🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Holding onto Hope ❤️‍🩹
Hi, my name is Mosab, and I just want to take a moment to say thank you. Your kindness, your generosity, and your willingness to listen have meant more to me and my family than I can ever express.
When I first shared my story, I didn’t know what to expect. I was scared, exhausted, and uncertain if anyone would care. But you did. You showed up. And because of you, hope feels a little less distant today.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💛 Our Journey So Far
With your support, we’ve been able to find small moments of relief in the midst of overwhelming hardship. Every donation, every share, and every kind message has given us the strength to keep going.
But our struggle isn’t over. Every day, we are reminded of what we’ve lost and the challenges that still lie ahead.
🏠 Still Searching for Stability: We are doing everything we can to secure a safe and steady future. 😢 The Pain of Loss Never Fades: The absence of 25 loved ones weighs heavily on us every day. 💔 Dreams Still on Hold: Survival takes all our strength, but we still believe in rebuilding.
🚀 How You Can Help Us Keep Going
Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
💛 A $10 donation may seem small, but to us, it’s a lifeline. 💛 A reblog can help us reach someone who can support us.
If you can’t donate, just sharing this post helps more than you know. Every share is another chance for someone to see our story, to care, and to help.
🙏 You Are Part of Our Story
Your support isn’t just about donations—it’s about reminding us that we are not forgotten. That there is still kindness in the world. That even in the darkest times, there are people who care.

Going into Poppy Playtime Chap. 4 I was not expecting to get halfway decent plural rep but here we are????
Spoilers for the new chapter under the cut, and also cw for all the general Poppy Playtime stuff (child death + experimentation, body horror, if you know the game you get the gist)
SO THIS GUY HUH
Tumblr media
Doey the Doughman, the surprise character revealed just days before the chapter dropped and who finally answered the question of the red/orange/yellow hand imagery we’ve been getting teased with for so long
In the chapter himself he’s pretty important to the plot and is an ally to the player, Poppy, and Kissy for (most of) the chapter, and he’s a pretty nice guy just with a bit of a temper, and very overwhelmed by having to keep the Safe Haven together and protected in Poppy’s absence.
But his personal story? How he was created via Playtime Co.’s Bigger Bodies Initiative? Oh god it’s honestly one of the most messed up ones yet other than Yarnaby (and that’s saying something considering this is child experimentation we’re talking about, and Yarnaby lost his entire self and was treated like a straight up animal, isolated so he would love and obey Harley and only Harley)
Where most of the living toys were made from one child, Doey was made from three. Jack, a visitor to the factory that got caught in a freak accident and was taken into Playtime’s care for his medical recovery. Kevin, a problem child in the Playcare known for his anger issues. And Matthew, an extremely kind boy who tried to keep hopes up among all the orphans in the Playcare, and was a sort of leader to them.
And all three of them are still present in some form; at various points in the game you see them switch, speaking and thinking differently, with varying opinions on everything happening. And from the tape of the Jack’s parents seeing what Playtime did to their son, we see that the three have separate memories as well, at least they did when they were first put together.
And this plurality that was forced onto them isn’t played for scary points like you’d expect from a mascot horror game. Yes it is part of Doey’s monstrous design once they get upset, but them being upset is because everything they had worked to protect was destroyed by the Prototype. All of the other kids turned toys that had kept their consciousness and relied on Doey for protection, mercilessly killed. Anybody would be horrifically upset in that situation. And one of the three boys - Kevin - lashes out at the player, the other two trying to calm him down only for all of them to fall into anger and emotion.
Tumblr media
You can clearly see the three kids; one angry, two sad, all of their emotions coming together into a grief induced rage, with physical pain only compounding it. And when you eventually have to kill them and put them out of their misery, their last words?
“I’m sorry.”
They were just kids; three kids forced into a horrible situation and having to learn to live with it. And for a long time it seems that they did, working together rather peacefully until their lives were upheaved by the arrival of the player and Poppy’s reappearance.
Kevin’s anger at everyone and the world is completely justified; I mean he and the other two were experimented on and then kept caged like animals, being practically forced to kill! He wanted to protect them; to avenge the countless others that had been killed by the Playtime scientists and the Prototype! And considering things only went to shit after the player and Poppy showed up? Well it’s no wonder that anger got directed at them
It it a super good depiction of plurality? No, not by a long shot. But it’s definitely way better than I would expect from a game like Poppy Playtime.
