iluna and details
whenever i see anime characters i'm always fascinated by if they were more realistic, or more detailed, you know, the little elements of people that animation studios just don't have the budget nor time nor medium to depict. so this ficlet is a love letter to all the beautiful parts of people that can't really be captured until you're living in their lovely presence!
this wasn't originally an iluna post. it was actually for all of the nijien boys, you see, i worked on it as a warmup before my bigger projects, and a place for me to practice shorter fic. but i was so charmed by the concept and how fun these were to write that i wanted the girls in on this too...! i'll slowly work on the other units as time goes on and i work on more projects

đ¤ Kyo Kaneko
He calls himself an asshole and you'd be the first to agree. He's comfortable enough with you to poke fun at you, and when you tease back it's a game you both play to win. He's yours, after all, and it rolls off him like water off a duck's back, because he knows when to back off or go all in. His energy shines moonlight into the pitch dark. No matter what, he always has something to say that makes the night seem so much less bleak.
But the moon needs to sink to calm, and he stays late into the night with drive fierce enough to silence himself. He sits at his desk. Candy blue hair is swept back in a headband, but the dyed locks curl out in front of his face as he writes.
He is so determined, and the stars against his back wish they had his grit. The pencil wavers, bounces, swings this way and that as he thinks. The eraser presses the skin underneath his lip before the answer comes to him.
For all the resolve in his apple-green eyes are, the lids can barely sustain it. There are too many thoughts for one body to hold. The night creeps longer and his eyelashes flutter closed.
You see what the moon sees in him, this supercharged soul, the light that shines off his wit, the quiet resilience to keep going. Traces of moonbeam cross along his soft skin, the hoodie over his shoulders, hair the color of the sky. The patterns of lights follow as you carry him to bed.

đ° Maria Marionette
She lives in long sleeves. Your jacket suits her like a charm, even though it's much too big for her little body. Especially because it's too big for her body. It's so rare to see her without long socks that stretch far above the hem of her skirt.
Her knit socks brush against your legs as she sits. The movie has long been forgotten by you in favor of admiring her delicacy. She fits so perfectly in your lap, a stand to a centerpiece, a matching set, do not separate.
When she recognizes the look in your eye she curls closer to you, and when she can't get enough she musters up the courage to slip off her jacket.
Along the bends of her arms and the links upon her fingers you see everything she is so scared of. Sweeping lines stretch across her skin, pale and geometric, and perfectly wrapped around the diameter. They're symmetrical. Ball joints. Articulation imprinted in scars, the only sign flesh was once porcelain.
She is so gorgeous in her vulnerability. She is so gorgeous in her everything, her body and soul, no matter the form. You press your lips along the white scarring between her knuckles.

He has to be one of the most intricate pieces of art in the world. Thereâs no other explanation. His makeup never fades even as his eyes crinkle when he smiles, and when he presses his lips together right before laughing out loud.
And sometimes you canât even tell when itâs grooming or just how harmonious he was formed. His makeup never fades, but his air sparkles, thousands of strokes of gas and space dust and matter swirling around his body, the edge of a nebula, the collections of what makes solar systems burst and catch fire.
There is electricity when he moves. The earth bends around him. Not a hair is out of place even in moments when just touching him is like placing your hands against a plasma ball.
He is so beautiful and so unfathomable and so innately himself.
He shivers when you press against sensitivities but you doubt he could ever understand the coursing under your veins, the push and pull of gravity, the molten core. The effect he has on you.

đź Aia Amare
No matter what she does, she is feather-light. Her steps are easy to miss, so she sneaks up on you without even trying, and when you jump in surprise she titters in musical tones. When she reaches out to touch you, she is your pedestal. Her hands are strong but gentle, the mark of an artist, and the briefest skim against your skin leaves impressions like you are nothing but soft clay.
She is feather, and coated in downy white, and songbird and stars in the clouds. Her heavens soften her. If you didn't know a thing about her, you'd imagine her so fragile that she could float away with a breath.
But for as light as she is, she is intense. Waves roar in time with her noise. There is so much spirit and so much energy within her. The brightness turns blinding, but only when she wants it to.
She slips off the glasses, and you are reminded of the bristles that make up a feather. The lenses mute the color, but without them, cool mint freezes over so strongly that her gaze burns. Pale lashes fame the searing ocean. Slighter than a suggestion, but so prominent you know there is nothing earthly like her, you see the motion of curling rings hidden inside the green and blue. A sprinkling of gold between the rods. The glisten rotates in wheels. Eyes upon eyes upon eyes within eyes. Feather.
She places them back over her eyes, and her artisan hands motion around your body while you're struck with something unknowable. Her league is dimensions away from yours. You're blessed.

đ¸ Ren Zotto
You could never mistake him for a simple human. There's too much under his surface even when he tries, but he never does try. The horns upon his head protrude too high to fall under a lowered head.
In bright light, if you can focus, youâd think the green in his veins turns blazing. Focus harder and you realize it runs along the skin itself with the suggestion of a shining, scaled teal, before it disappears entirely.
You swear there's more teal in his hair that isn't swallowed by dark. It's soft and fine as you brush your fingers over him, and you can barely even see the undertone.
"It's not really black," he says. "Human eyes just perceive it as black because they don't have the anatomy for it."
The word- his color- is unpronounceable to human tongues. It requires a trill between fangs you don't have.
But you try anyways, and as it turns into a spit of nothing he laughs with you. You press a kiss to his unpronounceable hair. When his smile relaxes his fang catches on his lip.

Scarle Yonaguni
She is made entirely from her own creation. Love and care finds a home within her body, and stumbles around clumsily and spreads out through peals of laughter. There is nothing quite like her because she is everything around her; she is ember and she is ash, as much as she is ideal and reality, as much as she is exuberance and moderation. To chase and to heal. Architect of her own path, with so many miracles stored in her fingertips, all of them within simple delights.
Warmth trails through all she touches. The folds in her books, the keyboard turning shiny from use, crosses along the T's and dots above the I's. The way she holds you so tightly as if you were the only source of heat, even though she exudes fire all her own.
Cocoa and cinnamon follow her, a champurrado musk, and you can't place where the spicy scent comes from. It lingers in her hair and along her skin, those miracle fingertips that spend so much love and care of what she enchants, and you are no exception. When she runs her nails along your jawline the smooth blend puts you at ease.
All her cinder catches in your throat. Her touch is hypnosis. It's familiar, and home, and comfort. It's adventure and joy and discovery. You can't get her scent out of your mind, and when it finally grants you peace, the chocolate has already marked you endeared.

