowledge that goes, "No. Ironwood wouldn't. He's one of the good guys." We can certainly talk about real life people getting swept up in horrible institutions, unwilling to admit how bad things actually are until they hit a specific line they can't cross... but I think this is less a comment on some sort of bystander effect (RWBY isn't that deliberately nuanced lol) and more an unintentional acknowledgement that until the very sudden and entirely unexpected shooting of Oscar, Ironwood actually wouldn't have done this. The Ace Ops are reacting to a man who absolutely existed until the writing erased him and they believe the core of that man still exists. To my mind, he should, but because our show can't actually have Salem as the main villain right now, she's conveniently blown up and Ironwood takes her place.
So we've got some loaded implications there, as well as Vine's comment that he hopes "the kids" see sense now. I am begging RWBY to pick a lane already. Are they kids, or are they adults? Because that answer makes a big difference and we can't continue to have it both ways.
Ironwood and Winter arrive were Ironwood orders that she prep drones with the "payload." That's the moment Winter and the others realize he's serious. Cue that shock all around. The revelation is the last straw for Marrow, prompting him to start yelling some excellent points about how Ironwood is doing Salem's job for her. See, this accusation works. Telling a guy threatening to blow up a city that he's as bad as their villain is accurate. Having Oscar tell that same guy that he's as bad as their villain because he wants to save a city full of people... is ridiculous. Totally different setup here and RWBY got it right this time. The only line that didn't work for me was Marrow asking the Ace Ops if they believe in anything. Uh... yeah. They believe in saving Atlas + all the Mantle evacuees they got. That's pretty well established. I swear, Â most RWBY speeches are padded with generic, heroic-sounding lines that don't actually mean anything, or are outright falsehoods weâre meant to ignore.Â
We'll see more of that with renora.
Marrow attempts to leave and his eyes go wide as he hears the click of Ironwood's gun. Remember I said that Winter is good at playing the obedient soldier? It's after Ironwood aims that she tackles Marrow.Â
On the surface it looks only like she violently disarmed him, but in reality she got him out of the bullet's path and kept Ironwood from firing at all. She saved his life, choosing to play up how she'll âtake this traitor to the brigâ where he belongs, rather than watching him die. A really nice moment in terms of strategy and one of the few lately where I've actually felt like I'm watching smart characters.
However, I cannot deny the uncomfortable implications in this scene. Smart or not, necessary or not, it hasn't escaped anyone's notice that one of our darkest characters was a) nearly killed by a white man and b) beat up by a white woman. To say nothing of Marrow's status as a faunus. I was cringing during his line about loyalty: âI used to wear this rank with pride. Now I see it for what it really is: a collar."Â
Honestly, I don't have the qualifications to unpack all that, so let's just acknowledge that the scene, while good in some respects, was massively insulting in others. Iâll let others in the fandom defend or damn it as they see fit.Â
We get a shot of how shocked the Ace Ops are that they nearly watched their team member get executed for speaking up against a bomb threat. It once again highlight's RWBY's strange depiction of violence and when it's deemed appropriate. Harriet has threatened people a couple of times now â here telling Marrow she'll shut him up herself â yet her reaction tells us that she never would have killed him as Ironwood nearly did. Threats, then, mean little... unless Ironwood is making an exaggerated comment about shooting Qrow. Then it's evidence of evil intent that's bound to come to the surface eventually. So does that mean Harriet will be trying to bomb cities herself someday? If so, it once again leaves our heroes in an awkward position, considering that Ruby started the fight Harriet wouldn't, Weiss stuck her weapon in Whitley's face, etc. If it says something awful that Winter would punch a minority â even to save his life â what does it say about Qrow that he would punch a child in anger? Outside of the easy to label actions like Ironwood's bomb threat and shootings, there exists this gray space that asks, âWhen are you justified to use violence? When is a threat forgivable?â The problem is, the show keeps coming up with contradictory answers. I bring this up not because Winter's punch or Harriet's threat are the most significant examples of this that we've seen, but because the themes of forgiveness and violence take center stage at the episode's end... and RWBY completely drops the ball. Keep these complications in mind.Â
Before that though, the group is crowded into the dining room and no matter what else "Risk" might give us, I'm reminded that I really like the design of the Schnee manor. I'm glad the episode found an excuse to show us this room again.
My initial thought upon entering the scene was, "Are we going to talk about Penny's hack? The silver-eyed grimm? Ozpin's return?" and to RWBY's credit it touches on all of these, though I stand by my point about plotlines coming too quickly. Any one of these should have been given the space to grow, not fighting for space against the potential destruction of Mantle. If you don't acknowledge these things in "Risk" you've lost your chance (much like how "Oscar is kidnapped" replaced "Oscar has to deal with Ozpin's return," resulting in a scene where Oscar was just... randomly okay with Ozpin again. We lost the chance to deal with the first conflict introduced because we barreled into the second), yet if you do spend episode time on these issues, it feels like the characters aren't dealing with the immediate threat. Questions of silver eyes, what to do about Penny, and Ozpin's return needed to be given their due before there was an hour time limit resulting in thousands of deaths. Now, you have to wonder why Yang and Ruby are talking about their mother when a city's safety is ticking away. Where were these questions and reassurances years ago?
I think this is why this episode â maybe even this whole volume â simultaneously feels too full and too boring. We're being introduced to lots of Big Things, but then putting them off to focus on other, smaller stuff, and by the time we circle back around it's no longer the right time. We're constantly focusing on the least interesting, least important thing in the room. Why is the group sitting around with their tea when we could have moved the Hound plotline up and started this groundwork earlier? Which means we're doing that work now instead of worrying about Mantle or Penny. All of which is connected to Salem herself being here, yet Ironwood is our villain instead... We're just introducing new idea after new idea, dropping each to focus on something else when the viewer is already emotionally invested in the last conflict. It makes the show feel overly packed with problems we don't have time for while simultaneously having too much time in which the characters do nothing of importance. We're never dealing with these issues at the right time. Talking about a silver-eyed grimm while Salem is here feels like Too Much and having the girls unpack that now, with Mantleâs life on the line, feels like Too Little. Stop sitting around while you've got less than an hour to save half a kingdom! We needed this conversation in a different episode, one not already driven by a problem thatâs objectively more important.Â
But I'm getting ahead of myself. We're in the dining room and the group is listing all the stuff that has gone wrong lately. Blake mentions that Qrow and Robyn are still in custody, because we definitely want Blake remembering that Qrow exists, not one of his nieces. Ruby, meanwhile, is having a meltdown. "So then it's impossible!" she yells, head in her hands.Â
Emerald sneaks in an insult: âSee? If Ms. Hero here with all the answers doesnât have one..." and the others, of course, jump to Ruby's aid. But Emerald is right! It's entirely Ruby's fault that Atlas didn't get the chance to escape with those they had. Her actions and lack of a plan led to where they are now. I'm not saying she's responsible for Ironwood's insane decisions â that's like saying he's responsible for Qrow's in relation to Clover â but Ruby indeed played the part of the hero who had all the answers... without actually having any answers. Now that things are worse than how they started, her only answer is to say it's all "impossible" and throw up her hands. Ruby is an absolutely terrible leader right now and someone should indeed be calling her out on that, it's just too bad it's Emerald, someone technically still presented as an untrustworthy figure for the next couple of minutes. (More on that later.) Any and every criticism of Ruby is dismissed out of hand. Don't believe Ironwood because he's crazy now. The Ace Ops? His boot lickers. Yang has things to say, but once Ren agrees with her she does a 180. Now Ren is heading towards an extra special apology for daring to doubt Ruby. May calls her out, only to also change her opinion the next episode. Now here's one more person, but she's a bad guy. The show has never once encouraged us to treat these criticisms seriously â never allowed them to stick, let alone lead to change â and at this point I'm done with everyone falling over themselves to absolve and praise Ruby. By making Emerald the criticizer and having Ruby throw herself a pity party, the writing ensures that the conversation goes from, "Yeah. You messed up big time and now have a responsibility to fix things" to "Aww, don't be so hard on yourself! We won't let mean Emerald insult you anymore."
Ruby makes herself the victim here. She gets so upset and acts so defeated that all anyone can do is reassure her. The focus turns towards her, a focus centered around hiding against the table, or cowering on a staircase, so that it feels cruel to call her out on her deadly mistakes when she's so clearly upset. But they still should have, especially since cowering and tears have never protected anyone else from the group's criticism. Ozpin is proof of that.
What I'm getting at is that Ruby runs away. She's faced with the consequences of her actions, is informed she needs to help come up with a solution, and instead of braving that decides it's "impossible" and literally runs from the room. While they're on a time limit. Keep this moment in mind for just a bit longer. These choices become doubly important later.
So Ruby can't handle the responsibility she violently ripped from others and the group goes out of their way to comfort her in this. Especially since the writing again decides to conflate Emerald and Ozpin through a comment of Oscar's, demonstrating that it still has no decent sense of what "responsibility" or "villainous acts" means. These scenes are three years in the making and every step getting here was dogged with problems, so the fact that the end result is a mess isn't exactly surprising.
We (thankfully) leave Ruby for a bit and instead turn to Jaune. He's amplifying Nora's aura, but admits that he can't get the scars to go away. That makes sense. After all, they're scars. His semblance helps people heal, but at this point Nora has already healed. Those scars are the result of that.
