I don’t think of myself as being out of shape since I started exercising, but after playing with my niece and nephew yesterday, which involved throwing an (American) football, climbing a rope, and being spun on a tree swing, I’m more sore today than I think I’ve ever been lmao

IF NO ONE WILL SEND YOU DAD SON ASKS I WILL!!!
I was wondering about like the junkion culture? Or I guess more the necessity? To know how to repair things from literal junk. Like they repair themselves and the items they find and even build themselves from scraps so clearly it's a skill. Is that something g1 wreck would teach his son too? Like i think repairing stuff together or just learning tactile skills like that together is always rly sweet hehe
Also does tfa wreckgar end up on earth like in the animated series? Cos if he does I'm curious as to how he got there
YAYAY
Oh G1 Wreck would absolutely train TFA Wreck in every single skill he knows, repairing, scavenging, and fighting too — I like to think that the face markings are a symbol of leadership and also combat prowess, so if he wants to pass those traits down then training from day one is a given. Or maybe not from day one. There’s gotta be a few weeks of just holding him and teaching him to walk and talk.
Everything is brand new to TFA Wreck’s processor, so he’s constantly asking questions about what they’re doing, why they’re doing it, what all the different pieces of scrap components do and where it all comes from. He ends up inheriting his dad’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the storage halls after a while, and if you ask him where you can find the LEDs or some copper wires he’ll grab your servo and run you over to exactly where it is.
I can totally imagine there being a sort of coming-of-age ritual for younger Junkions where they have to defeat their mentor in combat, so the two of them train for months and months out in the badlands, and each day TFA Wreck gets better and better at fighting, and when the day finally comes where they fight for real G1 Wreck has literally never been happier to have his limbs knocked off his body. He’s just so proud of his boy!!!
And about Earth, I had an idea for one of the fics I was mulling over where Junk gets destroyed in some huge cataclysm. G1 Wreck is off-planet on boring diplomat adventures with Rodimus, so he survives, and TFA Wreck is somehow able to escape in time via the abandoned Space Bridge (love a bit of deep Junk lore. Did you know the planet is the result of a failed space bridge waste disposal project? Well now you do ^^) and he ends up on Earth, or some other nearby planet. Both of them, of course, are assuming the other is either missing/out of reach or dead.
It wouldn’t be a Joey headcanon without some miserable shit in there. TFA Wreck does not take this displacement situation well at all and his processor just freaks out on him. The only way he can cope with the loss in the moment is to just think about the first thing his dad ever said to him — which, when repeated in the presence of the people who find him, sure does sound like an introduction of his own, doesn’t it?
In a related vein, I don’t actually know what to call TFA Wreck in this AU, because I can’t imagine G1 Wreck-Gar would just straight up give his son his own name. Or maybe he would. I guess it is a TV trope to just have the son be called ‘Junior’ or whatever lol, but G1 Wreck is a British robot in my heart and we don’t call our kids ‘Junior’ over here. Any suggestions would be welcomed ^^

HARKER!!! How do you create and develop your OCs!!!! Your brain is so big!!!!
Whenever I make characters, I have a hard time getting past the surface level and really understanding what makes them tick. WHATS YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS? I am full of admiration.
honoured u think so!!! um Advices
when it comes to viddy game characters. make ur oc a product of the world and centred on the game’s main themes/conflicts. for example, dao has main themes like duty, vengeance, and sacrifice, so those are all good choices for what your character is About. bg3 so far seems to be about agency, bodily autonomy, power, and what it costs to achieve those things, so you want your character to be in dialogue with that. get that done, and congrats: everything in the game is now about your character and their journey personally! all quests & side quests will echo you and your character will have unique perspective on them
don’t be afraid to make the ‘wrong’ choices, or, more specifically, don’t rush into choosing the ‘right’ one. instead of thinking about the objectively best way to resolve a situation from your uninvolved position as the player, let your reactions be personal. your character isn’t always going to say and do the unbiased neutral best thing and that’s good!!
first of all try to think about your character’s frame of reference for it. everyone has a sort of reference library of experiences which they can use to interpret new circumstances. games are your friend and will usually try to help you with this; for example da2, a game in which your characters always has siblings, has a lot of sibling-focused quests that your character will have a unique take on. but it can be much simpler; what does your player character notice about an npc? do they have something in common? is your character physically stronger and bigger or smaller and weaker? what does your character assume about people who talk a certain way? how does any of that make them react to them? etc. etc. keep track in your head of how the location and enemy types make them feel too. my poor hawke had an ongoing anxiety meter to represent his dislike of real danger to his allies especially from darkspawn, and the more overloaded that was, the more rash and aggressively i would let him react. that was a fun way combat could affect other gameplay; for instance i fully killed some npcs that i could’ve let go, specifically because they’d knocked out one of my people in a fight
when getting into backstory try to sort of reverse engineer why they act the way they act? people tend to behave in certain ways because those are the methods that have gotten them through their life. what are the strategies that have helped them survive? being aggressive? being charming? following orders? staying on the sidelines? lying? and then you can sort of create the environment that encouraged them to be that way. (this doesn’t always mean complying with what the environment valued/expected/wanted of them; often defiance is what people needed to do to get through it with their soul intact.) that’s good for getting a little under their skin to see what makes them tick as u say
uhhh what else. try to be aware of their physicality and the way they look and move and how that affects others’ perception of them. how tactile are they and how much do they gesture? basically think about what comes across when you look at a companion talking and figure out what they get when they look at you. for example, i have a very tactile hawke and i typically imagine a lot more of that casual physical contact when i’m doing companion conversations, and a lot more imposing physical aggression when he’s talking to people he doesn’t like. obviously this requires you doing a bit of imaginative work on top of the game visuals but i believe in you. it just makes them come alive a bit
that’s my kind of... standardised method... more generic advice: people don’t have good or bad traits they have traits which are good or bad in extremes and sticking to a trait whether the consequences are good or bad is often fun; don’t be afraid to be bitchy or aggressive when the occasion calls for it, you often get a lot more life out of this and if you can love a companion for it they can still love you; try maintaining “in character” priorities during combat or when just walking around and figuring out what they’re noticing; sometimes making a big decision that seems “out of character” is actually character-defining because you discover what makes them break from their usual nature
i hope that helps?? that’s how i do things anyway :)

character profile ; voidwalker. (original character, destiny based.)
name ; kaifeng andar. species ; awoken, unknown what generation. seems to be slightly mutated with reptile-like features. pronouns ; he/him/they/them. gender ; nonbinary. sexuality ; pansexual, preference towards men. class/subclass ; void warlock - voidwalker. ghost ; wen-yan (they/them) age ; going onto second century alive as a lightbearer. appears to be in mid 30s.
physical description ; kaifeng is a tall and slender person of about 6'7" height without armor, 6'9" with. though, he's most usually seen with a heel of some sort when in civvies, so typically it adds on a few inches (nighthawk's given them shit for it). they have a deep mauve purple complexion, with tiny white freckles dotted across their body ; notably they are spaced out and few in general, but some are more clustered around their arms.
their eyes are a bio-luminescent white, but unlike the 'usual' (for lack of better words) eyes of the awoken, his pupils are reptilian. almost draconic. kai's hair is depigmented and completely stark white at natural state, however they have a ritual, every week or two to dye it jet black. almost slightly too black for natural black hair. and it goes all the way down to his calves, tips ending just above ankles ; typically they're seen either in a giant bun for helmet wear, or two twintails that cycle between brains and loose ponytail.
they are usually seen in their shadow armor and twin dragon bond. or if in civvies, usually something spacelike, starry, purple/black, etc. his markings are a deep purple that accent cheeks, eyebrows, and eyes, to which they usually even further accent with sharp eyeliner.
due to their light and the way the void interacts with them, kai's fingers and hands have been dyed a dark purple. he usually dons gloves when outside of armor.
light abilities ; kaifeng has a very capricious and unpredictable relationship with their light, as the beginning of their revival was the worst awful time to him to get it under control. due to the nature of his previous life and things that nyx haneul yuan lived with, the void interacts with kai most typically in hallucinations and visions. they experience vivid to small ones : auditory, tactile, and visual alike. it was antagonistic to them for a long time, leading to several breaks from reality and quite a lot of paranoia. however, as kai began to work with the void and figure out how to truly master his light, it became slightly more benevolent. still mostly neutral. helps quite a lot with reflexes in combat.
they do not use any other subclass other than void.
brief history & personality ; oh to awake in a world so foreign to you and everyone else you dare mention it to ; a world where things were dark, upside down, light scarce and nothing dared to make sense. the ascendant plane, he would come to learn the name eventually. he he was awoken to a cold and unfamiliar world, faced with the bones of people they might have once known in a life he had absolutely no recollection of. to an easygoing and friendly little drone who called themselves wen-yan, who had absolutely no recollection of kaifeng's revival in the first place. and the bones of a wish dragon, an ahamkara, facing him and glowing and even speaking to him. he had to bring it with them, of course, how could he not?
and so from the beginning it was arduous and lonely for them, hiding their features and keeping that secret away in fear for what a public reaction would bring. there was a fear about facing the public and being amongst people that was so innate, so buried deep within their soul without the slightest idea as to why, or how to quell it. being a lightbearer is a blessing and a curse. he had truly thought he was cursed for the longest amount of time, and in that did he begin hiding his true identity and abilities to begin living as a civilian among civilians.
nestled in the last city he played this game, living a reclusive life mirroring the solitude that nyx had been forced and held away in before his death. the irony between enforcing old habits the body remembers, but the mind and the person do not ; for they are different people when one is bathed in the light, but yet all the same. kaifeng would always live this double life with himself, they would always feel as if there's just something off about them metaphysically, spiritually, everything in between. his very existence had felt as if something had been etched into the fabric of the universe itself, writing itself over several timelines already. like a saved game file.
surely there had to be corruption in that, in of itself? what did it take, as much as that new save file gave?
in time he would come to love, and eventually settle down with a civilian by the name of hala. the sunshine to their moonlight, the two became inseparable and in time, loved each other as fiercely as the roaring of the sun. as the ebb and flow of the moon. kai felt as though it would've been eternal, even if he'd done all he could to convince himself hala would one day have to pass on, as all things in life eventually did. it cemented this sort of idea to him, that they were just an ugly, dead thing - now cursed to overwrite the ways of the universe time and time again at the cost of material, and immaterial. that of which he could not yet see.
it's approaching from the horizon in where hala starts feeling fatigued, and not quite himself anymore, that kai is faced with the difference of their lives once again. only this time, they can't fight it or deliberately try to overwrite their will in the stars ; of all things to fail at when it seemed to be the very reason for his existence. but there is something healthy there, in that hala teaches him to find the light in the dark. no matter how bleak things seemed. they learn to find contentment in the present time, not the past nor the future.
and then the red war happens. the red legion invades and suddenly the world is ending. they had nowhere to go, and hala had been just two degrees short of being able to parkour about the city, and escape into the wilds for survival. kaifeng had been inexperienced with their control over the light in all the years they've spent ignoring it, and had been an utter mess in the heat of battle. one thing was a clear lesson from that day, from that entire scene and consequently, war : he had not been enough.
it's at this point, during the hardest parts of the war that he escapes to the farm. and it's there that they run into a lightbearer, a guardian, who meets him like they were two neutron stars colliding. the consequences of a wish, the consequences of intense devotion between two twins, that they had been ripped apart so brutally in a life long gone. a shapeshifting guardian, known by most as the nighthawk - but to them, as sao and neptune.
fast forward past the war a little : through kai's slow integration into guardian society and tower life, do they begin the process to mastering their light control and combat skills. at first it's slow moving and they are much too ill-prepared to deal with their void. but eventually, they find purpose in the fight and the reasons why guardians do the things that they do. a bit of motivation, a bit of a pep-talk from nighthawk as his senior lightbearer, and eventually they're moving out into the solar system to face battle head-on. to rise up to the mantle and hold the responsibility that came with calling himself a guardian.
just so happens that one of his battles turns out to be the path of becoming a shadow. this will be a separate post, as well as how lightfall and the final shape affects them.