History and Geography of Magix
Many millennia ago, the Great Dragon created a Galaxy which contained multiple planetary systems. One of which was the Magic Dimension â a solar system with two suns and one inhabitable planet â Magix.
The Dragon went to rest on that planet, split up its magic into nine parts and scattered them across the globe. They stabilized into Magical Cores which had great impact on their surroundings.
The first people devolved close to the Core of the Essence of Magic, which had been there before. But as more time passed people began to leave the city and move to build cities around other Magical Cores. Those would grow to be seperate realms, with their capital closest to each core.
When the Great Dragon felt the end of its life was nearing, it decided to give up the Dragon Flame to a powerful Mage, which tuned her into the first Fairy and Keeper of the Flame. And when the Dragon did its last breath the magic which was left within it flowed down to the Lands Between, where it still keeps moving and not taking shape. Thus, turning the area into wildlands in which magic is either controlled by strong magic users, or rather impalpable to unexperienced ones.
The First Fairy created a realm, purely made of Magic, above the biggest lake of the lands. It was also where she was killed by her three sisters, the first witches. They trapped her spirit inside the realm and put a curse on it, to keep it untouched by time.
As they were gaining more and more power, they reached immortality. However, their spirits could be removed from their bodies. Those got destroyed and their spirits imprisoned in the deepest trench of Omega â Oblivion.
The realm with the Timeless Realm was named in honor of the first Fairy â Arcadia. The grounds were decided to be neutral and it turned into a place where everyone of every realm could come to and be save.
Years later a group of powerful magic users came together to create another Magical Core on an island, which was still unpopulated. They created a new society.
Thousands of years later the three witches were still able to cause mayhem on Magix.
They sent a Witch to destroy Ăsheim. The landmass melted down into the ocean and most citizens fled to continue their lives in other realms.
At the same time they attacked Domino and cursed the realms magical core through the hands of a young Wizard. Most Dominians petrified under that curse, only a few could escape, but no one can return.
Arcadia is the magical as well as political hotspot of the planet. It's a picturesque landscape with lush green plains and evergreen forests. In the middle of it is the biggest lake of the lands, above which floats the Timeless Realm of the first Fairy. Its capital is Magix City. Callisto is the land with the highest mountains, steepest cliffs and more than 20.000 floating islands. Its capital Asteria is on the largest sky island. Domino was once a warm realm. The main landmass is of cooled down lava from multiple volcanoes. The capitol is called Sparks. Ăsheim was once a landmass of pure ice. Nowadays there is only a small iceberg left. Glacia, the former capital, was built around it. JĂśrd has wide lands with a stony terrain and a lot of sharp, crystalline stalagmites, where next to nothing can grow. Its capital is Diamond. The realm is split in two - on the surface is Eraklyon, with its capitol Diamond; and the underground Downland, is a large system of caves. Linphea has the densest and darkest Forests, as well as the prettiest and most exotic flora. Its capital is Marigold. Melody is a place of Harmony and Music, where even the wind whispers a melody. It is a mostly wet and hilly landmass, where every plant has red leaves. The capital is called Harmonia. Oceana is a small tropical landmass with a chain of more than 75.000 islands, which look as if an undersea reef were stripped of its water â a vast landscape like that of the ocean floor. Many species of coral grow across steep cliffs with dangerous depths. The shores of those islands have golden sand, the sea shimmers silverly. The realm is split in two â the islands are Andros, with the capital Tides; and the underwater queendom Nereia. Pyros is a mostly swampy area which turns into a jungle as one gets closer to Linphea. It is also known as Lands Between or Wildlands. Serenia is a place of storms and wild weather. It has the smallest population of Magix. Its capital is called Aurai. Solaria is a desert with many oases. It has the largest population even though it is split up into multiple smaller cities. The largest one is the capital, Luminae. Zenith was always cold but by now it is even colder. A big part of its landmass was flooded and destroyed when Jotunn got wiped out. There is not one patch of grass within this land, as it's all been built over. The temperature was cooled down to keep the technology running as efficiently as possible. It is the land which is societally and technologically the most advanced. Its capital is Titania.
Omega doesn't have a Magical Core and is the place on Magix where magic is the weakest. It is a small island group in the middle of the deepest part of the ocean. But there is also an even deeper frozen dry trench - Oblivion, in which an Ice Serpent lives. It's the place where the most dangerous criminals get imprisoned.

Frozen in time: Rock fossils hint at Mars's ancient climate
Long ago, flowing wind and water shaped Mars's malleable sand and sediment into dunes, ripples and other landscape patterns, called bedforms. Over billions of years, some of these landforms hardened into rockâscientists then call them paleo-bedforms. Frozen in time, change only comes in the form of the slow erosion by dusty winds, burial by ancient lava flows or the occasional meteorite impact.
A team of researchers led by Planetary Science Institute Senior Scientist Matthew Chojnacki mapped and characterized paleo-bedforms across the red planet to better understand their diversity and Mars's ancient climate. The paper was published in the journal Geomorphology.
Since 2013 Chojnacki has worked on HiRISE, the High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, or MRO.
"I pulled together a collection of HiRISE images that had these weird features that looked like bedforms, but they were cratered and covered in rocks. They looked decrepit and fossilized," Chojnacki said. "We wanted to investigate further."
Their research turned up paleo-bedforms across landscapes of varying age, latitude and geologic context, including craters, canyons and basins. They can be classified into groups called paleo-dunes and paleo-megaripples, which were shaped by wind; fluvial paleo-dunes, which were shaped by water; and dune cast pits, which were paleo-dunes so eroded that only a shallow depression is left behind.
Paleo-bedforms were found all around the planet, but most were concentrated in Valles Marineris and Athabasca Valles, near the equator; Noctis Labyrinthus, west of Valles Marineris; Arcadia Planitia on the northern lowlands; Hellas Planitia in the southern hemisphere, and the highland-lowland transition between Arabia Terra and Apollinaris Mons.
"The most compelling and unambiguous paleo-bedforms were the dunes," Chojnacki said. "A lot of these paleo-dunes are dead ringers for the modern dunes, they just look more decrepit."
The most widespread paleo-bedforms were paleo-megaripples, which look like large fields of parallel ridges. These smaller bedforms occur when wind blows over abundant coarse sand.
"Paleo-megaripples are also compelling, but slightly less so than the dunes, because there are other geologic processes that could have formed similar looking landforms," Chojnacki said.
Based on what the team knew about modern megaripples, they proposed an evolutionary model for these features: The wind first shapes them, then eventually stops, allowing for the hardening and cementing of the sand into rock, leading to their preservation and eventually degradation.
The rarest and most heavily degraded paleo-bedforms were likely shaped by ancient water, called fluvial paleo-bedforms. The team only found these in what are thought to be the remnants of ancient megafloods.
Chojnacki said he was surprised they didn't find more of these fluvial paleo-bedforms.
"Mars has an abundance of dry river channels where more fluvial bedforms may have formed, but it appears their small size and channel infilling were not conducive for their preservation." he said.
The team estimates that most of the paleo-bedforms were cemented into the geological record about 2 billion years ago or more recently. Most bedforms were likely buried following their formation and transport, likely by volcanic activity like lava flows or ash fall, until erosion revealed them again, while others cemented into rock without ever being buried.
"In other cases, active sand dunes along the north polar cap are migrating over older paleo-dunes, leading to their erosion. Seasonal ice can also erode the dunes," Chojnacki said. "The variety of these bedforms speaks to the diversity of dynamics and conditions operating in the solar system."
Now that this survey has revealed a large sample of paleo-bedforms on Mars, the team hopes to identify modern dune fields which may be headed in a similar direction.
"While many bedforms on Mars are active and migrating today, other fields are static and show evidence for some sort of stabilization process that may eventually lead to lithification," Chojnacki said. "Understanding this continuum will hopefully allow us to better understand the changing climatic conditions of the red planet."
IMAGE: Paleo-megaripples â as seen in Marsâ Terra Sirenum by the High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment â have consistent crest wavelengths, numerous fractures and craters, and can be partially covered by ancient lava flows. Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Arizona.

