Alright not to like liveblog my breakdown on main but yesterday was a really bad day after a really bad, like, 4 months, and I've hit a bit of a breaking point and one of the only things in my life that can give is running @mdzsartreblogs , @tgcfartreblogs , @svsssartreblogs , @erhaartreblogs , @tykartreblogs , and @cnovelartreblogs , so that is what has to give. It's been a 99-out-of-100 days thankless job. A small number of people do say thank you and yall I appreciate you so much (HUGE shout-out to the artist I met at Flamecon who gifted me a zine when I said I ran these blogs, @bonesblubs you rock) but I have never done an act of fandom labor simultaneously this labor intensive yet this invisible before and, uh. It sucks. I spend an hour or more a day on this every day, if it's under 2k hours since I started the first of these in September 2020 I'd be shocked. And I do it because I love it but doing it means I don't have time or energy to do other things I love. And I really don't want to just quit, but I can't keep this up.
In a last-ditch effort to try not to just give up, I'm making the following changes:
1. Only watching one tag per fandom for the MXTX fandoms. I am going to check *only* #tgcf, #svsss, and #mdzs. Artwork posted to any other tag, I will not see unless a mutual reblogs it.
2. Reduced tagging (even more). I'm only going to tag characters and maybe overarching au type (eg, "modern au," "fantasy au"). I'll no longer tag creatures. I will continue to tag the same common trigger warnings I already tag.
3. If a work's appearance doesn't make it obvious what it is AND the tags aren't clear, I'm not going to reblog. I can't keep spending 5 minutes or more trying to figure out what I'm even looking at, scared that if I guess wrong the artist will get mad at me for mistagging their work. If I do reblog, I'll tag only the artist name and/or whatever else I can identify for sure.
4. I am no longer going to follow #link click. The fandom is just too big. I've started dreading checking it. If I was more into it and less busy I would make another spin off just for it but neither of those is true. (The art is so good, I hate to do this, but. If you love link click, highly recommend the main tag, lots of great stuff there.)
5. I will no longer tag any non-cnovel content in the art/post. Like, if someone draws, idek, Xie Lian and Marinette from Ladybug, I'm not gonna put any tags for Marinette, just for Xie Lian.
6. Basically if I run into something hard to tag or confusing or unclear, my new policy is I'm not gonna fricken bother.
I think those are everything but idefk, I cried for 3 hours last night and got 4 hours of sleep so I'm mostly fueled by exhaustion and desperation right now and my memory is even more fried than usual.
How artists can help. This is obviously all optional. You do you. But since some people might want to know what would make my life easier, I'm sharing. I'm not claiming I feel entitled to dictate how people fandom or anything like that.
1. Put the tags for the character(s) and ship(s) early in the tag list.
2. If you make art for a fandom that isn't one of the big ones (right now the only big danmei fandoms on tumblr as far as I can tell are the MXTX fandoms and maybe 2ha) I am begging you to use my tracked tag #cnovelartreblogs
3. Do mdzs art? Tag #mdzs. Do tgcf art? Tag #tgcf. Do svsss art? Tag #svsss.
4. Not only artists, but everyone, *please* stop tagging fandoms not discussed and/or depicted in your post. It's gotten to be stupid common for people to blanket the danmei fandom tags with posts only about one fandon (like, svsss-only works also being tagged mdzs and tgcf and 2ha for some damn reason). This isn't about just my sideblogs tbh this is just fandom etiquette that seems to have been forgotten or never learned by many. Tagging unrelated fandoms isn't "reach," it's annoying. People go into the #mdzs tag to see mdzs, not whatever not-mdzs stuff people have decided to tag for ~reach~, and seeing the same post in 8 tags, none of which it's related to, is so damn irritating, and makes scrolling the tags looking for content that IS relevant take that much longer. Knock it off.
Okay. I think that's as much as I'm prepared to meltdown where everyone can see. Thanks in advance everyone for your understanding, and apologies to everyone about to see this 8 times as I reblog it to each sideblog.
At least I'm not tagging it to everywhere. 🤣🤣🤣

the end of charactersmashorpass
i'll be real with you, i'm pretty wiped and don't really wanna run this blog anymore. it's not anyone's fault, i've had fun running it, but i don't have the same energy and dedication that teenage me had to running a sideblog like this with this consistent of traffic, and i'm getting busier and busier in my real life. i don't plan on deleting the blog so don't freak out, but i just don't have the motivation to continue posting submissions
if you (or a group of you) have the motivation to make a successor blog, i will happily promote it, same with media specific blogs inspired by mine. shoot me an ask (they're easier for me to see) with a url if you want me to direct some of my following to you! it's been fun, and i'm sure there's plenty of people out there who would do a much better job than me, lol
sincerely, the charactersmashorpass mod :)

