Stumbling Upon A Castle in the Woods
Fem!Vampire x Fem!Reader
Author's Note: I've never really written x reader or y/n content, so forgive me if it's not that good lol. I mostly just have been scrolling the vampire x reader tag and have not been finding a ton lesbian content, so I figured, why not write my own! I dunno, I ended up just writing what I personally would hope to find on my dash, so I hope it's at least to your liking! I tried to make our vampire character here as description-less as possible so you can imagine whoever you want in her place, but if this ends up being popular enough and depending on how y'all want it, I might make her into an oc, give her a name and an appearance. I hope you enjoy!
Also quick note: Y/n isn't being hypnotized or anything, she's just horny.
You were so, so tired. Hours of hiking through the woods, looking for a way out of your cursed little town, that never let anyone leave. You were so tired of being trapped there, unable to escape. So, one night, you packed your things and left. Or, tried to. It was noon when you entered the woods, and it’s nightfall, now, and you can’t seem to make heads or tails of any direction. The trees seem to shift and change positions when you aren’t looking.
You actually cry with relief when you find a castle, dark and imposing. Shelter. You don’t stop to question why there’s a dark castle in the middle of the woods that keeps you from leaving your cursed town, you’re just relieved to find somewhere to stay for the night.
You don’t even knock, you throw the doors open and shut them behind you, a warm entrance greeting you. You sigh in relief, before remembering that you’ve just let yourself into a house without permission.
“Hello?” You call out. The entrance is wide and tall, and the place smells of cobwebs and dust. “I erm, I’m so sorry to intrude– I just need a place to stay for the night…”
No response. You aren't too surprised, this house is giant. You start to wander around, looking for any signs of life. Candles are lit, it’s not like the place is abandoned. It’s eerie, actually, how the place seems to house people but none can be found.
Eventually though, the exhaustion of wandering the woods for several hours starts to catch up with you. Surely whoever owns this place won’t mind if you crash in one of their guest rooms? There are so many, lining the halls, and the beds seem to call to you, they look softer than any bed you’ve ever seen.
Caving to your exhaustion, you fall into the canopy bed of one of the many guest bedrooms, finding it to be even more comfortable than you’d expected. You pass out almost immediately, oblivious to the laughter that echoes through the dark.
Hours later, you wake up from a sleep that might be the best you’ve ever received in your life. Even as your eyes flutter open, sleep tugs you back down into the mattress, promising sweet dreams and comfort and rest. You sigh contentedly, pulling the thick duvet closer. Since when has your bed felt this heavenly?
It hasn’t. Memories of the night before flood back to you, and you realize that this isn’t your bed. It’s not even the bed you had collapsed into the night before, it’s bigger, and the sheets are different. You try to sit up, but are forced back down by a pair of slender, strong hands.
“Hush, go back to sleep. You looked like you were having a wonderful dream.”
Your eyes snap open, wide awake now. A beautiful woman is holding you down, laying beside you. For a moment you feel frozen, your brain is confused and you have to take a moment to just stare. She’s downright stunning, and she’s looking at you like you’re the most beautiful thing in the world. Half of you wants to do as she says.
Wait, no. Your senses come back to you and you realize that you’re a trespasser being held down on a bed. That’s, weird. You realize that this is not normal, not good.
You struggle out of her grip, sitting up and panickedly scooting away. You get the idea that you were only able to get out of her hands because she let you, by the way she laughs.
“I-I– stay away–” you start to say, but you don’t really know what to say afterwards.
She just smiles and tilts her head at you, propped up by her forearms.
“Stay away?” She asks, voice like honey, slow and sweet. You could drown in the sound of it, you find yourself wishing for her to speak more. “Miss, you’re the one who broke into my home unannounced and used my guest rooms without my permission.” She scoots closer, so that she’s practically on top of you. “Do you know who I am, silly? Do you know what you’ve signed yourself up for? It’s been so long since I’ve had visitors, you know. I always have to go to your town to eat, but here you are, waltzing right into my home like you own the place.” As she speaks her fingers walk up your shoulder, pulling at the hem of the dress you had fallen asleep in like she wants to pull it off your shoulder. You flush red when she does so, gay panic freezing your brain in place.
What is happening.
You try to make sense of her words through your confused stupor, stuttering out incoherent syllables. She acts as though you should know her, that she’s important. As the cogs click into place you realize exactly who this is.
The town has had attack after attack as of recent, all women, claiming to have been attacked by a beautiful lady who drained them of their blood until they had passed out. A vampire has been loose for years, although she’s become more active as of recent. Looking at the woman in front of you, you see that she matches the descriptions down to a T.
You feel so stupid. How could you have wandered into the den of a monster like this?
She laughs at the face you’re making, pulling away and sitting among the pillows on the bed.
“Oh dear, you’re so easily flustered,” she says, and you just flush darker. “You’re quite adorable, darling.”
“What are you going to do to me?” You ask, voice trembling. Your brain is at war right now, the logical side says you need to run away, now. Unfortunately, the touch starved side says otherwise.
When she smiles, you can’t help but notice how sharp her canines are. She scoots closer again, and for a moment you’re afraid that she’s going to bite you right then and there. Instead, she pulls you into her arms and cards her fingers through your hair, catching you off guard.
“If I end up liking you, I’ll make you mine, permanently,” she says, lifting your chin with a single finger. “Anything you desire will be yours.”
Your brain short circuits.
“But,” she continues, face becoming serious, “If you aren’t a good girl, I can’t promise to treat you as more than just a living food storage. Disobedience will earn you nothing but a cold shoulder.”
You don’t like the sound of that very much. The way she’s holding you, the way she was smiling at you before– you want it–
You snap yourself out of your stupor. You should be wanting to escape right now. Right? That’s why you left the town, to escape it. Although, being here, is it really the same as the village? You weren’t treated the best there, and the living quality wasn’t particularly good. But here? You’re practically swimming in blankets and fluff, and a beautiful monster is giving you attention as though you’re a princess. It isn’t what you had in mind, but isn’t it escape nonetheless?
“Other than that,” the vampire says, “I mostly want to drink from you. And if you want it, I want to kiss you, and play with you, and cuddle you every single morning before we go to bed…” She trails off, before giving you a smile. “Of course, those last few are only for if you want… Can’t go making you too uncomfortable, hm?”
I want it, your brain screams, and you immediately force yourself to be logical about this. “I-I, erm, I don’t even know your name,” you squeak out instead. “How can you know you’ll like me?”
The vampire laughs, fingers running through your hair again. “I’m sure I’ll know soon enough,” she says. She then tells you her name. You tell her yours in return, hesitating at first.
“Well then, my dear,” she says, giving you a boop on the nose. “Be a good girl for me?”
You pause for a moment, studying her face, assessing what it is that you want. Thinking about your town you left, and where you might be if you hadn’t ended up here. Somewhere where you’ll struggle, surely. Much wouldn’t really change, as you turn your options over in your head. The next town over won’t be any different. You won’t find anything waiting for you there. And you feel so comfortable here, and she looks so beautiful, in her red nightgown, looking at you expectantly. She’s stunning. You wonder how she looks at you like you’re the most wonderful person in the world. You feel undeserving.
That doesn’t stop you from giving in, melting into her touch. You want this. You want to make a home here.
Before you know it, you’re leaning in and your lips are on hers, the faint taste of blood dancing along your tongue as she laughs into you and pulls you closer.

Excerpt under the cut
She stayed for two drinks but cut out after that. Hands in the pockets of her jacket, Mandy walked back to the docks where she made her home. She sat on the edge of the canal, cross-legged, and lit a cigarette. She had just enough money to buy herself some food, and a drink once in a while, and still save up for a room at a boarding house. Sometimes she splurged and bought smoking papers and tobacco. She had struggled to roll her own at first, but Charlie had taken pity on her. Every time she rolled one up, she thought of Amara, how she had laughed when Mandy tried to roll a spliff.
She missed Amara like she would miss her right hand. She felt like everything was backward without her. She had met her in 2007’s Birmingham, but they had been friends for a long time before that. They had been part of a pen pal program when she was in sixth grade, and they got on so well, that they just kept up the correspondence, eventually moving to email, and then adding each other on Facebook. When Amara had seen that Mandy was in Europe, she asked if she rated a visit. They’d kissed that first night she was there and moved in together two weeks later. Amara didn’t really get the U-haul lesbian jokes Mandy had made, but they had made it work. They fought a lot, but they were young and poor in a city that didn’t care about young poor people. Mandy had still been happy enough.
She stubbed out her cigarette and leaned back on her hands despite the grit she felt under her palms and fingertips. It was starting to get dark. She watched the sunlight fade behind the ever-present clouds and layer of soot and ash.
She saw movement out of the corner of her eye and looked to her left. There was someone there. A man. A man in uniform, if she wasn’t mistaken. He had something shiny in his hand and threw it into the Cut. He watched it sink then threw another. He stood there for a moment and lit his own cigarette before turning around and walking away.
Once he was at a safe distance, Mandy got up and walked over to where she thought the man had been standing. The light was dwindling quickly, but she got on her hands and knees and peered into the dark water. Glinting on the edge, she thought she saw two medals.
It wasn’t really any of her business, she reminded herself. She stood up and made her way to the stable before it was too dark to see. She lit one of the glass lanterns they kept on the wall and made her way to the bedroll she kept in the last stall. As she got ready for bed, she wondered about the kind of man who didn’t smile when he saw his family and who threw his Army medals away.

