october pick a pile shifting reading from someone in my desired reality !
happy october & happy almost halloween ! ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
i usually do there jellycats / piles to pull from but this month has only two. for the life me me i couldn’t do a third reading. i did these two back to back & tried to do a third one but it just…wasn’t happening. i tried to come back to it at a later date & still nothing. i chose to take that as a sign & only have two for this month.
as the title says, these are readings from people in my desired reality. i didn’t ask for advice from anyone specifically but i do have my own hunches on who these are from.
in regards to next months readings im kinda out of ideas at the moment. if anyone want a reading from a specific list of characters from the same piece of media maybe ? or a question or a reading from someone in your desired reality as a general reading ? maybe they’ll be next months reading, who knows. ill put a poll out with the most popular ideas suggested so be on the lookout for that so please don’t shy away from letting my know your ideas. <3
one more thing i promise but please don’t force messages to resonate. there will be more readings coming so it’s okay if you don’t resonate as that just means this message wasn’t for you.
✧˖°. black bashful pumpkin bunny.
signs / songs : pink tank top, round “harry potter style” glasses , werewolf by fiona apple , just by radiohead.
you are currently in a state of conflict or are about to be in one. as a result, something is being suppressed. it is unclear where you stand on your viewpoint when it not only comes to shifting but a laundry list of opinions & thoughts. you often try to put yourself in others shoes which can only leave you more conflicted on what is “right” for you. at this time your mindset is being challenged. you can break mental cycles & patterns at anytime. you just have to be willing to do so.
though, you seemingly have an outright refusal to let go. from my understanding, this “letting go” isn’t physical & is a mental battle between your past & present. this upcoming & current “conflict” can relate to some sort of belief that was instilled into you by someone else or unnecessary pressure you brought upon yourself subconsciously. this thinking & patterns you have tend to bleed into shifting that leaves you at a cross roads. you have a this tendency to overthink & get in your head so much that you scare yourself out of your desires.
you can either a.) overcome it, accept the hand you’ve been dealt & move onto greatness or b.) stay remaining where you are & allow it to keep holding you back.
this person wants you to know harping on the past will not change it. overthinking will not benefit you. thinking on your past suffering will not make it hurt any less & will only result in you becoming addicted to the feeling of your suffering. there will always be suffering. there will always be hardships. learn to live alongside your struggles without them letting them destroy you.
you already have all the tools to overcome whatever may be preventing you from moving forward. you are in control of your own future & what your next move is. don’t overstay your welcome in a place that is causing you so much pain.
✧˖°. bartholomew pumpkin bear
signs / songs : 2:22 , 4:44 , millipedes , blue feathers, hanna barbera cartoon characters, let’s kill tonight by panic ! at the disco.
you may be stubborn in beliefs & frustrated that things haven’t worked out that way you wanted them to. you may also have some sort of superiority complex when it comes to your beliefs & struggle to admit when you’re wrong at times. in addition, a tendency to become bitter and jealous easily over others, even if you have the means to obtain them yourself.
perhaps it’s how long you’ve been trying to shift that is fueling these influx of negative thinking. despite wanting to shift, there is a lack of emotion from a specific desired reality (or reality shifting entirely). at times, find yourself still pushing through shifting methods & routines despite thr the mental exhaustion of it all. you want to shift of course. you tell yourself you want to but believing in yourself & having your mind be clouded by negativity, methods feel more & more like a chore. there is a lack of clarity of where you want to shift. without direction, you don’t know where to go. to this person, planning for stability comes first & rewards come second. you need a more of a solid foundation to thrive.
take this as a reminder to watch what you say to yourself & your projection onto others due to your feelings of lack. take risks but ensure they’re calculated ones. gaining a sense of independence may help you.
this reading specially was a little all over the place & that may be a reflection on where you’re at right now. there was an emphasis on you wanting to be in control & underlying themes of wanting material goods — so that could be relevant to some of you.
thank you for reading ! hope this resonated & proves some clarity for you ˘͈ᵕ˘͈⸝*

the mountain goats deserters fan album: have not listened to the whole album yet but god, what a cool and unique thing that i don't think could really exist for most other bands. Five Fucking Hours

reading: Polynesian Tattooing Tools, linked from Fairhaven comic
why gen z is obsessed with point-and-shoot digital cameras: it's funny because a few months ago i was considering getting a cheap point-and-shoot to fuck around with. looks like i am not the only one who was thinkin about it.
i'm working my way through le guin's 'the left hand of darkness'! i bounced off it the first time i tried reading it a few years ago but last year i read a le guin short story anthology that had some stories set on karhide and i think that gave me a good enough primer on the world/her writing style to get it to stick this time. i'm enjoying it! it's a good book!
watching: mina le - booktok & the hotgirlification of reading: some good background video for crochet etc. bernadette banner - hand sewing regency stays should be quick...right?: oughhhhh so pretty. bernadette banner - this regency court gown is probably my favorite project ever: i won't lie i got a little misty-eyed at the artisans getting to sign their names on the robe.
rewatched the gay and wondrous life of caleb gallo. i forgot how good it is, it really holds up and is still funny
also, continued doctor who watch/rewatch. i'm ngl i think the way rory and amy were shoved off screen was...really stupid. "he can't go back to that specific year in ny :(" ok, before amy gets zapped back you just go "yo go to new jersey in a few days" and go pick them up. really silly imo
playing: fallow. did buy miserichord, omori, and slay the princess in the steam summer sale. i have signalis, voyager 19, and a short hike in my cart as we speak. more games that i haven't played to feed the steam library let's goooo
making: crocheted some granny squares.
pattern for the yellow one is this lantana square...if anyone has any interesting looking granny square patterns that would be good in one solid color send em my way!
thinking of getting this pattern too.
i realized this past week that my urge to Make has been very stale and derivative the past few years, if that makes sense. like i don't feel Creative, i see something and mimic it - i do paintings based on photos i took, i follow knitting patterns, i come across something ceramic and decide to make one of my own, i find reference images to copy. but no actual, like, Inventing on my own end. i think that's why i haven't done a lot of fanart or fanfiction as well, just no ideas. i know that's just part of the cycle of creativity and i'm just in a "hunter-gatherer" period of amassing skills and references but idk. i'm tired of it. i want to create more meaningful things but i have no actual ideas, the well feels dry, and i'm not sure how to fix that.
eating: fallow