Advancements in Blockchain Technology and Sustainability

In my recent research into advancements in blockchain technology, I have focused on its sustainability. The rapidly evolving blockchain landscape is transforming financial systems and benefiting various sectors indirectly, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
The Shift Towards Decentralization
A significant trend in this evolution is the shift towards decentralization, which reshapes traditional business models and drives the adoption of sustainable practices. In the blockchain space, decentralization enhances transparency and security while democratizing access to resources. This empowerment of individuals and smaller entities fosters innovation and adaptabilityâessential qualities for a thriving and sustainable ecosystem.
Empowering Local Energy Production
Decentralization of energy plays a crucial role in enabling individuals and smaller entities to engage in the economy. Local energy production reduces dependence on centralized utility companies, resonating with the decentralized ethos of blockchain. For instance, startups like Arcadia allow users to purchase clean energy from local solar projects, enabling customers to support renewable energy initiatives without installing solar panels. Similarly, SolarCity (now part of Tesla) offers solar leasing options that allow homeowners to generate electricity without the upfront costs associated with purchasing solar panels. This model parallels how blockchain enables individuals to transact independently of traditional banks.
Building Community Resilience
Decentralized energy systems contribute significantly to community resilience by reducing vulnerability to disruptions, such as natural disasters or economic downturns. Organizations like Grid Alternatives exemplify this commitment by installing solar panels in low-income communities, empowering residents to lower their energy bills and achieve energy independence. This empowerment reflects the same principles that drive the blockchain movement, which aims to provide autonomy and stability to individuals often overlooked by conventional systems.
Emergence of Energy-Sharing Platforms
Energy-sharing platforms enhance community engagement and social cohesion by facilitating transactions within local neighborhoods. By encouraging residents to connect and collaborate on energy initiatives, these platforms foster a sense of ownership over energy resources and support the development of localized energy economies.
The scalability of energy-sharing platforms allows them to adapt to various community sizes and energy needs. In urban areas, residents can easily trade excess energy generated from rooftop solar panels, while rural communities may focus on larger-scale renewable projects, such as wind or biomass energy. As these platforms promote local energy production, they also contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing waste and enhancing overall energy consumption efficiency.
Additionally, energy-sharing platforms often incorporate innovative financing models that make renewable energy more accessible. Crowdfunding and community investment initiatives can support the installation of solar panels or other renewable energy systems, enabling those with limited financial resources to participate. This democratization of clean energy access echoes the fundamental goals of blockchain technology: to create a more equitable landscape.
The Role of Microgrids
Microgrid development is a crucial component of decentralized energy systems, providing communities with the ability to manage their energy generation and consumption independently. Unlike traditional power grids, which rely on centralized generation and distribution, microgrids operate locally, allowing neighborhoods or communities to harness renewable energy resources such as solar, wind, or biomass. This localized approach enhances energy resilience and security, especially during emergencies.

Opt for Renewable Energy
Using renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power can greatly reduce your carbon footprint. Many utility companies offer green energy options. The U.S. Department of Energy offers resources on how to switch to renewable energy.
How to Opt for Renewable Energy: Steps and Examples
Switching to renewable energy sources is a powerful way to reduce your carbon footprint and promote environmental sustainability. Here are detailed steps and examples to help you transition to renewable energy effectively.
Steps to Opt for Renewable Energy
1. Assess Your Current Energy Use
Steps:
Review Energy Bills: Examine your current energy consumption patterns by looking at your energy bills over the past year.
Identify High Usage Areas: Determine which appliances or systems consume the most energy in your home or business.
Example:
By reviewing your energy bills, you might find that heating and cooling account for a significant portion of your energy use, indicating a potential area for improvement.
2. Research Renewable Energy Options
Steps:
Learn About Different Sources: Understand the various types of renewable energy sources available, such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal.
Evaluate Local Availability: Investigate which renewable energy options are feasible in your region.
Example:
In sunny areas, solar panels might be the best option, whereas windy regions might benefit more from wind turbines.
3. Choose a Renewable Energy Provider
Steps:
Compare Providers: Look for renewable energy providers in your area and compare their offerings.
Check for Green Certifications: Ensure the provider has certifications such as Green-e Energy to verify the authenticity of their renewable energy sources.
Example:
Choosing a provider like Arcadia that connects homeowners to renewable energy projects across the country.
4. Install Renewable Energy Systems
Steps:
Consult Professionals: Hire a certified installer to assess your property and recommend the best renewable energy system.