🥰🌷
Tumblr media
This time, no business dinner, no café closing, Bucky decided he was going to invite you for a real date. He was done waiting for his turn.
Since your last encounter, you both texted each other almost all day, sometimes during the night. You even called him, saying it will be easier than typing.
Everything was going smoothly, too smoothly to Bucky liking, but he tried to let his pessimist voice in the closet.
From Y/N
So … I looked over my agenda, im free all weekend, so whenever you can, I’m down for the restaurant.
Did you realise it was a date? Bucky started to overthink and imagine you were just being friendly, not flirting with him, maybe he was to blind…maybe you were not interest.
From Y/N
I was even thinking…what about doing brunch on Saturday then go on a little walk and maybe…well we can see where that lead us? If you’re free of course… 😉
He smiled, the entire day together? Gosh, did he deserve to be this lucky.
From Bucky
This sounds amazing, I’m free all Saturday, going overboard on Sunday. JBB
You giggled; it was cute that he always ended his texts with JBB.
From Bucky
May I come and get you? If you’re not afraid of motorbikes.
“You have to say yes, that’s like super-hot”, interfered your best friend.
“Can you not read my texts?” You said in a fake annoyed ton.
From Y/N
Sounds even better! Let me text you my address… say around 10am?
“Well, finally you’re getting somewhere?” chimed Sam.
“Can you not read my texts?”
Bucky glared at Sam who was just smiling at him, innocently.
Saturday
You were up since 6am, absolutely panicking. You were going to spend most of your day with Bucky, if last night you were impatient, right now, you wonder if it will not be easier to call him to say you were sick. Like if your best friend was in your head, she sent you a text:
“No, you’re not sick, it’s gonna be a good day. It’s your turn, love. Your time to live what you write about for all these years. Go leave your romantic novel. You got this!”
You smiled, grateful for her words.
An incoming call, Bucky, you anserwed:
“Yes?”
“Hi, it’s me, I mean bucky…I’m a bit early, but the weather is so nice I thought… we could take the longer way to enjoy the ride? Is…is that okay?”
“More than okay, let me just put my shoes on and I’ll be right here.”
“Okay, doll, see ya!”
“B---bye”
Did he just call me doll?
You shook your head and put your shoes and jacket on. Running down the stairs, you were meet with a nice view. Bucky was leaning on his bike, arms crossed, biceps bulging, and he looked…ravishing.
“Hey cowboy!” you cheered.
He chuckled and walked to you. “Hey there, doll…is that okay if I call you that? I just realise after the phone that…”
You shut him off with your hand on his left arm. “It’s totally okay, I’m just not use to have a nickname, old fashion one, use for me from a guy.”
“Cowboy is also new to me”, he smiled sheepishly, taking your hand carefully from his left arm, that’s when you realise.
“Oh sorry! I didn’t…I mean, tell me if your left arm is a no touch zone…okay?”
He kissed your hand. “For now, I prefer not. “
He led you to the bike and handed you a helmet. But before you could put it on, he’s phone ranged and he looked at it, cursing.
“What now ?...really…fuck now is not the time and you know it. Can…of course…but fuck Sam…yeah, you’ll make it up to her.”
He hung up and looked at you with the most puppy eyes you’ve ever seen.
“I’m so sorry doll…, but…duty is calling, I have to go early, the target has moved faster and…”
“I get it, go save the world and yes, Sam must make it to me” you smiled, a bit disappointed. “I really was looking for our day.”
“So do I…gosh, Y/N, I wish I could stay here right now.”
He held your hands and you came closer to him.
“Come back fast, okay? We can have maybe… brunch at my place, I make the most perfect banana pancakes.”
He cupped your cheek with his right hand, stroking your cheekbone. “I’ll do my best; I’ll text you when I’m on my way back.”
You nodded, putting your hand on his chest. “Be safe, cowboy.”
“I will, I have a reason to come back now.” With that he kissed your forehead and left without looking back.
When he was out of sight, you called your best friend.
“My life is a fucking joke…”

want to add commentary on the intent/impact post but don't want to make a sideblog for jewposting just for that since it's midnight where I am. I can confirm that I go to a college with no hillel and a student-run Jewish community and it is a LOT of work to run something like that. A student literally needed to write and send out an email to the Jewish community directly after 10/7. It's ironically gotten easier since then because the school finally needed to hire a better campus rabbi (former campus rabbi barely participated in the community), but I still have wished for a better established organization many times
Honestly, even running a club back in high school was a lot of work.
I ran my schools QSA in my last year of school and I didn't even run it for the whole year as I dropped out due to mental health. But when I was running it, it took a lot of time to come up with an acitivity or presentation to do every week. I also ws there for any younger queer folk needing any guidence or assistance. I spent a good portion of my time finding uniforms for fellow trans folk so they can wear the uniform of their preferred gender at school as either they were not out at home and couldn't have their parents buy them a new uniform or it was too expensive. Thankfully after uniform spent a certain amount of time in the lost and found it became a free for all so I took so many items for free to hand out, and i also spent a lot of time using my sewing skills to tailor the uniform to fit people as you couldn't always find free uniforms in their size.
And that was with a high school level club, with me skipping classes by sitting in the counselors office at least one class a day, as well as a few free periods and just going home early as I was not coping at school. I cannot image the stress organizing something which requires a lot more attention, a lot more safety precuations (as unfortunately antisemites are harder to dispell than edgy 14 year olds who you just roast the shit out of them and they leave), as well as so many other factors.

Hey, for some reason my Tumblr's making it really hard to find WWE rn— so apologies if you'd rathered I asked there, but I'm considering running my own Whump event for one of my fandoms, and I was wondering if you had any like advice or tips for running whump-centric events or just in general??? /genq /nf
Hiya anon! Thanks for stopping by! (I'll reblog this post with the WWE account so you can find it in the notes.) So! Event-running! This is the first event I've ever done, but it was honestly such a blast. Here are some things I learned from it:
-> Have a separate event sideblog, please. You don't want your main account mentioned a thousand times. It's much easier to find everything when it's sorted all in one block of notifications. Set it up from the get go. Learn from my mistakes.
-> Also, have your participants mention the sideblog. Not every post will show up in the event tag.
-> Lay out the event rules before you start the prompts. Consider including an FAQ. Define what is in the theme of the event before designing the event. Keeping everything concise right away will help when making prompts.
-> Find a time and a length that works for you. Don't feel pressured to do a 31 day event just because it's long. Week-long events are beloved, especially in fandom communities. However, if you've got a solid amount of time and the motivation to commit, go all out and have a blast with it.
-> Participate in your event! If you're running it, you may not have the time, but the prompts should be something that inspires you too--so don't feel afraid to fill a few prompts and post them. (Unless it's a competition. Then, you're the judge.)
-> Make connections with people in the community. Having a friend along the way who will hype up your event goes for a lot. Shoutout to Bug and Mello for the WWE. The hype kept me going.
-> Spread the word! Ask for interest in the event, garner community support, post your prompts in advance and answer asks quickly and timely. Find a whump blogger to signal boost it (me! I will gladly!).
-> Relax and have fun. In the end, running the event seems like a bigger deal than it actually is--your job is to set it up and reblog. After that? You just watch the community go wild.
I hope this helps! And, side note: what fandom is this for, anon? Chances are I will happily participate!