YOU SELECTED: CIRCLE SKIRT
not gonna lie, this one surprised me a little!!! (or, the fact it was such a clear winner did anyway!) you wont hear me complaining though, i LOVE a circle skirt, theres just something about the way they move that no other skirt shape seems to match, no matter how much fabric is in it. i hope youre looking forward to pattern cutting shenanigans way down the line, the lay plan for this is gonna be Weird....
Moving on from skirts, its time to think about what the top of this dress might look like.....
(for the purposes of this poll, a shirt dress is going to refer to anything with a button front closure and a collar of some kind)
additional notes under the cut as usual
Heres just a handlful of examples of what a shirt dress Could look like- shirt dresses were a super popular style for casual 50's style dresses, and ive had making one on my list for a while (i actually have a green duvet cover earmarked to make one one day i think, though in my research for this ive seen a super cool dress i might take inspo from for it instead, esp if this becomes a shirt dress) i love all the different options for collars & sleeve styles you can pick from, all the places you can have a fun little accent! i could pick fun matching or contrast buttons, there could be some trim around the collar or the button stand.... theres so many ways to play around with this!
another pro of the shirt dress is specific to the fact were making a circle skirt. one thing on the negative side of the shirt dress is that center front seam, splitting the pattern completely in half at the best spot to see it in all its glory- however as i mentioned in the skirt post, with this fabric, the way i cut the circle skirt is probably gonna be a bit weird, and its going to leave me with a whole bunch of odd shaped pieces that will probably benefit from smaller individual pattern pieces that shirt dresses have (i cannot say for certain until im working on my layout, though, and i have none shirt dress ideas that will do this too, but! its definitely something to note) it'd also be a way to make the center front seam the circle skirt will probably have seem more intentional into the design (though again, i have ways to combat that in the case that we dont go this way)
howeverrrrr i am very on the fence about a shirt dress being the right way to take this project. again, shirt dresses are a super popular casual style! but in that way, i worry itll be harder to style in a way that seems more formal- especially with the print and fabric combination (ive definitely seen more formal reading shirt dresses, but they tend to be boosted by the fabric choices, satins or taffetas, things that seem fancier in general) i would like to get some "nice occasion" wear out of this dress if i can, and i think that may be harder this way.
Also, i already own so many blouses, it might be better to have something that brings a different silhuette into my wardrobe. although i do wear those blouses the most, so it also might be ideal to make something that emulates styles im already drawn to.
on the other hand, the options are truly endless if we dont go towards a shirt dress. these images are just a handful of the other style options ive seen out there- not to mention, the backs! i am deeply fond of the classic wide & high necklines that have a deep V into the back- in fact i already have a pattern that could work for this particular style. really, its pointless for me to start elaborating on what other options there are because literally anything you can imagine, we could do.
#i said this would be shorter. i LIED#it feels smart; but fundamentally casual. you would not wear a shirt dress on an evening out (to me)#you might disagree that shirt dresses read super casual ngl but. thats the vibe i feel! esp with cottons n prints n the like#(i feel like i should also note. i am thinking more about the lay plan for the skirt. i think theres ways to swing it without so much#messing around but also Probably??? with pattern matching?? honestly idk its one of those things im just gonna have to start messing with#once we are a bit more settled on design. see what the art of the possible is and all that)#sewing#design#crafting#dress making#pattern making#polls#vintage fashion#sewist#as mentioned before. all images sourced from pinterest from vintage resellers blah blah cept that one thats a 50s ad#i could probably find higher res images but alsoooo. theyre mostly just there if you wanna visualise what i mean