5. Take Advantage of Incentives and Rebates
Steps:
Research Available Incentives: Look for government incentives, tax credits, and rebates that can reduce the cost of installing renewable energy systems.
Apply for Programs: Submit applications for any applicable programs to receive financial assistance.
Example:
Utilizing the federal Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which offers a 26% tax credit for solar systems installed on residential and commercial properties.
6. Monitor and Maintain Your System
Steps:
Regularly Check Performance: Use monitoring systems to track the performance of your renewable energy installation.
Schedule Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance to ensure your system operates efficiently and lasts longer.
Example:
Use an app provided by your solar panel manufacturer to monitor energy production and identify any issues.
Examples of Opting for Renewable Energy
Solar Panels
Description:
Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a clean and renewable energy source.
Example:
The Smith family installed a 5 kW solar panel system on their roof, which meets most of their household energy needs and significantly reduces their electricity bills.
Wind Turbines
Description:
Wind turbines generate electricity by harnessing the power of the wind. They are ideal for areas with consistent wind speeds.
Example:
A small business in a rural area installs a wind turbine to generate electricity, reducing their reliance on the grid and lowering their energy costs.
Geothermal Heating and Cooling
Description:
Geothermal systems use the stable temperature of the earth to heat and cool buildings efficiently.
Example:
A homeowner installs a geothermal heat pump, which provides sustainable heating in the winter and cooling in the summer, resulting in lower utility bills and reduced carbon emissions.
Hydropower
Description:
Hydropower systems generate electricity by using the flow of water. This can be suitable for properties near streams or rivers.
Example:
A small farm uses a micro-hydropower system to generate electricity from a nearby stream, providing a consistent and renewable energy source.
Conclusion
Opting for renewable energy is a smart and sustainable choice that helps reduce your carbon footprint and promotes environmental conservation. Ok so Iâm rewatching Tales of Arcadia with my family and we just finished 3 Below and I heard Nana Domzalski say when Toby goes to college sheâll go like on Akiridion with Vex, and Iâm sorry, but now I want to write a college AU fic thatâs just Toby and Krel going to college together. Toby majors in film, because heâs going to make the Kleb or Alive series real if it kills him. Krel, naturally, majors in Physics. The funniest thing about this idea to me is Krel Tarron existing in a college classroom. Like, he has to take a class on space for something, and he goes to his counselor like âI shouldnât have to take thisâ and his counselor is like âIâm sorry but otherwise you wonât have the prerequisites to take the more advanced classesâ and Krel just goes âIâm sorry, is BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET not enough of a prerequisite for you?â But, of course, since this is the American Education System, no, no itâs not, so he ends up having to take an entire semester-long class about space and I mean like the professorâs never even BEEN to space, so really, he should be the one teaching the class. At some point, the professor mentions how wormholes are theorized, but never really proven to be scientifically possible, and Krel just interrupts, mid-lecture, like the absolute mad lad he is, and goes âthatâs not trueâ and the professors like âoh really, and why do you say that?â Like super sarcastically, and he just responds âI built one in what I believe you call junior year. It wasnât that hard.â And the professorâs like âbullshitâ and one random studentâs just like âno hes right. Donât you watch the news?â And apparently the professor does not, and the student goes âyeah no thatâs Krel Tarron of House Tarron of Akiridion-5. Heâs literally a king. Like heâs royalty on another planet. What do you mean you didnât know that I thought we just kind of silently agreed we werenât going to talk about itâ and the professorâs like âstop fucking around were in classâ and so Krel just⌠drops his transduction. For their final exam, they have to write a paper and give a presentation on a planet of their choice outside of the solar system, and Krel actually doesnât write his on Akiridion-5, but the other Student, who knew who he was, did, and they, very sheepishly, asks for Krelâs help. Turns out, the student, who is a very rad non-binary music Major whoâs just here because they love space, is a bit of a fan of Akiridion-5. Theyâve been learning about it and researching it since the defeat of Morando in Arcadia. Theyâre fast friends, and Krel happily helps this very cool person, and what better way to research Akiridion-5 than to visit? So he takes them to Akiridion-5, introduces them to Aja, who is flourishing in her leadership position, and everyone else, too, and theyâre like losing their mind. The presentation goes great. They end up becoming quite the composer, and they end up working with Krel to compose the music for the Kleb or Alive series after they all graduate. Krel doesnât do the whole romance thing, and they agree, but more than friends? More than friends is fine. QPR acquired.
Anyways, I think I got a little (read: a lot) carried away, I just think the idea is neat.

Book Recommendations: New Horror Titles
Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak
Fresh out of rehab, Mallory Quinn takes a job in the affluent suburb of Spring Brook, New Jersey as a babysitter for Ted and Caroline Maxwell. She is to look after their five-year-old son, Teddy. Mallory immediately loves this new job. She lives in the Maxwellâs pool house, goes out for nightly runs, and has the stability she craves. And she sincerely bonds with Teddy, a sweet, shy boy who is never without his sketchbook and pencil. His drawings are the usual fare: trees, rabbits, balloons. But one day, he draws something different: a man in a forest, dragging a womanâs lifeless body. As the days pass, Teddyâs artwork becomes more and more sinister, and his stick figures steadily evolve into more detailed, complex, and lifelike sketches well beyond the ability of any five-year-old. Mallory begins to suspect these are glimpses of an unsolved murder from long ago, perhaps relayed by a supernatural force lingering in the forest behind the Maxwellâs house. With help from a handsome landscaper and an eccentric neighbor, Mallory sets out to decipher the images and save Teddy - while coming to terms with a tragedy in her own past - before itâs too late.
Beneath the Stairs by Jennifer Fawcett

One summer night, an emboldened fourteen-year-old Clare and her best friend, Abby, ventured into the Octagon House. Clare came out, but a piece of Abby never did. Twenty years later, an adult Clare receives word that Abby has attempted suicide at the Octagon House and now lies in a coma. With little to lose and still grieving after a personal tragedy, Clare returns to her roots to uncover the darkness responsible for Abbyâs accident.
From Below by Darcy Coates
Years ago, the SS Arcadia vanished without a trace during a routine voyage. Though a strange, garbled emergency message was broadcast, neither the ship nor any of its crew could be found. Sixty years later, its wreck has finally been discovered more than three hundred miles from its intended course...a silent graveyard deep beneath the ocean's surface, eagerly waiting for the first sign of life. Cove and her dive team have been granted permission to explore the Arcadia's rusting hull. Their purpose is straightforward: examine the wreck, film everything, and, if possible, uncover how and why the supposedly unsinkable ship vanished. But the Arcadia has not yet had its fill of death, and something dark and hungry watches from below. With limited oxygen and the ship slowly closing in around them, Cove and her team will have to fight their way free of the unspeakable horror now desperate to claim them. Because once they're trapped beneath the ocean's waves, there's no going back.
Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes
Claire Kovalik is days away from being unemployed - made obsolete - when her beacon repair crew picks up a strange distress signal. With nothing to lose and no desire to return to Earth, Claire and her team decide to investigate. What they find at the other end of the signal is a shock: the Aurora, a famous luxury space-liner that vanished on its maiden tour of the solar system more than twenty years ago. A salvage claim like this could set Claire and her crew up for life. But a quick trip through the Aurora reveals something isnât right. Whispers in the dark. Flickers of movement. Words scrawled in blood. Claire must fight to hold onto her sanity and find out what really happened on the Aurora, before she and her crew meet the same ghastly fate.

Things We Can Do
Is the âSupremeâ Court giving you serialized panic attacks this week?  Yep, me too. Iâm pretty sure that fascism is here, and our current government is too weak to stop it.  By 2024, our votes may mean jack shit. So Iâm shifting my thoughts toward community aid and local action, trying to figure out how to help people survive.
NOTE: Vote anyway. Â Vote every goddamn election, all the way down the ballot, for the most cutthroat progressives available. Do this for the rest of your life, as long as you have the right. It is, at most, 2 days out of your year. Â If you live in a voter-friendly state, itâs 30 minutes out of your year. Do it. Reduce harm with all your might. Â Even if SCOTUS gives the states the rights to toss the popular vote aside and install more fascists willy-nilly, let the record show - let history know - that we are not fucking okay with it.
Iâm a white woman, which means Iâm ignorant about effective activism, and Iâm damn sure not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Â Look to the BIPOC and Queer organizers who have been screaming at us to get off our asses for decades; they have plans and systems in place. Â All we have to do is show up, check our egos at the door, and work.
Meanwhile, think of what youâre already doing, and letâs take a moment to acknowledge it and inspire and teach each other. Â We need each other. Â We need community. Â Hereâs what IÂ do:
Serve as a county election judge (poll work)
Volunteer with local environmental restoration
Support a family enduring domestic violence
Contribute monthly to a meal at the local homeless shelter
Support a local non-profit that provides non-WIC-eligible household essentials to low-income families
Send letters through VoteForward.Org to encourage voting in underrepresented areas
Set my utilities up through Arcadia Power, which prioritizes solar and wind contributions to the grid and drives the demand for clean energy (they coordinate with your regional utility service; you can do this from anywhere)
Donate money to various causes whenever I can
Write to my state and federal representatives at least monthly about issues that matter to us
I am sure - quite sure - that there is more I could be doing, but itâs important for my own sanity to take a minute and see the ways that Iâm already helping (I hope). Â I know youâre helping, too. Â Tell me about it. Â What are you doing? Â What do you want to do? Â What can we do together? Â We canât fix oncoming fascism. Â But we can fight it. Â We can fight it together.

