2. Up - oh my god. it’s just so beautiful. the storytelling in the opening scene is beautiful. despite there being no words, you can fully understand an entire lifetime of events. you can tell the ups and downs of their lives just through lighting and emotion. kinda crazy. anyways, that’s just one part, so enough about that. yk, one of my fav tropes is literally found family, soo, obviously i love up. and putting that new found family over something that you’ve been looking up to your entire life and sacrificing that dream? mwah. i love it. and also, talking dogs!! flying house!!!!! like, when you really think about it, it’s actually really random. but it doesnt feel random. i never once questioned it. it’s just… neat! and i love that

3. How to Train your Dragon 1 + 2 - grew up with httyd since the age of 4 or 5. i remember when the second movie came out, and i was begging for the dvd the instant i heard about it. my mom surprised me with it one day after school, and i began watching as soon as i got home. ive always just been a huge fan of dragons (though i wasnt a wings of fire kid) and i’d draw them literally everywhere. i even made a tiny clay toothless! the movies themselves are gorgeous. hiccup’s journey is not just about gaining toothless’ trust, but also his whole friends and family. it took him a lot of courage to go against berk’s norm of slaying dragons, but the end result turned out extremely satisfying, clearly worth the struggles and sacrifices he made along the way. also, it kinda is found family. and httyd 2 was just pretty cool, man, i dunno. showed that berk wasnt the only threat to dragons, and that not everything was just instantly sunshine and rainbows. shit can still happen. life’s rough, man. now hiccup has to deal with responsibility and maturity. and also hiccup’s mom is my fav character she’s literally sooo cool. ig im not that emotionally attached to the 3rd film. i also found it odd that they just.. left. even though the movies r about dragons. i usually do like bittersweet endings, but i dunno, just wasnt a fan of this one. that’s just my personal opinion tho :]. but yeah httyd 1+2 r my fav movies of all time probably. just not my #1 COMFORT movie.

4. Star Wars 1-6 - starting with the originals (cuz i have more to say about the prequels), i just think they’re cool! i mean, this innocent little guy suddenly just got thrown into a bunch of space war stuff and now he’s gonna beat up his dad and shit which is absolutely bonkers but in a /pos way. loss of innocence is also rad lime damn we get to watch this dude learn and stuff. also they’re just pretty iconic and i respect them cuz they’re classics yk. ok anyways the prequels i love them yes rots is my fav sw movies and you cant stop me. i love clone wars too and i love researching about the history of the jedi and stuff like that. watching anakin and obi-wan develop as characters and the comparisons/contrasts of how they react to different situations really just intrigued me. even from the start, you can tell how they’re completely different people, and that a betrayal was pretty much bound to happen. i also love shakespeare heheh

5. Ratatouille - oh man. hear me out. there is just something so simple and calming about this film that makes me happy. ok first of all i love france and it’s pleasing to look at and the aesthetic is nice lol. ok anyways so remy is literally the coolest guy ever. takes risks, even if it means he’ll be looked down upon by his family. kinda reminds me of hiccup im ngl. except, instead of only his family not approving of his actions, neither does humanity. and hell, he doesnt even get the credit for the food in the end. but he doesnt even care, cuz he’s doing what he loves. he has people around him who love him, and that’s enough. it’s just so wholesome!!

6. Words Bubble Up like Soda Pop - IT’S CUTE. IT’S ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. omg. as a person who’s also insecure about some parts of my body, it kinda hit hard. and it rlly shows how there r also gonna be people who genuinely appreciate those parts of you. this movie didnt have anything like really crazy going on, nothing huge, but that’s what i like about it. it was just kinda about life ig, and how to enjoy it. just a simple lil’ romance. also the art style is amazing!! the colors are so bright, but they dont disturb you at all. it’s just pretty! sometimes i’d pause the movie just to take in all the beautiful views. and i love how the line work looks, too. outlined shading is always cool. it’s actually what motivated me to focus on art more, and give me the courage to even consider going to art school and pursuing it as a career. aaa this movie just makes me so happy :]

7. Howl’s Moving Castle - to be honest, i had no clue what was going on when i watched this. but did i like it? YES. I WAS OBSESSED. the music still gets me soo emotional i love it. the whole story is kinda vague and wacky, which is something i really like actually. i havent analyzed it that deeply since it’s a bit more complex and i havent had the time to yet, but i believe it has something to do with self esteem/discovery which is a topic i like to see and explore in art or media. additionally, the way that war is represented in this movie is downright terrifying, as it should be. the smoke and fire on the dark landscape with giant ominous aircrafts filling up the sky genuinely looks pretty darn scary. this just shows how the art is so, so good at expressing emotions through mood and color and lighting etc. i love the art, man. i love all ghibli films’ art. it’s so damn pretty, and i adore how each and every landscape has a story/inspiration behind it

Your mother and you both had a wine glass in hand, sampling different combinations the charcuterie board had to offer. Akaashi observed the way your dad didn’t reach for a wine glass of his own, opting to making himself a bite of salami and gruyere. Akaashi made his way to the refrigerator, grabbing a can from the emergency six pack he bought.