She says it was âJust another ditzy move from Noraâ and I'm glad we're acknowledging that, even if it is all framed through the lens of Nora being incorrect in that assumption. Once again, the writing continually makes statements about characters, but fails to have their actions reflect that. Nora wanted to do more than just hit things with her hammer without thinking them through... and we showed that by having her hit a door with her hammer without thinking it through. Was it heroic? Absolutely. Did it lead to any growth? No. I'd much rather someone acknowledge that yeah, she did the same thing she always does, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Nora's impulsivity is a part of her and, given the talk of teammates here, she could have gotten reassurance that she'll always have people around to help her temper those impulses. Instead, we're (again) told that she shouldn't do A anymore, watch her do A anyway, the writing presents it like itâs B, Nora admits that she did A, and everyone rushes to assure her it was actually B. Just let these characters make mistakes for once, especially mistakes made in an effort to help someone. This should be the easiest and kindest way to criticize the group and RWBY canât even manage that.Â
Which brings us to Ren. Ren, I am so sorry. You deserved better than this. Nora rips into him, saying, âWe were supposed to be a team, but that didnât matter to you! You shove people out so you donât have to feel things that are hard!" and again we have RWBY making grand statements that are meaningless. Did Ren keep things bottled up in Volume 7? Yes... and no one tried to help him with that. Instead, Nora decided to bypass his problems completely and try to kiss it better. When that (shockingly) didn't work, Ren was finally forced to open up at Yang's insistence and was abandoned for his perspective. That's what that was, literally and metaphorically: they walked away from him and made it clear that so long as he believes these things, he's not welcome. What were those things? We've made mistakes, Ruby made mistakes, we're not ready for this stuff. That's it! "We were supposed to be a team" makes it sound like Ren betrayed them in the worst possible way, when in reality all he did was acknowledge that they're imperfect and that things are a mess right now. But of course, that is the ultimate betrayal for this group: acknowledgement that theyâre not perfect. Everyone can call themselves out to generate sympathy â Nora does it, Ruby does it â but as soon as someone else agrees and implies that they should make changes, theyâre dismissed.Â
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the refusal to question Ruby makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Is this as bad as Ironwood shooting someone who questions him? Of course not, but that doesn't make it good. The group has made it clear from Ozpin to Ren that if you put a toe out of line, that's it. You're gone. You are not a part of the group until you are willing to back the group 100%, no matter what horrible things they might be up to. That Nora yells at Ren for questioning and Ren learns to keep his mouth shut, apologizing to both her and Jaune for speaking his mind is... well, it's horrible. That's not friendship. I know the fandom doesn't want to hear that given how much we otherwise love these relationships, but it's not. If you can't question and voice concerns without about serious topics like this without the threat of abandonment â literal or otherwise â then that's not a friend group you should be sticking with. Renâs "biggest failing as a teammate and a partner" is that he didn't agree with the others and didnât immediately change his mind when they demanded it. There are awful implications attached to that, especially since Renâs perspective was a good one. Heâs not out here slinging horrific views like, I donât know, homophobia at the beeâs non-relationship. He just went âWe made mistakesâ and the group responded âAbsolutely not. Absurd. Fuck you.â They didnât even consider that position, which speaks to both a lack of respect for Ren and a level of arrogance that keeps getting them into trouble. But these issues are easily overlooked given everything else that surrounds them. Outside of Ren's apology, I quite liked the renora moment. We got a detail about Nora's backstory! She called Ren pretty! We got an "I love you"! He booped her nose!! It's all very cute and wholesome... and soured by the knowledge of what Ren had to do to get here.
Outside of these generalized responses, there are three other points I wanted to make about this scene:
Yes, more obligatory humor to ruin an otherwise serious moment. Jaune could have just smiled softly and slipped out. Or have him leave before the conversation started (because Ren shouldn't have been apologizing to him in the first place...) Instead, we got multiple seconds of him being awkward, including a bunch of funny sound effects.
I'm legitimately happy we got that "I love you" â outside of the problems since arriving in Atlas, I've always enjoyed the ship â but coming on the heels of last week's episode, it makes the bee's forehead touch look even worse. Renora has been confirmed multiple times at this point, but we still can't get something overt for our one, queer ship.
On the one hand, I really like that Nora set a boundary here â a surprisingly mature conversation for RWBY â but I'm confused as to what exactly the boundary is. She says she needs to figure out who she is without Ren, but what does that translate to on a practical, day-to-day basis? Normally, when a couple needs to figure out who they are they separate, but renora can't do that. They're still on the same team, stuck in the same war, presumably off to do the same things they've always done together. It sounds great on paper to say that Nora is going to discover who she is without Ren, but unless they separate again I don't see how that can happen. More likely, we'll get a volume or two of them looking and acting exactly as they always have, but when it comes time for relationship drama again, Nora will insist she's a different person who is now ready to be with him. That she's changed. But change requires, you know, making a change, so is renora actually going to look any different moving forward?
While these two confess their love but also decide to be separate (is that what happened?), Qrow and Robyn have knocked out some guards and retrieved their weapons. Robyn watches four security feeds, whispering, "He's... really gonna do it." See? Even Robyn, someone who never liked Ironwood and considered him dangerous from the start, is in shock that he would go this far. Qrow doesn't want to talk moral downfalls though, he's all action: "Not if we stop him first."
You know, at least Qrow is doing something. What he's doing is stupid, particularly given his motivations, but with the volume we've had I give him props for coming up with a plan and sticking to it. That's more than many of the others have done.
Yet then, suddenly, Robyn doesn't want to kill Ironwood. ...Since when? Robyn has been the most trigger happy of the lot while Qrow initially wanted to talk. Now they've switched places for no reason I can see, with Qrow all murder happy and Robyn cautioning restraint. Which admittedly isn't uncommon. Remember how Nora was all about protecting Mantle and then randomly decided to help with Amity instead? Remember how Yang was critical of Ruby and then decided to defend her to Ren? Remember how Hazel was pro-Salem until he saw a blue naked lady and decided to defect? At this point, characters just do things at random.
Robyn says that Qrow isn't trying to kill Ironwood because that's the right thing to do, only because he wants revenge. A true enough assessment. But then she follows it up by claiming that Qrow is a better huntsmen than Clover because he does the right thing. Without rehashing all my arguments regarding how Clover was not the devil incarnate for refusing to let two potential criminals walk free â especially after they attacked him â we're really playing the dead guy card now? Clover was murdered. Robyn and Qrow were participants in that murder. Now Robyn is making sweeping claims about who is the better person when Clover quite obviously isn't here to defend himself? That's all kinds of messed up.
Before they can bash the dead guy anymore though the elevator arrives. We see Qrow and Robyn's shocked expressions at whoever is behind the doors, presumably Winter and Marrow. It seems likely that Winter didn't really intend to take him to the brig. They're defecting and have now found two more allies to help them. Robyn wants a plan other than run upstairs and stab Ironwood? Winter will likely provide one.
We return to Ruby who, as established, is wallowing in the most dramatic position on the staircase. Obviously things are legitimately horrible right now and if Ruby had been given a storyline different from what we've seen since Volume 6, I'd feel sorry for her. As it stands, it's just frustrating to watch her look like the maiden of a Victorian novel while Mantle's time ticks away.Â
The conversation between her and Yang is great though. At least, it is for the first few sentences. I love that the show remembered they're sisters and have them talking again. I love that Yang tries to cheer Ruby up by saying she outshines her big sis in regards to the Hound. I love that she nevertheless acknowledges that the Schnees were a part of that defeat, giving them their due rather than putting all the praise on Ruby. We establish that Yang has learned what the Hound really was. This conversation is going strong...
...but then.
"That's what happened to mom."
Really? Really? In eight episodes we went from, "Lol just because the Hound spoke doesn't mean Summer was secretly made into a grimm. Thatâs a crazy theory" to "Summer was absolutely turned into a grimm. That's canon now!" Except because it was made canon by Ruby just announcing it one day, we can expect for an even bigger "twist" in the future: Summer is still alive. Why wouldn't she be? The Hound was untouchable outside of silver eyes, so we have little reason to think anyone has defeated her in the last 14 odd years.
I'll admit the timeline works out better than expected (I think) with Salem killing SEWs during Maria's time before switching to experimentation, but there's no emotional weight to this. I just don't care and frankly I don't think the fandom cares either. Oh, there's plenty of excitement over the reveal, but that's all for the version of Summer Rose people have built up in their minds for the last eight years, not anything that exists in the show. If you strip away all the headcanons and fics, Summer isn't interesting because she barely exists. We know nothing about her as a person and therefore we have no reason to care that she's likely another Hound. Worse â because maybe this could be smoothed over if we just care since Ruby cares â everything else surrounding this reveal was badly done. Summer, as said, has been a non-character for this whole series. Yang only just remembered two episodes ago that Summer is her mom too. The only evidence of experimentation we've seen is on other grimm, not people. There was more mystery surrounding why Tyrian was interested in Jaune, not why he'd kidnap Ruby (Big Bads always want to kidnap heroes). We have no idea who this silver eyed faunus was. We have no idea why Salem would randomly start experimenting when she doesn't need additional weapons. We don't know why she would keep these weapons to the sidelines when sheâs apparently had them for over a decade. I don't even buy that Ruby, someone who we never see thinking about or questioning any of this, suddenly put all these pieces together to hit on the revelation.Â
None of this adds up because it wasn't planned. Summer was dead, added to the series purely because having a dead mom is interesting, and she was treated as dead for seven years. Not just by the characters, by the show. Then, suddenly, the narrative raced to remind everyone that she's supposedly a Very Important Character so we could get this twist. Itâs awful. Not because the idea itself is horrible, but because it was shoved into a story that wasn't prepared for it and certainly doesn't need it. The group has Salem herself attacking the kingdom, Ironwood threatening destruction, three Relics still to discover, not to mention all the other personal conflicts going on â Emerald walking around the mansion, Ozpin is back, Penny is being controlled, Oscar has finite magic now, Nora is still recovering â but we're going to introduce another subplot to deal with? RWBY acts like it's terrified that if it doesn't add something new and flashy every third episode, its viewers will jump ship. Despite its hiccups, there's a reason why the arcs of Volume 4 worked well overall: characters were given the time to explore specific problems, like Yang's PTSD and the destruction of Ren's village. Now, in episode 11 of 14, RWBY reveals that two of the characters' mom was turned into a literal monster, but there's only time for a tiny bit of comfort because Penny is escaping and they have less than an hour now to save Mantle. There is way too much going on and we're not devoting enough time to any of it.
