☆ Draco Malfoy Headcanons & Moodboard ☆

Okay, so, a quick disclaimer here before we get started -----> now, I really believe that Draco is one the most tricky character to "get right" (speaking of his behavior and thoughts), so I just wanted to say that this is my personal interpretation and could be 100% different from yours so please be kind🥹

Oh boy, it took A LOT for you two to finally get together; a lot of time, a lot of effort, a lot of sacrifice and arguments between both of you and your friends. Just a lot.

I think we can all agree that our beloved boy couldn't care less about girls before during his first years at Hogwarts. Some things changed as time passed by, a lot, actually. He changed in the first place, becoming old enough to finally understand his family affairs and secrets. He HAD to change. He wanted to gain strength to be able to carry this new burden on his shoulders and to show his worth, but it all developed into a self-destruction, never-ending cycle that made him feel left out and alone. You, on the other hand, always seemed to have all figured out, and always looked so calm and caring. Truth is that you also felt like you were missing something, like you didn't really fit in for some reason.

It's not really clear how or why you two got together, but somehow, it happened.

Your caring nature always irritated him. How naive, he thought, but that time you found him crying on the bathroom floor, all alone and desperate, he thanked God that you came.

From this episode, bit by bit, your relationship started to form.

You two are VERY good at keeping it private, very discreet.

At the end of the day, you just have one another to stay with, and you are more than okay with that. People started to get suspicious, though; your friends started to notice your frequent excuses and distance, wondering WHAT ON EARTH they did to make you feel this way. Little did they know about your secret midnight meetings with a boy whose reputation speaks for himself.

Even though you two never show up together as a couple, you actually never feel lonely during the day. It's all about those secretly exchanged gazes, the typical side eye thing from across the room when someone is talking bs, him softly brushing his hand against yours when you are leaving a class and no one can see.

BUT, when you two are ACTUALLY ALONE... Soft touches, hushed words and pleading eyes.

You like to share silence together, there's nothing left to share after your first bathroom rendezvous.

I feel like he smells like wood, like deep forest or something like that, but his smell is kinda comforting (my scent-describing skills are nonexistent sorry😭)

I mean, you can feel his presence even without seeing him.

He has this thing about his eyes, like the way he looks at you. Everyone who played close attention to his gaze could tell it was love and admiration.

LOVES when you run your hands through his hair (sometimes you could swear to hear him purring).

Likes to make flowers appear between the pages of your potion book while taking classes, only to give you a subtle smile and turn his head to read his instructions immediately after.

Your first time together was during the Christmas break, when there were just the two of you in the entire Slytherin dorm. It was the first time he said "I love you" (it's fucking cheesy but I love it eheh). Everything was so slow and sensual. Lips, hands and kisses everywhere. Slow thrusts with your hands intertwined and his head buried in your neck.

His hands are always so cold that he has to keep them in your sleeves (he loves it though)

Likes watching you sleep (not in a creepy way don't worry lol). He'd brush your hair out of your face and caress your face softly.

Would fidget a lot while talking to you, mostly to distract himself from the fact that he gets weak in the knees every time he looks in your eyes, even after all this time. He'd 100% play with your hands or hair just because.

You'd literally yank his hand from his mouth every time he bit his nails or picked at his skin.

He's the type of person who would do hot things without even realizing. He would undo a few buttons of your shirt just to button them up right away just because he thought they looked weirdly asymmetrical, causing you to blush and stutter. And this mf would just tell you to go on and finish what you were saying (okay, maybe he does this on purpose).

You know that the way he behaves around others is just a facade. He is so broken and hopeless that he HAS to act that way around them, but when he's with you, his safe place, he feels so grateful that he gets to get loose from his worries and reveal the real person he is that it scares him how attracted he is to you, how primal his need for you is.

When your friends found out that you were dating Mr Bully Malfoy, they just couldn't wrap their heads around the reason that spurred you to do so. Let's just say that you are not friends anymore. You tried to explain yourself countless times, but they didn't seem to understand nor were willing to do so, and you thought you were better off without them anyway.

He got the same treatment from his friends ngl. It was better this way, honestly. In the end, you just needed one another to feel complete and fulfilled.

He thought about running away with you almost once a day during his 6th year. He knew what, better say who, was coming. He was sure that the death eaters wouldn't spare anyone, maybe himself included. When he first told you, he was sure you would laugh it off and call him paranoid, but instead, you listened to him carefully and decided to plan your escape with him without even flinching.

It was a gloomy night in the middle of the winter. Rushed footsteps were echoing in a corridor, then in the hall, down the stairs. Restless eyes were wandering around the path, occasionally looking back to check no one was tagging after them. A subtle creaking of a rusty gate opening was heard, and then nothing else.

OKAY SO I got WAY MORE carried away than I should and I know this is longer and more serious and dark than what I usually do but I tried my best. Actually, I'm not 100% satisfied with how it turned out and maybe the person who asked it expected something different and more light-hearted, and I apologize for it. Again, writing this character is difficult af.

Summary: All Color had to do was turn his back for Killer and Delta to jump on each other's vertebrae, but things ended up getting out of control in this not-so-friendly game.

"Look, I won’t be able to be by your side all the time, so try not to get into trouble, okay? I can sort it all out later, just… don’t start anything.” He can almost feel Color’s fingertips gently brushing down his face, cleaning the remnants of black lines left around his eye sockets.

The words echo in Killer's mind, and he barely registers the same sweet, patient tone from Color that he first heard. So why? Why is Killer ignoring this simple request? Is it just for fun? Or is he indifferent to the impending danger because he misses that despair?

Yes, he grins, perhaps that’s the reason. 

Killer barely manages to dodge the punch Delta throws close to his face. It’s clear that Killer must be rusty, as he didn’t notice the orange figure as easily as he used to.

Color may have eased his defenses, but that doesn’t mean the others — especially the other Sanses — will be equally merciful with him. Not after everything he has done.

“Over my dead body! I’ll kill you before you even think about living here!” Another punch is thrown in his direction. Luckily, this time he manages to dodge it more effectively, paying closer attention to Delta’s aggressive and impulsive attacks.

“It shouldn’t be too hard to step over a pile of dust,” Killer retorted, his mocking smile widening further at Delta’s furious snarl. 

They had been in this aggressive dance for a while now, and although Killer felt his bones vibrating with excitement and his magic simmering with anticipation, he continued to focus solely on dodging. It was unusual for him to be on the defensive side, rather than the attacker.

But no less fascinating.

“Ha! You’re the one who’ll end up as a pile of dust!” Delta, too, seemed to be enjoying the furious dance between them, even if all that hatred was coming from him alone.

As for Killer, the round target on his chest made it clear that this was all just an experiment for his amusement: how much longer could Delta tolerate Killer’s presence in the Omega Timeline?

The results were hardly surprising. As soon as Color left, they both went at each other's throats, or at least tried to. Until then, they hadn’t made physical contact — only attacking and dodging in tight circles, confined to the small area around them.

