Nuzlocke - Ultra Moon (Part 4)

Chapter 6 - Rules of Nature

After the Fire Trial, I was more than eager to face the Grass Trial: I had a team with good advantages and resistances, so I wasn’t too worry about it... Not like I let my guard down given the past. In the meantime I added Soma to the team, using immediately my newly acquired Water Stone to turn him into a Vaporeon, so I grinded him a bit in the Lush Jungle, without the fear of Pursuit.

I had finally cleared all the Trials of the Island, all I needed to do was to face the Kahuna, Rock specialist... Which wasn’t good at all. Oliver, Dammek, Jiro and especially Douglas weren’t very fond of it. I had to rely on Raiden and Soma.

But before that I crossed the Diglett Cave and, once outside, I had to solve a difficult case... Five Dittos impersonating humans!

Once I cleared the streets, I marched to the Ruins, arena for my Grand Trial. But before that I had to save some Aether Foundation guys from Team Skulls. Unfortunately, this time they were lead by their Lieutenant, Plumeria. I found myself in a rather tight spot with Jiro versus a rather powerful Salandit: she took a Fire Shot, that she tanked, but she could not stay on the field. I thought she would not repeat Fire Shot on a Dragon Type, probably relying on Poison or physical attacks, so I throw in Raiden. Bad call. Despite my guesses, she insisted on Fire Shot and killed Raiden. That was a huge loss for the team, both as a mate and as an asset: no more Steel tank, no more Intimidation, no more Physical Attacker.

Soma had to seal the deal with Plumeria, but now I had to face Olivia with Soma as the only option without weaknesses... Oliver could probably hold his ground, but the others were in a tight spot.

As Anorith entered the battlefield, I took few turns setting up the defenses: Acid Armor twice and Aqua Ring. Anorith went down easily, but Lileep was kind a pain in the neck: Giga Drain wasn’t fatal, but it undid most of my damage, so the battle dragged on quite a bit, until I landed Confusion with Water Pulse. With Lycanroc I was afraid of Crits, but one strike was enough to take him down.

Island cleared, but with four casualties.

Chapter 7 - I'm the best there is at what I do: screwing up my life

[[Narration wise I’ll skip Aether Paradise, it was rather pointless]]

I sailed to Ula’ula Island and I was off to a rough start: my good pal Hau challenged me... Something was different about him. He was even more determined than before, but also a little... vicious? Maybe it was just my impression, but in any case it was a very tough battle: victory without casualties was achieved with great suffering and effort.

I went to the Gardens to meet Kahui, but I left my guard down: thinking Douglas could outspeed a Raichu and U-Turn he got hit by a Thunderbolt. No need for crits, it was a 1HKO. That was my fucking screw up. But more were to come.

I did what I needed to do in Malie City and left for Route 10. And then...

I was devasted. I did thought of the possibility of an Ice Move, but that was supposed to be rare... My grief and the grief of my team was palpable and that heavily influenced my performances, leading to a slaughter of the rookies that were supposed to fill the voids.

Looking at them back, most of them were something I could not foresee: Pursuit on Raine the Natu from a Crabrawler, Fearow using Mirror Move to mimic Brick Break and oneshot Mako the Komala, Ribrienne the Raticate going down from a Crit from Absol.

Still that was ton of blood on my hand, a heavily unbalanced team and more challenges to come.

What was I supposed to do???

The Grand Gala

Chapter 4 of “The Royal Engagement” Previous Chapter

“Good night, Princess. I’ll be looking forward for a dance with you tomorrow evening.” He said with a grin.

She scoffed before she ran her hand to the lengths of her hair, flipping it to the side. “As if, Yukihira.”

Contrary to what was expected—or at least what he expected—Prince Soma spent more time than usual in selecting his outfit for the night.

He have been standing in front of his closet for the past fifteen minutes, trying to figure out an appropriate attire for the upcoming party.He grabbed two coats of the same color, holding it up in front of him and trying to figure out what was different from the other.

He was never one of those who stressed over their clothes. His casual outfits were usually the first thing that he can grab from his closet. In fact, in these kinds of occasions he would usually let his mother or his maids choose his formal attire. And truthfully, he didn’t even know the distinction between those formal attires that he wore on different occasions because more often than not, it felt like he was just wearing the same blue garb over and over again. Their seamstress once told him that it was all on the details, but honestly, how could he tell? It’s not like everyone would inspect every little detail of his outfit much less something as trivial as an embroidery.

So while he didn’t usually care about what he wore, this time it was different. This time he wasn’t the one being celebrated. He wasn’t the center of the celebration. He just couldn’t get away by wearing the same-styled outfit that has their kingdom’s color. This time, he was on an unfamiliar territory and he needed to make a great first impression.Everyone in attendance would know one another—or at least must have known of each other if they were all allied to Totsuki. He would be the stranger among the crowd and just like the King had suggested the previous night, he must outdo them all—not just for himself (well, partly) but also for the pride of the kingdom where he came from.

“Why don’t we tailor you a new one? Totsuki have the best seamstresses—well, our servants are always the best among the best—but anyways, seriously, it would be done in no time.”

This was what Princess Alice had said the previous night but Soma doubted that they could finish tailoring up a new coat for him in time for tonight’s ball. Instead, he’ll call a servant and have them alter one of his formal outfit.

He carefully searched his wardrobe for something that could easily be altered. He wouldn’t want to trouble the seamstress with this added chore and he figured that they couldn’t do much with the little time that they had before the ball. In the end, he chose black pants paired with cream colored suit with dark blue lapels.

Carrying his clothes, Prince Soma went outside of his room with the intention of following (partly) Princess Alice’s advice. His feet brought him downstairs where he had to dodge several servants carrying flowers and garlands from one place to the other. He stopped at the foot of the stairs and observed the chaos that was ensuing.

“Now this is as bad as a stampede,” he muttered to himself. He was probably exaggerating but that was how it looked like at the moment. And to think that he was not even at the ballroom. He couldn’t stop but whistle in amazement as his eyes roamed the floor.

Windows were being opened, curtains were being replaced, every nook was being dusted and not a single corner was left unattended. There were servants polishing the doorknob, the portrait frames and the handrails. Some were carrying a tower of salad plates and others were pushing tables towards the ballroom. Others were pulling clothes rack full of gowns and another one filled with tail coats of different colors. Everyone seemed to have their hands full and Soma was starting to doubt if there was even a seamstress available to patch up his garb.

He passed over the servants carrying the newly washed red carpet and they gladly pointed him towards the direction of the Tailoring Chamber.