Pin and Needle
Whump writing masterlist | G/t writing tag
g/t sideblog here! @smallsday
content: g/t, whump, tiny whump, borrowers, animal attack, caretaking, needles/stitches, hurt/comfort, fear, past child neglect, probable medical inaccuracies, found family
Whumpmas in July Day 3: Stitches & Bandages GT July Day 3: Impulsive Two Weeks of Whump Day 2: Needles
of my 10 Whumpmas in July entries, 3 of them will be combos with GT July! here's the first of those! i will never get tired of writing borrower whump. i should write a borrower whump series someday. for any non-g/t people unfamiliar, borrowers are a species of tiny people who secretly live in humans' houses, like fairies without wings. if you've ever seen anything labeled "tiny whump", this is that.
-
Pin had been a dad for five years now, and he liked to think he was getting pretty good at it.
The kid was already seven and self-sufficient enough to not die on her own for who knows how long when he found her, so he didn't have to deal with any of that baby crap. Now she was twelve, and she was better at some stuff than he was.
Pin decided to go borrowing while the kid slept in today, with the human off at school. It was perfect, because then he could take his time looking for a surprise. Today was the five-year anniversary, and he wanted to make it special. There was a lot he'd missed in Chime's life, and from what the kid had said about her old parents, they weren't exactly in the habit of celebrating her.
He had to make it special.
Pin had already gathered all the food and supplies he needed to grab, so all that was left was the present. He'd been looking around every time he went out, but he couldn't see anything. The human lived by himself- mostly, aside from that damn cat he'd brought home last month- and was a starkly healthy eater. Not a lot of little bits and bobs he could use to make toys for her, either.
It had been easier to get treats for the kid with the family who used to live in the apartment, who always kept sweets around, but food was food. It was better for the kid this way in the long run, anyway. But he really wished he could get her a treat, just this once.
He didn't really go into the human's room. He was of the opinion that a man needed his privacy, and food was supposed to be kept in the kitchen, so why would he need to? Most of all, the cat liked to hang out in there, and that was a risk he didn't need to take. Apparently the human was just watching it for a friend, which was the only reason he hadn't taken the kid and moved. But maybe the guy was hiding some snacks in there. From all the studying he seemed to do in there, it was likely, right?
Just this once.
Pin approached the bedroom. He could probably have squeezed himself through the gap under the door if he needed to, but the door was open a crack. He peeked in.
The cat snoozed happily on the chair left messily pulled out from the desk. Perfect, it was asleep. All he had to do was not make noise and-
It didn't take long for Pin to find his prize. There, right on the desk, a bag of marshmallows. Bingo. The bag even proclaimed them "mini", like they were made for borrowers. He could probably fit two or three in his rucksack to surprise the kid with when she wakes up.
Even with the chair pulled away, it was a little too close to the cat for comfort. He really should turn around and just try and make the kid another toy.
Ah, fuck it.
Pin could take a little risk. The cat was asleep. He readied his sticky hand- a human children's toy, a little less reliable than a grappling hook but much quieter- and climbed his way up the desk.
No issues. He was in the clear. He ripped a small hole in the bag and stuffed three marshmallows in his pack.
When he turned around, the cat was not asleep.
It stared straight at him with huge, yellow eyes, pupils constricted and tail flickering back and forth.
"Oh, shit. Hey, kitty," Pin whispered, backing away slowly.
The cat hunkered down, its hindquarters wiggling slightly, like-
Heart pounding, Pin dropped the pack and ran. But he was too slow, of course he was too slow, he was five inches tall. Borrowers weren't made to be fast, they were made to be sneaky, and he'd done the one thing a borrower was never supposed to do: he'd been found.
The cat was on the desk in an instant and its paws pinned him to its surface in another, their fuzzy exteriors giving way to claws stabbing through his clothes, through his skin. He screamed, trying to squirm away, but that only made the agony intensify, the claws dragging through flesh as blood stained his ruined clothes.
"No! Stop!" he cried uselessly, gasping with pain, but the cat didn't listen. Its head drew closer, mouth opening to reveal a maw full of sharp teeth that could easily crush bones.
Pin wailed in despair. He was going to die a violent, bloody death before he even hit forty. It wasn't supposed to end like this!
He kicked wildly, and by some stroke of luck, he managed to land a hit on the cat's snout, causing it to rear back a little.
That was all he needed. Pin tore away from the paws, letting out another shriek as they popped through his skin, and ran toward the front of the desk as fast as he could, dropping blood behind him.
The cat spun, tail flickering and ears forward with excitement.
"Fuck off!" Pin shouted. He shoved the desk drawer open just enough to slide in, landing on the bottom with a grunt.
The cat's paw dove in after, reaching for him. He scrambled to the back of the drawer, trembling in terror.
"Calm- calm down," he told himself, trying to get his quick breathing under control. The drawer was too small: even if the cat got it open, it wouldn't be able to fit all the way in the back. He wrapped his arms around himself, quickly becoming soaked in blood as his midsection throbbed with pain.
It was so dark, the only light coming from the sliver where the cat's paw batted around, searching for him. Pin grabbed at the piece of paper he found himself sitting on, tearing off a piece with shaking hands and wrapping it over himself like a bandage. He pressed it there tightly, even as it became soaked with blood, too.
Pin always tried to be strong for the kid. But Chime wasn't here right now, so he let himself cry. It was the worst pain he'd ever felt in his life, and he might still die. What would happen to him? How was he going to get back home? What if he didn't stop bleeding and he died here in the dark?
He didn't know how long he'd been sitting there when the front door clicked open, making him startle in his frazzled state. The human wasn't supposed to be home yet, was he? Or had he just been sitting here that long?
"This is why I need to check my emails, Yarny!" the human called. Right, the beast that might have caused his slow, painful death was named Yarny.
The cat's paw retreated and it hopped off the desk, exiting the room with a loud, insistent meow.
"Yarny!" the human gasped. "Is that blood!? What happened? Are you hurt?"
Oh no. The human was going to find him if he didn't move. Pin stood up: now that the cat was gone, he needed to get out of here.
He took one step, stumbled, and sat right back down as his vision spun.
"Oh, thank god," the human said distantly. "What, then, did you catch a mouse? Please tell me it's not still running around my apartment."
The human was going to kill him.
He would die without even getting to say goodbye to Chime. She was going to be abandoned again, this time by him. No kid should have to go through that. He was supposed to be getting her a present. How had this all gone so wrong? He didn't want to die.
But the footsteps drew closer, and he didn't have a choice. He scooted back into the corner of the drawer, clutching the paper around himself like he would even have the time to bleed out. He sobbed, hoping it would at least be quick.
The door creaked as the human swung it open, pattering over to the desk. Pin's whole world rumbled around him as the human slid the drawer open, revealing him trembling in the corner.
"H-hi," Pin said weakly.
The human stared, eyes wide with disbelief. Pin had never been so close to a human before. He was even bigger up close. He looked like he might have been, well, a scrawny nerd, maybe a little more than half Pin's age if he had to guess, but things like that didn't matter at his size. A human baby could crush him, let alone a young man.
"What are you?" the human asked, incredulous.
The last thing Pin was going to do was put his species at risk. He shrugged. "Dying," he squeaked, unable to keep casual.
"Oh, oh no." The human seemed to snap out of his incredulous stupor, enormous hands reaching toward him. Pin cringed back, but the human scooped him up anyway.
Pin squeezed his eyes shut and held his breath, trying not to whimper, but no death came for him. The human's hands were gentle, carrying him out of the drawer.
"Yarny, no," the human chastised, closing the bedroom door behind him as he walked out to the kitchen. He turned his attention to Pin. "I'm so sorry, I don't even know what you are. Yarny hurt you?"
"Yeah." He slowly opened his eyes, staring up at the giant. His trembling started up again. "Are you gonna kill me?"
"What? No!" The human seemed to realize he was making Pin uncomfortable and set him down carefully on the counter. "I won't hurt you, I promise. I'm- well, I'm not a doctor yet, I'm just a med student- are you still bleeding?"
Pin let out a shaky sigh of relief. His heart still raced with terror, but if the human was able to help him- well, he'd already been found.
He pulled the paper away from his injuries, getting a good look for the first time. Several bloody marks raked down his left side where the cat had sunk its claws into him. Blood oozed from them, warm and red.
"Look, uh," Pin didn't know the human's name. He almost never had company over, and no one just says their own name to themself. "Human guy. I know you don't know me but, you gotta help me, okay? I have a kid waiting up for me." It was risky revealing Chime's existence, but he never said he lived here, and since the human knew nothing about him, he'd have no way of knowing. His voice shook a little as he pled his case. "Single dad. She's got no one else. I can't die here, alright? C'mon. It- it hurts."
"Of course I'll help you!" the human exclaimed. He wrung his hands nervously. "It's just- I'm really not qualified, yet, is the thing. I could drive you to the emergency room? Or maybe, um, given your size, a small animal vet?"
"I'm not an animal!" Pin insisted, offended. "No, no, kid, listen. You can do this, alright? I've seen those books you keep in the living room. You got all the diagrams and shit. I can't be going to an emergency room and showing myself off to everybody. Just fix me and I'll be out of your hair."
"I haven't even done residency yet!" the human protested. "I've done a suture practice kit, but that's for normal-sized wounds, and it's just for practice, and I can't even determine that you need stitches because I'm not a doctor!" After a moment, he added, "And my name's Kendry."
"Pin," he introduced himself. "Practice kit's better than nothing. Just do that." He couldn't have this human take him out to get prodded at by a bunch of other humans, it sounded like his worst nightmare. "And I'm rushing you, 'cause I'm getting dizzy here."
Kendry looked alarmed at that. "Oh- okay!" he agreed, obviously still anxious. "Can you take off your shirt so I can examine you?"
"You got it." Pin removed the tatters that were once his shirt, wincing as the movement ignited more pain in his side.
Kendry peered closer. "I- yeah, I'm going to give you stitches. I would really like to take longer, but you can't have that much blood in you... I'm not a vet..." he trailed off.
"Good, 'cause I'm not a mouse," Pin grumbled, but the repeated broaching of the topic made him nervous. If Kendry saw him as a fellow person, he would probably be okay. But if the human saw him as an animal... who knows what he would do to him? The fact that his life laid entirely in this giant stranger's hands was terrifying.
"I'll be right back." Kendry dashed out of the kitchen, returning with a black fabric case. He unzipped it to reveal a cut-up silicone pad with all the cuts neatly sewn closed, curved needles of various sizes, thread, a bunch of different tweezers, and a few sets of scissors as tall as Pin.
Oh, he didn't like that last part at all.
But Kendry reached for the smallest curved needle, which still looked pretty damn big. "This is the practice kit. I did pretty well with the suture pad, but you're so small..." he fretted. He threaded the needle, pulled a packet from a drawer, ripped it open, and wiped the needle, thread, and one tweezer down with the tissue inside. He opened another one and held it hesitantly in front of Pin.
"I need to sanitize you first. Cats' claws can carry germs, I don't want you to get infected. It's going to sting," he warned. "I'm sorry, I can't give you anything for the pain, I'm worried you might even overdose on ibuprofen at your size..."
Pin maneuvered himself onto his other side, letting his injury face up toward Kendry, way too vulnerable. "It already stings, and I don't know what ibuprofen is. Just do it."
"Okay. Here goes." Kendry swiped the wipe over Pin's side, and he had to bite his cheek to keep from shrieking. It hurt, the fluid inside seeping into his open wounds.
"Are you okay?" Kendry asked.
"I will be once this thing stops bleeding," Pin said, voice strained.
"Alright, I just need you to hold still. Is it okay if I...?" Kendry brought his other hand to hover around him.
Pin hated the idea of being held in place, unable to move, but he nodded anyway. Whatever the doc-in-training had to do. "Go for it."
Kendry rested a finger on his back and a thumb on his chest, holding him gently but firmly in place despite Pin's continued trembling. "Just try and stay still. I'm sorry if it hurts. I'll do my best," he promised.
The needle entered his skin, dipping in and out as Pin fought the urge to squirm away. He couldn't hold back this time, sobbing harder every time the needle re-entered him. There were no more check-ups from Kendry: Pin could see, through tear-blurred eyes, all his focus was on the wound.
After way too long, Kendry released his hold, allowing Pin freedom of movement again. He didn't take advantage of it, exhausted by blood loss and his ordeal.
"Don't move," Kendry told him anyway. He grabbed one of the scissors.
Pin put his hands up, adrenaline flooding him. "I won't! What are you doing with that!?"
"Easy." Kendry wiped that down with the stinging wipe, too. "You still have the thread attached. I won't hurt you." He glanced down at the scissors, then back at Pin. "I know it must seem frightening to someone your size, but I'm just going to cut the thread. Honest."
"Right. Right, yeah." Pin forced himself to relax, lowering his hands back down as Kendry snipped the thread, leaving several wounds in his side stitched up relatively neatly.
Kendry grabbed a band-aid, one of the few medical tools Pin liked to take to keep around under the floorboards, and peeled the plastic away. He dropped some clear-ish gel from a tube onto the center. "I'm going to add some Neosporin on it just to be safe. An infection would wreak havoc on you."
"Sounds good to me," Pin agreed, sitting up. Kendry wrapped the band-aid around his body, the stitches hidden underneath. Good. He didn't want the kid to freak out about it.
"There. That went... pretty well, I think," Kendry said, almost stunned. "Where can I... discharge you to?"
"Thanks. The floor," Pin instructed. He could just get back home when Kendry wasn't looking. He'd have to find a new place after that, now that the human knew. Even if he was friendly enough to help, there was no way he'd want them to stay. "I'll be out soon as I can move around right."
Kendry tilted his head, the situation finally clicking. "Were you... living here?"
"Uh, yeah," Pin admitted. "Since before you moved in, actually."
"Oh! Well, um, I'm not going to kick you out after you just got attacked. You're... my patient. That wouldn't do," Kendry decided. "Does your daughter live here, too?"
The jig was pretty much up at this point. If Kendry wanted to hurt him, he already would have. "Yeah. Which is why I'm not telling you exactly where. I'm thankful and all, but... you get it."
"Oh, of course," Kendry agreed quickly. "You're just being a good dad."
Pin smiled at that, despite the pain. He wiped the tears from his face. "Thanks. I try, you know? She's not even my kid by blood, she actually lived here before either of us. I was scouting for a new place when I found her here all on her own. Seven years old, could you believe that?"
"What!? That's crazy!" Kendry pulled up a chair and sat, transfixed. "Seven years old, four inches tall?"
"Three tall. She was little. Apparently her parents had too many kids, so they just started kicking 'em out as soon as they were old enough. I don't think seven's old enough, but hey, what do I know?" Pin shook his head. "Today's the five-year anniversary of when we met. Usually stay out of your room, you gotta have your privacy, but I wanted to get the kid something special. Could I still get a few of those marshmallows?"
"Oh! Yeah, of course!" Kendry ran off toward the room, returning with a handful of mini-marshmallows as well as Pin's rucksack and sticky hand. "I figure these are yours?"
"Yeah. Thanks for being cool about everything." This was going so much better than he'd expected. "We'll move out soon. Probably should have the day you brought the cat."
"Um, you could stay if you want." Kendry offered, hope flashing in his eyes. "You were here first, after all."
This guy was obviously ridiculously lonely. But he mentioned having a friend? "I mean, yeah, that'd be great, if it's really alright. You okay?"
"Yeah! It's just- I lost my parents a few years ago," Kendry admitted. "You seem like... a really good dad. I don't want to make things harder for you. I don't mind having roommates."
Ah, so that was it. Pin reached out and patted Kendry's hand. He wouldn't mind having another pseudo-kid. "Me neither."

