Naruto Love Languages (Akatsuki)

Pein/Nagato - Physical Touch

Nagato struggles with his public image and personal image. When he is around others he is a god, a highly power who will bring peace. He is held to such a high standard and that comes with a lot of pressure. Inside he feels like just another person, but knows he has to keep up the persona to execute his plan. When you join him in public he boosts you up as his equal, an equal god to rule with him. But when you two get away from others and back into solitude, Nagato just collapses into your arms and wants to stay there all day. Sure he was tons of paperwork to do, but god dammit have you see the state his body is in? He deserves ONE day off. Loves it when you let him lay down on your lap and you play with his hair. While he is definitely more touchy in private, you do notice that in public he will quietly snake his hand into yours and not let go the whole meeting

Konan - Gift Giving

Konan is stoic but very sweet. She's been hurt quite a bit and is afraid to reach out again. Even when dating you for awhile she occasionally catches herself getting comfortable and retreats a bit. You know she means well and understand her struggles, but it does get sad sometimes. Something that doesn't go away though is her gifts to you. Konan loves to make origami for you, and larger paper creations as well. Your favorite animals, your favorite anime characters, she even makes statues of you two together. Seeing your smile when you recieve these makes her heart soar. Giving you gifts is her one way to confidently express her love, and will bring out the most genuine smiles she ever gives

Itachi Uchiha - Acts of Service

Itachi has some issues showing his emotions more directly. He's a man of few words. But what he doesn't say in words he says in actions. He adores taking care of you. He misses taking care of a younger sibling, or just family in general, it makes him feel important. So caring for you feels just as good, even better since you guys get to kiss and cuddle and stuff. Itachi will always be cooking meals for you and picking up around the house. If you ever get sick this man will be at your side the whole time, I'm talking fresh soup and blankets. Sure he may be a full time Akatsuki member, but with you he's like a housewife. And he wouldn't have it any other way!

Kisame Hoshigaki - Quality Time

Kisame is the definition of loyalty. He is already loyal to his friends and teammates, but to you he is unwavering. He'll never lie to you, sell you out, cheat on you, nothing. You're the only one for him. You're so special and are so interesting to him. Spending time with you is bliss for him, even when you just sit around and casually chat. Kisame could listen to your voice and stare at your beautiful face for hours on end. You'll often find him just staring at you smiling sweetly (much to your embarrassment). He'll back off if you tell him to, but will be back at it the next day

Sasori - Quality Time

Sasori values eternity over everything, that's why he turned himself into a puppet. The passage of time won't affect him, and he doesn't want it to affect your relationship either. He's not big on talking or touching, it's more just existing with you that makes him happy. Whenever he works on his puppets he likes to have you in his studio doing your own thing (with the occasional small talk if you catch him on a good day). Sasori thinks in the long term as well, not worrying if you guys just spend a day doing nothing. You have years and years ahead of you, you can spend a day just doing nothing and relaxing. Just be aware he will consistantly try to convince you to become a puppet so you guys can really live for eternity forever

Deidara - Gift Giving

When you and Deidara started dating, he definitely was showing off awkwardly. I'm talking bragging about his achievements, hyping up his fighting skills, stuff like that. He's lucky he's cute cause he could kinda be insufferable lol. But once he got comfortable around you he mellowed out a lot. More genuine conversations, wider range of emotions and vulnerability, and more confident touches as well. Now he can hold your hand without freaking out. Deidara adores giving you gifts most of all though. His art is obviously the best, and you're the best, so you are worthy of it! His gifts range from tiny little birds that tweet your favorite song before poofing into smoke, or a whole giant dragon doing a show and exploding into colorful fireworks. All of Deidara's creations have tons of time and effort put into them to make sure they are the highest quality for you. Everytime there is a new surprise in his clay, and you look forward to it every day

Hidan - Physical Touch

...Are you surprised? Come on let's be real here. Hidan appreciates the more sinful things in life, and that includes your body. He's kind of a douchebag and you each piss each other off alot, but he DOES care for you. He wouldn't want any other partner, you're his favorite little shit and he couldn't dream of losing you. Not to mention this man worships your body. Everything about you is just perfectly carved by Jashin just for him. Pretty much anything you do will turn him on, you're just that sexy to him. Hidan has no shame and will actively start making out and feeling you up in public. Why should he have to wait to get home to ravish you, you look so good right here right now! And he isn't ashamed to show the world how much he loves you, fuck them all. Kakuzu - Quality Time

Kakuzu isn't the most... romantic person in the world. He's a bit difficult to deal with, even in a relationship. Sometimes you wonder why you fell for this guy in the first place. But then he'll ask you to stay with him while he counts money and talk. The whole time he is attentive and engaged, surprising you with his sincerity. He likes to have you around him a lot and will sometimes drag you into the same room as him with no words. Just sit next to him and he's satisfied. Kakuzu is also protective of you more than anyone in his life. Most people he gives no shits about, just ask his previous teammates. But you don't annoy him as much and he found himself genuinely caring for you. So in return he will kill anyone who dares to threaten or hurt you. News flash though, you will always play second fiddle to money

Tobi/Obito - Words of Affirmation

Either persona he chooses uses words to show his affection, just in drastically different ways. As Tobi, he is waaaaaaay more open and extravagent about it. He is gushing about you all the time in front of everyone, constantly bragging about you during meetings, he will not shut the fuck up. The world will KNOW how cool and funny and hot you are. But when he is back to regular Obito, he definitely calms down. He is still very affectionate and vocal, but in a more private way. He saves this sincerity for alone time and very rare outings. These times he feels open to be vulnerable with you and enjoys telling you all the things he holds inside. So no matter what side of Obito you have, you are gonna be treated like a national treasure (Oh but uh, another problem with Tobi is that uh... nothing you guys do will be private. Everything is gonna be broadcasted to the rest of the Akatsuki, so get used to the group knowing what color panties you were wearing)

Do we know anything about how Sakura was created? Was it Kishimoto’s idea to create such a character or was she added by the editors so that the story wouldn’t look even more gay?

Hey anon!

yes, Kishimoto has talked about Sakura's creation before. He talked about it in the first official Naruto fanbook that came out in 2002

He also talked about it for the Jump SQ interview he did in 2014 [Full Interview]

Basically, Kishimoto didn't know how to come up with an actual plot or a conflict for the manga after he was done with the pilot chapter, so his editor Yahagi who was beast mode for Naruto suggested creating a rival (Sasuke) and then a heroine (Sakura).

