Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were walking through the castle halls with your best friend, Cedric Diggory, wearing a blue sundress with your hair down and a ribbon holding two stands behind your head.
There were no classes today, so you decided to put on some light makeup as well and were taking a walk to the kitchens with Cedric.
"One day in the summer you need come over to my cottage, I can teach you how to bake," you announce, looking up at him as he drapes his arm around your shoulders.
"Hmm, I don't know if that would end well," he paused as he glanced down at you. "The last time you tried to bake with the house elves, you set the kitchen on fire," he laughs as he recalls you begging the house elves not to tell anyone.
"Okay that's not fair and you know it. You helped-"
"Y/n!"
You and Cedric turn around to see a smiling Draco Malfoy walking towards you both. His smile turns into a scowl as he sees Cedric's arm around you.
He quickly covers the jealousy with a charming smile as he looks back at your eyes that he adores.
"What now, Malfoy," Cedric sighs, already knowing what was going to happen.
Draco Malfoy was seen as rude to most people. So it was quite a shock to everyone when he asked you, a half-blood hufflepuff, out to hogsmeade for the first time in third year. You politely declined his offer because of some past encounters with him.
Although he has never said anything offensive to you, he has to your friends.
Your rejection didn't stop Draco from asking again. If anything, it made him want you more.
Ever since then, he has asked you out almost every week. Each time you rejected him, but it still didn't stop him.
Two years later he found himself in love with you. He has tried to get over you, but he can't picture himself with anyone that isn't you. If you were to ask him what he loved most about you, it would take more than a day to list everything. He grew up without much love, except from his mother, so it was a rather odd feeling when he first started to fancy you.
The first time he had gotten some hope for the two of you was when you had agreed to go to the yule ball with him last year. He thanked Merlin and almost cried of happiness. It was most definitely the best night of his life. You two had ended up almost kissed but were interrupted by Snape.
Back to present time, he asked if he could speak to you in private. Cedric looked over at you to make sure it was okay, you nodded and told him you would join him in a few minutes.
Draco gently grabbed your hand and pulled you into an empty classroom.
“You look so beautiful, darling” he compliments as you feel yourself lightly blushing as you avoids his eyes.
You should be use to the compliments by now since he gives them several times a day, but that doesn’t stop your cheeks from turning a light pink shade each time. He finds it adorable and hopes to be the only one to have the affect on you.
“Thank you, what is it you wanted to talk about?”
“Look, you know how much I fancy you- the whole bloody school knows. I- I just want you to give me one chance, love. If you truly don’t feel the same way about me than I’ll accept that,” he starts, his voice growing quieter as he leans towards your face.
“Please, sweetheart,” he whispers, his eyes dropping to your beautiful rosy lips as you gently pull the bottom one in between your teeth in thought.
“Um... okay, you whisper with a small nod and smile.
He froze, before the biggest smile makes its way to his face. His lips brush against yours as he asks if it’s okay for him to kiss you.
You respond by gently pressing your warm lips to his slightly cold ones. He warps his arm around your waist pulling you closer to him as the other hand is holding your cheek. You run your hands through his hair and gently tug, getting a light groan from him.
You slowly pull back as you look at him in awe. His hair messy, his tie loose around his neck, his cheeks tinted red, his stunning eyes bright, and his lips slightly swollen.
“You are very pretty, you know,” you blurt out, turning your head in slight embarrassment.
He gently grabs your face and tilts your head so you’re looking at him. “Thats all you, angel. My pretty girl,” he whispers to you.
You peck his lips before slowly kissing down his jaw, trailing your mouth down his neck. Your gentle butterfly kisses and your teeth grazing his skin get some more low groans from him.
“As much as I’m enjoying this, love, if you keep doing that, you’re not going to be leaving this room anytime soon,” he grins.
You trail your lips back up to his, giving a quick peck before taking two steps back. “You’re right, I have forgotten about how I was supposed to go back to Cedric, do I look okay?”
“You look perfect as always, darling,” he replies while watching you straighten your hair with your hands.
“I don’t know you what you see in Diggory anyways”
“Oh knock it off,” you laugh hitting his shoulder as you start walking to the door.
“I’ll see you at dinner, yeah?”
“Mhm, bye Draco,” you smile at the boy, giving him one last look over.
Tumblr media
As Draco enters the common room, he finds his best friend, Blaise Zabini, doing some potions work on the couch.
He walks over and drops onto the couch next to him. Blaise glances up, back at his paper, and then whips his head to the boy when he takes in his state.
"I- what have you been doing"
"You'll never guess, mate," Draco sighs dreamily recalling your kiss.
"Does it happen to do with a certain cute hufflepuff that you happen to be obsessed with?"
"Maybe, and I am not obsessed with her"
"And I enjoy doing potions homework"
"You told me you did," Draco lies.
"No I didn't"
"Yes, you did"
"No, I didn't"
"Yes, you did"
"No, I didn't!"
"No, you didn't"
"Yes, I did!"
"Aha!" Draco grins in victory.
Blaise rolls his eyes, "did you two kiss?"
"Maybe we did, maybe we didn't," Draco shrugs.
"Good for you, it took long enough"
Tumblr media
A few months later, you and Draco were a happy couple and were so close to one another. Since that day you first kissed, he somehow found a way to be with you almost all of the time.
You two were sitting on the grass outside, you both sneaked out, and Draco was showing you the constellation that he was named after.
He suddenly turned and tickled your stomach as you fell backwards laughing.
"D- Draco! St- op, I c- an't breathe! L- let me go-" You laugh as he gives you a few seconds to take some breaths.
"Never, sweetheart," he says rolling on top of you.
"Get off of me you oaf!" You giggle trying to push him off of you.
"Let me think about that, hmm... how about no," he says pecking your lips.
You then flip the both of you so you were now straddling him as your hair surrounding your faces. You lean down and kiss him softly. Pulling back slowly, his lips follow you and you lightly laugh. You look at him with such love and wonder how you got so lucky.
Draco happens to be thinking the same thing as he kisses to again and rests his forehead on yours.
"I love you," he whispers.
"I love you more," you whisper back.
"Not possible, love"

Heaven Above - Draco x Reader
Prompt: Draco finds you late at night in the astronomy tower, set during 5-6th year.
Pairing: Draco x Slytherin!Reader
Tumblr media
On black nights where the air stood still and the sky was littered with flashing bulbs of hope she came and sat on the highest peak of the astronomy tower. Her legs were curled against her chest, squeezed uncomfortably tight by her frail arms. It was cold; not cold enough to shiver but cold enough to sit and ponder in thoughts that swirled within them the very galaxy.
Of course, she wasn’t allowed up here so late - no one was. It was so much like a game, one of the only thrills she partook in. It was worth it for her, even if she were to get caught; but she never did, not by wandering prefects, not by professors or other misbehaving students. Never by them.
She was caught by the moon, and the stars, and creatures watching from the forest she wasn’t aware of. But she was aware of the moon, aware of the planets and the yearning which pulled her closer, which made her twinkling eyes widen just that little bit more, made her inhale just that little bit deeper and made her nostalgic for lifetimes ago that she never really experienced.
It was the sort of magic the professors never taught, the sort of magic which had no history books or lessons to attend or true believers. Magic from another world, so much more fragile and fussy than the magic which spouted from her wand. It took tender love and peculiar attention for this magic to blossom; the kind which granted wishes made on stars and pleas blown on dandelions.
Y/N let her legs dangle along the edge, fighting the cold stone against her skin. She planted her palms firmly next to her hips and she pondered on her own self and the foreboding which wrapped her in chills. She imagined she was the dandelion, and her petals were blown to be forever spread across the cosmos, never to be seen again.
'Don't get too close to the edge lest you fall,'
She heard the familiar voice of Draco echo around the tower and into the distantness of the night. She pressed her lips into a thin line, and slowly turned to see the blonde boy standing with posture so rigid and his blue gaze piercing through the darkness.
She met his gaze, her own expression unreadable. 'Malfoy,' she acknowledged, taken aback from the unexpected company.
Y/N and Draco had spent the entirety of their schooling at Hogwarts in the same house, exchanging glances and polite nothings.
In second year, the glances became longing and stares became more noticeable. Polite exchanges became longer and their seats in the great hall grew closer. Their friends became mutual and late night study in the library turned into giggles.
In third year their hands brushed each others during potions class, receiving unapproving looks from Snape. Weekends were spent with butter beer moustaches and unexpected flowers plucked from gardens.
In fourth year Draco asked Y/N to the Yule Ball and she was sorry to tell him that a Durmstrang boy had already asked her and she had said yes. Draco watched that year as she danced the night away with another boy, his heart heavy with unspoken emotions.
His eyes held the same look now as they did that night and she saw his face heavy with grief as the moonlight illuminated his features, 'Y/L/N,'
She motioned for him to join her, a flicker of sympathy softening her features even more - as if he didn't melt her just by being a flame.
Draco joined her on the cold floor of the astronomy tower, the moon bathing them in her light. For a moment, they simply sat in silence, legs swinging in the tension, taking in the breathtaking view of the night sky stretched out before them.
'It's beautiful, isn't it?' Y/N murmured, her voice barely above a breathy whisper as she gazed to the stars.
Draco nodded in agreement, sneaking a glance of Y/N's side profile. He noted how flushed her lips were from the cold, how rosy she was and how the scent in her long hair enveloped them in peonies and myrtle with the gentle blows of the wind.
'Why are you out here?'
'I could ask you the same thing,'
'That’s true,' she smiled, 'But I asked you first,'
Draco couldn't help but return her smile, he always had a soft spot for her. 'I just needed some air,' he admitted, his tone laced with a reserve that hinted against his own words. 'Now you,'
'I just needed some air,' Y/N parroted, a glint of mischief lighting her up momentarily as they both let out a slight chuckle. She laid her heavy head on the willing shoulder next to her and he relished in her touch.
Draco felt a rush of warmth flood through him as Y/N mirrored his words, her playfulness always brought a sense of lightness to the atmosphere and he wishes he could selfishly lock her into a box, all for himself.
'Do you remember the first time we snuck out of the castle together?' he asked suddenly, breaking the tranquil silence that had settled between them. It was a moment he had buried deep within himself, yet it resurfaced now in the stillness.
Y/N lifted her head from his shoulder, looking at him inquisitively. 'How could I forget?' she replied, her voice filled with amusement. 'It seems like life times ago now,' she remembered, of course she remembered.
She let out a heavy sigh upon the resurgence of buried memories, her gaze faltering to the twiddling thumbs in her lap. Her watering eyes met his and she couldn’t help but let out a sob, her eyes fluttering with embarrassment.
'What happened to us?' She breathed out shakily.
Draco reached out instinctively, his thumb brushing away her tears as he met her gaze with an unwavering intensity. 'I wish I knew,' he admitted softly, his voice tinged with regret.
With a lingering kiss on her forehead. Y/N leaned into his touch, seeking comfort in his warmth as she struggled to compose herself. She reached out to rub his forearm to comfort him too but Draco had flinched, frantically pulling the white sleeves of his shirt down. And with a silent knowing glance, she knew exactly what happened to them.

Draco Malfoy is a hopeless romantic, and i don’t care if people disagree. He’s such a great person to the person he loves.
You guys can’t tell me that Draco’s love language isn’t physical touch. Like sure gift giving is definitely a second, but physical is number one. He just can’t keep his hands off of you.
But that love language is ONLY given to you. Because he absolutely hates the thought of having his hands remotely close to anyone who isn’t you.
So being at a party, his hand on your lower back. Or being in class, both of his hands holding one of yours. His full weight laid on top of you, face buried into your neck when sleeping.
And, he always smelt like you and you always smelt like him. Your smells mixing, and becoming one of your own scents you shared together.
It’s not like he was clingy to the point it was overwhelming, he was just the right amount. And he knew how to make it so subtle.
As for his gift giving, it’s all meaningful it’s not just random gifts. They’re all meaningful, each and every one of them.
Say he finds out you like strawberries, then he would buy a small strawberry plant just for you. Or he gives you a super expensive locket necklace, and it stores a piece of the first flower that he has ever gotten you. He would even read a book you did, just so you can vent to him about it.
Sure he may seem like a heartless rich kid, but deep down he really knows how to show someone he loves them.
You hadn’t known how sweet and thoughtful he could actually be, until you started dating him. Even just the way he looks at you, it’s as if you could see the love in his eyes.
At a party, already having one too many drinks. He gives you a cup full of water leaning down to meet your eyes.
‘You getting tired yet?’ he asks, slight teasing in his tone. You smile nodding, his eyes so sweet. No one but you got to enjoy that look in his eyes.
You chug down the water he gave you, handing him the halfway full cup of liquor. He downs it, throwing the small cup away.
‘I think we can leave’ You yell at him, he grins guiding you out of the party saying bye to everyone you guys knew on the way out.
It felt like no one would believe you, if you had said Draco Malfoy was the most perfect boyfriend. For merlin’s sake, after your first date he kept your order from the three broomsticks in his wallet. After a while he had just memorized it, but he still kept the paper because he felt it meant too much to just throw it away.
He could be the definition of a person in love. He always went over the top for dates, and made sure they were perfect. It was weird in the sense that, he used to be so cruel and hate everyone (pretty much still does).