this heavy humanness
Summary: Spencer leaves the oven on overnight, and Derek - whose pent-up emotions get the best of him - loses it, exposing secrets neither of them expected to be spilled, for two very different reasons. They get there in the end.
or; Spencer's suffered far too much abuse in his life and Derek knew about none of it. He shouldn't have found out like this.
Tags: est. rel., past abuse, arguing & making up, hurt/comfort, miscommunication, angst with a happy ending, hurt spencer TW: implied/referenced - child abuse, abuse & csa. trauma response that could be perceived as dissociation. misplaced frustration at neurodivergence. nothing graphic but message me for more info if needed.
Pairing: Derek Morgan x Spencer Reid
Word Count: 3.9k
Masterlist // Read on AO3 // Bad Things Happen Bingo
This fills the "Domestic Violence" square of my Bad Things Happen Bingo. It's a heavy one folks so please heed the tags, but fear not, as always we have a happy ending ahead of us! <3 Title by Rainer Maria Rilke.
Spencer knows it’s ridiculous. Derek will not hurt him: this much he knows for certain. Derek is safe, he is home, he is his person. Derek would die before laying a hand on him.
This objective knowledge does not stop the fear from building in his chest, fizzling through his veins until his whole body is alight with it, simmering under the surface of his cold skin as Derek shouts, his face contorted in anger. Spencer might know that Derek won’t hurt him, but that doesn’t mean he can forget what’s happened in the past when he’s put that same expression on crueller people’s faces.
“How could you be so irresponsible, Spencer?”
He doesn’t know. The sinking feeling of failure, of disappointing someone he loves so much settles deep in his stomach as he watches Derek pace up and down the living room while he stays firmly planted on the sofa, pressed as far into the corner as he can.
He didn’t mean to leave the oven on overnight. Again. It’s just that sometimes he gets so lost in his head, in the studies he reads just before bed that getting ready for bed happens on auto-pilot, and small things like turning the oven off slip through the cracks. Derek’s never got this angry over it before, but that’s probably because he’s never said “yes” when Derek’s sleepily asked him if he remembered to turn it off, not when he actually didn’t.
He answered on auto-pilot. He didn’t mean to lie, but that doesn’t seem to matter that much to Derek as he wears down the living room carpet with his pacing, visibly seething. He tracks him with his eyes. He can’t afford to not see the blow coming.
The blow isn’t coming, he tries to tell himself. It’s not all that convincing when Derek stops mid-pace, turning to look at him dead in the eye.
“We could’ve died, Spencer! Does that mean nothing to you?”
Spencer doesn’t reply. He wants to, he really does, but the words are stuck in his throat, choked by fear and confusion and emotion and regret, God why didn’t I turn off the oven, I should’ve been better, it’s all my fault—
“Do you seriously not have anything to say?”
Spencer stares. He has so much to say. All of it is trapped in his throat, tangled in a mess of please don’t leave me and please god don’t hit me.
“You know, I can’t deal with this right now,” Derek mutters, throwing his hands up in the air, “this is unbelievable.” Spencer watches as he shrugs a coat over his shoulders, pulls on his shoes, pauses only to grab his wallet and keys, and walks out the door without looking back.
The door slams behind him and Spencer jumps at the loud noise, jolting out of his fear-ridden stupor, wincing as he’s forced out of his head and thrust back into reality. It’s only ten past ten in the morning; a nice, sunny Saturday in late Spring, and maybe in a different universe, Spencer and Derek are packing a wicker basket with a picnic, heading off to their favourite park to feed each other strawberries and enjoy jam-filled sandwiches.
In this universe, though, Spencer drags his heavy bones to the bathroom, and peels off his clothes. He feels weighed down, tied to some point of gravity far below his feet as he avoids the mirror at all costs and lets his pajamas lay where they fall instead of gathering them into a ball and throwing them into the hamper like he usually does. He turns the water on and steps under the spray, allowing himself to revel in the warm rivulets of water caressing his cold skin.
Shampoo bottles stand untouched in the caddy to his left. He’s not there to get clean, he’s there to forget and to think all at the same time. Slowly, he sinks to the floor, leaning against the wall as the water cascades down his front, but not before he turns the heat up. It’s a small comfort: the water just on the right side of too hot running down his face and his torso and his legs, pooling at his feet momentarily before sliding down the drain, never to be seen by him again.
Today shouldn’t have started like this, and it’s a hard pill to swallow that if he hadn’t left the oven on, it wouldn’t have. Derek would have smiled when Spencer stepped into the kitchen, pulled him into his arms and kissed him gently before making them pancakes while Spencer sat on the counter-top and told him everything running through his head. Derek would listen, enthralled, whether to the sound of Spencer’s voice or the words he’s saying, and he wouldn’t shut him up, not even when they sat down to eat.
They’d finally get ready for the day late in the morning, they’d decide what they would do that day, and they’d make a point to steal as many kisses as they could; making up for the affection lost during long cases.
Spencer knows this because it’s happened so many times before. They may have only been dating for just over six months, but they already live together, having fallen hard and fast; Emily teases them for it, calls them her favourite lesbian couple, and they don’t care because they’re in love.
Despite that, though, Spencer still hasn’t told Derek.
There are nights he lies awake pondering how unfair that is. He’s held Derek as he sobbed over memories of Buford, as he spilled every awful detail of the abuse he endured; he’s comforted him after he’d tried and failed to bottom, falling into a flashback every time, no matter how much he wanted to try it.
But Spencer stays silent. He doesn’t tell him about his dad beating him, or his mom getting confused off her meds and smacking him, shoving him, even punching him that one time. He doesn’t tell him about Matthew, his first real boyfriend, trapping him in an abusive relationship that took him months to get the courage to leave. About how when a third person hurt him, he began to wonder whether it really was his fault. Whether that was the only kind of love Spencer Reid deserved.
He stays silent now, staring at the shower wall. The fear has left him now the threat has too, and a cold type of numbness replaces it, and even once the water runs cold, he doesn’t leave. He traces the same four tiles with his eyes, drawing the same pattern with his gaze over and over again as his thoughts turn to an endless cycle of he’ll leave me, he’ll stay, he’ll hit me, he won’t, until he’s not really sure what he believes.
Derek is a good man, but Spencer knows how he can be. He messes up, he forgets things, he doesn’t read situations right, he doesn’t behave the way people think he should, he doesn’t think like a neuro-typical person does. And a good man can only put up with that for so long.
The proof is in the pudding, after all. Derek has always been understanding of things like this in the past. He’s given him a hug and told him not to worry about it, that mistakes happen, and no one can be expected to remember small things like this all the time. But this morning, he was furious. Spencer’s not sure he’s ever seen him so angry in all his years of knowing him, and it was directed at him. All because of an oven left on.
Eventually, a sound from the upstairs apartment drags him from his head again, and he’s suddenly aware of the cold water, of the way his body is trembling and his fingers are pruning. He pulls himself out of the shower, turning the water off, but he stands in the middle of the bathroom, aimlessly, for a long time. By the time he finally has the sense to wrap a towel around his body, he’s basically dripped dry. His hair is soaking wet and the dripping water is freezing, but he doesn’t have the energy to find a towel for his head, too, so he leaves it.
He walks towards the bedroom and climbs into bed, pulling the fluffy duvet over his damp skin and laying his wet hair on the pillow. It feels awful, being wet and damp under the dry bedding, but he doesn’t have the energy to move, so he stays there, towel still wrapped around his legs, hair still soaking the pillow, and he stares at the wall.
He doesn’t know what time it is, and he doesn’t know when Derek will come back home. If he ever will.
⭐️
Derek slams the door behind him as he storms out of the apartment, rage consuming his every move, his every thought. The force of it rattles the door frame, echoing down the empty corridor, but he can’t find it in him to care as he marches towards the elevator. The buttons are pressed with perhaps a little more aggression than socially acceptable, but the woman already on board takes one look at his face and has the sense to stay quiet.
He gets in his car and steps on the gas, the squeal of his tyres against the floor of the garage as he speeds out satisfying him more than it probably should. His jaw is locked and tight as he drives through the streets of DC, his thoughts going a million miles an hour, quieted only when he turns the radio up loud, a blasting soundtrack to his ferocious getaway.
Adrenaline pumps through his veins as he speeds down the highway, heading out of the city towards Baltimore. He doesn’t have a destination in mind: he’s just driving straight. Straight away from the apartment. Away from Spencer.
It’s after more than an hour of driving that his jaw finally loosens and the anger that had simmered in his blood so fiercely fades into reluctant rationality. He’s somewhere in the middle of Baltimore, and the traffic — the tangled road system he actually has to focus on — drags him from the absent headspace the highway had allowed him to slip into.
“Fuck,” he mutters, and turns off the road he’s on, onto a quieter one. As soon as he’s able to pull over, he does, and he hits the steering wheel angrily. “Fuck!” He leans forward, pulling off his sunglasses and burying his head in his hands. It’s not the same kind of anger he’d felt earlier, no. This time it’s directed purely at himself, fuelled by dismal regret.
Before he can stop it, his brain replays the fight with Spencer over and over, the wall he’d put up to block it out crumbling down as images of his boyfriend flood his mind. He hadn’t registered it in the moment, but looking back, God. There was something on Spencer’s face, something so broken, so scared and he feels nauseous at the realisation that he put that there.
Over something as fucking stupid as an oven.
Truthfully, he wasn’t really angry at Spencer. Waking up to see the oven left on again, even after Spencer promised he’d turned it off, was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.
He’d fought with both his mom and Penelope yesterday, and he went to bed feeling like an utter failure, made even worse when Spencer had declined to join him, deciding instead to keep reading the series of papers he’d started earlier that evening. He woke up in a foul mood, and not even the sight of his peacefully sleeping boyfriend could make him feel better.
It’s his own fault. He should have communicated with Spencer: he should’ve told him about letting his mom down and saying the worst thing he possibly could have in his conversation with Penelope, but he didn’t. He silently stewed, and felt irrationally angry that Spencer wasn’t reading his mind. He knows for an absolute fact that if he’d asked Spencer to join him in bed last night, he would’ve dropped his studies immediately, and cuddled him until he felt better.
But he didn’t. And then he’d screamed at Spencer, in a way he never has before, over something he simply forgot to do. Derek swore to himself that he would never shout at or put Spencer down for his neurodivergent traits. Not in the way he’s seen so many people — regrettably, far too many of them on their own team — do before.
He’s always been understanding in the past, kissed Spencer’s hair and promised that it wasn’t a big deal, and he has always meant it. Because as dramatic as he’d been this morning, leaving the oven on wasn’t really the end of the world. He remembers ranting about the electricity bill, about how they were going to afford the house they were going to buy if he kept this up, about lying to him — even though he knew that was clearly an auto-pilot thing — about how dangerous it was. It’s a fan oven. They were never really in any danger.
What a god-awful way to let off the steam he’d built up and chosen not to let go.
As if he’s not already feeling shitty enough, though, his mind won’t stop circling back to the fear on Spencer’s face. The way he shouted back, but instead crammed himself into the corner of the sofa, never taking his eyes off him as he paced angrily back and forth.
He feels sick.
He digs his phone from the pocket in his sweatpants. He’s still in the clothes he sleepily pulled on in the dark this morning, and he hadn’t thought to bring his phone out with him, but luckily he’d picked it up off the kitchen counter that morning.
He clicks on Spencer’s name, listens to it ringing out as he desperately begs him to pick up. “Come on, baby, please,” he whispers, ignoring the tears burning behind his eyes. “Pick up, please.” He tries three more times before throwing it angrily on the seat next to him, allowing one more second of feeling the blind panic and the fury at himself before forcing himself to calm down.
Reaching over to his phone with one hand to turn the ringer up, he turns the ignition on and pulls back onto the road, heading back towards DC.
The traffic infuriates him, cursing as it takes thirty minutes to get back on the highway, but finally he’s back on the open road. It takes everything in him not to speed past the other cars, knowing that getting pulled over would only slow him down in the long run. He doesn’t turn the radio on. He just replays the fight again and again, each time remembering something new: something he said or something Spencer did.
He doesn’t wipe the tears away as they fall, lets them slide uncomfortably down his neck, under his collar, lets them drip into his lap, lets his nose run. It’s the only punishment he can afford himself right now.
Finally, finally, he pulls into their apartment building’s garage, finding their spot and parking roughly, abandoning the car as quickly as possible in favour of sprinting towards the elevator. He curses at the slow moving carriage, but it eventually spits him out on his floor, and he’s walking down the very corridor he stormed down just a few hours prior.
He pushes open the door to their apartment, closing it behind him softly. Suddenly, the nausea swimming in his gut isn’t just borne from regret, now fuelled by nerves and dreaded anticipation.
“Spence?” he calls softly.
He doesn’t know what to expect: he doesn’t know whether Spencer will be sad or angry, whether he’ll be screaming or crying. The kitchen and living room are empty, and the bathroom door is wide open, so he ventures into their bedroom.
Whatever he was expecting, it isn’t this.
Spencer’s tucked up in bed, duvet pulled up to his neck, facing away from the door. He doesn’t move so Derek thinks he might be sleeping, but when he circles the bed to check, he finds his eyes wide open, staring vacantly at a fixed point on the wall. They don’t flicker or blink or move when he steps into his field of vision, and Derek’s heart sinks, panic beginning to grip his chest.
“Spencer? Baby?”
When he still doesn’t move, Derek crawls onto the bed, and the movement or the sound or something must finally catch his attention, because all of a sudden his eyes are widening — in shock, surprise, fear, Derek doesn’t know — and he’s shifting under the covers.
“You’re back,” he says, and it’s so uneasy that Derek wants to cry.
“Yeah, baby, I’m back,” he says gently, “and I’m so sorry about earlier, I—”
He cuts himself off, because when he reaches to tangle his fingers in Spencer’s damp hair, he flinches. His hand freezes, but his stomach twists, because this is the confirmation he was both expecting and dreading. This is the confirmation of everything he prayed he had wrong, everything he wished he’d misinterpreted the whole drive home.
“Spence,” he whispers brokenly, withdrawing his hand, “I would never— never do… I’d never hurt you, God, I—”
A choked sob cuts him off this time, and another follows when he sees a tear sliding down Spencer’s face. A previously blank, emotionless canvas, his face is now full of sadness, tinged with the fear and guilt Derek hates himself for even suggesting was warranted in the first place.
“Derek,” he says softly, and his voice is so mangled with emotions he couldn’t even begin to decipher, it breaks his heart a little. He doesn’t say anything more though, eyes sliding shut instead as tears continue to stream down his face.
“What do you need, baby?” he asks, because it’s the only thing he can think to say. “Anything, I— anything you need, you can have, Spence, I’d give you the world, you know that.”
Spencer’s quiet for a long time, and Derek sits there on the bed anxiously awaiting a response while trying to summon all the patience he doesn’t have as he stares at Spencer’s crying face.
“A hug,” he decides eventually, and Derek almost collapses in relief because, God, he can do that.
He crosses the small space between them, and carefully folds Spencer into a hug, sighing in relief as he melts into Derek’s side, placing his head on his chest and cuddling into him. Their legs tangle together and Derek holds him as gently and as closely as he can, carding his fingers through Spencer’s damp curls while his other hand rests on his waist, his thumb caressing the bare skin there.
He’s still in his towel, he thinks sadly. He didn’t have the energy to properly dry himself before crawling into bed. As if Derek could possibly feel shittier.
They lay like that quietly for a while before Spencer finally speaks. Derek wishes he hadn’t. The words “I’m sorry”, uttered so brokenly, so miserably, have no business leaving Spencer’s mouth.
“Baby, you have nothing to apologise for,” he says fiercely. “This is all on me. I’m sorry. Sorrier than I’ve ever been, Spencer, because this is completely my fault. I wasn’t actually angry at you, that’s the first thing you need to know, and I know that makes what I did so shitty, because you hadn’t even done anything wrong, but I was so pent up and frustrated with myself and I didn’t communicate that with you and— fuck, I’m doing such a bad job of explaining, I just. I need you to know, Spencer, that I’m not angry, okay? And I’m so sorry for losing it like I did, that never should have happened.”
He pauses and takes a breath in, burying his face in Spencer’s hair as he holds him even tighter, trying to keep his grip as gentle as possible.
“I never told you,” Spencer whispers after a couple beats pass.
Derek’s heart seizes tightly and he swallows. Prepares himself. “Never told me what, sweetheart?”
“My dad, he… he wasn’t a good man and he… you know, he hurt me a lot. And then my mom, when he left and she stopped taking her meds completely, she’d get so confused,” Spencer admits, voice so quiet as he murmurs into Derek’s chest that he has to strain to hear him. “She didn’t mean to, but she’d… And then my last boyfriend, he—”
He cuts himself off as a heaving sob that seems to come out of nowhere strangles his words and it’s all Derek can do to hold him tightly as Spencer cries, whispering every reassurance he can think of through his own tears. It shouldn’t be like this, he thinks. I shouldn’t know this just because of an argument we had; just because I lost control. Spencer should’ve been able to tell me on his own terms, in his own time.
He tries to cry as silently as possible, but it’s not easy when the grief of knowing the pain Spencer’s suffered in his life is weighing heavy on his chest, and the acidic taste of guilt abounds.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers into Spencer’s hair. “I’m so sorry, baby.” He’s sorry for so many things he’s not sure he could list them all out, neatly and coherently, if he tried.
Spencer fists his hands in the soft cotton of Derek’s t-shirt. “I’m sorry I never told you.”
Derek balks at the guilt in his tone, as if he actually believes he has anything to apologise for. “Baby, you could’ve waited until we were old and grey to tell me and I wouldn’t be mad, okay? Trauma like this… it comes out in it’s own way in it’s own time. I’m not sure how or when I would’ve told you about Buford if everyone hadn’t found out the way they did. And if I’d waited to tell you, you wouldn’t be mad at me, would you?”
Spencer shakes his head.
“I’m so sorry that I triggered you the way I did, Spencer,” Derek says seriously, gently twirling a loose curl around his fingers. “It was inexcusable, and it was a problem of my own making. I know you didn’t mean to leave the oven on and I know you were operating on auto-pilot when you told me you turned it off last night, and nothing I said was true. I was mad about stuff that happened yesterday and I failed to communicate that. It’s all on me. Nothing about this is your fault, you hear me?”
“Really?”
The way Spencer cranes his neck to look up at him, the trusting innocence in his eyes both breaking and warming Derek’s heart. “Really.”
“I want to tell you, Der, it’s just—” He sighs. “I’ve never talked about it with anyone, and it’s hard. I don’t… I don’t know where to start.”
“We have all the time in the world for you to tell me, baby. You can tell me everything all at once, or drop tiny pieces of information when you feel like it, or never tell me anything else ever again, and any of that is perfectly okay. I just need you to know that what happened this morning will never happen again, okay? I promise you.”
Spencer shifts, moving from his position curled around Derek to prop himself up with one arm, facing his boyfriend properly. “Thank you,” he says earnestly, before leaning down to kiss him. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, baby. More than anything.” He kisses him again before moving the duvet and making to get up. “Now, how about I order us some pizza for lunch and we spend the afternoon in bed. You can read or we can watch some documentaries or a movie, whatever you want.”
A small smile crosses Spencer’s face, and nothing’s ever felt more like a win.
“I think that sounds like a plan.”