I don't know for sure if Yahagi suggested a traditional love triangle (two boys fighting over a girl) and then Kishimoto was like "no, thank you" and did his own gay thing or if right off the bat Yahagi knew what Kishimoto intended which was Sakura and Naruto chasing and fighting over Sasuke, the gay version of a love triangle, basically making Sakura a character that was conceived as a red herring from the beginning.

I personally think it's the second one and let me tell you why, Kishimoto *LOVES* Yahagi (some mangakas hate their editors like Togashi lowkey), in every interview where he talks about that man he's always so grateful for having to work with him and saying how he learned so much from him and so on which leads me to believe Yahagi was a very flexible editor when it came to the story, but also that Yahagi himself has talked about how he saw something fresh in Kishimoto's writing that wasn't being done in shonen when he was first assigned as an editor to him. Now, it could be that "fresh" aspect was the colorful foreign looking ninjas, a concept which before Kishimoto didn't exist but it could also be that he took the relationship between two boys (the main character and his rival) in shonen manga beyond what was accepted and running at the time. Yahagi is not dumb, he was supervising 100 other mangakas and worked with Kishimoto from 1995 to 2008, that's 13 long ass years so you can't pull the "Kishimoto accidentally wrote Naruto and Sasuke gay" because Yahagi would've 100% noticed (if 12 year old kids notice, what makes people think an actual pro-editor wouldn't? lol) and then make Kishimoto correct and change the manga, because that's the other thing, Yahagi was always telling Kishimoto to change shit, a few examples:

Change the story from a fox that can turn into a human boy into the Naruto/Kurama dynamic we saw

Kishimoto wanted Hokages and senseis to be animals (the fourth hokage was a dog before Kishimoto came up with Minato) and Yahagi had him turn them into humans.

Kishimoto wanted Kakashi's rival to be from another village and introduce him during the Land of the Waves arc, Yahagi made him wait to properly develop a rival and make him from Konoha instead, that's how we got Gai.

Speaking of Gai, it was Yahagi who designed Gai and Rock Lee based on Bruce Lee

Kishimoto wanted more missions abroad but Yahagi made him instead come up with a tournament arc, that's how we got the Chuunin exams.

These are just a few of his contributions to the manga, that's how much power he had over it, if he didn't like what Kishimoto was doing with Naruto and Sasuke he would have put a stop to it *instantly* and yet it kept going and going and going, to the point Kishimoto talks so fondly of him years after they stopped working together. Yahagi knew and I believe he encouraged Kishimoto even more.

what jun easaka thinking without no indication of clan other members especially children and babies but she did mention in naruto retsuden that sasuke took sakura and sarada to uchiha clan graveyard, but here how vaguely she tried to put it, in canon sasuke did admit he can forgive itachi not konoha especially he held hokage responsible for the damage to his clan, then how can easaka just refuted any indication of other uchiha clan members lives being sacrificed and how they were treated, this sasuke is oof, sasuke forgotten about his clan's sacrifice? and easily agree what his brother did was right? but sasuke was talking about in end punishing culprits and judged and how he is only member of the clan, now that sacrifice is okay as long it's for village sake, sasuke would never sacrificed children for village, this is not canon sasuke, what the hack easka itachi did only sacrificed himself but many children as young as 3 to 4 who has no knowledge of coup( itachi shinden),

actually when I said I'm thinking of manifesting 'superpowers' I already had 3 things in mind !! tho I can see why you thought about reality wraping (manipulating) based powers but I technically already have them with my manifesting and reality shifting abilities 😅

the abilities I thought about manifesting were:

1. I wanted to manifest healing abilities! - you also have this on the list. I want to be able to heal something by holding my hands over it... like they do in naruto but without the whole chakra thingy lol. I don't want to be immortal here in my CR per se (when I'm old, I'm probably just gonna shift to a new reality and claim that reality as my new cr!) but with my healing abilities I could do something about any wounds or illnesses and I can help the people around me as well!!

2. idk exactly how to name the second ability but I want to be able to create something like 'mini portals' with my hands but not to enter them! I want to use them like a screen - to show other people in my CR something from my DRs or from my memory OR to 'visualize' my thoughts - when I have something in my mind I can just show them it instead of explaining it! whenever I experience sth cool I always want to share it with someone so badly cuz talking about it is the most fun !! But that's a bit difficult with reality shifting unless u do group shifting yk ... I could for example show how the reality looks like or certain scenarios from DR to my friends or family... that would be really nice

3. telekinesis! I don't really want to use this for something big... you know I'm really clumsy, I would probably use them to stop something (or someone lol) from falling down or to move stuff closer to me when I'm too lazy to get up lmao. Or I could maybe use this to make myself fly!

Yeah, some of it is due to the urge to conform, like you said.

But I think it's mostly because of the catch- 22 like situation that Naruto manga has created. As per shounen guidelines, the manga can't have gay main characters, also it can't feature a gay relationship so majorly. I don't think it's so much written in stone but just one of those unwritten rules that everyone abides by, and mangakas want to conform to. Shounen mangas usually aren't about love stories, love stories are usually side plots in them and not the main plot. Naruto is shounen manga. And yet its central narrative is about two gay boys in love with each other.

Shounen manga industry is a very competitive industry. Since the 80's, it has flourished greatly. Not that it wasn't functioning before that, but especially after the economic boom in Japan, it thrived even more. When their quality of life improves, people invest in entertainment, leisure and pleasure. If you had to constantly fret about where you would get your two meals from, you wouldn't care about movies and comic books. So when mangakas started to get a lot of patronage and opportunities, the number of professional mangakas soared. So did their creations. Competition increased. Every mangaka wanted to top the other. Even Kishi has a rival. Oda. He talks about him often.

Take Ruruoni Kenshin. Its mangaka Watsuki decided that he wanted to write a shounen manga different from the other ones at the time, to stand out. Ruruoni Kenshin is a 'romance' manga set in a very sensitive historical period in Japan. It did stand out. It's a critically well received and quite a popular manga.

The Japanese are not afraid of working hard and long. It's part of their culture. Jiro Ono is almost a hundred years old and still making sushi, the best sushi in the world. He still insists he has not perfected the art (of making sushi) and still perseveres to excel at it. Boy I am very glad I wasn't born in Japan. Because I love my chill time and resent anything that disturbs it. I would not have thrived there, lol.

Anyway.

