Rafe is outside on the balcony, trying to get some work done while Sofia is inside with you in the living room and watching some tv peacefully as he assumes.

He tilts his head a little when he hears voices, more specifically you, getting louder and waits for a moment to see if Sofia can handle the situation on her own, only stepping in if he thinks it's necessary.

It seems like it is one of those times as he keeps hearing you complain or whine and he sighs, turning off his laptop he gets up from his seat to go inside.

"Sweetie, you had enough screentime for today-" Sofia says a bit more sternly than she usually does, not expecting you to suddenly slap her hand when she tries to get the remote from your hands.

Your eyes widen in realization but before you could say something you jump in your spot on the sofa when Rafe's voice startles you.

"Hey! What the hell was that?" He asks as he strides over to you, yanking the remote out of your grip and glaring down at you. "Huh?"

You shrink in on yourself, lowering your head in shame, toying with your hands nervously but Rafe was having none of it, grabbing your chin to make you face him again.

"We do not hit anyone in this house, you understand me? Never." He says, not phased by the tears that are already welling up in your eyes.

"Rafe, it's fine-" Sofia tries to calm him down, but he won't back down on this, not this time.

He knows Sofia is too soft and keen on stuff like this but he draws the line at the kind of disrespect like you hitting or swearing at one of them.

"No, it's not." He states, momentarily turning his gaze to Sofia before back down at you, still gripping your chin. "Time out. Now."

The second he lets go, you scramble off the couch and towards the empty corner, sitting down and facing the wall with your knees pulled up to your chest, sniffling quietly.

"15 minutes you'll sit there and think about what you just did and I better don't see you moving an inch." He warns and you nod timidly.

"Yes daddy..." You whimper, resting your cheek on your knee.

It feels like an eternity, sitting there alone with your thoughts. You didn't mean to hit Sofia, you really didn't. It was just a moment of stubbornness and frustration of not getting more screentime and now you hurt your mama.

The guilt is deep and you keep crying quietly to yourself, wiping at your nose and cheeks repeatedly. You have started drawing shapes on your other knee until Rafe finally tells you that the time is over, turning your head to see him and Sofia sitting on the couch.

You slowly get off the ground, still sniffling and hiccuping as you make your way over to stand in front of them, your eyes fixated on your socked-clad feet. "I- m'sorry..."

"What are you sorry for?" Rafe presses, crossing his arms over his chest, expecting you to apologize to Sofia properly.

"M'sorry f-for hittin' mama. Won' do it 'gain." You mumble, sniffing one time.

"I forgive you, baby." Sofia smiles warmly, her hand massaging the nape of Rafe's tense neck and squeezing one time for him to say something, silently telling him to be gentle with you now.

After a moment he uncrosses his arms, patting his thigh and you instantly get comfortable on his lap at his permission, nuzzling your face in the crook of his neck.

"Good job for taking your punishment, proud of you..." He says, kissing your forehead and a small smile forms on his face when he watches you take Sofia's hand that you slapped earlier and press a gentle kiss on the back of it.

˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ The court is everything you’d expect. It’s dreamy, where every moment feels like a soft haze of colors, magic, and an odd, beautiful vernorexia…There's an air of surreal charm in the corridors—where the light filters through the icy windows of Cair Paravel. There is always a beautiful symphony playing from a distance…no one could tell if it’s the birds or just the royal musician.

Life is draped in curtains of soft pinks and pale blues, the vibes are obviously inspired by Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. Everything is soft, everything so delicate, something straight out of a mid-day reverie born during a very insipid maths class. But, the Narnian court however much may it coruscate under the incandescent light of purity and love is not without gossip and schemes…because where there is flaw, there is fun.

It is this resplendent mix of regal elegance and quirky charm. There's an ethereal vibe, like everything is a bit out of a dream, mingling serious matters of state with well, meretriciously swimming and giggling with the Pevensie siblings in the great Narnian sea that floats before the castle.  The courtiers are strange characters, each a little more eccentric, but also wrapped in warmth and mischief, but not real malice. Even the fauns and centaurs are strangely... elegant?

Every day is another opportunity for a highfalutin show of extraordinarily designed and embroidered outfits. Here even the most ridiculously matched clothing is gaped at. Ordinary is the biggest insult of all…a paradise indeed.

Magic oozes off the walls, the same walls that breathe and are alive, the floors carry an irrefragable charm and knowingness…

My day slides by as smooth as butter on a hot pan. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁⋆｡𖦹°⭒˚｡⋆

₊˚⊹♡ 𝓘 wake up mid being crushed in the arms of my husband, Edmund…I look at his sleeping face and I know I am content, I know I am where I am meant to be, in his arms, in his heart…

The ever brooding King now radiates the subtle confidence of someone who has found peace. He's regal, but not in the stiff, formal way but there’s a warmth to him, a playful, mirthful spark in his eyes that radiates mischief with his every blink. He wears his resplendent crown on his brow as he wears his sarcasm, just as effortlessly.

