Did James trust Remus during the Frist war?

(Not an analysis, that might come at some point but certainly not rn)

for me the not trusting Remus thing always fell really flat

One of the absolute canonical thing we know about Jame sis that he had a lot of loyalty

Also like while we're not given an exact date we know that James gave Remus a monthly allowance which is not something you give to someone you think is on the side of the fuy trying to kill you

As for him not knowing, I think there are multiple ways Remus would have not ended up knowing:

He was not the secret keeper, and was not a part of the ruse.

We have no idea when exactly the switch occurs, so it could have happened just a bit b4 Jily's murder; even if it was planned in advance

The only people who knew were Jily (the ones going in hiding), Sirius (the original Secret keeper and the one who suggested the switch) and Peter (the final secret keeper)

We also don't know exactly when Sirius brought the idea up, but if I remember correctly he was the secret keeper at some point so the switch happened after that.

Most people didn't know where Jily were hiding, so it's not even singling Remus out, they just kinda cut contact with everyone other than sirius and Peter, likely any communications done b/w Jily, Harry and Remus were done b/w Sirius.

We know for a fact that Remus was distant and secretive due to his mission, and as Sirius suspected hi it's more than likely that he semi-shut himself out from his friends

It's possible that his Sirius, Lily and Peter convinced him to hide it from everyone not a direct part of the ruse

I doubt James would have been busy trying to fight with Sirius (Who the traitor was/was not is a ery serious topic during the middle of the war, for obvi reasons) constantly over it

It's even possible that James asked them to tell Remus, but they didn't (there wasn't much James could do about this)

It's likely that Remus was extremely low contact to the point where it wouldn't have made sense (they trusted Peter completely) It is possible, if not very likely, that they did try and contact Remus but couldn't resulting in him never finding out

What with being on a secret werewolf mission thing, Remus might not have been easy to find

He might not even have been around to be told, and it's very unlikely Peter would have sent him a letter explaining anything (Jily and Harry's safety would be compromised very easily with it)

James probabaly didn't have much of a choice on who to tell and who to keep it a secret from. Sure, he, Harry and Lily were the ones getting protected, but Sirius and Peter were also in this, so it might have been their call

James wouldn't have told someone if Sirius (and likely Peter bc he wouldve preferred them doubting Remus than him) was uncomfortable with it.

Remus likely was acting sus so James migt not have thought he was the traitr but decided to let it go, esp bc it would have helped Sirius feel better.

James trusted Sirius enough that he may have let the issue go.

SWM was the ending if his friendship with Lily, not being hing upside down or the 'bullying'. Which, yeah, it wasn't bullying.

Let’s talk about the levicorpus incident.

It is literally Snape’s worst memory, meaning the literal worst thing that was ever done to him was hanging upside down. Harry does the same thing to Ron in the common room on accident to try out what the spell does and they all think it was a laugh. Later, after he sees the memory, he literally says that he couldn’t imagine anyone doing that to anyone…well…unless it was Fred and George doing it to someone like Draco Malfoy. That’s the thing! The Marauders were the Fred and George of that era and we all think of them as hilarious when there antics are towards someone we know is awful like Umbridge or Malfoy.

Facts: Snape was already in a group of friends who were looking to become Death Eaters. It was the middle of the first war. He had already learned to perform evil spells. This is evident in their duel after James puts him down where James uses hexes and jinxes, but Snape uses curses. The difference between these spells in the wizarding world is how we differentiate between light and dark magic.

In other words, the Marauders attacked someone who they believed to be their literal enemy, someone they thought would be out killing innocents in two years. And they were right.

tho ,, i think the setting (character + environment + time) and the prompt (au? canon? romance? slice of life? epic?) play into it. i think the differences that exist between portrayals of intimacy by east asian authors and by western authors largely stem from cultural philosophy, which could make some things jarring to those unfamiliar with either

tbh i'm the type of person who, when reading lit abt supposedly asian characters, would appreciate the story more if it was also true to the characters' culture, and so i'd also like to see them experience and understand love the same way asians experience and understand love. but that's just me (i know there are diaspora who like to see other things), and that's also for a concept that's more for peaceful romance/character-centric settings. it’d be a different case if the story is plot-driven, or historical, or apocalyptic

i personally prefer the nuance of intimacy in pieces by east asians bc that's what i like to see and what i'm familiar with. but either way, i don't mind the differences exist. it just means that there's a variety to all of our experiences. as long as it's written into the narrative in an organic manner, it will still feel like a love i can appreciate, whether romantic or platonic or anything in between.