Kishi also decided to do something different, to stand out. Kishi was ambitious. You can tell from his interviews and notes from the manga. So he made two male rivals and main characters kiss each other, never been done before in shounen manga's history. And wrote a gay love story as the central narrative of the manga.

So the catch 22 situation was that shounen manga can't have major gay characters or gay relationship and yet Naruto and Shippuden did. But SNS isn't canon because they are gay and this is shounen.

So the SNS fans you are talking about go with the safest take. That it's accidental. Or unintentional. Or just queerbaiting. Doesn't help that most of these SNS fans don't understand how storytelling works. And so when they are confronted by antis who ship the canon couples, they get insecure because their ship isn't canon. And this catch-22 situation confuses them, makes them insecure. They don't wanna be the target of ridicule so they just go on believing that SNS is just in their heads.

1. How long have you been creating KakaIru fanworks?

Oh boy, I wrote my first KakaIru fic back in 2011 on LiveJournal! That makes… 11 years? I definitely read more than I wrote over the years, usually only participating in small events or exchanges rather than building fics from the ground up. Though, lately I’ve been inspired to write longer works, which is quite thrilling.

2. What are you working on right now?

I’m pausing lightly on my KKIR fics to dive into Hannibal (a fandom I have yet to tap into writing for!) But I have a really fun yakuza!Kakashi fic I’ve been working on, I’m excited to share it!

3. What is your favourite trope to create for?

Meet-cutes are some of my absolute favorite things to write, but I also really enjoy writing power plays, especially with these two. They’re both so passionate and goofy there’s a lot of room to play.

4. Which of your creations is your favourite, and why?

Oooh, right now it’s probably The Home of Hatake, my most recent fic. I had so much fun writing it and bringing Sakumo back. It really dove deep into the found family trope, which is another favorite of mine. It’s also my longest fic to date which I’m very proud of!

5. Do you have any WIPs you’re excited about?

Oh yeah, I have three right now; the yakuza!kakashi fic, a college AU, and a spooky horror creature fic. All of them are vastly different flavors.

6. Do you have any original characters? If so, tell us about them!

I actually don’t have any OCs!

7. What was your hardest piece to create, and why?

I think that would have to be A Thousand Stars, which was a gift fic for an event. I had an idea, a scene, that I wanted to encapsulate but the surrounding fic gave me a bit of a run for my money! I’m certainly happy with the end result, though.

8. Do you have any favourite scenes from something you’ve created?

In Howling for You, (spoilers lol) when Iruka is reunited with Naruto and Kakashi watches on, dumbstruck, as they cry and cling to each other, Iruka turns and says “thank you”. That was the scene in my head that propelled the whole fic!

9. Where does your inspiration come from?

I get a lot of inspiration from movies, shows, and even little spots in my own life. Most of the time my fics are born from the thought: “what if Kakashi and Iruka were in this scenario?” Though I also get a lot of inspiration from trying to find a specific type of fic to read and not being able to find it. Create what you want to see!

10. Which of your creations is the most meaningful to you, and why?

Chrysanthemum for sure. It’s one of my older works but I used it as a way to really explore Kakashi and Iruka as characters. I still go back and read it every now and again!

Well, since everyone is sharing their experience with coming into twilight fandom, I will engage too, I suppose.

So, this story is short and dull, but so much excitement came into my humble life after, so.

I had never read the books, but was forced to watch all the twilight movies, for like 30+ times. Why, you ask? Well, because at the time, I was in the hotel where you could connect to wi-fi only in the lobby, and had just an old TV and one bed in the actual room. And I was there for, like 2-3 weeks? I was long ago, don’t quite remember. The thing is, my Ipod had only two Barbie movies and Twilight, Eclipse, and BD2 uploaded.

Why to the whole Saga? Bruh. Because I HATED “dummies don’t know how to use a condom” (even being, like, 12 yo) BD drama and wasn’t interested in Bella’s sulking et al ((and wholeheartedly had rejected (still do) Jasper’s ugly wig)) in NM. So, I re-watched the movies to the point I knew their dialogues, because its either that or Barbie the Mermaid for millionth time over.

And? Think what? Last year I had had read all goodies KakaSaku (Naruto) fandom can provide me with on AO3, and, like, what now? Oh, there comes, my shameful past. Wattpad. Jasper/OC. So, had had read, like, three fics that were, like, readable, and came to AO3. To discover more of this AliExpress-que class luxuries.😑 But, there came the divine intervention, there came my Truth. Its name was, YT recs.

Came across these two J/A @irrelevanttous’ edits on YT (J/A - Strange Birds & J/A - Alive) and, like, no joking, cried due to how beautiful its was, how absolutely MESMERISING it was.

And then, I like, “so, I need to read something about them”. So, back to AO3. But not to Jasper/OC section. Instead, J/A section. And there? There? @flowerslut and @goldeneyedgirl were there. My sleepless nights came there. And I like, holymolyshittiepolly, how do I never payed more attention to them?

[ Like, sure, Alice was my fav in the movies, and in NM and Eclipse they were the only ones I watched, and shipped, but like, in “they are sweet” way, no more. And because E/B and every other couple have NO CHEMISTRY, for me at least (I liked Rose, tho) in the movies. ]

So, I read this @goldeneyedgirl goodness, cried myself waterless because of how BEAUTIFUL Jalice is, when you think about it, CAME TO TUMBLR FOR THE FIRST TIME (being 18 yo, lol) just to follow @goldeneyedgirl, and everything her Sanctuary of A Blog has to offer, discovered the animal called #twilightrenaissance and, well, here goes the madness.

@flowerslut COTN which made me like “fuck canon, this is my canon” for some time.

yours “good politics”, which got me into historical!Jalice, which is usually not my cup of matcha latte.

@goldeneyedgirl fics/metas/everything (she is, like, THE GOD of Jalice characterisation for me, the gallons of tears I spent because of her creations, could make its own Sea) made me an addict to her stuff.

@jessicanjpa and @panlight meta dissertations, that I literally saved on my device, to analyse myself.

@forkscult and @twilightsaganetwork aesthetic heavens

@bastards-bitch and silenth works, that so indecently made me weep, from its beauty and glass both.

And then I read @gisellelx meta, and @therealvinelle, and like, is Edward was that crazy? (Bella’s meta didn’t surprise me that much, because I didn’t really liked her in the movies, and something about her passiveness at one setting, and martyr acts in the next, always irritated me). Need to find out.