When he arrived, he debated on whether or not he should knock. He couldn’t risk bumping into an unassuming maid-servant inside so he rapped his knuckles at the door three times and waited a moment before going inside.

He was expecting the same kind of chaos like what was happening outside but he was a little disappointed to see that it was the complete opposite. The room was busy yet quiet and for a moment Soma started to question if he was still in the same building. The only thing that can be heard was the hum of the sewing machine and the quiet murmurs of the tailors inside the room.

A servant girl was approaching carrying rolls of fabric and Soma almost felt guilty at stopping her path and getting her attention.

“Oh, Prince Soma!” the girl exclaimed, surprise evident on her face at seeing the prince inside the room. “Good morning, Your Highness. How may I help you?” She asked once she got over her initial shock.

“I was hoping that you can do something about this,” Soma said, lifting the pair that he had brought with him.

The servant girl dumped the fabrics at a nearby table and took the garments from the prince’s hand.

“On what occasion do you need this for?” the girl asked as she extended her arms and examined the suit.

Soma lifted a hand and scratched the back of his neck. “I’m wearing it tonight. I was hoping that one of you could alter it or something, I don’t know. Put a bead maybe?”

The girl put down the suit and gave him a confused look, her eyebrows scrunched together. “I don’t understand. You didn’t like the outfit that we’ve prepared for you?”

Now it was Soma’s turn to be confused.

“What outfit?” he asked because as far as he knew, no one has given him any instruction on what to wear. If they did then it would’ve saved him the time he spent trying to find the difference between a blue coat and another blue coat.

“We made you an outfit for the Grand Gala.” She said as she re-collected the rolls of fabrics from the table. She started distributing them around the room and Soma was left with no other choice but to follow at her heels.

“It was mostly done but we still need your measurements for the necessary adjustments. What we’ve used were only rough estimations.” When Soma didn’t reply, the girl turned. “You didn’t know?”

“Nope.This is the first time that I am hearing about this.” Soma replied with a shrug.

“Our deepest apologies, Your Highness.” She hastily said as she bowed down her head.

“No, no. It’s okay. At least I got to wear something new.” He reassured with a chuckle. “Now where is it so I could try it on?”

After leaving the Tailoring Chamber, Soma was at a loss for what to do. He couldn’t just intrude in the kitchen like usual. The halls were crowded. He couldn’t chat with one of the guards since the security was being tightened.

He heaved a sigh. It seemed like a start of a boring day for the prince. He pocketed his hands and started walking, proceeding to wherever his feet may take him.He didn’t notice that he was almost outside the castle until he heard the gallops of horses of the guards on patrol.

Maybe I could go around town. He thought and his mouth curved upward. He turned around and fastened his pace now that he has a destination in mind. He figured that he can avoid all that bizarre activities going on inside if he went around the castle so that’s what he did. He was turning at the last corner towards the stables when he ran over Satoshi Isshiki who seemed to have just came back from his errands.

“Prince Soma. What a great timing.” The butler said as he steadied the prince. Before Soma can reply, Satoshi thrust a roll of parchment towards the prince’s hand.

“What is this?” Soma asked.

Satoshi only smiled, his eyes almost disappearing between his eyelids. “Your competitions.” He said before patting Soma’s back and leaving the prince standing.

Soma stared at the parchment for a moment before he decided to pull the ribbon holding it all together. He unfolded the paper and he couldn’t help but shake his head in amusement as he scanned its contents.

And the list goes on. He didn’t fail to notice that only the list of the princes invited were given to him.

“That Isshiki,” he muttered as he once again rerouted towards the palace. “He never failed to give me something to do.”

The music started just as the carriages arrived one after the other. Prince and princesses with their escorts poured into the castle and it wasn’t long before the ballroom was packed with royals.

Soma quietly sipped his wine as he observed his surroundings. He just came back at the banquet table after socializing with the others.

The moment he stepped downstairs after beings announced by the herald, he was circled by a couple of curious royals. He was pulled from one conversation to another, being bombarded by questions left and right. He used this as a chance to introduce himself, his kingdom and vice versa. He made sure that he left an impression that he wasn’t just some nobody prince latching to a strong ally for his personal gain.

And he made an impression alright.

The princesses he have met have shown him interests, gladly engaging him in small talks that mostly took his time. The princes on the other hand gave him wary looks and suspicious glance, gauging if he was a threat or someone to be trusted. He tried to give them a smile—every time—which he hoped was more innocent than mischievous.

But on every conversation, he was always asked with the same question: on whether or not he was here to compete for the Totsuki’s princess’ hand. With this also came the realization that most of the attendees were either suitors, or the one looking for suitors. He would always answer without giving anything away, sometimes with a shrug and oftentimes a challenging smirk thrown over the other princes’ way—especially toward those he didn’t like.

Huh. Those arrogant bunch.

“Enjoying the party?” a voice asked and he turned to see Princess Alice dragging his previous dance partner behind.

“Very,” he replied raising his wine glass. “Though I’m currently in hiding.”

“Nonsense. Come on, have a dance with me.” Before he can refuse, Alice took his wine glass and passed it towards his partner. “Oh, and by the way. Prince Soma, this is Prince Ryo. Ryo, Prince Soma. Now, I expect you two to get along okay?” She said, hastily introducing the two princes and then dragging Soma to the dance floor.

“Is it really okay leaving him like that?” he asked once they were at the center.

“Oh, he’d be alright. Now tell me, have you asked her to dance yet?” She asked and they both know who she was talking about.

“If you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been busy.” Soma replied, looking apologetic.

“So I’m your first dance?”

“Apparently.”

The both of them looked over the princess in question. She was engaged in a conversation with Prince Shoji, the second in line for the Tuven kingdom. Though he could tell that it was hardly a conversation at all. Princess Erina was facing the dance floor, a wine glass in hand, while the other prince was at her side trying to draw her attention. But other than a hum or a short reply, the blonde princess kept her eyes forward. Soma saw how Prince Shoji’s shoulder sag before he straightened and bowed to the princess, bidding his goodbye. Princess Erina bowed in return and when she returned her gaze to the dance floor, Soma caught her eye. He raised an eyebrow at the princess and in return, she rolled her eyes and strolled towards the banquet.

Soma gave a chuckle. “That was the sixth one, I think.” He said.

“What do you mean?” Alice asked before Soma twirled her in place and catching her once again.

“It was the sixth prince that she rejected.” He explained. He turned to Alice and gave her a smirk. “Your cousin is such a heartbreaker.”

“Someone is paying attention.” Alice singsonged.

To this, Soma gave a laugh. “Oh, please.” He said, neither denying nor agreeing to Alice.