the most common petname i've heard cn campus couples use is "baobao/baobei" (寶寶/寶貝), which means precious/baby/darling. for jp couples, tbrh i've never heard anything ,, my friends and cousins don't use petnames either

yes!!!! there’s a lot of reasons why i enjoy stsg fics and it’s because gojo and geto are always treated like people in stsg fics.....i’ve found that in a lot of reader insert fics you could replace gojo and geto with the male lead of those mafia boss stories on wattpad and it wouldn’t make a difference LMAO gojo and geto are often caricatures of themselves and it’s just something i’m personally not interested in.

also....i feel like there’s so much intimacy in how someone calls/says your name that just using pet names 24/7 gives it this superficial sense that i’m not really a fan of but then again, in fwb stories i totally understand.

another thing, I really feel like culture DOES play into it. obviously as asian people ourselves who come from a collectivist culture, our idea of love is different from the western concept of love. i feel like this especially comes into play when we see reader insert stories where the MC is super op and strong just so they can “match” gojo and gojo doesn’t need to worry about them even though it’s not even needed!! in asian cultures it’s not a burden to take care of people. it’s love. and i feel like western people don’t quite grasp that bc it’s such an individualist culture (this is a not nuanced at all / a generalization but u get the point)

UGH ok trying pt 2 again lol! I think the other big problem in D’s case is that he got into business with ppl he thought of as friends or at least good ppl&trusted that the “goodness” would dictate the business relationship. Nope. There’s a reason why even legit couples in Hwood get pre-nups.

I would hope that no one would sign a contract that literally says “u will be closeted indefinitely, u will marry ur psychobitch beard.”  No one with any sense would every knowingly agree to such terms.  I completely agree that when young actors enter into these agreements, they have no idea how much power they are giving up and how much they are yielding to the whims of those in power. Or how long i will last. Or how hard it will be to lie.  Or who it will hurt in the process.  And in D’s case, it is a lot of people that hold the power, his shit manager, his PR company, his beard, his boss, and his studio,  And I think each of these parties have done things for years to assure that they had complete control and power.  Each has an interest in not being revealed as an oppressor and that makes them want and need him to be closeted.  And it is frankly disgusting that the people that were entrusted with D’s life have virtually shit all over it for their own gain.  And worse because i agree, I think when D agreed to enter into these relationships, he thought he was making a wise choice.

Frankly I still don’t understand what they held over D to get him to agree to this “marriage” at all even knowing that they have the power to make his life hell, because honestly, i see no quality of life right now. He is literally wasting his days promoting her, traveling from time zone to time zone, not being at home, and not doing what he loves, acting or playing music. He is sham married to his “psychobitch beard” and is a living breathing ad and nothing more.  It is breaking my heart.  And if I know ONE THING about this mess is that he would never CHOOSE this life for himself.    So i ask the question i will likely never get an answer to, what did they do to him???

I would hope a prenup wasn’t necessary, because giving M any legal power scares me. A LOT.  This would give her the power to make decisions if D was unable to make decisions on his own and she would be able to trump his actual partner.  Add she can do as she pleases with his finances, and well, I would predict there would be no money in a year or so. She is hardly responsible.  I am really, really hoping that he did not legally bind himself to her.  However likely we won’t ever know.

I just really hope there is some plan in place. Otherwise, this could last a lifetime. I am petrified of her next move and I hope D really, really protected himself when this agreement was made.  This “lifestyle” cannot be sustained long-term. Nor do i see ONE benefit to D.  Please may this be a means to an end and not something that will last indefinitely. Because not only is she adversely affecting his well being, she is dragging down his character with each passing day. 

Another mystery, even if they want him closeted, why not with someone that is not harmful to him and that would ENHANCE his career??