mwah your art is good and nice :>
can I ask for some advice? no worries if u don't want to answer.
do you have any tips on how exactly to practice art? everytime I ask for art advice everyone always says "practice" but idk what to practice first! do you have any strategies for learning how to draw something? do you do excercises? and if so how do they work?and are there any beginner mistakes I should look out for and change specifically?
thank you so much!! have a wonderful week :>
thank you so much! im ok w answering! i dont want to speak as if i am an expert on how to draw things in general as i am learning as well and definitely am not completely learned, so i might not be the best person to ask since im not very professional w my art as I do it as a hobby (and I can only speak on mostly digital cartoon matters) but i reallly hope to try and help u out even a lil ! im really happy that you’re eager to draw :] I wish you so much luck muwah muwah
i also hated when ppl told me “just practice” and i dont wanna inflict tht on u EITHER LOL but also thats just what i ended up doing for awhile but i tried to find some things to help ^_^
tips for practice: My number one rule is that practices should be challenging but still fun, I know it can get frustrating trying to redraw a pose over and over trying to get it perfect. And over time it rlly is all about muscle memory, the longer you draw the more your eyes will pick out specific shapes in everyday life and convert them into its own vision of them! or at least its good to look at life that way, try to pin point key shapes and stress less on details in practices. after you look at key points, THEN you can go over what you have and draw in and over it to make it more “complete.” To stop practices from getting too stressful I recommend starting out drawing what you want a little more simple looking than ur desired finished product. This helps eliminate the pressure of everything not looking “perfect” and keeps your art more loose and fun. Doing this a few times is gonna get ur brain to recognize patterns in art and how things look/flow in anatomy and such. dont get stuck in ur own head abt perfecting everything to the point you either 1) give up bc ur not at a level capable of it being 100% “perfect” or 2) focus so much on making it perfect that you end up saying the work looks “wonky” or stale in dynamics, So while I do think studies help, don’t get too lost in them. I always practice with media I enjoy too, whether it’s characters or fashion I enjoy.
Strategies learning to draw something: people get mad abt this one but I think tracing reference photos is great. its been awhile but When I tried learning to draw hands better at first I would trace them then put the traced image to the side of the canvas, then try and replicate what my mind saw as its most important angles and aspects. Same for clothing folds/hair/etc! I think it’s maybe not the best idea to trace the ref and use the tracings as is, because you learn more from tracing it then trying to replicate and simplify what u learned into the style you’re working in. Find what shapes you like from them and don’t over detail it. you may have to go by eye and think “what parts of this ref photo should i simplify to fit my style” and for me, its usually adjusting the length of the torso and then the limbs by associations. i dont recommend feeling like u need a reference for every art you make though, its ok to let ur own head try out its own sometimes too while trying to learn this, see if it remembers any call bad from the past referenced sketches! over time ull remember where everything goes more, these days i rarely kick myself to use refs but im sure they still would help to use, but figure drawing simple blobby figure in a bunch of random poses was a big thing i used to do as well to get better at full body art + overall dynamics (still does this). also paying attention to silhouettes is great
Exercises and how they work: I WANNA HELP U SO BAD BUT to be honest, all the works on my blog ARE exercises! i rarely actually do finished pieces, if u scroll thru my posts ull notice most r sketches. i usually just fill up a page and call it “warm ups” then i get attached to some of them, take a few, and just line them up pleasingly on a smaller page, then color them in (or sometimes fix the lines to be more clean too). im not rlly a person who “exercises” to practice, it more so happens from just me drawing a lot for fun as a hobby! but i really should. i will tell u this has humbled me a lil i need to start practicing too 😭 LOL but a good exercise is to look at what ur inspirations do, and study it. Make a collage and write out what you like most abt their styles/what u want to gain from them. For ref Here’s a page I did awhile ago when someone asked me abt my insps:
i also look at fashion magazines and as well as anime figures and take insps from that sometimes with learning cool poses and compositions to convert into my own things
Beginner mistakes to look out for: its hard for me to pin point “mistakes” beginners make, as sometimes we cant avoid all of them or even notice them, progress comes from growing out of old ways. some mistakes are even the foundation of ur future amazing cool style! but i think some things to look out for could be these, from my own old art experiences
Hands were the first thing I learned bc i liked drawing them. I don’t know if that is the best way to go but I think it is smart to practice sooner than later, here is a lil guide thingggyyy wingyyy from awhle ago
i see beginners shy away from drawing signs of age in people, sometimes adding too much detail on an older person in cartoon art makes it look weird, so i try and hit the key markings on ppls faces of age.
Too thin of lines. sometimes its a stylistic choice to use thin lineart, and it can look amazing ! but sometimes it can flatten an image if ur not familiar with its flow. im not saying use thick line art, but more so to keep in mind the weight of ur strokes, adding depth with a thick thin combo of line art can do SO much for the simplest of pieces. heres a visual from a while back when i talked abt my brush + more abt lines:
but if ur desired style is thin lineart that is cool too! tbh it was just harder for me as a beginner
sometimes artists think they need to do full lineart for everything and then hate how it looks compared to the sketch, do not fear i will introduce u to my bff: painting over a sketch, extractinging the lines, then calling it line art. i only do this sometimes but its a fun exercise-ish thing to do in a pinch. example:
finding what shading fits ur art. sometimes ill see ppl starting out who have a style thats very simple, but they use a very detailed rendering process on it. this is not something id ever police of course, art is each persons own choice! And it CAN work. It can be so cute! but sometimes mixing two very contrasting mediums of art can throw off the “put together” look of it. i use to abuse the airbrush tool thinking it made my simple style look super cool and detailed, but looking back on it now those pieces looked a little off, having such a simple style have somewhat more realistic shading. dont get me wrong the ability i see ppl use rendering like that is so insanely talented! but i found cellshading to be a good match for cartoony art like my own. a tip i learned way too late abt that is rather than shading each layer by color picking a darker color, instead use a clipping mask over the entire art (above line art too as I color my lineart) and lasso tool the areas u want shaded + fill it w a saturated purple then set to multiply + lower opacity. also, sometimes coloring can come out chalky looking when u meant for it to be smooth and transitional, i think this comes from overshading and overlighting pieces without reason. pay attention to where the light source is, and focus on making the shaded and lighter areas nice shapes that cover the necessary areas, then u can add additional shading to the smaller details of what should have a casted shadow/light
its good to spice up ur art now rather than later, focusing making ur art pop more w backgrounds will help ur coloring skills look better too! i dont mean detailed huge backgrounds, a small lil color pallet and design rather than a blank white bg. like this will make u feel better abt it or at least it helped me *sweats* yeah:
beginners tend to draw blank faces like “:)” but I think a good thing to do is try and get silly with expressions early on. It’s okay if the mouth hangs off the face cartoonishly with joy or shock, it’s ok if the eyebrows are super high in surprise.
tracing and pasting it as is (already said this but I’ve seen ppl do it a lot with hair styles and it makes it look alienated from the rest of the style) (final fantasy fans found critically injured) n if need a ref for a pose, using a real humans anatomy as-is doesn’t look quite right on a cartoonyish drawing. Shortening torso and legs usually comes out of this for me!
flip ur canvas i promise u it’ll be less embarrassing over time!
using guidelines for perspective and foreshortening is GREAT. Do it stylistically rather than realistically to add some groove to it...yay. Having silly perspective in art can make it look like a 10 so easily opposed to a normal front facing sketch. Look at cool poses from fashion magazines! Don’t be scared to draw something you don’t feel confident in conveying perfectly, this is why progress redraws exist :)
Drawing the hairline b4 u draw the hair is great, it helps u understand where their hair flows from, where it starts and stops, AND prepares u for drawing bald ppl. Also don’t make the head too big, the skull IS bigger up top, but sometimes I see an alien head affect.
Anatomy is an interesting mistake that beginners make a lot, but it’s one they find harder to notice! When I started out, all my art would be SO wonky, but I didn’t even realize it! It still happens today too! specifically though I see beginners struggle with the arms in this department. My advice is to try and measure them out and make sure they don’t go past the knees, and are the same length as each other when Unfolded. asking for criticism is hard but it helped me realize when i would make something bigger/longer than it should have been in my art, and stuck with me being able to go “oh... i see it LOL”
clothing wrinkles- do not over do it! Too many wrinkles and shading can look unpleasant and wirey- like a plastic table cloth all bunched up which isn’t exactly what ppl wear. pay attention to gravity too
I hope this helped even a lil im sorry tht I’m not very good at explaining or didn’t have much to sayyy! If u have any troubles no guarantee I’ll have the answer, but ur always free to ask!

hi 👀
for the "get to know your writer meme"...... I want to know all 77
BUT
I am restricting myself to asking you JUST the following: 4, 10, 20, 29, 39 (specifically, feel free to murder me with the fight club au), 54, 56, 64 (an answer I definitely won't use for nefarious purposes so don't feel the need to answer carefully)
AHHHH THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME SO MANY MY FRIEND
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
where dont i find inspiration…. everything reminds me of them EVERYTHING. but one of my biggest inspos is music i’ll listen to a song and i’ll be like. okay but what if this was about Them.
10. Cltr+f "blinks" on your WIP & copy paste the first sentence/paragraph that comes up
blinks is not in there and neither is blink. if you wanna pick another ill go looking for you.
20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
well ed always has adhd and stede is always autistic but other than that no i havent noticed and i think its because every time i write an au im so deliberately trying to create a unique space that i almost develop my own set of language styles for it. it gets a unique texture. or maybe my stuff is super repetitive and i sound wanky as hell right now and i’ll take that too.
29. What’s your revision or editing process like?
well for one shots that are not super important to me ill reread a couple times just to make sure its legible, for longer one shots ill have s beta go over it and pick at it and ill actually chew on the edits and make sure i land what im trying to sell. for my long fic i wrote a first draft and then chapter by chapter i went “is this thematically consistent do i like how it sounds do i even like this” and i wrote and rewrote MANY pieces
39. Share a snippet from a WIP
HAHA IM COMING FOR YOU KATHERINE
from the not fight club au
“Exactly how he snaps up his gaze when Ed is still a few paces away, how his gaze falls on him, heavy like a steel toed boot, heavy like a string of someone else’s pearls around a neck, heavy like heavy like heavy.
Exacting as he steps forward, one, two, into Ed’s space, grips his hands into Ed’s jacket, one, two, steps back, twists, dragging Ed with him, one, two, until Ed’s pressed against the back of the car.
(Hungry) (it is hungry) (it is starving) (Ed’s own stomach growls)
There’s a beat where Stede waits, a beat where Ed nods, one, two, and then—
And then Stede kisses Ed.
(and then Stede kisses Ed) (and then Stede kisses Ed) (and then Stede kisses Ed)
And then Ed kisses Stede.”
54. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
putting my beautiful baby girl ed in situations. just lots of wish fulfilment playing with my favorite barbie.
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
i really like that everything i write has distinctive voice in it. everything i write has serial numbers on it, like its definitely mine.
64. Something you love to see in smut.
as MCR once said (and its hilarious because this is genuinely the song thats come on shuffle as im typing this): Blood!
no seriously. blood. i love blood. gimme some blood.

