Why dose it feel like the Solarballs team changes how a character acts just to push the plot along?

In both of the newest episodes everyone has been acting out of character for them! Like just look at the rocky planets (+Luna)! They were dismissive and down right rude for Earth and for what?? I get there was a lot happening the past few episodes both with the competitions to get Jupiter back and him coming back in general but there was not reason to just shut him down immediately once Earth tried talking to them about Theia and learning more about the past.

His clearly not doing very well at the moment and they don't even seem to care! Not one bit! It makes me wonder if Earth DID try to talk to them about him Earthlings and how much they hurt him only to be dismissed or talked over like in the video, how many times have Earth tired to brooch the topic only to be shut down immediately?

Even Luna wasn't much help! He just deflected when Earth tried asking about Theia and while it did seem like he was trying to distract him, saying that there wasn't a point worrying about, it since both Jupiter and Planet X were gone, he immediately followed it up by saying "It's important day for me" coupled with how he acted after the game was dismantled? Just yelling at Earth without letting him talk?

Don't even get me started with Mercury and the other rock planet! Saying Earth's suicide attempt was a "stunt" like wtf??! Dose that even sound like something Mercury would say? Sure his a bit socially awkward due to being isolated from the rest of the Rockies due to the Sun and Venus but not that much!

I can’t add more than one video apparently but there’s two more that leads right into my point! Or maybe just any seen or earth interacts with other people 

I have so many feelings about this episode and none of them are good!

Ahhh this book is adorable and filled with cute interactions between Luna and Earth if you can get past the bit of angst at the start everything is so beautifully written

[ NEW LIVES AU: CHAPTER ONE; ARGUMENT ]

[ New Lives is a solarballs AU, where something happened in the solar system and now they have to live with it. ]

Ever since the incident happened, it was bad. Not well, things weren't going well, at all. Everybody has to adapt to the new lifestyle. It was hard, but they had to do so.

Things haven't been going well, since the last time Astrodude was here, things have changed a lot. And I mean a lot. It's just... Yeah. Overall things weren't okay, at all. It was like the solar system was in shambles. But, well, they were kind of forced to be in their "actual" form, which was.. Not any different from their normal one, they just had black eyes instead.

How was the system in shambles? Well, things weren't going very well, people weren't on all that good terms. Sure, some were on okay terms, but not necessarily good, but they all had to rely on everyone there to survive, but... Recently, there had been an argument between the planet with liquid water and the smaller rusted red planet.

“Come on, Earth! Why are you like this!?” Mars spoke loudly, speaking to the blue and green planet. “Here's a better question, why are you like this!? You always keep blaming me over nothing!” Earth defended himself. Mars' eyes widen, his eyebrows furrowed. He looked even more shocked and angry than before. “Nothing!? Nothing!? Are you being serious right now, Earth!?” Mars yelled. “Do you even see what's going on right now!?”

Earth's eyebrows were also furrowed, both of them were agitated. Earth rolled his eyes. “What do you think!?” He replies to the question, crossing his arms. “Of course I know what's going on! Everybody does!” He retorted.

The other terrestrials were just watching this entire situation unfold, no one really knew what was happening- not even the moons of the two planets that were arguing.

no one knew why they were arguing, at all. it just happened so suddenly and out of no where, everyone was just doing there thing then suddenly Earth and Mars just started yelling and arguing. Everyone knew they were good friends, but after that happened... Things were sort of going down hill.

Phobos and Deimos were just watching the entire thing happening, they both glanced at eachother for a moment, both confused, then glanced back at the two bigger celestial bodies. Mercury and Venus were also confused, but they didn't say a thing about it; or do anything about it. they were just there as the third and fourth planet from the sun disagreed over something.

After a few hours, things eventually settled down. However, Earth and Mars were holding grudges against eachother. The moon just quietly orbited the grumpy blue planet, not wanting to disturb him or anger him any more than he is; he didn't want to cause an argument. He wasn't going to ask what was up with that whole entire thing either, he thinks it may be better left unknown and unsaid.

No one knew why they argued, they don't think they should've argued at all. The argument was stupid, after all, they were all stuck in the same cage.

Tw: Themes of mental illness. (Also, there's spoilers for the new Solarballs episode and possibly broken English).

I watched the new Solarballs episode and like other people have already mentioned, Uranus is NOT doing well.

He's, in my opinion, mentally unwell in a more discret way than other characters like Neptune, Earth and Jupiter. Characters like them, with their memory and identity problems (Neptune), depressive episodes (Earth) and boderline paranoia (Jupiter) are obvious examples of bad mental health overall, but Uranus is there too with them to be honest. He's insecure asf and clearly has a low self-steem, and the new episode really showcased that.

