Students hunting down the social media of their teachers in the Les Mis Teachers!AU, and finding:

Combeferre's public Instagram, where he posts and IDs all the insects and animals he sees. Sometimes he uploads links to YouTube videos and news articles for his students who are following him to read. He also has a TikTok where he uploads science experiments with Joly.

Courfeyrac’s private Instagram, where he only accepts students if they've long graduated. His IG stories are loud clips of him in the club, so blurry you can't see what's going on. His IG posts are of him with his friends, as well as screenshots of himself roasting stupid people on r/politics.

Feuilly's public Instagram and Twitter, all of which repost or retweet journal publications and news articles written by his friends in the field. Once in a while he posts a piece of woodwork he's made, and Enjolras is always the first to like and comment a 👍.

Enjolras' public Instagram, which has no profile picture, no description, and only the occasional post of current news affairs with a loooong caption sharing his thoughts. One day a student finds his Twitter, which is entirely in Korean, where it's also 90% of him sharing about news that may have gone under the radar (esp. things happening in Korea/Asia in general) and then 10% of him asking the void for dating advice. No one replies to those 💔.

Bahorel's public TikTok, where he has 3 workout videos and 48 duets of him arguing with people on bad history takes. Sometimes he goes on TikTok lives with Grantaire and they talk about bullshit for 3 hours straight.

Jehan's Tumblr, which is solely dedicated to Romantic literature. They invite students to send them asks and they answer them pretty often, usually about book/show recommendations, further readings, and opinions on poets and playwrights. Every so often an anon will send a scathing ask roasting Jehan's taste, and every time it's Bahorel.

Bossuet's private Instagram, where he only allows students who've graduated to follow. Except the app keeps glitching and his students keep getting in, so every day he has to softblock them again. His profile is pretty simple though, just pictures of him and his friends, his food, yearly graduation photos with his students etc. Alas, all of them have EXTREMELY horrendous IG filters on them. He likes it, okay?!

Joly's Twitter, where he retweets mostly cute/funny animal tweets, interspersed with the occasional Twitter thread where he goes on long tangents debunking myths about historical illnesses like the black plague, the cholera epidemic etc. He's currently curating one about COVID in his drafts. It's 80 tweets long.

Grantaire's public Instagram, which has about 1,320 posts because he posts about EVERYTHING. His breakfast, a nice cloud, a store having a clearance sale (in which he will tag his friends and caption "Shall we go?") etc. He treats IG like a group chat with all his 289 followers. A lot of pictures of his friends too. Whenever his students win an award or competition he posts about them as well, just with a huge censor bar to conceal their identity. He uses up all 10 slots for the IG carousel post, with the 10th picture always being a sneaky photo taken of Enjolras that day.

Bonus:

Marius' Twitter, except it took forever to confirm it was Marius because his tweets are in four entirely different languages. The students only figured it out once they saw a Twitter thread where Enjolras and Marius were debating with each other in Korean.

Éponine's TikTok, where it only has one video thus far, and its her sending off Gavroche on his first day of school. She uses her account to roast Combeferre’s and Joly’s science experiments, as well as bully Bahorel and Grantaire on their TikTok lives.

Cosette's public Instagram, which is a pretty popular bullet journaling account. Very aesthetic; students follow her to get some decor inspo and study tips. Her IG stories are pictures with Valjean and Fantine captioned "brunch with my favourite people!! 💫💗" or blurry pictures of Enjolras coming out of his bedroom at 2pm on Saturday captioned "Bigfoot sighting #39"

am begging fandom at large to adopt my niche but ultimately extremely correct take that giles would have been immediately tech literate had jenny lived. HE WAS HOLDING A PROGRAMMING BOOK WHEN HE TRIED TO ASK HER OUT. man was doing his HOMEWORK. he loves her so much & his reticence re: computers would have eroded just the same way he stayed at that monster truck rally. it would have been full of passive aggressive comments in places but he would still be taking notes on every single thing she has to say.