For the DCA fandom question thingie: 1, 5, 9, 16, 19, 20!
Thank you for the ask and the questions to answer from it! ^-^
how did you get here?
I'm a long standing FNAF fan! (not THE longest since I got into the fandom around late 2016 early 2017 just around when SL came out or a smidge before it really…) And when SB game out at first, from the trailer's at least; I wasn't TOO keen on the DCA's or how things would end up with the game, it was pretty out there to me. BUT! When it finally game out and watching GTLive play through it the daycare section (And Moon's part in partically) really drew my attention, was-and still is- my favorite part of the game, I grew attached to them and it grew from there!
I already had a FNAF special interest and in turn grew one for th DCA specifically as well!
if you make content, what's your favorite piece you've contributed?
Oh dear…this is a tough one….I'll start with written first It'd be a tie between 'System Overload' and 'Pretty Moon?' My first and 4th works with the DCA's they hold a bit of sentimentality.
As for drawing…While a bit of an Au drawing, this illustration of J-tol Moon (Moo) I just really love how they turned out ^-^ (Reminder to please use they/them for Moo!)
what do you think of the dca's canon appearance? Scary? Cute? Something else?
I think they look neat! All the little details are fascinating and it makes curious how they would function if they had existed in the real world!
Along with that I generally have a fondness for celestal themed things (suns, moons, stars, clouds) along with star and striped patterns, I just think they're really neat, so the DCA's design really fits these lil things I enjoy! Andddddd……..Moon's design reminds me an itsy bitsy bit of little porcelain clowns I collect so that's neat!
what's something in the fandom you'd like to see more of?
That's hard to say…theres so, so, sooooo many wonderful things already in the fandom and so much wonderful creators and creations! Always new ideas and new twists on ideas, its amazing to see!
Maybe more….I wouldn't say crossovers….but more stories and other creations with the DCA's and older fnaf games and characters! I don't tend to see this very often but I LOVE all of FNAF and I love getting to see the DCA's interacting with previous games characters and lore and making twists so the DCA are appart of older games, like new timelines and all that its just so cool to see!
do you think you'd actually get along with the dca if you met them irl?
Ignoring the fact a first meeting irl with…any of them would….not be good (many reasons…. :' D) While I haven't watched HW2 yet I have the jist of things from it and…Sun? Maybe?
But…no strong guarentee….bit more likely with Moon but….also iffy cause…its Moon.
Eclipse tho, I'd probably have the best chance to get along with them (I have…been told by friends i am 'eclipse-core' and come across as similiar vibes to them at times?) So one yes, the other two….iffy unfortunately. (I'm moreso meaning on their end, I would Irl be cool with em all personality wise, but whether THEY would with me….less so :' D)
free space! talk about whatever's on your mind
Let's see let's see...While I will admit to having been a wee bit distracted with other fandoms past little bit, my love for the DCA and the fandom has not died out!
I've still been engaging in the fandom if a bit more...out of sight such as with some fun little projects with beloved friends both with the PDC au blog (tho limited on there >_<) and other things I can't say quite yet!
And a lovely little blog that.....well if you know of it and know it's me behind it....good on you for figuring it out! Unfortunately that little lovely is one you'll have to find on your own!
And while im a tad slow, I have been picking away at working on things for LSAU lots to do, lots to do before i can get into the fun stuff and start showing it off properly tho!
I suppose last but not least...I'll leave with this!
This wonderful story by ShivaCheshire! I've recently started reading it and its just really well written and captures the DCA beautifully! Would highly recommend (and its even better if you're looking for a long fic!)

Hey! Im sorry if this question has already been asked (I feel like it has) but how would you describe the angels’ fashion to be like? I know they wear lots of jewelry and adornments but I’d like to get a good idea, especially with the ways they do their hair.
I’m currently working on some character designs for a short graphic novel piece im tryna do. So far im going for a mix of traditional Mexican flowery designs and the elaborate robes I see angels wearing in religious paintings.
Also, I imagine that after the fall, the angels stop wearing so much jewelry and adornments, and start to wear more modest vestments, akin to those of a cleric’s. This is either because of their shame for what happened or to show their allegiance to God, and to disavow the past (Lucifer’s rebellion). Meanwhile, the demons continue to dress extravagantly, decked out in every sort of jewel there is.
Hello! I don't think anyone's every specifically asked about fashion!
I usually imagine their fashion to be a big mash-up of cultures, with the biggest influence being Roman (which is probably what you're seeing in those angel paintings) and Mexican ! I do gain inspiration from other cultural backgrounds (generally "Near East" ancient culture, given Christianity's birth there, even if I'm going the Roman Catholicism route) but I generally stick to "robes and tunics" in a purposefully vague way.
When I describe angels in tunics, I tend to imagine them in the style of colorful huipils:
Though, it's less that "the angels in ABM are explicitly in huipils" and more that I see their clothing as really beautifully embroidered, with patterns and striking colors. So you could imagine them in something like... traditional Slavic embroidered dresses or anything else you like :) The intent here is that the angels have the time (because they live forever) to make really intricate, detailed, time-consuming clothes, so that's what they like to wear
Braids are mentioned a lot in ABM! I think there's definitely something there about ribbons in braids, (which is more Mexican influence on my part ajhdsjkds). All angels have long hair, so I think they generally find creative ways to pick it up and have gotten attached to braids for that reason. I know head coverings are brought up too, and I imagine their head coverings to be embroidered or patterned like their clothes. (Angels are obsessed with colors). I think they like to put flowers in their hair, also! Flower crowns are probably popular, but I imagine they can get a bit annoying if the flowers on the crown keep yapping.
As for jewelry — I imagine they have a lot of filigree jewelry. This:
I think this for the same reason that they're so into embroidery — it's time-consuming, beautiful, and very detailed.
At the end of the days, angels are just really obsessed with color, detail, and patterns! It's incredibly over the top! But they're gay angels so of course its over the top
Good luck with the graphic novel piece!!!! And thank you very much for the ask
(( Oh and — maybe this is a spoiler but you've predicted what happens regarding fashion for angels and demons 100% :') ))
#biblically accurate ABM angels in huipils#but seriously dw too much about it!#its more about the vibe than anything else#and the vibe is Colorful and Beautiful#mine#ask