They finished one song before Princess Alice decided that she needed rest. Prince Ryo was standing to the same place where they left him, looking bored and uninterested with his surroundings. His all-black get up added to his vibe. Before they reached him, the white haired princess nudged Soma’s side and then pointed her cousin with a small frown adorning her face. Soma escorted her to Ryo’s side, passing her hand to the other prince, before turning towards the direction Alice was pointing.

The first thing that caught his attention when he looked over was the black aura that seemed to be emanating from the blonde princess. Whatever her companion was saying—well, it was obvious that she didn’t like it. Her back was stiff, her perfectly mastered neutral expression was cracking and her mouth was starting to curve down.

“Prince Eizan Etsuyaof Destopia.” He muttered, referring to the prince with rectangular glasses and swept-back hair that was currently the source of Princess Erina’s bad mood. He heard an annoyed huff from his sided and it seemed that this guy managed to annoy not one but two Nakiri princess.

“I hate that guy.” Princess Alice spat bitterly. “Why did Satoshi invited him?”

Soma didn’t reply and instead continued to observe the interaction between the two. Prince Eizan seemed to be oblivious to all the hate and glares he was receiving. That, or he was just persistent. Princess Erina was flat out ignoring him but that didn’t deter the guy. He moved towards Erina’s line of sight and continued talking as if nothing was amiss.

A servant was approaching them carrying a tray of empty wine glass and ice bucket containing red wine. Princess Erina was about to place her own glass on the tray when Prince Eizan suddenly took the wine glass from her hold and put it in the tray himself.

Princess Erina huffed and when she was about to turn away from the prince, Eizan grabbed her hand and slowly brought it to his lips.

Soma saw how Erina’s eyes turned into slits and he felt how his own eyes twitched. With purposeful strides, he marched towards their direction with his hands on his pockets. Neither one saw him coming which works in his favor when he snatched Erina’s hand from Eizan’s grasp.

“May I cut in?” He asked nonchalantly as he stepped between the two.“I believe the princess has promised me a dance.” He added giving Eizan a smile as if he didn’t just intrude on their conversation.

“I certainly—” Erina started but stopped when Soma looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She looked at him and then at the other prince—probably weighing her options. She narrowed her eyes as she returned her gaze to the red-head and Soma smirked knowing that he won.

“I certainly did.” She said slowly then turned to the four-eyed prince. “If you’ll excuse us, Prince Eizan.” She said curtly.

“It’s okay. It couldn’t be helped.” Prince four-eyes replied all the while giving Soma a look that says it was definitely not okay.He wasn’t put off with the way Eizan was eying him murderously behind his spectacles. The other prince was seething and Soma treated it as a little victory.

“Don’t I at least get a thank you?” Soma teased once they were positioned on the dance floor waiting for the current music to fade and for another melody to begin.

“Please. I didn’t need your help.” Erina replied as she let Soma clasp her right hand and let her other hand rest on his shoulder.

“It didn’t look that way to me.”

“I had it under control.”

“Sure you do. You look like you were going to murder that prince before I interfered.”

“Oh shut up.”

Soma just laughed and Erina pinched his shoulder in return. This made him flinch which also made Erina smirk.

They glided on the dance floor as the music progressed. Soma took the lead in guiding her when, how and which way to turn. Their feet synched with the beat of the music and each step was executed perfectly and gracefully. They danced effortlessly and soon all eyes were trained on them. It was probably because of Princess Erina’s gown. She was dressed in a glittering ball gown in gradient blue, dark blue on the top which gets lighter and lighter on the waist down. It didn’t help that it looks like a starry night sky whenever she spins.

“They can’t get their eyes off of you.” Soma whispered conspiratorially after another twirl. “You do look beautiful tonight.”

“I don’t need you to tell me that.” Erina said as she turned away with a blush faintly visible on her face. “Though I had to admit, you cleaned up well yourself.” She said in a tone that told him he should be thankful to hear those words coming from her. Soma just chuckled.

“Huh. Well this is surprising.” She commented after a while. She wasn’t looking at him so Soma didn’t know what she was talking about. “Who knew you can attract a few admirers?” Erina said with a raised eyebrow as she returned her gaze at him.

Soma looked around and saw a couple of princesses he met earlier waving at him. He smiled in return before looking back at the blonde princess. He wouldn’t really call them admirers but, well…

“Couldn’t blame them. Who could resist these charms?” He was mostly teasing but it didn’t stop him from flashing her a boyish grin, the one that her mother had always said would make any girl swoon.

“Such arrogance.” Erina said as she rolled her eyes.

“I’m a prince. What did you expect?”

What he didn’t expect was a laugh that bubbled out of her mouth. It ended as soon as it came, or rather, as soon as Erina realized what came out of her mouth.

“Did you just laugh?” Soma asked in disbelief.

Erina stared at him in amusement. “I believe I just cried.”

“Very funny. But I still made you laugh though.” Soma stated triumphantly.

“Don’t get used to it.”

He wasn’t. But it sure felt good hearing that sound. He should make her laugh more often. He mentally added it to the list of things he wanted her to do more often.

It went better than he expected, if he do say so himself. The number of songs that they danced to speaks volume. They danced through four songs, though the fact that they spoke nothing but the negative aspects of her suitors wasn’t exactly productive.

It was mostly Erina complaining, or rather, stating her critical judgment on why they were not suited for her. How Prince Zen was such a wimp he would be useless if ever war broke out. How Prince Lout was overly confident and self-centered she wouldn’t expect him to prioritize his subjects’ need before his own. Of course Soma wasn’t spared.

“Honestly, I don’t know how this engagement can be beneficial to both of us.” She said frankly. “I don’t know anything about you and your kingdom.”

“And whose fault is that?” He teased and Erina blushed.

“That’s… Ugh. That’s because you can be so annoying sometimes.”

He just laughed and somehow it felt like a truce between them has been reached.

He almost made her laugh again when he commented on how Prince Eizan looked like a snake when he was guiding her to the dance floor earlier. And then it started the litany of things that she found annoying about the four-eyed prince, with Soma pitching in from time to time. It was probably rude and disrespectful—making fun of a prince from an allied kingdom—but at that time, all Soma cared about was the fact that the Nakiri heiress was finally having fun.

