After 13 years, I finally scored myself a pair of brown brogues. Long, long after my Sherlock obsession ended, the one thing that never faded was my love for John Watson’s tan brogues. About six years ago I went to the UK ready to spend ridiculous money on a pair of tan brogues, but I was never able to find a shoe shop that had them small enough for me. These are Solovairs, which also had tan ones but (of course) not in my size. The brown ones however, came in a wider range of sizes, and so I figured this was as good as I was going to get. I’m still pretty pleased. Now to break these stiff bastards in.

they're not as cheap as docs can be - think my most recent pair were £179 new? but they last for ages and ages and they have a re-soling service as well. they do boots and shoes, including vegan ones, and socks and bags and belts too

Yeah I remember I finally was gonna get a pair of Doc Martins a couple years ago and when I held them in my hands at the shoe store and went “these feel wayyy cheaper than they are supposed to be” then deepdived to find out the OG company and bought a pair from them instead and I gotta say I love them they’re so sturdy

Hehe hell yea, my solovair boots arrived. They fit too! Which im happy cause i did *not* want to ship em back to england for a half-size up lol. Really glad i got these and not the Oxblood ones.

i kind of need to get new boots because my docs died on me after 12? years of use and I want to get solovairs but I heard rub offs don't last and age weird but I kinda feel like the brown ones are not dressy enough and the black ones are too boring unless I do something funky with them like adding kilties?