20, 22, 29, 40, 56, and 75-77 for ODIETLG specifically
Picking your brain is one of my favourite Tumblr hobbies
ITS GREAT THATS ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE HOBBIES BC IM A BIG FAN OF TALKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
20. have you noticed any patterns in your fics? words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc? UMMMM call me the forgetter the way i forget..... there are definitely words/expressions that show up a lot definitely. im sure if i looked hard enough id be able to see them GHFDJGSDFKG aaaaaannnnd as for themes i noticed ive been writing a lot on trauma and some of the uglier side effects of it ESPECIALLY when put in a situation that does not encourage healing or anything like that other than that I AM REALLY BLANKING THERE ARE DEFINITELY SO MANY MORE COMPARISONS TO BE DRAWN LMFAOOOO
22. are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc) hmmmmm i do a LOT of genfics and im not that much of a purely romantic type of guy yknow..... i dont see myself doing anything like that in the future i reckon! unless its a gift or something :). in the same vein i dont think ill be posting smut on my main ao3 either just bc i feel like itd really come out of left field ghfjkdgshdjkfgh.
29. what’s your revision or editing process like? i stare at it. hope google docs caught any spelling errors. convert it into ao3. hope ao3 caught any spelling errors. send it out. wake up the next morning and grimace so hard
40. if someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see? IF ANYBODY MAKES FANART OF MY WORK I CRY IMMEDIATELY YOU HAVE NO IDEAAA HOW MUCH IT MEANS TO ME SERIOUSLY. ohhhh there are a lot of big scenes in fics ooooo............. if youre looking for a dramatic piece of fanart then the miu+kokichi confrontation in lgowab is a good one. the sonia+akane conversation in opddmh could be cute........... like them on the floor looking up yknow. like a little comic. i can see it in my brain. and oooo a lot of interactions from that second last chapter of odietlg when the whole place is falling apart ................................
56. what’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on? BWAH uhm the characterisation :) i try to keep them in character but also make them feel a little more real if that makes senseee
75. what scene in odietlg took the longest to write? what was difficult about it? ooo its been a while hm. odietlg was during a time i had a LOTT of time on my hands so i was whipping through chapters so fast it was crazy. um. maybe the finale???? just because it was a lot longer than most chapters and i kept going back to flip a few things around and all of that :))
76. did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut of odietlg? I DONT HAVE A DISCORD CHANNEL FOR THIS ONE SO THERE ISNT A LOT OF EVIDENCCEEEEEE let me think let me think. because this story was more interactive there were a few scenes that didnt make the cut solely because it wasnt voted for!!!!! i know there were MULTIPLE executions that were avoided during that miu gonta trial. there were a few more scenes including a tsumugi conversation that got cut in favour of the tenko/himiko chat in the bunker. ummmmmm unrelated to any sort of poll im really unsure!!! odietlg had a lot less planning which means a lot of initial ideas made the final cut!! i think tenko nearly started hearing other "voices" other than angie but i decided against that just bc it was never supposed to be supernatural or anything
77. do you have a favorite scene you’ve written from odietlg story/chapter? OOOO THERE ARE A FEW SCENES I ENJOYED WRITING i think one of my favorites has to be the final 3am encounter with shuichi and tenko. it really just felt like all of those conversations were building up to this last one and i loved writing the setting and loved writing their interaction bc it just felt like a great culmination of their character development up until that point but ESPECIALLY tenkos :)

listen you ever forget to read the second half of something and you're like aw shit i did not foresee anyone choosing the star option (im jesting ily)
interestingly, the gummy has also just hit in a big way, so don't mind if ive talked about this before or if nothing makes sense i am inebriated
its no real secret that ive been depressed as shit lately, compounded by all the apartment stress and anxiety about things i can't do jackshit about. brains. but in response, ive been thinking about come through callin' a lot lately, which is probably my favorite thing ive written the longer time goes on. (if you've not read it, it's pre-exploding barbed wire death match mox/eddie, sad, dark-ish time loop fic) but very specifically, ive been thinking about the danny/yuta time loop, come through callin'-adjacent fic that exists in my head, and im never gonna write it, so im gonna tell you about it
where callin' takes place before the exploding barbed wire match, this one takes place the day of final battle 22 when yuta won the pure title back, from dannys pov. he's just put on a fuck of a match, it was gruelling and it was a fuckin banger and he fucking lost. he won that title from the little shit, he shouldn't have been able to take it back. he wakes the next morning, and it's final battle all over again. he thinks, okay, that was just a horribly realistic dream. it's whatever. i just won't do what i did in the dream and it won't come true, easy. except he loses again. and again. and again, and again, again again again. he can no longer claim it's a dream, it's real and it's happening and he has to just keep reliving that defeat over and over again, no matter what he does different. what if i counter here, what if i hit him there, what if i shake his hand, what if i walk away? what if i get disqualified, what if i piss him off so bad that he does? what if i betray jericho? what if i join them? and not one thing changes. until he simply doesn't fight. doesn't do a damn thing to defend himself, doesn't raise his hands or pick himself up when yuta knocks him down.
and yuta looks confused about it, of course he does. danny hasn't once backed down from a fight, not ever. he's never given up, he's never just quit. he hesitates and he falters, and with a start his eyes suddenly clear. "c'mon, danny," yuta says, standing over his prone form, blood on his knuckles from danny's nose, or maybe it's his lip. "let's get this round over with. this isn't gonna change anything, you're still gonna have to lose again tomorrow."
but he doesn't get up, he just stares and stares until yuta takes pity on him and chokes him out.
he's on his feet and storming down the hallway before he even knows what's hit him, barely remembering to even put on sweats before in the morning light. yuta remembers, yuta is living through the same goddamn day, too, the prick. couldn't even let danny go crazy by himself.
yuta has been living the same day over and over, too. he's not doing something right. he's winning, over and over again, but he must not be doing it right. he's gotta be quicker, he's gotta be more efficient, more vicious, more something. for all he knows, bryan's meditation shit was magic and he put a curse of him until he becomes the perfect wrestler. weirder things had happened, and bryan was already weird enough already.
he didn't even notice, not until danny gave up. they had the same idea, the same plan. to change enough, to find the right pattern, the right set of moves to win, and they were so in sync that it felt natural, a reaction to some tiny tell neither of them realized they had. they were too well matched, they would fight each other until the end of time before anything truly changed.
that night, danny lost again. but yuta grinned at him, looked a little proud, glad to have him back. he lost the next day, too, but yuta had laughed, breathless, as he pinned danny again. and fucking hell, it was so easy to get addicted to that sound again. they'd fallen into bed before, way back when. bitter rivals meant for great sex, and it didn't change anything, so what was the harm in a little fun? but, how fun could it really be when he still keeps losing? not very. they're evenly matched in a lot of ways, they fall into the same patterns over and over again, regardless. yuta becomes smug and mean and cocky, lording his wins over danny's head; and danny becomes bitter and hateful and resentful, stewing in his hurt until he snaps.
its bitter and it's painful and, goddamnt it, yuta makes him work for it, but he does it. he fucking wins and he keeps his belt. and he still loves yuta, just as much as he hates him, but fuck if that rage on yutas face doesn't satisfy the hateful little thing in his chest. he did it, he fucking won, proved he could, it was all fucking over, yuta would see. it was about danny, finally. it was his time.
except that it was final battle day again. hed won, finally. the time loop shit should be over, right? but it's not. danny is still stuck, and by the looks of the smug prick standing outside his hotel door, so is yuta.
that night he wins again, and it still doesn't work. sometimes yuta starts losing intentionally, just because he knows it's not the answer and it won't matter. lies down, feet crossed and hangs behind his head.
if he's not meant to keep the title, then what's even the fucking answer? how's he supposed to end this? is it even his? what if the entire loop is about yuta, and hes just dragged along for the ride? is trying to break the cycle what's keeping them locked there?
he sees yuta in the hall before the show. and some of that smugness has rubbed away, once the cameras aren't on him. he looks like he used to, back in the white eagle, when they were just kids. and danny hates him, just as much as he loves him, and that isn't gonna change if he wins or loses. they're were trapped in an endless cycle already, before the loops even started. their fates were always going to be tangled, their names always said in the same breath. if wouldn't matter which belt, what company, how many years down the line, whether they were other or apart.
danny was tired, and he wanted it to end. it was exhausting, trying to think about the whole mess, to change literal time and space on top of having to actually live it. and yuta looked tired, too, when he thought danny couldn't see him. never moving forward, just the same fight over and over again, just because they couldnt stop dwelling on the past. it didn't matter what belt, not really, and final battle wasn't the end. what was the point of trying to fight fate any longer? time loop or no, he'd still be fighting yuta for the rest of their lives.
and when he loses again, for the first time, he hesitates, belt in his hands. and he hesitates because he knows it's the last cycle. this is the one that ends it, he's got no more chances to change it, no more do overs. and it sucks, and hes gonna miss the weight of it, and in about three hours he's gonna be an absolute menace again. but it's not the end. their story doesn't end just because the curse did.
so like. that's what i mean when i say "dannyoots time loop au that im never gonna write but still makes me feel things" cuz i like writing out my feelings on inevitability and whether, by neuroscience and brain chemistry or godly machinations, we have free will and the ability to truly change fate, and whether fate exists at all—and if it does, is it possible to exist without feeling like we've no say in its execution