YAY we finished (the show portion of) reboot ::-D (dumping some thoughts below, spoilers)

the ending was fun i thought the musical number was delightfully silly ::-] the psych-out ending interrupted by mike was interesting as well

i think it is funny the way they had 2 drop everything with daemon to get a shorter ending. well. okay it's not funny but i already know there's more to see with the movies so at least they got to pick it up again. but from an in-universe standpoint the characters really had 2 b like "well that's none of my business!" and ignore that

i was hoping that the other humanoid sprites that were sometimes seen as background characters at the beginning of the series could b featured more but i think they dropped them. sad. i also noticed them using the 1 binomes as background characters more and more instead of the 0 'nomes o__o i think cuz they were more expressive as the series went on...

Relationships Part 2: Real!Ciel

Real!Ciel

Now this is a hard one, and one that we have to think a lot about in only Theory since there’s not too much to go on. However there are clues. So best way to start is roughly when we first see him in Baron Kelvin’s intro to the Twin, Vincent and Ciel.

In this moment we see Our!Ciel nervously hanging out behind Vincent, while the Twin willingly goes up and says hello. Vincent notes that Ciel is shy around strangers (and this does keep true to him even know to a point he’s wary around people he doesn’t know), while the Twin is very much happy to get to know someone.

When he says hello he gives this bright childlike smile to the Baron who becomes infatuated with Vincent and the family.

We also see him rush to Klaus and happily get picked up in the air by the man. Even the chapter cover shows him, playing with flower crowns and, probably, handing them over to Lizzy.

It’s interesting of note that Vincent this whole time is being very protective of Our!Ciel, holding his hand, while his brother is let to run to Klaus. This I think might be important to his personality and probably why he is the way he is. But again this is all speculation.

The next time we get something strong is in Lizzy’s memories. Here the Twin is seen running around the garden with her, and clearly having fun.

This is, mind you, when he’s much younger and hasn’t quiet grown in his temperament yet. However we do see something important come from this.

In the moment when Aunt Frances is fighting with the Twin for practice we get one of the lines, that I think, shaped Lizzy’s character until Our!Ciel wiped that fear from her allowing her to be more herself then before.

“That was Scary. Aunt Frances is pretty but such a strong wife scares me. I’m glad that you’re the one that’s going to be my wife Lizzy.”

Automatically we can tell a huge thing about this kid. He doesn’t like ladies that are stronger then him, or that order him around. This very line caused Lizzy to shape herself at first into a person that was going to be protected by the Twin.

We also get three other memories from Ciel that do show a bit more about the Twin in a weird way.

During the Halloween event we see Lizzy being pulled away by the Twin to follow after Vincent and Rachel. Then there’s the memories from the lunch with Dee.

We see that there was a plate, two bowls and two glasses, clearly finished. Now there’s a few things going on in that scene that we can look at. As I’ve said before either Our!Ciel ate the food, which I can buy given what Tanaka says, or the Twin had the food with him and then left. Either way it paints an interesting picture.

Our!Ciel is inside a lot due to his asthma, much like Rachel who can’t take long trips and the like. We are told that they were all going to go on a boat ride, but Rachel being sick changed that plan. What we don’t see is the Twin, at all. It’s strictly Ciel that is running around in that chapter. So where is he? Well there are two likely answers and both tell us something about the Twin. Either:

A) He’s outside playing with the dog Sebastian and Lizzy. Which means that he’s not at all focused on the wellbeing of his mother, unlike Ciel who is willing to help out Vincent and Dee make the food for Rachel. (And this one to me seems the less likely of these two scenarios since we’ve seen that he’s usually outside with both his parents with him as he’s only 7 at the time)

B) He left with the Midfords on the boat trip and chose his own pleasure over that of his family. Something that Undertaker notes about Ciel that is really different than the other members of the family. Undertaker’s implication is that Our!Ciel is far more altruistic then his twin, which means that if he did chose to go with Lizzy and her family, it’s because he’s choosing himself over others.

The reason I bring up the lunch is that he did eat food with Ciel, which brings me to the last scene that bugs me, it’s from the same comic. When Ciel mentions not needing any other brother.

That shot some red flags up for me rather quickly because of Our!Ciel’s look and also the way he said it, “Fake brothers” as if to indicate that friends are not really something he should have. That he should rely only on his brother at all times, and I have to wonder why that is.

We also see how he treats Ciel in his own mind, and that’s just his memories of the boy, not the real him.

Then we see what he was willing to do to Soma (not counting Agni as that was Polaris or someone else acting as an attack dog) and how he treats Ciel when he comes to the house,

acting like a sarcastic selfish brat. (I’m not counting Violet here because I don’t know if the kid was awake at the time in regard to the bleeding, and if that was, or was not, his arm in the chair. Nor can I count Lizzy just yet as, again, I don’t know if he’s the master mind to any of this or not.)

Now here’s where the theory has to come in about the Twin and his parents in regard to how he sees them and his own personality because of it.

As I said above Vincent is holding Our!Ciel’s hand, and playing around with him a lot. We see with Our!Ciel that his parents were very much trying to be positive, teaching him things that can help him in life and keeping his spirits up. Vincent, even when introducing Ciel to the Baron was very much standing between him and his son, and keeping him close. On the other hand the Twin willingly ran to Klaus, happy to see him at least, after giving that bright eyed look to the Baron. We later see him dealing with Aunt Frances and that he’s not training well, his foot work is weak, and he highly dislikes the idea of bossy women (something Angela was pushing onto Lizzy early on in her memories of the past) and seemed to be pleased with a Lizzy that wasn’t like her mother.

As the healthier of the two twins it’s apparent that the Twin was chosen to take on the role of heir, and probably got the ring as a gift from Vincent upon his 10th birthday. This actually follows the idea of the handing off of power or at least indicating a sort of tradition that seems to be a bit in the Victorian asthenic. The idea of a noble training their child at the starting age of ten was common as in that time people didn’t live as long and “childhood” was over with. The Twin would have had to really double his training as to being part of the Watchdog group, and probably would have eventually taken over Vincent’s job, leaving Our!Ciel to probably run the business end of things as he’s doing now.

We can therefore assume that the Twin was not only being trained by Frances in swordsmanship, but also in riding, shooting, dancing and being schooled in not only the ways of being a gentleman (which I think Ciel was too, though to a different degree then the Twin due to health) and then by Vincent and Frances in how to be a Watchdog. If, and I’m betting I’m right on this, if the Twin was being trained that meant that he wasn’t shown as great of fondness as Our!Ciel was by Vincent.

What do I mean? Well given the job that Vincent was going to have the boy do, he was going to have to be far harsher on his son, possibly at times distancing himself from him so that the boy would understand that this was a job and not something to just play with. Given how we’ve seen Vincent act and Dee’s comment on love, it would not be surprising if in some ways the Twin may have resented his father and possibly his brother.

