karenfukuhara my peoples ❤️ been a crazy couple of years on the set of The Boys and in honour of the last upcoming season, I thought I’d post a few pics of the friends who’ve become like my family. Grateful to play such an awesome character like Kimiko and even MORE grateful for my film family. There’s been some stressful days since entering such a big project, but I’m thankful that they’ve always been my biggest supporters, checking up on me and always making sure I’ve got somebody to turn to for help. .The initial idea for him was Grave Robbing Pirate and honestly the beard options came through for me like nothing else. Guaranteed I was going to go for muttonchops/sideburns before I even knew what the CC looked like, but idk they looked a little patchy sometimes and that is NOT what Farid is about 👏 The whatever it is he has now is iconic for him, I tried making him as an elf but it was Cursed and Never-to-Be-Seen-Again. Also the balding ponytail? I saw it, and I was like yeah that’s it, that’s him, that’s exactly what I’m about.

.Also it is absolutely insane to me that he’s the first draft, I got him in one go with a little fine tuning once I figured out how the CC works. Especially considering how ugly Goddard turned out as the Inquisitor 😭😭 but now I HC he just sends somebody over in his place to act as a go between, ain’t no way he’s traipsing around with Morrigan lmao. I did make a crummy Blackwall Inq so I could get Dorian to call him Amatus 👹 Pavwall Canon UNLOCKED. (I wonder if you could make the Iron Bull tho?? Sans wide horns ofc.)

.Some facts about my Rook, Farid Thorne, and his story below 💕🫡.

.His mother is Therasia Thorne, a Rivaini Dalish elf who left her clan for the calling of the sea, and he is an absolute mama’s boy. Will do absolutely anything she asks with very little, if any, questioning. He doesn’t know (and most likely never will) who his father is, as the man bought Therasia’s silence over their affair with two galleons and a frigate. On a side note, Therasia was known for seducing very rich men and getting pregnant in order to blackmail them. Most of the time the fathers would pay up, and there has only been one instance of the father agreeing to take the baby off her hands, her bluff was called and she regretfully left her son behind.

.He adores expensive textures, silk, dragon scales, gold, fine lace, alamarri sheep wool, phoenix feathers. If he wasn’t a career criminal turned conscript he would have been a tailor. He owns (or used to own) several dresses/robes that he would just lounge about in naked to feel the fabric against his skin. Doesn’t really think too much of leather though, it can be stiff and often chafes the skin, which is strange because he’s very much a rope man.

.He waxes most of his body hair off, and keeps everything nice and tidy. He also puts coloured powder in his open wounds to preserve the shape of them as they heal, true to his mother’s traditions.

.Has kept his face completely bare of tattoos (apart from the fish he got when he was fourteen) in an honour to his Dalish heritage; he knows he won’t ever get valaslin because he’s only a half-elf, but the prospect of it keeps his face bare.

.Is fascinated by machinery and spent a great deal of time perfecting his own tools. His own frigate was equipped with self made trident ballistas, each one would fire three harpoons (individually or all at once) secured with thick chains, crafted to hunt and bring down large game, dragons, and smaller fleeing ships.

.In tune with his love for crafting, he follows June, and not the Maker. Though he does keep this to himself and those he considers family. If asked he just says he doesn’t believe in the Maker, and refuses to elaborate.

.Absolutely fucks, big family kind of guy. He is one of nineteen children, and has nine of his own by five different women, though he assumes there’s more because he was very much a leave before the sunrise kind of guy. Now he’s matured with being in the Wardens and has been less of a dick about it all. Whether or not he’s got any chance of knowing those kids who knows 🤷‍♂️.

.Never told anyone about his past when he became a Warden, the only people who know are those who were privy to his conscription, and the higher up Wardens upon receiving his arrest and conscription reports. Most people know he’s a conscript however, he doesn’t shy away from that, and he’s had a dozen or more rumours spread about him within the order. Evka was the first person to say he was a good Warden and back him up, and I think that solidified him as a third wheel to her and Antoine.

.He was actually conscripted by order of my HoF Andrastopher Cousland, as a favour returned. Andrastopher wanted aboard his ship when the Inquisition was seeking out a new leader,(there was no way he was becoming a religious figurehead lmao) and he stayed there for a good six months or so before Zevran joined them, and another two months before returning back to Thedas. They… uh… yeah 🥴🤫.

.If he was a companion his questline would probably follow trying to kill his older brother Galo after receiving a plea for help from his sister in law Aadiyah. Turns out Galo is either a) helping the Antaam navigate the seas uncontested or b) capturing and selling slaves to the Venatori. The big question at the end would be whether to tell their daughter that he’s her dad or to let her believe Galo was her father considering he HAS just murdered him, and she has several siblings that Galo fathered too.

.His gift would be an ornamental smoking pipe or a hookah, his room would be an observatory, full of navigational maps and constellations, there would be a small tailors work bench on one side of the room complete with mannequin and a sewn outfit that would slowly complete over his personal questline. His bed would be a row boat full of pillows.