So, welcome to hell, I read the books, crying and roaring at Bella’s narration, and cringing myself into 90 old wrinkles. And then, Midnight Sun. But no, thank you. I heard about/read some parts, and Im traumatised (I love the Jalice parts tho, expect those where Ed being an “im-superior-to-you jerk, passively-aggressively judging J , while seeing Alice as some sort of God-Send, tho a-lita-shallow” Creature😒) enough. These books are like a dissertation your teacher gives you on the “waste your characters and your world’s potential to its fullest” topic, but at the same time, its gives so much material to, cross over it and then re-think, that I actually isn’t sure, is SMeyer a genius which potential was buried under the layers of Mormon bull, or is she just, like, accidentally made something really engrossing, but her weird obsession with E/B didn’t let her see beyond.

But what the books gave me, is an understanding of how far the movies were from the truth, like, its has absolutely zero canon for me, except, maybe the first part, which aesthetics are so good for me, to this day. Even if the plot is meh.

And the source material sucks, I get it. But, its seemed like Twilight were a project of interest, and the stuff is, like, actually cared to make a movie about vamps, where following movies were like “so, this is your short version about whats happening, shoot”. Like, this ever-changing wigs. And awfully human looking everyone in BD, with childish fights in both Eclipse and BD2. Meh.

But, im rumbling myself out of the topic in question, sorry.

So, yeah. And here we are, where I cant get myself back into some other fandom, reading and re-reading Jalice every-time I come across something, and enjoying the depths of glorious hell that is Tumblr.

New Naruto fan here who only reads the manga. Do you think the Naruto anime is awful or both that and the manga? I couldn't even get mildly irritated with what you said, lol. The anime is honestly a shitshow consisting of a million filler episodes that fucks up the plot, characters, relationships, and character interpretations because a lot of the dumbass Naruto fandom can't differentiate filler content from canon content. (I definitely won't be watching the anime in the future.)

Wrote a very long post, but I'm gonna keep it short instead. Especially since I have a folder in my computer titled "Naruto Series" that may one day come out into the open.

I have read a good chunk of the manga, particularly the parts when I wanted to compare scenes to see if they were really as bad (they were). From what I understand from talking to other people who have read the full thing, all of the issues I have with the series are things straight from the manga. I'm sure the filler screwed things up, but if I hear one more person saying that the filler is the reason why Naruto sucks I may throw something. All the things I'm gonna list are in the manga:

Naruto himself as a character (absolutely hated him), the creator's unfortunate habit of introducing new characters and plot devices whenever it suits him while forgetting the old ones (by the time we've reached the time skip we are keeping track of over 15 main characters, and he's still not done introducing new ones), the issue of him introducing these giant problems and then they either get handwaved away or forgotten (Naruto's promise to Neji) and him being unable to actually follow through with the consequences that the characters choose (in the first arc they make a HUGE deal over leaving the village and then Sasuke leaves the village and it turns into 'no, Sasuke, come back, no consequences, uwu' and that's the least bad one).

And don't get me started on Sakura. My eye twitches involuntarily every single time I think about her, not because I have extremely positive or negative feelings towards her in canon but because of how much she was absolutely wasted. She could've easily have been one of the best characters in the series if Kishimoto, the absolute hack, gave half of a fuck. And that was all him.

These are all manga creations, and these were all things I had huge problems with. I don't know how far you've gotten so I'm not gonna get into too many details. Uh, hope you enjoy the series?

And, being completely honest, I've never met a Naruto fan that isn't insanely obnoxious and in love with what they think the series is/what the series could be rather than what it actually is. And they've soured my relationship to it even more. I'm sure they're not all like that but fuck, a huge portion of them are.

Like there's a legit person in that original post right now saying that Naruto is a better-written show because at least "Naruto is trying to say something" when...it's not. It's not saying anything. Yashahime may be saying nothing, but Naruto is speaking gibberish at best.

A/N: this was a request from  a very sweet anon and I worked on it for such along time, but Tumblr did not save the post so I had to retype it.. but its okay, I am fine and here is the second attempt:

Gosh okay Hinata needs a s/o that’s loud and slightly obnoxious lol, like she needs that type of person to push her out of her shell. She may be shy at your advances at first, but let’s be real she actually really loves them.

99.9% of the relationship is Hinata stuttering your name. “Y-y/n!!”

She likes when you make a big stink of any small gesture she does for you. It makes her feel super confident and even if she’s walking away blushing just know that she’s going to be thinking of that moment for a good month afterwards. Like she brings you food one day after you’re training with Naruto and you’re so happy that you mow it down in like 2 seconds. Then you smother her in hugs, kisses and praise and she just turns beet red. “Y-y/n!”

Your compliments help push her out of her shell even more and she cherishes every single one. Even if your compliments are kinda shitty, it’s the thought that counts. “Wow Hinata, youre eyes look like marbles, they’re so cute.” And Hinatas blushing so fucking hard and Shino and Kiba just scratch their head like?? “Uh why did you blush at that weak ass compliment?”

You’re basically her cheerleader. Make sure to give her pep talks. Like if she’s feeling down about herself for whatever reason, you always go up to her and give her the best inspirational talk you can, throwing in all the cheesy shit you know and she’s always grateful. You’re probably half screaming the pep talk because you’re just so riled up to make your girlfriend feel energized and the effort alone is comforting. “Don’t worry about what anyone else says, I believe in you Hinata! I know you can do this.”

Whenever you two are on missions together she always makes the effort to try and show her powers off to you. She sees how protective you are of her in the village and she wants to show you that she can take care of you too. That just gives her the extra drive she needs to kick the enemies ass <3 She loves when you stare at her wide eyed and shocked after she whoops their ass. Like leaving you speechless is such an accomplishment because you hardly ever shut up. “Holy shit, Hinata!!! You’re the coolest girlfriend ever, you totally kicked their asses!”

Brag about her!!! Please just flex about your girlfriend. She does the same for you but she gets super shy afterwards. Like when she talks to Shino, Kiba and Kurenai about you she always does the little finger thing with her hands and turns beet red. Kiba loves to tease her about it when you all hang out, “Yeah, Hinata always talks about you with us. She’s always rambling about how—“ then Hinata proceeds to clamp a hand over his mouth with her eyes bulging out of her head. “K-Kiba!!”

You’re a tease so you like to get her flustered. So sometimes you join in on Kibas teasing, afterall it’s just fun and games. It’s not like Kiba wants to hurt your feelings. However, if it’s anyone else in the village they will not get the same treatment. Oh someone wants to shove Hinata as they walk past her in the village? Want to say she’s not strong? You will openly challenge them to a battle. “Hey you jerk! You wanna disrespect my girlfriend again? I’ll kick your ass right now!” And she’ll hold you back, “Y/n! It’s okay! Really you don’t need to do this.”