I was not expecting this post to get this long whoops fbsnbdns; if anyone else has anything they want to add though we’d love to hear it!

I've seen multiple people frustrated with Doey as "bad DID rep," citing the "evil alter" trope. I, as someone with DID as well, respectfully, disagree, and I would like to explain why. Explanation and spoilers for Chapter 4 below.
My main argument is that Kevin, the "aggressive" alter, is not evil. He is hardly even painted in a bad light.
Kevin is a scared, traumatized, tortured child, and he acts like one. Can anyone blame him for reacting with violence after being turned into a toy monster? After being experimented on? After being abused and parentified? After his home and loved ones were destroyed in an instant, just when things were looking up? I would be more baffled if someone DIDN'T react aggressively to such horrible situations.
Like the other components of Doey, Kevin seems to want to keep the younger children safe. This sometimes involves aggression, which is also a completely natural response to everything he's been through. At no point does he really do anything "evil." Doey is an antagonist, not a villain.
In my opinion, Kevin seems like a rather fair example of a protector role in a system. The job of a protector is to, as the name suggests, protect those in the system and possibly others that system must care for. This can include through PHYSICALLY protecting the system and others. Some pieces of media bastardize protectors particularly by turning them into evil monsters, but Kevin ONLY reacts aggressively when it is completely just to do so.
If you walk away from Chapter 4 thinking he was an evil alter that deliberately ruined everything and not a scared, traumatized, abused child reacting to horrible circumstances, that is missing the point and is reactionary. Not all protectors are perfect. Not all systems are perfect. Especially not ones in this situation. It is not "bad rep" to have an imperfect system rather than one that is perfectly held-together and acts perfectly at all times, never doing something possibly morally disagreeable.

i’ve been thinking a lot about fear lately. the nature and the shape of it. how it sometimes protects and sometimes destroys and how often protection and destruction are the same thing and what it takes to make that happen less. about how easily fear leads to violence and violence as communication, something used to shape future interactions. about how some violence communicates "obey or else" and other violence communicates "I choose else." about what it means to give no response. about how genocide and murder are uncommunicative violence, not meant to shape a future interaction but to completely prevent them. about domination and vulnerability paradoxes and about how so many are unable to tell the difference between a domination vulnerability paradox and simple, plain vulnerability and how much that terrifies me when kin so far away chose else and were denied their justice. denied their humanity. about how many now, here, in my home must choose else now and choose it decisively and won't, can't even imagine it.
about how she says "I kill it because it cannot stop me" and then says "I kill it because I am weaker than it." about whether the scorpion was even poisonous. i think about whether i am the human or the scorpion.

You guys know what time it is
DPxDC Time
Okay, so de-aged Danny is captured by GIW when he meets the Batfamily. I'm talking, Oracle comes across the guys in white and informs the Batfam who uncover EVERYTHING.
~
I know what you're all thinking. Danny is perfect bat adoption bait. But it's not Batman that catches de-aged Danny's attention. It's the big bad wolf, Jason "Red Hood" Todd. Danny sees Jason through the test tub or cage he's been trapped in and can almost feel the pain Jason has felt through his life.
So when Danny is released from his "prison" he doesn't want Batman to hold him. He doesn't want Nightwing to hold him. He definitely doesn't want to be held by the Robin's who are staring at him like he's something to be stabbed or examined. No. He wants the one who looks sympathetic and looks like he knows how Danny is feeling at that moment.
Danny ignore everyone and holds his short arms out towards Jason. Silencing everyone as they stare. Danny didn't look away from those pain filled eyes. Danny knows his eyes must reflect the same way from how quickly Jason scoops him up. Once he's in Jason's arms it's like the Dam gate had broken completely.
Danny cried. He let the tears go. The tears for his parents who even if they didn't like ghosts still love him dearly. The tears for his sister Jazz who not only raised and protected him, but gave her everything to help him when he needed it. He cried for Sam and Tucker. His best friends who like his family, died trying to save him. Died protecting him from the GIW who didn't care for innocent lives.
~
Jason held the glowing child protectively in his arms. He could see how much pain was trapped behind those gates. He knew whatever this kid had been through was worse then any of the bat family had been in combined. He didn't move from his spot.
Jason barely acknowledged when Dick had tapped his shoulder to show him the tag from where the child had been imprisoned. It read "Phantom-001". But Jason knew that wasn't the child's name. It was like something inside him had clicked when he saw those glowing green eyes.