#okay it was relevant i promise #basically okay the question was about to what extent is it vital for media products to identify and address a target audience to be #successful and we study 2 radio products #one is newsbeat which is by the bbc it's like a news radio show that's meant to target age 15-29 #but the average listener is 30 #so . it is Not effectively targeting its audience #it gives . how do you do fellow kids #like it tries really really hard to appeal to young adults/teenagers but it's . painful to listen to sometimes #the bbc have been trying to target this age bracket coz it's the one they don't have a secure audience in #I SAID that they used to have a slightly bigger younger audience in the early 2010s #bcos they had the dan and phil show on radio 1 which was very popular and attracted their mainly teenage/young adult presold audience #they used the popularity of the internet to their advantage by having dnp run a show #but now they've lost a lot of their younger audience To social media platforms #as now what are called digital natives in media (people who have grown up with the internet/don't really remember a time before it)#for the most part prefer to get their news off social media rather than radio #a lot of this is general i know not Every young person Hates radio #but in general it's losing popularity esp amongst younger target audiences #media 🔥🔥🔥🔥#that was only like . a mention in one paragraph tho #coz unfortunately we don't study dnps radio show we study Newsbeat 😔#anyway the exam was overall good for the most part #yay :3 #joeyposting

absolutely sick of the suggestion that before we can care about palestine we should focus on "fixing our own country". as if we can't care about multiple things at once, and as if our counties have nothing to do with the genocide. it's especially insidious coming from the british because this country is essential to israel's continued existence and by saying shit like that you've betrayed just how ignorant of everything you really are. consider that if you're saying things like "the genocide is awful BUT" then maybe you don't actually give a shit about the genocide.

uuuug every so often i see writing tips passed around and i want to make a post but i can't find the right words to convey "aaaauuggh don't do what The r/se of sk/walk3r did"

#so basically after the movie was released worldwide to the public- official social media dropped a bunch of side facts about the story.#but not in the way that something like fromsoft games tend to do. u know how there's massive lore in some games?? but not overtly explained #but there's enough there (and the medium type might help) that fans pick up what the game already contains to connect lore.#anyway. the movie in op apparently had…a bunch of details that were relevant to the actual story in the movie but just. were not included #the knig/ts of ren?? their whole deal is Not Included In The Movie that they finally appear in #the planet that connects one of the major characters to the grandpa he has a whole complex revolved around? doesn't mention he visits #the inner thoughts of the protagonists' (supposedly). or the vital sidequest one main guy is on but is only vaguely mentioned?#not in the movie. these and most likely other tidbits important to the characters or narrative in some way were at most given a nod to #but otherwise nothing substantial to these themes and motivations or actual character backgrounds were properly executed/expanded on #so the official socials instead just like. idk shared a bunch of these deets online or in completely separate media of the franchise #but it should!!be in the movie!! it could have enriched the narrative and it could have been better executed!! do u get what i'm saying??#maybe i am like Burned from what that movie did in regards to this (and the franchise as a whole lol) but like. ig what im saying is #you can include the little side bits that might be important to your characters or narrative or themes in some way even in passing #and it doesn't need to be removed from the narrative entirely. if you like your audience to share something that fancies you then-#-you can make room! somewhere somehow. if u want! if it's balanced #so on so forth “kill your darlings” disclaimer but just Please not at the expense of throwing the baby out with the bathwater

as someone in their early 20s, it’s so funny being friends with so many people in their late 30s-40s, because most of the time i don’t even notice the age difference.. but then they’ll say something like “yeah, my kiddo is starting 5th grade this year” and i’ll be like oh, right. yeah. i forgot that you’re 20 years older than me. lol

6-year-old Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gaza's collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy.

She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the lOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.

Her condition is so serious that she even had to undergo surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her condition is. The surgery was successful to a degree, but she is going to need ongoing treatment to manage her symptoms.

The treatments are administered weekly and cost $500 USD (just under €500 EUR). Her family has no income and cannot afford this. If Joan goes more than a few days without treatment, her symptoms worsen rapidly, and she sometimes has to be hospitalized. It is vital that we help her family procure her treatments so that her condition does not worsen!