“My dad, on the other hand,” you set down the plate of katsu curry at the head of the dining table for Akaashi, and plate for you in the seat directly to his right, “He doesn’t really say much, but I promise you, he’s a total softy at heart. Don’t let the scowl fool you. He’s like, the total opposite of my mom.”

Akaashi came out of the kitchen carrying to glasses of water, setting one in front of you and one in front of himself before taking his seat at the table. “I guess opposites really do attract, huh?”

You picked up the glass to take a sip, smiling into the rim, “Yeah. I guess that explains me and you.”

Akaashi paused. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Akaashi nearly gleamed at the nod of acknowledgement from your father when he handed him a beer, nearly laughing at the discreet thumbs up you had given him from behind your mother.

Dinner went by without a hitch. Your mother made it easy, asking Akaashi about the details pertaining to his life, and offering him stories about your childhood. Akaashi audibly gulped, and you fought a snicker from your throat as your grabbed the plates from Akaashi’s hands. “Go on, I got this.”

Akaashi nodded, feeling like his shoes were made of lead as he followed your father through the sliding door that lead out to the balcony. Akaashi promptly slid the door shut behind him, your father immediately leaning over to prop his elbows on the railing.

“That’s a good view,” he mumbled, waving his hand and motioning for Akaashi to stand beside him.

“Thank you,” Akaashi answered, taking his place next to your dad, “It’s part of the reason we chose this apartment.”

Your father nodded, taking out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He brought the white stick to his lips, lighting the end before inhaling a deep drag.

“I brought you out here because I wanted to thank you,” your father started, catching Akaashi by complete surprise. “I haven’t seen her smile like that in ages.”

Akaashi was stunned, staring at your father dumbfounded as he continued to let out puffs of smoke. A couple of heartbeats pass between the two of you, Akaashi searching for the words and trying hard not to let the tears further cloud his vision.

“I’ll do anything to make her laugh like that,” Akaashi said a little too quickly, coughing over his last word, “Sir.”

Just then, your father laughed, and Akaashi found himself smiling with him.

“That’s a good man. One last thing,” your father put the cigarette out and tossed it in the empty beer can in his hand, “Don’t tell them about this cigarette, okay? I told them I quit.”

Your father gave Akaashi two pats on the shoulder, leaving Akaashi on the balcony feeling like he could just about rule the world.

This IS a bit tricky because I spent most of 2020 just lurking on AO3, no acccount, no commenting, no kudos. so there are just so so so many fics that I remember pieces of, and have little headcanons that LIVE with me but I have no idea who the author is or what the fic is called.  

so.. that being said, the top 10 is ever changing and could never be fully complete. I just love every author and every fic, you are all so wildly talented.

This fic has everything!! a sexy ex-lover rival gang leader, relaxed rio, angry rio, angsty kitchen sex rio. LOFT rio. AND it’s my favourite post-S2 reckoning of all time. There are moments in this fic that I just want to SPAM the gg writing room with. like scrap ur plans. DO. THIS.  Overall, this is such a creative and well-written series.  The characterization is superb, the smut has.... so many feelings, and the angst is AMAZING. There are a couple chapters (I wont give spoilers) that involves Beth in a hotel in Canada that I legit could not stop reading. it’s just all... so damn GOOD. favourite line: You thought I could be something, right? Well, this is that something. The bitch you trained bit back.

Whew! this fic has EVERYTHING. safe house brio. KARMA. brio ignoring each other. snippy, cranky brio. baking shows. mick overhearing loud shower sex. zero communication. brio getting high and giggling! all the feelings. I looooove this fic. like I LOVE it.  it's so creative and it feels so real!! I can play it like a movie in my head. There is so much fun smutty build up, so much tension, anxiety and a very, very, good Thaw Of Feelings which is my fav. I will forever have a soft spot for safe house fics, but this one hilariously twists the trope by doubling down on their idiot stubbornness. genius. favourite line:  He's using her and she's using him. Maybe it's the only thing they're truly equal at.