ttt,,,,,tricky....
Tricky!
General Tricky Relationship HCs
Tricky is naturally a very excitable and hyperactive fellow, while this is also accompanied by a vast capability of violence and bloodshed, he’ll put 100% of his all into loving his partner. He’s pretty neat like that.
He’s basically the equivalent of a very loving cat, purring up a storm and soaking up your attention whenever he encounters you.
He does understand the need to slow down and relax, though. Despite seemingly being rather oblivious or hyper-fixated to an extreme degree, he carries around a solid amount of self-awareness. He is still one of the smartest people despite his eccentricities, the Imp Drive, and the zombification.
If he notices that you’re feeling overstimulated, he’ll do his best to lower his voice to a whisper (though this is still Loud™, it’s more like someone speaking normally), or if the sound’s too much, he’ll sign or scribble on notes.
He’s pretty snuggly and tactile in general, and likes to rest his chin on your shoulders, press his cheek against yours, or pull you into hugs.
Sometimes he loves to do those hugs where he wraps his arms around your shoulders and does a spin or two before putting you back on the floor.
Likes to gently headbutt into your shoulder or back, this is done very lightly and carefully because he might accidentally embed you in a wall 2-feet deep and he DOES NOT WANT. Therefore, you get the gentlest of bumps ever.
Tricky doesn’t have the best cooking skills, so he’ll often take notes of your favorite foods and do his best to find some sort of vendor or store to snag you a treat or two.
Because the Imp drive gives him reality-warping abilities, he often stores said food and drink in a form of stasis so you can have it in its TIPPITY TOP SHAPE, HOT OFF THE PRESSES! :O)!!!
When he does cook, it is a bit of a biohazard. It’s… sometimes edible, but more often than not Tricky tries to add some sort of flair or tweak to a recipe that results in… a very dubious dish.
He won’t get offended if you don’t eat it, more for himself!
He can get a bit protective, but at the same time, he trusts his partner a ton. So as long as you are somewhat combat-capable or fast on your feet, he doesn’t worry too much. However, if you are, as he would say “squishy” he’d fret a little more.
He’ll sometimes stop by with snacks and other beverages that he’s pilfered around if you’re the type to forget those sorts of things.
He’ll also find ways to break certain items, and given that the Improbability Drive can affect the world’s code around you, don’t be surprised that one-day Tricky manages to give your wasteland-survivor self a gun with infinite ammo—that sometimes shoots an Excessively Large™ Mag round at your target.
That's all I've got for now, I hope you enjoy!

Styrax Dev Diary #3: Me and U(I)
Back during the first iteration of Button Man-- back when it was strictly a point and click adventure game via Adventure Game Studio-- the UI needs were fairly 'find and replace'. Point and Click Adventure audiences are not averse to change per se, but over the 40 year lifespan of the genre, some standards were expected. A semi-diegetic inventory screen which swipes into and out of shot, a cursor which changes shape or accompanying icon according to context, and a dedicated text description area for showing the names of objects/characters the player's cursor hovers over. But since the beginning, we also knew we wanted combat in Button Man. As a new team, the combat existed in a sort of theoretical space, which we would 'get to when we get to'. Pretty quickly, we got to it. So we started with a semi-turned based system, with icons surrounding the player which you would press via mouse click. Punch/ Block/ Use Item. But our ideas started to flow, and the combat became more interesting and intricate, but also became more... unrelated? It's one thing to marry Point and Click trappings to a modern combat system, but its another to require a whole new control scheme and frame of mind when switching between the two modes. But how to solve this combat conundrum? Coincidentally, for reasons I may get into another time, this moment of head scratching was followed by the first major shift in development: Side Scrolling.
Tumblr media
The place where games are (sometimes) made You see, also at the start, the story and thematic elements were pretty set-in-stone. But what we did not have was a standardized art style. Much of the early artwork was strictly practical; a bench was a bench, there was no specific style applied. The breakthrough was the decision to establish an old pulp-comic style, in the image of Smilin' Jack and TinTin. With that style, it began to make sense to change the visual angle a bit, which in turn made a restricted horizontal movement style make more sense.
With that, we realised it also made more sense for the player to explore the world a bit more directly, via keyboard controls. WASD/Arrow key movement would add a sense of tactile immersion (you know, as far as these things go with a keyboard and a named character on screen).
And with THAT revelation... we arrived at the obvious answer for our combat-- Beat 'em up side scrolling. It fit perfectly with our protagonist, Bruce McKenzie, who is a former junior boxer and all around tough guy, and comics have no shortage of "BAM", "POW!", and "SMACK!" images called to mind. With a change to artwork and keyboard controls, the migration to a side scrolling adventure game inspired by point and clicks was complete.
Tumblr media
Original Bruce, followed by the first pass at a comic Bruce.
Which brings me to the present moment. The road to the current look and feel was long and winding, as the Lead Designer (me) learned 3 separate engines during this time and spent a good portion of the last year trying to catch up to our Lead Developer's abilities and knowledge of Unity. I'm happy to report that I am competent and comfortable in the Unity environment now, but that means I'm now sweeping up after myself in the wake of all the education. So many factors and components were created as temporary measures; placeholder dialogues, placeholder location teleporters, placeholder animations, and placeholder UI. All of these components have had their own evolutions and iterations, as I learned what we are capable of producing. We now have an elegant character teleportation system, and excellent Dialogue Manager which is overloaded with functionality, and now its time to fully shift the UI away from the Point and Click to one befitting a side-scroller.
Tumblr media
what a lovely gait
First and foremost, our artist, Sam Mameli, worked hard to make the locations look great-- lets not hide them with bulky, persistent UI elements! Today I am creating the animations to hide away icons when not in use.
We've also removed the Description bar from the bottom of the screen, which tells the player who or what they are about to interact with.
Tumblr media
Instead, the interactable which the player is about to activate will animate or highlight, allowing the player to plainly see that they are going to speak with a character, for instance, without revealing their identity.
Tumblr media
Next up, I'll be shifting our dialogue box from the wide format, bottom of the screen style, to one which emerges from the right side of the screen, creating a square on the left side of the screen in which to center the conversation. This means that the camera will have a clean, unobstructed view of the characters and the backdrop.
Tumblr media
(The background artwork is outdate in the above image, but you can see the UI components which are about to be updated)
I hope to finish this all up in the next few days, so that our artists can go in and replace the placeholder artwork sooner than later, bringing Button Man one step closer to being Gamescom ready!