its insane how even with photorealistic ai images that don''t feature human figures, ai art that's just environments or sky/space, my "is this ai art?" alarm still goes off. it's not like i've fine-tuned a skill, beyond my knowledge of how art is made and how art looks - i only learned about ai art in the last 1-2 years.
i don't even know what my eyes + mind are actually picking up on. its different from seeing the errors in say, hyperrealistic cgi environments. its the limitations of the program/medium and human error are peeking out from behind the veil. when i see these errors i see reality. immersion breaks, and im not thinking about the movie or game, but the vfx artist who unfortunately didn't catch some wonky physics before the deadline.
with ai art there is just a very subtle Wrongness. there is no one behind the veil. no person - no medium. (tbf the Wrongness is undoubtedly increased by how many people try to pass ai images off as real photography or human-created art)
i think it's the absence of the golden ratio. sacred geometry? my mind can look and quickly see: "this is not right." these patterns make up the natural world and all the natural world creates, and my eye rarely dwells on them, but when they are absent, i can't look away from the incongruence. "this is not of my world. this does not exist in my world."
(at the same time it's specifically lack of incongruence, imperfection, that can also tip us off to ai. no visible brushstrokes. mistakes look like computer errors and not an unknowledgeable artist making a valiant attempt at drawing hands. etc. but i think this "its not right" thought is specific to images pretending to be photos.)
and this is so interesting, because what it is it about ai art that makes it so unnatural, and what is it about digital art and vfx that circumvents that reaction? is the act of intentional, individual and collective human creation really that powerful? does it show that much in the end product? or is it that the complete absence of that intentional creation that is so powerful? it makes sense that a homunculus of thousands, millions, billions of creations of thousands, millions, billions of people will create something that looks entirely like and entirely unlike anything we have ever created with our own hands. i wonder where this ingrained sense of uncanny valley comes from and why its there. it's like "big eyes = cute" except the purpose of it isn't immediately obvious.
no idea why this post is so long or why im posting it btw

I'm jealous of how many of you on radblr have like good enough moms. Mine was like beyond fucking abusive and I definitely got some internalized misogyny as a result.
And I'm not like trying to play trauma olympics or whatever, like I'm really not. I just see how a lot of you get this female solidarity thingy from your moms, and how much you love her and how much she scarcified for you and all that.
I can't relate to any of these things, the only person that tried and like fought for me was my dad so when you go on about your misandry I just feel so?? Idk i just dont have that anger in common with you.
And no this is not me saying that my dad is "one of the good ones", or that misandry is an overreaction to male oppression. I really need you to know that I don't have any bad intentions w this message.
This is kinda rambly. My US visa got approved today like 1 hour ago, and I only got 30 mins of happiness before she ruined everything.
I'm honestly glad it's at least over it was such a hassle. So yay I guess
Oh anon :( i don't think many people here have good relationships w their moms in a fantastic peas in a pod way. I love my mom, but she also fucked me up in many ways too. Everyone has various relationships w their mothers and the good parts people share here are likely not at all a good picture to compare yourself to either.
And there are definitely plenty of women here or whom we all know with terrible mothers. Women aren't immune to being bad parents and bad people just bc theyre women, obviously. One of my best friends growing up was raised by her dad and her mother was horrible. She was an alcoholic and never sent them to school. Her dad fought for custody of her and her brother, and he raised and loved them well. I would never try to defend her mother just bc shes a woman, she was an insanely horrible person and mother. Thats just an example of, like duh, there are fine fathers out there. Not every woman grows up w perfect moms. I think the idea that there's a way to be a perfect mother is also stupid, theyre people just like us. So i wouldn't necessarily be jealous of anyone. Even the "best" mom or dad will fuck up their kid in some way, thats just how being a parent works i think.
Im not sure what u mean about the misandry thing tho. We don't necessarily bond over our hatred of our fathers or our commonality of good mothers. Often we talk about how shitty men around us are yeah, which often will be immediate figures like fathers or male family, but misandry is about like all men being quite shitty a lot of the time in various ways lol? You don't gotta like start hating ur dad specifically when u start recognizing the patterns of male depravity and shittiness in the world 💀 i mean u could, but like no one is saying plz start hating ur dad if u have no real reason to. theres plenty of other shitty men to hate take ur pick lmao