This fic has everything!!!!!!! (but TW that everything is not for everyone, as the plot primarily revoles around a rape scene.) This fic sets up some of the most soft, emotional, protective brio moments. I also adore how this author handles the delicate subject matter. I work from time to time as a crisis advcate for women and ...... this fic is so accurate and well written. All the emotions beth feels, the way rio reacts to her. everything. I have read this SO many times. It also inludes a Mick POV that will TUG at your HEART.  favourite line: *When on route to Rio’s loft* Rio nods, with that gentle look he has. "Alright, mama. Let's get you home." There's a beat, they both catch it, but neither of them make the correction.

❤  working on things - odenkirk (not on tumblr?)

THIS fic, now this fic has everything!!!!!!!!! masturbation! sexting! weed-smokin horny rio! DEAN?!??! in a way that didnt repulse me???? SEX. kinda threesome??? a heck of a lot of things that I didnt think id be into but then read it and was like HUH, guess i AM. and last but not least, deliciously perfect characterization. This is a fic I ask you to take a risk on. It will pay off. Its fun and oooh soooooooo sexy. Yes, dean goes to pound town too, but I promise- odenkirk makes it WORK.  Blush meter: off the charts. I had to put my phone down and reckon with Jesus.  favourite line:   Rio: Don't get precious, sweetheart. It's you cuz it's you.  AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS AUTHOR has EVERYTHING! FakePlastikTrees is one of those authors where... I read one fic - then buckled my seatbelt and clicked on her account so I could systematically read through every. single. fic. They are often short scenes that feel so true. Her Rio characterization makes me green with (benevolent) envy. and her smut?? oof. top notch.  This fic in particular lives in my heart because it really truly feels like a missing GG scene between Beth and our favourite tattooed babysitter. The atmosphere is tangible and the author slows time down for these two, it stretches out like you are smokin in the suburbs with them. I love a MickFic and this one is top tier. 

favourite line: “Oh come on. He’s a little unhinged.” “Takes one to know one.”

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh this fic has EVERYTHING. scrabble competitiveness! annie speaking truths! christmas beth! christmas rio?!?! delicious bickering! CABIN isolation!  gift giving perfection! I could go on and on and on.  This fic just pulls you straight in. stcs crafts the timeline so effortlessly, and weaves it with so many endearing and authentic feeling details (beth has her own ‘guys’ now, and we know this bc she gives them sweets and food. OF COURSE) The longing between her and rio is so RICH. if you want your heart to swell a million sizes - this is the fic for you.  favourite line:  They hadn’t – been intimate yet, back when she got him arrested, or the first few times he’d shoved a gun in her face. And the sexual part had been all done and dusted prior to their, god, kidnapping and shooting fiasco. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t present throughout – a hovering spectre, forming a treacherous spine through all their endeavours.

now this fic. actually for real, has everything. because its every POV you never knew you NEEDED.  and mego42 absolutely nails each and every one. especially Dean. Its a complicated look into his blubbering sexist mind, and misguided fixations that is really well-written. The way in which brio has their own arc throughout the chapters, but told through the eyes of those around them - is amazing. this fic just makes you love every character even MORE.  favourite line: well.. annie, mick and ruby have a group chat and thats all you need to know. anytime that comes up = favourite line.

be still my bisexual heart. this fic has everyONE! Yes, this fic dissolves into perfect threesome smut BUT before you get there, you get this awesome set up of a dangerous-feeling connection between Rhea and Beth. They are honest, open and fully acknowledging the fuckedupness of their desire. For how small a part Rhea has in the show - this author NAILS her voice, it’s uncanny. Both of them talking about rio? sign me up. Rio coming home to it? sign me UP.  favourite line: “Jesus,” she hears behind her. “What am I looking at right now?” Rhea smiles down on her, ignoring him, running her fingers through Beth’s hair.

Damn anon, if you find an answer to that lemme know that I need to start making myself one too haha no, for real, the best I can tell you is to decide which kind of portfolio you want to make - which art field you mean to specialize in, is what I’m saying - and then look up examples of it on youtube. There’s a lot of videos that are just people scrolling and thumbing through their portfolios and explaining what they put where and how and why, and a lot of tutorials for how to put together a portfolio as well  - it’ll take a while to figure it out for both of us, but let’s both do our best!

The team was splitting. Some thought it was needed to sign the Sokovia Accords while some thought it was unnecessary. Including your Steve Rogers. 

“Tony we need to convince Steve to sign the dam* thing. I can’t lose him too,” you stressed to Tony as he rubbed his temple. “I know y/n, I’m trying here. He’s-”

“Stubborn, trust me I know.” Sighing you stand abruptly to go see Steve. Steve is in his room overlooking pictures of Peggy Carter. 