Nostalgia before War
Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) Masterlist
Series Masterlist

A/N: This series will hopefuly have regular updates now, sorry for the delay with this one. this is like a fluffy break before the angst in the next parts
The comforting nostalgia of your room surrounded you, your fingers playing with Wanda's in silence. She didn't say anything, wanting to stay in the quiet you'd created just for yourselves. But a knock sounded at the door anyway, interrupting the silence.
"Coming?" Natasha asked, opening the door and giving both of you a small smile. You gave her a tight smile and nodded, getting off your bed. Wanda followed your motions, at your heels as you followed your mom out of the room.
Your hand slipped from hers as you walked towards the elevator. The silence blanketing you wasn't one of comfort, it was rather of awkwardness. The sarcastic quips and the small talk from Natasha weren't there, rather just the sound of your footsteps.
Hesitantly, you slipped your hand into hers, trying to provide whatever comfort you could. The tension left her shoulders as she shot you a quick smile. Holding her hand was something you did whenever you were nervous, or scared, now it seemed like you were the one comforting her.
Her hand slipped from yours as you walked outside, refusing to show any vulnerability to the rest of the team. A small sigh left your lips at the action, smiling at them while walking into the room. Your smile wasn't returned by anyone, a grim silence surrounding the rest of the room.
Frowning, you made your way into the kitchen, seeing as it was the only empty spot in the otherwise full room. The rest of them stood in their chosen spots, looking around nervously. They watched as Wanda followed you, taking your hand nervously while standing behind the counter. . A secret hung over them, daring to be spilled by any of them.
"Is there a plan?" You asked, breaking the silence in the room. Steve nodded near the far end, sighing and nodding for Vision to speak. He hesitated, moving towards both of you in the kitchen. Setting his hands on the countertop, he let the silence linger for another moment before revealing the secret they were all keeping.
"We're going to take out the stone."
"What?" You snapped, your eyebrows furrowing together. Wanda squeezed your hand gently before moving her thumb in a calming motion across your hand. You bit your lip tightly, waiting for her to speak before your anger got the best of you.
"You didn't let me finish," Vision said, fidgeting a little. "Dr. Banner is going to be operating Wakanda."
Wanda squeezed your hand again before you could speak. Your head snapped to face her, seeing the worry written clearly across her face. She wasn't looking at you, rather staring at Vision curiously. The muscle in her jaw tensed, she bit her lip tightly.
"What's in Wakanda?" She asked, her voice constrained, as if she wanted to ask more questions but held them to herself. The vision opened his mouth to speak, but found himself at a loss for words, turning around to Bruce to explain for him.
"The tools I need to take out the mind stone." He began, toying with his ripped sleeves. "And keep Vision alive."
You turned to face Wanda, watching her clench her jaw tightly. Fear showed plainly on her face, her wide eyes, her pursed lips, how tightly she was squeezing your hand. But she nodded, almost as if she was giving her approval for this to happen.
The rest of the team nodded in response, moving towards the exit and the jet. Natasha gave you and Wanda a nervous look. You tried to give her a reassuring smile even though you didn't know what was going to happen.
"Let's move," Steve announced, leading you towards the jet.
The air in the jet was almost suffocating with silence. The team littered throughout it, almost brooding as they stared at the grounds. All of them knew of the fight to come, but none were brave enough to talk about it. Wanda on the other hand had tried to talk to Vision about all of this, about losing the infinity stone.
The android didn't make matters better, telling her that she would have to destroy the infinity stone, even if they didn't get it out in time. It made her all the more upset as she toyed with your fingers in a different corner of the jet.
You racked your brain for something to say, to start the most simple conversation. Nothing came up, some lame jokes came to mind but you doubted now was the time for them. Looking around, you tried to remember something funny enough or important enough to talk about that happened.
A grin quickly covered your face when you remembered the perfect thing.
"Hey, Wands." You called, bringing her attention up to you. She stopped playing with your fingers, all of her focus on what you were about to say.
"I think this is the same jet where you kissed me for the first time." You whispered, grinning even wider when her face turned a light pink at the memory. She hid her face into your shoulder, recalling the incident with far too much detail.
"Y/n," Wanda whined, slightly muffled by your shirt. Despite her upset antics, you could almost feel her smiling into your shoulder. The memory wasn't a sad one, rather an embarrassing one for the witch nestled in your shoulder. The grin never left your face as you recalled it, turning to whisper in her ear.
"I can't believe you were so scared of my mom." You whispered, your hand winding out of hers to rest on her waist. Her other hand still found yours, twisting the rings on your fingers. She mumbled for you to stop, but had no intention of making you do so.
"You can't blame me," She murmured into your shoulder, recalling the incident. You really couldn't blame her, you knew your mom could be intimidating and often even scary when she wanted to. You don't blame either of them for the incident, but you could still find it hilarious.
"I can't," You whispered, kissing the top of her hairline. "But it was hilarious."
A grin covered Wanda's face as you recalled the entire incident. Everything from the glares Natasha shot at Wanda in the jet, to the pink blush of her cheeks. It had been just after your first date with her, neither of you was brave enough to tell Natasha yet. She knew you were (your sexuality), but dating was still something new to tell her.
But she was a spy, she found out and tried to confront you in the jet. Which had just happened to be where you were kissing Wanda for the first time. The next events went by rather quickly, Wanda sprinting out of the jet, her face as red as a tomato.
Wanda didn't know how much you'd laughed with your mom after she left. She didn't know about the conversation you'd had with your mom either. The conversation about Natasha being skeptical about Wanda and almost trying to get you not to date her.
You'd never told Wanda that you'd defended her in front of your mother. Natasha was being protective over you, even more so since the witch had fought against them, against her before. She still got nightmares of what Wanda had shown her.
But she'd given her a chance, eventually finding herself smiling whenever you were with Wanda. She saw the way you cared for each other, and it was everything she'd hoped for you. Even now, there was a small smile on her face as she watched you whisper to Wanda as she cuddled into your side.
The corner you held to yourselves in the jet was like a small universe you'd created for yourselves. Where the rest of the team, the trip to Wakanda, the battle ahead, none of it existed. For those few moments, it was just the two of you that mattered.
But like all things, it would end.
The battle would have to be fought, but none of you could tell what was coming.
A/N: You really don't know what's coming ;)

Chaos
Summary: Everyone was convinced you’d never meet your match. That was, until you got the literal kick to the head of a lifetime.
Word Count: 1726
Tags/Warnings: alcohol, possible concussion, slight illegal behavior, just a little smutty
I’m feeling chaotic, let’s go dancing. Who’s in?
Your friends were used to you starting craziness as soon as you clocked out on Friday afternoon. You were sure they all got your text and rolled their eyes, but they were stuck with you at this point.
You got all ready - glam but also comfortable - you never knew where the night was going to go. Last time you went out, you ended up dancing until 2am, and then watching the sunrise from the rooftop of an abandoned warehouse. You weren’t sure how many of these weekends you had left - your friends had started settling down and were less enthusiastic about joining you in your shenanigans. They all had tried (and failed) to set you up with their boyfriend’s friends - unable to find someone who could match your energy. But at the same time, you loved your life. You could do anything you wanted, whenever you wanted. You were financially stable, had a good job, a nice apartment...you weren’t really looking for anyone or anything to come in and change things.
You met the girls at the club, wearing the dress that made you feel most confident, paired with your worn in Converse high tops. “HEY BITCHES!” You gave each friend big sloppy kisses on both cheeks. They handed you a drink - you were last to arrive, as usual. “Y/N, I was just telling the girls about the engagement party my future mother-in-law is planning. You wouldn’t believe how tacky it is going to be! The invitations alone…” You cut her off after pounding your drink, and pointed to the dance floor. “I’m gonna go there now. Bye!” Setting your empty glass on the nearest table, you ran over to the middle of the dance floor.
You loved the feeling of the stereo bass pumping in your chest. The ringing in your ears blocking out your inhibitions as you moved your body without care, your skin lit up in colors and sparkles. Here, in this moment, you were truly happy. Not a care in the world. No thoughts in your head saying you were unworthy of the love your friends had found. Complete and full contentment at the life you had chosen for yourself. And it was then that you received a swift kick to the side of your head.
A few seconds later, you opened your eyes to see the hazel eyes of a wild haired, sweaty man. “Fuuucking hell, kid! I thought for sure you were dead. Are you alright?” You blinked up at him and nodded, unsure how you got to be flat on your back in the first place. “I’m so sorry, I was carrying my best lesbian friend on my shoulders, and when we spun around, her fucking foot hit you in the head.” He wipes his hand down his shirt before handing it to you, helping you up off the floor. The man was tall, dressed in a hilarious mismatch of clothes, with a mop of brown hair that stuck to his sweaty forehead, partially covering his eyes. He sported a patchy moustache/goatee combo which brought your attention to his plush, pink lips.
He leaned down to look you directly in your eyes, examining them closely. “I don’t think you have a concussion...are you sure you’re alright?” You took a deep breath. “Yes. Totally. Super duper alright. All good.” He chuckled a deep laugh, showing off his imperfectly perfect teeth. “Awesome. I’m Adam - we’re going to go find shit to throw off the overpass. Wanna come?” You nodded enthusiastically, never having been this lost for words in your life. He grabbed your hand and dragged you out of the bar, barely giving you the chance to smile or wave at your friends as you exited.
Adam and his friends brought you all across the city. Finding items to keep or to toss, literally, off of the highway overpass. Your group steadily dwindled as you explored the city’s hidden pockets, eventually leaving you, Adam, and a reusable grocery bag full of spare car parts and rotten vegetables alone on the pedestrian bridge that crossed the city’s busiest highway. Standing together, you looked upon the city skyline, standing proudly against a dark sky that was littered with stars. It was your favorite view. Feeling Adam’s gaze on you, you turned to look up at him. “Everything okay?” you asked, unsure why he was making such a face. “Yeah, kid, just making sure you’re not gonna have a seizure or somethin’ dumb.” He chewed the inside of his cheek as he resumed looking at the city.
With the early morning hour, there wasn’t a ton of good targets to toss your garbage at. “Wanna split a pizza?” You asked, breaking the uncomfortable silence. Adam smiled and nodded, giving you the chance get him back for earlier, to grab his hand and run. You took the long way, zig zagging through dark alleys, running up and down stairs, eventually landing at your favorite, hole in the wall 24-hour pizza parlor. “Jimmy!!!!” You squealed are the shop owner, waving at him and jumping up and down. The proprietor groaned, pushing himself out of his chair and walked up to the window. “What can I getcha, y/n...and friend?” Adam smiled at Jimmy, and then you, and then Jimmy again. Nervously laughing and still trying to catch his breath, he shoved his hands into his pockets. “Anything but fucking green peppers,” you both said, almost simultaneously. Jimmy rolled his eyes and headed back to the kitchen.
“Jimmy’s the best. He almost single handedly fed me all through my senior year of college. I was building this Trojan Horse out of Amazon boxes inside my apartment and I couldn’t access my kitchen because it was full of boxes so…” Adam grabbed your face, pulling you in for a rough kiss, his pillowy lips absorbing the blow. Your eyes were wide open, arms limp at your side. Sensing you weren’t reciprocating, Adam pulled back, hands still on your face. “I’m building a boat in my apartment right now, gonna sail down the Hudson. I’ve never met anyone like you before, like me - someone who could keep up with me and not be some fucking loser.” Adam looked deep into your eyes. “We were meant to meet tonight, Y/N. I was supposed to hit you in the head with my best lesbian friend.” Adam squeezed his large hands together, smooshing your face. “Fuck the pizza, come see my boat.”
Jimmy walked up at that moment, pizza box in tow. “No, no fucking my pizza. Here - on the house - now get out of here. And y/n, I don’t want to find this pizza on some roof or in a tree or whatever the fuck you’re planning on doing tonight.” You turned your head towards Jimmy, with Adam’s help, and said through your smooshed face “Fanks Jummy.” Grabbing the pizza, you looked back up at Adam. Adam moved your head up and down, speaking in a high pitched voice “Yes, Adam, I’d love to see your boat!” Looking down at you with a cheesy grin, you started to laugh. “Fwine, but wet go uf my fwace.” Adam flailed his arms into the air. “Well let’s fucking go, kid!”
Adam wasn’t kidding, he really was building a boat in his living room. It was the coolest thing you’ve ever seen. “Are these old pallets? Is that a fisherman’s knot? Did you repurpose 2x4s from…” “Whoa whoa y/n don’t get a lady boner over my awesome ass boat!” Your eyes were sparkling, climbing over piles of wood and fabric and an overused power strip. “When is she going to be ready to sail?” you asked, your voice giving away your excitement. “Why,” Adam stalked towards you, backing you up against the mast, “wanna be my sexy first mate?” Your heart was beating through your chest. This wasn’t your average one night stand, this was different - you could tell. This wasn’t the plan. But you couldn’t deny that he was your match. He was right, you were meant to meet tonight. You took a deep, shaky breath, looking into Adam’s eyes. “Aye, aye, captain.”
Adam growled, wrapping his arms underneath your bottom and lifting you up. You wrapped your arms around his neck and legs around his waist, squealing in surprise. He slammed your body harder against the boat’s mast, shoving his tongue into your mouth and squeezing your ass as he ground his rock hard erection into your pelvis. You lifted one hand from his neck, reaching down to unbutton his jeans, the slightest graze of your fingers causing Adam’s hips to thrust. The energy of that motion cracked the fragile integrity of the mast, causing Adam to fall forwards, landing on top of you, the broken splinters of wood scratched along your back.
You both groaned. “Fuck, kid, you ok? How’s your head?” Opening up to the same concerned, hazel gaze from earlier in the evening, you replied “Yep. Super duper.” That was good enough for Adam, who stood up quickly, ripping his jeans and underwear down, kicking his legs for assistance. You lifted your hips to shimmy your own panties down to your ankles. Adam returned to his place between your legs. Looking up at him with a grin, you laughed “ahoy, matey. shiver me timbers.” Adam grunted - “you’re so fucking weird, and so fucking wet,” he ran two fingers through your slick, “and just for me.” You whined, moving your hips to meet his hand. “Gotta make sure you’re ready for me. Gunna drop anchor in this hot cunt.”
Adam spent the rest of the night straddled over your back, where you laid on your stomach on his bed. Using a tweezer, he removed the hundreds of tiny splinters that had embedded themselves into your skin. You sighed contentedly, taking a large sip of milk, unsure what the future held. But for the first time, in a long time, the thought of sharing that future with someone didn’t make you sick to your stomach. You turned your head to take a look at him, wearing lab safety goggles “in case one flew out at him.” Smiling, you rested your head on his pillow, before falling asleep and dreaming of sailing down the Hudson together.