Till the Stars Had Run Away - Chapter 7

Summary: Killian Jones was a voyager. Actually, he was many things, or at least he had been - a lieutenant, a brother, a loving boyfriend - until everything had turned upside down and his life had hit an all time low. So, he gave up. Aboard his spaceship he abandoned Arcadia, his planet, navigating the stars and other solar systems in search of... well, he still didn't know what he was searching for, but his rule was "never remain in the same place longer than necessary."

Everything exists,

âHelp yourself.â David had accompanied Killian to some sort of warehouse with various spare parts of spaceships piled up here and there on shelves. âSorry, I don't understand much about mechanics.â He apologized.
Killian looked around him, some pieces appeared to be useful, others looked like half-broken remains from which perhaps a couple of bolts could be extracted but nothing more. âIt seems more boneyard than storage.â
âYeah, well, not everybody who landed here was lucky enough to tell the tale..â David sighed.
A look of understanding passed between them. Killian nodded and started to rummage through the pieces. They had just checked the Jolly Roger to assess the damages, passing through a hidden corridor that led directly to the hangar without having to go out into the open. If I had known this passage existed, I would have probably been spared my hospital stay, Killian had thought.
âWhat is like to grow up on this planet?â He asked nonchalantly, still trying to decipher the man next to him.
âNobody is from Vernal-Den.â
Killian looked at him suspiciously âThen, how did you land here?â
âProbably, same as you did. We had entered the gravitational field without even realizing it. Sadly, we were less fortunate than you, our spaceship was destroyed. Itâs a miracle we survived. And in no time we were trapped here.â
âAnd you built an underground city.â There was astonishment in his voice.
âItâs not that big, and the tunnels were already part of this planet, we just repurposed them for our convenience.â
âHow many of you live here?â
David appeared lost in a faraway thought. âThere were more than twenty of us in the original group. Some had already gone away, joining a fleeing ship. Some⌠well, letâs just say they had tried an escape route that did not turn out to be the best choice. Thereâs just a few of us left now.â
âWhy didnât you leave?â Killian was curious to know what kept the other man tied to this lost land.
âI contemplated the possibility a couple of times. But at the beginning it was chaos, people needed a leader. Someone who took responsibility for organizing things down here.â
âYou?â
âI was their leader on our home planet.â David answered, and Killian studied the man in front of him, his stance, the way he always looked straight into the eyes of his interlocutor. He exuded confidence and Killian had no trouble imagining him as a charismatic manager or even a king. But when he was about to ask, the other man went on. âWhen things started to run by themselves, I considered going somewhere else, but well, you can imagine, we donât receive many visitors.â
âSo if the opportunity arises to leave now, you will take it on the fly?â
âI don't know,â David shook his head, âbut I would certainly think about it.â
Killian spent some time choosing pieces from the shelves. When he felt satisfied with his choices, he said âI think I have everything I need.â
David nodded and they made their way back to the ship. Killian was eager to get started on the repairs, the other man said he had some tasks to do and would be back to pick him up in a few hours, so Killian found himself alone in the hangar. But that was no problem, he loved devoting sweat and tears to his ship, and fixing it was for him like healing the wounds of a close friend.
Time flew by when he was with his lady, and when David returned, Killian was covered in grease and oil stains. âIâve just talked to Mary Margaretâ, the blonde man stated, âdinner should be ready soon, we better go home.â
A few corridors and passages down, David stopped in front of a double door. He seemed to ponder something, but in the end, he said âLet me show you something.â
Behind that door there was one of the most amazing things Killian had ever seen. A greenhouse. The man remembered when Henry mentioned it. Now he understood why the boy was so enthusiastic about it.
The place was enormous. Plants and trees of all kinds and species grew in full bloom under an artificial source of bright light and the temperature in the room was slightly wet but pleasant. Scents of different flowers filled the air and Killian recognized some fruits that he had only seen in pictures. He was staring with awe. âWell, this isâŚâ
âOutstanding? Extraordinary?â David finished his sentence. âYeah. Exactly my thoughts when I found it.â
âWhat do you mean, found it? Was it already here when you arrived?â
David nodded.
âBut how could it be? You said that nobody was living here when you landed. Who is in charge of this place?â
âThe place runs all by itself.â Under the astonished look of the other man, David added âMany things are strange on this planet, and I donât have all the answers.â He shook his head. âI wish I had.â
~¡~¡~¡~
Back home Killian took a quick shower to get rid of all the grease of the engine and when he was redressing with clean clothes, Emma approached him and started to help him with the ointment and fresh bandages for his bruises. They were alone in the upper part of the loft. She was chewing her bottom lip, maybe because she was concentrating on the task, or so he thought, and thatâs why he was surprised when she abruptly said âWe need to talk.â
He arched a brow. âIâve found that when a woman says that, I'm rarely in for a pleasant conversation.â
She rolled her eyes. âI want you to know what Sidney Glass told me about New-Tolemac.â
Emma had just finished fixing the last of the gauze, and Killian put a hand on hers stopping her movements. She lifted her gaze, staring into his eyes perplexedly. He nodded, trying to silently tell her that she could trust him with whatever she wanted to reveal.
But the closeness, her hand on his chest, the way she was looking at him, it was too much to bear for Killian. Intense and maybe inappropriate thoughts were forming in his head, and he needed to pay attention to what she was about to say. He took a step back and started to put on a shirt.
Emma sat down at the end of the bed. She was fidgeting, clearly uncomfortable and worried. âThe King and Queen of New-Tolemac have joined forces with the Industry.â She blurted.
âWell, thatâs a powerful partnership, indeed.â Killian conceded.
âBut why? For years they have built and perfected a plan to defeat the Industry, they have been preparing for war. Now they want to be their ally. I donât understand.â Emma shook her head.
âPeople often change sides according to their benefits.â
âYeah. Mr. Glass said they have a common goal. But he didnât know what that was. Or he didnât want to reveal it to me.â Emma had been staring at her feet so far. But she frowned and raised her gaze to find his. âI donât know what to think.â
Killian sat down next to her and covered her hand with his. âWhat is exactly troubling you?â
âIf New-Tolemac doesnât fear a possible attack of the Industry, maybe they wonât be needing Henry as their heir anymore. So I should be relieved. But if they still need Henry for their future business, they are more powerful now, and finding my son wouldnât be much of a problem for them.â She shivered. âIâm terrified.â She admitted.
Killian looked sympathetically at her, then he opened his arms and she leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder. âWe will protect Henry. Nothing bad will happen to the boy.â He tried to reassure her, and she mentally thanked him for his choice to use the word we.
~¡~¡~¡~
When Emma and Killian went downstairs Henry was immersed in a story. Mary Margaret was putting some things in place on her shelves, which in Killianâs opinion was not at all necessary, as they already seemed in order; he noticed that the boy glanced confused towards the brunette woman but didn't give it too much weight.
David was in the kitchen, browning some vegetables. "You absolutely have to try these," he told his audience, "they don't have all the intense flavor they had on our planet, but, given that they are from a greenhouse, they are not bad at all."
âWhat was your home planet?â Killian inquired.
âOne of the NTH-Confederates.â It was Mary Margaret who answered.
âNo way!â Henry had stopped giving attention to his tablet.
âYes, why? Do you know them?â Was Davidâs question, while his wife simultaneously asked: "Have you been there?"
âEverybody in the multiverse knows them.â Killian stated. âI traveled a lot, but I never went that far away. Those planets are surrounded by legends and myths.â
âWell, itâs a very tangible and existing myth.â The brunette said with a nostalgic look in her eyes.
âItâs so cool! It has to be a wondrous place.â Henry was as enthusiastic as usual.
âYeah. Well⌠Iâd like it to be as cool as it used to be.â There was a hint of sadness in Davidâs voice. Then he shook his head as if he didn't want to indulge in melancholic thoughts. âBut, they still have the best fillglow team of the multiverse!â
âWhat are you talking about?â Killian rhetorically asked.
âWhy, The Buttercups, of course!â
âNo, no, no.â Killian accentuated it by swinging one finger. âI mean, they are some fine fellows, I wonât argue with that. But The Black Clippers? Thatâs a team as it ought to be!â
âOh, come on! The Buttercups have won four major leagues. What did your team win?â
âItâs easy to have the most requested players on the market when you are loaded. My boys, they cut their teeth on the field, they fought to reach where they are. They were not a guaranteed winning team, and look at them now, top end of the MFC table this year. Plus, they play fair.â
âWhat is that supposed to mean?â David was staring back at the other man, chin raised, one hand on his hip. He might even have looked threatening, were it not for the fact that in his other hand he was brandishing a wooden spoon and wearing an apron that read "the most charming chef in the world".
âEasy guys.â His wife tried to make peace. âDinner is almost ready, would you like to help set the table?â
They all ate quietly, the boys still talking about sports, but with Mary Margaret's gentle interjection now and then, and some glances at her husband, they didnât argue much. Emma, instead, was delighted, looking at Killian talking about his favorite team as if he was defending his honor.
When they finished eating, the brunette stood up and said to her husband âDavid, you should go and do your patrol, while I check at the hospital if they need anything.â Something that Killian had already listened to the previous day, as well just after dinner.
Henry looked at the woman frowning. âWhy do you always repeat the same actions, day after day?â He was perplexed.
Killian hummed as if he had the clues to the boyâs puzzle âThis is a stuck-track planet, my lad.â he explained to a confused Henry. âIâve been on some of them when I was young.â
âYou say it as if you were an old fellow.â Emma snorted. âWhat are you, a million years old?â
âItâs more like two hundred.â Was his reply.
And to her surprise, she didnât detect any hint of a lie. âAre you kidding me?â
Killian was about to reply, but Henry interrupted their banter âWhatâs a stuck-track planet?â
âIt means that time runs differently here.â The man explained. âThe days or even weeks we spend on this planet are probably just a couple of minutes back home.â