Hell, even the conversation can't afford to stay on the Summer reveal for more than a few sentences. Ruby segues back to her self-chastisement, saying that she wasted time on Amity. She did, but not because people didn't come. She never should have made that terrifying, nonsensical announcement to begin with. But just like Ruby never thought through the pros and cons of telling the world about Salem, she apparently never thought about the logistics of getting help. She's written the world off now â so you just know help will appear in the finale â yet she never considered how long all this would take. Our timeline is (supposedly) two days, so how long would it take a kingdom to digest the information she gave them, decide on a course of action, get people and resources together, then fly all the way to Atlas? After Ruby used most of the first day just to send the message? As I and others have pointed out, the answer is âway longer than the group has.â It shouldn't be possible, yet neither Ruby nor Yang realizes basic facts like, "What's the flight time between Vacuo and Atlas?" Like Qrow blaming his semblance rather than his decision to team up with Tyrian, Ruby blames the world for abandoning them rather than her terribly thought out plan. Both have reached the right emotion â regret â but not for the right reasons.
Also, Ruby says that Amity fell. Are Pietro and Maria okay??
Yang talks about blind optimism vs. no optimism at all, something I could really get behind if the group hadn't been governed by blind optimism this whole time. Also if what the rest of what Yang said made sense. She fires back with, âAnd in case you didnât notice, my plan for Mantle didnât work either." Uh... what plan? As far as I recall there was no plan. They just went down to do any tasks that needed doing: supply runs and grimm killings. What plan is Yang talking about?
This conversation is a disaster. We circle back around to Summer with Yang saying she also took a risk (the title is very obvious this episode) but "she's still my hero." Is she? Because the only thing you've ever said about Summer is that she baked great cookies. Regardless, Yang lays her head on Ruby's shoulder and they cry some more.
Then Jaune hurries down the steps because Penny has woken up and broken through a window.
Again: how were they planning to deal with this? Did anyone discuss it? Because it looks like Klein said, "Hey, that friend of yours powered up and could have hurt us," Nora said, "Hey, Penny was fighting some sort of control," and Whitely said, "Yeah, she wanted to open the vault and then self destruct" and everyone just left her alone in some room, deciding they'd worry about that later. If Penny had just snuck out a little more quietly the group would have been screwed.
What I do like though is the teamwork to keep Penny from flying off. It feels like we get so little teamwork nowadays, which makes everyone piling on others' range weapons, or Jaune boosting Weiss' glyphs, really enjoyable. Even Emerald gets in on the action because apparently they gave her her weapons back!Â
We're going to talk about this nonsense in a second.
For now, Ruby implores Penny to fight it, which is exactly what I said we'd get. Penny insists Ruby kill her though, saying that if she does she'll ensure that the power passes to her. I find this to be a weird priority. Does the group really care about who gets the Maiden powers right now? The threat here is that Penny will successfully open the vault â which shouldn't even be that much of a worry. Just let Ironwood leave instead of trying to destroy Mantle! Keeping him here has made things worse! â and that Penny will self-destruct. That feels like the biggest worry: that Penny will die. So they're going to prevent her death by... killing her themselves? Priorities and motivations really feel shaky this week.
Luckily, Ruby remembers that Penny is A Real Person and tells Jaune to amplify her aura. The fact that she has a soul keeps the virus from overtaking her. Hurray!
That's like saying my sense of self will beat off rabies. Just believe that you're your own person and nothing can touch you. They go so far as to say, âThatâs who you are. Our friend, not a machineâ and that feels like such an erasure to me. Penny is a machine. She is! And that was great back when this was accepted as a good thing, not something to ignore. Remember this?
You think just because you've got nuts and bolts instead of squishy guts makes you any less real than me?
Here, Ruby acknowledges Penny's difference and reaffirms that she still has worth. Now, the group denies Penny's difference in order to prove that she has worth. She has worth because she's supposedly not a machine and supposedly can't be controlled like one... even though she is a machine and is being controlled. It's only Jaune's semblance that keeps her from going under again. The concept of Penny's personhood is now connected to her ability to resist a machine-based virus and she has failed to do that. This doesn't confirm Penny's humanity, it tells Penny (and us) that humanity is distinct from the machine parts of her, rather than a concept that includes it, and the moment she is too influenced by that machinery she ceases to be a person. The group isn't accepting her here, they're encouraging Penny to ignore and deny the parts that make her Penny.
If you want an example of how to do an arc like this far, far better, go watch The Next Generation with Data. He's what Penny could have been.
Regardless, the virus has been held at bay, at least so long as Jaune has aura. Which seems to be endless given that he was exhausting himself in the whale, but is now boosting Nora, Weiss, and Penny without any difficulty.
At least that's a minor concern in the grand scheme of things. What we're about to get? Not so much. Honestly, I'm 7k into this recap and I just don't have the energy that these two scenes deserve. Which scenes? The one where Emerald is welcomed into the fold with laughter and Ozpin has to grovel for forgiveness.
Emerald first. Last week I said:
âHowever this fight ends, we could really use someone like you, [Emerald.]â Thatâs it then. Discussion over. We knew as soon as it started that blindly trusting her was being presented as the ârightâ thing to do and now here we are, deciding that conclusively, despite Jaune and Yangâs complaints. By the time the group reaches the mansion, Oscar is defending Emerald from Ruby. Weâre supposed to just accept that sheâs a part of the group now, only minimal pushback allowed.
and I was right. Over the course of the last week I spoke with a number of friends, many of them working under the belief that this was just the start of an arc for Emerald. Obviously the show wouldn't instantly have the group trust her after all this. They'll need to warm up to her first. She'll need to prove herself. Well, I was far more pessimistic, arguing instead that I thought this was it. She was already being presented as a perfectly trustworthy figure. I'd briefly thought I'd been mistaken when the group turned on Emerald for her comment to Ruby, but then suddenly she's been given her weapons back. It's not even a matter of "You should be able to defend yourself, but you're still not trustworthy" (which would still have problems, but). No, she makes a comment about "switching sides" and that's it, trust achieved. That's all it took â nothing at all.
Now, some shows do function on a second chance policy. We can name hundred of stories where heroes instantly forgive antagonists and there's nothing wrong with that. The problem is that RWBY is very much not that show. In the exact same scene Ozpin apologizes to the group and begs that they try to trust him again:
âIâve failed all of you. I should have trusted you with the truth and I should never have run the day you discovered it."
This is complete and utter bullshit. Sorry, I'm not mincing words for this one. Two years we waiting for the group to come around, hoping that there would be apologies on both sides, but there wasn't. The group doesn't physically or verbally hurt Ozpin anymore â they do accept his request â but it's done with expressions that say this is what they are owed. Youâd better apologize.
I could rehash all the arguments I've already made about how atrociously they treated him, how Ozpin had no reason to trust a bunch of teenagers, how important it was that both sides admit their mistakes, but if you're reading this recap you're likely already familiar with all that. Rather, what I want to emphasize here is that our opinions on Ozpin don't even matter here. Even those who take his apology at face value â fully believing he did fail them, he should have told them everything from the start, and that him leaving was "running away" rather than being driven off â even if we accept for just a moment that Ozpin is as guilty as the show says and heinous as the fandom claims... surely he's not as bad as Emerald? In roughly chronological order she has:
Tried to ally herself with Adam along with Cinder and Mercury
Helped to attack Amber, resulting in injuries that would have killed her if Cinder hadn't gotten to her first
Helped kill Tukson
Pretended to be a transfer student and Ruby's friend for the rest of the semester (thatâs a lie that would breed mistrust)
Tricked the world into thinking that Yang had attacked Mercury unprovoked
Uses her semblance on Pyrrha, causing her to unintentionally kill Penny
All of this was in service of the Fall of Beacon, an event that destroyed a school, killed an unknown number of students, killed Pyrrha, and lost Yang her arm
Participated in the attack on Haven which, beyond the intent to further Salem's goals, nearly got Weiss killed
Came to Atlas to assist in the next attack
Went after Penny, Pietro, and Maria â two of whom might still be in trouble depending on if Amity literally fell out of the skyÂ
Listened to Oscar being tortured, hemming and hawing for a while before realizing that, if the whole world is in danger, she's in danger too
Finally jumped ship
Emerald is one of the bad guys. All the sad looks over the years doesn't change that. Yet somehow an antagonist we've had since Volume 1 is considered more trustworthy than Ozpin, a man who hasn't intentionally helped kill their friends and who has been helping and apologizing for months now.
Yang "Aww"s when Emerald speaks. Just sit with that for a second. The woman who went through all of that horror because of Emerald, who just last episode was correctly saying they can't expect her to forget all that, is going "Aww" after... Emerald helped hold Penny for two seconds? This is ridiculous. These are the faces of the group when talking about Emerald's trust
whereas these are their expressions when talking about Ozpin's
Itâs not a matter of who deserves trust or not, here itâs purely a matter of comparison. Emerald should not be more quickly forgiven than Ozpin.Â
Now toss in the story Ozpin tells. Unsurprisingly, it's another fairy tale â we've gotten a little heavy-handed lately â about a young girl who flees the consequences of a choice and, having never learned from her initial failure, spreads even more trouble. That's Ruby. That is Ruby to a T in this episode and the last three volumes. She is literally a young girl who has caused staggering consequences, literally ran away from the conversation about those consequences, and is now poised to continue making those mistakes because everyone keeps reinforcing her flaws. That's Ruby, yet somehow the show thinks it's Ozpin. He positions himself as the young girl here, as if he didn't face his consequences generations ago when he left the cabin, didn't learn from his mistakes by keeping Salem's secret, and hadn't been driven away by the very people he's asking for a second chance. This scene has everything backwards and while normally I'd grab hold of the possibility that maybe things will right themselves later on... we're done. This is the ending of that arc. After two years of saying, "Maybe, maybe, maybe," Ozpin has been taken back into the fold after begging his way back in. There's no more time to correct things. RWBY missed its chance. Weiss says that "Trust is a risk" and that's how Ozpin is forgiven. They have taken the risk of trusting him again after months of reflection, life-saving actions, and apologies. Emerald is granted the risk of trust in under an hour. Iâve heard so many people say theyâre dropping RWBY this volume and scenes like this are precisely why.Â
Ugh. Heavy stuff, folks! I feel like I need to lighten the mood. Here, let's take a moment to acknowledge that the Schnees and Klein only marginally know what's happening.