a collective shifting reading.
hi guys :) if you’re seeing this on tumblr that means you’re getting this three hours early but 7.10 is the anemoiashifts tiktok accounts first birthday 🎂🤍 !
i wanted to do something special & originally i wanted to talk about the first time — and only time — that i have shifted but i don’t think im ready to share something that personal to hundreds of strangers on the internet. then, i was going to do a q&a but i thought that would be a little lazy, then i thought about going live & doing live shifting readings on tiktok but im a pretty shy person so that idea went out the window as quickly as it came. so i hope this video will do :) !
this is a collective shifting reading for all of my followers or anyone who comes across this. this reading is going to be a little longer then my previous ones because i want to provide as much clarity as i can to try & help you guys ⊹ ₊ ⟡ ⋆
who this is for ₊˚ෆ
this reading is for everyone who has shown me support within the past year or decided to stick around for whatever reason; even if this video magically stumbles upon your path. but here are some specifics that ive picked up on:
star or heart shaped jewelry (rings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.) specially, silver jewelry or silver in general. maybe you’re someone who doesn’t take well to criticism. if you have a connection to foxes, mice / rats or house cats. shiny & holographic clothing. soft makeup shades (baby pink, nudes, baby blue).
reading ₊˚ෆ
your biggest “blockade” is your over commitment to your desired reality & shifting as a whole. there needs to be balance or you are pouting yourself at risk for losing your sense of self & going into a downwards spiral. your relationship with shifting is filled with limerence instead of taking control of your life & looking at your life (here or in your dr) long term. you may have multiple dr’s which only fuel that fascination with shifting as a concept. you want to experience so many different things, but you can’t do everything all at once. you have made too many commitments at once. to provide that clarity to yourself, focus on one place at a time. the reason you are so disconnected to your dr is because you’re trying to simultaneously connect with the ten others that you have in that works.
you already understand what doesn’t serve you, doesn’t serve you. weather that be patterns or methods or mindset. you have already let go of them. you don’t need to rehash what you already know. while nostalgic, the era of 2020 / 2021 shiftok has ended & looking back on the past is pointless. because of this looking back to this era with such a yearning to re-spark that initial excitement that you had when the idea of shifting was shown to you, it can quickly become a distraction; reminiscing instead of reigniting.
if you feel stuck, it’s because you feel directionless in your shifting journey. you have so many ideas & so much you want to do but feel lost at sea. you are struggling yo see progress or success. without looking back on what no longer serves you, go back to what you want to get out of shifting. to get out of this never ending cycle, you need to take responsibility for yourself & journey. you also need to recognize the power you already hold. nothing separates a “successful” shifter from a non successful shifter other then how you personally choose to define it. this could be a reflection of your lack of self confidence & be a sign to honoring yourself. how your view yourself, dictates your relationships with other people & how you show up in the world. you could be repressing traumas & emotions & trying to put a band aid over them though shifting. if you feel shame or stupid for putting in energy to reality shift, don't. if it brings you joy then know anything that brings you happiness is worth it & never a waste.
thank you for reading & i hope this resonated with you & you were able to maybe see your journey in a new light or get some clarity. i love you so very much !! ໒꒰ྀིっ˕ -。꒱ྀ !!

man im in a weird headspace recently... first The One headcanons, and now this... that's a lotta thoroughly dead content i'm giving brain space to
So, in the now tragically forgotten and buried jrpg franchise, Wild Arms, there was this whole fun gimmick where the wild west influence extended into other tangential americana as well. there's heavy borrowing from D&D, and horror films as well as westerns, and classic romanticized cowboy mythos and such... So in any case the games also had a few cross media spinoffs, including a TV anime and a shortlived manga.
There is a character in the manga named Jye-chi-ka[ジェチカ] which the brave, lone scanlator team, TurtleParadise --back in... what, 2010?-- romanized as Jessica. But I don't know if that's correct.
For context, the other two leads in the series are named Ma-ku-shi Re-mi-n'-to-n'[マキシ・レミントン] transliterated back into Maxi Remington, a clear reference to the Remington Arms Company, his sister, ko-ne-tto[コネット] taken to be something like Conette or Connett, and Gy[ギィ] who they called Guy, as in the French name, which I think was the correct choice. But as you can sort of see, apart from the Remington bit, the names don't appear to be overt references to anything else to help triangulate Jechika's name.
Jechika is btw a member of a minority group of native American analogs within the Wild Arms world, semi-consistent across different games, called the Baskar. Some other Baskar have been named things like...
Tim Rhymeless and Colette Mapleleaf in WA2; both rather innocuous names... And the family of Gallows, Shane, and Halle Carradine in WA3, much more overtly referencing the iconic scene of lawless frontier justice, Shane from the movie Shane, and Halley's comet plus actor David Carradine, probably tied to this thru the now infamous cult classic TV show, Kung Fu, where producer meddling outed Bruce Lee as lead in favor of having David Carradine play Kwai Chang Caine, a wandering shaolin monk in the wild west.
But this all, as you may be catching onto, also does not help establish clear patterns to help with...
Some random NPCs have names like Harold, Ellen, Cordell, and Laraina? Funny enough these I can sort of tie into references with a bit of guess work.
Cordell in particular stands out as a less common name to have picked here, and I want to assume it's a reference to Cordell Walker, Chuck Norris' star character in Walker Texas Ranger.
In the context of wild west icons, legendary outlaw, Ellen Liddy "Cattle Kate" Watson is the first to come to mind.
I have no idea what to make of Harold... Harold Gould? Semi-famous character actor in TV and film of the 60s-70s? He hardly seems reference worthy, he didn't exactly have a lot of standout roles... Harold McCracken? Sort of famous painter of pseudo-historical wild west scenes? Are those names a random Japanese game dev would have really been able to stumble into in the 2000s? It's the name "Harold" it could be practicallyanyone...
And technically "Laraina"'s name is actually written ri-re-i-na[リレイナ] so that one could just be a localization flub. Actually, it appears to be how they japanized the name of Wynona Rider's character in the 1994 movie, Reality Bites; the character's name is Lelaina Pierce. It's far from being a western but it does take place in Texas, for a Japanese creator maybe that's cowboy adjacent enough?)
So I dunno... Maybe it is Jessica and it's just a weird choice of names because the manga author doesnt have access to the core creative team's specific sensibilities. Maybe it doesn't matter because the core team's sensibilities are also unstable. And if anything, it feels vaguely slavic to me? Like, the way those phonetics roll off the tongue to me sounds like it ought to be something like Tetscheka? Dzhetgya?? Czeschka(like the painter)??? But why would anyone have named a native american analog in some sort of pseudo-slovenian?
I realize this is a cold case. And one without any real answers. But it's one of those things that drives me nuts when I look up somethings simple like, "What were those characters' names again?" and then find myself having wasted the morning on a wild goose chase and now i'm late for work...
#wild arms#arise long slumbering wa fandom#i give you....#well not really content considering this inquiry was just a big fat dead end#i dunno man#i have a train to catch and im not even wearing pants yet

