i got a lot of thoughts about loveless by alice oseman and if this post seems very one sided well thats just how it read to me. my opinion isnt the end-all and i value how everyone interpreted and was affected by this book. this isnt a closed topic lets talk about it

took a while to actually explain that ace and aro are two separate identities and still not that well. it makes aro seem like a subset of ace which is entirely false. its cool there was an aroallo character involved but still

the book title 'loveless' is a real term and identity and the entirety of the book kinda shits on it by enforcing the ideal that its still okay to be aspec cause platonic love can be experienced and any type of love is required or at least better than "not feeling anything and being alone forever"

it was weird for her friends to forgive her over gestures that had nothing to do with apologizing before georgia actually apologized and explained but that may just be more of a personal thing that i didnt like. likewise the story being about platonic love it kinda sucks her deepest connection is with her roommate and not the people shes known for years and wronged

kinda sex negative. i mean rooney says she doesnt dislike casual sex but then that whole thing becomes the reason she hates herself and a reason to cope with being "unloveable" and its kinda lame. you can tell that story without making it seem like casual sex is just a means of devaluing yourself. and you can be sex repulsed and still not do that. it just feels unfair to aroallo people especially who are told they are monsters for enjoying and only wanting casual sex when this book is supposed to be about aromanticism too

basically particular identities' stories shouldnt come at the expense of others and other ways of life. its great and important to write different experiences because no one is gonna relate to them all but no one has to replace romantic love with ANY type of love to feel good about themselves and be human. loveless and aplatonic people shouldnt have to read something that uses rhetoric against their identities within a book about aspec people

things i like about loveless

i didnt relate to it personally but the experiences felt very genuine. internalized aphobia, being hounded by aphobic comments, finding it hard to portray love even in a fictional or artistic sense, etc.

I appreciate the references to race and intersectionality that come with being queer even if they were minimal. so few times is it actually acknowledged that there is privilege when it comes to being understood, coming out, being accepted, etc. the references to that were nice to see because too often intersectionality being brought up is brushed off and blatantly ignored or people pretend like they understand

it was written by someone who is aroace even if there are some things that can be less isolating within the aspec community with the language being used. someone being open about their identities and how they choose to define them in the mainstream world is how we get more peoples voices in there

it has helped people discover their own identity though id still recommend further research on the actual identities being named and ones not named. these stories are the first introduction of aspec identities in mainstream and that hopefully means itll start to expand to other identities within that community that have not yet had representation

this should be the start of developing more rep. the first takes are not gonna represent everyone and its a good thing it exists to tell a few peoples story. but that doesnt mean it should be free from any criticism because thats how we make them continuously better. i hope to see an aroallo character soon. i want the term loveless to be properly used in media and expressed for what it is. i want to stop pretending like ace is the umbrella term for all aspec identities. i want amatonormativity explained as the sociological term it is that harms all life not just aromantic and polyamorous people. i want a polyam aspec character and polyam characters in general. i want disabled and ethnic aspec characters where the intersectionality is just as important to the narrative. i want a whole lot more and to stop prentending like any of that should be unreasonable

I love the skunk that frequents my window bc the smell will be so strong, so intense, and it'll last for like 10+ minutes and if Im asleep itll get so strong itll wake me up but the minute a word comes out of my mouth or I get up to look outside suddenly the smell is totally gone. Pretty sure I freak him out a little every night. Pretty confident he knows I exist. Keep in mind my window is ground level, not above or below so he can easily peek into my window if he desires. nah, I totally get where you're coming from, but it's not necessarily something wrong with the kids- I'm a software tutor, and it's been getting.... bad, at least in the usa. it's not their fault, but society has become so tech-saturated that lot of schools literally have stopped teaching kids basic computer knowledge anymore, and assume they'll have picked it up intuitively, and so do their parents. but it's not intuitive, it's a skill like any other. and a lot of the kids are post-zoom era, which you'd think would make them more tech-literate, but no one was beside them looking at their computers to teach them, and they wound up with at least a year's gap of educational neglect in general as well. it's gotten... weird. the kids get by, cause a lot of tech is just 'push a button' now, and they soak up the new information like the little freak sponges they are, but quite often no one has sat down with them and explained jack shit before ....that being said, the amount of grown adults I have to explain that 'no, if you don't save the file it won't exist when you close the file' on a daily basis to is... so high. soooo high. people are unbelievably stupid