Someone help them.
That is, to all intents and purposes, the end of our episode. Ruby has some sort of epiphany about actually handing Penny over â "That's actually a risk we haven't considered" â and Ironwood will no doubt fall for whatever plan they've concocted because he's stupid now. He receives a call from Ruby saying they agree to his terms, Watts is attempting to get communication of his own up and running, and Neo arrives to do... whatever she intends to do. Idk, I have assumed she wanted Ruby, but Cinder obviously doesn't have her yet for a trade off. Regardless, Neo is ready for a fight while Cinder just smiles. Team up 2.0?
As for bingo, I'm using my free space for "Worst redemption arc I've ever seen," with an honorary nod to Hazel too, and Ozpin's square gets blacked out in exes because that was just #bad.
This bingo board is a mess. Appropriate lolÂ
Three more weeks, everyone. Hang in there! đ

Dominance (Derek Morgan x GN! Reader)
Gif creds: @idiosyncratiqueâ
Genre: Smut

Warnings: 18+,SMUT, NSFW, Edging, swear words, masturbation (male and female), kidnapping
Word Count: 2,306
A/N: Hereâs an original concept for Derek Morgan, it is very smutty, so read at your own risk. i tried to make the smut as general neutral as possible, i did make a few errors by including female pronouns, I tried editing them out, so if i missed any just let me know and I will fix it!
Y/F/N= Your friendâs name Y/L/N= Your last name
You live in the city of St. Louis, one of the unsafest cities in America.Â
Here in St. Louis there are a ton of robberies, shootings, and death, it seems as if nobody is safe at times, but you never thought it would end up being you or somebody that you cared about who would be somebodyâs next target.
Y/F/N was supposed to come to your apartment last night, but they never showed, instantly you grew worried so you called 911.
âHi, I would like to report a missing person, they areâŠâ You started to speak, but were instantly interrupted.
âLet me transfer you over to Agent Morgan.â The dispatcher said.
Agent Morgan, the FBI is in town?
âSupervisory Special Agent Morgan.â A man spoke over the phone.
âMy friend, Y/F/N, was supposed to come over last night, but they never showed up, I think they are missing.â You spoke, your voice cracking.
âAlright, I am going to need you to come into the station so we can ask you some questions, is that alright?â
âYeah, I can be there in an hour.â You spoke quickly before you hung up the phone.
You quickly put your shoes on and were out the door, driving to the St. Louis Police Department, a place you hoped you would never have to be.
You walked into the building and were greeted by a blonde woman, âI am looking for Agent Morgan.â You say looking around the room.
âYou must be here about your friend, Iâm Agent Jareau, I will take you to Agent Morgan. Can I get your name?â The lady asked you while she placed a hand on your shoulder, guiding you to the interview rooms.
â I am Y/N /Y/L/N.â You spoke softly as you entered the room and sat down.
âAlright, I will send Agent Morgan in a few minutes, is there anything I can get you?â She asked while she headed to the door.
âUhm, no, I am good. Thank you, though.â You smiled smally and she walked out of the room.
After what felt an eternity later, Agent Morgan walked in and sat in front of you, âSo, tell me about your friend.âÂ
âUhm. They are the quiet type, they donât go out of their way to talk to someone they donât know unless they have to, they only talk to a few people, they stay home a lot, they arenât in a relationship. They would never just run off either.â You spoke quickly, trying to make sure you gave him all of the important information and then told the agent what your friend looks like.
âThank you so much, this helps a lot. What about you? Tell me about yourself.â He looked at you and then in a folder.
âWhat? Why? How is that important to the investigation? You are looking for my friend, not me.â You looked at him and then the folder.
âOur technical analyst did some digging and you fit our profile. You are in your early 20s, live a secluded life, not a lot of friends, you were average in school, you didnât party a lot, and we had a piece that wasnât fitting, and every time we tried to think of something it wouldnât make sense, that piece? We think our unsub is female. You.â He spoke calmly, but when he said, âyou,â he pointed his finger.
Your jaw dropped open, âfirst, Agent, donât point at me. That is incredibly rude. And if I kidnapped my friend, why would I be here? I have watched all of those stupid cop shows, I know that would be inserting myself into the investigation and that is what you guys look for.â
The man smiled, âNot this time. And your knowledge of how this all works makes you look even guiltier, so why donât you just tell me what you did to your friend and the others that were abducted and I will see about cutting you a deal.â
âI donât need a deal because I didnât do it.â You crossed your arms and leant back in your chair.
âOkay then.â He smiled again and walked out.
If that man didnât seem like such a douche, you might have thought his smile was pretty.
You watched the mirror, wondering what man was doing on the other side of it.
âThey are refusing a deal? That is when they will break and panic about what prison they will be sent to if they donât accept.â Reid spoke to Morgan and Rossi.
âEither they are really confident they wonât get caught or they are innocent. Maybe we should explore some other possibilities.â Rossi said to Morgan.
âNo need.â Hotchner said as he walked into the space where the other agents were.
âTheir friend was just spotted on the outskirts of the city, they said a man took them from their driveway when she was getting ready to leave.â He looked through the window at you.
âSo, are we searching for the man?â Morgan asked Hotch.
âNo need. They used a log she found while running and when he thought he caught up to them, she hit him in his head and knocked him out and when the officers went to go look for him he was still there. They are bringing them in now.â Hotch said and walked out of the space.
âI guess I better go let them know.â Morgan said and walked into the room you were in.Â
âYour friend was found and they will be okay, they are in the hospital.â Morgan spoke.
âDid they get the guy?â You asked and stood up.
âYeah, they are bringing him in now.â He said and opened the door for you to leave.
You look at the man, profiling him like he did to you not long ago, âYou need to stop being so confident that youâre right when you arenât, I know it might be an interrogation tactic but it makes you look stupid, you also have to stop puffing your chest out to prove your dominance, because if we werenât in a police station, I would dominate you. Iâm not a little thing you can just boss around, that is where you were mistaken and that is why the piece fit. You assumed that I could convince people to come with me because I am not intimidating. I think you need to re attend your profiling class.â You said calmly and kept eye contact the whole time, further proving your dominance, what broke your eye contact was an older man laughing.
You turned and faced an older Italian man, âKeep laughing and youâre next.â You smirked and walked away from the agents.
After your experience with the agents you went and checked on your friend at the hospital.
They had obvious injuries and were going to need to see someone for a while after all of this, but other than that they seemed to be okay.
Your phone rang, it was an unknown number, you stepped outside of their room and answered it, âhello?â you asked.
âHi, this is Derek Morgan I just want-â The agent spoke, but you rolled your eyes and hung up.
âMen.â You scoffed and walked back into your friends room.
âI am going to head home for the night, I have to feed my dog, but I will be back in the morning.â You smiled and gave them a small hug before walking out of the room and going home.
On your way home you notice a car following, âthis day just keeps getting worse and worse.â You muttered before pulling into your driveway, pepper spray in hand, you got out of your car and walked to your door as the car pulled in behind your car.
A man emerged from your car and you immediately recognized him, âSo the FBI makes house calls to annoy people they accused of being a murderer?â you laughed and put the pepper spray in your purse and opened your door.
The man also laughed, âNo, I just wanted to apologize and say you were right about what you said earlier.â he scratched the back of his head.
âHm. Which part?â You smirked.
âI was hoping all of it...if youâre up to it.â He also smirked and walked up to you at your door.
âThis isnât very professional, Agent,â you placed a hand on his chest, âdo you do this after every case.â
âNot usually, but thereâs just something about you that makes me want to.â He placed his hand on top of yours.
âAnd that is?â
âDominance.â He said and kissed you while pushing you inside the door, kicking it shut.
âOh. I see,â you pull away from the kiss, âmy bedroom is down the hall, first room on the left, be naked when I get in there.â
The man just nodded, any alpha male dominance he tried to act like he had was instantly gone.
After a few short moments you walked into the room, stripping as you walked, and saw the man laying on your bed, already hard, waiting for you.
You smirked at the sight and walked to him slowly.
Once you got to the man, you sat on the bed beside him, looking at his cock and then his face. You grabbed his cock in your hand, spat on it and began to pump it. Derek became a moaning mess within seconds.
âDamn, baby.â He flexed his abs.
âHm?â You hummed looking at him.Â
Humming. It gave you an idea.Â
You removed your hand from his length and bent over his cock and kissed the tip.
He looked at you wide eyed, but then nodded for you to do it.
You first licked all around the tip and massaged his balls.
You then began to suck just the tip, teasing the man who was very rude to you earlier, this is the perfect time to exact your revenge.
âMore.â Derek moaned.
âIâll do as I please.â You smirked and then licked his shaft, keeping your hand on his balls.
You then began to bob your head up and down on his cock, pumping whatever you cannot fit into your mouth.
You increase your speed when you can tell he is close to cumming.
âIâm gonna cu-â You cut him off by removing your mouth from his cock, causing him to lose the feeling of pleasure just before he came.
âWhat was that for?!â He chuckled and went to put his hand on his cock, but you smack it away.
âYou donât get to cum until I let you, and I donât want to yet.â You smirked and then placed your hand back on his cock and started to pump it again.
The agent was once again a moaning mess, you watched him as he closed his eyes and began to breathe heavily.
You removed your hand and he looked at you, âAgain?â he asked.
âI want you to get yourself off.â You smirked, grabbing his hand and placing it on his cock.
