I don’t think ppl give enough credit to rui for his dedication to fucking with people (outside of tsukasa of course) like. Knowing & acknowledging that nene wants nothing to do with him and Tsukasa on her first day of second year and deliberately following tsukasa to loudly ask if she’s getting along with people (just to be a jackass)? Implying his gift to akito will explode even though it won’t bc he wants to bug akito? Like I think rui at his core is full of love and a desire to make ppl smile but I also think he’s 200% committed to the bit first and foremost. ppl saying lu guang isn't a hypocrite? erm, damn ok lol. i think it's interesting that some ppl's knee jerk reaction when a character is ascribed negative/undesirable traits is to refute it because "nooo they're a good person actually!!" to me, lu guang being a potentially selfish, reckless hypocrite is far from a bad thing — in fact, it's good! it means he's a more interesting character with moral complexity and contradictions; someone we can root for but someone who isn't always in the right/making the most ethically sound decisions. two things can be true at once too! he can be selfish, be a hypocrite, etc and also still be a devoted, caring, and protective over the people he cares for. to me, that just makes him a compelling character.

The Syd Poll

the topic of this poll is one that is frequently avoided in the pink floyd fandom, but inevitably one we all consider – our individual views on what we think caused syd's psychological struggles (and by extension, led to his departure from the band). I think that – at least in this neighborhood of tumblr – this is a conversation we are capable of having in a way that is civil, nuanced, and at least minimally disrespectful to syd.