Hello, it's been a while since I've sent something lol. Had my birthday and a bunch of other stuff in the last few weeks, so my month's been busy lol
I've been debating on if I want to make a sideblog for DBH or not for a little while (I haven't posted much on my main in a while and feel awkward just posting random stuff again lol, plus I'd like to start organizing my fixations into side blogs or whatever lol), plus I've kinda wanted to rewrite DBH or something (though I'm not the best writer).
Anyway, I'm curious on some headcanons you have about androids themselves? Like any functions or lifespans or what?
Also watched the Tech Demo with Kara and such, where she says stuff like how her "battery" can help her run automonously for, like, 173 years? That's a long time, especially since it seems like the rest of their body (or at least several) has planned obsolescence?
She also mentions she's a third-generation AX400, which also makes me curious about how "generations" of androids work.
Rambling a lot, lol, but yeah, I'm just curious about what your thoughts or ideas are on how they function and whatnot :0
- Connor-#51
It’s so nice to hear from you again! :) And happy belated birthday 🎉
You should definitely make a side blog for DBH! It’s so fun, you’d love it. And a rewrite would literally be so awesome! Having a sideblog is really useful for promoting your fics and other content too 🫶
OOH LOVE THIS QUESTION ‼️ Here’s a few Android head canons I have when it comes to functionality and all that:
More “common” androids (such as caretakers, houseworkers, and receptionists) have much longer lifespans than more “advanced” models like combat androids or those made for special cases—like Connor. I think this because those “common” models tend to be quite personable. They’re usually in a home, form routines that humans close to them rely on, and even as times change a maid’s program barely has to be updated. Cleaning, cooking, and babysitting stays pretty consistent. Whereas more special case androids are usually in fields that change wildly and however they were made or appear probably won’t suit the conditions for long. So I head canon those common androids probably are built with the intention of longevity (even if new models become available, upgrades aren’t required) whereas models like Connor are built with the intention of a shorter shelf life.
I know rationally it’s accepted (and maybe confirmed? Can’t remember) that their skin and hair is a hologram. But I personally headcanon it’s not and that they can coat themselves in a layer of synthetic skin and hair. I feel it like makes more sense to 1.) make people more comfortable with the androids (it’s gonna be way easier for a child to bond with a caretaker android if when she takes its hand, it feels like human skin rather than hard and cold) and 2.) when considering sex work androids, who is going to want to pay to be intimate with something hard and plastic-y feeling to the touch yknow? I’m sure people would, but if it doesn’t feel human, I doubt it would be as popular. And I’m sure they would make the others in the same way even if they’re not doing sex work cause I additionally headcanon that pretty much all androids (except for children and maybe a few others) have some kind of genitalia. Because we know how people are, I’m sure any android that works in the home is probably equipped for intimacy. And there are the life partner androids as well. Etc, etc.
I know a lot of people head canon them to be very heavy cause they’re walking machines full of thirium, but I don’t think androids are any heavier or lighter than standard human weight. I imagine the weight of their blood is the heaviest part as their bodies are probably made of something sturdy but lightweight. And the inner mechanisms coming in at the second heaviest. I just think that would even out to being more or less pretty standard