You watched as he began to jerk himself off. You felt yourself getting more and more turned on by the sight.Â
While you watched the man you could tell he was close again, this time you let him cum.
He let out a loud moan as he released.
You crawled over him backwards and began to ride him.Â
He went to grab your hips, but you smacked them away. âNo touching.â
He looked at you with wide eyes, once again, but he obeyed you.
You bounced up and down on his cock, moaning like there was no tomorrow.
The agent just watched as you bounced, he thrusted up into roughly, earning a moan from the both at you.
While thrusting, Derek reaches your spot easily, something you were not receiving while it was just you bouncing.
âFuck, Derek.â You moaned loudly.
âYouâre so good at this.âÂ
You grabbed his throat, squeezing light, earning a smirk from him, âShut up, Derek.â You continued to bounce with your hand on his neck.
You felt him twitch while in you, you pulled off of him and laid next to him.
âWatch me.â you reached and began to play with yourself.
You played with it vigorously and moaned loudly.
Derek watched as you got yourself and grabbed his cock, but you told him not to and to just watch.
You let out a loud moan and came while Derek just watched.
âI want you to give me some head.â You said in a chilled toan and Derek just nodded.
Derek put his head in between your legs and licked your sex, you put your hand on the back of his head, pushing him closer.Â
The feeling of his tongue all of your sex was overwhelming and you quickly came again.
He pulled away and kissed you roughly before pulling abruptly.
Derek flipped you over and quickly pushed himself into you, thrusting quickly.
He slapped your ass and you moaned.
âDo I feel good?â You breathed.
âSo good, I might just have to subscribe.â He moaned.
You both hear a ringing come from Derekâs pants.
Derek groaned and pulled out, âthat must be my boss. I gotta go. Sorry, sexy.â
Derek got off the bed, as well as you, and you both got dressed.
âYou know where I live if you ever want to do this again.â You chuckled as you walked him out.
âIâll keep that in mind.â He kissed your cheek as he opened the door.
âTravel safe.â You smiled out and he left your apartment.
What a night that was, part of you hoped you would hear from him again, but were also happy if it was just a one night stand with the man made of Chocolate Thunder.

Anonymous requested: roommates Alex and Willie share a bed on the night of a storm and it becomes a habit, resulting with a confession and a kiss. (This was edited/simplified just to make it shorter.)
Sorry this has taken me so long to get round to! I absolutely loved the request and it was a joy to write, especially since Iâm so stuck in my JatP feels for the anniversary. Iâm always a sucker for a one bed trope too! I really hope you like it, thanks for the request!
Raging Storms and Lovesick Hearts
There were times that Alex wasnât sure if moving in with Willie was the best decision heâd ever made or the worst. In many ways, it was a decision he would never go back on â living with Luke and Reggie had been fun during the day, but apparently neither of them had ever heard of sleep and decided to make that Alexâs problem, so now that he lived with Willie it was nice to finally know what it felt like to be well-rested. It was also great because he got to spend much more time with Willie, something heâd craved for as long as heâd known him.
But that was also sort of the worst thing about it all.
Being around Willie all the time was beginning to drive Alex a little bit insane. Not in a bad way, it wasnât like he felt stifled or had grown bored or frustrated by Willieâs near-constant presence in his life. If anything, it was the opposite. Nowadays, he got to see every version of Willie, not just the smiley, put-together version he saw when they met up on odd weekends. Now he got to see tired Willie, just rolled out of bed, still unsteady on his feet from sleep; he saw even more of the kind, generous, fair Willie who offered to do the dishes whenever Alex cooked dinner; he saw the childishly exhausted Willie who crashed on the couch and slept for three hours every time he got back from the skatepark; he saw adorably sleepy Willie at night when it was nearing midnight and he was reluctantly going to bed, eyes already drooping closed; he saw paint-splattered Willie, brushes tucked behind his ears and shoved into his hair, headphones in, working tirelessly on some big piece that Alex admired every stage of; sometimes, he saw a version of Willie that made his heart ache, a broken version of Willie with tears running down his cheeks as he wiped furiously at his eyes as Alex did everything in his power to console him. He saw every version of Willie and he wanted them all so badly, but he couldnât have any of them.
And sure, heâd brought this upon himself. When the guy heâd been pining over for exactly one year had asked if he wanted to move in, he could have guessed that it would ruin him, and he could have said no. It wouldâve been easy.
But Alex had seen the smile on Willieâs face, the excited glint in his eye about the prospect of living together, and his affirmative answer had been out of his mouth before heâd given it a second thought. He was paying the price for his thoughtlessness now, condemned to watch Willie be anything but his for as long as they lived together. Frankly the whole thing was exhausting â he had to wonder if that was adding to him getting a good nightâs sleep every night.
There was another reason he preferred nights now, not just because he could rest easily. Night was the only time he didnât see Willie, the only time he could get a little respite from his aching heart, lie alone in the dark and pretend he was the only person on Earth. Maybe it was a little lonely and more than a little sad to think of things that way, but it was a change from his usual pining at the very least. He thought that having that time to escape his feelings was definitely doing him some good.
Until the night of the storm.
There had been warnings about it all week. Alerts popping up on Alexâs phone, breaking news plastered on every TV he saw, articles about finding shelter and stocking up on food just in case the storm was worse than they thought. It was only supposed to be a passing thing, been and gone overnight, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
It had been raining all day, a dismal drizzle, the kind of rain that was so fine you didnât realise you were soaked until you felt your clothes sticking to your skin. But around midnight, everything kicked off. Alex lay in bed, toying with a fraying thread on the duvet cover, listening to the rain hammering against the windows hard enough to rattle their frames, the wind whistling as it bled through the streets outside, the claps of thunder loud enough to deafen as they came just seconds after bursts of lightning illuminated his entire room. He would be lying if he said he wasnât a little bit frightened, but he curled up tighter in his bed, pulling the covers close, and tried to force sleep.
A knocking sound made his eyes snap open. At first, he wondered if heâd imagined it, or if it was the sound of something hitting his window, but then it came again. And yes, it was definitely a knock. A knock at his bedroom door. A knock on his bedroom door at half-midnight in the middle of a storm. And there was only one person it could be.
Alex stretched as he swung his long legs out of the bed and flicked his bedside lamp on. He pulled open the bedroom door, squinting in the sudden burst of light from the hallway, and was met by a timid-looking Willie with his hair braided back, wearing his pyjamas, fist still sheepishly raised as if to knock on the door again.
âHey,â Alex said, voice low with fatigue. He tried to stifle a yawn as he scrunched his eyes, forcing the tiredness out of them. âIs everything okay?â
He must have not hidden his exhaustion as well as heâd tried because Willie winced before saying, âSorry. Did I wake you up?â
âNo, no,â Alex assured him, âI couldnât sleep anyway. The storm is too loud.â Willie nodded awkwardly, casting his gaze around, seemingly trying to look anywhere but at Alex. It was strange â Willie wasnât the type to avoid talking to someone, especially if it was Alex, who was suddenly left feeling very concerned. âIs it⊠Is that why youâre awake too?â
âKind of,â Willie replied, a half-smile on his face that quickly flickered out of existence. He shook his head, taking a few steps back. âItâs silly. Donât worry about it actually. Iâll go back to my room. I shouldnât have bothered you.â
âHey, no,â Alex protested, clutching Willieâs wrist as he tried to turn and walk away, stopping him in his tracks. Willie didnât turn to face him, but did stop trying to leave, so Alex took that as a victory. âYou could never bother me. And whatever it is, Iâm sure itâs not silly.â
Slowly, Willie turned back around to face him, some mixture of hope and nervousness dancing in his eyes. When Willie looked down again, Alex followed his line of sight and saw that he still had a hold of Willieâs wrist. He dropped it suddenly, instantly aware that heâd been holding on too long and if he wasnât careful Willie might take that to mean something that Alex definitely couldnât have him knowing which would introduce a whole different kind of storm. (But before he let go, he could have sworn he felt Willieâs pulse racing; maybe it was his nerves, but maybe it was something else⊠something Alex didnât want to get his hopes up about.)
âItâs just⊠Iâm not really great with storms,â Willie admitted softly, meeting Alexâs eyes again. âThey freak me out. I was just going to ask if I could⊠if I could, you know, sleep in here with you tonight? If itâs totally out of line you can say no, I get it, man, I wonât be upââ
Alex shook his head, not wanting to let him spiral, knowing that never ended up well for anyone. There was a pretty major part of him panicking over the fact that Willie was going to spend the night in his room, but that part was outweighed by the even bigger part of him that was worried and concerned for Willie, the part of him that wanted to protect Willie at all costs.
âNo, no, itâs alright,â he said, interrupting Willie before he got too lost in his own head. âCome on, you can sleep in here. I donât mind.â
It was only as the two of them backed into the room and Alex shut the door, blocking out all the light from the hallway and leaving them dimly lit by just his bedside lamp, that Alex remembered that his room was very small and ill-equipped for impromptu sleepovers. Which was to say, there was only one bed.
His internal panicking doubled in an instant. Because there werenât many options here. He could make Willie sleep on the floor, which seemed incredibly harsh and unfair considering the state heâd just come to Alex in. He could sleep on the floor himself, which he really didnât want to do because it would be cold down there and he didnât like the idea of being able to see underneath his bed. They could relocate to Willie room down the hall where there was a small sofa that one of them (probably Alex) could sleep on, and theyâd still be in the same room, but he knew they were both tired and switching rooms sounded like a lot of effort. Which just left sharing the bed, and truth be told, Alex was utterly terrified by the idea.
He was about to say something, ask Willie what he thought the best course of action was, but the words died in his mouth as he saw that Willie was already climbing into the bed. He already seemed much more at ease, the worry lines around his face softening as he closed his eyes. After yet another brief panic, Alex got into the bed again and laid down beside him.
He could hardly hear the raging storm over the incessant beating of his own lovesick heart.