but then again, I can only speak to one form of educational system, so truly, who the fuck am I lmao

idk like, ive worked with kids and based on my experience theyre just kind of fucking stupid i say this w all the love in my heart but u take the smartest kid ive ever worked with n ask them a basic fuckin question and theyll just go huh bc thats how kids r i think this is less "the youth of today has smth wrong with them" and more the usual thing where a generation gets 9lder and starts teaching and interacting w kids and realize kids r kinda fucking stupid. we have a huge scare abt how the latest generation cant do this or that every ten years and its fine every time. kids get older and they learn shit.even if u got a teenager thats kinda fucking stupid they can still learn. also just like u said a lotta fucking adults r also tech illiterate as shit so i think this is more demographic based and not age based. kids whose parents r good w computers or who have access to some sort of education abt computers will learn that shit. also some places have more of a culture of fostering this shit like here piracy counts as basic tech literacy i think and that migjt not be the case in other places

im still confused as to how the whole adore x hybe thing came about and honestly props to both illit and newjeans for not overreacting the way the adults in charge of their respective groups have mishandled them. in a way the two groups handled their current situation better than those in charge and it boggles my mind how such " adults" get put in charge of literal minors.

it kinda gives off um p3d0 vibes a lot of the time. ik kpop is rampant for appealling to naive girls and boys but I still think that groups can still coexist without too much competition. as you csn see with for instance skz and ateez they both coexist maturely without much competition between the groups despite doing vastly different performances. it just gives sleazy wannabe wealthy but really they are making bigger deals out of nothing vibes too. bc we know kpop puts more unhealthy emphasis on the imagery and less on the music itself. I dont know if itll be kpops downfall but as of late with everything that seems to be sturring about in the media towards idols and those in charge of said idols, ehh i dont really get good vibes from it these days. I very much think eventually its a trainwreck waiting to happen. maybe its bit off more than it can chew, got too much going on at once and cant really separate their greediness for general interest in what these groups want to achieve.

illit, newjeans, le sserafim, and all othe groups mentioned in the whoel debacle have really been mature about everything for sure. i think companies/"the adults" get very caught up in the money and therefore have little foresight of how these things impact idols. they don't care what happens to who as long as they still make a profit, you know?

i'd also point out competition always exists: even amongst groups we think don't show it (and sometimes it's pushed by fans instead of companies). as someone who's a staytiny, ateez and skz literally competed in kingdom and although members kept it friendly and strictly to the show - fans hyped everything up and made it seem real and even kept it going afterwards. i think this is happening with illit/newjeans/le sserafim also. all those girls like one another; they probs message each other, do challenges, and all types of other things. it's mainly the general public and their companies that create this idea of them competing fiercely.

i don't know if karma is the right word, but i believe everything done in the dark will be brought to light - even if it seeminly takes forever to happen, and pluto in aqaurius especially makes the statement true. pluto in aquarius is all about creating havoc and clearing out traditional channels of life that have operated under circumstances against society's greater purpose or ideals. so, if you count that as karma then i'd say yes.

i think people go too far with the pr stunt/distrction tactic takes. none of this is helpful for hybe, min heejin, new jeans, illit, le sserafim, or anyone else involved. everyone looks bad, and it makes audiences not want to engage with anybody mentioned. as for kpop scandals being made public to cover up government scandals? also unlikely. kpop fans don't pay attention to the korean government like that, and those living in korea don't care about kpop as much as foreigners do; and even if they do people need to logically think: when celebrities in your home country get into controversies does that stop you from caring about what your government is doing? likely no, so that belief is also unfounded imo.

last thing i'll say is that pluto in aquarius is supposed to incintivize the collective to want less artists/celebrities who are far removed from them. people will want to listen to music that mimics their own experience and will want artists who are more humble and home grown over record-label made. even the kpop industry is finding this out with trying to champion groups and members that are self-producing as opposed to how it was in earlier generations. authenticity is key with pluto in aquarius.

what happens if we open classified

oh its just papers in there but some of its kinda important. I cant draw at the very second unfortunately cause i left my ipad at home but i got some visuals sorta

So classified is like. a subspecies of book. books are a real common type of object in this universe. theyre special cause whats in their pages is like really really important to who they are. not ALL of it, or even most of it, but a lot of it. Books have a biological brain, but its main purpose isnt so much cognition, its just there for sensory and motor relays. Most of what would be considered the thinking brain is actually in the pages.