We waltz around royal duties and stolen moments where we meet in corridors and gardens where nothing matters but the two of us, where he leans over and whispers with the most deadpan expression about the most absurd things, making me laugh until we end up with our stomachs aching.

⟡ ݁₊ . 𝓐nd oh, the feasts—so much food. It's a never-ending parade of luxurious treats that somehow feel entirely homemade, magic being the special ingredient. The table groans under the weight of pastries, chocolates, and fruits straight from the enchanted forests, I giggle with Lucy, as we sneak a bit of honeyed wine when no one’s looking.

⋆. 𐙚 𝓣hen there is the daily picnic in the gardens with Susan where we gossip about the court while eating chocolate soaked strawberries as our giggles mix into a melody famously called girlhood. We share secrets, I of Edmund, she of her enormous queue of suitors, whom we make fun of together. It’s more magical than even magic can be. She’s after all, my favorite Pevensie (don’t tell Edmund).

✶⋆.˚ 𝓒ouncil meetings come next, where Peter glares and taunts at me because he is still wary of my intentions with his little brother, like bitch chill???? But I understand that it is nothing personal just his overprotective paranoid superman complexed brother persona oozing out of him. But spoiler alert: I do grow on him later on. This rivalry is just for the plot.

𝓝ow to conclude, the Narnian court is a soft blur, a tranquil soft blur, dreamlike but somehow so vivid and real. It is the little things like how Edmund’s eyes light up when he says something ridiculous or how Lucy despite being the youngest seems to have an air of knowingness about her, how Susan glances at me and rolls her eyes when one of her suitors approaches her or how Peter always seeks valiantly out for his siblings no matter what, that makes Narnia, Narnia…that makes our rule the golden age…where even the most ordinary things sparkle

ᯓ★ The kids go to college! SPSU is a state funded university free to all the graduating students of the state of Colorado. 

ᯓ★ Located on Stark's Pond, SPSU currently has an enrollment of 11,000 students, 9,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students. SPSU has 12 sororities and 12 fraternities, as well as over 130 clubs and D1 athletics. 

ᯓ★ SPSU is most known for their football, hockey, volleyball, gymnastics and competitive dance team. 

ᯓ★ SPSU offers 95 undergraduate majors, and 12 concentration for masters programs.

ᯓ★ The DuPonts are a French-Peruvian family of 6! They moved to South Park when the kids were still in elementary school, and have lived here ever since. The DuPonts moved to be closer to their cousins, the Tuckers.

Once Sofia’s dad had mentioned Hollis’ strange request, she knew she had to tell Rafe. He’d told her in the morning he was going to the Country Club with Topper meaning his phone was on silent, so Sofia got in the car and drove up to Figure 8 to tell him as soon as possible.

Quickly parking and exiting her car, she walked up to the table they usually loitered by, hearing her boyfriend’s voice. Ruthie and Topper were also there, Sofia honing on to their words.

“I mean your girlfriend right?” She heard Ruthie say, her schadenfreude laced words a telltale sign it was her who was speaking.

“Sofia? What about her?” Rafe replied, sounding confused. His words were slurred, as if he’d had a couple drinks. The hair on Sofia’s nape stood on end as she realised they were taking about her.

She watched Ruthie wince dramatically, her eyes wet with glee, whilst Topper glanced downwards, as if he knew where the conversation was heading.

“She’s pretty pogue, isn’t she?” Ruthie said, an irksome smirk plastered across her face. Hearing her words so tinged with such disdain made Sofia seethe with rage. She had enough– she wasn’t going to let Ruthie bitch about her behind her back.

Sauntering up to the table, Sofia revelled in the look on Ruthie and Topper’s faces, their eyes widening in shock, and mouths suspended in surprise on noticing her walk up to them.

“Hey,” she greeted sweetly, settling beside Rafe, who looked just as surprised. She wrapped her arm around Rafe’s, looking up at him with her doe eyes.

“Sof– I thought you were with your family today?” Rafe said, as Ruthie and Topper surveyed them.

“I needed to tell you something and it couldn’t wait, so I thought I’d come down. What were you guys taking about just now?” She asked, her gaze panning on to the other two people at the table.

“Oh nothing,” Topper spluttered out, visage twisted as if it hurt him to lie.

“Really? I thought I heard my name?”

Sofia glanced back up at Rafe, her grip tightening on his arm.