You feel bad as you place a hand on his shoulder, “she was beautiful Steve.” You hear him sniffle as he laughs, trying to play it off, “yeah she was a doll, a gift.”

“You know you don’t need to do that. You can cry if you want to, you can miss her Steve. She was an important person in your life and she meant a lot to. I understand all that. I’m here for you.” 

Steve nodded and gave you a tight hug, “I do miss her y/n.” He breathed out. A tear fell down his cheek and lightly kissed your skin. You kissed his forehead. “You know though what I am here to discuss about.”

Steve shook his head, “I can’t believe you want to sign the accords.”

“Steve there are rules and lines we can’t cross. You need to understand this isn’t just our world, this isn’t our playground!”

Steve laughed, “what you think that I believe this a game? A joke?”

“No I don’t think that, in fact I think totally differently. People look up to you Steve,” you grasp his hands in yours. “They see you as their savior. They’re scared and sometimes don’t understand us. Thats why signing this shows that you’re on their side and you can show them that we heroes take their thinking and putting into our hearts. Plus they saw what happened with Wanda.”

“Oh c’mon y/n, you’re starting to sound like Tony!”

“Well Steve lets see, all the people only saw was that she exploded a building!”

“She’s just a kid.”

You got into his face, “and they are just people! They don’t know the in depth things of situations. They don’t know that she’s just learning, they don’t know that Tony has panic attacks, they don’t know that you have nightmares. They don’t know how much I love you, see those things people don’t see! All they see is someone to save them! When they have no hope we give them that Steve. We are their light in a darkened world. Why can’t you see that?”

“I’m sorry y/n, I can’t sign it.”

You nodded, “well then we’re done.” You walked away and could see in the clear glass of the windows his saddened reflection. 

“So this is what is has come to,” you said as you were placed on Iron Man’s side, the side of good. 

“Hello their y/n,” Steve said as he was standing opposite from you, with his team. 

You ignored him and face Tony, “are we gonna get on with this or not?”

Tony chuckled and soon you all started running two each other. You fought with Wanda first. Anger boiling within you as you used your powers on her. You used your gift to lift her in the air with smoke and drop her down harshly on the ground. 

Then it all led up to fighting Steve. “Wow this should be easy to kick your as*.”

Steve gave you a guilty face. His blue eyes seeping into your brain and making you have feelings for him all over. “Y/n I don’t think I can-”

You shut him up real fast as you used your powers on him. 

Steve rolled and hit one of the airplanes. 

“You can’t what? Hurt me? Too late Rogers, you already did.” The smoke blocked his vision and you became invisible. The smoke was everywhere. Steve looked all around until you came up from behind him and locked your legs around his neck, flipping him over. He quickly though found his place and hit you with his shield, sending you hitting the ground. 

“I don’t want to do this to you y/n. I can’t hurt you.” Steve gasped as he saw your tears. “Why? You did hurt me Steve. You chose a piece of paper over our relationship. Everything we have been through. And now you don’t want me to hurt you? You don’t want me to kick your as* after everything you put me through. Steve, I loved- still love you. But you pushed me away. I can’t go through this anymore.” You were about to puff hot smoke on him but Steve did not move. “If this is what you feel to be right then I won’t stop you.”

You put your hands out and tried to hurt him, tried to sting him but you just couldn’t. More tears came out as you stopped, “I can’t hurt you...I’m still in love with you Rogers.”

Steve motioned over to you and placed his hands on your cheek, “this is for until we meet again.” He placed his rough delicate lips over yours and kissed you. It was nostalgic. You missed the feeling. You grasped tightly onto his shoulders to deepen the kiss. 

“I will always love you y/n,” Steve gave you a charming smile. 

“I can’t never stop loving you,” you cried as you let him go on a jet with Bucky. “Until we meet again.”

Ahhh thank you so much dear!! Honestly I didn’t write those tags trying to complain or get people to hype me up and I’m so grateful for the feedback I do get but like the stuff I’m most proud of are stuff like Timshel and Halo Effect because damn let me tell you I put like maybe 60 hours of writing into halo effect alone and it took weeks and weeks of writing and rewriting and coming up with different ideas and I’m just like meh it go nowhere near the feedback something like eighteen did. I understand they’re two completely different works and that each of them have a type of people they would draw it but i can’t help but feel slightly discouraged when I see it because that’s just who I am. When I started shipping them: ive been watching the show live since like mid season 2 but i was hella dumb when i watched 2x06 and im the only cs shipper who didnt see how obvious the set up was lol but ngl i just……hated ne@l and it lead me into the anti tag where i read so many meta posts about how killian was the “anti” ne@l and how he would be good for her and i just remember i was like “well anything’s better than her ending up with him” but when 2x22 aired and hook turned his ship around for her i was like oh shit oh shit 