Basically all books have three main vital sections: you got a Genetic region, a Thinking region, and a Long Term region. The genetic is a basically unreadable, but it contains a backup of their DNA. This is nice cause it makes books less prone to mutations. Its pretty much nonsense to objects in the same way that binary is nonsense to humans: its a language, you technically could decode it all by hand, but that's a fucking hassle so no one does that. (Image provided, its not necessarily written in just actgatagctagctgta, it can be even more nonsensical than that). The other two regions are pretty much self explanatory. Thoughts get written in the thinking region, and if its determined to be important enough to keep forever, itll get shuffled into long term. These regions are usually a bit easier to read.

Damage to any of these sections isnt necessarily detrimental to a books mind or body. The genetic region can be restored from copying the sequence of the actual cells, though that leads it to be prone to possible mutations. damage to the thinking region isnt particularly terrible either, their brain will be kinda confused for a long time, but eventually itll recognize hey this parts fucked and adjust where thoughts are recorded accordingly. the long term memory region can be a bit more worrisome cause damage to those regions can result in lost memories. If entire pages are lost, they can be grafted back in and thus restore the lost memories though its a very risky medical process.

So classifieds not a book, theyre a folder, the main difference being that none of their pages are bound in there and can just fucking fall out. The nice thing is that means theyre easy to put back in, but also if you just lost something forever that'd be bad still.

so classifieds folder is like this where its got some pockets to keep shit from falling out and thats where the important shit is stored. everything else that they have in there is just kinda haphazardly stuffed between the pockets and isnt vital to their existence, mostly stuff like to do lists, conspiracy theory papers, what have you. so usually when classified is seen losing papers, its just stuff like that. they CAN still lose the important stuff if they arent careful, obviously, but as said before, that wouldnt necessarily mean theyd just stop functioning altogether

overthinking and underthinking, stopping myself from making something happen or a character do something because theres this pull in my chest telling me its wrong. even just standard selfishness or saying something without the express intent of making sure it wont hurt someones feelings. i also start sentences with verbs djaldjdjaf

makes sense if characters are speaking multiple languages i guess. depends on pov and how limited it is to the pov character. like if the pov character doesnt speak spanish it'd be better to write "and they said something in spanish they didnt understand" instead of writing the spanish out assuming the audience doesnt know it either

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

Leo can’t remember anything that has happened to him before the age of twelve. All anyone knows is that he was in an accident that should have killed him, then he returned with an indestructible body and a void where his personality should be. He cannot comprehend good or evil, does not understand the concept known as ‘choice’, and cannot envision an existence where Res isn’t his Master. He imprinted onto Res the moment he met the other man and pushed himself into Res’ life without considering whether or not Res might want it. His first Master did not pass, he simply changed how he looked, and what he looks like now is Res. Period. He has nothing to offer, nothing to say, no emotions and no heart to give. All he knows are the facts, and the facts tell him that there is no Leo without Res. So he’ll make sure that there’s no Res without Leo. Res has always been very into science, but he isn’t too fond of how there are a bit too many restrictions on the experiments he can perform, and he’s even less fond of how they die whenever he tries some of his more ‘exciting’ stuff. Thankfully he has Leo, his little obedient puppy who will obey his every word and donate his body for research. Of course, he’s never asked him whether he was okay with that, but signing a consent form is so old school. He believes that we should be doers, not dreamers, and he’s always wanted to see what the insides of Leo’s body looked like. And all the resistance it’s putting up just makes it all the more exciting. Leo spells unending excitement, and that’s all the reason Res needs to make sure no one else has him. Res is life, but he is not Leo’s purpose for living, because Leo has not questioned whether or not life has a purpose. He doesn’t need to. Res is Leo’s Master, and Leo’s Master is the very concept of life itself. Without his Master, the earth does not spin, and the sun does not shine. Why would it be anything else? Leo is not a person, he is Res’ dream. The dream of a creature that would do nothing but obey his every word, and the dream of an anomaly that he could endlessly explore without an expiration date. A thing that Res will never get bored of. To Res, Leo is just an adorable lab rat who happens to be the only one in the world who can fulfill his dreams. i previously didn't give this much thought until it got explicitly pointed out to me via some post but. there really are just. guys in my brain. like 99% of my entire day is occupied by constant daydreaming-like-thing(?)(not putting a label on that) of instead being these rotating group of people (id say there's.......3) where i hardly ever get to actually be myself ever. every time i actually happen to think of something then its never just a me thing i always immediately get blasted by very normal visions of what they always think about that. but i guess thats fine since they always have the same or very similiar opinions to me. im not exaggerating when i said that almost every minute of my life is just focused on those daydreams im being very serious they are always thinking but never about anything i personally experience since i guess thats my problem apparently. they got their own ongoing lives currently, one of them's got a girlfriend that i'm jealous of, one got trauma that even makes me a bit uneasy when something reminds me of that, one of them looks exactly like me but is so not me down to the behavior and voice but i honestly forgot what my voice sounds who makes me miss people i have never met but they are close with. me, i simply never have anything to add most of the time and it requires something else important enough to snap me back into reality. i don't even know if me never being able to concentrate on anything or just do things or even think ever might be because of possible adhd or because i'm nearly nonstop preoccupied with living their lives unable to ever really stop for any period of time that actually matters. honestly, me also being a yomi fictionkin (and possible various other nonhuman shit) is so very similiar to all of those things too, via.... reasons but its still actually feeling like me. if something like that exists in a simple form. i don't know what even counts as me if i'm simply not there. guess i'm now some kinda flesh vessel for multiple infinitely cooler people that's busy with other stuff and problems they got but still just won't leave me alone. but tbh im fine with them just because ill be so empty without their constant interruptions and these weirdly rich inner worlds like itll just be radio silence