But you soon came to realize, he was excited to show his love to someone who actually wanted it. For the life of me, i can’t and won’t bring myself to believe Draco Malfoy would be a bad boyfriend. I just can’t do it. Because even though he’s been portrayed as the “bully and mean kid”, i don’t think he’d be that way to someone he truly loved and cherished.

The Kitchens (My Sunshine - Part 2)
Tumblr media
Word Count: 2000 almost exactly
Warnings: Swearing? (If it bothers you), mentions of sexual activity(barely)
Summary: You sneak into the kitchens for a late night snack, but you bump into someone on the way...
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6.
--------------------------------
It was around 2:16 am in the morning. You couldn't sleep at all. There was just too many things going on in your mind, this year you felt all the pressure coming back in a rush. You were a sixteen year old girl in Hogwarts, fifth year was something you weren't looking forward to very much, I mean you were only 2 weeks in so far. It seemed like this year would be full of boredom. I mean first year was great, everything was new and all, especially for a muggleborn like you, it was all an adventure. Second and third year was all about making new friends and mucking around, Fourth year was all about the excitement of Yule ball and the Triwizard tournaments. Fifth year needed to be real drama filled for it to top last year.
You glanced back at your clock again. 2:23 am. You groaned in frustration, it must've been your period or something, but you were suddenly craving those little French macarons you remember tasting when the Beauxbatons students had come over last year. Surely they would have some in the kitchens still?
You were about to find out. You couldn't sleep anyway, a small snack at this time of night wouldn't hurt?
You quietly shifted yourself out of bed, wincing as the cold air hit your warm skin. You quickly threw on your favourite blue hoodie that was oversized. You slipped on your fluffy muggle slippers that your parents had gifted you and headed out the dorm room quietly; careful not to wake Hannah up.
After you had exited your dorm room, you grabbed the claw clip inside the pocket of your hoodie and clipped up your hair. You slowly made your way up to the kitchens, your craving for any sweet little treats growing stronger with each step. Determination filled your veins as you quickened your pace in search of the kitchens.
Finally you arrived at the kitchens, you started searching through the cupboards and looking for anything that could satisfy your cravings. You sighed in content as you found the large cupboard full of your favourite muggle sweet treats, macarons, tarts, muffins, muesli bars, chocolate fingers. Grabbing your desired treats, you placed them on the counter and opened them, the plastic wrap making an awful lot of noise.
"Hungry?" You heard a voice behind you and you froze. It was a deep attractive voice.
You turned around, the warm candles of the kitchen illuminated his face perfectly. Draco Malfoy was talking to you. You stood there for a while, trying to think of how else to answer his question. You were usually a really talkative person who could give good comebacks, so seeing yourself tongue tied around him was odd.
"What the fuck do you want Malfoy?" You spat out shocked at how toxic your voice sounded.
"Woah, feisty." he chuckled. God why is his laugh so attractive. "I was just wondering what you were doing in the kitchens at this time of night" he shrugged.
"I could ask you the same question" you shot back at him without a second thought. You were quite good at that. "I'm just hungry okay? And my cramps are killing me." You said in a slightly whiny voice as your period cramps started to kick in once again.
"Cramps?" he said, and you swear you saw a flash of concern in his eyes. But as soon as you noticed it, it disappeared.
"Yeah. My period cramps." you said, not awkward about the topic.; it was normal
"So that's why you have a hoard of sweets in front of you. Mind if I have some?" Draco eyed at your treats. You defensively covered them with your arms. Why was he even talking to you? It's not like he has ever shown interest in you before. the only time you two ever spoke to each other is if you needed to in class. What was he even doing here.
"No. I found it, go find your own food." you retorted playfully.
"Alright, alright" He put his hands up in defeat and left to find something. He came back with two muffins in his hand.
"Walnut and coffee" he said as he handed you one of the muffins in his hand. You were feeling a bit curious, so you took the walnut and coffee flavoured muffin out of his hand cautiously. You took a few bites of it and furrowed your brows. Why does it actually taste really good?
"Like it? They're my favourite muffins" he said, as he inspected your facial expressions while eating the muffin.
You didn't answer him, you just looked at him with confusion.
"Draco why are you even talking to me? Don't you have this big thing about not talking to Hufflepuffs, let alone Muggleborn ones?"
----------------------------
Draco's POV
"Hungry?" I asked the girl as I watched her freeze in her place.
Y/n turned around, and stood there for a while. I'd never really talked to her much, I never had anything to say to her, but I did find it particularly amusing to find her roaming the kitchens at this ungodly hour, with snacks laid all over the counter.
"What the fuck do you want Malfoy?" she spat at me. I knew she didn't like me, but I didn't think it would cause such a reaction at just the sight of me. Sure I had made fun of her friends in the past, but I had never insulted her personally. I had respect for her, plus this year I've a change of heart, I want to be a better person, for many different reasons, I'm was just sick of being a stuck up prick.
"Woah, feisty." I chuckled. "I was just wondering what you were doing in the kitchens at this time of night" I shrugged.
"I could ask you the same question" she shot back at me with a glare. "I'm just hungry okay? And my cramps are killing me."
"Cramps?" I said. I was genuinely confused, and I must admit when y/n said that I did get a bit worried, though I didn't know why. I had no reason to care about her after all.
"Yeah. My period cramps." Ah, that made more sense. I knew a little bit about girls on their periods. They were usually moody, hungry, and had cramps often. That's what Blaise told me anyway.
"So that's why you have a hoard of sweets in front of you. Mind if I have some?" I looked at the treats that she was defending.
"No. I found it, go find your own food." she retorted. She's probably confused why I'm talking to her.
"Alright, alright" I went to the pantries to find some treats that I might like. Walnut and Coffee, my favourite. I grabbed two just in case y/n wanted to try some.
"Walnut and coffee" I said as I handed her one of the muffins. "Like it? They're my favourite muffins" I said. She showed no facial expression, so I wasn't quite sure if she was enjoying it or not. She wasn't spitting it our in disgust, so I figured that she found it tolerable at the least.
She was quick to change the subject.
"Draco why are you even talking to me? Don't you have this big thing about not talking to Hufflepuffs, let alone Muggleborn ones?"
Draco. I wasn't too sure why she was calling me that. It was sort of nice to have someone call me by my first name, most people usually just spat out my last name.
I thought about her question. Why was I talking to her? I mean, I could've just walked past her and carried on with my patrol, but instead I joined her. I did need her help though, but right now didn't seem like an appropriate time. She was having cramps and was probably really hungry. Plus I don't think I want to mess with this girl on her period. I was enjoying her company though, as much as I wish I wasn't.
"Well I guess my opinions have changed. I think you'll find that I don't mind people from other houses now. I think I'm quite fond of muggleborns now actually." I wasn't lying. I waited for y/n to respond. She just gasped dramatically.
"Draco? Fond of muggleborns? His father must be hearing about this!" And she burst into a fit of laughter. Her laugh was pretty, I can't deny, it's quite contagious too. I ended up joining in with her laughter. She was a nice person to be around, from what I knew she didn't have any enemies at this school.
----------------------
Your POV
You and Draco chatted for a while in the kitchens. You sort of forgot about how stuck up he was, and just started talking to him like he was one of your friends. You started to think that he actually wasn't that bad at all. I mean maybe he has changed like he said so.
You let out a yawn, and he yawned a few seconds after.
"I think I'm going to go back to my dorms" you giggled "It's like 3:30 am"
"Yeah you probably should go back to sleep" He paused for a while "Do you want me to drop you off to your dorm?"
You were a bit shocked by his kind gesture. I mean Draco being kind to you was a shock in itself, him talking to you was even more shocking, but walking you to your dorm? That seemed a bit fishy in your opinion, but maybe he was genuinely being kind. You hoped he was.
"Uhh" you contemplated what you were about to say next. "Sure I guess". He flashed you a small smile, and the two of you walked towards the Hufflepuff dorms in silence.
"I've never been to the Hufflepuff area of Hogwarts" Draco said, breaking the silence. "It's quite nice"
"Yeah I guess it is" You said.
"I've been to every other houses common room and dorm areas, but not Hufflepuff. It's probably because I've never slept with a Hufflepuff girl yet" He chuckled. He was probably hoping that you were going to laugh at the joke too, but instead he watched your face contort into a grimace. You didn't know how to reply to that, talking so openly about the girls that he has slept with was a bit disgusting in your opinion. Though it did make you wonder how good he was in bed.
"I don't do that anymore y/n" he said a bit quieter, he probably noticed that you found it a bit awkward "I used to, but I've changed". You believed him, he did seem like a different person now.
"I believe you" you stated. Then you reached your dorm room. "I guess this is goodnight then"
"Yeah, I had a good time y/n" he admitted, "See you around, goodnight". His kindness once again took you by surprise, and he smiled at you. Softly, but it was genuine. Smiles suited him well.
"Goodnight Draco" You said, and you closed the door as you walked into your dorm.
He found it odd that you were still calling him by his first name. He wasn't complaining.
You walked further into the dorm room, you were still recovering from your encounter with Draco. You didn't like him like that did you? Then why were you feeling hot all of a sudden? Gosh he was charming, and he was funny, but why does he all of a sudden have a change of heart? You were full of questions, hoping they'd be answered.

Silver Lining
f!reader x Draco Malfoy, a little bit of f!reader x Blaise at the beginning
Summary: Blaise Zabini is a dickhead, and you wish you would have seen it sooner. But someone else is here to help you through the damage he caused.
Warnings: Swearing, NSFW themes
A/N - Hello! If this post gets up to 15 likes a Chapter 2 will be posted! Please leave a comment if you have any suggests for this writing or other writings, I would love to hear from you guys!
In the beginning, everything was perfect. No one really knew how a Ravenclaw girl like you ended up dating a slytherin boy like Blaise, but you two didn’t care. He would take you out on dates to hogsmeade, give you small gifts, talk with you for hours, and even gave you the password for the slytherin common room. Not that you ever needed the password, because you always went there with him. He took pride in you being his girlfriend, showing his friends pictures of you two, calling you ‘his girl’, ‘darling’, ‘my love’. In the beginning, everything was perfect.
Until it wasn’t.
Slowly but surely, Blaise stopped hanging out with you. It started with fewer dates and less time talking together in his dorm, then turned into no dates. He stopped inviting you over. You two still talked in classes and the halls, but then he started ignoring you. Everywhere. “Hey Blaise do you maybe wanna hango—” you started, only for him to walk right by you. You were so upset that you turned around and ran away, missing the blonde boys head that had turned to look at you. “What?” Blaise said.
“Nothing.” The blonde one had replied.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You were fed up. It had been two weeks of Blaise ignoring you, and you were done crying over it. At least knowing the Slytherin common room password would be useful now. You stormed to the dungeons and made your way into the common rooms. As you approached Blaise’s dorm door, a voice stopped you. “I wouldn’t go in there if I were you.” Ah. Draco Malfoy, one of Blaise’s friends you had mostly seen in passing. “Why not?” You asked firmly.
“You’re going to get hurt. If you walk through that door, your relationship is over.” You simply stared at the boy. You weren’t an idiot, you knew what he was implying was in there. But you weren’t going to let that stop you. “Maybe I want the relationship to be over.” You said, and reached for the door handle.
shit
You knew what to expect, but it still hurt like a bitch. There, on the bed you and Blaise had spend hours talking about life in, was him and Pansy fucking. He didn’t even notice you at first, continuing to thrust himself into her, until he followed her worried gaze to the door. “SHIT” he yelled, “this isn’t what it looks like, it’s a mistake! I don’t love her, she came to me first!” He continued to yell excuses at you, but you couldn’t even hear anything. It was like everything was in slow motion. You glanced from Pansy trying to hide herself under the sheets to Blaise, walking towards you while also trying to put his boxers back on. He reached out for your arm as you snapped back to reality and pulled yourself away, but not quick enough. He held your arm with a steel grip, looking up at you.
“I told you it was a mistake! Pansy means nothing to me! Just forgive me already, we are still boyfriend and girlfriend after all.” He said, with a smirk at that last part.
“Let go of me you bitch. We are done.” You said, trying your best to remain calm. “No the fuck we aren’t. You don’t get to dump me.” Blaise responded, his tone sending chills don’t your spine. “Blaise fuck off and let her go. You fucked up this time, and you still have another girl in your bed waiting for you.” Draco appeared out of nowhere, grabbing Blaise’s arm that was still on yours.
“Fuck you Draco” he said, but he still let you go and turned to Pansy. You couldn’t keep yourself up for much longer. You ran to the girls bathroom, the one no one ever goes in because of moaning murtle. You ran in, then collapsed on the floor sobbing. When did things go wrong? Everything seemed so right until out of nowhere Blaise changed. Maybe I’m the problem, you thought, and no matter how hard you tried to push that thought away it kept coming back. You weren’t sure how long you sat there for until you heard a voice.
“I’m sorry Blaise did that. He’s a total dickhead.” It was Draco. You sniffed, trying to pull yourself together, “Do - Do you know why he did it? Why he cheated on me?”
“No, but I wish I did. He lost his relationship with the perfect girl just because he wanted to get his dick wet.”
You laughed lightly and stood up. “I’m sure you already know who I am from Blaise, but let’s pretend that bastard never introduced us. I’m y/n. It’s nice to meet you.”
“I’m Malfoy. Draco, Malfoy. Are you up for plotting for revenge in the library with me?”