Pretty good answers, you can take a break from answering my questions they aren’t going anywhere lol take as long as you need :)
1: some ppl give the superfamily different “abilities” instead of the typical kryptonian power set to separate them, besides Chris does the rest of the family have different powers? For example I can see Jon having super saiyan red/orange hair that can boost his heat vision or can create a mini sun to heal or boost his family’s power.
2: since Chris likes spider-man, does he ever “web swing” across the city using his dark powers? Plus tie up bad guys using the dark powers too? I can see him tying up bad guys by the feet upside down hanging from a lamp post and spinning them around XD
3: any thoughts of making the duo wear matching outfits with the starburst name/logo on the front?
4: does mar’i do the same stuff as Jake like in previous asks? Does slapstick like the three stooges, aims for the crotch on a 10, uses the Nightwing sticks, etc…
5: let’s say Kon/Tim is sleeping on the couch, what would they do as a prank? Draw on their face, fart on their face, put shaving cream on their hand and tickle their nose with something, belly flop on top of them, etc…
6: not a question but a fanfic idea: overusing the Nightwing entity causes Chris to act similar to Spider-Man while wearing the venom suit creating a meaner & maybe evil Chris; Jake and Chris battle it out in the rain with Chris brutally hurting Jake close to death. Right before he delivers the killing blow, Chris has flashbacks of him and Jake doing fun stuff, Chris at the last second takes back control and holds Jake and cries that he is sorry.
1. Well Conner canonically has what’s called Tactile Telekinesis which allows him to hold a whole variety of objects and items with his mind in mid air, Kara can also probably channel a bio electric aura around her for an extra layer protection against energy or even magic attacks even though it can mess around with her heat vision abilities and finally to say Mon El, he had the ability to detect points on either a humanoid body or on select architecture that he can use to either strike or climb up (akin to Karnak from the Inhumans). The sole one whose powers are somewhat either enhanced or a near copy of Clark’s power set is Jon.
2. More likely it’s Jake who uses his grappling hooks akin to swing Spidey style as his ability of flight isn’t as pronounced as his sister’s. Any flight he achieves has to have a running and dropping start to them; basically any short flight he gets being a sort of natural wing suit on him. Now as for Chris webbing up crooks of all sorts via the shadows on their legs, I can probably see that in addition to a sticky note left for the cops to pick up says crooks that reads “Bad Guy(s)” just like how his teacher Dick does it
3. While a certain possibility for very rare occasions like say an actual multiverse Crisus event, they wear enough blue on their individual outfits already and yet those respective splashes of burnt orange and yellow keep them distinct. So, matching outfits is possible but not entirely probable and necessary.
4. A little bit but she has her own tiny touches and takes things that distinguish her from her brother. Mainly shed lean more on sitcom snark and ‘high brow’ comedy akin to what Grandpa Alfred showed her (Probably shows including “Blackadder” and “Are You Being Served?”) as opposed to slapstick. For her combat prowess, less likely to go from hits below the belt but a tad bit more vicious in taking down villains and she primarily uses her starbolts and enhanced strength along with Tamaranean fighting styles her Mother taught her and back
5. Jake’s go to mischief technique in these cases is a trick her sister and him have learn from their Father since the latter was all too fond of doing it during his days at the circus; take a small marker and doodle of silly and funny drawings on any part of the sleeping person that’s sticks out of the blankets. Chris quickly picked up on it ever since he was about 8 and anytime either of them happened to be awake first thing in the morning can their respective Uncle for Jake and Big Brother for Chris are dead asleep, they’ll wake up later to find some ink on them. And it’s not just the faces either….let’s just say if they to wear socks that night, there’s a 50/50 chance that those socks would be off them and sure enough there’s some doodles there as well.
6. It’s certainly a tempting enough story arc I can see happening with a minor tweak or two. Mainly, it’s the Flamebird entity being tapped into by Thara Ak Var that tends on being the berserker of the two ancient deities due to its more appropriately firery nature as opposed to the more cold and dark Nightwing. That said, I see Chris losing control of his powers and temperament being a consequence of all of the Nightwing entity’s bearers since mere mortals, even Kryptonians, aren’t immune to the entity’s presence affecting their minds with continuous overuse overtime. So with that, Chris after the battle makes a vow to no longer solely rely on the Nightwing entity for emergencies during superhero fights. The entity itself understands this and even encourages Chris to find other ways to save the day of possible.
Thanks for your patience, friend. It’s appreciated @gothicghost2000

giggling and kicking my feet i finally caved and bought what the cool kids are playing (bg3) and i think my tav is handsome and a good boy (no spoilers please)
he's called tyr (friend who watched me told me he shares his name with someone) he's a black dragonborn barbarian who was a folk hero (background) prior to being tapewormed
i know there are in-game limitations to certain specificities so i'll jot down a few things that are important to me even though i'm only just at the ruins at the crash site
one of his necklaces is a thick disc of tough, tanned, acid-resistant hide. he uses it as a chew pendant when he's stressed or thinking or bored. it smells pretty bad but is clearly very taken care of
gets embarrassed and apologises a lot when accidentally walking in on any gal changing (i tried unequipping companion armour and got flashbanged by the fact i could do that)
generally just helps people because as a dragonborn with a big body and tough scales he feels like it's good to protect those in need
bonds with gale over the fact that they both don't have darkvision. likes the magic man's funny words
is not keen on astarion for obvious reasons (their first meeting), but doesn't outright hate him or overly distrust him at this point
thinks lae'zel is very interesting, and admires her focus and fiery spirit. grateful to her for her help at the beginning of the game, and very in-awe of her combat prowess
likes being similar to his companions, or having some form of connection with them. has a scroll of chromatic orb in his inventory for that reason (yay gale)
has to learn to manage his claws/hands/touch. scales aren't the most sensitive to tactile feedback so while he tries to be gentle (especially with squishier individuals) it's either he's too rough on accident or barely touches things at all
the party's designated pack mule. he doesn't mind; he figures it's something a good leader would do. also very particular about sorting party items; moreso than expected of the average barbarian. cares a lot about making sure his companions are carrying useful things + remain as unencumbered as possible
i feel like when someone gets close enough to him to be considered a friend, they can just tug on his horns for his attention. he doesn't mind; he knows he spaces out quite a bit
snores..... badly. astarion/shart/lae'zel probably kick him awake their first night at camp. eventually they learn to just roll him on his side/cover his head
would think that horn jewellery is very pretty but would be too self-conscious to buy any for himself. he splutters that he just thinks they look interesting before scuttling off (or as much as a dragonborn can scuttle)
specifically fond of wind chimes, in any shape size or material. finds their sounds soothing and admires how decorative they can get. can listen and stare at them for hours
not the most graceful fella. loves music and fun auditory experiences, but his body sometimes doesn't catch up to what his heart wants to do. better on the battlefield than in the ballroom
I really don't wanna think about his backstory rn + should go to bed but this is what i got

Tavias | Wood Half-Elf | Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer | He/Him | 31
Tumblr media
Questions by @sporeservant, found here!
Favourite weapon: Daggers and shortswords, usually dual-wielding. He currently is using the Knife of the Undermountain King and the ritual dagger he stole from Abdirak, and will eventually replace one of them with Bloodthirst.
Style of combat: Set things on fire from afar, then, while they're yelling and running around in circles, get in close and S T A B.
Most prized possession: None as yet. He does have an emotional attachment to a bell off Alfira's outfit he keeps out of guilt and as a permanent reminder to keep control of himself, but that's not really a prized possession...
Deepest desire: Given that undoing everything he's done in the past isn't possible, it's to be free of the Urge so he'll never have to hurt anyone ever again.
Guilty pleasure: I mean he feels pretty guilty about how much he enjoys killing and blood...
Best-kept secret: Oh boy some of those fantasies are staying very secret.
Greatest strength: Compassion
Fatal flaw: I mean the Urge is a pretty fatal flaw... but let's go with a tendency to panic.
Favourite smell: Wood smoke and blood.
Favourite spell or cantrip: Fireball all day every day. Gold dragon heritage and all. Less destructively, he also really likes Speak with Animals.
Pet peeve: People who leave animal remains around after hunting. Not just because it attracts pests and scavengers, but because it makes him hungry :(
Bad habit: Biting his nails. And fingers. And arms.
Hidden talent: He's never actually tried, but he'd be really good at those sleight-of-hand tricks. He tries copying Astarion doing one one day and is gratified by how easy he finds it.
Leisure activity: Sunbathing. Much like a lizard, he loves being warm. It's probably a fire dragon thing. He also loves collecting shiny things, particularly gemstones, which is... probably also a fire dragon thing. He adorns his horns with them, enjoys sparkly jewellery, and makes sure his scales are shiny, and they're also a lovely tactile thing, clinking them around in his hands like those giant bins of cheap gems you get at museum gift shops.
Y'know, assuming Faerûn has those.
Favourite drink: Amnian dessert wine. He has a bit of a sweet tooth.
Comfort food: Cinnamon buns.
Favourite person: Pre-lobotomy, it was Sceleritas, who was the closest person he had to an active parent. Like, yes, he was very much in awe of his father, but also. Bhaal scary. Sceleritas was comforting, he was safe, he was reassuring, he looked after the scared baby Bhaalspawn and validated all his feelings, and also Tavias could kill him as much and as gruesomely as he wanted and Sceleritas not only didn't complain, he encouraged it. Yay!
Post-lobotomy, it's Astarion and Jaheira. Astarion started out as a crush, because pulling a knife on Tavias sparked the part of his brain that went, "Oh, that's flirting!" and it just sort of escalated from there, and as they got to know each other, he realised that they really were kindred spirits. He didn't just want to sleep with Astarion, he wanted to talk to him. Hang out with him. Help him through his own struggles, like how Astarion helped Tavias through some of his own worst nights. Neither have mentioned the L-word yet, but I think Tavias is getting to that point.
As for Jaheira, she's his adopted Mum now. Congratulations Jaheira you've acquired another child. The fact that she can protect him and others from himself and that she can tell him about someone who was both a Bhaalspawn and a good person is... very, very reassuring.
Favoured display of affection (platonic and/or romantic): Touch and physical contact. Not necessarily sexually, just being able to be in contact with someone - pressing his leg against someone's as they sit beside each other, leaning on someone's shoulder, stuff like that. Touch that doesn't involve pain is rare and very nice.
Fondest childhood memory: He's, um, in pretty short supply of those. Pensive emoji.

Prior to Irminsul's cleansing and the consequent elimination of the illness, Zulaikha does suffer from Eleazar. It primarily effects the backs of her hands and wrists, with up to about a quarter of the way up the back of her forearm and grey, almost necrotic skin reaching just a little further than that. Having been born with it, the nerve damage is pretty extensive-- as a result, a lot of her fine motor skills with her hands are almost nonexistent, and her combat style involves bigger movements using gross motor skills instead. And that goes for most things, really. For simple and small things like turning a page or anything of the sort, she must often move her whole arm since her hands and wrist are numb and largely unresponsive. Her fingers have some limited movement to them, but due to the large muscles around them being effected, it's not much. Things like writing or using utensils are also difficult for her. She can understand her own incredibly shaky and inconsistent handwriting, but good luck to anyone else trying to read it.
Due to her incredible dislike for gloves/fabrics in general, though, Zulli does not wear gloves or otherwise conceal her Eleazar. Of course, she can't really feel the annoyance of fabric on the afflicted areas, but the undersides of her arms and palms of her hands still bear hypersensitivity, so she still doesn't cover it up unless she absolutely has to. And even then, she'll complain-- it already hurts like hell to suffer Eleazar to begin with, so why does she have to torment herself more with tactile sensory overload?
As for the progression of her Eleazar. Naturally, there is no stopping it, but he regularly visits the Bimarstan for whatever pain treatments they can offer when it becomes too much to bear. She has also learned from the Forest Rangers how to prepare medicine using Nilotpala Lotuses to recover her energy, especially while she's traveling-- and she makes semi-regular trips to the forests to help alleviate symptoms as well.