Here is a selection for your lovely self to choose from <3
50, 63 or 110 please 🥺 For Kerry...Susan...the wives - you know ofc.
My Hidden Angel
prompt 110: just pretend we’re okay, just for tonight
warnings: mild alcohol consumption, touches on topic of 'outing', some references to suicidal ideation
other tags: kerry x sandy (before), kerry x susan (implied), kerry & susan, hurt/comfort, hugs
Kerry’s eyes traced the mulberry patterns intertwine then separate then briefly meet together again followed by a small gap before they finally made themselves whole, ending in solid semi-circles at the opposite end of the duvet, striking loud against the cream which predominated the piece.
She was supposed to be happy, finally released loud and proud into society, herself - different, yet still beautiful. So what was wrong with her? Because she didn’t feel like that. She didn’t feel like that at all. The burning in her throat came in waves of strength whilst her heart felt like a large block of ice that had plummeted into her stomach. As for the rest of her body, it all just felt numb. Numb and useless. For the first time in a long time, she felt small, really small. Peering eyes had followed her throughout the ER as she tried to pretend that everything was ok, that she had wanted that to happen. That… what they thought didn’t matter to her. She was their boss after all. It shouldn’t.
But if she couldn’t even convince herself, how on earth could she convince anyone else?
After leaving work she had stormed over to the Fire Station where Sandy worked to give her a piece of her mind, chew her, and spit her out as Sandy had done to her. Returning the favour. But she had been left feeling even worse.
Even more hated and alone than she had before which was something considering… everything.
And she knew that if she passed away in her sleep, no one would care. No one would come to her funeral, no one would mourn. And as devastating as that is, she felt at peace. For once in her damn life, she wanted to be quiet. To hide. To return back into her bulletproof shell and never leave.
There was a light tap on the door.
Kerry ignored it. It could wait. Probably a door-to-door salesperson. Not worth her time.
A slightly louder knock followed, and then a loud buzz.
This now seemed more like a person, perhaps… Sandy?
Kerry’s heart fluttered in hope. And it was this alone which eventually forced her to get one and then two legs out of bed, wrapping her body tightly in her silk dressing gown before slowly making her way to the door, leaning on nearby furniture to do so.
When Kerry got to the door she took in a small breath, closing her eyes to rack up the courage to be able to speak coherently in front of her again. She didn’t want to relax her guard, or to let her anger completely ease off but what she really didn't want - was to be alone. And it was this sole urge for companionship that drove her resolve to forgive Sandy. She had found herself in the past year and despite her still wavering confidence in her sexuality she couldn't deny that she had never felt more complete, more understood, lighter, and happier since she had discovered she was a…
Lesbian.
In one quick movement, she turned her key in the lock and pushed down the door handle pulling it towards her, she opened her eyes expecting to see Sandy on the other side apologetic and soft but instead she saw someone whom she did not expect. Dr. Lewis.
“I-” Kerry started, her face dumbfounded.
Susan just smiled, 75% convincingly, holding up a bag to her face filled with a lovely aroma of spices.
Kerry looked at her suspiciously.
“I’ve brought you dinner,” Susan said, after a beat, trying to ignore the deep feelings of anger and frustration which she had always associated with Kerry.
“Oh thank you,” Kerry replied eventually, peering at the bag from where she was standing, frozen to the spot, “Why don’t you come in?” She added awkwardly her voice catching on the words and she squinted her nose and eyes slightly in embarrassment of herself, letting out a small sigh.
Susan just continued to smile and stepped into the door as Kerry shuffled out of the way before she closed the door.
“Please come on through.” Kerry said, “oh, and shoes off before you come in please.”
Susan had expected that to be the case, she smiled playfully to herself as she slid her shoes off.
Kerry stood, watching her uncomfortably, wondering what she would do and also questioning as to why this had happened in the first place. She bit her lip and curled her right ankle around to scratch at the back of her calf, which wasn’t the best idea as within seconds she began to lose her balance. Before she really had the opportunity to fall or to steady herself, Susan caught her outstretched arms ensuring she stayed strictly upright.
Kerry was shocked. Not only by the sudden contact but also of the position she was in with regards to Susan. She was staring directly at Susan’s chest. Well, where her chest was below her periwinkle jumper. Her eyes widened and she raised her head to look at Susan before shaking herself back into reality and straightening up allowing Susan to let go of her arms. Despite this, the place where she had touched her, burned.
When Kerry looked back at Susan she noticed her empty hands. But where was the food? Oh, Susan had just placed the bag on the floor. She needed to get a grip.
Kerry made to brush off her slacks only to find silky material there instead and that is when she realised that she was in fact not wearing her day clothes at all but her night-time things, and her cheeks began to glow red.
But Susan didn’t care, she just picked up her takeout bag and gestured towards the entrance to the living room, “This way?”
Kerry swallowed and then nodded, a bit too fiercely. Susan smiled and Kerry followed her into the living room.
“Do you have any films?” Susan asked as she sat herself down on the sofa.
“What do you mean?”
“Just… films.”
“Yeah, I mean, uh… kinda, maybe not the type you’re thinking of though...” Kerry’s voice tailed off.
“That’s alright, we can just watch whatever’s on.”
Kerry stood, passively watching Susan turn on the tv and set out the food she had brought with her onto the table before her. After a moment it registered that this may appear strange so in a hurried shuffle made her way to sit down next to Susan. She placed her hands politely on her knees and looked pointedly at the carpet in front of her. Susan glanced over.
“Are you alright?” She wondered aloud, a touch of a laugh in her voice.
Kerry furrowed her eyebrows, her mouth twitching in tandem, “Yeah, I-” she let herself process what she wanted to express before she turned abruptly round to Susan and queried, “Why are you here?”
The harshness of her voice and the absence of friendliness in Kerry’s general demeanour led Susan to feel as if she was being interrogated, as if she wasn’t welcome in Kerry’s home, and by breaching this unspoken contract of keeping distance between employer and employee she had perhaps angered the beast without intending to. It would not be the first time. But as she took her time to consider Kerry’s apparel, the soft plea in her eyes, and her stiff, clunky posture, the way she glanced at her leg every so often as if she was worried something would happen to it. But what could it possibly undergo? Except… judgement. Kerry’s defensiveness, her ferocity, so present in Susan’s life as a constant adherence and annoyance was down to experiences like she had had today. Susan could see that now. She knew that in the past she had only helped contribute but today maybe she could change that, but first, she needed Kerry to trust her.
Susan relaxed her shoulders and placed the empty take-out bag onto the floor underneath the sofa before she began.
“To cut a long story short; I’m bi.” She looked up to catch her eyes with Kerry’s as if to prove she was telling the truth before she continued, “And, when I was in high school, there was this most beautiful girl, she had dark hair and the pinkest lips and her voice always sounded like she was singing.” Susan closed her eyes, reminiscing.
“We were best friends, her and I, and we did everything together. I was intoxicated, but there was nothing I could have really done about it. I had a massive crush on her. I don’t know how they knew, perhaps I hadn’t hidden it as well as I’d thought but some of the boys in my year started teasing me about it, asking if I was a ‘lesbigay or whatever, and when I obviously didn’t respond and got embarrassed they um, they decided to announce it to the whole school.”
Kerry’s mouth opened, stunned into silence. This wasn’t what she had expected at all! Setting aside the fact that Susan was also gay, Kerry listened to her story with deep compassion, and horror. She tried to express her sympathies but only managed to stare at Susan wide-eyed and she hoped that the empathy she felt in her heart managed to express itself well enough on her face.
After looking at Kerry's face, Susan continued, “Yeah, it was pretty terrible, I lost a lot of friends that year. But um...” She paused for a second, considering her next words. “The thing that happened to you today reminded me of that and I couldn’t rest easy staying at home and thinking about it so I came over and did what I wish someone, a friend, or a parent even, had done when I was in that state. Because it is tough, and it is lonely. And no matter the shit that’s happened between us in the past, no one deserves that, no one. So as allies, I guess, let’s just pretend everything’s okay, just for tonight.” Susan smiled at Kerry then, and the redhead began to understand how much she had needed a friend, someone who would accept her, and understand why she had to hide. Someone to let her know she wasn’t alone.
“But anyway!” Susan clapped her hands together with a new-found cheerfulness instilled in her, disrupting the melancholy mood immediately. “Let’s eat!”
Throughout the evening they talked very little, making mild comments on the hallmark movies or about the food, and Kerry eventually found the strength to thank Susan for her kindness. Once the meal was over, Kerry produced a bottle of Pinot Grigio for the two to share and despite Susan’s inner voice telling her to ‘go home’ she accepted the offer. The alcohol loosened Kerry’s tongue and she was no longer sat like a meerkat on the lookout but instead as if she was spending an evening with a friend. Susan let Kerry cry and rested her head on her, oh the softness of the cashmere against Kerry’s cheek as she buried herself deep in Susan’s softness.
They stayed in that position for a while, even once Kerry’s crying had ceased, Susan would rub her hand up and down her bank comforting her and reminding her that someone was there. Someone who cared about her, who understood her.
The intimacy and the alcohol and the events of the day meant that once Kerry ultimately did lift her head up and came face to face with Susan, so close she could almost feel the light hairs on her face, she was overcome with this urge to kiss her. Not a rough kiss, nor a gentle kiss, more a kiss goodbye or hello, a kiss saying thank you. Her hand tenderly stroking Susan's jawline, suggesting the act was about more than just lust or circumstance.
At first, Susan lent into it, Kerry’s taste being much calmer than she had expected, but once she realised what was happening she pulled herself out of it, gently, so as not to potentially hurt Kerry.
Susan smiled a sweet smile, slightly flushed as if she was sixteen once more and encountering her crush in the cafeteria. “You’re a really good kisser,” she observed trying to relieve some of the deep mortification evident on Kerry’s face, “But not tonight.”
She helped Kerry to her bed before setting herself down on the couch and continued to grin, touching her fingertips lightly to her lips where Kerry had kissed her.
Not tonight, but next time...?