We know that Rachel clearly worried about Our!Ciel, along with Angela, and we know given what Undertaker said about how the other members of Ciel’s family acted that the Twin probably wasn’t all that nice under the happy smile that he gave. I get the feeling that he was pushed a lot by Vincent to learn what he could to take over some day, and possibly felt that his brother got more attention than he did. But we’ll get to that in a moment.

I do think he probably cared about his family, though to what extent I don’t know. Clearly we can see them having fun outside, and if Lizzy’s memories are true then his parents loved him just as much as they loved Our!Ciel. Though I get the suspicion that he was more Vincent then Rachel in personality. (Given what I”ve recently learned about Chapter 99.5, I probably will have to rethink part of this theory, but I have a feeling that there is probably more resentment regarding his role with Vincent.)

Now as for his relations with Our!ciel, this is a doozy. Again, assuming that he was treated slightly different due to his future as the Watchdog as well as being healthy, I have a feeling that he wasn’t all that nice to his brother out of jealousy.

Think about it. We know that he’s a bit selfish based on his not being around during the small story with Dee, and we know that he was pulling Lizzy away from Ciel in the memory he had on Halloween. So what sort of relationship did these two brothers have? I’m going to proposes that it was a bit of a domination sort of relationship, and possibly a bit obsessive in a not to good way.

One could say that he probably had less then great feelings for Ciel due in part to the fact that the family probably worried about him a lot. Our!Ciel has a room full of toys and we know that the majority was probably his as he can’t go outside. So starting there, you probably have the Twin getting jealous that his brother gets a lot of attention from his family in regard to material items. The Twin more than likely has to watch as Lizzy goes and plays with Our!Ciel while he has to have lessons, then there’s the fact that Our!Ciel seems to have strong connections to both parents and it’s clear that they willingly cast aside both for the chance to go out with the other side of the family.

(MIght be wrong on this I’ll have to re think part of this about him casting aside his family but a part of me has to wonder if that’s still stands as true)

We know that during the night of the kidnapping we saw that Our!Ciel was clinging to the Twin’s hand. He felt better with him there. And yet when he returns he marginalizes him immediately. Not to mention that when he’s just Our!Ciel’s memories he’s purposely being nasty to him to make him feel more guilt.

Why would Ciel see his Twin as such if he didn’t act like this when they were growing up? Fact is, he wouldn’t. Ciel, or rather Our!Ciel, is seeing his Twin as he was back then.

The Twin was a jerk to him, leading to Ciel to depend on him. The line about not needing any fake brothers.

So why do that? Well to control the situation. The Twin has been taught to control things as the Watchdog, and he pushes that into his own family. We can see by Ciel’s guilt that he loves his Twin very much, but it’s clear that he’s reeling at his death, and yet he’s willing to move forward as him, not because he wants to be the Twin for selfish reasons, but for the sake of others (Lizzy particularly since she’s engaged to him and to Ciel it makes perfect sense to make her happy by being the one person he thinks she would want to see alive of the two of them).

That very thought makes me feel that the Twin probably has, over time, convinced Ciel that he’s less worthy due to his own jealousy of his brother. And this, I fear, will play out like a chess match between the two kings.

We see on the chess board for the Twin’s side we have A Queen (Lizzy), A rook (possibly Lord Polaris as he’s the butler here), a bishop (Blavat, since he’s the priest like figure), two pawns (Soma possibly, and someone else –Snake? Edward? Violet?), and a Knight (which I think is the demon). On the oppsite side you have Our!Ciel with only three pawns (Bardroy, Finny, May rin), a rook (Tanaka) and a Knight (Sebastian).

This tells me that this is going to be a chess game, that we’re going to see the characters be moved like pieces and that there is more to this between the brothers then simply a game of chess. The Twin wants to control Our!Ciel as, to him, he probably feels that Our!Ciel got better in life then he did.

Both parents seemed to dote on Our!Ciel far more than the Twin. Every time we see him he seems to be rushing off, trying to get someone’s attention in some way or another. So that could indicate that he’s somewhat starving for their attention as Our!Ciel is ill and taking up a lot of their nurturing in that aspect. Then there’s Ciel himself and how the Twin seems to have him manipulated into thinking that friends or having anyone on his side are fakes. That he’s the only one that can care for him, thus controlling him and keeping him probably from wanting to rise above the Twin due to his honestly more compassionate personality. We can assume that the Twin tells Ciel all about the stuff that he’s learning, which is probably how Ciel knows a lot about things. Given the whole situation with the nasty comments, the insisting on Ciel remaining in his mind forever and the leaving the family to do his own things, makes me think that he feels like he’s allowed to control things.

I get the feeling we may be seeing a Maurice Colt like characters coming out of this.

And I’m suspecting that the Jealousy also comes to the fact that he’s probably jealous of Lizzy and Our!Ciel’s relationship as well.

Lizzy gives us a very big clue into their relationship. She’s trying to be someone she’s not for him. We see early on that she’s been tasked with protecting him and the Twin comes off as someone who acts like he needs it. There is probably a reason why Lizzy was set out to be his protector, and, as we see with Aunt Frances’s foot work he’s not that good with the sword. But then we glimpse something else. He doesn’t want his wife to be strong, and wants to be the one in charge of things.

The Twin’s actions with Lizzy right now are shrouded in mystery but given what we see in the mansion and what we know about in regard to her own actions we can have some guesses as to what he’s told her, which we’ll get to in a moment.

Their past relationship seems a bit odd. Lizzy dote’s on him, wanting to be the right girl for him as she is scared about her skills as s fighter, and there had to be a reason that Vincent and Frances decided to allow their children to be married. I’m suspecting it was because of the fact that the Real!Ciel really had limited skills in protecting himself, and probably needed her to be his Sebastian. My guess is that Undertaker took on Sebastian’s role for Vincent and probably Tanaka was it for Claudia.

We see that Lizzy plays with the Twin outside, him chasing after her with the dog and that she clearly enjoys her time with him. But what of him to her. Well that’s a bit of an issue I think.

Given his line to her I don’t think that he really thought much of Lizzy outside of being someone that he could have fun with. He comments that he likes her because she’s not strong like her mother. That she’s cute, and that completely changed how she tried to grow herself into adulthood.

The weird thing is that, I get the feeling that for all of his mother’s physical weakness, she was strong and cunning in the mind. Vincent’s line about Rachel having fun leads me to believe that for the Twin he didn’t want someone who was cunning like his mother, or strong like his aunt. He wanted a flighty girl that he could come back to have fun with and not have to think a lot about.

Again I’m getting a vibe of maurice and maybe even a Viscount Druitt vibe off this kid.