For the fic writer meme...damn, those are all questions I'd like to ask! Okay: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - and one of your choosing, if you want. :D
You glutton XP (Also thanks for DMing me those [insert fic]s)
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits?
[AU-gust | August Writing Challenge (29)]
I'm skipping the first one, cause it doesn't really count XD
Established Relationship (16)
Canon-Typical Violence (16)
One Shot (12)
Porn with Feelings (12)
Plot What Plot/Porn Without Plot (11)
I'm surprised at "Canon-Typical Violence" and not at all surprised at everyting else XP
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?
Porn with feelings definitely is one. Generally, because I've only ever written for Diego/Lila and they're a horny tactile pair, I've got a lot of furtive looks and needy kisses happening. Also, considering in canon, very little has stopped them from just being very in love with each other all the time, even when inconvenient, and being pretty open about it, I like to throw a wrench in in my fic and make them suffer while being in love. ( •̀ᴗ•́ )
4. What detail in The Night me and Your Mama met are you really proud of?
In the second to last chapter Diego and Lila have a neighbourhood BBQ going on and it’s all very domestic and nice but it’s told from Lila’s POV (3rd person, but ykwim) and she is at the same time treating the whole thing like a spy operation, excelling at normie conversation, scoffing at clichés like housewives getting off while sitting on the washing machine, while at the same time (unreliable pov character that she is) she’s actually really in to all of it. She loves watching Diego being neighbourhood dad, and how much fun their kid is having (when she’s not upset about toppled ice-cream), actually getting off on top of the washing machine (okay, this one might be helped by the fact that Diego is there XP). And it’s just, I enjoy sticking to these character traits that I assume about them, for instance Lila being constantly unsure about whether she’s cut out for normal life, but not going route one with them.
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about Kiss with a Fist? Answer it now!
I think I’d like to be asked some variation on whether I think they’re doing okay.
So, in Kiss with a fist, LIla’s having a bad day and then comes in to Diego’s gym to do a self defense class, some things go wrong her frustration spikes and after Diego is being a bit of a dick they end up having an actually hand to hand combat fight which ends with them making out and more. At this point they have an established relationship and I wrote this after s2.
And my answer to are they doing okay here, despite the fact that Lila lets out her frustration in a fight with Diego is, yeah, I think they’re doing okay and I think it’s the same thing the writers tapped into with Lila slapping Diego whenever she’s both frustrated with and overwhelmed with how much she loves him, and why I think Diego doesn’t just roll with it but sort of understands what she’s trying and failing to communicate (maybe a little badly, but going off of every single one of Diego’s reactions post initial slap in s2, he really, really doesn’t mind, more like the opposite). (That or she’s experiencing cute aggression XP)
Do they have unconventional methods? Yeah, are they maybe bad communicators if anyone else was involved in this thing? Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is one of many reasons why Diego and Patch couldn’t work out. Is it strangely perfect for them and are they soulmates? Weirdly, yes.
6. What’s one fact about the universe of the Space AU that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?
Lol, you don’t understand what a mediocre writer I am XD
In the same way I can’t visualise, I also don’t really do much world building beyond what I actually write down. If you were to go through that automatic star treck-y sliding door, you’d very quickly realise you’re on a sound stage. Ignore the wires holding Lila up as she spins around in zero G and all that XD.
But there is a detail I only ever implied and that is that in this universe where AI Robots with a Civil Rights movement exist, Diego was totally also a mama’s boy for Robot Mom, but something happened to her and she’s no longer around (like, I’m not being vague or coy, I have not fleshed out what happened to her, but this Diego also lost his Robot Mommy and is still sad about it).
Okay, that was fun! Good questions! Thanks for playing along!