“I wonder what Color would think if he saw his little friend beating up his roommate. Poor little Color,” Killer said with a scoff, raising a barrier of bones just in time to deflect Delta’s kick. Without the blue magic, it would have definitely landed squarely on his ribs.

“It’s not like he’ll miss Nightmare’s pet!” Delta sneered, watching Killer’s smile waver. “What’s wrong? Did I hit a nerve?” He chuckled.

How could Color be friends with someone like this? As Killer pondered this, a gap in Delta’s defense suddenly appeared. Seeing an opportunity for an easy defeat, Killer summoned one of his bones behind the skeleton with orange gloves, poised for Delta to make a mistake and impale himself on it.

How could Color be friends with someone like this? Color. Color's friend. As the thought crossed his mind, the newly summoned bone vanished in an instant, leaving behind only a brief wisp of gray smoke.

Killer staggered back, still bewildered by his own instinct to consider the consequences of Delta’s death. Would Color forgive him, or would he see him as the ruthless killer everyone claims he is? Before Killer could dwell on the question, the tip of Delta’s shoe struck his jaw with a sharp impact.

“Don’t be daydreaming on me now!” That was the last thing Killer heard before a hellish buzzing filled his head, mingling with Delta’s harsh curses and death threats.

Killer didn’t even attempt to brace himself as he fell, accepting the inevitable impact with the dirt floor. Delta was clearly someone you couldn’t afford to let your guard down around, not even for a moment.

He felt something lodged in his throat and, struggling, began to cough. He turned his face to the side, spitting out the vile black goo onto the floor, along with what little dignity he had left. The buzzing in his skull persisted, a relentless, irritating monotone like the beeping of a dead heart monitor.

Piiiiiiiiiiii

It echoed and echoed, filling his mind with its insistent, rhythmic drone.

Even without the single eye light in one of his eye sockets, Killer felt the pain twisting through him, spreading from his jaw and radiating through his skull like a slow, agonizing shock. For a moment, everything went dark. Then, the faint glow of his soul illuminated his vision, casting everything in a crimson red.

Before his vision fully returned, Killer first felt something on his face — an unknown gentleness, caressing and touching him like he was made of glass. He tried to speak, to push it away, feeling he didn’t deserve the pity of whatever was comforting him. But all that escaped his teeth were a few incoherent grunts.

“It’s okay, I’m here,” a voice assured him gently, urging him to stay quiet.

Killer felt all his bones relax instantly, and his soul, which had been twisting in agony, finally settled in front of his chest. He recognized that voice, so sweet and familiar.

“What happened to you?” Color murmured, carefully wiping the black streak that dripped from between Killer’s teeth, as if even the slightest touch might cause him pain.

Don't talk to me like that, Killer hissed in his mind. Don’t be gentle after I broke your promise.

“Shit, Color, I ca-”

“Shut up.” Killer had never heard Color growl with such controlled intensity, as if he were suppressing a hidden rage to avoid frightening Killer more (even though that anger wasn’t directed at him).

“I don’t want to hear a single word from you, or I’ll say things I’ll regret later.” Killer’s vision shifted from a yellow light to a brief flash of orange, before settling into a soothing light blue.

He then realizes that the light is coming from the fervent flames emerging from Color’s skull, casting a beautiful display of colors that illuminates both his face and the surrounding area.

Killer didn’t hear any response from Delta; he was either as stunned by Color’s aggressive stance or had simply decided to comply with the harsh order. Either way, Killer didn’t care. What mattered was seeing Color’s eye light focused on him only, carefully scanning for any additional injuries on his face.

“Can you talk to me, Killer? Please?” The aggressive tone from before melted away, replaced by a pleading and patient voice — the one Killer knew so well.

Wanting to reassure him, Killer managed a smirk, despite the pain in his jaw and numbness on his tongue, “I’ll survive— ouch!”

He chuckled, “Heh, if you’re already talking nonsense, then it can’t have been that bad,” Color said, half-jokingly, though his voice carried a note of genuine concern.

Killer simply grunted as Color’s hand moved to his spine, traveling down to his shoulder blades before helping him into a more comfortable sitting position.

Even though he turned his face away, trying to hide the shame he felt for disobeying Color’s "order" — even though, deep down, Killer knew it was just a request — he couldn’t help but imagine the disappointed expression on Color’s face.

“Look, I know I messed up, okay? You don’t have to look at me like that…” he whispered, fearful and aware of the consequences he might face for ignoring such a simple request as avoiding a f-

“It’s alright,” Color said, with a calmness that surprised Killer. He looked back to see concern in Color’s eye and the blue flames on top of his skull glowing more gently. “We’ll talk about this later. First, we need to take care of you, okay?”

Killer trusted those words completely. He allowed himself to be comforted by Color’s promises, lightly headbutting Color’s face as a simple, silent apology.

He felt Color’s hand give his shoulder a reassuring squeeze, as if he understood Killer’s remorse — not for getting into the fight or for getting hurt, but for breaking one of the few promises he had made to Color.

“We’ll talk later, Delta. Don’t even think about running away from me.” Killer couldn’t help but smile smugly, imagining Delta’s anxious expression, clearly terrified of the lecture he would face later.

In my head, you’re a Magnus Archives blog. I mean, I know you obviously listen to other things, but In my mind it’s things like Welcome to Nightvale, Malevolent, Hello from the Hallowoods, The Sheridan Tapes, things like that, horror and supernatural.

So I had to do a double-take when I saw a Dungeons and Daddies post from you, I really didn’t know you listened to it. Then I see you reblog a Fawx and Stallion post, and now I’m just wondering how many podcasts you’ve listened to that I’ve also listened to.

Hahaha yes this blog has been mainly for tma stuff for years now, I still feel like I'm new to the fandom but honestly I've been here through a lot of it since the beginning of season 5

Buuuuut in the past few months I've stopped going into the tma tag regularly and been feeling a little detached from it, at least as opposed to before. My listen to tmagp has been way less interactive and I hardly reblog content anymore (which is something I like doing but because of various bad experiences on the internet recently I have yet to recover from I feel safer posting my own original posts rather than reblogging)

And that freed up a space in my mind to realize I've actually been listening to a lot of podcasts besides tma and it's honestly a shame not to talk about them more with others

dave and buck are so special to me and here’s why.

in my now quite elaborate and maybe far removed perception of ttcc that is a melting pot of headcanons, i see dave and buck in a very specific light.

they are both here to waste company time. no way either of them are in agreement with the toon war. the way i think of it goes as follows: buck’s fight, for example, is undeniably just that, a fight. he is trying to beat you. he can’t exactly stand between toons and goons and go “hey fellath why don’t we talk it out?” lol. the fight is inevitable, because if he doesn’t do his job he’d get demoted or fired, which would take away any shred of power he had to begin with and render him effectively useless in doing anything about the war.