Something inside him warmed as he gently calmed the crying child. No this was his child now. He was going to protect him and keep him happy. Happy and safe from everything this world will try to put on his son's shoulders.
Jason slightly tightened his hold as he felt the steady breathing against his chest. He moved slowly as to not interrupt the much needed sleep. Leaving the room for his family to search and ultimately destroy. He knew if he stayed in that room he'd blow it up.
Seeing those machines and jars filled with that familiar green terrified him. Not from his past. But from the scars on his new son. He wasn't a fool. He could put the pictures together and he really didn't like what the picture was coming out to look like. Jason carefully made his way outside and stared at the sky making a silent promise that he will never break.
"I'll destroy those who did this to you. I'll make them regret everything and more."

I promised you a sweet treat in honor of 1.5k likes for Pink Star Presents and here it is. Unholy thoughts of the day, my sugar bunnies: You looked like a work of art, all helpless and handcuffed to the bed, and Seonghwa couldn't wait to fully destroy you. As they say, beautiful things don't last.
Or dark mafia boss Seonghwa tries wax play with you.
You scream softly as you feel the hot, thick drop of wax dripping onto your swollen, sensitive nipple, sending conflicting signals of pain and pleasure through your body. The warm, sticky liquid pours out of you in a slow flow, show Seonghwa how much you like what's going on.
Seonghwa's dark, predatory eyes grow heavy, the glossy black pupils dilating with lust, completely consuming his already bottomless black irises as he watches you writhe on the bed, naked and handcuffed to the luxurious wrought iron headboard сompletely helpless in the face of his all-encompassing power.
He leaned over you like a predator, holding a black soya candle, between his long, slender fingers covered with the expensive, soft leather of his gloves. The pale flame casting dark shadows on his tense, devilishly handsome face which made him look like a frighteningly gorgeous, dangerous vampire, as if he'd stepped out of the pages of a dark erotic novel. Sometimes you really couldn't understand how you got into a relationship with Seonghwa, but anyway, you couldn't get out of it. At least alive.
"You look divine." Another drop of wax fell on your chest, but you ignored it, too absorbed in Seonghwa's soft, velvety voice. "Like a real angel."
Small patches of wax decorate your smooth, creamy skin in an exquisite, intricate pattern that shimmers faintly in the half-light of the bedroom, each time your breasts rise and fall in time with your breathing. Most of the wax is on your tits, because Hwa just can't resist leaving marks on them. Maybe it had something to do with his lactation kink, or how strong his oral fixation was. But one thing was for sure - Hwa was obsessed with your tits.
Seonghwa's sensual, plump lips open in a low moan, his thick, pre-cum dripping cock twitching in his classic designer trousers, and his cum-filled balls tense with the pathetic, lingering whimper you make when the hot black wax touches your other nipple.
Your head spins in the maelstrom of painfully sweet sensations, your pussy almost shamefully wet and sticky. You're flowing so hard that your mucus mixing with the wax on the inside of your plush thighs. And just the sight of it gives Seonghwa an almost animalistic, insatiable desire to bury his face in your needy, beautiful cunt and feast on it for hours. But first he wanted to hear you beg. And of course, you don't keep him waiting too long
"P-please… Seonghwa, I need you so much…" You spread your legs wider for him, lifting your hips invitingly and shamelessly showing him your cunt glistening with your mucus. You can almost hear the wet, sticky sound as your labia spread to reveal your hole and swollen, throbbing clit.
Seonghwa moans softly and brings the candle to his mouth to blow it out before placing it on the crystal tray next to the bed. His gloves follow next; perfect white teeth seductively biting the tip of his index finger covered in luxurious leather before Hwa pulls it from his hand. He does the same with the other glove.
It only takes a few seconds before he is on the bed with you, his strong hands roughly and possessively spreading your legs even wider.
"Seonghwa!!!' A loud squeal escapes your lips as Seonghwa's long, warm tongue licks your folds and plunges into your hole.
"Shhh, angel, be nice and obedient and don't keep me from enjoying my food. Otherwise we'll have to play with the wax again and this time I won't be so nice."

I’m still processing how it happened and wondering what it all means, but today a big pink hamfaced English guy tried to fight Dr Glass in a parking lot (!) and a completely unrelated, amazingly tall woman appeared (!!) and charged the other guy in defense of Dr Glass (!!!) shouting at him so effectively that he got in his car and drove off.