My thoughts: they’re everything???? true love lost souls who find home in each other (which is the BEST kind of trope) excellence. they were both so BROKEN when we met them and when they met??? and they helped HEAL each other and learn to love again??? their so powerful and i adored them with my whole heart; no show ever did with another ship what this show did with them 

What makes me happy about them: thinking about 2x06 and how closed off they were and then they found each other and got a FAMILY and someone who loved them unconditionally and they both DESERVE it

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: ooffff uhm??? i dont wanna say anything too specific fanfic writers are AMAZING. but ive always been more on the swan believer deserves better side which is really just that idk ive read fics where sometimes emma came off as a bad mom so killian could be the “hero” dad and it always feels hella heteronormative (it exists with a LOT of m/f mom/dad fics *cough cough* bellarke) and it bugs me a lot it always comes across as icky 

Things I look for in fanfic: i absolutely adored cs neighbours fics idk why??? it fits them so well but also enchanted forest aus are so good especially bc given canon we have so many of those aus and them as kids is really great: it takes away a lot of their individual pain so its always a fun au

I want to tell you this from a Sansa stan perspective. I’ve seen u mention the Vale issue where she hid it from Jon. The way I see it as that Sansa hasn’t seen Jon in years, she had to convince him to fight/come home and she had no idea how good/bad he is at fighting, she also was never close with him before, was suffering from trauma ptsd and was extremely terrified at going back to ramsay (she legit said she’d kill herself if she had to), so she basically did what she had to. Cont’d...

           Part 2- I honestly would’ve done the same thing. She knows there is no way in hell ramsay can find out abt this and she can’t tell jon bc he is too straightforward (shown when he pledged to Dany in front of cersei) and he may not have seemed as desperate to ramsay therefore giving ramsay over confidence. Now I know jon is a fan fav and ur thinking wtf she could’ve killed him. But she barely knows him? I mean she even thought arya would kill her in s7. Besides Sansa has been on her own for long..    

           Part 3- so she doesn’t have any time to leave her fate in anyone else’s hands. I think it was a last minute decision! I don’t think she wanted to go to baelish bc she knew that would be letting him back in her life. She was probably wrestling w/ the idea of doing this and ultimately decided to. I think it was smart what she did. TBH back then jon wasn’t this crazy impt part of her life, she had just reunited with him and the fear of going back to ramsay was GREATER than the fear of losing Jon!    

The Sansa/Knights of the Vale/Battle of the Bastards issue is always a hotly debated one amongst her stans and those of us who are Sansa-ambivalent.

There were a few parts of your asks anon that I didn’t entirely understand [in bold above] but I’ll try to address anyway.

Your reasoning for Sansa not telling Jon about seeking help from Baelish and the Knights of the Vale are:

Sansa doesn’t know Jon that well - “she was never close with him growing up, he isn’t crazy important to her, she doesn’t know how good/bad he is at fighting…”

She’s afraid of going back to Ramsay, said she’d kill herself before she’d let this happen.

And she was wrestling with the decision to even ask for Baelish’s help because she didn’t want to let him back into her life.

With the exception of your point about Sansa not knowing whether Jon is a good fighter or not - that’s not really relevant - anon, I think all of the above is pretty valid and generally agreed upon by most Sansa supporters and why she doesn’t tell Jon about the KOTV.

So obviously, the ordering of the episodes is incredibly important here.

We’ve got the Jon/Sansa reunion at Castle Black in 6x04, an entire episode before the Sansa/Baelish reunion in Mole’s Town in 6x05 - when Baelish tells Sansa about the KOTV being at Moat Cailin.

Jon and Sansa reunite in 6x04, it’s the first time they’ve seen family in years, they hug it out, Sansa gets cleaned up off-screen, they reconvene likely in Jon’s old office and they reminisce for a bit over soup and bad ale…but then almost immediately after reuniting, Sansa asks for Jon’s help to take back Winterfell. This is before they know about Rickon, this is before Ramsay has threatened the Free Folk Jon let south of the Wall, this is before Sansa knows Baelish has brought the Knights of the Vale North. This is before everything. Jon and Sansa haven’t been openly threatened by Ramsay yet and they have nothing but each other - no armies, no allies, nothing.

And Sansa still asks Jon to help her in that scene in 6x04.