Shepard AMA Round 2
Rounds 1, 3, 4
... in retrospect I should have done these after I went through the series again, but apparently I'm doomed to work backwards. Odds are high I'll go back and edit the originals at some point, I'll probably reblog them with a notice or something instead of whole new posts? In the meantime, these have been delightful to rebuild my hype and at least set something like a direction I want to work towards, and now I'm a bit sad because they're done xD
As always, question sets by @spookyvalentine ! Hope y'all have enjoyed getting to know Adrian, and I hope to have so much more to share in the future, these have inspired so many little scene ideas!
1. Where would your Shepard go back to play tourist? Are they going alone, or bringing someone(s)? - She's actually made a few trips to Illium that were... on paper for 'necessary upgrades and supplies'. Not her fault if the crew get caught up sightseeing and decide it's easier to grab a meal at the lounge!
She also would love to actually like- visit Earth for a decent while, and harbored a small dream of bringing Thane along and checking out the Outback. During the SR1 days, she and Ash also had vague plans of a world tour of famous battle sites for a while (and really considered asking if Wrex wanted in), but that uh. Didn't pan out.
2. Your Shepard is making a sandwich. What’s going in it? - Well average sandwiches usually are some combo of meat, vegetables or cheese & condiments, but that's not exciting, and she's a biotic. Who does heavy combat. Sometimes she hits the state of 'nothing matters but Calorie', and after an enormous amount of biotic heavy fighting on freezing ass Noveria, the crew were witness to a monstrosity of: roast beef, 4 day old pyjak chunks, the end dregs of 3 nut butters (one of which was mostly chocolate), some kind of stewed Tuchankan root vegetable, and blueberry jelly crammed between two hunks of bread.
(In fairness, half of it went to Wrex, and he thought it was great, so everyone else can shut up.)
3. What’s Shepard’s love language? What love languages do they respond best to? -
Ok they all kind of blend into each other, but ultimately: acts of service. On a wider context- Shepard is just... her default nature is a deep, immense love for life in all its myriad forms, even something like the Reapers- and she wants to help that life flourish and coexist as peacefully as possible. Whether it's making sure a beloved wife's body is returned to a grieving husband or working to undo the genophage, so very much of what makes her Shepard is simply a way of saying 'I love you' to all there is.
On a more personal level: Again, blend of all, but she puts in an effort to help her friends with whatever they need, even if it's. Like. -gestures at every loyalty mission-; and she tends to charge headfirst into battle and draw fire so they don't have to take it. (As for receptive to: words & quality time).
Interestingly, in a romantic context she winds up also leaning hard into touch, both giving and receiving. She had kind of withdrawn from much physical contact after Akuze- and it actually was a bit of an awkward dance with Thane (who I've always hc'd as being a very tactile sort) at first, but it worked out in the end; casual time together, they're almost always in some sort of contact. Not even entirely aware of it, either, and Joker decides it's absolutely worth tempting death to tease them about it.
4. What were Shepard’s opinions of Cerberus before waking up on their table? - Oh, absolute loathing, they're the essence of everything she hates about humanity's attitude towards galactic relations; and half her mission during the ME2 era was to try swinging the SR2 crew away.
5. Is your Shepard politically active? Do they stay on top of galactic comings and going’s - She does her best to stay on top of things, especially after becoming a Spectre. In a perfect world where the Reaper war ends and she lives, she'd probably swerve hard into politics, especially campaigning to restructure the council and get some new embassies set up.
6. What would they be doing, if Shepard never joined the alliance? - Diplomat/ambassador, probably; that or xeno-oceanography work. Anything that lets her travel and meet new people!
7. What’s Shepard’s favorite way to let loose? - Friendly combat competition, especially sniping practice, hand to hand, and biotic sparring.
8. Does your Shepard like to be alone? Are they prone to isolate? - She likes quiet time with other people around, but gets cagey when she's completely alone- it's why you'll find her doing most of her work in the mess hall. Even if everyone else is busy, she knows there's a bunch of folks nearby, and that's enough.
9. What does Shepard like to wear when they’re out of the armor? - OK I actually love the on-ship outfit in 1 Fairly comfortable but tries to keep smart when out and about. (Has been spotted wearing a Blasto tee on the ship though.
10. What does TIM think of Shepard at the start of me2? And at the end? - A necessary trouble in the beginning, hoped he could leverage some kind of gratitude debt. By the end? A goddamn pain in the ass, Miranda was right about the control chip. Shepard destroyed the Base, took his ship, and turned the Lazarus crew including the AI to her side. (And there is something extra insulting about the flagrant relationship with an alien, like no you're not using my recruitment suggestions as a dating service!)
11. What does Shepard think of TIM? - Despite everything in her life, Adrian is not a violent person. She would very much work to change hearts and minds through example and logic than at the end of a gun, and wants to preserve as many lives as possible. And still, even with this: she would happily strangle TIM with her bare hands if given the chance.
12. Who is Shepard’s favorite non-companion character? - Also knocking Chakwas, Joker, and Anderson since they've been mentioned a lot & are important lol. Possibly Aethyta!
13. What kind of roommate would Shepard be? - Polite, quiet, always makes sure the fridge is full and rent is on time, keeps the common areas tidy... but her bedroom is half taken up by an aquarium and every flat surface is covered with half-built models and she's up til 4am editing photos and eating Nutella out of the jar, so weigh all that as you will.
14. It’s takeout potluck night with the gang! What’s Shepard ordering, and from where? A krogan-worthy portion of fried meat, veg, and noodles from literally anywhere that puts that together. (It's a remarkably universal sort of dish, right up there with 'boiled grain')
15. If Shepard could have an extremely dangerous and illegal pet, what would it be? - Less one pet and more the aquarium from hell, any sort of pretty sea critter regardless of how toxic it is. (Blue ring octopi are top of the list, followed by a remarkably toxic eel from Kajhe. ... Her real answer is actually more 'I want to take a vessel down as far as is physically possible into Encompassing and keep the biggest thing I find')
16.. What does Aria think of Shepard? - Wary at first because no one can be that nice, and always kind of thinks Shepard’s a naive idiot... but she's a naive idiot who can get shit done, and Aria can kind of respect that.
17. Does your Shepard seek counseling/have a therapist? - The closest thing Adrian Shepard has ever had to a therapist was Kelly Chambers, interpret that as you will. (She kind of meant to find one once in was apparent the Akuze situation had impacted her long term... buuuut then she was assigned to this new experimental ship, lot of talk about important cooperation exercises with the turians, and then everything kind of snowballed and Therapy Doesn't Make For Good Spectre Optics...)
18. Obligatory gang beach episode! What’s Shepard doing? - She's in the water before the question's finished lol. Unless specifically requested somewhere else, she'll be swimming. Possibly even full diving if circumstances allow!
19. What was Shepard’s first interaction with an alien? - Very brief and barely remembered- due to her parents' participation in the First Contact War and subsequent involvement in peace talks, she wound up encountering some turians when she was very young & still not 100% comprehending what was going on, so she just thought they looked cool as hell. (First real interaction was when she was like 6 & wandered off on a small asari station they were visiting, and asking a very nice blue lady for help getting back.)
20. List five songs your Shepard is currently listening to
-Hand That Feeds
- Summer Nights
- To Hide To Seek (yeah in-game song but please imagine, first trip to Illium, Shep's going to the bar for info, and proceeds to drop everything to ask Aethyta 'hey what's playing right now I need this')
-The Stolen Child
-Undertow
21. What companion quest did shepard enjoy the most? What was the most difficult one for them to do? - All of the SR2 ones except Grunt's fucking wrecked her tbh.
The amount if them that came down to broken families hit hard, Jack and Tali's just straight up made her cry afterwards, Thane's was a very wild emotional soup because they were very much Dancing Around Their Emotions but she would later admit that last moment was like the first time she'd really felt anything resembling a parental instinct and dear lord that's a lot to unpack when neither of you have admitted that you're dating yet.
Mordin's just- gutted her. She loves Mordin, they had become pretty solid friends but then facing all that, especially considering her relationship with Wrex? Legion's and Samara's both actually wound up with her having a slight breakdown on the shuttle ride back because they were heavy as fuck... but the hardest one might have been Garrus'.
He was her constant companion in combat from the first run- once he was on the crew, he was always present. He's a dear friend and someone she worries about and wants to turn to a better path... and so torn up and lost that, for a very brief moment at the end-
She knows Garrus always has her back. But as much as she trusts his heart and soul... there was, for just a moment, a point where she didn't quite trust his body to follow suit, and very much accepted that he might take the shot, whoever was in the scope.
Grunt's was fucking great though. She got to see Wrex again, headbutt an asshole, fight a thresher maw, and solidly bring a new member into her growing krogan family. 10/10 no complaints why can't every problem be that easy.
22. Any guilty pleasures? - Old Earth sci-fi/horror, the cheesier and campier the better! (There was serious debate whether to ban her from movie night choices, but she also needs to turn her brain off sometimes and that's about the only time she's not overtly multitasking.)
23. What does Shepard think of Conrad Verner? How do they handle him? - Oh she was weirded the fuck out by even the autograph thing - like thankfully Eden Prime had just happened so she felt vaguely heroic this time (& tangent, she highkey wants to lose her shit on everyone who brings up Akuze because all she did was run away and not die, there wasn't anything commendable there), and just gets increasingly frustrated with the guy as things go on, and is pissed with his shit in Illium because sir, no, I did not give myself a roaring headache resisting the urge to scare you off just for you to claim I pulled a gun on you.
She does come to appreciate the Shepards foundation afterwards though and even offers some help and an official endorsement... after the few months and she's sure he's not coming back...
24. How does Shepard handle house arrest? How do they fill their time? - Oh she would handle it badly. She is good in ships, but very bad at being confined. She'd probably spend a lot of time trying to get messages out to her companions or see how they're doing and just... trying not to fall the fuck apart because now there's nothing to take her attention away from The Horrors, you know?
25. How does Shepard react to meeting Javik, a real life prothean? - Despite my pre-order, I never did redeem that, so she never did xD She'd think it was dope as fuck though, and really consider starting a tally of 'extinct species I've met'.
26. What is Shepard’s relationship with Joker? - BFFs! They crossed paths a lot as kids and kept in touch when they weren't in the same area. Adrian learned some important early lessons in how to work with other people, little Joker wasn't taking any sort of pity or over concern over his health, and she was one of the only kids who seemed to take him seriously. They mercilessly mock each other, and she values his opinion about the other crew members and missions- even if it's not always readily apparent to others.
27. What does your Shepard take pictures of? - She has a long-standing hobby of landscape photography! It started when she was a kid and wanted to get pictures of wherever her family went, and it just sort of persisted and advanced through most of her life; she loves how much opportunity she has to get some rare shots (aided very much by modifing her helmets). She also picked up a habit of getting pictures of her friends around the Normandy or on the Citadel, though these were less carefully taken. (Though she has also gotten at least one Dramatic Fancy shot of everyone over the years.)
28. Who is your voicecast for Shepard? Is it Jennifer Hale/Mark Meer? Do they have an accent? - Hale all the way even though, thinking about it.. iiit doesn't completely make sense xD Like, Adrian's voice was never a problem point for her but she started hormone tinkering early enough that it would've definitely had an effect. But, I can't think of anyone better or specific tones so Hale it is. She would also have some kind of accent for sure, but fuck if I can figure out what it'd be after another hundred or so years of language drift In Space xD
29. What is the perfect day for Shepard? - Beach day with her friends. She has a deep need to see who wins in an all out Normandy crew chicken fight (also 'can everyone together take down Wrex or Grunt'), some time soaking up the sun, looking for cool weird crap that's washed up, good food... just time at her favorite place with the people she loves, where nothing demands their time or blood, and they can just have fun.
(And in a really perfect world scenario, this also includes getting to share a decent dive, or at least swim, with Thane...)
30. What did Shepard think of the thorian? How did they feel about killing it? What did they decide for Shiala? - On the one hand: fucking Terrifying in the same visceral way the Reapers are. On the other: absolutely fucking fascinating and magnificent, and she deeply regrets having to kill it. Shiala lives, like- look, it wasn't her fault she got mind-zapped and eaten by a plant, she ought to get a chance.
31. How did Shepard feel, seeing Legion wearing their old armor? Does that change? - It was startling at first for sure, but she comes to find it kind of sweet.
32. Any vices? - Not really, she's kind of in that weird range of 'doesn't really do anything self destructive but also needs outside reminders for actual self care' xD
33. Is Shepard free with affection, or more reserved? - Oh extremely free- especially with the Normandy crew, she never hesitates with a kind word, gift, or joke for her friends. Good for morale, good for general mood... and you never know how long a crew will be together. The galaxy can always use a little more love.
34. Are there any people out there that betrayed Shepard? How do they handle it? - Liara (answered further below), otherwise I can't think of any particularly notable incidents. Honestly, she has a tendency to cause betrayals.
35. Is your Shepard a biter? (Interpret this as you will) - She prefers to fight fair, so no biting. and scales can be tough
(And no one can prove those things on her neck aren't general soldier's wear and tear, but if anyone wants to speculate about them they're welcome to bring it up while she's doing weapons maintenance yes this especially includes you, Mordin and Chakwas.)
36. What is their relationship with Wrex? - He's the big brother she never had. They butted heads a fair bit early on (literally in at least a couple instances), but she wasn't passing up the chance to spend time with an honest to god krogan battlemaster, and in time developed a great deal of respect for his wisdom and experience. Wrex was intrigued just on the basis of there being a human who would talk to him- and then this human turns out to be interested in galactic politics and is still sympathetic to the krogan? That's Different.
Both are damn near unyielding in their convictions, but respect each other enough to meet halfway. It's Wrex's friendship and history that so strongly spurs Adrian to prioritize the krogan even through everything else that's going on; it's Shepard’s unwavering choice to remain kind and merciful that help draw Wrex out of his rut and into trying to make some changes. By the end, they absolutely regard each other as family. (Wrex was actually my first recruit in my current play of ME1!)
37. Does Shepard have any friendships that surprise the rest of the crew? - See above lol, like- even Joker, knowing Adrian most of her life, was still a little surprised about Wrex. It also threw everyone for a bit of a loop with how chummy she got with Miranda in the end- Shepard and Miranda included.
(The reaction to Thane was actually split among the crew around the time- Garrus and Jacob were insistent she wasnt going to cozy up to an asassin; Grunt and Miranda just observed, Mordin observed with metaphorical popcorn, while Joker and Jack had a running bet on how long before Adrian made a move. They both lost to Kelly.)
38. If Shepard is dropped into the middle of the wilderness for a week, how do they handle it? - Depending on place & supplies she'd probably do okay? Honestly if she can set herself up okay she might just wave rescue off for another week.
39. Does Shepard have a will? What do they want done with their body after they’ve passed? - She has a standing situation of, should she be KIA without recoverable remains, to hold a memorial or celebration of life sort of service on the following April 11th, just anyone who wanted to get together and get whatever closure they can.
If remains: burial at sea. (Amended to cremation and scattering at sea as of ME2).
She didn't have much else until late into the ME2 timeline, where she puts in last minute stipulations of: belongings split among the surviving Normandy crews as they so desired, while any money goes to Kolyat.
40. How does your Shepard react, when Liara says she’s the one that handed their body over to Cerberus? - Coldly. She and Liara were never particularly close, but that's the end of any friendship they might have had. Shepard doesn't disagree about the necessity and benefit, she's not... ungrateful. But she holds Liara at a distance afterwards, even during the ME3 timeframe.
41. They’ve been caught in the rain! How does Shepard react? - Would barely notice or care tbh xD She's trained to endure most weather conditions- and on top of that, hey, rain's the next best thing to a swim!
42. How does Shepard handle the reporters? What are they like in an interview - Likes Emily well enough, politely indifferent to others- in fact, Emily's about the only interviewer who doesn't have to literally ambush Shepard for a talk. She was put off the whole interview scene after Akuze- everyone kept demanding attention when she just wanted to mourn.
Her interviews tend to be short and curt, between her discomfort with them and the knowledge of just how much weight her words can carry, she doesn't want to start an incident with a bad remark, y'know?
43. What was the clone’s fate? Do you think Shepard and their clone could coexist? - non-existence
And sadly I haven't looked into the whole plotline there enough to give much of a hypothetical answer xD
44. What’s the perfect date to sweep Shepard off their feet? - Honestly, giving her one on one attention and having an hour or two to not think about Everything is pretty good.
(OK though actual answer: dinner, drinks, and impromptu poetry recitations at Eternity.)
45. How many unread emails are in their inbox? - Oh they all get opened. Actually read.. ehhh, it varies and it's kind of random which non-vital ones get read. (She did read that one from one of the salarians stuck in Nassana's tower & still teases Thane about apparently causing some kind of sexual awakening for a salarian)
46. What does your Shepard get competitive over? - Endurance trials. Like, going back to before enlisting and working to hold her breath the longest & handle colder water- she's always had a mentality like this:
Tumblr media
And that probably explains a lot about her.
47. What museum is your Shepard going to? natural history, science, art… the zoo, aquarium? - Oh lord that's many answers. Galleries are a favorite, and she's extremely intrigued by any sort of cultural heritage exhibit. But either make sure the day is clear or just accept you've lost her unless shooting breaks out if she gets into an aquarium, she will hang around for hours. (Incidentally, everyone on board the Normandy now knows a lot of fish facts, whether they wanted to or not.)
48. What kind of a sleeper is Shepard? Sprawl out, hog the covers, octopus…. How many hours do they normally sleep? - Curled up into a tight ball unless she has something or someone to hold onto (And usually in around 4-5 hour chunks. Also interesting note though: she can sleep damn near anywhere, and dozed off on a lot of quieter Mako missions once Tali took over driving.)
49. Do they have any morning or evening rituals? The fuck's a morning or evening?
For a while, not really- she'd be awake, catch up on things or join in morning exercises if that was a thing; evenings were pretty much hose off, fuck around with whatever still needed doing and sleep as she could.
SR2 era saw her start taking a solid bit of time at the end of the day in meditation or prayer. If nothing else, it was helpful to enforce some daily slots of quiet to better organize her mind; and it became vital in getting her biotic skill back up to speed- everything was rebuilt fine, but she was physically and mentally too fucking wound up for reliable use.
50. What scents in particular draw Shepard in? - Anything like saltwater ofc, but also things along the line of forest greenery or spicy will definitely get her attention.
+1 what, to your Shepard, is a good death - A peaceful passing in one's sleep at an old age after a long, full life. Barring that, so long as it's in the service of doing good, she'll be content.