You smirked at this. Although you doubted you were done crying over Blaise forever, you had cried enough right now. A certain type of rage filled you, one that could only be satisfied with revenge. “I would love to, Malfoy.”

Drunk Confessions

To Draco Lucius Malfoy, Autumn Lilith Snape was the sun to his moon. She was bright just like the sun that hung above. Though she wasn't a Slytherin, as one might expect from Severus Snape's only daughter. She has instead been placed in Hufflepuff, something that while shocking at first, once you got to know her you would see why. She was a positive ball of energy, always smiling and so kind. Yet when someone threatened her or her friends, another side came out of her. Draco could recall a time a couple of years ago when something had happened it had been in their third year.
                                                Three Years Ago
Ever since Autumn sorted into Hufflepuff at their sorting three years ago, Draco had heard snickers about her. Members of Slytherin weren't happy that their head of House's daughter was sorted into a house that was deemed lower, far lower than even Gryffindor. They would whisper this among themselves and it took everything in Draco not to teach them a lesson. He had to remind himself not to interfere, yet things seemed to get worse.
Draco had just gotten out of a class when he could have sworn he heard voices. While normally not one to care about others, when Draco heard her voice he saw it as if something he might need to interfere with. Draco stuck around, making sure not to be seen as he saw that three Slytherins, including Pansy Parkinson, were holding bottled water and smirking in Autumn's direction. "It's time to teach you a lesson seeing as you are a disgrace as Snape's daughter." Pansy uncapped the water along with her goons and Draco was about to interfere, when he saw that Autumn wasn't scared, in fact she had a Slytherin smirk on her face.
  "Are you sure you want to do that to me?"
  "Positive," Pansy said as she got ready to toss the water.
  "Fine, it's your funeral then," Autumn said as she pulled out her wand and pointed it to Pansy first. "Wingardium Leviosa." At this, Pansy began to go up in the air as she was trying to keep her clothes down. Not only that but was scared when she looked down. "Now Pansy, you have two choices, you stop this nonsense and I can let you down or I do what I please and not let you down. Your choice."
"You wouldn't dare, you are just a little Hufflepuff, not threat," Pansy said.
  "Oh okay, then I suppose you wouldn't mind if I put you somewhere else," Autumn said as she carried Pansy to a nearby torch bracket as she carefully places Pansy there the sound of the skirt ripping as it touched the edge. With a flick of Autumn's wand, she summoned a pillow. "Have fun hanging around for now." Pansy goons seeing this seemed to have left, as their bottle of water was now abandoned. As Draco watched this, he was happy. While Draco could be an ass at times, he never went as far as Pansy went. He watched as Pansy cried for help, but nobody helped her until she fell onto the pillow, and while Pansy's butt hurt, she was fine by the end of this.
                                                              Present
That was the first time Draco had seen that side of Autumn and he couldn't say he didn't like it, making him wonder why she wasn't in Slytherin. Over the next two years, Draco would discover more sides to Autumn, more sides he found to love. Thus leading him to where he was. It was a hosted Slytherin party that had some alcohol that the Weasleys had snuck in. Autumn had been drinking and was currently swaying around, yet even with that, she was the life of the party as she always was. She even brought some guys into dancing with her, smiling through it. Seeing this sent a ping of jealousy, as Draco remained everyone had a chance with her, but him. Anyone would be better for her than him because they weren't darkness as he was. She was for the most part a ray of sunshine shining her rays on everyone, but him. Sure, they were friends, but it was unavoidable with how well their father got along. It was so well that though Lucius Malfoy didn't prefer Hufflepuff he didn't hate having his goddaughter in it. Autumn had this ability to win almost everyone over, as she was friends with even older years. Something Draco could never do for the life of him. She was everything he wasn't and seeing her with every guy but wasn't helping him feel any better. The party continued late into the night with Autumn being at the center of it all. As it got into the early hours of the morning, some people started to leave, as soon it was only Autumn and Draco left. Autumn at this point was swaying around drunkenly. Draco was about to head to his dorm when Autumn fell onto him. "Draco?" she asked.
  "Yes, love," Draco responded, knowing she likely wouldn't remember whatever he called her tomorrow.
"Where did everyone go?"
  "They went back to their dorms love."
  "So it's only us *hic*."
 "It seems so."
"Well, why *hic* don't you dance *hic* with me," Autumn asked swaying drunkenly.
"Love you are far too drunk to be able to dance properly, you should be getting some rest."
  "Why won't you *hic* dance with me *hic* Draco? Do you hate *hic* me?"
  "No love, I don't hate you, but I do think that you should be getting some rest."
  "Why?"
  "Well love, you drank quite a lot tonight and you will need some rest, especially with the hangover you will have tomorrow."
 "If I sleep will *hic* you stay with *hic* me," she asked drunkenly. At this, Draco could swear that his heart stopped beating. That offer was everything he had ever wanted, but he couldn't, she probably didn't even mean it. Yet even with this, he pulled her closer to his chest, at this she smiled warmly. "So will you stay *hic* over?"
While it took everything in Draco to decline that offer, he knew he couldn't take it, not with the state she was in. If he did, he would live to regret it from his godfather. "No, because I think you should get some rest Autumn."
At this, Autumn crossed her arms against her chest, pouting as she did so. "You are no *hic* fun Draco. Isn't it enough *hic* that I've been *hic* trying to get *hic* your attention all night?"
"Oh have you," Draco asked in a teasing manner trying to pretend as if his heart wasn't somersaulting hearing this.
  "Yes, I thought if *hic* I kept dancing *hic*. You would want *hic* to join. But I was wrong *hic* you don't like *hic* me the way I *hic* do you," Autumn said as a fake smile appeared on her face. At this, Draco pulled Autumn, who had gotten out of their embrace, back into it holding her closer than he had anyone else in his life.
  "I do more than you will ever know."
"Then why aren't *hic* you doing anything it's *hic* unlike you."
At this, Draco smiled a sad smile. "Because I am afraid of what happens when you realize that there is someone better than me."
"Who would be *hic* better than you *hic*?"
  "Potter, even Weasle-bee, they can give you what you need, because all I bring is darkness," Draco said as heartbreak crept into his voice.
"But I don't *hic* want them. I *hic* want you."
"No, you don't and by tomorrow you will forget this ever happened."
  "Why are you *hic* going to use *hic* Obliviate on me *hic*."
At this, Draco shook his head sadly. "No, I won't need to because I know you will forget this. After all, nobody would pick me, especially you."
"If I did *hic* then what would *hic* you do?"
 "I would tell you it's a mistake."
  "What if it *hic* isn't?"
  "It will be and the sooner you realize the better it'll be."
  "What if you're *hic* wrong?"
  "I'm hardly ever wrong love, now you should get some rest."
At this, Autumn set herself on a couch in the Slytherin common room. "Fine but tomorrow *hic* we will talk *hic* about this promise *hic*." At this, she held out her pinkie as they once did when they were kids. Draco, against everything that said no, took it, knowing she likely wouldn't remember this tomorrow. As he waited for her to fall asleep, only when he heard her stable sleeping did Draco settle in a chair taking off his tie and setting it to the side before taking one last look at Autumn before he closed his eyes...
The Next Day
Draco woke up to the sight of Autumn hovering over him. "Morning," he said his voice filled with sleep. Hardly even up, Autumn swatted his chest.
  "You're an idiot you know."
"Oh, how am I, the great Draco Malfoy, an idiot," Draco asked pretending everything was fine. Even after that had happened the night before. Draco slowly stands up, putting his tie back on. Autumn was now standing on her toes and looking right at him.
"Because you didn't think I loved you. Well, news flash, I do and you can't excuse it this time because I'm sober."
   "How do you remember what happened last night?"
"I don't know, but I am glad I did seeing as you are an idiot. I don't know why I'm in love with such an idiot," Autumn said shaking her head.
   Hearing the words coming from Autumn's mouth was enough and Draco wanted to hear them again. "Say that again."
"I'll say it as many times as you need because clearly if I don't it won't settle into your thick skull. I am in love with you Draco Lucius Malfoy and I want you and only you, happy?"
  "Yes, very happy I would like to show you just how happy I am."
  "Is that so, I wouldn't hate it."
Hearing this Draco got closer to Autumn their lips were almost touching. "Are you sure you want this?"
  "Yes now hurry up."
  "Just making sure," he said as before Autumn could say anything else Draco's lips were on hers. The minute that Draco felt Autumn's lips on his everything felt so right like he was coming home. Draco would freeze time just so they could stay in that very moment, at least he would've until he heard someone clear their throat and when Draco looked over, he saw Snape was standing there.
  "So this is where my daughter has been? Mr. Malfoy, before I can entrust the care of my daughter might I ask what your intentions are? If they don't please me or you hurt my daughter, even Lucius won't be able to save you from my wrath."
 "Dad, aren't you being a little extreme, you know Draco."
  "Autumn this is a question for Mr. Malfoy to answer, now what will it be," Snape asked looking right at Draco. While most would be scared and sure Draco was, he had known what he would do with Autumn if he was even given the chance. So he allowed himself to have a look so full of love.
  "Well, godfather, if this lasts like I hope it will. I hope to one day marry your daughter if she accepts. I would protect her and anyone we bring into the world with everything I have. I would always treat your daughter like she deserves and I will love her until the day she dies. Through I hope I die first because I can't imagine a world without her in it."
  "Well Mr. Malfoy I suppose I can leave my daughter in your hands, but make one wrong move and you will regret it," Snape said as he then began to leave the room but not before turning back one last time. "Oh and next time you two want to snog I would prefer it if you didn't do it in front of me."
At this, both Draco's and Autumn's faces went red with embarrassment as Snape left with a small smile on his face. As this was the start of something new for the two of them all because of a drunk confession and honestly the two wouldn't give it any other way. It didn't matter to them though because they had each other and that was all that mattered.

The Age of Us pt. 1 - Draco x Reader
Prompt: Glimpses into your lives through the years
Pairing: Draco x Slytherin!Reader
Part 2
Part 3 coming soon!
Tumblr media
In First Year you're a ball of glimmering potential. You're staring wide eyed at the brilliant castle before you from the boat house and on the walk up a little Draco is trailing behind you, holding up your robes to prevent them from dragging in the mud. You don't even notice the sweet gesture as you spend the climb up rambling to him about how excited you are to begin learning about magic, bouncy as ever with a smile wider than he's ever been able to draw out from you. Not even his mother's white peacocks at Malfoy Manor brought out such a smile from you, nor the time years ago when you two rolled down the hill on your family's estate, covered in twigs and wrestling in a pile of dried leaves, giggly as ever.
╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
Draco watches proudly as his girl is sorted into Slytherin house, and he welcomes you with a radiant smirk as you trot over to the house table and seat yourself right next to him. He watches eagerly as Potter and that blasted orange haired Weasley boy are called out next, moping methodically along to the sorting hat, watching them with a glare he reserved for the mud-bloods his father would point out on trips to Diagon Alley. He hopes Potter will be sorted into Slytherin, after all, 'connections are key' Lucius would say and who better a connection than the chosen one?
'Oh Draco,' You tut, 'look at the sky!' you're in awe at the ceiling which you've only just noticed, the enchantments were executed so gracefully if you hadn't of read Hogwarts, A History before the year began you would've had no clue the great hall ever had a roof.
He looked at you with the same dirty expression sculpted on his face that he had given Potter through the ceremony, stuck like cement, but when he noticed your doughy lips parted in wonder, he reached over and with a nimble finger, he closed your mouth for you, leaving you blushing a tomato red.
╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
'Up! Up! Up!'
You're standing over your broom, watching the other kids stand in organised lines across from you in the fields, succeeding with calling their brooms to them. Draco had succeeded on the first try, of course, and you're embarrassed to be one of the last people whose brooms have still not so much moved from their original position.
He catches your eye and gives you a sympathetic look, crossing his lips into a firm line. The broom in his hand is tossed carelessly to the ground and he makes a leap towards you, his hands reaching to tenderly adjust your arm in another position.
Draco had received lessons over the Summer and was already worrying his mother as he hastily flew around the Manor windows on the shiny Nimbus Lucius insisted he needed. You watched him on warm Spring afternoons with your feet firmly planted on the ground in the grassy meadows as he perfected his flying, your hands busy with knitting because 'a little girl like yourself needn't fly,' as your mother had so often reminded you when you dared to ask.
'There, try with your hands like that, and say it firmly,' Your best friend instructed you, watching your worried eyes and flushed cheeks.
'I don't know Draco, maybe I just can't fly,' you confess, worried that really was the possibility.
'Just try,' he furrowed his brows, 'for me?'
You shakily nod your head, the last one on the field now without a complying broom. The Longbottom boy had now been escorted to the hospital wing by Madam Hooch and you hoped such a thing wouldn't happen to you but Draco seemed to read your mind when he notices your wandering eyes.
'Just look at me, look at my eyes, Y/N,' he began, rubbing your shoulders 'Don't focus on anything else,'
You gulped, staring into him with an openess you reserved only for him 'Up!'
The broom snaps into your hand and you squeal in excitement, throwing it away as quickly as it flys to you and embracing Draco in a hug so tight he could barely breathe.
You don't notice the glares the two of you received from Potter and his gang, but Draco does, giving them an equally dirty look before marching over to the remembrall that had rolled over and snatching it right off the ground.
 ╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
 There was a troll on the loose in the castle and you've been escorted back to the Slytherin dorms by the Head boy and girl. Everyone had gone up into their respective dormitories in fear of being taken by the ghastly monster but you had tugged on Draco's sleeves with puppy dog eyes and begged him to stay in the common room and play a game of friendly wizard's chess with you.
He sighs and rolls his blue eyes to the back of his skull but reluctantly agrees and you sit warm by the fire on a bear hide rug. The chess board is nestled between the two of you and Draco instinctively goes to grab the white King but you start to sulk.
'Oh Draco, please, can I be white this time?' you beg, looking up at him with the biggest and glassiest eyes you could possibly muster. How could he say no?
'Ugh, you just want to be white because you want to use the Wayward Queen opening, you always use that one,' he retaliates, pressing the white King into your little hands.
'Do not!'
'Do too!'
'Do not!'
'Do too!'
You blow him a raspberry and make your first move. Pawn to E4.
'Ah hah!' He exclaims, pointing an accusing finger at you with a light scowl brushed on his features, tussling his air with his other hand in frustration. 'You're doing it! You're doing the same opening!'
You give him a ghastly stare and with a swing of your arm you knock over all of the chess pieces, huffing and puffing as they spread fallen all over the board.
'Fine! Stay down here and get eaten by the troll then!' You hiss at him, and run up to your dorm room to scream into your pillow.
 ╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
You're sitting in the first potions class of the year, listening to Professor Snape lecture Harry about not listening after watching him methodically take notes on the Professor's wise words from a couple rows away. You weren't able to get a seat next to Draco at the front of the class and you silently thanked this luck, having boasted about how much you've studied all Summer in preparations for potions and knowing Draco had not read even a single passage.
You sat next to a bushy haired Gryffindor girl called Lavender who weary looked in a mirror and you smirked as you watched Draco's ivory head listening to Snape assign the first task ever: brewing a common poison antidote. When Snape announces the winning pair will receive 5 points each to their respective houses your eyes twinkle with anticipation.
You leave your partner behind to gather the ingredients for the potion: Bezoar, mistletoe berries and a unicorn horn. You bump into Draco in front of the ingredient cupboard, and beam at him proudly.
'I read about this potion in the potions book,' you smile sweetly up at him, purposefully brushing against him as you shove to grab the vials. 'It should be a piece of pie,' you laugh accusingly, standing as tall as your short legs allow you to.
'Good luck,' Draco laughs vacantly, handing you a unicorn horn from the top shelf you couldn't reach. His fingers brush against yours and you scoff, heading back to your cauldron.
Lavender is sat twirling the knife on its tip on the chopping board as if she'd never seen the utensil before and in the time you were gone had managed to spill water just about everywhere, wetting your parchment and bleeding the ink of the potion recipe.
'My goodness,' You exclaim, rushing to take away the knife and wipe up the water, 'have you two left hands?'
You watch the potion brew and bubble as it cooks, anxiously tracking the time with an hourglass. When the final grains of sands trickle through the narrowed passage, you hastily reach for the unicorn horn you powdered earlier and your heart sinks when you see your partner already poised over the cauldron, a pinch of the precious powder between her fingertips. She carefully sprinkles it into the cauldron and you watch in horror as a noxious cloud of black smoke billows forth and envelops you both in char.
'How many pinches did you put in?' You scream, wiping the soot from your eyes.
'Two,' Lavender whimpers, eyes stinging from the cloud.
'It was meant to be ONE!'
Everyone in the class is now giggling at your misfortunes and Professor Snape has now come over to see what all the commotion is about.
'You two better clean that up right now,' Snape chastised in his nasally voice, condemning you to blush in shame beneath the soot on your cheeks.
As Snape made his rounds, meticulously examining the colors of each potion, his scrutiny lingered noticeably longer on Draco's cauldron. The pungent aroma that emanated from Draco's concoction filled the classroom, matching the textbook's description exactly, causing you to wince involuntarily.
'Malfoy, Zabini, 10 points to Slytherin,' Snape announces.
Draco's triumphant gaze locks onto you as he revels in his perceived victory in the silent competition between the two of you. With a mocking laugh, he directs his attention to your soot-streaked face, his expression one of haughty satisfaction as he proudly asserts his well-deserved win with a piercing stare.
 ╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
Eyes drifting over to Pansy Parkinson you can't help but notice she is staring at your best friend, and you don't like it. You're in Charms class with Professor Flitwick and you're sitting a few seats down from Draco who is stuffed in-between his minions and looking increasingly annoyed from the class introduction Flitwick is moping on about. Pansy has painted on herself an innocent expression she only wore around Draco and you wished you could shake her until the ribbons came undone and her mask fell off.
Despite her Pureblooded nature and family status, you couldn't rid the feeling of unease whenever she was around and sharing a dorm with her turned to be nothing short of a Lovecratian nightmare. There was something about her that set your teeth on edge. You wanted to pry off her veil and examine her flaws beneath a microsope; you wanted to disect her and unravel the intricacies that made you burn with an inextinguishable fire.
You gaped at her when she cheered on Draco who had quickly succeeded in levitating his feather, leaning over the desk so far you thought she would topple right over and end head first in the middle of the classroom, bouncing on her horribly cut bob upside down and out of the classroom window and into the grounds. You imagined it so vividly you started to chuckle to yourself and didn't even realise Draco had been beckoning you with the usual smirk you loved across the desk.
Pansy looked at him eagerly, daydreaming about her name dancing on Draco's tongue rather than yours and she blushed a million shades of red when she realised she was drooling slightly from the corner of her mouth. You shot her a look of disdain, features twisting haughty from her sopping desperation. She knew that you had won - as did you -knowing it was your name on his lips, not hers.
╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
'Potter,' You're seething through your teeth, acknowledging his dreadful existence as you and Draco pass him on the way to the Quidditch fields. You're dressed head to toe in green, showing support for your house. Draco's Slytherin scarf is wrapped securely around your neck, flowing behind you in the wind and you delight in his scent. You can't help but watch Harry in pure disgust, not because you hate him by proxy, but because Draco should be seeker, not him and it wasn't fair.
'Rosier,' He starts back, his eyes narrowing to a squint at the two of you for an instant before he hurries back to the safety of the rest of the Gryffindor team. Malfoy smirks at you proudly, leading you to the Slytherin seating area with a gentle hand on the small of your back, luxuriating in seeing his scarf around your neck.
And when all of Hogwarts watches Harry reveal he has caught the golden snitch, you feel nauseous and you can only think back to all of the nights you spent comforting Draco when he found out Harry had made the team. You scowl, your fingers sliding down to find Draco's beneath the bench and you squeeze them hard. It should've been him.
╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
You wake up in a panicked sweat, the hair on your face sticking on your damp skin. You feel tears sliding down your plump cheeks and you reach up to wipe them away but they won't stop. Nightmares invaded your dreams, mercilessly rocking you awake in a sea of no hope. When you look around your sleeping quarters, you see strange figures in the form of your wardrobe, capes draped across armchairs and coat stands twice your height. Your dormmates are sleeping peacefully In their own beds, their light puffs of air comforting you - but it wasn't enough. You needed Draco.
Gulping, you manage to place your wobbly feet on the floorboards and wrap a Slytherin blanket around your tiny figure, tip-toeing out of the room without causing anyone else to lose sleep. You left the girls a silent prayer for their safety and you snuck down the stairs.
The common room was now empty in the middle of the night, the hot fire still roaring its song to warm the unforgiving dungeons the Slytherin house called home but you couldn't shake the uneasy feeling of being watched by prying eyes and you squeaked with the floorboards, rushing up the stairs opposite and straight to Draco's dorm.
You padded on the door softly with care to not wake the wrong occupant. You whispered his name more times than you could count, counting instead the hot tears that flew to the ground from your leaky eyes. When the door opens revealing a half-asleep Draco he knows right away to open his arms and hold you tight, and that is exactly what he did. That night he inhales your sweet scent and whispers sweet nothings into your ear, lulling the bad dreams away.
╺╺╺╺╺╺╺
Snow topples from the sky and for the first time in your life you're happy about it. Christmas break came and went all too soon and now in front of you lies the vast whiteness of Winter. She covers Hogwarts in a thick blanket and you sink in it's softness, snow filling your boots and socks.
'Ah!', you jump around from the chill, pausing Draco is his steps as he's foraging for a stick to finish the snowman the two of you had spent all afternoon building. He lets out a hearty chuckle directed at you when you point to your boots, mouthing 'wet' and pouting with your pillowy lips.
He is stifling a laugh as he goes back to searching for the perfect twig and you don't feel content at this reaction. Without a single further thought, your gloves pawed into the sheath around you and formed a perfectly round globe of snow. You eyed your target meticulously, catching the eyes of Blaise and Pansy in the process and before Pansy could warn her precious Draco, you've already belted the snowball at him and watched as it exploded into dust on his back.
Draco whips back to see you howling in laughter, bracing yourself with your hands clutching your thighs, the pom of your beanie shaking erratically. He frowns, glancing over to his friends who shrug their shoulders at him, and while Blaise sends a cheeky smile, Pansy is mouthing your name and pointing to you crudely.
'Hey!' he yells, abandoning the stick he spent oh so long looking for and creating his own balls of destruction. He was going to make you regret this.
That afternoon you all walked back to the castle covered in snow and ice, hair wet and lips pink but you silently wished the day would have never ended and you replayed it over and over in your head that night, cackling silently when the image of Draco's scowl turned into a mischievous grin and it all lingered in your mind.

song: sleigh ride - the ronettes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were currently pushed up against the wall by your boyfriend, Draco Malfoy.
His lips roam the smooth skin of your jaw and throat. Peppering you with loving kisses while you play with his hair.
Both of you are breathing heavy and he brings his lips back up to your mouth as he kisses you. You let out a satisfied hum and put your hands on his chest.
You gently push him back a bit and he looks at you. "What's wrong, love?"
"Someone is going to see us," you whisper.
"Hm, well that sucks for them," he grins and kisses you again.
You push him and laugh, "I guess you're right," you smile.
"They're going to see us when we go to the ball tomorrow night, you do know that, don't you?"
"Well of course, I know that!"
Draco pulls you into his chest and rests his head on yours, "If Potter has a problem with you and me tomorrow, I'll be more than happy to practice some hexes on him," he glides his hand along your waist.
"There will be no practicing hexes, Draco," you pick up his hand and kiss it before walking out of his embrace.
"Boring!"
"Oh, don't be such a baby," you squeeze his cheeks. "Anyway, I'll be off to dinner now, you should come too," you start walking to the great hall and he follows you like a lost puppy.
You go in and sit with Harry, Hermione, and Ron. "Hello," you smile at them.
"Hi, Y/n," Hermione smiles.
"Hey, mate," Ron says.
"Greetings," Harry salutes you. You grin and salute him back.
"So, do you all have your dates?" You ask them. You already knew about Hermione's date, of course, you two are like sisters.
"Er- not exactly," Harry replies scratching the back of his neck.
"Same here," Ron sighs and drops his head onto the table. You cover your mouth to stop your laugh when he groans in pain.
"Welp, you two got under a day left," you clasp your hands.
"What about you?" Ron asks, "I've been wondering if you finally picked someone out of the two hundred people who asked you," he says with amusement.
"Oh don't be silly, Ron, it was not two hundred people!"
"Sorry- two hundred and seven," he corrects.
You roll your eyes, but it was true. You four have literally been tallying how many people have asked you, boys and girls. "Well, yes, I have a date."
"Really? Who?" Hermione asks.
"I suppose you'll have to see tomorrow," you exclaim with a smile.
Tumblr media
You were in your room getting ready for the ball, slightly panicking. Hermione was already dressed and now helping you. "Y/n, you don't need to be nervous," she says as she helps with your hair.
"I know but-"
"No buts. You are perfect and you dance amazingly! Your date is very lucky," she smiles.
You relax a bit and look at her through the mirror, "Hermione, have I mentioned how much I love you?"
"Yes, yes you have," she takes her wand to finish your hair. You already did your makeup with some of her assistance. She claps her hands in excitement, "I believe it's time for the dress!"
You pick up the beautiful dark green gown. You had bought Draco a matching tie when you picked the dress out.
You put the dress on and flatten out some wrinkles.
"You look stunning!" Hermione squeals.
"You mean that?"
"Of course! Now, let's head to the ball!" Hermione links her arm with yours. You two make your way to the entrance when you start to panic again. For someone as well known and popular as you, you get social anxiety often.
"You go in first, I'm scared," you bite your lip nervously.
She sighs but nods. She gives you a quick smile with a thumbs up before she heads down the stairs and goes to her date, Viktor Krum. You peak through the curtain to watch. Ron's jaw drops when he looks at her and her date. He looks angry and you could almost laugh.
After pacing for two minutes you decided to just go down. You pull the curtain and try to sneak in without being noticed. Unfortunately, things don't always go the way you want.
There were an absurd amount of gasps as you made your way down the stairs, praying to Merlin that you didn't trip in your heels. The gaping gazes of the people there making you even more nervous.
You see Draco talking with his best friend, Blaise Zabini. Draco listens to his friend talk as he waits for you to arrive. He notices his friends eyes widened as his mouth opens a bit.