Honestly as you two get closer in the relationship, she starts to develop some of your mannerisms and little by little she bursts into “y/n fits.” That’s what kiba calls them. It’s basically where she does something bold and totally un-Hinata like. Like someone’s talking crap about you in the village and she goes from little shy girl to “who do you think you are talking about y/n like that?!” Kiba tells you about the fits later and you just sit back with a grin, “that’s my girl.”

She also doesn’t mind PDA — to an extent. You’re an affectionate person so you can’t help the PDA sometimes, but you know when you’re overstepping. There’s 3 levels of Shy Hinata. First level is with light PDA, like gentle little touches that you don’t even notice you’re giving her. Light brushes over her arm as you walk, or your fingers thrumming against her thigh as you two sit down at a restaurant. There’s a little brush of pink across her cheeks and you normally don’t notice it unless someone *cough cough* ( Kiba ) points it out.

The second level is with intentional touches, like hand holding, wrapping an arm around her etc. Her face turns bright red and you have to ask if it’s okay, she nods eagerly, she actually likes it a lot. It just takes her a while to adjust to it.

The third level is emergency level. Like this is just borderline she is going to evaporate. It varies from touches you didn’t mean to be so intimate, to jokingly slapping her ass when you pick her up from training. She just immediately turns red and starts stuttering and you can almost see her head overheating.

It’s kind of funny lol and you have to apologize afterwards because she’s literally over heating for five minutes afterwards. As the relationship goes on she will end up getting you back at least once, even if she’s blushing the whole time. It’s worth it though because you’re blushing just as hard at her sudden boldness.

Also loves nicknames, even the tacky ones you give her. Call her a whole list of nicknames and she adores every single one of them. For real, like you can call her: princess, peaches, love, cutie pie, sweetie, etc and they will all make her smile.

Saves like every card you give her. They’re the most extravagant yet horrendous things that ever came into creation, but she loves them all and ignores Neji’s blatant dislike for them. Like sure, they’re decked out in glitter and they look like a five year old made them, but you tried your best and the thought that you spent your time on her in such a sentimental way always makes her gush. Keeps them all in a shoe box under her bed with all the other trinkets she collects from dates and hang outs with you. She definitely wears the gifts you give her too, even if they are a little too crazy for her, she likes how humbled you get when you see her wearing them.

Also she’s 100% a pillow princess and you will not and cannot change my mind <3

hello <3 since i got these asks at the same time i decided to combine my thoughts on them in this post. yet another annoying sjw essay from yours truly on this blog 

before i get into these i think i need to preface why im like. i guess overly hyperfocused on a certain unproblematic base (same age au / platonic canon) for them and avoid the ped0philic content like the plague lol

tw for pedophilia ment, rape ment if that makes you squicky. ALSO THIS IS LONG AND RAMBLY

as i’ve mentioned a couple times already, ive been into the ship since i was 12, back when it was very very common to not only post untagged (nsfw) canonverse content of the two in writing and in drawing but also non con and the like, so you can imagine how bad my first impression online was. thinking back on it ...as a child i found it disturbing but didnt really register how problematic it really was?? (i know, but i also lived in the middle of nowhere and had no one explain this to me) 

skip to 2014 aka me coming back to naruto at 17ish and i had kinda become hyper aware of the fact that there was an increasing amount of people online who had come forward with explaining how fictional problematic content, mostly pedophilia, had been used to groom them into starting relationships with adullts. it was also a time where a lot of people didnt believe these victims, not registering how common it was for minors to be online friends with adults who had no boundaries and no qualms exposing them such content. not gonna get into my personal life here but i was lucky to not having gone through this myself. like... it kinda was my first time truly realising how fiction can EASILY be used to manipulate others irl (and yes i will not argue this, if you dont think fictional media can form and manipulate people’s opinions on attitudes, countries, cultures and virtues, pick up a book about the effects of propaganda media at least once please) 

i, being young, still liking the dynamic but not really the romance, would point this out here and there in the fandom and get into fights with grown adults in their mid 20s who assumed i automatically hated the ship(s) and tried to restrict their freedom of speech or whatever, heard everything from the “age of consent doesnt exist in naruto” to the “sasori looks like a child what does it matter” despite people clearly playing on him being older and experienced. it made me so upset that people were just consuming all this content uncritically and exposing children to it tbh?? not really just sos but a lot of minor/adult ships in naruto in general. and thats where i sat down and thought, i do not want to be a grown adult talking down to children that point out how unsafe the fandom is. theyre absolutely right in drawing these boundaries and calling out adults who defend the uncritical consumption and creation of this content. i do not want to consume or create content that predators could use to groom minors, and i absolutely do want to let younger people in fandom know that i am respecting their comfort zones and want them to have a safe and fun experience. after all, naruto is not an adult show and i think a lot of people forget that!!!! i am not perfect in that regard but its something that i, at the age of 23, am very passionate about and strive towards to.

and i guess thats where same age au was born for me and i have been sticking to it ever since. 

so finally we can move to the first question 

aside from the fact that we both dont like canon sos, i dont think it would work out even if i wasnt prejudiced to it anyways. in all honesty, 35 year old canon sasori is not a redeemable character to me, given the fact that he’s easily amongst the cruelest villains in naruto (torturing and killing and taxiderming people for his own fun personal gain, never for a goal that served anyone but himself. how do you redeem having over 300 corpses in your backpack that you felt absolutely no remorse for killing). sasori was legit one of the only cruel villains that didnt had someone else pull the strings, which sends a clear message on kishi’s part, who absolutely loves to redeem villains LOL.

being that old, he obviously had already been very manifested in what he believed in, even if it was shakey, to the point where the first crack in that world view (sakura and chiyo protecting each other) immediately had him give up on his life all together. that, in my opinion, is not a man who’s going to know what healthy relationships would look like, regardless of it being romantic or not. 35 year old sasori to me has the same appeal as an expired can of tuna and he’s probably very happy 6 feet under. he’s supposed to be a failed gaara in that sense that he had no one to look out for him and therefore was never going to experience anything but a bad ending in life. its fine that hes dead honestly, it wraps up his short character development the best IMO.