As for what happened in the Blue Cult, well. We don’t know but we can take some guesses from Lizzy’s behavior and what Paula said. During her time there we know she’s become confused as to who to trust, leading me to believe that the Twin told her a vastly different story about what happened that night. That Ciel may have chosen to send him to die, rather than what we saw Our!Ciel doing. What else could have been said, well clearly he probably reminded her of her duty to protect him, as that’s what she was supposed to do. Yet I don’t think he would have liked seeing her fight all that much, unless it’s against his brother.

We also see that when she sees Real!Ciel (whom I’m certain is in that chair when she walked into the room, as I think that they pull in the people and drain them that way) she’s clearly crying over the fact that she couldn’t help him. We assume that it’s the Twin, but I think it’s because she feels guilty over the fact that she doesn’t know how to help him nor Our!Ciel directly. Save doesn’t mean saving his soul, because she probably thinks that the Twin is alive and not a living doll or whatever he is, but rather not being able to save him from what happed to him.

On the other hand she feels bad for not being able to save Our!Ciel from the guilt that he’s been feeling all this time, as she didn’t realize which of the boys it was all that time and she could have done something differently to help him cope with things. I think that the Twin is actually rather jealous of Lizzy’s relationship with Our!Ciel. Consider the fact that he probably had more training to go through with his father and Aunt then Ciel did, the Twin probably sees Lizzy’s relationship with Our!Ciel something that he doesn’t like.

We know that Ciel and Lizzy would play house, and that she clearly was worried about him as per what we saw with Ciel’s memory of the time he had an asthma attack and was tended to by Angela. But I think that, like Ciel, the Twin is manipulating her in some emotional ways.

We know that there was an Easter egg thing between them, and that Ciel didn’t know about it. Which tells me that the Twin shared secrets and such with her, and I think that Ciel did as well, but they were different as Ciel seems to recall things with Lizzy, such as the whole “Sitting by the window sill by the rosebushes”, and playing house. Yet I think one of the reason the Twin did share with Lizzy was so that he had some control over her more than his brother could.

Now as for what probably could have been, given his attitude, I don’t think he would have made a very good husband for her, and it would have ended in a miserable situation where Lizzy felt she had to play this very sweet woman and the Twin probably would have had mistresses on the side. He strikes me, again as a very possessive sort, pulling Lizzy from Ciel during the Halloween memory, and I get the feeling it’s something that Lizzy for her part, has tried to ignore due to Angela and her commentary.