the only touchstone of truth - chapter 6/7
Chapter: 6/7 Fandom: I Care A Lot (2020) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Fran/Marla Grayson Characters: Marla Grayson, Fran (I Care A Lot) Additional Tags: Canon Compliant, Canon Lesbian Relationship, Origin Story, Canon Backstory, First Meetings, First Kiss, First Dates, Getting Together, Morally Ambiguous Character, Illegal Activities, Eventual Smut, Flirting, Partners in Crime, crime wives
It’s Sunday… probably. As if the events of the previous night weren’t incredible enough to erase most reasonable thoughts from her mind, there was a pair of wicked lips and misleadingly delicate hands currently doing some very distracting things to Fran’s body. She was lying on her side and Marla was pressing her body to hers from behind.
“Hm… no, it’s too early,” she distantly murmured, even if her body wasn’t exactly putting up a fight.
“Oh good, you’re awake,” Marla whispered, amusement and deep hunger coating her tone, “I like to seize the day.” Then she became even more purposeful in her actions. Her lips went from kissing Fran’s neck to softly biting the tan skin. Her fingers that had been brushing the soft skin of her waist to get her to wake up, finally started moving south to their real destination.
Fran sighed. Her eyes were still closed but her legs were instinctively making room for Marla to work. The blonde barely had to tease her. It was as if no time at all had passed from their activities from the previous night, so Marla found the other woman ready and responsive to her touches.
In a matter of minutes Fran’s hips were twitching against Marla’s palm, she was unabashedly moaning, and blindly she reached out with a hand behind her to grasp Marla’s blonde messy hair and bring her closer. “Fuck, I love you body,” Marla whispered, and kept up a trail of compliments that grew increasingly suggestive until she had the woman in her arms whimpering her name as she reached her climax.
Fran tried to slow down her erratic breathing. There was a deep pleasurable warmth that she felt deep in her bones. Marla was tenderly kissing her temple. “Okay, now you can go back to sleep,” Marla said. That made Fran chuckle, but she wasn’t about to argue. She only turned around and wrapped an arm around Marla, until both of them drifted off to sleep once more.
--
“Don’t you ever rest?” Fran wondered, squinting her eyes to look up at the blonde sitting on the bed beside her.
“I’m unemployed, Fran,” Marla reminded her without looking away from her phone, and without stilling the fingers from her other hand that had been softly playing with the other woman’s hair, “Rest from what?”
The brunette chuckled and closed her eyes again, determined to get a few extra minutes of sleep. “You did burn a building last night,” she mumbled with amusement. Her reward was a proud laugh coming from Marla. “Make yourself at home,” Fran yawned, “just give me five more minutes.”
“Sure,” Marla put down her phone and then leaned down to leave a kiss on Fran’s lips, “I’ll go make coffee.”
The blonde slid off the bed and as she searched for something to wear, her mind wandered off. Staying for breakfast at a woman’s home wasn’t exactly part of her routine, but somehow it felt like the only obvious thing to do with Fran. Not only did she find herself wearing one of Fran’s t-shirts, but there was a strong and unfamiliar feeling that made her stop in the doorway of the bedroom and turn around to gaze at the sleeping woman in the bed. Red alarms went off in her mind for the way she already felt so attached to Fran, and perhaps even more alarming was how easily it was to ignore those warnings. Fran was a part of her life now, and she was determined to keep it that way.
--
Marla had one hand gripping the mess of white sheets of the bed, another hand lost in the mess of brown curls of Fran’s head, which was currently at work in between her thighs. A loud moan escaped her when her hips pushed forward to get closer to whatever magic tricks Fran was pulling out of her. She could practically feel her smirking against her. “Your coffee,” Marla sighed, impressed with how difficult Fran made it for her to even speak, “it’s going to get cold.”
This got Fran to pull her face away from Marla, who had to bite her bottom lip to keep herself from making any sounds that would betray how disappointed she truly was. Fran could see it in her face though. “Let it get cold,” she said in a husky voice. Then she smiled, still making eye contact with the woman she crazy for, and slowly lowered her face once more. A moment later, Marla was throwing her head back against the pillows, overcome with pleasure.
--
“This is good,” Marla said, taking another bite of pancakes, part of the breakfast they were enjoying while still in bed.
“You sound surprised,” Fran retorted, her lips slightly tilting in amusement. She let Marla put on a defensive face for a second, then she shrugged. “Fine, I’m not a great cook. I can make three meals at most, but they’re all fantastic, okay?”
The blonde hummed warmly. “I believe you. Now I just need to try those other two meals to judge for myself.” She picked up one of the strawberries and offered it to Fran, who made a good show out of eating it off her fingers.
During a lull of the conversation, with Marla looking perfectly at home sipping coffee while leaning on the pillows of Fran’s bed, the brunette mindlessly scrolled through her phone until something caught her eye.
“Do you want to hear the news about your little stunt last night?”
“Little stunt? I thought I was the best you ever had,” Marla replied.
After she was done laughing, Fran raised an eyebrow at her, “I didn’t say such a thing.” She wouldn’t say it either, not for a long time, when they would both realize each of them were the best part of each other’s lives, in more ways than one.
Marla thought about it for a moment. “Are they good news?”
“Yeah,” Fran looked at her phone, her eyebrows furrowing just slightly as she read. “And there aren’t any old colleagues knocking on my door so it looks like you’re in the clear for now.”
This made Marla nod. The feeling of success warmed her body like almost nothing else. It was a job well done and she knew that. The satisfaction was enough. “Then I’ll read them later. We’ll talk business later,” she decided, and the brunette sent an intrigued look her way. “For now, let’s finish this.”
Fran’s only response was a smile, a beautiful and bright smile. They continued their breakfast, talking, stealing kisses, and enjoying each other’s company. The success of her plan of revenge wasn’t even the number one thing in Marla’s mind. The one thing she couldn’t shake off her head was how incredibly beautiful was Fran’s genuine and carefree smile.
--
“Fran, don’t you dare.”
There was just something captivating about the way Marla spoke. Mostly everything she said. But especially things like that little warning. Marla was dangerously good with words and even more powerful with their undertones. When she talked, she left you with no doubt there was some secret meaning to whatever she said. There just had to be something else, something that twisted your perception of whatever she meant in order to be beneficial to her and only her. And yet. It was different when she addressed Fran. There were tricks and hidden meanings, sure. But she just gave the feeling that Fran was in on her secrets or, at least, that she was invited to try and figure it out.
So, Fran didn’t hesitate when she walked behind Marla and wrapped her arms around her. The blonde was doing the dishes and she sighed happily when Fran started kissing her neck, so that must have been a sign that she didn’t misinterpret her words.
Still, “Do you want me to leave you alone?” Fran breathed next to her ear. She would respect Marla’s wishes, at this moment, and speaking about life in general too. She would leave, if that’s what Marla wanted.
“Don’t you dare.”
That was it. Repeating her own words, now Marla was being as sincere as she was capable of. There was a mutual feeling that this was about more than what was about to go down in Fran’s kitchen. But still, Marla leaned her head to one side, exposing more of her neck for Fran to work with, and encouraged her to go on with whatever she had planned.
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” Fran happily chuckled. Her hands started to work, caressing the top of Marla’s thighs, slowly inching upward and pushing up her old t-shirt, the only thing still on Marla’s body. “I’ve got you,” she whispered.
--
The day was progressing slowly and pleasurably. The last thing Marla wanted was to walk away from Fran. She didn't want to overstay her welcome, but luckily for her, every time she so much as reluctantly mentioned the time, Fran was eager to prove how much she wanted her there. The problem was, Marla was still keenly aware that her life and business had crumbled over completely. She had nothing. Nothing but this idyllic fantasy with Fran. She only needed to make sure this could become a reality for them. And then…
“What are you thinking of?”
The question startled Marla. She had been standing by the window, holding a new cup of coffee and this time wearing a button-up shirt from the brunette’s closet. Speaking of which, the owner of the shirt was laying on the bed, studying her with sweet, passionate, and frighteningly clever brown eyes.
“Too much shit,” Marla shrugged.
“Care to share?”
“It might be a turn off,” Marla raised an eyebrow. She was deflecting, they both knew it. But Fran looked equally amused and patient. “Are you sure,” Marla asked with a huff, “you don’t want me to leave already?”
“Marla,” Fran looked at her, her eyes were sincere, but she knew how to treat Marla like a lioness, with respect not to scare her away, but with affection to earn her trust. So her next words were carefully playful. “I’ll kick you out whenever I want. But, if you have nowhere else to be, I still have plans that involve getting you on this bed.”
The two of them exchange a smile. There was no need to say more at the moment. As long as the two of them wanted to be together, there was no need to pretend. It was an unexpected but pleasant feeling of belonging at someone else’s side without any sort of pressure to be someone they weren’t.
“I need a job,” Marla blurted out. Well, it was difficult for Marla Grayson to simply blurt out something. There weren't any accidents in her vocabulary. As she continued to speak, it was clear the words had been growing into a calculated speech over time. “I hate jobs though. That’s why I started my own business.”
During the pause, Fran tilted her head. “Are you broke?” she asked.
“I’ve always been,” she scoffed. “Poor, technically. It’s not my thing though. So, I fight back. Whatever it takes. I just need to find… something new. A new business. New plan.”
Fran nodded. “If it’s any help,” she added, “let me remind you I quit my job.”
There was a totally unexpected mixture of pride and guilt inside Marla upon hearing that. Fran had been counting on the money from their win at court, and that had failed. Still, she’d quit that awful job.
“What about the private investigator, bounty hunter gig?” Marla wondered.
“What? Are you worried I’ll track you down if you left any traces last night?”
Marla shook her head fondly. She left her coffee cup on the dresser and walked over to the bed. Then she leaned in and kissed Fran. her hand landing on her jaw and holding her close. However, after a few more seconds of it, it was Fran who pulled back.
“Are you okay?” she asked softly. She was able to tell the other woman was not into it as she’d been since the previous night.
“Yes, absolutely. Sorry,” Marla shook her head again and took a seat on the bed in front of Fran. “Just… ideas.”
Not problems. Ideas. That had to be one of the best things about Marla. Obstacles were opportunities to come out a winner. Problems were just ways to turn things around for her benefit. That was Marla Grayson. And, for Fran, that was something mesmerizing to watch first-hand. But, why not, also something she’d kill to be a part of.
“Don’t let me stop you,” Fran replied, leaning back and getting comfortable.
“What?” Marla frowned. It was an oddity to catch her off guard, and Fran already knew she should treasure the way the blonde looked when she was honestly confused.
“You said you had ideas, right? Let’s hear ‘em,” Fran said. She was confident, and even when she saw hesitation in Marla’s face she leaned closer and added. “Come on. I encouraged you to go big at court because I seriously believed you have what it takes. I saw you last night, Marla. You are brilliant and, well, a little awful, but I… I’m into it. I want to see more of that. You know I could help you. Don’t we make a great team?”
“That’s an understatement,” Marla smiled, and it was a surprisingly sweet smile. She reached out and grabbed Fran’s hand, ready to say what they’d both been holding back for so long. “But it’s got to be more than just work, isn’t it? I mean, it is for me, Fran.”
For Fran, who found herself similarly mesmerized by Marla’s impressively cunning character as well as her rare displays of vulnerability, this was a moment that changed something in her heart forever. Of course it was about so much more than work. “I’m all in,” Fran promised. Her other hand moved lovingly to Marla’s check. “You got me.”
Afterward, Marla seemed to breathe easier and speak more confidently, if possible. It was very significant to Fran that she apparently had as much of an effect on Marla as the blonde had on her.
“Well then,” Marla cleared her throat, “how comfortable are you with… toying with the law?”
Fran chuckled. “Marla, I was in the police. Which is… admittedly worse than even you and I are. But, one thing I learned during my time there, is how not to break the law… but how to bend it to your will. And you, baby, have the strongest will I’ve ever seen.”
“Okay,” Marla nodded, her piercing blue eyes darkening. “Next, I’ll need you to tell me how you locked your mom in a care home to steal this really nice place for yourself.”
“My mom?” Fran scrunched up her face in confusion.
“I’ll explain. Just… later,” Marla sighed happily, leaning in once again to kiss Fran, this time even more earnestly than ever before.

You stood, staring at one of the many photographs of the two of you.
“She loved you,” Wanda said quietly as she came up to stand next to you. “As much as we all knew she did it to save the world, I think she really died for you.”
You nodded, you knew what she said was true. But when you stared at those photographs, you didn’t see the love, you saw the pain.
She’d broken your heart many times.
It was never in the way that people always assumed, though. It wasn’t cheating or lying or yelling or fighting. Natasha Romanoff didn’t break your heart in the typical ways. She broke it in more unique ways.
Like when you first met her. You were both working for the KGB, the most skilled assassins they’d ever had. You went on missions together, killed together, fought together- you became nearly inseparable for two people who weren’t supposed to need anyone.
But even the most skilled assassins got captured sometimes. And so there you two were, chained up in some dark, cold basement, water dripping down from the ceiling. You’d tried everything to get out, but nothing worked. You were both bruised and bloody, half naked and freezing. It was two days before Natasha finally broke free. She immediately came to help you out of your chains, but a noise outside the door meant guards.
“I’ll take care of them, and come right back for you, I promise, okay?” She asked, her voice hoarse from dehydration. Her hand came up to cup your cheek, her eyes searching yours for something indistinguishable. You nodded. You waited, anxiety constricting your chest as you heard the fighting commence outside the room. It got quiet eventually, and no one ever came back in, not the guards, and not Nat.
You thought that she had died, and that you were going to too.
You gave up all hope, begging the universe to give you back Natasha. Another day later, the KGB found you and rescued you, not having anything to say about Nat. You grieved for her for six months, putting all of your emotions into your training.
Eventually you moved on, and joined SHIELD. It had been a wild ride, coming to work for them, but you liked it. You had new purpose. It was your third day on the job when you saw her again. You didn’t talk about the past. But maybe you should have. You both were just so happy to have each other back, and it didn’t take long for you to become inseparable again.
Until she broke your heart once more.
Nat had released all SHIELD intel onto the internet, including everything about herself. You had been amazed at her courage, and had fallen even deeper in love with her. The night after taking down SHIELD and HYDRA, she’d knocked on your door.
“What’s wrong?” You questioned sleepily, opening the door further to let her in. She shook her head, remaining outside in the hallway.
“I blew all my covers.”
“I know.”
“I’ve got to go find a new one,” she continued. You were confused.
“A new one? Nat, everyone knows who you are. You don’t need to hide.”
“It’s in my nature. It’s who they made me, us, to be.”
“What? Natasha, you need sleep. Just-“
“No. I’m sorry, Y/N. I won’t ask you to wait for me, but you have to know that I love you. I’m sorry.”
You stood there in shock, the love of your life telling you she was leaving. And for a reason you found to be quite foolish. You couldn’t even bring yourself to move as she stepped closer, tears falling down both of your cheeks, as she pressed one final kiss to your lips. Her hand came up to cup your cheek and then she was gone.
You didn’t see her for a few months.
And then you were both fighting Ultron. At this point, it was impossible for you two to not be together, no matter how hard you both tried. And so one night she was in your bed, and then just never left.
This time it seemed different. Nat had a greater belief in who she was as a person, and what she wanted to do. You’d both gotten engaged, and it seemed like things were finally how they should be.
Until the Accords. You already knew you’d be divided. Or at least, it would seem that way.
You two fought each other for a bit on the tarmac.
“We’re still engaged right?” Natasha asked, a bit of humor creeping into her voice. You stifled a laugh.
“Depends on how hard you hit me.” And then she was thrown across the way by Wanda. You saw her head five minutes later towards the hangar, not knowing that would be the last time you saw her for a while.
You’d ended up in the Raft. And no one knew where she was for a time. After Steve had recused you, you ended up back in Russia for a bit. You thought you’d find her there, but she just didn’t want to be found it seemed. Another year, another heartbreak. You eventually gave up your search, moving to Italy.
And then Thanos happened.
You’d fought side by side with her. There was an element of tension between you two, but that had been there before. If you both weren’t so busy fighting, you would have gotten married right then and there, you were sure of it.
But you got dusted. The last thing you saw was her face as you disappeared. And you didn’t even have time to register the distraught look on her face.
Natasha spent years trying to bring everyone back. Mostly, you. You’d been everything to her. It hadn’t been a smooth journey, but it had been yours. And you always ended back up together, though, maybe you two shouldn’t have taken that for granted.
They succeeded in defeating Thanos, is what they told you. There was only sadness in their voices though, and you waited for the bad news. Clint had been the one to say it. And he had a message too.
“She, she told me,” Clint cried, barely making it through. “Told me to tell you that she loved you. And that you were everything she had ever wanted, everything she worked for. She was only sorry that she couldn’t bring you back sooner. That she took you for granted. She wanted you to know that she’s not sorry that she did it. Because she did it for you. Those were her last words before..”
You fell to your knees, sobbing. You only remembered Steve carrying you to your shared bed- well, only yours now. Somehow, it was one of the few things that had remained after the compound was hit.
You thought that would be the last time she broke your heart. You were wrong.
A month later, you had moved back to Russia. You’d gotten a call from one of your old KGB friends.
“Natasha told me to give this to you, should something happen.”
You had picked up a box, bringing it back to your tiny apartment. Inside, you found letters, hand written. There were hundreds, all from Natasha addressed to you. She had written one each day, starting after you had disappeared. The last one was the final straw.
Y/N, we’ve got a way to bring everyone back. Baby, I’m finally bringing you home.

