I often participate in many little events where people have to produce a song within a specific time frame, and after everything, it's all put together in a big compilation album that's revealed through a listening party on Discord.

And like. The chats are always fucking going crazy during that time. They're spamming gifs of people dancing, cats going fucking haywire, sped up footage, and if there's an especially ethereal moment in the song, they post fitting gifs. I even got people to regularly spam a gif of my own creation that's just "HARDCORE JUMPSCARE" written in flaming text from cooltext.com

This? This is fun! You just. Listen to people's songs, go apeshit at the drops, and when you're song comes on, you're happy that people go apeshit at the drops! These sorts of events is where most of my music comes from nowadays, because it's fun - whether it be the time constraint or the listening party.

Thinking about how Harumi as a character represents consequences. Her entire existence recontextualizes the finale of season 1. You watch the Oni Trilogy and you'll never see that battle the same way again. You see the Devourer weaving through buildings and you can't help but wonder which one was her apartment. The Ninja are cheering and hugging and celebrating their victory and elsewhere in the city a little girl is mourning everything she's ever cared about. Harumi's existence means that the show can no longer pretend that its villains are not causing real harm. You can't watch flaming snakes rain from the sky and pretend that no one got burnt. You can't watch the city flood and pretend no one drowned. The casualties can no longer be overlooked with vague "it's a kid's show" excuses, because they dared to show us a direct example of someone dying on the Ninja's watch.