He furrows his brows and looks to see everyone staring at something. He looks and his eyes land on you. He feels all the air sucked out of him. He admires you and then snaps out of his trance and makes his way over you, who was smiling at him.
He holds out his hand and you place yours in his. He leans down to your ear and whispers, "I hope you know how ethereal you look, sweetheart," he pulls back and you blush. Another round of gasps fill the room and you hear a, "WHAT?!" You look over and see Harry rushing over to you two, "I- what in Merlin's name are you doing with Malfoy?!"
"Um, he's my date," you say.
Harry's jaw drops as his head goes back between the two of you. You laugh and shake your head.
Draco pulls on your hand, "I would appreciate a dance with my girlfriend while you continue gaping," he places his hand on your lower back and walks you to where people started to dance.
"GIRLFRIEND??!!"

it was midnight, the rain was pouring outside, and you couldn't sleep; the thunderstorm had you tossing and turning in bed anxiously. you had always been afraid of storms and being alone in your massive bedroom back in malfoy manor was doing nothing to ease your fear.
you got up from your bed, walking towards the door to leave your room. the house was in complete silence —everyone was asleep, of course. carefully of not doing any noise, you made your way towards your stepbrother's bedroom and, once you arrived there, you opened the door quietly. you saw him sleeping peacefully under his covers, his dishevelled platinum hair peeking through the sheets. you approached his bed, shaking him softly to wake him up and he started to open his grey eyes, frowning in confusion when he saw you standing there.
"y/n?" he muttered, still sleepy, as he rubbed his eye gently.
you bit your lip, feeling bad for waking him up in the middle of the night, and you started shivering a little bit, your tiny pijamas were doing nothing to cover you from the cold december air.
"mmm... i'm sorry for waking you, but it's storming," you answered as you looked at him with big innocent eyes, then you added, "can i stay here with you?"
draco's eyes seemed to soften when he saw you standing there, so scared and vulnerable, and he immediately nodded, flashing you a reassuring smile.
"yeah, of course," he said, pulling his bedsheets out of the way so that you could crawl beneath them, "climb in."
as you climbed into bed with him, he wrapped and arm around your body to warm you up. there was something comforting about being in his embrace that made you feel safe and secure. you snuggled next to him, sighing as you started to relax.
"thank you, draco," you muttered.
he always took care of you during storms, he had done it since you were kids; in fact, he was the only one who knew about your phobia.
he kissed you softly on the forehead before hugging you tighter against his body, muttering, "anytime, princess."
your heart melted when he called you 'princess', it was such a sweet nickname. you smiled as you rested your head on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat; it was calming, like music that put you in a trance. draco made you feel things you should certainly not feel for your stepbrother, but you couldn't help it, he was so loving and caring with you; no one had ever treated you like he did.
you stayed silent for a moment, then asked, "why do you always call me 'princess'?"
draco smiled down at you, brushing a strand of hair away from your face tenderly. after that, he caressed your cheek with his fingertips, making your skin prickle under his soft touch. he cupped your face to make you look up at him, your gaze met his.
"because you remind me of one... so pure and innocent and so beautiful," he whispered as he looked at you with adoring eyes; your heart skipped a beat.
your cheeks flushed slightly at his compliment, and you felt a strange sensation in your stomach, like a bunch of butterflies fluttering around inside of it. You never thought someone would say such kind words to you, especially not your stepbrother.
"you're so sweet, draco," you cooed.
draco pressed another gentle kiss against your forehead before speaking again, "just for you, my pretty girl."
there was a noticeable hint of desire in his voice that you had never heard before, and it sent shivers down your spine. you trembled slightly, feeling a sudden heat spread through your body, and you bit your lower lip nervously. it felt like something had shifted suddenly between the two of you.
"i like it when you call me that..." you stammered nervously, looking at him with big innocent eyes full of longing, as you started toying with the hem of his white t-shirt.
draco's hand moved to the small of your back, pulling you closer to him, your bodies now completely pressed together. you could feel the heat radiating from his skin, while he couldn't resist leaning down to place a trail of kisses along your neck, starting at your jawline and working down towards your collarbone.
"you look so fucking beautiful when you blush," he whispered between kisses, his fingers lingering over the waistband of your shorts.
your breathing quickened, and so did your heartbeat. you let out a soft gasp as his lips trailed over your sensitive skin, making you squirm. your hands found their way to his hair, pulling and tugging it gently as a response to his kisses.
"draco, wait... this isn't right," you stuttered in a barely audible voice, feeling overwhelmed by the sudden rush of new sensations coursing through your veins.
"oh, but it does feel fucking right," he said, grinning as his hands moved to grab your thighs while he brushed his lips lightly against yours, then he asked you, "can i kiss you, princess?"
your breath hitched when he called you 'princess' again, and your heart raced faster than ever. you bit your lower lip nervously, but you nodded.
"yeah..." you answered shyly as your gaze inevitably dropped to his lips.
draco took advantage of your consent, pressing his lips softly against yours in a tender kiss that left both of you breathless. his hands squeezed your thighs tightly, pulling you even closer to him as he deepened the kiss after a few seconds. his tongue slipped past your parted lips, exploring every corner of your mouth eagerly. you could feel the evidence of his arousal pressing against your belly through the fabric of his sweatpants, and it made your own desire grow stronger; you couldn't help but moan softly into the kiss.
"i want to see you," he murmured against your lips, breaking the kiss briefly.
"see me?" you whispered back, not quite understanding what he meant.
draco nodded, pulling back slightly to look at you, his grey eyes glinting in anticipation. "show me, please." he breathed, reaching down to tug at your pijama shorts slowly, waiting for your reaction. "i want to see how fucking perfect you are." he spoke each word slowly, trying to not scare you off.
you paralysed when you finally understood him and hesitated for a moment, feeling embarrassed of exposing your most private part in front of a guy, and not just any guy, in front of your stepbrother.
"i've never done this before..." you stuttered nervously.
you bit your lip as you lowered your eyes, unable to hold his gaze, but he reached up to stroke your cheek gently, forcing you to look at him once again.
"i know," he said softly, voice thick with desire. "i promise i won't judge you, princess. you trust me, right?"
he stared deeply into your eyes, making sure you understood that he meant every word he said.
you swallowed hard, but you nodded. "yes, i trust you, draco." you whispered.
you were nervous, of course, but it was just draco in front of you... your stepbrother, draco, who had always taken care of you. you felt safe with him, so you sat up on the bed and reached for the waistband of your shorts, pulling them down your legs alongside your cotton panties.
at first, you kept your legs closed, but he kneeled in front of you and stroked your thighs slowly, opening them to expose your smooth wet pussy; you saw his eyes gleaming at the sight.
"fuck me, princess," he muttered hoarsely, reaching out to touch your slick folds gently with his fingertips, "you're so damn perfect."
you shivered at his words, feeling your muscles clench involuntarily when his fingers brushed your sensitive skin. you had never been touched there, so it was a strange sensation for you, and yet it felt incredibly good.
"m not," you told him breathlessly, blushing.
draco continued to explore your pussy with his fingers, spreading your wetness all the way up to your clit.
"yes, you are," he whispered back, his voice low and raspy, as he ran his thumb over your clit gently, causing you to gasp sharply. "so fucking perfect."
your hips began to move involuntarily, trying to find some sort of relief from the pleasure that was building within you. meanwhile, his other hand moved to cup your breast gently, squeezing it firmly while he continued to tease your pussy with his digit. you whimpered slowly, your nipple hardening under his touch... you needed more.
"i want... i want to take this off too," you told him between heavy breaths, biting your lower lip as you reached for your tank top.
draco nodded eagerly, removing his hand from your breast but still keeping his fingers busy stroking your pussy. he helped you lift the tank top over your head, leaving you completely bare before him, your breasts bouncing with every movement you made.
he groaned, trailing his lips down to your collarbone before moving lower to suckle one of your sensitive nipples into his mouth. you gasped as his lips attached themselves to your nipple, feeling the coil tightening in your belly.
"such a beautiful girl," he complimented you, his voice mutered by your flesh, "you're driving me wild."
your hips bucked against his hand, while your own hands found their way to his hair, pulling at it to bring him closer to your breast.
"d-draco... i need you..." you whispered, biting your lip as you felt your orgasm building up inside of you. "i want to feel you."
"i need you too, princess," he whispered, pulling away from your tits reluctantly to look at you, "but we need to take things slow... i don't want to hurt you."
you nodded, agreeing with him; despite how needy you were, you knew he was right. he placed a gentle kiss on your forehead, then stood up and grabbed a bottle of lubricant from the nightstand, pouring some onto his fingers before kneeling between your spread legs once again. with his free hand, he dragged you towards him until your spread thighs were seated over his, your hips a little bit lifted.
"okay," he said softly, "i'm going to put my finger inside you, you ready?" you nodded in response.
his middle finger gently traced your entrance and you flinched slightly when you felt the cold lub against your skin. you let out a cute nervous giggle that soon turned into a gasp when he pushed his digit into your tight hole, sliding it in slowly until it was fully inside.
"aw..." you whined, pouting; you felt a light sting caused by the intrusion.
his thumb instantly reached for your clit to try and ease the pain, making you whimper for him, and your muscles started to loose thanks to the pleasure he was providing. he continued to rub your clit gently while pushing his finger deeper into your tight pussy.
"attagirl," he whispered, "that's it... relax for me, let me take care of you, princess."
as he spoke, he added another finger, pushing them both inside you slowly, until they were buried deep within your wetness, to stretch you out and prepare you for his cock.
your body relaxed completely when you felt his fingers curling inside you to massage your sweet spot, and soon enough you were whimpering softly for him.
"d-draco... that feels so good." you panted, biting your lip as your hips bucked upwards.
draco smiled at your response, increasing the pressure on your clit slightly while his fingers continued to rub against your g-spot. you could feel your pussy clenching around his digits; your release approaching quickly.
"good girl," he whispered, "you gonna cum for me?"
your breath caught in your throat, the anticipation growing stronger, and you nodded, unable to speak as you felt the coil in your belly about to snap. a few more seconds was all it took for you to cum all over his fingers with a moan that he had to mute by kissing you as he finger fucked you till your orgasm faded, leaving your completely spent, even your legs were shaking.
"so pretty when you come," he muttered between kisses, caressing your face with his free hand.
then he pulled his fingers out, making you whimper at the loss of contact, to reach for the waistband of his sweatpants and pull them down just enough to free his throbbing cock. you opened your eyes and looked down at him, eyes widening when you saw how big he was; you almost panicked. you bit your lip nervously, wondering if you could handle something that big; you didn't think so.
"draco..." you whispered, "that's not gonna fit."
"i'll make it fit, pretty girl," he cooed, reaching to stroke your hair reassuringly. "let's make you comfortable first."
he grabbed one of his pillows, lifting your hips to place it underneath them, and he kneeled between your spread legs, taking his cock to slip it between your folds and tease your clit briefly while he asked, "ready, princess?"
you nodded silently, feeling the head of his cock nudging against your entrance, and you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist, holding onto him tightly as you were about to get penetrated for the very first time.
"yeah... i'm ready," you whispered.
he smiled down at you and pushed forward gently, feeling the resistance of your tight entrance giving way to his girth; every inch he pushed in brought you a new wave of sensations, both pleasure and pain mingling together in perfect harmony.
he groaned as he finally entered you fully, filling you up to the brink, and paused for a moment to let you adjust to the intrusion before beginning to move steadily, his hips thrusting in and out of you at a slow pace.
"so fucking tight," he growled, "you feel so good."
he reached to untangle your fingers with his, pinning your hand against the mattress. the position allowed his body to rub your clit directly every time he pounded into you, which made you let out a series of soft whimpers. your eyes closed as your hips started moving along with his, meeting each one of his thrusts, which made him grunt in satisfaction.
"d-draco..." you panted, "f-feels very good..." you bit your lip, lost in the sensations.
he grinned as he looked down at you and increased the pace of his hips, hitting your sweet spot with every thrust. he leaned down to capture your lips in a messy kiss, all tongue and teeth.
"mine," he growled against your lips, "always mine," he repeated.
he showed no mercy to your sensitive pussy, plunging into you relentlessly, making your whimpers turn into moans, that grew louder each time he pounded into you, too damn loud, and with your parents sleeping in the same hallway as you, that was a recipe for disaster.
he let go of your hand and reached to cover your mouth with his palm, muffling your sounds slightly, but not enough to stop them entirely.
"shh... need to be quiet, baby," he cooed, "can you do that for me?"
you nodded quickly, doing your best to keep your moans low, but it was hard with his cock pounding into you like that; your cheeks flushed red.
"good girl," he praised you. "so fucking good for your stepbro."
your whole body was trembling, while his thrusts were becoming sloppier each passing second. and you knew he was close to cumming, but so we're you.
you wrapped your fingers around the wrist of the hand he was using to cover your mouth and your face contorted in pleasure, feeling his hard thrusts almost reach your cervix.
"i'm so close, princess," he warned.
he managed to hold it in, though, determined on making you cum first. his free hand moved down your body and his fingers attached to your clit to rub it, which made your pussy clench around his dick. you heard him moan softly, indicating that he had liked that, so you did it again and again, triggering your own orgasm.
you exploded in a mind-blowing climax, your walls convulsing around his cock while wave after wave of pleasure ran through you. your legs gripped him even tighter, pulling him closer as your pussy engulfed him completely.
he groaned, unable to hold back any longer, and he let himself fall over the edge, his own orgasm crashing down upon him like a tidal wave. he held you tightly, his body shuddering as he emptied himself inside you, filling you with his hot cum.
