Solas Closet Cosplay 🐺

I've been enjoying playing Veilguard so I'm right back in the Dragon Age feels! After acquiring the elf ears for my Adar cosplay I had the idea that I could try and see what I would look like as Solas 👀 using my wig cap and some photoshop. I edited the first photo but wasn't quite sure how I felt about it 🤣 but after a second attempt with a better facial angle I'm pretty pleased with the final photo.

Also, I haven't done a closet cosplay since my very first days of cosplaying years ago, so it was fun to try this out! I used an Obi Wan Kenobi robe and a fur collar from a coat I had laying around.

Felassan should have been a love interest and companion instead of (or alongside) Solas

Like… imagine a Solas betrayal in Trespasser where he kills or seriously injures his supposed best friend, the man you love. Maybe whether he fully kills Felassan or fails to take the killing blow based on how high or low his approval is with the Inquisitor, and maybe based on a personal quest where you help resolve an argument or something.

And then in the next installment you are fighting to keep the Veil from falling and you learn of Solas’ betrayal from Felassan himself, verbally or from the mouth of someone he knew (Briala, perhaps, to have a cameo)

Something way more compelling about an immortal who has come to see the world as real and is willing to die fighting the man he’s followed for thousands of years because the world as it is now is beautiful and so are it’s people

another thing that i just noticed is that the dwarves have now had done to them by the elves what we’d thought the elves had done to them by humans, at least before inquisition. cut down in their peak and permanently ruined, left to scrabble for the broken pieces of their history

not to say it’s an inherently bad choice because oppression isn’t that straightforward, but it sure was an interesting choice to shift the “they destroyed our way of life and fractured our society and we ARE allowing ourselves to feel angry about it and reclaim our history and maybe use that to rebuild what we once had” narrative from the elves to the dwarves. like if that’s the story you really wanted to tell, you could have also given it to like. bellara

Posting for posterity- that one time I got bored and did a Solas makeup test.

Long ago, there were two clans of gods.

The Creators looked after the People. The Forgotten Ones preyed upon us. And one god who was neither. Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf. He was kin to the Creators, and in the old days, often helped them in their endless war against the Forgotten Ones. We barely even remember all their names, let alone who struck the first blow, who was wrong... Fen'Harel was clever. He could walk among both clans of gods without fear, and both believed he was one of them. He went to each side, and told them the other had forged a terrible weapon, a blade that would end the war. He told the Creators it was forged in the heavens, and the Forgotten Ones, that it was hidden in the abyss. And when the gods went seeking it, he sealed them both in their realms forever.

Now he alone is left in the world.

I tried to replicate the tatoos of my Inquisitor, Kirian Lavellan. It's an attempt to cosplay, I guess.
