HOW TO REQUEST

send it in through the inbox! thats all i really ask! comments and messages are far too easy to get lost, and an ask is so much easier to keep track of!

light spam is allowed though do understand that this blog is run by only one admin who juggles other blogs and irl stuff

this blog runs off of a queue system, 2 x reader posts a day usually (exception being if the queue gets too full then it will be bumped up accordingly), so keep that in mind! it may take a minute for your request to be posted!

WHAT I WILL WRITE

angst! fluff! platonic! poly! really im open to most things, so feel free to go ham! i'll let you know if something makes me uncomfortable!

maximum of 3 to 4 characters per request, unless its a request for the alphabet and trope prompts- only 1 character 3 prompts for those, that way is easier for masterlisting purposes

readers with traits! no real maximum so long as it leaves me some wiggle room to be creative! woo yeah! tall readers, readers who like a certain hobby, readers with a condition or maybe they like something or- you get the jist!

do note that some characters are strictly locked on platonic- canon child characters mostly. if theres a character i dont write romantic for or just cant write for xyz i will let you know!

WHAT I WRONT WRITE

no illegal stuff. no incest no underage. stuff like this. this is also purely a SFW blog, if you want NSFW you can ask me for my other blog so long as you have your age stated. NO concealed kink im not that dumb. i dont judge but please take it to the other blog

i do try to communicate when a request makes me uncomfortable. darker topics are allowed so long as its not "active" (ex. a reader who does SH and a requests asks to show them actively harming), though it also depends based off my mental health at the moment. generally always good to ask and be understanding

i do not do character based readers at the moment because fandom wiki is a nightmare to navigate. also dont do readers that are straight up ocs

Thank you so much! I wish it was easier to convert more of my stuff to be 3D printable, but my usual modeling style is not watertight in the slightest and disregards gravity entirely. 😆 3D modeling has always been really cool to me because there's so many different workflows depending on what you're trying to make. Keeps things from getting stale!

Speaking of differences, I feel like people don't tend to mention my coloring. :0 I think my line art usually steals the show, heh. I used to be a lot more conscious about color theory and shading when I was younger, but these days there's no thoughts, only vibes 😂

Ok the line, "even if it doesn't get better i hope you find happiness within it" hit me unexpectedly hard (in a good way). Any nice messages I get always means a ton to me, but while I don't seem to be able to articulate why at the moment, I think that line will stick with me for much longer than usual. Speaking more generally (this message just gave me a good excuse to talk, heh)- spoilers; the artist in my brain refuses to die. So after, like, a literal year of not touching it, I've started working again on a 3D modeling project that I started in 2021 that has been haunting me ever since. Been trying to redesign a robot OC of mine Rayner, and I'm really particular about wanting his joints to work in a physical space instead of bending the rules artistically. I'm Really bad at designing complex hard surface objects in flat 2D though. However, there's a reason artists tell you not to character design in 3D, and that's because it's slow, it's easy to lose design cohesion, and most importantly it just sucks, awful workflow. But I am Doing it. And while I was super stuck for years and almost developed a friggin phobia of the project, I am now Doing It. And it's actually working out this time. The 3D model itself is MILES from being done, but the design almost is, and while that's a boring end result for other people, it represents a huge milestone and accomplishment for me in many ways.

I've been drawing a little bit lately too! But I feel my social media hiatus has given me a healthier relationship with posting? Like I have a few doodles that I could either post now or post soon, but I don't feel the same pressure to anymore? Where even if I never post them, I think I'm fine with that. I've always thought I made art for myself, but that's not exactly true because I was also making art for the sake of sharing. And while I don't think there's anything wrong with that, I think being able to separate the two and be content with simply just creating is healthy. Also I'm still not as active on social media in general anymore which is probably healthier as well LOL.

So I'll prrrobably start posting again soon-ish now that I've broken this blog's posting silence? Not sure how to wrap this monologue up. My physical health problems are going to keep on probleming, but in terms of artistic fulfillment I've been in a much better place this past month, and that's a huge yeehaw from me 👍

Hi Ali hope you're feeling better soon you and the others do so much for the OC community with the prompts for special events. If we didn't have people like you we wouldn't have much of an oc community it feels like we are adrift now with so many key people not active etc. if you're still looking for face claims for 'problematic' OC how about Katie Douglas or Rain Spencer I feel they have those vibes