He has like, no principles at all. He doesn't care that the guy who basically acted as an older brother to everyone is now gone (he doesn't seem conflicted about what Jupiter did, he just... got over it) and he doesn't mind X basically bullying Saturn (even though Saturn became his friend in the searching for Neptune arc). Don't get me wrong, X has all of the right reasons to be mean to those two, but Uranus really doesn't. He doesn't care unlike Neptune because X is going to give him what he wants: recognition, respect, -atention-. That's what he wants.

Because he's just known as the "stinky planet", the "one with the funny name" and probably discount Saturn. His social skills are lackluster, his only friends are the guy who is better than him and his honorary cousin who is gone like 50% of the time. For heavens sake, they don't even have that much in common. And we can't forget that he doesn't even get to say anything about the "big matter at the moment" a majority of the time. He's irrelevant not because he thinks he is, he's irrelevant because he actually is. That's why he acts like an asshole sometimes (wich I'm not justifying, I'm just stating the reasons) just to get validation.

And, personally, I like this direction. Sure, it won't work if Solarballs keeps refusing to give him his own arc or at least make him more relevant overall, but I do think it fits him.

Earth was the god of creation, one day he was having the god equivalent of art block so he talked to mars and mars was like ‘ironic, haha, because I just created moons and so did a lot of other planets’

so earth got really jealous (pre moon revolution earth obviously) and tried to create a whole twin planet and make her theia

and we all know how that went lol

but in this au earth was leaving it to dry overnight (because she’s made of clay) and she collapsed in on herself??? And instead made the moon which looked WAY different from Theia.

moon woke up alone and pretty confused so he took the tablecloth out from under him and wrapped it around his waist (which is why it has clay stains at the bottom) and took theias old robe and cut it apart (which is why it ALSO has clay stains)

eventually they lived happily ever after. Eventually. After earth stopped accusing Luna of murder.

Hey. What if Neptune was the one who found Planet X instead of the moons?

This idea randomly popped into my head and I cant get rid of it please help i am already working on TWO fanfics 😭

I saw this ask and my two (2) remaining neurons collided and decided to give me the biggest brainblast I’ve ever had. I have thoughts about this idea.

First of all, I can’t see anything major changing; just little (albeit important) changes. X still wouldn’t come back to the solar system before Ganymede and Europa find him. He wanted someone to represent him and help him plea his case to the Sun. It’s very unlikely that he’d settle for Neptune to do that job, especially since he’s been waiting for 4.6 billion years.

Technically, depending on when they actually meet, Neptune may not even remember X by the time he comes back. For this we’ll assume that Neptune does remember him/they met “recently” (sometime during/directly before or after the Moon Revolution).

X would already know a lot about Neptune because of all of his stalking (lol), so I don’t think his attitude towards him would change that much. He’d still view Neptune as an incompetent idiot. Maybe he’d use him to gain more information on the other planets (not that Neptune would know much about anyone other than Uranus).

It would definitely change a lot for Neptune, though. He’d probably try to befriend X immediately, and I can imagine X playing along with the whole “friendship” thing. Neptune leaves his orbit pretty frequently to check up on X and while he does find it a bit annoying, it’s also a little endearing, especially after not talking to anyone for billions of years.

X would tell him about how he was thrown out of the solar system by Jupiter and Saturn and that, one day, he’s planning to return. Neptune would encourage him to, saying that he’s sure all the others would love to meet him. X, of course, conveniently leaves out the fact that he wants to get Jupiter exiled and take his place.

I think it would be funny if Neptune mentions X to Uranus and Uranus is just like “Oh God, now he has two imaginary friends.” Imagine his face when he finds out that X is real lol

When X comes back with the moons, everyone is shocked and/or terrified, while Neptune is just like “omg hi neighbor!!!” Then, Jupiter is kicked out and Neptune is upset, but he gives X the benefit of the doubt. He reasons that he probably didn’t mean for Jupiter to get exiled and if anything it was Sun’s decision in the end.

Then, the Caelus situation happens. X is less confrontational with Neptune than in canon, but he still tries to keep Neptune and Uranus separated. He knows that Uranus is far easier to manipulate, but also doesn’t want to cause any unnecessary conflict with Neptune. Neptune feels like something is up, but he doesn’t actively fight with X or Uranus. He’s not actually against X, not yet, but he’s not nearly as fanboyish as Uranus.

Then, the moons challenge X and Neptune finally goes against X. He confronts him about not really wanting what’s best for the solar system, that he’s only after revenge. It’s actually pretty similar to Neptune conversation with Uranus in canon, except Neptune would be a lot less understanding and more angry because he thought they were friends and X lied.