Chapter 4: Hooked on a Feeling?
Some mornings it was merely coffee and parting ways. But some days, Joan would awaken in Zoey’s tiny bed to Zoey sheepishly offering her a plate of lukewarm toaster waffles and crummy instant coffee that they ate on Zoey's couch. Then Joan started cooking breakfast on the mornings that Zoey stayed over. It was practical at first: Zoey didn’t have time to get back to her apartment before getting to work and Joan worried about how little Zoey seemed to eat on a daily basis.
But then Joan found herself consciously buying for two. And noting the things Zoey liked so she could make sure to have them on hand. Making room for Zoey in her house; clearing out a drawer. Then a dresser.
She tried not to read into it. Zoey was spending a lot of time with her outside of work now; it was only logical that she make things easier for her. Zoey had certainly been accommodating of her needs; both in and out of the bedroom. Neither of them had uttered their safe words yet.
Two months passed. Their hookups had increasingly become less about sex and more about just being together: playing with the dogs, hate-watching terrible shows, and that one time they’d tried to paint Zoey’s apartment.
Okay, that time had eventually led to sex…but it hadn’t been planned.
Still, despite the…extracurriculars…their lives remained uncomplicated. And that was all Joan cared about. They could talk about a trashy reality tv show or eat each other out and not worry about anything changing. The sex remained fulfilling and exciting. Their work relationship had never been more collaborative and professional. Zoey smiled a lot.
Joan liked it. She liked it a lot.
So Joan let it become normal.
Zoey’s alarm blared, jolting Joan out of a pleasant dream about a coffee shop. “Ughhh, smash it.” She demanded, burying her face further into Zoey’s hair. She was still half in that corner shop, smelling the roasting beans. Her other half was nakedly wrapped around the coder’s naked form. It was unavoidable in Zoey's tiny bed.
Zoey shifted, dislodging Joan just enough that she could silence the alarm. “Come on.” She stroked Joan’s arm when it wrapped back around her waist. “We need to get up now if we’re going to be on time…”
Joan wriggled herself closer. “nooo…come on, we can blow off work for today…” She was warm and comfortable and far too satisfied to wake up and yell at people.
Zoey laughed, her back rising against Joan’s. “Together? Wont that raise some red flags?”
“No. We both got the flu!”
“And no one else?”
Joan sat up, glaring down at Zoey. “Zoey, as your boss and therefore the one you would report your sick leave too, I am hereby requesting that you take a sick day.” She pressed the back of her hand to Zoey’s forehead, smirking as the coder blushed. “You’re burning up. Positively flushed.”
Zoey dislodged her hand, pulling Joan’s arm back around her. “You get five more minutes…” She acquiesced, snuggling back into the embrace.
Joan scoffed, already nuzzling the back of Zoey’s neck, drinking in her warm, post-sleep scent. “You drive a hard bargain, red.”
“You love it.”
They both froze instantly, Joan’s grip tightening ever so slightly.
Shit…did she just?
Her gasp tickled the back of the younger woman’s neck. She could feel Zoey laying like a plank of wood in her arms, still but for the rapid rise and fall of her back.
Say something!
But her mouth wasn’t cooperating. It was just hanging there; open and dumb.
Zoey rolled towards her slightly, enough that she could look at Joan. The younger woman bit her lip, something like an apology on her face.
Joan stared at uncertain blue eyes, the weight of the moment making it hard for her to breathe. Her brain, caught in a sudden inferno of fear, still didn’t know how to make it all warm and comfortable and easy again. Laughing it off felt wrong. Ignoring it was impossible.
So she did the only thing she could think of. She rolled Zoey over fully and started kissing herself a path down the younger woman’s nude body.
Zoey’s hands immediately fisted in her hair and her legs wrapped around Joan’s neck as she got between them. This was practiced. This was familiar. Uncomplicated.
Within a minute, the coder was moaning Joan’s name, already beginning to twitch. Joan went all out: running her fingers softly down Zoey’s thighs, nibbling at her clit, and thrusting hard with her tongue. She used every trick she’d learned over the past two months to bring Zoey to a drawn-out, violent climax.
With her face in Zoey’s crotch, Joan couldn’t respond to what had been said. By the time she brought Zoey down off her high, she needed to leave to get to work anywhere near on time.
Heart racing, she left Zoey tangled in the sheets to recover and darted out of the apartment.
Joan stalked through the streets to SPRQ Point, annoyingly turned on by her work on Zoey and her concern still swirling heavily in her chest. She barked at someone taking their sweet time in the doorway of the lobby, just to feel a little better.
What the fuck was that?
Zoey’s slip-up had haunted her the whole way to the building.
Surely…Zoey had just meant that Joan found her charming? Incorrigible? Annoyingly cute?
Because there was no way she’d meant…that she actually…no.
Joan shook her head. She liked this thing they had. It was casual but fun. Nice. There was no pressure and no expectations. Nothing resembling love. Just two women hanging out and having sex with each other semi-regularly. She could kick Zoey out of bed if she wanted and there would be no hard feelings, no loud arguments or passive-aggressive retribution. Not that she ever would…
Oh.
Joan stopped dead. People moved around her in the lobby as she rooted in place. The half-formed realization twisted her entire lower half into the ground. The image of the coder tangled in bed sheets, sweaty and satisfied in the dawn light tugged at her heart and she had a sudden urge to be back there.
Fuck.
She may have already gone too deep.

Hey team, I’m looking for a specific fic. It had Bucky hugging & then stabbing Steve in the gut at some point to hold him back. Then Bucky triggered a bomb or something that eradicated all of Brooklyn (or at least their old block). It was very tragic because someone had to do it & Bucky didn’t want Steve to live with the burden or he thought he wouldn’t have regrets for killing. The whole story was a series if I remember correctly. It was amazing. Thanks in advance. You’re amazing! 🙏🏻

Love your work! I read, couple of years back I think, a post-CA:CW fic where bucky is in cryo an Steve is depressed. Steve regurlarly breaks his hands on a punching back becouse he doesnt wrap them. He also sleeps entire days sometimes and at one point bucky is awake and notices and someone (sam?) is like ”yeah, he does that all the time” and bucky is like ”?!?!?”. There’s also the most awkward Christmas gathering with all the avengers in Wakanda. If you can find it, ill be forever gratefull!

I've been looking for a pre-war fic, where Bucky is in love with Steve and not to reveal it he sleeps with a lot of people, and I think that, in a scene, when a girl tries to dance with Steve, he meddles and ruins it quite badly. It is a bit dark. There are ofc (s). I couldn't find it on the ao3 search server.

Hi, i looked for this fic but cant find it. it was centred on buckys sister and was pre war. I remember that in the end buckys sister and mother go to steve and buckys apartment, see their beds together and figure everything out. in the last chapter we see one of buckys relatives talking to him and saying that his mom'd have accepted them, cause she was ok w/ this relative being a lesbian.

Hi, i was wondering if you knew the name of a fic i once read. At the beginning it was bucky/nat but they never actually had sex and nat was in love with bucky and consulted in steve ab how she felt. Bucky never slept with her cuz he loved steve i think? And steve only thought of bucky as a friend til he found out how bucky felt. Nat ended up dating sam in the end. Thanks!

I've tried for ages to find this one fic, with so many various tags and searches on here and ao3, but no luck. Basically, it's WWII with the Howlies on a mission, and Bucky gets shot. He gets infected, and worsens over the next few days, until eventually he dies. Steve is sad, etc etc, but then Bucky's heart starts beating again and he slowly heals and is eventually fine. It's foreshadowing him having the serum I think. Any idea what this one is? THanks!!!
arxiver87 said:
I searched for this fic for hours and came up empty. I believe it was written pre Civil War. It had POV Bucky, straight off of CA:WS going back to a Hydra base because he was programmed to. His handlers show up and give him increasingly strange orders, all of which make him more human. It becomes evident that these strange handlers are actually the avengers, Nat, Clint, Tony, etc. In the last scene Steve shows up, and Bucky no longer thinks of him as his mission, but recognizes him as Steve.

Hey! I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find this fic. I think Steve had been part of an experiment but i think it went wrong and he was dangerous so he needed to go see Tony and Bucky had to take him there. I remember him waiting at the airport and they got on a plane. Thanks in advance! :)

Lost Without You
Maria Hill Masterlist
Requested by Anon: Hello! Could u pls write a Maria Hill x fem!reader with #7 and #47 from the angst prompt list? Thanks!!!
7: “Without you, I’m lost.”
47: “Stop pushing me away!”
Word Count: 999 (angsty and fluffy)
A/N: I wanted to make this longer but like oh well
Dim lighting filled the bedroom, bedsheets and clothes were scattered. In the corner, a lamp was shattered. The only light in the room was the bedside lamp and the moonlight. The alarm clock on the bedside table a reminder of the late night.
Head in her hands, your girlfriend groaned as you shouted at her. Maria understood why you were furious with her, why you were demanding for her to tell you why she had been distant. But she couldn’t bring herself to tell you.
“Just tell me why you’ve been so distant.” You shouted, watching Maria curl into herself and rest against the headboard. It was as if she wasn’t even listening to you, your words going over her head. It frustrated you endlessly to know you weren’t being heard.
“Are you even listening to me?” You demanded, exhaustion beginning to catch up with you. Sitting down on the ottoman near the bed, giving Maria the distance you were sure she wanted. After all, she was the one staying away from you.
“I am,” Maria answered, her voice tired and raspy.
You raised an eyebrow, expecting her to continue, but she didn’t. Glancing at her arm supporting her head, you noticed a large gash on her arm from a recent mission. Eyes widening, you got up and reached forwards to see it better. The cut was deep and badly stitched up, probably Maria’s work.
The brunette pulled away quickly, glaring at you and hiding the cut under her sleeve, looking away. When you tried to reach for it again, she told you to stop and began to get off the bed to leave.
“Stop pushing me away!” You shouted, reaching out for her other hand and pulling her back on the bed.
Maria could have pulled away and left like she always did. But a part of her was exhausted, tired of pushing you away when all she wanted was to be with you. It was breaking her to do this, to be away from you.
“I can’t stay.” She said, voice broken as she looked down at her hands. The gash on her forearm still bleeding as she pulled the sweatshirt over to cover it.
“Why?” You asked softly, trying not to scare her away.
Her posture relaxed, she turned to face you. Blue eyes bloodshot and swimming with tears. All you wanted was to comfort her, but you couldn’t. She would push you away, again.
“A few weeks ago,” Maria began, biting her lip as she began to word it. You hummed, urging her to continue.
“I found this anonymous threat on your phone,” Maria licked her lips, taking in a deep breath as she met your gaze. Her eyes clouded with tears. She hastily reached up and wiped the tears.
“It threatened your life if I didn’t leave.”
“What?” You asked, incredulous she had hidden this from you.
Maria nodded, clenching her jaw and taking a deep breath. It had taken her weeks to get rid of the threat, let alone find it. She looked away from you, unable to see the pure hurt in your eyes. It made a little more sense now, why she had been pushing you away, why she had been going out of the compound more often.
Maria had been trying to protect you, even though it was hurting her.
“Maria, why did you hide this from me?” You asked, sighing and moving closer to her. Holding her good hand and moving to sit on the bed near her legs, not touching her.
“I just,” She sighed, running a hand through her hair and biting her lip. “I wanted to protect you.”
You smiled softly, understanding why she made her choices. All she wanted was to protect you. You just wish she had done it without pushing you away.
“By pushing me away?” You tilted your head to the side. Hooking one finger under her chin, you guided her to look at you. A tear had slipped from her blue eyes. You wiped it away with your thumb, stroking her cheekbone gently.
“I thought it was for the best.” She murmured, leaning into your touch.
Maria had missed it, missed you, more than she could ever imagine. Regrets filled her, she should never have pushed you away, she should’ve told you what was happening. But she didn’t. The consequences had played out right in front of her but she did nothing.
“You are an idiot sometimes.” You remarked, chuckling to yourself and leaning towards her.
The bedsheets moved towards the side as you kissed her forehead, sitting beside her. The moonlight from the window illuminated your face, reflecting in your eyes. Maria swore it caused her to fall in love with you all over again.
“I’m still your idiot, right?” Maria asked, resting her head on your shoulder.
Her biggest insecurity voiced seemed easier now it was done. If you broke up with her, she wouldn’t blame you, she would blame herself for everything.
“You’re still my idiot.” You confirmed, kissing the top of her head and joining your hand into hers.
The cut on her forearm seemed to make sense, she probably got it while trying to get the anonymous messenger. But you needed to take care of it eventually.
“I’m sorry,” Maria murmured, lifting her head to look at you.
You turned around, your nose touching hers. Her blue eyes seemed brighter in the moonlight. It looked almost magical, you weren’t sure if it was an illusion or a trick, but you didn’t want it to stop.
“Just, tell me next time,” You sighed, resting your arm on her shoulder, thumb stroking her cheekbone. Maria leaned into your touch again, eyes fluttering at the feeling.
“Without you,” You whispered, leaning in, lips touching hers.
Maria’s eyes fluttered shut against yours, sighing into you. Her body leaned further into yours, wanting, needing to be close to you.
“I’m lost.” You murmured, treasuring the feeling you’d lost for so long.