Okay let's address the sickness first bc that's no fun; I'm not really getting better, feels like I'm just kind of getting new and different symptoms everyday. Most of it probably has to do with the blockage in my ears/sinuses that isn't going away on its own. Unfortunately, I don't know how long it will take to fix (my Ear Nose and Throat doctors appointment isn't until Wednesday, and I didn't get a referral until the 4th doctor I saw) so I've had to start my summer job because I cannot afford not to work. DayQuil/NyQuil helps with most of whats happening to me (runny nose, sore throat, cough) but not at all with the hearing and I can't really hear ANYTHING unless it is being shouted directly into my ears... inconvenient considering I work in a library, we're not too worried about being quiet in this one but there's a lot of older people who can only talk so loud and people obviously try to keep a respectful volume. Hopefully its fixed soon bc not only is it inconvenient, but I really want to visit my best friend before she moves to San Diego except I cannot hear so we'd have absolutely no fun and it'd probably suck.

NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF; THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This means so much to me, I admit to being discouraged in recent years with participation dwindling so much but its something I really enjoy when it comes down to it and when I talk to @come-along-pond about feeling like I want to stop sometimes, she always encourages me to keep with it bc its fun for others and she knows I would be really upset if I actually did stop (bestie, love her so much).

I totally get what you mean about the big players disappearing, like 90% of the people I followed and obsessed over when I first joined the tumblr oc community don't post anymore, and from what I can tell don't write fanfics or make ocs at all anymore. Including the person who literally got me into writing oc fanfiction (I found them on Wattpad which I was part of WAY before Tumblr). I have also found myself drifting away from it because I'm so busy with life, but I'm still coming up with OCs like all the time. My problem with editing and writing when I DO have the time is I have such big ideas and they never get executed as good as I see them in my head so I often give up. I also have less and less close friends (thats not to say I have none at all) in the oc community bc we're all growing and changing as time goes on so it sort of fades to the back.

Anyways, I have a ton of event ideas but I'm not sure how well they'd be recieved so I'll probably do polls and shit after pride challenge. My goal is to complete and queue a bunch of posts before I go back to college in August so that the oc-challenges blog stays active and fun, and I don't stress about it while stressing over everything else.

Lastly, I've decided on Arasha Banks I think and I've changed Hadley's name. Thanks for the suggestions though! Katie's a good shout if she didn't look so young compared to the other PLL actresses (which she is in comparison but I'm more thinking about content), and Rain Spencer has pretty much the same problem (but such a cool name???).

Interpretation. i used to write daisy based on the agents of shield show! i no longer really do. i do still take some inspiration from her character in that show, but on the whole i am completely comic based. specifically i write her with her characterization from secret avengers, secret warriors(vol 1, not vol 2), and basically anything with her in it up until about 2015. i do still think she has inhuman shit going on, but it's complicated. she's a bit of her own thing. also, as much as i don't really use the show as the base for my interpretation anymore, she is still chinese-american, and the incident that caused her to destroy an entire village still occurred before she got adopted at seven months. afterwards, she was raised in louisiana by her adopted parents.

🚩🚩🚩 {soft vs hard blocking, people who selectively reply to one or two mutuals ~usually their hardcore ships~ and make others wait aeons, your least favourite fandom or oc type}

SOFT BLOCKING IS STUPID. Heres my thing with blocking in general, unless you are harassing me, making my space unsafe or uncomfortable, I block. Any other case, I unfollow. If you feel as if a mun, soft blocking is necessary because you dont want to interact with a blog feels a little silly? Like I only see popular muses who get endless interactions complain about having to soft block people when most people are interested in reading their writing/material. In those cases, its stupid because some abuse the power of blocking people. If you feel the need to do so, use hard blocks as a means to an end, soft blocking can cause alot of confusion to people who want to admire your material.

SELECTIVE DOESNT MEAN ONLY RESPOND TO 2 PEOPLE. This bothers the hell out of me. Me personally, if I go through the trouble of making a blog, making this my space, making tidbits and character information, maybe even a few verses if I am feeling spicy, I do it to be able to widen my audience. WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THE BLOG IF YOU ONLY RESPOND TO 2 PEOPLE?! Just roleplay on discord or privately at that point, theres no need to even keep the damn blog active since you dont use it! I dont want to invalidate anyone who does this but we can tell when you only respond to your favorite ship/person. This doesnt apply to blogs who run on a queue system or even those who only have muse for specific threads, I mean those who make the blog and scope out 2 people and no pass go after that. And not to mention your other mutuals can tell you dont give a shit about them due to not responding as quickly to them as you do your fav! And when you call them out on it, 'oH i LoVe OuR iNtErAcTiOnS!' Oh fuck off.