6:18 PM 3/9/2020 HAIKYU‼ TO THE TOP Episode 1 – Introductions I was reluctant to watch this right now, because this series was a big deal to me, and I just wanted to watch something light, that I didn't have to pay attention to, while i eat... But my watchlists are outdated and I had been meaning to watch this FOR A WHILE NOW. Whenever I watch something intense or important to me, I feel like I have to set aside all this time and focus, and carefully document every reaction I have, so I can look back at my fandom in later years for this precious milestone of nostalgia,... Bu treally, it's just making me postpone a series that I love. I can't keep doing that. Acchan. New side character, huh? I'm so glad to hear Burnout Syndromes again. In Haikyuu. They were great in Dr. Stone. I'll admit, I wasn't looking forward to season 4 when I found out the director changed and they changed the character designs to more closely emulate the manga-ka. Because...I actually preferred the anime character designs from season 1-3..! I have a habit of this. Atsuko Nakajima's anime character designs for Get Backers were better than the manga-ka. I preferred Sengoku Basara's anime character designer, over the original videogames' designs... It's just a thing with me. Please don't kill me. I'm so glad Yachi Hitoka's poster turned out so cool! *o* I like how this series can relax intos ridiculousness like making a big deal out of measuring their heights. lol "I order you to shrink, Tsukishima!" Tanaka...! LOL I missed your sudden outbursts after your sudden coolenss, Noya-san! I love how this once scene at the end of season 3 is being stretched out to have so much weight. ^-^ So many handstands, Noya-san. lol Yup, Tsukishima. Everyone reviewing season 3 kept saying Tsukishima really shined. Also, Ukai said at the end of the match that Tsukishima was the MVP. Evil Kageyama grin! LOL I was going to enjoy the humor in it, but then that somber music kicked in. o_o So they're still having practice matches against other schools in that montage? Oh no...Kageyama can't read all the kanji?? lol Waiat a sec. Shiratorizawa, Aoba Josai, Date-tech...? Oh, it's the first year special camp. Cute! They finally brought the little chibi crows into the anime! ^o^ Good idea to use them for the commerical break bumpers. LOL Tsukishima is suddenly filling in Kageyama's "yelling 'BAKA!' at Hinata" role1 LOL Well, I do want to see all these different schools students interact with Hinata in training camp settings. I like that NOya is praising Hinata's crazy infiltration. ^^; OMG Takeda-sensei angry...! O~O! Bowed right into the desk! LOL Well, I guess if the host school's coach says it's ok, then Hinata is ok to hang around?? "Wakatoshi-kun"? Why "-kun"? Are they rivals? Friends? Well, that got me fired up. Nothing without Kageyama? Don't make me laugh. This is what I was excited about the different school mixing interactions for. I want to see Hinata meet this challenge. Actually, this reminds me of Shokugeki No Soma when Tadokoro Megumi was just relegated to washing dishes during the stagiaire, but even from that position, she could make valuable observations and give invaluable input. I suspect that even if Hinata is technically just the "ball boy", he'll learn an amazing amount. And frankly, if he jumps to retrieve the balls, especially with his running speed, that'll probably hype up the players to want to challenge him. But I've actually wanted to see Hinata work with Oikawa, and see how Oikawa would use Hinata's athleticism. Sounds like an important thesis statement. "Skills and talents arne't meant ot be had. They're meant to be shown." I love how proud Hinata is, even of being ball boy, like he's unfettered by doubts. 7:03 PM 3/9/2020 End of ep. I can relax. Maybe I should re-watch without taking reaction notes? ===================================================================== 7:05 PM 3/9/2020 HAIKYU‼ TO THE TOP Episode 2 – Lost I really dislike all this talk of just praising how tall all the players are. All the one's the dialogue has picked out so far, are the ones with the least skill. There are already impressive players, who just aren't as tall. Are these coaches in the back from the other schools. I like that one of them is saying it's be a waste to ignore Hinata because he's short and not turn him into a wing spiker. I love how Hinata is just staring and absorbing everything. Oh, yeah. Hinata's serves are the thing he needs to work on the most. I like how Hinata hitting the ball against the wall by himself calls back to when he had to practice by himself all during jr. high. I'm pretty sure Hinata is apologizing because he's going to ask Tsukishima to practice with him. That's the type of audacious, crazy thing I'd expect from Hinata. lol Chubby bird! ^o^ Glad it seems like Ukai understand there's something Hinata can learn even from being a ball boy. Is thatt the vice principal? He's afraid of angry-Takeda-sensei too??? LOL!!! I love how instead of getting angry, Hinata is just impressed by everyone. Even when Goshiki clearly tried to insult him by stealing the ball before Hinta. This is strange. Why is Hinata shaken by Ushijima asking why he's even there? I thought Hinata already figured out he could get good practice, even as just the ball boy, and even just by observing? Well, he "fell"? And then Goshiki walks by...~.~;;;;; That's the Hinata focused face! 7:41 PM 3/9/2020 Aw, man! I want to keep watching! Noooooooooo~! I have stuff to doooooooooo! ;o;!! What else is Production I.G. animating this season? Because this ending theme is almost ALL stills, like they had no budget for it. Whereas, most of the ending themes for the other seasons were animated. Maybe they realized how much better the episodes are when they pour the money from the ending theme budget, into the episodes instead? Forgot to note i lvoe the joke about NOya crashing into Tanaka. lol ======================================================== 7:43 PM 3/9/2020 HAIKYU‼ TO THE TOP Episode 3 – Perspective Go get that Growth, Hinata! Evne if you have to scrape on your hands and knees! ...Oh, now I get the first image in the new opening theme. Hey, if I have to rewind to read a subtitle that got interrupted by the commercial break, and it crashes again, I'm going to start to get annoyed that the commercial breaks keep coming in the middle of dialogue. HINATA! ---Oh! He caught it! ^O^ OMG LOL Does Goshiki really not know how to deal with Hinata's compliments?! LOL!!!! Oh, I see...He's starved for compliments at Shiratorizawa... LOL Commercial. So of course I browse Tumblr. I forgot how little I'm on social media, while I'm engrossed in an anime. I need to watch more of my watchlist. I lvoe that this show has gone on long enough for little callbacks to mean a lot. 6-6 Almost didn't recognize Tanaka's body language. He's almost never jsut standing straight. Oh, right! Tokonami is where Daichi's old friend plays now. FINALLY. A solidly rendered close-up. Hinata's face. I know they changed character designs this season and it does seem to be more flexible to accomodate more motion and expressiveness in the animation...But it's just not as cool as these soldily rendered shots, that used to be almost all the fames in seasons 1-3. OMG Is Kageyama keeping up with the All-Japan group?? I thought I saw a spoiler from this part a long time ago, and he was having trouble keeping up? I'd like it if he was keeping up though. I do like how eveyrone's afraid of Hinata. His intensity. ^o^ Oh no... Damn. Distracted by a compliment/comraderie somehow makes getitng hit in the balls worse... "I keep telling you to keep your damn eyes open"? Wait...Is the Shiratorizawa coach starting to *coach* Hinata now??? 8:29 PM 3/9/2020 Damn it. I have stuff to do!! ================================================= 8:31 PM 3/9/2020 HAIKYU‼ TO THE TOP Episode 4 – Take It Easy I feel like this part is where the editor of the manga came in and was like, "We can't go this many chapters without Hinata actually playing". lol Oh, so Sakusa isn't sick. He's just a germaphobe. I like how oblivious Kageyama is to normal human interaction. ^-^ That's relatable to me. I love that Date-tech's freshman is being all genki in the same frame as Hinata. Double genki!!! ^O^ They all want to block Hinata? I think this is what I wanted to see, when Hinata crashed the training camp, but I forgot about when he got into training as ball boy. So Hinata is the best practice you could get vs a spiker because he can read blockers better than anyone else? I'm glad Kageyama is having a good time. He doesn't intimidated; he gets excited. Omg This kid *wants* Kageyama to get intimidated? Ladies and gentlemen, we have our running gag comedy relief. Commercial. I should probably watch In/Specter. I used to always say I like yokai series. ...Do I really? Maybe it was just that some manga I used to read had all these tropes I liked attached to yokai. Anime goes in so many different directions, you can't expect the same. So this Miya guy is finally being the antagonist they've been hinting at. "Goody 2 shoes"? I like we're getting scenes of Hinata and Koganegawa talking. They have similar wavelengths. "The heck are you talking about?! I"m chewing him out!" some random updates and manga commentary

I read more manga than books usually, but then don’t always say much about it because idk, usually I just have a thought or two and then move on. Sometimes I do these posts where I mention a bunch of series in one place in passing. If that sounds interesting, read on.

But first:

I’m fucking obsessed lately with One Piece Treasure Cruise somebody stop me I have problems I already spent $10 on it help

Ok, now onto manga mentions, commentary, etc:

I bought the latest Livingstone volume (4) and was all excited to continue reading that series only to realize unexpectedly the other night that it was the end of the series. MAN. It’s been awhile since I watched Deadman Wonderland but I seem to recall feeling the same way about that as Livingstone, only maybe less dramatically so, and that’s this: the creator is the same for both series, and comes up with really interesting ideas and throws in some interesting characters. But then the story itself feels like it ends before it explores the concept as deeply as it could or should. It’s not that I recall Deadman Wonderland’s ending being terrible, and it’s not that Livingstone necessarily had a bad ending either; it’s just that I feel like it ends right as it’s developing, so some of the impact is lost on me because I feel like so much more story still should have been told.

Finally got caught up (again) on Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler and D.Gray-Man. I’m seriously getting worried about Hoshino’s health for DGM :( I’m so worried something will happen to her that is more permanent even than has happened already, and I’m also worried the series will not be able to end properly as a result. Which is really sad to me because I want Hoshino to be okay, and I want her and her readers to not have any regrets about the series itself. I wish she would get an assistant to draw for her while she dictates the story, if for no other reason than to preserve her health more, but I imagine she is hesitant to do so because she has such a beautiful art style and it has to be incredibly difficult to struggle against health issues when you know once upon a time you easily could do far more than now you struggle to achieve. It’s so sad :( I don’t want her to push her health beyond its limits. Ganbatte, Hoshino! :( As for Kuroshitsuji, I swear to god that series is simultaneously the most ridiculous and sometimes most amazing thing XD I’ve been pretty embarrassed by the whole pop star thing because idk lots of reasons, but that’s happened for me before on other arcs that have happened and it always swings its way back. Anyway regardless I love Ciel and Sebastian and everyone and YES UNDERTAKER YESSSSS. Also, it’s been cracking me up seeing how much Soma seems to be having a ball in the latest arc XD