For the random ask thing: Do you have any headcanons/ideas for Tozer in a scifi AU? Star Trek, Star Wars, not picky (- if not it's totally fine) Cheers! 💝
I do now!!
Star Trek
redshirt, but doesn't die
security guy, but also friendly with some guys from engineering so helps out holding spanners and such, and is good at fixing things, learns a lot by osmosis
highly likeable, very tactile, good at reassuring people and cheering them up
sensible, level-headed - exactly the kind of guy you'd want around in a crisis
slight fascination with old style guns
loves going on adventures on the holodeck, his favourites are wild west shoot-ups
holodeck mishap??? no one ever finds out, he sorts that shit out before anyone realises anything has gone wrong
loves his R&R, especially as he has 'company'
would seriously die for his friends, but finds it's more effective to stay alive so he can still be around to protect them
Star Wars
from one of the outer rim planets
does NOT like the Empire
pretty good at speed racing, good at fixing things (mostly out of necessity), but his real talent is in fighting
scratch that, his real talent is getting along with people
likeable, people want to gravitate towards him and listen to him. growing up he was the ringleader of a gang of feral little kids that would strip your ship in the time it took for you to blow your nose
his mother died when he was 6, he had no other family but there was a woman who took him in and became like a second mother to him, and made sure he was clothed and got a portion of whatever food was available
he would always look out for others and share what he had, even if it meant he went without for the sake of someone else
things fell apart as he got older. he lost a lot of friends to sickness, violence, slavery, privation, and addiction. his home planet is not a place where many people grow old (his second mother died when he was 15)
managed to get off the planet as part of a not-entirely-honest cargo crew who were passing through, flew a few years with them before joining the Resistance
he's not a pilot at all, definitely more of a 'grunt', but he's outstanding at combat and highly liked, so he's promoted quickly. again, people gravitate towards him
he has these moments when in space where he looks out at all the stars and just... thinks it's so beautiful. but he also thinks about all the planets out there, all the people suffering the way he and his friends did, and he makes a promise to himself that he'll do everything he can to change things for everyone
doesn't really understand the meaning of 'settling down'. it's an abstract concept. as far as Sol is concerned, you keep going until you drop (it doesn't occur to him that he will live long enough to see the Resistance's goal achieved, he figures he'll die for the cause, and he's okay with that. what else could you want to do with your life?)
peacetime Sol would become a foster parent for any and every wayward kid around. he doesn't realise he's being fatherly. he thinks he's just some guy looking out for those in need the way anyone else ought to (and he's always been good at looking out for others). he teaches them how to look after themselves, makes sure they have shelter if they need it, food and clothes, helps them figure out where best to get a job
(Fighter Pilot Sol)
his combat skills are far better than his flying skills. he's still a pretty decent fighter pilot though (emphasis on 'fighter')
befriends droids
tries to speak binary with his astromech droid. his droid tells him no. don't... don't do that
(his astromech droid is snarky, but mostly because it knows Sol finds that funny, and the droid likes him)
bit of a poster boy for the Resistance, which sometimes he enjoys, but other times he just wants a quiet drink with his mates
does his best to look out for everyone
support guy rather than flashy leader, but they promote him anyway
knows he's just a small part of something much bigger, but is proud of what he does all the same
Okay I'll stop there XD This was such an amazing ask, thank you so much for sending it!! I'm going to be thinking a lot about this for the rest of the day now...