ANDROIDS AND SUPERHEROS NO. My least favorite fandom roleplay wise is both Marvel and Detroit Becoming Human. Those two fandoms in my experience have been allergic to roleplaying outside of their fandom/circle and its exhausting! Like I understand most people are used to their same friend group of roleplay buddies but they are the same ones that complain about lack of interactions! You can only do so many scenarios with the same few characters and after that it becomes monotonous! Venture out! Explore! Dont even get me started on the DBH fandom because they were full of literal assholes when I got into the fandom. Between them ignoring anyone who didnt play an android or being involved with drama or not being understanding of people JUST getting into the fandom, they can kick ROCKS. For the record, I met some pleasant people from both fandoms but I ran into more assholes than ever.

OCS CANNOT BE MARY SUES. Okay as a person who always roleplayed as an oc, theres plenty of takes I can have. I hate OC's that are played as mysterious but they are that way because of their creator refuses to write down their information. I hate OC's with a backstory that copies a canon characters to a T. Taking elements from them is different, for me, I take Rocky's origin story from superman, mannerisms taken from Rarity and early feminine culture, etc etc. Most OC creators dont know the difference between inspired and copied. I hate OC's that are perfect. Oh combat roleplays end quickly because they kill your muse in one shot. You hit them and it doesnt work. They attract everyone because they are perfect and beautiful and have no flaws! I hate OC's that use the same 5 faces as if their arent billions upon billions of faces in the world to use. Im one to talk since I use Instagram models but I am so SICK of people just using actors from a popular show because they know it would get clicks, its lazy and we can see through your laziness. I hate OC's that are children of a canon but dont respect the canon at all. "oh Dean Winchesters my dad but he hunts with me all of the time and takes me gun shopping and lets me drive baby and lets me-" THATS NOT DEAN AS A CHARACTER AT ALL! You can argue 'wElL hE mIgHt HaVe ChAnGeD sInCe ThE bAbY!' BULLSHIT. Dean wouldnt let Sam drive or take care of Baby at first, what in the hell makes you think his KID is exempt from that rule?! AND FARTHER MORE, THAT MAN HAS BEEN THROUGH HELL AND BACK AT THE EXPENSE OF BEING A KID WHOSE DAD HUNTED. WHY WOULD HE PUT HIS KIDS IN THE SAME SITUATION?!

Bonus tidbit. My hatred of DBH muses came from this one RK800 muse. Their blog was beautiful and I was new to Tumblr. I didnt know anything about the mutual system or how they would have their rules shown. They were the first blog that caught my eye so I began to interact with them. On one of the asks, they sent me a screenshot of their rules and called me an asshole for interacting with them since they were mutuals only. Wattpad didnt have a system like that so needless to say, that single interaction has haunted me. I dont like interacting with new blogs first most of the time due to that one sour experience. the end of an era

I wanted to thank you all, not only for all the notes of gratitude, encouragement, etc., in my inbox, but for being my faithful readers over the last ten years as I blundered around, answering asks, figuring things out on the fly, mistyping myself half a dozen times, and learning by “answering.” It’s been an incredible blessing for me to be part of your lives, and now, I hope, I have left behind enough of a resource, through my thousands of answered questions, my MBTI book, and my ongoing FunkyMBTI Blog, that you can be guided to your type and start the journey of self-development.

I want to say a few more things, but first, I’ll answer the burning questions that I know are going through your mind directly.

Does this mean no more character typings? No, it does not. I will continue updating FunkyMbti.com for the indefinite future, and those posts will automatically be ported over to this tumblr page, along with posts from Sixy Pixie (which I may expand to include general Enneagram posts/information/insights).

All it means is I am retiring from answering typing questions. I will still be active in various online communities, doing research, gathering information, and sharing it on my blogs. My interest in MBTI has waned since writing my book (which I consider the “achievement” of over a decade of work/research/learning), so the best way I know of is to move forward.

Does this mean I can’t request characters anymore? No, it does not. You can always contact me through FunkyMBTI.com’s contact page to make character requests. I have an ongoing list of characters people would like to see, and I hope to get around to most of them. (Such as, people want to see The OC, The Scream movies, and more Hollywood icons, such as Natalie Wood). I also have Sanditon, more Shadow and Bone typings, etc., coming.

How can I know about your Enneagram book and/or other books? Thank you for asking! You can either stay tuned here, since any announcement posts on my blog will update here, or you can join my mailing list to receive all my updates (of reviews, upcoming books, free book giveaways, and more).