The whole thing felt so intimate even though there was nothing overtly intimate about it. Really it was just one friend helping another, Alex being there for Willie when he was frightened, lending him a bed and a comforting presence. But they were so close, touching all along one side of Alexâs body, their breathing synced, the world around them slowly fading into nothingness until it was just the two of them.
After some time, it was impossible to tell exactly how long, Willie said, âThank you, Alex.â
Alex sighed quietly, letting his eyes fall closed. He shuffled ever so slightly closer to Willie on the bed and as his tiredness overtook him he lost a little control over his inhibitions. Before he knew it, heâd thrown an arm around Willieâs waist, holding him close, their bodies curled together. When he registered what heâd done, he almost pulled away, but Willie relaxed into him so he let his arm stay where it was.
âDonât mention it,â Alex whispered to the darkness around them. âIâm always going to be here whenever you need me.â
In moments, they were both asleep, the storm still raging outside.
*
When Alex woke up the next morning, the storm had all but died. He could still hear the gentle pitter-patter of rain drumming on the windows and roof, but the wind had long since ceased, as had the thunder and lightning that had lit up the night. He exhaled contentedly, relaxing against the warmth on the left side of his body, and nearly drifted off to sleep.
But then he realised what â or rather who â that warmth was.
The events from the night before came flooding back to his with all the ferocity of the storm itself. Willie coming to him in the middle of the night, how frightened he had seemed, how Alex had offered up his room, and how theyâd fallen asleep tangled together. Now they had woken up in the exact same way, and Alex had no idea what to do about it.
If he moved, he risked waking Willie and that was a conversation he would rather avoid. But if he stayed still, Willie would eventually wake up and heâd still have to have that awkward âremember last nightâ conversation. There was really no winning here. Even in a situation where he was cuddling the love of his life, he couldnât come out unscathed.
So, he went for the slightly immature third option and opted to feign sleep, letting the whole thing be Willieâs problem whenever he woke up.
And eventually he did, not long after Alex. When Alex felt him stir and stretch, he tried to slow his breathing, keep his eyes closed only gently, and even let out a few fake little snores to try and sell the piece. His eyes were closed, so he had no idea if Willie even looked at him, but moments later Willie slipping out from his grasp and Alex heard the tell-tale creak of his bedroom door. Only when he heard it click shut did he breathe a long sigh of relief.
Honestly, he had thought that would be it. One night together and then Alex could get back to his nights of peaceful sleep. Only there were two things in the way of that:
One â suddenly, without Willie sleeping in his bed, Alex found that sleep was much harder to come by.
Two â after that night, Willie slept in Alexâs bed more often than not.
Alex really had no idea how it became so routine, but it did. About a week after the storm, Willie knocked on his door again and told Alex heâd had a nightmare, asking to sleep in his bed again. And who was Alex to refuse? So theyâd slept in the same bed again, theyâd woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
Then just two nights later, Alexâs resolve had broken and something had possessed him to go to Willieâs room and invite him back to his own. He had made up some flimsy excuse, something about his heater having broken and him needing warmth, but Willie hadnât questioned it. Theyâd slept in the same bed again, theyâd woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
And the very next night, they hadnât even discussed it before the two of them just went straight to Alexâs room and climbed into bed together. Theyâd slept in the same bed again, woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
For something so focused on sleep, it was ridiculously tiring.
After it had gone on for a few weeks, Alex had to wonder if maybe this whole thing meant something. If maybe he wasnât alone in his feelings. If maybe Willie felt the same, but had similar hang-ups to Alex â he didnât want to ruin their friendship, didnât want to embarrass himself by admitting to unrequited love, didnât even know how to bring it up. Maybe sleeping by each otherâs side had become something of a safety net for them, a teetering middle ground on the border of friendship and something else entirely.
And as Alex lay awake, head rested on Willieâs chest, listening to his heartbeat, he knew suddenly that he had to push it. No matter how much that frightened him, he had to take that leap and push them into the uncertain territory that was something other than friendship.
When he sensed Willie waking up, he did not pretend to be asleep.
He eased his head off Willieâs chest and rolled over to lay on his front, watching Willie as he blinked awake endearingly. Alexâs heart was practically beating out of his chest, but he knew he had to do it. He had to take that leap.
âGood morning,â he said quietly.
Willie smiled gently, rubbing at his tired eyes and pushing his hair out of his face. âGood morning, hotdog.â
âI think we need to talk,â Alex said without preamble. It wasnât the most natural segue into the matter at hand, but that hardly seemed to matter right then.
Willie blinked, clearly a little surprised, but then he nodded. Alex took a deep breath, steeling himself, and let it out.
âI really like you, Willie,â he said, maintaining eye contact even though it was the most petrifying thing heâd ever done. âLike, a lot. So much that itâs been kind of driving me crazy for a year now. Iâve wanted to tell you how I feel for about a year now, but every time I tried all this doubt and anxiety just told me it wasnât worth it and that you could never like me the way I like you. And I believed it. I never said anything, and I fooled myself into thinking Iâd be alright if we were just friends. But after all this, sharing a bed almost every night and then pretending it never happened⊠itâs proved to me how much I need you. I canât sleep without you next to me, Willie. I want you by my side all the time. All of you. So, if Iâm not reading this whole thing dramatically wrong, then I want to finally ask you to⊠to be my boyfriend.â
For a long moment, Willie said nothing. He held eye contact, like he was searching Alexâs eyes for the truth, whatever it might have been. But Alex had said the whole truth. Heâd let it all out, heâd told Willie he needed him. All he could do was hope that Willie needed him too.
The moment ended abruptly when Willie breathed out and almost silent, âYes,â and then surged forward to kiss Alex.
He was kissing him.
This was a possibility that Alex had never allowed himself to entertain, a thought heâd never followed up, a scenario heâd never imagined. He had known that once he thought about kissing Willie, he would be ruined if it never happened. But the real thing was better than anything Alex could have thought up in his wildest dreams anyway. It was like a muffled explosion â both harsh and soft, near and far, dangerous and safe.
When they separated, Alex rested his forehead against Willieâs trying to get his breath back and his heartrate under control.
âIâd been wondering if I should say something,â Willie chuckled, stroking his fingers through Alexâs hair. âYou beat me to it.â
Alex smiled and pressed another soft kiss to Willieâs lips. âDoesnât matter. We got there eventually.â
The next morning when they both woke up in Alexâs bed, Alex didnât need to feign sleep. He pressed a kiss to his boyfriendâs cheek and pulled him tighter. He thought that after months of missed opportunities, they definitely deserved a lazy morning in bed together.

You loved Peter. You were in love with him and, through your blind innocence, he had convinced you that he felt the same.Â
When he said you two couldnât be together, you didnât understand. Youâd spent the entire summer going on little dates and Peter taught you so much about sex and pleasure. When the summer was over and you wanted more, he up and left you.Â
It took you a long time to heal from it. At least, you thought you had healed.Â
âDo you want to wait in the car?â Ethan asked.Â
You felt your eyes welling with tears but you quickly pretended like you were fine. You turned to your boyfriend, smiling, âNo, of course not. Letâs go.â
You never told him the extent of what happened between you and Peter. Until you met your boyfriend, you hadnât realized how corrupted you had been. Peter had violated your trust and innocence. He did things to you that a brother should never even think to do.Â
Your visit home began smoothly. Happy was interrogating Ethan like usual, you were helping May out in the kitchen, and Peter called to say that he wasnât going to make it.Â
It was getting late, you were about to doze off as you rested your head on your boyfriendâs chest. Happy had chosen some old movie and the four of you piled into the living room to enjoy some more family time.Â
Your boyfriend traced his fingers over the skin of your arm, making little shapes, and, although you were sure he didnât notice, it always comforted you. You were about to close your eyes when suddenly the front door opened. May stood, going to greet Peter at the door, and your heart began to pound in your chest.Â
âPeter, you made it!â As the two stepped into the living room, you sat up, taking in his appearance. He didnât look much different, just a bit more tired in his eyes. By his duffle bags and casual clothing, you could tell he had just gotten off a flight.Â
Both May and Happy were talking but their voice was muffled as you and Peter stared into each other.Â
As Peterâs eyes found the hands wrapped around your waist, something deep within him snapped. Peterâs jaw clenched as he heard his Aunt May say, âY/N? No hugs?â
You faked a smile, Peter knew better than to believe it. You grabbed your boyfriendâs hand, urging him to stand up with him, âSorry, Iâm just so tired,â As you approached Peter, you made sure to only give him a side hug, âPeter, this is my boyfriend.â
Your boyfriend was a little nervous to be meeting The Spider-man but he tried not to fanboy as he shook Peterâs hand, âItâs so nice to meet you, man.â
For the first time, you actually saw that Peter was bothered by something. He was usually so confident, especially around his family.Â
âYeah, same,â Peter spoke through clenched teeth, trying to fake a smile of his own, âYou guys are watching a movie? Which one?â
âYeah, Happy actually-â
You interrupted May, âI think weâre actually going to turn in. You missed a lot of the movie anyway, they already killed the evil aliens.â
Peter looked you over, gripping the strap of his bag tightly, and you could feel the anger radiating off of him, âOkay, well, Iâll make Ethanâs bed on the couch.â
âWait, heâs going to stay with me in my room,â You said and both May and Happy paused awkwardly.Â
âY/N, you remember the rules. No boys in your room until youâre married,â Happy spoke, acting as fatherly as he could.Â
If only they knew what kind of things had happened in your room. Your shoulders slumped and you looked at Ethan who was more than willing to not anger Happy, âFine, I just want to sleep.â
+
Your old room was just like you had left it. You walked around it, now dressed in the matching pink set that was your pajamas, examining all the items of your past. You saw the pile of stuffed animals in the corner, the dollhouse you were way too old to play with, and your shelf of romance novels.Â
As your eyes examined your canopy-covered bed, you saw yourself. You were shirtless, only wearing a pair of white panties, and you were sat on your knees. One of your favorite stuffed animals, Boris the Bear, was sitting between your legs. Its empty eyes stared up at you, innocent and not at all deserving of what Peter wanted you to do it.Â
He was touching himself as he watched you, âJust-â A groan, âJust rub yourself against his nose.â
You did as he said, feeling that new sense of pleasure as you moved your hips back and forth. By how hard he was, how fast he was pumping his hand, you knew he liked it. You always liked when Peter was happy. Why wouldnât you want your brother to be happy?