The boy seemed fascinated by the idea. âWow! Now I understand why my watch gives almost the same hour, it's not broken, it just moves really slow!â
âExactly. And it affects people, too.â Killian went on. âThey donât age, or at least not in the way you do on Althea-Seals.â Then he drew near Emma, whispering so that only she could hear him âStuck-track planets may have given me experience, but as you can see Iâve retained my youthful glow.â He winked at her, who just rolled her eyes but couldnât suppress a smile.
âThis is why the days all look the same here.â Henry deduced, who was giving further thought to the subject.
âThis is why we follow routines so strictly.â Mary Margaret chimed in. âIt helps count the passing of time.â
âDoes that mean that you and David arenât the age you appear, either?â Emma questioned.
The other woman thought about it. âAdd twenty years, give or take. But itâs hard to say exactly.â
The married couple excused themselves while heading out of the loft to carry out their duties. Killian and Emma started to put away the remains of the dinner. Henry was probably still eager to know as much as possible about this strange planet and its slow time, but when he stood up with his dirt plate in his hands he couldnât suppress a yawn. His mother insisted on him going to bed.
~¡~¡~¡~
âWhere do those flying rocks around the planet come from?â Killian asked David after he had come back from his patrol.
Henry was already sleeping upstairs, and the three of them were sitting around the table.
âAhm, itâs not so easy to explain.â The blond man answered.
âGive it a try.â Killian wanted to understand how Vernal-Den worked.
David shook his head. âItâs not that I donât want to tell you, more than I donât actually know about it.â He made a pause trying to find better words to explain his point of view. âI would say itâs remotely directed.â
âFrom where?â Emma asked curiously.
âWe donât know.â This time was Mary Margaretâs turn to answer, who had just entered the loft, back from the hospital, and joined the other adults at the table.
âBut I assure you, thereâs none else on this planet, apart from the people we know about. And I trust all of them.â David had the urge to defend his friends.
âA couple of people we knew had tried to go outside to search for other forms of life, enemies, whatever... to understand who or what supervises this planetâs activities.â Mary Margaret sighed. âLetâs just say it didnât end well.â
âBut there should be someone else on this planet, defending it.â Killian didnât comprehend.
âThereâs nobody else living here, apart from the people we already know.â
âHow can you be so sure?â Emma asked.
âNobody else uses the greenhouse and its products.â David explained. âNobody else wastes the energy generated by the planet. Itâs just us.â
âBut itâs clear that someone really wants to protect this planet from intruders, therefore the rocks. For what purpose?â Killianâs attempt to solve this puzzle only created more questions and doubts.
âWell, the greenhouse could supply oxygen and food for an entire population. I think that someone is interested in keeping this planet as a possible lifeline.â
âA lifeline.â The dark man wondered about it. âWhoâs behind this?â
âMy theory is just as good as yours.â The blond man shook his head again.
âBut you do have a theory.â
âWhoâs playing with planets as pawns for his own benefits?â David grimaced.
âYou think the Industry is behind this?â Emma almost whispered, as if she was worried that the Industry itself could hear her. She shivered, and Killian put his hand on hers resting on her knee under the table. He was willing to tell her that everything was going to be ok, but he didnât want to generate indiscreet questions from his hosts.
David shrugged. âAny other ideas?â
âI donât know. We haven't lived here for a long time. You tell me.â Killian teased.
David looked straight at his guests. âWe did some research, with the limited resources we have here, but I assure you itâs nothing we had seen before. What generates all the power needed to maintain the greenhouse and the system that propels the rocks outside the atmosphere ⌠itâs not material, if you understand what I mean.â
Killian passed his bionic hand over his stubble thoughtfully. âNot material.â He repeated. âAntiparticles? But thatâs preposterous! A fantasy! You canât create energy from nothing.â
âYeah. You would say so. But thereâs no other explanation. Itâs a power so strong that can create an entirely new worldâŚâ David made a pause, and then: âor destroy one.â
âAntiparticles,â Killian repeated, while all his theories were starting to fit in. âSo thatâs how that vile crocodile annihilates the planets he doesn't need anymore.â
The blond man nodded. âAfter looting everything the planet has to offer, the Industry injects some of those antiparticles underground. And they disintegrate every last molecular bond and electric impulse until the planet itself implodes.â
âIs that what happened to your planet?â Emma asked Killian even if she didnât need an actual answer, and then she turned to the couple âYours as well?â
âWeâre not sure about that,â David answered. âFrom the sources we have, it appears that the NTH-Confederates planets are still alive and kicking, all of them. I think Mr. Gold has other intentions, some obscure interest in them. But I donât know what it is.â
âDo you miss it? Your home.â Emma inquired. She didnât miss hers. Life on New-Tolemac when she was a child had not been that bad, she couldnât complain. But the lack of freedom and the memories of the last events there had left a sour taste and no desire of going back ever.
âYes. We do.â There was sadness in Davidâs voice. âMost of the time. But we know that returning there doesnât necessarily mean that we could go back to our lives. Many things have changed. And Iâm not sure Iâd like to see how our planet has become.â
âWe had to make some difficult decisions before leaving our home. But it was for the best of all.â Mary Margaret sobbed. âIt was a long time ago, but it still hurts like the first day.â David put his hand on hers, smiling faintly, trying to give her courage.
âWhat happened? If itâs not too much to ask.â Killian softly asked.
âWe were under attack,â David explained. âWe tried to defend ourselves, but the Industryâs power is difficult to overcome. We realized that the only way for us to survive was to abandon our landâŚâ
Mary Margaret stepped in, âWe believed that it was the end, that we wouldnât be able to escape alive.â She sighed loudly âI had just had a baby, and we knew that taking her with us was too risky, it would have been her death sentence.â
âSo we contacted a woman who promised us that our daughter would be taken care of, she knew that the King and Queen of a faraway planet were searching for an heir.â David went on telling the story, but his voice wasnât as steady as he tried to make it. He was still affected by the sad memory as well as his wife. âWe wrapped her in a white blanket with a purple ribbon and we gave her the best chance to be the princess she could have never been with us.â
âSo you decided to sell her!â Emma shouted.
âWhat?â - âNo!â David and Mary Margaret reacted simultaneously, shaking their heads in bewilderment.
âWe never said anything about money.â David pointed out.
âWe could have never done anything like that to our child.â Mary Margaret seemed shocked by her guestâs assumption and even a bit outraged.
Emma looked at them with an open mouth, but no sound came out. Then she abruptly stood up and rushed out of the house.
The married couple exchanged a questioning look. âDid I say something wrong?â Mary Margaret asked worriedly.
Killian shook his head. âI should apologize for her behavior. This is a sensitive matter for her. If you would excuse me.â He said standing up and heading to the door.
~¡~¡~¡~
âAre you alright, love?â Killian found Emma sitting on the corridor floor, with her arms around her legs and her face buried in her knees.
He waited for a reply, but it didnât come. So he sat down next to her. She was crying, her back shuddering.
âSwanâŚâ he tried, but then... âEmma, talk to me.â
She raised her face to look straight at him. Tears rolling down her cheeks. âI have a white blanket with a purple ribbon from when I was a baby! I always had it!â And there was pain in her eyes, but also anger.
It was his time to keep silent. He didnât know how to react to this new piece of information.
âItâs them!â She exclaimed between sobs. âThose people inside the house are my parents! How am I supposed to look at their faces?â
An immeasurable feeling of protection spread within Killian, but he had to swallow his urge to hug her as if their lives depended on it, because it wasnât the right time. She was struggling against enough demons, he could not burden her with further emotional matters. âWell, love, if it were me finally finding my parents, I would be very pleased to spend as much time as possible with them, to get the chance to know them and understand who they really are.â
âThey sold me! They didnât want me!â Emma looked at him as if he were an alien. How he could not understand her point of view was beyond her comprehension.
But Killian did understand her, given that he had been sold as a child as well, he knew the feeling, he just didnât think this was the same case he had lived through. âThatâs not what they said in there. They were trying to protect their baby, to give her her best chance to live a life they couldnât afford for her. And they didnât seem happy about that decision. I saw regret and what-ifs in their eyes.â
He knew she too noticed the pain in David and Mary Margaret's strangled voices, but he also knew she wasn't ready to admit it. âThey are lying.â She hissed.
âAre you sure about that? Henry once told me you have this superpower, that you can detect a lie when you hear it. I had the impression they were being honest while telling their story.â
âBut I saw the contract!â She was grasping at straws.
Killian had to take her to a more practical level, something tangible that she could hold on to if she wanted to. âAye, you saw it. And who exactly signed it?â
âIâŚâ Emma tried to recall a ten-year-old memory, but it wasnât easy. After all, she had been in shock when she had discovered she wasn't the real daughter of the King and Queen of New-Tolemac. âI donât know⌠I mean, Iâm pretty sure there were my adoptive parentsâ names in the paper, butâŚâ
And that was when Killian realized that he had bought her some time, at least. âSo you are not completely sure that they are your parents.â
He saw how her shoulders hunched as she was looking at him with watering pleading eyes and he understood that part of her was yelling to run away from pain and old scars, but another part was whispering that maybe she could finally find that love that only parents can give and that she had never felt in her life.
âYou know what? Weâre going to go back, and weâre going to spend a few more days with those people. We could even ask them if they would like to come with us on our journey back.â
âBut..â She started.
Killian stopped her with the raise of one finger. âIf it turns out that they really are your parents, well, youâll have more time to understand why they decided to abandon you when you were just a baby. And only after that, weâll choose if we hate them or not. Sounds fair?â
She didnât move for a few minutes, dwelling on his words, but then she put a hand on his bionic one, and even if she knew he couldnât feel it, she squeezed it with gratitude. Thank you for bearing this weight with me. She would have liked to say the words, but they didnât come. She didnât have the strength to analyze why he was doing this for her. Too many feelings for one night, to face new and unfamiliar ones. âOkay.â was what she finally said.