Are you going to delete Funky on tumblr? No, it will stay up as long as tumblr survives, not only as a monument to my zillion hours of work, but to the thousands of people who braved the internet to ask me questions and allowed me to showcase my “Big Sister Energy.” Ha, ha. Seriously, though, I appreciate all the questions, comments, compliments, and submissions over the years, including the gigantic assortment of characters from shows/movies I may never watch.

What now? I will stock the queue for a few months and take time off, and then hopefully dig more into the Enneagram, since I think that has real potential to change people’s lives for the better.

Final Thoughts:

It seems fitting that I close “the end of an era” (as my ENFJ friend put it, when she heard about this) as I approach the end of a “decade” in my life, and a big “0” birthday. I can’t exactly recall how my journey started. I think I took one of those MBTI quizzes, shared by a friend on some social media website, got mistyped as an INTJ, and fell down a rabbit hole that took over my life for over a decade. I went through every possible type known to man (other than SP), and can now finally claim with authority to be an ENFP.

I made all the mistakes you are going to make, if you are just starting out on this journey of self-awareness – I listened to the wrong people, I took in the wrong information, I mistyped myself and others, I had to unlearn everything that made no sense, but along the way, I learned how to introspect and be present with myself. To pay attention to what I am doing, and why I am doing it, and that is the most valuable take-away from this experience. You can either go through life oblivious to your true self, or you can go through life friends with yourself, and aware of both your strengths and your weaknesses. I recommend the latter. It's hard but worth it.

Doing that for so long, getting used to being “wrong,” prepared me to read my first book on the Enneagram. And it changed my life. I knew I was a 6, that there was nothing “wrong” with me, that other people struggled with the same things I did. And my introspection started growing deeper. There were many ego battles along the way, denial of the aspects of 6 profiles that I didn’t want to admit to, followed by resignation and self-awareness (that I do that too, and it’s revolting!). But it’s a journey that I intend to walk on, for the rest of my life, and I’m glad to know these things. I wish I had known them sooner. I would have been a much better friend.

All of my current friends came to me through Funky. My friends in Sweden and Tennessee and Idaho and India and Philadelphia and Florida and Spain and Greece. I would not know them, had they not reached out to me, asked me a question, asked if we could e-mail, or helped me figure something out. Funky has been my “social” life for a decade. Some of them are still with me, even though one of them is not – Maddie, my beloved ENTP co mod, my zany, nutty, wild-hearted 793 “DJ” who could simultaneously make me laugh until I cried and drive me insane with frustration, passed away of a heart attack during the pandemic in 2021. One minute she was in my life, and the next she was gone forever. I never told you at the time, but it seems a fitting end to my time here, to pay homage to a friend I hope to meet one day “in person” in whatever comes after this. So Maddie, thank you for everything you put into this blog with me, thank you for the hours of fun and laughter, for the many hundreds of posts that will stand as a testament to your memory. I miss you. And I hope wherever you are, you are doing something crazy.

Why did you choose your URL?

When I was younger I had an art youtube channel called Apple Juice, and I wanted to make a sims gaming channel as well, and my brilliant young mind came up with Bob Apple Sims - and when I joined tumblr, that’s the name I decided to go with! That old Apple Juice channel is also called bobapplesims now, it’s pretty much my entire brand name at this point.

How long have you been on Tumblr?

Oh dude, I gotta think deep about this one. I had a completely different tumblr years ago that is still active somewhere, probably. I never delted it. SO if we count with that one too, uhhh probably almost 6 years? I love this place so much.

Do you have a queue tag?

Not yet? I haven’t really found the need for one yet.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I started *this simblr* because I wanted to be more active in the comunity and make friends! I started my main tumblr(that is kind of on the back burner rn) because I wanted to get cc from tumblr, but later it spiralled into a cuphead oc blog. Which was fun while it lasted!!

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It’s my current sim, and I like him very much. It’s also so it might be easier for people to find me? Idk, I just like him. I might change it to one of the sims icons cause I find myself more easily following simblrs with sims icons as their pfp than others.

Why did you choose your header?

This one is only visible on mobile! But, pretty colors and didn’t have anything better.

If I’m on my computer for most of the day I usually have tumblr open in the background while I’m doing stuff, just in case.

nope and I hope it never happens. I just want all of us to have fun and get along. Most of us are adults or near adults in this comunity, at least as far as I’ve seen, we should all know how to get along and compromise where we need to.

They are hella stupid. As a kid I believed them, and my god did some of them traumatize me.