âGood girl. Youâre my good girl, arenât you?â
âYes, yes, Peter-â
You looked up, startled, as Peter appeared in front of you, âAre you daydreaming? You didnât even hear me come in.â
His chest was bare, and you didnât think it was possible for him to become more muscular. Years of being Spider-man can do that to someone, you assumed, âGet out-â
âThinking of me?â You shook your head as Peter moved closer, cornering you.
âOf course not,â You lied. You had imagined this moment a million times, finally airing out your grievances and telling him how bad he hurt you. Now, you felt you were paralyzed as you took in his scent and felt the heat radiating off of him, âPeter. Get. Out.â
Peter scoffed, âYouâre mad at me? Is it because of that boring piece of white bread sleeping on the couch downstairs?â
Anger rose in your chest, âDonât talk about him that way. You have no right,â Seeing you all flustered only made him want you more. You were backed up against the wall, his hands on either side of your head as he stared into your eyes.
âI have no right?â Peterâs brow furrowed, âYouâre my baby sister, of course I do.â
âYouâre a predator, Peter,â You stated firmly which made his eyes darken, âYou donât care about me. You want one thing and now youâve got it.â
âYour innocence? Thatâs true, I do have that,â Peter spoke more confidently than you expected, âBut thatâs not all I want.â
You pushed at his chest, trying to get him away from you but he swiftly grabbed your wrist and pinned them above your head. You struggled against his superhuman strength as he leaned in to kiss your neck, âPeter, no more! You lost your freaking mind a long time ago and all of this ends today. Weâre done.â
You were stronger than you used to be. You had to be.Â
He shushed you, âYouâll like it,â He dipped his hands between the fabric of your pajama bottoms and panties, feeling the slickness between your neck, âIs this from earlier when you were daydreaming about me?â
You shook your head, âWeâre done, Peter. I-I have a boyfriend-â
âThen why are you getting wet for me?â Peter rubbed his fingers in circles as he continued to kiss your neck. He leaned into your ear, your heart pounding in your chest, âIâm gonna fuck you against this wall, Y/N, and I'm going to make you happy as any good brother would do too.â
This was wrong, you repeated it over and over in your mind. Everything he had done was devious and predatory. He took advantage of you yet, when your lips met, you felt your lips melt against his.Â
Why was it such a heavenly feeling to have his lips on yours when it should feel like sin?
It was so passionate but clumsy as he pulled down your pajama bottoms and panties. It was like he might explode if he wasnât inside of you in the next ten seconds. Your arms wrapped around his neck as he slid down his own boxers, letting his cock spring free. He grabbed one of your legs, lifting it as he positioned himself at your entrance.Â
His tongue licked at your own as he slammed himself inside of you. It was so rough that one of your framed pictures fell off the wall. It was never like this that summer you spent together, Peter was always gentle with you but now he was a complete animal.Â
He moved in and out of you quickly and, you thought it might hurt, but it was just as euphoric as the kiss. He swallowed your moans with his mouth as he pounded into you. Your nails scratched at his broad back, his cock hitting your sweet spot with every thrust.Â
You both came hard, shaking as you gripped each other for support. Peter pressed against you, leaning into the wall, as he caught his breath.Â
As soon as it over, reality hit you like a brick. What had you done? Youâd manage to hurt Ethan and yourself so quickly. You pushed Peter away, brushing past him as you struggled to pull up your panties. A strangled cry left your lips as the emotions hit you all at once.Â
Peter reached out to grab your hand, pulling you back, âHey, hey, itâs okay,â You fell to your knees and Peter joined you quickly. He hugged you and you leaned your head against his shoulder, sobbing, âYou did good. Youâre always such a good girl for me, Y/N.â
âI hate you,â The words choked you as they struggled to leave your mouth.
You hated that deep down you craved his approval. Craved his pleasure.Â
âBut youâre mine, Y/N. I shouldâve made that lesson number one,â He ran his soothing fingers through your hair, brushing away the shame, âDonât worry, weâll start our lessons again.â

the delicate art of a criminal mind [a.m-r. ; b.d.h.]

Billieâs eyes traveled slowly down your body, mind drinking in your figure as a delicate smirk probed at her lips. âHave I ever told you how much I adore you, sweetheart?â
You couldnât help the laugh that tumbled from your throat or the smile on your face. The blonde moved carefully behind you, letting her hands fall against the curves of your hips where they rested gently. She liked to hold you between her two hands.
âOften.â You replied simply which only caused her to let out a breathy chuckle and press a chaste kiss to the base of your neck. Billie locked eyes with you through the mirror in front of you, eyebrow twitching in amusement as she watched you adjust your earrings carefully.
She had bought you them last week, in a small shop in Miami, refusing to show you the price tag even after she bought them. It was often that she showered you in small, expensive gifts. Afterall, she believed she had to pay you back for kidnapping you in the first place.
It wasnât planned, necessarily. Your mother was a police chief in the small town you lived in who had been hunting after Billie and her team for months. As crazy as it seemed as you stood there so intimately with her, she was a criminal and had been for most of her life.
It started when she was younger, stashing trinkets into her backpack from stores and gifting them to her friends. Then she moved on to bigger things, clothing and electronics from the mall that she would keep just for the thrill of knowing she had them.
Then came the bank heist. She had gathered her team, team being her good friend Misty and Mistyâs girlfriend, Cordelia. They forced their way into the bank and forced the money into the bags as swiftly as they could.
By the time they got outside, they was surrounded with bags upon bags of cash tucked in her teamâs hands. Completely drowning under the police presence, they had no choice but to shovel into the police car closest to them and pray they were capable of getting away.
What Billie hadnât accounted for was the fact that you would be sitting in the passenger seat of the car she rushed, waiting for your mother to return and finish, what had started off as, your ride-along for the day.
Nevertheless, she had no time to think before she was barreling down the road and hoping she could figure out what to do with you once she was out of such traffic.
In the beginning the two of you hated each other but the more time you spent together the more you fell for one another.
Eventually, you started dating and had been growing strong since then. Now you were here, the four of you had been on the run together for 3 years and had covered most of the U.S..
You were the current occupant of an old, run-down hotel in LA. Tonight, you were headed to a new club that had just opened up downtown.
Billie called it âhiding in plain sightâ but really it was just an excuse to get you into the black dress she had loved so much and grinding up against her into the late hours of the night.
"I love you so much." Billieâs voice was low and raspy, the way she knew you liked. "I love you, darling." You returned.
Weird looks were shot to Billie from her two partners, they had never seen the woman be so affectionate towards someone so openly.
It was easy to say that Billie had never been affectionate to anyone until you came along.
Billie was the leader of the three; easily the brains of the group. She was cunning and persuasive and intelligent; all things you'd think a criminal would have to be to do the things that they would do. She was damn near a loose cannon and not many people risked getting too close.
Cordelia and Misty were the only friends Billie really had and she didn't mind one bit. She worked better alone.
Never get in Billie Dean Howardâs way; everyone knew that by now.
Misty was what most people would call the muscle of the group, though all three of them could easily take down someone on their own. She was tactically trained and she could easily rough someone up.
She always wore a set of thick leather gloves around her slender fingers, which meant that she was ready to start swinging anytime she might have needed to. It kept people from messing with Billie and Cordelia and it got them whatever they needed and wanted.
Cordelia, on the other hand, was more of the beauty of the group. Not that she couldn't rough someone up if it came down to it, but there was something about her that drew people in. She was incredibly beautiful and she had no problem using that to her own advantage. She could get anything with a bat of her deep brown-colored doe eyes and, of course, her habit of biting her lip didn't hurt when added to the mix.
She was irresistible, especially in the type of clothes she was wearing now; a short black dress that hugged every delicate inch of her body. She had the perfect hips to fill in a dress like that. She was the team's biggest distraction.
âUh...B?â Misty interrupted, her eyes scanning over her phone screen. âMaybe we should just stay here tonight.â She proposed, glancing up at the blonde.
Billie cocked her eyes, hesitantly pulling away from you to sit on the end of the bed. âWhyâs that?â She pulled a cigarette between her lips and lit it, watching glancing between her two partners.
"Ally is in town and by the looks of it, sheâll be in the exact same place we will.â She turned a phone around to display a text sent from her from one of her former accomplices, it read âlook who i just ran intoâ with a photo of the woman attached.
âWe need to take her out.â Cordelia piped up, moving to sit on the dresser across from the bed. âTonight.â
Ally Mayfair-Richards was another criminal, just as the three girls were. She was the only woman or man who had ever dared to step up towards Billieâs authority. When it became two much, the three girls parted ways with Ally and decided to stick together without her.
Since then, they had all been rivals and avoided each other at all costs in fear one party would cause harm to the other or worse; theyâd all get caught together.
Billie knew that all she needed was to get the cops and Ally in the same place and let the law do it's job to rid her of her rival. It wasn't like they wouldn't know her from her face, they'd been chasing her for almost seven years now, but it wasn't like they didn't know Billieâs face either.
âHow are we supposed to take her out and go unnoticed? Thatâs fucking impossible without getting our own asses caught.â Billie huffed as Misty began to pace in thought.
It was silent for a moment until Cordeliaâs face lit up, a look that had caused Billie trouble since the very beginning. It was never good when Cordelia gave that look. âY/N!â She suddenly blurted out, face curling into a cunning smirk.
