16. “It’s okay, I couldn’t sleep anyway” please! Thank you already if you’re taking the prompt. I’m excited with what you come up with! 🤗💛

There are nights that TK just can’t sleep; it doesn’t happentoo often; fortunately, work tends to knock him out for the most part. But somenights no matter how much he tries, he can’t make his brain shut up.

Tonight is one of those nights, he and Carlos go to bedaround midnight after having a nice dinner out, before coming back to Carlos’place to be in each other’s arms. They pull away, out of breath, but happy.Carlos stays awake long enough to clean up, brush his lips across TK’s, andwhisper a soft ‘good night’ before he’s out like a light. TK thinks he’sgoing to quickly follow but then…just doesn’t.

He lies wide awake, turning on his side to watch hisboyfriend sleep. Carlos is on his stomach, face soft with sleep as he faceshim, and all TK can do is stare. The light from outside filtering through thewindow curtain he forgot to close, illuminates the room enough that he can makeout his face.

Carlos is gorgeous, TK has known this since the first timehe allowed himself to really look at him. He has striking features like astrong jawline, a straight nose, thick eyebrows, full lips, and soulful browneyes that TK gets lost in every time.

People like to mention his eyes, commenting on the prettyshade of green, but for TK, there is nothing more beautiful than the brownmixed with specks of amber in Carlos’ eyes, especially when they look at TKwith so much affection and tenderness, and he still doesn’t know how he everbecame worthy of those feelings.

Carlos is beautiful, and TK loves him.

The thought hits him square in the chest, stealing hisbreath.

How the hell did that just sneak up on him?

“Whatever you’re thinking about, it’s way too heavy for thetime of night,” Carlos mumbles, his voice thick with sleep.

TK looks down at him, his heart pounding as he looks atCarlos with new eyes.

“Shit,” TK curses quietly, giving Carlos an apologetic look.“I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“It’s okay, I couldn’t sleep anyway,” Carlos reassureshim, and TK huffs out a soft laugh at the obvious lie. Carlos gives him a smilein return, aware that he’s been caught. He sits up, turning on the lamp on hisside of the bed before turning back to face him.

TK watches with a warm, happy feeling as Carlos adorablyrubs the sleep out of his eyes before he’s completely alert and focused on TK.

“What’s up?” he asks softly as he rests back against theheadboard. “You couldn’t sleep?”

“Busy brain,” TK answers back just as quietly, his heartskipping a beat at the kind and understanding look Carlos gives him.

He reaches for TK’s hand, tugging him forward. TK goeseasily, resting his head against Carlos’ chest, a leg thrown over his own.

“So, what’s going through that busy head of yours?” Carlos tapsat his temple before he starts running his fingers through TK’s hair.

“I was thinking that you’re beautiful,” TK answers. He tiltshis head up, watching with a smile when Carlos lets out a laugh.

“My stunning beauty keeps you up at night?” Carlosquestions, a grin on his face as he looks at TK with an amused twinkle in hiseyes.

“Yes,” TK whispers, waiting nervously as Carlos’ laughtertrails off, and he gets a surprised look on his face.

“I’m flattered,” he jokes lightly, pressing a kiss against TK’shairline when he huffs.

“Flattered, right, more like smug,” TK grumbleswithout any heat behind it, smiling into Carlos’ chest when his boyfriend chucklesagain.

They’re both quiet for a moment, just enjoying each otherwhen Carlos speaks once more. “Anything else you’re thinking about?”

TK doesn’t speak for a bit; what he realized earlier beatinglike a drum under his ribcage.

“TK?” Carlos questions quietly, and TK knows Carlos hasnoticed that he’s gone tense in his arms.

TK pulls away from him to sit up. Carlos follows, sitting upstraight with a concerned look on his face.

“You okay?”

TK smiles at him, hoping to ease the worried expression.“When you were sleeping, I was thinking about how beautiful you are,” TK repeatshimself. It earns him another smile from Carlos. “And then I thought,” hepauses, taking a deep breath to calm his rapid heartbeat before continuing.“That I love you.”

Carlos’ eyes go wide at his answer, his lips parting insurprise, and he doesn’t say anything for a moment. The bedroom is silent exceptfor TK’s heart pounding in his ears.

“Do you mean that?” Carlos asks, his voice no higher than awhisper, his eyes bright and full of hope, they’re the prettiest things TK hasever seen.