Hey I love your work. Listen, I want to hear what your favorite topic is. What's something you could talk extensively about and never get bored? What has your unflagging enthusiasm and dedication?
Make it a long post! Put your heart out there! You do so much for us, I want to hear about your favorite things now. (If this isn't allowed, I am also always eager to hear about map making!)
Oh. Oh hoho.
Well I in general love worldbuilding. But in total, my interest leans towards things that are... Easier, so to say.
Neography, for example, as the "flavor" of worldbuilding. Conlangs, albeit I do tend to lean towards cryptolangs more. And mapmaking, solely geographic that is. Nations and stuff gets too trickier after a while.
I am planning on making a YouTube channel with me ranting about majority of my worldbuilding-related stuffs, with no bullshit statements like "hard worldbuilding is objectively better than soft worldbuilding" because... Those are made up terms. And as a linguist/etymologist I fucking hate made up terms. A rock is a rock, no matter what language. Things like laziness, gender, or duty and honor. Those are abstract, and easily manipulated, easily twisted. Hell in many cases these things do not exist at all (I personally don't believe in nationality, laziness and gender. Nationality is a defunct tool of uniting primitive people together, laziness is always a sign of disability or dismotivation, and gender is just bullshit).
But I could rant just a little I guess, for you the asker xD
Neography.
How genius it is to sometimes see a whole script become the face of a franchise, instantly recognizable and fancy. Tengwar, Klingon, Vulcan, Daedric, Aurebesh - You name it, they are all tasty as pie. They are done beautifully and by experts, high standard and fancy looking, unlike some scripts I prefer to call "cereal box ciphers" (The most notorious example for me is the Artemis Fowl Gnommish script. Just why.)
My @thecrazyneographist and now @fuckyeahasemic sideblogs are dedicated just to that - Neography. As well @verical, dedicated solely to my Verical script.
I have been commissioned by a comic artist in Chicago to create a script for him, have worked with r/starfall for a while, and right now my already invented scripts Satuuoorn and Wisehand/Xeotaijuep'af are being used by a gamedev for a first-person shooter/slasher >:D
I have. So many writing utensils at home. I have written calligraphy with a sharpened chopstick once. I still own it I think.
Gods just. NEOGRAPHY. It's knowledge put in written form - I am writing right now and it's a whole experience! I know how to write in Latin yes, but other scripts, scripts of MY making... That's a different experience. I can write in several made-up scripts by me: Age Mason, Verical, Taenic/Taenian and Bosutoku/Tetumonigo.
Conlangs.
Me and a friend are running @conlangcrab about them.
Conlangs are such an intricate part of worldbuilding. They give the world their own sound.
Though I am too driven-crazy by ADHD and unable to keep my sails steady on a singular conlang project, unmedicated, I usually prefer cryptolangs instead; An invention/coined word o'mine standing for "the middle between conlangs and ciphers; ciphers that change written information while keeping it pronounceable". Check out @cryptolangsguy for more info on that.
I so dislike when conlangs are done bad* in worldbuilding; Just as I dislike bad neography. In many cases writers are monolingual and really don't know the struggle of knowing several languages (fyi, I know 3 irl. bugger, ong).
Mapmaking.
I will just share all the maps I've ever created JUST for the RP server I am DMing, as well as the current map of Raskol - The setting for the oncoming Caramel Dice playtesting campaign.