.His almost kiss scene would be him explaining that he’s no good, his past actions are very much coming to bite him in the ass, and that you should really stop flirting with him. Does he want you to stop? No. Is he going to lean in to try and kiss you? Yes. Is he going to remember that everything is playing out as it does before and pull away because he knows he’s not good enough for you? Yes.

.His romance lock in scene would be stargazing on the beach in Rivain, he’d point out a couple constellations, talk about his time seafaring (minus all the murdering and pillaging). You’d get the option to ask about a few different ones (leading to locking out of the romance) or a secret fourth one and he’d absolutely bullshit some made up romantic story that parallels him and you, and you’d call bullshit because YES it is bullshit, and he’d say something awfully sappy about making it “our constellation” and then 💋💋💋.

.The actual romance scene would be that he turns up completely naked in your room, he’ll ask if you want the Captain or the Warden, and you uh choose and uh ye a hh haha ahaaaaa 😳🥴.

Ok, so here they come! 😎

The first idea I had was inspired by the scene of Caracalla near the end when Geta lashes out at him!

Now I know things like autism/adhd won’t have been mentioned or thought about until years and years later but it just got me thinking of a reader who acts in a similar way to Caracalla! 👀

She doesn’t interact much with anyone outside of Geta (her husband) or her brother in law unless it’s during an event held in their honour (which probably happens a lot!) Largely due to her husband wanting to keep her safe and away from any risks of harm but also because she just can’t cope well with loud/big events!

She also has a pet like her brother in law, though like him she sees them as more of a friend, someone beyond her husband who she feels she can be herself with without fear of being judged! 🥹

Perhaps one day when she’s braved attending a fight per her husbands want to have her by his side (yes, he’s probably slightly possessive and protective but hey, it’s Geta!) something happens, similar to the arrow incident in the film, that puts her life at risk and leads the Emperor to handing out his own judgment! 😳❤️

A quiet drink. That had been the idea... When Copia had asked you for a quiet drink, just the two of you, away from the bustle of touring with the Ghost project, you had jumped at the idea.

You'd both been pretty stressed on this tour - equipment malfunctions, venues trying to push you out based on your beliefs, abhorrent weather...

So a quiet drink, with your beloved, sounded wonderful.

Until it wasn't.

Copia and you sat at the bar, turned towards each other on your stools and sipping on cocktails you were getting him to try. So far, he was enjoying a fruity 'zombie', only appealing to him for the name and the fact you had told him it tasted like one of his tropical juice boxes he loved so much.

You were giggling at his "Mmmmhhmmmmmm, delizioso!" when someone tapped you on the shoulder.

"Well hey there, pretty darlin'," a thick southern accent came from the tall, burly, hairy man stood behind you, leaning on the bar with a toothpick between his teeth.

Quite the typical southern gentleman, you thought to yourself. Complete with lumberjack costume, it would seem.

"Uh... hi," you awkwardly smiled.

"You come here often?" he asked as you turned your back to him. You rolled your eyes at his pathetic cliché and turned back to him, annoyance bubbling away beneath the surface.

"Just when I'm looking for a sacrifice, really," you mocked.

"What?" he scrunched his nose in disgusted confusion.

"What?" you mimicked, mock disgust in your own expression. The stranger shook his head to pass the moment and continued.

"Can I buy you a drink?" he asked, already flagging down the bartender who waltzed on over, until eh saw your dark stare and small shake of your head and turned on his heels in the opposite direction, too afraid to even attempt it...

"No," you deadpanned.

"Why not?" Lucifer, this guy was persistent. Copia shuffled on his stool, uncomfortable and unsure of how to help. This guy was at least a foot taller than him, wider too, and he felt small in comparison.

"You can't afford it," you shrugged. The lumberjack stood up from his leaning position, puffing out his chest in anger.

"I fuckin' can," he argued, trying his best to intimidate you where you sat - as if that was gonna make you say 'sure, Mr. Lumberjack, now I'm smitten and want to get married and have lots of little lumberjacks with you'.

You swivelled on your stool, looking him up and down slowly, brows knitting in confusion at his appearance.

"Oh, so you... dress like this... for fun?"

"The fuck is wrong with you, bitch?" he raised his voice at you, squaring up to you. Copia stood quickly, coming between you both in a show of sudden protection. It was instinctual, at this point.

"Hey, man," he said, sounding less than confident... "don't talk to her like that," he defended.

"The fuck you gon' do about it, huh?" This caveman doesn't understand full sentences, huh? He pushed Copia's shoulders, making him stumble into you. You kept him upright with a hand on his back.

"She doesn't want a drink with you, she's my girlfriend and she's having a drink with me, eh?" Copia was getting mad now, opting for defending your honour.

"Your girlfriend? HA! This bitch got weird fuckin' taste, man," he chuckled, pushing Copia again.