"oh fuck yes," he muttered hoarsely, "so fucking good."
he collapsed on top of you, and you felt his transpired t-shirt clinging to your own sweaty skin, but you didn't mind, you both laid in bed, bodies intertwined as you catched your breaths.
"i love you, draco. i love you so much," you admitted.
your heart was racing, and you felt incredibly vulnerable, but at the same time, you had never felt safer than in that moment, lying there with him.
draco lifted his head from your chest to look up at you with the biggest smile you had ever seen in his face. he stroked your hair gently, adoration filling his grey eyes.
"I love you too, princess, more than anything in the world," he whispered, your heart swelled.
the storm was still ragging outside, but you didn't care about it anymore.

One Day
Summary: On the two year anniversary of her death, Hermione and Draco have a chat.
Word Count: 724
A/N: Inspired by episode 14 of One Day
-
The door creaks as Draco leans against it, his body heavy with liquor and despondency. It’s mostly empty, the shutters drawn, casting the room in a dim light. He spins in a slow circling, taking it in for a moment before he raises his glass tumbler to his lips and sips the bourbon.
It burns his throat as he swallows but he’s grown accustomed to it, and has even begun to favor it over fire whiskey ever since Hermione exposed him to it.
Glass in hand, Draco puts his back to the wall before he slides down, his neck cranked back as he gazes up. He’s tempted to rub his eyes as he reads ‘Granger's things’ written on the sides of the boxes but he can’t be bothered. His arms are too heavy, limbs too tired.
“I don’t mind, you know. If you just got rid of it all.”
Draco sighs heavily, turns his head to the right. “I’d never do that.”
His throat is scratchy from limited use, and he swallows as he stares at her.
Hermione’s legs are crossed at the ankles, her fingers laced together and she gazes at the boxes full of her old things. Her curly hair is loose, falling in waves over her shoulders, splatter of freckles dancing across her face like constellations.
“Keep the photos though,” She continues, then lets out a light laugh. “I was actually quite gorgeous, in our twenties. Though I didn't appreciate it at the time.”
Draco swallows again, grips the glass tumbler hard. “I did.”
“Sometimes you did,” Hermione turns, her eyes soft as she smiles gently. “Sometimes you didn’t.”
Draco gazes at her, feels the tears brimming at his eyes. She looks so alive in this frame of light, lips pouty and pink, brows arched as her brown eyes shimmer. Her face is sympathetic, lines over worry on her forehead. She always looks like this when he sees her now.
“It won’t always be like this.” she says softly. Draco bounces his eyes from her mouth to her hair to her eyes to nose, trying to commit the shape of her to memory.
“Why wouldn't it?” he asks, his voice cracking and he clears his throat. “What would change it?”
Hermione hums, shakes her head slightly. “Time.”
“Time,” Draco repeats. He turns his head to stare at the ceiling, licks his chapped lips. “No, thats…I can really feel the clouds parting, Granger.”
Hermione smiles, her nose scrunching in the most adorable way, the way he had loved so much and it makes him smile as well.
“Yeah, you’re funny.” She whispers, and Draco feels a tear slip down his face. They’re quiet for a moment, and then Hermione shuffles closer, leans her head against his shoulder and if he concentrates hard enough, he can almost feel her.
Raising a hand, Hermione touches his face, her own eyes wet and Draco lets out a shuddering breath, closes his eyes.
“Well,” Hermione says, sniffing lightly. “At least this year you can pass out on your own carpet.”
Draco chuckles humorously, recalling the one year anniversary of her death and how he’d spent it black-out drunk. Hermione shifts, moves her lower half so that she can lay her head on his lap.
“There's not nearly enough in this bottle for that.” Draco replies as he runs a hand down his face, and Hermione nods.
“Then you’ll go down to the offie, and you’ll buy a couple more bottles,” Hermione murmurs, her hair splaying to the side. “And maybe some cigarettes, and you’ll smoke them here which…you’ll regret, cause you’ll never quite get the smell out. And Ginny will call you later. And Astoria. But you won’t want to sound sad or pissed so you won’t pick up.”
“That so.” Draco says quietly, and Hermione nods again.
“Which means tomorrow you'll have to call them both, and say you fell asleep early. And your mum, because they would’ve called her too,” she says, her eyes focused on the boxes. “And you’ll feel guilty and hung over and just…shit. All day.”
Draco nods slowly, feels a tear run down his nose. He lets it, blinks and feels it fall. Another quickly descends, following its friend, and he sniffs, his jaw tight.
“And it’ll go on like that,” Hermione continues. “Until it doesn't. Because one day…it won’t”

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ Hidden Moments | Draco Malfoy ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x Fem! Reader
Warnings: characters are 18+, soft Draco
Summary: Fluff | A reserved new student finds comfort and connection in the unexpected warmth of Draco Malfoy.
Word count: 7557
author's note: Thank you for this request, anon person! I hope you manage to see this because there is no way to tag you. I also really really hope that you like it! ♡
You sat quietly at the Slytherin table, staring down at your breakfast as you absentmindedly stirred your porridge. The Great Hall buzzed with morning chatter and laughter, but it all felt distant, like background noise that didn’t quite reach you. You weren’t used to this place yet—not the towering walls, not the crowded tables, not the countless faces that were still strangers to you. You felt like a misfit puzzle piece, unsure where you belonged in the grand picture of Hogwarts.
Moving in the middle of the school year had been jarring, to say the least. Just a few weeks ago, you’d been at your old school, surrounded by friends you’d known for years. There, you’d felt safe, comfortable. But that world had been left behind when your parents had abruptly decided to move back to England. You were sure that they had their reasoning but now everything was new and unfamiliar, and it felt as if the ground had been pulled out from under you.
Adjusting was harder than you’d anticipated. Your natural shyness and introverted nature made it difficult to reach out, to speak up, or to introduce yourself. You kept to yourself, trying to avoid the eyes of the other students, your shoulders slightly hunched as if to make yourself smaller. Each meal felt like an ordeal, sitting alone at the Slytherin table, acutely aware of the laughter and conversations happening around you but feeling somehow apart from it all.
You sighed softly, poking at a piece of toast, hoping to blend into the background, just another face in the crowd. But the weight of your solitude was settling on you, heavier with each day. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to make friends—you just didn’t know how to start. The thought of approaching anyone, of forcing yourself into an unfamiliar social circle, made your stomach churn.
Just as you were sinking deeper into your own thoughts, you noticed someone sitting down across from you. Startled, you glanced up, meeting the cool grey eyes of none other than Draco Malfoy. He looked at you with a faint, unreadable smirk, his gaze lingering as if sizing you up. The Draco Malfoy—you’d heard his name more times than you could count in the first month since you’d arrived. He was known for his sharp tongue, his confidence, and the way he commanded attention. Yet here he was, sitting across from you, his eyes flicking from your nervous posture to the untouched food on your plate.
“Lost in thought, are we?” His voice was smooth, almost teasing, breaking the silence in a way that felt both comforting and intimidating.
You felt your cheeks warm, your eyes quickly darting back down to your porridge. “Sorry… I didn’t mean to…” You trailed off, unsure how to explain the storm of emotions that came with being the new, quiet girl at Hogwarts.
He chuckled softly, the sound surprisingly warm despite his reputation. “Don’t apologise.” he said, leaning forward slightly. “It’s just rare to see someone so… silent here.”
You glanced up at him again, noticing the hint of intrigue in his expression. It felt strange, having someone like him show an interest in you, the shy girl who barely spoke. But his gaze wasn’t unkind. If anything, it held a quiet curiosity, as if he were genuinely trying to understand you.
The thought made your pulse quicken, and before you could help it, you muttered, “I’m… just not used to this place yet.”
Draco’s smirk softened, and for a fleeting moment, you could’ve sworn you saw a glimpse of something gentler in his eyes. He tilted his head, studying you with a look that seemed oddly thoughtful. “Well, Hogwarts does take some getting used to. But who knows? You might surprise yourself.”
You felt yet another rush of warmth creep into your cheeks as you nodded, hoping your face wasn’t as red as it felt. Draco’s gaze lingered, and in that brief silence, he took in the softness of your features, the subtle beauty of your face, and the way your cheeks had flushed a delicate pink. Something about it made him pause, his usual confidence faltering as he wondered why he found you so… intriguing.
He shouldn’t have been interested, he knew that. He was Draco Malfoy—the boy with a sharp tongue, a cold demeanour, and a reputation for being dangerous. Innocent, shy girls like you weren’t supposed to be on his radar. You were the opposite of everything he was used to, and he was well aware of the shadows he carried, the things that made others keep their distance.
And yet, he couldn’t seem to help himself.
For a moment, he wondered what it was that made him want to approach you. Maybe it was the way you sat there, quiet and introspective, as if the world around you was a whirlwind you wanted no part in. Maybe it was the vulnerability in your eyes, the way you looked both fragile and resilient at the same time. Or maybe it was simply that he hadn’t seen anyone quite as stunning in a way that felt so… unguarded.
He cleared his throat, breaking the silence. “You know, people aren’t always as they seem here.” he said, his voice softening in a way that surprised even him. “Don’t let this place get the best of you.”
Before you could respond, he stood up, his usual mask slipping back into place. He gave you one last lingering look, his grey eyes holding a quiet intensity, as if he wanted to say more but couldn’t bring himself to. Then, with a graceful turn, he walked away, blending back into the bustling crowd in the Great Hall.
As you gathered your things and rose from the Slytherin table, you noticed the subtle, piercing gazes from a group of Slytherin girls nearby. Their eyes tracked your movements, whispers exchanged between them as they took in the fact that Draco Malfoy—the Draco Malfoy—had chosen to sit with you. Feeling the prickling sensation of their stares, you quickly looked away, your cheeks warming once more, and quietly slipped out of the Great Hall, heading toward your first class.
The next few weeks passed in a blur, the strangeness of Hogwarts gradually becoming a little less overwhelming. But the biggest change came from Draco’s steady, quiet presence that somehow became a constant in your days.
It started with him joining you in the library. He would stroll in casually, scanning the rows of tables, and his gaze would settle on you as if you were the only one in the room. Without a word, he’d take a seat beside you, opening a book or unfurling a scroll, but he rarely spoke. You began to understand that he didn’t come for conversation; he came for the silence. For the comfort of sitting next to someone who wasn’t demanding anything from him. And slowly, that realisation helped you relax in his company, allowing the quiet between you to grow into something familiar, something that didn’t need filling.
In classes, Draco would occasionally choose the seat next to yours, sliding his books across the desk and flashing you a brief smirk before settling in. During group assignments, he’d gravitate towards you as well, his approach casual, as though it were the most natural thing in the world. You found yourself looking forward to these moments, the way his presence seemed to bring a subtle warmth to the otherwise intimidating newness of everything around you.
You couldn’t deny that it confused you at first—this gentleness he showed you was so different from the way he treated others. You had seen him snap at classmates, mock students with a cold glint in his eyes, and dismiss people with a sneer. His biting remarks were sharp and unkind, making you wonder why he would ever show interest in someone as quiet as you. And yet, here he was, somehow finding his way into your routine.
As the months passed, you relaxed further in his company, almost forgetting the unease that had once overwhelmed you. You began to enjoy these quiet hours, especially when you’d find him lounging in the Slytherin common room on late evenings. Sometimes, he’d settle down beside you on the couch, his body angled toward you as he made light conversation—little things, unimportant things that felt oddly meaningful because they were shared just between the two of you.
You began to notice the softer side of him, the one he kept hidden from everyone else. With you, he was calmer, almost unguarded, and you often caught glimpses of something thoughtful and kind beneath the layers of harshness he presented to the world. He seemed to find solace in your presence, as if you were a quiet refuge from the demands and expectations pressing down on him.
One night, as you sat together in the common room, the firelight casting a warm glow across his face, you turned to him, curiosity getting the better of you.
“Why are you so… different with me?” you asked softly, your voice barely audible above the crackling of the fire.
Draco looked at you, surprised, his gaze searching yours for a long moment. For once, he seemed at a loss for words. Then, with a quiet sigh, he leaned back, his eyes distant yet gentle.
“Maybe I need a break from… everything else.” he murmured, his voice softer than you’d ever heard it. He looked away, almost as if he were embarrassed to admit it. “With you, it’s just… easy.”
You didn’t press him further. Instead, you smiled, a small, understanding smile that told him you knew, that you understood. And as the two of you sat together in that quiet corner of the common room, you felt the invisible line between you grow a little fainter, replaced by a warmth that seemed to settle in the space between your shoulders.
You felt your cheeks flush as you glanced down, fingers fiddling with the edges of your sleeves. Words danced on the tip of your tongue—words that could have told him you enjoyed his company, that he’d somehow become a comforting presence in your days—but you were far too shy to admit it aloud. And yet, there was a small part of you that sensed he already knew, that he could feel the same unspoken bond forming between you.
After a while, you gathered the courage to look up at him, offering a small smile. “Goodnight, Draco.” you murmured softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
His eyes softened, and he gave you a slight nod, a quiet acknowledgment that seemed to hold more meaning than any words could. “Goodnight, Y/N.” he replied, his voice carrying a gentleness that still surprised you.