so what does he do instead? well, i can’t name another boss who has a chance of dropping items on their own team, much less raining jellybeans on the enemy. maybe that’s because my overall knowledge of ttcc is embarrassingly sparse, but i feel the need to point that out.

buck doesn't take anything seriously. he goofs around, turns the battle into a joke. i can’t tell you how much i laughed in my first fight with him, and that’s before i formed any solid ideas about him. he stands out to me because of that. i think he wants to give toons something to smile about, if they’ve gotta fight. if you can’t join ‘em, be a good sport, right?

and dave. oh man, dave! his beginning cutscene is LITERALLY a bunch of goons offering to punch your daylights out in order to get the fight over with, and what does he do? nah, he offers you onstage, gives you a fair fight. makes it into a show. dave isn’t taking this seriously either. he’s a tough hard hitter, but he didn’t instantly wipe you out for a reason. hell, he even fakes his death in the middle of the battle just for shits and giggles. he’s trying to dazzle, to give everyone a good story.

shall i recount the ending cutscene when you beat dave? it actually blows my mind again every time i see it. he offers congratulations in his defeat, respects a good brawl. he even gives you the rose in what may be the single hottest display of robot whimsy on this planet.

buck and dave both know how uncertain times are. they both understand the role they play in this war, and although they’re just cogs in the machine, they know how to feign some rustiness for the toon’s sake.

now as if all that weren’t enough, what can i possibly say about high roller that i haven’t already said a million times. high roller’s high roller, the game show that clowns on itself, the host that dishes out dizzying fun at the drop of a hat! like, is hr trying to get fired??

nothing about the show says ‘cog etiquette’. the whole event screams rebellion, like some sort of impossible, law-defying piano man. what do toons even stand to accomplish by showing up other than having a good time? the theatre is literally full of all kinds of managers and they do nothing. it was never about defeating anyone, it’s about finding a bit of joy in the worst of times. sure, hr loves to win, but she doesn’t particularly like to see others lose.

once you defeat hr, just like that, show’s over. the audience comprised entirely of enemies stays seated, and the toons skedaddle. i don’t know how one could possibly spin this into something truly competitive.

it fascinates me endlessly and i always have more to say about it but i have other things to do today so i have to tear away from the keyboard lawl.

Extremely inconsistent player, won’t log on for months at a time. Randomly remembers about the game and then proceeds to play it a lot 😭.

He’s actually really good at remembering crafting recipes. Like insanely good.

He always remembers the most obscure crafting recipes in Minecraft, like it’s a conundrum…

How are you not playing Minecraft for months at a time but you can tell me the exact recipe for a red stone lamp, specific placement and all.

The task that he loves the most: None.

The task that he hates the most: None.

I fell like he’s pretty similar to Leona just on the opposite side of the spectrum lol 😭.

The reason why he doesn’t have any particular task he likes/dislikes is because he just likes playing Minecraft. 👍

To explain better, all the things that makes Minecraft a true gaming experience is what he enjoys. There’s no one thing that he likes over the other and there really isn’t anything in particular he dislikes.

For the SMP idea, he is the player that disappears and randomly comes back every so often.

Whenever he logs into the SMP, he makes a mental list of what he wants to get done but it never falls through because he would be busy exploring the server and seeing what new builds have appeared since the last time he logged on.

Over all I’d rate him a 7/10 as a Minecraft player.

I’d like to believe that he starts playing with a lot of apprehension. And when I say a lot I mean

A LOT.

I’m guessing he doesn’t really understand gaming in general much less for a game like MC.

In the beginning, he was not quite aware of fall damage and he often died just due to that.

This caused him to be upset because he often died REALLY far away from his house…😔 (it happens to the best of us Vil 👍)

Based on how much he perseveres in the actual story, I feel like he would pick up and grasp the mechanics of Minecraft fairly quickly

Which in return causes him to feel less jilted when playing and causes him to play more often (in short intervals ofc)

SMP idea: In my opinion, I feel like he would keep to himself for the duration of the SMP.

When he disappears and logs back on he is met with a barrage of gifts from Rook lol 😭

Task he loves the most: logging off/j

There’s this one clip of someone playing MC bedwars doing the most epic maneuvering, that’s LITERALLY him guys trust, I was the PC.

The starter of a prank war in the SMP server. He started with pranking Azul and then it turned into a fully fledged war with all the people on the server…

He does quite harmless and petty pranks often, one time he filled Azul’s “secret” base with all sorts of peaceful mobs on each floor 😭

Task he hates the most: None.

He doesn’t hate any task in particular, sure some of them can get quite annoying. But he as a player is not actively avoiding any of them y’know?

Task he loves the most: Redstone mechanics, I know this technically isn’t a task but bear with me here 😭

I’d like to imagine he picked up MC at a fairly young age, so when he found out about redstone mechanics he was floored.

He found it cool the many ways people could manipulate different aspects of the game to build something not so regular and common in vanilla Minecraft and Minecraft in general.

He absolutely loves the command block, trust 👍

Can you tell I know nothing about redstone…

I know enough about it to have a feeling that he would love it tho 😭.

Physically cannot play for long periods of time, finds it a waste of his time/day.

He is quite interested in those really large and elaborate builds but never gets around to actually building them

For the SMP idea. He was invited but he never logs on. He sees it the same as just a survival world only with more people in it. He’d pop in here and there and see what’s going on.

Task he hates the most: Getting supplies for builds, crafts etc.

This plays into why he never finishes the elaborate builds he plans to build… 😔

At first, he quite liked exploring hard for the specific materials that he needed for whatever project was going on in his head but

As time went on he got more and more tired of the process 😭. So he’d just rather not do it all.

Task he loves the most: Adventuring but with others with him.

So i finished watching TDPI (and i have a theory on why it's so hated)

Yeah, it's actually been nearly a week since i watched the finale. Took me that long to scrounge up the motivation to write this post lol

I watched episodes 9-13 with my buddy @rockin-it-rusty again, and i have. thoughts.

Honestly, Hurl and Go Seek and Scarlett Fever were probably the highlights of the season. They're pretty funny episodes, where both Jasmine and Shawn's conflict is solved and Sky and Dave's relationship hits a brick fucking wall due to Dave's own character flaws. The set-up for the challenge is also pretty unique for an eating challenge and i like the comedy! Also Scarlett Fever having an actual antagonistic force is fun.

But i'll be real: I barely even remember anything from episode 11. And i don't remember much from episode 12, either. Doesn't help i wasn't the most concentrated on the episodes themselves, but the challenges and the character relationships weren't the most compelling/interesting to me. I'll say this though, Sugar and Sky's weird little alliance was fun while it lasted.