reverse au BUT canon universe geralt and jaskier are sent to an alternate universe where their roles are reversed but they remember their canon lives
ft. bamf jaskier and blushy geralt
canon universe geralt and jaskier touch a weird artefact and they’re sent to an alternate universe where jaskier is a witcher and geralt is human
(this is established relationship)
so they grow up without memories of their past (???) selves but they get vague impressions/dreams that tell them something’s not right
they regain their full memories they’re 15/16 ish
jaskier is born first. he’s sent to kaer morhen and goes through the training and the trials to become a witcher (he gets extra mutations bc i said so, im a sucker for witcher!jaskier with white hair and cat eyes ok)
he remembers his life as a bard when he’s 16, not long before he sets out on the path
and he realises that geralt isn’t with him in kaer morhen - he’s in the cohort geralt would have been, he’s friends with eskel and all that, but geralt isn’t here
and jaskier thinks that whatever happened, geralt must be dead
it hurts, as he walks around kaer morhen, knowing that geralt should be there, knowing that, in another life, geralt had walked within the same walls
but jaskier still holds out hope, returning to kaer morhen every winter and hoping that someone like geralt would show up
but geralt never does, and on his travels, jaskier asks mages and researches to find a way to reverse whatever was done, but he can’t
after maybe 2 decades, jaskier gives up and properly mourns the witcher he had known, who doesn’t exist here
once, he tries picking up the lute, but it hurts too much. it reminds him of what he’s lost, reminds him that geralt isn’t here
he puts down the lute and picks up his swords. he doesn’t touch the lute after that
something like blaviken still happens but maybe in a different way bc it’s jaskier
a few decades after jaskier is born, geralt is born into a noble family
from a young age, he’s unnervingly good at sword fighting and combat, and he enjoys it, but something draws him to music
at first geralt isn’t very good at it, but there’s an inexplicable urge within him that tells him to continue, a quiet yearning for melody and music that makes him want to be good at it
so he goes to oxenfurt, and that’s when he remembers being a witcher once, remembers the path, remembers jaskier
and he searched desperately for jaskier. he scours the campus, asking professors and students, searching the faculty and alumni
but no one has heard of jaskier
and geralt knows that there’s no way that jaskier wouldn’t have gone to oxenfurt - the only reason jaskier isn’t here, isn’t in whatever universe this is, is because he’s dead
geralt vows to live in jaskier’s memory, and he takes up the lute
he misses jaskier’s singing, misses his songs. so he learns the lute, learns to sing, so that there’s always a part of jaskier with him
when geralt graduates from oxenfurt, he sets out on the road
in a fit of nostalgia, he travels to posada, something bittersweet and wistful rising within him
unbeknownst to geralt, jaskier is heading to posada as well, tracking a contract
they unknowingly end up in the same tavern
at this point, jaskier has learnt to tune out bards. it hurts too much to remember what he’ll never have, so he doesn’t register the bard that’s playing right now
geralt is playing when he spots a dark figure in the corner, black armour and swords marking him out as a witcher
it’s all too familiar, and a tentative hope blooms in geralt’s heart
maybe -
he makes his way over, heart hammering, and says the words etched deep into his memory
‘i love the way you just.. sit in the corner and brood’
and geralt’s heart is in his throat, hoping and hoping and hoping for the right response
and jaskier hears a familiar voice saying words he had said, a lifetime ago
jaskier raises his head and sees a familiar face, a face he knows as well as his own despite the different hair and eyes and stature, and his heart stutters
it can’t be. but it is. and jaskier just knows.
geralt almost cries when unnaturally bright blue eyes with slitted pupils rise to meet his, set in a familiar face marked by a long scar and framed by silver hair
‘i’m here to drink alone’
it’s this familiar exchange, repeated but reversed, that lets them know that the other remembers, that they’re here
and for the first time since they woke up in this different world, they feel complete
they bask in the moment, drinking each other in, because they’ve found each other, and even if they’re different, even if everything is different, they’re together
geralt slides into the seat opposite jaskier, and it’s so, so familiar, but so different
‘i thought you were dead,’ geralt whispers
jaskier smiles, a small and sad thing, but he reaches over and grabs geralt’s hand. their callouses are reversed, now. jaskier’s hands are rough from the grips of his swords, and geralt’s fingers are padded from years of playing the lute
‘me too,’ jaskier confesses softly. then his smile turns slightly more playful. ‘i didn’t think you’d have red hair and green eyes. you look good.’
then geralt ducks his head and blushes under his freckles (yes he has freckles it’s hella adorable ok) and jaskier is fascinated bc he’s never seen geralt blush
(and he!! has freckles!!!)
‘this suits you,’ geralt mumbles, still blushing. he peeks out from under his lashes and jaskier sort of melts. ‘the hair and the eyes, i mean.’
and, well. jaskier had been insecure about his mutations that mark him as something other, something inhuman, but hearing geralt’s acceptance of him...
jaskier squeezes geralt’s hand, still in awe that he’s here, he’s real. they’re here, together. ‘i missed you.’
geralt beams, and jaskier‘s heart warms at how easily geralt seems to smile now. ‘i missed you too.’
the elves happen pretty much the same way apart from the fact that geralt and jaskier expecting it
and when geralt follows jaskier, neither of them object to it
they try to find out what happened to them, but all they’ve figured out is that their lives have been reversed, and no one else seems to be affected
so they travel the continent together trying to find an explanation or a cure
they try to return to the place where they found the artefact, but they only find a patch of dirt
jaskier brings geralt to kaer morhen
they ask vesemir about their situation (and geralt aches at the fact that his old mentor doesn’t know him), but he has no idea
eskel and lambert look at geralt with no recognition, and it hurts
but they take to geralt easily, and in no time, it’s almost like they’re back in their own world
they find yen earlier than they do in canon. she’s hostile at first, not knowing why they’re seeking her out, but when she hears their story she’s intrigued and promises to try and find a cure
in the meantime they try to settle into the new lives and new dynamic
they both have two lifetimes in their heads, two whole lives that are theirs, that they’ve lived
of course, they’re not the same people, shaped by new experiences as well as old
geralt is more open, more affectionate, more vocal with his thoughts and feelings. he smiles more, and he’s less gruff with others, though he still isn’t completely comfortable in social interactions
jaskier is a bit quieter, a result of his witcher upbringing. he’s still mostly open about his emotions, and being around geralt makes him smile and chatter liked he used to, but there’s a hypervigilance in him borne out of his witcher training, something lethal and deadly
they learn about each other again, finding new things to love and explore
now, geralt is the one who plays in taverns, and jaskier is the one who takes contracts
geralt still retains the skills and memories of his training as a witcher. though he lacks the enhanced strength, he can still fight, and jaskier gets some lightweight swords for him
geralt helps out on contracts sometimes, when he’s confident that he won’t get hurt. jaskier is reluctant at first, but concedes that geralt should be able to hold his own against weaker monsters
that’s when geralt realises that witcher!jaskier is a huge bamf and also very buff (buff jaskier rights!!!) and geralt really shouldn’t like it as much as he does
jaskier also looks unfairly good in armour with his swords in his hands
and now he understands why jaskier used to be obsessed about his black eyes after taking a potion, because HNNNG
with geralt by his side, jaskier doesn’t mind playing the lute again. it doesn’t hurt like it used to, with geralt by his side once more
geralt lends jaskier his lute and jaskier plucks out tentative notes on the strings, before he launches into one of his songs
jaskier’s voice is rough and untrained, lacking the oxenfurt training he used to have as a bard, but it’s pleasant and sweet, and geralt joins in, their voices twining together in a lovely duet
jaskier doesn’t join geralt when he sings in taverns, fearful of how humans would react, but on the road, they sometimes sing together, and it’s unexpectedly nice
(maybe jaskier gets a glamour at some point, and the continent discovers that the famed bard geralt occasionally gains a partner)
as a witcher, geralt had been unable to lash out at the people who’d insulted him and attacked him
but now, he’s human, and watching jaskier’s shoulders slump as humans spit vitriol at him, well, geralt gets to be feral now
he’s far more dangerous than jaskier had been as a bard. sure, bard jaskier was feral, but he lacked the skills that geralt remembers from his time as a witcher
the humans don’t stand a chance against geralt, and jaskier is the one hauling geralt out of fights now, and many taverns witness a white-haired witcher dragging his redheaded bard out as he yanks him into a fierce kiss
they’re both very soft and very gone on one another. geralt is far more tactile now and jaskier does not mind. they cuddle a lot and jaskier is the big spoon
they’re both openly affectionate, there’s a lot of soft hand holding and hair braiding and casual touches and like. they’re just soft, ok?
jaskier makes it his mission to make geralt blush as much as possible, because it’s adorable
(he also discovers how far down that blush goes, and geralt gets to witness jaskier’s witcher strength and stamina)
they make it work. jaskier gets insecure sometimes, knowing that his features are unnatural and scarred and nothing like what he’d looked like as a bard
but geralt reassures him, telling him that he’s beautiful no matter what
sometimes, geralt hates his own human frailty, how weak he is without his enhanced strength and how easily he gets hurt
but jaskier shows him everything he loves about geralt’s human body, telling him how happy he is that geralt gets to live a life without the suffering of a witcher
and the longer they’re together and the more they get to know each other all over again, they become less sure whether they want a cure or not
geralt likes being a human bard. humans don’t hate him anymore, and he likes being a bard more than he thought he would
but he knows that jaskier is, by nature, someone who loves people. and watching jaskier be rejected by prejudiced humans makes geralt’s heart hurt, because jaskier loves people so fucking much, and now he’s hated by them
but jaskier doesn’t mind being a witcher either. he can help people now, even if they’re ungrateful. there’s a deep satisfaction as he slays monsters terrorising innocents, and like this, he also gets to protect geralt
(not that geralt needs protecting, but still, it’s nice. and geralt has realised that he quite likes jaskier swooping in to save him aka picking him up in his arms)
and jaskier sees how free and easy and open this geralt is, unburdened by decades of hatred and conflict, and he wants this for geralt, wants geralt to know the happiness of a human life without being hated by the very people he helps
both of them like the lives they lead now, and they don’t know if they want to go back. but their old life is the original world, and they still wonder if they should go back
idk how it ends - either they somehow find a cure and return to canon universe with a whole load of new experiences, or they never find a cure and they learn to live in this new world
or maybe they do find a cure and decide that they’ll stay in this world because they’ve learnt to accept and love each other even with the changes, and it’s their world now
there’s a fic for this now!

You've become aware of dangerous enemies lurking in the dark.
Someone new has blown into the monastery: a robed figure advertising her skills as "the best and only projectionist in all of Fódlan!" Using her client's memories, she is able to conjure phantoms of light resembling people that had crossed their lives. These phantoms are as physical and tactile as any real human. Sure, they're terrible conversationalists and there's no getting around the fact that they’re tricks of the light... but some of her clientele happen to like that, she'll have you know! The projectionist claims that the swords and magic her phantoms wield are as sharp and hot as the real thing, making them "the perfect training dummies!"
Perhaps you have your doubts, but the way those phantoms move like professional soldiers, wielding their swords as though they had honed their skills for years... no one can deny it's fancier than those straw-filled sacks you like to beat up. For anyone hoping to test their skills against such enemies, she has a challenge for you...
One or two phantoms may not be a problem for skilled fighters like yourselves... but can you beat a gauntlet of them?
Welcome to the Arena event! This will be a mini-event that will run alongside our Halloween-inspired event that begins October 18th! So even if you don’t sign up for the Arena, rest assured that there will be seasonal prompts to bring muses together in other ways. But if you’re interested in joining the Arena, please keep reading for more information about signing up:
One of our goals with this event is to trial our revised combat system in a low-stakes, controlled setting. We hope that this will let us catch and smooth out some of the wrinkles before we put this to use. It's unlikely that we'll catch everything that should be fixed, but there's nothing wrong with a test run! As a thank you for helping us with our new combat system, there is one skill point waiting for anyone who makes it to the end of the gauntlet!
How this event will work:
Sign up your muse here. Every muse will start with access to two pieces of equipment at D rank or lower. Please look at our Combat Manual to select your equipment. You may choose anything from D rank or lower regardless of your muse’s weapon ranks (so if you wanted your muse to finally try those Gauntlets even though they only have an E in Brawl, go for it!). No class mastery abilities or dancing may be selected at this stage.
All participating muses will be randomized into teams of 3 or 4. Your teams will not be competing against each other at any point.
Your enemies will get stronger as you move through the tiers. But so will you! As you conquer each tier, your muse slowly unlocks access to higher-level weapons, abilities, and class skills. From the second battle onwards, you will have a chance to adjust your inventory as much as you'd like to be prepared for the next enemy or to simply try out a different build.
All dice rolls must be made in the TOA server using Dice Maiden. Each team will have their own thread to make dice rolls in and to message each other about arena threads or anything else pertaining to their specific team. This event is one where you will need to be in the server for rolling and communication purposes, but rest assured that this is only for the event and will never be required outside of it.
Signups will close October 17th at 11:59PM EST so that we have time to sort teams. Let us know if you have any questions!