For someone who allegedly doesn’t trust Jon, she’s already asking SO much of him. She hears in a scene off-screen that Jon assisted the Free Folk and let them south of the Wall and she immediately asks how many of them there are…hinting to Jon that she wants him to ask them to fight for her.

[Side Note] This is one of the things that pisses me off about Sansa and her stans. Daenerys gets hurled the “she’s entitled” accusation a LOT but Sansa here, in this scene with Jon, is acting SO entitled. Entitled not only to her brother’s allegiance to her and his sword - asking him to fight for her - but also entitled to the people who are possibly loyal to Jon. Sansa has never spared a second thought for the Free Folk, has never done anything to help them in any way, her story has never crossed with them at all…and yet now that she knows her brother helped them, she’s already thinking of them as potential soldiers in an army for her to take back Winterfell.

And again, at this point, they haven’t received Ramsay’s letter. They haven’t been threatened yet. And even when they do receive Ramsay’s letter, there’s still the possibility of Sansa and Jon going into exile in Essos. She’s a talented seamstress. She could be employed by some noble lady in Essos and have a comfortable living. For all she knows - before Ramsay’s letter - Rickon and Bran and Arya are dead. So why take back Winterfell? She tells Jon “We’ll never be safe” but that’s not really true. She’s got a very narrow view of the possibilities here.

Arya actually did go into self-imposed exile in Essos to become a Faceless Man - knowing there was a possibility she could be turned away - which she was at first, but she went anyway. So it was completely a possibility for Sansa as well. She just didn’t want to do that. She wanted to go home. She felt she had a right to do so. And of course, she wanted her revenge against Ramsay. Totally valid, I don’t blame her for that.

But let’s call a spade a spade.

This wasn’t for Sansa’s “safety”. Safe would be avoiding the fight altogether. Safe would be Sansa not gathering up an army of a few rag-tag Northern Houses and the Free Folk thereby painting a proverbial bullseye on her back with a sign that essentially says “Hey Ramsay, I’m right here in this military encampment, come get me.” [End of Side Note, but actually addresses anon’s second point about Sansa being afraid to go back to Ramsay…clearly, this is not the way to stay off his radar]

Getting back to the main point again, Sansa not telling Jon about the KOTV…

The whole excuse of Sansa “not trusting Jon” because she doesn’t know him that well, they were never close, etc. I think is pretty bullshit. D&D have this to say of the Jon/Sansa reunion in 6x04 in the Inside the Episode:

“The idea that after all Jon and Sansa had been through as characters that they’re finally able to put a foot back on solid ground in terms of family and somebody with whom they have a bond that runs deeper than any other bond. It was a big moment for the two of them and for us to see it played out.”

“And to learn where we’re going to go with a relationship that never really meant that much to either one of them before now means so much because at this point, they’re all that they have.”

“It’s really only the additional pull of family and finding out that Rickon Stark is still alive that forces his hand and pulls him back into this fight he was trying to step away from.

Also of note: at this point, Sansa knows Jon died. “I can’t stay here, not after what happened,” Jon tells her, “what happened” being that his men mutinied and killed him. If anyone is in further doubt that Sansa knows about Jon’s death, Tormund openly says “He died for us” when they’re negotiating with the Free Folk and Sansa doesn’t bat an eyelash. So she knows Jon died and was resurrected.

So we’ve got these two people back together, the only living family either of them have that they know of, Sansa knows Jon died, Jon knows Sansa escaped Winterfell to get away from her rapist husband. Those are MAJOR things! We’ve also got to remember, Sansa hasn’t been involved in the fantastical elements of the story thus far. She hasn’t seen magic or dragons or anything really. So to find out her brother was brought back from the dead is CRAZY. ~Honestly, I really hate that the show just glosses over that like it was as simple for Sansa to accept as, “Oh yeah, Jon had open heart surgery but he’s fully recovered now.” Like, no. This is seriously unbelievable stuff~ But regardless, Sansa knows this happened to Jon. She accepts it. We never see her question his resurrection so she must have seen his scars, spoke to Melisandre off-screen or something.

And yet, even though she knows he died, even though he’s her last living family member, even though she’s already asked him to help her take back Winterfell, Sansa doesn’t trust Jon enough to tell him about the KOTV….?

Of Sansa and Baelish’s meeting in Mole’s Town where Baelish tells Sansa about the KOTV and that they’re basically at her disposal should she ask him for his help, D&D have this to say in the 6x05 Inside the Episode:

“Sansa’s gotten pretty good at playing the game. When she sees Littlefinger though, it’s not about politics, it’s not about trying to manipulate him or anything. He betrayed her in the worst possible way and so in her mind everything that happened after that he’s to blame for it. I think it goes through her mind how satisfying it would be to see Brienne just cut him in two right here. But she doesn’t and that she doesn’t is an interesting quality of Sansa’s. That she’s started to look a couple moves ahead and she’s starting to think ‘is it possible this person will be more useful to me alive than dead?’”