A random post about my ideas for weapons in The Unconquered Son. Itâs a bit long so hereâs a Read More
if nothing else, The Unconquered Son will have some interesting weapons, including but not limited to:
Black Powder Guns made by the gun witches (theyâre a faction in the setting, and the main creators of black powder guns) with some premium options for ensorcelled weaponry and munitions. An enchanted weapon is SUPER expensive, an enchanted bullet, much less so. Basic black powder guns are relatively cheap and easy to come by.
THE UNMATCHED POWER OF THE SUN. ie the sunguns used by the Solar Empire. These are mostly âenergy weaponâ type things and use the light of the sun to purify (incinerate) those who would stand against the Empire. They are laser/plasma type weapons, in essence. You have to believe in the Solar Patriarch to actually use them, however. ( the Vanquished Sonâs power, is of a far more entropic variety, though)
Cryz Weapons. These weapons used the crystallized essence of the spheres as their blade, hitting edge, or even as a focusing crystal or the end of a crossbow bolt/arrow. Theyâre very much in the realm of âelementalâ things, and yes I am being heavily inspired by Skies of Arcadia. The basic elements will probably be more or less the same, though I am taking creative license and making âwindâ stuff just be explosion. I think thatâs better. So something along the lines of Toxic, Fire, Electricity, Ice, Explosion damages. Itâs a bit under-developed but so is the whole of the setting and system at this point.
Caster Guns. Yes, like in Outlaw Star, because the idea was very, very cool and they just kind of only really used it in like, 3 episodes. Uses cartridges that contain pre-cast spells. Probably will be something invented by the wizards.
Clockwork weapons that can have a pretty broad range of effects, ranging from much higher fire rates compared to standard weapons to combi-weapon shenanigans (like Bloodborneâs trick weapons, somewhat) to powered systems like chainsaw teeth or pistons etc.
Transmutational Weapons - A wide array of weapons that all essentially weaponize alchemic (?) equations, these weapons range from molten spike throwers, to devices that spray clouds of energy, to ones that overwhelm and âshutdownâ enemyâs brains via triggering every nervous stimuli at once. While inherently powerful these weapons are dangerous to the user in the extreme, if their alchemical seal is ever broken or marred they can backfire terribly, causing any number of esoteric mishaps.