As for Lies, Cries and One Big Prize... God, the finale's mid. Im already not invested in Jasmine and Shawn's conflict, and im not gonna be invested in this either! But i think Skave's conflict is actually interesting here! Sky kissing Dave while having a boyfriend back home she wanted to break up with but forgetting to is interesting, and even Dave reacting very very badly to being rejected in episode 9 was fun to see. It's like. Oh my god. A relationship this season having some depth??? That i don't need to extrapolate myself?? There's three things that kill it for me though.

If you've been following this blog for a while, or hell have talked to me on Discord, you KNOW i am not a fan of straight, basic romance, and that's basically all that skave is for like half the season. Granted they have a better start than jashawn, who just blush at eachother once and then the plot happens, but that doesn't mean it's any less boring to me! The misscommunications are frustating because they feel completely artificial, and they only get compelling by Hurl and Go Seek. The episode Dave gets eliminated in.

The second thing that bothers me is that Sky leading Dave on in the finale (and that is what she's doing during the final challenge since she doesn't want to date him afterwards) is out of character for her. Her whole thing is winning honestly; she literally tells Sugar two episodes earlier that she can't cheat during the challenges or else they won't have an alliance because Sky's uncomfortable with that. Why would she be comfortable leading anyone on, even if it's for a victory then? It's still cheating! You could argue it's to push a contrast between her sportsmanship and her apparently being a disaster in relationships in that regard but i seriously doubt that's what the writers were going for!

The final nail in the coffin for me though is Dave's entire reaction. It's pretty funny how pathetic he is about it in episode 9, but his attempted murder of Sky is going just a bit too far? Especially since the worst he did earlier on this season was being a little bitch and being insistent. Would i belive he'd probably not react well? Absolutely. Would he try getting back at Sky? Oh, definitely, that guy's not well adjusted. Would he try killing her? I don't think so. I don't know, Total Drama makes you do crazy shit.

But yeah, those last couple of episodes have made me realise exactly why i belive Pahkitew Island seems so hated (and by extension why World Tour is so well liked) and i think it's because of it's ending episodes. The season's peak is reached at Scarlett Fever, to the point every episode afterwards just felt way worse, both in terms of entertainment and writing. Coupled with challenges i wasn't very into, relationship conflict that wasn't very compelling to me and eliminations that weren't very convincing (episode 12 would've been so much more interesting if Sugar had gotten voted out an episode earlier. Even if i love her character!).

Frankly the attempted drama in the finale just reinforces that impression of it all being... Artificial. Not in a "The Island Is Mecanical" kind of way, in a "The Writers Are Just Forcing This Conflict" way. Like it doesn't feel like a thing the story needed, or a conflict that arose naturally from the characters' dynamics with eachother. idk.

Endings both have a huge impact on how people perceive media, as well as a lasting impression on it; it's the reason TV shows can go from dominating Pop Culture to being hated and subsequently forgotten about in a matter of weeks or months if they're lucky. Pahkitew Island is at it's funniest and most entertaining during the middle of the season and it's end arguably contains the weakest episodes out of the entire season. Contrast that with World Tour, which outside of G1 bias has it's better drama and episodes later on since all the characters it flanderized and assassinated aren't there anymore but shush As well as having good moments earlier on. Hell, if you ignore the final two minutes, World Tour can be argued to have one of the best finales and im only not saying it's the best one because both TDI and ROTI exist and have a better one. While Pahkitew Island probably has one of the worst ones. The show kinda just... Ends. Dave probably gets mauled by a robot bear and Sky, Shawn and Jasmine are off the Island and that's that.

That, coupled with the lack of character interactions is probably why people don't tend to talk about this season, which is a SHAME because it's a really fun season, with really fun characters and actually good ideas! It deserves to be explored more, appreciated more!

And with no transition at all, let's talk about my character opinions!

Dave is. Yeah, it's a whole thing. Him being more insistent in episode 9 on charming Sky at the start feels a bit forced? but it's probably because i thought the "bet you still wish i was your boyfriend" line came a little bit out of nowhere for me? Feels like it came from an earlier draft, or the writters of the episodes before it didn't keep track of where his relationship/opinion on Sky was. I do think him taking the rejection awfully and being really pathetic all episode is really funny however, and it makes skave more interesting by default to me, so it helps!

...Ok, fine, i'll talk about the finale. I'll elaborate on this in Sky's section, but it doesn't do Dave's character much favors. He feels a bit more pathetic in that episode before the existence of Sky's boyfriend is revealed, and then the whole reveal happens and... yeah. Dude seems happy by Sky possibly dying. Just feel like that's a little too far? Compared to how he was before? Idk.

I'll talk about Max first over Scarlett because i have way more to say about her than him. He's still funny. My earlier post on him is still right. His elimination is hot garbage btw, dude should've gotten kicked instead of Ella

Now, Scarlett's actually interesting, since we've gotten to the twist; i really like her in concept as a villain that is antagonistic out of a lack of morality and not just. Being a piece of shit. Then again, the whole evil vilain twist in Scarlett Fever kinda sorta entirely goes against this. Genuinely think that Max just made her fucking snap and she tried to blackmail Chris into getting the million herself because she couldn't fucking handle being around this guy. She hates him

Jasmine's fine. It's nice to see her get actual screentime, but wow she spends 90% of it glued to Shawn and it kinda sucks since i don't think i have a great grasp on her personality due to this. When i'll rewatch the season to take more precise notes i'll try to pay way more attention to her character i guess? Her clear trust issues should've been explored, just saying.

Sugar's GREAT. Seriously, she's my favorite part of the show post Scarlett Fever and it's not even close. She's genuinely funny! I love seeing her do her own thing and be a menace, it's great. The show's super mean to her about it? For some reason? I think the writters were trying to treat her like the main antagonist but she really doesn't read like one to me. Girlie deserved that spin off she mentions in episode 9. Or i guess she technically got it since she appears in Dramarama. Maybe i should watch the episodes she's in...

Shawn, like Jasmine, is kinda there for me. I do think creating conflict between these two is a good idea, but the writters just lean wayyyy too hard into the Zombie Apocalypse Nutjob aspect of his personality in episode 11 especially, it just flattens him and it's pretty sad since he's got some interesting things about him, and the way he tries to make it up to Jasmine both time they're in conflict is cute. Wish they actually communicated more tho

Finally, Sky. Oh Sky, how i wish they treated you better. Listen. In theory? I don't hate the idea of Sky having a boyfriend back home she wanted to break up with. Perfect way of adding drama to a character that didn't seem to have any. The problem is the everything with the finale. The writters make her seemingly lead Dave on during the final challenge and while she was probably going to come clean before Dave interrupts her again (which is actually a good way of showing they wouldn't work out due to him not putting in the effort of listening to her), i don't think her doing that at all would be in character. Her whole thing of good sportsmanship and winning without cheating feels off when contrasted with this. Also, girl should've really just said to Dave that she was planning to break up with her boyfriend and not to the confessional camera. Doubt that would've stopped Dave from freaking out, but at least she'll have tried i guess.

SO. I'LL ASK AGAIN: DOES PAHKITEW ISLAND DESERVE THE HATE?