adding to that, seriously, sakura was obviously interested in knowing why he was that way, and called him out for being seriously fucked in the head, but it’s weird to me that people assume she had any interest in actively rehabilitating him, let alone starting a serious romantic relationship with him. sakura who’s not only very, uhm, immature and straight forward when it comes to her romantic viewpoints also, as a big bootlicker, wouldnt soil her standing in the village by starting anything with a disgraced and far too gone criminal like sasori. shipping that version of sasori with sakura intimately is still going to set her up for a huge power imbalance that would be difficult to handle imo, even if she was the one in the fight ultimately exerting her power over him. i would still look at it and think damn she deserves better than having to play therapist for man like that lol.

additionally, even if you ignored all of this, you cant really ignore that sasori had already known her as a child, and that had been his first and most impactful impression of her. i dont think that sasori would look at 35 year old sakura and see her as a grown woman and not the little green girl she was in the fight. plus, you easily fall into predatory comparison territory between the “childish” and “womanly” and i have seen way too often in fic just being boiled down to her now being fuckable. a lot of of ships do this and i would just like to remind yall thats it not normal for adults to want to start relationships with children they have seen grown up or known as a child when they themselves were fully grown adults. therefore, maybe if sakura hadnt met sasori before it would be less of a problem? but that also obviously defeats the point of the dynamic and the reason he died in the first place. so yeah, it sounds kind of doomed especially if you were to make it romantic. 

WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE SECOND QUESTION

let me preface this that im not fundamentally against age gaps, even if im not super interested in it. after all, colorblind had a 5 yr age gap (with sakura being 21), even if, say, i wrote similar fics today i probably would make it smaller lol. i think it can be handled well if both parties have enough life experience to deal with it, and the author is cautious of where the age gap starts, i think a 10+ year age gap would be fine in a scenario where the younger party (i guess sakura) was at least 25-27ish, meaning she has completed most of her most formative life stages and probably had been in relationships before, meaning she would be able to handle it without having to fear a huge power imbalance. the older the younger party is the less the age gap is going to matter tbh .TsukiHoshino and AngelOfDeath10 both handle age gaps in their fics really well imo, so i do not mind reading about them.

unfortunately, a lot of people in this fandom think making sakura barely "”””legal””””” (18, not even 20 which is hilarious to me because the source material is obviously japanese) because they both cannot stand her being past her “prime years” of being young fertile and fuckable to much older men as well as thinking a 20 year old is automatically old enough to handle that type of relationship. ive seen a lot of unironic takes that believe it will absolve them of callout posts if they throw around age of consent and “shes 18 now suckers!!!” enough lmfao. absolutely hilarious. aging a minor up without aging the adult down seriously reeks of predatory “cant wait until youre 18″ narratives and thats why i find it similarly disturbing as straight up pedo shipping.

ultimately, sasosaku is and will always be a inherently problematic ship in canon, which is why i think it should always be handled a little more responsibly in fandom spaces, ignoring or outright excusing the main problem factor, which is sasori, isnt going to convince anyone that the dynamic in itself is well written and interesting enough to explore in aus, like giving sasori the redemption most of us wanted him to have by aging him down to a point in time where he was still realistically going to allow being positively influenced, similar to gaara. 

so really, what i think is well handled age gap and how most people handle age gap in the naruto fandom are two different worlds at times lol

canon shippers have never been anything but gross when i was younger and i didnt wanna be like that, even if youre “smart”enough to differenate, actual creeps dont really care and might use your content to blur the lines, sasori isnt rly redeemable so romantic canonverse realistically wouldnt make much sense and is still iffy, age gaps are fine if they are handled well, but given that the dynamic doesnt really need the age gap to still work im not that invested on making that an essential part of my shipping experience.

(I wrote the first paragraphs because my first lines alone don’t make much sense lol)

1- ACQUIESCENCE (Minato/Itachi) my first fic ever. darkish but just a little, angsty. I’m proud of it cause another author wrote a sequel to it.

 to ac·qui·esce: to accept, agree, or allow something to happen by staying silent or by not arguing. A flurry of leaves, swept away by the autumn wind, caught the Hokage's attention while he took off his large hat. That time of the year should have been warmer.

2- THE WILL OF FIRE (Shiita, Danzo/Shisui, Danzo/Itachi) This was dark and shiita fans didn’t like it lol.

 Just like his owner, Danzo's studio was dark and dusty. The man didn't look as old as Hiruzen, but he was twice as scary; thus would think a boy of Itachi's age. Not him. He was not allowed to be afraid.

3- WHAT HE WANTED (Itasasu) Even tho I rewrote it cause I didn’t like how I initially characterized them and their dynamics this is my most popular fic. Maybe because it’s a post-ending, canon divergent, fix-it kind of story. Maybe because it’s Itasasu and I put so much love into writing their dynamics and, also, in giving Sasuke a good ending since canon didn’t do him justice.

Sasuke is where everybody wants him to be: in Konoha. With the battle and the arm he also lost the urge to fight. He's had enough of traveling. He's tired of chasing and being chased. So tired that even if he meant every word about starting a revolution, being the Hokage and build a new era, he had wondered, though only for a moment, if he would be able to really accomplish such tasks all by himself.

4- IN POWER WE ENTRUST THE LOVE ADVOCATED (Itasasu) THis is my second most popular fic. This one too was written after the ending and tried to give Sasuke justice. I planned to write a sequel but I got busy with other projects and lost interest in it.

The gates open, letting the shinobi in after a successfully completed mission. Being on duty the following day Sasuke declines his team mates' proposal to have dinner together, the reddish sunset light forcing him to squint as he walks towards the Hokage's office.

5- PRESSURE (Itasasu) Taken from In Power that can be read as a standalone oneshot.

Itachi wakes up to the sound of pouring water.

6- IN DREAMS (Itasasu, Izuna/Sasuke, DARKFIC). This is one of the darkest things I wrote. The Izuna/Sasuke crackpair was for @admiral-izusasu. The plot, the dynamics, everything has a double, or triple reading, plot related and metaphorical for other, real-life issues such as knowing people online, and emotional abuse from narcissistic people. I wrote it when I was fighting against one of these psychos, on tumblr itself, so this fic has a personal meaning for me. But also the plot and the canon divergent ending thing is cool, I think it’s one of my best fics, even though I coulnd’t care less about izuna.

They say that nature will always find a way. After the end of the war flowers keep blooming like nothing happened even if the light is fainter, filtered from the tall branches of the Shinju tree, now grown into a forest spread all over the world.