TK nods, he goes to say it again, but Carlos covers hismouth with his own, kissing him so hard they fall backwards on the bed. Helaughs breathlessly as Carlos continues to kiss him wherever he can.

“I take it you love me too,” TK giggles, his heart burstingwith joy and love as Carlos kisses his way down his jaw, his laughter trailingoff when Carlos pulls back to give him a gentle look.

“In my life, TK,” Carlos starts, he touches his foreheadagainst TK’s and exhales. “I’ve never loved anyone more than I love you.”

I love your latest Tarlos fic. It’s so well written and easy to read without it being bland. I can also very well imagine this being TK’s state of mind. So kudos to you! It definitely made my evening after seeing all the negativity out there. Thank you for sharing it. You’re a very talented writer and I can’t wait to read more from you!

This is one hell of a compliment! To be honest, I wrote that piece on around half an hour at work today because it wouldn't stop bothering me.

I feel that we haven't really explored TKʼs psyche yet. He always seems so collected, so contained, and apart from the bar brawl and lashing out at Carlos, we haven't seen him breaking down. He takes his father's illness in stride and hides what he feels. He talks almost nonchalantly about Alex being his soulmate. We see the image he wants to project - an image that has cracks we can see through. We don't see him.

For me, TK is someone who's struggling with life. He tries his best and I bet he might fail, but he's still fighting. That's what the fic was intended to mean. I am so so happy that you liked it!

               “Am I crazy?” Alex suddenly asked, setting a stack of magazines on the bar with a hard THUMP.

               Michael looked at him startled, quickly pulling his bottle of beer out of the way before it got pushed over. “Why are you crazy?”

               “No,” Alex huffed, “I’m not saying I am, I’m asking if you think I’m crazy because, see, I always thought that getting married was about being eternally bound to the person you love.”

               Michael’s brows furrowed, though the corners of his lips perked upward. “Isn’t it?”

               “Apparently not. Both Isobel and Maria agree that it’s about,” he gestured to the magazines that had tipped over, stretching across the bar in front of them, “that. Wedding attire and venues and flower arrangements and menu plans and…” he groaned, his head falling onto the table.

               Michael rubbed his back soothingly. “I can’t wait to see what their wedding looks like.”

               “I dared mention City Hall.”

               He raised a brow. “Hence the crazy?”

               Alex nodded. “Hence the crazy.” He sat up. “Am I? I just want to marry you, is it dumb that I don’t care how?”

               Michael’s smile widened, and he brought his hand around Alex’s head, pulling him in to kiss his cheek. His forehead rested against Alex’s temple, and he said, “Maybe we’re both crazy then.”

               Alex smiled, then pulled back, his brow raised. “You don’t seem half as stressed with this as I do.”

               Michael scoffed. “You kidding? You said yes, we’re getting married. Fricking Valenti couldn’t piss me off now.”

               “Oh, not even him, huh?” Alex laughed. It quickly died down to a hum as he brought his hand up to hold Michael’s jaw, and he pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “I have a fiancé. I feel so grown up.”

               Michael’s eyes were closed as he tilted his head, attempting to catch Alex’s lips again, and he smirked, dragging his hand down Alex’s back. “You know, if you want, we can skip to the wedding night.”

               “Romantic,” Alex said, his body leaning in to Michael’s touch. His lips neared Michael’s, and he immediately pulled back with a gasp. “Stop,” he said, pushing Michael away, his cheeks red. “Stop it.”

               “What? Why?”

               “I’m not making out with you in the middle of a bar.”

               “Wh – Alex –”

               “No, it always escalates, Guerin.” Michael’s fingers dug into Alex’s back and he laughed, slapping the cowboy’s arm away. “I’m serious, don’t touch me. Not until the wedding.”

               Michael narrowed his eyes, smiling uncertainly until he realized that Alex wasn’t kidding, and his face fell. “That’s a joke, right? Tell me that’s a joke!”

               “It’s only a week away!”

               “Only a week, he says,” Michael said incredulously, and took a big gulp of his drink, unable to stop until the bottle was snatched away from him. He looked to see Alex finishing it, and his shoulders slumped. “You’re so lucky I love you, you have no idea.”

               “I have some idea,” he said, leaning in enough to barely peck Michael’s lips, pulling back quickly before Michael could hold him close. “Vows.”

               Michael raised a brow. “What?”

               Alex sighed, slumping in his chair, watching Michael expectantly. “There are fourteen types of forks.”

               Michael blinked. “Does that matter?”