NO. No it doesn't.

I'd even consider it the most underrated season of Total Drama! It just... really got fucked over by circomstances and things out of it's control. This season was written at the same time as All Stars, by like 4 writers, with a whole new cast to flesh out and only 13 episodes to do so and seemingly less ideas. You can tell that by the end, the writers really didn't care and just wanted this shit to end - the final three episodes feel like first drafts, even moreso than the earlier episodes did. And it sucks! It sucks because this season had a whole lot of potential, and it either got wasted or crapped on by the fandom at large!

I just... I wish this season got treated better, is all.

Also why the fuck does Chef only get five lines. What was up with that

I don't know if you've answered this before, but what do you think about the Arkhamverse version of them? I would prefer Arkham Knight, but if you feel uncomfortable with it, Arkham Asylum is fine (I love both). I don't know what to think of it at the moment and I'm trying to form an opinion!

hello there!! i’m also happy to meet another fellow-minded scarebat believer out there! scarebat is just such a fascinating ship. i’m honestly go uwu when i see other people enjoying it too! this pair indeed deserve more recognition an’ love! an’ aw, heck, thank you! it makes me blush knowing that someone can have fun with those lil, whimsical things i do! 

an’ oh, nope. i didn’t answer this one! arkhamverse’s content is smth that i see circulating around a lot, but i didn’t see much content for that version of scarebat. i guess, the constant choking, an’ ‘get on your knees now, crane’ wasn’t enough to awaken smth in anyone *besides me an’ 2-3 other fine wine enjoyers*. which is once again too bad, bc even design wise, they’re kinda a banger in their own right. whichever version we take, it’s just a good contrast between batman’s heavy armour an’ jon’s typical rags *with some cyber-punk touch later on*. like, while i’m a simple gal who tends to simp for ‘classic’ outlooks, i do appreciate what the game did. gotta love crane’s freddy krueger syringe glove, an’ how he got it embedded into bruce’s neck an’ chest, an’ then got stabbed with it himself lol. there is a lot of homoerotic stuff, which can be done with it! esp bc it’s such a close range weapon, an’ each version of akrham’s crane used it differently. in arkham asylum, he injected the poison into bruce’s arm. the desperate, angry action kinda reminded me of a pissy, bristling animal, that would bite your hand, when if you try to grab it. in the next game, jon was way more vicious, less of a thrashing opossum that you find in your garage an’ more of a snake, that you accidentally step on, while you climbing down your porch. the vast difference between his mental states then an’ later on is an interesting theme for speculations. esp bc bruce is also worse to wear in the next game. in fact, i’d say that arkham knight sorta depicts them at their subjective ‘worst’ almost. an’ it says smth, bc i don’t think that either of them are ever in good mental place. 

i kinda find it interesting how some people would assume, that if person acts cold an’ detached, it means that they’re ‘in control’, when sometimes, it’s the opposite. in bruce’s case for sure. but i’d like this for some versions of crane as well, bc it suits his psychotype as well. not to mention, that jon’s hygiene in arkham knight is at its lowest too, which says a few things about his mental state right off the bat. or how he didn’t seem to properly treat his own wounds, just instantly throwing himself into his biggest scheme. a man truly possessed by revenge. 

but welp, if we go into specifics of each separate version of arkhamverse, i guess, i will start with arkham asylum! my memories about those games are a bit rusty, but i’ll go with what i remember. providing more emphasis on arkham knight, since they do have more going on an’ you seem more interested in that specific version too! 

still, first things first, i love how jonathan was half-naked during the first game lol. it’s just so funny to me, bc he is usually covered from head to toe, but in there, he was shirtless, wearing pants that held for dear life on those skinny hips an’ i’ll bet dude had nothing underneath them either. he’s never was the most proper person, admittingly, but idk, running around the dirty asylum an’ hunting your enemy while showing off your nips an’ stomach is…smth else. esp for a prude like crane. but i guess, at that point of time, he seemed to be so deranged, that his usual body issues no longer worried him. besides, poison ivy walked around in her underwear an’ blouse that was held together by one durable button, why can’t he do the same? it’s not like batman would comment on it, even if he wanted to. but like, honestly, all the hints of possible spooky + sexy times were there, so it’s a shocker, that no one has done anything about it yet. i mean, you literally have jonathan, who was flashing the bat for 20 minutes straight, an’ it’s not smth that the majority of cranes would ever have the guts to do in any other set-up. btas an’ comicverse ones would downright combust, before they’d be walking around batman shirtless. but not that gremlin. he was all about it. even if i do think, that he wasn't fully aware about what it means, an’ that it’s kinda embarrassing to do smth like that, while you are trying to be intimidating. he’s not bane. it’s not like he has some crazy muscular mass to show off. but it is very stimulating to think about the ways it all can be used in. the cold bat’s armour to exposed skin of a spooky toothpick. batman grips scarecrow’s clothes, when they fight. in there, it’ll be almost all naked skin. that’s a sexy imagery to have! 

as for the substance of the arkham asylum on itself, i don’t think that scarecrow was in there a lot. but then again, maybe i just remember it this way. it is however curious how fast crane goes from campy looney to more serious, jarred person, we see in the next game. an’ his whole motivation shifts from ‘you’re just like us and have fears’ to ‘there is no saviour. no hope’. almost like he was very, very let down, when batman failed to save him that one time lol. but considering that arkhamverse kept jonathan’s comic origin, it’s safe to assume that yeah, he took that very-very personally. he isn’t the joker, who kinda never brings up how many times, batman casually let him ‘die’. the btas alone has like 3 occasions like that lmao. meanwhile, jon went into a scornful cold rage, after just one epic fail, which, at the end of the day, is very him lol. the drugged up bat didn’t save him, that’s it. no one’s supremacy, fuck gotham. an’ i’m only partly jeering here. 

which leads us straight to to arkham knight version, an’ to bruce instantly going up there an’ choking the living hell out of jon, the second he sees him. what a reunion! esp with that whole head hitting an’ throwing crane onto floor, like a ragdoll. batman just had to assert his dominance, even when jonathan barely opened his mouth. *bc yeah, you stay down, bottom*. i like how crane tried his hardest to be serious an’ imposing during that whole deal, but the bat just wasn't super amused. yet, like usual, he did give the scarecrow room to speak later on. allowing him to walk around him. an’ boy, gotta appreciate that ‘bad guy's sly hips play’ as scarecrow circled the bat. it was quite a vision. even with fucked up leg, he managed to pull that off. i wish there were more moments like this. they had a lot of potential for more brutal scarebat interactions, than some other versions of them. all the cues for it were there. batman was hallucinating a ghost of a dead clown, who wouldn’t shut up about whatever, an’ jonathan was all about his ‘end goal’, not caring what he had to do to get to it. what an explosive combo. i was low-key surprised, that bruce didn’t wipe the floor with crane just out of pure frustration, an’ then some. an’ considering how fucked up they both are in that version, it wouldn’t put it past the ghost!joker to suggest they’d do smth else with crane, if batman is unwilling to kill him. there is actually a lot of leeway, with bruce blaming some stuff on his personal brain damage, while joker just keeps on pouring gasoline into the fire. i even had this one idea about the joker playing a horrible matchmaker just to make everyone even more miserable, but mostly just bruce. all while not expecting crane to be able to return the sentiment in his own messed up manner. 