“Joy, this is a very bad idea, if we're seen leaving school at this time, we'll be suspended.” You said as your friend pulled you down the corridor to the stairs leading to the first floor where there was an exit to the school garden.
“Sure, and where are they going to send us? We live here, (Y/N), they cannot suspend us because our parents pay for us to stay here and not in our homes.” She whispered, looking from side to side, being careful not to catch anyone's attention. “And today is Friday, we should enjoy our teenage years a little while we still have one, or we'll end up like Mrs. Fritz, unhappy at age 45, with a house full of cats to feed, waiting for death.”
“Okay, and where do you intend to go? The college is in the middle of nowhere, remember? There's only forest on all sides. The city is very far.”
“Taehyung is waiting for us at the entrance of the school. We just need to run.” She said and you rolled your eyes. You didn’t like to do wrong things, at least not anymore.
The last time you did something wrong, you were sent to that boarding school as your father's punishment. But being honest with yourself, you would rather stay there than to be forced to see your father taking a different woman to your home every day. You and your father had lived alone since your mother decided divorce him and marry a richer man. Your father spent most of his time working, or drinking in bars. You had lost count of how many times he had come home drunk and yelled at you, saying that it was all your fault, that your mother had left him was your fault, and when he was sober, even knowing what he had done , he acted as if nothing had happened. Your father had never done anything to physically hurt you, he just screamed how useless you were.
So when he decided he would send you to a boarding school after he had picked you up at the police station one early morning, you couldn’t feel any more relieved to be able to get away from him. You loved him, he was your father after all, but you didn’t want to go through all that humiliation any more. You'd miss your old friends, but it was better that way.
It was two years since you were there, and Joy was literally your best friend, she was the first to talk to you when you arrived and introduced you to all her friends, and they eventually became your friends too. Of all of them, Taehyung was the closest to you, he treated you like a younger sister although you have the same age, but Joy always said he had a crush on you, but you never listened, Joy always spoke too much. But you couldn’t deny that Taehyung was a handsome boy, he had those innocent, sincere eyes and that contagious smile. He was tall and always affectionate. But you would never see him otherwise.
After you reached the school gate, running away from all the night guards, you and Joy jumped on the red Taehyung’s convertible and he sailed away from there.
“Girls, you are stunning.” The blonde said smiling at the two who smiled back. You wore black slacks with some ripped, a white top and leather boots. Joy already wore a plaid mini-skirt with a red top with black boots. She always liked showing off more than you and you were okay with it.
"Where are we really going?" You asked after a few minutes on the road. Taehyung looked at you in the rearview mirror and Joy turned back, smiling at you, and did not even have to say anything to let you know where you were going. “Please don’t tell me we're going to Hell hound.”
“Oh yeah, baby.”
“Did you go crazy? They say that place is super dangerous, full of regulars gangs, and dangerous people. They said that many people were murdered and raped inside. Not to mention all the times that the police invaded that place and arrested drug dealers. And fuck, we're underage, if we try to get in there, we’ll get in trouble and...”
“Chill out, doll.” Taehyung said laughing and stretching his arm back, touching your knee, trying to calm you down. “We'll be fine. Nothing will happen to us. There's a lot of underage kids there, we're probably going to find half the school there, they all use fake IDs, but I have someone who's going to get us in there without us needing it. Just stay in ours, we will have no problems, okay? You can trust me.”
"If I die, I'll come back and kill you." You said leaning back and crossing you arms, pouting, which made the boy laugh.
“We have a deal.”
Taehyung really had someone to put them into the Pub without asking for identity or asking questions, which led you to think that he could only have bribed the securities, because money wasn’t a problem for him, since his father was one of the richest in the country. As soon as you entered the bar, you noticed how dark it was inside. You stopped to watch the dance floor and some tables around it. People danced rubbing each other and you didn’t know if you felt claustrophobic or happy to have agreed to go out with your friends. You've never been a fan of crowds. As you went down the stairs to the floor, you found yourself facing some of your classmates, many of them hadn’t even seen you since they were too busy eating someone propped up on the walls, getting drunk or using drugs. And those who saw you three just nodded and continued what they were doing.
Some people bumped into you and forced you to get even closer to Taehyung who was in front, leading the way.
The worst part of the parties for you were the drunks. Sober men can’t hear a no, so imagine drunk men? You hated it. You hated being touched without your permission. In fact, all women hated it.
Somehow, by the time they got to the liquor counter, Taehyung got some drinks for you, and even if you were not a big fan of alcoholic drinks, you gladly accepted it. You sat at a table facing the dance floor and you kept quiet listening to the two of them chat while you watched the place. It didn’t seem as dangerous as everyone said, just a little promiscuous and full of drug users, which really didn’t matter to you, you didn’t care about the lives of others unless they were your friends'.
While you were steeped in thoughts, you felt a chill, as if something was about to happen. You started looking sideways, searching for something you didn’t know what it was, until your eyes fell on a man, which made you totally lose your breath and choke. He had his black hair thrown back, and he was leaning against the wall under the stairs, across the room, almost hiding in the dark. He had his arms folded across his chest and his head tilted to the side. He wore an all-black outfit, from his blouse to his shoe. And he was looking at you.
It was hard to describe in words what you felt when you could even feel the intensity of his gaze on you, and what your body felt when his eyes passed through you. Your entire body warmed and involuntarily you squeezed your thighs, feeling your clit throb. God, what is this?
“I want to dance.” Joy said and suddenly you were being pulled onto the dance floor, losing sight of that man.
“Why don’t you take Taehyung?"
"Because Taehyung is a man and if I rub myself on him while I'm dancing, the guys here will think he's my boyfriend."
“If they see you rubbing yourself in a girl, they'll think you're a lesbian.” You said it loud enough for her to hear, and she laughed.
“Well, men have a fetish with two women dancing sensuously together, whether they're lesbians or not. So do me a favor and dance sensually so I can get a fuck tonight, or you'll have to put up with me masturbating in the bedroom for the rest of the month. Again.”
"You're a bitch."
"I know, honey, I know."
And Joy was right, two girls dancing together call more attention than a girl dancing alone, but you didn’t like the looks you were getting from some men standing around. As soon as a man approached you, you stepped back as he approached Joy. He was very handsome, was her style, so it was not long before the two of them were dancing and kissing in the middle of the dance floor. The music was very sexy and you loved to dance alone in your bedroom, pretending to be a sensual dancer, but you had no ounce of courage to dance the way you wanted to in the midst of all those people. Feeling uncomfortable there, you decided to get out of the crowd and go to the bar or look for Taehyung. But as soon as you moved, you spotted that same boy who was propped up under the stairs. You were hypnotized by him again.
He pushed away from the wall and all the other people in the room began to move in slow motion as he walked confidently toward you, not taking his eyes off you, not even looking where he stepped.
The sensual beats of music just helped you run out of air each time he got one step closer to you.
Push a little further on the edge
And it was closer.
Crawl a little further on the bed, babe
And closer.
I'm burning up, yeah, all I see is red
As soon as he was under the light that lit the dance floor, you can see him better and you were definitely right in feeling horny, aroused and intimidating at the same time, he was simply the most handsome man you had ever seen in life.
She said: Fuck me like I'm famous I said: Okay
“Breathe.” His voice said when he was very close to you, and only then you see that you had forgotten to breathe. Your cheeks burn. You felt like an inexperienced virgin, gasping for breath at the sight of a handsome man. You tried to open your mouth to say something, but the intensity with which he looked at you was making you unable to say anything. “I'm Jungkook.”
“(Y/N).” You answered lower than you should and didn’t know if he had heard because of the loud music, but he smiled and repeated your name, making melody to your ears. You've never been so fond of hearing your name come out of someone else's mouth.
“You don’t seem to be enjoying the party.” He said, looking you up and down slowly. "And you don’t seem to like dancing either."
“I like to dance…"
“Its not what it looked like a few seconds ago.” He said moving his eyes from you to Joy who was busy kissing a guy and then looked back at you. “You don’t seem the type who likes attention.”
“How do you know?" You asked, intrigued.
"The way you walk, you move in a way as if you don’t want to touch anyone, you have good moves to dance, but don’t let go of it with fear that draws much attention to you and I saw how quickly you moved away from all the guys who were trying hit on you. You're wearing black and white, neutral colors, colors that don’t draw attention. And you've arranged your hair in a way that makes it easier to hide your face when you're ashamed.” He said and you lowered your head, trying to hide the redness in your cheeks. “Just like you’re doing right now.”
"You seem to be very perceptive.” You raised your head trying to stand firm and not tremble beneath that man's gaze. "I don’t like crowded places."
"If you don’t like crowded places, then why did you came here?" He asked without taking his eyes from yours. You shrugged.
“My friends wanted to get out of the ... routine.” You answered. "They wanted to have fun in other ways.”
"You don’t look like you're having fun. That's not fair.” Jungkook licked his lips, almost making you stop breathing again, and looked around as if looking for someone. Soon after he looked at you and pointed in one direction. When you looked, you saw Joy walking away with that boy. And as soon as he pointed to another direction, you saw Taehyung sitting at one of the tables with a girl on his lap. You definitely were not amused watching your friends leave to be with other people. Wait, how did he know you knew Taehyung?
You turned to him with a frown and he looked at you with an unshakable expression.
“How did you ...”
"I saw you coming in with them."
“That's kind of bizarre.” You said, and he laughed, making you delighted by his laughter.
"It's not bizarre. I just got interested in you, shouldn’t I?”
You bit your lips and saw his eyes darken, staring at your mouth. He bit the corner of his mouth before approaching your ear, making your whole body shiver.
"Do you want to get out of here? We can talk in my car.”
"Don’t get me wrong, Jungkook, but we just met and I don’t know if I can trust you …"
“I understand.” He said with a disgruntled sigh, you really thought you had spoiled your chances with him, but then he reached into his pocket, took a key ring, and flung it over the people, across the dance floor. You stared wide-eyed, surprised at his action. “Well, I just threw my car keys away and I doubt I'll find them so soon, so now there's no way I can open my car, throw you in the trunk and kidnap you.”
“You're crazy.” You laughed out loud, still not believing what he had done. That was something. He was handsome, looked sweet and polite. What could go wrong? You nodded, giving him a smile.
Jungkook then wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you close as he guided you toward the exit, pushing away anyone who accidentally or purposely approached you. As you left the pub, you walked a few yards to the side of the bar, where there was the parking lot and a black Mustang parked a few feet from where Taehyung parked his car.
You two sat on the hood of the car and started talking like two friends, getting to know each other. It was already past midnight and during the conversation, you discovered some things about Jungkook. He was 23 years old, he was mechanic, had his own car workshop downtown, he was a good student at school and received letters from major universities but denied all, not wanting to spend four years of his life studying and then spend the rest of it behind of some table. Jungkook wanted to live, and as he liked cars, he had decided that he would start his own business. He was not from there, but lived for almost two years in the city. His parents lived in the countryside.
“I don’t have much to talk about me. My story is very boring." You said without taking your eyes off your hands that were on your lap. His hand came to rest on top of yours, making your attention turn to him. He looked at you sweetly, almost innocently, smiling shyly at you.
“I'm sure your story can be anything but boring.” He said it much lower than when you were at the party, since there were no loud songs and no thunderous noises to disturb your hearing. His voice was as soft and sweet as his smile. His fingers began to caress the back of your hand as he still stared at you.
“The story can be long ...”
“I have all the time in the world.”
You then told about what had happened to your family. You told how your mother left you, how things went after she left, how your father acted around you, how many nights you wished you hadn’t even been born. You told him how you became shy at school, how you pulled away most of your friends, and told about the night that ended up at the police station. Jungkook listened to you intently, ignoring the looks of some people walking through the parking lot.
"Has he ever hit you?" He asked with a certain tone of irritation in his voice, which went unnoticed by you.
“No, never, but the way things were, it wasn’t going to take long for that to happen.” You said laughing sarcastically. Jungkook took a deep breath and released the air slowly, looking away, clawing at his jaw. “But let's not talk about it. Tell me about your car workshop.”
So you continued to talk for a long time. And you couldn’t deny that you was attracted to him and him for you, so when you felt an ounce of courage while he talked about something, you leaned over and kissed him. He didn’t look surprised by your gesture, because he immediately reached into your hair and deepened the kiss. It was so intense you could barely breathe and it was so good that you couldn’t contain your moans as he pulled your hair.
In a few seconds he had come down from the hood and was now between your legs, one hand in your hair and the other over your breast, and neither of you cared to be in an open-air parking lot, you were more worried about the horny you were feeling.
"You shouldn’t have thrown your keys away." You whispered as soon as his lips left yours to kiss your neck. Your hands went to his hair and he laughed against your neck.
"There's another way to open a car, my dear."
”Then do it." You said raising his face. "Or fuck me against this car, now."
"I think I'm going to fuck you against this car. It seems more exciting to me.” He said thrusting his hand between your legs and stroking your clit over your pants. You moaned and pressed your nails around his neck, because the only thing you needed now was his dick inside you. “It looks like you're enjoying the caresses.”
“You have no idea, Jungkook.”
“(Y/N)!” Taehyung's voice caught your eye and you and Jungkook looked away, seeing your friend walking towards you. He looked at Jungkook from top to bottom, frowning before looking back at you and throwing his hands up as he stood beside the car.
“What the fuck are you doing out here? I looked for you everywhere. I was worried.”
“She is with me. You have nothing to worry about.” Jungkook replied staring Taehyung that stared back.
"And who the hell are you?"
“This is Jungkook, we met at the pub...”
“And you thought it would be a good idea to come to a dark, empty place with a guy you just met, (Y/N)? Are you crazy?” He didn’t even let you finish speaking before giving the sermon. You opened your mouth to answer, but he held up his hand to signal you to remain silent. “Let's just go back inside and get Joy. We are leaving.” He then turned his back and started walking toward the Pub.
“What if I don’t want to leave?” You asked standing up. Taehyung stopped abruptly and turned to you with frowns, as if he had not understood what you had said. “What if I want to stay for a few more hours? You will force me to go with you?”
“What the hell are you talking about? You said yourself that you didn’t want to come here, that this pub was full of junkies and violent people, but three seconds ago you were letting this stranger get his hand on your body.” He said loudly, almost screaming.
“Yes, I'm letting this stranger touch my body, and yes, I didn’t want to come here, but I came because you wanted me to, and now that I'm having fun you want me to leave?” You answered it in the same tone of voice. Jungkook leaned against the car and folded his arms, watching Taehyung's next actions, he was ready to intervene if necessary.
“Guys, why did you leave me alone in there?” Joy appeared out of nowhere, hugging her body because of the chill of dawn. Her hair was tousled and she had no more lipstick in her mouth. “Can we leave? I'm tired.”
“Sure, we're going.” Taehyung said without taking his eyes off of you as Joy entered the convertible. He was waiting for you to do the same, but instead you took two steps back approaching Jungkook and crossing your arms.
"You can go, I will not go now." You said, and even though it was dim, you knew Taehyung's face was red at that moment.
"I will not leave you alone here …"
"I'm not alone, I'm with Jungkook, and you don’t boss me, Taehyung. I'll leave when I want.”
He was annoyed, irritated, ever since Taehyung knew you, he had this protective spirit, he felt he had to protect you and when he couldn’t, he felt helpless, and that made him furious. Taehyung glanced toward Jungkook, who was in the same position as before, but now he had a more serious look on his face, and stared at Taehyung as if challenging him to say something.
"If you hurt her, I swear I'll come after you."
Jungkook let out a loud laugh, throwing his head back and chuckling at the boy's failed attempt to intimidate him.
“Yeah, yeah, just go, bro. Stop embarrassing yourself.” He said, waving his hand at the boy who took one last look at you before getting in the car and getting out of there. You took a deep breath, hated fighting with your friends but you was tired of always living for other people. You wanted to live for you now.
Reminding that Jungkook was still there, you stared at him with cheeks burning, ashamed that he had witnessed it all.
“I'm sorry... That ended the whole mood." You said putting your hand on your neck and looking away from him.