               Alex scoffed. “Don’t repeat that question in front of Isobel. But that’s how my day went. I got to hear about every detail of what constitutes a perfect wedding, down to the folded napkins. And in all of it, I have to admit, one thing seemed appealing.”

               “The vows,” he gathered.

               Alex’s smile softened, and he looked at his lap where, Michael noticed fondly, he was playing with his fingers. “I know it sounds really stupid, but… I don’t know, I didn’t have anyone growing up who told me that – that they loved me. There was never anyone who I could trust would do anything to protect me. Until you. And I guess I just, I don’t know, got excited to hear it.” He glanced at Michael, and huffed a chuckle, scratching the back of his head. “Never mind, ignore that, I’m not – it’s been a long day, and –”

               “I’d die for you, Alex,” Michael said, and Alex blinked, his smile turned small. “You don’t need vows to know that, I’ll tell you whenever you want.”

               “Guerin…”

               “Because, I promise you, if Isobel and Maria ever decide on the right silverware, and we actually do get married, there are three things that I am most definitely not going to say in front of our friends and family. The first is that I’ll love you till the day I die. The second is that you’re walking sex, and it takes everything I have to keep myself from slamming into you every time I see you, but since we’re getting married, there’s no reason to hold back anymore.”

               “Well, public decency’s actually a thing, Guerin, so technically –”

               “—And the third,” he leaned forward, ignoring Alex’s input, “is that I would, without question, trade my life for yours,” he covered Alex’s hand with his own, and shrugged a shoulder, “because you’re Alex, and you’ve always meant more to me than anyone in the universe could. Even more than me.”

               Alex looked at Michael, not with shock, but with a fondness that Michael didn’t think he’d ever get used to, a fondness that he – though he would never admit it to Alex – was looking forward to seeing more than anything else.

               “So,” he sighed, sitting back, though his hand stayed with Alex, “there are your not-vows, because I don’t need some old cliché wedding rule telling me when and how to tell you my feelings for you. Those are our moments, they’re private, and they’re just – they’re ours, Alex, so don’t limit me with a vow.”

               Michael didn’t look at Alex after that, he didn’t think he could without revealing the heavy blush on his cheeks, and while he may have expected a chuckle or a soft kiss, he definitely hadn’t expected Alex’s next words.

               “Don’t,” he said softly, and Michael looked to him with a frown.

               “Don’t?”

               Alex moved close enough to him to whisper. “Don’t say you’d give up your life.”

               “I would –”

               “It scares me, Guerin,” he said, both hands holding Michael’s.

               He stared, then nodded, “Then what do you want me to say?”

               The corner of Alex’s lips rose as he searched Michael’s face, his hold on Michael’s hand tightening. “Say you’ll fight, and that no matter what, you’ll live for me.”

               Michael swallowed. “I’ll fight, and no matter what, I’ll live for you.”

               Alex leaned forward, pressing his forehead against Michael’s. “Say you’ll stand by me, whatever happens.”

               “I’ll stand by you, whatever happens.”

               “Say you love me,” he breathed, and Michael’s eyes fluttered shut.

               “I love you.”

               There was a moment of silence, then Alex moved back. Michael opened his eyes to see him looking toward the back of the bar, hesitant. Before he could ask what was wrong, Alex looked to him, biting his lower lip, his eyes dark, “Now say you’ll follow me to the bathroom because I want to kiss you more than I want to breathe, and screw waiting the week.”

               Michael got to his feet, exhaling shakily, “Hell yeah, baby.”

Hi there! 💛 Hope you’re doing alright! I have a Tarlos+Luca prompt for you if you’re interested/find inspiration in it. If it’s not your thing, I won’t hold it against you 😉 here it comes: there is a vid of a reporter who interviews a pre-k boy asking him if he‘ll miss his mom when he goes to pre-kindergarten. The boy first laughs but starts crying (it’s from 2015). I immediately thought of Luca missing his Daddy/his Papa when I saw it again. Do you think you have a story in you? 💛

do you have any lone star or 911 blog suggestions? i just ditched me 911 side blog and started tumblr life fresh with a whole new main blog, so i'm looking for new people to follow, also do you have any suggestions for just getting involved in the fandom altogether?

Hello! I do have some suggestions, but I will warn you, my list is pretty limited because it’s very hard to find good 911 Lone Star blogs because many are multifandom and harder to discover. Anyway, all the more reason to share what I have.

It’s exciting that you’ve broken from your side blog. I will be stuck here as a side blog forever, which can be limiting, so I’m glad you’ve made the switch. 