OK SO
technically this is currently two vaguely different ideas, and ill probably only make one in the foreseeable future bUT
waistcoat !!! or pinafore !!!!! (technically three options because im unsure if id go tailored waistcoat or an almost corset style one)
my goal in this project would be to fill in some gaps in my wardrobe, so im thinking black (obviously honestly, i only wear black) and quite plain, but maybe with some embroidery or cording or something, something subtle to add some texture and detail, but still fit in with any outfit i might make.
im split which way yet!
ive wanted to make a waistcoat for a while, but i guess im a little worried that i wouldnt wear it so much? i tend to dress very femme and very. like fluffy? flouncy? lace and flare and delicate fabrics and im not sure a waistcoat would fit into that? but i do really want to make one, i think itd be so fun! i think i would learn a lot of techniques even from a simple waistcoat, pockets & tailoring and buttons (for real this time) (OH i could use some of the buttons i rejected for the black coat) i plan to add boning to it either way, but i also this a corset style waistcoat could be real cool! not like the kind of things that come up when you look up corset waistcoat, but like, a lacing back and more structured pattern cutting? this one would require some development to see through but.... fun!!! i also have some scrap fabric (brown) from a skirt ive been wanting to turn into a waistcoat- it wouldnt work for this specific project but depending on which way you spin it, it could be a practice run at this project (already having coat 'wearable mockup' flashbacks) or it could be a downside, having two similar garments in my wardrobe
part of me feels like making a pinafore is kind of a cop out- its a far simpler project, and i have a preeetty similar project in the pipelines (though in a completely different aesthetic- heres the inspo for that one), and a lot of my other ideas are similar to a lolita jsk. but also i want jsk. i want to make some for myself some day sooo... i think id would probably get more wear out of a pinafore- but thats just in my head (i wouldnt have to match blacks). i probably wouldnt be learning much new with this one, but it would be a much quicker project! less likely to get stuck in the middle of it because i run out of motivation. i feel like i havent said much pro pinafore but wearability is Super important to me! i have a terrible habit of picking projects that are fun and interesting and then are not actually something i really wear. sometimes an easy project is really good- i like to try and learn things with every project but sometimes i back myself into a corner with things i dont know.
decisions!!!!! i cant make them :(
as i mentioned earlier, this isnt in the immediate pipeline- i still want to finish all my current projects first, i dont think i have any fabrics that'd work for these and im trying to not buying anything right now, and really i shouuuuld make things ive already planned + bought things for. but i think itd fill in some areas of my wardrobe so i might more it before some other things....
below the cut is some very initial inspo, i ripped it all from pinterest (thats basically how i start any sewing project plan fhdbdn)
if youre interested on the brain tangent it was: (start a little unclear but i was thinking about izzy) > izzys sleeves. me too i love a shirt with puffy sleeves > i could make IZZYS shirt (this one is still on the cards btw) > thinking about my wardrobe in general i guess > i own a lot of white puffy shirts but i dont wear them, i tend to wear black things > what might make me wear them short of dyeing them? i love these shirts but theyre too. white for me. maybe something i can wear over them > waistcoat.... i want a waistcoat.... ( i think its hilarious this tangent that started with izzy + ended with waistcoat never went near izzy's waistcoat )
#i tried to format this so it was a bit easier to read the wall of text uhhh idk if it worked#welcome to another edition of girl (gn) shut the fuck up#project planning#sewing

Hi sweetheart, i hope you are doing great! i think you are a beautiful person and an amazing writer, i’ve written lots of things already but i would like to hear some advice from you about writing so i can improve my skills, i really love writing 🫶🏻😩🥹🥰💌✨
lots of love from Argentina
oh gosh im 🤧🤧 thank you, thats so lovely of you to say!
First of all I keep a writing advice tag for any posts I come across with useful writing tips. Some of them are really general, some of them are about writing specific things (like kissing or children), so probably not everything in there will be useful but hopefully some of it is.
As for my own advice.... none of it is going to be groundbreaking stuff. I've never studied writing, I don't think too hard about how I write, and at the end of the day I just write silly fics about silly boys to keep myself entertained. But I'll put a few things under the cut. These are all more general sort of tips so if there are any specific parts of writing you want me to talk about let me know and I'll see what I can give you!
Number 1 is to just have fun with it. Don't get hung up worrying about if a concept is cringe or if its something no one else will like or if it sounds too much like something else you wrote. If it's an idea that interests you, then you're going to find it easier and probably more fun to write. And if you already love writing then you don't want writing to turn into a chore or something you don't enjoy.
Number 2 is to read real books. Reading fanfic is great and fun but it's very useful to read some books that have been professionally edited and published too. There is a craft to writing things that sound good and one of the fastest ways to learn what sounds good is to read books. You don't have to study them or analyse them, your brain will just pick up on patterns, on how sentences fit together, on what sounds good and what doesn't.
One of my fave examples of this is the way we describe things, at least in the English language. There is an unwritten formula for making a description sound good. opinion, size, age, shape, colour, origin, material, purpose. It's why saying "the silly little pink French book" sounds good but "the pink silly French little book" sounds very strange. No one is taught this formula, no one does it consciously. It's just that one sounds better than the other. And it's the sort of thing you subconsciously pick up from reading.
Number 3 is don't be afraid to do some research. No one knows everything. Sometimes you'll want to write about something that isn't super familiar to you. Whether that be because you're writing is set in a different country to where you are, or you're writing a smut scene with a kink/position you've never done in real life, or you're writing a character with a kid when you don't have kids. Research it! Go on google maps and find the place you want to write about so you can see how the streets look. Find a cosmo article or a youtube video that talks about the kink. Find a site that includes those little drawings of sexual positions (or heck, find some porn if thats more helpful) so you can see how it looks. Find a blog post from a parent and see how they talk about their kid. Listen or watch interviews if you're writing RPF to see how your person talks and what their mannerisms are. Not everything has so be 100% accurate and you're absolutely allowed to make some stuff up but if there's anything you feel unsure about, see if some research helps you.
Number 4 is to read everything you write out loud, but especially dialogue. Sometimes things can sound good while you're writing it but then when you read it back you realise it sounds clunky or it doesn't flow properly. Plus it helps you pick up on mistakes you might otherwise miss (like incorrect spelling or if you meant to delete a sentance but didn't). And I say especially for dialogue because when people talk they'll abbreviate words, they include slang, they use contractions. By reading things out loud to yourself you can hear where inflections are, you can hear if something sounds too formal, or wrong for the emotion you're trying to convey. When I write I make sure that I read it out loud to myself when I'm editing. You don't have to read it to someone else and you can whisper it under your breath so no one else will hear, but it is one of the best things you can do while editing or even if you get stuck while writing a conversation. Sometimes just hearing it out loud will help you identify why its not working.
Those are all the things I can think of off the top of my head but like i said if theres any areas of writing that I haven't mentioned that you'd like my take on let me know!