an’ speaking of sentiment, i do think that it can be here as well. it’ll be buried under layers an’ layers of pseudo-resentment, but that’s like typical scarebat. no one ever talk about their real emotions in that ship lol. well, not in a normal way. in arkham knight, i suppose the joker can be a narrator of bruce an’ crane’s relationships. not missing a beat to tell them *well, bruce* how much they suck. an’ he won’t even be wrong, batman abandoning some of his duties, bc well, this. an’ crane as per usual getting confused by feelings, that isn’t hatred or fear. they can enter those intense relationships with the worst kind of miscommunication. bc they awful at it, when they’re not super unstable *or at least one of them isn’t*, an’ now they can be godawful at it, bc batman is close to breaking point, an’ jonathan is at his bitterests an’ pettiest. crane also can assume, that he can ‘unmade’ the bat this way, all while messing up his own scheme in the process. with god’s help, they might even survive this. idk about gotham tho lol. the joker being a third wheel an’ technically a cuck in that situation just adds how messed up it all is. but maybe with jon’s ‘help’, they can deal with that problem too. i don’t think, crane would like to share in any way. i mean, he would have been pissed off, if he learned that batman had a mini-devil on his shoulder the whole time. in a way, it kinda defeats the purpose of it all. it would almost like taking all the credit from him, an’ he won’t stand for it. crane combating bruce’s personal ghosts for his own selfish, possessive needs is smth, i would have liked to see for them. jonathan accidently being a good psychiatrist to bruce is my peak scarebat dark comedy. similar to how in ‘kings of fear’, it was basically ‘i can fix him, but bitch, you’re worse’ kind of deal too. in return, bruce can try an’ help crane actually put some proper garnet for his leg on, an’ look a bit less like a sickly *even if scary-spooky-cool* animal. they can find some middle ground, even if for questionable reasons, or they can have that slow-burn from enemies to lovers thing too. heck, i mean, it’s a wonder how come that scarecrow didn’t kidnap bruce first to try an’ break him a tad more, before making gotham see ‘that they had no hope’ an’ all that. 

on less game plot related notes, i do like to play around with what can be done about jon’s state in arkham knight. like his face being all messed up, half of his body moving way more stiffly, there are a lot of things that can be done with it. an’ the parallel of batman being crippled on the inside an’ crane being pretty much this an’ then also damaged outside of it….mmm, that’s just good. also we all know that nolanverse crane moaned ‘batman’ like a whore while his hair were pulled, but what about arkham knight’s scarecrow lil gay gasps an’ whimpers, when bruce held him by the throat an’ injected him with his own toxin? if gordon an’ jason weren’t there, i wonder what might have happened lol. love scarecrow’s scared expressions in that game btw, somehow they still manage to make him look cute. 

an’ now for a bit of nitpicky bit. when i look back at arkham knight, like some other folks, i do wish there was less…joker in it. he did add some fun elements there or here, but he should have been a background segment tbh. i really wanted to see more of mindbending stuff similar to level in arkham asylum. batman ‘given into’ hallucination joker’s cheers to kill crane, even if it was all a mindfuck bit was tasteless for me. if they wanna make bruce kinda walk that route, i’d rather see him doing it by his own misgivings an’ rage. tho, i do give credit where it’s duo, crane saying ‘you’ve changed’ an’ not sounding esp thrilled about it was curious smth. 

but omg, that’s got long, haha. hope, it’s not too troublesome. i’m kinda chatty an’ rambly kind of person, esp when i talk about things i love. can’t talk short in most cases. 

thank you for the ask btw! i do enjoy talking about scarebat a lot, no matter what version. an’ i hope, that your day is going great as well! i do apologise for how late some of my responses are coming through. i tend to pick at questions for a couple of days or so, just to make sure that i kinda give it my utmost thoughts, haha. hopefully, my answer helped you to form your own vision on the matter better or gave you an idea how different / similar you see smth, when it comes to those two.

sorry to be negative but just looking back on things now I realize... I didn't really enjoy Sonic Prime season 2 that much.

like - don't get me wrong - Sonic Prime Shadow is the best Shadow we've had in ages. I'm not complaining about Shadow - I think s2e1 is literally the best episode in the series because of his and Sonic's dynamic.

But my issues with the season stem from, and maybe I shouldn't be complaining because Sonic is for kids - but jeeze for me there were just too many action scenes - and they were so long and drawn out, and in between all that the Eggmans got far too much screen time. Generational humour stopped being funny in- scratch that, it was never funny. All of them come off as annoying, I don't enjoy any of them - and I consider myself fucking easy to please lmao

The fight scenes are animated wonderfully don't get me wrong - but Sonic Prime seems to struggle, at least in this season, balancing developing character alongside the action. Did Sonic learn anything new about or develop his bonds with the Bozcage residents? No... not even Thorn Rose really. The pirates, aside from Dread, don't have anything unique about them to write home about.

The best parts of the season, for me, were Shadow (and by extension his dynamic with Sonic), Rusty Rose/Black Rose's friendship, Nine being... Nine (cuz he's cool and also has a great dynamic with Sonic), and Chaos Sonic. Why? Because they're one of the few interpersonal elements of the show that focus on characters and their relationships. We get Shadow being the pragmatic straight man to Sonic's recklessness. We see Rusty Rose change to the good side and form a connection with her counterpart. We explore something interesting when Sonic is forced to fight an even more obnoxious version of himself - and how Sonic hated seeing himself in Chaos Sonic, and then Nine's motivations are just plain good - and Sonic seeing him as real, while Shadow doesn't is just interesting philosophy.

But unfortunately- those were very small parts of a season that was mostly fight fight fight then eggmans bicker

Once again I feel like fans are doing the heavy lifting when finding the substance in these characters. I'll see posts that deconstruct the various versions of Knuckles and what that says about the Prime version - and like - yeah that's so cool! But I also think... you put way much more thought than the writers did. I genuinely think they said "Knuckles but jewel obsessed pirate" and called it a day. The show never tries to tie these versions back to exploring the original versions of these characters - Sonic isn't having any sort of introspection on his friends and what their strengths are and what they mean to him.

Also, again sorry for bringing this back to Dread but he was far less interesting in season 2. Tricking his crew was cool (since Prime Knuckles could never pull a move like that - which... again, would be nice for the show/Sonic to acknowledge in some way) but basically all his dialogue beyond that point becomes "me beauty" and just... eugh.