I tried to focus on blogs that have recent and consistent 911 Lone Star content, at least during the season, and many of them happen to multifandom so keep that in mind. Many of them also love 911 OG! I’m sure I missed important people I follow because it’s hard to weed through my follow list, so I’m sorry if I do. I’ve also provided some reasons why I love these people, mostly to give these wonderful humans some much-deserved love. (in no particular order just thrown out however my jumble mind sees fit)

First of all, @mybaby-tk, I love your blog and am always glad to see your posts, so you’d definitely make my list of blog suggestions. Lots of good takes. Lots of 911 Lone Star content. I cannot wait for more of your stuff.

@buckleystrand is a must. Some of the prettiest gifs, cute fics that make my heart leap, and just an overall really cool person. I think we’re blessed to have someone so talented in this fandom. 

@evaneddie is the #1 Marjeo fan (and I’m glad about that). They are a great contributor of gifs and also 911 OG content. I’m so glad to see them on my dash and to have someone providing good writing as well as gifs.

@bluestar22x a real fandom hero who always engages with posts. I love seeing this blog and their comments pop up because you always have interesting things to see. Such a great person and has a great tagging system for those who like that kind of thing (would be amazing if Tumblr liked to make tags fully functional haha).

@eveningspirit is also excellent. A wonderful writer (one of my faves) and I think we tend to like the same kind of stories, so TASTE! Seems really sweet and she just has 10/10 vibes. Is great at enunciating thoughts. A real fandom gem.

@bucktks Loves Ronen very much. Makes pretty gifs that I could spend hours looking at. Seems like a very cool human. Aesthetically pleasing blog.

@tylerkennedystrand is one of the first people I found who posted Lone Star content. Lots of multifandom content but still and excellent person in the Lone Star fandom.

@itsnotamarriageproposal TARLOOOSSSSSS I mean that’s pretty much all I have to say and you can feel my passion for this blog.

@lovelessmotel not fully Lone Star, but enjoyable all-around content that seems to fit well with things I like. Very pretty theme. Seems like a cool person.

@reyesstrand this is a Lone Star side blog so you can expect pretty much all lone star content. Wonderful posts. A writer. Just a great blog overall that I enjoy looking at.  

@homeinda-blue has a lot of great thoughts. Multifandom. Mostly text posts sharing these thoughts. Has some good insight that never occurred to me before. A really wonderful person!

@daybreak96  Multi-fandom. Shares lots of cool Rafa content. I just really like this blog. I found this blog looking through the tag, and I’m so glad that I did because I really enjoy it.

@adrianintown Lots of great ideas that I love seeing. A blog that has a good mix of different kinds of posts. Seems like a super smart and fun person. Also likes Animal Kingdom. Writes good stuff.

@soclosebutyetsofar is a blog that mostly focuses on Tarlos but also is in other fandoms such as the 100 and Roswell NM. Great content. I haven’t been following long, but I’m really glad I did.

@spookycass A nice bright theme that is very sunny. Really great content. Seems like a nice person and I’m glad I follow this blog.

@tkandbuck A variety of content, but the 911 Lone Star stuff is really excellent, and I mean, TK and Buck… how could I not love this wonderful blog?

@tarloses A must follow for all the Tarlos lovers out there. A good balance of content that I enjoy very much.

@xtarlosx 911 and lone star (and some other fandoms). Lots of Tarlos love. Just accidentally pressed unfollow as I was writing this, but I followed again so we’re good lol. In general, just a great addition to my dash and posts just the right amount.

@guesswhofern before starting this I said to myself DO NOT forget @guesswhofern because in my follow list this one is tucked between a bunch of other non Lone Star follows. Anyways, all the Lone Star content on this blog makes me happy, and this blog supports creators a lot, which is amazing.

@mtngirlforever a multi-fandom blog, but one you have to follow because of all the Lone Star talk that goes on there and a bunch of excellent content. One of my faves. Also, some Tarlos RP is that’s your thing. If it’s not, it’s tagged so fear not. Can’t say enough about this blog.

@actuallytkstrand multifandom.  Mostly 911 and Lone Star. A good balance of text and non-text posts. Just the right amount of content. Some good lone star memes (we don’t see enough) and good takes.

@thegayfleet a blog dedicated to gay things. Provides pics from lots of Ronen’s photoshoots. Also has a lot of other gay content and gifs from Lone Star and other shows with gay characters.