All three of you made a weird face at her, âWhat about her?â Billie questioned cautiously. âWe can use her.â Cordelia answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, âshes smoking hot and everyone knows Ally is a sucker for an attractive woman.â
Billieâs eyes widened as she rose to her feet before narrowing at the woman across from her, âDonât even fucking think about it.â She hissed, hand already balling at her side.
She moved in front of you, blocking you from Cordeliaâs view, âGet that thought out of your thick skull because itâs not happening.â
Misty sighed, âCome on B, all sheâs gotta do is a little bit of grinding and a lot of distracting and we can handle the rest.â Everything was quiet as Billie glanced between Cordelia and Misty, âNo.â She mumbled harshly.
Misty huffed, âItâs our only option, B. Ally doesnât know what Y/N looks like and by now, sheâs grown so much she could easily hide from the cops. Itâs perfect!â
âItâs Ally to prison or us, you choose Billie.â Cordelia added, causing Billie to huff and glance at you.
âI donât mind.â You finally spoke, playing with Billieâs fingers gently. âIâve always wanted to help.â You pouted, knowing Billie had a weak spot for your eyes.
After a moment of silence she sighed and stepped towards the two women across the room, âAnything happens to her and Iâll send you both to prison myself, whether I have to join you or not.â Cordelia and Misty both grinned as they murmured their enthusiasm and disappeared down the hall to their own room.
Billie turned to you as soon as the door clicked closed, pinning you against the mirror you had been getting ready in. You offered a sheepish smile to which she shook her head, â Thatâs not going to work this time. Anything goes wrong and I swear youâll never get to help us again, do you understand me?â
Her eyes watched you, fueled with fire. You gulped and nodded as she pressed her lips to yours firmly, gripping your hips with a new kind of power she had not had a few minutes ago.
By exactly eight-thirty, the four of you rolled up to the club. Lights and loud music from inside were already screaming at you and you could feel the music vibrating against the concrete. Billie was starting to get nervous, all thought sheâd never openly admit it.
Cordelia turned from her place in the drivers seat and glanced at you in the back, âAlright chica, all youâve got to do is dance. Thereâs a cop down the street and weâll get him on Allyâs trail. Weâll all be keeping an eye on you. Youâve just got to keep her attention long enough. Just be sexy, thatâs all you have to do.â Billie huffed in protest at the last part, her grip on your leg becoming tighter.
Once Misty and Cordelia had scurried out of the car, Billie turned to you and pressed her lips against your ear, âIâll be watching you, little one.â She watched the shiver rack your spine before jumping out of the car and disappearing into the club.
You let out a heavy breath before getting out and making your way inside. Immediately, you were met with the sexual tension suffocating the room as bodies moved against one another.
You located Billie across the room, settled at the end of the bar and the other two women situated in a booth across the room.
You locked eyes with Billie and winked descretely before settling into an open seat and ordering the strongest drink you could find; you were going to need it.
No more than ten minutes past before you could feel someone standing behind you, a hand brushed against your hip as they sat down and you jumped slightly.
âDidnât mean to scare you.â The woman mumbled softly as she settled into the seat next to you with her arm rested on the bar. âLet me get you another drink.â She offered.
Her voice was quiet and thick as she leaned into you, a strand of her hair brushing against your shoulder.
Looking up, you locked eyes with her and caught a blush that began to spread across your face. You nodded softly, regaining composure as you stuttered something along the lines of âsureâ and allowed her to lean into you as she laughed, âNo need to be nervous, beautiful.â
âI saw you from across the room, no woman as beautiful as yourself should sit alone.â Mentally, you rolled your eyes at her cheesy confidence, watching closely as she licked her lips before ordering two drinks.
You were so caught up in staring at her that you couldnât even catch what she was talking about. That was, until her fingers snapped in front of your face and you had to force yourself into reality, âHuh, what?â
She shook her head and laughed, âI asked you your name.â She repeated, leaning in so that you could hear her better. âY/N. Yours?â You answered softly, taking a sip of your drink.
She licked her lips once again, âAlly.â Your eyes widened before you quickly corrected your face. She propped her elbow on the counter as you glanced at the clock nervously. Now that you knew it was her you were talking to, you were growing nervous.
âWould you like to dance?â You questioned, shaking of the nervousness that probed at your stomach. She simply smiled and pushed herself onto her feet, allowing you to stand. She followed you out onto the dance floor, waiting until you were situated before letting her hands find the dip in your waist and pulling you to her closely.
As you started to roll your hips into her, she leaned in until her mouth was lingering against your ear, âYou really are a sight for sore eyes. You were having trouble concentrating as her lips began to trail down your neck.
âT-thanks.â You let your eyes flutter closed, almost finding yourself enjoying the feeling of her lips on your skin until the thought of Billie popped into your head and your eyes snapped open again.
Ally was surely leaving a hickey on your neck, and the eerie feeling of someone watching you was bubbling in your chest though you couldnât figure out which direction it was coming from.
One again, you let the feeling of Ally pressed against you and the base rattling your tipsy brain take oven. âYouâre enjoying this just as much as I am.â Ally mumbled from behind you, fingers digging into your skin.
You couldnât deny it. You had Billie, you would never be able to deny the love you had for her. But in that moment you craved Ally.
And you couldnât stop it. It was eating you up inside but you let the alcohol pumping in your veins control you and simply nodded and turned to face her.
You couldnât help but notice she smelled like honey. As you took a deep breath, a fire ignited somewhere within you. It was very different from the strawberries and cream smell you were used to with Billie.
Your little bubble with Ally was burst as the door to the club swung open and a cope stepped in, his eyes glancing around the room as if he was already looking for someone.
You felt Ally tense beside you, before your eyes met and her face spread into a mischievous grin. âYouâre coming with me.â And with that she was tugging you out the back door.
Billie felt a heaviness in her chest, one that made it heard to breathe and made her heart feel as if it was beating so hard in on her chest that it was rattling her bones.
Her eyes had turned a violent black color as her fingernails dig into her palms so persistently that she created crescent shapes in her skin.
She could have killed someone right in that moment.
She was only brought out of her state by someone clearing their throat from beside her and turned to meet her partners, who both look d so nervous they could faint.
âWe lost her.â Misty squeaked out, they had all taken their eyes off the dancing girls for a split second and by the time their narrowed their attention, they were gone.
Billieâs eyes visibly darkened and Cordelia gulped nervously as Billie backed the two of them into a wall, âFind her. Or so help me God, youâre dead.â
Back outside, you and Ally slowed down next to a car you assumed to be hers. You could see the outline of two bodyguards through the tented windows.
Ally smirked, pressing you against the passenger door as her lips ghosted against yours; neither of you leaning in enough to fill the small gap.
âI-uh-â you mumbled underneath the taller woman, who let her eyes open again and pushed back slightly. âCome with me.â She stated quickly, taking your hand into hers, âwe can travel all around the world and stay in fancy hotels; honeymoon suits for just the two of us everywhere we go. I can spoil you and make you mine. I can care for you. I want to.â She was rambling.
She took your silence as a cue to continue on, âI know you just met me and there are so many things you donât know about me. There are so many things you deserve to know about me. I want to learn about you and let you learn about me.â She talked so quickly that she was having trouble catching her breath.
You took your bottom lip between your teeth, âAlly, I canât.â
You were thinking about Billie. You were thinking about all of the memories you shared. All the moments you shared. The moments filled with hatred, the moments fueled by love, the times you went wild in towns youâd never traveled to before and probably never would again, the words youâd exchanged, the intimate moment where the whole world melted and it was jus the two of you. There were the times you made love, when Billie really took her time worshiping you and your body. Then there were the more rough times, usually fueled by anger or Billieâs raging jealousy. Just an hour ago you couldn't have fathomed the thought of doing any of those things with anyone else. But here you were, possibly going to run away with a woman youâd not even known for a full half hour.
âI have someone and I love her, I really do. Sheâs given me everything Iâve ever wanted and I canât possibly betray her. Sheâs my soulmate.â
"You can't. Not if it's not me. I want you...I crave you...I need you." Allyâs voice was weak and she looked like she was ready to cry. Her chest heaved as she spoke, her voice wavering. "Please."
Your eyes locked with her, lip quivering as you a pressure in your chest.
A voice broke the two of you from your staring contest, "What the hell is going on here?" You could see Allyâs jaw lock as she turned towards the woman. "What do you want, Howard?" Ally moved between you and Billie, squaring her shoulders.
"I want what you took from me." Billie furrowed her eyebrows, training her eyes on you. You started to panic; on one hand you wanted to leave with Ally. Because you were attracted to her the moment you started talking. You couldnât explain it, like you had known her forever and you were only catching up. It was like those clichĂ© movies with the high-school sweethearts that loose touch and then reconnect. But on the other hand, you had been with Billie for so long and you loved her with your whole heart. You loved Billie so much it scared you. Billie was the type of first love that never went away. So you just stood there, looking between the two in agony.
"I haven't taken shit from you." Ally huffed, her eyes shooting daggers at the three girls in front of her. Misty and Cordelia stood tall at Billieâs sides, their eyes fixated on Ally.
Allyâs eyes flickered to you then back at Ally and you could see Ally tense even more. As Ally turned around, you could see the tears starting to pool in her eyes. "She's your..." Ally let out a deep sigh as you nodded.
Ally was sure you could hear her heart breaking in her chest. "Darling, come here." Billie said gently, motioning you to come to her. You hesitated for a second before slowly making her way over to her. You could just barely feel Allyâs hand brush against her wrist.
Billie quickly pulled you into her arms with a tight squeeze, "Thank God, youâre okay.â She breathed into your hair. You nuzzled your face in Billieâs neck and let the tears fall.
You had chosen Billie, you had chosen your home. You knew that, even if you had left with Ally, Billie would always be on your mind. You were in love.
The sound of Allyâs car pulling away caused both of you to let out a breath. Billie pressed your lips together before the sound of rapid footsteps and policemen shouting broke your moment. Billie pulled away, her face breaking into a wicked grin. "Run."