Just realized I’m a couple chapters behind on Magi, that’s the next thing I need to catch up on. Also I need to check on Love Stage!! because it’s been months since I last looked. Yotsuba&! came out with a new chapter too! But I need to read it still. Same with a few BL manga I’m following whose names I’ve managed to briefly forget so I have to track that down to look for updates ugggh I’m real good at this lol

btw did I mention I watched the Seven Days live action movie awhile ago? Because I did. I liked it! I was worried I wouldn’t but I did. I mean, I fucking love Seven Days so that’s probably no surprise, I just rarely watch live action of manga or anime, especially BL, so that’s why I wasn’t sure how I’d feel. But oh my god they paid so much attention even to little idiosyncrasies and movements! Good job, guys, good job

I still need to read Haikyuu!!, I don’t know why I haven’t yet. It’s my goal to do so at some point, because so far I’ve only seen the anime and read the first 2 volumes, and I want to read everything and be up to date with others!

I started Black Clover and was pretty excited about it but then it started pulling full on bullshit fanservice moves in the 3rd volume or something and it annoyed me so much I stopped reading... I should probably start up again but ugh, so sick of unnecessary fanservice

WAIT have I read the latest Noragami?? ....Shit yes I did I FORGOT ok so that series THAT SERIES goddamnit I love that series...

Same with Natsume Yuujinchou like goddamn, just as soon as you think surely you won’t cry at some new story in it because surely you’re immune by now, the series is like “So anyway here’s this really bittersweet or heartwarming-slash-heartrending story I’ll casually throw out there and Bee-Tee-Dubs, just a reminder that as nice as Natsume is, his life will probably always be a pretty sad and precarious mess because he cares too much about both humans and Ayakashi”

which now that I’m thinking about it is a bit Allen Walker-like.... no wonder I love both Natsume and Allen; they both are stuck in between all these other things but don’t use it as an excuse to hurt or hate others; if anything, they hurt themselves while trying not to hurt others. I just really love characters and people who don’t use misfortune as an excuse for harming others

Oh right, I hope Gangsta comes back sometime in the future. They have some spin off out I think, right? Based on Marco Adriano, called Cursed? I’m debating if I should give it a try.... Actually I don’t remember, maybe I bought the first volume and haven’t read it yet lolz0r Anyway if anyone’s read it, is it as good as Gangsta? The thing is, I don’t really care about Marco, so that’s why I haven’t read it yet. Not that I hate him or anything but I feel pretty meh about reading something solely based on him so I’ve hesitated. I mostly like Gangsta primarily for Worick and secondarily for Nicolas, and then I liked others like Doug, and it’s not like I hate the rest of the characters but they work best for me as the background to Worick and Nicolas’ story. So idk.

Similarly, I gave up on Dogs! Bullets & Carnage around volume 9 mostly because I love one character (Badou all the way, motherfuckers!) and am mostly ambivalent or not in love with the rest. Badou totally carried the series for me in the beginning, when he and Heine had all those great interactions, but now Naoto’s more prominent with Heine and I’m like bleggggh not a fan of Naoto almost at all, and Heine’s okay but I feel like he’s kind of a non-character so he doesn’t really work as the primary MC for me. The pacing of the story is not the best so it makes it harder for me to care about what’s going on. Basically I just want the series to follow Badou around and tell me occasionally about the crazy shit the others are getting up to. Give me a spin off on Badou and I’ll buy that any day! Come on! Anyway so if anyone is still reading that, I’m just curious if I should keep going... I’m a little curious about what the hell is even going on with the plot and background and etc but mostly I just want more Badou :( ...wait a second, I just saw there’s a prequel called just Dogs, that may be more along the lines of the story I want to read. I want just Dogs, man! Did I read it already years ago? Fuck if I can remember...

I also gave up on Tokyo Ghoul:re after it was so incredibly different from Tokyo Ghoul and the pacing and just everything kind of fucked around with what I was hoping to read as a continuation of that series, and in particular with me wanting to see more of Kaneki. I’m months behind at this point and idk man. I will probably read further at some point because I do think it’s an interesting world and I liked a number of characters in Tokyo Ghoul quite a lot, especially Kaneki. But :re has just been... I’m trying not to say mean things lol it’s just that I guess the pacing and style and story and character designs and just everything is basically like a whole different series. Which would be fine, if that was what I wanted. But what I wanted was more Tokyo Ghoul, so I’m disappointed so far. idk. I don’t think I’ve given up completely on it. I just think I have to wait until I’m in the right mood...

That just randomly reminded me I never finished Claymore. That was another series that started out interesting but then idk. The pacing or story or what just dragged a lot after a while, or made it difficult to follow. I should finish it sometime I guess. I think I probably only have a few dozen chapters to read to end it.

I did the same thing with Shingeki no Kyoujin/Attack on Titan... I was pretty obsessed with it when I first started reading it, then the story/style started wavering around the same time I got caught up with Japan and had to wait for new chapters, I read as chapters released for a few months, and then idk. At one point I just got too annoyed/frustrated with the series and stopped reading. I guess that’s another series where maybe I should wait until it’s ended and then read it all at once. I’m curious about some of the plot lines but I really only liked one or two characters pretty well and the rest I was ambivalent about or my feelings on them varied too much, and since I’m so character-driven as a reader/viewer I just can’t stick with series that don’t have strong and consistent plots while also having strong and consistent characters and character development. At least not week by week or month by month, one chapter at a time. It doesn’t seem to work for my attention span.

In anime news, I wish we’d get some sequels of some series like re:Zero or K Project or my god wouldn’t No. 6 be nice?? But these are all light novel based so my hopes are probably for naught. Actually, I take that back. K wasn’t based on LN, it just has novels in addition to the anime. But now I’m realizing, maybe I missed some things. That series is kind of weird with stuff all over the place and individualized outside of the anime itself so I probably missed things. Unsurprisingly, I’m sure, Shiro is my favorite, Kuro secondarily. But I primarily watched for Shiro lolz

Wow ok I just managed to use up all my time on StayFocusd rambling on all this shit so there you go, there’s a bunch of random thoughts about a bunch of random series, and I didn’t even cover everything but I had to stop somewhere I guess.

Probably no one even read this far but that’s fine; sometimes I write this even just to remember later my thoughts on some things. Like I said earlier in the year, I wanted to do Voice as my word for 2017, which means not silencing myself on stuff unnecessarily, so for things like this where I want to write a post talking about a bunch of different stuff just touching on them it’s silly to not do it if it’s something I want to do. If that makes sense.