You rose from the couch and walked up the staircase to your dormitory, your heart fluttering as you replayed the evening in your mind, wondering if you’d ever truly understand why Draco Malfoy of all people had chosen to be kind to you.
The next morning the usual hum of chatter in the Great Hall seemed louder, almost electric with excitement. You quickly caught snippets of conversation from the students around you, words floating through the air like bubbles.
“Did you hear? They have announced the Christmas ball!”
“I can’t wait to see what everyone wears! I’ve already got my dress planned…”
“Who do you think will ask you? I heard Blaise is already planning something big…”
The news about a winter Christmas ball spread through the hall like wildfire, with students leaning in close to whisper about who would be asking whom. You felt a pang of nervousness as the reality of the event sank in. Social gatherings were never easy for you, especially something as grand as a ball. The thought of dressing up, of dancing and mingling with so many people, sent a familiar wave of anxiety washing over you.
In the middle of your anxious thoughts, a new one formed, a quiet, tentative hope that made your heart skip a beat. You couldn’t help but wonder—would Draco ask you to the ball?
As the day went on, you noticed girls from all houses casting glances in Draco’s direction, some giggling behind their hands, others making excuses to speak to him in passing. It seemed that many hoped for his attention, but he remained as aloof as ever, barely acknowledging them. Yet every so often, you caught his gaze drifting toward you, a fleeting glance that made your cheeks grow warm all over again.
The idea of going with him was enough to send a thrill through you, but it was quickly overshadowed by the panic that settled in your stomach at the thought of attending such an event. Draco Malfoy was an enigma, unpredictable at best, and you couldn’t be sure he would want to bring someone like you, the shy, quiet girl he mostly saw in moments of solitude.
That same evening, you were sitting in the library with your books spread out before you. Just as you were starting to take notes, you felt a familiar presence settle beside you. Glancing up, you saw Draco, his usual calm expression softened with the same quiet interest he always showed when you were alone together. He didn’t speak right away, instead opening his own book and letting the comfortable silence settle over you both.
But as you tried to focus on your reading, you couldn’t shake the hope buzzing in the back of your mind, the anticipation of the possibility. Would he, you wondered, break the silence and ask you to the Christmas ball?
Draco’s eyes were slowly flicking over the pages of his book, seemingly lost in his own world. Minutes ticked by, the comfortable silence stretching on as he read. Then, almost casually, he closed his book and turned to face you.
“So…” he began, his voice soft but with a trace of amusement, “are you planning on going to this Christmas ball everyone’s talking about?”
Your breath caught, and you glanced up, feeling his gaze settle on you. Nervously, you shook your head, almost afraid to admit it. “No, I don’t think so.” you murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. The thought of dressing up and stepping into that grand hall, surrounded by so many watchful eyes, made you anxious.
Draco raised an eyebrow, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Not much of a gatherings type, are you?” he asked, his voice holding a teasing warmth that put you slightly at ease.
You nodded, letting out a soft sigh. “I’m… not really comfortable with big events. Especially when there are so many people. I feel like they’re all watching.” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
To your surprise, Draco chuckled, shaking his head as if he found your answer endearing. He leaned back slightly, folding his arms as he regarded you with that familiar, unreadable glint in his eyes. “You’re really something, you know that?” he said, his tone light. “Most people here would jump at the chance to go and show off, to be the centre of attention for the night.”
You looked down, your fingers fidgeting with the edge of your book. “Well, I’m… I’m not most people.” you replied, a faint smile tugging at your lips. Being around Draco had somehow made you a little braver, enough to admit the truth.
Draco studied you for a moment, his expression softening, as if he were seeing you in a new light. “Good!” he said finally, his voice so quiet it was almost a murmur. “Maybe that’s why I like being around you. You don’t care about any of that… nonsense.”
You looked up, surprised, meeting his gaze. There was something vulnerable in his expression, something he rarely showed to others. He paused, as if weighing his words, before finally speaking again.
“Would you… reconsider going? If…” He cleared his throat, his voice uncharacteristically hesitant. “If you had someone to go with who didn’t care about all that either?”
Your heart skipped a beat, your pulse quickening as you tried to process what he was saying. Was he… asking you to go with him?
“I… I don’t know.” you stammered, your voice barely above a whisper. “I mean… maybe if it was someone I… trusted to understand.”
A ghost of a smile crossed his lips, and he leaned a bit closer, his gaze steady and warm. “Well…” he said softly, “you know where to find me if you change your mind on going.”
He rose from his seat, picking up his book, but before leaving, he paused, casting you one last look. “Think about it, Y/N.” he added, his voice just above a whisper. “It might be nice.”
And with that, he left, leaving you alone in the library, your heart racing as you replayed his words in your mind.The idea filled you with both excitement and a nervous anticipation, a warmth that lingered even after he was gone.
You sat alone in the library, Draco’s words replayed over and over in your mind, the softness in his voice, the gentle way he had approached the question. You’d seen other boys ask girls to the ball with grand, showy gestures—flowers that burst into magical blooms, charmed notes that floated through the air, even songs sung embarrassingly loud in the corridors. But Draco… he hadn’t needed any of that.
There had been no spotlight, no audience, no pressure. He’d asked you so simply, as if he already understood that the idea of a big, public proposal would have made you want to disappear. Instead, he’d done it in his own, subtle way—quiet, sincere, and perfectly considerate of your feelings. It was exactly what you hadn’t known you wanted.
A warmth settled over you as you realised how well he seemed to understand you, how he could sense what made you nervous without you even saying it. You’d grown used to people overlooking your quiet nature or not understanding why you shied away from the spotlight, but Draco… Draco saw it and didn’t ask you to change. Instead, he made space for it, like he was offering you a safe corner in the middle of all the chaos around you.
You smiled softly to yourself, fiddling with the corner of your book once again. A part of you still felt nervous, the idea of going to the ball both thrilling and daunting. But another part of you—a quieter, braver part—whispered that maybe, just maybe, you could say yes. The thought of being there, in the midst of all the festive excitement, with only Draco beside you, made the idea feel a little less overwhelming.
With three weeks left until the ball, you found yourself caught between excitement and hesitation. Some days, you were certain you’d say yes, picturing yourself in the glow of the ballroom lights with Draco by your side. Other days, your nerves would flare up, reminding you of how out of place you might feel, surrounded by the dazzling gowns, the lively music, and the endless watchful eyes.
But through it all, Draco remained by your side, unbothered by your indecision. He continued to sit next to you in the library, quietly absorbed in his reading while you went through your own books. Sometimes, you’d exchange a few words or simply share the now familiar comfortable silence. He didn’t push or pry; he simply kept you company, content in the easy rhythm you had both fallen into. It was as though he had sensed your uncertainty and was giving you the time you needed.
Meanwhile, the Slytherin common room buzzed with excitement about the upcoming ball, with Draco’s friends, Blaise and Pansy, constantly teasing him about not having a date yet.
“Come on, Draco, who are you taking?” Blaise would press, nudging him with a knowing smirk. “Or do you plan to go alone, sulking in a corner all night?”
Draco would only shrug, an amused glint in his eyes as he brushed off their questions. “Maybe I prefer the idea of a quiet evening.” he’d reply, his tone nonchalant but his gaze occasionally drifting over to where you sat, studying or writing by the fire.
Pansy, however, wasn’t so easily deterred. She’d roll her eyes, crossing her arms with an exasperated sigh. “You’re Draco Malfoy! You could have anyone in this school on your arm.” she’d insist, clearly baffled by his indifference. “And you’re telling me you don’t even have someone in mind?”
Draco would simply smirk, a secretive look in his eye that none of them could quite decipher. “Maybe I’m just waiting for the right person to come around.” he’d say coolly, casting a glance in your direction before returning to his book.
Every time you overheard these exchanges, your heart would flutter. Though you didn’t show it, you felt a growing warmth at how patient he was, how he seemed unfazed by the usual social pressures that accompanied events like this. Draco could have easily chosen someone else by now, succumbed to the excitement like everyone else around him. But he hadn’t. He was waiting for you, with a quiet confidence that made you feel both comforted and nervous.
As the days ticked by, you found yourself inching closer to a decision. You were no longer as frightened by the idea of the ball, knowing Draco would be there, steady and reassuring as always. And finally, a few days before the event, you decided that maybe you were ready to say yes.
You were sitting  in the common room, quietly finishing up an essay when Draco joined you on the couch, his usual easy smile lighting up his face. He didn’t say anything at first, simply leaning back, his presence calm and familiar as always. The warmth of the fire crackled nearby, casting flickering shadows over the room, and you couldn’t help but feel how the gentle, golden light softened Draco’s sharp features, adding a warmth to him that no one else seemed to notice.
Your heart began to race, and you glanced down, gathering the courage to speak. You’d been turning this moment over in your mind for days, each thought punctuated by the question of whether you were ready. But seeing Draco here, just as patient as ever, you felt a small, shy smile forming on your lips.
He noticed your shift, his gaze sharpening slightly with curiosity. “What is it?” he asked, his tone low and gentle, as if he already sensed the weight of your words.
Taking a deep breath, you finally looked up, meeting his eyes. “Draco… about the ball…” you began, your voice barely above a whisper. You watched as his expression softened, the faintest spark lighting up in his gaze. He leaned forward, his focus entirely on you, his expression one of quiet anticipation.
“I’d like to go…” you said softly, your heart pounding so hard you felt it might echo in the quiet room. “With you.”
For a moment, silence stretched between you. His lips curved into a genuine, warm smile, one that seemed to hold a world of understanding, as if he knew just how much it had taken for you to say those words. His eyes softened, his gaze steady and reassuring, and you could see a look of satisfaction flashing across his face as he nodded.
“Good.” he replied, his voice carrying an unmistakable note of excitement beneath his usual cool demeanour. “I’ve been waiting.”
A small, relieved laugh escaped you, and Draco chuckled as well, his eyes never leaving yours. In that quiet moment, with only the crackling of the fire in the background, you felt the weight of your nerves slipping away. All that remained was a warmth in your chest, a quiet thrill that settled in your heart, as if every anxious thought had been soothed by the simple, steady comfort in his gaze.
To your complete surprise, Draco reached over, his hand finding yours, his fingers brushing yours in a way that was both gentle and confident. His thumb traced small circles over your knuckles, a gesture so tender it sent a pleasant shiver through you. You glanced down, unable to hide the blush creeping up your cheeks, but Draco simply smiled, his eyes holding a soft amusement as he took in your reaction.
“I wanted to ask you.” he murmured, his tone low, almost conspiratorial, “but I thought I’d give you time. I know you don’t like… big scenes.”
You nodded, feeling a warmth in your chest at how well he understood you. “Thank you… for waiting.” you replied, your voice soft.
He gave your hand a gentle squeeze, his fingers lingering as he replied, “You’re worth waiting for.”
The words hung in the air between you. You found yourself lost in his gaze, feeling a connection deeper than anything you’d ever felt before. And in that moment, you knew you’d made the right choice. Whatever nerves remained seemed to melt away in the warmth of his touch, replaced by a quiet excitement, a thrill at the thought of the night to come and the promise of a moment shared only between you.
~~~
It was the day of the ball. You stood in front of the mirror, nervously fiddling with the hem of your gown. The soft black fabric flowed around you like liquid midnight, gliding over your frame with a grace that felt foreign yet beautiful. It was far out of your comfort zone—elegant, sleek, and perhaps a bit too daring for someone used to hiding in the background. The gown covered you in silky waves, yet you couldn’t shake the feeling of being completely exposed.
Your fingers brushed over the card your mother had sent with the gown, her excitement evident in every carefully penned word. She had understood your hesitation, always supporting you in your quiet ways, but her joy at the thought of you stepping into the world was unmistakable. Her words were warm, encouraging, and they echoed in your mind as you took a deep, steadying breath.
With a final adjustment to your elegant hair clip, which held your carefully styled hair in place, you glanced at your reflection, hoping it conveyed even a fraction of the confidence you were trying to muster. You could still hear the gentle encouragement in your mother’s voice, and that small, steady reassurance felt like a quiet strength resting in your heart.
As you made your way down the stairs, you were met with the sight of other girls, adorned in gowns of every colour, dashing past with bright eyes and breathless excitement. They giggled, glancing over their shoulders as they rushed to their dates, their expressions alight with anticipation.
You lingered at the edge of the common room, feeling both a part of and apart from the thrill that filled the air. For a second you thought about abandoning the plan, about turning around to hide back into the safety of your dormitory. But you didn’t, you pushed forward. When you reached the bottom of the stairs, you stopped, breath catching in your throat as your eyes found Draco waiting near the entrance.
He looked striking in his formal attire, a tailored black suit that brought out the sharpness of his features and the cool grey of his eyes. He was watching the door, his expression carefully composed, but as soon as he saw you, his gaze softened, a flicker of warmth melting the usual coolness in his eyes.
For a moment, his gaze swept over you, and you could have sworn you saw the faintest hint of awe there, a subtle appreciation as his eyes lingered on the way the gown draped over you. He took a step closer, his hand extending towards you in a gesture that felt both formal and gentle.
“You look…” He paused, searching for the words, his usual smooth confidence giving way to something more genuine. “You look beautiful, Y/N.”
