found a baby yaku amidst the Sketchbook-glitch-corruption wreckage..... wondering if he flipped skin tones between black and red and everything in between until he saw his to-be-grandparents (and started mimicking THEIR skin tone....... )

#thinking about yakumo having weird lil homunculus proportions or other such variations #what if he just always had massive hands compared to body size. yaoi hands from birth-transformation #he was so anti-snake that he looked at hands and said YES. THIS IS THE LEAST SNAKEY I CAN BE. I WILL GO 600% ON THIS FEATURE SPECIFICALLY #changing forms from entirely obsidian... or red in patches.... or striped... or other combinations...#because he only had murals to base his human form off of? at least at first?#were the murals in colour? shaded with gradients and lighting oh so conveniently?#then how was he to know what skin tone humans are supposed to have???#imagining the first few times he encountered his grandparents in his cave #maybe they only saw a shadow with eyes darting back into the darkness #just a really long black noodle with semisnake semihuman eyes (just a hint of sclera)#and every time they visited #yakumo observed more of their features #and took on something similar to their proportions...? or hair colour? or skin colour?#and maybe even when he's first adopted into the family and leaves the cave #he's still a vibrant pink and everyone thinks he somehow got sunburnt inside a cave or smth #but then he starts seeing all the other people in the village #including diff age groups and kids who are supposedly around his age #so he starts to slowly morph his body toward those characteristics #his skin gets beige-r. reshapes his eyes a bit.... grows a bit of nose.....lengthens his limbs a bit...#(the big humans seem to treat me the same as that speCIFIC group of smaller humans... so maybe i should use them as a Model)#like... how do you even age in a human body when you have no reference for how humans age?!??!#did yakumo stare at several children in the village and watch their growth year by year #and match his body to their changes just to fit in?#did nature just know what to do?? and he just naturally grew like a human without manual manipulation?#I DEMAND ANSWERS #nu carnival yakumo

I think it’s funny that at the ripe age of 22 years old, I got a sunburn for the literal first time of my life

I spent all day figuring out how to do this (modded playermodel) (very fancy) but to be honest I don't even intend to use this skin at all so I don't know what was the point of the effort. Also I saw a spider

#I had to turn off my shaders because the colors on her face are too pale so she became a flashbang.#But now the color i made her face is slightly too pink so she looks kind of sunburnt. I dont know if I count this.#I still find this character's design stupid in a way i dont know how to resolve so I've only posted her in semi-unrecognizable forms.#(very small before and now squared.)#Luckily she's not for anything important at all I only picked her for this because she has so much sticking out of her design #that it would justify the effort of using her to test making custom models...#like i would HATE doing the wings and tail on a normal model. Just one is bad enough but she has both.#I actually do remember why I did all this. It was because I miss doing minecraft skins for money. they should give you a minimum 20 years after coming back from school to rest and process everything that happened

#seriously #im so overstimulated #this is the reason i've been inactive lately #even after coming home we've got so much homework from every subject #and i've got extra classes for math and physics everyday #aside from that I have to study on my own too or else I can't understand anything the next day #other problems include:#im in a new school but stuck with the same old feelings of loneliness and exclusion #felt like crying multiple times because teachers keep targeting me #I live like 20 minutes away from my school i've walked to and from there before+there's plenty of kids way younger than me who walk #but my mother's still convinced i'll get sunburnt and die so I have to listen to my father yelling at me about how he hates having to pick #me up. like dude I don't like this either!!#honestly I was doing fine until yesterday #I made like one friend who I stuck with for the first few days of school so I didn't really talk to anyone else #but now he's got a new friend and is ignoring me so.#umm on a positive note they have a big library here. that's cool.#and they've got a basketball team! kind of scared I won't make it though I haven't actually played in a while #trey's terrors

I’ve been awake for 38 hours. It is BED time.

#mott txt #I’ve been running our big salt kiln. it’s rough out here #I wish other ppl in my class would step up and be willing to learn to actually run it #it’s an out door kiln and it’s been snowing and cold so I’m cold to the bone #but also my face is sunburnt all to hell from checking the spy holes and all that. bc it runs at 2000 degrees #also I loaded it practically by myself and with the help of one other person.#which is batshit considering this kiln is the size of a small room #pisses me off that ppl make all this work and can’t be assed to learn how to load and fire the kilns #like hello. I’m also a student who has other classes not your fucking studio tech #but I’m president of our club and my profs intern so if no one shows up oh well. it’s on me to still do it all #I have a few people in our advanced class that do help a lot but they can’t watch the kiln by themselves #it’s a pretty complicated kiln and none of them know enough to run it.#idk what they’ll do next semester when I’m student teaching…..but that’s none of my business #anyways. this is an incredibly niche problem huh #welcome to the world of ceramics. if you’re firing in big kilns it’s an incredible community effort to load and fire them #but sometimes you get stuck with a bunch of lazy asshats #and I prefer my work in this kiln so I have no choice but to run it bc I want it to look nice #sigh #is anyone even still reading. sorrry I’m just sleep deprived and dumping in the tags lol

I hate being sunburnt

#for context I was out today at a volunteering event for my university #we were helping a couple clear up their arena on their horse ranch #but basically we spent 4 hours out in the Texas sun #I was an idiot and decided not to put on sunscreen since I didn’t get sunburnt all summer #but now I realize that that only happened because I wore long pants and a jacket during summer meaning I couldn’t really get sunburnt #though I suppose also I don’t actually have any sunscreen so #but anyways now I’m paying the price #my arms burn #I’ve put like 2 coatings of aloe vera on my arms and they still burn #I want to put on more but the bottle recommends I don’t put on more than 3 or 4 a day #*sigh* it’s been a while since I got sunburnt so I don’t remember how long it takes #but I hope it goes away soon #real life stuff #sunburn #random stuff #sorry I just need to complain about it

oh and related to my previous reblog, I know it's fun to make fun of white people getting sunburnt and all but! You can get sunburnt regardless of skin colour if you stay under direct sunlight for too long with no protection, it's just less visible, making it a bit more insidious.

Proper summer sun etiquette is avoiding direct sunlight around 12-4 pm, staying very hydrated, wearing a cap/hat, wearing sunscreen on exposed skin (though I don't do that because I am stupid and stubborn), wearing sunglasses, either light coloured or bright coloured clothes (DO NOT WEAR DARK CLOTHES), and yeah!

Best hours to go to the beach for all of you sea enjoyers are early morning hours (personally nothing beats going for a swim at 6 am in the morning and I am dead serious) or late afternoon hours like about 5pm and on. Do not be stupid when going to the beach. I know going for a swim at 1 pm when it's super hot sounds very appealing but it's a bad idea. And ofc stay hydrated!!!! Swimming for a while might make you forget that you still need to drink (fresh) water!