“It’s funny because even as she’s trying to make a clean break with Littlefinger, Sansa is showing us the ways in which Littlefinger has shaped her way of looking at the world. With the decision not to tell Jon about the meeting with Littlefinger, with the decision not to tell Jon how she knows about the Blackfish, if she really trusted Jon, and she really was coming at this as a clean, pure Stark, she would tell the truth to her brother and the person to whom she has real allegiance at this point. For whatever reason, she holds back on that and I think that shows that Littlefinger still has some kind of a hold on Sansa.”

Granted, Dan Weiss’ line “For whatever reason” is a bit of a cop-out because it still leaves the audience wondering…okay, what is the reason? He says Baelish has a “hold” on Sansa and certainly, with what David Benioff says before about Sansa “thinking a couple moves ahead” and Baelish possibly being “useful” to her makes sense. But still, even if Baelish would be “useful” to Sansa, it doesn’t explain why she doesn’t tell Jon.

Weiss says, Jon is the only person whom Sansa has real allegiance to at this point. Yet she lies to him and manipulates him.

Going back to anon’s point about “Sansa not sure she wants Baelish back in her life” - or from what I’ve seen of some stans: Sansa doesn’t want to tell Jon about Baelish because Jon wouldn’t allow it after Baelish sold her to the Boltons, Jon wouldn’t approve, I’ve seen some people even go so far as to suggest Sansa’s afraid of Baelish…

But none of what D&D say above suggests any of that. In fact, Benioff’s quote about Sansa looking a few moves ahead indicates Sansa was already considering the offer Baelish brought to her but refused to his face because of his betrayal of her - selling her to Ramsay. She’s hurt, she feels betrayed, she knows Baelish loves her, yet she knows she needs him. Accepting his offer of help right away would make Sansa seem more forgiving than she wants to appear in Baelish’s eyes.

Or, alternatively, as suggested by Sansa’s letter, decoded above, she knew Baelish would require some sort of “reward” for his help and didn’t want to owe him, likely knowing it may even be her own hand in marriage after Ramsay’s death.

But EVEN STILL, even with everything Baelish has done, judging by Jon’s reaction after the battle “You told me Lord Baelish sold you to the Boltons…you trust him?” he wouldn’t have been opposed help from the Vale, had he known it was an offer on the table.

And this was not a last minute decision of Sansa’s. This was something she was stewing about for weeks. She had this information for a while and let’s face it, she sent this letter out to Baelish well before the battle. Again, the KOTV were garrisoned at Moat Cailin. That’s not a short distance to Winterfell. The distance as calculated HERE between Moat Cailin and Winterfell is about 350 miles. Even if it were a hundred miles, it would still take a week, longer maybe, for the KOTV to reach their destination. Not counting the travel time for the raven.

And we can’t say Sansa didn’t “know” whether or not Baelish would come through. Of course he would come through. That’s why she hesitated. Because she knew he would do whatever she asked of him. Again, she knows he’s in love with her. 

So far as Jon was concerned, if Sansa already had told Jon that Baelish was the one who brokered her marriage with Ramsay and she was afraid Jon wouldn’t want further help from Baelish because of that, Sansa could have lied and said it was her cousin Robin who was offering her his help, not Baelish. She could have made something up, anything. Baelish had gone back to King’s Landing, went to go serve the Lannisters again, whatever.

Jon knows they need all the help they can get. He’s not going to ask too many questions and he really can’t argue when there’s the promise of a mounted army of 2000 men at their disposal, especially if Sansa already has a good cover story for it - Robin Arryn, Lord Protector of the Vale, is her cousin.

There’s just really no good reason Sansa could have for not telling Jon about it. No. Reason. She lied to him about the Knights of the Vale - lie by omission - and she manipulated him using Rickon as an excuse for Jon to go to war when Sansa knew there was a very slim chance Rickon wouldn’t live.

Again, Sansa has some wins throughout GOT but she really does not impress me in the later seasons with either her attitude or her actions. She doesn’t start to put

family

first until the very last episode of Season 7 when she off-screen goes to Bran and asks for his advice on the whole Arya situation and Bran tells her Arya isn’t the one she needs to look out for, it’s Baelish. Everything before that, everything before the Baelish execution scene, Sansa is looking out for Number 1 and spends most of her screen time either undermining Jon or being sore about the fact that she’s not Queen. Sorry.