“I don’t know– Ruthie you were going to say something?” He directed his question directed to the girl.

“It was nothing,” she muttered, taking a sip of her drink as her eyes darkened in annoyance.

“Sorry if I interrupted anything,” Sofia simpered, a faux sincerity clinging to her words; she knew just how to tug at Rafe’s heartstrings. He would always be conscious about making her feel welcomed in his friend group– because he knew she didn’t like spending time with them. So none of them (Ruthie, Topper or Kelce) would poke fun at her second hand car, nor would they say anything when she’d work at the club and serve them their drinks, instead politely thanking her with a smile– because they knew if they did, they’d have Rafe to answer to.

He slung an easy arm around her small frame. “No don’t be sorry, I’m glad you’re here,” he smiled, drawing her into a soft embrace, his lips brushing over her forehead.

Sofia bristled with satisfaction at seeing Ruthie and Topper shuffle about in awkwardness as Rafe beamed down at her with his usual dopey grin.

“What was it you needed to tell me?” Rafe asked, his attention solely on her. Sofia wondered what he would’ve said if she hadn’t intervened– if he would’ve defended her in front of Ruthie or humiliated her instead?

“It’s private.” She darted her eyes quickly to Ruthie and Topper, as Rafe led her away, his arm still slouched on her shoulders. He gave Topper a brief nod of the head as a goodbye, ignoring Ruthie and walking over to a quieter corner of the club.

“Is everything ok?”

Sofia nodded, momentarily forgetting about Hollis and her shady offer, her mind now consumed with insecurity.

“I heard Ruthie call me a pogue.” She mumbled, eyeing Rafe’s reaction. His smiled slowly faded, the brightness in his eyes subsiding.

“Shit, she was just stirring Sofia, you know how she is.”

“I know, I know– I just was wondering what you were gonna say to her? You know, if I didn’t show up when I did.”

Rafe licked his lips, jaw straining, discomfort radiating out of his pores.

“You don’t like me any less because of it…right?” She added when he didn’t answer, voice almost a whisper. Sofia felt silly, but her mind was addled with the thought that Rafe was perhaps embarrassed– especially in front of Ruthie and Topper, two kooks notorious for their bitter rivalry with anyone south of the island.

“Of course not…look Sofia, I like you for you. Fuck Ruthie and Topper, they just like to talk shit, ok?”

“Ok,” she breathed with a shaky inhale, wanting to desperately believe him. “You would defend me right? If they ever did that– talk horribly about me?”

Sofia’s gaze flickered between his irises, gauging the contraction of the pupil, the sheen of emotion– Rafe almost looked…guilty. It unsettled Sofia making her question his sincerity.

“Of course I would. You’re my girl.”

Sofia smiled as she couldn’t help but swell with giddiness as he slid his hands around her waist, tugging her closer. He always said that– she was his girl. But they’ve never defined the relationship. They were never ‘dates’ but ‘hangouts’, it was never ‘living together’ but ‘sleeping over’ it was never ‘girlfriend’ but ‘his girl’.

The strange coalescence of lexicon, where one word became another, where their status floated about in the ether, never defined, never locked down, always existing in a daydream, sometimes bothered Sofia. But whatever they had, (this intangible, undefinable thing), was special to her hence she was wary not to ruin it. So she let words like kook and pogue vanish around them into the firmament encircling their relationship…they became Rafe and Sofia, and in their daydream state, that was enough.

“Ok, sorry I just– I worry you know? I’m not like your friends, I’m not like Ruthie.”

“You’re saying that as if it’s a bad thing,” he joked, a little smirk tugging at his lips.

Sofia laughed softly, “I know…sorry.”

“Stop apologising baby, let’s go get something to eat yeah? And then you can tell me what you wanted to say…or do you have to go back to your family?”

“I could go for lunch.” She smiled playfully, hooking his arm with his.

“Good, I missed you today, I’m happy you came.”

“Yeah?” She teased as the two walked arm in arm out of the bar house and down to the restaurant.

“Yeah…It’s always better with you.”

Sofia’s cheeks bloomed pink with blush, his candour piercing right through her heart making it overflow with glee.

If it wasn’t for his friends, Rafe Cameron would’ve been perfect.

The two walked past Ruthie and Topper, who sat at the bar ordering another round of drinks. Sofia gave them a small smile, a strange feeling of protection cast over her as she was slotted in Rafe’s hold.

Being his girl was something she cherished but she also hoped to be more than that. Sofia wanted a companion, partner, a better half. And she wanted Rafe to be that for her. Maybe one day, outside the confines of Kildare Island, outside the boundaries of kook and pogue, they’d find that together, their daydream becoming a reality.