can’t believe it’s canon that the games are just based off of the characters ‘real life’ adventures

guys this legit explains weird narrative discrepancies in each game, where different POVs don’t line up. they just interviewed different characters who told biased perspectives of events.

i now have a hc that sonic does have an apartment in station square but he basically never sleeps there, maybe once a month

he instead uses it as a storage shed for all of the merch people make of him

bc whats he gonna do, turn down a really cool mural the city made in his honor? no. hes gonna put that shit up in his living room. his friends call him egotistical but jokes on them, he looks cool as hell.

he also has

a freezer full of sonic popsicles. the fucked up ones. u know. (ty @sketchjii for reminding me these exist)

a fridge full of sports drinks with his face on the label. some officially sponsored, some knockoffs with 'socin the hengehog', who is a slightly lighter blue hedgehog. he thinks its hilarious

boxes upon boxes of frozen chili dogs, from every brand deal he's ever done who promised him a lifetime supply and are starting to sweat from making good on it

hoodies for humans that imitate his look (he loves the ones with fake ears and fake gloves. they look fucking hilarious on top of his own ears and gloves)

every variation of sonic plushie ever made. especially the deformed looking ones. the ugly ones are usually from knuckles. ("got you this. its like looking in a mirror right?" "hilarious.")

if he ever dies young itll be a really fun museum exhibit. he gives one (1) apartment tour to some photographer who's way out of his depth but it's honestly kinda funny how nonchalant sonic is about all the merch of himself he collects

i'm a bit confused on obsidian, you said he is from an egg but was bottle fed?

ah yeah i see how that would be confusing

the elder scrolls does not actually follow traditional real world evolution. things just kinda happen. mortals were 'made' and then reproduce bc reproduction is the only form of divine creation they have left trapped on nirn or whatever the explanation is. traits that can be passed down exist but complex genetics and evolution as we know it dont rly work on the same rules bc the world is frankly not that old and is magic based (and in universe is all made up but we wont get into the godhead or chim here)

also the dragons canonically dont fuck. but i do what i want. michael kirkbride nor todd howard nor anyone else who is/used to be on the writing or directing teams can stop me. so how they would theoretically reproduce is pure speculation. canon lore is that all dragons are made at the beginning of time but uhhhh since they can kill and absorb each other i thought maybe some form of creation on their part might be beneficial.

i typically characterize the dragons as a combination of cats and birds (and maybe a few other animals but mostly those). their scales can move and puff up like feathers, but they can also roar and make noises like big cats or even purr. i think this is also fun bc alkosh is described as a very big cat and dragon, so. dragons are like cats. to combine this further i gave them weird magic eggs and milk like mammals and technically egg laying mammals did and still do exist, its just evolutionary a placenta was more popular. so. anyways this is how i typically do dragon babies in most of my skyrim stuff so itll be relevant to senna too

obsidian got a bottle with a makeshift formula in it of goats milk and egg yolks bc thats what was recommended to her for runt puppies and it was good enough for obsidian. after being hatched for a few months and then slowly transitioned to solid food after a year.