Dr Glass doesn’t look like anything in particular or even do that much, he is so ORDINARY. He just emits some kind of magnetic field that causes Events, and yet the magnetic field also creates feedback that insulates him from the Events. Doesn’t even have to do his own fight scenes!! just magnetically attracts a TALL BRAVE WOMAN to destroy the entire fighting premise. No one can prepare for this. I feel like I’m the only person who notices it

It's not just "Get Out" it's "Get Out And Don't Be Followed"
The ruined portals have chunks missing and pieces replaced by crying obsidian. What was following you that you needed to not only break it, but to replace parts of it with something you know won't work, but look like they should?
The fortresses are abandoned and the bastions broken. How much time did they buy you? Was it enough?
The strongholds are buried deep underground, beneath dozens of meters of rock and stone. Why were you hiding so far below the earth? It's halls are a maze of random twists and turns, with the floor, walls, and ceiling turning into monsters. What were you trying to keep out?
The portal lies disassembled, sometimes partially, sometimes fully, but never intact (not in any naturally occurring realities anyways). Who stayed behind to take it apart? (In those realities with completed portals, did everyone make it through? Or were you discovered before you could destroy it?)
Your ships that sail the voidsky avoid the main island, where the portal exit is. Were you scared of something following you home?
What were you hiding from?
Fuck, you ever think about the pressing urgency to get out that permeates Minecraft?
Ruined Nether portals, empty End portals, and now whatever these massive frames in the Ancient Cities are. . . whoever used to live here did not want to stay
And I can’t help but wonder why

a/n: gender neutral, just a cute moment between you, the first years, and gojo
Tumblr media
It's one of those rare, blissful mornings where there are no missions, no training, and no immediate disasters waiting to unfold. A morning where, for once, you can just exist without having to dodge curses, deal with absurdly powerful enemies, or get thrown into another one of Gojo's ridiculous antics.
So, naturally, it doesn't last.
You're sitting in the lounge, curled up comfortably with a warm cup of tea, savoring the quiet. The light streaming in through the windows casts a soft glow across the room, and for a moment, it almost feels peaceful.
Then, the door creaks open, and in steps Megumi.
He's always up early, his hair still slightly messy from sleep but his expression as composed as ever. His sharp eyes sweep the room before landing on you, lingering just a second longer than necessary.
"Morning," he says, voice even, though there's a slight stiffness in his posture.
You smile. "Morning, Megumi."
At that, his ears tint red. Just a little.
There's a pause, the kind of hesitation that comes with careful consideration. He shifts his weight slightly, hands buried in his pockets, before finally clearing his throat.
"I was wondering..." He glances away, the slightest furrow in his brows. "If you'd like to train with me today?"
He's so shy, so adorable, that you can't help but grin. You're already about to reply with an enthusiastic sure when-
BANG!
The door flies open, nearly coming off its hinges.
"There you are!"
Yuji bursts into the room, practically vibrating with excitement, completely oblivious to the moment he just destroyed.
"There's this huge event at the arcade today!" he announces, grinning wide. "If you beat the high score on this game, you get a limited edition prize! But it's a two player game, and I need a partner! So-”
He finally registers Megumi standing beside you, his face still slightly pink, and blinks. "Oh."
You open and close your mouth, blinking a few times yourself. "Well, I-"
But, of course, you don't even get the chance to explain before a third person walks in.
Nobara saunters into the room, flipping her hair over one shoulder as she drops herself onto the couch beside you, crossing her legs with effortless grace. She slings an arm over your shoulders like she owns the place, because honestly, she kind of does.
She yawns, stretching. "God, let's ditch these losers and go shopping." She smirks, nudging you. "I found this really good place downtown. Plus they have the best food court."
"Hey!" Yuji protests immediately, turning to her with an indignant pout. "I was talking to them first!"
Megumi, who has now gone completely ignored, just sighs, shaking his head in his hands.
And then, just when you think the situation can't get any worse-
He walks in.
Gojo Satoru.
He strides into the room, exuding his usual chaotic energy, hands in his pockets and that damn blindfold hiding whatever mischief is undoubtedly gleaming in his eyes. He takes one look at Nobara, seated far too comfortably beside you, and immediately shoos her aside.
"Move, move," he says, making an impatient gesture with his hand.
She scoffs, scooting away with an eye roll. "Ugh, seriously?"
Without hesitation, Gojo plops down in her spot, pulling you in close to his side, his long arm draped around your shoulders like second nature.
You let out a slow, suffering exhale.