Planetary Sistems and Other Dimensions
I WILL GO INTO MORE DETAILS IN THE FUTURE - EACH SYSTEM IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POST -maybe-
All these Planetary Systems are found in our Milky Way. The standard reference star map used is from the eyes of an observer of Hike (now Magix). Also the "common" language the Hikeinian language, although everyone calls it "common".
They're like ... 21 planets (and not really all are planets) habitables in 7 planetary systems (or 22 and 8, if we count Earth). THIS IS WHAT WAR DOES. This is why the Magic Realm Council has so much freedom and powers.
Like, there is even a rule that said the extent of space travel is limited to the galaxy itself as a precaution. Until all their internal messes become sorted out (never, are still dealing with the aftermath of the Ancestral Witches, per Arcadia!) or foreign civilizations contact first.
If there are two races on the same planet that markedly differ morphologically, it is most likely that one of them - or even both - are refugees from now places unsuitable for living.
Each planet has its own language and each planetary system has another one, so on average a person can know up to 3 languages. Ie: Stella could only talks solarian, hikeinian/common and reticulumian (well, as a coincidence she also speaks callistian). Yes, some races also have their own language, but at this points is considered a cultural treasure and a secret code between them.
Reticulum Solar System
Solaria. In same system are Callisto, Hoggar and Pyros (actually a moon of Hoggar. It has three suns, Valeria, Lumenia and Atsukia* (That âsunâ).
Hercules Solar System
Domino. In same system are Dolona and Oppositus. Their sun is SaulÄ.
Once a planet called Larisa was here.
Lacerta Solar System
Magix ( in the asteroid belt of the destroyed planet Hike)
As Iâve already said, Magix, itâs where the top schools are located, is an asteroid in a belt, in the remains of Planet Hike, from which it formed. It is a neutral location and home to the Magic Realm Council. Another place considered neutral is Lymphea which is the only other habitable place in that same Solar System after the Intergalactic War.
It has no moon, although the sadly now uninhabitable planet Marigold which Lynphea revolves around is near and looks like a moon if you don't know what you're seeing.
Lake Rocaluce It occupies 1/3 of the place and is where a great meteor was invoked and caused the fracture of the planet (and the end of a war, an interRealm war that Hika hosted, but that was long before even the Ancient Witches, Just after Legendarium times. The schools are placed around him in eternal memory it... Although... most of the people no longer remember...
Magix (the city) was founded by the weary survivors of this war and they too formed the Magic Realms Council, with their sede in the Fortress of Light that hangs above Lake Roccaluce.
LympheaÂ
Actually a moon from a planet called Marigold because their yellowlike coloration. Marigold has four others moons. In the whole system, once full of life in all their planet an most of their satelites via terraforming, only Lymphea, which started as a colony, remains prosperous.
Their sun is Arinnitti or Arinna for short.
Phoenix Solar System
Terra (Earth). In Magix, their/our sun is called Phoebus.
Eridanus Solar System
Melody. In same system are Ohm and Espero. Their sun is called Teruama.
Bootes Solar System
Eraklyon. In same system are Romulea, Thordal, Karunda, and Isis (Diasproâs home and Eraklyon moon). Their suns are called Mitra and Surya.
Monoceros Solar System
Titania and Zenith (two moons) around an uninhabitable planet called Xemia with its sun called Maeva.
Is this a joke to the Comic-Animation contradiction? Yes it is. No shame.
Cassiopeia Solar System
AndrosÂ
At least eight moons! A moons for each royal in Andros or maybe I must add more???? Oh, and there are Androsians colonies on the moons. Especially terraformed for farmlands.
Omega
A planet that who says its dead says its Hungry, where ley lines for some reason absorb magic instead of generating it, perfect for locking magic people up. And cold because it is farthest from the sun in their solar system. And it has hardly any atmosphere, in fact, prisoners are recommended to stay in the tunnels.
In same system is Serenia. They only have one sun, Utu.
OTHER DIMENSIONS
Golden Kingdom AND Relix/Realix are the same, Iâve already talk about it.
Light & Dark Dimensions are cancelled.
The Wishing Star come from the Ethereal Plane of Magic.
Omega is a planet, read above.
Oblivion, Obsidian and Limbo are the same, now called: Boundless Oblivion
It is a fine liminal dimension superimposed on ours full of "nothing", which is used as a prison for the worst criminals. There is no concept of time or space or, well anything in it. Here you go crazy, and you can not use magic, but you are not hungry or thirsty, there is only you and your thoughts.
As it is superimposed on ours, it could theorically also be used to go from one place to another but like move through that dimension without someone pulling you from the outside? Impossible.
You prefer that the Magic Council send you Omega, not mention Rocaluce Fortress.
Infinite Ocean
Where there is black, there is white, where there is nothing, there is something. The Infinite Ocean is the opposite liminal dimension of the Boundless Oblivion one. Full of life in their neutral form, therefore of water, connecting the entire universe in an almost pocket dimension, with the right magic, you can use it as a bridge to go anywhere... or damage anywhere.
It was from here that the Old Witches destroyed Domino and managed to curse the Mermaidix, which was the form Daphne was using when she confronted them because she was still learning how to use the Nymphix that had just been given to her.
You can enter with any aquatic transformation -freshwater or salty-, but people didn't know what transformation was cursed and no one was going to risk themselves to know it.
MiniWorlds and Legendarium as dimensions are cancelled, Iâve already talk about them
Planes or Dimensions of the Ethereals: Plane of Magic, Plane of Death, Plane of Dreams