You saw red then, the stress of touring and the anger at this stronzo culminating into an amalgamation of absolute rage. You stood up, coming between your Papa and this ridiculous man, pushing him back and making him take a step.

"Bitch, what are you-" he began, until you interrupted him with a deafening SLAP to his face. He held his cheek, starting to step to you again but you didn't give him the chance, pushing him back paired with a swift kick to swipe his legs from under him.

Copia watched on, frozen in shock with eyes wide. When you turned back to him, he looked like a little lost puppy dog.

You looked down at the heap of a man you'd floored and smirked, pulling Copia to you by his shirt and slamming your lips to his - clearly a display of 'fuck you, I'm his and his only'.

Copia's arms flailed as you pulled him, only composing himself to kiss you back as the lumberjack stood and strode off in a huff, muttering about how much of a bitch you were.

When you drew your lips from Copia, you held him still by the shirt, smirking.

"Let's get out of here," you invited, a sultry hint to your voice - a promise of more displays of dominance to come through the evening. "Get your coat," you ordered.

He nodded wordlessly, scrambling to get his coat from the back of his stool and running to catch up to you, already striding proudly out of the bar.

Copia was in for a night of stress relief that he'd never forget...

I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).

It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!

How Most Magical Contracts Work~

⚠️ Spoilers ⚠️ Ahead ⚠️🍒

Because we're (and by we I mean @smol-grey-tea and @cherrychipheart with me~~) figure out how the whole Cheritzverse AKA Grimm Society works, please consider this as part of one of my theories to add onto it >.<

It's taking me forever so I hope you guys like it. Without further ado~

Magical Binding Contract: Simply physically impossible to break. Sometimes it is implied that the magic punishment for breaking a clause is somehow contingent on the permission being given by the one who signed the contract. (It's interesting here but in The Ssum Harry breaks the contract, and Rachel tries the same thing, and both of them have several issues with the whole engagement thing because it's not something you can break just by breaking the paper, now reading this, makes me think 🧐 because it is said that they have to pay a huge sum but such number is never said~ and I don't think it's just because of money but the way it's handled... it's way too sketchy. Is it just me?)

However, and many times as safety 'insurance' this may be used as the only option if no other way of exchange is presented. The magic makes everything to stay put. Both sides need to play their part and that how it makes sense that they use it more often.

If something taught me Ursula at the age of 3 or 4 was to ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT~ seriously, the lesson stuck. 😳

Leonine Contract: is a very old principle of law that a leonine contract is not a free contract. Generally speaking anyone will side with you except if there's a Magically-Binding Contract, then you're in real trouble. Even under most civil law codes, there's a good chance that you can be freed from a contract if the other party was obviously exploiting an emergency situation. Like~~~ even in the Ancient Roman Law of Obligations, a "Societas Leonina" (a corporation in which one participator reaps all the profit, and another carries all the losses) was an invalid one! That says it all! Anyways~ loopholes are still permitted.

Curse Escape Clause: For every magic spell/curse to have a condition that negates the effect.

Now, oaths are powerful things. They bind demons. They bind honour. They create pacts that grant great power. They are things to be respected, feared, and fulfilled.

Once broken an oath of some sort thing, be it magical or mundane, a debt... is to be paid, and now is forever branded by his/her misdeed. This is seen most often than not as a mark of shame. It almost always brands the character as a pariah until they manage to restore their lost honour. So unless they are released from their contract this will bind them for whatever term it stated or until whatever condition was required is fulfilled — forever if neither was fulfilled.

Unless you're let off.

Contradictory Oaths may lead to Reality-Breaking Paradox though~

Okay so for starters, good and bad are human concepts. Hence no Yuuko or The Wizard in Cheritzverse seem too worried about it okay? Actually~ lol if we're to enter magical worlds no one is too worried about such things because you can solve most things via magic~🙃 unless you can't ofc

So for Yuuko customers must pay a price in order to grant their wishes, which can be no more or no less than the one demanded, or else harm will come to one's way.

She is a dealer in wishes as she will grant the sincere wish of anyone who is willing to make an appropriate sacrifice in return; the price is always equivalent to the weight of the wish, no more, no less.

This goes to keep the balance in this universe which is very delicate~ and also, to keep the cause/effect in action otherwise known as karma.

So to understand this type of contracts you need to understand how the universe according to Buddhism/Hinduism works~ in theory.

Anyways you can obviously see that the Wizard uses a similar analogy, however his way of expressing himself is way more twisted as he sets games for everyone to achieve their wishes. Making of it a whole competition, basically.

And he also lacks of many things, as it is compassion, humility, charisma, forgiveness or generosity... but that's another story because I have yet to finish Dandelion. 🤭😬 Yes~ sorry I could not help myself but to do this despite all the things I have against.

Something I noticed though~~ it's that depending on the contract he might not be able to change it even if he actually wants to so he might play it off like he doesn't~ or maybe he actually doesn't, but well at least this gives us an idea of what kind of contracts he uses no?