7- SOMBER CREATION PALE DESTRUCTION (Madara/Sasuke dom/sub-ish). Darkish? Who knows, I write darkfish stuff all the time. I was (and am) very proud of this fic, the canon divergent turn it took (who am I kidding, it’s really cool lol) and the weird relationship/dynamics these 2 created. So I didn’t update it anymore, because doing so would break their thin balance. Ssssh, don’t tell me it doesn’t make sense, I don’t believe you xD

History teaches that Madara Uchiha died at the hands of Hashirama Senju. Their statues were erected in the Valley Of The End where their battle was fought, where the shinobi god ended his best friend's life in order to protect the village they founded together. No one knows that Madara didn't die there.

8- IN THE DARK (kakashi/Sasuke, mob/Sasuke noncon). This is a very dark oneshot that I’m proud of, cause it ‘explains’ canon Sasuke personality in Shinden and later, and that I use as prequel for many fics, like WHW but also OFAF and Broken Things (see later for both).

Things never went as Sasuke wanted. After the war it's no different, although everything seems fine at first, Team 7 finally at peace with each other, the war ended and the village that Itachi protected, even as a dead man, safe. Nevertheless he is arrested when he's still in the hospital.

9- VICTIMS OF PEACE (Shisui/Sasuke dom/sub-ish) I am so proud of this fic, of its non massacre universe, of the dark-ish slow burn relationship between Shisui and Sasuke I wrote, tentatively at first cause no one did it or thought much about it, and because that non massacre filler was bad, but still it was inspiration. I know shiita fans hated me even more for this cause shisui is only paired with itachi, and also itachi/itasasu fans were disappointed but still. This is maybe the fic I’m most proud of.

If a traveler arrived from a random village in the Fire Country he would certainly notice how different Konoha was. He would not be able to pinpoint exactly why at first, because the buildings, houses and shops are similar, just like their gardens, fields and animals. Only after some thought he would understand that the difference is in their people: other villagers are relaxed and casual, even loud. Children run around the streets, chasing each other, playing tag or hide-and-seek. Their fathers bring them presents and their mothers buy them new clothes.

10- OF FEATHERS AND FANGS (DARK Narusasu) I received a lot of hate for this one, which makes me proud of it even more. so many naruto stans were butthurt by my characterization of him as a possessive not sunshine selfless boy and their dynamics as crazy.

Jiraiya used to complain that the first sign of getting old was waking up at night for no reason and not being able to fall back asleep. For Naruto, this only happened after the war.

11- BLACK ROSES (Itasasu, dom/sub-ish) Smutty Bloody Darky Hokage Itachi/Anbu Sasuke oneshot

Because of his farsighted politics, his loyalty towards his allies as well as his iron fist against his enemies, Itachi quickly became one of the most respected leaders in the shinobi world, and because of his unequaled diplomatic skills, along with his vast culture, impeccable manners and refined appearance, he became popular among nobles, including the Daimyo, whose official visits increased since the Uchiha rose to power.

12- NELL’IPOTESI GRANDE (=IN THE BIG HYPOTHESIS) (MetaMoro, not Naruto) I’m very proud of this one cause it’s a psycho-pass inspired longfic set in a retrofuturistic Italy with a totalitarian consumeristic regime. But that fandom is so shitty and they all hate me cause I called them homophobic fascists so no one cares. The excerpt is translated too.

He’s reminded of Pirandello’s* words as he’s riding the automatic taxi across the city, exiting the center towards EUR. COmpared to Milan with its skyscrapers, multilevel streets, automatic cars and incessant novelties, the capital is basically the same as it was portrayed in old illustrations: renaissance and 20th century buildings, seagulls, pines among the Roman ruins, sycamore trees on the Lungotevere, that was probably already busy with traffic when people travelled on horse carriages. 13- DA UOMO A UOMO, MANO NELLA MANO (from man to man, hand in hand) (Metamoro) lol I was hated a lot for this one too. tbh the hate I received in the Naruto fandom is nothing compared to this other shitty fandom

For an artist like Fabrizio, mainly focused on expressing what he has inside, public relations are the hardest part of his job, especially when it’s about events where, instead of fans, of whom he perceives the sincere affection, other artists and professionals are invited. His experience taught him that most of them are hypocrites ready to jump on the winner’s bandwagon as quickly as to throw mud at the loser.

14- STRENGTH THROUGH WOUNDING (wip) (Obito/Sasuke, Obito/Itachi, dark.-ish) 

There is something nostalgic in the eerie way the boy's screams resonate through the dark cavern-like hideout, their pain bouncing from one curved wall to another, their anguish filling their crevices. It’s like hearing his past self from an external perspective, like Madara did. Which is fitting, for Obito is Madara now.

15- WORDS UNSAID (wip) (Kakashi/Sasuke) 

A black flame that cannot be extinguished: they had been warned about Amaterasu by Jiraiya, but seeing it was impressive nevertheless. The whole area was surrounded by black flames and the rain pouring hard could nothing against it. They found Sasuke there, surrounded, imprisoned by black flames that were extinguishing themselves, so they found a breach.

16- BLEEDING ME (Metamoro vampire/priest darkfic) No one can understand this in the Naruto fandom but it’s an AU interpretation of the Da UOMO A UOMO character dynamics where one is an emotional vampire-like person. I’m very proud of this fic tbh.

According to folk stories the forest was so big and full of dangers that God himself put a church where it ended, so that its priest would protect the people living nearby. It was a small, white building that didn’t match the typical stones and wood brownish ones of that region, with no stained glass windows or fancy columns, spires or gargoyles, only crosses with skulls and bones, and an engraving in an unknown language.

17- WILD CHILD (Metamoro cop/drug dealer AU). At this point I hate that fandom so much but I like my ideas and I write only for my girl whom I met in that very shitty fandom.

Everything seems bigger in children’s eyes. Like the playground in the courtyard of the church, with its slides and swings that for Ermal’s siblings were the setting of countless imaginary adventures which they told him in detail, enthusiastically interrupting each other, when he picked them up after school.

18- TRUE COLORS (Itasasu, dark, dom/sub) By now I’m only interested in writing dark IS and I enjoyed writing this one lol

"I knew you had it in you. You're a sadistic control freak. Even more than me." Orochimaru's voice resounded in Itachi's ears. Again.

19- OF FEATHERS AND FANGS 2: TO REPAIR WITH GOLD (Dark Narusasu). Cause I didn’t piss off NS fans enough I guess? lol this is ongoing and I like this idea so much

It's a rainy day in Konoha but no one seems to notice. Everyone is focused on the Hokage delivering his eulogy.