im happy you havent experienced how tme people can harvest social clout and other benefits by cultivating transmisogyny against trans women, alienating us, and making examples of us, but this very much does happen. like people very much do care more specifically about "what" someone is, and due to the inconvenience we pose to society and gender as institutions by existing as trans women, there are going to be social benefits to hollowing us out. people who arent affected by transmisogyny can wield it to their benefit, and often do, even if its against a larger specter of a trans women than a specific unfortunate one of us. idk. i dont think you're listening to your sisters and thats not safe in the long run
i have experienced this. i have been ejected from multiple queer social groups on flimsy accusations of sexual predation and perversion. hell, if youve known me long enough, you probably know that theres a callout post somewhere on this godforsaken website that refers to me as a rapist and my wife as my accomplice because back before the porn ban i had a nsfw sideblog where i rbed a lot of weird porn. this is not an exaggeration. i have lost entire friend groups because of this shit.
and... yeah, in those instances, those peoples transmisogynistic assumptions definitely made it easier for the loudest among them to demonize me. im not disputing that there is transmisogyny within the community, and i never have.
but i dont need to refer to all people who arent trans women as a monolith to talk about this. i dont need to make sweeping generalizations about the attitudes of trans men to talk about how i have been mistreated by a few specific ones. and i would prefer to avoid talking about people like that, because i know that doing so would make it easier for me to start thinking of them as my enemies.
the people who did those things to me were bullies, and assholes, and transmisogynists. their attitudes about trans women absolutely did influence their decisions and allowed them to justify their actions both to themselves and others. but ultimately, i am far more invested in solidarity between queer people than i am in dissecting the motivations and actions of a handful of assholes.
i am a trans woman, and my life has been pretty hellish in a wide variety of ways due to that fact. i know what im talking about when i talk about transmisogyny, and i have just as much a right to make my opinions about it known as you do.