Anyways I hope season 3 just takes a breather to explore the characters more lol - because if anything happened to these counterparts - I wouldn't feel a damn thing unless it's Nine

Hi hi I stumbled across ur tags in that one tumblr post about atoms and I loved ur response!! I also had a question related 2 it. My knowledge of chemistry and atoms is very surface level (dropped out of my environmental sciences major after 2 years lol) so forgive me if this sounds a lil silly. But I thought atoms could touch? Like when they form bonds their electron clouds can overlap right? The cloud is part of the atom so they are touching I would think, even if the nuclei wouldn’t be. Or are those models inaccurate and the electron clouds don’t actually overlap, is that just a simplification for diagram purposes when teaching bonds? Great questions, my background's mostly coming from the physics side of things and is a little rusty, but I've got enough mutuals who will yell at me in the replies if I get anything seriously wrong here.

That said, generally when physicists tell you 'things don't actually touch' what they mean is a) roughly speaking the 'surface' of all normal things are made of that electron cloud you're talking about, b) when things 'touch' those electrons get (obviously) very close to each other but still have a distance between them, because c) the Pauli Exclusion Principle, one of the basic underlying things that defines basically all of chemistry says that multiple electrons can't be in the same quantum state. This is all, more or less indisputable fact as proven by the fact that chemistry works and can make extremely accurate predictions about how chemicals will form, something that they could not do without this understanding of the electron as an elementary particle

But! You're also right that a covalent bond does represent an overlap of electron! The distinction between these things is twofold, first, when you, for instance, stand on the floor, the molecules in your shoes aren't bonding to the floor, they're reasonably well bonded to each other, but generally you're not creating new chemical bonds every time you stomp your feet, at least not to any significant degree. Instead what happens is that the electron clouds at both edges get very close to each other and go 'someone's already in here' by sending a blast of photons at each other, although here I have to note that the photons are what's called 'virtual photons' in that they're more mathematical conveniences than anything that gets out further than the local interactions, you couldn't see them because they're absorbed almost as soon as they're emitted to the extent that they have any reality, which they definitely kinda do in that they have observable effects on space when it's either very empty or very small.

The other distinction is that a covalent bond, the sort you're thinking is two atoms sharing one electron, in that case I think it's pretty reasonable to say that the two atoms are, for pretty much all purposes, touching at that point, since they can not be separated without the expenditure of energy to break that bond. The case that scientists are generally talking about when they bust out this Fun Fact at parties is when two electrons try to get near each other at the edge of a shoe and the ground rather than when two atoms bond, so you're right about the thing you're thinking of, but the scientists making this observation are also right about what they're discussing, I think OP of that post made it with the understanding that people would recognize it as being this argument rather than one about bonds, but it requires having been exposed to it before to do that, which not everyone has done! Obviously we’re supposed to draw some parallel between Moby Dick the actual whale and Charlie the human whale, but, like, why? What shallow fucking bullshit! Can you even map one on top of the other at all? Has anyone ever read Moby-Dick and thought, “wow, what a pathetic loser” about the whale? The ungraspable phantom of life himself???? Thin people don’t think of fat people as powerful and inscrutable phantoms—they’re absolutely positive they can scrute everything about us, our “everything” being CHEESY BUGLES! Hence this movie!!!!! Don’t talk about my favorite book, DARREN. I don’t come to your house and explain The Mystery Method wrong! Anyway, then Charlie uses his cursed rusty mobility aids to turn out the light and go to sleep. Spooky!

While Charlie is in the bathroom crying (really), Thomas shows up again and Ellie introduces herself: “What’s more surprising—that a gay guy has a daughter, or that someone actually found his penis?” Wow, once again, thank you so much to Darren Aronofsky and playwright Samuel D. Hunter for spending TEN YEARS on this extremely humanizing screenplay! I feel seen, unlike my own genitals!!!

Charlie is so moved that he goes, “You wrote these amazing, honest things… You’ve all been so honest with me. I just want to be honest with you too.” And then he TURNS ON HIS WEBCAM and SHOWS THEM HIS HUGE FACE AND BODY! All the students lose it and they’re grimacing and cowering before him and taking pictures of the screen, LOL, even though literally it just looks like a regular guy???????? It’s a Zoom square! It looks like a close-up of a guy’s face! No one would have any reaction to this! If there’s one thing this movie does perfectly, it’s trick thin people into telling on themselves about how uncomfortable they are around fat people!

Then Liz comes back and reveals that, LMAO, what happened to Alan is that he starved himself to death (kind of), and that’s why now Charlie has to EAT himself to death. Wooooooow, who wrote that brilliant juxtaposition? Grover??? Is this supposed to be profound? It's less nuanced than when people say “the terrorists hate our freedom”! Actually, you know what? This detail with Alan is the central problem with this entire movie: Being thin is not the opposite of being fat!!!!!!!! STARVING IS NOT THE OPPOSITE OF EATING. Having a body is a complex state! [...] Then they clarify that actually Alan starved himself ALMOST to death and then jumped off a bridge. Jumping! The most thin-privilege way to die!

sorrynotsorry bout all the whale poasting but this review by lindy west was very cathartic for me! its a shitty movie and extremely triggering not just for fat people but anyone with any sort of complicated feelings around food and your own body tbh. so im sharing it here. butt news has a free subscription and lindy west is hilarious so. go read it and maybe read some other reviews too

i'm not sure if i like this version of hated john better than the original hmmm.... his voice is certainly more dynamic but it doesnt feel like he's used to singing like that haha. a lot of voice effects being used too. i guess it's not better or worse it's just different p: instrumental sounded identical to the original to me but i'll have to relisten, i wasnt paying much attention to it

Well it was another Week and I'm as frustrated at work as ever

But yesterday I went to karaoke for the first time since the pandemic began. So the first time in more than four years. Wasn't sure I'd really go until I was outside the building. The last time I tried to do solo karaoke (again, four+ years ago), they turned me away for being alone. But they've made it easy now to check in by yourself, so no awkward convos with employees disappointed that you'll be using a room by yourself haha. I even checked online that solo karaoke was okay at the place I was going and it all looked good.

Expected to feel really weird about singing by myself to bad karaoke tracks, even though I used to go fairly often and never felt weird about it. And after the first couple songs, I really got into it, and had a great time. When I'm in a group I have to be more careful what songs I pick because the type I like to sing are not songs people like to hear at karaoke lol. If I were an amazing singer I guess they'd tolerate me buuuut not only am I a very average singer, I'm also very rusty hahaha. Going alone means I can sing "Memory" in three languages over and over again if I want to. No one's there to be annoyed!