20- BROKEN THINGS (Shisui/Sasuke) My latest creation, I’m so proud of it cause it’s Shisasu again, my rarepair! and it was supposed to be a oneshot but it got longer because they have such a cool dynamic that things just happen and get longer.

In the Land of Water summers were hot and damp, autumn and spring were damp for the frequent rains and winter was no less, with its cold temperature and ubiquitous dampness. It wasn't a problem for Sasuke though.

He violated the law and the means to achieve the creation of this art form. He then performed a forbidden jutsu on himself to obtain those extra mouths, which could infuse chakra along with the clay. And so at last, he was finally able to create the kind of art he had longed for. [1/2]

I hope this formats correctly, but I absolutely agree with everything here lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kishimoto was suffering from burnout/overbearing editors at the time, since this was at Naruto's peak in terms of viewers/readers (I think? That sounds right but I'm not 100% sure haha). I think he even said that one of the reasons that the kakuzu/Hidan fight was so short was because editors were pushing him to get back to Sasuke :/ Apparently he had a lot more planned with Hidan's abilities in particular and what his scythe could do. I think of all the members Kakuzu's death was the worst. Like, how did this almost century old ninja not hear Naruto coming?? At least with Sasori being killed it was later explained that he kinda let it happen, but that's not in Kakuzu's character at all so it just doesn't make sense. Don't get me started on the fact that Shikamaru's plan was literally impossible to pull off.

Honestly the only death that felt decent was Itachi and Kisame's, but even then I feel his character was a bit fucked over. Kisame deserved to be redeemed and I'll die on that hill. Sasori's wasn't too bad, he definitely had the best fight, but I would have like to see more of him before he died.

As for the topic of Deidara's death, yeah, no. Sharingan is just bullshit no jutsu. It got WAY to powerful by the end of the series. At some point it went from "cool illusions and mimicking moves" to "absolutely over powered unstoppable force that can work in all situations no matter what for some reason". The power creep in Naruto is horrible, which is a large part of why the akatsuki just became pushovers by the end of it.

Also, never feel bad about submitting stuff like this, I may be hella slow to answer, but I do like discussions like this... and hating on Kishimoto's writing. That's always fun :p

I am eternally kind of puzzled about what Kishimoto was even thinking with the entire setup of Obito and Madara as two back to back villains. 

Because it’s just... such a weird structure? 

From everything I remember, they have the exact same goal and motivations. Like, literally one to one. The shinobi system is bad, there is no way to solve the endless conflicts, so the only solution is to just put everyone into a perfect genjutsu world of their own. That’s it. I haven’t the faintest idea why they even opposed each other except I guess they’re evil villains so they can never cooperate with someone and/or delusions of grandeur about being “savior of the world.” (WHY)

And this is kind of a problem? Because how do you make fighting two villains with the same goal and motivation interesting, one after another? It’s redundant. 

The thing is, fights aren’t just written to be just physical, most of the time. The protag doesn’t just win because they’re stronger, they win because they are morally superior in some way. Most of the time, they prove this by also overcoming the villain’s moral stance and making them give up emotionally. (Zabuza, Gaara, Nagato were all like this. The higher up the villain is on the overall scale, the more likely this is. A bunch of the Akatsuki wasn’t like this because they were basically fancier goons, and they also notably lacked any kind of real moral stance in the first place.) 

But once you defeat a particular villain argument (eg Infinite Tsukuyomi is the best way forward), then having to defeat the same argument AGAIN right afterwards would be just plain dull. 

So tbh I’m unsurprised that Madara went completely unaddressed and his only fight was purely physical with Gai. The series acts like Obito was defeated on the moral level, and once he was made to give up on Infinite Tsukuyomi, making Madara give up too would just be rehashing the same thing. 

(...In theory. In practice, Obito heel face turn was incredibly bizarre and didn’t actually address any of the points he brought up. But the show treats it like Naruto proved something, so it works out about the same.) 

Structurally, there were a few ways this could have been handled: 

1. Beat Obito only physically, but he doesn’t give up on his beliefs and willingly revives Madara. Then Madara is the one that needs to be morally defeated to overturn the concept of Infinite Tsukuyomi. 

I think this makes sense on the whole (since you can tie it in as “defeating Obito with pure force failed to address the underlying issue” paralleling why the shinobi system problems never go away), but trying to imagine Naruto emotionally bargaining with Madara is some next level comedy. He had to fall back on impromptu psychic bond and “HOKAGE DREAM” to get anywhere with Obito, and it was still a mess. Madara is basically completely unknowable and impenetrable to Naruto as he’s written. 

2. Have Obito be the one that gets worked over morally to overturn Tsukuyomi, and then present Madara as being so far gone and deranged that he basically rejects the moral superiority staring him right in the face, so there’s no need to reason with him. 

It would make some sense since Madara is old as dirt (aka more evil), but it would feel pretty hollow since Madara... doesn’t do much onscreen to prove that he’s worse off than Obito. This circles back to the issue of making Obito responsible for everything that went wrong in the entire series (except when Orochimaru did it instead lol). Obito went really far in his shit, so it would be really hard to actually ground the idea that Madara is worse. 

It would have also made more sense to have Obito break with Madara at this point instead of... earlier... for no reason except wanting to be the one who activates Infinite Tsukuyomi... for some reason... 

3. Just give them two different goals. For god’s sake. 

4. Honestly? Not make two different villains. 

There are so many little issues that come from this. Stuff like 14 year old Obito taking on flee on sight genius Minato, or Madara’s entire “plan” to die and then get resurrected but young for some reason. The number of things that could have gone wrong, leading to his Rinnegan being lost is staggering. (And then the eyeballs kind of just hang around? Preserved by magic? After Nagato dies??) 

Also, Obito just doesn’t have the... narrative “weight” to be the main series villain. With the way the later parts of the story go, it doesn’t add up to have the central villain be a nobody with no real connection to anyone important (aka Naruto and Sasuke). Madara at least works out from the perspective of being key to Konoha’s creation. But then he ends up being a dude who existed purely to create the Rinnegan and then screw over Obito (thus undermining Obito’s entire thing too). Just stick with Madara the whole way through but depower him in the middle, or something. 

...Obviously, none of this happened. Instead we got... “we proved Obito is wrong, so Madara is obviously wrong too, and he accordingly gets eaten by Kaguya, who has no heart, so we don’t need to talk to her at all.”