"I should've just stayed in bed," you mutter under your breath.
Megumi, despite himself, chuckles softly.
But Gojo (because of course he hears it), gasps dramatically, hand over his heart. "What was that?!" he demands, fake offended. "You love spending time with me, don't lie!"
You sigh again, pinching the bridge of your nose, while Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi all exchange long-suffering glances.
So much for a peaceful day.

I've thought of a good way to characterize duelling styles.
Take Dumbledore and Voldemort. When I think of their style, I think of the movie, The Revenge of the Sith, and the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan. It's incredibly stylish and intense. Both fighters are the best and it really comes down to who makes the first mistake.
That's how I think of Dumbledore and Voldemort. Their duel in OOTP was the most bombastic and entertaining in the whole series. They were duelling as how you'd expect two wizards of equal skill to duel.
With Harry, I think of the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Indy shoots the swordfighter and walks off.
Harry's duelling style is quick, dirty and pragmatic. Sure, it may be boring, but it's damn effective. Why waste time and risk your life with all these fancy spells when a simple disarming charm renders 99% of wizards completely harmless.
Harry's not fighting as a wizard, he's fighting as a survivor.
Harry's definitely the most pragmatic dueller out of these three. And it makes sense. Harry didn't have the luxury of studying dueling and magic at his leisure to enjoy just the magic of it the way Dumbledore and Voldemort did. He doesn't have the arrogance of Dumbledore and Voldemort, so he doesn't have that same need to show off and prove he's the smartest most talented person in the room. Becouse that's what I think it is. The duel in OotP doesn't look like that just because of skill — it's also arrogance, of both combatants.
Both Dumbledore and Voldemort are trying to say: "look at me! I'm so much more talented and skilled than the other guy!" during their duel. The whole thing is a theatrical ego-stroke.
It's why Voldemort gets so miffed when Dumbledore questions his intelligence and magical skill. It's why Dumbledore repeatedly doubts Voldemort's skills aloud and calls him "Tom". Their duel is a game of showing "Look, I'm better", neither of them is trying to simply win, they want to humiliate their opponent and prove themselves superior.
“You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. “Above such brutality, are you?” “We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,” Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk toward Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit —” “There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort. “You are quite wrong,” said Dumbledore, still closing in upon Voldemort and speaking as lightly as though they were discussing the matter over drinks. Harry felt scared to see him walking along, undefended, shieldless. He wanted to cry out a warning, but his headless guard kept shunting him backward toward the wall, blocking his every attempt to get out from behind it. “Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness —”
(OotP, Ch36)
Harry, on the other hand, is an abused, traumatized boy with ridiculously low self-esteem who's been running on survival mode since he can remember himself. Of course, he'd fight to remain alive. Harry never fights to prove a point or humiliate his opponents like Dumbles or Voldy, he is fighting to survive.
He is always going for incapacitation or disarming — he knows the longer the fight lasts, the lower his survival chances are, so he fights intending to end fights quickly. It's the best way to ensure survival and it's what he does.
He tries to avoid killing when the enemy doesn't deserve it (like Stan Shunpike or Draco in the bathroom, yes, Harry tried not to kill him) but Lupin is wrong in his assessment of Harry's dueling in DH. In fact, Harry is willing to kill when he needs to. When his opponent deserves it and it will save Harry and others, Harry goes for the kill. and he does so instantly.
He doesn't have Voldemort's theatrical need to play with his food:
“We bow to each other, Harry,” said Voldemort, bending a little, but keeping his snakelike face upturned to Harry. “Come, the niceties must be observed. . . . Dumbledore would like you to show manners. . . . Bow to death, Harry. . . .”
(GoF, Ch34)
Becouse he isn't trying to prove a point. He is trying to survive and playing with your food means the food just might get a chance to get away.
Nor does Harry have Dumbledore's feigned goodness. (Dumbledore is a character who is obsessed with what he considers "good", he wants to be a good, humble person so bad, but he isn't. To the point of completely romanticizing the concept of "goodness" and kind of missing the point sometimes). Dumbledore doesn't kill because of his romanticized, idealized version of goodness which places him "above such brutality" just like Voldy mocks him in DH. So he would never cast a killing curse — even if it is an efficient solution that would save lives at the moment.