A blush crept up your cheeks, and you managed a small smile, your fingers brushing his as you took his hand. “Thank you.” you murmured, your voice soft. “You… you look amazing too.”
His lips curved into a slight smirk, but there was a softness to it that felt reserved only for you. “Ready?” he asked, his thumb brushing against your hand, sending a reassuring warmth through you.
With a small nod, you felt your nerves settle slightly. It was just you and Draco now, away from the giggling girls and the excited chatter. You stepped into the hallway, your hand in his, his grip steady, and you couldn’t help but feel grateful for the sense of calm he brought.
When you finally reached the doors to theGrand Hall, Draco paused, turning to you. “If it gets to be too much… just let me know.” he said quietly, his gaze warm and reassuring. “We can slip away, find a quiet corner somewhere. Just us.”
The kindness in his words, the unspoken promise of understanding, made your heart swell with gratitude. You felt the tension in your shoulders ease, the comfort of his presence settling over you like a gentle cloak.
“Thank you, Draco.” you said softly, squeezing his hand as you offered him a genuine smile.
As the two of you entered the grand hall, the immediate stares from students around you made you instinctively shrink back, your nerves flaring up under the weight of so many curious eyes. You moved a little closer to Draco, letting him act as a buffer between you and the crowd. Sensing your discomfort, he slid a reassuring hand to your waist, pulling you close in a subtle but protective gesture. The warmth of his touch grounded you, his presence like a steady anchor amidst the swirling noise and lights of the hall.
With his hand on your waist, Draco guided you to a quieter corner where he pulled out a chair and gestured for you to sit beside him at one of the tables. You gratefully took the seat, feeling safer tucked close to his side. His casual confidence helped ease some of your nervousness, and though you couldn’t escape the occasional glances thrown your way, you felt a bit more at ease with him near.
It didn’t take long for his friends to spot him. Blaise, Pansy, and Theo approached the table, each wearing expressions that ranged from amused to downright mischievous. Blaise was the first to speak, his lips quirking up into a teasing grin as he looked between you and Draco.
“Had to go for the quiet one, huh, Draco?” he teased, waggling his eyebrows. “Didn’t want to risk someone who’d actually talk back?”
Draco rolled his eyes, but his hand remained steady on your waist, not moving an inch away. “Some of us value peace and quiet, Blaise.” he replied smoothly, his tone laced with just enough sarcasm to make his friend chuckle.
Pansy leaned in, her eyes narrowing playfully as she looked you over, though her expression wasn’t unfriendly. “Didn’t think I’d see you at one of these, Draco.” she said, her voice teasing. “Or you, for that matter.” she added, nodding at you with a raised eyebrow.
Draco’s arm tightened around you slightly, his tone cool but lighthearted. “I’m full of surprises tonight, apparently.” he replied, glancing down at you with a small, private smile that made your cheeks warm. His friends exchanged knowing looks, a mix of surprise and amusement clear on their faces as they took in the uncharacteristically soft look Draco wore when he looked at you.
Theo crossed his arms, a smirk forming on his face. “Never thought I’d see the day when Draco Malfoy would be so… domesticated.” he joked, earning a snicker from Blaise.
Draco shot him a look that was both annoyed and amused, shaking his head. “Better domesticated than chasing after a loudmouth all night.” he replied, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Blaise raised his hands in surrender, chuckling. “Fine, fine. Guess we’ll leave you two ‘quiet ones’ to yourselves, then.” He winked at you before they moved to join the rest of the crowd, casting a few playful glances back in your direction.
As they walked away, you felt yourself relax a little more, the warmth of Draco’s hand still resting on your waist a quiet reminder of his presence. He looked down at you, his gaze softening.
“Sorry about them.” he murmured, giving your waist a gentle squeeze. “They’re… not exactly subtle.”
You shook your head, managing a small smile. “It’s okay. They seem… nice, in their own way.”
Draco smirked, his expression softening as he looked at you. “Nice might be a bit of a stretch. But they’re loyal. And they’re less insufferable once you get to know them.”
You chuckled softly, your nerves easing bit by bit as he continued to keep you close, shielding you from the attention of the room. The music played on, and though the hall was filled with laughter, chatter, and the dazzling movements of dancers, in your corner of the room, it felt like it was just the two of you. And with Draco by your side, you found yourself starting to enjoy the night in a way you hadn’t expected.
Draco never pushed you to join the others on the dance floor or to mingle with the lively crowd that filled the hall. Instead, he seemed perfectly content to sit by your side, his presence calm and reassuring, as if this corner of the grand hall were your own private sanctuary. He leaned back, relaxed, his gaze soft as he looked at you, and the two of you settled into a quiet rhythm, chatting in low voices amidst the distant music and laughter.
You found yourself growing more at ease, the earlier tension gradually slipping away. Draco had an effortless way of drawing you out, his questions thoughtful, never prying. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know you—asking about your favourite things, your thoughts on Hogwarts, little stories from your past. With every answer, he’d listen intently, offering the occasional smile or chuckle that made you feel… seen, in a way you hadn’t expected.
And he, in turn, shared parts of himself that you could tell he rarely let others see. You learned about his favourite places at Hogwarts, like a small alcove by the lake where he liked to go to think, or the dusty, hidden corners of the library where he would escape when he wanted peace. He even told you about his love for quiet nights spent by the common room fire, when he could let his guard down without feeling the weight of others’ expectations.
Despite still feeling slightly on edge, there was a warmth in Draco’s presence that made the evening unexpectedly pleasant. He didn’t seem to mind your shy responses, your glances down as you fiddled with the edges of your gown, or the way you occasionally looked out at the crowd with slight apprehension. He simply adjusted, keeping the conversation easy and gentle, as if he understood exactly what you needed.
At one point, the music shifted to a slow, softer tune, and you caught a glimpse of couples drifting gracefully across the dance floor. Your heart fluttered slightly, wondering if Draco would ask you to dance. Part of you was terrified at the thought of being in the spotlight, of stepping out onto the floor where everyone could see. But a quieter, hopeful part of you wondered if he’d pull you in close, if his touch would feel as steady as it did now.
Draco must have noticed your gaze, because he leaned forward slightly, his expression thoughtful. “Do you want to dance?” he asked softly, his tone gentle, leaving you the choice.
You hesitated, feeling a mixture of longing and nerves, and shook your head slightly. “I… I don’t know if I’m ready for that.” you admitted, a shy smile tugging at your lips.
He nodded, a warm understanding in his eyes as he settled back into his chair, his hand still resting on yours. “That’s perfectly fine.” he murmured. “I’d rather sit here with you anyway.”
A comfortable silence fell between you as he continued to hold your hand, his thumb tracing gentle patterns over your fingers. It was a simple gesture, but it made you feel safe, like he was willing to shield you from the world outside your quiet bubble. He didn’t push, didn’t ask you to do anything you weren’t comfortable with. He was just… there, content to be beside you, in whatever way you needed him to be.
As the night went on, you found yourself relaxing more, the low murmur of his voice and his quiet laughter easing the last of your nerves. You’d never imagined that something as simple as sitting beside him, exchanging quiet words, could feel so intimate, so genuine. It was as if he were letting you into a part of himself that no one else got to see, and in turn, you felt safe enough to let down your own walls, if only just a little.
In that moment, with his hand in yours and the soft glow of the candlelight reflecting in his eyes, you realised that this was exactly what you’d hoped for—a night spent in quiet companionship, away from the noise and expectations of the world. Just the two of you, in a space that felt like it was made for you alone.
And somehow, that was enough. More than enough.
You glanced up at Draco, feeling the now-familiar warmth spread across your cheeks, and took a deep breath. Gathering the courage, you looked into his eyes, feeling a small, shy smile tug at your lips.
“Draco…” you murmured, your voice soft, “I… I think I would like to dance with you. Just… away from everyone else.”
His eyes lit up, a gentle smile crossing his face as he gave a slight nod, understanding instantly. He rose from his seat without hesitation, his hand extended towards you. You placed your hand in his, feeling a spark of excitement as he guided you through the hall, weaving between tables and clusters of students, until you reached the doors of the Grand Hall.
Stepping outside, you were greeted by the cold winter’s night air, the faint echo of the ball’s music drifting into the quiet. Draco led you down a pathway lined with twinkling fairy lights, stopping at a secluded spot beneath a large, ancient tree. Here, the soft notes of the music were still audible, blending with the peaceful sounds of the night. It felt magical, almost as if this place had been waiting for the two of you.
Draco turned to face you, his hands gently resting on your waist as he looked into your eyes, his expression warm and inviting. The moonlight cast a soft glow over his features, accentuating the rare tenderness you’d come to recognize in his gaze.
“Is this okay?” he asked, his voice low, as if speaking too loudly might break the spell of the moment.
You nodded, your heart fluttering as you placed your hands on his shoulders, feeling the warmth of his presence wrap around you. Slowly, he guided you into a gentle sway, the two of you moving to the distant melody drifting from the hall. There were no grand gestures, no fancy steps—just the simple rhythm of your bodies moving together, perfectly in sync.
For a moment, everything else faded away. There were no prying eyes, no expectations, just the two of you in this quiet corner of the world. You looked up at him, your cheeks still rosy, feeling the thrill of the dance and the intimacy of being so close.
Draco’s gaze softened as he looked down at you, his voice barely a whisper. “You know, I never thought I’d enjoy a night like this so much.” he murmured. “But… you make it easy.”
Your heart skipped a beat, and a soft smile graced your lips as you looked back at him. “I feel the same way.” you replied, surprised at how natural the words felt. “I didn’t think I’d even be here… but you’ve made tonight feel… special.”
He chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving yours. “I think it’s you who’s made it special, Y/N.”
The music swelled in the background, he pulled you a little closer, his hands firm yet gentle on your waist. You let yourself relax in his embrace, feeling safe and cherished in a way you hadn’t expected.
The two of  you moved together in quiet harmony, the world around you seemed to fall away, leaving only the soft music, the gentle sway of your bodies, and the warmth of Draco’s embrace. He pulled you just a little closer, resting his chin gently on the top of your head as you nestled against his chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat filled your ears, calming and comforting, grounding you in this perfect moment.
You let your eyes close, feeling the warmth of his body radiate through you, and it was as though you could both feel each other’s unspoken emotions in that silence. The night air was crisp, but in his arms, you felt nothing but warmth.
After a few moments, he sighed, the gentle exhale stirring your hair. He shifted slightly, and you felt his chin lift as he looked down at you. You glanced up, meeting his gaze, seeing a softness in his eyes that made your heart race.
“Y/N.” he murmured, his voice low and vulnerable. He paused, as though choosing his words carefully, his expression uncharacteristically uncertain. “I… I’ve wanted to ask you something for a while now.”
You felt your breath catch as his hand gently traced along your waist, the tender pressure sending a pleasant shiver through you.
He swallowed, and his gaze held yours, steady but filled with a quiet intensity. “Would it… would it be okay if I kissed you?”
Your cheeks grew warm, and you felt a nervous, shy smile tugging at your lips. The question hung between you, and though you felt a rush of nerves, you also felt a quiet, undeniable thrill that made you want to lean in and close the space between you.
Biting your lip, you nodded slowly, your gaze dropping to his chest for a moment before lifting to meet his eyes again. “Yes… I’d like that.” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
A gentle smile curved his lips as he leaned down, his hand sliding to cup the side of your face. His thumb brushed softly along your cheek, his touch tender and reassuring, as if he wanted to make sure you felt safe in his arms.
He closed the distance between you, his lips brushing against yours in the lightest, softest of kisses. It was gentle, unhurried, filled with a warmth that made your heart flutter. His hand held you close, cradling your face as he kissed you again, a little more deeply this time, and you felt yourself melt into him, the world around you disappearing entirely.
When he finally pulled back, he rested his forehead against yours, his eyes closed, a soft smile playing on his lips. His hand stayed on your cheek, his thumb brushing soothingly along your skin.
“Thank you.” he whispered, his voice a gentle murmur in the night. “For trusting me… and for tonight.”
You smiled shyly, your fingers tracing the lapel of his suit jacket as you looked up at him, still a little breathless. For a moment, you simply let yourself take in his warmth, his gaze soft and unguarded in a way you knew he rarely showed.
But instead of replying, you surprised even yourself as you stood up on your tiptoes, leaning in to press your lips against his once more. It was a bold move, uncharacteristic of your usually reserved self, but something about this moment felt right, like it was meant for just the two of you.
Draco’s initial surprise softened almost instantly as he returned the kiss, his hands gently moving to your waist, pulling you closer. This kiss was deeper, filled with a newfound confidence and passion that sent your heart racing. When you finally pulled away, both of you were smiling, his forehead resting against yours as you shared a quiet, almost breathless laugh.
“Oh wow?” he murmured, his voice low, full of surprise.
You chuckled softly, feeling a little more daring than before. “Maybe I should be bold more often.” you whispered, meeting his gaze with a new spark of confidence.
He smiled, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “I’d certainly encourage it.”
In that moment, with the quiet music playing in the background and his arms wrapped around you, it felt as though you had found something rare and precious—a feeling that went beyond words, beyond the excitement of the ball, and straight to the heart of what it meant to share something true.
You weren’t sure what would happen between you and Draco after today. But as the two of you stood together, swaying gently under the stars, you knew that this night was a memory you would hold onto forever.