And I got dinner there too: okonomiyaki, shiso rice ball, cheesy potato mochi, and fries. Healthy? No. Delicious? Yes. And cheap! After two hours, my total for both the room and the food was 2600 yen - less than twenty US dollars. (Ohhhh exchange rate how you sucker-punch me...) I'm sure the company doesn't like that I usually don't order alcohol while alone >_> but anyway. So I got to eat my favorite foods and sing badly to my heart's content. It was tempting to do a third hour, and I might next time, but it's been so long since I sang anything that my voice was feeling pretty strained, even though I keep the music volume low. (Another thing that always bugs me with group karaoke: everyone else always wants the music volume so damn loud! Never understood why. Can't hear anything except the objectively terrible karaoke tracks! Also at group karaoke I can never order the food I want either lol going alone is infinitely superior fuck having friends bahahahaha)

Really glad I went and didn't talk myself out of it because of fear of feeling embarrassed by myself while by myself. It was nice to learn that I haven't lost the part of me that has no compunctions about just doing whatever the fuck I want as long as I'm alone. Staff were really nice too. Didn't bat an eye at a foreigner showing up even though there were no English translations except for English songs.

WIP from November 3rd, 2023 A case of me doing something completely different and then it derailed, but not in a bad way this time! In my "do whatever" art days before college I used to just make something up for one scene/illustration, the art equivalent of free writing I guess. Free designing? I used to do that all the time (I think most artists do), and I'm not sure why I stopped outside of wanting to finish a project for once. But this is a good reminder that I can just make characters without having to immediately make it A Thing™, even if I decide to later on. I think I've been restricting myself too much in that regard lately, as if doing this is "less important" than my active project work. An easy trap to fall into! My New Year's resolution for 2023 is to do more illustration work though, so hopefully I can finish this before the end of the year and add it to my goal of 5 finished pieces. The title/logo is just as random, though me coming up with a title based on vibes is very common for me lol. It's a good springboard for expanding the concept later on, if I feel like it. "That's life!" was a common phrase I heard growing up from the more cynical people in my life, though with more ghostly imagery here maybe it could take on a more literal meaning as well. Even though it's pretty minimal here, oh boy am I rusty at backgrounds! As usual! :') I did better with the colours than I thought I would though, I made this while being incredibly sleep deprived so I waited until after sleeping to post it just in case. Luckily I still like it! I hope you do too :) If I ever stop drawing magical characters with animal inspirations assume I've perished lmao

what i draw

i draw a lot of fanart of whatever interests me! so please don't follow me if you only want to see fanart from one thing lol. all pieces considered fanart can be found in the #fanart tag.

the most consistent subjects i draw is vocaloid (mainly the mascot characters and how they appear in different songs) and fe awakening (mainly robin, of either gender).

i also have ocs that i might occasionally subject you to. you can read detailed info about them on my toyhouse (linked in my carrd). by the way, all art of my oc can be found in the #mayors ocs tag~

supplies and brushes!

in case you're curious about the things i use to make my art, here it is. i like making both traditional art and digital art depending on how i feel.

traditional supplies

paper - i almost always draw in sketchbooks. for full colored pieces, i'm fond of strathmore's visual journal sketchbooks (the ones i'm using atm are mixed media). for on-the-go sketches and doodles, i use a notebook with dotted paper, nothing fancy. sketching - i like using a red grading pencil (essentially a waxy colored pencil with an eraser) for sketching since markers and paint blend into it which means less erasing. i also use a regular mechanical pencil or gel pen for concept sketches or doodles. inking - there's a lot of inking tools i like! i like using staedtler pigment liners for simple lines and hatching, as well as tombow brush pens for quick line weight. markers - my primary coloring tool. while they're not perfect, i primarily use ohuhus; they're great if you're starting out since they're quite cheap! i also use a grab-bag of other marker brands like tombow or copics, but those are my mains. colored pencils - prismacolors, baybee!! i mainly use these for lineart and additional shading and texture. paint - also far from perfect, but i use the himi jelly gouache for paintings even though i'm kinda ass at it. i also used to use a very crusty windsor & newton watercolor kit. as for brushes, idk i inherited most of mine and they work fine.

digital stuff

program - i use procreate on an ipad to draw digitally. i know it's basic but it gets the job done for me default brushes i like - among the brushes that come with procreate, the ones i like are: HB pencil (sketching), 6B pencil (sketching), technical pen (inking), gel pen (inking), honeyeater (vintage), and campagnia (vintage). would like to make a detailed brush list eventually TwT brush packs i like - i download a lot of brushes, but these packs are ones i absolutely swear by. all are free! jingsketch basics is a must-get for anyone that likes digital painting. i use "soft chalk" to render. rusty rakes is a set of textured line brushes i love to use to add extra hatched textures to my paintings. mainly rely on rr dark. i also use a halftone brush to add texture to my art, but unfortunately i cannot find it or the author! will update when i do~

I think (although I'm not 100% sure) that the topic of HP has been discussed here before, but I can't find those posts, so I'll just write what comes to my mind (if it's the same as what that person wrote, I apologize to them) - what if Matthew was a wizard and Spider would have inherited his magic? He would attend Hogwarts from the age of 11 (I don't know what house he would be in, I think Gryffindor or Huffelpuff but I can't choose) and he would only come back to Mccosker for holidays. Let's assume that the action of Custody takes place during the holidays. After being kidnapped, would Spider have told Quaritch the truth about his origins? What would Quaritch think about this? Would he let Spider do some magic? Any other thoughts of yours on this topic?

Yeah there was at least one HP question before (I prob just tagged it the same as all the other questions, so it's likely unfindable aha!)

So I agree on Spider being a Huffledor or Gryffinpuff, he's such a good mix of the two imo! I reckon he'd be a lot less concerned about how the McCoskers view him because he'd have so much extra structure from his boarding school life.

I haven't read all the books and I'm generally a bit rusty, but my recollection is you don't tell non-magic people about magic? (Muggles?) So I feel like Spider wouldn't jump to tell Quaritch. (Also, surely that means he could come up with something to help him escape which would be completely unexpected and totally blow Q's mind?)

What interests me with this question is if Matthew was a wizard then would he and Spider possibly have crossed paths in a way they haven't in the fic? If they cross paths, do they have a bond now? With that in mind, would Spider even still be at the McCoskers? Do they get to take their wands home from school - and if so does Spider having his wand on him or not on him affect what he can do while with Quaritch? I feel like I have more questions than answers on this one lol.

In terms of how Quaritch would react to magic... if he hadn't believed in it or been aware of its existence then that's life changing and no doubt he'd have some fear around what it could do. I do think he'd be open to Spider explaining (if Spider was so inclined) and even demonstrating as long as they'd discussed beforehand. His wider concern would be if the magic would cause him to lose Spider (Spider is too powerful for him, can escape, or Spider has powerful magical friends, can escape or Spider's magic will draw enemies to Spider who could harm him etc). If he could accept that magic was real and Spider wanted to live with him and use it (safely) I doubt he'd have a problem with that.

Sorry if this wasn't a thorough enough answer - it's a very interesting question and I think could make an interesting crossover, but my HP knowledge just isn't that great 😅