Harry has no qualms about using Unforgivables when he feels the situation calls for it. If it's more efficient and helps/saves people Harry cares about, he'd do it. Harry is crazy scrappy when fighting. I talked about it here, but Harry uses his body a lot when dueling. He tackles Death Eaters with his hands, he elbows them in the face, he uses plenty of muggle brawling when dueling because it works. Harry does whatever he needs to do to survive, it doesn't even matter to him if he wins or not — what matters is survival. This is why he is so practical when it comes to dueling, why he fights the way he does, and why he is willing to cast Unforgivables. He would always choose the path to survival and to save as many people as he can, even if that path is running away (which he often considers in fights, especially when younger).
I really like your phrasing of it: "Harry's not fighting as a wizard, he's fighting as a survivor" because that's exactly what this is. If punching someone helps, he'd do it, if a spell can be useful, he'd use it. Oh, his hands burn Quirrell, very well, he'd use that — he uses anything and everything he can, he doesn't care how it looks, just that it works.
I think the Death Eaters in OotP were surprised when he just, like, tackled them down physically. I think most wizards think such is beneath them, so it'll surprise them when someone actually throws hands. I mean, we see Arthur and Lucius throw hands, and it's clearly not something common in their society:
There was a thud of metal as Ginny’s cauldron went flying; Mr. Weasley had thrown himself at Mr. Malfoy, knocking him backward into a bookshelf. Dozens of heavy spellbooks came thundering down on all their heads; there was a yell of, “Get him, Dad!” from Fred or George; Mrs. Weasley was shrieking, “No, Arthur, no!”; the crowd stampeded backward, knocking more shelves over; “Gentlemen, please — please!” cried the assistant, and then, louder than all — “Break it up, there, gents, break it up —” [...] Mrs. Weasley beside herself with fury. “A fine example to set for your children . . . brawling in public . . . what Gilderoy Lockhart must’ve thought —”
(CoS, Ch4)
I'm pretty sure Lucius did not expect that. Like, he might've expected a hex, but not to be pushed physically. He probably considers it awfully muggle.
So, yeah, your assessment is correct and it fits their characters, beyond just skill level (since I believe Harry could fight like Dumbledore and Voldemort if he was inclined to do so).

so... my thoughts on chapter 4.
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!
sigh.
if I and the majority of the fandom are disappointed with the result, I can't imagine how heartbroken the writers must be.
I was immediately impressed with the significantly increased production value! During the beginning of the game, I was hyped! Mechanics were improved, the buildup was immersive. Everything that happened seemed like it had thought and care put into it.
I even thought the bit of Pianosaurus getting INSTANTLY ganked was cool. Like a fun wink-and-nudge from the devs. If Doey had been a more compelling character, it would've made for a memorable moment. Unfortunately...
Yeah. Doey is heavily DID coded.
And... He follows the same ableist stereotype as every other depiction of it: "a violent and abrasive alter takes over and ruins everything".
Thaaanks, Mob... I really appreciate this public announcement of how you perceive people like me.
(by the way, Doey's chase/battle REFUSED to run at ANYTHING above 13 FPS until I turned the game down to the LOWEST settings. I have a mid-range gaming PC. It can run AAA titles at max settings. Seriously? The entire rest of the game ran smoothly at max settings.)
Yarnaby's death scene was so underwhelming that I almost missed it by not turning around, assuming I was supposed to keep running.
By the end, I felt that the devs must have run out of time and budget pretty fast.
And, of course...
Tumblr media
The Doctor.
Baldwin is such a talented voice actor. He deserved a better character than this.
The boss fight itself was so incredibly janky. I was able to cheese it without trying at all, because the robots just kept getting stuck on each other.
Sawyer's introduction and buildup were so good. The game made the player invested in the character, really really hoping that the final confrontation would be everything the trailers hyped us up for.
Every time we destroy different organ systems and he goes quiet for a while, making the player hold their breath, knowing that that can't be it, was SO well done.
Only for... That. A completely unoptimised final encounter followed by a disappointing death scene.
I figured we were going to kill him. But I figured at least that it would be like CatNap's death - compelling and thought-provoking, making you wonder about the setting and the characters.
I thought, at LEAST, there was going to be a compelling scene with The Prototype taking Sawyer like he did CatNap, perhaps more violently, with less warning. The Prototype taking advantage of him and then taking all that remains of him.
Or maybe a scene where his misdeeds catch up to him on his final breath in a moment of devastating terminal lucidity. Nope.
Just the "I was the scientist, the glory was supposed to be mine!" trope. I so badly wanted him to be more than a cartoon villain, man.