Soooo, I was tagged by @seriouslysasuke and @raendown and I’m gonna answer them both at the same time.  Thanks for the tag!  Also, if you two feel like answering my questions, I’d love to see what you have to say!

This is kind of long so it goes under a cut!

1. Outdoors or indoors? Indoors.  Maybe if mosquitoes weren’t a thing, or if bugs respected personal space in general my answer would be different. But as things are, it’s gonna have to be indoors.

2. Top 5 fave songs? This question is always torture.  *le sigh* lemme think... I’m gonna pick five off the top of my head, but they’re not in any order, that’s too hard.

3. Do you have any pet peeves?  YES.  Know-it-alls, pretentiousness, being Too Cool™ for something... stuff like that.

4. Do you have Lucky number? ehhh, idk about lucky, but I do have a favourite number

5. How would you describe your fashion sense?  Meaningful. Strategic.  I dress to make a point, as the situation demands.  I like to think I get my message across, but who knows?

6. If you could dye your hair any colour right now what would you choose? ...purple.  Ok no, probably some sort of gradient of colours, or maybe a pastel rainbow... idk.  So many possibilities (sorry I had to XD)

7. What is your fave tv show/anime? Favourites are hard because I either love something or hate it or am ambivalent, so I have lots of favourites.  Let’s just say Vikings because Lagatha is my queen and I love her.

8. Lipstick or lipgloss? (Or neither lol) Chapstick.  I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, my poor lips are always chapped despite the amount of chapstick I slather on them.  My poor lips don’t deserve this!!!  When I wear lipstick tho (which is not often, I wear lipstain with chapstick on top the most), I always put a bit of lipgloss on my bottom lip (as my nextdoor neighbour/makeup guru-sensei has taught me lol).

9. Fave clothes shop?  I’m one of those people that doesn’t shop unless I have to get something specific, in which case I basically go store-to-store until I find what I want. So this questions is n/a for me.

10. What country were you born in? The Great White North of course!

11. How was ur day? Really good! My bro is visiting for Thanksgiving, and we spent the day doing our fav things.  So it was nice!

1. Describe your favorite color without naming it.  It’s the colour in my name.  Is that too obvious?  How about... You get it from mixing red with blue.  Too logical?  Too bad.  I was gonna try something poetic but it’s bed time so the ol’ brain is not at optimum function.

2. Lazy summer heat or cozy cold winters?  Normally I would go with cold, but last winter was too cold and I am not ready for this one.  Plus I had a nice summer.  So summer heat wins today (who am I and what have I done with me?)

3. Two countries you would love to visit?  You know, I’m not sure. I know which ones I’d like to go back to.  But if I had to choose, ummm... Japan and Ireland.

4. Ninjas or pirates?  Ninja.  Always ninja.  My dream as a little girl was to be a ninja.  Pirates are cool but I don’t like fish and while the ocean is beautiful it’s not worth the lack of showers and clean teeth.

5. What two super powers would you choose to have?  Time-travel and teleportation.  Or maybe shape-shifting.  Dimension hopping? Is that a thing? That would be cool.  But 100% time-travel is what I want.

6. Would you rather have a pet bird or a pet iguana?  Iguana.  While I love birds, and I’d love to have a parrot or a raven or a crow, I feel like keeping one in a cage is very cruel.  They should be able to fly.  Now, if it was a pet bird that stayed outside but was my bff, then bird 100%.

7. Mittens or gloves?  Gloves.  I hate not being able to use all my fingers lol.  The limit to my dexterity is not worth the extra warmth.  Plus I think gloves look better in general.

8. What’s the first television you can remember watching as a child? Uhh... like tv show? Probably Sesame Street, but I didn’t like it.  So Barney (was my jam).  I mean... a big, purple dinosaur vs a big yellow bird... I think this has effected my life in ways I am only just realizing...  But the show that I have vivid memories of is the Power Rangers, and after that, Pokemon, though I was def older at the time. If we’re talling actual TV all I know is that it was black and square and probably a Panasonic since my dad was obsessed.

9. If the world ended who would you want to share your last days with?  I’m debating between wanting to spend it with my fam, and wanting to spend it alone lol.  Idk.  Maybe a bit of both?  Ask me at the end of the world.

10. Name something you would love to learn how to do. I’d love to learn Sign Language.  A friend and I are planning on taking lessons soon.  I’m excited!!!

11. Do you feel lucky? Well? Do you, punk?  Well, since that’s a .44 Magnum you’ve got there, the most powerful handgun in the world and could blow my head clean off, I’m not foolish enough to wager my life on whether you’ve fired six shots, or only five.