“It's okay, don’t worry.” He said holding her chin and making her look at him. He was smiling carefree, as if it hadn’t done effect on him. "There's a snack bar two blocks from here. We can go there, have a milk shake and eat something. Then I'll take you home. Or I can call you a taxi if you prefer.”
“I'll take the Milk Shake." You said smiling at him. "But only if it's chocolate."
It had been four months since you met Jungkook, and every opportunity you had to get out of that school and go somewhere else with him, you did. With that, you ended up moving away from your friends because even though you could only use the cell phone once a week for fifteen minutes, Jungkook had bought a new one for you so you could communicate with him, so all your free time, dinner, breaks, you were talking to him.
"What are you doing here, you freak?" You whispered laughing at the sight of the boy leaning against the wall behind the school building, waiting for you. He smoked a cigarette and was relaxed as usual. It was almost five in the afternoon when you received his message, saying that he would be waiting for you behind the building, on the north side of the school, where you used to go to jump over the walls without being caught. One of the only places that wasn’t monitored by cameras. "If they catch you here, you'll be arrested."
"They will not catch me." He said holding your waist and pulling you close to him. “Besides, you worth the risks.” Then he kissed you, a calm, passionate kiss. He dropped his cigarette on the floor and used both hands to hold your face and caress it at the same time. "I missed you." He said between the kiss, lowering one hand to your waist and squeezing it. He bit your lip, making the fire inside you burn.
"Me too." You whispered as he slowly turned his body, placing you back against the wall, lowering one hand to your thigh and lifting it, placing it on his waist. "But I don’t have much time. In fifteen minutes I need to be in the gym." You said as his kisses touched your neck, causing you to roll your eyes and hold yourself so you didn’t moan.
“So I have to make you cum fast." He said putting his hand between your legs, inside your panties, caressing your clitoris that was already swollen and soaked with your juice. You gasped and grabbed Jungkook's arm, preventing him from moving. He looked at you with a sassy look, waiting for you to say something.
"You know I can’t be silent. Someone will catch us."
"No one will get us, baby. Don’t you trust me?"
"With my life." You answered without hesitation, and he smiled, leaning forward and kissing you. Then he kissed your cheek, your ear, your neck, your breasts over your T-shirt, until he knelt in front of you and gave you a wicked look before lifting your thigh and placing on his shoulder, lifting your skirt, pulling your panties to side and start to eat you out. You immediately covered your mouth and threw your head back, your body shuddering as you felt Jungkook's tongue caressing the full extent of your cunt. Your other hand went into Jungkook's hair and you moved your hips against his mouth, unable to control yourself. You needed to come.
“You're so sweet.” He whispered against your clit and his tongue licked again, spurring you even more as he stared into your eyes. His free hand gripped one of your thighs, increasing the strength he used and the speed of his tongue. You felt your cunt pulsing, You was reaching the apex. Jungkook seemed to focus on one specific point, which made you let out a hoarse groan and finally cum as the spasms spread through my body. You closed your eyes as you felt his tongue wandering around your entrance, sucking all your juice. Your mind cleared, your muscles relaxed and you felt good.
He stood up and kissed you, hugging your still shaking body.
"I love you," you whispered as he let you lean your forehead against his chest. Jungkook smiled and stroked your hair. That was the first time you'd said that.
"I know." He said and you laughed punching his arm and moving away from him. He laughed and took a step back.
"Idiot, I'm serious."
"Me too." He laughed approaching again and using his large hands to hold your face. And then he looked serious and stared your eyes with the same intensity he had whenever he looked into the depths of you, as if he looked at your soul. “I love you too, my lady.” And he kissed you again. "And I want to see you tonight."
"Same time?" You asked with closed eyes, delighting in the short, slow kisses he gave in your lips.
"Yes, I'll be waiting."
"Okay, now go, or you'll get us both in trouble." You said pushing him away. Jungkook looked indignantly at you.
"You use me and now you throw me away. Women are all the same." You laughed at his failed attempt to be innocent. You gave him a quick kiss.
"See you later, asshole." And so you turned away. Jungkook watched you walk away.
"I cannot wait for this."
You were in love with him in a way you couldn’t explain, you thought about him all day, wanted him all day. You wanted to be with him all the time, because Jungkook was intense, he was relentless, he gave you life, and that was what you loved him the most.
Everything was going well until the day you were discovered by school security. You and Jungkook were in the car, a few yards from the entrance of the school, you were on his lap in the backseat, rolling in his lap and kissing him when a strong light struck your face and you two looked to the side, seeing one of the school security guards there, knocking at the door and ordering you to get out.
That was weird. The security guards only patrolled the perimeter of the school, the gates and walls inside, there was no way they knew you were there. And your suspicions were confirmed when the same security officer said that someone had made an anonymous denunciation of an out-of-school student. And you were already sure who did it.
The security guard woke the principal to tell him what had happened, and he said with a furious expression that he would talk to you the next morning. When you reached the bedroom, Joy was asleep on her stomach in bed. You could wake her up and question why she had told them about your hang out with Jungkook. but if you did, you would yell at her and wake up the entire dorm, putting you in even more trouble, so you waited the next morning.
“Why did you do that? I thought you were my friend. Why did you tell him? "You asked the girl who was confused by both her drowsiness and your questions.
“I told you I didn’t say anything, (Y/N). I swear. The only person I told was Taehyung, because he wouldn’t stop asking where you were and I had to tell him, but I swear it was only for him.”
It was when you connected the points, if she didn’t say anything and only told Taehyung, then he was the only one who could have told the security. You knew he had some anger at Jungkook, but you didn’t understand why. Of all the time you studied there, those were the happiest months of your life, so why would he ruin it?
You turned your back on Joy and left the room already wearing your school clothes, heading toward the men's dormitory where girls were barred, but you were already really screwed, so you just don’t give a fuck.
As soon as you reached the bedroom door, you punched it hard until a sleepy, irritated Taehyung opened the door. The moment he saw you there, his face softened, but after seeing your condition, he knew he had fucked it all up.
“(Y/N)...”
"Why did you do that?" You asked before you let him make an excuse. He sighed and left the room closing the door behind him.
“Look, I'll give you my reasons, but it has to be later. You need to get out of here, if the monitors catch you ...”
“No, Taehyung, I want to know now.” You raised your voice. “Why the hell do you hate Jungkook so much? Why do you want me to break up with him? And why the hell did you tell the security guard that I was with him last night? Are you aware of what this will cause to me?”
"I don’t trust that guy…"
“You don’t have to trust him, you asshole, I have, he's my boyfriend, not yours.” You screamed furiously, your face turning red. “Stop intruding on my life and make the decisions for me, Taehyung!”
"(Y/N), he can be dangerous." He shouted back and some of the students left their rooms, curious to know what was happening. “Look, I've been researching, asking some people, and he might be involved in drug trafficking and even murder. Many people on the north side of the city are afraid to even pass near him because they say he is extremely violent.”
"You went out asking questions about my boyfriend? Throughout the city?" You asked, taking a step back, not believing what you were hearing. “You must be kidding me.”
“Yeah, I did it. I needed to keep you safe ...”
“No Taehyung! You needed to keep me single for one day finally build up the courage and say you like me.” You screamed furiously toward him. Taehyung was paralyzed, his eyes wide for a few moments, simply without reaction or words for that moment. “You want me single because you want me for you and you don’t want me to be someone else's.”
“Where you...”
“Joy told me." You interrupted him and he was pale. “I hadn’t believed in the beginning, because to me you were only treating me as your best friend, but now I understand that you want me to break up with Jungkook to stay with you, but this will not happen Taehyung, because what I feel for him, I will never feel for you.” You hissed bitterly. You were so hurt with him that you wanted him to get hurt too, and from his gaze, you had managed to do that.
“You shouldn’t be here, young lady." The dorm monitor, who was also a student, said, and you turned to him in disgust.
“Fuck you." You exclaimed and turned away, heading to the stairs and out of there. As soon as you stepped into the garden and walked toward the women's building, one of the students said that the Principal was looking for you. You sighed and went to the principal's office, hesitating to go in because you knew what would happen from then on.
As you entered the room, you were surprised to see your father sitting in the armchair in front of the boardroom table. He was red, the expression on his face was the same as he used have when cursed you and blame you for everything bad in his life, but this time he seemed to be sober.
You sat in the armchair beside him, not daring to look at him, just listening to what the principal had to say. He said that your behavior was unacceptable, that leaving school out of the allowed hours was against the rules and dating as well. He quoted everything he had to say and said that he wouldn’t just kick you out because you was a good student and had the best grades but would suspend you for a week. He allowed his father to take you home that week, and he just nodded, not saying a word to the principal.
Once you were released, the principal said you should go to your room and pack your bags, and so you did. You and your father walked side by side until you got to your room. When you opened the door, he pushed you tightly inside, making you lose your balance and fall on your knees on the floor.
“It was for that I sent you here?” He screamed, slamming the door behind him and advancing against you who had no chance to defend yourself when he grabbed your hair and pulled you violently up, making you moan with pain. “Did you come here to fuck with thugs? Hmm?” He threw you violently against the bed, banging your back against the wall and your head on the headboard. "You're a bitch just like your mother."
“This is not true.” You said it trembling, forcing yourself to sit and brush your hair off your face, trying not to stutter, but then you fell back down when he hit your face with a slap, throwing you back on the bed, making you scream and not hold back the tears.
“Shut your fucking mouth. You're never going to change, it's always going to be this bitch that only brings me problems. What is the difficulty of you not getting into trouble, (Y/N)? Do you have any mental problems that keep you from being rational?” He screamed and you cried, with your hand on the cheek that he had hit the slap, curled in the bed. “Do you think it's fun to go out there doing shit so I have to fix it later?”
“Dad...” You started to speak, but he grabbed your arm, squeezing it hard, lifting you brutally, making you even more desperate to see the furious look in his eyes. You had never seen him so violent. He'd never leaned a finger against you to hurt you, so why was he doing it now?
“You and I have a lot to talk about this week, you whore. So you better stop crying and start packing your bag before I lose my patience and drag you out of here by the hair, without any belongings.” He said between his teeth and pushed you back to the floor once more. So he turned his back and left the room, slamming the door behind him and you shrank on the floor, crying, feeling the pain in your body and in your heart. Why was that happening? You had done nothing to deserve it. Why did he seem to hate you so much? What had you done to him?
The cell phone that Jungkook had given you, began to vibrate beneath your pillow, and you knew that at that moment, he was the only one you wanted to talk to. You raised your arm and reached under your pillow, answering the phone, sniffling and sobbing.
“Love, what happened?” He asked from the other end of the line and listening to his voice only made you cry even more. Your chest was aching, you felt lonely, helpless and certainly in danger. “(Y/N), why are you crying? What is happening? Where are you?” He started bombarding you with questions and you could hear his keys on the other side.
“Jungkook.” You only managed to say his name before breaking into tears again. You heard the car door slamming across the line.
“It’s okay, baby, I’m coming to you. Stay where you are, okay? I’ll come to you. Don’t worry, don’t cry, your Jungkook is coming.” He said and before you could try to say something, or that he could hang up, your dad came screaming back into the room, making you scream too and crawl away from him, squeezing the phone between your fingers, afraid he'd take away the only thing that was giving you security at that moment.
“Who are you talking to, you slut? I told you to pack your things.” He yelled as he yanked the cell phone out of your hand, making you moan at the force he used, hurting your wrist. You were desperate and could hardly breathe, your body was shaking too much for you to react so you just started screaming for help and cringed once more. You were horrified at everything that was going on, scared, confused, and just wanted your father to get away from you. He looked at the phone screen, seeing that the call was still active. “Are you the thug who was eating my daughter, your bastard?” The only thing he could hear from the other side was the sound of the car moving, followed by Jungkook’s cold voice.
“You are dead.”
So the call dropped and at the same moment, two security guards who had heard your screams entered the bedroom, then pulled your father away from you, who started protesting in shouts that they should let him go. As they walked away from the room, you finally breathed again and stood up, legs trembling, hugging your body and walking slowly out of the room where some of the girls began to appear and looked wide-eyed at you.
“Oh my god, (Y/N).” Joy approached you, intending to hug you, but you pulled away from her, holding the cry again, a lump forming in your throat. As you walked down the stairs, with all the female dormitory students looking at you, you could hear your father's screams from the security guards outside the building. As soon as you left, the students watching your father now looked at you. Among them was Taehyung who had wide eyes and put his hand to his mouth, horrified. He didn’t hesitate to move toward you, to comfort you, but you pushed him hard back.
“This is all your fault.” You shouted with all your strength to him, making his eyes fill with water.
“(Y/N)...” He started to speak, but the Mustang's engine roar could be heard, and you looked at the road through the forest, watching Jungkook's car come in with everything, knocking over the guardrails of the secondary gate and skidding on the wet garden grass. He stormed out of the car, slamming the door and striding toward the crowd at the foot of the staircase. He had fists clenched and a killer look in his eyes. You had never seen him like that, and honestly, he was scaring you. As his eyes hit yours, he frowned and ran toward you, just as you did, burying yourself in his chest, tearing into tears once more. Jungkook pressed you against his chest and stroked your hair as his eyes scanned the place, trying to identify who had done that to you. That was when he saw the man shouting at the security guards, his voice the same as the man on the phone. He seemed to be blind at the moment.
Jungkook released your body, making you open your eyes, missing his embrace and passed among the students, shoving them all violently away from his way, before approaching the security guards who were on their backs, distracted trying to contain their father, and overtook them, hitting the man's nose with a sharp punch that fell immediately on his back.
The security guards tried to hold Jungkook, but he managed to knock them down too.
“Do you think you can hurt her and not get punished for it, you fucking asshole?” He screamed in a menacing voice, making everyone step back. He then hit a kick in his stomach, making him moan in pain and you cover his mouth, stiffing a scream. “I'll teach you to never touch what is mine.”
And before he could strike another blow, Taehyung stepped in front of him, pushing him back. Jungkook didn’t hesitate to advance against Taehyung as well, and the two began to roll on the floor, exchanging punches and blows. And most of the time, it was Jungkook who hit him. He stood over Taehyung, immobilizing him with his legs, holding him tightly by the neck and began to strike blows against his face.
"Jungkook." You called for him and he stopped his fist in the air, looking over his shoulder at you. You were scared, destroyed. You'd never seen him be so violent with anyone, so that scene was shocking.
He took a deep breath, as if controlling his killer instinct, and stood up, walking on his back for a few seconds, watching the fallen men on the floor, before turning and approaching you, wrapping his arms around your back and beneath your legs, carrying you toward the car where he put you in the passenger seat and got in, driving away from there.
The way to his house was quiet, he did not say a word and you did not either. You were too shaken to say anything. In your head, the images of your father beating you and Jungkook spanking Taehyung looped in your head and that made you wonder if you could trust him, if he would not do you, the same as he did with others.
As he parked in front of the house, he was the first to leave the car and opened the door for you, holding out his hand and waiting for you to pick it up. Still sobbing, you held his and got out of the car, being guided by him inside. You then paused for a moment, not knowing what to do.
"Baby." Jungkook stood behind you, hugging you from behind and placing his chin propped on your shoulder. It was strange how with him, you calm down easily, even after what had happened.
"I want to take a shower." You whispered and he nodded, releasing you. You then walked to the bathroom and leaned against the door. You took off your clothes, feeling the pain in your body, and tossing them to the floor. You turned on the shower and went under the warm water. Still not believing what was happening, you started to cry, sliding to the floor, sitting down, cowering and crying compulsively. Lamenting everything. And without even realizing it, Jungkook was joining you, still in his clothes, sitting down beside you and pulling you into his lap, letting you cry as the water washed away your tears of pain and betrayal.
“It's okay, baby.” He whispered to you, kissing the top of your forehead, staring at the wall in front of him with dark, menacing eyes. "He'll never hurt you again, I promise.”