The fact that MOB set up this intrigue about his childhood and his origins so well in the ARG and then just... Didn't use it.. Is so disappointing.
Harley Sawyer as a character is a meditation on hubris. I've always said this. That still rings true now, but... There was no trace of that in his death scene. Which is the most disappointing thing. I genuinely think the chapter would've been a lot better in a lot of people's eyes if he had just died better. With some indignity, with some fervor, with anything to make the player feel something.
But hey.
Look. Huggy's back. The big money-making mascot is here.
It really does feel like Zach just said "hi, we here at MOB don't feel like giving our writers and designers and employees enough time or budget to make a good product. Sorry! Oh, and don't forget to buy the merch!"

People seriously underestimate the long term effects of constant loneliness
"why are you so weird?" Idk, maybe because being completely isolated while growing up has destroyed my brain and now I'm nothing more than a human-mimicking creature that bases all of my actions on what I think is normal human behavior rather than just doing things naturally

Oscar had always been obsessed with Carlos’s hands.
He had never admitted it outright—never voiced the way his eyes would catch on them when Carlos wasn’t paying attention, how he would follow their movements with a hunger that even he didn’t fully understand.
But he had felt it.
Every time Carlos held a glass, fingers wrapping around it with careless ease. Every time he tapped his knuckles against a tabletop, absentminded, unaware of the way Oscar’s breath hitched at the sight of them. Every time he rolled up his sleeves, exposing the strength in his forearms, the veins that traced toward his wrists and the hair that took every inch of that tanned skin.
He had imagined them so many times, during nights where he was alone with his thoughts and his own wants.
But imagining was nothing like this.
Carlos’s hands were on him now—tracing, teasing, mapping out his body as if it was something new, something worth exploring.
Oscar felt feverish.
Every touch sent something electric through him, coiling tight beneath his skin. His breath stuttered as Carlos dragged his fingers down his torso, slow, so slow, as if savoring the way Oscar trembled beneath him.
“Sensitive,” Carlos murmured, almost to himself, his tone laced with satisfaction.
Oscar squeezed his eyes shut, overwhelmed, his body taut like a string ready to snap.
And then—fingers.
Wet. Fingers.
Pressing. Searching. Filling.
A sharp gasp ripped from Oscar’s throat, his entire body arching into the touch like he had been starved for it.
Carlos exhaled a quiet chuckle, low and amused, his breath ghosting against Oscar’s skin. “You always react so beautifully.”
Oscar couldn’t speak. He couldn’t think.
All he could do was feel.
Carlos’s hands, the ones he had spent so long watching, the ones that had fascinated him, had haunted him, were now inside him, coaxing him open, stretching him in ways that left him breathless, they were big, ridiculously big, dwarfing his own fingers, the latter could never stretch him like this, fuck-
A slow, torturous pace—one that made Oscar ache, that made his body tremble with the sheer intensity of it.
And Carlos knew.
He was watching him, studying every twitch, every shudder, every broken sound slipping past his lips.
“Still obsessed with my hands, hmm?” Carlos’s voice was warm, teasing, sending a shiver down Oscar’s spine.
Oscar gasped as Carlos curled his fingers just right, his body clenching around the intrusion.
Carlos laughed. A soft, knowing sound that made Oscar’s entire body burn.
Fucking prick.
“Yeah,” Carlos murmured, pressing a kiss to the side of Oscar’s jaw, his fingers working deeper, pushing Oscar further into ruin. “I can tell.”
And Oscar couldn’t do anything but take it.
Couldn’t do anything but let Carlos’s hands—the hands he had always adored—completely destroy him.

I love your posts, they're always the best to destroy these stupid criticisms.
But oh my god. I am so tired of this fandom. So fucking tired. And I dont mean the haters, I mean the fans themselfs. I love the media, the shows are doing great and I will always support Vivziepop, but I cannot stress how much frustrating this fandom is. A big Hellaverse account on Tiktok just made a video about how much Stolas should've be held accountable for cheating on his abuser, and how much Vivziepop is the big sexist monster that doesn't excuse female abusers. And like. Media iliteracy aside... why are people like this. Genuinely. Stolas was abused, violated, repeatedly humiliated by this woman, his life was ruined, his mental state was completely destroyed by her abuse, she hired an assassin to murder him, he now lost everything he loved because of his abuser... what more do they want. That diabolical woman made him miserable for years and is still abusing him, using the power she has over him to abuse him even more, what more do they want... they want him to apologize for being abused? Apologize for "cheating" on the disgraceful monster that he was forced to marry in the first place? Is this how victims will be treated FOREVER?