just went through your whole account, easy enough task so thank you for that, and im very sorry that one of your past relationships was so cruel to you, you genuinely deserve so much better than that, you're too sweet to deserve that type of treatment, and please dont think that you could ever be inherently "evil" or "bad" and that you would deserve to be treated poorly for that 🩵
WOAH?? I am flattered. I haven’t had this sideblog up for very long so there’s not a lot of posts… I need 2 make a tagging system so it’s easier to go through but I am so lazy.
Also, thank you. I appreciate it. It’s just hard to accept that there wasn’t a reason for all of that. He was my best friend for years, and I absolutely adored him when he wasn’t just being awful towards me. It’s easier to think that I did something to warrant that treatment because I still love him…most of the time. It’s really confusing. Thinking about him makes me really angry sometimes and other times just sad. Objectively, though, he sucked. I miss him a lot despite that. I left him on my own terms for the first and last time almost a year ago now and it’s been hard sticking to my promise to myself to not run right back. I’m used to him leaving me and then trying to come back/having me beg him to come back so it’s weird when I’m the one leaving for good.
AAA I AM CUTTING MY RAMBLING SHORT THERE. I just realized how much I typed. I got way too much lore with this man. Once someone gets me started on him, I just can’t stop!! At least it makes for some interesting stories ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ
But seriously, I am grateful for you taking the time to send this ask in when you didn’t have to. Your words are very much heard and appreciated!! 🫶

Introducing: Miniboss Battle
so, while my progress on preparing bigger and wackier poll brackets continues to stall, I decided to shake the dust off this sideblog a little with something a little easier to set up and run. so, here's a character tournament -- but not just any character tournament, you'll notice!
no, this one goes out to the one-hit wonders, to the peeps who show up to chew the scenery for one chapter and then completely die. this one goes out to those enemies that aren't driving the bigger plot, but can make your life miserable (or hilarious) right here, right now. this one is for the minibosses.
here's how it's going to roll:
this will be a straightforward elimination bracket poll tournament
I've already compiled a list of minibosses that I would consider notable enough to participate in the bracket, but nonetheless, I will be taking submissions for a week first, before starting the tournament proper. I'll settle on a number of entrants based on how that all goes, but naturally, the minibosses that you all submit will be prioritized
feel free to submit whichever characters you fancy, but note that I'll be trying to apply some common sense as to what counts as a "miniboss" or not. like, for example, Kostas from Three Houses and Abyme from Engage would be elligible even though they appear in more than one chapter, but if anyone submits, say, Ashnard, I will kick the submission to the curb, and some ass
all polls will be week-long
here's the submission form:
submissions will be accepted until October 11th, after which point the showdown begins.
may the strongest at least get a snappy death line out of the weakest!

Hey not that I'm against this new, uh, posting method? with several asks in one post, but is there a reason behind it specifically? Is it just easier to copy-paste several asks into the same post under one tag than doing it all one by one? genuinely just curious.
We had 80+ posts in the inbox, so between that and some behind the scenes discussion about how to make running this blog sustainable for us going forward, we are trying some new things (including, in case anyone missed it, no longer posting replies to posts, since Tumblr now allows you to reply as a sideblog). -Secretmin

i'm sure someone's already made this post but for anyone seriously new (or returning) to tumblr here are some cool tips and tricks for having a decent experience
download xkit rewritten (i think it's on github, iirc it's the most up to date xkit that makes tumblr easier to use so you can avoid ads, use quick reblogs, etc)
make sure to go to your dashboard settings and toggle off the features you don't want to see. best part about tumblr is that if you don't follow people you won't see their posts. tumblr has tried to get around this by adding "in your orbit" and "for you" dashboards but lots of people don't use these.
TURN OFF TUMBLR LIVE. it is not safe to use, even less so than social media sites typically are. you'll have to hit the snooze button on it once a week which is annoying but if you don't like it send a message to support to let them know. your can and should utilize contacting support for bugs and errors and issues. be warned that it's hit and miss tho
if you want to use a custom theme on your desktop, you'll have to contact support and ask permission to use javascript. they'll provide instructions on what you need to do to get approved
use the filter option for content you don't want to see. xkit has an option to entirely hide filtered posts on the dash rather than just showing a post with the hidden tag on it
you don't HAVE to use tags but it's strongly recommended for organizational and practical use. if you make content like art or gifs it's the best way you're going to get other people who don't follow you to see it
REBLOG, NOT REPOST! whether it's art, gifsets, scans, or something else it is standard etiquette and common courtesy to REBLOG instead of REPOST. you will get more of the content you like if you reblog instead of steal things from other people. reblogging posts is a vital part of your tumblr ecosystem. you don't have to reblog every post you see but if you take a look at blogs that aren't transplants from twitter you'll know what i mean
there are almost always bot waves on this site and you can usually tell by their empty blog and/or default blog layout. i STRONGLY RECOMMEND personalizing your blog (at least choose your title and icon) and reblog some stuff so people don't think you're a bot and block you.
if you use the blaze feature you will be blocked and ignored at best and harassed in the replies at worst. give tumblr money at your own risk
tumblr's post limit is 250 per day but the queue allows for 1000 posts and drafts to my knowledge are unlimited. utilizing the drafts and queue features is a good way to help run your blog
you can make sideblogs but if staff finds out you're hoarding urls you will be shadowbanned.
most importantly: be normal in your interactions with others. block people who annoy you or you simply don't want to see. this isn't twitter and the only reason this site is remotely usable is because it isn't a copy of tiktok, twitter, or instagram
good luck