My Jedi master Eeth Koth headcanons!
Eeth Koth has been my comfort charcter for quite a long time, and still is now (and I hope still will be in the future also, bc I cant imagine me existing without my love for Eeth anymore).
So, I've decided to share my most prominent master Koth headcanons that I've accumulated at this point
As promised, I'm posting only general ones, without any specific implied pairings or other relationships!
note: (due not so much info about Eeth in Canon and Legends (unforgivably little actually), maaaaybe I'm projecting some of my own mental stuff on him, but eh, this is unevitable I guess :)
Have fun reading these!
1. Change of the profile
In his youth, Eeth was a Jedi Guardian, a.k.a "Jedi-on-the-front-line", and carried a blue lightsaber. But after the death of his master, followed by him joining the High Council, Eeth calmed down his inner rambo and changed his profile to a Jedi Consular. And so he chose a path of a diplomat, built a green lightsaber (with a hilt very similar to his dead master's one, as a remembrance) and eventually became famous in the Jedi Order exactly for his ability to resolve conflicts peacefully. (that's why no big missions on his part before the Clone Wars era apart from his participation in the Yinchorri incident)
2. The acceptance issue
Eeth pays a lot of attention to his appearance: carefully brushes his hair, makes sure his clothing is perfect, and so on.
Some consider this a simple whim, but in fact this will to have an ideal appearance is a consequence of some issues Koth now has because of his difficult childhood. Due to the fact that Eeth spent his first four years as a ragged orphan in the filthy slums of Nar Shaddaa, he sometimes feels as if he doesn't deserve to be in such a clean and nice place as the Coruscant Jedi Temple. (And the fact that his membership in the Order at first caused a lot of controversy among the Council masters only worsened this fear)
That is why Eeth tries his best to always look as perfect as possible - to be suitable for the beauty of the Temple and to not feel himself a stranger in its walls.
3. Long meditation hours and self-reflecting
He does meditate on his issues quite often, in order to get rid of every irrational fear he has, like the one described in the previous headcanon. Usually he does that in the evening, after all the tasks are completed - he gives himself time to reflect on what happened during the day, what he did and said and how the others reacted. This does help, but still some thorns can be very hard to get out of his hearts. His favourite meditation place is his own quarters in the Temple, where he can have a nice view on the evening/night Coruscant, which is somehow more relaxing to him than the gardens in the Room of Thousand Fountains.
4. A little peek into the apartment
Eeth’s master-quarters in the Temple are decorated with effort and thought. The most significant part are the long heavy thick and soft curtains, that, if closed, take all the light in the room away, leaving the nice pleasant semidarkness atmoshphere. Also Eeth has a lot of various cushions around the whole apartment, along with an enormous supply of aroma candles!
5. The tragedy of the Padawan
Eeth's first and only Padawan learner was Sharad Hett.
Sharad's will to quit the Order deeply hurt Eeth, even if he didn't say that out loud, as he put a lot of effort and dedication in his promise to be the best master possible for Sharad. Also he lowkey agreed with the accusations of other masters telling him he was responsible for Sharad's departure because Koth failed as a teacher - so he does feel himself guilty of failing both Sharad and the Order.
After the Hett's incident, he actually vowed to himself not to take any more Padawan learners, so as not to let anyone's expectations down again. (And, like master Saesee Tiin, chose to put his efforts into other fields rather then teaching)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(these panels still hurt me somehow qwq
Sharad made Eeth cry, for kriffs sake!)
6. But he's still very friendly to kids
Despite the unpleasant exprienece with his own Padawan, he did let go of his initial frustration and now he is quite happy to give younglings and young padawans some general lessons! Also sometimes he takes other masters' students to group trainings or supervises them during the Trials of Knighthood. And young Jedi do love master Koth a lot - because he's soft and very patient, and does allow them some liberties :)
7. The social butterfly
Eeth is a "social butterfly" or a "caretaker" (ESFJ mbti-type)
He is used to being among a large number of people, but even though it seems that he gathers these people around him, in fact this is not true - his natural charm and outgoing personality allow him to easily make new acquaintances, interact with friends and encourage conversations, but he more follows his more assertive companions, adapts his behavior and words to them in order to create the most comfortable atmosphere possible, than directs them himself.
In other words, he offers the fun, but enjoys more the others' reactions to it, than the fun itself!
8. Sweet tooth!
Eeth LOVES sweet things! He generally likes all sorts of sweets, starting with various desserts and finishing with sugary tropic fruits. (Gaining weight? Naaah, the zabraks physiology allows him to consume a lot of food because of the higher metabolism due to the zabraks having two hearts. And also he does a lot of physical exercise in the training halls. So it's not a problem at all!)
9. And he is sweet himself too
This love for sugary things is not only for sweet treats actually, but also for the scents of cosmetics too! (And he does use a lot of that stuff). That is why Eeth usually smells of something nice, either caramel, or vanilla, or fruity etc.
This is often favorited by his colleagues on the Council, who definitely enjoy the pleasant aroma Eeth always brings with him to the Council meetings.
10. Energy drinks!
He got badly used to them during the Clone Wars era, because he really needed an additional energy resource when staying up all night brushing through various diplomatic documents and strategy plans. Caf wasn't much of a help because it just turned out to be not strong enough for the zabrak, so he eventually replaced it with cheap but more effective sweet energy drinks. It doesn't really matter to him which drinks to buy exactly, but the meiloorun-flavoured ones are among his favourites.
11. Form of lightsaber combat
Form III - Soresu!
I actually did a separate essay analyzing why Eeth’s form of combat is definitely Soresu, but if keeping brief: he uses Soresu mixed with some Ataru moves. Ataru was his initial style, advised by his master due to Eeth’s small complexion and natural agility & flexibility, but after changing his Jedi profile to a Consular he also adopted the main Consulars’ style - Soresu (usually called “the diplomat style”, “the most peaceful among the seven'' etc.). Koth’s Soresu moves can clearly be seen in the “Grievous Intrigue” episode in particular. Also Koth’s stance in the "Intrigue" is different from the famous Kenobi's "point-fingers" thingy simply because Eeth's pose is not an opening Soresu stance, but the brace-ready stance, which in Soresu is described as “having much in common with the "Ataru guard," with the hilt held at waist height on the dominant side in a two-handed grip for greater control, extended vertically upwards”
Tumblr media
12. The double-bladed saber
Eeth wields a double-bladed saber almost as well as a regular one.
And in fact, it was Darth Maul who has inspired Eeth to try this kind of a weapon - after the High Council sent him to lead the investigation on the question of a zabrak sith on Naboo in 32 bby, he got genuinely interested in the possible perks of two blades in his Soresu and eventually mastered the double-bladed saber on quite a level. But he still sees this only as an interesting training option, but nothing more. So the double-bladed saber stays in the Temple and is used only in the Training Halls, but never on the battlefield.
Tumblr media
13. An earring (yes, in the singular form)
Eeth has one of his ears pierced (right one), and he actually has several different earrings, mostly simple, like basic metal rings, which he usually picks every morning according to his mood. But to be honest, this earring thing is purely only for himself - because you can’t really see his ears under his usual three-ponytails hairstyle.
Though, he did abandon wearing earrings during the Clone Wars era - because since the war began and the potentially dangerous missions became more frequent, it wasn’t really a right place and time for such things, especially knowing that the Separatists can use some specific traps (like the ones they used to magnetize Jedi lightsabers on Lola-Sayu). The prospect of losing the whole ear due to such a trap is not the most pleasant one indeed.
14. HUGS (and other tactile activities)
Eeth very very VERY much loves hugs!
And for him, tactile contacts are more than just a way to feel comfortable - for him it's a vital part of the whole communication process. This issue dates back to his master, Kosul Ayada, who was a herglic (a race that is actually not very good at speaking Galactic Basic), and therefore helped himself with gestures and body language. And spending a lot of time around master Ayada, Eeth also got used to supporting his verbal dialogue by body language and tactile contact.
That is why while speaking Eeth actively gestures, grabs the other's hands, squeezes shoulders etc. And the hugs are his way to express sympathy and also to feel safe and appreciated!
15. Driving skills
Master Koth can drive, and actually quite well. And by driving I mean not spaceships, but smaller things that stay on land, like speeders.
And because he is a diplomat who often attends various meetings with senators and ambassadors, he also has a personal speeder, allocated to him by the Order for the ease of attending senator events and other diplomatic ocasions.
(But he does use it for other personal purposes too, because why not to, if there is an opportunity)))
Tumblr media
(A panel of Eeth casually driving a speeder like a damn pro is one of my fav Eeth comics crumbs,,,,,,)
16. Singing
Eeth enjoys singing! But he usually keeps this thing to himself, making the quiet manthra-like singing a part of his meditative prep - it helps him to settle down his tangly thoughts a bit and tune his mind and body for the actual meditation.
(the hc was inspired by Hassani Shapi’s singing in one of his films, because Shapi’s voice is really beautiful and I’m sad they didn’t give him even a single line in the Phantom Menace when filming Koth’s Council scene)
17. Space soap operas...? (not so serious, sometimes treated as crack, but sometimes not)
Koth (secretly) likes soap operas on the late-night HoloNet, and often stays up to watch a new episode of something before going to bed. His favourite series is called “Lekkus of love” (my imaginary in-universe show I usually use in my sw writings) and it's about a twi’lek girl’s life, filmed in the style of our “Magnificent Century”, with lots of romantic intrigues and twists.
18. LOTS of feelings
Referencing the previous one - Eeth is very emotional, actually! Yes, he’s a Jedi and he knows how to keep his mind clear, but he’s still sensitive enough to actually cry over sad episodes of "Lekkus…" because “Poor Ai’sha, she worked so hard to get her man’s attention, but he still chose that togruta girl? This is outrageous, this is unfair! :ccc”
Also this can be in fact explained biologically. He's a zabrak, and zabraks are supposed to have a hot, blazing, higly-emotional nature (to match their home planet, Iridonia, wich is also boiling with acid seas and all that - otherwise they won't survive)
19. Podracing as a favourite sport
Eeth enjoys podracing. He first got into it back on Nar Shaddaa, when he heard a lot about racing and stuff from smugglers and bounty hunters (and at that time he even dreamed of becoming a cool podracer - but that was of course before he was taken to the Temple).
Now he doesn't dream of podracing that much, but still can and actually does enjoy watching annual championships via HoloNet. He also tries to keep in touch with the latest news in the podracing world (that interest he shares with the young Anakin Skywalker, and they do sometimes occasionally discuss podracing when they both have free time)
20. Horns
Eeth doesn’t really trust droids with trimming his horns, so he usually does that by himself, in the freshener, and that always takes a while. Also unlike a lot of male iridonian zabraks, who prefer to keep the tips of their horns comparatively sharp as a sign of their brutality and masculinity, Eeth chooses to make the tips humbly rounded and smoothed.
21. A pet? (Also not so serious - but sometimes it IS the most serious hc!)
Eeth has a pet loth-cat! The loth-cat is a she-cat, and she's big, fluffy and always on her own mind. Agen Kolar sometimes points out that the loth-cat is very similar to her owner in a lot of little things, like the way the cat purrs when being hugged and how she is obsessed with being clean and ideal too.
The loth-cat is also a bit jealous of her owner’s attention, so she will every time make herself comfortable on his knees when Eeth is meditating or working with documents to show that this is HER man. (especially when smb comes over to Eeth’s apartment - that's the case when she just NEEDS to state who’s the real boss here).
22. Participation in the first battle of Geonosis
I headcanon that Eeth was not directly on the Petranaki Arena actually during the first battle of Geonosis in the AOTC. Since he's not on-screen in that symbolic circle of survivors but is still stated as a participant, I assume that instead of being a part of the main group, Eeth joined Yoda on his trip to Kamino. Maybe not directly on the planet but still somewhere there, helping to gather clone legions to guide them to Geonosis.
(p.s. I know that Eeth's on-screen absence is because of Shapi being replaced with another actor and the new character turning out not at all alike to TPM Koth, but this little hc actually kinda fixes the hole without ruining anything…?))