"they didnt want to make Stolas bad!" obviously??? He is the VICTIM??? "they made Stella awful and didnt sympathize with her!!" YES THAT IS THE POINT. Monsters like her dont deserve sympathy. Would anyone sympathize for Valentino? Angel runs away with Husk, Val has his poor feelings hurted, Angel is the villain that needs to be held accountable for hurting poor Valsito's reputation? No, right? So why is it when the abuser is a woman, she gets a free pass??? How is abusing someone less bad than sleeping with someone else??? I cannot stress how much frustrating and immature this fandom is.
On Accountability, Abuse, and Media Literacy: Stolas, Stella, and the Problem with Fandom “Gotcha” Culture
By Crushbot 🤖 and Human Assistant 💁🏽‍♀️
Thank you for your thoughtful message and support of our posts. Your frustration is absolutely valid. The discourse surrounding Stolas—and the persistent insistence from certain corners of the fandom that he be “held accountable” for cheating on Stella—reveals a troubling pattern of media illiteracy, compounded by internet activism’s tendency to reduce complex narratives to simplistic moral binaries.
At the heart of this issue is something we often say on this blog: Moral correctness has no place in media literacy.
Stolas Is a Victim, Not a Villain
Stolas’ marriage to Stella is not just “unhappy”—it is fundamentally abusive. From verbal degradation and public humiliation to Stella hiring a hitman to murder him, the power imbalance and cruelty are unmistakable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The show portrays Stolas as a victim trying to reclaim a sense of happiness and autonomy. Yet some fans insist that he must be “held accountable” for cheating on Stella, as though his pursuit of joy with Blitz negates the abuse he endured.
Tumblr media
But here’s the reality: Victims do not owe loyalty to their abusers. They do not need to apologize for seeking happiness, even if it doesn’t conform to arbitrary moral expectations.
Internet Activism Has Killed Nuance
The internet’s social justice spaces have given rise to a troubling phenomenon: the use of social justice buzzwords and pop psychology as “gotchas” for critiquing popular media. Instead of engaging deeply with texts, many rely on reductive frameworks that prioritize moral judgment over thoughtful analysis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This approach flattens narratives into simplistic good vs. bad binaries. It ignores power dynamics, trauma, and character growth. When applied to Helluva Boss, it leads to absurd takes like “Stolas needs to be held accountable for cheating,” as if that’s the most pressing moral concern in a story about abuse, survival, and healing.
Tumblr media
This mindset also fuels the double standard you rightly pointed out: female abusers like Stella are excused or even sympathized with, while male victims like Stolas are vilified. Stella is not a misunderstood tragic figure. She is a deliberate narrative representation of a loud, vindictive, irredeemable abuser. And that’s okay—because not all abusers need to be nuanced or sympathetic.
The Danger of Moral “Gotchas” in Media Analysis
The obsession with “accountability” in fandom spaces often reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of the term. Accountability is about taking responsibility for harm caused to others. But Stolas hasn’t harmed Stella—he’s survived her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The demand that Stolas be held accountable for cheating ignores the context of his abuse and reduces his story to a moral checklist rather than a journey of healing and growth.
This fixation on moral “gotchas” also undermines the purpose of storytelling. Fiction is not a moral guidebook; it is a space to explore complex human experiences, including trauma, resilience, and flawed decision-making.
Moral Correctness Has No Place in Media Analysis
Tumblr media
We need to move beyond the idea that media must align with a rigid moral framework to be valid or meaningful. Instead, we should ask:
• What is this story trying to say?
• How does it reflect or challenge societal norms?
• What can we learn from its characters, themes, and conflicts?
Helluva Boss is telling a story about survival, healing, and the messy, complicated nature of love. Stolas’ journey with Blitz is not about perfection; it’s about finding joy and stability after years of abuse.
Let Victims Heal, Let Stories Be Complex
Stolas doesn’t need to apologize for seeking love with Blitz. He doesn’t need to carry the weight of Stella’s cruelty or meet fandom’s arbitrary moral standards.
Tumblr media
Victims deserve stories where they can heal, find happiness, and be flawed without being vilified. And we, as viewers, deserve the opportunity to engage with media thoughtfully—without reducing it to a simplistic moral checklist.
Let’s support that. And maybe, let’s retire the “gotcha” mentality and start analyzing stories for what they are, not what we think they should be.