It wouldn't let me send the ask to the blog you posted from, but for the tag game: I'd LOVE to know more about Midlife Crisis Ranch!
For some reason, all my sideblogs ask boxes seem to have closed themselves recently and I didn't notice. Oops.
Anyway!
Midlife Crisis Ranch is the working title (and tbh, might stay as the real title) for a Brokeback Mountain canon divergence fic build on the idea of "what if the fight at the tarn--the famous 'I wish I knew how to quit you' scene--goes just differently enough that Ennis makes the choice there to try and make a life with Jack?"
Little bit of a better late than never kinda thing, y'know?
I've only written a couple scenes so far, one of which includes this exchange between Ennis and Alma:
He stepped back from the door and told the newly-greening grass, “I got a…a fishing trip planned.” Alma went still, said nothing for long enough that Ennis stopped bracing and reached up to finagle the pin out of the middle hinge.  “With Jack Twist?” Alma finally asked, voice barely more than an icy whisper.  Ennis shrugged in a way she had long since learned meant yes.  To her own surprise—and even more to his—she started to laugh, though there was something hollow to it. She shook her head, glanced around the empty yard, no neighbors out at this odd hour on a seasonably cold day. “He must really love you,” she bit out, ignoring the way it made Ennis bristle and round on her. “Some fifteen, sixteen years of putting up with how you—I didn’t have it in me. Y’know, from what I’ve heard, most cheaters go and run off and shack with the mistress at least for a little while, but you’ve never even done that, have you?” “Don’t you start.” “If I was on the other side a things I think I’d feel pretty shorted, watching you burn down your life and not even come running to the one who’ll still take you.” “You don’t know a damn thing,” Ennis snarled.  “No I guess I don’t,” Alma snapped back. “Maybe the distance makes things easier on him somehow.”  She paused, arms crossed over herself in a defensive sort or hug.  “Have you ever even told him you love him back?  Figure you must, if he’s worth all the trouble and everything you’ve lost to keep seeing him.’ He wheeled, smacked the pin back into the hinge, kicked the door so it swung open. “Fixed,” he spat and stomped past her toward the side gate.  “Thank you,” she spat after him.
Having had that conversation puts just enough of a bug in Ennis's brain that when Jack says "I wish I knew how to quit you," instead of responding with "why don't you" why don't you just let me be?" like he does in canon, Ennis responds with "I love you," starts a whole different kind of fight
They do end up ranched up together, hence the title, and it's just 40 year olds awkwardly hammering out interpersonal problems on all sides. I'm looking forward to writing more of it!

YOUR FAV IS SCHIZOSPEC↭!!
Hey folks!! I'm Sol (he/it), and imma be the one running this blog!! I noticed that the previous "your fav is psychotic" blogs seemed to be either inactive or deactivated, so I thought why not add another sideblog to the collection, you know? (EDIT: XANDER HE/HYM/IT IS ALSO HELPING WITH THE BLOG NOW)
The ask box is open, so feel free to request any characters! Format it something along the lines of...
"[Insert Character] from [Insert Media] is psychotic!!"
Or maybe, "psychotic and autistic," "a psychotic pwAVPD," "schizospec," or even "a schizo" if you really want. Feel free to go into details too like, "[Insert Character] from [Insert Media] is psychotic, and has [Insert Symptoms]!!" ..or you can just chat to me and share posts, that's chill!! Elaboration on submissions here...!
This place is safe for neurodivergents of all kinds, including disabled pplz btw!!
I'll say outright that pwPDs are welcome here, so if you think "narcissistic abuse" is a valid descriptor of any abuse then go away!! It's also not my place to question other people's experiences, so if you're the kind of person who goes around fake claiming others.. You're not welcome!! I don't care how "cringey" or "obviously fake" someone is, because in my experience that's usually just repackaged sanism!! Any plural/system/what have you is welcome, I'm not interested in syscourse so try not to bring it up. But anywayz, if you get on my nervez I'll justz block u k?

Here is my own version of the psychosis/schizospec flag, with the symbol, primary colours and moon motif pulled from actuallyschizophrenic, while otherwise being unabashedly inspired by charb's flag. The explanation/description is pretty long so I'll tuck it underneath the read more (along with other ids). Feel free to use thesez!! Just tag me if u do anythingz cool w/ them cause I wanna see!!
Tumblr media
The flag centers the symbol of the schizospec/psychotic community: an arrow pointing either way, left and right, (symbolizing the vastness, scope, and diversity of the community) with a wave in the middle (symbolising positive and negative symptoms). It's coloured purple, one of our representing colours, featuring a pink outline to help with the cohesion of the flag.
Behind it are two overlapping circles: one a light grey like silver (our other representing colour), and one a dark purple. White and black can often be seen as ethereal colours (embodying light or the abyss), so I knew I wanted to include them for their otherworldly properties, and so the overlapping is like the inbetweens or overlapping of what we perceive and experience if that makes sense. The overlapping circles also create a crescent moon, another symbol claimed by the community because psychotics are a bunch of "lunatics". It's outlined in grey to help with the cohesion of the flag.
The impression of a pink arrow's point continues to either edge of the flag (also outlined in grey), emphasising the centered symbol while also seperating the top and bottom's colours. Shapes come off the top and bottom of the pink, imitating a wave. The waves on the top half are a lighter purple with a purple background, the bottom a lighter red with a red background (outlined in pink). These are akin to lines on a typical flag.
To pull from charb's description of the colours:
Purple; the good side of schizospec disorders/being proud of being schizospec despite everything. Red; the reclaimation and/or the hatred of harmful tropes of us in media. Grey & Black; the unfortunate bad side of schizospec disorders and the strength it takes to deal with it. Pink; acceptance and the hope for better treatment from others.
And next to that is its geometric counterpart, which should be a BIT easier to reproduce.. But I think it's pretty obvious I made the flag to be more artistic than practical.
The symbol is the same, but the circles have been changed to verticle lines. About a quarter of the flag the silver line, a quarter the dark purple line, the overlapping colour a small slither. This block of lines is outlined by grey. To the left and right are horizontal lines, alternating between large and small lines. Top to bottom, starting with a large line: purple, (pink), light purple, (grey), pink, (grey), light red, (pink), red.
Tumblr media
Blog header is my version of the psychosis/schizospec flag. Pfp is Ame-Chan (Needy Streamer Overload), with the purple, light purple, pink, light red, and red stripes as a background.
First image of pinned is the purple, light purple, pink, light red, and red stripes.
Next image is purple, light purple stripes. Followed by the psychosis/schizospec flag, and its geometric counterpart. Next image is light red, red stripes.
Under the cut is the purple stripes again, followed by the red stripes. This text is followed by the first pinned image, repeated.