X is distraught but continues with the challenges against the moons. From there, everything continues on as canon. Proteus confronts X (I’d have Proteus’ words mirror Neptune’s during their argument, for that extra sprinkle of ✨angst✨), he flees, has a conversation with Jupiter, and leaves the solar system.

This would probably affect the next arc more than anything (especially bc I believe that it’ll probably focus on Uranus/Caelus), but since that’s not out yet… yeah. That’s my take on this idea!!

I’ve been looking into more about the future of our solar system once the Sun turns into a red giant and there’s a really interesting theory about Titan and Saturn once’s his orbit become the habitable zone!

Titan is slowly moving away from Saturn like Luna is with us and their both incredibly important to their planet’s axis, once Titan gets farther away Saturn will most likely tip over like Uranus and could eject Titan from the solar system all together! Scientists aren’t too sure what’s going to happen with the rest of Saturn’s moons after this happens but it’s possible they are also going to get eject since Saturn tipping over with change his gravitational pull and their orbits could change and or become unstable. (At lest for those who didn’t break apart due to the rising temperatures)

So in short Titan is integral to Saturn’s stability and in turn the rest of Saturn’s moons as well, which could be a cool thing to look into for their relationship, Saturn is so reliant on Titan for everything, his the closest and biggest moon of Saturn so he carries a lot of the emotional toll and responsibilities that the other don’t, they aren’t really needed as much as Titan for Saturn’s well being and stability which has caused a lot of problems between Titan and basically everyone else.

I think it could be cool to explore this more for my story purposes, I’ve already started a few stories that I haven’t gotten around to finishing with my semester ending soon, but I can give a sneak peek ma haha.

This ain’t apart of the theory and more of my own personal headcannon but I like to think Saturn used to dress Titan up like a little doll, most in sweater vests, button-up shirts and nice pants, kinda like a preppy kid would wear. It was basically everything Titan is not, he wasn’t fancy, he hates tight fitting pants but Saturn loves all those things on him and won’t take no as an answer.

Titan was kinda seen as “the perfect moon that everyone should become!” The constant side comments of how well behaved and responsible Titan is, breed resentment in the other moons, even if they never meet him beforehand.

It took up until the moon revolution for him to finally break down those wall and began to talk to them, he was able to share his experiences and how he feels about Saturn in general with the other moons. I really like to think that the moon revolution was more than just a fight against their planets it help bring all the moons together for the first time! Even with moons who share a planet, they never really took the change to get to know each other without the constant pressure of being around their planets, who even if they don’t mean too can be very intimidating with their large size.

During this time some of the female moons like Dion, Rhea and maybe Europe (because let me honestly that woman is just bagging to do a make over on someone lol) helped him find his own style and feel more comfortable about himself :)

I’ve finished a drawing for Titan’s marks but didn’t really like how it turned out but it’ll help explain what I mean!

The new Solarballs episode is basically angst potential and I loved it, so mini rant (again).

Spoilers below:

Tw: Manipulation, mental health problems and implicit character death discussion

Uranus keeps being manipulated by X like people already have pointed out. Like, damn, he even talked about the "Caelus should be your name" thingy with the guy. (Also, wtf X, really? "The butt of the joke"? Be fr). Every time Uranus seems to doubt him, X immediately caters to his feelings in a very shady way if you ask me. And, as always, Uranus is too insecure to question the morality of literally doing the same thing that Jupiter did, only to get the "privilege" of being in Saturns orbit. Uranus is not thinking it trough, and X is taking advantage of that.

He straight up told him that he knew what he wanted: "recognition".

The Sun is also being pressured and kind of manipulated through guilt tripping... X is really playing chess with them.

Then there's Jupiter... Oh Jupiter. He was basically gone at that point. When the moons (and Neptune) found him he didn't want to hear them out AT ALL. He thought they weren't real. The time he was vanished wasn't even that long, but he was full of enough guilt, paranoia and shame that he just needed that extra push to absolutely break down. When he explained to the group what he did to try and compansate his mistakes, he genuinely thought it wasn't enough because he failed to save some of the early planets.

Some-of-them.

Like, the actual inner planets are *literally* alive thanks to him, something that the group tried to explain, but he still thought it wasn't enough. His mistakes still haunt him, specially now that he's alone. Jupiter doesn't have a "vendetta motivation" to keep himself sane like X did. He gave up on returning thanks to all the shame.

(The Solar System could collapse if he doesn't realize how important he is).

AND, I know the fandom loves them, THEIA IS FINALLY CANON GUYS. I just know that the rocky planets angst enthusiasts are going to love this one. Also, also, we can't forget that Jupiter tried to protect them (as he did with all other celestial bodys after the incident) and failed... Do with that as you wish.
